"Yeah, I think that's a decision that could wait a very long time. And it might have to because the Patriots might need a desperate team that either through injury or just watching their own team and training camp practice as like, we're not good at left tackle or right tackle. By moving Isaiah win over to the right, at least now you're going to give and I assume he's going to be there in the preseason. You're giving film where they've seen him on both sides and that that might help the trade process because as of right now, 10.4 million for one season for Isaiah win for most teams is going to be pretty steep. So it's going to take some desperation, I think. And even some patriots eating some of the money to move him. But I think you're right. That it's something that could go to final cut downs. Really, or even after that because there's usually like ten, 11 days before the first game, something could get done in that area. I don't think they need to rush it. I don't think they will. And quite frankly, the Patriots need somebody to emerge to make them feel comfortable that when they can move on from wind, so that's Justin Haran. Or Andrew steuber, the draft pick who has yet to be cleared physically. Speaking of emerging, we've talked about the third running back, the past catching running back. As one of the needs for this team, right? One of the positions that need to pop. James White, Mike Reiss wrote that, you know, he's been walking with some kind of uncomfortable looking gait. I personally, as much as I love James White, I'm at the point, Greg, that I'm just not going to believe it until I see it. I don't know if he's going to play another down of regular season football. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I just don't trust that. So one of the guys we've been looking at as a possibility is Pierre strong drafted obviously by the Pats in April. Pierre was limited. How do you think that that past catching running back position is going to work here over the next few weeks? That's a good question. And if the first day is any judge and it probably isn't, but very heavy on the veterans Damien Harris Stevenson were pretty much the receiving backs out of the backfield when they were and people need to understand today was entirely red zone work. And this is similar to what we saw last year and we weren't sure what to make of it.

"Giardia as part of his coal strange report also said that, you know, as far as someone was lurking and he's really confident that someone was lurking in in love with Thornton and the majority has just gone full honk. Who is sources patriot sources? I don't know, but he brought up maybe Pittsburgh as that team lurking. Or maybe they like some of the stuff they saw in film. So I agree with though, Thornton is the is the swing pick. And works out if they hit a home run with thorium. I don't think many people are crying about this draft. A 100%, 100%. If he's what they drafted them to be, this draft is great. All right, let's run through quickly the rest of the draft here. Marcus Jones at 85, Greg. Love him, baller, ballplayer. I would have picked this guy in the same spot, you know, he's your future slot guy, kick returner, can give you probably a few snaps on offense too. I worry about his shoulders. He had shoulder surgery on both of them already, that's an issue for an interior sort of guy and a willing tackler, but love him. Absolutely love him. Love the pick. Arizona state cornerback, Jack Jones with one 21. This was another pick where people were screaming. Oh my God. What a reach by Belichick. Your thoughts on Jack Jones. Yeah, I would have, you know, he's a bit of a reach, you know, you hear that he has man covered traits and look, if the Patriots, again, this is another swing pick. It's a risky pick. It's a swing pick. If they got their man corner later, then I wanted to. I wanted elam in the first round. They got theirs later, picked up more picks. They got their inside cornerback and Marcus Jones of the future. Then great. I do think there's questions about Jones and, you know, he had a lot of off field issues earlier. We'll see if those are still the case. Obviously the Patriots Matt gros said they did a lot of homework. So I'm good with that. I took I took shaker Khalil shaker wide receiver Boise state in my draft in the spot. The Patriots met with Jones top 30 visit. They went out to Arizona to talk to the Arizona state people about Jones. So yeah, they did a lot of homework on him. He was a 5 star recruit, I believe, coming out of high school, he was really, really good in his freshman year. And then the off the field stuff bit him. Now, we know that there's been some past examples of this. Malcolm butler, JC Jackson, some things going on where guys were very talented, but it didn't work out for one reason or another. I'm not selling you that Jack Jones is going to be butler or JC Jackson. But the Patriots have a history of this and they feel comfortable with the homework they've done. They were right on butler. They were right on Jackson. We'll see if they're right on Jack Jones. Pierre strong at one 27 running back, home run hitter, Greg. Like, love the pick, good player, can give you a bunch of things. James White with speed. So I like to pick there. Yeah, and let's not forget that white over the weekend said he's got a ways to go. He might not be back. He might. I hope he comes back, but it's a hip significant injury to the hip and insert into the hip. So yeah, I'm not banking on James White. I love him. Hopefully he comes back and he looks like James White, but I'm not banking on it. One 37..

"Yeah, faster Rex burkhead is kind of the cop I made for him. I love the pick too. A lot of people were wondering, you know, I don't know why. A lot of people are saying they don't need a running back. They absolutely needed a running back. We've been mocking running back to them, not that we got the right one, but obviously, but we've been mocking running back. Yeah, of course. We've been mocking running back to them for months, right? I mean, we've been talking about them drafting and running back on day three for 12 weeks on this program. And look, we'll get into some of this when we talk about Kevin Harris too. Not every running back does the same things. They had multiple needs at the running back position. It's their early down in the past catching back, strong can probably do both, but you need realistically four or 5 running backs to get through a season. We've seen it kill them a couple of times, multiple years. We've seen it kill them not having enough backs. They have really two definite NFL running backs on the Ross right now and Harrison Stevenson. James White, notice respect to him. He's coming off a serious series hip injury. We don't know where he's at. He's actually wrote about James White this morning on his notes column and he said that he's still got a ways to go to college. When I say they have two NFL backs, James White is obviously an NFL talent. He's one of the most underrated players in the league. We don't know that he's going to be ready to play to start the season. We don't even know if he's going to be back to the same guy that he was pre injury. That's one of those injuries, you know, Doc just Dede does a great job with injuries and sports in Boston specifically. And she said at the time when he'd had the injury and the official injury was announced as the hips of flexion that some guys at that age, especially, they're never the same after that. And I hope that's not the case with James White, but the patriot has an organization have to plan in advance that that might not be the case. So you have Harrison Stevenson, we're legit. And neither one, I think, I think they both can be past catchers. The Patriots just don't use them like that. But James White,.

