"So he was that kind of player, but the last time everyone talks around this 50, 40, 90 number. That was 2019. So kind of a long time ago now last year he was 31% from three. Last year was a tough year from three for sure. And in limited minutes. But the year before he's 38, it was 45, 38, 87. So I mean, I know you're throwing those out there. Those are terrific numbers, 39% from three. A season ago. Just trying to explain why you got him at this point. And I totally agree. And I think that that's, you know, you have to factor that into your overall thinking and hold on one second here. So that's the opposite of the notion I put out there is that this might not be a move saying we're going to go all in on brogden at this spot and get rid of smarter pivoting another direction with KD, adding him to this group that allows you to have other pieces in place, smart, white, maybe even prichard, although I think Pritchard's time here is probably coming to an end with a move like this. You could sustain an injury to brogden and still be okay because you have smart because you have white. So if you're looking at this team and saying, it's going to stand and this is going to be the group they carry into next year. You could sustain a 50, 60 game brogden seeds, and you're not so reliant on him that if he gets hurt, your seasons thrown into the dumpster. You have a ton of depth at point guard and, you know, you might be as well positioned as anyone to acquire a player like broaden and get the benefit out of them. The only thing you have to add at this point is back up big. So is it Thomas Bryant? Jalen Smith, there's a bunch of good options still out there. I like Dwight Howard a lot, who hasn't been mentioned much. Don't ever say that to me. I like what he brings to the table at this age, and how he's moved into a role player. I don't know if the personality fits, but man, in can play as a bench big. You know, that's why you stand? I wasn't at the height of his powers. I think he's absolute clown. I don't think he takes it seriously. I don't think any of his teammates like or respect him. I think everywhere he goes, people are like, why is this guy here? I just, I'm not, I just don't like what he's selling. I'm not interested, sorry. Just never happened. And there's a bunch of options out there. Maybe it's personal. And you're right, you know, physically a person like that on a, you know, but I don't know what that guy's. I don't know what that guy's motivation. He wasn't great. Now it's 37 years old too. You know where, you know where I lost everything for him. I can't remember who he was playing for at the time, but it was, you know, they were playing Celtics and banes. And he was having his way with him early. You know, just physically, you know, kind of, you know, definitely winning the battle in the first half. And this is four years ago. And then he just got tired of running into banes over and over again because he was just a brick wall and he scored zero points in the second half against the Celtics has just watched him just wilt. He's a disaster on offense..

"For micro Scala. Thank you, magic. Chris Boucher, probably going to get more than the Lakers can pay there, but interesting, bouncy option, 29, older than you would think. Jared Culver, a guy who's kind of washed out at this point, bounced around a little bit since being drafted. He'd be a guy that you could take a flyer on and try it, but I don't think you would expect significant production out of him. Nope. Dennis Schroeder were probably not going back down that road again. So yeah, maybe, but if the Lakers had no one, no point guard, they could bring in and Dennis schroder was still out there, but again, that didn't end well between those two sides. Brandon Robinson real quick, the super chat. I hate that LeBron's incredible season was so overlooked. Sad to see a historical performance pushed to the side. Yeah, I've been saying it for a while now. I've been saying it for a while that if you are, if you are LeBron, you're looking at this season thinking this was an MVP caliber campaign. Injuries aside, if he was able to stay healthy, he was putting up MVP caliber numbers. I'm not saying he wins it, but if the Lakers were the two seat or three seed, he's in the MVP conversation. To unfortunate because he was absolutely fantastic. All right, back to it. Avery Bradley, he was a favorite of Frank Vogel's. I don't think that's going to hold a lot of sway with darvin Hamm in terms of the advanced metrics, didn't work out so well with Avery. I don't dislike Avery Bradley, but I don't think you can lean on him quite like the Lakers did in 2019, 2020. Our old friend, JaVale McGee. If the Lakers could get him, yes, please would love it. Is up there in years, but that's okay for a guy that you're not going to count on to play major minutes. But again, made 5 million, played really well for the Phoenix Suns, played well enough to where the suns are looking at Deandre 8 and thinking, do we need to give him a max contract when biz Mac biombo and JaVale McGee both also looked really good behind him if JaVale McGee was out there for the veteran minimum? Sure. I don't know if I would burn that full taxpayer mid level though and that's probably what he's going to get from somebody most likely Phoenix. Robin Lopez, another veteran center that I like a lot. If you can get them, sure, but he and his brother Brooke love love love Disney and with the Orlando Magic, he's basically living at Disney World. So you got a prime away from that. Lou Williams, we have to see if he's going to play another season up there in years. I don't think it's going to happen. Josh Jackson, young enough, but doesn't have the shooting. He's a wing, the leaders had some success last season with Malik monk who had some problems before coming to the Lakers and then looked really good. Maybe? Maybe, but I don't think he'd be the top of my list. Jalen Smith, I think, is interesting. Jalen Smith is a guy who is interesting to me because he's got the ability to step outside and shoot a little bit, physical specimen, not the most fluid player. He's a little bit awkward when he's on the floor..

