"And physicality. I mean, it's not like he started. He came on just as like a quick cameo appearance, basically almost like just to get the record. But look, Harvey Elliott did it. Not that much older, right? He was only less than a year. Older than what an ordinary I'm not, I'm not talking about, you know, arsenal doing it or someone else doing it. I wonder if it's right period. I remember, was it Evan Ferguson? Came on for bohemians. At 14. In a preseason game against Frank lampert's Chelsea. Before locked before COVID. 14. I'd have to check that out. I think it was Evan Ferguson. That is. We talked about it with Freddie adieu. Once before on the show, I just don't know how that got like he might actually on the field have what it takes and can like, okay, maybe there's a physical element, although this guy looks older than 15. I was kind of surprised when they said, and here comes the 15 year old. I was like, what? That guy? But like, so on the field, he might have what it takes, but just like, how does that guy acclimate into a locker room of like 30 year olds and I mean, there are young guys on this arsenal team. So he can kind of sought all up to sako and Smith Rowe and guys like that. But even them, they're what 5 years older than him. Look, some players try in that and do very well from the start like Michael Lawrence brings to mind when Rooney springs to mind. They had very quite young debuts, but yeah, I wonder. I don't know the data on it and just the physical and psychological aspect of being thrown into that seems it seems a lot. But it was a good win for arsenal. They remain they remain hot right now. Very hot Andrew. And now they're getting contributions from new sources. Fabio Vieira came on and scored a great goal. His first goal for the club, wow, what a brilliant goal was from outside the box. So it continues to click. And you know, I wonder watching the all or nothing. Did it in any way like, did you watch anything in that and feel like, okay, this team is set up to succeed in this kind of way in the future. Like it ended so negatively, but like, did you feel like you could see kind of like the seedlings of something developing there? No, I'd be lying if I said I could. 'cause they didn't think defensively to be good enough. You know? So saliba coming back into the side was you have to put a lot of stock in that too. And also, of course. Yeah. Yeah, I suppose that's true. I suppose. But again, I don't want to be a revisionist now, Andrew Wednesday. Yeah, you could see it. You could see it. From the documentary, it felt like they had the right guy, though. In our chat to felt like they had the right guy. Let's see, Vinicius JJ, we have to talk about the ugliness that went on. Well, before we just finish at in England because there's been an appointment at Brighton to replace grandpa, Roberto de jerbi is coming Andrew. And there's a very good profile piece by Nick Ames and The Guardian about deserve. But we should listen to Graham soon as first who thinks this is a potential risk, risky signing. I think it's a risk. I have to selling is the rest bringing someone with his CV, the 7 jobs in 9 years. If you're an extending coach, then people want to belong to you. It's a bit like being a player. If you're a player, you know, 15 clubs, 12 cubs. I was telling a lot about seeing that people, you know, if they want to keep you they'll keep you because you're a really good player, a really good type of place. That's where I'm soon is there, not sure about deserve, offering the fact that he's had 7 clubs and 9 years. It should be noted that by the time Graham soonest took over black monroes in the year 2000, he had had 7 clubs and 9 years rangers, Liverpool, Galatasaray, Southampton, Torino Benfica, and then Blackburn Rovers with whom he lasted four years before he went to Newcastle United. I think Graham soon is somehow just has for a guy who played abroad and managed abroad seems to have a just a low opinion of the ability of foreign managers to come in and do a job in our league. But Nick aims in The Guardian did a really good piece on this therapy. He said, deserve his intense focus on being on the front foot was one of the reasons Brighton quickly made him their top choice to take the reins. And as he explained, the level of research he has conducted into a team he acknowledges play with a very clear style. It was clear he detected an appealing fit. James Horan castle was talking about this on a podcast this week and he said deserve likes to draw the opposition onto his sides, then play through them, but extremely elaborate passing. Who he did an excellent job in Italy with defending set players and crosses was also an issue, especially with too many green and black shirts called ahead of the ball. That's all in contrast to the organized lines in place of Brighton over the past year or so. At the time Desjardins takes over his head coach, the seagulls have the best defensive record in the Premier League. So that's kind of, I mean, he's taken oversight that aren't in crisis. It's one of those rare ones. Yeah. So he basically has to steward this thing and of course he wants to play his style of play, but there's also going to be an element of the fan base that's kind of like, no, no, no, just keep this train on the tracks. Hey, you know how this train works? Just keep it going the way it's going. And that day, the I suppose initially he's going to want to stamp it, well, maybe he won't want to stamp his name on it. Maybe he will come in and say, less is more. But yeah, brightener in a position where they've got one of the big brains from Italian football, a guy who's his style of players kind of, I would say maybe a little bit revolutionary. Inviting teams on and then playing through them. And again, it's not that radically different from

"That simply is not winning basketball. Lebron has had help right. he's very dominant but he also gives the teammates. He knows how to pace himself right. So luga needs to be less ball dominant slash pace himself. Better right in. That will help playoff the ball. More cutting and posting up in gangster position right moving without the ball again. He needs to be less baldassare right. I know he's really good iso situations i know he's not level player but it's to save himself in the pace himself the offense so he can play well whenever you need him to play right. And this is the problem. With what james horan hat in houston right not being able to save his legs and gain the playoffs where you know. He had too much of a high usage rate and resulted inaugurated. Thanks for right. So being less ball dominance is going to help lucas game a lot to rights important point to bring up in. That's an important thing for him to work. The last thing i want to say is three point yes. Lucas dodds Improved a lot in three points over the last couple of years but he's only a career thirty three percent three point shooter now the playoffs. She's thirty nine percent is in it so tells ya. The guy is a good shooter and you saw the way shannon olympics. The guy could shoot the ball well right takes contesting shots to which does contribute to a lower percentage because generally contested shots Lower percentage right ultimately. He has to be better three point. Line you continue to work on that. Because he has the ability get shot anytime he wants. He continues to work on that aspect of his game. Continues to drill that in and pair that with free throw shooting. He'll be unstoppable. Already is but he'll be in a more unstoppable and is gonna be very little things that he can do Defense.

