Patriots may soon have to deal with their first Antonio Brown issue and it has to do with his number
"We have to talk about the biggest storyline in the NFL Antonio Brown as it looks like the saga for Antonio in some ways is finally ending and in other ways. It's just beginning for number eighty four as Antonio uh-huh Brown signs a one year proved deal with the New England patriots and it's hilarious because there is so much speculation when all his shenanigans with the Oakland Raiders for going on that really it was just a grand master plan for Bill Bella check to somehow land the all world talent wide receiver in sure enough he gets released from the raiders and later that day signs deal with the New England patriots another huge weapon in the offense four. Tom Brady and this has shades of what Randy Moss did did when he was with the Oakland Raiders. Moss spent some time in Oakland during his games he played for the raiders. You could just see that the big hall of fame wide receivers hardest wasn't in it. He wasn't really producing for the raiders he was now running routes with this full heart. You can just tell that he wasn't the Randy Moss when he was sooner in Oakland and then he goes to the Patriots under Bill Belichick and has a career year a record setting year with Tom. Brady Brady threw for fifty touchdown passes does that offense was just a cold plays away from being the first team to go perfect nineteen in Oh as they were trying to catch the seventy two dolphins they lose of of course the super bowl to the tremendous comeback led by Eli Manning and the New York giants. Is this going to be just like that. Are we gonNA see a patriots team. That could possibly go undefeated after Sunday night. That's a very real possibility that defense for the Patriots absolutely shut down the steelers and and if they know they're gonna get just a boatload of points on the offensive side of the ball you know Bill Belichick GonNa give all of his time and effort to making sure that that defense is ready eighty each and every week for their match. Make sure everyone's healthy ready to go that the scheme is right and we very well could see a run at history again in New England might right sound a bit presumptuous just in week one but the steelers are a classic. AFC favorite especially when they had the big three Bell Brown and Rothlisburger now with two of those three pieces Gone Smith Schuster looks to pick up the slack for Antonio Brown but now yet to find someone to pick up the slack for Juju at that wide receivers Chris to spot you also gotta be be frank here that James Connor is not living on bell. We saw that in that game Sunday night so the steelers were still a good test defensively civilly always are fantastic and brady made them just look like a peewee football team out there as he had no problem going for thirty three points in that game and pass over three hundred honored yards. You put a be in that mix with Josh Gordon Julian Edelman the running back tandem of James White as well as Sony Michelle is going to be a really tough challenge to beat this patriots team and because of that you who who's to say I mean they they could do it. They could do it you. You can't say they can't there. There is a real world possibility with the addition of Antonio Brown that the Patriots could make some history but now we gotta look back at how this came to be an Antonio oneal brown you could tell really from the Gecko once he got into camp once he started running some routes with Derek Carr in this raiders offense something clicked in his head that he did not want. I WANNA be in Oakland. I mean he did the cryotherapy happens and you chalk that up to operator malfunction with the frostbite on the feet then he goes on this insane escapade with the helmet trying to get all that taken care of in think in trying to use his old helmet. He's used forever he. He's had six months to do it and he doesn't think that's enough time to find a new helmet. I mean he's not looking for new kidney. He just needs a helmet you. There's ways to figure that out to make it fit and make it. It'd be comfortable everyone else in the NFL did it why couldn't he that becomes an issue. He's stays out of training camp. He doesn't do the walk throughs. The helmet issue did not mean he couldn't couldn't practice with the team he did that on his own accord and then he goes after the general manager of the raiders after he gets fine for actions he knows our final. He did them with that in mind. There wasn't like that fine just came out of the sky on him and Mike mayock gets verbally costed by Antonio Brown he goes on a barrage. I use of slayer of slurs cuss words to Mike May Auchan your raiders still still planned on playing him in there Monday night game against the broncos broncos that says a lot about the raiders as an organization that they were willing to take this abuse from Antonio Brown and take all this Prima Donna behavior behavior that was happening with Ab and still play him Monday night when he's barely practice with the team we talked earlier in the season here here on this show about how Antonio Brown by taking all this media attention has helped the raiders rookies developed because they haven't had to deal with it and that's still true in the lot of the raiders rookies have talked talked about in themselves and the second year players have said by having Antonio Brown. It's been nice that they haven't had to deal with the media coverage and hard knocks and that was really a lot more centered around Antonio Brown but he's also had a terrible example as an a way to conduct yourself as professional with what he's done with the raiders clearly didn't want to be there show the the reaction video when he finally gets released from the raiders and all of that finally goes down and I think the raiders are better off for it you if you're going to establish a new culture in Oakland. You can't have this going on in your locker room on your sideline. You need to get Antonio Brown out of out of there if he wants out all the better let him go you cut your losses just saved a lot of money by voting that twenty nine million that you would yet. You'RE GONNA pay him over the three years Antonio Brown you get your wish you go you get to play for the Patriots I think both sides can kind of wash their hands of the issue but now the rest of the NFL has to deal with the Patriots and Tom Brady having Tony Brown as viable and very real. You'll weapon for them

Melvin Gordon's Agent Requested Trade When Chargers Didn't Change Contract Offer