"I'm saying, but you drafted poorly. That's why you don't that's what hurt you, but the idea behind it is if you take enough swings, you get your guy, you get your frig, you know, you know, who's theoretically? Yes. Who's the guy we wanted last year? Sacramento, Jesus, Halliburton. You know, you get one of those guys and you're like, okay, he doesn't have to be a star, but he's our third best player. And that's good because he's good and he's cheap and he's in year two or three and I've got him controlled for 7 years and that's awesome, you know? If you're gonna spin the wheel on all those late first round picks over the years and how many of them become a guy like that? They just drafted Jalen Smith and he's already flamed out. It's not outstanding good, but the point is it's a law of averages sort of thing. You've missed on two or three recently. If you have none of them, the point is, it's hard to do, but if you have none of them, you have no chance for a team building standpoint. It's really hard to be good if you're not bringing in and developing talent. And this is why they're behind right now is all of these guys are nee Smith and Romeo instead of Halliburton and hero. You know, like, you missed. You have prichard instead of bane. You have, you know, if you've got a couple of the other guys. You didn't miss out on Pritchard. Yeah, it doesn't mean these guys are stars. It just means you don't have you're giving away roster spots to a bunch of guys who are essentially filler right now. And that's what's killing you. Yeah, you're behind John. That's the key point as you've screwed up so much at this point. You're behind. And so you lost a lot of talent. You don't have tradable assets and you're filling your roster with guys, you don't really need..

"But I just don't know that this was it. And I hope the best for Jalen Smith. I really hope that a team takes them on a two way. Like I think he's absolutely still worth like he's a much more interesting prospect to me still at this point than Lucas Dominic is. I would rather take a chance on take a chance on Jalen Smith than Lucas amann who was on a two way with the Knicks right now. So I hope this summer someone signs them to a two way and we see what he can do. Yeah, aside from all the stuff at the top we talk about the suns. It's not as glaring. I mean, look, it's a miss. Okay, it's a miss at least for their fit, at least for the development stuff. I still think he has some untapped things that you can pull out of them in time. But when you make the finals, it's kind of like a little bit forgotten like, oh, we've got a couple of superstars here. We're doing okay. If that was like this franchise building block for a 12 one team in order to cut them, people are going to start asking a lot more questions than probably this now. Because it wasn't like a quiet story, but it wasn't like this blockbuster like, oh my God, they're releasing the number one draft pick from a year ago. With a great point, you said a year into the draft because we had such a funky draft cycle last season. Yeah, no, I think that they're success definitely helps with this being forgotten about is a miss. But like can you imagine Tyree salibur in that scheme? Oh, look, there's a bev in the cell with Mikhail bridges on the wing. No, I can't. In short. And so much of this too is, I don't want to say guesswork because we watch a lot and we evaluate analyze we over scrutinize and sometimes you don't know necessarily what is gonna come out.

"They made the finals last year. They had to pay Mikhail bridges. They are going to have to pay Deandre ayton, or at least keep some money to potentially pay him this summer, right? At the very least, like they're probably going to want to be able to match $30 million a year when someone offers him the money. So. I understand declining the Jalen Smith option, also me personally, I didn't have Jalen Smith rated as a first round guy that year. So like I understand that. And I understand cutting costs after making a mistake. It is just staggering, though, that we are at the point now where this team has decided to cut Jalen Smith after essentially a year of being there, like not even a year. He got drafted in November last year and it's November 5th and they're like, no, we're done. Thanks. Quick hook. I'm not mad at them for doing it. I was super surprised by the pick. And I think the last two years that was the most surprised I was by anybody like Josh giddy shoots up draft boards goes high, like whatever. I didn't have jaylen Smith even in that stratosphere of guys. And now I have the same like lack of surprise now of his option after being picked up because even once they drafted him, it's like, okay, so he's gonna play the four is the other 8, the four, like what are we doing here? Are you drafted a backup? When you have complimentary pieces like a tyrese Halliburton who stole on the board and now you go back and look at Jalen stuff from Maryland and he was billed as the shooting big and he shot four for 17 from three last year. They took like one this year hasn't played a lot. My hesitancy with him specifically was always that lack of bend and uprightness and stiffness he played with. He's not like a bad rim protector, but all the things we're describing is not what I would see in a lottery pick when you have a franchise level center that's staring the eyes already in arena where New Jersey. Yeah, like I thought it was a little bit weird when he made the all defense scene in the Big Ten in 2020. To be honest, I thought that was strange. This was a team that if I remember correctly, did not rate super highly defensively in the Big Ten and like had to all defense guys in the Big Ten and him and Anthony cowan, like what does, and then they had Daryl Marcel, who was the Big Ten defensive player of the year, right? Last year. So I would assume that that just didn't come out of nowhere, right? And I know for a fact didn't because there are more cells always been a good defender. Like, why weren't they elite defensively in the conference? Right? Like if you have three all Big Ten defenders, and it's because like they just like Anthony Cowen small and jaylen Smith is not nearly as good defensively as what that accolade would tell you. He is just stiff at this point..