"Go be free. You drink will be free. Yeah and yet. He concluded yesterday. He said you know he talks a lot. But you can condemn me for being a cockeyed optimist. But he said. I still think there's a pony in there somewhere. I'm like opponent there. That's that's jerry speak. That's arkansas in there right there. I still got a super bowl. And there's and. I'm clean to the belief that it's still in there somewhere by the low. I always remain fascinated by jerry jones every single time guys. Yes it is football season. But how about this lakers update on their reportedly looking upgrade their roster with a veteran point guard and one name that has come up internally. Is russell westbrook. The purple and gold would need to work a sign and trade to acquire the la native and former mvp from washington and the team explored if a deal centered around schreuder cow and teach teeth would do the trick so shannon. Westbrook work with braun eighty. What do you make of eschenbach. Westbrook is still playing at a very high level. I believe there a better fit for what the lakers me now. I don't believe these guys are better. Lonzo ball mike conley. Coury malcolm brogden. I don't believe these guys. Abetted bin russ as the individual player. But in the team chris paul would be a better fit. I'm not saying. I wouldn't good and three years but i believe next year chris paul would be a better fit. Then russ i agree. That's just where i am. I the la native. Roth plays hard. But ross can only play his way remember. He wanted out of houston he says. I gotta get back to playing worth. Well he's going to like james. Hart james horan played a particular way in houston but he got with two other superstars. As says you know. I can no longer play that way. He bought into a system to question could worse by into a system. Or it's worth the system. Yep that's that's my only point. I think he's a phenomenal. He plays hard. He doesn't short shortchanging he might be the two hardest players on a nightly basis. And you'll find in the nba. But for what the lakers need. Give people like shooting shooting. I don't know if anybody knows this. But i'm going to break it to you. Do realize the last two teams that won the championship didn't suit the three very whale. The lakers in the mobile and the books waffle. So there's no no no no no you got size and you can dominate. The boards with the lakers dominated heat with both dominated the sword. Guess what you win so everybody this notion about. You need three point shots and what. At some point time you're going to have to shoot some threes scale. Rose shot thirty one percent roseanne. His career the thirty one percent. Three point shooter. Yeah he's thirty. One point five last point thought always career. He's got his career at thirty one point. Five leisure give i. I don't get this. I really don't like i said i like russ i think he put nominal talent. But i don't think he's the right person in this situation for the lakers. Okay i want everybody out there in viewer. Land to try to grasp this concept. I agree with every word you just spoke but think about this. We're talking about a first ballot hall of fame russell. Westbrook who is thirty. Two years of age and next year will be year fourteen. But he's he's not playing old at all right. We're talking about a man who once again last year for washington averaged a triple double twenty to twelve and twelve. We're talking about a man who's twelve assists game last year led the nba. We're talking about a man who three of the last four years has led the nba in assists that man russell westbrook lock first ballot hall of fame. Right is a bad fit for lebron james david and he just did because i think on solid ground saying there's never been any player like russell westbrook. You brought up jaanus. He's a miniature janas effort except there's one big difference ever. His effort is only on offense. Says effort is full. Court both ways both sides of the ball as hard as he can play offense and defense every lash dribble russell. Westbrook plays all out with a rage. Hard on offense. He has a rage to star more than to win to me and oftentimes he manages to sacrifice winning the basketball game forgetting his stats and he is the all time step machine. I mean for the last five seasons. He's averaged a triple doubles. We've possible rebounds got put him in a lack top five top seven as far rebound and even oregon okay. He's a point guard and yet he would be terrible to me for lebron james who is still the best passer. Run basketball russell. Westbrook has figured out how to get his big men involved where he drives it and if he doesn't think he can get to the foul line or get to the rim. He'll just leave it on the floor for a big man to take one ounce with in dunk right so he realized if i do that enough i can average. Oh i can lead the nba and assists. But i never feel like russ is running the offense quarterbacking the show giddy. Everybody the perfect shot at the perfect moment right. It doesn't feel chris polish to me at all. It doesn't feel lebron at all. Because lebron has genius about i gotta get him a shot at this point at this stage of the game. We're going to hit call. Kuzma right. In the shooting pocket with the perfect skip. Pass all the way across court. I'm gonna hit him right there so he can just sit and fire and make that through. That's lebron's genius. He has great vision in anticipation. This is all hard for russ has to force the assists and he forces the rebounds. And you you can't tell me that. The rebounds hurt their team because they don't write but a lot of times he's taken rebounds away from biggs because he just out to the basketball right and he wants free throw rebounds which sometimes they're a little cheap right so the point is he's he's a bad fit because he's not a point guard he he's a score and he has led the league in scoring twice. He led the league in scoring twice but he can't shoot. Let's kinda yana slide right well. He can't shoot because he's always been terrible. Three point shooter. He's still at least janas doesn't take that many us you blasting when he takes any anything anything over one too many okay. Anything over zero to or russ is up there in the middle of the pack and taking threes. But your point last year he averaged a triple double and shot thirty two percent from three that that ranked one hundred fiftieth of one hundred and fifty. Six hundred fifty. Well that's a liability to me. Then his free throws have come and gone. And he's he's up there around mid seventies career but last year. He shot sixty six percent from the free. Throw line. well that won't work if you're the point guard getting to the line so many times ranked one hundred and third of one hundred ten free throw shoes so look at this. Three point and free throw shooting is at the bottom of the barrel in both categories which undercuts the team's ability to win which is why the team last year. They rallied late and they finished thirty four and thirty eight and thirty four so there are four games under five hundred in the first round. They did they had to win the second plane game. Remember against Indy right right and yet philly knocked him out in five games in the philly. Five game series rush shot thirty three percent from the floor from the floor. Well that's just shot sixty two percent from the floor right. Yeah okay so it won't work. And he also averaged four turnovers and he led the league in turnovers repeatedly. Because he's going to be high risk high turnover. You and i say we're not saying that isn't a great player. Now i give in. He's a first ballot.

"We did the running backs list we had zeke was seven. And we're like yeah definitely not higher than seven. And then we're doing a wide receivers list and amari is like not even in the honorable mention category. So the question. I want to ask theaters are we. Are we overvaluing the cowboys weapons because we know the defense like hopes to just be average but the reason they are projected to be the best team in the division. It's like that offense should be overpowering but it looks like they've got around league average for a number one receiver. They've got a good but no longer great running back like the offensive line isn't what it once was due to know so like so. So are we overvaluing the cowboys offense. That's my question new brandon absolutely not. I'm not. I'm sure off. Zeke focus getting in shape. Don't be like james horan. Don't know what's happening in. The texas was going on in texas. Houston dallas with these big bellies. Zeke edit big belly. Last year dave's going through his situation. He had a big belly lose the big belly. There's no reason why he we don't need fifteen hundred yards from zeke. You don't need that all you need to do is get me four yards a carry zeke. I don't need any laws yardage. Don't do that to us. Don't put us behind the mistakes if you do that. Then we will pick up where we left off last year and leaving the turnovers because last year before that went down they were averaging four hundred ninety seven yards and offense per game they were the most explosive offense there with the banged up off into line. So now you have. I'm so glad you brought him up. Amari cooper we will talk about sweet rouse and playmaking ability to do next level now. Once that went down there was times where i was like man i can see him emotionally trying to stay trump fighting to stay in it. It was hard for him but he's still a dog. Don't get it twisted. And then you have a cd. Lamb cd lamb this. Do they have them in a slot. Right now obviously can play outside. This dude is different. He a huge impact on offense last year at as a rookie and didn't gallup. They have three number one wide receivers that can get it done. And that prescott is entering into his prime. So i'm not trying to get don't want not getting on the dallas cowboys hype train on not doing that right. We talked about him every single year. What if that defense is decent and dak. Prescott comes in and delivers. This could be your moment to actually have a good take about the dallas house but it does. It sounds to me at deck to the list of quarterbacks with way more weapons than mahomes. I don't see how patrick gets done. Dax out three number one receiver. Jeff against him getting guys. You can't door nba finals game tomorrow night and the series all tied to win you start who wins game. Five bucks or son is take your pick. We got about a minute left. Let's do this friday in. its own. bob. I'm going with the sons baby which ask me who you know go we. Let's go okay. It is friday over the series nut over. I've got two sons by eleven. Janas still has a big game but i don't think pat college and has a big game. I think middleton also comes down to earth so sons by eleven. Let's go listen. I can't believe brain and still doing song when the sons have not viewed that terrible song. But i've got good news or suns fans i before the series picked every single one of these games. I'm four sons wing. five is still alive..

