"Size and length and he can defend but then can be like a three d guy that can make jump shots because I think you need to put some shooters next to James LeBron. And I was having this conversation with my colleague that twenty four seven sports, Josh Gershon, and he was talking about how he thought Cam, and reddish would be a good fit next to LeBron. Gave that a little more thought. And I think it makes a lot of sense because of the shot making ability and the truth is. Cameron Cam, reddish has never been an alpha dog. And I almost think he doesn't he doesn't want to be the man, but I think he's more comfortable being your second third option. Out of a third option. Is really third option. So I almost think that, that could be a good fit. It wouldn't surprise me if they go in Cova route, I think those would be that's the next tier to me. Yeah. Those guys autograph completely. I know a ton of people didn't get the garland play Vanderbilt that much because he hurt his knee early on in the season but he can shoot flat out let fly he puts he puts the ball in the hole. That's for sure. I mean Jerry ver-, and both the Andrea hunter we saw them both national championship. They both have that winning mentality and pedigree deandre hundred man. He really turned it on and the national championship game. He was awesome. He was also in the championship game. And I think the thing, that's like. One of the reasons he's become such a good prospect outside of just the good physical. The ridiculous physical gifts is I've been impressed with his growth as a shooter. As a freshman he shot. Thirty thirty eight point two percent on fifty five attempts this season up to one hundred and five attempts forty three point eight percent from three that's a clip. Yeah. And. Six eight two hundred twenty five pounds. It can guard threes and fours, your, there's a lot of Al, you know, it doesn't handle it, well and he's not gonna break you down. But he can guard and he can make shots. And I think there's a lot of value in that. Yeah, definitely. And another kid, I knew a lot of people are now starting to talk about because he really came on towards the end of the year. Koby white. Do you think they I mean before the season started? I mean he wasn't even looked at as a first round draft pick. I mean it was you were looking at your little from that team and saying he was going to be in the top ten right now. Kobe white is really kind of propelled him his up. Yeah. If you look at mock drafts a lot of them have them going somewhere in the top ten going seven Chicago. Yeah. In and he, he helped himself as much as anybody, I would, you know, John rant helped himself a ton Zayn way. away. I guess a lot of these guys did. I wasn't expected them. One pick cutting the season. Now he is job rant was was kind of projected more late lottery. Now, he's going number two RJ Barrett was expected to be this. Good. Koby white wasn't expected to be a top ten pick. And I think we're he. He just plays so hard man. I love watching him play plays hard he competes. He brings energy. He can gourd. He got this elite speed. He's almost too fast..

"Do. Lebron James LeBron James is correct. How? Lebron's. Jane, remember when I asked him what was on his ipod that was at the when he won the. Oh on his ipod. That was at ESPN. Yes. Oh, yeah. When I interviewed him there. I remember that. Yeah. He started singing maniac. Yeah. And he got the lyrics wrong because he's like, yeah. She's a maniac on the go. That's not the worst. And then you saw his cell phone when we were at the Sports Illustrated sportsman year, and he had that photoshopped picture. Yeah. He had. So he was going to be the sportsman of the year and standing there talking to LeBron and he had his phone, and he he had his phone checking something and his screensaver was Michael Jordan guarding him. Even though it never happened. I go way way. What's that? And and he said, oh, it's my screen saver. And it was like, well, I remember Richard Deitz. You didn't even see it. Richard Deitz was the media guy was Sports Illustrated. I told him about it and at that event. And then Richard Deitz wrote about is if he's the one that saw it on LeBron's phone. Thank richard. We told you about that credit your sources. Yeah. Of