"You listen, and we're back here on the rich eisen show called American murderers, the name of the movie, and we're back here on our terrestrial radio affiliates. Ryan Phillippe is here in studio. He plays the special agent trying to put the aforementioned American murderer behind bars, played by Tom helfer who, whose fans have Ozark will know his work. He's such a good actor. That was my only thing that I was upset about. I don't have any scenes with him because I never catch him, you know, because Jason Derek Brown is still at large. He's still out there somewhere. Right now. Yeah. Damn. Yeah, and there's theories that he might be in Australia or Mexico, but we're thinking that if enough people see this movie and it starts conversation, maybe it brings them to justice. And again, that is, in theaters today, available on digital and on demand starting next Friday here on the rich eisen show Ryan Phillippe. So we'll talk a little bit more about this and your other projects in a moment. But the projects I'm sure you also would like to talk about are named the eagles and the Phillies. Yes, sir. Let's talk about the eagles first up. You're wearing an eagles hat right now. I am, I'm chilling. It's a biweek, you know, no stress. Three scary things about the eagles, I think. Okay. We still haven't played our best game. Howie roseman's gonna make a move before the trade deadline to bolster the D line. And if we come up short this season, we have two first round picks next year, one could be a top ten. I'm thinking dynasty. I like you using the dynasty word, the D word, which the gentleman behind you would say stands for Dallas. But I think the aspect about what you just laid out in the draft picks, Ryan, the neat part about it for you, and I think, is that all of these draft choices, whether they were this year or next year, the stockpiling of them has always been mentioned as well. Just in case Jalen hurts doesn't work out. Right. They can go and use those picks and get some kid out of college. I think that's to bed. I think that has been put to bed. I think so too. And that this is Jalen hurts is gig. He is a rockstar in this league. And the first 6 games prove that, I just saw today and everyone should seek it out as well. I guess NFL films had him they captured his speech to the team after they won against Dallas on Sunday Night. This guy's a leader. This is his team. Absolutely. And he continues to develop like other unlike other players that sometimes plateau or you hear their uncoachable. He's the opposite. His dad was a coach. He wants to improve. I think he's not satisfied with where he's at even now, even though he's made a improved leaps and bounds from last year, but I believe and he's such a guy of character too, man. He says the right things. He does the right things. You can tell the guys are behind and believe in him. It's exciting. Yeah, I just want to talk about his record because nobody didn't want to talk about it when they were two and 5. I want to talk about their 6 and no. He does say the right things. But again, even going into this season, I was talking about how the eagles are going to win this division, and I liked it. And I thought Jalen hurts was their guy for the future. And I know that there are sports talk radio folks in Philadelphia who like it only when it's something for them to get upset about. I got a lot of grief back on the old twitterverse for folks in Philadelphia saying you didn't watch the end of last season. You didn't see how dreadful the end of the season was, you know, and you only saw that playoff game at the end and so on and so forth. I just think you got the right guy. That's the first 6 games has proved it. And I would say Howie roseman. He did an amazing job. One of the best off seasons in our team history before the season started, I didn't expect 6 O, but I looked at this roster top to bottom and they didn't have the typical holes that eagle teams in the past have had glaringly wide receivers been an issue for us. We haven't had solid linebackers since I don't know when. The secondary now with Chauncey Gardner Johnson and getting James Bradbury, how the hell the Giants let him walk. I don't understand. Was that a cat thing, Chris? Right now. It's an amazing him and sleigh. Yeah, and so looking at the roster before the season started, I could find no issues. I was excited for each dude at each position. And that's a rare thing for any team, but particularly for the eagle. So then where's the trapdoor? What do you think? Our biggest opponent is health, really. I mean, I know the niners have taken a step up, getting CMC and great move for them. They bring an area guy back home. They're going to sell a ton of jerseys. But I think that we match up with anybody in the NFC. I'm not afraid. Health is our only opponent. What about the health of dac now though? I mean, I mean, we'll see his first game. That's Christmas. It is. It'll be a hell of a gift to win, beat them twice. Go to your right or other. No, here's my thing. Dak, obviously amazing, talented player. His first game this season before he got hurt, granted it's week one, didn't look great. I mean, you know, we'll see what issues they have once he comes back or whether or not they don't, but you know, they're obviously going to challenge. Yeah. Right. And I guess you've got Minnesota at 5 and one. You saw them in week two and you dispatched them. Is there only loss of the season so far? And Brady just so there are three and three. And Green Bay sitting there at three and three, neither of them look like they can currently right now compete with a team that can put points up on the board running the ball like the eagles can. And then defending. I know you were singing the praises of Jordan Davis as you sat down in the chair during commercial break. He is a grown ass man. One of the largest human beings I've ever seen in person in my life. And you saw him win. He made lane Johnson look small. Just saying a lot. I saw him in Philly after the Jags game. We went to the friends and family area. The eagles are so good to me. They take such good care of me. When I go to games and stuff like that. Did you just go on the road with them? I did, man. Basically becoming an eagle's groupie in my spare time. So I went to Arizona with, I would say 30,000 other eagle fans, which by the way, this is not a trip down the turnpike to D.C.. This is a dedicated Delaware water gap in Arizona. You're