"Now in the NFL we still have this hold out situation with Melvin Gordon where Melvin Gordon agent now the newest development is we heard that he could request a trade but you're seen Anderson from ESPN is saying that now the agent for Melvin Gordon has asked for a trade the Chargers apparently have offered him ten million dollars per season not good enough for Melvin Gordon like what is this guy I think he's going to get you you're running back that's not even like one of the upper echelon running backs in the league like you're fine but here's the reality of the situation from a running efficiency standpoint the Chargers actually average more yards per carry when you were off the field when you're on it like I just don't understand where Melvin Gordon thinks his leverages in this whole situation maybe it says more about the state of the running back position where he's so desperate to get that contract right because he doesn't know if he's going to get another contract after next one so this is his opportunity Cassian because by the time besides this one the next one is going to be like on the other side of thirty right he's probably never going to get another big contract again so this is opportunity cash and maybe that's part of it because I don't know what he thinks he's got to get they offer you ten million dollars man what type of what do you think you're gonna get what type of what did you think you're going to get on the open market like you're a running back that okay are you pretty good well what team is investing that type of money on you you're not as he kill Elliott right you're not se Kwan Barkley you're not Christian McCaffrey like you're a decent running back you're pretty good running back your top ten guy in the league but nobody's paying that type of player that type of money so I just think that he's delusion alone is thinking that he's going to get this big deal from another team like some other team out there is going to be like oh yeah you know we want to do we want to side Melvin Gordon to a big time long term contract extension okay because we just saw the patriots won the Superbowl with the rookie running back in so to Michelle and James White okay not like they're investing a whole lot of money into those two players in particular right we seen it through the years I'm not a lot of these guys in terms of the big running back contracts are playing in major Superbowl games or major AFC and NFC championship games and here's the thing like you could make this argument for some of the guys were the offense is centered around that right like Zeke is the alpha and the omega of the cowboys offense the whole thing is schemes around Zeke and when six not there we've seen at the team was three and three okay same thing with like Marshawn Lynch back in the day when he was playing with the Seattle Seahawks like the offense was geared around him are also will sit in that read option game right but it was about Marshawn Lynch as a running back dominating the football game and we saw how many damn years it'll take for Seattle to find a replacement and you could argue okay Chris Carson and a nice your but is he really the replacement they've been looking to replace that position for like ever since Marshawn Lynch decided to retire so the offense was built around marshon ledge okay so we've seen it throughout the years when the offense is built around the running back okay maybe those guys have a dispute right like sick one Barkley not that he's gonna have a contract issue right now because in a second year but the office is going to be built around sick one Barkley this year the Chargers offense this works against Melvin Gordon the office is a built around you man the offense is built around a solid passing game with Philip rivers a borderline hall of fame caliber quarterback with now Keenan Allen healthy hunter Henry at healthy Mike Williams like those type of guys the offense is based around the passing game and your part of the equation in the running game but you're not like the main piece of the offense like we've seen with some of these other running backs that have got money over the past couple of years you're not that guy so I don't know what Melvin Gordon thinks he's gonna get this is just the sad reality of where the position is because like I said he's a top ten guy in the league and think about it if he's a top ten receivers get money right and he's a top ten corner he's get money and he's a top ten left tackle these get money and we know if he's a top ten quarterback do get paid but now he's in a position if you're Melvin Gordon your top said running back so yeah yeah I don't know okay now I'm moving on okay Melvin we'll get something for you will trade yeah all right the question is what are the charges

"You know, I well, the the the ommission I mean, of course, he wasn't gonna mention it. But all this business was the secretary of state's office. And and these allegations about, you know, the voter fraud, and the non-citizen voter lists, and all of this a lot of misinformation out there, of course, and and were trying to work this weekend, and whose misinformation his widdly, the news, sixty states misinformation or the media's well information, I mean, there are still state agencies that we haven't heard from on this. We've asked multiple times department of public safety to explain you know, what's the? The report from from what these office came from what he said was a DP, you know, DPS investigation eventually, and and the department of public safety working with the secretary of state's office to get all this information sorted out. So we've asked multiple times EPS and and. Crickets. So, you know, there are still folks that we need to hear from before this thing that said and done, you know, remains to be seen whether the secretary of state appears in front of of the elections committee on the house side did the he appears in front of the nomination committee on the Senate side for his confirmation hearing on Thursday. So which ought to be interesting, and you can expect a I I would hope to expect a question or two about what's going on right now. You know, there's lawsuits left and right on this. You know, that was that was something that that Democrats were were. You know, kinda kinda chafed about today. But I you know, I didn't really didn't see anybody get the goal of of the overall message. You know, there was even. The tears that came when the governor wanted to revisit the UT and AM football rivalry game. Right. So I mean there there is so much on the table here. And it was just kind of have to some of that you really do just have to wait so much your headline from the days, we get you out west. Our headline is the the emergency item. You know, those those five priority three of which have already been filed in the Senate. Right. So the senate's well on his way the house, you know, with the new speaker, and and the m- the new leadership with Dustin boroughs, working hard on the the house version of the property tax Bill, I talked to him the other day. And I said, you know, I imagine you haven't been working on much else each said education property taxes. And so, you know, that that's it goes issues, and and both sides are working on them both chambers working on wis ramp appeared it west ramp their own Twitter. We preach you making time, buddy. Thank you. We're working on you becoming a regular guests here. I mean, you make person good radio whiz rep board. Hey, thanks. Yeah. What what keep working on it? Yeah. Let's keep working on it. "I mean, there's no question. And and you know, there are. I think it safe to say, they're definitely hold in in the overarching theory. You know, he he said the state of the state is better than it's ever been. And and he's you know, he he wanted to prove it today. And and, but it is a right leaning agenda, if Republican leadership the governor, Lieutenant governor, the speaker, and that being said, there are some agreeable issues