James Marsden entirely different James Than James Corden turns his house into a Dave and buster's Kim Douglas the wonderful hilarious ridiculous Kim. Douglas is back on the Ellen show and we gift to more expectant moms first time so pregnant women with their pregnant with their first child clear. Yes with say giveaways for Mother's Day show last month exciting. I also glad him I'm Mandy last year. I'm Mary Connolly. I'm Kevin Hi everybody and A and welcome to another edition of our award winning. Podcast NO We did we got a choice. I think there's an asterix. I believe that we earned it. The people chosen us and very exciting stick with that and I thank you all for helping me along the way I have. I have big changes in store for your podcast. Next year and really ready did our weakness. Is there another year that we run the show? So we pick ourselves up. I'm not saying we're making any money I'm gonNA take it to the reporter. That's good and we are to be honest. Kevin hasn't signed as the old for another season. He's negotiating yeah. He's holding out a bit. So I WANNA keep my wardrobe Jennifer Aniston. Evan may have said the following yesterday. Well I have two pair of shorts left affect me so it's either going to be the other one Kevin and I also liked the facial growth. It's really like and the long hair. I'm liking the look. Yeah I think you look good now. Do very handsome thanks guys. It's just been rough. Yeah I'm ready to go back to the real world. I'm ready to go back to work and see all you guys on a regular basis in see everybody in the staff but I guess I not happen until the country news seems to be on edge. Yeah that's how it feels to me not in a good way. Yeah no just you know. It's it's a lot of time to be sort of removed from like normal society. Yeah to longtime kids had to relearn how to do school and like interacting with other kids is like I don't know sort of the foundation of growing up of being a kid all just been really really and then like Sorta the politicization of like Matt wearing a mask vs not wearing a maverick thing fully. We're very lucky to have our jobs. And our hosts in our family and our little our little podcasts. We sure are you know I find at this time when like very simple things become incredible joys and we're sitting out in the yard sitting out in our front yard This weekend and some friends drove up. We had no idea they were coming. Wow got to the car and it changed. Everybody's moved. They stayed you know in the street chatting with us. Everyone at of mask on for ten or fifteen minutes they were driving up just taking a drive and Oh my God. It was so fun we the best time you have friends socialites. That's really cool and I I also learned. We have listener. A friend of mine named Tracy listens to our podcast while she walks her dogs in the evening. Tracy texted me the other night she goes. I'm just listening all about ZANDER. Oh I love that Jazz. Anders AMAZING SO IT TURNS OUT. I have friends and we have one more confirmed listeners. Mary when you sit in your yard. Can you see your pool moving toward your neighbor's house or nonsense? It happened more slowly than and this was me sitting in the front yard so in the front. It's very hard to see the pool. The POOL REPO ING. I guess what would be considered West keeps going West. It'll ultimately be on. Pch right something to look forward to something to watch for it. Turns OUT IT turns out here in the Silver Conley homestead. We need to do a little work. Shoring up the hillside and so that that work will happen. Hopefully over the summer people have asked me and I know you're GonNa Make Fun Saying that they're people who ask me questions which is probably some. You are correct but people have asked me so this season is almost done and then what are their plans? Are you guys? You know what happens next and we know what everyone knows. Our hope is that we come back in September in our studio with some form of an audience or maybe no audience. We don't know it all depends on what the virus decides to do but our hope is to take a little time off and then to come back and shoot game of games and then after that shoot our show in our hope is to continue to to try to return to our normal way of doing things. I was wonderful Cabbie. You'RE GONNA fall down. I'M GONNA fall down for a couple of weeks. Mayor Bounty for season eighteen gotten. He's ready to bounce. So yeah. So that's that's the plan. So that's what we think our hope everything were pointing towards is shooting some game of games episodes for everyone's enjoyment and then coming back as Kevin said for season eighteen season eighteen. How crazy how insane is that it. It's insane it's been a long time. Yeah it's been so fun. Yeah Oh yeah I mean it's been it's been quite a ride hard to imagine that it's been eighteen years and I would say season. Seventeen has been the toughest season. It's been yeah this has been so it's it's hard for us but it's even harder for our viewers like all the people. I keep thinking about all the people who had tickets. You know so many able make plans around the coming. Yeah you know We I mean we've part for seventeen years. People get two weeks vacation a year and they have planned everything around coming to the Ellen show and it's just breaks my heart the amount of audience members who you know. We weren't able to come in. Hopefully we will be back soon and all those people will be able to beat show but I think is amazing. Andy is something that you've done and I don't think you're getting enough credit for it. What's that well? The people that you know have made the plan to have really wanted to come to the Ellen show and have been unable to the fact that you're hosting them at your. They are all welcome in my home. Fact that you have opened up your home I mean it's what I do what I do. Give her yeah. I ever and Laurie is Yeah I explained to her. Some people have hotels so it's never going to be more than two hundred feet night within you know and we can do. Hopefully we'll we'll be at a point where we can do a buffet style dinner. So yeah so that's our hope I can't you know the four of us constantly saying how much we miss the audience but no one is saying it more than Ellen that's A. She has really missed the the applause. The the Kham robberies the gratitude of of of an entire audience and fun. It's more yeah. It's more fun having a party in the room. It really is people talking about that. Your Jokes Yeah. Other than a weird guy in the window. Speaking of funny. Let's talk about James Cordon. Yes a good transition really speaking fun. James Gordon late night funny hosts and go ahead. Why don't we talk about she? The Way Ellen Doors James Corden pretty sweet. He really is funny any so fast on. You know he's just fun. She mentioned in this interview on the show. He is funny on his show but he was outrageous at her guerrilla Palooza event. He was absolutely go fun. I sat there in the audience that guerrilla Palooza thing and he just knocked my socks off. He hosted the auction the way he got people to bid on items and the way he came off the stage and was in people's faces and challenging people to bid up items to help protect the the mountain gorillas Rwanda. He was fun. He was funny and he helped raise an incredible amount of money. It was really fun to watch. At one point he pitted against each other one of them being Kevin. Yarn and the way that he taunted. Kevin Jorn into upping his donation. And I'm not. I'm not even sure he knew. Kevin Urine Wind did not and it didn't matter to him he just was like. I am going to do everything I can to raise money. And it was very successful at it. If you have a chance to get James Corden to run your charity auction. Jump at that chance. He's really really good at it but he's He's less good at helping his kids with their homes. Here's a little bit of that you And your family are. I think you know you have kids. So you have a different experience than than portion. We're just here. But but your kids are home-schooling now. So that's that adds another level of stress right out slugged twenty-five lays stress. It's not man. It's.