"Philadelphia. Okay. You didn't stutter? Go for it. What did you see? What did you say? Well, like some teams rich or big and strong, some teams are fast and athletic. Philadelphia's big, strong, fast and athletic. It's a real problem. When you game plan, like as a coach, you game plan for a defense, right? You're always looking at, hey, who can hurt us as a defensive lineman? How are we going to mitigate that particular individual? You line up against the San Francisco forty-niners. Nick Bosa, okay, how are we going to stop Nick Bosa? That's a problem over there, right? So we've got to figure that out. You look at you look at Philadelphia. They have those guys. Bunch of costs of problem. Jay von hargrave. That's an issue. He's a tough guy to defend. Hassan Reddick when he decides that he's not going to play linebacker, but the end. That's an issue. Brandon Graham's come back from Michigan. You're Alma mater due to not a good football player at 13 years. He's a great football player. Still coming off. So that's an issue. And then the other thing you look at is outside. Who can we attack corner wise? Well, I would argue with you right now that the tandem, the two best corners in football as a tandem, are Darius slay and James Bradbury, like those guys are legit. So there's no real weaknesses there with that defense. And offensively, they can, I mean, what kind of game do you want to get into for when it comes to running the football? Do you want us to bludgeon you? Because we're big and strong, we can bludgeon you. Or do you want us to outmaneuver you and get to the edge? Because we're super fast and athletic as well. Like that's a real problem. So they present those problems the one question mark was their quarterback. Well, talking to Nick sirianni, their head coach. I said, well, what's Jalen hurts? What's the ceiling? Because Mark, I don't know. I don't know what his ceiling is because every day he comes in and every day he gets better than the last day. The dude is like a CEO. He's like a complete businessman. He can't even get him to crack a smile on a meeting. That guy is so focused. I just think there are really a really good football team. Mark sloth, before I let you go, man. Again, you're three time champ. Know the Denver sports scene in the Bronco scene very well. I know the front office, no up until recently. I guess ownership pretty well as well. Crystal bullet for me. I know that's a cliche. You don't have a crystal ball, but Denver has another game stand-alone game, whole country watching, Monday Night Football, next week. At the Chargers. And then home dates, two home dates against the jets and the Jaguars. One would think quote unquote, winnable games, but you've got the jets you've got and then Jacksonville is going to be another game that's in London. So another stand-alone game, my bad. So you got the jets and then a London game and then a buy. Then you got the rest of the season. What do you think is going to happen? Give me your best guess as to what can happen for the Chargers this year. What do you think? Yeah. Well, I mean, the Broncos this year. Yeah. No, I knew what you were saying. Yeah, my bed. I think right now, you got this, you mentioned it Monday night. If things don't look markedly better Monday night, I don't know. I really don't know what's going to happen. I mean, they have the guy they wanted to Billy Turner at the right tackle. He has not even played this year. You've got to back up right tackle. Now you're bowls who's your left tackle is out with a broken leg. So you're going to have a backup left tackle. You haven't blocked people. Melvin Gordon puts the ball on the ground more than grass. You don't trust him. You lost javonte Williams. You haven't developed chemistry with any of your wide receivers other than cortland Sutton. You don't have a tight end who is got a dual threat personality. So you've got two you've got a couple of guys that can run block. You got a couple of guys that are pass receivers. So they're automatic tails, rich I don't like right now, I don't see an end in sight. Those are real issues that you don't figure out because you change the play caller or you have a couple of new designs. Like those are real issues that I don't I just don't see them fixing. And let me just tell you, you think the jets are a winnable game. They're playing better, and I tell you one thing, Jacksonville is one of those teams, and I don't think a lot of people want to play. That's a physical football team. So they're in trouble right now. Things don't dramatically get better. I don't see how they will. They're in trouble. Especially in London, I've called Jacksonville games in London. That's a home game for the Jaguars. It is. It's in Wembley. The owner owns the stadium. I mean, it really does bode poorly. And I just said the jets one would think is a winnable game. I think the Jets have a better offense than Denver's right now. Period. They have better playmakers right now, making better plays. And I never thought I would say that about Russell Wilson in an offense. But again, just two touchdowns through the first three home games for Broncos fans to see just two, and only one of them is in the air. One of them is on the ground, and so I don't know. And we'll find out I guess if the Walton family has got an itchy firing trigger. I don't know. They could have scored so far this season in the red zone 98 points. I think they've scored just over 30. Wow. That's where they are right now. And I would tell you this, if you said, hey man, I'll trade you all the Broncos receivers straight up for all the jets receivers. I couldn't line up quick enough to make that trade. Marcus Lara, thanks to the time, look forward to your call with the Vikings and bears and look for more of my phone calls always appreciate it when you're on the show, brother.

"It's like Harry Carson or something ridiculous. I think it's Harry Carson or it was either Harry Carson or was it Carl banks, one of those banks, yes, sorry. Was it Carl banks? It might not have been. No, you might be right. But I think it was either Carl banks or Harry Harry Carson. Well, Carl banks was picked third overall. Wow. And Harry Carson was. A fourth round pick. Okay, so it was Carl banks. Yeah. But so everyone's like, oh, well, the Giants don't do this for the Giants don't do this. Here's what you should keep in mind for this draft if you're a Giants fan. The Giants are going to do a lot of things that they haven't ever done before. And I think one of the reasons why they did what they did was that someone finally came in there during the GM process hiring process. Maybe multiple people and said, this thing is hot garbage. You have to melt it down. And Dave gettleman did not say that after Jerry Reese kind of mucked it up a little bit. And no one wanted to tell, I think the mirrors and tissues that like, hey, this is bad. And so I think they're going to need a lot of things. And so giants fence for some reason always seemed to find me and be like, well, this isn't what we do. We're the Giants, and we do this. And well, you're going to do a lot of things this year in the draft that you haven't done before, including maybe draft some good players. So, yep. Yep, I think Joe Shane probably has a little more say on that than the, I don't know, historical legacy of the Giants at this point. But if you are looking at this, I mean, sauce gardener sort of top guy left her on board, also trevon walker, and then Jermaine Johnson, if you're going sort of a pure edge burner type. If you're, if you're the Giants, I would say, if you're even remotely planning on, well, so you went out and you got Wink Martindale, this off season, right? Yep. And do you get Wink Martindale because you like Wink Martindale? And you think and you don't want to pressure your defense, but you just like Wink Martindale, or did you get Wink Martindale because you want to press your defense? You know what I'm saying? And so I think it's going to be interesting. But I mean, I think James Bradbury, they're going to trade him at some point or they're trying to get rid of they're trying to take care of that. Whole situation. I think if you're going to even remotely consider a pressure defense, which you might because you're dead on the edges. You don't have any edge presence right now. Then maybe you go sauce gardener because it's like, okay, at some point I can lock down one side of the field, or at least I would like to think that's the idea of it, right? I mean, the ravens always needed those tight cornerbacks, you know?.