"Prison so yeah here. I was enjoying a hobby was born over here vision. Here's a do not to come off like charles barkley. I want to validate how the evid basketball fan fields right. Nick you talked about it when we opened up the show like manage brutal seeing you on his go down. It was brutal seeing k. d. James horan lebron james and so on and so forth it's brutal. We have the biggest names in sports. That biggest names basketball going down at the worst times so i get that but at the end of the day. This is what it is. Okay you got. It is what it is like. This is part of sports is the war of attrition. now some sports are more brutal than others like football more volatile than basketball but at the end of the day. We see this all the time. So no we're not going to have an asterik next to the bucks or or anyone. Whoever they win it this year because of all the you know the injuries let me ask you guys a question. Are we going to put a asterik next to tampa bay the temporary tampa bay buccaneers and tom brady led look at your when they played against. What right you will enjoy that. That washington okay. The washington football team. They played with their backup quarterback. Alex smith was down and they were just beat up another position. Thomas davis their linebacker was down. Then you go to the packers. They're tackle bought are he was out and they also had some other key injuries. And then in the super bowl the chiefs offense wind. Just totally depleted anna. Gobble patrick mahomes. So are we going to put asterik next the bucks in near run absolutely not. This is part of the game. Nick so i was ready to say. There are no asterisks but by fixing won this year's nba champion we can retroactively affixed one of the tampa bay buccaneers. I can be swayed. So i'm gonna let me let that marinate for a moment but we are this near a beer an avid basketball fan. You are going to remember that. This was a unique postseason just like by the way. Last year's was a unique postseason. No home games. No road games the stoppage in the season that makes it set apart from history and while injuries are a part of every postseason the they're never been more than six all stars. Miss a game in a postseason if janas misses a game which he obviously will. It's now going to be up to eleven. It is easier to count the number of guys who made the all star team and the play offs. Who didn't miss a game. Then the guys who did like k. D. was one of the only like top level players in the league who was healthy throughout the whole thing. Lebron didn't miss a game but he was obviously hobbled and you'd luca didn't miss a game even though he got banged done and paul. George hasn't missed time but basically the rest of your top twelve us. I guess throw damon there as well all miss time. Yeah and then even if you go. Further than that. The next kind of like secondary and tertiary all stars. You're seeing guys like mike conley donovan. Mitchell miss time so that does make this year stand out but there is no astra's wild and anyone arguing that all now people are going to say this championship in history. A day doesn't count. I'm going to remind them of something that they have. I'm sure forgotten about the nineteen eighty-seven nfl season. Washington won the super bowl. They beat the broncos by million in the super bowl. does the audience. If you're watching this show your big sportsman. Why am i bringing that up. I was three. Because that was the there but i know i was three as well. Here's literally cab. Players love weeks four four five and six. The players were on strike. They played the kept the season going. And you had scabs by the way. Don't cross picket lines. America unions built this country but doesn't matter. There were scab players like no. Let's just keep it going. Does anyone go back and be like joe. Gibbs you have two and a half super bowls right. They don't so wild. If that didn't get an asterisk then then this is not going to in the me in the real time we're going to say. Oh the nets probably could have won the title. The lakers probably go to won the title. But whoever wins the title wins the title. And i think the ring shines just as rightly. Okay oh you disagree. I don't know if yeah. I disagree because i think when you are you love a few things right. You love that burberry jacket and you love sort of listing nba histories and sort of ranking things. Right yeah if the if the bucks win okay. The bucks were kind of. Do they've been on the precipice for two years. And we'll see how janas plays out but they've got another all star and they built that team if the clippers win. Aw tai lue gets a second. Oh what if the sun's win. Well let's ep three. it's the reassert. Its emergence of devon booker to a super superstar and one hundred eight and comes out. What if the hawks win. What if a five seed wins never gets home court advantage and kind of like kevin herders their way to a championship. And there's a point where you've got like lou williams. God bless him holding the finals. Mvp trophy you're going to be like it's on address but when you do your lists. That team is going to be dead last. So if you wanted to an well to assure but you're going to look at it in some kind of way so. Let me respond to that quickly. Roads you brain and so there's there's two things one is. There's a difference between an astra scanned if we were to say the last thirty years of nba history. Who's the best champion. And who's the worst champion. Somebody's gotta come in worse. This the nicole yokich. Mvp argument. I made you. There's gotta be a worst. Mvp that even if it's is still an all time great player but the i think that even if the hawks win the title brandon i think how this season and this championship has looked at is actually going to be determined by what the hawks to over the next few years. I think people initially brandon in old four win. The pistons beat the lakers favor. Like all what a fluke. All the lakers forwards were hurt shacking hated each other. That's the worst to win the title but then when the pistons made the conference finals the next four years made another. Nba finals made it to game. Seven of those like. Oh cianci's piston right. That's a really good team. So the hawks win and there are fifty five win team next year and back in the conference finals. I think that will change the perspective. People have on this year's title if they do get it. Well that's the problem like one hundred percent. The hawks are the biggest beneficiaries when it comes to the situation this year. But we get this team wrong.

"From right. I think you've gotta look at bruce brown the contribution teammate. And be really happy with it. Bruce brown is basically six four center the way he plays on this team. He doesn't shoot. Three's not really good shooter. But he's growing around the basket making hustle plays for you making plays. That other guys won't make you know that the dirty work glue guy work. He's a big positive outcome because what he did for. This team provide that that energy that they needed in times where they were maybe slow on the offensive end or not. Getting shots struggling. He was able to get the job done regardless. And that's that's really cool breakdown for this. Team's bruce brown is a key piece. That really helped him right very key. Piece that really made them help. That really helped them out right. And and your role players step up obviously right in for him right. He's a guy that was a guy that when they need to play big he did right. He's not going to score twenty five points every night or anything like that he might get fifteen bites the energy from rebounding defense gang steals loose balls. He provided that energy cutting off ball and gang little shots around the rim. The energy. The impact that he brought to this team was a big reason why they were so successful. Yes they had their big three yes. They had their stars but he was a big reason that the stars have their responsibilities. Do we need a guy that can be like glue guy. That's gonna make those key place at the end of game right. It's interesting though is it. It's a very interesting thing to look at said to. It's an interesting kind of situation. Obviously to say hey you know. You look at the positive role player. The role player brought major positively to this team. He did he did. So bruce big positive. I think the second thing you guys like. I said the regular season you finish the second in the eastern conference despite your big thrill playing eight games together so that you give some confidence that you can be good in the following season. The yes i like. I said it was a failure to achieve chance ship goals but there are some successes like the fact that that this team still rallied behind. Even that join. James horan the lineup. Early kevin durant or they're like they were able to win games despite the of all the turmoil and the and the issues with terms of guys not being air just a personal leave or injuries and all that stuff right and low management. Is this an interesting thing. Look at obviously right that. That's a big factor. And then i think the thing is you get you say like kevin durant is still in the prime career and still playing even better level. Maybe before the always injury because there was a question about right. Obviously a torn achilles Ninety eight percent of the guys. Don't come back the same. They don't look at Demarcus cousins look at wesley matthews right. Donald wilkins wasn't this Anomaly but kevin durant looks exactly the same exactly the same and that's a credit to his work ethic. That's a credit his discipline as a craft to him wanting to be graham wanting to do everything possible to win games and game self positioned to be the best player of the week again or be considered that that's not a It's not easy time because that's a lie treatment. That's a lot of internal motivation and confidence of law ties. People struggle with i mean. Look at ben. Simmons you struggle with his confidence right when you're going through his injuries stuff right. That's what you're always washing. Klay thompson the speed recovery. And hoping he does well because acl keighley's tough vendors acl. most guys come back now. Okay where can come back. Ok achilles not many. And because the way basketball's playoff just such a fragile tenant requires so much in your burst in your exposure it's impaired you're not going to be as successful but kevin durant proved all and he proved that might even better than he wasn't golden state and the games that he put together in the playoffs for just unbelievable what he did unreal unbelievable..

