"Tell about hampshire. Because he was two or twelve from three point range. That's really where it affects you. The base in your shot five or seventeen in the game but he did go tim from the free throw line gets and nine assists nine rebounds almost triple double despite playing. Yeah he showed a toughness to you gotta again. We haven't even talked about the bucks we haven't talked about the performance from jaanus. We haven't talked about what khris middleton has been able to do for them and then winning a game seven on the road after what we've said about the bucks in you know wondering can we trust them but they did get it done. But i'm telling you they came a toenail and kevin durant the shot with an incredible shot right before the buzzer. Don't believe in. I don't but regulation. Look i don't believe in a box like that i do. You still don't mazing. isn't it. No like the momentum. I like what. Atlanta's doing in nate mcmillan. He got certain way. Absolutely hawks box. And you would you take atlanta. I'm taking atlanta you picking atlanta. Yes how many games six. Who wouldn't that be a story. Oh my god. I'm picking atlanta six. Because they got momentum behind. They plan as they say they playing with house. Money gonna lose right. They don't have they feel good about their position and where they're at. Here's another question again back to the nets because for the box it was important to get this far but actually if you think about it for the bucks it only adds more pressure because it was the sixers whilst the top seed you know. They're built maybe differently more but the sixers are not in. Its announced the bucks now. It's the hawks. And if you look at the bucks you're like you guys now you better get to the championship round. You better get to the nba finals. The window is right there for them to quite a lot of the narrative but back to the nets for a minute. Because i don't see it as a disappointing season. I'm sorry it wasn't a disappointment. Only disappointing because you were kind of looking forward to seeing it is pointing that they couldn't stay healthy but even if they think about the window for them because they're older Will see where they go on these contracts because all of them are stores the although not james harden but for katie inquiry. They do have opt outs coming up after next season so if they do. Let's say they get one thai kate. They can't go anywhere else. This is it you think they should finish here. There's no else to go. Why would you leave at this point of their careers. You can't keep at some point. You can't keep moving around. Yeah you gotta in whatever happens happens well how about if you're the nets though do you do you. Just keep going as they get older. You just keep sticking with this because they again over. Thirty's injury riddled saying this. If kai read it and land on janas his foot. We wouldn't be having this conversation about. I think they'd be in the finals. You have this conversation. The only reason why we've been having this conversation is because they got balanced it did make it to the eastern conference finals or championship is the best three that you've seen put together on a rosser since the heels since we're on the heat eagles. Yeah the lebron. Wade and chris bosh was in the league. Now you got. I obviously steph. Do you really have to play. Israelis well steph clay and k. D's is a pretty great three as well. They won multiple titles. The heat won multiple titles. And i think you need this group to win multiple titles but the nba in in my opinion not only the nba but the eastern conference is stronger better than it was when miami had a big three saloons. Easier to get out of the eastern conference at that time. The thing about miami with that really marvel at four years. They had such durability. Those those three guys. Yeah but these are important missing them for long periods of time golden state as well up until the very end where they started full report we talking about. Were talking about really one injury. Kyrie's ankle 'cause katie's katie. Looked good haiti he just. He's a year ago. He took your. I took a year off. I'm getting paid. i'm gonna take a year off. I'm gonna play if i wanted to. That's what it looked like. And then james horne just has a nagging hamstring injury. That takes time to heal that. He has to come back next year in october. Ready to go. He got it out. He gave you an average of forty five minutes. Katie played like i said i. He played other worldly like he played he reminded and not just in the playoffs but just in the regular season playoffs it is it is by far the most impressive comeback from an achilles injury ever like the next guy to having achilles. That's your standard good luck. Yeah he he got bright back to where he was initially chilly last year. Just watch basketball mentally plati just messing with all of us so look at it though allen. We say injuries injuries injuries. But that's the story about the nets though. Can they win a championship going through the marathon. Melvin e two game season and stay healthy because the question about these hilly not celinda. Somebody's foot exactly. That's not an injury like that to meet your saying it's ask breakout injury. That's not a i'm thirty seven years old ankles getting ready to fall. That's not what that is that. Is that look janas. Independent for no reason at all it. Kyri lands on his ankle anchor. If that doesn't happen hardness basically because he just wasn't he did not show up for the rockets. I don't know if that's why don't know why he's injured. I don't know why had a hamstring empties use air-conditioning i. I don't know if they manage shape high idea. I can't comment on his his hilton his endured. I don't know that he look in shape just like he looks like harden harden. Looks that way ever looked like you know. Just his body type. Looks that way all right. Can you at least admit while we move on from this that the biggest question about the nets next season will not be. If they can do it. I think we believe they can. It's can they. Can they stay healthy enough to do it through the long haul because there is that history with kyrie of being banged up he gets injured. It does happen and then harden who normally is very durable if twin through the hanley thing if two of the three stay healthy that i think that they will be back in the same position they were again this year. We shall see. There's no doubt about that. All right more on the nba playoffs coming up including magic johnson. In.

"I mean what he sent me the picture of your of your of your list, he could send all the pictures hook about ace Woody? Paul is yours. George wait. A second guys J basketball season. Okay, who is the second best. I'm not talking about the last five years op talking about right now at twenty nine years old. He's, he's in his poise smack dab in the middle of his prime who is the second best and you can make an argument of best at least in the regular season two way player in the association. If you tell me, there's a, a two way players get top. Is he a top ten player putt JK? He finished third in the voting. He's a top five player. Okay. Now he's a top five there. So you're now putting him ahead of Anthony Seattle, Anthony Davis. I don't put them ahead of. I don't put them Etta James harden, your now go back to your criteria west Paul George one. Hey Anthony, where Georgia? Anthony, what happened in two thousand thirteen to two thousand fourteen explain to me, what happened with PG thirteen police with because AP wants to make this all about winning any, by the way, by the way, down boys. He shot down. He shut down James harden. He doesn't understand his James harden has made the conference finals twice. And like you said Jay, if not for an oath conference fight, not if not for Chris Paul. Exactly. Who I understand broken nail and had to miss a couple of games this year. He will the nail salon wasn't open. Chris Paul couldn't get into get it fixed and so great. Why didn't you need you Chris Paul? What do you think? What do you need? Chris Paul open. He needed him to try to get behind James Horne to top five players. Help are you trying to get by the warriors who have a all star team now for your arguments. No, you're trying to get by the warriors. By the way to get by the warriors, you better be better be pretty jacked up. Okay. Or do you better have like three of them? Hit on the injured list. So JK conscious real quick make them look like once again. Okay. So Paul George with David west is second best player, by the way over to the Spurs. He became like the seven words became the ninth best player whip David west is the second best player. He made it to a conference finals. And if not for playing a team with three first ballot hall of famers in two thousand fourteen four first ballot hall of famers with right, Allen. He gets the NBA finals in my opinion wins the championship you cannot gloss over the fact that Paul right now. Another player glossing over Paul George being held at Taleban ship is that I'm going to save you. If, if people are being highly critical of Anthony Davis, I need Paul George to elevate more. He's made to conference fine. I got you want from the Gachi has I think he made a really bad choice, real. It made it really made a bad choice when he had to make one last summer. I think you'll regret it for a long time. I've got I've got a as we've talked about these stories. I love this, because the NBA finally has the chance now to change the narrative, they've got the opportunity now to be able to say. We're not just a one team league. We're not just the, the warriors, and I on honestly, I can't wait to see what Steve Kerr dials up. We'll Steve Kerr how far will the will the warriors fall in the Western Conference. Because with the injuries right now that they're going to have to navigate. It's going to be interesting to watch them. And I can tell you, I'm very excited to see what Steve Kerr can do. I have a feeling I'll get a few less lectures on who I need to vote for. And maybe he'll worry a little more about coaching, and I won't be lectured about politics and any other thing that he chooses to lecture about on a daily basis when you're a winning coach and you have all those mics in your face you then think that people are waiting for you to tell them who to vote for who to do some real interest to see what Steve Kerr dials up now without all that star power just disposal. But I'll call it right now. The Lakers are not going to put together a title contender, and yes, I use the word contender. I hear people talking about the Lakers winning and NBA championship that they show that they're one of the favorites to win an NBA championship, and I hear people citing Las Vegas odds may, I give you a heads up, what Las Vegas does. They know that a lot of people out there like me who will be arriving in three weeks. They know that a lot of us are sheep. You know what I do every single summer? I put a bet on the eagles, if I like them as long as, as long as they look like they're going to be a potential playoff team. I put a bet on the eagles to win the Super Bowl. And I place a bet on the eagles to win the NFC championship. Every year. I'm going home with those tickets in some way. It's a novelty to be able to be holding it, but I can tell you, that when I walked to the betting window the night, the eagles did win the Super Bowl as I sat in the Bellagio and wept. Like a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert. When I walked up to that window with that with that ticket that I had bought in July for the eagles to win the Super Bowl. That felt like heaven. What the what the what the sports snow is. They put out odds and say the Lakers of the favorites. And you know what they know by? They know that the sheep are all lined up to go. Yeah, man. I'm the biggest Laker fan. Wait a minute. Dude, you're from Miami. Yeah, but I've been the Laker fan my whole life. Well, why don't you wear Laker head for like the last three years? Well, I wore black door in the shack era. No, no bigger band vagabonds than the big time die hard Laker fan. You know, the guy who lives in Dallas. The guy who lives in Atlanta, the guy who lives in Chicago. Oh, I was a Laker fan my whole life. You don't see any Laker gear on them for years when they're crappy and out of the playoffs. And then all of a sudden they show up with their look. And I'll always love it when it went a team starts to rebound like that. I'll go. Hey, nice new Lakers hat. Oh, I see. Oh, I see you, Laker fans back. Tell you right now, the Lakers will not construct a title contender this year. And I'm not talking about winning an NBA championship. I'm talking about a team that we will be discussing in April of next year as being a team that we think can win the championship. They will not put together a title contender around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Book. It's flat out obvious. Save the tape put it down. Write it down and sharpy. I got a sharpie, and my hand right now right at down Lakers. They may be a playoff team. Sure they may be a foresee they may be three. See they may be an eight seed, but they're not winning any NBA championships next year. And it is a dysfunctional organization. And it's one that I am not believing it. I think they're setting themselves up for a lot of hype, a lot of talk. But I don't think they're going to be able to build a roster. I think they're down at Laguna beach right now at a pickup game. Try to sign the eleventh and twelfth men on the bench. Well, more bad at all throughout the course of the day today, and I'll have more time for your phone calls a little bit later on in the hour..

"Forty million dollars a year because of what he's capable of doing with the ball in his hand. And So Chris Paul, then is like, hey, if I'm going to be running the offense, then I want hord and out of the game. I'm not mad at him for saying that he wants out of the game when he runs the office because I don't know how much of the rockets you watch. But when I watch, and Chris Paul will be running the offense James Horne, which is over there resting. It was like they're playing four on five when that would happen, as I don't blame Chris Paul under that, if he's like dude is going to be over there, standing there and get him out of here and get somebody to go make a cut that's gonna make a move like Chris Paul does look to be a Steph slower and everything else, because also looks to be in an office. They really I don't think fits around the things he does best. And all of this. I think was like you could see this from a distance that these things were going to happen. And then once they made the decision that they would just go run the ISO heavy offense. I understand that, that is the most effective thing. They felt like they could do. But they had to understand that this was not tenable that this was not sustainable there with the personality mix that you had there you were going to need to go out there and do something else. And now here we are with the rockets. Oh, by the way gave. One could argue they might be the second best team in the west. Yeah, I'm in the last three seasons then was beat the warriors. And now the warriors aren't the warriors, at least in the way that they were constructed before they still have James harden. Cappella looked mighty useless when he was out there playing against the warriors this year. But there are other places that they can use them like this is a wild situation. This team is still pretty good. But it also does look like it. They don't look like they got everything they need is that makes sense. Yeah. That makes a lot of sense part of why Maury wants to break it up. Yeah. But I'm not sure what else they need. If you're watching the rockets, I guess, they need more shooting, right? Like Eric Gordon is a good player to have to play alongside hard and Chris Ball. But I do think they need more shooting. They could really use a big who could shoot. I think that's something that you could say because I love J Tucker, but he's still undecided dude, like it would help, if they had a big that can space the floor, or, you know, that, that would be good like are things that they need. But at once this team feels like it's in total chaos. On the other hand, it feels like they're right close to get in the ring like. This thing about this. We were ready to break rockets up impart because they lost in the second round the playoffs this year after they may game seven to the conference finals last year. But part of them losing in the second round in the playoffs this year's because they happen to catch the warriors in the second round this year, as a, what that did was they gave us like a legitimate month to pick this roster report and talk about everything that was wrong with it if they had gone six games with the warriors in the NBA finals and then just two weeks later. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson get hurt. We look at the rockets and we say, yo their window just opened up. Instead all this other stuff happened. And now we're like yo rock is look like they're falling apart. And somehow both of those things might be true at once. They just got to hope to Chris Paul can play very well next season because they it do to forty million dollars a year for three more think they've just got to hope that dude is ready to ball, and if that do comes out there, and he's ready to ball, then they've got a very good chance in the west. And I think it's fair to have some faith in Maury will make some moves. He might like overlook some things in the process. But he's earned the trust that he'll go out here and figure out how to make a move they got owner who says he wants to win and says the he will spend whatever it takes except. Oh, I forgot. I don't even.