and everybody I think is is on a similar path and has a similar goal on most of these issues, but it's right-leaning. I mean, there are definitely some things that that like the the insurance piece like the voter registration and insurance piece. Like, the the the uninsured. The number of uninsured Texan is is the highest in the country. And so, you know, there he didn't mention that in his speech. And so that that says something that sends a message. It's a message by omission. In a lot of ways. So, you know, you're right. I think that there. It's safe to say that it was that it was right leaning, and that this is a right leaning leadership because it is and but it's much more centrist now than it has been in reading. Yeah. In recent memory, when do you take away from this? Like historical Asakusa stork league. Even whenever it was Bob Bullock in the upper chamber and Pete Laney in the lower chamber that was always this competitiveness. This sense of we're going to work against one another as chambers, which I think in a democracy is a good thing. But now you've got the lower chamber in the upper chamber saying we want to work together with one another on what's called property tax reform that two point five percent cap for rollback regulations. What do you make of the two chambers wanting to work together this message of unity in how long does it last Wes? Well, yeah, probably is it all the lawmakers that I talked to over the last couple of weeks and months leading up to the session, and now that the session started, and you know, now now we're into airy. And I mean everybody is so optimistic. I mean. Of course, the cynics out there say, you know, how how long will this last? And and there are you know, I have not seen or heard from any lawmakers specifically that they are not on board with the way things that they are. You know, this is like, you know, to say now, you know, this is the Democrats bipartisan everybody I've talked to has been optimistic about what they're seeing. They think that this is the right direction. They think that that this overarching theme of the two major issues have to get resolved now. And you know, think about it this way. I mean, what are you say if you can't paint on this? You're now here you all the all the stars are all aligned, and if it doesn't happen, you know? I think the Democrats have a chance to take the house in twenty twenty right? So there is a lot on the lines year. If it doesn't work for Republicans in the Texas legislature. Of course, I realize I'm saying this, you know, Texas is red state, and we can have discussions about how red and all that. But you know, there there are some serious repercussions. If this does not go the way that everyone says that they expect it to go. So, you know, I'm. We're trying to look kind of big picture while also seeing happening right in front of our faces. And and so that it's hard to it's hard to say, you know, you kinda just have to wait for things to play out. I mean now that the committee resigned now that we're gonna see property tax Bill in a hearing tomorrow for the first time in the Senate side and the property tax committee. You know, there are there. There's no excuse not to get it done. The the toll from here will be will it be done in a way that work for both Republicans and Democrats for those rural and urban for all constituent, so that they feel supported in and you know, the millions and millions of people in Texas feel like they're being represented in Austin wis rampant Fulcrums is we read long here. Tell me it was there something you talked with members today to mention their names that they heard in they. They kind of just gritted their teeth at..

"He is west Rappaport doing it every day there with Nexstar Rappaport reports how're you doing my friend. Great could be on with you. How are you doing? I expect you to lead in a little more enthusiasm there west. Hey, it's been a long day. But. It is it has been a long day for you. So you went covered the state of the state to carry the camera and the microphone. All of it. We ride suit at it report. I carry the the camera tripod the the little backpack that the signal back to the station. I carry it all the he's the one stop shop there Wes Rappaport. So give us have not waited to go into the state of the state until we had you on major themes. What you take away? Well, the essentially the governor outline, you know, five and a half kind of major priorities, and I say I've and a half because he the emergency item really boiled down to school finance reform, increasing teacher pay one Google safe, which is one and a half. I mean this one. And and a and an a dangling, okay? School safety to mental health is three property. Tax reform is foreign disaster responses five, okay. So he he kind of you know, explained each of those, and and I'll be highlighted some other priorities. He brought the governors trophies out as well, highlighting the the economic prosperity of Texas, and he talked a little oil and gas, and he talks security, and he talked border security, you know, talking about and at one point he said that that, you know, the federal government's not doing enough it's not doing its responsibility in terms of the border security aspect, and and he said that he wants Texas to fully fund border security operation, the at least along the Texas board. So tha. Are you going to be in the later, Wes? Well, he didn't specify, and obviously we don't get a chance to do ask follow up questions at thing like this. But something that definitely caught the eye of Democrats during their rebuttal saying, you know, we've let's address healthcare before we start putting away money for border security. You know, Texas has obviously the most uninsured just the most people without health insurance. And so there's some other things that that that in the democratic rebuttal that we heard that that they would like to prioritize over a border security, but nevertheless, nothing, you know, nothing like we saw in twenty seventeen when when we, you know, the the priority seems to feel more agreeable between the parties the priority seems to be. A little more central in terms of necessity some of the other issues that that that. Somebody called today. Those red meat issue. You know, the the reproductive rights and some of the the bathroom Bill. I just things like that that that maybe have taking kinda backseat really did take a backseat in in this speech or no mention of that. No mention of healthcare, you know. So it was definitely a different tone, and the Democrats that went asked about that today. But Democrats say well elections have consequences, essentially. And so I think this is a is a reaction to that that you know, he is trying to be a little more central in in the viewpoints in the priorities this session, going central governor. Greg Abbott, we have next stores west Rappaport with us at west rep there on Twitter in Rappaport reports is always advised him there on Instagram. I want to ask you about the centralists message of all of this has inklings of going right though. It if I'm upon tuna Varas or Trey Martinez Fischer in the legislature. I'm not feeling okay. About the state of the state definitely still leaning towards Republican platform. Oh, absolutely..