"They're allowing a lot of production to opposing passing games and that run defense that has been so dynamite is missing its most important piece. Those tackle Vita veya. So I think the Giants can score and keep this close and add to that total. So I like the two legs, 6 point teaser giants up to 17 and the total down to 43 and a half. Let's get into the prop market here. I'll go ahead and go first. I know that's gonna take a lot shorter than yours will. Anita, the one that stands out most to me is Chris Godwin. Godwin, his reception total is 6 and a half that's plus one 15. The yard is total for Godwin is 70 and a half. That's minus one 15. I'm going to play both of those over for Chris Godwin, who has 7 or more catches in four of his last 5 games. He has been a little banged up as of late, but got through practice cleanly this week wasn't on the injury report. He's Tom Brady's safety blanket in the slot with no Antonio Brown. We know the target share is going to be concentrated to Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and, you know, guys like Rob Gronkowski and Leonard fournette might steal a few here or there. But the bulk of the passing is going to go to Godwin and or Mike Evans. And Godwin has the much much easier matchup. Mike Evans will be matched up with James Bradbury who is similar in stature and Bill. He's a big body cornerback who likes to play wide receivers that have the skill set and the frame of a Mike Evans. Meanwhile, Chris Godwin is going to be operating in the slot where Logan Ryan should be the Logan Ryan is out due to COVID and he's kind of their best slot cornerback. So Godwin's gonna have an easier matchup. He's healthier than he's been in a while. That's the soft spot in New York's secondary due to injury. So that's kind of how I'm looking at the prop market here. I would dabble as well. We'll see what's safe once props are. I haven't seen them posted yet anywhere, but I'm interested to hear what you think his workload might be. I mean, if we can attack his prop market without Vida veya, and a Tampa Bay defense that I believe has allowed something like the second third or fourth most receptions to opposing running backs in the NFL this season. So definitely high on Godwin. I'm waiting to see what happens with saquon. There's a few other that I might dabble with, but I know you've got a lot of need of so I will sit back relax and let you take over the show here. All right, let's start. Let's start with the Giants. Daniel Jones over 243 and a half passing yards. He went over 243, the start of the season when he did have a healthy roster, let alone wide receiving core. Granted no Sterling shepherd, but he's going to have enough weapons to work with. And as we know, teams are averaging 39 almost 40 passing attempts a game against the Tampa Bay Bucs because you have to. It's very difficult to run on them. So forth most passing attempts against them each and every week. So I do believe that we're going to get a lot of volume from Daniel Jones, toss in The Rock later on tonight. So who's he going toss it to? I'm hearing that kateri is Tony, has had an exceptional week at practice. I hear he looks great. I'm going over 42 and a half receiving yards for him also over four and a half receptions. You can get that at plus money at plus one 30. I do like that. The games when he has played where he has been healthy. He's averaging 9 to 13 targets a game, keep in mind no Sterling shepherd. So I think we're going to see him play a lot out of the slot tonight as well, which I think could be a huge advantage for him. The Buccaneers are getting 22 targets per game to opposing wide receivers. It's 5th most 5th most. The catch rate they're allowing is almost 65% yards per target is 8 yards per target and they're 13th and touchdown rate. So there's a lot of opportunity there. And like I said, I do believe the Giants are going to stay close and keep within the 11 points to cover. They're going to have to pass the ball. Say Quan Barkley, the numbers aren't out yet, but I'm going under here. One thing that we know is that the giants, they like they handle Barkley with kid gloves. And I think they have to. He's got a contract deal coming up. They don't know what they're going to do. Are they going to do they tag him? Do they offer him a new deal? He was first round draft pick. There's a lot that they have to really deal with. So again, they handle him with kid gloves. When he first came back after his injury, he only got ten carries and throughout the season, he hasn't had more than 13 carries a game. And that was only once this season. So I think his usage is not going to be a lot of volume. Also, they have Devante Booker back there who we know, the team really likes a lot. I don't think that he's going to go away. I think it'll be utilizing the backfield tonight as well. And as we know, the Tampa Bay box are really good against the run. We'll see how good they are without Vida veya, but I still think that they are going to be good. They've only allowed 3.5 yards per carry. So again, those numbers aren't out yet, but if they're anything significant, I'll give you a number. So if it comes out saquon Barkley over under 50 rushing yards, I'm gonna go under. If it's a single market over under ten and a half carries, I'm going under. So those are like my marks in regards to where I'm going under and regard to the box. I think Leonard fournette has a monster night. I'm going over 95 and a half rushing and receiving yards. He's handled over 90% of the backfield touches. He's been utilized in the passing game. The Giants are allowing 4.6 yards to backs and also backs their averaging 6 targets in the passing game against them, which is not good. Antonio Brown is still out if and only if Scotty Miller is out as well and he does not come off of IR, look for the prop bets on Tyler Johnson and I like the ovaries in those without AB without Scotty Miller, he's averaging 5 targets a game. So if it's ty Johnson over two and a half receptions or over three and a half receptions, I'm going to take the over on that. Tom Brady really likes him a lot and he's getting a lot of opportunity without AB, but again, play that only of Scotty Miller is still on IR and last but not least, Ryan suck up. I'm going over 7 and a half points. As I said before, earlier in the podcast, the last three weeks, the Giants have only allowed three touchdowns in 13 red zone trips. Their defense is playing a lot better than what most people think, I think Tampa Bay is going to kick more field goals than what most people expect. Last but not least, anytime touchdown for net minus one 45, I know it's a lot of juice, but I do believe more than anyone else he finds the end zone tonight, Gronk plus one 80..

"Review. If you are a joy of the podcast and you'd like to help us give some positive feedback. So as i said guys today. Break down the falcons. That game is going to be one o'clock on sunday. It was gonna be at metlife stadium. And i don't wanna get too ahead of ourselves here but i think most people who've been watching any of these falcons games or just seen glimpses of them or even just seeing the scores. The box scores. This might be the best opportunity for the giants to get their first win of the year. Again try not to get too ahead of ourselves diving right into the offense though guys this. This team has seriously struggled in the first two weeks once against the philadelphia eagles which aren't necessarily the most explosive team and then the other game against the tampa bay buccaneers. They did not look very good at all so both of these games. We've seen some serious offensive issues. What do you guys think is one of the biggest problems that this falcons team deals with. I would say part of it is just finding traction under their new coaching staff adjusting to not having julio jones on offense their defensive problems. Go back a long ways. All you know like the the eagles game. I think pretty much. Everyone was surprised at how well the eagles played that week. I'm not sure anyone was surprised that the book and years played as well as they did last week. This falcon siemian. We noted in our pre are off season preview of the team. They have problems. They've got players on both sides of the ball but they've also got a lot of holes i don't i don't think the the falcons really know their offense of identity yet. And they haven't necessarily had an opportunity to establish their offense of identity. We know arthur smith comes over from tennessee. We know he likes to he liked with derrick henry. Of course personnels. Different with. Mike davis in court barrel frigging patterson which is insane. He like to run the football and then build that a bill. The with wide zone stretches own inside zone type of runs and build the play action. Rollout game off at matt ryan's not that type of quarterback he's not as athletic as ryan tannehill is but they haven't even really been able to do that because they've gotten themselves into a position offensively where they kind of just had to throw the football and abandoned the running game because philadelphia took their defense to task. And that we saw. Tom brady did in the first half. And that game ended up being somewhat competitive down the stretch until matt ryan through to pick sixes. But i know a lot of people who watch that film intently. The all twenty two version of it. They said my ryan played really well and he was a competitor but he just forced a couple balls late in a game. That really makes the box score. Look worse than it actually was. I don't really want to write matt ryan off. I think he gained probably get the most out of kyle pits in this game. And cockpits could be in for breakout type of affair against the giants. Calvin ridley's very very good cornerback. James bradbury is going to have his hands full with. But i dunno chris. Do you think. Because i kind of think this washington's offense of line was really really good against the giants four-man man pressure package. I think this offensive line with kayla. Mcgarry as you're right tackle and the interior office of line which is solid at best. Maybe even adequate with With jalen mayfield. And and matt hennessy. Starting i think the giants can really put some pressure on matt ryan in this game at metlife stadium. How do you feel though. Yeah i feel the same way I think we'll probably see atlanta bust out a lot of brealey. Quick tempo type offense. I think they're already one of the fastest offenses in the nfl. and i. i think we'll see more of that. Know a lot of quick timing passes Many quite a few swing passes you mentioned critter. Patterson he actually kind of jumped off the tape to me against tampa bay as a guy who could be an issue. You don't expect a guy like that switching from wide receiver to running back to be a big threat but as a i almost don't even think of him as a running back almost like you know. Go back back. In the day they had the slot back in like what was the flex bone formation. Something like that. He is almost halfway between a slot receiver in a running back. And i could see them making use of him to kind of sneak in behind the linebackers in front of the defensive backs and picking up quick easy yards. That way you mentioned calvin ridley. He is good receiver. He could be a problem for the giant secondary but overall this is a game where the giants defense should be able to control the flow in pace of the game. The only question is will they especially especially on that short week as well and it's also funny too because we talk a lot about cordeiro patterson and rightfully so he's he's a dangerous target out of the backfield and they're using on like a gap runs and stuff like that. But mike davis is their primary back. And mike davis. We saw what he did with carolina last year. He's also someone who had seven targets against the buccaneers in six in the previous week against the eagles. He's going to be heavily involved as well in the passing attack towards the flat. So it's gonna be on these giants defenders when they are in those in the cover to shell those quarterbacks to really kind of look out. We don't want the giants defense to get nickeled dime to the flat by these running backs. Who could make men missing space. No not at all. And the falcons do seem to be using the quick passes to mike davis to patterson Some of their receivers as almost a substitute for their running game particularly as they start to fall behind You mentioned how the box score against tampa bay looked worse than the game did. And there was a point you just before the artistic the star of the fourth quarter when it was a three point game atlanta had scored two touchdowns pretty quick matt ryan ran in a two point conversion. Which when's the last time we saw matt ryan run anything anywhere and it looked like tampa was. I'm sorry looked like atlanta was going to make a game out of it and maybe even come up with the upset that you of course you had the two turnovers and that was really all there was to know. Team can overcome to pick sixes especially in the fourth quarter. If they could avoid mistakes they do still have offensive firepower. And if the giants don't win the line of scrimmage if they don't pressure matt ryan into making those mistakes they they can't be ignored. And i think another thing that really sticks out with the issues here going on in atlanta..

