Steelers’ Perfect Season Comes to an End With Loss to Washington

"Or game tonight. The undefeated steelers hosting the washington. Football team ben. Roethlisberger and alex smith go and head to head. Second quarter all steelers early. James washington to catch the steelers while received some of the best in the business with run out the catch all been has to get the ball in their hands. They know exactly what to do with it. Fourteen nothing pittsburgh. Meanwhile from the comeback player of the year alex smith. That's the last thing we want to see bleeding profusely after being cleared. It's the other leg to quick nap. Critical moment final seconds of the first half of the clock. Ticking down. Alex smith getting sacked on a third-down play. No timeouts left the trying to run the field goal team out but the clock is going to be stopped by the officials and this may have been sneaky from alex smith. this sneaky. good better and move by. Alex realized that he doesn't have any time outs left and if they used the ball in play to probably not going to be able to get the feel law so retards off with the football. They got to stop the clock in the points. Before the you take a look. Ron rivera's yelling everybody's yelling but we're going to show it to you here. Watch alex smith again. Sneaky veteran move the official saying. Give me the ball. Alex smith is saying. I got other ideas. He takes that one himself. They have to look. He's laughing he knows. Exactly what is doing common knows what he's doing and in the end it results in three medical points. Dustin hopkins forty nine yards. It's up it's good. Fourteen three at the have a little momentum shift now oakland drive of the third smith. Watch cam simms. This might have been the biggest play for the washington football team in this game. And don't just take my word for mike. Tomlin talked about this after the game. Felt like he was a real turning point thirty yards on the catch and run a big first down in that would lead to this. How about logan thomas to the one converted quarterback out of college logan thomas with some great hands being able to get down to the one he's really turned into a professional title. They were punching in premier. So fourteen steelers fourth quarter at seventeen ten at smith. It's thomas wide open worldwide. That's a busted covers right there but don't fault the waas to football team alex smith to taking advantage of the miscues by the steelers. So we're all even now the steelers of a fourth and one on the twenty eighth. They're kick chris. Boswell is out the rookie. Matt right is there. And so mike tomlin elects to go for it a throw was to anthony mcfarland his miscue there and the washington football team takes over on downs and that leads to. This happened this catch. This is a big time catch right here by camps and being able to survive the ground one handed grab pressure situation. Can't do it any better than that. That's a big first down later in the drive. Dustin hopkins from forty five away at the first looks. It's going to hook but then it hangs and it's good to washington up twenty two seventeen but mike tomlin had used his timeouts. Well they will going to have plenty of time. But there's no time when this happens a no deflections your the game washington. Football team's defensive line. Being able to get their hands in passing lanes four passes from that group to reaper. For montesquieu it'll be no perfect season. Washington wins

"In a test of the Illinois emergency alert system. This system was developed to provide information to the public during emergencies. This was a test. Was Pittsburgh, grabbing an early leave snow to Ben's right shotgun snap throws it to the left side. The end zone touchdown. Coming back to the sideline is Deante Johnson, his fifth of the year for Ben. Another fine sterling effort of 26 touchdown thrown by the veteran from Miami of Ohio five minutes into the game Steelers with the lead on Washington, Pittsburgh. Would be stuffed on a goal line stand halted there, but they would hold Washington with three and out, get the ball back and boom Ben in the gun throws it to the left flat. James Washington and he steps on the one steps out of two isn't the 2015 10 into the end zone for a Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown of 55 yards. Washington made Kendall Fuller Ms. Then made the free safety Everett Miss. And the rest is 55 Yard History Steelers with a 14 Nothing lead in the first quarter. The calls on w. Giving and extending the lead. On being Pittsburgh, trying to muster something late, then floats it for Ebron. He catches it as tackled inbounds on it's down to 54321. And that is your football game. Ladies and gentlemen, not a good ending for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and certainly not a good second half. They turn a 14 3 lead into a six point loss. That's the end of the game with the final score. Washington 23 Pittsburgh 17. The Steelers unbeaten run has come to an end. Believe VVe with the call Washington A 23 17 win over Pittsburgh Washington first win against a team with a winning record this season. Coach Ron Rivera. You know, inspired of some of the decisions I made today. You know, they played their, uh, this really does rank up there just because the fact you know who we beat would be the men. Pittsburgh. You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers that you know that that's one of the stories franchises as well on this leg of so come in. And when you know that was big for our guys real proud of the Washington with its first win against the team, with that least 10 wins since beating the Cowboys, who at the time had 13 wins in 2007. Washington Curly, the second seed in the NFC East Giants on the head to head tiebreaker in the division. Steelers, meanwhile, suffer their first loss of the season. "Going on now much trying to get to these times. We've also we've been doing this. Podcast for ten months and I like I told you. I'm a diehard ravens. Fan Aves Eagles Fan so we have got no beef got no beef but not a ton. But there's we have Boston Scott on. We've had zero Ravens and now we have a second steeler on the pot. I don't know why I keep doing this myself. We have Benny on. Benny's awesome third. We Oh we had ike. Lhasa retired steeler. We got way too. Many steeler ties here. But we are excited to have you You said you're down in Texas dataman hometowns going for Texas right now. Nice we saw. Yeah let me. Chime in here Jack. So this is what I do with everyone from Texas on our podcast but James did you grow up of the NFL. Like in general aboo. Did you have a year so I'm actually probably two and a half hours from Dallas? So I grew up watching the cowboy. So that's what I was hoping you wouldn't say because every person that we've had on from Texas my first question to them is where you race correctly or however I asked you I said cowboys fan so but now I understand I nine so as my learning you were raised correctly since you were raised a cowboys fan and it was almost like I was raised in to it. You Know Family. Watch it so I'm there to listen. I don't WANNA I don't WanNa dull our audience because the sad story growing up as a cowboys fan and they were good. Listen Man I just did break of the day. I on behalf of