Donald wilkins Klay thompson bruce brown Bruce brown kevin durant twenty five points eight games Ninety eight percent James horan second Demarcus Three six ben. second thing Simmons fifteen bites four center Early kevin durant acl keighley

"Go ahead wild earlier. This when brandon was at his facility he added visitor come in and he was shouting off to someone on the distance. Yes tell the chef to get my friends and food. So i thought it was gonna go that way. We're not said. I thought somebody who did you call. That's just a random person. Wouldn't courtside seats. You should be proud of you. Said no i save albert. I'll give them to the migo. Please cyber wearing a wonderful. Start with the weird. Hey this is the second triple play the yankees pulled off this year. is that a normal triple. Nope just another example of terrible based running this guys in the middle shortstop you. Someone should be safe here. At least one person should be a awful play. I'm gonna call the yankees highlight. Because i'm in optimistic mood for friday but overall is a terrible terrible blake polo blue jays. Moving onto the wonderful. Hey you. I don't like the shift but manny machado is out there and right meal somebody else. Oh hey sorry chef. You're like you great way. My manny machado. I don't know how you draw this off. The you're keeping score. Grandfather problem is. He passed away anyways back. We're raised man vs randy rose arena throws his bat. This bitch way outside the base it. Hey it's a good. It's a good job so great job rainy reason. That's the weird. And the wonderful national pastime. Take you up. Take down to roller coaster. When i'm hosting back talking the honest legacy behind the line tomorrow night game. Seven head to brooklyn next. This is first things first wild migrant. Welcome back thanks for joining us back talking nets box janas milwaukee dominate last night. Game six greek freak attack the rim finished with thirty points seventeen rebounds led from start to finish to win and force a game. Seven tomorrow night in brooklyn nick. What do you think's on the line for you honest tomorrow. Not much just everything. Just as coach's job of the front office guys and how. He's looked at as a player. And i want to talk about iana says a player here because it is we've sometimes swing the pendulum to far and after game five swung too far against and it speaks to how good he is that last night he had thirty points and seventeen rebounds in a must win game on sixty percent shooting and i don't think anyone thinks he played great thing like. Oh yeah you play very well. Played pretty good. He had thirty and seventeen in the biggest risk. And we're like. Yeah that's about what we thought he would do. But he wasn't a signature moment. A but here is what jaanus can gain with the victory on saturday. Because you look at the east philly is down in the series limping literally and metaphorically and with respect to the hawks. I don't think anybody thinks. The hawks can match up with milwaukee size and now west. Who knows what the hell's going to happen is done for the year. Is he going to be back in a couple of days. Is utah gonna win. What's going on with chris. Paul uncovered protocol milwaukee. If they win. Saturday i you could. Credibly say become the favorites to win the championship and wilds. There are a lot of great players. Who in route to their first championship. Their toughest test was not the championship for michael. It was detroit. They beat them a bunch of times and then finally dispatched them. And then the finals was a walkover against portland for shacking kobe. It was portland. It was that seven game war against portland. For their first title and then it was a walkover in the finals for lebron. It wasn't the thunder who the beaten five. It was boston who they were down. Three two against and lebron played the finest game of his career. And then a damn good game seven so for jaanus if you if you win saturday and it's like oh you beat the defending eastern conference champion annihilated. Jill last year in around one year then took katie's best shot harden came back and you beat them in around two. maybe you play embiid. Maybe you play trae. Young around three eighty s. There is all of that there for the taking and brandon. If they lose. He's going to be on almost assuredly another new head coach they're going to try to re tweak the roster and they're gonna say we hope next year is different so everything's on the line for him. Yeah but i'll be honest with you. Nick them moving for them. Advancing for me won't be respected. I mean you saw wah who they were and games one in games two when when when the nets worse semi loaded. They didn't have. James harden. James horan played forty set in this series before. He came back when he wasn't supposed to and they got ran off the court. So when you look at that. I can't respect it and unless we get the hawks wrong then i can't even respect that. The hawks are playing great ball. Know nobody pick the hawks to be a contender this year. So go on. These beat the hawks. And then you got the you got philly philly ben. Simmons and two buys averaging five points in the last couple of days. I can't respect it. Now here's the deal. What's on the line. The narrative the narrative two years ago that you could potentially be the best player also like you said the coach being fired. That's a big deal. That's tough as a player when you play. And then all of a sudden you see guys being fired and in packing up their stuff literally pack up their stuff and walk out the building and you can look at us they you know what maybe if i caught that ball or maybe if i had a couple of extra rebounds still be here so the big deal. You're honest don't wanna carry de throughout his career knowing that but is a guy that stood on the table for them. They have a great relationship and he may be fired. Because of your plate you in developed quick on quick eating quickly enough to help your team contend for a championship because that's what it is and also the last thing. Wiles is the fear factor. I don't know if guys fair them anymore. I don't know if anybody fares him. You know like we know what you are one trick pony nets it so you know. There's there's some things that lose. I don't think it'll be respected. If they advance yeah. I know people definitely fear the deer but it is a good point. I don't know if they fear janas roll off the tongue. I think nick his legacy is on the line. Because you can either be tagged with the winner hat if you wear the winter hat all your flaws. Kind of go away. Like he's a winner though. He's a winner. Old tim tibo. He gets the job done. He's a winner. What he can't do this this doesn't matter. The guy's a winner janas hasn't been able to wear that hat and until you wear the winner hat or the winner. Crown memory have a little imaginary winter crown. All of your flaws are prominently on display the lack about shooting the fact that you can't go home at the end of the game the fact that you don't really have a post game the fact that you can't shoot free throws the fact that you're on the free throw line for.

