NBA trade deadline 2020 surprises

"Other very minor trade deadline day deals from today. You guys all run through. Stop me if you've You've got something to say about them. The magic acquired James Ennis from the sixers for a second round. Pick the nuggets acquired choir Jordan mccray from the Grizzlies for Shabazz Napier. The rockets acquired Bruno Komo glow from the Grizzlies Jordan Bell. The hawks acquired Derek Wilton junior from the clippers for cash. Does he already waived. Oh they got their initial report. was that the hawks. Were sending back cash to the clippers clippers but then it was corrected cash was come in with Derrick Walton Junior. They not only do the hawks get a player who I believe. They're waving but they got some. Okay how's it was just a cash trade exchanging exchanging dollars and then the hawks also acquired scalp and two million dollars cash. I think from the Blazers for a future heavily protected second round pick I think its top fifty five protected. We descended a few times so we say one thing on scowl shirt in some limited portland. I thought he was actually decent. I thought he's athletic. He's good at both ends ends of the floor. It means he's not going to change a franchise around but I think he's he's a play. It was still some potential there. How many centers the Hawks and they've got dwayne deadman Now and obviously starting five of senators right now cadman Bruno Fernando scale and Damian Jones. I can't wait for the rockets and the Hawks looks to match up against the Senate's it's the skills challenge versus

"I for sure and yeah and wall and nobody had this inkling that Kevin Durant is going to end up on the nets just yeah you're right. I mean I mean there's some steam there in what felt like the last couple of days leading up to free the yeah. There's just in a <hes> in a world where everything is out there. It's been pretty quiet. Eight plus plus says task on the net stuff to target all right sixers were extremely extremely actes then change their team here. They signed Al Horford four years. One hundred nine million really like ninety seven million twelve million dollars in league championship incentives so you know it's a it's a it's around for years one hundred million. Let's call it that that was the mystery team. It was the Philadelphia Seventy sixers. They retain Tobias Harris five years one hundred eighty million dollars. That's Max. They acquired Josh Richardson in the Jimmy Butler fourteen trade. They retained Mike Scott two years ten million retain James Ennis two years four point one million signed Colin Quinn when you're vets minimum and then Ben Simmons. Here's reported has been offered a five year contract extension by the team. They lost Jimmy Butler who will get to and we talked about the heat of course and they lost J._J.. Rettig what's your grade for the sixers. Yeah I go a MIDAS okay <hes> because they were covered really well from Jimmy Butler you know they gave up a huge package for him for whatever reason they decide going forward. We don't want Jimmy part of our team. Now there's conflicting reports as to whether or not maybe they did did offer him a contract and left <hes> but I think they recovered extremely well. Be Bringing Al Horford and you bring in Josh Richardson for for Jimmy Butler who would literally the guy that they were rumored to be trading four when there were Jimmy Route Jimmy Butler rumors out there at the trade deadline right so I think that's when he was with the wolves and there was wolf he talked right and it was like oh we'll the heat include Josh Ridge than on on always too valuable yeah so yeah it was before the trade but really yeah you look at that starting lineup and it's Ben Simmons Josh Richardson in Your Back Court and your forwards are who's my small forward and missing Oh Tobias Harris and Al Horford along with Joel and beats gigantic. It's huge now. People are saying well. They're going the other direction. There are going to big when everybody else is going small. Listen Milwaukee is big too. They can shoot the differences. Philadelphia can't shoot. That's the question. Will they be good enough offensively. I think it's really all up to Joel embiid getting in better better shape now for all of the he was sick talk against the the Toronto Raptors. I think part of it was he. Just couldn't play forty minutes a game as the number one option. I think he's gotta get lighter and then all this stuff makes sense twice Harris if if drumbeats not good in the future Tobias Harris at five hundred eighty whatever it is five years Max is not a good contract right but if Joel embiid is great this Al Horford contract is phenomenal this even if he's paid till thirty seven I don't care it's all up to Joelovesbeets Simmons F._I._V. Tobias Hairs at five years Al Horford at four years. One hundred million all make sense if Joel embiid is good if not then they fall back step but but do you think there's more pressure on embiid to sort of go next level or Ben Simmons to go next level well yeah. It's a IT'S A it's a fair question. I think it'd be we know can get there. We've seen it Ben Simmons. I don't know if they're rich Paul somehow getting him a five-year Max ax contract extension on being not a great player. He's good very good but great defender. Obviously a nightmare in transition can fill up the box score but but he didn't take a shot outside of the paint into a playoff games so rich Paul is convinced. He's GonNa get better. I guess what else do I mean. They gotta give this a go..

