"Let guys like davison who maybe didn't have the longevity but like those years speak for themselves he was above and beyond when when you have a guy who moves like. Jamal did that yards per carry. Average alone should like signal like man. I didn't even watch him but it's not like he played behind great law. It's not like he was running behind. Willie roaf like priest. Holmes did it's not like he was planned for great head coaches. it's not like matt. Cassel kept defenses. Honest you know. The guy was playing for like a rotation of offensive coordinators. You plan for the worst quarterbacks in ireland until like read comes in the area. He was the most dynamic player to watch. It's like The chiefs lucked out to me to me. Jamaal charles was the most dynamic offense of weapon in the game when he was healthy. The chiefs have that now and tyree kill the single most dynamic offensive weapon in the game. We've been lucky. Have to in the last decade or so So yeah to me. it's. I'm with you except i take it all the way out like i'm i'm so against the hall of longevity that i think frank gore is in no way a hall of famer get that get that out of here no way not. In any season frank gore was never one of the top five running backs in football that he played so even a frank gore place twenty five seasons i would never identify frank gore as like. Oh yeah. he was one of five best that year. No he wasn't he was always. I mean he was always like a top ten back. He just played for forever and sometimes top fifteen. I just don't get his hall of fame case to me. I think he's great good to great for very long time. means he'll get into teams ring of honor or whatever's going on there but but You know to me. How many defense. How many defensive coordinators went into their weekly game planning beyond like. What are we going to do about franken yet. Nobody nobody ever like you were never like shit man. We gotta play frank gore this week. You know right. Julio jones go into the titans. I was like damn it. I don't want that guy in the titans. She's have to play that guy he's really good. I don't wanna have to deal with them. I get even when. I know that the chiefs are better than the titans. Derrick henry can record game he can record game. It doesn't matter. Nobody's ever said that about frank gore and they said that about jamaal charles. I think make excellent points. It's just absurd and you know. I don't know why we cling to this idea that that that well you just you have to play a certain amount of time where you had to have one super bowls super bowl's like those are like their bonuses right. They like their resume adar's but like the idea is how good were you there. Fifty three guys on the team like there are eleven dudes on the field. This isn't like the nba. Where like you can be so good that you can just win a game by yourself like that doesn't really happen in the nfl. With maybe the exception of patrick mahomes. Who's absolutely insane. you know. there's not too many people who could just put a team on their back. That way football it. Just schimmel charles. Todd would not play in todd. Was thomas jones in there. let's get todd's carries. Thomas jones is veteran. Leadership was all about the intangibles plan..

"And i think that's the key. The browns baker has to continue to ascend. He has to be better than he was last year. And if he's if he is if he takes that josh allen leap then yeah they could win twelve thirteen fourteen games. Maybe they're that talented. I'm going to go with. I'm gonna go ahead and give them contender because all my reservations are based on gut feeling and just like also probably just like not trusting the browns to win two years in a row. The second team i wanted to hit and they bet around for a while now but they're stuck behind the proverbial Hump is the tennessee. Titans tannahill still has a lot of detractors in haters despite what he's been doing if you look at the actual numbers. Derrick henry is a monster but much like the ravens. This is a team. That just can't seem to get over the hump and maybe that hump for all of these teams unfairly is the kansas city chiefs. That is just there good teams but they're just not. It's not going to happen as long as patrick. Mom's real ruling the afc most years. What is your take on the titans. Yeah i i liked the titans. I i really think the titans are contender. Campy talked off that ledge. And i think both teams that you bring up are going to be helped. By the fact that i think both divisions are gonna be weaker than they've ever been in recent years so like with the shawn watson when the texans were like completely falling apart you know they were winning the division. The colds always play tough. The titans always play tough. And then you have an also ran in the jags. I think. Trevor lawrence is going to be good for the jags. I think there's promised there for the first time in years but they're not continuing this year. The texans are maybe the worst team we've seen their expansion team at this point And the colds. I mean gosh. if you've already lost your best player quick nelson for the first few weeks of carson wentz. Willie won't be if you believe that. that's fine. i like chris ballard. I like what he's done in. The i think he's built a good team and a deep team overall. But they're not on the level of the titans. The titans have picked the right time to lean in with a bunch of veterans smart coach. Their deep where it matters in the trenches I if they don't go five and one or six zero in their own division..

"I saw mike greenberg on get up this morning talking about like he. He was talking about the game against pittsburgh in the playoffs and he was like. Yeah they baker mayfield. Hung forty eight on these guys. What else does he need to do. And i was like hold on a minute. I watched that game. And i believe me i grew up like a you know my old man's big browns fan. Everybody hates the steelers. Where i'm from or most people do right. That's that big rivalry before the browns left and it was the arctic for me for as a as a guy from the cleveland area to watch. What's the browns to stop the steelers. A playoff game is their first win in forever. That was great but the steelers shit the bed. They peed all over their leg from the beginning of that game. They were terrible absolutely terrible. It reminded me of when when the cheese got their first playoff win. Remember gets the texans and brian hoyer was just throwing the ball and everybody in red jersey was absolute meltdown and it was really great and cathartic because we didn't have to worry or stress playoff game for once but like that that was to me the browns of last year. It's like they. They went up against a team was done. What is your take on the browns. Are they an afc contender or a pretender. I don't know how to make up my mind on that. I wanna be decisive in say one or the other. But i think you're right i I like i feel like after after cycling through enlists leadership regimes or whatever. You wanna call it in the front office and on the sidelines. I think they have that right. And so i think casey that first hand. If you get that right you can really build something meaningful. Also you know like. How did you feel about josh allen. A year ago right. You say something like you know. I'm not a believer. Until i see him throw like like will the team you know on his own arm. And so i i think given the potential ceiling of a guy like mayfield of of these top picks if if the chance to reach the ceiling is they're you know they're still very young. I think the browns could turn that corner. They face a hell of a challenge right out of the gate. Obviously a you know.