"Let me tell you what else brings me great joy. And that also fun to be hilarious. The Houston Rockets. Now right fast. Before I forget, I don't know if you saw this game but I was interviewed by the New Yorker. Yes. I did see that. Yes, aims that if you're critical of a writer on television as a great way to wind up getting Cuban. But now I was the guy who did the is e China he did the interview Jalen rose about the analytics and then you know, I talked about it people saw it, and then he talked to me about, you know, some of those same issues, and he is a big rockets fan. My thing with Iraq is in the way that they do. Things has always been. They don't pay attention to people stuff that the actual the ways the human beings interact matter. And that is the stuff that your data driven analysis is not going to give you an it's still has a real value. Darrow, Maury has made some moves over the course of time with rockets were I felt like no matter what the numbers told him, you look at it and be like, nah, that's gonna be a bad idea, homey, because of people stuff, one that immediately jumps to mind is when they brought Ty Lawson end to be the point guard. Like they had a team that needed a grownup really badly. And they brought in the least grownup person that you could possibly imagine to be the point God. And then they had to cut them out tiles, and even in the NBA anymore. And I was like, oh, man, if you knew anything about people, you know, that this was not going to wind up being the right move as oh. Then they made the decision to bring Chris Paul in with James harden. And I remember I was like so who's supposed to be in charge here. Because if Chris Paul does on your team, Chris Paul is in charge. That's the only way that Chris Paul knows how to live. That's the only way Chris Paul knows how to exist. He is the guy who was in charge now, James harden, and never really demonstra. Noted that he had much of a personality to indicate that he needed to be in charge, how ever at that point. He was clearly a better player than Chris Paul. Can you be Chris Paul? And kin you be in charge. If you're not the best player that's a question that you got to ask on the front end. And if you're a rock, it's now I understand why it is that you might have decided when they make their tray. We just went up to take that risk and figure it out. I see why you might do that. I just want to know what odds you had placed on this because the likelihood of this happening, as it is right now, for the rockets was sky, high, like, Tim McMahon road piece ferocity peon about the rockets and he said, one thing is that Chris Paul tries to coach James harden, which James harden. Absolutely does not like right. That actually it was interesting for me to read that because I was like I have a tendency to do that. But he does not like being coach. And I think he doesn't like being coached by guy who's he's better than at the same time. I imagine that the things that Chris Paul is telling James Horne to do or probably really good ideas that he should listen to. But that don't matter. That's not that's not the issue. That's not the concern as now, we're finding now, did these dudes are tired of each other largely because Chris Paul is being Chris Paul. And by the way, Chris Paul is right about this. The rock is needed offense that have some more bum movement, this, we're just gonna let James harden, isolate. And then Chris Paul stands off to the side. That's not what you do with a guy that makes forty million dollars a year, especially not, what you do at a guy who makes forty million dollars a year because of what he's capable of doing with the ball in his hand. And So Chris Paul, then is like, hey, if I'm going to be running the offense, then I want hord and out of the game..

"Parkin show. Thanks for hanging out CBS sports radio series, two six thanks interacting, on Twitter at Danny Parkin's normally do the show from Chicago but was in New York for a wedding and decided to extend it an extra day so that I can meet my man Ryan Hickey. You know, the executive producer of this show and hang out with my people in New York. And one of my people in New York, I didn't even know. It was coming in the night. I should have thought about it. But I'm inconsiderate John jastremski. Media star CBS sports radio. WFAN 'Send, y the Mike's on at how many jobs do you have Danny when you work crazy hours that I work you have to accumulate as many jobs as humanly possible. So hopefully looking for more presentable than I normally because I may have some smudges and make up on. Ten years ago. I'd be wearing makeup. I'm sure you've had some nasty comments for me. And we are, hey man, listen, I always knew you were going to be a star. And you are New York radio, you are New York television. So it only makes sense that you'd be on both Ming China appreciate that, man. Listen, I'm what Mr. Chicago right here. Go nationwide worldwide. So we look at a Yankee Cup World Series in October. I would be down for that. Let me tell you something. If we get a Yankee Cup World Series I will be at Wrigley field for always one of those games. Yeah. For that right now again I will be at Yankee Stadium for all of those games. To do so. But that's okay. Yeah, I will be if it's a Yankees cups World Series. I will be at all of the games cubs. Anybody World Series? I will be all the games. But listen is your team going to make it? What do you think? Yeah. I think the Yankees teen of America you do. Look at bullpen Rolette look at what they're doing right now without judge, what DD without Stanton. And Stanton is guy. I'm worried about see judge Yankee fans. Welcome back open on the franchise Didi, heart and soul of the team Stanton is going to have like that Iran. Mercenary hired gun and listen. We know he's a great talent gun. He's also very fought superstar fail. Yeah. Hiccup pitching swings garbage not have a great first year with the Enke's and was terrible in the postseason terrible. No question about it the I'd give you the Astros. The more talented. I just having seen them in the series against the cubs. They were ridiculous without Correa without altuve and without Springer all three of them out. Still put it up nine runs, like it's nothing. Garrett Cole pitching ace their bullpen cubs didn't even have to face ver- Lander. And they were still dominant like that team is really good. Honestly the top of baseball. This year is awesome. Very top heavy. I think there's just I know everyone thinks it's Astros Yankees dodgers. But I think there's a second tier of teams that also are right there. Like to me, it will be a wide open play every year. Danny depending on who makes the big move getting borough Lando last year. The cubs even though they ended up flaming out hamels helped a great deal hat for the Yankees. Help a great deal Red Sox getting involved in Pierce, they turn into God's gift in the postseason. I mean militating kimberlin Kyko there. They have no draft pick attached to people when he seven minutes ago. People winking to the Yankees. That's not the guy. I want I want on. On on keys, you want cash was going to ask you, listen, you might. Give them some good pieces of advice. I'm sure I'm sure you won't for the playoff experience. Exactly. I mean, name me a better big game pitcher in your life. I mean Kurt's showings up there. No Bumgarner cost me. Fifteen grands. Oh, that's right. You were doing Kansas City. I forgot about that at the time, the royals from June or July five hundred bucks at thirty two one and I did not hedge and I took it into game seven at Kauffman stadium. He comes out of the pen, they hit the you know the ball to the wall. Gordon, and they don't send him and then Salvi pops up. Did you take them the following year? Will. No. Really, I mean obviously weren't going to get the same value. That was the problem. I couldn't doing radio in Kansas City. He was still there at that point, I made money off the twenty fifteen royals. Really grateful banning. I was here in New York. And if the Mets won that championship, it was sent me into a state of depression, for months, Phil. I'm eternally grateful, two thousand fifteen see, I can't be. It was great. It was amazing. It was a professional highlight got a parade. And it was a crowning achievement at one of the coolest things I've done in broadcasting, but I should have won fifteen granted twenty four hundred same thing with Clemson. I had them the first year against Bama, I had two hundred bucks at thirty two one for six grand. My wife went to Clemson like your teams in the title game. We're flying Arizona were going to the game. This bet is going to pay for everything. So tickets title game airfare got six grand writing on the Shawn Watson. They can't stop them credible in that game up and down the field. It takes a MacKenzie Alexander injury. It take site chick a shack Lawson. Injury. The onsite can't can you drink and the kick return for the touchdown. It took four things for saving with that title. And then the next year there, the second favorites on the board. I have no value in betting. Clemson winter title has been good to Mito Bama championship a win last year. Obviously had him on the money line, a win and not to have you here. I'm sure you've been doing this for four hours, the warriors winning the series. Yeah. I got I had the warriors in five, but I think the Toronto actually matches up a little bit better than I thought. And these injuries are really Toronto. Melted down could hit a shot couldn't it a shot. And their defense has been great for seven of the eight quarters and it just completely went away in the third quarter. The biggest running NBA finals history, twenty nothing from the end of the second through the first five and a half minutes of the third assuming that doesn't happen. And everyone who's good in game. One was awful in game two PASCAL. Awful awful. Green was awful. They won't be as good as. They were in game one but they'll be better than they were in game two. If Katie comes back, obviously, it's easy, if clay is one hundred percent fine I'm sure they will be fine. But Klay looked really hurt and loonie looked really hurt. So I don't think that if you've got to go, forty eight minutes with Quinn cook, and bogut, and those guys playing I don't think the warriors are better than the raptors with the team that finished on the floor tonight. That's fair. I think six game series. I would not be shocked to see game seven in this series. No me neither I had it in five before the series thinking that the warriors will just shoot him in Katie. He'll come back by game three but they just keep getting her Igwe dollars also hurt. No one's healthy. Draymond the only one who's actually one hundred percent healthy right? It's amazing. Doll, hitting that shot that field Danny the no, no, yes, it's time for me. I'm on the Toronto side tonight. So I was not particularly happy about it, but I'll be honest, Dan, by the time that came early fourth quarter I basically was ready to flush ticket. Then not get the sense was winning again. Oh, I didn't I didn't either. I mean, the warriors controlled the second half. But I I couldn't either of the games the line. They bagging came over Toronto. And I felt like I had a bell the me, you know what I mean? Like when you got seventy percent of public on Golden State, and that line goes from, minus one warriors to like two and a half, Toronto that I'm going to go with the show. Outside any day of the week twice, again on Sunday. I got I I'm with you. I felt like they were begging you to take the warriors. Yes. Warriors as an underdog there, begging you to do it, but I agreed. I didn't think the warriors were going down to obviously, you, did you bet it champs are going down to they've won three of the last four titles. They are the better team. You pick them in six. I pick them and five and then you think Toronto is going up to. So I was a coward JJ. I stayed away plenty opportunities to get back involved for what's happening to for the next this offseason. Listen, it's fake press. Time bro. Hey. Listen, they have been as bad as it gets for eighteen years. I mean I go back to when I was a kid, the Knicks were not win a championship, but they were good every year we doing with Stark's with oakwood Eljay and use thin. So in making that porzingas straight, it's basically Kevin Durant, a bust, if they don't end up with Kevin Durant. It's a monumental failure because they're not going to be in the sweepstakes. I don't think he's interested to be honest with you clippers. He's going to probably stays in Toronto. So if they don't end up with Kevin Durant. I really don't know what they do. Because I think the worst thing you could do. If you Knicks now is take two of the be plus being minus guys and try to sell you on the championship team. When in reality, it's probably getting you to forty three or forty four wins, right? The worst case scenario is Kemba Walker in boogie cousins don't even say Walker boogie cousins and RJ Barrett. We'll be setting to her boss. Let's be honest, and Nick style put themselves in a position everybody in town. Is hoping and praying it's going to happen. They wanna believe the positive reports that are out there, but they also have the skepticism because it's the Knicks it's Dolan been that bad for so long, that I know a lot of people are of the mindset. Well, let's actually see this happen. I and we'll get excited. Would you sign for Kemba in Jimmy Butler? Now you wouldn't know dating what does that team doing? I get it meets Kemba Jimmy Butler in the third pick in the draft is a good Eastern Conference team. But it's like a forty four forty five win team. And listen. I don't know what's Porzingis is gonna look like for the remainder of his career, he could end up being stuck in Dallas. He could just flame out. Never stay on the court and just total be and all the Bockel of epic proportions off the court, I was sold abilities, potentially that the Knicks trading porzingas to max lots which means elite elite elite to make Kemba Walker. Jim. Baller? Nice players. Those guys is winning championships. Number one player. And I guess that's where on that is an expand while I'm saying, I'm not about having a team that's going to be stat mellow. You know what I mean? We all went down this road before I agree. Listen. I I understand. It's just do you, do you let it ride or do you head? I'm telling you could sign right now for Kemba Jimmy. It could be worse. I would continue to tank. That's what I would do. I'd built a draft and it will be painful, and it'll be miserable. And it will mean at least two or three years of irrelevant New York, Knickerbocker talk. But if they can't end up with the Kremlin Graham, Jimmy their friends Kyran, Jimmy. You know, if you would ask me to your ago, I would've said absolutely, yeah. Now, let me ask you this question can carry Irving be the number one player on a championship team. I don't think so I don't either. I think he absolutely great. Number two. We sell Braun. I think Jimmy and RJ Barrett is pretty awesome fun team to what that's a pretty good team. And he's hoping with that team that Kyrie Irving is going to embrace being the alpha male. And that eventually or j buried could take title from career. Correct. And that's why I was always on board with the idea of hope imprinted, got the number one pick getting Winston here and having him take that torch from Kevin Durant. You know, this, you remember doing radio in Syracuse James Horne against Syracuse could not avoid any worse. I've that game. Tell me Danny that day. James harden, would end up being an MVP the Amazon get the hell out of no way..