Jimmy Butler sixers Joel embiid Tobias Harris Al Horford Ben Simmons Ben Simmons Josh Richardson Josh Richardson Kevin Durant Philadelphia Tobias Hairs Paul Joelovesbeets Simmons Josh Ridge Colin Quinn James Ennis Rettig Toronto Raptors Your Back Court Milwaukee

"Insider Grainger studios reminder coming up on ninety minutes from now it is the blazers and the nuggets game four from Portland last time they were on the court. They play basketball for a while in the end after four overtimes, Mike Malone's, Denver Nuggets fell short, and you try to learn from the loss and rather battle, you know, both teams are exhausted social thing for them as for us. So we will not use it as an excuse. We haven't used it all year long wall start using it now Mike Malone's nuggets series two games to one not since the days of red our back. Poaching testing PJ it we have a game goes long as it did the other night in the playoffs. Back to you guys in Philly. Thanks have only forty one hours from when that gave Mandalay tip off guys. Log in sixty minutes in that game. Right here. We got type dam Eighty-one. Who knows how long we're going to tell you what I don't know if it's a medical fact testy, but I guarantee you Denver was more tired than Portland was after that game James Ennis on the floor will find buffalo before he passes. Kyle our a little too tight on that is foul. The third of this quarter against Toronto and the third against Lowery in the game. That is significant not three individual files are tower. Three team fouls already on the raptors nine thirty four remaining tied for the tenth time of game for inbound comes to Jimmy Butler, seventy shoot as he works. His way to the left against Lowery, spins against Lowery, still pushed out tipped away by lower Butler gets it back wheels. And fires. Goes in. I'm white meltdown down has that was car allowing not to lose. Oh, what a bad foul here James is full board the advantage that the Sixers had. The second on NS, but how Butler that internal clock? Knowing the shot clock was winding down. Turning wheeling firing off the glass it end. Four. A federal. Signal James Ennis, I fought for a fall in the back court where there was a personal foul James Ennis, the bene Leonard technical missing as the first free. Throw miss by the Toronto Raptors game for the afternoon. What do they call it off the ball or just a regular technical would have been before the inbound? That's exactly what it is the ball while had yet to the inbounded James his picking full board committed the foul. I just saved the announcement on the public address. Did not hurt the Sixers as to why. Leonard misses the free throw about that Bank shot by Jimmy partly ball. Got knocked away from his back to the basket. He saw little time was left just turned shot at bly back today. Raptors down three because of that Butler three nine minutes to go Siaka, right, orange, seventy shoot. We're gonna get it took a Saul does Joe solid. The mid post passing out Lau a ball fake with two drives to the baseline Phages. Fires barely caught the side of the red Tobias Harris with the revised sixties got to be careful with their shot selection. Right now prep project. Stop Ben Simmons and made a call. I gotta figure beats up on top. It's a pick and roll with Harrison MB. Alright. So Butler has the ball. Excuse me, driving too. Big steps Mullane hangs. Mrs nearly got his own miss tipped out box. All the way to the far side out of bounds. It'll stay with Philly Bawku is just try to keep that ball. Out of the hand of a Sixers mid surge. And the bias Harris in the first row without the charter sorry PJ two point three on the shock. Why they didn't they said notice session? So just tap it out. Eighty four eighty one Philly twenty six ago, James Ennis will inbound about two strides from half court with two point three on the shot clock gets into Harris at the top squares for three missed it off the iron. It was typically lose four thousand go against Toronto gonna call it Pasco Siaka. I thought they were going to call it on Bentsen. That's what I thought like Ben was using PASCAL shoulder to go off. But instead they said PASCAL was pushing off again, we keep talking files. But that is now four team fouls on the raptors. So he get eight twenty two to go. Next foul OB and the bonus fourth personal on PASCAL Ceac him inbounded Simmons up by three of the Sixers drives five Harris base clock qualify Bacha. There's lower the other way just inside a half-point with the rafters down three passes to Siachen on the right hands it off to Leonard Hawaii holding the outstretched right arm. Now switches to the left into the mid post ten. To shoot sends it out gets it back hassle by Butler, spins to the base like lost the handle. Pets at least a six over Leonard hearing game and many of them almost all of them were near the basket. Most of them are like occurred within like ten feet of the basket. Did that your mom passed? But everything else is as gets in close in spins it, it just gets away from him. Eighty four eighty Philly seven forty nine to play four quarter Passover to Harris drives the baseline fives 'em beat a MacLeod spinning in the way. Triple team gets rid of it Harris has a look for three. It's on its way. No, good rebounded by Leonard and a loose. Ball foul. Kyle Lowry ended up on the deck thousand go against Billy James Anderson's just committed to files. One hundred one to bed is out of bounds ninety four feet away. And that one was about seventy eight feet away from the basket when they already had four tune team foul advantage. That's to me poor files by James now has three total as you said Philadelphia with three team fouls now Mark Davis is headed over to the monitor. Checking out maybe when NS knocked down lowering going through that imagine seeing if you