"Had a Tatum, I think. Wow. I think the case for Tatum was always, I was kind of penciling in. They had to be the one seed. For him to get it. But I would say it's slight edge to look at this point because you watch what he did today. You can not pull him out of that and replace that with anybody, which is the whole point of most most valuable or all MBA is a little different. It's a little more of a performance achievement. This is like who else could even run that team the way they have it. They're so dependent on all of his decisions for two and a half hours. The quarterback analogy is perfect because it's like watching the Brady short yardage offense where it's like, oh, James White out in the flat. Edelman over the middle. Gronk on the side, you know, that's what he's doing. Play after play. It's fucking awesome to watch. It's really, really, really high level. When do you think you'll pivot to, it's kind of like that Mac Jones throw out to the flare or like that's the flat, flare it out to the flat. No, I was gonna pivot to kind of like Mac Jones. Weaving it downfield to Devante Parker. Finally with a good quarterback. It's a little hop in a step. He's back, baby. Pats are back. You guys from the dolphins. It's like, oh, 7 all over again. I just look at, I feel the same way about the mav supporting cast. As I do about the nuggets, except the Mavs cast makes more sense. The nuggets didn't choose to have the cast they have their time. Two guys are in the gnocchis are just gone. This mask team, it's kind of carefully selected role players that just makes sense with him. And it's an expensive supporting cast, but if you said who's their second best guy, who's their second best guy, I still think it's Jalen 'cause you can kind of carry you when some sessions go awry. I know people are sort of down on him after the class or anything. I just really like Jalen Brunson a lot. But Finney Smith, his passing now, and then you can switch these guys and I'm telling you, Dwight Powell is always had this just max energy and he can move all over the place..

"Exclusive wagering partners at bet online dot AG. A stunner for the Patriots on Tuesday evening as they have traded starting right guard Shaq mason to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 2022 5th round draft choice, certainly not the return that most people would expect for a player of Shaq mason's caliber who was drafted by the Patriots in 2015 and started 98 games for New England during his time with the Patriots only a 5th round pick back in return. Now the Patriots do free up over $6 million in salary cap space by trading Shaq mason to the Tampa Bay bucks. So this does indicate that the Pats are freeing up cap space to go out there and do something in the free agency market with the space relieved from trading mason. The Boston heralds Andrew Callaghan reports that a potential next move for the Pats could be acquiring Dallas Wright tackle layoff Collins Collins is on the trade bloc from the cowboys who are also having issues with the salary cap after they dealt Amari Cooper to get out of his cap hit earlier this off season Collins. One of the best right tackles in the National Football League certainly somebody that would be a star on the New England offensive line and would mitigate the blow just a little bit of the Patriots losing mason and Ted Keras is also opens the door with now two guard spots open for the Patriots next season in terms of starting roles for Michael on wenu to put himself back in the starting lineup. The third year tackle guard now for the Patriots certainly an NFL starting caliber player. The Patriots coaching staff made that clear last year, even when he wasn't starting the pads found ways to get him on the field with those 6 offensive line packages. So now on wenu back in the fold in the starting lineup with Keras and mason moving on to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And other patriots news on Tuesday, the Pats have also re signed veteran running back. James White on a two year contract, white is coming off of hip surgery from an injury that he suffered in season last year in week three against New Orleans Saints. As of right now, sources tell us CLS media that the Patriots running back is on target to return to play next season at a full capacity in the Patriots get a very useful weapon and Mac Jones arsenal back in the fold for the 2022 season and his first two games with Matt last year. James White was on pace for over a hundred receptions and nearly 800 receiving yards, so certainly somebody the Patriots will like to have back in their offense. And last but not least, it feels like old news now, but the Patriots also traded defensive end chase winovich this morning to the Cleveland Browns in return they received a player for player swap in this case, Mack Wilson, a linebacker formerly of Alabama who played for Nick Saban with the crimson tide coming back to the Patriots and inside linebacker that can play off the ball and cover down the field and is a little bit smaller, faster, more athletic than the Patriots typical mold at the linebacker position. You can read my take on the Mac Wilson trade on steel and S media dot com as well as a take on the Shaq mason trade up on the.

"More of a receiving type back. And again, you're not expecting to hit with these picks here, but in Evans mock draft, he's only picking players. He thinks has a chance of making the team. So again, you're looking at life after James White. I don't think they've got it on the roster right now. So that is a that is an area you're going to need to replace at some point. Yes. So you look at the stuber from Michigan first. First of all, they hit a home run. We all think at least with Michael and Wendy from Michigan, right? Same program, same coaching staff. You grab another big, there's a tackle prospect on when you look at as an interior offensive line prospect. Stupor plays right tackle for Michigan. He's 6 four, 6, 5, 330 pounds. A big, big, big boy. Really move people off the line of scrimmage. That's the type of guy that in the past, you know, Trent Brown, Michael on we know these types of players. The patrons developed those guys pretty well. They do a good job now if Matt Patricia's coaching the offensive line, I'm not sure. It's going to be the same type of development, but they usually do pretty well with those big tackles with the big offensive lineman and getting their techniques sound enough in their foot speed sound enough with the hills and all that kind of stuff with their conditioning program to get something out of those guys. So I like steuber. I like CJ riddell. From Oregon. I think the one thing that you have to look at with the running back position is you got to start talking about the next James White. Who's the receiving back of the future? You know they have the early down back world covered with Damien Harris and reminders Stephenson. But who's the next guy to be on third down to be in the passing game? Videl really good lateral quickness, really good balance. It catches the ball, doesn't fight it. If somebody that looks like a natural in the receiving game, natural and space with the football on his hands, to me that's another one of those picks that you got to look down the road a year or two and say, okay, we need somebody that is going to be the next James White. I think CJ rodel's got that kind of potential might go a little bit earlier than the 7th round depending on how he works out here in the circuit. But I think that they might be able to get them there. All right, so that's mock draft one. When's the next one do?.