"One also home to Ray. Lewis's new podcast. We talked about ray was on the show before I I met Ray at the Super Bowl in Detroit between the steelers and the seahawks because he covered that week with us we. Nfl Network hired. Ray Lewis after the you know. His season was over to be an analyst for US Super Bowl Week and then stay with us for pro bowl week and cover those weeks with us and it was just seeing him be around other players in the way the other players revered him. And that's where I began he. He collected phone numbers of players and would make them part of his daily or weekly texts before after a game. Checking in people would always check in with him. How about Bobby Wagner checking with where Lois? Yeah right that guy's a beast and clear on and clearly whatever he's talking about with is working and so just being around Ray was great and I I wrote about this in my book that we found out you can get for free the audio version audio no audio version. This is a two thousand seventeen book so this was two years after I was hanging with right. And this is in my book where we're ending. Nfl total access at at the pro bowl in Hawaii and we have like ninety seconds to go and say. Hey Ray how about hitting one of those tackling dummies and give people a lesson on how to tackle and then this during the commercial break we have a couple of minutes to go and like how you give me the lesson on how to tackle and everybody bought it in the truck Donald Phrase. That's a by. We bought it and so we come out of commercial break. And it's me Ray Lewis and Rod Woodson on the practice field with. It's not a tackling dummy. It was kind of like one of those bags that could knock over right but so rods going to hold the bag and raise going to teach me how to hit the bag and raise like dip your hips use your chest. See what you hit. All that stuff and I'm thinking in the back of my head is counting down with thirty seconds to go. Twenty where live worm live television thinking to myself. How much money would go for charity? Rod Woodson holding a tackling bag while Ray Lewis teaches you how to hit it and I thought this is such a what a moment. This is thinking enough moment of clarity living in the moment living in the moment. And I'm like I'm going to hit this bag. So damn hard and I did and Rod Woodson sweetheart of a man. Let the bag go like Lucy. Yes would take the football away from Charlie Brown. Oh Yeah Oh yeah and I went straight through the bag. He didn't hold back. I went straight through it. Now Ron to this day would deny that he did that he that he let go. He let go of the bag. I went straight through it and I landed on my shoulder and you could see the battery packs of my microphone. Flew right off felt. They went all over the place and I did the Ray. Lewis bird wave at the camera for a little joke. And then we're through we're done so we're all for the day and this is part of the Boondoggle of of the pro bowl assignment. Back in. That day was amazing so we stayed in the same hotel that the practices were at the players. Were at the pool. Scene was ridiculous. There's you know peyton manning talking to Bill Belichick and then you know. There's Jason Witten. There's Donovan mcnabb. I'm dating myself in terms of the time but that was what was. It was amazing so I then went to the beach to go. Hang out this about an hour later and I'd get up from the sand and my right shoulder is just giving way just yelling at me. And I'm like what the Hell is that. And it was the shoulder. I landed on for this tackling exhibition and suddenly an hour later. I cannot lift my arm. Like almond serious issue here. Wake up the next day. I can't even move. Oh I show up to the set the next day and I'm like a Rod. Thanks for letting go the bag. I landed on my shoulder. I'm seriously hurt so of course everybody on. Nfl Network in the production staff wanted to make bigger. Hey of this whole thing. So we got. I forget the name of of the of the trainer Carolina Panthers now and I think Ron Rivera brought him to DC is well they brought because it was the Carolina staff that was there for the NFC that year. They brought him on the set live. They brought him on a set. Live to Diagnos me and I had an AC joint sprang is like you're a C. joint in my right shoulder. I had a football injury from doing. Yeah I did and Rod Woodson looked at me on the air and I kind of looked at him kind of like saying this is your fault rod that international look of like you happy now and his response was. I think you're GONNA have to go to your other Mike Hand for the rest of the week pretty funny so you WanNa talk about. Should I be a host on everyday greatness? Ray Lewis has new pod. The answer is yes because I had to dig for west of that we did. You did not sit. I did I answered the off the PUP list rich. Not My fun moment. You find that video. I'm walking and I can't find it's fast. It's such a shame his fly thing such a shame such a shame. That was the last time I could lift my arm over my shoulder for the rest of doing that. Rich after eight. Four four two zero four rich number two. Let's take your phone calls here On this Wednesday show Matt and Connecticut has been waiting over an hour. What's Up Matt? Hey thanks for having me brother. Thanks pal what's on your mind. I wanted to ask you about the NFL schedule which you were a part of hosting question about the Detroit Detroit. Lions schedule all right. I got it in front of me. What do you want what do you need? I wanted to ask you. Are there any advantages not have to prepare award these short week? Switch our prime time games. The Thursday night. You're saying yes. Yeah I mean well look and you could say that but everybody gets one right. Everybody gets one Thursday night football game and your Thursday game is Thanksgiving. You know and I appreciate the call. Thank you for the call. You kind of touched you kind of touched a nerve here because Thursday night. Football get so much crap so much grief. When Thursday when Monday night or Sunday night game starts six three okay when I'm through halftime? It's six three and a half. No touchdown scored ten ten six right. It's the Thursday night games like that's Thursday night football. That's Thursday night football for you. You know shouldn't be playing short weeks and all that sort of stuff and yeah and then when Thursday night football game starts with guns blazing well. You know what these guys are tired. I mean wanted playing Thursday night or or are they just forget to slag on Thursday night football because the Games actually fun and good and look at these chips that are on the screen right here. Pretty Damn good bread but nobody ever flags on Thanksgiving Games. Which is the same short week ever. It's the same week hungover from Turkey and all we're all excited about it. Nobody ever complained about a short week on a Thanksgiving Day. Game when it's boring or six three or starts ten six. It's the same short week but we're just happy that they're doing it for our viewing pleasure on Thanksgiving. This is fine. Do it once a year. It's been fine but you. Do you know the whole season now suddenly. It's you know hypocritical Blah Blah Blah. So the lions have as many short weeks games as everybody else and the reason why Dallas plays on onto Thursday nights is because of the new tradition that Dallas plays a Thursday night game the week after Thanksgiving against another. That's playing on Thanksgiving. So it's a full complement of rest for