the snapback. Podcast I apologize for you being washed. James. I'm curious because I went to ut in you played in the big twelve and you're from Texas when you were being recruited and you're looking at colleges with Texas on your list. What why did you end up where he did so growing up? I actually wanted to go to Texas tech so I had a couple of buddies who season tickets is gonNA take games and not. Everybody popped up on my radar. I mean I've always thought was a good school but I've never really wanted to go there But I went to a few camps at tech. You know they never offered me then. One day out of the Blue Casey Mistake Cosby. Say Someone Stadium and wanted to come up for a visit and they offer them better spot. Yeah never looked back and ran with it yeah and he ran away from Texas. Db's for years to come far. We have a lot of troubles recruiting in state. I don't know why it seems like it should be the easiest part of what we do but we pass up on pretty much anything the big blue blood we are back. Texas has trouble recruiting. It's why we're getting good classes now but we can never actually get pliers. I don't know it's a very interesting such yours. Yeah we do we just never turnout like NFL. Stars like yourself. That's the only difference. That's what we're But being the taxes I know you are a big like Texan ranch left to do that so I had never heard of it but I want to present it to the audience because we talked to Joe read who's from UVA's gone into the draft and he taught me about frog. Gigging is frogging a hobby of yours. It's actually not mine but I I. I'm familiar what he's talking about. So basically you get like a trumpy Jig or something just kind of throw by frogs kind hot like a bug or something no usually just latching onto my huckleberry stuck man. He just pull them in. But my way frog jake and his going out on the bank with twenty to shoot them. Look if I don't eat them. Speaking of eating frogs I went on vacation and over over the new year and I was doing this thing where I was. I was in Mexico when I was like all right. I'm on vacation. I love food. I'm going to try something new at every dinner. I have every night and on the last night I saw frog legs for on the menu now I was like Oh not again knows. They were so fire. They're like chicken. Waste centrally you. Don't eat them yourself. No Man I I couldn't I couldn't make myself why do you? What are the ranch stuff that you do? Because there's a lot of different options. Well I mean you can have homegrown beef You lot of venison deer hunting. I actually just started l. Probably a month and a half two months ago so I got quite a bit of an. Oh Yeah it's it's there's no fat all. How did you know that? Because I'm familiar with me. I didn't realize you're familiar with L. I didn't realize I mean meat. Meat is meat is meat but James so you remind me of one of my favorite players in the NFL Carson. Wentz have you ever discussed the hunting and and farm life? Because he's really big into that too. No I haven't but I've heard from a guy that knows him. Pretty good says he's he's a big dog. Yeah he. He's always posting photos of him with about forty dead. Geese or gear match right there. Are there any team? Two years who are big hunters. I know actually being a big name finished. You're pretty big hundred. There's a I think Dave decastro one hundred to quite a few guys on the team and Duck Devon Hodges too so it was that was he thinking like maybe you have beef because you know he wants no pun intended. He won't. He's the duck he wanted to be like the STAR. Hunter of the team. You thought you are. Maybe he stops targeting you like. Did you have to have that conversation? No we got along. Pretty good we He kinda showed me the ropes under kind of a little bit. But I'm more of a president hunter. 'cause that's about all. I have to do you know one. Football season's over cowed is and Bob Cats but He he wants me to kind of teach them a rope tonight so maybe one day. I'll get them down here in Texas so you brought up pig bad and now he's actually a Anton thing. What is the last time you actually saw? Big Ben Probably in January. Which was the last time I've been in Pittsburgh? Are you aware what he lost like? Oh yeah what's going on with that who you can mistake for in the woods and by accident you know. Have Little Big Ben for dinner. It's cool to be honest with you. I kind of like. I wish I could grow a beard and a lumberjack. Right gene. Something I need to know something because I told you a Benny on so. Tell me something about Benny Smell. That he didn't tell us because he was trying to play. Cool on the podcast so that we can go make fun of him for. He said he said he he makes music. So if you wanted say it's music crash than now but now I have it honestly. I have heard his music. But I've heard Kinda like freestyle with like name's Connor and James Jameson. But he seems to be pretty good but I did hear that. He's like really good at call of duty. Yeah he he wants hype himself. Do you play any KAT. I'm pretty good. I'm all right I guess. Do you think there's any relation twenty million biddy now between like plank hall duty and then actually going outside and shooting animals OFA sued. I'd like to think of myself as a junior. Chris Kyle incredible line. That is unbelievable. I think too I mean man. What about this? This you play call of duty. But I saw a tweet that you were mentioned and you were playing a video game but it was really just a farming simulator where you are literally just like care of the farm but in a video game you want to touch on that a little bit. It's really all I got was farming simulated nineteen and I was playing a game one day and I had my front door unlocked. Zack Benner this walks over there and open my door. And he's like. Oh you're not when I'm like what are you talking about? And he's like you're really farming. Tv What about that was. Yeah I was GONNA say like we all grew up around. Warrenville on facebook was like. You're game yes I did actually play that back when it came out. I play the for quite a few years to pretty good for a while. They kind of got away from it. What makes a good farm? Ooh That's a good question depending on what you're doing if you're GONNA if you're gonNA compare your farm to a player in the NFL in terms of where they're in the Li like if they have room to grow if they're already at their peak. How does one get a good farm and which? Nfl player most resembles your farm. We'll start that right now So really I don't have any like agriculturally it's basically just like you is basically. You could just have five or six Cadillac Day. 'cause most people feed if you've got a pretty good soil composition and the ground you can grow some pretty good grass own. Just kind of a grazing about grace is trying to do this. In my head. Soil and composition underneath the ground. We'll compare that to offensive and defensive lines continue So basically it's like a what do you say this So it's like the nitrogen all that kind of stuff in the ground the minerals. 'cause sometimes you're GONNA have to assault a you'll have their ground but there's ways to fix it. You can put like liquid fertilizer down and it'll help help the grass or whatever you got their growing but ways around it..