"If they put Brandon Bolden in this game against Devin white Lebanon, David, then they're screwed. I'm not going to swear because we have sponsors. But I want to swear and say they're aft. If they put Brandon Bolton in the game and try to have him beat Levante David and Devin white and coverage. I would say, you know, you know, you think, you think JJ Taylor because he's been better as a pass catcher, but I don't, you know against those linebackers, he's not going to be able to block those guys. He's not a good enough pass blocker yet. He's just not. So on one hand, Damien Harris should play 70% of the snaps because he was actually a pretty good ass protector at Alabama. They haven't used him a ton in that role here, but I feel most comfortable in terms of pass blocking from the and that's what you lose the most with James White. Like you lose a ton with James White, but the thing that nobody realized is how good of a pass blocker James White is. So I feel the best with Damien Harris is they really misrepresent this game. They've really, really miss Rex burkhead..

"Which still holds true that they need to knock this crap off because there are a lot of people in the middle, a lot of patriots fans who are going to be really torn up come Sunday Night and they should respect that. And it's part of the conversation that I have a little bit later with a special guest. I think that they've handled this week well so far. I would agree with you. One thing to be on the lookout for is a Jeff Darlington interview with Brady, I think that's going to be on Sunday on ESPN. So we'll see how that comes out. But I'm not surprised. I did not expect any dirt to be flown at each other this week. They're going to handle it professionally. They know what to do. Two on the field things quickly. James White officially done for the year. Do you think the Patriots look to acquire a running back Greg? I do not. I think they may down the line. I think they'll take, I think Stevenson, you know, gets off ice. And I think they go back to, all right, well, this is the way we plan things. Let's go back to it. He's been in the doghouse long enough. I think he gets back into the mix. I think JJ Taylor and also, look, we heard Ivan fears say that Stevenson might do some of James White's duties. That'll be interesting to see. I would rather see JJ Taylor. Get a chance. I thought I was 17. I thought his 17 yard run. They got called back on two holding penalties. Was really nice and I think it's just a taste of what he can do. And I think he's even better in the past game than people really understand at least from what we've seen in practice. So I don't think they're I don't think they're gonna do a move right now, maybe down the line. So one guy now off the field for the rest of the year with James White, one guy back on the field yesterday was Nikhil Harry. Greg, if he gets healthy, can he help this team? I think so Nick, I didn't see anything that sort of changed where we were towards the end of training camp in the 53 man roster, which is, you know, my stance from watching him all summer is Nikhil Harry is a good football player. And I think he can play good football for the Patriots. And they just need to figure out the right way to use him. And.

"Exclusive wagering partners at bet online dot AG. A lot of injury news for the Patriots on Wednesday we're gonna get to that in just a second, but starting with, you know what it is. It's Brady week. The Buccaneers coming here on Sunday Night football to play the Patriots at Gillette stadium, the return of one Tom Brady two Foxborough and patriots head coach Bill Belichick held his Wednesday morning press conference and actually had a lot to say, both about Brady Seth wickersham's book that set to come out, excerpts being released from that book today, and all things Tampa Bay. The Patriots head coach saying that both Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have done a lot for this organization and for him personally. And he has a lot of respect for both guys, but on Sunday, they are the enemy. Here's patriots head coach Bill Belichick on facing Tom Brady. What a defense do consider my tough quarterback to defend. Is that the question? Yeah. It's just tough. It's tough as any quarterback. Is or ever has been? This numbers are credible. About the past the all time passing record. He's done more than any other player at that position. In whatever measurement you want to take, whether it's the yards, completions, touchdowns, championships. You name it. So put anything out there you want. I don't get any tougher than him. Belichick also denied a report from ESPN's Seth wickersham that he did not want to meet face to face with quarterback Tom Brady when he decided to depart to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last off season, Belichick saying that a lot of those remarks in wicker sham's book are from second third and fourth sources and nobody that he speaks to on a regular basis, the head coach did not seem too happy with some of the things that were written about the Patriots in the book by wickersham. Now turning over to the injury fund for the Patriots, a lot of news to report on there as well as patriots running back James White will indeed miss the remainder of the season due to a hip injury that he suffered in the game against the New Orleans Saints. There was initial optimism that white would go on injured reserve and have a chance to return later in the season. But ESPN's Adam Schefter and field Yates reporting that white will indeed land on IR and will not return in the 2021 season white season is over, which is a huge bummer for the Patriots and for James White, the silent leader, the quiet leader, is what a lot of patriots, players called him today and just a consummate pro that does everything correctly and is often that person that people look to to emulate in the Patriots locker room at least James White will be able to stick around and help out his teammates off the field and meeting rooms, things like that, but he will not play for the remainder of the season due to a hip injury on a positive note in the injury report. Patriots wide receiver Nikhil Harry returned to practice on Wednesday, Harry, of course, has been on IR with that shoulder issue that in the game that he suffered in a game in the preseason in August Harry's clock is now ticking to return from IR, the Patriots have 21 days to activate the wide receiver. But the belief is here. He could return to the field as soon as Sunday against the Tampa Bay buck. So Nikhil Harry, back on the practice field, offensive tackled Trent Brown was limited once again on Wednesday with a calf injury there's optimism internally that Brown will be able to play against the bucks on Sunday. So James White out for the season with the hip injury. Nikhil Harry back at practice Trent Brown limited once again. That's the summation of the Patriots injury report on Wednesday and we will have you completely covered all week long from Gillette stadium, bucks week, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, who was actually a DNP, I should mention really quickly for the bucks on Wednesday with that rib injury that he suffered in Sunday's game against Los Angeles Rams, and there is some doubt on whether or not Gronk will be able to play in this game on Sunday Night. So make sure to monitor that as we move forward as well. But once again, this.