"Game goes on. It's a while night. Meanwhile while night, you know you coming on right after the Yankee right now thinking about what you're going to talk about. And you got an eventful baseball game going on. You got the Astros. Now taking care of business against the Boston Red Sox is they get to Chris sale and there for the one in the bottom half of the seventh inning. And from the Kanki standpoint, a lot of people are going to look at. Well, the team is playing so well in the absence of some of these star players, how you going to go about integrating them back into the? A lotta not a tough thing to do with Aaron judge not a tough thing to do with eating gory. And it's not a tough thing to do with Giancarlo Stanton. He's all store like players, you get them back into the fold back into the mix. But who think that the adjustment period for Stanton is very different than D judge? And why is it different because judge homegrown? Belove by defense Dedi, even though he's not homegrown. He's been the leader of this team. He's been caught. He's earned his quote unquote pinstripes. So Stanton's, the guy, you look at, and you say, we had thirty seven home runs, but you come across feeling, like, you'll most had a disappointing first year in a Yankee uniform because he failed in court situations because he was terrible in the postseason against the Boston Red Sox. That's why four is like, who is the microscope going to be on front and center, it's going to be front and center on Giancarlo Stanton. As soon as he comes back. I don't think Yankee fans will pin blame on Aaron judge. I don't think they'll pin blame on gregorious. That much feeling towards the guy who is a. Two hundred and fifty plus million dollars in coming from Miami who. One MVP of Miami. And much like any of the hired guns in Yankees pass than till you deliver until you perform, you're not gonna win over the fan base, but said to New Haven, Connecticut. Your role is up next on a foul Cheryl. Are you doing Jay? What's bro? What's that? Longtime this there and do the show got times one on one on one on the Knicks? Team. Well, we get it anyway. Back to New York the Knicks anybody expecting to get van Williamson, but plan b we didn't get him. So. It's a day. That played good one is in the Jinyan is named hundred and I think he impact way of putting Knicks he can you can guy Winston athletic any quest to. Yeah. Defense to Tate wishing for the jets. Right direction. Wave's either intact player you're going to be attacked playing for the jets and you're gonna preach it the fans going to say. Well, listen, everyone Java jets last year defensively coming over from the Tennessee titans. I'm not gonna fight you on that. I am going to disagree on Jay haunt. That would not be guy. I'd prioritize compared to RJ Barrett. If you tell me the Knicks are going to end up with the third pick in the draft and you're not going to trade that third picking draft. I just think the of sun ceiling for j Barrett. It's four great Indiana, Jay hunter, I think the hundred could be a nice role player in the NBA four is like an all star type ceiling. I just think it's an easier case to make that RJ. Barrett possesses such skill set. I'm not sure if Jay haunted does, but they bury he didn't show up in a in. Play with him. Well any tournament he struggled from the foul line. He was not very efficient especially in the final game against Beijing and state. But remember the hunter put a lot more tournament games. Do attends de'andre hunter had done very little about thirty thirty five minutes and it came alive. If you remember, any overtime session against Texas Tech did nothing in the first half of that game fact, I remember tweet now when I was watching that game live, I said, Jerry covert, Dan, Jonah. Two guys they're going to be lottery picks. Whenever plays and performs better in the second half probably gonna win again. And as it turns out, it was down Jay. And sure enough for junior ended up putting a game. And overto- classic national championship game back in April. The ceiling though is high if a Barrett regardless of the NCAA tournament and be careful with that because I always love to give this example, because one the premier play by play guys in the entire country on eagle reminisce about this quite a bit because he did this game. And I was doing student radio at the time in Syracuse when Syracuse was at three seen they would take it on Zona state, and it was two thousand nine and James horn. If you remember was the star of that Zona state team James Horne corn appoint worse. Warrants against Syracuse. He was turned up all over. He was inefficient from the field. He couldn't hit a shot put like cartridge. And I remember watching that game and incoming on doing Syracuse ASA. That guy's going to be number two, and number three, pigging Jaffe kidding me. But that's why can always overreact to what you see in the NCAA tournament. And that's why these scouts in these town evaluators. They're not just going to look at tournament games. And say this is why we'll make an draft pick. Remember even though I'd rate Zion high j Barrett. RJ Barrett was a guy coming into college was the number one overall high school recruit. So how much changes within said, Tumen Alpin, John next on a foul. Yeah. Jay, Johnny baby. How you doing, bro? Pretty good. I wanna talk about the Yankees first second and coming back, you gotta look at guys like shell. Everybody's fallen in love with him. I think he's the God think he's a savior. He sees the next Derrick jeeter. But you gotta understand the Yankees of very good problem right now. Are you guys like me? Then you have guys like your shelhah even Kansas morale is coming in. They're all stepping up when when guys like stand judge get back. You really think that Giovanni or shell is gonna play every day over in Gregorian? That's not gonna happen. I don't think standing down your last year. He had some problems the postseason. He was, you know, you didn't perform the clutch, but thirty seven thirty eight home runs hundred the is, is not a bad year. I can't say it's a bad year. John. That's fair. But it kind of felt like an unfulfilling season if you know what I mean. I mean, remember he was coming off era had fifty seven homers and one an MVP for the Miami Marlins. He was now bad for the Yankees last year. But. It was just one of those years where you felt like he did not play as well as the numbers would indicate does that make sense. That makes sense. Then he'd been such a good player for such a long time coming off to MVP year. When you're hitting forty home run thirty seven is gonna seem like a down year and he's gonna have some time to get back into it. He struck out over two hundred times last year. And that's a big blow. And you look at a guy like judge striking out one fifty he's not gonna have as big of a problem coming back. But you gotta make the decision to trade, maybe or shelhah trade a Clint Frazier. Get a piece like a medicine. Bumgarner, the big left, you have always been a fan of 'cause Sobat down packing down. You're still gonna miss Severino. So the all star break, you gotta start making decisions about some of these players that are on the roster right now that you're gonna have to start replacing when guys like Stanton and judge that, and I don't think the fans have have woken up to that. Listen. John, I think you can go about it in two ways, I don't think you necessarily would have to give up GR shelhah to go get Madison Bumgarner. I agree with you. Bumgarner would be high on my list. I love what he brings in the month of. October. He's a gamer. He is the best postseason pitcher. I've seen in my lifetime and what I love about Bumgarner Jenin. I appreciate the call is that he could have the of career renaissance that Verlaine there is having an Houston is he going to be as good as has been in Houston? Of course, of course, not to some Bumgarner is going to perform at Justin, Valente level is ridiculously unfair. But I do think putting him back into a winning environment could change things a little bit for him. And I think his life start against the Atlanta Braves shows you could hitting team. He shut down that he can still pitch and that he could still pitch any pretty high level. But or shell it is the play every day that Aaron Boone, basically said he would. But I would argue with TJ LeMay you with Didi gregorious glacier, Torahs, the best role for GIO show would be a guys playing a little bit here. We'll there and still could have some big hates in some big moments along the way is Yankee team. Said sixteen here on this Friday evening stage after die. Chassis Stansky keeping you company right here on the fan. Eight seven seven thirty thirty seven sixty six sixty six a lot more on the Yankees and fairs with injuries. If there's one return that will be a little awkward and complicated as Giancarlo Stanton without a doubt, the front runner when it comes to that element. We got the bottom half tonight, didn't come up with the Mets and the Tigers and Dodson pick for game six the raptors in the bucks so that more next here on right now. It's out with the.

"Coming up next hour Arnie. I I don't know if you'll like it or not. That last news. I heard I'm sure. Let's get this guy in here. He's been arrested three times the league we care about the integrity of the league. And by the way, speaking of the NFL, am I am I wrong in not having a problem that we haven't heard much on the tyreek hill saga? It's the off season. He's not taking part in workouts. It appears to be that those want some sort of measure or act now just need something to write about or talk about. I mean, he's probably never gonna play for the chiefs again. But I have no problem that they're taking their time. Right now, my crazy. He's not involved in anything. Yeah. You're crazy because you know, this has been going on way too long. Plus, then do the investigation even before the NFL came up with their findings that tape is so disturbing. What more do you really want? I mean, I thought that was going to be enough roof to at least give him a suspension or something like that. I I don't know. Why suspended? Well, this is what I need to be gone for good to just say, you're done. You're you're. Finished. I mean just have you heard that tape? It's just it it it makes the hammer my arms stand up. Are you gonna be okay? Then if they cut them in the dolphins signed him. No, I wouldn't be okay. With that. I'd I'd rather lose to have him on my team. And I know people that all the time, but I wouldn't want him on my team. Okay. So when that happens marked the tape raider fan, we can't hold on his words against him real quick before. I get to Twitter one thing. I heard you talking about last night. I don't get too caught up in trying to put historical context on something hours after it happens. But as I have learned from you Arnie, we're doing our show tonight. Right. Not five or ten years from now or five years ago. So are we really to place this in the category of one of the worst losses in Houston Rockets history from last night? Well until somebody gives me a better lost the net. I mean think about this. They don't have Kevin Durant. You're playing at home. You head held Steph curry two zero points in the first half the crowds into it. You're really could have just put them away by going up twenty and they would have folded and benched. Everybody getting ready for game seven. I mean, you had everything going for you in your favor, and you're still let it just slip through your fingers like that. Yeah. You don't play defense yet. You go ahead. It's like it's like a bullfight. It's like you're mad at or ole it, there's no defense going on you could if you want to win into the end of the game when hard and said, oh, I know exactly what we have to do. We'll figure it out this summer. You don't have a clue on what you need to do. Maybe they'll just stay, Pat. But Chris Paul. I mean, jeez dot guy looks spent and I was arguing what am I go close up? Here is like still averages sixteen a game, and blah, blah, I go the guy looked fat and flow fatter d- sore than I do for crying out loud enough of him. They need to they need another boost in the arm. I was a little bit surprised to see how slow he looks at times. And we want to laugh when we see the funny faces and we see the. What the commercials, but it's again, I don't care about that Kenney. Still get it done on the court and crunch time. And boy he he laid a monstrous egg in game five look at what James Horne didn't game five in the fourth quarter Arnie leading into game six dude at five fourth quarter points. This isn't just a game six issue. Yeah. This is this is almost a six quarter issue with and I know that doesn't make a lot of sense from a really trying to be logical about it. But starting in the third quarter. When Durant was gone when they should have found another level. It's almost as if I I'm not saying tanked, but it's almost as if it was an anchor that sucked him down which rant not being. There makes no sense to me. How bad they how they take. It. Look how you know hard takes just sitting back. You know, we know what we need to do figure it out. And then you look at Embiid, who's in tears. Man because of their loss to different people one. I'm sure is going to go to the strip bar and the other one's just going to figure out how we're gonna come back next year. And I'll say this though, I watched a I guess you could call it almost a documentary style piece on James harden today that dude's emotion doesn't change hardly at all. So I don't know how much you can read into that. He doesn't seem to be a guy that runs too hot or runs too cold. But I'm having a hard time disagreement to the rest of the teams like runs hot. Well, who who isn't? I mean, honestly couple of quick tweets. I like this from free who is people don't like the warriors dominating. And now, they don't like fresh fresh blood with Milwaukee. Toronto people don't know what they want. I think it's been great playoffs. So far. I I liked that tweet. I would read tweeted at thousand times, you're right. Oh, what do I hear? Well, this is warriors fatigue. Okay. Here's Milwaukee in Toronto new new fresh blood in Portland. Oh, I don't want them. That's that's that's a small. I don't want them. Right. I mean, again, if that's been your take this whole time, here's three pretty fresh. Teams Arnie and everyone's just s and all over them. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know again because it's it's not the blue bloods, and I can collagen yet see AA tournament. We love those first round upsets. But the blue bloods, better be there in the Sweet Sixteen the elite eight the final four saving goes for the NBA. You gotta have the blue bloods in there. Otherwise, people aren't going to watch. It's a magical year rights, Eddie if you're CPA three because that's as far as he ever goes in the playoffs and least he didn't physically fall apart. Yeah. No that doesn't seem to be which is. And then Fernando rights here in Vegas. We don't care about the ratings. NBA teams are worth billions. We're just degenerate gamblers. I mean, that's pretty much right? Isn't it is just about how much money you can make off them? Whenever you go to the window. Oh, and real quick MGM. John writes, the kiss of death will pick Milwaukee and their season will come to an end. Are you doing that later tonight or not gonna pick? Well, yes, I am going to pick them. But I'm not going to tell you how many games until later got fissile picks coming up next hour. All right. Well, when we come back to the Geico.