whoever's playing the thanks. Get the the Thursday night after Thanksgiving and it's a way to get Dallas on national television more because seems y'all love watching Dallas Cowboys football shuttle down just a little bit. Thank you very much. Andy in clearwater Florida. Let's take your phone call. What's up Andy Yes I was calling about the Notre Dame Up In this area and every kid Trains GOING TO NOTRE DAME. "Here it can hear those words at some point right there. You know. It's like did you. When they were when they were first born did you toss him into the pool. They'll figure it out. Figure it out. Yep that's exactly what I did that old thing. Hey man so you get a For for those. Who have have seen it. Then you know exactly what I'm talking about those who haven't I mean there's so much I don't want to spoil right now For for season two. So I'll just kind of give you the floor and say you know what dead to me is for you and what you've been informed fans can expect for those who do know what's going on how about that. Yeah Yeah Yeah. Yeah no it's It is a is a spoiler. Yeah it's it's it's a it's a twist and turn heavy show so yeah. The first season was last year and Got Picked up for the second season. I you know I the first season I play Kind of a fun. Douchebag Guy Steve and he'd meets his demise at the end of it. Yes At the hand of the lovely Christina applegate and I thought that was kind of the end of it. I was in for one season and That was done and then the show became a big hit. And of course I add a little foam. Oh and and I was like on my knees grovelling trying to get my worm my way back into the show so I said Liz feldman an email saying hey is there any. You've been googling seeing if you can survive a traumatic head wound crowning if if that is there room for a this guy like of course. Of course she said No. Thank you very much. Nice try. Yeah and so that she came back and was like you know you actually got me thinking and we were trying to figure out a way you know. Bring you back in. I don't WanNa ruin anything for anybody either but I guess there's enough spoilers out there to at least address you know in what capacity. I come back to. What do you think yes absolutely? Yeah you're your twin. Well the twin brother so we went down to classic soap opera. Trump's which you know admittedly is a little side of this sort of Corny like come on. GimMe a break But we sort of leaned into it and had a little fun with it this season. It isn't what I mean but it's a fun show to watch. It's fun show to watch and Linda CARTOLINI's too and she's just dynamite and and Christina applegate. We had here on the show a couple years ago. It's kind of a way James An anchorman reunion every day. That you have right there. Yes it is. Yeah we Christina and I have Worked together Twice before and never seen each other. We never saw each other on anchorman. We never shared a scene together. We also did voice over movie together where we never saw each other either because we just lend our voices to the projects and this is like a way for us to finally worked together for time right in each other's Actual an actual company What was it like on the Anchorman? Set James Gimme good story from that one. You GotTa story from that one. Yeah I it was just watching those guys do their thing. You know those boys Paul and all the guys From big slick but It was amazing. I mean this is like it's rare that you get that opportunity to be a part of a movie or at least the you know the sequel to a film that inspired you And in the comedy world when you're trying to make it as an actor In Hollywood and then it's GonNa come into anchorman to play with those guys. It's like first of all you better like you know you gotta be gotta be sharp but But it was amazing watching. I mean it was the most laid back it was a party. It was like it reminded me of being in high school. And you and your buddies getting together with a camcorder and you know doing you know stupid. Little bits for your own self satisfying amusement dried And that was kind of the journey. Man James Marsden here on the rich. Eisen show a couple more minutes left with you sir and I appreciate you taking the time today On this Wednesday you are from Stillwater Oklahoma. So that it it's an easy. Ask here Right your your college team. We all know who your college team is. Correct that's right. Yeah that's right I although I will say I I will say I was there for and they shouldn't have any effect on my affection for the school but I was there for three semesters to sort of experience. The the social side of going to college fraternity right So my allegiance is still with the cowboys. Come but it but it was never I was never die. You know that Oklahoma is die. Hard of course die hard College College sports and and You know I was more into the theater. Rich I was. I was honing that crap honing that craft as opposed to Because again I imagine. Is that Dallas Cowboys Country Oklahoma right. It's it's it's like half Dallas cowboys have chiefs chief slit right down the middle and I I at the time I didn't really I was. I was very indifferent. I I knew I lean more toward the chiefs. I'm not just saying that. Because they've they've they've been mom's crazy lately but right and you know and and winning but For some reason I just grew up. Not Not vibe and the cowboys I don't know why maybe because so many people in my family like the cowboys I just had that could be it and plus so as mahomes on your fantasy team. Is that why you also because you're you got never got? I never got pat. Moms a friend of mine who joined our league for the first time this year. No sorry last year was trying to draft him early and I was like Nah. Nah You can wait on that guy. The Tenth Eleventh Round and I think he went and like the the eighth round and then of course was the number one quarterback on the year who you're in the league with who are you in a league with anybody namedrop in a league Yeah I lied earlier. Two years ago I was into leaks but now I try to keep it in one leg and it's kind of silly is okay. It's it's it's like the Marvel Superhero action argue. Saying it's like it's Rod. It's Chris Evans. And drill to that guys yes so Evanston reached out to me about five years ago and it was like I know you're into this game You WanNa come join us and I was like With you know sure yeah. It looks like it's like yeah. It's it's Jeremy Renner and then Kaczynski and it's a it's a crazy It's about as as annoyingly. Hollywood is it can get. That's not annoying it all James. I think people are fascinated to see. Who's ass you kicked? So did you win it? Did you know I was second this year though to WHO? Who Want it did win? Oh I forgot who won. James Martin and now Ridge is final hour of the rich Eisen. Show here on this Wednesday. What a Fascinating Hour. We just had here on. Nbc Dave Roberts the manager of the La Dodgers Calling in as Major League Baseball Players Association going back and forth about how they're going to have a playing season in twenty twenty. What he knows and how he's trying to figure out the logistics of it where players will put themselves during a game and and social distancing during a game and how to fill out a lineup card. When there's testing involved in management you know figuring out who's on a roster and Brian Kelly of Notre Dame trying to figure out what training table looks like and what his locker room would look like a weight. Room would look like in the