"And right now, they are not doing that often enough. And I watched that game on Sunday Night football between the packers and the forty-niners and I watched the game the week before with the chiefs in the ravens and I was like, this is two different leagues. This is two different leaves of scheme because Kyle Shanahan and Matt Lafleur are out there motioning guys using motion to build blocking, right? To add on blockers and motioning guys and get them to football, that boomerang motion on the goal line that they threw that touchdown to Devante Adams. Where he fakes like he's going to come around. I was awesome for the end around. And then he sprints back out the same direction that he came from. That is a Steve sarkesian Alabama staple. They do it all the time, the crimson tide. And we haven't seen the Patriots do any of those types of things. So you have to, you have to get more creative down there. And it's not just the motion. It's also being able to use the tight ends, right? Hunter Henry and Johnny Smith, they need to wake those guys up in the red zone because when you have two tight ends that are skilled like under Henry and Johnny Smith, there is absolutely zero excuses to be bad in the red zone. They have two guys that are perfect red zone weapons and tight ends that obviously always thrive down by the goal line. And there's zero excuse whatsoever to not get those guys integrated and get the ball in the end zone when they're getting those opportunities. Yeah. I know you said you kind of wanted to jump to defense. I do have one more thing on the offense. I want to talk about James White. Unless I don't know if you want to do this later in the show. No, go ahead. I wanted to talk about James White and also reminder Stevenson in the trickle down. Yeah, but here's the overarching thing. I think James White's potential absence is not being talked about enough. Because not only, first of all, James White was their leading receiver going into that game. Yeah. 12 catches through two games. But and this goes ties into to what we talked about with the offensive line. James White's their best pass blocking running back. Yeah. And they need that right now. And for them to operate the offense, they want to operate it. They need running. I have an idea about this, but go ahead. And if you go back to last year, Dave now lost their three best pass blocking running backs . In my opinion. And maybe you see it differently. You watch these things differently than I do. I think we'd be in agreement that James White Rex burkhead were one and two last year hands down. Yeah. And I would say Sony Michelle was really I would also say I would have Sony Michelle's it's James White one and two and then there's a bit of a gap before. Sony, but Sony was the third best pass blocking back. So this is a problem now. This is a problem and there's a really interesting discussion coming with her Monday Stevenson. And I think Stevenson or no, they should sign somebody and I put out a list of free agents today 98 5 the sports dot com, but if you remember, one of the things we were talking about after the draft was to pray Stevenson had gotten as a blocker..

"That to me is something where it's not necessarily as analytical to stuff you're talking about but it goes back to my whole thing about checking the boxes right? All right well boom cam checked Mac checked another box and here we go we move forward. That's another thing now. He another feather he has in his cap. Yeah I think that the takeaway from last night for me and I know everybody wants to make it cam versus Mac and who played better and who won the night last night for the Patriots. I think it's great that both quarterbacks played well right? Because that's ultimately what you want if you're a patriot fan and if you're Bill Belichick as you don't want Mac Jones to stumble into the starting job just because he plays can play so poorly that they have to start Mac right? Then both playing well you want them both playing at a high level and you want the cream to rise and let the best guy win. That's how you want to do it. But that's to me a bigger takeaway than who won the night or whatever. But I think the whole look the paints the Patriots won the night. It doesn't have to be one or the other. The Patriots won the night. This is the ideal scenario. They're both playing well. Cam Newton's gonna keep you competitive and you don't have to rush Mac Jones in which as much as some of these idiots want to do it. I heard a guy on Felder mask today. Yeah well you know on third and three he's gonna be able to check the ball down at James White who you drafted this guy for a ten year window. Who gives a shit about third and three in week two? We are looking at a ten to 15 year window with this guy. I don't care about 33 and week two. It's better off. He said I'm sorry I'm just I'm pissed off about other stuff. It's a outlet. You know this is what you want. I know people don't want to think about it because it has to be option a or option B because that's the society we live in. Both of them playing well is ultimately a good thing. This is when you draft a quarterback and you have a bridge guy. The problem with most bridge guys is they suck and you end up having to go away from them sooner than you want to. And that's ruined quarterback after quarterback after quarterback coming out of college. What you want is a bridge guy who you.

