"Come on in the car. Seriously. There is no perfect fit when you're looking for the next big thing to do. You have to take opportunities and make an opportunity for you. So this book is called women work in the water lead. There's a shit ton on work and the world delayed, but almost nothing about picking up chicks. I'm not sure it's that kind of a book, right? Sure it is. If you say somebody, here we are. Little Warren middle school. How are we going to get the school records to find a girl who's with the fucking scumbag who stiffed the hotel? Right, I always have a plan. You do always have a plan. Come on, I'll be a good one, but you do always have a plan. Lucky you're big because you're definitely not funny. Oh, I am big. Thanks for dropping me off, Ted. Happy to be useful. Here's your bag. Thanks. See ya. Hey, Hayden. Think fast. Oh. Why would you throw a ball at my face? Sorry, I thought you'd catch it. I want you to have a soccer ball. Why? For your future success in life of the Fortune 500, 422 are on a sports team in high school or college. You're an idiot. Ow. Why? I was just trying to help. Everybody else. Don't stay in the hallway please. Leave your bags. Outside now. To get outside. That worked out well. Unplug this, would you? What are you doing? Taking their computer. The whole student registry will be on it. And we'll cross reference that with the female hotel employees, then we'll check each one out. And she'll lead us to the guy. Yeah. Grab the hard drive there and some pens. In a statement. In those post it notes. Anything else? Yeah, that bowl of candy. There you go, western scramble, short stack, and a breakfast burrito, no cheese. Enjoy. Jane, you got a call from your kid's school. Really? Thank you. Hello? Shit. Sorry. Yes. I'll be right there. Misses Morris, we did warn you this could happen. No, you didn't. Well, I did warn you hate its behavior, could escalate. That's very different from saying that Hayden could come in one day and set off the fire alarm causing panic throughout the school. That is escalation. Look, he says he didn't do it, and I believe him. Have you even looked into who else could have done it? We have not. You just pinned it on the sensitive boy with the imaginary enemy without any investigation whatsoever. Wow. Real thorough. It's like I'm sitting opposite Elliot Ness or something. Sherlock Holmes. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You should probably watch this. This is the CCTV footage from this morning. That's Hayden. Yeah, I recognize my own son. That's his back. I am aware of that. That's a hammer. He's taking out of it. Yeah, I get it. That's him smashing the fire alarm. You know, you really don't need to keep narrating. The picture quality isn't great. Enough. So I got it. So, what do we do? Hey guys. Okay, Hayden. Go inside and get ready for bread. I'll come talk to you in a minute. So it was definitely him? No question about it. Did he say why? Ernie made him do it. Ah, shit. What are you gonna do? Start him on a combination of haloperidol and lithium? You're putting them on drugs. No. Medical behavioral professionals are putting him on drugs. That's where he'd been all afternoon. Assessments. The kid doesn't need to be doped up like one flew over the cuckoo's nest. I don't want to do it either, but he set off fire alarm today. He endangered lives. I don't know what else to do and what comes next. He brings a gun to school. I don't know. I don't know. God damn, I don't need you to experts weighing in and making me doubt myself. Excuse me. Where are you going? I need to ask a friend for advice. Dear misses and Dale. I hope you don't mind my reaching out to you, but I have no one else to ask. You have children, right? I need a little advice if you don't mind. You guys were great even though you guys hung up on her. Nothing's worse than the james remar. That was i was like under the table with that one. So you guys had to hear. That won't play on this show but we interviewed james reimer ramar. Whatever his name is. Dexter is dad. Yeah i was nervous. Michael was just like table. Are you ready for this manner. What i'm like It was so. I don't know are. This is one of my favorite clips. A lot going on here so let me see if i can break it down so this is doing the reunion show. We did a few years I don't know how many ten twelve years ago now. And we. This bit plan where i had done interview with rene harbhajan wa from deep space nine and boston legal and He was on the movie and it was when the comic cons in the area. We're really small at the time. And so i had gone to one of these kamikazes and i interviewed him and And like there's lunchroom and it was this real loud and the recording. Wasn't that great in my interview skills. We're not that great. At the time they start and it was just. It just wasn't a great interview. So i thought we still should play it because it's great you know he's a he's an actor and gave gave us a time of day. We should at least play that interview. But how do we make that more interesting so we decided that we would play the interview but we were going to have while he was playing. Have bobby mike dopp and we're going to have them watch a video. The video yeah was two girls. One i i was thinking it was going to be that. So this is when the videos out and it taught. Everyone's watch it right no. It wasn't hot. Real hot was popular so it was lukewarm. No it was. It was soft serve ice cream. There was there was like seven people in the room. Everyone knows what's going on. I'm trying to go to a break so we can set up for this bit. We're gonna come back from the break. We're gonna play the rene interview and then Just have bobby watched this video. He doesn't know what he's watching and we were just going to get the reaction because we thought it'd be funny when you're asking like renee has about his career by the way he's dead now so happy but he had mash and then i went to star trek and i went to and they just bobby like oh my god. That was the that was the whole bit. That was what we were expecting. We couldn't see the computer like we were all behind the table over the computer to my room right. So i was dating peterson with my right eric jordan while we were getting ready to close out this segment we were to go to a break. I was going to try to prep what was coming next and eric's trying to find the video because it was actually hard to find so eric was looking for the video so we could pause it and we can just had all set up so during the braves. Mike bobby up is that when i shot him and ask with the thumb tech. Yeah that was one of the many times when you shot him. We did a lot of those things in the back.