"I'm here with matt conner. The editor at arrowhead addict. He's in his closet as usual usually hear him sterling homes. But now he's here with me matt. How's it going man. Yeah good man. i'm good. I don't think either one of us are as good as verte. Ram at the moment right. I mean he's he's like a mere woods or i think he's going to alcatraz some something like that so if he goes to alcatraz you better be careful they might lock them up by the way. How many times have you seen the rock with sean connery. It's it's been a while. But i like i watched it a lot. You know when it came out when it was popular. Do you remember the theory that sean connery was james. Bond in the rock. Have you ever heard of that. It's probably on read. It like the theory was that that even though he wasn't by name james bond that it was supposed to be james bond that that was the character. I think it got debunked but like it's worth a rewatch just for that but like dude. I love all movies that came out. They were so over the top and so cheesy like the rock and then like conair yukon air guy. I mean my last name is connor. When that movie came out it was like. Oh there's the air and Yeah anything nicholas cage is an where he can just do his over the top thing right. It's it's unbelievably over the top. And you got shammy in there and you got. Oh god who plays who plays who plays cyrus the virus. John malkovich john malkovich john malkovich. So it's basically like all of like the nine ds like over the top acting like olympics. And of course. Malkovich and steve shamir are brilliant and to a degree so as cage but like you know the lions and those movies that they were like my favorite one is Some some guy says to to nicholas cage. Do you know what i am and nicholas cage says ugly all day. It's just like full that straight out even after all these years. Owing it's it's the it's the best line in that entire movie Yeah ugly all day. Just like so ridiculous. He's wearing that. Wife beater asia at the whole time. Oppression say approaching. Call them wife beaters anymore. But it's a different time. It was a different but like all the harrison ford movies like. Oh god air force one get off my play like this ridiculous these down like this is a real talent of yours. It is there's quotes yeah. Nineties movie quotes I was just watching crimson. Tide do you remember that think saw crimson tide. It's just bruckheimer underwater basically by gene hackman at. It's the same thing it's wonderful. It's over the top. It's i can't believe you never seen it. Because i watch it every time it's on television and then i just love. Yeah it is. It's hard to get them all. You know the submarine movies. They throw on their you. Five seven one. Remember that one. I think jon bon jovi was in one of those movies and that was another thing. Yeah that they would do that. They would like they would get random music stars some of whom could actually act like l. o. Cool j is like super talented. He's in like the halloween movies and he was..

"You know it in the same year. I'm not banking on it. If i was betting on it. I think i'm still eat to nine hundred range from coal but that's still a marked improvement over. Worried was last year and factoring in that seventeenth game. So is a lot to ask. I don't even really wanna talk about clyde Getting a thousand yards receiving. I think it's entirely possible. But i i think i think most likely edwards laird is going to be shooting for and i'm hoping for two thousand combined yards so that's something like fifteen hundred rushing five hundred receiving something like that. That is more realistic though. Sound like big numbers if you look at what he did last year. It's not that far off. Bring some numbers into this to kind of to put some context of this. So i like what you said about cloud getting into two thousand total so westbrook. Brian westbrook back in the andy. Reid eagles days. He had three separate occasions where he got to about. Seven hundred yards got to six ninety nine one year seven three one year and actually i got to seven hundred seventy one one year and now it's a different. Offense is different times. Obviously but i do think that kind of tells you that there is a cap to how much the chiefs are able to get the to the ball to the running back in the past game. The most he ever gotten with a chiefs back with six hundred ninety three jamaal charles in two thousand thirteen and so i think there is a cap to that but it does get kinda tell you that clyde could get into that seven hundred range were thirteen hundred hundred rushing yards and also news at two thousand. Yeah i could see that happening. Another argument that people have made against it is that patrick. Mahomes is not a shutdown. Thrower is not throwing a running backs in the same way previous chiefs. Quarterbacks have Previous other quarterbacks in the league might but i also think that there's some story that mahomes has learned from the way defenses have have been able to have some success against the chiefs team in taking more. What what the defense is giving you and to me. That all points at clyde average allaire again i hate focusing too much on the super bowl but i think it's had a lot of opportunities a lot of yards left on the table in that game because she's were looking for Receivers down the field and they just didn't have time to get it to them or they weren't open and one more thing on this before we go to break i. I will say. I'll make the case for hardman to get there. Two thousand real quick so two thousand nineteen. He averaged thirteen point. One yards per target right end. The average home in the three hundred homes has been the starter in the three seasons. The averaged third leading receiver on the team has averaged sixty nine targets per season. Increase a seventeen games at seventy three targets. You go thirteen point. One yards per target.

We need this anyway kit. We can't just say i want to. I want the can never platform. I wanna feel that one. I want that. So billy jonas is. One of the big fight is to elite guys undertake guys going at it and made a best near win. Best man win all right me finish with this. Should i stop talking about you in charlotte. Because it's all i talk about. I do this podcast every single week. At some point. I find a way to weave it in there that i think the biggest fight in boxing is or one of anyway is android versus charl. Oh hell i went on max kellerman shown espn and only talked about this for about five minutes. Because i believe that this is a massive fight. Have you given up. Hope is my first question and the second is like well. It's not even the second question. More of a comment. If i see you fighting liam williams and i see jamaal charles fighting chris eubank. I might lose my mind. I might actually lose my mind because that's two fights that aren't necessary and to fight the don't need to happen. Because you've got to elite undefeated middle weights. Who have big money. Potentially to make in a fight between them to it not happening to beatrice would drive me bonkers completely bonkers is it. I would fight both of those. I was like the guy in the sixty. You know what i'm saying. I would fight both for them in some technical both out of open. No i i i it was always something that like a motorway as i you know depending on who who assigned moving forward depending on the situation right these are these two guys right here. You know Guys i need to get rid with to make a statement and it is a great a great fight for boxing. But it's not happening. There was time zone. I can't say he had you know in. I'm not in the politics of it. You know what i'm saying. I can't sit here. Might dictate those situations at this point. What i can be billie. Joe g get those plays now is like now. Become more of a powerhouse. Now i'm a force to be reckoned with. Therefore i want to fight now. That's not what you think..