"It's about how you play your hand like that. You're on point with everything you're saying bucky. Here's the thing. I don't know that any team will have a better hand. If you will in the nfc than the rams note team has a defensive lineman mvp in the nfc remember mvp's defensively last year myles garrett was first with it your boy. Tj was flirting with it but in the nfc. Nobody touched aaron. Donald in the nfc. When you're talking about quarterbacks. I ain't nobody really touching ramsey now my dog ear alexander dog for the packers he had dog. But when you really talking about davis white for bills when you're talking about my do for the dolphins name my mind just got paid not byron. Joe ira howard dog but in the nfc. I do think the rams are going to be able to roll up against any opponent and have a better roster than just about every opponent except for the bucks so again if they're the most talented team except for the bucks in the nfc. I think they can just keep up. Big joker give me that. I need that okay. Put the car down. Give me rested. Long book lay down. Oh no i'll tell you. Gotta be high at the wichita monkeys white linen boy. Ready to stop playing. What about james. What about james. Bradbury the corner but for the giants okay. What about channel. Jones jones looking so donald. He's of all active players star. Own elizabeth do now beyond the do dude. But you know respect what you say but you lied. Also out you south. I heard you say this. Don't bookie bucket when you get it to the bucket. I like what you did. I'm a very happy..

"I am the host of this show. Nicholas falana when football is back. Baby we just had week one action. Watch the rams take on. The bears rammed look really really good with matt stafford. That game just ended. But i i want to touch on the new york giants just abysmal. Twenty seven thirteen loss at home to the denver broncos at team that was five and eleven last year and i get it teddy. Bridgewater is their quarterback. And maybe i won't spend too much time on this game. Just because i will be talking about it on the chris joe show as well. 'cause this podcast is more about just brief happenings of everything else. That's going on in the league but this was a dismal dismal. Look for the giants team. In general the offense looked unimaginative again of just kind of resembled the twenty twenty thirty first ranked offense in yards and scoring which was also put on display by basically the giants only putting seven points up throughout the game. A garbage time rushing touchdown by daniel jones at the end made the game twenty seven thirteen. But it wasn't competitive for much of the game. At least i didn't feel competitive. Despite the fact that it was a one score affair up through the third quarter about midway through the third quarter. But the broncos may a lot of offense mistakes and the giants defense was opportunistic. Punching the football out of alberto's hand was great. Play by logan ryan happened in the red zone. But the broncos also dropping deep post touchdown blown coverage by dorie jackson k. J. hammer has to hang onto that. And you kinda knew. The bottom of the ship was just going to fall out because the giants just did not show up today. Like the denver. Broncos did the giants on third down while on defense. We're getting picked apart. And when they did come up with stops they allowed fourth down. Conversions credited vic fangio when his coaching staff were being very very aggressive against the new york giants and picking up those fourth downs credit. The teddy bridgewater and pat shurmur as well. I thought bridgewater found a very very good rhythm against this giants team. The patrick ram defense. We've been talking about it. All off season their ability to possibly play man coverage at an extensive rate in twenty twenty one. Now they attempted this against the broncos against quarterback teddy bridgewater who is in padma. Holmes isn't justin herber. He is a solid respectable. Nfl quarterback but he picked apart the giants man coverage. James bradbury was caught chasing jerry. Judy was caught chasing cortlandt sutton. So it was a dory jackson. These tight ends noah fan and alberto big alberto albert oak way. Benham they destroyed these giant safeties in man coverage and it wasn't necessarily because the coverage was terrible was just the timing and the rhythm of the quick passing game. Pat shurmur in teddy bridgewater was so on point and the secondary couldn't cover long enough to allow the pass rush to get in and the pass rush wasn't getting in quick enough to mask the secondary's deficiencies so the defense. The fact that they played just an astronomical amount of snaps sixty six snaps and it was like sixty two up until a competitive point in the game. When that melvin gordon seventy yard touchdown rush transpired. And then after that. The broncos took their foot off the pedal on the giants got about ninety five yards on those last two drives of just absolute garbage to make the four hundred twenty two three fourteen disparity look a bit more respectable but it really wasn't denver possess the ball for the majority of the game thirty five minutes to twenty four fifty two but again a lot of that came in the fourth quarter for the new york. Giants offense snoop giants offense couldn't sustain drives again. They got bottled down. They hit a big forty two yard. Catch daria slayton on the opening drive and then at an end around the cadavers. Tony go nowhere. Halfback draw get stuffed at an incomplete pass that forced a punt after a huge explosive game. Now the offensive line. It couldn't generate any push at the point of attack. It was an issue for the giants in this game. Something that we didn't necessarily think was going to be the issue with this offensive line. We speculated that the issue was going to be pass protection now. The broncos had to saxons game both by von miller. One against nate solder where von miller is used to hand punch to bench press nate solder to the outside to get an inside rush on daniel jones to get that sack and then the other one was matt paired to not even get out of the stance and von miller got probably one of the easiest sacks of his career by cornering into the cornerback with nobody impeding his way because parents here the snap happen now those two sacks hungry but we're going to be positive ben. Br edison played more snaps than chain lemieux and he actually looked pretty competent. Out there from everything that i saw. Now i do not have access to all twenty two as of right now and hope to get it soon though be clips on the site. If that's the case and andrew thomas now he wasn't gonna begin bradley job enter. Thomas also looked respectable in this game. It seemed like he was getting debt into sets and it also seemed now. Guinness is an all twenty two but it seemed like was square to his target. His feet and his hands were working in unison and he was playing with confidence little things that we saw down the stretch of last season. That were kind of coming up in this game against me. A solid pass rusher about thirty six pressures last year but no bradley shop. So i think that's important to know as well but again for just going to give an overall synopsis on this game. The defense was underwhelming. Did not live up to the hype that we expected coming out of twenty twenty but then again they were probably fatigued a lot down the stretch but just not being able to get off the field on third and fourth down killed that defense. Offense did not see the field nearly enough because the defense couldn't stop the broncos offense and because they can't sustain their own drives because they're an inefficient unit at thought. Daniel jones was solid in this game. I thought he had a couple impressive. Throws i think the third mate play where he identified the matchup of sterling shepherd against josie jewel and then fired to convert for a first down. That was a solid play. I think her predispo- snap. He had a couple of plays where. You're like okay. He's getting it. he's putting it together. But the frustrating thing about daniel jones roller coaster of daniel jones. The highs are not as high as they should be in. The lows are lower than they have to be and we also saw that happen when daniel jones just locks on targets. He didn't throw interception his game but he easily could have thrown to that one play in the red zone where he locked onto saquon barkley coming out of the backfield on a wheel route route. I love i love the concept it draws coverage to saquon barkley hopefully opening up cupboard underneath to the other receivers possibly the tight end..