"Harden. Tonight wow i think i'm gonna say under slightly. But if he gives you sixteen and eleven assists and a great floor game like he did in game one for the most or the previous game for the most part. Then i'll take that He the the problem is our his legs there. And the thing does jumpers. You could see and they were short and that speaks to. The legs are obviously a part of the jump. Shot so he can handle. He can shake and get room but he clearly didn't want to drive and he settled for the three point shot but it was a little short on it. I do think he'll play better. Wilde's i think he's capable of going for more than twenty and he might surprise all of us but i'd say something like sixteen tin will be a great night for james and i agree with both of you guys john but nick. This is why people think a lot of people around the league are beginning to think. He's the second guy because even as you just said. He had the signature moment. Guess what four. Five games in this series. He's going for more than thirty points and eleven rebounds in every game. I believe at least so he is. You can pick man. He's gonna have thirty something tonight. Okay he's gonna have eleven fifteen rebounds if not more but you are also is not a monster performance. That's just what he does and the problem is you can't shoot and you don't. You're not a great post player. I need you to be one or the other in today's game we'd love you to be had to shoot the jumper but if you can't then you better be able to punish people on the block is a sore hamstring and half the foot shorter than you. So that's the problem with. John is why he hasn't had this signature performance. We'll with the thing. Let's figure that out after this series when an offseason so listen let yawn figured out later. I want to go back to the throughout while spice it up a little bit. Let's put it. Let's put something on the line. I got james harden going for more than eighteen. so i'll take the over. Listen here's the deal as a player when you come back from injury before you should write and you go out there and play james play. That is a fill out gained for yourself and your body. You don't know what you're capable of doing. So he was out during a defense aside. Can i cut off this guy. Can i get around this pick. What can i do on offense. Aside cannot dribble penetrate cannot do my little step back three now. He knows exactly who he is. When with his body food and away it does today relentless. A book wrote written by tim grover years ago all time. Great trainer michael jordan. Kobe bryant dwayne way in so many other guys. Nba and nfl. One of the things he talks about in his book was the wayne way. Dwayne wade had this brutal knee injury. And they were in the play offs. He flew down there and what they worked on. That was dwayne. Wade's but it was. How can the wayne ways. They'll play at a high level dealing with something in the way was able to go out there and dropped thirty and get his team to the finals. Nobody knew what was going on between the way besides the team in d. way and tim grover so now you got james harden in the same situation. I know i'm talking big talk with the books and all this other stuff as they went me here. All i'm saying is james. Horan knows who he is with his body filling away. Does i expect him to come out and have a monster game game may not be thirty points but it could be from six from three would sure but the thing go and leave it on this that i hope for nets fans understands is while you could've treated game five like a must win game six is not and with durant having played forty eight and durant playing forty plus minutes every game except for the game to blow out harden fresh off the injury playing forty six. I do think. Nash needs to be cautious with the minutes tonight. Because you want to have all your bullets in the chamber. Four game seven. Oh listen i i i. I'm telling brandon that we saw this. I know it's plumbing. Less minutes is what you do in the play offs. A lot of times go going. Forty eight like durant did had not been done a long lebron twenty eighteen in game seven against the celtics three everywhere. Katie careful with look looked amazing. Perfect reggie miller said this check is in the mail nick hayes. Stick around for star. Paul george fruits last carry the clips without kawhi next percents reggie said tonight. On f s one. The biggest soccer tournament of the year continues with group stage. Play brazil chile The action packed tournament keeps rolling tonight at eight eastern on fs one fox sports at starting morning sponsored by ram trucks built to serve same lineup situation games that we saw in game five. No kyrie irving. But james harden will be available. Might take another perfect game from katie dispose the buffs out tonight. Here was steve nash. Yesterday on katie's game five. I was just really proud of it. You know. I know any puts on the line every night. And and his work ethic and his routine and you know the the committee gave to that recap of a career threatening injury and to be back all the way back and having maybe his best playoff performance ever is is incredible and so i was just really proud of him. Happy for him. Ungrateful brand new. Dear nets need another epic game from k. d. to beat the box. Yes we do absolutely a minute. We're going to be asking star tomorrow off the bench. And maybe even steve nash to be a players coach he is suited up. He can suit up and come help us out. Katie goes down I mean sorry. James aren goes down. He's back in there but he only gave us five points and then also carry obviously dealing with a hamstring. But here's the deal you know. k d. is more than capable of a drop in forty again. But you need joe hairs to step up. Nineteen missed threes. His last twenty three tips. That's a problem. The last game. I just edit tweeting storm. Joe joe joe joe come on joe like man.

michael jordan tim grover sixteen Nineteen dwayne James five points John Katie Dwayne wade thirty forty plus minutes Wade reggie Five games Nash forty thirty points d. way katie

"If chris paul is to miss significant time obviously it doesn't end the sun's chances but it hurts them drastically and for a guy who is the closest. He's ever been to an nba finals with the exception of two thousand eighteen. Win as his team went up three two on the warriors he pulled his hamstring never to play again that season. They lost the next two if he misses out on his chance in the finals. Because he and. I don't know why he has to health and safety protocols i i know. He climbed up and then the crowd his family. I i don't know what the circumstances are. It would be one of the most cruel twists of what has been an impossibly difficult season for everybody now in reading shamsur reporting. It does say there is concerned brandon. He could miss the start of this series and it says if he's been vaccinated then his his time away is much shorter than otherwise so a lot of this is unknown. We also don't even when the western finals are going to start because we don't know jazz. Clippers is going to go six or it's gonna go seven so hopefully mrs no time. But if he does miss time brandon all of a sudden. The sons go from to me. The favorites in the series to decided underdogs against either of those opponents agree. I mean this is absolutely brutal soon as that broke. What last block at the bottom. We had no clue that that was going to pop up on our show. You know we all say oh man right because this is a guy who has dealt with so much Adversity in the playoffs. You talked about his hamstring. Remember go back a little bit more. His wrist than there was other moments where he start cramping up and games when when his team was playing phenomenal. He was playing phenomenal. This is a dude this year that we were all rooting for look what he did last year. Okay see look what he did this year in the short time. Going over to the sons and re-energizing revitalizing this this organization. They haven't been in the playoffs and ten years so this is. This is devastating for him. His family his his team. Because if you're play your family for instance they're carrying his weight to. They know how bad he wants it on the court. You gotta go back to the first series. Like what are we going to see. What are we going to get against the lakers. The second the second game nine minutes one thousand nine hundred seconds on the clock in the second quarter he goes down with the shoulder and everything. Totally flip now. They were up to go but they found themselves in a back. Your fight in a in a fight in the alley. That's what they that's what they found themselves in and he was able to fight door but he was never the same until what oh six game and he looked decent game six so you may see that. Yeah i mean they have a chance. You got guys on that team. Eight and bridges booker. That can step step up in a gopher twenty twenty five points defensively. They played together. They play for the most bows most complete team. But it definitely hurts. Chances of thousand percent and wild. Go wild when i was just gonna say is. He's coming off the best series he's ever played. He's coming off a series where he's twenty five five and ten on sixty to seventy five one hundred split with more steals than turnovers. He was and he was about to get some rest now. I get rest. But he's coming off the best he's ever played in his career. So i want to say two things and they're a little bit awkward to juxtapose but i'll try first and foremost bath. Everybody we hope that. Chris paul and his family are okay. Healthwise right obviously if you're vaccinated this disease is for less consequential. But if you're not it's still can beat terrible. So first and foremost we will chris. Paul is okay now. Here's the awkward. Turn on talk basketball. This is an opportunity of chris. Paul does miss games. Nick for devon booker's star to shine even brighter and we just saw k d do it last night. And everyone's been talking about devon booker's kind of ben this little hidden gem didn't get a lot of national games and now he is emerging. What do you think devon booker. Ceiling is out chris. Paul playing if he does miss early games. Well the thing is this. I think it's interesting. Juxtaposing it with harden last night like we saw about hard on offense just him being out there on the oftens of side of the ball even though he couldn't hit a shot was helpful for the nets functioning. Chris paul you saw when brandon in the lakers series. When for a couple of those games he couldn't lift his arm above his his arm above shoulder. he's still was useful in giving them in the right spots settling down getting them good possessions. I think booker run is on that. I think that just wrote. I think that this news was chris. Paul reaggravated shoulder injury and is worried. About how effective he was gonna be so different than if he can't physically be out there and i didn't just quickly echo wild's point of course we don't of course. We wish the best for christmas family. And also we don't know if this is a positive test if it's just exposure we don't have any of the details. The back that shams is reporting their concern is that he could miss the beginning of the series. Leads me to believe that they are not concerned. This is going to be a multi week ordeal but the margins are so thin brandon have home court if they play the clippers. And it'd be a lose wanted home because chris. Paul is out there that that's enough to sometimes flip a series. And you don't know what you're going to get from the clippers. The way. Paul george is playing. You may not be able to drop down a one zero two and have a chance to come back. So this is devastating. Like we've already said. Here's the deal. I it's it's almost like what we're seeing in brooklyn right. Now with james harden james horan going out there and playing the minutes he played. He didn't impact this that she in a major way. You only had five points but his presence. The salad relieve he gave everyone in. That locker room was huge. I truly believe is one of the reasons why they won that game. It took pressure off a k. D. like katie was eight didn't have to bring the ball at the court time you didn't know if he was going to hit at three of those those shots we're going to start falling. You had no clue so gate. Wanna be a chance to pause and take a deep breath. You go back to the first series against the lakers. The shoulder goes out. He still showed up. He's still was sitting on sideline. He's still he's still is therefore tip off and not help the team. Exactly what you're saying helping booker. So now we're talking about him potentially missing a game or two. We don't know what type of team we're gonna get because that is their general. That's like peyton manning that being there. That's like tom brady. Patrick mahomes not being there..