course, that's when beyond say in JC came they. Slid at eight they relate. Yes. Coach K was there. Yeah. Right before the ceremony say and Jay z slid in a row one. And then I said, hey, I we we waited for you isn't that the same one where there's a picture of mclovin he's actually nine rows behind LeBron. But it looks like they're sitting one row behind him because McLellan's right up by his shoulder. That was actually the second LeBron sportsman there he wanted twice in five years. I think did. But that was the one where they had wait. How do you want to twice? I got a double check that. I think he wanted twice has has anybody else wants sportsman of the year twice. Let me check. I never I didn't realize that. That used to be a great event because sportsman of the year was a big deal. And I remember asking somebody. Because you see people get nominated or people suggest people should be sports Illustrated's sportsman of the year. And I have somebody I go what about Lance Armstrong and the reaction was quick. And it was one word no way is this before he got caught. This was before he got caught. Why would people say no at that? Because they they from what I was told. They they thought that he was going to test positive that everybody's gonna find out that he was thirty is this then learning McGwire Sosa cover. I don't know because I originally thought that that you know, you gave it to Sosa McGwire. And we know what the history there is. But he wanted in two thousand and two and then I wondered if was he going to win it again. And then I was told no he's he's not going to win again. And I was like, okay. And then I pressed it a little bit further with somebody who was working with this guy. And he said, you know, we're just worried that this is going to all blow up in in our faces. Yes, appalling Tiger Woods went sports in the year. Ninety six he was an amateur. And you just went pro he wanted again in two thousand is he the leader in the clubhouse this year. Pardon the pun. Are they still doing sportsman of the last year Golden State Warriors year before altuve and what with Houston year before the Bron, James Serena Williams, Madison Bumgarner Peyton Manning, LeBron James Brown and twelve and sixteen okay? Yeah. Mclovin. Yeah. I guess tiger. Sportsman of the year. It's a combination of things right too. It's also it's a great Eric. It's one of the great comeback stories JJ watt with the charity. Yes. And didn't even do it on the field. Yeah. And I totally understand that with the amount of the millions that he raised. But I I don't I don't know. You don't hear much about sports Illustrated's sportsman of the year? Yes. You could maybe see a women's World Cup member depending on how. Well, they do sneaking in there new or they like to give it to a team. The US women's soccer team won at nine hundred ninety nine champion. Yeah. Like the Red Sox? They want it. Golden State Warriors. It they like the team thing. Yeah. Fritzy? How could you not give it to tiger fans to win the PGA championship and finished a strong the rest of the year? I don't know who would be it would leap over it depends because you never think of this until they start bringing up these names. And then you go on. That's right. And they'll be people that were into may right now, you got you know. A few months here club. I hope it's not Boston sports because I'm getting so sick. It's unbelievable. God the Celtics loss. Yeah. The Bruins Bruins get their Red Sox patriots. I mean, there's Tommy factor to you want to say L. He's going out. We got to give it to him. But that he's not leaving by way, your speech your bread for your interview with Brett farve at the sports. But that's that was hysterical. My gosh. He flipped me off. What did you say? If I remember he was he was like, half laughing half. Not sure. Well, far far had a new suit on and he many I guess they had to buy it for him because he didn't have a suit when he showed up, and they said, oh, you gotta have a suit. So they bought it for him like an hour before he showed up. It's still had the the the tag on it. And I go you might want to take the tag off your suit Brett, and he didn't realize it was on there. And then he had his hand down. And he flipped me new off Zeki summer mini house. base..