"So if you can improve on that in the margins, then hopefully you can actually throw him the ball down the field more and we have seen that. I think the play, they actually just missed on the throw camp and killed it dead. But the play there, he was think it was on in Monday practice when he ran by my Jackson on a deep post and was opened behind the defense. That was the first time that I can sit here and say an aquiline actually ran by somebody on an NFL field, right? Right. Yeah. It never happened before. If that continuously happens, if that becomes more of a consistent thing, it sets up the whole range of his abilities because then he can stop down and catch a back shoulder, or they can throw it up to him on a default like that and let him go up and get it and they can kind of implement different routes. Maybe he does start to get a little bit of cushion or have people respect his explosiveness off the line a little bit more that opens up those underneath routes. So even if we not a precise slant or dig route Runner, if Corners are backpedaling and respecting the Deep ball a little bit more than you don't have to necessarily be Julian. Edelman or Keenan Allen or someone like that and break ankles, right? You can just write trying to go about Thursday. At your pace and still get open. So I'm optimistic that the that the team is recognizing the way to use them a little bit better, but I'm more optimistic in the fact that mckeil it looks a lot faster than he did before and I had a lot of that. I think relates to the weight loss. I really do. I think he was playing too heavy years passed and that he's down to. I think you said around a hundred and ten pounds that that is exactly where you should be playing. Let's talk about some of these other bubble players. Then I want to talk about some of the rookies that we're going to see for the first time digit. Taylor song, talked about this a little bit here on the podcast, I've written about it out. So I'm sure you've written about it as well. And really quiet two weeks of training camp so far. Four digit Taylor. I know a lot of people were very optimistic that he could be the successor to James White and he could kind of take that torch and I really expected more about him and training camp. I thought he was going to have a true breakout camp. And there were people In the springtime when he had a really good mini-camp that were talking about him, taking James White strolled soon. You know, maybe not this year but net by next year having that be the JJ Taylor show. It has not home. Phone is not going in that direction and Training Camps so far. Now, we get into a game action and now his his time to kind of shine, right? He needs to do something, because there's five other running backs ahead of him on the roster. If you want to count remind Ray Stevenson, I don't think this team is keeping six running backs. I just, I have had my roster projection mostly finalized. We'll see what happens tomorrow night if I want to make some tweaks month, but keeping six running backs is really hard..

"Were just adding talent for the sake of adding Talent, right? There's any sport. You can do that. Well, if there's any sport you can do that as fast, but baseball is a close second. And thought, blow up football is the last sport where you can add Talent just for the sake of adding Talent, right? The Bill Belichick, one of my favorite Bill Belichick quotes. It's not about collecting Talent. It's about building a team. Yeah. Yep. Both and that's what the Patriots did with these guys. You know, they signed two very talented tight ends but they signed two guys with different skill-sets who both bring a unique element to the offense in there, to kill sets happened to play incredibly well off one another in that, you know, you're seeing it on the field now. And it's just so great to see that the idea you had in your brain back in March is it's exactly what it looks like happening on the field and it's just, it's brilliant. It's a great thing to see. It's a beautiful thing to see Hunter Henry is the the up to seem deep ball threat. He's going to bring a state cuz you have to put safety on him. He's going to bring a safety down the field. And then that leaves you, you're either putting your box safety up on John Smith. And he's going to be faster than most box, safeties or maybe a linebacker on him and he's going, be able to torture. Those slower players, underneath running some of the concepts you just talked about, like you said, they'll bring them up. Yeah. Do sometimes, and then that opens up James White because now you're going to have, you know, all right. So your best cover safety mode off. On on Hunter Henry your second covered safety, your fastest linebackers on jonnu Smith. Now you have your middle linebacker, your Slow, run-stopping line, background James White, he's going to be able to eat again this year long at all, like two pieces just fit together that Trio. It the pieces of that Trio fit together so perfectly when you look at how a defense is going to have to game-plan for this offense and that's a very I'm sure you could get much more indulged..

"I think that they did connect on it but he did run a double move and he'd be the guy. He did run a double move in minicamp. I remember and he got behind the Defence again. He has that element to home game. He has a a nice purse to him when he runs the football. But like you said, it's going to be all those elements is going to be able to pick up a blitz. Is he going to know? Not only physically, be able to pick up a blitz, but know where he's supposed to suck when when he is. And but stick up because the Patriots as a as an offense, as in terms of schematically, they really are a dual read system. And what not to read system means is that the running back can be 2412 a lot of the time. And he is going to have to pick where he who is going to block based off of who's the nearest threat where the what? Yep. They're kind of blocking scheme and what everybody else is sort of doing on a given play, it is not easy to block and pass protect in The Patriot system because of the complexities, in which they sort of do it, and there's some reasons for why they do that, but they don't read system is confusing for young players. That's why a lot of these guys don't get on the field and pass protection and because of those issues. So, it's definitely going to be the number one thing for JJ Taylor. I use it a dynamic player. I also want, you know, we mentioned earlier in the show, but he has that ability to return kickoffs. I think that's going to be a little bit of a factor here as well, where you might be able to see him have a role returning, kickoffs spoke to James White, a little bit and low leverage situations, and maybe he does see a little bit more playing time this season..

"This is the Greg Bedard Patriots podcast with Nick cabins. He is Greg Bedard. I'm Nick cattles. All right, Greg before we get started something very troubling in your notes today that we have to address. You had a dream that involved Jarrett Stidham and Nate Burleson. What the hell's going on with the rain right now? Yeah, seriously, I get this usually it's around draft time or you know, normally the Patriots sit out a lot of free agency. So not much is going on usually gets closer to the draft where everybody's throwing out different what if the Patriots did this and what if they traded this and what if they did that and normally I have some sort of weird-ass dream. I had a weird dream last night that news broke that Jarod stood him was traded I think to Seattle I think okay mate Burleson, so, you know, and in fact most people will know that Nate Burleson no longer plays any NFL but he's on the NFL Network now, so I'm all sorts of messed up Nick. That's I mean, let's talk it out. That's an interesting trade for a job. I mean, they didn't have to give up anything and they got a backup quarterback possibly for a guy who's on T. All right, let's talk about the real world. Now Greg a couple of big re-signings yesterday. I think both of them to me was a you know, they were a surprise I do not expect James White to be back. I thought that ship had sailed. Apparently, it had not white back on a one-year deal about 2 and 1/2 2 and 1/2 months guaranteed your thoughts on that decision by white and that decision by the Patriots. Yeah. I was I was a little bit surprised by this everything that I had heard up till now I pointed to White going to Florida where his mom is still I think recovering from the car accident that she had in September with her husband James bit dead or he he died as a result of his injuries. And so that was a pretty traumatic thing for him all year. And and there were a lot of people around the NFL who thought he was destined first from Miami, but then it looks like that was dead. Happened for some reason I think.