protocols to tell family members parents of kids that they're going to send the Notre Dame what what safety precautions. They're having both guys though telling us all of these things filled with. I don't know we need to see. Both of them. Said they think they're going to have a place season this year. Both of them go to our youtube page YouTube dot com slash rich. Eisen show if you missed any of that James Marsden is about to join us in about twenty minutes time from the net flicks series dead to me. He's a great guy loves his football Right from the middle of our great nation. James Marsden will be calling from the Chris Brockman is a across the aisle as always Mike Del. Tufo get to see the rich. He's one of my favorite players that I got to cover and humans that I got to me. there's really nobody like him and he's got a new podcast. That's coming out later this month. On Friday may twenty second every Friday a new episode of his podcast greatness Will be out there and the host of that show Ray Lewis joining me here on the rich. Eisen show how you doing ray. How're you doing fine? So if your podcast it's called everyday greatness. I'm the first guest right. Correct her on immediately right. You've been around me you've been around me. You know how I operate how I host. I'm a leader. A leader of analysts. Ray I love him my friend how are you? I'm doing I'm doing fine. Everybody healthy and your family everybody. Everybody's doing I'm not going on that. Hey I'll just go right in. I've been wanting to ask you this question. Because everybody's been talking about it with the last dance of Jordan. You've watching this documentary right. I've okay and And how Jordan? The conversation that we're having right now about this doc. is Jordan's leadership and his method. His style of of of demanding From his teammates and how It really wore on him. It seems but he didn't care he basically said if you don't agree with me it's because you haven't won anything. What do you think of when you hear that right? Yeah you know look we. There are so many different Styles of leadership and and take his you know in particular You know that's that leads came from being denied something you know. I mean you go back and research. Michael Jordan's history is one thing to watch it now. Like oh my gosh. I can't be. He was like that. You know it's another thing to read his story enough to understand that one kid that was cut from the basketball team that they said he wouldn't get enough to do it. You know and the things that came along with that and that comes that deals a mentality right and and Zach mentally the lying lying down freaking out Lionel get up and hang out with Zeba alliance take care of his product every everyday and Jordan had a mentality like alliance like he went at it you know is Kobe Bryant had had that had that mentality just and sometimes you can look at it right as being a dictator and really Dan Horse and some of it can can really be viewed that way rich Tell you somebody changed my perspective about that was Michael Terry When my senior coach me and You know there was a time. Br on playing the jets. Never forget it and Mike Nolan was defense. According to the time he called the defense that I knew was not going to work. It wasn't the right defense to be in a run. You know style offense and I'm I'm losing my mind on field just losing my mind and I came to the field and this captured on this island of course on video thing grabs me. He says look at me he says. Look at me and you know I'm heated this time. I'm like losing my mind. He's like looking Mike. Okay so I'm like I'm looking and he's like you can't do this. There's no way you can do that if we get you something but it forever changed my leadership style. Why because I understood that you can't speak to everybody a certain way so when you think about how join the. I'm telling you a lot of that comes from the things that he didn't have what was taken away from him before he was Michael Jordan and that is on he didn't have a plan. B You know and and I'm and I'm telling you like when you think about my podcast like everyday greatness the reason why I'm starting this podcast. Four four that retain. That simple message like don't how many of us still to this day will sit down and question. Bruce Lee to X. Bruce Lee what is great enough. What is what what what what made you turned out on and never turned off right? Good friend of mine. Go home a good friend of all of us. Kobe Bryant right when you want to know what that greatness is like. What what you what? What got you ignited. And it's the same thing with Jordan. It's the same thing with Michael Phelps. Go down the line of all of these incredible stories of these. These athletes are men who've done so many things but we don't have the essence of it. And so when you watch this last ride with Jordan all you saw with the essence of I don't have a plan. B. There's no there's no other option for me. This is what I'm I'm built to do this. I'm going to do this. And there's no other direction but straightforward to get this done and look some people could call the heart so you need to call the crazy but if you if you get results the way that they had. They got results lists. I don't never condone disrespecting a man to a certain lakes But there are certain leaders that will built with one mentality and that is i. Don't have a second ops. My Kids I've talked to people around the world about that all the time you know social media and these new outlets and they given US plan B rich when I was growing up. I didn't have a plan. B There's no plan B. Plan I had with the man sitting. Sit Nick the cross. She can't beat me. Why because you can't outwardly. What would that mean thing? Same many jumpers than Michael Jordan shot behind that how same jumpers that. Kobe Bryant shot behind that house link. Nobody else was down when nobody else is buying them out. And those ms the essence of of what a leader that you can't. It's almost like you can't mold that again. Well I mean yes go and it all comes down to it though Ray is that you did at some point realize maybe another first ballot hall of fame from your position how to get in your face to kind of a show you the mirror in that regard So you know the question is looking at Jordan and you know guy or is he not an ice sky. Was He good team? It was not a good teammate. Again I don't know if you saw one of the documentaries over this weekend him recounting how relentless he felt. He had to be the fact that he had no plan b. warm he kind of broke down at the end thinking about how he might be viewed Ray in. I'm saying he. And that's the point in the middle of my career where Mike Sinclair gave me a different outlook on what leadership is and right after that day right after that actually mean him talk about it all the time every time we see each other but the next conversation we had from that point rich instead of him teaching me football and how to make this play. Make that play. We started meeting every Monday at the film. Study men starting being in our own. Linebacker ruined nothing about football. He brought his Bible open up the Bible and started teaching the principles of what a man should be like in the way of Mansa. Carry himself and the way a man a man of humility that love's guy speaks to the people and I'm telling you like in the middle of my career in the middle of my crickets. Of course you know when you're passing it you just go right. Is Sonic Bad Enough?
