"To a two hour show. So we really do look forward to that. And again that will start. Well, tactically. It starts January first we are off January first, but that will be expanding January second. Let's take a quick phone call. Let's go to Brian Brian. Thanks for going into the Vegas. Take our you on doing pretty good. How you doing Brian doing good? What's up my man? For me. It's gotta be Michael Jordan. You know, I was born and raised in Salt Lake City area near Todd's. Yeah. We finally made it to the NBA finals against Chicago. And the first time was ninety seven and the series was you know, the old one up to we came back on the next two games game ply was in Utah. And we heard that Michael Jordan had a severe bout of the flu. I remember that game. Dehydrate? Or something. How many points? Did he score that night? I remember the exact game you're talking about. She scored a bunch. Horrible swallow is porn. He he was I remember you said. Yeah. I remember watching that game on TV was unbelievable only got about another minute bribed. But the reason why Brian I think that Jordan is the best first of all he was always a killer. One of those guys that wanted the basketball ten seconds to go. He didn't want anyone else to touch the ball. I never felt that way about LeBron James Brian. Would you agree? Yeah. Here. He scored thirty eight points at game. That's what I thought that was a really good guess. And so then the next year he comes back and makes this shot. We don't have famous. I remember. Yeah. No, we were. Vanik? He was just you know, what you have a lot of credibility, and I appreciate your opinion. Because apparently Jordan crushed some of your dreams. But you're still here on on the show to say that he was the best player of all time, and Brian I I couldn't agree with you more a hundred percent,.

"A lot of drama out here in our neighborhood here about Klay homes future after they lost the cows. So we'll say what do you think happens there who would be the guy to fix it for USC? That's the tough question. USC always kind of goes to somebody. They know and it's usually underwhelming move. You know, you look at USD like I won't point people people said, oh, some of the people who Lynn Flon. Listen to really wanna see you Jack. You're like what Hugh Jackson? But it's like if you you can kind of see some of this kind of kind of bizarre process, you know, Jack del Rio with another guy former USD player here all the time. NFL I've been hearing that for like ten years checked Rio. Yeah. You know, what only brings the jacket back? Yeah. I I don't see a USD VM thinking like, hey, you know, what Jeff Ron's are really smart coach. Let's go get him. Let's go see if we get Matt Campbell. I could see like Hieaux state if they had a coaching search do that. I could see, you know, if you're USD you you go get Stanford steams favourite head coach and try to go sniff James Brian Cowen back on the web. Options your USC. They're like, I don't wanna say easiest job in the country. But it is it is built in a way that no other place like power program. Because if you're if you're at Ohio State, you still have Michigan and for like that is a one in one a if you're in Alabama, you got LSU you got off or you got, you know, Florida Georgia. There's a lot of other heavyweight even if you're sexist give Oklahoma when you're at USC there is no one all these kids and southern California grew up wishing to be Trojan. You have such an advantage one of the guys used Heathrow staff at me, I ran into him not that long ago, and he said at USC don't recruit you've just value. All the other kids wanna beat your. So I don't know what they do. I mean from everything I've heard Lynn Swann would like eat clay help give him more time. If he can now he loses this week and end up on a three game losing skid against. Cal- of down UCLA program, and then Notre Dame and get the Farris. I don't know. All bets would be off. I think at that point because I think it becomes hard for them to sell tickets gone two thousand nineteen. Being out here. Now, it is amazing how frustrated everyone is. But then as you say other programs go, well, no, we just expect to the guy. But in by the way, there's not nearly as many guys I can't even think of how many hires recently that program went. Yup. We're like how many times in the last ten years has a program gone. Absolutely. Nailed it a high state saving would have been before that Tom Herman would be some of that as well. You're talking about a big big. You're not talking about. Purdue goes, yes, Jeff rom. I'm not talking about Dave during no. The guy across town that way, I think chip was, you know, I certainly think Washington dot when when Chris Peterson kind of fell in their lives USD took star for their hand. I think that if USC for as great as the place is it has a really kind of warped sense of things at when it comes to these decisions. And so, you know, if I'm the US fan, I'm scared to death. When I hear what they think you Jackson, the good idea. What now I mean, you know, you'd hope somebody has talked them off the ledge. But who knows he was out here last week? He was out here at the FOX green room last week. He he might be a colleague of mine for all. I know right now that would be weird like I take FOX USC head coach. Although it works out that way..