He's got no Kevin Durant. Fogies been out. The warriors have no bench. I know they've got championship part, and they stuff Steph in clay, I get that in a good coach. It is go time for James Horne to win this game and play. Well, you'd think James, I know your best both anything he plays ball tonight officer, you know, but I mean, he's not on the court. You know, you got Chris Pau some of the guys on the same stuff. Like, they're gonna help them pull it up. Hold on a second. I you're right. I mean when he is on the court there's four other guys next to him. Literally, your correct. But we don't talk about the four got when things are going. Well, we say James harden. So when things are going not, so well, don't you think it's fair to you? Bear the brunt on the guy who gets most of the praise, but it's going well. Bryce out of two. Got you. All right. So how can talk to us about Cham? How how's the shoulder? Let's get into your football team. Great division. A lot of good quarterbacks. Allot a tough tough offense. You have to play against the festively. But let's start with your team seven and nine a year ago. Obviously McCaffrey's obese we know the show. The defense is still very strong a good fan base. Good history. Where's carolina? Where are you guys at as a as a franchise direction wise right now? Whereas, you know, we'll make some changes on defense changes on defense. Three four defense. NFL? Let's go put more pass on the field. And we're gonna be able to get up to the quarterback more. Hopefully that creates more opportunities for me and Dante Jackson outside fix for. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. And of course on offense. You know, seeming these I saw I was just saying this day, our should say, I saw a picture of him the other day meant to say, and he's always been pretty athletic and pretty yoked twenty pounds of muscle. Big kid. We have post the in United take a second look at it when I seen him in a locker room. But I mean, he told me this just the picture, but he says that what he says. The same size. But you know, he's going he's going to show up to work every time he comes into he's terrific with James bradberry cornerback for the Carolina Panthers here on Tiki and Tierney in studio CBS sports radio. So when you guys go through and a lot of players go through this. Whether it's three four two four three or four three two three four. Whatever might be obviously, you know, the core of your responsibility doesn't necessarily change as a corner techniques not gonna change, but how much is the playbook actually change like how much do you have to inhale this off season as you switch defenses. Is it a lot? Is it something that seems overwhelming? For the cornerback situation. Religion chains job doesn't change also cover. I'm in going to be pretty much man to man three quarters concepts on outside. Is it really changes for the D lineman and linebacker so the front seven they've had to learn a lot more in the past few days with OT as going on. So I mean is interesting for them. Does let me ask you this. So you lined up at the line of scrimmage and opposite you is receiver. And is it easier for you with your skill set. Would you rather face somebody like? Mike Evans, his big any can run a little bit somebody. That's big and maybe a little slower, right? That you know, isn't necessarily going to get behind you or somebody who is more diminutive in terms of stature. But as a blur. And if you miss him on the first Jan he's going to get by you when you look bad seventy yards in the air. What's the tougher cover for you? The tougher covers definitely shift. Shifty guy John Brown of those guys. But how do you play them? Like what what's the key to making sure that they don't get vertical? When I lined up against him. You not get out crowd at the line of scrimmage, and I tried to get my hands on them. Knock them off the reference point targeting spot for Muslim down stay on top of them. And they can have the slant. They can have the hits you came nine row. Nelken no way. Can you tell right away when you lie save it's a young receiver? If he's even if he's a second year kid and you didn't play in the previous year, maybe somebody from a different division. Can you tell within the first couple of snaps if this kid wants to get physical, you gotta know right away. You can see in preseason was preseason fan because you know, they got to play their rookies. So we lost a lot of a lot of that Scott them, then and we'll see if they're real physical and go from new okay give when you look into James Bradbury for the Panthers. You look into the the backfield of the saints. Right. And you look at drew Brees. And you're what about twenty five years old now twenty twenty-five truce, basically forties, fifteen years older. Does he feel that much older? I mean does he is the bowl still in is? Are you starting to notice and I'm not asking you to distant? But he started to notice just a little attrition setting in. Where maybe drew isn't what he was when you first came in the NFL the way they were an office, man. He's still slinging it. He's very active with the ball. You know? That's the one thing that sets them apart from other quarterbacks not necessarily how far you throws equities. And when he when he does throw it, and he's still able to do that. So I mean is this social on defense when we go against them. He's I don't know how he does it. I mean, and he doesn't really get hit that often. That's the amazing about guys like Tom Brady, Tom's forty one years of age, and he's obviously different body type. He's bigger stronger. But these guys don't get popped that much. They just they're they're hard to hit. Tom clock. I mean, everybody's I hear ya. No doubt. And I don't want you to expand on that. But it just seems the guys who even ally and realize not that caliber, but, you know, alive for the most part does a good any can't run at all these guys that play, you know, thirteen fourteen fifteen years. They're so good at not getting hit. That would drive me nuts. You wanna pop one of these guys is the land of one's right? Yeah. Me from for the most part for like the way the game is nowadays. A lot of the dilemma, and they're kind of second guessing yourself when they do get get a hold of the quarterback. And also, you know, you have guys like Jameis Winston Patrick Mahomes. Very quarterbacks nowadays. Yeah. Yeah. It's funny. You bring up Mahomes because now, you know, whether you're linebacker, and you drop back in coverage or your corner, obviously safety not as much, but you know, it you start to look at a guy like Mahomes, and you think you have in pinned into a certain part of the field. Whether it's the sideline or certain spot. And now all these quarterbacks thrown from different arm angles. Russell Wilson's done it for a while, Patty Mahomes. Does it like he's a shortstop on the baseball field? You know, the column or is going to be doing this for the Zona cardinals. The the ever Lucia of the quarterback in your quarterback. Now is was a pioneer in his own, right? You know, big strong and fast. The quarterbacks are getting smaller than getting bigger getting smaller. That's got to be pretty pretty odd to see that happening because it's happening in real time right now. Yeah. Not the worst thing for db is to have a quarterback get out the puck in about time for the receiver. So of course, when you go against those quarterbacks. But I mean, you just got a kind of helps you go in a three four defense because those ends on outside can help saying those quarterbacks and keep them in a pocket. Yeah. So hopefully, we'd be able to do that. When we face guys like this. LA dodger fan, are you? Just Rockin just representing the city. And I was like I liked the head. I want it are you are you a lake who's your best? I know we talked baseball before who's your basketball team. Growing up L E Lakers fan. And what does that mean? Basketball like other than than the playoffs. Yeah. Watch it you think LeBron crazies it. You know, we talk about LeBron all the time on the show what a circus with the Lakers. I mean in the playoffs. They didn't. I mean, he's he's still LeBron is he? Lebron? Groin injury. He didn't have that. You know, they might have made it. No, I disagree with that. They were foreseeing when he got hurt. He got hurt on Christmas day, James bradberry here on Tiki and Tierney. You know, one of the things that I talk about all the time is the constant rules tweaks and changes if there's how much do you pay attention during the off season, you know, whether it's medicinal marijuana. Whether it's rule possible. Rules changes anything coming from the Commissioner's office. Are you the kind of player who was who was honed in on that or do you just basically want to know what you need to know how closely? Do you follow the league in the off season? They definitely make sure that we know the new rules that come out as of now we're still going over tackling rules going over the past interference. Of course. You know, they have that new rule sit in where they can replay. Yeah. You like that not terrible terrible for you. I mean, it takes some of the game. From the game. He's got us ought to find a way. Do you have to change technique a little bit knowing that now, I mean certain things, you know, you could get away with you're gonna have to change things up a little bit. I mean, really I just get a gauge based off the referees for the day. We Scott are teams that we play against opponents. But we also Scott the referees for that we like tendencies and how often they call certain flags and whatnot. So get a feel throughout the game..

Is it right to require someone to take drugs to compete in international sports on Wednesday. The Swiss-based court of arbitration for sport said yes ruling that the world's top middle distance runner. South African caster Semenya must suppress her naturally high testosterone levels to run in women's races. The court it must be said didn't appear overly pleased with its own decision. It fully admitted that the rule was discriminatory, but said the discrimination was necessary to uphold the integrity of women's events. The ruling on one hand if oak outrage shouldn't Semenya's physical abilities be celebrated the same way you sane bolts height and Michael Phelps. His wingspan are a BBC commentator argued yet. The ruling is also a natural outgrowth of another trend the increasing emphasis on. Biology in elite sports, if testosterone levels or red blood cell counts are the ultimate arbiter of athletic achievements. Then the discrimination against MS Semenya would seem to have some basis. But is that all there is to sport? Ms Semenya is also just a woman who loves to run fast and who has become an inspiration in her homeland. As this case shows, these issues can be difficult and nuanced, but the years ahead point to them becoming only more poignant. Now for our five stories for the day, we examine how existential fears are changing the behavior of Iran's regime. More human look into the first days of slavery in America, and how geeks took over the entertainment world. Our first story opposition protests. Venezuela Tuesday turned to clashes with security leaving demonstrators in little doubt of the risks. If they stay in the streets, but they are also in little doubt of how much their presence matters. On wednesday. The day Venezuelan opposition leader one guy, though, urged people to turn out in support of peaceful rebellion song garra was readying herself for another day on the streets. I know they can hurt me or take me prisoner. But I will not stop participating says miss garra. She says that she's afraid to protest sometimes. But that she's more afraid of President Nicolas Maduro staying in power than getting hurt while much of the focus has been on. Whether the military will come out to support. Mr. Qandil, no doubt key to success. The presence of thousands of protesting. Venezuelans is vital to what's unclear is how much appetite there is among Venezuelans to remain in the streets longer term and how much patience they will have with Mr. Glenville if he's unable to tip the balance of power in his favor. The stakes are high not only for Mr. Gwendal who is one of the only people involved in yesterday's announcement, not taking refuge in a foreign embassy. Wednesday's protests ended with some sixty people injured and abrasion episode of armored government vehicles driving into crowds of protesters. If this fails I will have to leave miscarriage says, but that's a last resort. This story was reported by Madonna's Anita in Dhaka's Venezuela. And when you lick in Mexico City for the monitor. Slavery tries to dehumanize even in history four hundred years ago, the first African was sold into slavery. And the American colonies research has already revealed an amazing story, and it's just the beginning. When an ongoing woman known as Angela was sold to captain Bill Pierce four hundred years ago at Jamestown in mart a seminal moment, the beginning of chattel slavery in the thirteen colonies, it came just weeks after the first general simply marked the first steps toward democracy. It was a symbolic year to say the least says historian James Horne, author of sixteen nineteen Jamestown in the forging of American democracy for two years. Archaeologists have been searching for her remains in an effort to bring humanity to some of the first of twelve and a half million Africans brought to the Americas to be enslaved before even arriving in Virginia..