"Absolutely we we definitely have them in spades at that position whereas hypothetically prophetically everywhere else. It's pretty close there. We've got them by good and shoulders. And that's my thing too. Is You know you put the chiefs defense. Defense chiefs defense is I. Don't want to just as good as San Francisco. But they're right there. They're right there with them. But it's more than enough to get Jimmy Garoppolo uncomfortable. That San Francisco defense is not enough to to get Kashmira homes uncomfortable. The man has has too much Pocket presence way too much pocket presence in his great. He's a mad scientist there in the pocket. And it works out in the chiefs favor. Obviously recently and I think is going to. You know Sunday's well this is just a case of of you know which player is going going to be better at the position where it matters the most and that's at quarterback and how can you not take Patrick Mahomes so so it it also reminds me. Look we're we're kind of getting low on time here and I'm going to just bring this up briefly but it's also the hype behind the superbowl It reminds me of the two thousand six rosebowl between Texas and And you know what Jamaal Charles played in that game but we're we're talking some big time big time players that came out of that Game mm-hmm and this reminds me of that hype And and I just I look forward to this game. We're forty eight hours away Chris with the last five minutes here because we're going on five minutes. I WANNA touch base here on what it means to the both of us for the Kansas City chiefs to to be in this position. And what it would really mean to you. You know for the chiefs to to win the Super Bowl and on Sunday. You know It's GonNa be a very Emotional time and I ah it's GonNa be hard to find the words right now Because you looking back at the two thousand fourteen seasons.

"He can Nello curly, did not have a fight, and that's exactly why it's impossible to be a duck. Jamaal Charles is in a fight. Right. Jamaal Charles INA fight. His mandate his mandatory hasn't been called. How am I duck in you? I'm free to do whatever I want. I'm free to do whatever I want just like wilder eight duck and DeLeon. Why is he? Delia white. The difference between a wider got going on the defend his mandatory. I don't know when the last time that the WBZ champion have defended I mentor opposition, maybe Cannella, what was mentor to Toews Trubisky. That's the case then Cannella is entitled about Terry, but to make Jamaal Charles, the food champion that tells me that Jamal Challah won't get a chance to, to be mandated for another. That's all I'm saying. I agree with that. He won't get a chance to be mandated because it is new rule. But to call Condello to duck, he do nothing out here hand all the news and stuff. And you say, I'll failed me and fighting on fair all know, many that really been clamoring for Catholics meal. I know Kobe's maybe a little bit different. There was some about him but maybe fans are are saying that they might. Jamaal charles. Oh, do you remember, any polls or anything like that for our make one day, I put on my Twitter page, and see what the world? I mean that's what I'm saying, like, honestly, like, PBC Showtime, golden boy, age be. Oh design, I no one has ever link the two besides the fans. When the fans linked them, you usually see the entity step in and say all you want to see him fight necks and try to get a gauge. But there's no gauge look, I'll give you an example. BT sports, put on their YouTube channel who's the best heavyweight in the world. And they gave you percentages of who they're hundred sixty eight thousand votes determined was there champion. That's all I'm exit for show me the proof that he's ducking where is the failed negotiations like where is the duck to actual duck? That's all I'm saying. People are just looking at it from a perspective that they're still damn give any injured division say, Najim. All let's say is good natty or or even Dmitri's Andre. We all know what, what's the reason behind the canal fight, not happening? So there's still vice in your division. Then why you going try to up to sixty one seventy five? By somebody because we know if it'd be great if I go up to what classes, and I lose, I was supposed to win in any way because the guideline naturally bigamy where and that's really starting to me. But if I do win another little feather in my tricky. But if I'm to lose to a guy in my own division, that might make me look worse than I already not already do. But maybe maybe look worse in the fans public, I can't be the guy my division. So I'll ask caller and boomerang said can Nello had been, I'm paraphrasing helped me. He was like the last seven years. He's been what I say. He don't like the way his last year's been like the golden boy they moving last year. So last seven years, you or. Five five or something like that, you want me to go to two thousand twelve we in two thousand nineteen. How many I wing Deborah? Oh 'cause you know that what he's wrong. I know that they can never had false opposition coming up. Yeah, absolutely. Okay. Because shit, bro. If I had a son, that was in boxing, this is the type of resume, I would want him to have a win and win, you know, young from Jerry Loic child overs. Andre the good fight. That's long overdue. Exactly Nigera king come to one canot, though, if the middleweight Keith Thurman Alexander Wilson comes with another one, Laura slash another, what they Showtime, pay per view. Alexander comes right back. Canal is probably going to fight cows and cola and the next two fights also in Charlotte, the white..