"They won't get put jerry. Judy and your lineup for awhile jacksonville. Next week and then the jets the jets along the jets. It's not a bad game. But i mean. Are you feeling pretty. Good about portland sutton right. Now i'm feeling good about caja handler. Who we had a debate about whether or not he should have caught that deep ball for a touchdown about that. We had a debate about it because it look like like. He had to adjust to the throw. He should are you kidding me. He should have caught it. Yes fifty yards feeling. Good about portland's sutton because judy's out. Sorry i hate to frame it that way but are you know. His stock is right k. J. gambler and tim patrick got more targets than portland. Sutton in this game. I would like to see if james bradbury was was shadowing sutton. I think he may have been. I don't know. But that is one thing i would just say a guy coming back from that injury that puts up one catch for fourteen yards on three targets in the opener. I'm i don't feel. I feel worse about him. Okay young with a review of the film this week. Josh jacobs is questionable. For tomorrow night's game with an illness so if he's if he's out would you start tyson williams or kenyan drake williams over drake probably for maybe williams and non drake. Npr jets left. Tackle mikhail becton left in the third quarter. It looks like a sprained mc l. For becton cleveland left tackle. Jack wills was carted off the field. I did not see an update on that. But that's those are two second year ascending players that stuff ryan fitzpatrick left in the first half with a hip injury. So we'll see. It's a partially dislocated hip. So what is the timeline for that. I do not know a timeline. But i'm almost certainly can't come back from that in time for a week to thursday along. Oh my gosh yeah. Yeah he's going to be out for a while. All right taylor. Heineke thursday against the giants. Michael gallup could miss three to five games with a calf injury. Detroit left tackle taylor. Ira he about a month. They obviously don't need them. They obviously don't and dallas right. Tackle collins suspended five games but he thinks he has a chance to win an appeal. But you know you don't like to see that and all right. We'll keep an eye on the lion situation. Let's let's let's get negatives let's get negative here. The mega done. We're going to get positive. Let's go yeah. I didn't name the guys the guys who did bad this week. Yes some of them. All right we're gonna make every. I will find a way to say nice about every single one of these players. There were enough negative players that we should not have players who scored ten or eleven. Pbr points on this list. So high brennan doing absolutely nothing. Aaron jones with like. I'm going with first round picks here i'm going with first thing with all the terrible mega dad's you should not be putting dare can raise name on it..

"To you on wednesday august twenty fifth after the first day of giants patriots joint practices in foxborough. Massachusetts was a sweltering hot day in foxborough as the giants and the patriots practiced for more than two hours in a practice. That saw a lot of eleven on eleven and seven on seven work really good work for both teams The big big news of the day was of course that giants cornerback. Dorie jackson signed to a three year. Thirty nine million dollar contract during the off season to Occupy the corner opposite. James bradbury for the giants left practice with a left ankle injury. Severity of that injury is unknown. I know further tests are going to be performed the reports that i've seen an heard indicate that the giants think that jackson will be back for the season opener against the denver broncos on september twelfth almost three weeks away. But we don't know how these things go. you know. Injuries are weird. I mean when. Kenny golladay got hurt at the beginning of august. They told us that That it wouldn't be long that it was a mild hamstring strain in that he'd be back soon and here. We are near. The end of august in golladay hasn't practiced yet so it's a concerning injury for the giants who who sang jackson for a reason they signed him. Because the cornerback situation opposite. James bradberry wasn't good last year. The giants went through corey ballantyne. They went through isaac yada them. They used julian. Lov the also used ryan lewis at at at points last year and none of those guys really proved one hundred percent satisfactory as starting cornerbacks opposite bradberry. Giants played far more zone a year ago because of that then they wanted to and and jackson's presence is expected to allow them to play a lot more man to man to be a lot more aggressive in the secondary so hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later. Hopefully that injury is not incredibly serious soup but we will have to see that injury did point out something that we've been looking at with the giants and that is that in truth. The cornerback depth. Really isn't there for the giants right now beyond bradberry jackson and starting slot. Cornerback darnay homes. You really don't have a whole heck of a lot at the moment you've got sixth round. Pick row derrius williams. Who's had a good training camp. A good preseason looks like a guy who could be a player at for the giants. But you don't really don't wanna put a heavy heavy starting load on his plate right away week one of his rookie season. He is a sixth round. Pick he does have a lot to learn. He competes he tackles. He plays hard. He can play outside. He can play the slot. He's shown a little bit of versatility to play safety but he's also given up his fair share completions throughout camp and the preseason still has a lot to learn still has a lot to adjust to as an nfl player and putting him out there for a heavy load of snaps during a regular season. Game is probably not a recipe for success beyond that. The giants traded a week. Gopher to corners. Josh jackson from the green bay packers in a trade for isaac bottom and kion cross in from the houston texans. We still really don't know a whole lot about those two players. we didn't see them in the cleveland. Browns preseason game really haven't seen them on the practice field at least as part of the defense to this point so not really sure if the giants expect those guys to be able to help. Rookie cornerback. aaron robinson remains on the pup list hasn't practiced beyond them. You have madre harper in sam bill and neither of those guys has really been impressive throughout training camp. Neither of those guys who are really expected to make the fifty three man roster in a week so unfortunately the jackson injury has pointed out that the giants really really need cornerback. Help with that in mind. Nick philosophy of big blue view took a look on wednesday at some cornerbacks that the giants could look at to supplement the position. So please check out biglou view checkout nick's story on on those corners as as we look at the giants and as we look at the way that they try to shape their fifty three man roster here in another week all right the other thing that the jackson injury pointed out. Is that when you look at the giants you have a dory jackson. You have kenny golladay. You have could derrius tony. You have saquon barkley sidelined. Although barclay is expected to practice on thursday wearing a red jersey. But we don't still don't know if barkley will be ready for week one against the broncos you can also throw john ross into that mix you can throw a couple of the rookies aaron robinson who we mentioned already ellison smith in addition to ca- derrius. Tony and what you have here. Kyle rudolph who is just coming back from his foot injury and who practiced for the first time on wednesday. Did some individual drills. Wouldn't commit to being ready for week. One against the against the broncos what you have here with the giants is a situation where all of the players who were added to this roster to upgrade the passing attack to upgrade the for the most part to upgrade the pass rush all of these players are currently unavailable thus when you look at practice on wednesday it shouldn't be any surprise that the giants struggled really to complete passes in anything other than a short area of the field. They did okay in the red zone but they couldn't push the ball down the field. They were also in a practice. Where evan ingram and sterling. Shepard seemed to be having their snaps monitored so they weren't taking a full load of snaps but it's concerning less than three weeks away from the season opener that basically all of the players that the giants counted on to really and truly upgrade this roster are currently own available so daniel jones and company on the offensive side are still working with the same personnel for the most part that finished thirty first in the league offense a year ago so we shouldn't expect miracles when we watch these practices. It is what it is. The giants don't have their full complement of playmakers available. Right now we have to cross our fingers and that those guys will be available for week. One that they'll be available early in the season that they'll get enough practice time in fit. The offense isn't helter skelter and and and you know a mess when the season starts but right now things are a little bit concerning with the giants because so many of the key players they brought in hoping to upgrade this roster for twenty twenty one are currently unavailable. Alright a giants fans. What i wanna do right now is take a short break for a word from our sponsors here at sp nation. When we come back. I will be talking to ryan spag noli of sp. Nations pats pulpit. Who was also at the joint practice on wednesday and we'll chat with ryan and we'll get the new england perspective on what we saw on wednesday morning support for this episode comes from adidas. We all know when you go on your.