"K. Shame. Gotta have. Right now, pick your president of why linen? Collide, leonard. The only one out of those that I've seen go toe-to-toe when the and beat the Bronx, you know, that Miami LeBron and that he didn't have an unfair advantage. Not K D. I got Steph exactly ally went right at it from the jump. And so, you know, when I see that if I could pair those two together, that's nasty, and you know, with the draft position that we have coming up this year with the young guys, whoever we choose to keep I really relied Hawaii to come back home since call George didn't want to I hope that worked out for you. George go. Why? That's right. Let them feel object. There's nothing small about your business. Your impact on the community has made a huge difference. As thank you during small business month. Dell is offering up to forty five percent off select computers with Intel core processors, plus get a free external hard drive with select PC purchasing. Call eight seven seven buydell speak with a small business. Technology advisor today, they seven seven by Dell for tech advice in one on one partnership. I would say that he had vantage. I think everybody. What's they give it to the lane? Now use tricks to try to get their shots. I don't think he's any different. It may bump guys off on going to the rambler everybody does that. So I would say he's found a way. It's kind of play the game within cheat the rules. I wouldn't say that. Has the Stein? The play might not everybody might like to see what he's been affected. Thank he's been sheeting. All right. You heard Katy he says that and doesn't cheat the game K D, by the way, this K D is so much more comfortable in his own skin. Now, you know, who I you know, who I am. You know, who I this double, you know, who I am K D home different. This yesterday's found. His voice. Acton junior still here with us. A Stephen I'll start with you should other players copy hardens playing style thick. So if they could pull it off, I don't think they can. But if you can why wouldn't you the fact of the matter is is that James harden is just a prolific offensive player we recognize that, but he's also magician. He knows the rule book. He knows how to facilitate things in his favor in terms of drawn fouls and things of that nature him NCP three or absolute experts at that. If you are playing in the NBA, obviously is not the most attractive way to go about doing things, but points are points. Whether they're from the field or from the free throw line point our point. And James harden has proven to be one of the best to have ever done. So in terms of scoring in the National Basketball Association. Why would you not want to emulate him? If you could particularly considering the fact that he's no Skywalker. His athleticism doesn't come. Ooh out at you. It doesn't blow you away his ball handling skills and shooting proud with you know, the way he can shake and bake, and and be evasive with his moods boogie down or you knew we know that. But if you can find a way to draw fouls as beautifully as he goes about doing. So why wouldn't you do it? Stephen a I've introduced everybody to the to a character. Coach Mackey from steady bucket. Correct talked about him a bunch last year and the year before and my daughter now goes to the girls program part of steady buckets coached by coach lefty, who's another great coach there, you know, coach lefty grew up in New York somehow as a Celtics fan coach day. Yeah. You know, coach left. He tells the girls we're not going to try to drive to draw fouls that the point is not if you get a foul fine. But we're not going to do that looking for the foul. We're gonna look to hit shots and make plays. Yes. So this is what I'll say it is smart to manipulate the rules. If you're James harden, and that's. Harden does he's a rules manipulator. I mean, my favorite baseball player. When I was a kid was Ricky Henderson crouch down made the strike zone. This big smart draw walks. I get it. But Ricki Henderson's gonna hit home runs and steal basis to and get on base. Not just by looking for the rest to help to help them. Anderson was a baller as James under pressure. And James harden under pressure is looking for the bailout. That's my beef. I agree with Kevin Durant. It's a smart way to play right up until the game is on the line. The three will tie. You're on the road. You need the win against the best team in. That's only the ever right? You need this win. And you're shooting the three, and you're so worried about sliding under dream onto try to sell a call that you brick the shot because your primary focus was not hitting the shot. That's my with James Horne beef with you is that that ain't the question. The question is should play his copy on and style. Now. He's topless dot on a ladder. Third and second. No, no, no, no, no, no, you can copy. Off until. Portent to draw the foul that hitting the shot you can copy his style. But you the shot number one. I got an offer that definitely wasn't the question. But but anyway, they should players copy hardens. Yeah. You know, he heard you max like I feel like you know, he is he's playing within the rules. And usually when you find a loophole when you find a way to to get through that they're probably gonna make up a rule called the heart and rule, you know, and there's I just I just can't be down with this literally sometimes where I feel like he's not trying to land. He shoots he throws the ball in the air. And he's just you know, I'm a fall I'm gonna fall down. And you can't fight for those calls. You always hear playthrough played through it play through it in. You know, I think he's been incredible. I don't wanna take nothing away from him the SaaS that do go in do go in those assists. The the rebounds is some of the greatest performances I've ever had to watch. But yeah, you cheat. Man, you not a Laker your cheating.

"Today. And if you had Alexa, Google home, just say toyed WFAN, and you'll be locked into the fans so Sunday shapes up to be pretty interesting sports day around here, you have been York Mets looking to avoid the sweep and it will be GIO Gonzalez on amount. Many met fans wanted GIO Gonzalez to be a part of their rotation. My voice, oh, I have to watch Jason Vargas every fifth day. And with the top guys not performing today capabilities. Even more of an aide for not starting pitcher. It will be Gonzales against Stephen. That's that's at one o'clock. You have the Yankees trying to sweep the San Francisco Giants with hormone amount. And then you have the islanders who it felt like had game on within their grasp. It looked like the island is we're going to get. Call that was going to go their way didn't happen standing at the goal tender interference which wipes off what would have been the island is goal that would've been game. One a much happier. One for them. Instead, you get overtime session in which they lose. The island is we're going to get hit in the mouth. The island is debt the shaft with that. Call absolutely would the islanders with certainty would they have won a game. You never know. You can't play the what if game in hockey very very tough to do in a one nothing game morning game. That's nothing. Nothing to say. Well, this would happen. That would happen. If the Vegas game where it's three mountain with fifteen minutes left to play and you feel like it. So that's one of those days, we say if that call is not me, there's no way in the world Vegas loses. And I do believe that this game. I can't necessarily say that game could open up pump bounces differ way. That said the island is lost. Again. These could have won. They were not going to go through this postseason on the feed it. They would always game to now going to learn about this team. They lost a playoff game try to void all to going back to Carolina. Can they put together three periods? Can they score? I can get that crowd into the game right out of shoot. It's not going to be the same home-ice advantage. Barclays compared to what you get in Nassau Coliseum. It's not. Push comes to shove gotta take the island is find a way to win game till Kansas City island is losing the first two game series. And then there are say funny way to win this series. That'd be asking a lot Scottsdale. Arizona Jeff next out of Fallas out. Jeff. JJ? How's it going, brother? Jeff. What's avenue, dude? What's shakin? What he got? Wanting out the hatred of the rockets as a self shaming Suns fan. I also hate them. But he left out Robert ory. So. Moving ahead to the city Yankees. It's I wanna talk about the potential problem in logjam that could be and I know you don't wanna look ahead too much. But I get a lotta Scott Brocha out of GO or shallow and the great defense he provides, and you know, a perceived weakness at the beginning of the year is now a positive with his defense guys making plays all over the field. And with Andrew hard having hair and the only way repair a terrorist to have surgery. Do you think the Yankees at all should be pushing him in the direction of surgery? With eighty coming back with omega plan the way, he is with having Torres but bird coming back if he expendable can we push them that way. No, I don't see it that way. Jeff. He's good hater. I mean, you go back to last year ago. And do our was your second at their invested day after day. And look I agree on the surface that GIO or Shoah has done playing time on this team GR shell as should be part of this Yankee team, I cannot let go a two or three weeks sample size influence and determine what I'm going to do what Miguel and do harm and forget about Greg bird. Greg birds got to fight his way back to the big leagues. Just still waiting on Stanton. You're still waiting on air and headaches. And in the meantime, Jeff, I think you have a very simple answer. And you have a very simple solution and do more if he is physically able to point their basis you at their base been that said you got a guy like her show who could slot. In and play one or two days a week. You get them one or two days a week. You utilize him in that regard. Scott Brosius is probably a bit of a joke. That's a bit of a reach. I can't see him as team Scott Brosius. Quite yet. I do think the have found something though. And at the very least, Jeff I want him to be a part of the fabric and his team the rest of the year. All right. I appreciate that. Thanks JJ. Jeff pre the call. I've wonderful night. Look I like her show. I think the have found something I just take it as a major strategy major h to say, well, this is why we'll tell mcgillion and do heart rate and rank and rig some more. And we know we all need it their base. That's like the overreaction kicking. It. That's always too much very. If or Shilla should cost anybody playing. The guy. I would look at is the guy was coming back off injury. Who was supposed to be the stopgap any absence of data Gorey's that being tried to whiskey which your shell a performing and with the Tories and to your point you have the honest if indoors coming back what kind of purpose destroyed whiskey serve on state. Manhattan. Eddie up next up any. Hey, jay. I'm doing right now. What's good, bro on the? Wow, man. Yeah. Man. What I want to about the message of pitching before before. I get to that up to go aggo, man. I just love believable. Surging. It really is incredible kind of this put up, man. But and then also on the Mets Peter Lonzo Mana mean, what do you think mean talk because I've talked to you about him. Right. Listen. He's the real deal. I mean, no one's buzz. You watch swing the bat. The ball jump self is bad. He has immense power. He's hitting the top of meadow order. I think he's going to have a Mazda here. I wanna be a key cog in your wind of now for years to come. But isn't it amazing? Ed, these great first month that of Alonzo you great first month that Jeff mcdill Conforto has done a very good job. And yet egg the Mets lose Sunday to the Milwaukee Brewers. They're came onto the five hundred Mark. Yeah. Man. No, the pitching hasn't been good. And that's what I want to get to the pitching. I'm not worried about the I'm not gonna create about the klom thought. I don't think it should be pitching in this kind of weather night. But that's okay. I think he's going to straighten himself, but I'm kindergarten, man. I'm telling you man, this whole four per on hold bobblehead game with window, man. We're done without ready. And that was a couple years ago. You know, the whole dock night. Okay. Fine. You know, what it's time to just put that Michelle and how to pitch this guy. Got anyone in baseball. He tows hard. He ninety five miles outside of you know, what he's out pitch because we need him. And and that's another guy. You know, what I was okay? With bringing him back. Jimmy, the eighth inning guy. Guys got up, man. He crazy you can figure it out. But you know, he was also tonight the Mets came back. He got into game and here right back to them. You know, it's early. I'm not gonna crazy. But but those two guys are key the myth a really serious contending than the garden familiar. They gotta straighten. No question about it in great great point. And if you listen to started his show. We really gave it to know. Syndergaard. I've been very. God because he's been talking to big game has an opinion on everything. And my mindset has always been you gotta go out there every fifth day and back it up, and you know, what? Ed, if you will get the way he's performed over the first month of this year. He has not backed up. He hasn't done the job. And he's very hateful. I mean, that's the best way to describe it. He's going deepen accounts. He's not putting guys away. He's got no feel for his slider. And we've seen the Milwaukee Brewers the Saint Louis cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies all give it to a guy who is supposed to have this on Hannibal stuff and you'll ride so for this year, he has not come close to living up to that door billing that door mentality and Ed over the last three years his what you could say about Noah Syndergaard injuries. And now underperformance have gotten the way of him living up to being one of the best pitchers in baseball. All and you know, what that was the sort of standard. I don't we were gonna hold no cigar to. Everything you say is essential. But you know, what? I mean, I gotta believe that you know, one day. Dave, I, you know, they gotta figure this out, man. But this this stuff. Talk about a couple of the game. You don't you think that you know, he gets too cute. Maybe you know, what? I mean, you know, Syndergaard. He's I mean, he's overwhelming stuff, and he's got to be able to figure it out. We can put these guys away. Man, it just unbelievable many taking too long, and he's got this forget about all this other stuff, man. It's one, but you know, getting into way, I think the whole of the whole thing. Can't forget about that. Dude. You gotta go out. And you gotta be what man you got to be a to be a good team, and Eddie, you gotta have a wonderful. The best thing Noah Syndergaard can do. Stay quiet stales Twitter. Stale -fensive go out and pitch. We discover your motel because he will shook do you watch him pitch on Saturday night. To not have a feel for a slider to not be able to put a hitter away. It's one thing when Christian yelich taking date. It's another one Ben gamble is taking date. Give me what pitch and concern about more synagogue, or it's not close. It's Noah Syndergaard. Let's say to Manhattan Joe joins us seize up next on the fan. What's up gel? J and J music factory. L all your brother. Oh, yeah. Oh, all is. Good. Joe is good. What's happening? Listen, my brother. I I wanna talk to but two seconds about Syracuse. I did not realize maybe you did. While you were there. What a civil war hero town that it was you aware old. Honestly was not showing a child that good history. I'll let me some good history. I know idea it was a big time civil war down. You. Learn something new every day. The the the circus minute men was sent out there on behalf of the north is monuments everywhere and Syracuse has happened in these days. I hadn't been up there in twenty years. I went up, and it's funny. Give you and bring that up really a lot of great history up there and sewn with but let me let me quickly just specially couple of points. The first being the the NBA. It's funny to listen all the goals of the NBA because in my opinion, the of the super team and LeBron James is just ruined. The NBA starting ten fifteen years ago. To listen to the show and listen to call the NBA you're waiting for the finals to well. Aloun the matter what season to season, and I guess that's a quarter resports or quarter, midget sports. But it's just a it's tough to listen to. I don't know if you agree with that stuff jailed, the idea that this no parent in the NBA hurts the sport. But when you're watching the best of the best compete Bron James Steph curry, Kevin Durant, James Horne.