"And I guess I'm on that train and in as much as folktales that this is property tax relief reform, right? You know, I tell folks the biggest unfunded mandate in Texas is a criminal Justice coat. Okay. Your county jails all paid for by what property taxes? Okay. So when we force these counties to warehouses people in the county jails, and we don't have the tree. Treatment opportunities locally where they can get these people out in back functioning as individuals that is a that is an unfunded mandate. That is a county tax increase. Probably spurred on by the legislature. So that will be one. Also, I think we can do a better job and rehabilitate ING and being dignified with our Justice involved women, so we'll see some reform pieces there, and then some reform pieces on how we rea- billeted in re integrate the Justice involved back in charge communities. Seat now. Now, it's not the text line. It's my personal phone. That is okay is Halloween with people who are like, Amen, brother. Amen. Okay. Okay. People who may or may not work at Lubbock county level. Okay here James white with chairman. I do you are are you the only African American Republican in the legislature? I think so, and you know, I have some confidence. What in what you do with that? Because I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say, well, we must be thinking. I'm going to ask you what you think about wh-. What do I think about that? Well, I represent a great district back in east, Texas. I'm extremely proud and east rural district right east Texas rule district. I'm very proud of my constituents that they evaluated me didn't know me from anybody, and they and twenty ten they valuated my my body of work as schoolteacher as veteran and someone that wanted to serve and they elected me, and they have successively related reelected me five times. Some extremely proud of them. One part of these says. That the Republican party? You know, when you look at all the polling in minsters people like our policies, they like opposition point for some reason. Sometimes they just don't like the party. I don't know what that's about. But we have I should not be the only. Republican that happens to be black in the Texas legislature. We should have more Jiang's whites in the Texas legislature that Republicans more J M Lozanes more Andrew Jackson. But and that's really what that tells me that we've got a lot of work as Republicans and of because as you know, and I listened to you sometime Jay and guess sale is to Yalta. But I I listened to you just him. Okay. I listen to you. And let me tell you something broke of this state is diversifying at a rapid pace. Demographically, if we're going to stay competitive, we have got to broaden our reach as Republicans. We don't have the water down our message or anything, but we have to have some sensitivity to other demographic groups, we got the live people know that we love them that we care for them. We want them to be. Prospered prosperous, and we wanna go to work. He is chairman James wide. Appreciate the time. Hey, always bro from from the piney woods to the cap rock. There you go. I've been that I've driven that. I appreciate the expanse of this state in really appreciate the expansive. This interview Brichet to make. Hey, thank you. Thank you. All right. We'll talk next next. "That you wouldn't goes or not or are. Yeah. I would not go as far as Santa Fe or not regal put it like forget too. So what's it gonna take issue for you to write that litter deserve a lot of people? Here's what yet. Well, I think. You know, just thinking this. The timing might. So it AG does this and it takes its months we could be out of such. So we wouldn't have an opportunity to respond. If we got an answer that we thought we needed to we've in legislature. If we got an answer, we thought we need respond to we would have to wait until twenty twenty one right to I'm gonna just put it on the tape. I do not think it's face of it. I don't think this is illegal. Okay. And I have not had discussions with the office. I would just have concern if I asked a question in the AG came out and said, you know, based on his review of statutes, and at this go to court, you know, how they usually start out with right? You know, this would this would be an illegal substance. So I guess I would have to have some confidence that. I would think that I would get the answer that I think is really the right answer. And. My gut tells me that these products. Probably legal. Okay. Well, let's that's good enough answer. I just I know that there are plenty of people who are out there thinking the same thing is your good says, but they are in a chairman of a committee thing. Yeah, they're good send you're saying. There might be hauled away. You know? Yeah. Yeah. Yet. So it's just all the idea that and, you know, you'll you know, when when you get ready to told a lot of members that are chairman and chop net a bit to do a request. Where painting AJ you better. Make sure that you you kinda know the answer because you really never know man to write better make sure you know, the answer because you buy, and that's just all army thing. That's just a whole army infantile and thing you don't ask questions are the answer to US army veteran James Whistler at this. Here chairman of Texas house corrections committee. I've heard a lot of people say this. We got about five more minutes with you. I've heard people say that I was down in Austin the day that you gave a presentation to the Texas public policy foundation on reforms on Justice reforms that could be put in place. The I missed a dandy. That's what I was told till about what kind of criminal Justice reforms, you have in mind chairman. Well, you know and some of them I don't really think they're reformed. I think stuff we should we should be doing already. Real good sharp target will be looking at our state jail system. Now, here's the here's the neat thing about this Jay, and I know that you are historian of state politics. The state jail system was really our first criminal Justice reform piece in Texas, probably throughout the country. And I did that state jail would be this sort of intermediary incarceration system, it would encompass the small possession of control substances pity death band. Check writing obviously crimes or offenses that are driven possibly by an addiction, right? And that you would have this state jail system that was relatively close to. The Justice involved person's home at the state jail. You would get the rehabilitation you'll get the treatment, you know, job training, all of that type of stuff, and you would do no more than two years. Okay. And and like most government operations Jay kinda started off. Okay. And Sanat likened good thing, right? And over time due to a host of policy back. There's it's it's probably been just watered down where the state jail system is no more than another glorified incarcerations. Okay. So I did is we wanna make sure that we give our local communities are county attorney's our sheriffs of local criminal Justice chain, give them the tools and incentives to try what we call pre trial diversion program. Where you can rebuild Tate. Get folks the treatment closer to home in their home environment. Which all the research says by far has more effected, and and I just have to I just have to take this opportunity to do this. When those of us here at Allston are saying that we can sit local county and city and school district tax rates better than our friends at home..

"I mean, if all this is taken up in the emergency. So in the next month when you guys have lifted do. Well, as you as I think, I heard you articulate this WALE. At best at the haven't as an emergency item. It allows us as the legislature to hear bills earlier they could move faster, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they will pass them. But we bills that deal with those issues that are emergency items. We will be able to take those bills up now. Yeah. And that's what she gets do for the next month Representative James white with us, chairman of Texas house corrections committee tells what that committee does chairman. Well, thank you for that. It's a great committee. I'm really excited myself in the vice chair, we are five and seven of session detriments of this. We my seven session on the committee believe my vice chair, this will be her seven session. It'd be my fifth. That is. So we're excited about that. And and then, you know, Jay, we're extremely excited that the other seven members. There you are not necessarily new to the legislature. But all of our new committee, and we liked it idea. We liked idea new is getting there. Of new said is getting on the agency and redoing Florez the incarceration of felons in our state, but real quickly with this committee has a charge over is technically everything post conviction to release. That's what we deal with. So we obviously that Destin Carso ration- piece that involves Perec probation than involves parole that involves correctional health care and also includes the TD C J office of inspector general pre up prison rape illumination act and also deals with the special prosecution unit that prosecutes of those cases of that the allied g would use technically the police law enforcement arm of TD J of special. Prosecution unit. Investigate those cases, prosecute them in brings them trial. So it's it's a very important committee of the agency and total spans a little over seven billion dollars. Biennium? It is or TJ is Bokor Jay, the largest state employer in Texas. About thirty eight thousand t's just to show you. Breath in depth of that agency about thirty eight thousand if t the next largest agency of of staying government is MD Anderson and their little under twenty thousand eptein that stretched out over one hundred four incarceration units throughout texts. No, Weston chum on our text line here chairman. He's the chairman Texas house corrections committee when about CBD is CB de legal Certa hit you with curveball here. But is it ragle or illegal CBD oil right now welna, do I'm gonna do the office of expecter general dodge here, do you really wanna get a visual a known that send me a letter now could well, but my understanding is that. That I'm looked at this last week in there were groups out of DFW media groups who were lined up with the AG to ask about this issue. Because apparently there are people in Tarrant county are being arrested for it. But that leather asked to come from a government official. Will you be the government official who issues the opinion CBD will will when I would say as a member of the legislature. I've take a lot of I think I've done about three or four so far. I take a lot of thought before I send a request for an opinion from a to the G. I could take up six months to you kinda wanna figure out what you want your answer to be and three you you have to have some level confidence high level confidence that you're going to get the inserting from the AG 'cause you dad if you ask if you ask him or her a question. AG and you get an answer you're not pleased with guess what you bought the answer. So as a chairman, obviously, I do have that discretion to requests for attorney general's opinion, you know, thought about it off and on haven't really made a decision yet. I would say this the CV de product that intact that I in fact knows that is legal. And I'm not saying that the other products are not legal. I'm saying the one that I know that is legal and I signed onto that Bill is co-authored back in twenty fifteen. I believe was the will extract that many folks believe help own. Different illnesses, like epilepsy, specially juvenile epilepsy and know that has a legal status with a lot of restrictions. But I would not go as far as saying that the others are not..

