"UCLA and cross country, a good spot that building will be rocking and I got to be honest, Parrish, sometimes I look at these matches when we make our Friday picks, I can get a decent feel. I kind of don't know what to expect here. Because Maryland, 8 and two, if we would have said that going in, we've been like, yeah, I think I think I could probably see that, but we just don't know. A lot of the rosters unknown, but jameer young has been great Dante Scott has been the teams, you know, I think start to now probably most overall valuable player there. But they're waiting for Donald Carrie to be a bit more impressive. Kim Hart's been pretty good. And then you say he's got proven guys, but they're on the road in the spot. What are you in a tough spot? What do you expecting from the greatest coach in UCLA history in the spot here in the house that grievous Vasquez built? I never know what to expect. Have you seen my final four in one record? You only one behind me, I believe. We're good. I never know what to expect. Here's the truth. I can't tell you it's gonna be a great game. I can tell you it's going to look amazing. Better. Yeah. And that's why this is what I love. Big brand, big brand, on campus, let's go. We get into a habit of watching so many neutral court games. And sometimes they're great. You know, in terms of atmosphere, but more often than not, they're just not. And that's why I always prefer things to happen on campus. Or in true home road environments. And that's what we get tonight. It should be noted that UCLA just isn't randomly and forgive me if you mentioned this. Isn't just like randomly flying across the country to play Maryland. They're in the CBS sports classic on Saturday at New York's Madison Square Garden. So I haven't talked to the UCLA staff about this specifically, but I'm assuming they just sort of said, we're going to New York anyway. Let's see if we can find an east coast, you know, start a home at home with somebody and find an east coast opponent that we can play at in the week when we're going to New York and then we'll just go there and go straight to New York and then come back home. So they're taking advantage of an east coast in east coast trip and getting two games on this trip as opposed to just one. Whatever the motivation is, I'm just glad it's happening because you're right. It is a kind of a boring week. Because a lot of schools are in finals and coaches at big time programs don't like traveling typically. During finals week because it creates all sorts of problems. These are actual students. Who have to take exams and stuff, at least at most places. And so it really limits the amount of quality interesting games we have. But we did have Alabama Memphis last night. We're going to have Maryland UCLA tonight. And I don't know if this would have been one. Everybody circled in the preseason because Marilyn frankly wasn't supposed to be good. And we might find out that Marilyn isn't as good as Marilyn looked in those first 8 games of the season. But Maryland is 8 and two, Maryland is nationally ranked and Marilyn has beaten Illinois, Miami, St. Louis. So I wouldn't, I wouldn't rule anything out tonight. I guess to circle back to your neutral initial question. What am I expecting tonight? A competitive basketball game. I think we'll be at the under four, and it'll still technically be up for grab. That'd be surprised if that's not true. All right, now if we get to the under four and it's like 14 points or more on either side, please cut that and tweet it. Just please cut it. "So what do you think is the difference last year and this year, if I ban that time, it doesn't look like the typical Bama. We still have talent. We got the goat and Saban. And we follow the process, but something just doesn't seem to be adding up. Well, I think it comes in this particular case. I would point to a couple of things. Number one, a less than spectacular offensive line, which has put a lot of pressure on Bryce young on secondly, who are the explosive wide receivers. And you know who has been there in the last 5 years. Just watch a game on Sunday and you'll see and hear in Alabama wide receiver. Whether it's rugs, obviously not, but Judy or devonta Smith, waddle. It is an endless run of great receivers. Alabama doesn't have that right now. James and Williams met, I would just add for two from last year. And I think the play calling is less than spectacular. You compare the play calling today versus what it was under sarkeesian. Brian dabel or lane kiffin, it's quite inferior. And I think I hate to blame the defense of coordinator too much 'cause ultimately that's really where Nick Saban resides, but there's no comparison between Pete golden and either Jeremy Pruitt or especially Kirby smart. Remember Kirby smart. Got to Alabama with Nick Saban, and he didn't leave until 6 or was it 7 years ago? I mean, he was there as that program lifted off and I mean, things are not. Things are not bad, but Alabama fans are getting a little bit of a dose of reality in that they are not as elite. They're still one of the top programs in the country. Don't forget, they started the last two years. Number one in the country. And I think the expectations game saving talked about last year being a rebuilding year. What he meant by that was we have a new quarterback. We have to do this. We haven't do that. Well, he returned a Heisman Trophy winner at quarterback. He returned the best player perhaps in all of football and will Anderson. But some of the other positions did not materialize. He got a great running back in jameer Gibbs, but where did he go in the transfer portal to supplement a wide receivers where did they miss from a, from a wide receiver standpoint? There are a couple of minor misses can really affect it. Bryce young is not Superman. He's the best quarterback I've seen at Alabama, but somebody has to hold on to the ball too. He was an all star. And he was like, I miss those four free throws. And he's like, I never shot above 60% the rest of my career. And I think that's how I, tying it back into golf. That's what I start to relate to golf because I have a lot of respect for I mean, I have a respect for all these athletes, but the guys like the free throw shooters like that are just ice. Like the guys, the place kickers that are ice, like how about the guy for the Bengals that is a rookie that was just making everything. I mean, your mind can kind of get in your own way at that point. Golf, it's like, when you're shooting a free throw, there's no there's no one playing defense on you. It's just you versus yourself. And how many times have you done it? And then golf, there's no one trying to stop you unless you're like a 16 at waist management and they're trying to he got the yips. He said that it was 30. He actually he wouldn't drive to the basket because he didn't want to go to the line. He would actually admit I don't want to go to the line anymore. No, he said it openly. He said openly. It hurt. It hurt to hear it. I was like, man, because he was so good and you could just tell how it just changed him. But you've seen it with golf. You're susceptible to that from the TV at any point.