trip them what he fell it didn't look like a flavored. I'd love to see another replay the indication I'm about a minute ago was tripping signal from Mark Davis on that foul. Meanwhile to free time out for both teams the raptors huddled over in front of their bench. And now the Sixers headed to their side with seven thirty six to go in the fourth. Here's your look at the ABC replay. I'll tell you. What was he tripped? At the reason he did Kyle Lowry kind of elbowed him and not them down. They've come up with a decision. Just a common foul, but it was kind of a retaliation still silly foul pile our in James Ennis were hooked up trying to clean them out with his left elbow chesting knocked him down. So he stuck his foot leg, I'll think of the best. That's team foul. Number three. They had a big advantage. They should have one foul James just committee. Tim fouls inside the free throw line. In the backboard Terada. Megan pay eighty four eighty one six or seven twenty eight ago, they go to Gosol baseline left against Harris into the lane bumps with the left shoulder fakes the turn up the hook missed it. A Bacha offensive rebound at a foul underneath against Billy. Big lineup is hurting really on the glass down near the saw had a smaller player on him. He got the hook shot. Doc, but missed it. But a box had a smaller player on him. He got the offensive rebound. That is the second foul and Scott the fourteen fouls or both teams are at the limit. There. Does the advantage seven twenty to go came to be in the bonus. The rest of the way inbound to Colli letter jiggling right hand left hand free throw line, jump stop. And Elaine passes out to console gets off a three from away at heads China game at Eighty-four does Marcus hall. Seven minutes to go in game. Four Billy with a two one series lead on the rafters seven minutes for the biggest win for each of these teams this year Jimmy Butler on the Wells Fargo center logo at the right hash to the three point line to the tip of the circle. Upside NS gets back Butler against the Baka three to shoot Butler. Step back date three. No good to log NS kept it out to stop fourteen Robin critical. That was the huge quiet and darted over his turn the ball over. Jimmy Butler was coming over for a hand off to try to throw a bounce pass and Jimmy Butler, and his sheds JJ Rettig started become an incendiary as he's already up to the scores table that was the eleven turnover doesn't come in here. Eleven took turns each way six and a half minutes to go in a eighty four eighty four games. It's so difficult for the Sixers when they don't have 'em be to go to down inside a less than one hundred percent. Joel Embiid hearing game for his letter drives hangs file gets a shot. Shot off no gets himself to the free throw line for the chance to untie this Dame at six twenty to go in the fourth. Mike Scott picks up his third while the Sixers all guard and forward lineup on the floor. All be a big lineup, but got Ben Simmons. Mike, Scott Tobias Harris, James Edison, Jimmy Butler. No bigs and Toronto's got walked to Saul it Sergio pocket two big on the floor. As to why? Leonard hits the free throw. He's six of seven at the line thirty two points. Four letter. JJ Riddick comes in for James Ennis for Leonard. He has had at least thirty three points in the first three games of the series shooting for thirty third here. But it pops in and out. No, good rafters lead by one. Second free throw Mr. Colli, Mr. technical also Joel Embiid has short off the bench. Just wait a t-shirt underneath his jersey back on eighty five. Eighty four Toronto. Here's a three pointer up, Scott. No good tap Simmons controlled by lower. The raptors browsing six minutes to go and game four. NB? Megan a slow walk through the stories cable Lowery dribbles between the circles met by Tobias Harris left side. Leonard has got thirty two shoots three missed it. Scott the rebound for Philly. Maybe a little bit of Teague and landed here in the fourth quarter, thirty seven minutes and counting as six get it into the front court and Brett Butler taller. Brett Brown Paul's for time out with five forty to go here in the fourth. We will step away from Philadelphia with the raptors try to even this best of seven series of to their leaders one eighty five eighty four on the Sixers five forty to play. "Zach ahead. How are you? Johny marks Greece. How you guys doing you? What that? I wanted to talk about my man Elton brand and how great of a job he's done, man. At one point last night. You had four Sixers that do start the beginning season date. Right. And that happens every time they put the starting lineup out. There doesn't it? Well, it was the backups and the backups that bands at the beginning of this would have lost to the Brooklyn nets. So the job that out and brain is done after getting rid of Bryan Colangelo has been so impressive. And I really hope the Sixers decide to stick with them because he has done a great job with getting returned for peace that you know, we're going to end up helping us in the end anyway. So. Guys. I'm so excited. I'm so excited for game four, and I just wanted to give some brands if somebody to thank. Zack. James Ennis out there again last night, ten points. Yeah. Good job James is I think helping Branson Saint thing is with with bread. If they lose the game people aren't going to be ready to because because here's the thing L andbranch going for right now. What does that mean after the season is he resigned in both of these guys is one of them walk? I mean, I don't know if I'm on a great job yet to be honest with you heard Howard say some yesterday that we haven't really discussed Tucson all forties guys to max deals would put the Sixers in tax. They're gonna have to pay tax when you get that long-term tax. They tax it even higher rate..