Patrick mahomes Paul Chris paul ten brooklyn chris paul sixty chris tom brady last year james harden Paul george five points one thousand katie peyton second game first series ten years christmas

"James horan gets more rest. Jrue holiday goes down. Great move bad defense. Whatever combination a muddled last possession and that then there forty eight minutes from going up three one being too. I thought milwaukee played so much better in game for thought they were awful in game three in still one. But i've got. They were great in game four. I thought they played smarten sound and i think we can forget how good they are. So this isn't like kevin durant trying to with good complementary players. Be just a a pretty good team. Milwaukee's a terrific team and so hard being back. I had no doubts. I i thought he was assuredly gonna play. But then when i saw yesterday was out i was frankly shocked i thought he was gonna play and it remains to be seen whether dutt if he does or not but know it just gives them a weapon gives them a weapon and they switched on much defensively that he he won't have to move around like conventional defense. You also come to get worried about durant like now the load if he doesn't play in irving's out now you're talking about the low just increases you. Their entire offense was kevin durant and this is a guy who's coming off injuries serious injuries and i don't know how much you want to load him up. But you made a great point well to great place number one milwaukee. Their offense has been a horrible the whole series game. Three was just i. I mean you called it a rock fight. I think someone called the dirac fight. And i said i got into rock fights as a kid like we would throw rocks at each other. They were more exciting and more appealing to watch than that game. That game that to call that iraq flight was disrespectful to good high-quality rock. flights Do have to credit milwaukee under bud offense hit or miss. The defense has been really the bedrock of their team. And they have not led the offensive swamps into the stuck in the mud impacter defense. They have leaned on their defense to get back into the series and i think they deserve credit for that. The second thing you mentioned and this is why it's so tough we're all scarred by the durant achilles tear in the finals right. Wendy will your only is it. Defining storyline of the finals in he does and it goes horribly. We're all scarred by that. The warriors are scarred by that we all we all learned and were were sort of chastened by that but you just pointed out like first of all heart and has been i think essentially not calling the shots but the nets have been differential to harden. They trust him to know his body. They trust him when he says. Hey i don't know what the medical test show. But i don't feel right. They trust him. But i think he's thirty one. This is a golden opportunity for him. Embiid is twenty-seven right like you're not guaranteed all these chances so i'm sort of sympathetic to players who i wouldn't want to be the health official who says sometimes i guess it's cut and dry right the imaging show something you just can't play but i don't think these are just easy black-and-white decisions particularly with players say this is this is one of my latte. What am i last. But you're not guaranteed anything in the nba. Not guaranteed to get back here ever again. No i think the longer you're in it like harden Remember back when oklahoma city durant west for harden. Clay miami they lose and everybody says they'll be back and they never were and it always makes you when you're in it. You realize just how fleeting opportunities are and i think harden has been so very durable that when he is injured you know. There's no doubt he doesn't feel right again if i think they're going to play a great game tonight with or without hard. I think they're you know the problem with these games where you're down. A couple of really good players is just like milwaukee had emotional jolt to start game three. I have no doubt brooklyn will start like with this powerful emotion. It's just the ability to sustain it for forty eight minutes and going back to what you just talked about. Milwaukee like their defense. Everybody's sort of mentioning this buds on the hot seat buds. This but really like is anybody watching. What would you do better than what my bruton holder has done with. Milwaukee like like when they went up to oh against toronto right like they lost. They lost to the champion right I don't understand i. Everybody wants to win. But if i always marvel at this everybody says we want to be san antonio we wanna be like san antonio san antonio we wanna run organization might them well then run your organization like that go through the ups and downs. Don't make needless mindless change. Just to make change. Stay the course. But everybody wants to be san antonio without what san antonio does which is continuity and they. Don't play the blame game. I don't want to litigate the bud situation. Because i think there's a lot of layers to that that are going on but i will say i will ask you this. You're you have been exasperated. As i've ever heard you in games three and four the series on the yoenis dribble up shoot a three. The baseline fadeaway. I as exasperated. As i've ever heard you. You're groaning when the shot is going up and then they'd say i just don't understand so how do you. How do you process that. Because i agree with you. There's a rush to blame. Mike budenholzer for all those shots. There's he doesn't adjust he's often sinks in the playoffs. Like do you think that. Mike budenholzer on the one hand. They have clearly enabled the honest to shoot. Three's started two or three years ago. They wanted to do that on the other hand. They've definitely had meetings and film sessions and discussions where it's like. Hey man like eighteen on the shot clock. Maybe not that. Maybe let's try something else so like i don't. I don't think they're happy with those shots. I think some of that has to fall on the player too. I think this is a little bit stubborn. I think he's struggling with the idea. That as a two time. Mvp he needs to be a certain kind of offensive players. Certain kind of half court score were by the way. He's almost getting thirty a game in the playoffs as it is. It's not like he's i see. People clowning yacht is he. Has no bag is no moves in lake is off. The dribble game is an amazing but if he can get you. Twelve points in transition. He's gonna manufacturer twenty eight thirty for the game you scoring fine. I just don't like. How do you process those shots. Like i don't think it can be bud. And i don't think i'll be honest. I think it has to be on both of them..

James horan Mike budenholzer Twelve points yesterday oklahoma both kevin durant forty eight minutes twenty-seven Milwaukee Jrue toronto two durant tonight second thing thirty one Wendy twenty eight thirty two time