"We waited three extra months to get that toothy blue hedgehog on the big screen but was the waiting worth it today will be reviewing sonic the hedgehog and by Proxy Olive Garden and Zillow joining us for another episode of Film House. You guys This is a big one big big anticipated so big that there is no sponsor this week we could've said why do it gets less views than other videos and sponsors repeatedly during to sponsor this they don't ask now. We can't possibly have bias unless it's olive garden or Zillow or maybe Amazon Toyota trucks I'm joined here. I'm your host James Homes for this podcast early unbiased podcast review and then. I'm joined here by police Adam. I'm the the two biggest sonic fans. Could I honestly think you're looking at the three of us going? This guy fronts clearly a sonic. There's tails knuckles over there But I don't like to put labels on people okay. We are going to just jump right train. But we're going to your cream. You don't WanNa be wouldn't be amy now. You're GONNA be details. This cat tale sounds terrible until you look at the other options So yeah we're talking about Sonic the Hedgehog or we get into thoughts and opinions. Well we want to give the basic plot less. How does it make sense that sonic is here in the year? Two Thousand Twenty. I'm talking about like realistically like this movie. Come about sonic. The hedgehog is the story of a blue magical hedgehog who was born in another dimension with magical powers the power of running fast and generating electricity from running so fast moving so fast static cling something like that And lives as a baby hedgehog for a couple years on an island that has loops Under the tutelage the popular sonic character long claw. Which is now. I've never heard of before. I did see some comments. Online people like they really botched. The story is that I didn't know if that was part of the actual origin story. Yeah no we'll get into that about whether or not they botched sonic lore okay but But yes until until in pursuit of that power Sonic is sent away through the power. They have magical rings. And if you throw the ring and you think of a place then you can go to that place. Oh Sonic is sent through with the rings to safety in. That place happens to be Earth Montana. Montana a town called greenhills which I'm just going to tell you drove me crazy because it's green hill zone They they thought it was Green Hills Zone. No no that was green hills. One they will they call it green hills the whole time hill. I guarantee you. There was a discussion between writers were they said greenhills versus Greenhill. Sounds like more of a name of a small town adding that s makes it sound more like a small town actual name than just calling at Greenhill? I think Greenhill is better though I agree with you. Listen I think someone had a discussion to go. But what would make sense? And when you're dealing with the blue hedgehog running fast right so anyway. He's in Green Hills a phrase that they repeat a thousand times over the course of the movie just in case you got it. He Plays Ping Pong on hilltop road. Which is another just random level that they picked Can we goes on so anyway. It's a very small town and not a lot going on but sonic has male life for himself although in isolation and he's kind of lonely sometimes but also has really bad. Add so it's hard keeping track of what he's actually feeling at any given moment got great J. O. Dan Got a great J. O. Dan James Marsden is a cop. He appears to be one of the two cops that work in the town. That's very small town but he hates it. He hates the people Can't wait. He wants to go somewhere. Where the action is. He says. It's real boring babysitter to the inhabit. This town because he's helping ducks crossed the street. He's cleaning people's gutters. He wants to actually help save. Someone's he wants to do some genuine police work. And behold Hedgehog falls right on his lap and so so then Sonic in a fit of loneliness starts to run in a circle so fast that he has magical electricity powers that caused the government to take notice so the government sends one of their unclear. He's like a consultant Kind of like an maybe science officer maybe like a contract. Scientists that the military had got had given the like What are they called like a grant I grant that they dislike then like well? We need this work done. So we're GONNA get water or whatever but then they realize like Oh. This person is very unhinged. Yeah all they. Don't stop them or anything. You just see. There's a couple generals that have meaning. They're like sending robotic. Botany goes and then a robot. Nick does whatever he wants to the rest of the movie. Either way what he's trying to do he's trying to figure out what caused this thing quickly finds out that it's caused by this hedgehog talking hedgehog and then the race begins because sonic is like. I need to get out of here He tries to use his rings but Fails the rings accidentally get lost in San Francisco and so now he and James Marston Travel have to go on a road trip to San Francisco. Known Writer Rings. So that we tonic and cyclops must race and their Toyota pick-up trucks on sonically gives out this electromagnetic pulse that robot contract so he's like constantly on his tail. Unintended yes So that's that's the basic premise of this movie about a video game from the nineties Let's let's start with some non spoiler he stuff sure. I don't think this is good. Here's the thing is not good. It's not bad it's just sort of is which is I think it's just it kind of depends on what you want out of anything. I guess like the kids move. If you hate your life so much that forgetting you know that you have to go to the grocery store or shower that night or any sort of responsibility is better for you than just then be having to be aware of those things so you would rather see a movie that has moving things and you might forget about for an hour and forty minutes that you forget about pain. Then yes I would agree. That this is definitely worthwhile I don't know that makes it a good movie. It right currently has a sixty five percent on rotten tomatoes but a lot of the reviews seem to be. We thought this was going to be way worse. Which isn't exactly a positive review In my opinion I I saw so many kids to and sonic onesies who looked really tired last night. Their parents dragged into the He did the thing where he's sitting at the toilet with his shirt. And then they were. They were so excited about the potential of a sequel. Yeah so I was like well. That's probably who it's four was going to say it is. It's a kids movie but again we kind of got into this with our detective. Peak itchy review. The worst really stinks for me when we have a you know a subject matter. That's thirty years old twenty five thirty years old And then it's like well let's make a movie about it. That's fine but it's like and it should only be kids and that's kind of how sonic feels but the movie going audience people who are going to see they needed ride that balance right So they need to go. Hey Remember had Jim Carey acted in the ninety S. Wouldn't you love to see that for an hour? Yeah and you go. Oh Yeah I guess. This is sort of nostalgic and a weird. It's a weird way you you hit the nail on the head