"For four today. The Philadelphia solve their problems on the offensive end, Tom at least so far here in the third quarter. I think they're the rhythm is a lot better to get good shots. As Ben Simmons misses the second one, but the other end of the floor. They're not getting enough stops. They need assured up defensively if they're gonna come back and win this game Pacers lead by three five and a half to go third quarter. Darren collison guarded by James Ennis top of the key. They slap off of them all three ball apartment deep twos. Way off the Mark. Wow. Foot in front of the line. And a foot wide Tobias Harris drives left side off the window falls off the rim. Rebound out the bogdonovich by Donna. Midcourt? Here's Matthews left wing transition triple in and out rebound, Tobias, Harris, Ben Simmons and Simmons forced to pick up his dribble. So Harris will bring it up. Simmons drives left side on Turner. Go to bump left at short, one of the whistle. Didn't get it. More shots missed by the Sixers getting the ball into the blue court the paid area here Wells Fargo center, but they're not making shots Turner for three that's off the Mark Pacers. Don't she lot of threes on average? They're five of twelve from deep today, but they shoot a good percentage. Fourth in the league. Nearly thirty eight percent from d Harris drives left side Latine layup blocked by Turner. There's a shop locker again after bogdonovich tried to go behind his back shot in the face from Scott and Bogdanovich goes down holding his face. Should I Mike Scott third team foul? Boy on by Donovan is still kneeling on the floor. He got whacked pretty.

"Put together job everyone. Donlevatar show with stugatz on ESPN radio. Yeah. He may or may not have been murdered. And we don't know where your body is. At lebatardshow. It seems like we had a lot of good polls today what we didn't have was a whole lot of trade deadline activities. So far there were some murmured. But that's about it. Time James Ennis moved. But we didn't know what team he was on before. Or what team that he's going to? And it doesn't really matter. So go ahead and update the polls at lebatardshow pleased to God's we got a lot of votes on a lot of different people are really angry and fighting over just about anything we discussed today. Can this little vignette ESPN has made about whoa, JR. Be both cool and lane. Eighty one percent of the audience said, yes, it is funny. It's just always funny that in the way to show reporters being reporters, all you can do is have them picking up coffee, mugs or phone. Can you trust people that choose Pepsi over coke? This is the most I think it's the most in show votes. We've ever had an Opole. I people are going crazy about many. We have nearly fourteen thousand votes we had more yesterday on something. You were a prisoner of the moment every time. Anyway, sixty nine percent of the audience said, no nice. In show. We had more. Is one of the Staples of deadline day, gaps being bridged. A big one. Eighty one percent of the audience said, yes, of course. Surprised that one didn't get more votes than we've ever had. Unfortunately, no, gaps are being bridge right now. Can you get past the gap without a bridge? Fifty six percent of the audience said, yes. Now that. Is that the best part of the Super Bowl? What were we talking? I think it was Super Bowl squares francesa. Wears. That's right getting and I think Billy added to that knowing the first quarter score and getting a ribbon. I believe the ribbons the best price. Forget the money. Sixty four percent of the audience said, yes. You like ridges with your potato chips. Seventy percent of the audience said yes, oh, that's a bit of an upset. Guys, guys, we're arguing for no ridges is the the big question of the day. What is more deserving of being a first ballot hall of Famer red Doritos or blue Doritos? Sixty six percent of the audience said read Doritos number one is going on here. Doritos are the Doritos. They were supposed to be. That's it. Right. And the blue Doritos mean that the original blue Doritos or Doritos on steroids. And that's why no one's getting them into the hall of fame upsetting the red red Doritos are the compilers Harold Baines. Hourigan originally it's been around forever. But the blue Doritos or Barry Bonds, I mean so much better. He's not in the hall of fame should be though. I mean, that's why they're keeping them out. Because you know, he's a better version of Babe Ruth. And I'm saying the blue Doritos are a better version of the regio about that. Homerun king blue Doritos. I don't know. How you do this every day? I really talk. I'm sitting here wondering, I just I don't know how you do it. I don't. As far as MAC is go is Madison Square Garden the worst of them. Eighty three percent of the audience said, yes. Do you get disoriented by? That's Billy, of course. Now to be fair to to be fair to disorientation Billy gets disoriented by everything seventy seven percent of the audience said, yes. Do you love a method to a madness? We doesn't eighty one percent of the audience said, yes, if you call the coyotes, the yogurts, are you an irredeemable jackass eighty four percent of the audience said, yes. Did Chandler Parsons retire? We could have looked at up on the internet. But instead we asked you sixty percent of the audience said, yes, who is more sensitive the media or Kevin Durant. Now, that's a big one here. Seventy nine percent of the audience said, Kevin Durant. Healy hate the media. What are you doing? Did. You know, it was a legal in America for males to show their nipples before nineteen thirty seven ninety two percent of the audience said, no murmurs or whispers, which is louder seventy nine percent of the audience have murmurs. Those are the polls. Thank you, Stu gods at lebatardshow on Instagram and Twitter..