"By into do with one leg trying to prove my. Man, Katie trigger trigger. 'cause I let you finish Chan. Why you gotta cut me off to make up about two weeks. Now nigga let me finish. Come on. So you beat a do with one leg, then you beat the fifty four pound at sixty then you beat the old dude and core buff, which is controversial now you're going back down to fifty four like how am I duck? And you when you don't have a legitimate hundred sixty pound win. What is legitimate win? He can't get one guy to get ring was mandated say he won't it could never just meant franchise Tepi moving up when we all know that, that we've been asking about. I've been excellent. We're going to do about the thing to it three times now. And we see what they. So my do you recall anyone else in a similar situation as Charles before in this very same division and do you know what they did? How did they come from underneath that whole? Garlan similar situation. I can think of is in another division, no, no. Once upon a time. The knotty galore skin was Jamaal Charles of, you know, once upon a time he was fighting canes that the hardcore fans called canes once upon a time he was calling out Cannella in Canelo said, he'd and fight anybody me gal Koto did an interview with me saying he'd fight anybody in, I almost got kicked out. The press say how you gonna tell me any final body when you bought the fight the duty knocked out. Okay. So being ducked to avoid it because you ain't fight in nobody. That's part of boxing. You gotta fight somebody eventually triple g faced people and the public demanding. But since you're banging, drums, so much, I would like you to tell me do you think that Jamaal Charles oh, and the demand. For him to fight Cannella is as big as the demand for Ganapati Gluskin and Cannella to fight each other. You know, remember that can Nello in Granada got in each other's rings like the public at least knows who both men are. Fair. Both guys were promoted by HBO and we all know HBO is trying to make that fight for the longest. So of course, the, the, the fans are going to know who HBO does a great job at producing content for guys. But I won't go to quick, so Liam sniff was mother's urban. D'amato. Let me let me. Sixty. Kidding. You can 'cause when he got something to say. Didn't you just read a super superjet? No, I I didn't even starting. I say Liam Smith. You come in. Axiom. So you saying Liam Smith is more deserving than Jamaal, Charles, my statement. Because you're you're, you're, you're infecting the minds of the casual listeners that are listening by getting full, I'm telling the truth. So. Telling the truth Mike telling the truth. Okay. So then, unfortunately, Mike doesn't even know you know, the difference between a lie in the truth. Jamal trawler is one hundred sixty Pounder..

"Do I agree with what franchise stamping stands for of course, not? But, but I do get their reasons who else is done, what can those done who else is Representative WBZ in the way that can L O has who else says defended the belt more who else's unified? It more you know, who else has more accurate aids with that WBZ title? But outside of that is came. We really call them duck. If he's fighting Sergei Cova, if he's fighting Callum Smith. I haven't seen anybody signing up to fight those guys outside of Anthony yard. I think giving really can't consider him because a lot of people wanting to fight. Jamaal Charles demodulators being the guy in the division for like fourteen months them one interim champion mandatory contender. Whatever you wanna call it. But it just seems like another was picking and choosing. How it goes up, we go them and fight. Kobe been knocked out by Andre ward and midnight that by other other avarice came back against a resin beat him. So cool capless mill kind of kind of green. It seemed like another trying to get them kind of early, if he does fight Kelly Smith. So again, a guy kinda can green. So in my opinion, he's like picking. Dame. Jamaal Charles is season ripe in his prime both our twenty nine so I don't see what the problem would be by the dim two guys have a big big fight. So who's more dangerous in your eyes as Jamaal Charles Sergei Kovalyov? I believe Jamaal Charles because I believe you said it maybe. A month ago two months ago. When we first talked about the story, the canot the co- the could be like a cherry pick or something like that. You know, saying cope with up could be a cherry Fook another, because he is damage. He is older. He is not. I don't make as an and it's prompting more. But I think Charles is in his prime young strong ready to fight, and who's more dangerous between Callum and Jamaal Charles Callum is young prime big strong and ready to fight. I think Jamal cello, get a little bit more experienced than Kevin calendar. Still kind of green as punk is name that Julian Williams and Allston trout on more experienced accomplished and better than George groves. Yeah. I like I paint union willing better than enjoys grove, I think, trial after the Caribbean joys grove Jonesboro grows his title off a, a Tyrone Zoe on Santa, he wasn't really that guy or never really heard of. And then everybody says that when he found James gale back in the day he really lost that fight. So I, I don't know how good George grow was. But what I've seen I wasn't writing home about George grows. I was the one who picks. What I was the one who pickers, Eubank junior, big, George grow, which I was wrong. But I still picked. Yeah. I mean. I have to disagree groves is more -ccomplish d-, then Jamaal Charles and more accomplished than Austin Shrout if I'm not mistaken in chat. Please help me out grossest captured titles in two different divisions. Only one at sixty as well, bro. No, no. You did. Oh, he started at sixty eight what the hell? About that. All right. So he's got that one title, but he was considered the man in that division. He was the super chant in a WBA. And he was the winner of the World Boxing, super series, was not was it wasn't it a torn me. He was in my. So you know he kinda is just like Andre ward. He kind of made himself the man by winning the tournament. Right. Not in my opinion man because guys. Tougher competition. Like I mean dude, he's he was in. You can make that face all you want. But you know, you also have been admittedly saying you just started three years ago like he forecast. James ago when he was eleven in no, you know, he for the fucking road warrior Glen Johnson. You know, he fought Paul Smith common opponent with. Andre ward, you know, he fought the guy you brought up call frocks twice. You know, Dennis Jack, Jack Marin merry shooting off Jamie, Cox Chris Eubank junior and Callum Smith..