"One. So once Natasha's in police custody. They learned that Natasha, went with Marcus to move Siamese car after the murder, she the park and ride along route thirty in Pennsylvania after the murder, and she drove him to Home Depot to buy a bag of agricultural lime to bricks into bottles of bleach tub clean the blood in the house, would he do with line line. What's out of line? Use to clean. No, no, no. Use it to clean, but it also disintegrates so you put lime on bodies. It's kind of like acid than it. What are the brands for that? Don't know one of the bricks for ability to bricks. I don't know. I don't know what to what you would do with two bricks line bleach. That's well the police is probably for the blood or whatever. But the bricks are confusing here anyways, so you're Tosh is in custody, and she eventually starts just confessing. Yeah. And she starts singing. Yes. She starts telling one of the officers obviously the first thing that's going to say is that I'm proud to Marxist child as one does. But we know the article that we pull this info from they weren't able to confirm whether or not that was true or not. And then we never saw anything. Right. So whether that's sure not unchargeable. So she's charged with homicide. She's charged with tampering with evidence abusive a corpse obstruction and then criminal conspiracy on each count. Marcus is charged with first degree murder kidnapping tampering with evidence obstructing the administration of law, and abusive corpse and conspiracy, and they're both held your Kenny, prison Nobel, and they're waiting a preliminary hearing. All right. So what do we think as far as motives? All right. Well, let me just point one thing out is that. So Natasha was. All right. Let's talk about how James Horne Sammy's new boyfriend was the first target. And it's like as a Natasha. If Tom you wanna kill your new your ex girlfriend's new boyfriend, like, why am I think she was just going along with it to kind of get the other people involved because it's like she from Natasha's mind? She obviously just wants to get rid of any sort of threat in her relationship, which why she wanted to get rid of lacy more than Sammy, because at least he's pregnant hurriedly is probably the most recent ex. Yeah. Sammy had a baby the baby was a year old. So that's like a lesser threat because it's like yeah. A year as path. But maybe she was just jumping on the bandwagon, if he like hated this James Horan guy. And it was like, okay. It just means that he's still cares about Sammy. Oh, definitely for sure. But the fact that she'd be like cool. You're still you're angry at your old, right? I'll excess people are very young. I know. But that wouldn't you feel like why are you sorry? All right. So when you were a seventeen year old, and if you're with a boy that you liked, and the boy said, I wanna kill my ex girlfriend's boyfriend. Yeah. And you were really, really into him what would you do? I mean I wouldn't go. I understand that. Twenty one okay. Younger. But it's okay. Obviously motive is just jealousy in everybody is weird way not understanding the consequences of your actions. Like the fact that they were all they had fifteen thousand text messages between the two of them talking about this murder, but then also being like, well, maybe we shouldn't be texting about is like they just don't understand the severity of what they're going to do or maybe never intended to do it. I mean you start buying stuff. I feel like I mean the fifteen thousand text messages, maybe some of them once you start buying shit. It gets real. It can be it can be construed as that. And that's one of the reasons why that, you know, with with Hansen vs predator and all that stuff. They always Hansen with the. Yeah. Predator, but it was called handsome vs predator on, on crunch down. Well, it was so the last version of it. So they always would tell the purpose who were coming to bring stuff, so they would the equal. Yes, yes. The girl would cookies. So they would always bring Mike's hard lemonade and McDonald's and condoms, and they would come in because that showed intent. So I hear what you're saying at the text messages. Exactly. So, so, so, bringing that it's not just like, oh, always assessing around with the text messages, seeing them, actually buying stuff. That is like, all right. That's one step closer to you really want to just this like. Just this like sick twisted fantasy between the two item. Exactly. And I did ask Brooke, why she thoughts each of them? What each of the roles were like why did Marcus want to kill Sami and how to Natasha get involved in to what degree was she involved? I think that it was probably a mix of, of anger and jealousy, going back to Marcus's personality as a whole really quiet, but he's definitely got that air of aggression. So I think he probably was just angry that I don't actually I don't exactly know how him and Sammy split up, but I think he was probably angry that they weren't together Homer, and angry that. He had this baby with her, and that she was kind of moving on, and leaving that piece of her life behind. And then I think just touching back on the tasha like I said growing up she was always really insecure. And I think she just found Marcus who were able to at least convince her, that he loved her so much and he was the best thing for her. And I think she really just fed into that. And she believes that, that was the best that she could get. And that he was everything she needed. And I think she really was just willing to do anything in her power to keep keep Marcus in her life. And so, I think that's probably how she justified it and how she got herself involved in that mess was. That little bit of teenage girl, and security mixed with having that manipulative relationship from what I read he kind of Lord her an with the babies saying the baby needed her, and I don't, I don't personally have any kids, but I am one of six sisters. And so I just can't even like it makes me sick every time I even think about it because no one is just not going to go. And then I don't know just her family seems so. They didn't even know where to put that Greece. It was just so much surrounding it. I didn't know Sammy, but of course, like I said at that time, I mean, Facebook was huge but getting kind of the facts from these news articles, but also the reaction from people that they were people that didn't know her people from all sides of the story, and it just seemed like the entire town, even extending pass out to the town where where she was just seemed like they were screaming her not only for her life, but also the circumstance because that is something that I think, really could happen to any young woman or man with a child. You say they need. You you're gonna go out of the way that Marcus killed. Sammy is intense. I mean, sounding someone that many times is not. He stopped someone wants and a lot of people are like oh shit. I what did I just do? But stabbed him that many times in a row is almost like you almost have to be in a in a state. You're not in your right mind. When you do that. And so just imagining all of that play out is really like the most intense part of it for me. Marcus goes to trial. I and initially pleads not guilty to the charges against him including first degree murder kidnapping tampering with evidence obstructing the administration of law, abusive a corpse and conspiracy, but due to the cruel and gruesome mater of the crime and the conspiracy, and planning, he was facing the Libdeh the death penalty that is the sound of the death penalty. Yeah, that's stressful. The death penalty though, in fact was not is not that common Pennsylvania. So, but with this says is like this is their taking it really seriously because it was such a brutal disgusting thing to do. Yeah. The, the notifications whenever something new came out. But really, it just kinda stressed me out imagining her in, in this situation. Someone my own age that shared a lot of caracteristics that we did all these things together. It's kind of, like gave me an overall sense of anxiety anytime I thought about it. So I didn't follow it incredibly closely. I did check in on it every few months to see what had been decided for both of them. But mostly kind of on the side of Natasha. And then, of course when they brung around the death penalty for Marcus, I kind of started following a little bit more closely because I know that's not a super common punishment in Pennsylvania. So definitely was interested in seeing how all of that played out. I haven't exactly made up my own opinion on the death penalty yet, but I don't think it would have been unfair, especially just. How many how many lives he really affected not just him and tasha and Sammy, and the baby not just the people directly involved in this crime? But also all of the people in Sammy's life, all of the people in the tasha of life that he, he took as to from. And so I don't think it would have been an unfair punishment. But I don't know that I can say that. I think he deserved it, but definitely was a little bit shocking to imagine somebody that I knew up against that death penalty.

"Sample of their dry shampoo with your purchase. Okay. So that was kind of the layout of Natasha in Marcus Marcus's relationship. But let's refresh where we are now in the investigation, Marcus is in custody. Same. He has been murdered stabbed multiple times in the police are in the throes of kind of the preliminary investigation phase and they're trying to wrap their heads around kind of this tangled web of relationships that Marcus has created an entangled himself in so they know Marcus has a girlfriend, named tasha, you know, that he is a baby with Sammy, and she's the focus of this investigation. And of course, they want to speak with Natasha because they wanna just know they want to gather all the information, the Ken. But it's becoming clear that Marcus is kind of dating several several women at once and they know that they have a lot to deconstruct yet. And as the interrogation is going on a woman walks in the walks into the riceville borough police department and her name is Lacey sour, and she says, you know what I was dating Marcus? Okay. Now that one. I am dating my. And you know what I'm pregnant with his child. But that's not all. She says that you know what? Marcus sent me a text message on April eighteenth which said simply. Quote, I'm going to kill someone. So obviously the next thing in the cops do they're pulling up his text records, seeking the April eighteenth is a is a day before Sammy's. Martyrdom murderer. Yeah, exactly. So obviously what they find is going to be disturbing. And they I found these normal tax conversations between him and Natasha, they're talking about dinner plans or talking about classes, and in between that they find some tax about them conspiring to kill more than one person and the first exchange that they find out Marcus was asking tasha about incapacitating someone with demerara, which is a pain medication in addition to chloroform. And then over the course of the next few months, they were conspiring to kill not only Sammy, but her boyfriend James Horne. So those aren't the only two people that he is talking about killing they're also talking about killing lacy sour the. Current girlfriend current other girlfriends. Okay. So he's he wants to kill Sami. He wants to James horn, and he wants to lazy. Okay. I they were, there were small Denny tax that I was just like shocked that I mean, people make those little comments like, oh, I wanna kill him. And you're just like okay, 'cause it's not most of the time, it's not serious. But then when it's a whole conversation with plans. It is definitely not feeling like why was why did that never kick in, like, hey, this is wrong. We're not actually going to do this, or, and then also just kinda from the other side of things devil's advocate like it was just very obvious to leave that tax trail. So batches struck me odd q, that's like the easiest way to get yourself in trouble. When you're planning all this horrible stuff that it just seemed really disgusting. But also like kind of stupid at the same time, like not well-thought-out, not at all the person that I knew to be Natasha. And like I said, we grew we kind of grew apart. They've last couple of years in high school, just maybe back and forth between where I lived then and my hometown. But was not at all. Then trash, I knew that wasn't something that I could ever. Even Sodom her saying in seriousness, or, and just getting sucked into this. I really was shocked and almost in disbelief, but she would be involved in that not just. Like by chance, but kind of willingly and wantonly. So the first plan that Natasha, Marcus seemed to have put any real thought into was this conspiracy to kill Sammy's boyfriend James Horne so per the tax. It seemed that Natasha originally, devised a plan to follow James home from the local bowling alley, and kill him though. The plan never came to fruition police said that in preparation to carry out the plan Marcus bought bleach cable ties a lock and a baseball bat at a local, WalMart. So, again, buying them, all at the same time from the same store, only by a bad on your way to, like the practically baseball in their CCTV, catching you to do it only by. He probably or, or look around your house. You should have far from your mom for the love to give anybody ideas by. After picking up the supplies, he expresses his anger, with Sammy, and asks, can we do this thing soon? Let's go and talk to tells Marcus that she's fine with that. But told him to figure out same as work schedule in order for us to start somewhere. She wants a starting place for this, too. Oh, how are we going to kick this thing off? So Marcus sends Natasha a text. Which says, I don't know who to do. I actually says ID k who to do first Lacey or Sammy. And in the message back Natasha writes back that she knows that Marcus wants to kill Sami more than Lacey. But that Natasha herself wants to kill lacy more than Sammy. So this is your sort of typical lover spat when it comes to psychopathic lovers. So texting the they, she says to him, I d b k so I don't know, because I'll do this for you. Yes, I don't know because you need me. They're like for the other half with the car. So she's kind of laying it over him. Gary. Don't do it without me. And so can starting continue with the conversation. Natasha tells Barca's. That she doesn't want it to do it on on by himself. She wants to be there. And the police are going to see them talking about the murder, and their tax messages, which they really should have talked about beforehand. Don't talk about that in the text messages. Don't talk. Don't talk about how police are going to talk about fight club. So she continues on insistent, the whole thing is going to take really, really careful planning and to avoid getting caught. She warned him that, you know, you're going to be the prime suspect. So we really need to be careful with all of this. So let's contest they're talking now. Now text. That's just insane. Real. So two days later at twelve fifty in the morning. Their tax are continuing Marcus texted Natasha to say that Sami was at his house, and he asked should I do it. Now. Natasha replied that she didn't know Mark Azan told Natasha that he can quote can do it now and leave from the basement and put her car in the carpool spot. Natasha said she didn't want him to do it alone. And in a series of falling messages, she repeatedly asked Marcus to wait for her in warned that he would be caught. It's just so weird to beg somebody to want to be involved in a murder. Like I want to do this. Don't you without they don't go to this cool new bar without me. It's like I can't wait till we get to the point of this discussion where we get into the minds of these people because it's like they totally lost sight of reality. It's odd. It's very so then at one twenty five in the morning. Marcus sends a tax saying, I'm sorry. I can't I'm going to do it soon. And Amen later police say that he called a tasha and told her to come to his house. So. All in all the police found more than fifteen