"And we'll see what happens. And yes, one more time. I do not need to be impartial, Jerry Hughes. I hope that's not the Jerry used that plays for the book. If he's watching, he can say whatever he wants, I'm honored. This is an opinion based show. This is a take space program. In case you didn't know how podcasts or sports radio works, we come on here and we give our opinions about what we see and what we feel about this team. This is not the 5 o'clock news. So thank you. Can I well it's not 5 o'clock news. It's on at 6 o'clock. Can I give you, all right, you're gonna talk about Nikhil. I'll throw one out here. And I don't entirely know what this player's situation is. Cross Jackson. Is Josh Jackson no, did I get that right? Yeah, Josh Jackson is a corner for the Giants. They just acquired him via trade from the Green Bay. Yeah. Okay. So he had really good college date, more of a guy than a man guy, but yeah, good. But he's a big physical corn. He's like, he looks like the Patriots kind of corner. The Giants don't have tremendous cornerback depth, but I don't think he's a starter. 'cause they have a Dory Jackson who's gonna be ahead of them and James Bradbury should be ahead of him too. I would think. So he, again, I'm looking at this very briefly. I'm obviously not down there, giants, camp every day. Right. He kind of seems like he's in a similar position where Nikhil is now the difference is they just traded for. So they clearly have a purpose for him to kiel once out of New England. I don't know that they'd move him, but I didn't even realize he was on the Giants. I just looked at that. He's a guy I really liked coming out of Iowa. I really thought would be a patriots kind of corner. I know you said he's his own guy, but just the way he manhandles receivers at the lines at the line, you can't help but see patriots. So can you get traded twice the one off season? Weird things have happened. So he went to Iowa, right? So Iowa, second round pick in 2018 the packers. Yeah, no, I appreciate it. Oh, he got traded like a week ago. Yeah. He's really watching his watching his tape. He's probably everything about it. Really good ball Hawkins own coverage, Iowa is a really zone heavy team. A lot of teams in college are really zone heavy. So there's not a whole lot of teams, Bama, Georgia, maybe a couple of teams in the Ohio State region that played true man to man, right? So I don't know. It's not a, it's not exactly a systemic fitness, early, but I love the skill set. It's a stylistic fit. Although I he's traded on August 17th. So that's right. I think that's literally a week ago. A week ago today, so I don't know if he's somebody you can get, but I like him for the Patriots. I do. So we'll see. Okay, I like it. Just look at the Giants roster. Look for other people that the Patriots might be interested in, whether it's the Giants or it's the eagles..

"Team that has the most federal price right. Now is the new york giants and i and i'm glad that you're on. I'm glad you're on board with me. As far as the narratives are concerned. Because i have a question if the eagles don't lay down in the fourth quarter against washington in week seventeen sunday football and the giants get in the playoffs at six and ten as the nfc east champion. What is how you can see teams differently right now. I've done this many times. It's a totally different perspective. You're a one hundred percent right now. Let me just say this. I am not a believer that if jalen hurts stays in the game that's like a guarantee that phillies going to win the game. Washington was really even with hurts in the game. The better team that night now sud fell didn't give them a better chance to win. The game hurts. Gave him a better chance to win. But i still think washington may have won that game in one division. I think the bigger issue you know in terms of last year in the nfc east is. It's a no brainer. That if saquon barkley played last year the giants would have won the division. If dak prescott had been healthy dallas would've won the division going away even with that defense in washington lost to the giants twice last year and they beat the cowboys with dalton and deneuve cheer doodo or whatever the dude's name from james madison was so i do. I agree with you. I think that there would be a much different narrative had they not made the playoffs at seven and nine. Let's just say they went. Seven and nine dallas went nine and seven with prescott And they went to the post season. I think there'd be a completely different perspective now. The defense people were on the defense even before last year began And by the way. I'll take it a step further as far as the playoff game. Even though the truth is the defense got absolutely torched the strength of the team there. Is this perception in this takeaway eric. That washington played the eventual champions. Really tough and it was a competitive game. it was. They didn't get blown out at home to to to brady And the buccaneers but Yeah i agree with you. I think it would i think people would have. I don't right now. I think the giants would be the second pick in the division even by odds makers because i like the giant roster to. I think that they are very capable this year. Yeah there's an. There's an dull ding that good things about washington. I think the defensive line is amazing. I really liked it. William jackson acquisition cameron crowe was awesome last year. I think look at the offense. I'm taking nothing away from terry mclaren. Nothing away from it to get the net and frankly nothing away from ryan fitzpatrick. We've had three s really. Did you go as backup quarterback. The question is is like that's like they're in sort of jv. And the question is kennedy varsity team with with that like kennedy step up in sort of in sort of class and you look at the giants like patrick rams defensive coordinator jibril peppers at an awesome. Your daydream mckinney's in the second year. James bradbury was an amazing and signing for the last year has was like martinez you know. They have leonard williams in the front like defend.