"And one of the tapes was this unreleased James, Brian, Renee, Harman movie called run county run, which was totally random in saying that it was in the trunk of his car, but he called Zack and was like, hey, do you want the statements exit? Sure. So he sent his act and we watched it and we're like, oh my God. This is like I totally gift from heaven. How does this exist? So we ended up contacting Jim. Brian saying, like what's going on with Ron Carey run, would you like to release it and said, oh, yeah, sure. So at the time bleeding skull was in a partnership with Mondo which is kind of like art Yukiko the Alamo draft house. And so we ended up releasing it on VHS and that was where the partnership started. And from there we did run Cardi run. And then we did a movie with him called jungle trap that came out last year and jungle trap was the last James Brian Renee, Harman project that was never finished. So we actually finished editing the movie and Andy and recorded the score for it, and we finish the movie with James Bryan and released it last year with none bleeding skull. And so that was like a big project with him. And then lady street fighter came about because to me, that's like where Rene Hermann and James Bryan like wither partnership, really Boston to the lady street fighter. It's one of my favorite trash action movies. Yeah, he just he has the rights for the movie and he had all the stones and we're like, hey, like extra has a has a label. Now in distribution, would you be interested in doing lady. Street fighter, and that's how it came about. We were really, we're so fortunate to have a working relationship with James Brian. It's like you were saying before, like it's a good time to be alive. Just life is insane. Sometimes I can't believe it did I read write that? There's actually the sequel to later fighter on the Blu Ray it is. Yeah. So we were James Bryan on at his home in Lufkin. Texas has this giant where our house, it's like his film archives. So it's entire all of his films and all of his memorabilia and paperwork and all that stuff. And so one the same day that we found the jungle trap tape sweet found a plastic in that said revenge of lady street fighter, and we were like, hey, like what? What is this? And he's like, oh, that's the sequel revenge play. Streetfighter was only released on VHS in South Korea, and we were like in a finished movie and he said, yes. And so we were like, well, we gotta do something with this really cool. So he ended up having the original thirty five millimeter camera negatives. But the thing about the movie is that it's, it's basically like twenty. Five minutes of new footage and then like the rest of it is all lady streetfighter footage and that was kind of Rene Harman's mode of making sepals. She would take pieces from other movies and composite them together and make a new movie out of it. So the revenge of lady street fighter sequels actually on like twenty five minutes of new footage and it's totally it's such a movie in such a weird thing to watch. It's pretty great..

