"Yeah, and that And that is one night in late January, which you know when it's super cold. People find a way to go right and some in some cities, actually, you know, work out deals with hotels to get people in to warm facilities on those cold nights that are on under 32 degrees. Fahrenheit is HUD is the government trying to change the definition of homelessness? Um, so the horrible as it is a sort of industry joke, And it's just a coping mechanism is that Howard is trying to end homelessness by defining it out of existence by narrowing the scope so much That the numbers are artificially lower. Um and I can see why politicians want to do that. They can say Hey, we've made this this effect, but we're really just doing everyone a disservice. Better numbers. We have, the more we can see the true scope of the problem, The more likely we are to find a solution. Um, it sounds crazy that you know someone can say Hey, we can end homelessness, but we can't and we can save money doing it. I was a pilot project in Hawaii a number of years ago where they use a Medicare Medicaid waiver to allow your positions and hospital social workers to prescribe housing to the chronically homeless. These are people term super neutralizer is right going into the E R 10 21 100 times a year and then average caused a $4000 is that you can see how those numbers add up very quickly. What they saw is by literally prescribing and paying for housing out of those funds. Having a case manager they would stop utilizing those services. They would have improved health outcomes, right, like You say you have a broken bone or you're diabetic over some issue with your feet. You go into your you're cleaned up and given some sort of medication, then off you go. But if you don't have a home to go to to recuperate to rest to heal. You know the ability to get a prescription filled You're gonna come back right? So they saw a dramatic increasing or decreasing visits, improved outcomes overall and a significant cost savings. They said. Millions of dollars a year just by doing this Not that we don't have the money to do it. We're actually spending more by not doing it. It's just it's hard to get people to own up to the problem. Um, and to be fair. It isn't just prescribing housing right. You'll see. That's what happened when student loans were governed back for the first time in tuition cost goes up. You know you have economic to consider, um and housing rates would go up in. That's not really the hundreds already have to look at all these sort of different, interconnected issue simultaneously. And that's one of the things that we're doing. Very good. "The house and what's amazing about like I had my my 16 year old. My 12 year old my seven year old, right? I'm not kidding you. I don't even think I made dinner once. That they're just on their own. They're just cruising, movin and groovin or swim in there. Oh, there in the sauna other they're just constantly outside loving it. Um and yeah, everybody's just eaten on their own at their own time. You don't like It's like 11 30 at night and all of a sudden, my seven year old daughter walks by. He's like, Hey, Dad, I'm like my what? You're in bed three hours ago. I didn't even know you were here. I didn't even know you're here. My wife would be losing her marbles if she heard me right now, But that's just what happens when when you're with Dad, What does that have to do with the music? I have absolutely no idea. I thought you were going to say that you were up there like cranking the tunes all Oh, yeah. No, I was I kept on listening to your, um two. You're Ah, You're you made me a couple of What do you call in there? Oh, break up Mix I made you break up Mix. Yeah, And they were amazed. They're amazing. PT like you have really good taste in music. Because a lot of the bands that you were like, I think I know enough about music. But you always find bands that I've never heard ofthe. And I love What which playlist three listener to we, the North. Uh, all them OK, very well. Think that for them, And I just I love him. I need more than a thank you. I will work on that instigators. Speaking of we, the North Up in Canada. Sean Monahan's name was Dropped last week and rib. Obviously here in Buffalo. You know that when a player of that caliber's names tossed around with the The state of the team and the roster spots that you need to fill in that second line center. You said something before this show. He said. He's not even a second line center. He's a first line center. And if you can get a guy like Monica and You basically have your Matthews to various with Michael and monitor him. So it doesn't sound like you're opposed to making that deal because I know we talked about him. Didn't didn't someone text you Back in, like January or February, saying This is a cross was. What was that? Ryan? Um James Ryan James Ryan messaged you about About him A long time ago, he said he was hearing rumblings in his hockey circles, read an article something like that said that Monahan's name has been kicking around. Andi. I was just like, okay. I think you're crazy. So I'm not even going to kind of like, Look into this, but from what you're telling me right now, Petey. Calgary lose owt in the playoffs. And now you're telling me that Sean Monahan, there's rumblings about him. Maybe being on the move, So I think Okay, So when I say rumblings This came from a blue checkmark so And I believe they're always rumblings. But I guess in your opinion, I would say You think Calgary needs to make that kind of a change right now? I mean, you looked at their defense their loot. They have a lot of UFO defenseman. Um, I don't know. He had kind of an off season compared to the year before. So I guess I'm just it's always good to talk about a guy like that, because he's the caliber of player that we want to get. And not only that, I think the sabers have The currency finally To pull that kind of a deal off. Yeah, And I think the key word there is currency. I think the sabers over a number of years now as Muchas As much as our currency is now on our roster, right? That's what we need to realize is we have a lot of players that are young. And that fit into our lineup, which is very good. Um But I believe that we have the currency. We have the players. Um and the draft picks. To try and get a deal like this done. I mean, my question is, you know, Calgary for years has always tried to continue to get better. And now you can say that they are arguably One of the better teams in the Western Conference. I think they're very competitive. So why? Why at the age of 25 With a player like Sean Monahan, who scored Okay, so here's his career. 22 goals in his first year 31 in his second year 27 27 31 34. Then this last year, he had 22. So what makes you think Calgary would ever want to trade a 25 year old hockey player. Tell you right now, why? Production last year. I don't believe that's who he is as a player, I think, yes, I think you had an off year. Okay, so we had twice holes and 48 points is that is that something to be alarmed about? Um, well, the year before he had 80 and 34 goals or something and 78 games, and this year he had 48 points in 70 games where the problem is the problem is, Let's not let's not look That what he's getting, um in his greatest year like he had 34 goals in 28 points last year, Okay? Or the year before, Okay. So last year last year was 1234567 year in the league. He's played seven years in the league has played a lot of games hasn't missed meant much time. And last year was his Second worst. Um, year like.