"Welcome in everybody to the memorial Hermann postgame show. I'm just now catching my breath after the rockets go into overtime for the second straight game. Only this time. They made enough shots and made enough plays and got enough stops forcing turnovers in the fourth quarter and overtime to win over the Lakers. One thirty eight one thirty four their third win over the Lakers so far this season. And it was a dandy because they had fallen behind after listless first half they trailed by eighteen sixty four forty six. At the intermission. So when the second half got started the rockets had to do two things they had to get stops. And they had to knock down open shots when they got them something that they weren't doing in the first half as far as knocking down. The shots were concerned. James NS picked up the ball and ran with it. Drawing devil team is he went to the right hand side of the floor freeing-up James Ennis wide open top of the key for an open three which he's stuck. That made it sixty four forty nine good way to start the third quarter. And then Eric, Gordon who was terrific all night long tonight. He stuck a three pack two rivers on top to Erik Gordon. Four three good. Eric sports with his second three of the game. So that capped off a six to one run by the rockets to start the third. It was sixty nine fifty two when James Ennis went to work again. Three steps. And for a long to MRs and Lonzo ball is Hertz. Twisted an ankle, and he is writhing in pain rockets planned five on four NS with the dunk and the open floor. The Lakers are going to need a call a timeout as ball is down and hurt. Yeah. Lonzo ball. Suffering. A twisted ankle on that play was taken to the hospital for x-rays. Did not return.

"Cappella wasn't there for protection so teams were getting to the rim more easily and now Capella just not there and Houston doesn't have a lot of depth. You're relying on guys like marquees Chris even for short stints in last night's game until he was pulled. You're relying more on PJ Tucker. There's a greater demand on him. You're relying on guys. Like, I say Hartenstein relying on Gary Clark relying more on James Ennis. How does this over the course of time hurt Houston on defense when Nain as you're starting center? That's where I think Houston against better teams, a more potent offense of teams are going to get exposed hardened still gonna get buckets, no matter who's on the floor. Four and that's going to cause fatigue for him. But their defense that I would be especially concerned about without cleanse Capello yet. And that's was on second night of a back to back after you just knew he was going to explode after the headlines everywhere from the priority where the rockets blow it and he goes one for seventeen from three. I mean, you just do the next game. It was going to be man on fire. And in fact, it was no doubt. And the other side of it is obviously like you've mentioned how aesthetically like you just don't like the style of basketball. Right. And I do I I like watching James harden style. But the one thing that I've written about in the past and context of the Russell Westbrook. I think I had a twenty sixteen or twenty seventeen article. When Russell Westbrook was having that triple double season, and you look historically at at players that have posted a usage percentage over thirty five. And right now harden is at thirty nine point nine in its way higher than that over this past month. Those teams. Typically, don't go far in the playoffs. Because you can't you can't play winning basketball on the playoffs relying solely on one player. Just doesn't work. Whether it's the AI Sixers in two thousand or Kobe Bryant, or even you know, Michael Jordan's on that list. Even like you need other players. So right now, the rockets are getting what they need from James harden in order to stay afloat. But this isn't going to work for them in the playoffs. And it might not even get them a higher seed like they really really need. Chris Paul to get back, which might not happen for another two three weeks. I've heard. Yeah..