last night when you describe it is a sort of fish out of water at a time It's like it's really weird to be seeing this movie in here twenty twenty. It's like we dug up a time capsule arguably you could say the same thing about Paddington. Though when those Paddington movies came out I was like I remember being you know three years old and we had Paddington bear and we would watch old Paddington. But like I hadn't heard anything about it for twenty years I personally still maintain from a previous film house. Already talked about it. That the best version of this movie and I think you guys would agree would have been sonic and robotic chasing each other through the worlds of Sonic and the you know aunts Larry Cast of characters being other sonnet characters. Like I still think. That's the the ideal version of this movie. I mean there's a lot of could have been better for I mean there's a certain cold hard realities about these movies. Which is you know. It probably would have cost a lot more money if they wanted to. Make a fully animated you know bear on. Yeah animation. Interestingly enough all the trailers for movies that led up to this movie were all animated films. Like they were all there was like rumble. Which is a monster fighting thing? They were all fully animated films and I was like. Oh man the Tel Kinda wish. Sonic I wish they made it. Sonic movie that was animated as opposed to what this is which is a template. Like there's there's about one hundred of these movies just sitting around some executives office and someone can go in and do find replace whatever character with sonic. There are positive things about this movie. Yeah can you say more negative things? I sure well would you rather I guess. Would you rather do the negatives the positives I You can do the PA. You do positive mentioned it. Jim Carey is You know a Connecticut forced to watch when he's ONSCREEN Makes no difference what movie he's in? He's going to just have fun with it. Yeah I do think that there is a more fun and Zany and like robotics. Of course. He's he's an mad villain but there's Zanier wackier written character there with with wackier and and Were Madcap things to do than what he was doing which was just like shooting stuff at Sonic Lake. He got to laugh at me. Oh man there's a line it's it's in the trailers button when his assistant brings him his his cat is a and he's like. I love the way you make him. I still think that's so funny in the delivery. He's still I. I'm pretty sure they were like. Hey Jim you do whatever you want. Yeah where you're the funny guy like we wrote these lines and you can choose the read them or not But the do your thing dude. You're living cartoon. How
Review: Why wait? 'Sonic the Hedgehog' worth rushing to see
"Sonic the sonic the hedgehog okay this is this this got pushed back several months on the release schedule because people took people took one look at the sonic as it was animated not just the teeth but the the the cabs yeah yeah yeah yeah I don't remember that he rather rather to human muscular legs was was kind of creepy under the blue for this is a live action animated hybrid where sonic pops in from another planet lives amongst us in in a small town in Montana in hiding because people want people and other aliens want his power and but once with one time at one point when he sort of what's his power loose and causes a blackout across the entire Pacific Northwest suddenly the military's interested and this is their expert doctor I've Robotnik and enter the reason to see the movie Jim Carrey his first comic Roland says here to say this is he has one one year unless you count that that dark TV series he's doing getting getting I wouldn't count yeah the last time you did a straight out comedy was dumb and dumber to that's right six years ago and each boy we miss him really he has he's always out here I mean what he's on and he's on here if it's worthwhile and he's a reason to see this movie because otherwise it's it's basically you know a a broke triple James Marsden and a blue ball did not interest yeah I wish we did that with hop which is

Knowing that that is something that is not real but she believes it is real because she feels it so then you start to ask the question what is real if i feel it if i if if every fiber of my being pulls me towards that thing the mets my own reality you know are we programmed are we. He plays a sentient robot on the sci-fi series westworld and i asked if he fears two years a i. I feel that my fear is directly. <hes> related to how much i know oh i should be hearing so i mean i guess that's when everything so that's good that's true training and good answer so the short answer there is i don't know much gotcha about that and i kind of prefer not to this is the i would say hey i. I'm mostly fearless of a._i. Buck doc okay good that being said that would make me feel no no no no no so that being said most scientific advances people fear because they don't understand them whereas a._i. The more you understand more. It's like opposite of the rest of these right. It's what i'm saying. The more you know what it can do is like oh my gosh well. That's why that ooh ooh. Maybe that's why i don't know because i feel like my god is telling me that what you said was the more you know about. This more scared to be and by. Are we going down this road for what doc to show that we can or to what is it to better the human experience to some degree right ideally yeah but but at some point you put them both on the scales choosing. How do we weigh the benefits and risks of they are. I think it's important that we divide a into hype so we often speak about artificial intelligence as if it's one singular singular entity coach bruce from but you know you're thinking of risks versus benefits. You have to look at different sectors of a._i. So you might wanna think about medicine. Can you might wanna think about warfare. You might wanna think about something called super intelligence and then one thing that people forget is that artificial intelligence isn't just going to be making smarter smarter. Robots artificial intelligence will be going in our head so technology brain ships will be enhancing humans so we need to ask whether we want that for the answer is no. It's a pretty simple answer could have put a tip your head. No thank you the fears that might turn on humans because this is a recurring nightmare for everyone but you're closer shoot yeah so super intelligent a._i. Has been in the news a lot lately. It's defined as a hypothetical form of a._i. That out thinks humans in every respect scientific reasoning mathematical abilities everything so the worry is that should we create general purpose human level intelligence very quickly after that we would develop super intelligence and then the game is over because how do you control something. It's vastly smarter than you you. Are i mean you can't build in as three laws because the i will be able to rewrite way right so i'll start talk. Fans fans have their own questions on this topic and that brings us of course to cosmic query. He's so we took questions from fans on the greatest fears for the future chirp artificial intelligence so check. You got the questions where we go from <hes> ted bolt on facebook..