One answer if my child ask me a question, I give her one very clear answer. And I do not extravagant and I do not carry on. And she seems to have very much appreciated that can you give me an example of a question and answer are you in Ryan going to get married? Nope. We have no plan to get married. And then she might carry onto. Well, why? And that I would say well because that's not something we want and we've had these conversations where she's trying to go down the line of will what are you doing? And who are these people who are they in your life? And what do you know, what you want out of that if had enough conversation to get to the point where I said, well, I mean, you know, that I I really care for a couple of people in my life. You know, that I'm seeing actually two women right now, we know that right? And so we'll have some of those basic. Level conversations. But you know, she doesn't need to know the details. No one wants to know the details. Mother mother. But you ever talked to her about whether or not she can share that information outside of the home with you. Nope. If she happens to ship to share something with somebody, and I have to have a long conversation with a with another parrot about how she can't hang out with them or people can't come over to my house because they're uncomfortable. Then. You know? That's it's what I gotta do. But I'm not going to hide myself. That's that's not gonna happen. Was there ever a moment where you thought maybe you wouldn't be out to your kids? "You'll your kids. I sleep over could happen because she loves hanging out with your wife's new boyfriend and his daughter, and when the group gets together for thanksgiving dinner or a backyard barbecue, they're all these kids running around who known each other their whole lives like a big family. And for all these reasons and more, my guess say that poly-amorous has made them better partners. And parents. The pollock. You'll started with five or six core. Members and has grown to ten. Most of them are in their thirties. Many are by or queer half of them are married. Half of them are raising kids ranging from three to ten years old. And there are all kinds of relationships within this group. The one thing that they all have in common is no one wants to be an a strictly monogamous relationship, the standard narrative of relationship is that it's an escalated that leads to marriage, and then you spend the rest of your life with that person. And while this is James not as real name. No in here is using real name's James is married with two kids, and he and his wife EDNA even hosted the Pollock you'll thanksgiving this year. So when I told my best friend that I was numb inaugurated, we had an open marriage. He asked where are those relationships going? And I looked at said, where's our relationship going? You know, it doesn't have to go anywhere. It can just be. What it going to be? You don't need to have it lead to, you know, host in the suburb and two kids and a dog and all of that it can just be what it's going to be the years did. It doesn't have a dog. Didn't know. Okay. The guy teasing James Ryan, also a dad, and he shares three different girlfriends with James. There's a little bit of a joke in that everyone James dates I start dating six there's sometimes delays a little longer. But yeah. Ryan also likes to poke at the fact that I keep dating his girlfriend's at. Keeping track of who's dating home can be hard to do with this group. Like take our third guest Dina she dates James's wife EDNA sometimes but not James himself. They're friendly though. They love talking about engineering Dina and Ryan they've been dating for four years. Now, they live in the same building they car pool their two daughters together, they're so close people keep trying to invite them to things as a couple which they hate because they identify as solo neither of them wants to live with or Mary anyone ever. Again, I've been too long term relationships that follow structure is a difficulty. God is if I'm that person, the most important person is are they more important than me. And I think part of being solo is reclaiming the idea of the most important person in that isn't about OEM selfish. I take everything and I never give it's not about that. But it's about when you start framing putting relationship a. If the goal of monogamous marriages for one person to put the other person above himself, I kind of questioned whether that's even a healthy thing to start with. Really? Okay. So if if I was telling you that a nuclear bomb is heading to the mid west, and these are your last, you know, ten seconds on earth. Why would anyone bomb? The midwest. All. All. All right. All right. All right later. So Kim Jong got it wrong on the map. Here we go who do you close your eyes and think about if you wanna think about love and your last seconds on earth. "Or I could think of a lot of examples what I'm trying to say doesn't matter. What you do? Whatever you do whatever you do the bible says do it. Hardly do it for the Lord and not for men and God on ring work is a God honoring activity. This is called the Protestant work ethic. Now with that as backdrop, though, usually will I would never steal. Well. Check these five ways we steal. But don't see it. This is gonna pinch a little bit like the dentist says. But never means. Five ways, we steal and don't see it number one falls government assistance. Now, it's one thing if you can't work, and I'm thankful to live in a country where children don't starve when people can't work. Amen. I think it's hard for us. Even to imagine that in other continents in other places children today will die because they were born into families who live in countries who say we'd rather have more for us. If your kids die, we don't care and and in our country. Our government