"Who is at the top for yards per carry. It's not Jim Brown. It's not very Sanders. It's not gale sayers. But they are two three and four number. One. All time is Jamaal Charles at five point four yards per carry Terrell Davis is in the hall of fame largely because of team accomplishments. And I hate judging guys based on rings Jamaal Charles played longer than Terrell Davis. Jamaal Charles had add more thousand yards then Terrell Davis, Terrell Davis had sixty five combined touchdowns rushing and receiving Jamaal Charles had sixty four combined touchdowns rushing and receiving Jamaal Charles Terrell. Davis had very similar amounts of production. Terrell Davis was seventy six hundred rushing yards. I grid. Jamaal Charles seventy five hundred rushing yards first career, Terrell Davis is a hall of Famer because of team. Accomplishments? If Jamaal Charles would have won a Super Bowl he'd have a shot at making it to canton because he didn't he won't. But he's one of the most talented running backs in the history of the NFL. And that's what his legacy should be. Why moving on every World Series champ? Does the Red Sox are visiting the White House as that will happen this Thursday, but Boston manager outscore already now he's skipping the White House. Visit because of the federal government's insufficient spots helped Puerto Rico after their devastating hurricane is this a big deal. It's not going to be a huge deal because baseball players and managers don't generate conversation in and around sports and pop culture and the news cycle like NBA players do right. If this was Steve Kerr, it would be. On ESPN, it'd be on part of the interruption. It might even be on good Morning, America NBA and NFL stars generate more pop culture conversation than baseball players in baseball managers. But why I think this is interesting is because Alex Cora is refusing trip to the White House based on policy. You guys don't need to have me with the stick to sports or you bleeding heart or whatever athletes skipped the trip to the White House based on politics with Barack Obama. They've done it with Donald Trump. This has happened on both sides. It's certainly happening more under Donald Trump. But Mookie Betts is skipping. Jackie Bradley, jR, is skipping. David price is skipping. It. Plenty of prominent Red Sox players are not going there. They're just saying I'm not going. Outscore is saying, hey. I'm your first World Series manager Morne in Puerto Rico..