"Sure. And I said, so what's the deal with that? I know you ever tape master and he's like, well, there's one sixteen millimeter print. I know where it is, and I know who owns it and they want some money. And I said, how much do they want? And he told me and I thought, I think we can make that work. Like, I think the amount that they're asking, I think we can do it. So we came back to Austin, had a couple of meetings talked about it and we're like, okay, I think we can do this. So we ended up getting on the phone with the rights holder and the person who own the film, which was the producer's son, and he had it, and he was willing to work with us, and it ended up being a pretty long drawn out. Process of being able to get the price to where where it would work for both sides and then also getting out to LA to actually get the film elements and get being them back here in Austin. But once it actually came together, it was a really easy process. It was just a matter of like, Rudolph knew where it was, and he was the connection. So he, oh, we owe it all to him for making it happen. I you guys involved when it comes to all the extras and all the things that go along with the releases. Yeah, yeah. For the reasons we do everything ourselves for the most part for something like take it out in trade. So with that one, we flew out in New York and recorded. I recorded it commentary was Frank, Hannon, Lauder, and Rudolph. And then we also are including another movie that was in something viewed our time that stars, Edward, how the love seat, and he plays this photographer guy. And then we also have the take it out in trade outtakes which were that was like the very like. The coolest thing about that was that back in the ninety s something weird. Released this silence sixty minute. Take out takes. On tape of taken out in trade. So that was the only way to see like, what is this movie? And it just made the myth of the movie the Marjorie, like having that VHS. So we're able to go back to those outtakes and rescan than k. so those are also on a Blu Ray. And then we also have some exclusive liner notes from Rudolph grey. So it just depends on each released. Like how much we do. They're literally only three people on the staff of Agfa and then Brad, who's this? You actually go sales manager. He's in LA, so he's not here with us in Austin. So the three of us kind of figure out of the four of us figure out what the extras are going to be. And then we kind of go from there and try to make it happen. This is such a time to be alive. I mean, we just didn't episode about Dennis opposite the last movie I just saw today the trailer for the other side of the wind, and now we've got taken out in trade as well. This is nuts. Yeah, it's crazy. I know I hear you crazy. Another excellent release that came to my attention recently was lady streetfighter. How did that one come to be. We're huge fans of Rene Harmon and James Brian who made lady streetfighter. James Brian's, don't go in the woods. It was like a some of an all kind of introduction into trash horror film making. For me back in the day, we started working with James Brian because that Carlson who's part of bleeding skull and also used to be part of Alamo. He Brad Brown brought out James Brian for screening of don't go in the woods at the Alamo like ten years ago. And so he had known Jim through that, and we got wind of this crazy thing happened where Zack's friend in San Francisco bought a used car and in the back of the trunk of used car, there were some VHS tapes..

"For hanging Carson Yeah how you doing this afternoon good. Good thanks for asking Yes That says that? Athletes Athletes and there's. Nothing more to them I'm a special education I deal with students, in urban community setting that have come from low income families. Probably similar to this And James opened up and you know one of my one of my jobs. Is to face life So so After Deals but We, had affects, I Our school, or honest our president our principal to, actually The game winning three pointers and, when he's asked me to show up to our. School, it makes the world, of difference, for these students athletes Talks I case like you. Know same school do the right thing and the next day, you know these students are you know their faces are So I I I'm very critical of anyone that says that, an athlete has, no influence community Orrin politics Your phone's breaking up as we got most of your point in Carson That if you've got good athletes in your community and they are. Tempting to give back that the giving up their time effort and money and we had a caller who took the stance of he basically say he didn't believe that LeBron James was putting much of his own money into the project as part of in Akron that he has to relationships with even deeper pockets zone and sponsors and. The like that he just kind of put this together quickly to fray the criticism needs gonna take and state of Ohio because he's going to the LA Lakers that he thinks that he just kind of slapped, this, thing together by calling a couple of his deep-pocketed friends and said hey. I'm going to take some grief because I'm going back to the Lakers so? Can you guys write a big check for me and help me out and I'll pull a couple of strings here and we're going to build a school inaccurate and that way, they won't kill me when I go back there to see my house After I signed with the Lakers I think. That's just a politically motivated stance he doesn't like Brian or he doesn't, like the fact that I'm stating I think the president was wrong by, being critical of, Brian is was and basically saying. Certainly hinting. That LeBron is dumb that's there. There's there's no proof to that if you