"Kicked. The ball in terms of kickoffs does a good job. What's it gonna take for you to not ought be a nervous wreck like i am whatever he's lining up to kick a field goal because one preseason game is not gonna do it first game winner. Oh god that's the first game winner <hes> but but i think i mean my memory is short with baas baas kick the ball so well that first year <hes> <hes> when when he really was one of the most important factors that dim going thirteen and three you know my memory is short. I think baas i mean i. I don't know i think baas was just in a funk doc. I think he had golfer. <hes> you know the hips i think he just had the the gifts. Last year was in a bad place. Mentally you know when guys are motivated and they wanna eat each stake instead of sirloin. You know you can see the best okay. The hips can end people's careers to see now. Yes hopefully it was baker. Fitch ian baker finch terms have not necessarily gives the losing swing david duval corey pavin. They all went so there are a lot of gophers but anyways. Let's give back to football. I'm gonna give you another name and i know that ali who's a regular in the live chat. He is always he's always busting my chops because i always bring up james washington but it's via turned to say i thought james washington played extremely well tonight and and this is from dobbs andrew off. I'll get to those two guys of sure and a second but i was super impressed with washington's. He didn't just catch the deep ball he he also had the nice. I thought that toe tap would have been really awesome. If you go to made the touchdown catch me at the back shoulder touchdown from rudolf he worked over the middle middle he took a big hit got up. He caught the pass. I loved his versatility. I think he's going to i'm not saying he's gonna beat out moncrieff. He's going it'd be pushing him and i think that's a good thing. The steelers know how to pick receivers last year proven to be just craziness all-round and i think he's settling in what do you think about that lance. I'm go even farther jeff and this could be a little show wager that we can have marked the tape. If you're in a live chat. He's he's gonna beat out moncrieff. Oh okay he's going to start you know when he looked like he looked like a confident football player. He looked like a guy. That was the second round draft pick. That was an awesome player in college against guys that he knew weren't as good as him and he made them. Look that way and that's what you wanna see. When you have a highly drafted guy a guy that your banking or when they play against guys that might be backing groceries you make them look like like guys that might be bagging groceries and i was most impressed with his. Would he caught the football. He caught the football. There was no movement in his hands ends. They were solid confident catches his use of body control even in the run game when he was blocking on the edge everything he did with the purpose and he looked looked extremely confident and if he comes in plays like that with the addition of marguerite than it is what it is this offense can get it done. Okay okay. So what is your next person on your list. I'm gonna go with because you said rudolph you. I didn't say rudolph yet. Well yeah yeah. That's right your character jeff. I'm not going to steal your thunder. Go go ahead. Go go ahead and talk. Yes talk about your guy. Go ahead confers. Let me say that. I thought all three quarterbacks had really good moments tonight. "So that's that's pretty good. So all of a sudden you're going to lift up that defense would just a new. New swagger to it. Like, it's not even swagger. It's just attitude a harder nose to it. We are the Steelers. I think you're gonna see that new mentality and on offense. I still say. They got weapons they got juju. They got James Washington. They took last year. I think he will emerge ally. Roger they got big been. They signed Dante Moncrieff they got Vance McDonald. And. Very good. Very good. James Connor Jalen sames who ran wild on the patriots. And then in the fourth round, they took Benny Snell out of Kentucky. He was first team. All SEC two straight years. He was MVP of the Citrus Bowl for what it's worth. But he is five eleven to twenty four. He is a sledge hammer. He is a short yardage. Bowling ball. That's what he is. So you got three who can all do different thing. Right. You have an all purpose. And I I mean. mean, let me think gee, you got three guys that all do something different. When you had one guy that did all that. I think you latte up. I think three will legal one three all wanna play. They wanna play hard. He's he goes down also say that the in Tony run day. What he did? He's gotta grow from this. He works extremely hard. He extremely talented. But things get minimized. You'll minimized it up things. Get minimized you minimize it by allowing him. Sometimes skip. I I know know it it is. is likely I don't, but you got to send a message. You said you said to Antonio Brown. Antonio you're so talented kit. That's an unforgivable. There's a reason why they do not let the media in who pays the bills. But networks the FOX's in the CBS the ESPN the NBC they don't allow them in for fifteen minutes afterwards. There's a reason why skilled things get said. It's an emotional time in there that that's supposed to be Fakri. Okay. And he takes it live. So speaking Antonio Brown. I believe next year. He will be the unsung MVP of the Steelers. He has taken so many parting shots at them that I think he has lit fires all around the Steelers