"The sunny slope. Loan will. There. It is. Little lonesome dove for you here on February five thirty years ago. Can you believe it thirty years ago whenever we get him with west Rappaport state of the state address today, lots of is tonight on the state of the union the state of the state, what's it mean? And looking forward to really break in that down with west. And you know, what thing that I've begun to think about. Is how mixed up the messaging is. When you can't get a straight answer, you begin to wonder why. And you can't get a straight answer on this two point five percent rollback cap, and is it going to succeed or is it gonna fail in? We've talked about this in previous episodes. But there is an initiative now a house Bill two in Senate Bill to that would amongst other things lower. The rollback rate to two point five percent from the current eight percent of all taxing units with more than fifteen million in combined property and sales tax revenues. I think that there needs to be I don't play a political consultant. I'm not a political consultant. I should say that way. I just play one on the radio. I think the messaging needs to be from the two lower chambers or the lower chamber in the higher chamber. We wanna to reduce opportunity if we pour all this money in the public. Ed, six billion dollars twin six and nine billion dollars that other entities. Don't come in. And eat it up. If if it were message that way, I'm not saying, I'm on board with it. I'm just giving some practical advice. Somebody's very practical is Jane's white. We're gonna have him coming up right here on the other side of Texas stick with us about a couple of minutes from now get in with the chairman, James Wight. They're out of. Say agreeing. Do the stones. Bhagat?.
"All right. No particular order just get it out of the way at the beginning of the playoffs. We said we thought the patriots are gonna win the Super Bowl. We're going to stick with them. That's all. We believe football is simplistic. If you do not turn the ball over. If you do not get penalties and you protect your quarterback. You're gonna win a lot of games. Simple as that. New England doesn't turn the ball over protects. The quarterback does not have penalties. Now, of course that can change in a game. But past the precedent. I like him. I remember at the beginning of the playoffs. Nobody nobody. And it was something. I saw something. I watched they were getting better towards the end. We'll get what they get to play. The game New England's favored by two and a half. That's my game summary. If the New England turns it over three times different story. I think the important parts of the game. James white running back James white out of the backfield Sony. Michelle running out of the backfield. I think that's going to be important. Anyway, may the best team win and hopefully. Doofus referees or umpires whatever they call them in football. Don't screw the game up. By the way, I had mentioned this other thing I was watching. Roger Goodell was doing a does a conference a press conference every every year before the Super Bowl, and they asked them about collusion and Colin Kaepernick and why Colin Kaepernick is not in football. Well, the fact that a matter is Colin Kaepernick is better than. What do you have? How many teams are the Twenty-eight? Let's say this twenty eight teams. I think I'm close. That's probably fifty six sixty quarterbacks. I'd say he's better than twenty of them. I think he's better than some starters. I know team wants them. Because he's the story. He made himself the story Tibo he could have kept playing not pick them up. You know, why? Every press conference before every game. They were one hundred people asking Tim tebow questions and nobody else, and they have to weigh and measure is it worth it or not. And they decided capper Nick is Tom Brady. And that's that. And if I'm a team owner. To make a decision. Hey, nobody is wearing. In practice during the game. Picketing police says picks and playing for my team. Any collusion. Anyway, whatever just just make a note. I like the patriots. Big jobs report today, much better than expected. But they lowered last month. I guess it's going to be somewhat of an even Steven. But the number was very strong. You cannot argue against it one way or the other. And that's my bigger news. We'll do the market wrap and a little bit. Well, we're in the final hour the market we're pre taping. Because my schedule traveling such it's about three o seven PM. We will not take you to the end of the closer of the market

We are tied at three New England. And the Rams Jay's on I think it's on the Rams holding. I believe. Yeah. James white pass holding defense number twenty six. Automatic first down. Mark, barron. James white is so quick. And they let them get a little pivot route pushed two or three steps to the inside. And then separate Mark bear knew he was hurt or knew he was beat. So he reached out grabbed his shirt of of white on the way back out still was able to make the catch Sony. Michelle is in Brady will be under center from his thirty one yard line. First and ten edleman emotion. Pretty pitch one. John. Forty. He's he's inside. Sony. Michelle is moving well Joyner Texan down nineteen yard ping pong run. "And just how many opportunities are going to be there for the taking how successful they'll be. I almost feel like this is going to end up being a low scoring game that just the patriots end up grinding out with maybe a bunch of field goals maybe touchdown to James white decent amount of yardage for Sony. Michelle not a great game for Sony Michelle and really not a great fantasy production game a productive fantasy game. For everybody