"Of course check out our backlog of team previews headed into the year We are rounding out into shape. I think this is a gosh. Like the wearing the final four. Now i think just about and i'm really psyched to bring is retort. Returning guests who. I always enjoy listening to their pot and just talking with them as well. And it's a salmon. Mike from over at the time podcasts. A phoenix suns podcast. More like the phoenix suns. Podcasts concern boys how are you doing. I haven't talked to you guys since. I haven't talked to you guys on pod since the nba finals are just before it How are you dude. We're doing great. Thank you thank you so much for bringing us back on. Yeah i mean. I it from day to day do well. I will say. I'm excited about this. I've said it before. We were on another similar. Podcast previewing the season. And i i said i just. I'm in various stages of grief depending on the day after the nba finals. but overall. i'd say i'm doing pretty well. Yeah i'd say it's an pass grief. I've talked myself into a into whatever's next. So i'm just kidding watching jalen smith summer league tape and hoping it means something you know. Tape doesn't mean too much but yeah if anything Yeah i mean i. I hate to just drive the knife to actually before we do that. I'll ask you on the positive note. What was it like for you guys as as people who cover in fall team and our fans like what is it like To see this team gulf from where they were to the nba finals. Because just on a human level. I think that part gets kind of swept under the rug times like i'll never forget when i grow a cavs fan but like seeing lebron come back in twenty fifteen in. The team goes to the finals. After i went and sat courtside and saw a juror. Jack dion waiters starting backcourt. Because hirers out for the game. That i went there. He'll be out for more games this year as well. But where are you guys out with that Coming into the year. 'cause i feel like that's a good reflection point. I think that salmon. I are actually probably good people to ask question because we met watching the worst sons team. Search like samina were were around watching when they were winning. You know. nineteen twenty two games. A season and i kind of a unique experience to be able to follow devon booker watch essentially every game of and And then see where. The team wasn't how awfully worried. How much heat. He took throughout that time and then see them the first time he makes the nba playoffs to go all the way to the nba finals. It was pretty remarkable and it was really fun and i think As far as on a personal note it was a learning experience for us and covering the team in the pump in for the podcast Because you know obviously the playoffs two different. Of course we watch every year regardless of if the suns are there but following a team so closely and being able to see the nuances and the changes from the regular season to the playoffs. I think was was really eye opening and fun. Especially because We salmon. i didn't episode after every game. And you had to really detailed into that so I really enjoyed it. I had a great time. I was really proud of the team. An unfortunate ending. You know hard to hate jaanus. Of course he's easily to like But unfortunate ending overall pretty remarkable experience. I think the i feel like we just learned so much about playoff basketball. I'd i'd like to believe that. The entire suns fan base. I'd like to believe kind of got a little bit smarter during the playoffs..

"Pro bowl running back. Aaron jones as he discusses interesting crypto currency and reflects on the life of his father who he lost cova back in april. What a week it was week for and there was a crazy travel we. We spent sunday night all night. Flying to los angeles monday in l. a. Getting ready for the game at so-fi stadium which will have some words about in a moment leaving from that stadium before halftime to fly to denver to spend tuesday morning in denver working on a story before we flew home. And when we got home. Tuesday night as we sat down to tape this podcast at roughly nine. Pm eastern quote comes in that the dallas cowboys have made the surprising move to move on from jalen smith their linebacker who they signed to a contract. It's still had five years in fifty point. Seven five million dollars left on his current. Deal the dallas cowboys. Still have to pay him. Seven point two million dollars. The cowboys had cold around league to see if anybody would be willing to trade for him and nobody was willing to take on that salary even with dallas offering to pay some of that salary and they still could not. Aren't somebody to take jaylen with now. Somebody would say do release them will be interested because he still can play but his performance of fall off some from the great level. It had been at that. It caused dallas to give them the huge contract that at once did and now jalen smith will look for work and by the time. Somebody hears this who knows. He may have another job. We mentioned s-o-f-i stadium. What a stadium last monday night. We were at jerry's world for cowboys. Eagles this past monday night. So by stadium for chargers raiders and his nicest jerry's world is and it's great. It's unbelievable actually think so. Five stadium beats it and the people who go to games there understand what i'm talking about and it'll be the site of this year's super bowl and as i stood on that field on monday night looking around. I said there cannot be a better stadium to host the super bowl this year. Really the year at this time then fi stadium..