Shooter did a lot of a lot of things themselves and couldn't get it done in the postseason. But then we see him with the nets and all the sudden. There's a much different side of him that we see a facilitator willing passer which he was always a willing passer but he was so much ice. Oh and now. He's such a catalyst type player. That i think he was able to elevate his game. Let me let perk answer. I got a time when finished you. You know what you know what. I actually liked it because james horan dear so was some differently this year the way he was able to sacrifice and take a back seat but then when kevin durant and kyrie irving went out he elevated his game even more time this season for the first time we actually saying he said that james wanted to seize the when he was healthy was the best player in the league. That's phenomenal. he was looking. That's fishing he was. He was making guys around him better. So i could see where you're going with that al and i agree with you all now. Where was on. at least. He's not on okay but is his saving grace. That is now in the postseason on a team. That's contending 'cause like if if postseason it comes into this equation of russia's deep into the postseason it just hasn't necessarily worked up we like hristo. I know if that your about you still need to see something now. Like he's not playing right now. Regularly was fantastic. Janas is on our list. He's had a terrific regular season over and over are we sure hardens off that list or does not belong on the list. Wh wh you know monica. That's a great point. And i think we we moving the goal posts too much. Okay when we talk about he is. We've talked about. He is who he is. I i wanna talk about it and keep it strictly on guys that you you expect more out of for scoring wise. But they're not just that they're not gonna give it to you right. You think about paul george. Everyone keeps saying the playoff pee on the show up when you know. When is he going to come out. And have one of those donovan. Mitchell type performers or even kawata type upon. He hasn't had the right. And then we talk about janas like when is he going to develop the skills shed of consistent jump shot. He hasn't done it then. We talk about russ right. Everybody's saying what manuel russ. He got a not download speed. Seen footage on each side twenty eight percent from the three. This is just who they are there. That is not a bad thing is just who they are. We have accepted Big perk menudo. Celtics should hires the head coach. Who should they go get. Ooh you know what i key. To be honest i lobby in for sam conceal. And here's why right. Sam because sale is a guy that not only won a championship in boston. That i happen to be part of their team. Okay i hear the brag but look. I wanted to ship in boston i. He won a championship in boston. He went to championships with with the rockies. He's played what hall of famous. And i'm getting to a point here. He's been a longtime assistant coach. All star type players all hall of fame type players. And so when i say that is because the boston celtics have to rising superstars and jason tatum and jaylen brown. Okay and what do you have to do. You have to bring a guy. Near as they're they're going to respect you also have to bring a guy in there that the fan base is going to respect. I so that goes back to the point where you wanna championship in boston. Now with jaylen. Brown jason tatum. What can you jaylen brown you. Jason tatum samco sale walking there. And he's holy accountable. What can you possibly tell sam conceal. Can you ignore the information that he's giving you know because he's done at an extremely high level he's one he's played with guys like allies warning kindergarten it. He's coast guys he's been in the battles and not only that he's a guy that actually put up big numbers and performed on the biggest stage lights were bright so it ended that think is a perfect fit. They just had to give him a chance to give him a shot. I don't know why they will look over here. So why wouldn't they give him a shot though park. Why why wouldn't they say you know what s the guy i don't know been getting looked over for the for the longest i thought even when the is job up this past off season that sam can sell being a guy that was part of the city. The great roussey. Never underestimate the heart of a champion. I thought he would get a look. The rock isn't even giving give them interview and this is could is disturbing. Because i'm sitting there saying this guy has paid his dues on as as a hooper and now as assistant he's been he's been under doc rivers for a while. He coached john wall and bradley beal in washington. And i'm just like why hasn't he got an opportunity. Why hasn't he got a fast site. Why hasn't even got an interview for one of these jobs perkins stuff today. We appreciate your minute thank you. This is a metaphor for your business journey. "That james harden's not just gonna miss game too if he was ruled out for game to sunday morning after a hamstring. That's been hampering all year. And unfortunately i mean the only real injuries ever had of his career not a guy who's been injury riddled. It's the opposite. He's been an iron man he's always out there. And now this hamstrings giving him trouble and we also know the nets were deemed pre hardened one team with harden another team once he went down and so why were they able to win game one despite harden going out because the milwaukee bucks literally had their worst three point shooting performance in three years. I don't think that's going to happen again. I can be like all they play. Great defense is kind of a lot of those were wide open. Threes and milwaukee were six of thirty. They truly have not in the regular season at least hit fewer than six three pointers in a game. Some twenty seventeen eighteen so. I don't think that's going to happen again. I do and i also think durant durant line is interesting brandon because it speaks to how great he is that he was able to almost get thirty but it wasn't easy right. It wasn't easy because pj tucker has as much experience garden. Kevin durant in the playoffs as any player in the league. I did that look eat. Did it look to you like grant those easy buckets or he had to work for those buckets because they will make him worry hardened out out there yeah. They're professionals of course but they won. It's getting to a point where i'm just redundant. I'm being a soldier was going to happen in playoffs. Nick yeah of course. Pj tucker does a great job when he's out there but we're talking about kevin durant right. This is the number to basketball player in the world. Right now behind. Lebron james so i don't care who you put out there you can bring back the glove. You wanna bring dennis rodman. Who else you wanna throw out there stack. You can come back. Put out during your prins. Big brother as stopping. Dj tugay. yeah right in. No nobody's stopping. Here's the do. I've been saying the same thing all year and i had to listen to this stuff. Well the big three. They haven't played together. Only play eight games. Did you see the ball movement When they play Then defensively older defenses trash. Well look what they did the bucks all year. Averaging one hundred and twenty points they their defense looked phenomenon waiting. We're communicating the game plan sensational and then rebounding older undersized their undersides what. A rebound battle was respectable. Here's the thing with james harden. Let me answer the question. Do you need james heart and you absolutely need james. And because that's that's why you brought them in. It makes the path to the finals. Just a little bit easier but these two still together. They're still going to get the job done. And then my dame mike james i hit my boy of justice or mellow april twenty first and say. Tell me about this guy. I think they signed him on a ten day and say about this guy said brandon and this was april twenty first six fifteen reasons for the brooklyn nets to win offensively to signing for mike james from moscow is huge the top scoring point guard internationally and former. Nba player will fill a huge void. Listen this is a friend vanfleet type do so you saw him yes. James harden was there but he can't that offense clicking he kept everybody in sync and he got everybody where need to be so until. James harden comes back. Mike james is going to be the guy that keeps this team together so so so you you got. You got to stop this madness with the brooklyn man. The brooklyn nets. You were at the game up close in in. What was branded burn. And what was your picking this series. It was nets six right nets in six was just writing this. That's right that's right that's right. We are now so a series that you didn't think the nutrasweet anything nets and five. You thought it'd be a good series. We now squad mission. That's right are replacing. The guy who thought should have been. Mvp of the league before he got hurt with the dude who they signed off a ten days from moscow. And you're like what i've been telling you. There's french buddy and off evaluation valuation after you go from harden to mike james from moscow. And your right. I did say the bucks would kill them on the glass and the offensive rebounds were fifteen to six and i did say the nets wouldn't be able to stop stop and he honest would go for thirty four thirteen and i didn't say the nets defense stinks and if you think holding the bucks to one zero seven on there were shooting night. They will have all series is good. I disagree with you. I don't think the nets played great defense. I don't i think i'm very fortunate on missed open threes. And that won't happen again tonight. That's where i think. I'll continue to be this broken record and just be redundant as i've been saying the same thing since december so while you nick knows what i said. I'd pick the nets to win it before they sign james horan so i still believe i'm still going to be confident. Saying whales confident with the clippers when they were down to and when they were facing elimination down three two so while you know what time it is. This team will stand up and get the job done. Okay i've got to guarantees and one question for stack. Here's the first guaranteed. The bucks will not shoot twenty percent from three. they're going to shoot much. Better guarantee number two blake griffin will not look like he's out there dominating when eighteen and fourteen. That's not gonna happen to guarantees. Here's the question that. I have no idea how this is going to play out late in the game stack blake griffin stepped over the nasice. It was just the ultimate disrespect. Nba has a long history of when you step over a guy whether it's tyler with its mile lebron. You know you're doing it. You're doing it to send a message. So the odd interesting part about this is. This is not like a figurative. Hey that's my brother on my team. We're all do the brotherhood. That's the honest literal brother. It says literal little doesn't.