Kevin Durant: 'I Just Don't Trust' Media; 'I Have Nothing to Do with the Knicks'

"Well, we're talking a lot about Kevin Durant. And what happened last night Durant had not spoken to the media for eight days that ended last night the warriors smoked the San Antonio Spurs. And after the game Durant sat down and spoke with or you might wanna say spoke to the media here was Durant. Pushing back at a column in the ass by Ethan shrouds. You gotta do Ethan Strauss who come in here. Yeah. Just give his whole opinion on stuff and make it seem like it's coming from me. And he just walking around here. Don't talk to nobody just walk in here. And survey is something like that. And now. Yeah, pollen on me because I don't wanna talk to you about that nothing to do with the Knicks don't know who traded porzingas. I got nothing to do. With me. I'm trying to play basketball coming here. Every day actually about free agency is my teammates. My coaches roundup the fans about it. Let us play basketball that's all along sand. And now I wanna talk to you is a problem with me. Woman grow up. Yeah. You grow up. Moreover, I come here and go to work every day on 'cause no problems. I played it right away or try to play the right way. Try to be the best player can be every possession. What's the problem? What am I doing here until the grow up part? I think people would have listened to that and said he's mostly being reflective, and he's trying to figure out how to handle this tough situation that he's in with everybody talking about New York and him being a Nick. But then when he says grow up, and he says, yeah, you and he's literally talking to one individual, which is Ethan Strauss. That's a little condescending. And that's anger. And that's obviously frustration coming through in Durant. Just sounds awful, especially when he gets to that point of that comment. But he he wasn't finished here. He is on why he avoided speaking to the media. Why do I gotta talk to you? Tell me is that going to help me do my job better. Talk. I just don't trust time. Anytime. I say something is get twisted up and throwing out in so many different publications. Tried to tell me down my words, I say so when I don't say nothing surprising. I just want to play ball. I want to go to the gym and go home. That's all that a problem. I mean, how are you planning house a team plane? I'm done. Don't care about that. I just asked you. I laugh every time. I hear that the ending of that, you know, you don't care about that. I just asked you and good night storms off defensive angry. And I understand why he's frustrated I truly do when your name is all over the internet and all over Twitter and people are talking about what you intend to do. And how you feel without you telling people specifically what you intend to do. And how you feel it can be frustrating, but the defensiveness and the anger doesn't help. And let's remember that Durant. He's part of the problem as to why this drama exists in the NBA when he decided to go to Golden State. He helped this move along. This is not going to end. It's not going to go away. Reporters are going to continue to do their job. They're going to continue to talk to people ask questions. Ask durant. The tough questions. And his job is primarily basketball. But when you're the face of a franchise. He's one of many and Golden State. He would be the face if he goes to New York. Yeah. It's part of the job. It's part of your responsibility to have to answer some questions in every once in a while at least every once in a while, it's not going to be just about basketball. So that's Katie last night. The other NBA soap opera is of course, Anthony Davis. And where he's going to end up the trading deadline in the NBA is now just under ten hours away, three PM eastern standard time. We'll find out if Davis is still a pelican or not. And when I look at this situation between New Orleans and LA, I believe and this has been my belief from the very beginning this entire Davis to Lakers scenario was first created and then pushed by clutch sports, Rich, Paul and LeBron James. Lebron James is one hundred percent calculated some people try to act as if he is almost naive to some of these things he's not he's calculated. He understands he went back to Cleveland because he knew Cleveland had the pick that they needed to move to Minnesota to bring in Kevin love. He knew going back to Cleveland. He would be part of a super team. Kyrie Irving was already there. He knew how things were set up that they would be able to get love. And he understood that a LeBron Kevin love and Kyrie Irving trio would do some damage in the Eastern Conference. He also understood what was happening when he made his decision when he went to Miami. He's always making calculated decisions. There's nothing wrong with that. He's meticulous. He's methodical. And he's well thought out. So if you think LeBron had no part of this whole story, then I think actually you're the one being naive. He's cal. Rich Paul is calculated. And when you look at the timeline, it all makes sense, right? There was that dinner between Davis and LeBron then you add kyri publicly apologized to LeBron. Then LeBron goes on social media, literally singing, his heart out. It's a Kyrie Irving. Then you have all the Irving. Rumors. Oh, he might want to go to LA. You might want to go to New York. Then you have Davis come out with his list of teams his preferred destinations with really only one team with the assets that can make a deal which oh just happened to