"Showing my daughter takes time from cars. Man i feel like we were just dealing with cars a lot down in brazil. I'd just chill out of cars for a second. You want to put a bullet you drink. A milkshake can go to the movies. That is a way to recoup from something stressful. And that's that's that's the end of the movie they drive off. They're going to have you know it's a thing where he he keeps bringing up from. Is it just from the last movie where he's accusing him of cheating in that street race cycling or the first one. That's one of the other hand i guess right and then he nudges him or something. Yes yeah yeah yeah you. It's your best friend with a car. That's the other thing that always drives me crazy when they squeeze these drag side missions in where do drag races in the middle of the full quest. It's always like you could easily get arrested. Hurt bang of carnage like the one hundred million dollar plan is off because we drag race to get funding to the one hundred. They needed to rob a bank but they kept putting russian roulette instead even at the very end. Just streep's come on. They love it. Yes so that is that. Is it until fast six. So i mean that. Is it until eleven. More movies host But gabor's will start with you I think obviously it's going to be a recommend. Did you learn anything new on this most recent rewatch for this movie a different kind of appreciation for it. I i wanted to watch this movie. Specifically through the lens of this kicked off the sort of fastest ons and i wanted to like and looking looking at the looking at it as that magic. And i've said this too many times my life but the magic really is in that family shit which sounds so dumb and also if you right action movies and someone gives you notes and it's like connected the characters more what's everyone's emotions and it's like that's wack wack but watching fast five. You're like the secret sauce. Here is the dumb serious like melodramatic relationship stuff going on around it. It's oddly the secret sauce in a way where you're like. I don't want the scene whether talking about their dads because it's boring but having had that in the movie it made it at least something more. I don't really know exactly what i'm articulating here. But i guess. What i'm saying is something that you would think is so corny on paper or in conversation is like shit. This is what made this popular. That word is like everyone is family and it does feel good that the bad guys turn good and join your team and now we're even stronger now magneto fighting with shit. It's like play play with those rules. So the i truly enjoy this and upon rewatching this. I'm glad the rocks back out. I think that's fun. i think. Keep vin as the sort of figure head of power. I like yeah Steve sack yeah. I'm not a previous episode. You just fan of this franchise however this the first time i've seen this one. This is the best. I've seen of the five or six that have seen Hands down. I think it is it. Just inland does an amazing job with the action The problem is the runtime and just sort of the the the tease me with with a good heist movie and then not give it to me. It's always a bummer. But i i really had actually more fun with this. The not so i i. It's a recommend for me. That eric cisco yeah. It's it's a recommend from me to which is surprising because like steve. I didn't have a much of affinity. For the this franchise. I watched one to four and five this past forty eight hours and their early stuff like it. Just it doesn't jive with me as much. But like i feel like john. I think what you're saying about the family stuff makes sense because the makes these more characters than just people doing things and then the heist stuff i like. I think they should go into more genre type. Bavaria's and the action you know like we said before you can actually see what's going on and it's pretty compelling unlike some of the street racing stuff previously so yeah. It's it's a recommend here that chris cabin yet. It's a it's a soft recommend but it's recommend i. I really have turned on these movies. That the stupidity of them. And i think you're right john when you say that about the family stuff is like yeah. I kind of warrant. I grew into these movies. Nasa how it happened. But i grew into them and seven is going to be my favorite to the. It's just such a blockbuster like everything is happening in that movie. And and that's where kurt russell comes and they just blow it out so much in that movie but as far like this would be number two and number three. I also have really weird affinity for two fast two furious. A single even like in tokyo drift is the first one is actually the one. I go back to that time. It's still kinda sucks like that. I'm still like i don't know about this. This kind of crap but like they definitely learned something so i have to give it to them. Yeah it's almost like the power of the movies is that there's nine of them in a way where it's like. They beat you down where you're like. Yes fine family. Jesus christ you're got it all right. I love it all right. Let's just fucking racecars again. Fam- right it's they just they get you enter. Atrophy you just lose by attrition. you're like five. Yes let's do it. Yeah it's it's weird. I've been really having this own. Like fast assange over the past few days like got that box as like this new movies coming out. Whatever these things some of them like this one. I didn't remember a lot of because it was a real like green out. It wasn't even at the theater. I saw it on like a bad. Dvd represents things only not a great ideal screening experience. But like i've been the having fun with most of them. I still don't care for tokyo. Drift and i think it's just too