"It's Conway show. What an anniversary here with his. Oh, J Simpson. You remember where you were when OJ was tooling around trying to watch the game. Trying to watch the NBA finals game own J Simpson. I was doing the same thing I was up in, in Canada. Right. I was up in Toronto. Working on a show called boogies diner. Anybody anybody? Oh, that's right. And James Marsden, right? Yeah. That's right, buddy. How'd you know that I've just a huge James Marsden fan? Okay. Anyway, to twenty fifth anniversary. Is it the twenty fifth anniversary of the chase or the murder chase the chase? The chase took twenty five years, but I am finally sick of OJ Simpson stuff. I am too, right? I think after seeing that many series that ride. Jail now. He's going to be on Twitter, though. He's going to be on Twitter stuff in there to play. It's crazy. Is he? Right. Why would you wanna go anywhere where somebody can trap you into having to confess again? And he's too thin skinned for Twitter. Right. Oh, yeah. No, no. He's already getting into people's DM's. Okay. I'll tell you what Twitter is whenever you. Have you put a video out there? Right. It could be of a baby, you know, saving a kitten from a traffic accident. And then she turns around and she wins the lottery. And she donates all the money to cancer research. Right. And like, wow, that's unbelievable. And there's going to be three or four four people go f- that baby. And I hope they all die in a car. So it's all, you know. So that's why they tell you, if you're sensitive never read the comments section under your video, because there will be somebody in there, no matter how positive your video is somebody will wish death on you or the children. Whoever correct. Your grammar. Those people are our history. I think people are learning not to do that. But I put out a video. Of my, my, when my dad, I think my daughter was two or three. And I bought one of those electric actually Dave Hardin gave me a gift. It was electric car for my daughter to tool around in, but because she was so small, she couldn't control the Carcelle, so as remote control, and she would drive around, so she got out of it. And my dad was controlling it and foam ran or over with the car, right? It didn't hurt it was just it was funny. So I put up on video on YouTube. I think it's still on YouTube as it gets hit by a car, right? I can't I can't tell you how many people are saying there's a real car. I thought it was she really got hurts a toy car. You've got to put that description, you idiot. Okay. All right. So I just allowed the. The comments section, but they tell you, if you ever, if you're thin skin, or even if you don't want to hear the negative comments don't read the comments section of anything you put up a YouTube anything. Well, Twitter is just all comment section. That's all it is. The whole thing is a comment section, and they do not hold back. They hate everybody. They hate everything. It's great. But so he's gonna come on Twitter. He's gonna be pissed and then he's going to say, okay. So what if I did do it? You know, he's going to get into one of those arguments, because the first thing that someone's going to say OJ, why don't you just admit that you killed those people? Right. And he's got to read that every single day, you know, goes on, you know, you got new Twitter know what if there's a indicator got. Get a notification. When you have mentioned yes, so he's going to go on. Oh, hey, maybe there's some hot girl in Texas who wants to meet me. And the first thing he does is OJ. Why don't you admit to the killing those people man? O J Simpson house, your house hunting. Well, there's a guy who posted a video of exchange in his direct messages with OJ and OJ's saying, hey, could you take down this account? It's fake, and it's a parody account. The parody account is at killer OJ Simpson. This is great. Let's get into all of this here. This is unbelievable. OJ simpson. Twenty five years ago twenty five years ago, I think Bonda wasn't even born twenty one fifty in the afternoon at Parker center. Downtown Los Angeles. What are the most wash the moments in United States? History is about to begin the Los Angeles Police Department right now. Is actively searching for Mr Simpson. How do you feel about like a sad romance movie? Like that. I mean, that's like the maybe the only one I've ever seen. I don't really watch. No that's fair. That's the one that everyone is everyone had to see that one. If you wanted to be a person in the early 'oughts you had to have seen that quite. Yeah. Okay. I'd also say twenty seven dresses is a great one. Even though I don't love Katherine Heigl in that movie. She actually does a really great job. That's James Marsden. Oh, yeah. He should be at every com. Oh, he is great. He's got a look to him. He's like handsome, but also could sell goofy the American Hugh Grant with dancing and singing skills. Oh, right. Okay. Okay. The new designing women will follow the next generation of sugarbakers with a crop of new young female designers at an Atlanta interior design for the project, which has been in the works for several months of ABC looks like it comes from the same studio that produced the original and Sony Pictures television and sources say original cast member full occasionally, stop by and to take on new roles in the series. I think it's fun. It's interesting what these reboots it's up for grabs after they figure out if they're owned by a specific network in any capacity, then it's up for grabs and it gets the Land Rover land so ABC is the tone, correct. "Look, I, if you could have seen the face all may wish she said they weren't terrible. But they were tolerable. Sure, I guess. Okay. Let me rephrase that. The first one was tolerable. Smurfs and the first chipmunks I haven't seen any of the Smurfs movies, and I've only seen part of the first Alvin and chipmunks we. As a matter of fact, the amber went to a concert in Detroit. You'll see felt Phillips earlier this year. And next morning we were at the hotel and that will what was playing when. Oh, my watching chip sounds like. What is this? I was like, I go to a concert listening to fill fill abso- night, and I wake up to Alvin and chipmunks. Actually to be fair. Philip Philip's concert was actually not that bad. He you converted me Mr. Phillips. You put on a good show. I'll give you that any who. So the reason I brought this up was just this was just another opportunity for me to just make fun of James Marsden. I liked dreams of Mars. I do gotta love the cyclops I do by his career is so like sad and depressing to me. It's like it's so because he is. He has that that leading main look and a good actor, but he just can't