be the Los Angeles Lakers. And then the other night you had bench gate that was fun. Lebron has three chairs in between him. What's happening who should he move close to his teammates should one of his teammates move close to him? Where's Rajon Rondo sitting? It's been calculated by LeBron and clutch sports to get Davis to L A. And that's just it's obvious. But this off court game has not been one-sided. Here's Rachel Nichols. And Brian Windhorst discussing an interesting theory on ESPN's, the jump do you think that they were upset enough? I have no knowledge. I'm just throwing out a question that they were upset enough with what they have made clear they felt like was tampering and they felt like they were going into reach in after their player, and 'cause all this disruption in the middle of the season when they thought they had at least to this summertime. Do you think that they never intended to really engage with the Lakers that much? I kept putting out publicly all these trade offers. So that we saw last night it would ruin their team chemistry at least temporarily disrupt all their young guys make things miserable for this team. Is that possible? It's such as possible. It's what happened. I know that the pelicans put us let's go now the pelicans had a method to their madness. And the way this went. I love that theory take that theory injected into my veins, I love that theory from Rachel Nichols. The pelicans were upset about the tampering. So they set their part of this whole thing up saying, yeah, you know, we'll entertain a trait. Sure. Give us a call magic. Magic calls them every single time. He calls them New Orleans. Del damps the GM says nine not enough. But I'll give you this not enough. But I'll give you this not enough. How about this? No, thanks. Okay. Well, I'll I'll I'll also throw in this. I need more magic. I need more. I love that theory. Love it to try to get into the fabric of the Lakers in bother their youth. That's that's a juicy theory. And if it's true in Windhorst knows an awful lot as we know that it means that both of these teams are throwing food at each other. We we have a food fight west coast, east coast or more, you know, southeast throwing food across the country at each other right hotdogs hamburgers getting tossed, but the critical question the most important question. No matter how you feel about the drama who started the drama who continued the drama what if LA doesn't get Anthony Davis. What happens then? What if all this work by clutch, sports, and LeBron fails what if Davis stays in New Orleans what if Davis gets dealt to Boston on July first because Boston decides to trade Jason Tatum? What if

So we were at pelican shoot around today and Alvin gentry who is one of the great guys in the NBA. Back legs back. Nice, dude. All that kind of stuff. Didn't even have to be asked a question before he launched into. Oh, yeah. It's tampering distinction at all. Because there's they're seeing that that relationship between LeBron Rich Paul is so close does that impact. Or so now we're talking about relationships. What does that have to do with anything is either the rule ours? Not the road. Okay. So that's the way it is. You know, we can sit here and talk about it all day. It is. Why would why didn't why would it not be? What else are they gonna side? Executives say would it be tampering? No, that's VS is tampering this tampering and social we start having a decide what why don't we try on the bra? No. But I'm just saying that, you know, why is it not tampering players the saying. I don't really care to be honest with that last part was ally Alvin gentry one hundred percent cares about things that impact whether or not Anthony Davis ends up staying in New Orleans. I think that part we gonna agree with Andy he said before earlier in this week because you may have noticed..

"Heard of goes by the name of LeBron James LeBron Lakers taken on the nuggets in Denver. And this one was ugly early second quarter nuggets seven point lead. And look at your mom Murray guys fly by and then he's waving as they passed. Take a look at this. This is this is some shade here drew mammary which twenty. And not had a nine point lead late in the first half lake is kind of hanging around there down five. We gotta done. Lebron? No. We don't go in the other direction. Lonzo will put it in. He's gorgeous seven legs down eight at halftime. Then the third quarter. Denver just opens it up completely and LeBron James really struggling over four from three. That's no good. Lebron actually did not have a field goal on the entire second hand. And the other way, here's Yokich. He's not yo king. He had fourteen liquors down sixteen later Lakers. Still trailing by sixteen. The front is not a good pass. He's frustrated. They look really bad first time in four years. He goes tire half without a field goal. Fourth quarter, Lakers down eighteen points now kinda planet out LeBron and other bad pass going to work at the trae Lyles who will knock down to three from the corner when it's all sudden LeBron five of fifteen fourteen points. Lakers lose by thirty to their worst of the year. Still couldn't make. As much as we could stop to stuff. What it over? Broke. Oh before couldn't make enough shots. Yeah. Couldn't make shots as an understatement. Jalen rose because they missed thirty three's in the matchup against the nuggets. But something else was revealed. And you've mentioned this before that for the Lakers. It's difficult for them when they face a big man that can score inside and out. And how did you see that reveal distinction amongst quality big men in the league skill big man that could dribble pass shoot versus wheel men who set screens. Catch lobs and block shots. The latter categories players like Steven Adams, de'andre Jordan Tyson challenge, avail McGee. And when you talk about ultimate skill