Happened for some reason I think and we've sort of talked about this Nick in in. Oh, I know I talked about on felger & Mazz a got the south Florida media all abuzz, you know people are calling me and you know throwing bombs and things like that, but from what I've heard, let's just say that the a lot of Patriots are not getting good feedback on what's going on with the dolphins and really revealing around a lot of people is if you end up with the dolphins, you're straight going for the bag and Adam Butler I think signed with them this year probably was his best offer. I think Al and Roberts just signed back. I don't know how many offers he had butt off, you know, we'd really didn't hear James his name with the dolphins very much during this free agency. There was a there was a hint at it early on and then from what I heard dead. White was basically signed sealed and delivered to the Box because that's what Brady wanted and Brady

"Because brings them joy it's demonic to the nth degree it really is it really is and the thing is it's all it's all based on the fact that they've got a revolution they've got they've got something they've got a change they wanna make when wanna tear down the hierarchies all that stuff so everything is fair. Game to them are saw. Somebody had commented. I don't know if it was on your a gob of your zero gab of mine. But they had said with these with these progressives and liberals the issues never the issue. The issue is always the revolution so anything that they can use to further their revolution. They're going to attempt to use it and there's no shame it doesn't matter how irrelevant it is. As a matter. How wrong they end up being like the first story was. Oh he's racist. The second story is he's sexist and he of course either way it's the churches fault so but one of those is ally but they'll still go with both of them because both of them you know. They help their goals. So i guess he was a racist sexist. I guess. I mean that's probably what it is so you know it's just it's just all pretty pathetic and here's what i said to my wife Today Obviously i i feel sorry and i feel bad for tom. Jared because nobody wants to be like drug through the mud like this. Nobody wants people the say these things about them. It it sucks. You know what. I mean but strategically though this stuff works to our advantage very well because rachel denhellender is that are hysterical. Woman and i actually am not even mad at her. I'm actually really more mad at the men involved in her life for husband mutt russell. More all these guys that support her. They throw her out there to do their dirty work. And this is a damaged woman like this is a damage woman. She's obviously hysterical. Same thing with jewelry mica. She's hysterical and it's like. I can't get too mad at her because she needs to have strong menander life hunting. Maybe you shouldn't like do this kind of thing like this is going to really hurt you in the long run to be involved in the front lines this way. So i'm really kind of just pissed at the men and the sbc us to say anything to help to help this woman. You know what i mean. It's just they're just throwing her to the wolves and it's messed up absolutely right. It's sad and it's totally messed up. So here my three reasons. Why i think they're demons and why i am very comfortable with demons. Reasons tough three reasons and one is how they act which we've just laid out to is. How freaked out. They got when there was even this association of it whatsoever. It totally reminds me at times in the bible in the gospels. Where either it was disciples trying to cast them out and they were mocking them. And there's all or there was people that were like even jesus was starting to cast out demons and they got worse and all of this different stuff like that is to me. A characteristic of the demon possession is like. You're right over the target flipping out and they're going to do all sorts of crazy things like they've done with the founders dock and all this different stuff probably with this show with me calling them demons but there's another part and this is something that i've been doing the last couple days which i've really enjoyed just as a side note is. I've been leaving my bible open just in different rooms of the house to kind of encourage me more to.