the only thing that it benefits or gave us is the character of han. Who's great. he's my favorite character. In this franchise the singleton moving too fast and furious. I think plays like a really small nice. Like nine thousand nine hundred seventies car crime movie so i look like that movie if it was made like nineteen. Seventy five definitely could have started like burt reynolds or some shit like 'cause they're like racing for this drug dealer and there's all the undercover cop shit james remar by the way really great in it So i don't know but this this is great this like the takeoff from here with the action and it's practical action to not a lot of computers doing on now movie all except when vin diesel drives the car out of the train car at the very beginning of fuckin- cartoon on and dive into the river is they're both glowing like e. s. But yeah no i would. I would totally recommend this Having fun with this but there you go folks. That fam- is fast five from two thousand eleven directed by justin lin. John john gabriel's thank you for coming on again man. It's always a blast rapid with you. Of course this is a real pleasure. All i wanna do is shout about movies and so happy to do it with you. Guys who i i love to talk to. It's fucking blast and speaking fan. We are head gum fans so go ahead plug away and what you got going on lately. Man i check out my podcast high and mighty where it's just a chat show. I think if you're.

"Titles. I never remember too long too long but burn thaw as he does in fucking wind river. He doesn't all taylor sheridan movies. I guess just killing his supporting role. She's doing a great just doing exactly what's expected of him. I fucking love the angelina. Jolie movie and i loved wind river to two straight up just like nineties movies where even like wind river even has the sort of like white guy who's more native american than other people like river. We'd river had some issues those who wish we did. I pretty good time with any. We have a lot of complaints. I didn't have any complaints. I straight up ninety. S movie like great ensemble insane job and then an insane storyline. That has nothing to do with the job. Thrown on top of like just a movie about a smoke jumpers cool enough ask how long but then it's like now also murderers and villains just being pure villains. That's what's so 'nineties about it. I feel like there's no gray area where they're like well. They're trying to do something for society. Now they're just he literally starts a forest fire like they. You know their bad. 'cause they have guns. Yeah guys with machine guns who will shoot the guys that's their that's their only okay so bring things full circle though like you were talking about. How watching this movie being like man didn't how fucking good we had it like the early two thousands vestiges of the ninety s. Big dumb action movie. And even though. This isn't a perfect movie watching it. Today it gives you that nostalgic jolt like it is wild now knowing what the fast and furious franchise has become that like the big fucking money trailer shot stunt at the end of this movie is they have to land a car on a boat. Yeah and that's nothing to what the fight it's fucking the beginning of it. The boat right. Yeah it's fun but like this movie cost seventy six million dollars right which is a huge punch up from the first movie costing like twenty five or something And like this used to be an oversized big stupid action movie. Yes yes that was a seventy six million dollar movie where one vehicle lands on one other vehicle. One time right and the problem. Is that when when you're stupid. Action movie becomes three hundred billion dollars. And i will say i think. The fast and furious franchise is largely the exception to this like it is the one franchise that has grown that size. That still works for me but like now. That's the only sphere in which this type of movie can exist. Is that budget level. It has to be that huge global. Then you get to a point where it's like well. Then how do you make a twenty million dollar taylor. Sheridan firefighter movie. Yeah i know it feels like anomalous because you're like well. The gulf is too wide there. That movie should cost seventy six million dollars. You know people don't know what to do with that movie being that size and being that sort of like modest its ambition. Yeah and then. Don't even start talking about comedies. Like then you're like bring back the middle class of american society and films please. It's just. I don't know it's just like like two thousand and three is a is a big ass summer. You know like you have the matrix reloaded coming out. You have finding nemo one of the lord range. If you're just spoiling the box office game right now come on come on yes. Yes two thousand three big summer it just and this was like one of the big sequels but still it's like seventy six million dollars. Yeah yeah and as you say the climax is they jump car and then there's an injector seat and there's no star lord no no one opens a portal in the sky and there's not even the right. They're fast the later fast and furious stuff where it's like. Oh my god they have a tank and a submarine and we have to jump you. Eight people from skyscraper to another skyscraper. What they don't do not pulling any nonsense like that. No no i. i do. Think like singleton maintains a lot of energy in this movie. It is kind of like just pleasant to watch a bright summer. Miami movie like this is the first movie is so much like dingy dark. La backstreets right. There's something cool just about the change of color palette the time we're recording this. The eternal trailers came out this week. The internet's talking about the muddiness and the