says, no if you can't work on we will and the problem though in our country as as that sometimes can't work slips into won't work. Not that. I is not that. I can't find a job. It's that. I'm not looking. It's not that. I couldn't work. It's that I've got this little scam going now. And here's here's how this becomes a problem because people who would never think of going next door throwing up the garage door and walk out with their neighbors tools. I would never do that. Now, I believe I hope you wouldn't. But people would never steal from their neighbor. Because who they're stealing from is some big collective, you know, it's the it's the government and who's that? And they've got too much. Anyway, they're stealing from everybody and their dishonest. We got all these things that we've worked up in our minds. And so we justify. But it's stealing. That's what it is. Not that you can't work. It's that you won't work which leads to the next one. Falls worked benefits. My back is bad. I can't work. My arm is sore. I can't work. My mouth is dry. I can't work. I'm tired from the weekend. I can't work or worst. You know, if you're in a warehouse and a machine breaks down and the boss says all right everybody. Wait sit over there to get this fixed. That's not a problem. But if the boss is just away and one guys watching the door for him to come back while everybody else plays cards. That's stealing. You're stealing a day's work. For a day's pay is an honorable thing. Here's a completely different category. Call it falls glory reception. And this is where I mean, you should know that when people come and they thank you. Thank you. What you did? For me. Thank you for what you gave to me. Thank you for what you you know, you should pretty quickly transition that out of thankfulness for the vehicle to thankfulness to the God. I four seven says what do you have that you did not receive in? If you've received it why would you boast as though you've not received it? And there should be an each one of us in alarm that goes off when people were like, dude, I just can't believe how Atlantic you are. And you're like, large bless me. And it's a gift that I was given and people that have gifts ought to act like people who have gifts, and they ought to quickly not take God says an Aisa forty two. He says I will not share my glory with another. And if you take from others the glory that belongs to God your fill in the blank, your you're stealing your, and you shall not steal this thing with us. It's. It's like it's like me coming over to your house for dinner and starting food fight James Ryan gonna get along very good. If you do that. Right. And God's saying the you and him are not gonna get along very good if he's giving, but you're stealing, and these are just some ways that we steal in. Don't see it. Another one would be a false financial management. Now, I've spent whole messages on this. I've spent whole series on this. So I'm going to go through this pretty quick. All right. This should feel like review to you. Are you with me? Here comes my paycheck, my tie, my taxes, my family and.

"Home. Dear God, my name's James Ryan Ingersoll. But you already know that. I bet I'd say I'm homeless, but you'd know I'm lying. I'll keep the short some guy gave me a stamp. He told me the stamp would get this letter to you. He said you don't have time for so many prayers, but said you answer mail to those dedicated enough to send it your way. So here it goes, my one chance to talk to you. These are my three questions one I want to know why you killed my mom when I was a kid too. I want to know how I'm going to die three. I want to know when I'm going to die. Sincerely, James, Ryan Ingersoll. The next morning. Jimmy Mack didn't go to his job in the streets. Jimmy walked to the post office dropped the letter in the mail box and return to his condo where he waited. And waited he sat for weeks waiting for the answers to the three things he wanted to know more than anything. He wondered if his life of lies had put him in bad standing with God, he prayed that he'd receive a reply in vowed to go back to college and stop preying on the sympathies of others to make a buck. He vowed to finish his degree in help the homeless, but still he waited he pounded on his walls. One night, cursing the heavens for believing in something as stupid as the stamp then he dropped to his knees in apologized to God for not believing anything for the letter anything for the answers to his three questions. Jimmy Ingersoll was napping on his couch. The mail slot creek in something fall to his hardwood floor. He ran to the front door and looked the envelope had fallen face down. He picked it up and turned it over. There was the cloud stamp, the thin man wasn't kidding. He'd finally get the answers to the three things. He always wanted to know more than anything else. More importantly, all is doubting was wrong. There really was a God sitting at some writing desk in the clouds answering letters for those lucky enough to come across the magic stamp. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes when he opened them Jimmy read, the notice from the post office written across the envelope return to sender. No god. By that name at this address, Jimmy flew into a rage punching a hole in the wall. And tearing up the envelope on the other side of the door, the thin man and a large friend made their way to the elevator. You such an asshole LOKI the big man said, but it cracked you up. Did it not brother the kid was taking people's money? I'm simply teaching him a lesson. Sure. You are brother. Sure, you are. The elevator doors opened and LOKI said, why don't we go? Grab a brew and see what other trouble we can get into. I know a good place a couple blocks away. Thor clapped his brother on his shoulder. You had me at brew.