"Jamaal Charles Tarik. The National Football League a great. Texas. No, we're on the air. Right. Is. Texas love I couldn't help at a guy. Okay. Yeah. We are on the air. This isn't just like a preview of what we're gonna do when we come back from break. And that was Charles with Texas football congratulating him on a great career. Great college career was pro career. So today's draft inspired by Jamaal Charles. And let's face it. It's kind of slow right now. But inspired by Jamaal Charles in an honor of his great NFL career. A draft of the best university of Texas players of all time. Now is this at university of Texas or is this based on what they have done when they gone to the NFL. Let's get the parameters straight here. I don't want any big cat style. Shell game from your Chris. What is your understanding of the the actual rules of this draft? There's got to be a little balance there. I mean, I guess we're gonna favor Texas as far as what they've done. But I know nobody on my list is going to be just a college guy. It's going to be someone that of course, went on to the NFL and did something somewhat worthwhile. There is. Well, well, since you went to Texas after reneging on your commitment to the university of Tennessee. Hey, you still went with a UT? That's right. They're both the same. I'll give you the first pick. We'd have to go through the charade of the rigged coin toss today. Go ahead. You have the on that is so nice to us. Thank you very much. Okay. My first pick. And you know, this is between two guys. I you're going to pick the other one I'm going with Tyler rose as they used to call him Earl Campbell. And it hurts me not to pick Ricky Williams number one here because I like rookie a lot, but Earl Campbell, of course, won the highs. Then back in the seventies was a big time college football running back. I mean, one of the all time greats as far as where a number twenty and his days, Texas, but then goes to the Houston Oilers and really has a phenomenal eight year career there. Now, again, it's not a long career because Earl Campbell you. And I talk about this lot. You wanna talk about car crashes for a living and how we even talk about Zeke, Elliot how that pertains to that. Yeah. His body took a beating. Because he beat everybody into the ground when he had the ball in his hand. And he just ran them over to where he paid for it after. But man, you talk about one of the most talented most powerful running backs ever in the history of football. And in college football Earl Campbell is toward the top of the list for me. He was just incredible in the seventies with the tearaway jerseys the play that would now be not just a penalty. It would be a suspension. It may be banishment from right put his helmet. Chest of Isiah Robertson when the Oilers were playing the Rams, and Tony Dungy's got a great story about that. Because that happened before the Steelers are getting ready to play Earl Campbell, and they showed that play in the film room and Jack Lambert got up and said don't ever show that play in here again. So the Steelers had the better those battles with the Oilers back in the seventies. But Earl Campbell for a brief period of time. And I don't think you can stink contain and continue that kind of a pace in the NFL. He was just reckless bruising, and I'd never seen anything like a guy who you give him the football. He doesn't need a whole. He's gonna run over. Right. No. I right. I mean, and there's a lot of stories like that, Mike. I mean, I know my dad tells a few stories about teammates players he played with that, you know, talk about hidden or Ocampo, and I'll gosh, I got Earl Campbell in my sights. He doesn't see me coming. I'm gonna crush them and run them over. And then they blink their eyes. And they're the ones that they're back on the ground. Look it up this guy going like what the? The hell happened. So yeah, you know, me I love legs and asks look up Earl Campbell his legs and Asir all timers. Okay. And that's why he was great sorry to say that three letter word on air. But it it's it's pertinent to this conversation. All right. And you're already tipped to pick would be route one Ricky Williams such a phenomenal talent at the university of Texas that Mike Ditka. Who was the New Orleans Saints coach at the time gave up an entire draft. Plus a first round of the next year to move up just a few spots. Take get Ricky Williams on his team. And how think the in hindsight twenty years later young kid and he had a little bit of social anxiety. Remember, he would do the interviews with his helmet with visor on because he was just he was uncomfortable around people who were asking a bunch of questions how much more pressure that added to the guy. That's how he entered the NFL. What if you had just been a normal pick without all that fanfare without all that hype? Without on the expectation. He was still really good been even better at the NFL level. He was incredible. And they when he got to Miami after he was traded by the saints. They pounded the hell out of that guy. And he just kept going. And you know, it's a shame that he was planning to time where attitudes before different about marijuana than they are. Now. I mean, he was stigmatized by it and missed a whole year on a couple of different occasions. I remember his his abrupt retirement what a stunner that was. And then came back and played. And you know, he played a long time in the NFL. And I think he's one of the more underrated running back to the past twenty years in part because the bar was so high for coming in. There was no way he was ever gonna meet it no way would ever do it. He still had a pretty good career at the NFL level. But a great career text. Yeah. I mean ten thousand yards career rushing number. I mean, that's why I don't think people realize how good Ricky Williams career was and even after he took a year off and went to Canada smoke. We eat or whatever it was to hang out for a year. He came back with the Miami Dolphins and was almost immediately interjected back into whoa. This is one of the best running backs in the NFL. One of the freaky people I've ever seen by far as body makeup. You know, talk about the legs and all those kind of things just one of the most dense humans ever. I mean, must go like one of those guys Mike were, you know, my dad, and I have a saying like I feel like if I tried to stick a knife in his arm, the knife Ota, bent before it would actually gone into his arm. He's made a steal the stories are famous Texas. He couldn't even work out. He was so muscular because if he worked out he put ten pounds of muscle on a week. So yet watch out, you know, how much lifted weights and things like that. But man, I got to be on the field with them in the NFL. If you theives you wanna talk about a runaway freight train when there was a whole holy cow. You couldn't have paid me enough money to try to tackle him. So that was a good pick. Baio course. In a pretty obvious one. Okay. Hang on just make one more point about ten thousand career rushing yards. Even though he didn't play in two thousand four didn't play in two thousand six and had six carries for fifteen yards in two thousand seven right? Thank you. Exactly. That's. Even more amazing outta the fact that those early years we talked about the saints those teams stunk. I mean, so the fact that he made something out of those teams or even got some yards to and got the ten thousand yards is amazing. All right. Second one more credible to me. Right. Three hundred eighty three carries and forty seven catches in two thousand two that's that's four hundred and thirty touches for one year. And then the next year he had four hundred forty two touches incredible. Right. The dolphins did to him. It's it's almost criminal. What the dolphins did too? Pretty amazing. And it speaks to his body. Like, I said again, he had some dense muscular body. It was pretty major. I'm going to throw somebody. That's not on our list that I forgot about here right here. I'm going with the greatest quarterback in Texas history. Vince, young Vince young deserves to be on this conversation. I mean, come on the guy you could argue he could've wanted Heisman. Yeah. They gave it to Reggie Bush Reggie Bush phenomenal year. So I get it and all that. But really at the end of the day. I don't know if a quarterback ever played a better game in a national championship game that Vince young. I mean USC let's take it back in the time. We're talking about dynasty, Pete Carroll, Reggie Bush, Matt liner, you know, Brian Cushing. They got all these stars all over their defense their team. It's being talked about this is the greatest college team we've ever seen. Nobody can beat them. And Vince young in the Rose Bowl against that team. Had just an unbelievable throwing and running performance to where. Hey, I played. I was a senior when Vince young was a freshman. He's one of the freaky athletes I've ever been around and he went onto the NFL and had a pretty decent career himself there to thirty one and nineteen is a career starter for the Tennessee titans. I know it wasn't all perfect. But life wasn't exactly perfect around Vince young either he made a lot work at a guy that I got a lot of respect for for the ability. He had in the field, especially what he did. And that two thousand six Rose Bowl game. That was one of the greatest performances of all time. I remember the first time I ever saw him play early in his Texas career. I thought that guy is so skinny remember he was so skinny and slight and he would take off and it was a blur. And he just kinda gradually got larger and larger and larger into his NFL career. But you know, the offense of rookie of the year in two thousand six he was on the cover of mad. Oh, eight. Why do you think it all fell apart for him because he was just washed out by two thousand twelve and never to really be heard from again? Yeah. That that's a really good question. You know, again, I think Vince made some decisions that he probably regrets looking back at it. You know, you know, maybe a little immature again, I think we're all little quick to judge. Some you know football players who come into the league's. And we don't really understand their background how they were raised the things they've had a deal with then they get to the NFL and a million people want access to them all the sudden all the people from the hometown come out of the woodworks and put a handout gimme a money. Gimme car helped me you've been so fortunate. Bob, blah, blah. I just think there was a lot of incidences like that along with Vince, you know, maybe not making some great decisions himself. And yeah, the career he gotta just lost control that they're the end. All right. I have to go with Jamaal Charles since this is in honor of him. And I looked up his college stats per carry even more impressive than at the NFL level. Six point two yards per catch. Harry for his entire career at the university of Texas. There's another guy thought about but factoring in NFL career. Jamaal Charles had the better career as the running back at both the college in the NFL levels, and again, congratulations to the mall. Jamaal Charles on a great career, and who knows guys retire and hey guys get injured, and they think they're retired. And you never know what's going to happen. But I have a feeling he's he's calling it quits, and he has had a tremendous career, Chris. No, he really has. And I mean, just a guy that I think we've we've pretty much well stated here he deserves to be in the should he be in the hall of fame conversation as it becomes time for him to come on the ballot six years from now. I mean, he was that special. And I do think he got completely overshadowed and the Adrian Peterson era, and the fact that Jamal is such a nice guy soft-spoken wasn't like a commercial appeal kind of flying under the radar. There's some really good team. So I'm with you there. Okay. My last pick. Let's let's Gotcha. What? To keep the audience right round three. Stay tuned to find out to kicks. In this Wednesday draft on Eli. Getting chills hook up. Ticketing roles. You wanted detachments yesterday. Hi, I'm Frank Thomas. The big hurt after I left baseball. I just couldn't stay shape. Like, I used to turns out was hit forty your body has less.