"Anything at all What i heard Was that they were probably looking at a couple of weeks before. He's back out there. On the practice field anticipates he would probably surprising you. Play the preseason But if he could be back on the practical maybe by the time. They're in cleveland for joint practices of the week after new england. But i don't think they're concerned necessarily hamstrings weird you know they linger sometimes and you think you're good and then it comes back and kinda got some hamstring issues in his career. So in that sense you keep in the back of my back from whatever. I don't think the giants are necessarily concerned as right now. So we've obviously covered some of the weird stuff that now nestle all stuff The offensive line kinda conundrum. Some of the negative stuff from the injuries who is looked great so far good so far. What what are some of the standouts that you've seen so far in camp. Say one thing that is clear that the secondary is going to be very good And daft talent at the top. James bradbury has been looking as good as he did last year. Go to some of the athleticism with dory and that you get a little more creative when they have better corner on that side. The safeties are going to be pretty good. I'm a guy that's airing. It's willing to fix on pack Greedy williams brother from brown's and he's played with the first team the last couple of days because the doors were getting rest. He's looked really good So i think the secondary like should be. It's really positive thing. Leonard williams looked pretty dominant spending this offensive line And you know running back. I think corey clemente's has been pretty interesting. I think a lot of these guys that are battling for fourth and fifth. Spot john ross. Ej board David sales like those guys have really stand out. It's gonna be hard for me to cut out of that group so they they have a lot of weapons receiver in their secondary. Is i think those are two of the bigger takeaways. You can have right now. You mentioned corey clement. There is there any update us. Should we be seeing saquon barkley herb hearing his name anytime soon to good question th. They're definitely taking it slow and they keep saying that i think really need it. We see out there the off to the side you know seems to be cutting and moving and jumping pretty well I think it's something like it's been like someone like nine or ten months had injury at this point or close to a year. Actually i guess he got into september so eleven months So i you know at this point. I'd be surprised if he didn't play in week. One but you know we have seen in practice field personnel until he actually out there and he's even a limited practice participant..

"I think the linebacker position in the nfc east is in good hands. Right now with mike. Parsons engine in davis which sucks for the new york giants because the second level defenders who can drop into cupboard and can be effective as blitzer which i believe davis and mike parsons bolt will be. It's going to be annoying for the giants going to be annoying for our protection. Package that consists of an elder statesman. Being will hernandez was twenty. Five years old some manipulation. They're going up against incredible athletes. When it scheme to properly by guys like dan quinn and by guys like jack. Del rio solid defensive coordinators. And i mean. You can't get much worse than worse than what mike nolan was last year. So it's going to be annoying. Let's go onto the cornerbacks now though all right my number one cornerback in this division. Don't believe this is home. Arisen the secondary from the new york giants. Willy billy solid end. James bradbury has a shot. I would say to be considered as a top five cornerback in the national football league last year. now he didn't run too many men coverage assignments. I mean patrick. Ram was much more zone oriented. But you would see him on the backside of through by one sets lined up against true number one type receivers in meg coverage which is man everywhere he goes and he did solid doing and then when they were in zone the giants always roll their safeties tour towards the opposite side of where james bradbury was entrusting james bradberry with that covered so having that stable quarterback one is is very advantageous for defense playcallers. 'cause then you can roll your safety coverage and your other zone coverages towards a bigger liability which giants had last year. But this year. They don't and i'm going to go into who the third cornerback was right. Now since it's a new york giant. And that is a dory jackson okay and there are a couple different corners. You can go with here. So i've slept at four corners one's going to be a slot in the second boundary corner. We'll get into in a little bit but then we have a third guy. Who's a little bit more interchangeable. That's dorie jackson because dory jackson. Ken lineup in the slot. He did that for the tennessee. Titans plenty of times. And he's also a boundary cornerback. Who has the hips and athletic ability. To play. man cupboard has shown discipline. At the line of scrimmage and is solid at the catch point being physical and isn't a liability as a run defender despite the fact that he's a bit undersized now his issues have been due to injuries and things like that. It came back last year. Got torched by davante adams in the snow up in green bay. We can try the toss that season out. Okay we can but we need to see young player. Be healthy in a system that i feel. I can really unlock his skill. Set and with coaches like jerome henderson. Like patrick ram that can really maximize what he can do. And he's only twenty five years old right now. Like i considered william jackson the third who are longer cornerback. Maybe not a scheme versatile who was just signed by the wash him football team to make this list. He's a twenty eight year old player. But i think dorie jackson could be in for a really special season under the tutelage of this specific coaching staff. And you know what. The coaching staff and a team thinks as well because they invested a lot of money into him. So i brought dorie jackson and to be the second corner or the third cornerback of this group of the second. Cornerback is darius slay yet. He's thirty years old. But i don't believe he's falling off all that much right now. I really don't think it was a bad year for philadelphia. And now you're going to see him kinda restabilize or at least attempt to re stabilize himself on this philadelphia. Eagles team that you know what. There's not a lot of positive outlooks for philly right now but when you watch the film you could still see. That sleigh has has a good skill set to back to back up his play right now now. It's not as dominant as it was when he was on the detroit. Lions and he was manning up number one receivers. But i do believe it's still solid enough to be the number two cornerback that i would select from this division because it's kind of a drop off after daria slanting bradbury's a clear cut one like i thought blake martinez was clear-cut first linebacker mainly due to experience. Because you could make an argument. That mike parsons actually is or german. Davis possibly is because mike parsons is very very unique as an athlete and as a football player rookies. So you've got the experience. They prove in their productive now. Bradberry is that as well. He really took an the next step. And patrick graham system. Which is something. I really wanna hit home. Both blake martinez. James bradberry leonard williams are veteran players. Who played with multiple defensive coordinators yet. They have just unlocked their potential. They actualized what they can do on the football field. And let's not forget it. The reason why that's happening is because this coaching staff putting these players into the optimal positions. Because of patrick ram. It's because of joe judge. That is a great thing to recognize about this young coaching staff. And when joe judge got this team when he said we want teachers. We don't want coaches. We want to teach these guys and it seems like all. Three of those veteran players really took their game to the next level within patrick graham system. They're feeding off the. There's a confidence there and you can even group injured girl peppers internet groups four veteran players there. That's an awesome realization to come to. Let's hope it kind of carries into twenty twenty one. But that's what james bradberry did he really just came into his own and he was a solid above average player. A really solid number. Two i think is how i classified him coming out of carolina. You know that is a really solid number two cornerback. He might not be a number one. But under patrick graham and what he did last year he certainly was a number one. I mean he was always around. The football is quick. Closed was great. His vision and his route con is understanding of route concepts of winter. Break when to his spatial awareness. Just all those things kind of all came together and force a lot of turnovers whether it was him knocking the ball in the air for an interception for darn homes julian love or whatever or just him intercept the ball by himself he really came into his own twenty twenty and he could build on that darius slay i think he's in a war situation if i do say so i mean we'll we'll see what the defense does there for the philadelphia eagles. I'm not one hundred percent certain. How good that team is going to be under nick serianni by. I still think he is. That second corner went with the door jackson three. And then the slop. Romy would go down in washington kendall fuller. Somebody who was traded away from washington went to the chiefs came back to washington. He's twenty six years old. And i feel like. He's one of the more underrated players in the national football league as a cornerback because he man's that slot he's not that big but he really kind of shuts down the slot and does a good job tackling guys after the catch. I mean he's solid tackling cornerback. Despite the fact that he is sub two hundred pounds and he's also somebody who just is a bit more proven the darnay homes of the world bit more proven than the slot. Be jordan. Lewis is somebody. I thought of who can play outside. He can play in the slot. Somebody i realistically sought of. Anthony browne as well and then philadelphia. Their slot situation is kvant seymour. And sometimes they put them onto a maddox there. But he's more so when outside guys so what i was thinking about. Slot kendall fuller was the easy player to choose. Hopefully darnay homes or aaron robinson. Kinda take their game to the next level there..