involved feeling. I'm going to buy into just because stealing sealant. But that's on the Minnesota side things and everybody starting him. Anyway. I'm not loving any specific patriot this week. He we talked about this on name that player yesterday in one of the rare times that I stumped. You. Juliette scored twelve or more PR points in every game that he's played this season him. And Josh, Gordon, you expect what from them. I think. Julia was going to score twelve or more fans. I don't think he'll score double digits in non PR. So he's really more of a flex for me, a non PR, he's a number two wide receiver and PR Gordon is the exact opposite. I I mean, I think there's a chance that he has one or two big plays. He probably get you that seventy yard Rangers right around where he's lived. And you hope he's a touchdown. I do like Ataman more than Gordon and Gordon Moore and non PPO, I will tell you this elements had at least ten non PR fantasy points in five of his last six games. So he's got a safe floor for non PR, and I don't mind as up in the slot. And again, if Brady's getting rid of the ball quick that works right into elements. I think he's the safest of the receivers that includes gronk, and then includes James white who seen struggle a little bit since everyone's been healthy and since the run game or when the run game has been going. All right, Cleveland and Houston the Browns, you know, playing well, two straight games. They won their first road game in the common era. Seems like forever that they finally went on the road and Houston is now one I think it's nine games for them. So Dave Brown side of things Baker Mayfield is he a starter job would expect from him Johnson. Is he someone you can rely on? And then is there any receiver you can trust the not necessarily Joko, but any receiver for the Browns you could trust. I don't mind a joke this week. I think he'll be okay. Houston's a tight end score them in three straight games. So I think the matchup favors joke, which means that there's one touchdown for Baker Mayfield. Can't he get to? I'm not sure if he can now he's he's had great protection from his offensive line. That's purely been the secret to why he's been so successful. But Houston's a totally different type of defense, and they will get after Baker Mayfield. I think it's gonna be tough for him. So I'm not I'm not feeling Baker this week. Maybe like a DFS tournament. I would take a chance on him figuring that no one else will. So I'll try and differentiate my lineup by going with Mayfield. But it's probably not going to be what I do which is an option. That I would think about if I wanna go big at other positions because I don't think he's that sheep anymore because he's been playing so well Chubb you're gonna start regardless. I don't think you can feel good about Johnson. I don't think you can feel good at all about Jarvis Landry ever since Nick Chubb is really become a thing. Jarvis Landry is taken a back seat. And then for you. He when we look at Houston. Lamar Miller is playing great one bad game in his last five that was against Denver when they're run defense turned the corner to Shawn Watson as I know you're well aware of twenty five or less attempts. And I think it's now six games in a row. The Andre Hopkins is getting his numbers, but they're trending in the wrong direction because of the targets and then we have last week's game with two Thomas. So you're Cessna the Texans this week against the Browns. You don't have a choice but to start Andrea. How considers it really matter where I rank him. I've got him ranked outside of my top ten wide receivers. And I did last week too. I just think that that when you're not throwing more than twenty five passes..

Get on Simmons case he hated James white about the set the the running back record for Recep. Congratulations. James Wade is fine whoever's been in. That's by people were like, oh, James white is so much better than chain variance. Shame very was good, man. We won the Super Bowl ashamed Brin chamber union. The Seattle game was absolute money for that whole second half. You know, I didn't Kevin Faulk was money to James white is a terrible runner is the problem. He's he's gaining gonna maybe set the record for your base. If US Brady's probably the MVP on the team. You. But my has at brakeman aspirant out my point is we throw to the to the running back all the time because we're gonna have a tight end anymore. Yeah. He used to throw he used to throw a tight ends. And he would have the slack is. And and then the running back coming out of the backfield, and he would spread it around. And now Ataman doesn't really get open the same way that that. He did he had like nine catches one hundred four yards. But they were all catches where there were guys draped all over him. It's just didn't seem like you rarely see him just flying open in the open-field. And then HOGAN, I'd I don't know what happened to him. I think he was replaced by an impostor. He was like better last year when he was nicked up and playing every other game, you know. But I think that I think they're throwing James Lloyd so much because he doesn't really have anyone else to throw too. So it's not like it's like in krill, Tennessee Bjork my team, then it'd be your team. I liked the on Lewis in D. Lewis was awesome last year for the. Down the stretch for the pats was our next game. But we didn't get Tennessee Indiana colts by three over Tennessee at in India. We both we both at three and it is three. Probably a stay away. But I want I want because I like the coasts by the road. We cover that have been a terrier a field goal. Oh, that's right. How long would that we even figure that out? Yeah..