"Years, and to be able to to live a dream that, you know, put off for myself as a young kid to go -ccomplish all the hard work that it took to get here knowing that there's more work to be put into more. But this the to realize that, you know, all the work was worth it. That's going to be a an unbelievable moment for me. Well, congratulations on all that work. Dwayne good luck Thursday night and congratulations on graduating in may as well with the degree in journalism. Very impressive. And I wish a lot of luck here with wherever you do wind up. Thank you. So there's the Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins. And now onto the Stanford running back Bryce love I know that you've aspirated of one day being a doctor. What would Dr? Love say about the condition of Bryce loves knee at this time. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I mean, I I would say in a great place. You know, I'm feeling good. Not on all the boxes. Need to check off at this point to keep my goal of being ready by training camp to Jaanus. And yeah, yeah. I'm feeling good on that good stuff. So what are your expectations for your rookie year? Bryce, no, obviously. No, my desires to be out there and play, you know, showcase my time. Do what I can do and, you know, many find a way to contribute anyway that I came when you go around to these teams how much time do they spend on a medical checkup with you physical your knee, and how much time do they spend with you in meetings visits on the whiteboard? Doing different things. Oh, be honest. I say is more. So on the on the whiteboard and just talking ball. You know, I was blessed in learn from Shaw blessed a letter from coast boon, coach Goud and just give me that knowledge. You know talking ball being able to you the engine out of different players different times says protections and good stuff medical manages, the the combine. And of course, you know, retakes, but just probably about average time. See anything crazy anytime ever doing anything? So. Yeah, you bring up coach, Sean he's actually compared you to Jamaal Charles. And he says your speed reminds him of Joey Galloway and rocket Ismail. Have you ever heard those comparisons before? Yeah. Yeah. I've heard goes off, you know, definitely. And yeah, of course, appreciative all those plays. Not grew up watching, you know, my dad's talked about them all the time. Of course, Jamaal Charles fan growing up a different place in my life. No. Of course, that's a blessing decided to be out be able to go out there. And you know, showcasing I I am. am I guess if he's comparing to Jamaal Charles and Joey Gallo and rockets, you don't get the nickname baby bolt as you were called back in Wake Forest for nothing. Correct. Is at twelve year old. While you were at Stanford. You also got a chance to be a team at a Christian McCaffrey. What did you learn from Christian during your time together Stanford or put it into into words, no to be honest with you just so much? Of course course on the field. You know, going through different Brett's when different routes different cuts how to treat your body. How to take care of yourself beyond that? I mean, just everything mental, you know, attitudes. My say, you know, what it takes to accomplish those things and to be great, you know, really left a lasting impact on the will carry on to my professional career. Could you imagine being a team of his going to Carolina that ever cross your mind? Oh, yeah. Yeah. You know, we raise the put, you know, the gang back together for that. Then make love back out there. If you weren't times won't fight that also when you're at Stanford you a runner up for the Heisman Trophy to Baker Mayfield. Did you get to spend any time with Baker in New York, Bryce and see what he was like and see the type of impacted he'd have at the NFL level. Yeah. Yeah. I mean. Yeah, we were up there with a Baker, and the mar, and, you know, of course, seeing the success that they both have from the obviously have the time..

What else did he? No, you're right. You're right Chang will take place view, right then. So I fight too. Design. They make them Cannella why because they need subscribers. I think he goes head to head with Jacobs before the canola for you, you crazy can already done and sealed that's may fifth casualty point. Oh, gee, yes. No. Can those fighting Daniel Jacobs in Vegas? Okay. No, no. I meant the other way around. So so look if you triple g how old are you? Anybody can help me out here. Thirty six thirty six thirty six thirty six years old you looking at those be honest you looking at Jamaal Charles. And he's looking like, you know, what you can do that. Are other titles over there? No. But guess what? It's more than forty five million. It's more the words used by the writer are. More overall and even bigger to describe how much more so he says Gluskin supposedly is in one lesser Pfeiffer, even bigger money into zone is offering then Jamaal Charles oh for more overall money in the paper view. "Now, remember we talked about this on Sunday. The didn't take away anything. They couldn't stop the run. They couldn't stop the pass. And that's what's going on here skill Bella check. He can't stop the run. And when you can't stop the run you subject, especially if you've got decent quarterbacks, and that there sometimes get you can't stop the run the quarterback isn't very good. And so they can't punish to the tune of forty yards. But when you can't stop the run and Kansas City running you look at it in twenty fourteen. Now, David's Jamaal Charles not only were they running the football. They were catching the ball out of the backfield on forty one on them. Again, the opening night that Thursday night. What was it last just get two years ago? What happened Kareem hunt birth scene? Ninety eight yards receiving over one hundred and forty five yards rushing when you can do that skip you're at the teams mercy. And now you throw in mama homeboy. Now, this what we know. Now, they did all I know you like oh. Alex Amir toward when they had spoke. No, you have smoking violent. You know, what I feel very comfortable? This is so nice of you skip Bayless to allow me to talk without so rudely interrupted like you normally do point out that I have not spoken because you just tried to put words in my with our new the thing is that with Patrick Mahomes is that when you score like they score you can't Dink and dump the ball. You have to be willing to put yourself in harm's way. And sometimes you're gonna turn the ball over. But you're gonna get those home run threats down the field. Tyreek hill in two games each game. He has at least seventy five yard touchdown catch. He had what had one forty three on the first game. They played this time. He had won forty something and three touchdowns. So skip when you have that counterbalance when you can run the football coach check wants to stop that run. And he can't stop the run, MS talented. Jamaal Charles had the has the highest yard tip of anybody with a minimum of thousand cares. That's Jamaal Charles. That's what they're trying to stop. And then Kareem hunt. We know what he represented his rookie year 'cause he led the league in Russia. And now you come back to remote there last time. They get remember that. And then tyreek hill was unbelievable. Travis kelsey. So that's what it is..