"In san francisco down the jones gets in and plays but he hits has to ceiling on what he could. Yeah i. I've been trying to think of different things to say like when when they're on the clock and if that ended up being the decision this is why i really treasure our conversations buck. Because i feel like we scrimmage all this stuff and then we use chance to go on. Tv and talk about it like it. We've already frame these conversations and we've been saying for years you know we've talked trucks and trailers right and that's one of our good analogy. I think one of the other good nowadays. And i believe you came up with this one this shooters in scores like. That's what this is so to me. When they mac they mac jones. That's what i'm that's what i'm gonna use. I'm going to say they are taking shooter. Not the lee seems to be going towards scores. Because he doesn't wanna score he wants a shooter and so that's what he's doing so that tom trying to justify what they're doing because the conversations we've had on the pot. Yeah and that's tough because i'm trying to think in basketball terms like who are the shooter's get a really getting buck is because steph. Curry is a score. James horan is a score. Look dockets is a score. They aren't many guys that are just standing in the corner. Like steve. Kerr just knocking doing it. Like but but i the that is a a valid comparison. You can have a great shooter but it was more of the pressure on the coach to create plays for the shooter to get wide open. Looks where there's going to be times. There's going to be times where he's going to get smothered and when he smothered what he did he the ability to create that makes it tough ultimately in the perfect world. You off a scorer. Who is a pure shooter like steph curry like this. You know so. We'll see man. I think fascinated. But i want to go on record because i think sometimes when we make these critiques particularly because mac jones kind of been in the crosshairs is like we hate. I don't hate the nelly. I think the players a good play mark thing is man. I want that guy to make me right. I don't want him to make him right. Yeah that's that's it. We can move on there. But i think that's a that's a good good decision and a good discussion. That's taking place in san francisco and the system is so dang good whatever choice. They make these options. I think it's gonna work out. They're going to win. Games are gonna be successful. We're talking about what our personal preferences. Yeah i never get it. There's an amazon when you said it. I was trying to make. Nick mullins a hall of famer. Because i talked about this this me about this. Let's move on to the falcons because this is a situation where we've got a debate. It a little bit. Because the falcons the sydney for matt ryan is thirty. Five thirty six years old. They redid his deal. So it makes it. Very prohibitive for the falcons to move on from matt ran over the next two years because the cafe is ridiculous..

"You remember him he was the guy who kind of in worth spot who's the ARIGHT Incen- come on in sin that guy? He looked a little bit familiar and like way they said his name made me feel like I should know him yeah or hey, here's this guy again you you don't his. Name is James, Horan pronouncing that correct. He's not a name or a face that most trekkies are going to recognize. This is actually only his second stent on Star Trek we missed him in his first episode he will be back a few times and voyager and deep space nine. But where most people might in parentheses not recognize him from is because he was the shadowy figure in the. Cold War storyline of enterprise sure and I'm going to leave it at that. But you guys out there who've seen enterprise you know what I'm talking about with the Cold War storyline he's the guy who plays the shadowy figure is this guy that's this guy. So we'll point back to this matt when we get to that point and you know what I'm talking about and I don't have to cover it up with a Again. Anyway now, the Big Star here though Matt the Big Guest Star I have to tell you half of our production notes concern this particular Guest Star K is Stephen Hawking shirt playing, Stephen Hawking. Now, Stephen Hawking is the only guest on Star Trek to ever come in and actually play himself. I can see that I have no word on if this was a star trek fan using his fame to get. On the show or if this was like in reverse and the writers were like, no, no no. Let's get Stephen Hawking here because that'd be awesome like I I have I have no idea. There's no word on how th- how he came to be a guest on the show. I could see like he actually makes in my opinion, a surprising number of appearances on on film and Television. Yeah yeah now during the filming of. His seen as you might expect, you winds up getting tour of the set you know and when he's doing that and two quick anecdotes about that when they take him into the bridge area, he actually asked them to help him move from his chair into the captain's chair. So he could sit there. Yeah like so the the guy is a fan you know what I mean like that's why I say I don't eat could. Go either way because I'm sure the Writers Star Trek are also events hawking you know what? I mean but he he asked him do that, and then the other one is when they were going through the engineering section and they were taking a pass, the warp core, he actually stopped and stared at the warp core for a minute and then he looked at whomever and he said Hey I'm working on one of those. I'm working on that or. Of course he is. Right so but that is Stephen Hawking it is the real Stephen Hawking. Albert Einstein Sort Isaac Newton and the other person not real with that said Matt. This is where we're going to go through the episode. We'll go seen by seeing you stop us and tell us what stood out to you what questions you had along the way and what your thoughts were as we go through descent one into prologue data's playing poker with Sir. Isaac Newton Albert Einstein Stephen Hawking on. The deck when he is interrupted by a red alert, the enterprise is responding to a desk call to a distress call at the Odeon Nonaka outpost I cannot say that right there being attacked and nobody knows by whom the away team beans down and finds the scene of a massacre they look around and try to find out what happened when data opens a closet door and discovers a ball org. So it's one thing for okay. The doors jammed. I'M GONNA figure out how open I'm I'm not quite sure why he didn't just like pried open with his hands because he's data and he can write but once they opened the door and the board is just like standing there. Okay. I guess they. They were trying to keep the surprise for after the break but why was just standing there was he also trying to figure out how to open the door? Was He politely waiting for someone else to open the door like what what is going on there I'd like I I don't know and then. He makes it even more strange. Once, WE COME RAFF breaking they're not acting as normal like he definitely wouldn't have just been standing there. He would have been standing there. You know phaser ready something come on it's the Bergman were bork have strange ways especially when they're out of the collect anyway, Hey, let's talk about that opening scene, the Po- poker scene, right lots of jokes going on here by the way just just so you know. and. And I've gotTa talk about some of this the joke. But there is a joke between all the smart guys here are around the table and it was a bit of an inside joke that if you married the one, they told that Newton didn't get everybody else did yeah and basically data Sa- I forget what the actual joke was data says it's based on the I'm going to pronounce it's based on the Para Healy on procession of the planet Mercury and Isaac gets gets really mad and he goes don't patronize me boy I invented physics. Matt I'm. Not GonNa lie I have no idea what the perihelion procession of the planet Mercury is I assume it might have something to do with the path that it takes of its orbit. That's all I that's all I can think that it might be I don't know I didn't go look it up and I'm not that smart but it's apparently Mercury's perihelion procession cannot actually be explained minute by Newtonian physics and it was always thought to be the major flaw of newtonian physics. It was later however explained by Einstein's theory of relativity. Got It. So when they're sitting, you know when when he what he says it's based on an understanding of the pair. Into look at noon news he doesn't understand it and then he's on whatever. So I, understand gets a big kick out of it hawking does to obviously coming after after Einstein. Newton just don't even know what they're about. So that's that joke explain sort of Portland. Also when Stephen Hawking like they're putting down the thing and he goes wrong again Albert like the putting down the the cards that's a reference to the fact that Stephen Hawking himself has disproven many of Einstein's theories. So it's wrong again couldn't told you that right? I didn't know that now Matt in the poker hand here did you happen to notice what Stephen Hawking's hand was I remember it was four sevens. Card was it was four, seven, four, seven, four, seven. Forty seven. Did it again Did it again? Yeah. Yeah. Like I said half my production notes are just about that that silly little game honestly had nothing to do with the rest of the show, but it was still fun to see killer Philan-. There you go. There you go pillar filler. One more note descent part one is the only episode in all of Star, Trek where the episode title and the Guest Star Credits appear during the cold open rather than after the Inter Inter would titles The.