murkiness of marvel movies and how washed out. Everything is the lack of colors. This movie like even when you get out of that opening race sequence. It's still like man like the sky is so blue in this movie. Like the trees are so green has just mechanic shop is like walking into like discoveries own. Bright block color fucking. Everything looks great in this and it's got like camera movements and wide shots. It's not like all done in like claustrophobic. Coverage the dialogue scenes like have a sense of scale and scope and energy to them. I mean you'll have things like the singleton touches but there's the sequence i guess when they're trying out the new cars i think it is. I remember that. Or when it's if it's when cole hauser has them like do the trial run for them but that sequence where they like run through the middle of the town and there's the dude crossing the street. Yeah you're talking about and you're like watching the people on the porch watching the cars go by and you're sort of like re grounding the community in which they're intercepting like that stuff is fun the movie just kind of like becomes a bummer when it has to get back to the plot because it's such a fucking generic like procedural cop episode just paint by numbers. That's the thing that you could use it up a little bit more and it would be better and instead it's like james remar wanna pull the plug. No yeah okay and on with the next scene there's just nothing there like they get each other's face a little bit like remorse mad. The tyree shoots at them in that but like paper and over immediately. Then it's like well whatever the stakes extensively are you know will therese and Paul walker mend their relationship. Right which i feel like they do and they don't to quickly like after the first fight then it sort of becomes like every other scene. They're getting along well. Were there a little testy. It doesn't feel like there's an arc of him gradually winning his trust again. Then you should have more bromance. I can't believe there's not a moment. There's not a moment where one of them or the other does something like i mean. I guess we do have a roman showing up and saving paul walker out of this fight but there definitely could have been a couple of moments where you think he's gonna turn on rome in our rat. Roman like some kind of like give us some sort of fucking relationship drama. Let's see. i had that with toronto. Brian obvious.

Paul walker paul walker three hundred billion dollars twenty five Brian seventy six million dollars taylor sheridan seventy six million dollar Eight people cole hauser one vehicle Jolie first movie this week Today first fight twenty million dollar one franchise Sheridan One time

"World is against them because they are wack and sometimes it's against them because they are superheroes is a complicated series but it is really good series and has been around for a grand total of four seasons and this is his last season and last episode that are going to talk about black. Lightning is american superhero drama television series developed by samuel achille. That premiered on the cw on january sixteenth two thousand eighteen and concluded on may twenty four point. Twenty one is based on the character of the same name created by tony isabel with trevor von in din featured in publications of dc comics and it is to really good show. This series focuses on jefferson pierce or principle of the garfield high school in the city of freeland georgia. Nine years ago he was a superhero call. Black lightning until he retired after what his life was doing to his ex wife lynne stewart and his daughters anissa and jennifer jefferson is forced to become black lightning again then when the one hundred freelance most feared criminal gang led by tobias. Wales was taking over the city. Jefferson's return as black. Lightning is caused when anissa or captured by one hundred members associated with law jackson after the incident. Unnecess- starts to develop her abilities and becomes thunder while denver starts to develop her own electrical abilities. In addition jennifer's boyfriend khalil gets way to vices side following a sniper injury and becomes painkiller through cybernetic enhancement and a showdown with a a member. Martin proctor jennifer defeats them proctor. Getting shot by gamby proctors briefcase enables to bias to get access to content. That is what happened in season. One and season two jennifer works to improve her powers. S tobias works to translate the contents of the briefcase with breeland police department. Bill henderson now. Knowing jefferson says superhero identities. They continue their fight against the hundred. Meanwhile lynn works on the young magic humans in the pod. Stet proctor had well under the supervision of a a agent odell who was swayed x. Mar cobian scientists. Dr helga lace into helping out on aware that she is secretly helping tobias following khalil's of parents depp. jennifer becomes lightning help. Her father out to bias manages to get some of the contents translate which led to him getting control of the masters of disaster as jefferson and jennifer defeat by who is later incarcerated in the pit. Dr days is handed over to henderson. And is later taken back to marco via by the running bounty hunter instant as the pierces celebrate their victory odell reveals that he knows their secret identity. He tells them that. The marco vian are coming to freeland and that a s a is wearing them in or the inevitable war. It's almost getting time to celebrate. Am i right. That is basically what happened in season. Two in season three. It's all about the war and the consequences the winning the war. I mean basically. The mom got captured. By the marco