"Welcome into memorial Hermann post game show. Everybody rockets fall tonight in Portland one ten one on one the six game winning streak is snapped rockets now twenty two and sixteen on the season Portland at twenty three and seventeen after getting the win tonight. Really the strength of the Portland lead in this game for the entirety of the second half was built on what they did at the end of the second quarter when they went on a twenty two three run to take thirteen point lead in that game. Austin rivers carried the rockets in the first half, he had seventeen at the break and the rockets. Would fight their way back into it as they are known to do with James harden getting going early in the third quarter art across the timelines straightaway. Right left back left. Then right, then back to the left hand will drop it in a little teardrop rd. That teardrop of the two point variety. Followed by the three point variety here. Harn left with the free throw line austat back. Three is up in the first three ball of the game for the beard. That cut the lead to eight and things start to get a little bit more interesting. And then it was click cappella splitting a couple of defenders for a basket. Just like that at thirteen point lead again for Portland. Here's capacity kids to blazer defenders. And he throws it down. Emphatic dunk fair cut the Portland lead to eleven and then Gerald green who had a nice second half got into the act white handrail in the paint turns lanes fadeaway ten footer front rim side glass through. Nice move and shot there for green almost as nice as the three that he hit next. We'll keep it at seventy to fifty eight with six twenty two remaining in the third. Green open straightaway. Three is on the way in. After a Damian Lillard three put them back up by sixteen harden would cut that back about three twelve. Yeah. Straightaway from twenty-five seventy seven sixty four and they kept chipping away is hard and found James Ennis for a bucket come away with his aren't looking for an incident, he'll drop it in for a nice mid court feed. Portland's half court game didn't work. The rockets did. So they were looking to get back within single digits as the third quarter came to a close. And James harden, made it happen aren't right side angle going into layman's. Get spy Lehman throws it up drops it in. Missile. So the rockets would win the third thirty one twenty seven James harden with twenty in that third quarter, and it was eighty six seventy seven trailblazers as we went to the fourth James harden on the bench to start the fourth quarter, which meant that Austin rivers went to work once again behind him to rivers three point line left right hand dribble. Drive for Austin throws it off back around in. Austin rivers now has nineteen and then Clint cappella not known as an assist guy. But a nice nice bounce pass on this play. The Gerald green gives it a cappella bouts passed a green hand Throwdown. And it's a five point game. Yep. But that five point differential was as close as the rockets would get after that Portland took another double digit lead before. Austin rivers would bring the rockets back yet again six and a half remaining in the game the sets a screen rivers floats in the lame the left hand got two more. Austin rivers has been such a valuable addition eight hundred fifty for the four he's got twenty one that'll be a rocket high. And that's what he finished with twenty one. He played.

"So for my final, that is fair that I will say you're right, Greg Monroe was obviously when he got there, he was, you know, big name free agent. Everyone wanted is Julia wasn't Zaazaa that we know now. So yeah, that is fair. I'm glad you brought that up, but I feel like you know, Brooke is the best you probably the most skill. I'll say that was skill, big band that they've had. Absolutely. So for my last x. factor I went with James Ennis who I think he's going to have a huge drill in Houston right away just because they lost Trevor Aretha which we've talked about. Nauseam, they lost the Sharma Bob multi. So they're going to need another three D Wayne bear that's going to be it's going to fit into their system. And so far just from what we're hearing from the offseason workouts from preseason. The rockets are thrilled with the got an James Ennis. He's another guy that's playing on a very cheap deal. He he, he's gonna be. He's he's so important is because he's replacing such important players for for the from last year. There was an article from the Houston chronicle where crisp there was a a workout early in the summer where all the rockets players got together and plates on five on five coaches weren't about to attend. But magnum Tony was texting with Chris, Paul about it afterwards and yes, yes, Chris, Paul directly like how to James Ennis look and Chris responded, get, didn't look good. He looked great or something like that. So I mean, turn the Chris Bosh respect that quickly that really shows you like how well already acclimated to the system for his career. He's he's a, he's a long athletic wing originally drafted by the Miami, he he's a career thirty six percent three point shooter. So that's three d. mold is perfect for him. Last season while here's what the pistons, it wasn't a Houston emphasized, but it was the sixty first percentile in transition scoring. So on those plays with the rockets wanna get out in Baronne with with Chris Paul, James harden, he's gonna be right there filling the wing ready to finish plays with highlight dunks and even more importantly for in a half court setting. He was in the the eighth percentile. I'll be small sample size. I believe it was only nineteen possessions, but in the ninety, seven percents all as a cutter. So not only is the guy that's going to be able to knock down three pointers. Like I said, thirty six percent from three when a difference is follow CPR, they're playing tightly. He also has a strength, the athleticism to wherewithal. It's and no one to cut. And I mean, if you're cutting and you have guys like James harden and Chris, Paul with the ball in their hands more tonight, you're gonna say you out perfectly for a dunk. So I'm really excited about what will James and is going to do for the rockets next year and he's gonna. So the whole left behind by Trevor Aretha perfectly on a much cheaper from from the sons which is like fifty million dollars for next season. Yeah, that's a great breakdown where we came up with our list. We didn't want to have a duplicate in, but we also didn't. Want to, you know, see each other less. So we, we set our list to a colleague. James Ennis was the only guy that we both had listed. So I agree with you. Obviously, I think he's going to be a breakout player. This is the biggest opportunity he's ever gotten this career to have big minutes on a contending team in. I think it's a perfect fit, like you said, they need him in that three d role issuing has been impressive. He's a good defender, a really good energy hustle guy. So I think he, I think this is what Houston needs, and I think they're lucky to have found him after losing Trevor Aretha in Mahmoud say they needed him a guy like him to step in, you know, they brought in Carmelo, Anthony, and the casual fans are gonna look at that move. And you know think he's the big addition..