locker room under all kinds of players. I think been is going to come back with purpose. This time Ben is not going to be able to rest on any laurels. He had a very good year last year, but he has been called out by Antonio Brown. And I told you he's my early. Pick for indie p because he's still writing. I think he's still in the middle of his prime at thirty seven. I'm being Rosberg care about Antonio Brown. Calling me out the root is called him up over the pig. Fifty million dollar check. That's who called him out. So I heard about Antonio Brown. They worry about none of that though. The Rooney's back me, the Rooney said, your I got they're gone. Okay. There's a whole lot of talk coming out of Cleveland, and it's going to resonate in the Steeler locker room because they still consider themselves the kingpin of this. Right. Yep. They just do. That's how they were built. That's how they were taught. And I think they are quietly simmering, and they can't wait for their two games against Cleveland. Next shaking being who owes shaking bake which one is that Obama, maybe his down OJ Jarve shaking. Really? Okay. You put them fees them. So you mean, the guy that that you said shouldn't be the first overall pick out here. Ancient history. Ancient history. It happen. It happens. You know what I'm saying? I mean, sometimes it might not be the first met one is I. But he heels now, so he happy you can't get caught on what you wouldn't know this. House. House kind of an intimate details. "So that's disappointing. How do I not? Where's my blue? Oh, there you go. All right. Emails from Alex half. PBR? Choose two out of three Kenyan Drake. Jarvis Landry Curtis. Samuel. Landry's the must. I I think I would have to go with Drake ahead of Samuel. Because of the quarterback situation that is taking place in cackle is this the kind of person this poor Alex fellow who you recommend looking at James Washington or Calvin really your mama too. Sure. Yeah. Who who would? Who would be my favorite out of that group? Yeah. I guess really carries. The most upside. Yeah. Unfortunately, he's the most own, but yeah. So then CENA would be next. Here's Derek dear lati-, gray, Ferrari, blue steel and magnum. Those zoo Lander looks it's what I thought twelve PR league tough choice. Choose three of these four Chubb mixing five three five Chubb mixing Lindsey cook and Samuel's I'm going with job. I'm going with Lindsay, and I'm going with cook from JC Erz stills or Robbie Anderson standard scoring. I believe I've urged the highest of the three it is a very close call between him and Roberto Spencer in Nebraska, Robbie Anderson or Stefan Dix. I I am down. I pick underdog at my championship Anderson or digs PR. And he mentioned in the Email that he's worried about Darius slay covering digs. What we noticed last week was that digs and deal. And we're moving all over the formation. Whereas sleigh is probably gonna just stay either one side or he'll take whoever's on the outside between digs dealin. I would go with digs. This is from Dave from Ontario. Dear adamant wreath. It's funny. He's not here. But it's funny half PR. My. For my first title by home league. I need this win. I am facing Mahomes, and I own Kelsey knowing that I have Samuels as well. Would you start Ben Rothlisberger? Or Shawn Watson will bend comes down to juju. Smith Schuster p plays. I'd go with him. If we don't know his status by the time the game starts, I'd go to Shawn Watson. I might even feel good about going with the Shawn Watson. Anyway. Okay. I'm put watching in my lineup and not even look for juju news and coming around on that knowing I will be at a wedding with my opponent Saturday afternoon during the game. Should I start the titans or the Browns? The titans, but as other to do at the wedding. Dear Pat, Todd, devante and Travis. Pat Todd, maybe those are players on his team. I hope. Padma home, surely, oh, I bet they're they're number one at each position. Sean, Sean of the windy city. Where's that? Somewhere in the mid west. I don't I don't know any cities. They're PR league. I have Ingram Sony Michelle for net and Elijah McGuire. Who should I start PR Ingram Michelle for net McGuire, and you only need one of these guys. Yes, sir. Well, you're gonna go with the one that you knew you would start your fancy championship all along, and that's Elijah McGuire twenty touches in consecutive games. Over seventy percent of the snaps catches a few balls works. The goal line. Great matchup against Green Bay. I think the jets win by the way. Well, you know, they've you know, what I'm thinking, that's our bonanza. So I thought that that was a bold bonanza. It is. It is not every bonanza call you make has as much owns this is what you said last week when I went with the forty Niners Seahawks. Yeah. You're you brought up the grapefruits and consecutive week. Yeah. As someone once said, okay. The Email now I have no name or city here. He says, hey, Peralta, boy, Jeffords and Holt and his Brooklyn nine nine very big fan. I need to start to running backs. I have to choose between Nixon Nick chub and Chris Carson in PR. I'm I'm sitting Nixon. Okay. I'm worried about his game script the most. I'm worried about the matchup for in the most from Logan Spencer, whereas in not gonna soom Spencer whereas in this weekend because he probably isn't. So now choose to and PR James white Kevin Coleman Gus Edwards, Damian Williams. I'm going Williams and Coleman, and I might go that way, even if Spencer where had a miraculous recovery, and we knew about it before kickoff on Sunday from again..