Key Super Bowl Matchups: The Case for the Kansas City Chiefs & Tampa Bay Buccaneers Winning Sunday
"The Kansas City Chiefs versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The long road that led us here with many unique twists and turns is a story unto itself. Now, in about 3.5 hours, the game which promises history, the chief's looking to become the ninth team with back to back titles. The Bucks hoping to put 1/7 Super Bowl ring on Tom Brady's hand. I'm Scott Graham. Happy to be back with your four Super Bowl Sunday, and my co host is a man who won two Super Bowls back to back, including an M V P honor for Super Bowl 32. He's an NFL network in Westwood, one analyst, the Hall of Famer, and he's been with us each week on this program all season long. Well, Davis. Welcome aboard. Scott. Man, It is eyes exciting and getting ready for this big game. A man I'll tell you what. When you look at how this one is going to play out, everybody is focusing on the quarterback's rightfully so. But when you start looking at a couple of the individual matchups in this game, there is a lot that ends up coming into play. And one of the things that everybody's been focusing on all week is the fact that the chief's dinged up on the offensive line going with backups there against a really strong past Russian. It Defense for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That seems at least right now to be one that's playing at its peak. Is that the key matchup in your mind? Well, that is one of them. I mean, we look at the Bucks defense and we've seen what they looked like the last couple of weeks and listen. Todd Bowles, Their defensive coordinator, has really got them dialed in. They've gotten after, and Rogers drew Brees and, you know, I think this defense is going to be, you know, formidable when it comes to getting after Patrick Mahomes, but You know, he's such a great quarterback. He's such a guy that can get out of situations that you don't think he could get out off s. Oh, that's gonna be a challenge for this team as well. When you look at it, and from your perspective, especially, I mean a running back a hall of Fame running back and very rarely these days is anybody say, Well, the running game is going to be a really big part of this. It seems like that's becoming an antiquated idea. Can the running game for the chief's help in some way, take away some of the aggressiveness of the Tampa Bay defense? Yeah, I believe so, Scott, because you know all the focus of this game really is gonna be on the chief's weapons, right? You know, you got obviously Tyree Kill Travis Kelsey. Then you have the other guys out there to me, Cole Harmon. And then you have Clyde. That was the lair who last year was an El s. You had a phenomenal national championship game, and I think a game like this is going to bode well for him, because if you're tired of those, you can't double team everybody. Somebody's got to have one on ones. And if you're the bucks, you've got to put more people in coverage. So that's gonna leave a light box for Clyde Edwards. He layer not only running but the short passing game, and I think that Eric the enemy, and Anne Rie will find a way to make this young man have an impact in a game like this. On the other side. Everybody, of course, is focusing on Tom Brady. I mean, he got them here, and he is once again right in the middle of the possibility of winning a super books. 10th visited pressure absurd, absurd. When you look at this team, they've got a whole bunch of weapons as well. Is there one that you focus on the offensive side of the ball for Tampa Bay? That you think might have a bigger impact in this game than another? I do. I think it's actually Leonard for net and not necessarily in the running game. But little has been Really good and their passing game, And I think that kind of matchup between Leonard for Net and the linebacker Damian Will Wilson and Anthony Hitchens from the chief's, because when you start doing that thing where they played in week, 12 Barnett had a decent game, but Ronald Jones caught the ball in the flat and was able to have a long touchdown score from that ball that was thrown into the flat. So no one is talking about that. But I think that again, Hitchens and Wilson is gonna have to have a really good game and not again. It's not with him running with the football. He's been a threat as a receiver, which is something that his game is never had. So I think, you know, Of course. Tom Brady likes to get his backs involved in games like this member James White. He had a phenomenal Super Bowl. So I think later for now is gonna be a guy that's gonna have to have a huge impact. Last thing for this segment does the first meeting have any impact on what we're about to see in a few hours here or is that just research? Yeah, I think you could take some things. Most coaches look at the game and they kind of take The things that sort of worked, you know, everything goes. She kind of just you pick things of a game and say Okay, well, we have success against his team before. You know, we'll try to do it again this time, but maybe we're gonna disguise it a little differently, but run the same kind of plays. So, yeah, I think you there's things that each team can take from that meeting. But, you know, I think it's about who can make those adjustments and going into this game. I think ultimately it's going to be the team that comes out

Newton Shines As Boston Area's Patriots Beat New York Jets In Week 17, Finish Season 7-9
"After two game winning streak by the new york jets day fall just short by just i mean. Fourteen points sure to defeating the new england patriots. Adam gates has already been told that he will not be returning so jet fans. You can rejoice cam newton finish this game. No twenty one of thirty two hundred and forty two yards and three touchdowns along with eleven carries for seventy nine yards cam. Newton had himself day he also had a receiving touchdown which is pretty cool. If you're going to be real. I mean that's a nice way to cap off your week. Seventeen that was thrown by jakobi meyers. New England Patriots Press Pass
The Problem With Newton's Throwing Game in Rams Loss
"Version Cam Newton did we see here what he was asked to pass. Well, I thought that he saw the field decently well and I think he's making solid decisions with the football. The timing could be a little bit better and there's certain instances where I think the timing is more of a factor than others for instance the defaulted to Mere bird on the double move. The pressure really was a factor on that play and he had to slide up in the pocket to avoid the pressure. But if he doesn't have to slide up and he's able to throw them all on time and that's probably a touchdown or at least a more competitive play right instead of two guys being all over damiere Byrd at the catch point. He's behind the defense. He probably has an opportunity to catch that ball the other kind of issue that I I kind of see what the timing is on the short throws, you know, James White's production and and ability to affect the passing game has really hurt a lot because the cam and I don't need to put it all on cam. But when you see James White Run routes out of the backfield, he's the type of guy that you need to get him the ball sooner rather than later. You can't hold the ball and then throw the ball to James White the flat because of the players deserve. And to get James White one on one with somebody in the in space on the outside on the boundary, then the ball needs to get into his hands sooner than so he can read and react and make a play and make somebody Miss. So he saw that third down on the opening drive where they ended up having to go for it on fourth down cam just Waits an extra tick. It's just an extra tickets literally half a beat and because of that half a bead by the time James White catches the ball game turns upfield the DB is right on right and if he's able to get the ball out just a little bit quicker than James White has some time 15-20 yard game, right. He has some time to shake somebody and and eluded tackle or Thursday through the angle or whatever the case may be. So those are the little things that you see with cans timing and the timing of the entire operation that when you only throw the ball nineteen times and you start to count, you know, okay, you have the Mist default and your bird and there was a Crossing route to Jacobi Myers. That was a really tough throw that came just missed by like an inch or two and you have to make that pass because then you have to make the double dog. Work with bird and you have to get James White the ball sooner in the flat and these little things these nitpicks truly. They are nitpicks folks. We you go watch other quarterback play and it's not it's not all sunshine and rainbows for the other 31 teams either and I think we get too caught up in the minutiae of where is his Fleet and you know, his shoulders are flying open as hips are doing that and he's not pointing towards his Target and this that and the other thing I think it's too much conversations about those little things and not enough conversations about the big picture things, which is really just timing and kind of understanding what you know, your answers are that kind of stuff that I think is more important probably than all the little manush has like the throwing mechanics and things like that. Yeah, and we talked about this last week just under rated quarterback skill off of of being a dink-and-dunk quarterback. It's it's it's it's there's such negative connotations behind it. But the the Precision that it takes and the timing chain, And the placement all of those things is the difference between 4 yard losses and fifteen yard gains sometimes and those are big plays potentially if you hit them right and and being able to do that within the rhythm of this office is difficult seeing obviously James White be neutralized because there's not a lot of Playmakers on this team and he is one so finding a way to get him going. I think that really goes hand-in-hand with Cam being able to do this off