"But when he came here to Kansas City, he was given some some some running backs in the room that did no one ever know about sometimes. And he was he took he took a lead it developing. The Jamaal Charles Spence wears, you know, taking hunt from where he was drafted in development to be a leading leading rusher. As far as in a year for the NFL taking taking running backs in creatine age on his shoulder and having them run with the passion is not something that you look on every team in NFL and that every team possesses that coach be enemy has been able to. Especially that running back room kind of take lemons and make lemonade sometime now that the guys are sour. They're not good players. But I don't think anybody would expect type of production. We've seen we've seen the running back position over the last couple of years here without Coachman even blessed with some good players to even besides AP. Like you came in here and cream hunt was here. Jamaal Charles psych to me, you gotta have good players. Not to say that he's not a great coach. But he's also had some fantastic town. These are the words from Jay Glazer of the Atlantic. I love Eric enemy really connects with players. Well, and he's learned under Andy Reid for a long time. Now, he's very creative and instantly energizes a room. And I don't think he would lose himself. That's happened. Sometimes two guys when they get a head coaching job. They somehow lose themselves or lose the ability to pull the trigger on something or become someone. They're not he doesn't see that happening with Eric. You're in the training camp room coaches room as an intern a fellow this this. Last this past summer. What did you make of the enemy behind closed doors? What did you see from him when he dealt would guys and getting his hands on some of these players? I I saw the same thing in any fan who came up to training camp heard Phil coach me enemy on a daily basis. He didn't mix words he led his emotion show. If a player, you know, backfield guy jumped went wrong way wasn't prepared into the huddle. He made it known early often his expectation of guys being ready to go and go at how level coming out that bag field overall when he took possession of the offense that just got got spread to the entire offense that same emotion passion. He used to hold that standard of professionally hill to his only has running back room. Now got expanded to cover the entire offense of set. So this is one of the most loud and rowdy often sides of the ball is from coaching stamp when ever seen as far as training camp. But I knew you'd be back from the barber shop. I mean, we both get here because purple barbershop nothing to want because everybody's here when the team he's like the the barb of the pros, and it comes to Kansas City, but even hearing be enemies, the Meena and speaking to individuals young men in the barber shop the way he carries himself is always been one of influence. He doesn't he doesn't let the wind blow him. It doesn't shake his character. His demeanor his integrity. He stands pack. He has a great foundation. And I think he he expresses that to two men in expect him to step up to to emulate that same type of integrity so shout out to coach Vienna me as far as his character and his demeanor. I look at these teams that are interested in interviewing him here. Again, he said no to the cardinals New York Jets. Miami dolphins. Tampa Bay bucks. Cincinnati bengals. Is there really good fit? Among those teams. I don't think those are any good situations..

"Maybe Bob's moving on like just thinking out loud. I'm just I'm spittle the plan for whether it's Bob or entities. They're moving on. It's just a matter of if they do that. Like Craig said, you're kind of just like saying, hey, the defensive failures have been on Bob Sutton, and we're moving on from like pointing a finger, and I don't think that's Andy Reid style. I think they could probably position it pretty easily though. But I get what you're saying the same time. All right. Kenny wit the coke. Our guy can't feel win. Jamaal Charles re tweeted, your brief shade. I actually didn't notice that like for the longest time. It didn't. He did. Like, I I've been throwing a lot of college shade. It's probably shade patching Bohm's is a better MVP candidate. He is the MVP at anyone who says he's not the MVP is just trying to get re tweets, and I it's so absurd. There's a million ways to slice it except for drew Brees complete seventy four percent of his passes. But eighty percent of his throws are in the flats like, let's let's move on your this. It's absurd. Patrick Mahomes is the clear-cut MVP candidate. And it's not even close. So just stop with his drew Brees nonsense. Great year. Drew brees. Congrats through thirty two touchdowns. He threw less than one touchdown or less than like seven games this year. Like this. It's stupid. It's stupid, Panama hones, your MVP. Don't disrespect Patrick Mahomes by putting drew Brees name in your mouth. So I'm I'm just Jamaal Charles has retweeted my drew Brees slander because I feel like I've been hitting the jewelry shade pretty hard for longer than kit. So the fact that his got re tweeted by such a great she's actually hurts me deep to the core. Because I feel like my Jew. If you've been better than Ken, let's kids got some phone pawns and stuff like that. But what we hold on. I've been I've been I've been on. I've been on the the stats machines finding all kinds of good drew Brees patch bones. Stats? It's all about the funny and Jamaal Charles. Did I have been hammering these versions you breeze primetime game where he laid in. Egg that he lost the Cowboys. He was just struggled up and down the field. I've been hitting all these I had that he was benched for two quarterbacks this year at different times. Any of this? And you're just over here on a bunch of stats from box score scouting and whatnot though. It's okay. It's okay. Must be really nice to just be able to spend your weeks because the offense is so awesome. Being able to sit around and make fun of other quarterbacks. Instead of you know, writing about how terrible your team is. Yeah. It's it's a rough life, man. I tell you what real rough hell Alhag asks do you believe that someone other than Bob was behind the wards Scandic and Lucas Parker decisions to get speculative? So I I was kind of alerted by our buddy kennywood Toco today that there's a rumor kind of running around the Mike Smith has kind of helped with some of the game planning and that Al Harris head as well. I just I just don't know that that doesn't seem again, I could be the case it could be the case. It's definitely feasible. I know that Andy took ownership of the ward Scandic lucre Lucas Parker situations right after the game. And I'm not buying that. Yeah. And then three days later in a press conference. Andy said that all of those decisions are. Bob in the defensive coaching staff. So I think that that it is informed by the defensive coaching staff. I do think that Bob does have some input. But I don't know that you can necessarily say that someone other than Bob is that seems a little conspiracy theories not out of the question, but a little bit conspiracy theory. My thing is if if nothing's changed from the year earth throughout the year. Why has this changed? Just now been made if nob- if nothing difference happening, and I'm not saying it's Bob making the Coles or Mike Smith or hair is now just something is now different. And it changed before the Seattle game..