Michelle is out over there in New England really there's only two healthy running backs left in New England. And if you're having James white, you probably are in trouble up there Delvin cook is out again for Minnesota. And that means that Lamont Murray is going to do very well hope to Lee for this against the saints. Leonard fournette is probably realistically out until thereby weeks up and we'll come back. Tens of you're sitting on Leonard fournette and hope he's gonna play each week, better luck next time. Theoretic is out again, kerryon Johnson over there in Detroit is definitely worth playing. If you've got him. He is a great match up, and he's kind of matchup proof at this point. Roy Freeman like we talked about earlier is out in Denver and that makes Lindsey available. Evvnt - How Event Tech Is Promoting Your Event Online
"About how the events industry and events technology or particularly how event technology isn't working and after six hundred and fifty episodes. Today's guest was an inspirational guide. I gotta talk for hours and offer. It was also telling me our Facebook of launch and events discovery app that nobody's downloaded and nobody uses. I just challenge everyone listening to that point, how many of you listening actually downloaded another Facebook. Gap for just events. I'm suspecting none of you have if you have let me know. So me a quick tweet at Neil see us. I'll be curious for quick show of hands of just how many people have that. And the point here is if Facebook can't get this, ROY is clear that the event discovery space is right for disruption, but who is going to have the right solution about brings me to today's guests who is Richard Green and here's the founder of events that slow e v and t and they've had over thirty thousand customers across one hundred thirty nine countries. And the company is also prepared to launch in the US having recently entered into an agreement for four hundred and fifty thousand investment from three major US newspaper groups, and I am conscious and have more than enough self awareness to know the Ibom Balji with different guests every day from different industries. And I suspect that you can't listen to each and every episode because all maybe certain industries just don't interest you. I will let you into a little secret today is a Muslim episode. One of the favorite guests I've had only show is a delight to speak with, and I think he's passionate just really comes through and everything that he says. So bookl- up and hold on tight. So I can beam your ears all the way to London. So we can speak with Richard Green from event. So massive, welcome to the show Richard. Can you tell the listeners a little about who you are and what you do? My name is Richard Green on the CEO and founder of a six year old company called events. Eatable vnc dot com. On our technology is really about unbinding and servicing the events industry with a foldable, local events, marketing and local event discovery. That's what we do is this. So like you said. Him based tech startup, which is the unique event marketing automation software. So can you just say no, and tell me what it is that you guys are doing differently in the kind of problems out too. So you I can tell you the story that we've evolved around an average events. Organizer are will submits an event to a ticketing company or a listing side. And on average, they'll put their event on between eight and ten listing signs in an effort to get the revenge from a consumer audience. Make sense. I have an event listing sites, so where community and uses all its best post. The reality of of this is a lot of endlessly sites. Don't have a YouTube Ma traffic when you break it down to location category and dates. So what we did is we are fold that model. We allow from a single submission and events organizer to submit their event. One, we have over three and a half hours and listening SCI fi ninety six percent of all listing sites worldwide, and we allow someone to submit event wants to our application. We then filter out every event listings that once and should take that content and then we publish distribution. What does that really mean? Well, why putting an event on all listing site, she reach a maximum community of Ben consumers that are looking for events, but how the world really changes is that when you place content on so many listening sides. So quickly, Google identify that content very quickly and we deliver somewhere between thirty and seven percent ipad you Google pages, two, three, four, and five because we're delivering high quality, local events, content through credible events listing site. So the marketing impacted back Timothy is very, very, very, very strong. Phenomenal. It really as and when researching you guys, I quickly learned scalable technology event creates a campaign mocking activity to ensure individual offense appear on over three thousand five hundred event listing. So it's. But since you launched in two thousand twelve, you've also have thirty thousand customers in one hundred thirty, nine different countries. So tell me more about this phenomenon of success and any challenges around scaling your business just short space of term. Well, actually the success is something that yet you try that success is the story is something you try not to do. The story is that you would normally focus in single vote on a single town and you try to very competent within that within industry. What happen for us as we went after the local events market and we tried to get London UK for the events in this. And what happened was that the conference exhibition and trade show industry? It would physically had teams of people posting that conference in exhibition information on so many listing sites because they had more. Time in that more money and resources faith, they spotted us, and I was contacted by a gentleman name, James white keep, but she's one of the big firms and he said, could you could you build this for us in the for our organization? "Chris, be careful with. We because he wouldn't concern how concerned you know executive, then we can knew the undefeated dolphins team wasn't what everybody was saying that where in that New England was at some point going to get back to ARC's around. But Bill check looks at September extended preseason. And that's exactly what this team used that month four in terms of being able to establish an identity and how we wanna play. And I think now that you have the full complement of weapons that Tom Brady has. Now, I think that you'll start to see this develop that that chemistry that report, Tom Brady talked about it in terms of trusting Josh Gordon when he threw it up into double coverage, Josh Gordon was able to make that play. But when you see the effect of having Eshelman and Josh Gordon out there with rob gronkowski, it opens up things for everybody else. You look at that James white touchdown catch look at what ninety good was doing. He was supposed to be on James white. He's moving away from James white to war Julian Adam. And just because Dooley. Women have been targeted so much in that game. It was wide open on the angle route, but that's what Eshelman does for a lot of those guys creates opportunities. You keep the defense off balance and Tom Brady is able to identify where he wants to go with the ball accuracy velocity gets there, right? You don't believe this is one of the better patriot offenses, but you you've kind of expressed it with the new rules alike with Tom Brady plan. Now, it's there's only a certain number ways how you can attack them like your mode of going at the Tom Brady, they've outlawed that right, like you believe in going through the the quarterback in half, there is no more that you can't do that anymore. That's what the defensive line coach is used to tell us when I came in the league in two thousand five, there is no more of that. You gotta do the gator roll like with Aaron, Donald does and try to turn off to the side to make sure you don't fall on the quarterback, but with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, unless you're able to intimidate him with the physicality of the game, then Tom Brady is going to sit back there and he's going to pick you apart. We know that he's one of the most mobile quarterbacks inside. Pocket. But if you don't have the threat of the physicality to throw off his timing accuracy with his receivers, there's no chance that you're going to have to stop that. So I said he played forever if he were already absolute, can't hate them. Shoot another three years. That's fifteen. Crystal later in the show coming up kyri Irving said he'll be with the Celtics long-term, but should we believe him next on first thing. Keys starts the break with the block land. Stevenson rewards in with the nice pass for the dunk gives us a little chimney everyone folks on land, but zoo watch. That's fundamental basketball gets up on one in rim run to the other way to reward your big man for running the lane. Actually, the pass is just fundamentals too, but he puts. I finally Pacers visiting the rockets miles turn as a pass down. Low puts marquees Chris on a poster. He was not good in the playoffs. Last year was miles Turner. He can be one of the best centers in the Eastern Conference. He has the talent. He's got the size, got the skill set. They need big things from him this year, and he was emerging a couple years ago, maybe took us half a step back lassie's, especially in the postseason that's series against the Cavs was bad for him. I moving onto what will undoubtedly be very dramatic NBA season KAI Irving is preparing for his second season with the Celtics, many speculated. This might be his last season in a Boston uniform, maybe going to the Knicks or even the nets to team up with another superstar. However, Kyrie tried to put those rumors to rest guest yesterday he told Celtics fans, he plans on re-signing with the team neck. You believe him. I one hundred percent believe Kyrie Irving. That he woke up this morning, believing I wanna be a Celtic for life. I'm going to resign..