Patriots may soon have to deal with their first Antonio Brown issue and it has to do with his number
"We have to talk about the biggest storyline in the NFL Antonio Brown as it looks like the saga for Antonio in some ways is finally ending and in other ways. It's just beginning for number eighty four as Antonio uh-huh Brown signs a one year proved deal with the New England patriots and it's hilarious because there is so much speculation when all his shenanigans with the Oakland Raiders for going on that really it was just a grand master plan for Bill Bella check to somehow land the all world talent wide receiver in sure enough he gets released from the raiders and later that day signs deal with the New England patriots another huge weapon in the offense four. Tom Brady and this has shades of what Randy Moss did did when he was with the Oakland Raiders. Moss spent some time in Oakland during his games he played for the raiders. You could just see that the big hall of fame wide receivers hardest wasn't in it. He wasn't really producing for the raiders he was now running routes with this full heart. You can just tell that he wasn't the Randy Moss when he was sooner in Oakland and then he goes to the Patriots under Bill Belichick and has a career year a record setting year with Tom. Brady Brady threw for fifty touchdown passes does that offense was just a cold plays away from being the first team to go perfect nineteen in Oh as they were trying to catch the seventy two dolphins they lose of of course the super bowl to the tremendous comeback led by Eli Manning and the New York giants. Is this going to be just like that. Are we gonNA see a patriots team. That could possibly go undefeated after Sunday night. That's a very real possibility that defense for the Patriots absolutely shut down the steelers and and if they know they're gonna get just a boatload of points on the offensive side of the ball you know Bill Belichick GonNa give all of his time and effort to making sure that that defense is ready eighty each and every week for their match. Make sure everyone's healthy ready to go that the scheme is right and we very well could see a run at history again in New England might right sound a bit presumptuous just in week one but the steelers are a classic. AFC favorite especially when they had the big three Bell Brown and Rothlisburger now with two of those three pieces Gone Smith Schuster looks to pick up the slack for Antonio Brown but now yet to find someone to pick up the slack for Juju at that wide receivers Chris to spot you also gotta be be frank here that James Connor is not living on bell. We saw that in that game Sunday night so the steelers were still a good test defensively civilly always are fantastic and brady made them just look like a peewee football team out there as he had no problem going for thirty three points in that game and pass over three hundred honored yards. You put a be in that mix with Josh Gordon Julian Edelman the running back tandem of James White as well as Sony Michelle is going to be a really tough challenge to beat this patriots team and because of that you who who's to say I mean they they could do it. They could do it you. You can't say they can't there. There is a real world possibility with the addition of Antonio Brown that the Patriots could make some history but now we gotta look back at how this came to be an Antonio oneal brown you could tell really from the Gecko once he got into camp once he started running some routes with Derek Carr in this raiders offense something clicked in his head that he did not want. I WANNA be in Oakland. I mean he did the cryotherapy happens and you chalk that up to operator malfunction with the frostbite on the feet then he goes on this insane escapade with the helmet trying to get all that taken care of in think in trying to use his old helmet. He's used forever he. He's had six months to do it and he doesn't think that's enough time to find a new helmet. I mean he's not looking for new kidney. He just needs a helmet you. There's ways to figure that out to make it fit and make it. It'd be comfortable everyone else in the NFL did it why couldn't he that becomes an issue. He's stays out of training camp. He doesn't do the walk throughs. The helmet issue did not mean he couldn't couldn't practice with the team he did that on his own accord and then he goes after the general manager of the raiders after he gets fine for actions he knows our final. He did them with that in mind. There wasn't like that fine just came out of the sky on him and Mike mayock gets verbally costed by Antonio Brown he goes on a barrage. I use of slayer of slurs cuss words to Mike May Auchan your raiders still still planned on playing him in there Monday night game against the broncos broncos that says a lot about the raiders as an organization that they were willing to take this abuse from Antonio Brown and take all this Prima Donna behavior behavior that was happening with Ab and still play him Monday night when he's barely practice with the team we talked earlier in the season here here on this show about how Antonio Brown by taking all this media attention has helped the raiders rookies developed because they haven't had to deal with it and that's still true in the lot of the raiders rookies have talked talked about in themselves and the second year players have said by having Antonio Brown. It's been nice that they haven't had to deal with the media coverage and hard knocks and that was really a lot more centered around Antonio Brown but he's also had a terrible example as an a way to conduct yourself as professional with what he's done with the raiders clearly didn't want to be there show the the reaction video when he finally gets released from the raiders and all of that finally goes down and I think the raiders are better off for it you if you're going to establish a new culture in Oakland. You can't have this going on in your locker room on your sideline. You need to get Antonio Brown out of out of there if he wants out all the better let him go you cut your losses just saved a lot of money by voting that twenty nine million that you would yet. You'RE GONNA pay him over the three years Antonio Brown you get your wish you go you get to play for the Patriots I think both sides can kind of wash their hands of the issue but now the rest of the NFL has to deal with the Patriots and Tom Brady having Tony Brown as viable and very real. You'll weapon for them

So me a quick tweet at Neil see us. I'll be curious for quick show of hands of just how many people have that. And the point here is if Facebook can't get this, ROY is clear that the event discovery space is right for disruption, but who is going to have the right solution about brings me to today's guests who is Richard Green and here's the founder of events that slow e v and t and they've had over thirty thousand customers across one hundred thirty nine countries.