"There are a lot of the bigger voices in the room that have helped kind of guide and help with any organizational structure that they might need. Those guys are gone. So I'm a little dubious on on San Antonio this year. Okay. See is going to be missing. Andre Roberson started the season and last year they were completely different team when he was when he was healthy versus when he wasn't. And that's not even to mention that Russell Westbrook is is going to miss maybe the opener and the opening week or so of the season. So they're going to have to to work on that as the season goes along, Houston swapped out Trevor Aretha for for Carmelo, Anthony and James Ennis knocked. But I, I think the Lakers have the opportunity because of, oh, Minnesota's. So so like you the leakers are going to have the opportunity because of the way that things have kind of broken down in the west early on in the season, they can tread water in figure things out as they go along. Yeah, but I think at the same time you've got, you've got teams. We're talking about the west, the Memphis grizzlies if they're healthy, the Dallas Mavericks, I think these are teams that aren't as bad as people that we're we're. We're writing them off already as though they're not playoff contenders. Mike Conley, Marcus all. I mean, these are guys who can who can play Chandler persons if he ever gets healthy. That's that's a team that that could be dangerous that everyone's just assuming isn't in that that mix. So I think there are some teams that can jump up and make the west, even more dangerous. And even if they don't make the playoffs, if they're thirty five win team, they're the type of squad that can get you on a Wednesday night January. That's the point I was gonna make, which is I don't feel like look the Mavericks if they have, you know, they're five hundred. That's good season for them right now. The grizzlies have a little bit higher expectations, but they expect to be a forty something win team..

"Yeah, action report. Take a listen. I am trying to. You know, it doesn't really matter to me. I just wanna do whatever's best to win. That's what really matters finish. I second, let's start with you. Of things. Don't conversation. Eric Gordon, keep the extracurriculars till the commercial break and even Jackson, please. You have the floor. What are you coming off? The bench and Eric starting air, don't care. He's been. He's played well in both rose. I think we're mellow when they say you're not going to start him who you gonna start before you is my question. Air Gordon. Great, six man. He has to be the sixth man of anything. I mean, he's to first of all to position. So who would you fit in that position to do a mellow does off the bench Lana one. Again, I'm going to go to Mike Antonio's overall thinking here. It's not necessarily in the lineup. He starts with, he wants to pair them with James Ennis basically. So he can hide him with the second unit and we go to James Ennis on the better school he defended. I'm gonna go back to Covington with the seventy Sixers. He's a great defender. He's not first team all deepens, so I don't. I don't know what they expect minutes. He's better than Melo. Maybe you're right about. You know what I reminded over. Remember the way not coming off the bench in Cleveland. Maybe start them just to show that it don't work, and then you bring them off the bench to show him how much better. I assume that Mel coming off the bench. If you are talking about psychology and all of the different things like look, I, I would have to think that if you put mellow in more of a position to succeed where he's not only playing with NS, but against the other teams, not best players, and he can find more of a rhythm and be more of the mellow that he sees himself as not as sort of he was categorized last season. That is an important confidence in psychology booster that might didn't Tony has to get started early in the season right. Vice and don't try to change his game play. See, we'll see how it can't be an impediment because of ego. He's got to be an impediment because of his issues with defense or whatever. He, he ego can't be a reason why he doesn't succeed. Good coaches need to manage a hundred different things about every player they coach and Mike dantonio obviously coach the year good coach, so we will see how that goes coming up. We'll talk about Kyle Lowry this, you know how he wasn't very happy with the raptors the summer for trading for Rosen. It got so much that he wasn't answering the phone. We'll tell you after the break..