Can they they, come from different world experiences and I think that they both have different priorities for me the great Popa my lifetime was Pope, John. "Deciding to, go back at LeBron James LeBron had been asked previously about the job that you thought the president was doing any interview we did. For CNN he said he believed that the president was using athletes and athletics to divide people. Which he didn't think was the president's job, president fired back Back on, Twitter, basically, calling, LeBron, James. Dome did he come right out and Satan LeBron. James duh no he didn't, here's what the. President tweeted LeBron James just interviewed by the. Dumbest man, on, television Don lemon he made LeBron. Looksmart which isn't easy. To do aka. You're calling him dumb I like. Mike which is another dig. Saying he's a. Michael Jordan. Fan not, LeBron James. Fan because LeBron James had questioned the, president, so, the president, takes, to Twitter. Where he can't be questioned he can only give his side of the story the guy who ever media outlet questions him at all or doesn't agree with his decisions and actions he labels fake news well Twitter. Is one, sided news is what it is and I just think this was not, within the purview of the president anybody can have an opinion We all have opinions I. Have opinions I solicit, your opinions when I opened, up the telephone lines eight, five five two one two four CBS it is, a? Great, country America. You're allowed to speak your piece but the president I think should be held to a higher. Standard and have higher expectations and he just comes off, as thin skinned and. A guy who, any time any place any. One questions him he attacks, back and doubles down and the president of the United States. Is supposed to have tougher skin the night I am intrigued. To see how LeBron James handles it going forward. I had Sean Paul NBA dot com good writer outspoken, writer asked him if LeBron will respond he. Said d. believes he. Will, but he'll do so in his time unlike the, president to seems to want to respond and chooses to respond immediately when. Anyone question Sam he said LeBron will be circumspect. And he'll, do when he thinks, it will play best but at some, point LeBron will respond he's not a huge social media guide not like Donald. Who's tweeting out all, the time Be intrigued. To see how LeBron, James handles this. Going forward and if the NBA and LeBron's fellow NBA players who are mostly his competitors Certainly his teammates now in Los Angeles will. Look at it and treat it. Differently because, the president, is calling, out, one of their teammates but the NBA is a community might stance couple of people. Already tweeted out Karl Anthony towns Donovan Mitchell Steph curry came to the defense, LeBron James should be very interesting to see how this place we can also talk about the message that his Ohio State the Ohio State and the fact that urban Meyer, admitted that he was not completely accurate with what he said when. He spoke to the media at the big ten kick off the season press conference and the like it's getting deeper in waters in. Columbus that might be difficult for urban Meyer to negotiate his way out of Ohio State took a stance when they got bad press. When it became public news into the public domain that Zac Smith the assistant, coach had been investigated for domestic violence back in two thousand fifteen they knew about it the called Smith into his office in on the carpet RV Meyer found out about, it he certainly knew about he said he didn't that the press. Conference last month which was not accurate and a mistake on his part Well as far as I know Zack, Smith hasn't done anything else since other than was around when Brett mcmurphy the. Intrepid reporter from ESPN got story and broke the story and made it public. News that this investigation went underway. And took place so. Now Ohio State has its own investigation ongoing meanwhile urban, Meyer is out on administrative leave what's the new news What what. Is excellent done recently He got fired because somebody got. To the bottom of a story urban Meyer got put on administration Lee because someone got to the bottom of the story. If he deserved to be fired he deserted divide. In? Two thousand fifteen urban Meyer Deserves to. Be fired now which at least that makes sense because, he did something he went out and he at least it seems impart covering up the story attempted to cover up, the story it's a mess at Ohio State and this WNBA story if you weren't. Here for the top of the show the Las Vegas aces after having tremendous troubles getting cross country because of canceled flights got into their hotel in DC. Some four and a half hours prior to their game schedule against. The Washington mystics they pushed the game back in our to give Washington of extra hour to get ready to get some. Downtime to get brass and get to the arena They voted as a team not to go to, the green and not to play the game the WNBA has not made an, announcement of a rescheduling of the game the game was. Just cancelled they haven't announced it as a forfeit team got to the, town in time reviews to play the game, came out with a statement afterwards