"But that is sixteen players out of sixteen thousand five hundred eighty six and Big Ben in Philip rivers are obviously two of them. I take that. It is a fun up. I mean, great to see these two guys going at it. This is one of those I want to start the way too early version Rothlisberger have been playing on their teams or a long time a long long time. I mean wouldn't be li- manning be another one too. Same drive e. I like that forever. Evidence suggests sees a third Antonio Brown's not having an Tony Brown season. He's fourteenth right now in the. I thought I thought it was telling Vance Joseph said after the game they were determined not to let Brown beat them. And that Steelers still threw at him. And it did help them the way that they threw out him thirteen times for sixty one yards. He's been extremely inefficient had way more targets than Smith Schuster for the year. But as two hundred fewer yards, and I think it's a lot is going to have to come down on Rothlisberger. Just trusting Smith sister who's getting done and their third receiver. Because those guys are just getting easy matchups won and one match. He's got tight ends on pace for eight hundred yards. Right. Yeah. One other Antonio Brown note, his numbers. What by the way are still very good. They're just not at that level as a touchdowns. Yes. He also is the wide receiver leads le- you can targets but also the receiver. That's had the most uncatchable ball thrown his way as well. So so has been suspended the he's playing. I just think it's not a fishing connection games are sending two two guys at him every single place. So they monstrous numbers that juju. Smith is putting up are in some degree because internal Bram is growing so much absolutely. Sorry has a store though. He he's every five years. They find a new guy who's going to be there forever. And I don't think James Washington is going to be that guy. Keep an eye on the running back position on both sides. Obviously Melvin Gordon out James Connor last three games. There's numbers of kind of tick downward is you're gonna bounce back and have a big game. Or did he peak? This is the game for him against the chargers defense without Denzel Perriman. This is the game for him Monday night football. Let's pick that game you pit you locked up. I was lucky enough to St. I think west is gonna win that lock. I think it's going to be Steelers like twenty eight to twenty four type deal. I want us to be kinda into. I'm torn. It because I want I don't want the patriots to get a BI. But I also don't think the charges will catch the chiefs. So they're not going to get a buy. I buy that logic. Even though I want the chargers to win. I'm going to pick. I'm just going to pick the charges now because that's what I want to happen. And there's no repercussions in this little picks six, I don't know. If I believe it help. I I that's what I'm rooting for. I'm rooting for the chargers. All right. The Redskins are six and five a two game losing streak has cost them. Their sole possession of first place in the NFC east the traveled to Philly to face the eagles. Mark who came back on the giants wiped out a fairly large deficit, but the giants legitimate. So you don't want to get too. Crazy. Eagles got to win this game to stay in the race or its Bye-bye. Yeah. And I don't believe in the eagles at this point. Really at all. I think they're essentially capable of being annoying enough to do their part to ensure that we get someone coming out of the NFC east as an eight and eight playoff team destined for total employees. So that does mean that they will win this week. And that does me, and I'm going to lock up the eagles that I don't believe in. All it's mistake. Maybe, but you know, what I think will probably win too. So it's not it's just it's a hard move to lock up a team. You don't believe in. I've done that before. And then you you kill yourself. If I think we're gonna I almost did. I almost went Steelers. But I also think this takes me out of any sort of emotional lock scenario on Sunday, which I did for the three of you certainly does..