"Center get to the remnant and finish over a minute and use that big body can go through even a lot of centers, and then you know, power forwards just don't have the strength to keep them away from the Romi really ahead, some dominant games with legs. I'm phase one of the players. I'm very curious to see how he plays it this year because he is someone who could be extremely hard to deal with you on see whether that was an aberration or not. So yet then you've got who you know if you, you're playing him with a d. wall unit guard AD with your center will that's a pretty tough match-up with AD shooting his ability to sprint to the rim out of pick and roll his villi to face up at and drive by slower players. You have to obviously respect his jump shot. He's not a great ice, oh player, but if you're guarding him with a slow traditional center, he can certainly be effective going one on one against the player like that. He can space it out to three if needed. And then you can't put that lumbering center on MIR ditch because he's all the way away from the rim as well. So these guys, especially if they start a d. miratec, which I think is what they should. Do anything they should bring Randall off the bench there for teams that start traditional center like they're just not gonna be able to stop these guys because of that front court versatility. And that's something I like about the pelicans. They conceivably could put out some lineups with really good spacing. They have trade-offs on the defensive end because a lot of their good shooters are just not on the perimeter, just aren't good defensively. But the idea of playing four or five out with the talent they have is just going to be brutally hard to stop. And then you know they could go to some of those lineups closing fives. They could go to some of them just when they need a little bit of a jolt they can. They can go that direction. And something else say like about the pelicans as a strength is that, and this will get into weakness to that they, they have some holes, but they have a lot of different options to try to fix it. And so I don't really necessarily like any of them, but at least they have guys like this Zimring deckchairs around. But yeah, they're all out of duct tape a lot of deckchairs. So that's going to be, you know, ten like they have a lot of bandits. I, I guess, isn't what to do it and also theoretically because they don't have all these committed roster spots. It's still is fr. Strating to me this. We talked about this off season grades so they didn't really get even like a good flier of three, not every team, consigned, James Ennis or Trayvon Graham, but they damn well should have. But at least now like on the buyout market or the, you know, theoretically, if somebody steps up on a two way contract or or somebody wouldn't be too, it'd be in the Juliet or something like that, they that would be a great situation to sell somebody like if you could say to a three on the, you know, who's kind of breaks out this is the best place you can go on a minimum contract because a lot of the other like glamour markets have guys at three. So just say, hey, you can come here. You can get minutes for us. Hopefully they can actually use that in and get something from it..

"Now you bringing Mark Hughes, Chris guy who needs a change of scenery, not a lot presence and you hope that that's when reverberate him. So I like it just moves up just a bitney slightly since July big, got out of Ryan Anderson deal. But guys, I gotta be honest when I looked at the names and I looked at who's going where I kinda shrug my shoulders. Whatever. I don't think anybody within this deal is going to make that much of a major impact as far as can you be Golden State? I mean, they can look themselves in the mirror guys. Honestly, say that they were Chris Paul injury away from me winning the champions. I mean, I'm sure maybe finals might have been a little bit closer because a matchup might have been a little better for the Cavs, but when you're that close to a title that does not lead to believe that you move away from that you're trying to add to. And if you look at all of the moves on the roster that they have this off season and granted, a lot of these are role players. I mean, ultimately, look at the bottom of the screen there. They recite Clint Capelle. That was probably the most important thing that they did, but look at all these new faces and you look at the guys on the left. I see guys, not necessarily good defenders. Okay. I'll maybe James Ennis, but you look at the guys on the right and you're missing some of the best guys Carmelo Anthony. He's not helping you defend the warriors. You look at, you know. Brandin Knight. He's, he was not a good defensive player before he toys ACLU's coming off ACL injury. So while I do give the concept that Mike dantonio may be get more out of Chris and get more out of Brandon Knight because we've seen guys come into my Antoni and move forward. I'm not sure this actually helps them close. Do you agree that they're better since July? No, they're not a lot you know. And the only thing is there's been some money issues that have been part of these deals. You talked to executives in the league. They're like, you know, they're spending a lot of money on James harden, Chris, Paul and outland cappella, and they've just had to spend less money on their role players. If you look at this information that we put together here are researchers, he look at the percentage of the Kathy for for their big three look how much money they're making. Okay, and they're going to be a team that's going to be in the luxury tax for while they're going to be repeated tax. If you're telling for your Bill Morrie and you got a magic happy, you gotta say missile. We gotta maybe cut some money in this deal while we want to run around circles. This cuts, maybe ten million dollars off for next. Look at that graphic and I go, they'd better win this year. Gets his Paul's deal on the books for the next few years and you have that much locked into that much money moving forward. You better win this season because if you don't, you're in a whole eep of trouble as far as still trying to climb up this way of his deal. You've got the cl- the clock ticking on Chris Paul, you don't know how many years left got his prime. I don't. I don't think any of us thinking year four that deal. He's going to be the same, Chris, Paul, that he was last, we'll know if you'll be saying Chris, Paul, this coming up season, right? But to ask you a question, No, they haven't ganged ground than go stay wars wars. Just on another level right now, hopefully rock is are just hope that some of those young guys can improve and get to the point where they can contribute speaking of the warriors Mr. Haynes the warriors got past those rockets of Western Conference finals last year for this. Those Gavin poured that champagne their third title. In the last four seasons, Steve Kerr gave an interview to the barrier newsgroup there came out today we studied, they wanna shake some up to season a quote..