seem to get good roles. It's like he's either type casted as cyclops or he's just in some other Rando movies. I kind of liked him in twenty seven dresses offer. He was being he played that snarky reporter, he played that well, this one. Legs it how in the early nineties he played that snarky cocky, character played it. Well. It was funny to me about this whole thing is I can totally see like James Marsden like bursting into like his agents office in like does Yellen home like, okay, you got me in your damn CG hitch. Exactly. Just just I could see his whole life unraveling in like his agents office like. I was cyclops. Okay. I was in the notebook God. Damn, you got me playing Tom the cot in the sonic the hedgehog movie like are you fucking serious? I was in twenty. Seven dresses. Okay. And you couldn't get me nothing better than Tom, the cop. It's like you don't even have a last name. Well, they okay. They did say it was like what chows ski or something like that, but it's like they're going to just call them Tom, the cop. That's that's his name in the script, I'm sure. And it's just going to be Tom Cobb, and I was like, oh, for James Marsden. I'm like, I, I feel so bad for you because he was cyclops in three, three of the x.. Men. Movies. Yeah, it wasn't just like, oh, it was the first one. Now he's not the rebooted cycling cyclops in the x. men x. two end. The last stand Stanford, some bullshit. But. I don't. I don't. Overall, I don't have high hopes for this movie. Jim Carey is gonna play, Dr robot, Nick, or egg may or whatever the fuck you want to call them. So I mean, that's kind of cool. Yeah. So Mike, that's kind of cool interesting to see if they're going to fatten him up for it. Oh, yeah. You know, Jim Carey and family wear a costume. The man loves costume. Yup. Gonna say Jim Carey and Johnny. Johnny Depp. Yes, they loved them some costumes. So anytime you can bring out a wardrobe to them, they lose they fucking mind. Can you imagine the Riddler walk in with like four hundred pounds and easily waddling the Grinch? Yeah, he had a big weird gut nets had him on a whole suit in that. And then he was in the series of unfortunate events lemony snicking. I'm trying to think some though he was in like a makeup or something where he didn't look like the mask. Yeah. Like I said, I could totally see him doing a plus. I wanna see, Jim Carey do something funny again, I feel so bad for him. Just read a article about twelve. What is twelve actors and actresses that don't get cast anymore for anything. And he was. He was like number four, then I think I think it's hard to because Jim Carey's had a career for so long about being a funny guy in for a while. He was kinda trying to curb that because he started doing movies like the majestic room in show and like the number twenty three. He's trying to more serious and he was good in all these movies, but I don't know..
James Marsden to Star in 'Sonic the Hedgehog' Movie
"Sonic movie has started production and we almost talked about this last week, but we had so much stuff to cover last week that I was like, oh, we'll get to. Eventually I was gonna say anything like, he's like, you know, we did. We really didn't have a lot this week, so it kinda worked out. Like eight con filled in nicely to Slad in. But okay, so I'm getting this from comic book movie dot com. Say, having started production only a week ago, the sonic the hedgehog film is already delving into nostalgia hills zone. A name familiar to fans of the franchise will be making its live action debut during the hybrid film, the location of Greenhills, which set the tone for sonic as the first games level. As the games I level seems to be under the watch of sheriff, Tom, which hausky played by James Marsden the film's human lead. Now, there's a couple of pictures of Mr. Marsden l. k. onset. They just literally within. Like a week or so, you know, just started filming. So you know, they're kind of doing principal for tiger fy and stuff at this point. But this is Mr. Marsden as Tom, the Cup. It's like, okay for anyone who hasn't seen any set photos. He's just like in like a sheriff's outfit like that Brown light Brown combo me myself and Irene, he kind of looks like Jim Carrey does. He does? He does. And then here's a another. One of them. Just, you know, fixing his little cowboy hat. Just like, you know, I don't remember a cop in sonic. It's it's going to be because they call it a hybrid movie is going to be like a live action CG tight. Okay. So like the cream for Robin Kennedy thing, think Alvin and the chipmunks project probably somewhere or like the Smurfs movie or something like that somewhere weren't

"That would be so deadpool do we really is it really eddie need for criticism at all now that pool but this this is all a good point and i you can can we do better than than james marsden sunglasses thinking into better than cyclops in general it's just such a nothing character to really like cyclops over the years alex has a really good essay in grantland twenty fourteen called difficult expedite cyclops it's very much worth digging up up in called in our our our household cyclops the the keen phipps household as sort of the you know the easily annoyed rules enforcer of the house i i saw you know it's the made it he has grown over the years to which x men or the other members got that far actually you can have clubs by himself defined by his interactions with other people i just a nearly side note i threw the book lille defence fund i ordered a copy of x men grand designed bad pits which is really cool comic but he was doing a limited number for this charity of sketches in the middle in the opening you know of the book and you don't get to choose but my man my man cyclops showed up my copy this letter is a really good point and i think it's sort of an unfortunate outgrowth of how much of the current film comics landscape comes out of krier characters that were created somewhere between the forties and the sixties there's so much stuff that like watching the mc you navigate having characters with names like proxima midnight or having like some of the some of the things that came out of the specific eras of comics when these characters were invented it's like if you want to keep the fans if you want to respect your legacy you have to keep all of these elements but at the same time some of these elements just look really really goofy today and some of them looked kind of problematic so like i am still waiting for an x men film to focus as much on storm as like the that character is worth given how many interesting changes have she's gone through how many really cool narratives have been built around her i do think that.