"Like does that not tell you that someone is not thinking properly is not making smart decision is not worried about being the best football player and taking advantage of that and impacting the community. No and the Redskins again, they're Etienne Abedin the same thing. They are not they also should get the same backlash that any player gets because they are. I'm at a loss for pissing me off so much yesterday. When I seen the news I had to send a couple tweets out. And then I logged off because I didn't want to read about it really made me mad, man. Like, I can't even tell you. Because people talk about the NFL being a privilege, and I'm like having having that it is a privilege to play in the NFL. But you have to be really really frigging good to play any NFL. It's not a lottery ticket. You don't just get to put your name in a raffle and decide to get drafted. No, you're in some of the best athletes in the world. Right. But by the standard of the best athletes in the world. There are other guys who are NFL players that will never get to touch NFL soil. I was one of those guys, man. Like there was a thin line between me never playing in the NFL so months the best athletes in the world. Yes, it is a privilege the privilege that Reuben foster is abuse. It's a privilege that since the Washington Redskins decided to back him up on their also abusing. So I don't want to hear anything more about like, the Washington organization. They will never be a press release apple give shit about from now until perpetuity because they're so full of it. It's not even funny there. The Redskins right now are co-signing on the abuse. And the actions of Reuben foster by picking them up, especially this quickly, and that's unacceptable. Next topic. Final topic of the day. Ben Rothlisberger says he has earned the right to criticize his teammates, criticized Tonio Brown, James Washington and his offense coordinator on his weekly appearance on Pittsburgh radio after they lost to the Broncos hawk has been Rothlisberger earned the right to criticize his teammates. No has his been Rothlisberger has not earned the right? Is he a great player? He's an incredible player is the great quarterback. He's one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL is the hall of Famer first ballot two time Super Bowl champ. He is consistently good football player. Here's white hasn't earned the right to criticize his teammates. Anyone who has to come out and say earned the right to criticize my teammates. Has not earned the right to criticize his teammates. Because how good you are doesn't dictate whether you can criticize your teammates it what kind of leader you are. And that's what he is not Hala fame. He is not a hall of fame leader, he teases retirement. He throws people under the bus. He lies. He has off the field issues. He's turned his back with his organization and any player whenever it's convenient for Ben Rothlisberger. And when you do that people don't look to you as a leader. They don't gravitate to. Yes, you're really good football player. But that's where it ends. It's the cool guy saying, I'm super cool. Cool. People don't say, they're cool. Everyone knows they're cool people who had the right to to criticize players publicly. Don't have to say Tom Brady doesn't have to come out. And make that statement paid manning didn't had to come out and make that statement, they have a level a level of standard. They stick to. And they are consistent with that. Everybody else knows everybody else makes that declaration not you've been Rothlisberger wasn't very tactful and saying it agree on that side of things he has not shown great leadership throughout his career. And great. Leaders don't have to tell people. They're great leaders. Exactly. Just like great players. Don't have to tell people that. They're a great player. We know we've got balls..

"But Big Ben Rothlisberger decides to open this mouth. And what does he say? He questions offensive coordinator. Randy Fichtner, not calling juju Smith Houston's number enough on a final drive. He questioned James Washington. Dropping a pass he questioned Antonio Brown's row. Running said nothing about his own damn interception. Said nothing. And then when you know, basically addressed. Over the thoughts of publicly criticising teammates. This is why Big Ben Rothlisberger had to say. Well, I think I have earned the right to be able to do that with as long as I have been here. This is what he told Chris a damn ski or Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune review. He says an I'll just be just as a critical of myself in the media as well. Well, I hear that. I haven't heard of that. He goes on being around for a long time with a lot of different players. You have to know how to motivate different guys at different ways. I think that's part of being a leader being a captain just understanding players. Sometimes you just grabbed him off to the side. And sometimes you have to be honest with them. So how does big win Roxburgh thing? Those he openly critiques whether it's on his radio show to other media where we ask we will ris at Big Ben says, go asked them, I have no idea. I would hope that they would understand that as the quarterback in the captain that I have the right to do those things. I don't feel like I abused that situation. So I don't think it's an issue. But you would have to ask them, wait a minute. I thought you said part of being a leader is known agus. Sometimes you got some guys you've got to pull to the side. Some guys you can sit there malign publicly. Now you saying they'll ask them, you don't know. So you didn't know how

"Maybe after Brady retires, I'll be a little more how, yeah. Shots fired again at damasec we really wanna get voted out. We've abated for two decades. It's fun the their schedules hard that ten and a half is like exactly. I looked at the schedule and then I went back and I was like, of course ten in apps like the person or eleven eleven feels high. Ten feels low, and usually they'll ask game of the year is versus the Brown. So you could just add one to the total, but it's it's not this year. So here's the case for them to go over bursts first, six games at Cleveland home, Casey at Tampa, home, Baltimore, home, Atlanta at Cincinnati. Now, one of those games will be the Ben Roethlisberger takes a shit on the field game. Yeah, I don't know which we look at those. Which one would you go with? Lose like thirty two, thirty, two, three, four at Denver or something that defense steps up and the net Denver. Now that's much later I'm laying for six. All right. Well, maybe home Baltimore and NBC's you get on TV though, right? Maybe that Atlanta game to get sacked like ten times. So maybe that's it. So one of those lapham but the ship will be rated and their division I think is also pretty weak. I'm going over here. I think it's more eleven or twelve wins according to Big Ben, they're going to be doing a lot more no huddle. I think there's going to be a lot of games where they're up eight, nothing to start because they go for the two point convert. I let couldn't do that. I think they're gonna. Teams are going to be out of it almost immediately six and own a division in two thousand seventeen. That's probably not going to happen again for Big Ben and company, but they drafted another wide receiver. This James Washington Smith Schuster's great announced they lost mardi Bryant and obviously Antonio Brown. I just think there's. Too much offense there his way too much for their ability to find these receivers who weren't. I ran receivers is one of the most spectacular. Yeah, kind of recurring things that I've ever seen like I did a thing on my pod last week about how the pats have just over the years ever since I was a kid really struggled from the second round. Second round, pick air and with bowel check late. The best one was the branch. Malcolm Mitchell had the Cup of coffee where he, you know, he's really help on the simple drive for the most part, they've just missed and Pittsburgh said like seven guys this decade, including Brown, who's probably the best receiver. The last five years? Yeah, that's much to all these other dudes. Manual saner still kicking in Denver. I don't know how they do it. What they look for. I don't know what their sites is of it, but I can't. I was thinking the same thing. I was like, wow, they got another one crazy. How did they do this? And I like ally Rogers to try it. He's still there still the Jaguars scout should just follow the Steelers scout. Right? Like a team that never has good receivers that just this is just stay with this guy. But whenever he writes something down, you write something down as well. So the question, the biggest question is rothlisburger when is it the OBE lose mobile joke from forty years ago, when is the blues mobile just completely collapsed and the tires go flying and he just has one of those bodies that you know it's not going to end..