cobian and they had to save her and when they saved her they realized that she had gotten addicted to this stuff that allows her to basically be able to have superpowers because before floor. She was the only one. I didn't have superpowers in her family and she felt left out. And now we're talking about addiction as part of the series as well as talking about black lives mattering and it's interesting to have that show as well so they win the war but cost because that police officer that everybody really likes he died during the war and it's just sad see a great cop like henderson die and as what basically black lightning has been dealing with in the last season he was dealing with that and not the healthiest way. He was acting out and it just was sad. Not only that. But grace which is a necessity beyond say. She went into a coma but luckily he came out of the coma but they ended up getting married in the hospital in secret because they didn't A man of their lives together and of course painkiller or khalil has now been initiated in the psych. Kill order to basically kill the pierces which he can't do so yes to isolate himself from jennifer in order to protect her. It's a complicated relationship. Now let's talk about the actors and actresses per person. We've got is chris williams as jefferson peers. Our main character black lightning. Who is an awesome bad and an awesome superhero. Who's trying to do the things that helped him survive this ordeal. Then we've got a personal favorite of china and mclean who plays jennifer at the reason. Why china is the personal. Favourite is because of the fact that she was also in another series that i used to really love which was called ant farm and i just love her a little kid and now that she's in another series that i really love. Is this really cool. She's also a really good singer. And then while in this season we had another actress played denver later on. I'll get to that later. And her name is laura karachi and well. Lightning is complicated character. I mean she has problems with kaleo. She has a problem with her powers and the problem with her own identity. So yeah i really do like how complicated and unique character is. Then we've got nafeesa williamson anissa pierce and or thunder who also has another name burst superhero identity. Which is blackbird. And she is the oldest daughter of the jefferson family. And we'll she's really cool. I like the fact that season awesome. Gay girl. And i like her pairing with grace. I'll get graces actress in a minute but first let's talk about len who is jeffersons ex wife and she is played by christine atoms. And she's just a really awesome character. i like her. I like her connection with jefferson. I like the fact that they really should be together. Even though they're not and she's also released smart woman now. The villain of the series is called tobias way out. He is played by. Marvin corden jones. That third now thing about tobias is he's like a vinyl black man which is really cool in so many ways. I thought that was really unique about the character. And he's like a gang leader. Then we've got peter gamby who is played by james remar and while he basically is the geek person of the crew he makes the suit any also provides consulting staff to the pierce family and we like his character law. Then we've got khalil being by jordan hallway and well. He's a related character. And the file character that i talked about is grace. Chou who is played by ten tail. Thou and well. She is a carl friend to fiance to wipe and.

chris williams samuel achille lynne stewart james remar trevor von Bill henderson laura karachi tony isabel january sixteenth anissa khalil Jefferson four seasons peter gamby jennifer jefferson Stet proctor christine atoms jefferson Marvin corden jones jeffersons

"He was rushed to a hospital because a moth had fluttered into his ear canal was causing him severe pain and needed to be surgically extracted. The production did suffer some cultural shock when they were filming in thailand because the tight government committee on religious affairs they were very sensitive to the portrayal of the buddhist faith for commercial purposes. The you're upset at the film's either of the buddhist principles of peace and tolerance because they were depicting buddhist priests paying respects to an evil warlord in the film so these sought to confiscate property used by the film production at the historical temple ruins of a ut because the authorities claimed that the crew there was desecrating the ruins not only through the portrayal of the religion but also they were setting off smoke bombs and staging fight scenes on ancient holy artifacts and temples that have been used for centuries for religious purposes. The production team though claimed that outsiders were mistakenly taking the four hundred by three hundred foot styrofoam and scaffolding. Set that the built on the site as the real ruins and they were not actually touching those secret ruins now. As far as the casting goes that developed into one of the main problems from fans because annihilation recasts most of the major characters from the first film the only prominent returning actors are robin shoe and to lisa soto now shoo. In addition to his first top billed role in an american film he also happened to be helping with the casting of the film as well as the fight choreography so he was spread very thin. For this film. James remar he became raden. Christopher lambert deemed the script terrible and did not want to return especially after the experience of being in the highlander sequels. That were also quite terrible and he thought that it should have ended in the first film chris. Conrad stepped in for linden.