thousand texts between tasha and Marcus discussing the planning of these murders over the course of months, then surprisingly after this Marcus is already in custody. Natasha was arrested and charged for the part. She played in San me's murder, too. A second arrest is made in the death of a twenty one year old York county, mother and the details are disturbing. And this is the home where Samantha Young's body was found. It's boarded up now her ex boyfriend lived here. He was arrested shortly after her death in April. But now believes her saying this case involves several other people three people who could have also been killed, and one other who police say helped plan Young's debt, six pages is on the longer side for charging documents. But that's how much needs to be explained about the second arrest and this Amanda, young barter, the twenty one year old's body was found locked in a shed at her ex boyfriend's home in writes, fill in April. Marcus borderline was arrested. The two had a one year old daughter together. Now, Natasha's Stover also from York county is locked up charged with attempted homicide and conspiracy. Police paperwork, outlines text messages between Stover and board. Awin spanning four months outlining the pairs plans to kill three people. James Horne was first. He was young new boyfriend. Police had the payer stake, down his routines Boardman, even bought bleach cable ties a lock and baseball bat. According to police text messages retrieved on the phones include quote, I just want this guy gone. I want her to feel how miserable I was when all of this happened, but then the plant shifted young police say stove was not at home when he killed young but did buy supplies to clean up blood and help move her car a woman at stover's home. Did not want to speak with us. A third almost victim lacy sour did speak to us online. Documents say Boorda win and Stover also talked about killing her. She was Boorda wins current girlfriend who is now pregnant, it's all just really tragic, and scary tonight. Now, both Stover and Boardman are in New York county prison. "ESPN NBA front office insider, Jordan cornet ESPN basketball analyst. All right. It's interesting because we talked to Nick for Dow he's at the warriors game the warriors currently handled in the pistons. And if you think about it, the warriors are sort of and we had one hundred times because war is up ninety seven seventy seven gets business started with one quarter. It's the NBA. And then the warriors about that. And everyone knows whoever's likely to come out of the west is likely to win per se. I do like the east chances this year because it was an arms race at the trade deadline. You know, this Bobby what the bucks adding MIR with the seventy Sixers obviously getting is like teams are trying to win now. And there are going to be some contenders out of the east, but we all know is a certain number of teams, especially in the west that likely can do the real damage. I know Nick is not necessarily high as you alluded to join on the rockets, I'm sitting in Houston right now. Like watching you of eight I still think that the Rockies have a chance. Especially the way they played the warriors early in the year. Without James harden. Chris Paul flexing its muscle when you can't say, I'm back. But if you look at the west is. Thunder sort of not really playing to their best potential. They've been hot and cold sorta similar to self the Celtics. Are you look at Denver Denver's right now tied in wins both forty nine wins. So I think it really matters to them if they can surpass the win total along now has an easier. Schedule down the stretch Denver as a very hard scheduled down the stretch. But every game matters Portland quietly at the fourth spot clippers loudly at the fifth spot. Okay. See thunder. We talked about them there. A couple of teams out west. I mean, we gotta salute coach Pat for having the Spurs in eighth position based on how they stand Utah Donovan Mitchell, and like they always have a chance Bobby who are you looking to in the west saying, okay, they can really content with the warriors potentially. I mean, I think it has to be Houston because if you look at and I think we know what to do with the eight teams are going to be in the in the playoffs. It's just a matter of where the sheetings gonna be. Everyone has got some flaws here. I are we are we willing to trust Denver right now based on what they've been able to great regular season, but outside of Paul Millsap and Mason Plumlee, none of those players have been in a big game playoff spot before. I think what Houston's been able to do when we basically wrote them off in December. When Chris Paul hurt with how I mean, James harden has single handily. I mean. An outdated a lot of people here. I saw Bernard art king back in the eighties gonna stretch in when he was with Nixon games of like four games in Rio. And I thought it was like the greatest thing ever. James harden has done this year. I mean, it's a joke. The other night against San Antonio as far as they're down six, and he basically came down to hit like four threes in a row. So I think Houston being in the big spot already with Chris Paul playing at a high level right now. I think everyone else is great stories. But I don't know if I can trust, you know, Portland clippers have been a great story. Okay season so up and down here in Utah in San Antonio. So yeah, I think if you're asking me join it's probably going to be. It's probably going to be Houston. Yeah. And that's why I know Nixon in the belly of the beast, quite literally was at it was at a game while we talking to him. And I think that he's probably bought it not bought in. Because Nick, I know covers this this thing straight matches homers it, but I think he's better out a team that has shown so much confidence that it's only about those guys in the locker Golden State, and there is no obstacle. The Nick has maybe been a little little prone to believe that too. I was surprised how dismissive he was about. This used a team. That's what it was. I love naked death. He does great work. But he dismissed the idea like Houston just doesn't have enough firepower. And I think that's what they do possess, obviously behind what behind what James harden been able to do which to me, he's the MVP. I don't know how that's that's a debate. And I know there's been some great performances out there. The Greek freak is one. That has good argument. There's a few other guys but with. The high usage and the delivery and not only is he as an offense mastermind. He's a two way player. I mean, he's committed to being a defender in one of the best guys it turned over his opponent. How he guards in the post is something to be celebrated. He's taking great pride in that this team. That's changed. How they've approached their wing production. Again, James harden has been magnificent. Chris Paul bounce back from the hamstring which was not expected. The one thing that worries me about the rockets Salvi defend and I talk about James harden to turn his opponent over. That's where this team defensively. Butters their bread turning over the opponent can't generate turnovers. They can't stop nose bleed defensively. And I just don't know if they get into these games where it's James harden score. It was a little bit of help from an Eric, Gordon, Chris Poland, whomever, can they keep that up at a seven game series. If they're so reliant defensively on turning the opponent over otherwise, they can't get. Stops that's problematic to me. That's thrown cornet here with Bobby marks McKay. Right here on, you know, I'm not to tell you my address because people crazy out here. But I'm here the two eight one eight three two seven one three talking here. MBA insiders about the west in largely the biggest adversary to the warriors. And that has to be in my opinion, as I sit in Houston, Texas, the rockets, and I just look and you bring up a great point, Jordan. How can you not say James harden is the MVP, and the reason why people are afraid or don't want to say he is in my opinion is how he plays the ball. You know, how he how he really dominates the ball. How you plays the game? I love you honest. I'm Nigerian of the coupon. That's my best player on the best team twenty seven twelve and fix will turn his ankle knickknack still play winning. I get it. But James Horne do like what he's doing? We have not seen in a very long time. I mean, anytime we compare James finds feeds we're comparing it to Wilt Chamberlain like against the Spurs, which I don't know if you guys know, I think they call it the item rivalry back here in Texas. I don't know if you guys know it doesn't matter when it's actually rivalry game. When the rockets says, it's always a good game. Despite where those teams are individually or in their narratives throughout the season nineteen thirty four from the field nine for thirteen from three sixty one points in thirty seven minutes. I mean, he's scoring sixty points and making it look easy. He's making it look comfortable now. I know a lot of. The people hate on his game. I do this a lot Bob. You've heard this. People step back. Do do. Line. Like, I understand that. But what people don't even see that? Okay. Take away the three I'm gonna get to the rim gets a valley. Take with days even got the floater and people just any was even in the mid range. Like, I love you Anderson. I love what you're doing. But I think last year LeBron James and everything he has done. So far has shown us that most valuable player award probably in this modern day is gonna side towards the actual most valuable player for a team nine. I Janas is extremely valuable to the butts and they're winning. But what James harden has done? He has recesses resuscitated this rocket season. And now he does happen in your credit joint. He does have the firepower with teammates like if you get a couple of shooters, Eric, Gordon or even being a house has been a good expert. Chris Paul doing his thing James harden. And the rockets if they are healthy, I do think that they might be motivated. They did have the homecourt advantage. They might be motivated enough to take on the words. I don't know. Oh, I know. But if there's a year to try might as well be now. So I'm gone with James harden for MVP as I sit in the two eight one now coming up next really fake takes a poke at the NBA draft in who really might go number. What it might not be who you think coming up next on MBA insiders on ESPN radio on the ESPN app. Stay with your radio,.

"You're right here on seven seven thirty thirty seven sixty six sixty six seven full disclosure. These two rockets. A nineteen point lead against the wall. Dangerously brutal loss for Houston. That all being said, I totally understand the critique and the boy that they put on Scott foster who is a hideous official who is an official that always seems to be the star. And there's nothing worse than sports in my opinion. When the official thinks they are that guy when they think they are bigger than the game. And I understand James Horne had a couple of questionable charges that went against them. And I understand James Horne fouled out of the game. That said when you have a four point game. And you got a guy like Chris Paul, Mike dantonio bellyaching, a you if you're an official you got eat it, you got to be the bigger, man. You got to walk away from that situation to basically put that came out of reach because you wanna be bigger than the game. I'm sorry. That's an absolute joke. Don't let me tell you right now. So what was alarming because I never thought any of the calls outside because I'm with you actually would not call any. I don't like the idea of technical fouls to begin with for arguing. I don't like the idea of penalizing teams points because you're arguing. Tune in the second quarter with thirty seven. And again, I'm with you. I don't like that. I think it's dopey. I'm totally with you on that in general. I don't like the idea of technical fouls. But it happens part of the game. You don't want players whining too much, which they do. Anyway, I never thought I only watch the last five minutes to this game. After I got back the hideous net loss of the trailblazers. I never thought any of the calls were that egregious. I thought that both charges against James harden. We're fair I thought they were legitimate calls. What's alarming is the rockets issues with Scott foster in general? What's alarming is the fact that this season? The rockets are oh seven when Scott foster officiates their games. What's alarming his last year in the Western Conference finals? So it isn't necessarily anything from this game a game. The Lakers need to have the Lakers basically in every game in their way, especially Sacramento lost. That last night. They almost came back against the warriors. They're battling to make the postseason. But. Anything anything was that awful in this game? But I think when you look at the scope of Foster's history with the rockets, I mean, it's it's tough to argue. There's something there is tough to argue. And I thought James harden. Well, not a huge fan off came across very compelling after the game because he was calm wasn't yelling wasn't cursing was very calm and never brought up any specific play in this game. He said, I got a problem with this guy. You know, I try to talk to them. I try to communicate with them, and it's all about him. And he's our again. And and I thought expressed his case. Well, I found myself agreeing with James harden and feeling for James harden with the comments he made after this game. And there's no denying what the record says the rockets seemed to get hosed every time they face. When Scott fosters efficient last night games. Yes. And I'm not one that's usually throwing out conspiracy theories. In fact, I dismissed somebody couple of days ago who throughout a conspiracy theory that being said Dell enter reading the Tim Donaghy article that I saw a couple of days ago on ESPN aside from calls to Tim Donaghy and his bookie we call right after that second list. Give you one guess. Well, you're going to say Scott foster, and I would just say that Tim, Donna, he's got no credibility. So I don't really care what he says. So I understand your point. And there may be something there. I fixing games. But no, I don't think. You know, what it is? We're all humans. Right. We're all human beings, and what we need officiating. And I'm Pires is for them not to be human seriously. They can't be human. They can't let the way they feel about Chris Paul. Who's a whiner? Chris Paul is a baby he always has been what athletes baby. So that's fine. I agree. I think that Scott fosters problem is probably that he's letting his feelings towards a baby. Like, Chris Paul get the better of. So I don't think anything corrupt or I'm fixing games or I'm shaving point. They influence gaps. Of course. Influence games in big ways influence an NBA game. And the easiest sport to influence. Just get the star player in foul. Trouble and get his ass on the bench. It's simple or out of the game. Of course, you can. But I think if anything if I had to assume what's going on with the rockets and Scott foster is he doesn't like Chris Paul James harden, Mike, Dan, Tony or PJ talk are eight eighty apparently every game he calls. He gets James harden into foul trouble. But the other story from this game. I think is the most compelling story outside of your own team you root for it. So for me, of course, then that's our most compelling fan. But the most compelling story in the NBA right now. And it's very rare to find compelling stories at the season. Yeah. It's the Lakers making the playoffs, and we'll do it. Yeah. It's actually a really good story. And what I like about it. The Lakers are a good basketball team the kings are a good basketball team the kings last night. I don't know if you saw how they almost came back buddy healed had not hit a three in this game was actually having a pretty good game. But has not hit a three hits back toback. Threes gets them within two Andrea Gonzala goes to the line. Mrs both free throws, and buddy healed gave up. I wanna say good look from three. It would have