"So I understand that completely. And then the other guys. Rising on changing a little bit of James Washington. So Mike Jane's, Washington, you say, yeah, James who does James Washington play far James Washington, the rookie wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers. If you are new to the show, welcome glad to have you. James. Washington was a very highly loved, highly touted rookie coming into the NFL draft by every analyst in existence except me. I really, I. I mean, I and I acknowledge it. I, I stood alone. Some of the people I respect the most Matt Harmon for right the wide receiver guru. You could get all his information of receptive perception in the ultimate draft kit loves James, Washington. It's consensus. Catch rate is unbelievable his, I mean, but when I watched, I just I thought that his trick his one trick of the deep ball at his size was not going to work in the NFL. I didn't think it would translate and I'm starting to see. Translate wasn't would actually translate to fantasy value for this season. Well, he's going to be the third last is the third target. So I. Sure. Yeah. I mean, Levy Levy on Belen. The thing about the Steelers that they've proven time and time again is that they know how to both draft and develop wide receivers we saw would you Smith Schuster last year, James Washington collegiate wide receiver of the year manual Sanders. It's not. I only t he because I believe in the talented, James, Washington, I agree with you, Mike. He's going to have a game or two. He's gonna have he's gonna Burr. He's the Martavis Bryant of this offense. He's going to run down the field and he makes contested catches like the one last night. So I think he does threaten do Jews ascension to you know, dominance, right? Because you throw the guy who's open, you throw the guys that juju came out and did it last year. I think James Washington is more of a threat to juju than he is a threat to actual fancy volumes off, fair the character I want to bring up running back for the New York Jets Mr. below Powell, or as we call him on this show, how. How plow and this is this is just a matter of I am back because coming into the the off season blow. Powell was a guy I liked. I know they added Isaiah Crowell and that's fine because the jets have shown they're never going to fully commit to blah pal, but he's going to be involved. And then the poison, the poison started to seep in of OAS below Powell on the roster bubbler. They're gonna move on from below Powell, Elisha McGuire allies. Maguire is gonna take over and then lies McGwire broke his foot, and then Isaiah Crowell got a concussion and on. But on top of that. Before crow guys concussion blow Powell was the first running back in that game. He was. He looked his Blau plow self last night, and this was Scott Barrett. Good friend of the show did some some tracking of the game. He said he played blah pal that has played twenty four of the team's twenty-seven first-quarter snaps, five of his thirteen routes were him splitting out wide as a receiver love that blow. Powell is good. He will. He will never be running back one. Even if is air crew l. goes down and MRs time they won't fully commit to blah pal. But for a guy who is going in the double digit rounds at the running back position that you can use as a flex as a solid flex. I mean, that's outrageous. So I just I'm throwing throwing my hat back in the ring for now if you want to go back to twenty sixteen which you can do in the ultimate draft kit, if you look under the consistency charts in two thousand sixteen, he finish. The year with three or four weeks inside the top ten as a running back last year. He had two weeks inside the top five as a running back. It's all about opportunity with pal. If he's put in a position to catch passes, he can pop off for a top ten fantasy week. I certainly agree with you the trend with McGuire going down and then crow, Al getting concussed and the confidence, and I, it seems like they're giving him the veteran difference, right with that start..