"In terms of the second running back spot. Another guy you can go with would be. Looking at James white on the patriots. Also, I like Christian McCaffrey of the Panthers to me that those would be the other alternatives because, like I said, Connor is going to be such a chalk pig by most people. If you're playing cash games. Yes, you play games Connor. If you're playing tournament. I, I got a, you know, I just don't see enough separation playing James Connor debt. That's that would be my fear. So while I have some lineups with James Caan are in it. So James Connor will be to substitute for insomnia, cash game Lila's for outs Collins of the ravens. Again, Alex Collins is a play here today on both fan Doolan draftkings because of the fact that it is hot garbage. They're going up against in buffalo and the raiders are going to be up so big that they play ball control. And can just run out the clock. Just because of how bad Buffalo's off it's going to be today. So. You know, that's where I got to look at it. It's it's case where I get the fascination being so cheap. He's that's a cheaper on draftkings infanta which is surprising, but he's forty, five hundred on draftkings five grand own fan Bill that will not happen going into next week guaranteed at James. Connor is gonna be somewhere in the seven to eight grand range on both websites. Once it recalibration. I think that'll be an over correction, but that's a, that's what I'm expecting to happen. So believe me, I get the play. I just don't agree with it. So with that being said. If we move on to the wide receiver spot, Antonio Brown business is definitely booming again playing Cleveland Browns. This is a also matchup for the Steelers. I look at this from standpoint off, so just getting right down to the Steelers offense is going to be focused on Tonio Brown. So if the Steelers struggle and Twitter Browns not going to be putting up twenty plus points. Today. But you know, again, if the seals offense is struggling that much. You know, I know the weather is not going to be the greatest up out there. Big Bank in flinging, any type of winter situation. So to me, it's more of a stance that you know Cleveland's not going to respect the run game. We're going to focus on the past game. So again, that technically opens the door for John Connor. So I get the ownership at that point. But to me, I still say at Tonio Brown is the play here. The Steelers are going to force feed that ball into Brown as much as they can. So to me, I would still say Antonio Brown is to steal old over. James counter, but. It could end up being a situation where it just the game plan breaks down, but I will go AB on this one. Other wide receivers to take a look at strongly. I would say, Keenan, Allen you. You played Philp wears, you pair them. We'll fill burgers. Other guys, you know, I would say, take a look at Chris ogan. I think he has an opportunity to play well today he's going to be the number one wide receiver. I would kind of lean towards Chris HOGAN there, but the number one option on the pats, just so you know, the number one in the passing game for patriots is gonna be grunk. So like I said, the two place here today, it's going to be ravens D. And gronk. That's it the I'm getting ahead of myself, but it's like you find money elsewhere in your lineup to fit fit these guys at. But I would absolutely say you gotta be playing a gronk today. If you're playing any pets of you stack in Brady with someone, gronk has to be in there. And I would also put in HOGAN or James white, all four by bid. A stretch, but gronk definitely would be in there because even though he's a tight, I treat them like a wide receiver. It's like your fourth wide receiver pretty much. So other wide receivers to take a look at I, I would say AJ green, like I said, the matchup that he indulged in have you can't pass those up -tunities up..

"It's it's not a great overall receiving court certainly good enough one when you put tom brady in that system in having run everything but if we're talking about new england controlling games winning schematically they're going to do it with their running backs now it's james white extracts birkhead and then of course sony michelle they drafted in the first round which tells you they value that position and it's probably james devlin a little bit fullback back to my conversation with shannahan not to reveal too much we were just talking but he said when you can do stuff for the fullback that gives you that much more than two tight ends because fullbacks are that much more threatening in the running game members point was the more you can do in the running game the more predictable you render the defense so maybe james devlin becomes the the x factor rather than the mar the guy that patriots are hoping the martellus bennett the number two tight end the extra flex guy there what what show manahan does we kyle us check and what the patriots do a devon they'll just flex some anyway and use chen's unique because he's good enough to win he'd be probably number one if we did a fullback show yes good enough to win in the passing game at times devlin's not though but if you just we're gonna flex them around anyway because when we flex them it has a reverberating impact on everyone else and we liked that reverberating impacted when it means that that's the approach you've got to find a way to make the defense honor the run to the fullest and then throw the ball from there and fullbacks can do that and maybe new england does that even more this year yeah look it makes sense that's why they went out and got a collie hugh shake with with one of their first moves after after chain and got their last off season that's a that's a wrap that's a rep for the i should say that's a wrap for the position rankings part of the show we still have of course the lightning round which begins right now this first one we should just call this first one for this position eighths it's the fantasy door question better.

"And um they ran at sixteen times totalled the only ran the ball seven more times after that because brady began to get his footing uh james white was running the ball broncos catching the ball brady was doing brady like things which is weighing in and around and finding your weak spot and gillette type things were happening like ofensive pass interference calls three in out in the tennessee titans after brady had tied the game and then went brady took a fourteen seven lead the first ever instance i've ever seen of a play blown dead on fourthdown regardless of down at this is never seen a play blown dead for uh for for all start let's huddle up oh it's a it's a neutral zone fraction first down i asked brockman i as i am navrodi nap i asked everybody the nfl network the next day for pro football hall of fame analysts two scouts that are part of our organisation have you ever seen that high school college pros the answer was no but it you've got us to even with the fresh start a downs brady still inside his own twenty still got to stop them from going all the way down the field and they could and the titans lose and michael archies out of a job today one week after his owner gave a vote of confidence so there's that will hit that on our show that was saturday to topseeds win so sunday was all about who gets to go visit them on divisional on no championship sunday and man oh man oh man.