basically been a heat. Check three Takaona take off off-balance fatally shot that ends up coming up short the kings loss, but the kings are a good team. So you've got a playoff race in the NBA. That features the biggest star since Michael Jordan in LeBron James missing the playoffs, which doesn't even seem real LeBron James missing the playoffs. And you've got a compelling playoff race that isn't about to bad teams trying to make the playoffs. It's about to good teams too. Young teams one that features the greatest player of our generation Trentham avoid the abandonment of missing the playoffs. I know the NBA ratings are down. I gotta tell you. I find the whole Laker playoff storylines sort of appealing about it. You have the trailblazers excuse me. Not in make Sara Houston Utah. San Antonio clippers the kings and the Lakers. So you have six teams. Basically between four games the difference between a five seed, and where the Lakers are is four games. Yeah. It's a lot of sizzle down the stretch here. You know, what's funny right now, the clippers of the and they've played well since they made the Tobias Harris trade, and I guess on just arguably assuming they're keeping it up agree. I'm arrogantly assuming in the Spurs are on a trip right now. Has come to New York over the weekend that the Spurs will make the playoffs. I think the jazz will make the playoffs. So I kind of you the race as a Laker king race like the old days, the big Laker king rivalry two thousand two Western Conference finals. But you're right. You do have a lot of teams that are relatively can't. Even bury the Minnesota Timberwolves. I hope Karl Anthony towns. All right in a car wreck. Yeah. Heard about that. But this actually has a chance to be a rare compelling playoff race in the NBA. And it's compelling because it features project. And the idea that LeBron James may miss the playoffs is sorta filarial on Evan. Here's the silver lining. Now. You think about the winner of that? I know we stay on your face could be another chance full Braun in the gloss Angeles link is not the Cleveland Cavaliers this time around to get their rear ends kicked by the Golden State Warriors in one note, Mr. foster, you didn't know that he was taken off a game seven between the warriors in a thunder a couple of years ago. Right. So this topnotch official said he was a top notch official. It's just that. I think his issues right now specifically in this situation is that he lets I guess he's a feelings are individual feelings towards players get. Happen. It's not a defensive the only defense. It is the only defense making of him is that I don't believe he's in any corrupt gambling scandal. And whenever that by now. But but when you bring up Tim Donaghy, that's what you're implying. No, no. No. No. No. No. No. And okay. You don't have to care. I'm just I'm telling you that when you mentioned Tim Donaghy for any reason at all. That's the implication your make hay when you have a tiny relationship. NBA facial? Sorry. No. That's fine. Problems like this. And there are trends like this. I'm not saying it's a definitive type thing some. I'm just gonna Jesus thin skinned man. Did that's a problem? You can't be thin skinned when you're an official. You said this off air I thought it was a good comparison for the baseball fans listening was ain't it appears sometimes like angel. Let's things get in the way of his emotions. And that's that. You can't do that as an official or an empire. Let's head to Anthony up next on the fan. Hello, Anthony JJ. Evan. Jay. How you guys doing? We aren't doing. Well. What's gonna listen Evan? What JJ calling Donaghy because I did want to mention that. That's not just out of thin there. They investigate. They had Donna he's records phone records from oh sticks. He called his bookie something like a hundred and twenty times, and then he called foster over one hundred and thirty five times. So again where there's smoke. There's fire. Hold on Anthony if there was enough smoke. He wouldn't be in the league, you think the NBA? How do you know because the NBA Adam silver is not a complete moron. Why one thousand four out of the six thousand Harding last night. We're all sensitive J brought up the point. Did you? Did you not? Did you not think they were legitimate calls? Did you watch the game in a league where the superstars get away with calls? I mean excuse. Jay Schwartz going to get that call. I understand what I watch candidate. Game getting a questionable. Call more times than Nyunt old think it was questionable. Anthony, Anthony, Anthony. It only speak on the two offense of fouls. I saw late in the game. I thought they were legitimate offensive fouls. So do use the excuse of well come on stars. I don't care. I'm watching the game. I thought they were both offensive fouls. And here's the point about the NBA if the NBA smelled any smoke with Scott foster, he wouldn't be in the league. Why do you think how do you think the league we keep Scott foster around? They don't want anything to do with the stench of ten Don monumental mistake. So why would they I would hope they wouldn't they wouldn't? That's the answer. They wouldn't why would the league risk something like that? We can get into conspiracy theories. Still cast come home. The bigger issue is Scott foster and the way he's dealing with players around the league. It's gotta change. Absolutely. But I think there's a difference between criticizing a guy for that. Which I'm doing and basically saying, oh, yeah. He's fixing games..

"So it's funny. How that doesn't Hansen your legacy down the road? But as far as Zayn Williamson or anybody else in the future. It's going to be up to the individual to what they wanna do your view on. It's going to be different than my view on it. If I was given this ridiculous talent and molded it as a teenager as a fourteen year old, and I was told by scouts. Hey, you're going to be the number one pick in the draft. Honestly, I probably wouldn't go to college. I'd probably want to get paid. That's just me. I'd say, you know, what I want to get paid. And I'm the opposite. That's fine. That's the beauty of each zone. Do what you wanna do? This injury has. Been annoying and I feel bad for him. Somebody start before I say, it's annoying. I feel bad for Zion. Williamson. I hope he's okay. President Obama was treated about me. I get hurt. I slip outside. I think I'm getting a tweet from Obama saying, oh, I wish he's like a good care. Meanwhile, President Obama's cursing himself out thinking why even come to this? Reggie look he's got he's got a ways in Spike Lee, probably didn't pay either. But the truth is those guys went there. Most look do with Carolina's a great robbery. There's tremendous town on the floor is, you know, more than a lot of people as a hard college basketball fan. But the story was I Williamson. I hope he's okay. I think he's going to be okay. This is not going to alter his career. But I'll tell you why the injuries annoying. It is become and maybe it's because it's February it is been blown up over the last twelve hours as the biggest injury in the history of sports among these folks, it's a mild knee sprain. Guys, get hurt. Kyri irving. Got her came back. My quarter got hurt came back. Yeah. And his story it happens. I think what led to the magnitude of it is how it happened. You had a hyped up game between Duke North Carolina would ticket prices through the roof. You mentioned luminaries that were there, including former president and also the way it happened. It was weird you buckles. Yeah. I mean, I've seen shoes fall off NBA players and fall off college basketball players and I've seen guys hit a three anyway in their socks we've seen that. That's normal. We've seen guys sprained their ankle. We've seen brutal injuries. Whether it's in college with Kevin ware. Whether it's in the NBA with Victor Oladipo or my guy Carris Liberte we've seen injuries. We've seen all of them. I gotta tell you, man. I've never seen a guy shoe. Explode, basically. And then guys need get hurt. Like, I've never seen that kind of injury before. So it was weird. So I think a lot of wood added to the magnitude of it is who he is when it occurred thirty seconds into the game out of the gate the atmosphere where it was taking place in all of that has led it to basically it being talked about like the biggest injury in the history of sports. He's going to be fine is going to be drafted by whoever wins the lottery, we're all bringing up the Bates that, you know, they're interesting debates to college that they should guys get paid guys play tomatoes nothing to do with this though signed Williamson wanted to go to college like you said, and he may have gone to college. Anyway, even if you didn't have to so it's a debate. That's always there. But it's being magnified by an injury that we're probably gonna find out. It's not that big of a deal and one note seven for these Williamson hater out there for a guy who says or gal who says he's game on translate at the next level. Look at the devils. When Zeile Williamson one off the four. I don't think I do know I do know interior president hold on a second. What do you mean? I'm gonna tell you why. Because I'm not Zayn Williamson hater by any stretch. And I'd probably take a number one overall in the draft. Okay. And I think he's going to be a really good NBA player. So that all out there. And a part of why I'm not convinced. He's going to be a franchise changer is kind of a compliment to him. He's very different. I've never seen a player like unique. He's very unique can develop a jump shot. Of course, he can. Of course, he he works his butt off at the next level. He could become a thirty eight percent three point shooter. It can happen. When you bring up guys in today's NBA who don't have jump shots like Yana Sonoko like Ben Simmons. They're different than this guy. He's just he six seven. He's not six ten with the wingspan of a pterodactyl Tara pterodactyl. The wingspan of a pterodactyl. I'm not convinced. He's going to be the defender in college. What he'll be in the NBA different bodies athletes. Most of the guys on the floor yesterday. In a Duke North Carolina game. We'll be what in the NBA RJ. Barrett will be good Cammarata. She'll be good. How many other guys on the floor are going to be starters? That stars starters in the NBA probably three to four who came radish. I just named him. He's his teammate RJ Barrett. Who would it be faced who would if he defended on a very good North Carolina team pan Johnson as a starter in the league potentially checked it as a second round pick could start. We players star. Jay, that's a that's a h I've watched him play. I think he's good that look if you think hey scouts are going to be wrong. He may be drafted in the second round. 'cause you are right. I want that's fine. The odds are that team a top college team is going to feature one maybe starter in the NBA. Is that what you're telling me? Okay. So how can you compare that to defending NBA bodies you go into the nets? Tonight. Hap- something came up. All right. I'll be so. Anyway, whatever if you watch the game that was game. It's part of the reason why I like college basketball. I don't love it. He'll be a so far superior talent wise, it's not it's not comparable. How could you compare? Well, look what happened to Duke yesterday. Once he was out of the game. It's college basketball. He's not defending NBA body. He's such an imposing figure for that team to say that he's not the most important player on Duke showed that well, that's basically implying I'm implying him at the next level. I'm not talking about him. And you take them off the four. They're totally different team is a different team. That's what I'm saying take Cy Williams saying that and put them in a different uniform. You're telling me that's not going to help the NBA the NBA. He's gonna be game changing play. That's what I'm not sure about that. Look, he's importance to do cannot be argued hacking argue that you the way you started. It was you saw the difference. He makes and that's why he's going to be great in the NBA. There's nothing to do with it. Do and the way he can't impose his will on a game in college. He will be able to have contact. I do that's fine. Last night doesn't prove anything about what he's going to do in the NBA though. That's my response to you, it proves his importance to Duke. Absolutely. Can they win a national championship without him? Be very very tough. I'm on. No, okay. Of course. I don't think that do quilting last night, especially defensively proves anything about what is it the NBA? I'm not convinced. He's going to be that kind of guy in the NBA because I don't know if physically he is going to be able to impose himself on NBA bodies. I put my money on. Yes. Feleti talent. Like that. I understand he's not Simmons. I understand. He's not Janas. He's a different type of different. But he's doing things on a basketball court that have to be honest never seen before. It's unique. It's different. And what the jury's out on whether or not he's going to be able to translate. I'm putting my money on Eddie. Well, that's why I think that point. That's why. Why I would never classify myself as a hater of the guy because with all of my concerns about him at the next level. I take them number one. I think he's going to be really good. But I think Blake Griffin's, really good. Would you say Zayn Williamson turns into a Blake Griffin like player he had what kind of career? Would that be a disappointment your Nick fan? You get Zayn Williamson. He becomes Blake Griffin. Blake Griffin's and all star caliber that. But some of them as this will. I think it's weird we Griffin I expected Moore's first couple years in the league. But if you want stay coming out of Oklahoma that he'd have what like three or four all star appearances. I don't have it in front of me. But if you tell me three or four all star appearances, I said, wow, that's pretty impressive. He's had a good career. But I think what you're taking number one overall and you come into the league with a lot of hype. It's not just about making a few all star games. It's about being a franchise player. Blake griffin's. Not a franchise player as good as he is. And we thought he might be the were gel the expectations of him coming in the NBA, Las golf. Yeah. Because what ended up happening with Blake Griffin. And he's a good players is a multiple all time all star is that he was a lot more sizzle than he was the actual stake. That's what I wonder about with Zion. Williamson. I think he's going to be very good at the next level. I don't know if he's going to be that franchise altering superstar in maybe a part of it. It is that he is so different. And sometimes you look at differences and say that's a sign that he's going to be great. But sometimes I look at it and say, I don't know who to compare him to think about that with him. I look at my watch him play. And I say who is he at the next level. I've heard Jodi maxi Charles Barkley. I don't know if I see that one. Remember the week is changed. I think the biggest thing is being able to work on that show who would become great players in this league or the super athletes they have evolved their game for Brian James as involved this game Janas with his jump shot now developing solely. But surely, he's evolved this graph to do that. We'll be there are guys. There are star players in this league. Who don't have a jump shot who don't hit the three point shot? Ben Simmons gets made fun of it all the time won't even attend. One Kumo is going to develop one it's slowly happening. Is there a guy in the NBA who is six seven does not have a jump shot who is a star player or a really good player. The answer to that is no. It does not there right now, Tim BA. And so I guess that's part of why a look at them. And I still we take them number one. See that's the thing. I always go back that I still take them. It's burying the guys. Like, I'm telling you. Lunches, not convinced. So let me ask you a question. Do you remember watching two guys? Kevin Durant in college. Yes, James harden in college, James Horne. I'm brought this up yesterday..