Baker Mayfield of Cleveland Browns says preseason debut performance 'not so bad'

"Schedule NFL, preseason games last night a whole bunch of them and pretty good debuts for Baker Mayfield Mason Rudolph van James Washington Mayfield coming in late, in the first quarter threw two touchdown passes last night and Cleveland's. Win over the giants he was eleven of twenty two hundred twelve, yards and Mayfield says. Things were definitely Different and in his NFL debut then back in college I it was definitely different I think just this whole. Trip going through the routine a different routine you. Know I got, into such a A daily schedule and you know Norman traveling with that team and doing every meeting and so it, was you know doing your first couple of steps you kind of just walking. Through it and making sure you're at the right. Spot at the right time early in making sure that your phone all the rules Mayfield also. Scrambled around a couple of times four first downs. Andy says he's getting more comfortable in that system former OU quarterback Landry Jones started for the Steelers and their game last night, through touchdown pass he was four for four for eighty three yards former OSU's Dr Mason Rudolph came on in, the second half as the third team quarterback of their game against spell it out be he. "So that's where I sit on that juju Smith Schuster. Ham ended up at camp. James Washington player. I love Jason and I, we disagree. Maybe we can carry that that love hate throughout his entire career, Jason, but I love we can do it. I think we, we can carry that. I guess I feel like there's a lot of disagreement with the Steelers because I, I really do believe in James Washington's role. We've seen big been make a lot out of a little. Not that I, I don't think he'll Rogers a bad player. Don't think he's a great player seen him have value because of Big Ben and the the passing attempts on this offense. I think James Washington's a great player. Yeah. But when you, I Rogers had actual value that was when Martavis was not there even some other third in yards per game in passing. But I don't think there's enough there for a third wide receiver. James, Washington has the talent to give you a couple of big play out the season, but you're never going to be able to trust other than maybe. The matchup is great. So you throw him into your DFM more in a negative fashion. Did you then he does yen a positive fashion to himself with that? Yeah. Sure. But mar, I mean, do was fine when Martavis Bryant was there last year, so I don't. I don't think James Washington is a step above Martavis Bryant. I don't. I don't think he takes that much way. The one thing you have to be careful of juju is last year. His efficiency was it was not sustainable. His touchdown rate perceptions. I mean, do is a great player. I believe that fully, but he's not going to be the number one target. He's not going to keep the same touchdown pace that he had last year. He'll be valuable, but I, you know, I don't see him. You know, I've I've cooled a little bit on, you know, the ability for him to crack that top to all of that said, as as Mike mentioned earlier, James, Washington, great op do Smith Schuster great player, Antonio Brown best in the business Levy on Pell, unbelievable, pass catcher. Big Ben is going to be value this, right? And and you know, when you draft a guy late like that, look at the opening schedule. Cleveland is week one. If they're if they're holding back left bell week one, go Big, Ben, Kansas City. Their second there is gone. That's week to Tampa. Bay is week three. Their first difficult matchup is Baltimore and week four, but that's home big been. So I, I like Big Ben as a as a draft, pick love him in best ball, and I'm totally fine. Drafting him as my streaming candidate start the year. Good news when when Martavis didn't play that one game juju had a nice pace. Yeah, that is very let me read this point extrapolate his numb game only for entertainment purpose. Love it. One hundred twelve or sections pretty good. Sixteen touchdowns very nice. Three thousand eighty eight yards baby. So Martavis is gone Jews good for three thousand. That's that's put it in the books. I talk about Vance McDonnell. Jesse, James disagree. Again on this point. I know we have answering Donald. We do have them in in as a potential sleeper at the tight end position because he is he's far more athletic and more talented than Jesse James's? Yes. My concern is loyalty to Jesse. James, the intangibles of Jesse, James, what he does on the field outside of fantasy that will cause Vance McDonald did not get enough of a snap percentage enough targets..

"Country led by james washington who had a big day the lsu transfer tyronn johnson had a big morty oneyard touchdown catch didn't have another catch that day but they've got so many weapons all over the place justice hill at running back you set off the air to me looks like they've got a pretty good defense or at least a muchimproved one two that it tulsa is not going to come out in slug with oklahoma state or arkansas are oklahoma ready the regional teams that they occasionally play but tulsa is a good offense of team in oklahoma state took care them and props to them for that there there was no first half down they were they were strong top to bottom which while they showed up raked dorje like you said immediately and i was mason rudolph who is a quarterback one emission just this hill gives them a great running back the compliment that passing game and james washington can be uncomfortable as a senior receiver keep in mind rude often walking than could have come out early and been early picks they didn't they went back that really helps mike gone the in his opportunity to be a final fourteen and trey flowers on the back and is a great athlete will know a lot about oklahoma state and late september when they host tcu on the 23rd than at lubbock texas second team that people over walk but at lubbock you never know what's going to happen so late september we will get an idea about how good oklahoma status they also travel to pittsburgh early to an so we'll get a good idea then as well as about pittsburgh which i think is an interesting team in the acc perhaps we'll talk about them a little bit later but that is a game in two weeks oklahoma state at pit so it you know i have oklahoma state in the play off that's a game they're going to have to go out and win in and we will see but anyway that that's all that's happened not all but that's a lot of what's happened thursday and friday no major upsets no shockers there was a game last night i i don't know how many people were paying attention to.

"Yet lose it all starts with mason rudolph in my opinion they have arguably one of if not the best quarterback and college football right now at least a typically mason off and they have an incredible playmaker out a wide receiver and james washington i put him in the same breath is death bryant justin blackman guys like that when you're talking about oklahoma state greats ultimately i think they can be in the college football playoff because might gundy has mastered the art of what oklahoma state is that as a highscoring team that forces turnovers not going to be great on defense like you said ben but don't break mentality and shout out to the punter which you just gave them what we're going to get to him were getting get to him don't you worry that kids going to get his own segment but before we move on obviously you both have alluded to it the first year of a conference championship for the big twelve does that ensure that they will be in the playoff for share penza new the two teens are and i if if the disease if somebody takes care of business in the regular season versus an opponent that opponent happens to get back into the mix is that gonna be enough in the eyes of the college football playoff committee and let's not forget what we don't know here are all the other variables how does the pac 12 end up playing out is there a great defence of championship football team that comes out of that conference is eac see once again a legit conference how could that affect the perception of the big twelve so i think it's going to be very very interesting having a championship game without deuce two distinct divisions and in having a rematch type of gained depending on the opponents they could could potentially back for him on my back a fire on a manning.