and said after consulting with our medical people in our union we believe we're risking are helped by playing in this game because we. Spent upwards of twenty four hours at the airport and. Inflight and getting cross country and they just refuse to, go and they're not calling it a forfeit how can you not and Washington which did the right thing in the, arena and said for any of the fans at factually already made their way to. The game we're going to have an autograph session with the players everyone is going to get a complimentary ticket or refund for tonight's game which wasn't played So watching ten went, out of their way to try and appease those who are supposed to see a game and didn't but they're not saying okay we'll just reschedule no they. Ready to play and they shouldn't have to reschedule it should be a. Little ornery and she makes life difficult well she did that for the, Las Vegas squad But they just said no we'll. Call it on this one we're gonna call us one over and the WNBA has said nothing the league has come out and said nothing they've just, moved on but at, some, point two teams. They got like a bunch of sneakers that, I guess, LeBron war during games that I'm assuming were auctioned off. I don't know who like how they sold these shoes, but like one shoe is kept by the by and then the other shoes like hung up school. Sickening, free tuition course. "The college level but the question was could he dominate at the nfl level wasn't like he wasn't fast wasn't like he wasn't quick had good reliable hands but in his for was outstanding it was just a matter of what a player of his size be able to physically dominate at the next level like he did the college level there were some obvious concerns which is why he slide into the six round of first but the steelers saw something antonio brown through his dedication determination termination pluses own skillset has proved everybody wrong in a way that it's close to being on par with what tom brady has accomplished as the hundred ninety nine th pick in two thousand and he's been that good relative expectations with the pittsburgh steelers do you remember him coming out and what you what your thoughts were if not played against them in college i was a senior when he was a freshman at central michigan and i was the gun and i remember getting down the field and it was like one on one and i'm gonna an easy tackle in and outlook and he wasn't there anymore and then played them into against him in the nfl and the same thing happened he's just one of those guys man that he's just an incredible football player and they always talk about who are the best wide receivers and there are other guys who were pure wide receivers than him but what i quoted to is lebron james lebron james if the best point guard in the league he's not the best shooting guard maybe he's not probably the most pure power ford but when it comes to basketball player he's the best basketball player in the world that's when it's on your brown if you the best football player in the world to me now that's a good way to put it and i think there's there's comparisons can he be better than than jerry rice you know so we we laid it out here we know that rice he holds the record for the most receptions and receiving yards so ab needs eight hundred sixteen catches to tie rice and his face from the last five seasons reached that mark in twenty twentyfive he will be thirty seven years old right so he needs nearly thirteen thousand yards right to match rice in that category and based on his numbers in the last five years he passed them in twenty twenty six at a right age of thirty eight six damian we laid it out there for you saw the numbers you think this is possible possible can av catch on there's a reason why jerry rice it's considered now only the best wide receiver but the best football player in nfl history because he has a sustained level of success that is unmatched by any player in the history of the national football league i mean his numbers are ridiculous it's going to be hard for any player even in this era of the passing era in the national football for gossip break his records because of the long jeopardy that he played i mean he played into his forties yeah it's crazy i just don't think in this day and age and jerry may have benefited from that a little bit i just don't think that team is going to stay that committed to a player 'til they sturdy eight like when guys reached the thirty mark there already looking for the young guy and yes tony toe tap is still at that peak level but till thirty eight he has to have a big commitment from the steelers the receptions number we'll get closer really do believe that because i don't think that we are seeing the twilight or even the back nine of antonio brown's career if we are in the back nine we're on about whole ten right now steelers' re upped on their commitment to in recently with that massive lucrative long term extension that makes him the highest paid wide receiver football for the time being put antonio brown also has largely avoided major injuries now obviously missed some time last year for getting injured in that memorable game against the patriots but he's been durable and yet yet another incredible accomplishment for players that if you saw him walk around the hallway human bristow he wouldn't stand down to some guy say oh yeah but that guy dominates every sunday in the nfl and he would look a lot like like andrew haug me too much credit so you know what here's the problem when it's.