"Here is obviously headed by saquon barkley. Who's coming off of an acl injury that took him out of a majority of last season. Getting hurt against the chicago bears very very early. On second game of the season. here he is returning. We've seen a lot of guys lately. This is no longer a death sentence that it used to be twenty thirty years ago. Where you torn. Acl on your career was basically done instead. We see plenty of guys who come off. These injuries. have a very highly productive careers and also big bounceback years immediately following like a good example. Adrian peterson was one of those guys who did that. At the running back position so saquon at the top of the list we. We don't need a debate. Who are be one is just like. We didn't need need to debate who. Qb one is but saquon is in a position now where he's going to have a lot of pressure on his shoulders coming off that injury. Yeah i think he definitely well exactly share. Fresher is the right word for it. But i think there are definitely our expectations for saquon barkley going into this season. The giants are going to have to make decision on that fifth year contract They're really going to have to make a decision on a long term extension for him. And i think that is where the real pressure is going to come from if he gets off to a bit of a slow start. I don't think anybody will start. Start killing him for right. I mean he tore his acl and head to wait. Most of a month for the swollen. go down for to get repaired. Doctors are getting pretty good at stitching knees back together but it's still a significant injury. Yes definitely still a significant injury. But i i don't know how exactly to look at this because from everything we hear right. Now he's saying we're taking it a day at a time. I was literally watching. Gm fb a few days ago. And they had james bradberry on a peter schrager s a question and james bradbury about saquon barkley and james bradberry was like all. He's gonna come out and he's going to be a dog and then like right away. He realized that he said something he shouldn't have and he kind of walked it back and he was like let me and he literally said like. Excuse me. let me rephrase. We're taking a day a time but you know and like he like totally like joe judge the entire thing and realize he probably shouldn't be saying that and i think we all hope is gonna come back and i do ultimately think he's going to be there week one but it's definitely more of a slow process and i'm not sure what the snack counts are really going to end up. Being four saquon barkley and devante booker in week one other. We're going to see a little bit more booker than we may want to. But that's mainly just because i think they're going to ingratiate back into the lineup back into that former role and that since they have you know running back depth here made in see a third running back out there and honestly the you say that making originally my my thoughts here on saquon were he probably is going to get a light load going into the season for like maybe the first four or even longer than that games but that combine james bradberry almost makes me think that everybody within the building was told to say that so that they don't expect teams facing the giants early on don't expect saquon to get a lot of touches maybe he's further along than he actually is and we're not actually going to get the full glimpse into that until you know. Maybe the soon as the first game kicks off. I think if the denver broncos come into the come into week one any assuming anything other than getting a full dose of a one hundred percent saquon barkley. They are making a significant mistake. And i think they are at least their defense. Probably better coach than that. So the second player down on the depth chart. And we're gonna get to talking about saquon for the second half of the show. We're going to really dive into him. Because of the importance he has to this giants offense but after him seemingly is devante booker. Do you guys think that this is confirmed that we should just assume that he's going to be the second running back just based on how much they paid him in. Free agency the guys that are sitting behind him because it just a foregone conclusion at this point that devante booker is probably gonna take a good chunk of the carries as that second running back. I mean if if you're a betting man. That's where i would go but i definitely wouldn't say it's a foregone conclusion but two years five and a half million dollars on the first day of free agency that says something they definitely wanted to make it a priority to get a running back. Who can run between the tackles can run outside is a solid zone runner. A candu gap fast you can catch passes can also pass block. Booger can do all those things. I would say adequately to solid. They wanted to ensure that they had 'cause last year they had dion lewis yet. Dion lewis capacity can catch passes. But he's not good. Really running in between the tackles so he struggled with that. I feel like giant really wanted to ensure that they got somebody that if something were to happen the saquon barkley. This guy can step in. Nba three down back for them. Although we saw last year with jason garrett he'd like to use two backs a lot of the times. We saw a lot of alfred morris along with wayne gaughman so we may see some of that in the season just as early on the season. Like we said what's guam barkley coming back from that injury. But i think if i bet man everything points to booker and i think he can execute that role pretty solidly into. I wanted to get your take on this chris. Do you think booker's going to be an upgrade over wing. On what you're asking the internet's number one wing. Goldman fan right here. I know i know i. I'm not going to say he's an upgrade. I think we'll probably talk about this. In the second half. I think booker might fit what they want to do. A little bit better than winged could because you know for the just for the price wing. Goeman basically went to a blue san francisco on justa bov veteran minimum. And he was he was. I don't want to call him a revelation for the offense but the offense performed significantly better when he was on the field. And you know he was in the red zone. He was good in short area soon and he could do pretty much everything. He wasn't really great running outside. He didn't really have that. The zone scheme chops but at least as a competent capable Number two running back..

Adrian peterson james bradbury james bradberry jason garrett wayne gaughman peter schrager last year alfred morris Goeman fifth year second game twenty thirty years ago first four second player first game two years saquon barkley five and a half million dollar devante second half

Mid-Atlantic, Northeast states work to cut CO2 from transportation

"The mid Atlantic and northeast regions of the US are home to major cities and sprawling road networks. All that traffic creates a lot of carbon pollution. Transportation issues are multi state and regional by their very nature. So it really does make a lot of sense to tackle them in a regional way. James Bradbury is with the Georgetown Climate Center it facilitates transportation and climate initiative a collaboration between Washington DC and twelve states to reduce transportation emissions. Of the group are developing a regional cap and invest programme, it could take effect as early as twenty twenty two when it does it would require fuel suppliers to hold allowances essentially permits for the carbon pollution caused by the fuel they distribute and the total number of allowances would be capped and then decline over time to ensure that you actually get the emissions reductions. The allowances will be bought and sold at Auction and the proceeds will help fund cling transportation. For example, they could be used for mass transit bike paths