believe that, that I can't change your beliefs but you have no proof that that's the case The, Brian, James gave of his time is money is effort I think it's hard to know right. Place I'm, glad? To hear that in Milwaukee got? Players they're, giving back and doing the right things going to school in. Talking to the kids to try and make their? Lives better to appreciate the Milwaukee share Joe from South Carolina's up on CBS sports radio joke hey buddy oh my gosh I I always get. A cocktail. Listening to some of the callers call into. Your station tonight I mean what what is LeBron needs to do I, mean he's been in the spotlight since he was in high school what, are the most, popular players of all time the. Only bad. Thing you can even say that. It isn't even that bad was decision when he made, that mistake to do that live for that's it This has the most wonderful things for the kids community in Akron in Ohio incredible player incredible person I don't understand this hatred LeBron that. Comes from. From, nowhere. I don't understand, what, this guy needs to do he built the school for tipping need it to say that. Oh he's, doing? It for political reasons because he. Wants people, to like alaikum it's just lunacy I don't understand what this. Could tell them listen to LeBron speak he's a? Genius he's a genius not just out of basketball court but as a person to and I just feel kinda source I know he doesn't care. What but but i feel bad for the guy what does it need to do i don't get it i don't think it's lebron hate and by the way there's a lot of lebron out there but i think most of that is tied to the conversation of who's the greatest player of all time and trump play right into it with the last line of his tweet with i like mike basically saying that this is a michael jordan lebron james thing i really don't think that that's the case here at least when my callers i think it's just the fact that i'm questioning the president and the accuracy invalidity of his tweet there's some people that just defend the president at all costs and the president can do wrong and anyone who questions the president is either wrong politically motivated and or fake news that's the there is a segment of our population some of which picked up the phone and called me today and i think that's their motivating factor in calling just the fact that i'd said i think the president was wrong to take the shot that he did Lebron james Brian thing I think you'd say Trump. Defense, thing yeah I don't know if you, knew this but the president likes. This channel Fox News And a few months ago what, commentators Laura Ingraham she talked about Kevin. Durant, LeBron James after their conversation the taxi, and she said just shut up. And dribble Yeah Thank. God they decide not to shut up in triple and do great things the community because if not then? Who Good that's why I'm giving LeBron credit for the time effort money that. He's put into his hometown, of Akron yet, I was a pretty shortsighted that, was worse than what Donald Trump said as. A matter of fact in my opinion join amac Kellyanne CBS sports radio full half hour calls top of the hour, we're gonna talk to Sean Roman contributor for Forbes and Crain's magazine, about all legal matters in sports and the like we'll get his take on. "To figure out if lebron james is still underpaid we called up one of the economists from that original report victor matheson from holy cross university he happened to be on vacation at the time in mexico i am in cancun i'm sitting at a pina colada by the pool under a palm tree no less i could touch the palm tree if i sat up from my lounge chair well don't do that don't strain yourself just lounge and we'll ask you about lebron james is lebron james still underpaid his salary's gone way up probably still underpaid lebron continues to get hosed even with a monster deal from the lakers because being the world's greatest basketball player means being responsible for a huge economic ripple effect think of ticket prices says victor for example in cleveland average attendance cleveland's went up in the game and of course places for the picket lay more than that we have seen some evidence that the very top stars might be making even at the nba maximum salaries still might be underpaid by twenty thirty fifty percents that means lebron james may still be underpaid by around twenty million dollars that's what i got my my peak it's out so i got i gotta get outta here thanks so much sure thing by for a second opinion on this we call it up brian windhorst from espn he's kind of the lebron james guy over at espn i sometimes in healty of making things too complex so we don't be afraid say hey you're not talking to nba board of governors here luckily brian says this is not complex he is still underpaid and yes because five six years ago the nba was bringing in about seven or eight hundred million dollars per year in television money from their broadcast partners turn on espn that number is now closer to two point four billion the tv money has tripled per year wow lebron james salary has only a little over doubled and of course a big reason tv money is up is because of lebron james brian says that if lebron salary was not tied up in all those nba restrictions and if teams were able to pay him whatever they wanted my guess is that a team in a very large market would probably offer lebron a deal approaching one hundred million dollars a year instead lebron will have to make do with that thirty six million dollar salary oh and by the way lebron is also getting hit by moving to california a state with the highest income tax and much higher cost of living than ohio so looks like poor lebron james just cannot catch a break