"A former quarterback played in college Really phenomenal series. We started last week a blog on the boys so ultimately I'm excited to kind of see what was thinking on the interception. I think we've all kind of learned that the interception against tampa was more on cd than it was on him. But this interception against the chargers was gross. And i think the offense is a whole kind of skated in this game. And i think the deck. Oh i it's hard to say. I think again he was necessary and he led the drive. That helps the cowboys. Obviously get the game winning field goal. He did enough. He did barely enough. And sometimes that's what it takes. And ultimately what i would say to that is if anyone on the team arguably if anyone in the. Nfl has earned the right to skate for a week and have his team carry him. It's probably dak prescot. I mean he's been. The guy is scary them. We talk so much about you. Know this was the fifth four-game with mike mccarthy enact prescott on the cowboys and the first four were volatile the first four or deck on the couch trying to do something to help him out in so the fact that jack was able to just kind of not get in the way a ton i think is fine by you. Know certainly would have loved to see something better. Salaam says dak was good morning. I did think that you know. Calendar get a little cute so it is what it is but a find performance. Now scott thank you for super chat. Scott says what about the depth depth came up huge on this game. It's been a long time since we had this kind of depth all over the field. And i think this kind of works with the deck idea because obviously the depth that the quarterback position wasn't something that was a factor today against the chargers depth along the team. Right like that's what this is about and i think that's what your point might be scott. I don't want to speak for you. It's your money your super chat. But i mean this was a game where the cowboys had other people carry them. Other people contribute the j. Ron curses the demonte. Akc's deterrent steals. Is the osa digging who is also a really nice game. I mean there were a lot of cowboys players. And you know what i mean. I don't want to upset anybody. But i'll go ahead and go this direction. One of my honorable mentions scott. And i think this fits well with depth. Jalen smith jalen smith. I thought this was one of jalen. 's better games as a dallas cowboy certainly better games in the last three years and the cowboys had to rely on him to scott's point about depth because they played mike. Parsons defensive end because they had mike. Parsons rushing the passer. Because michael parsons all the way involved in different things. Jalen smith had to be way more involved in terms of the way we all would have ultimately. Preferred him not be Tim logan's has agreed on number nine. Chris randall says jalen decent. And i'm not trying to say that the bar is low because then you get all the trials that are like it's so sad. The cowboys used to be all. That wouldn't super bowls now decent. The bar no. We're not saying that what we're saying is you know. He's people don't have the highest opinions of jalen smith that's generally the consensus so the fact that he came in in a moment where the cowboys really needed him and succeeded is worth to overlook lots of people. Take the opportunity to bag to trashed. Make jokes to share memes. Whatever so we should celebrate when things were dances. Jalen did play better. I can't deny him that agree with you. Let's see here Let's see Kevin's jalen was okay. Crawford's has agreed as crawford. Where yet losyukov agreed. I was afraid. Eleven defense amendment more now but he played well agreed. Let's see here. Let's see let's see. Let's see luther. Just coming in kelly. Trust me out but goodwin totally agree. dan brockett said jalen player. He was playing for his job. Yeah he of did. I mean burmese star says. Yeah i got to give a hat tip solid game. Crispy says thoughts on zeke all right. Let's have this conversation. I've gotta rupiah here today. We're talking about price picks. Which is the hot new thing in the world of daily fantasy and to be honest. It's not hard to see why people are getting all the way into this. Here's how it works. You pick anywhere between two and five players and take the over or the under on some specific stat projections for the day. That's it it's just you against their projected numbers get it right and you could win up to ten times you put down on any entry. And here's the best part prize. Pigs has a ton statistical categories to choose from including yards receptions touchdowns fantasy points and more you can even create a mix sport entry where you take say the overrun points. Kawai and the under on zeke touchdowns which is pretty incredible true. So many sport you can think of in create an entry in.

"Have a possibility to move jalen smith. He only played sixteen snaps. Vander ashley played fourteen snaps and so they're making it pretty obvious. Mike is the guy. I mean that that dallas coaching staff essentially said before that game. Kid defense it's demarcus lawrence upfront. Mike behind him. And they've got one elite corner they put on my kevin's so they got three like vital defensive players. I thought he was really good. I also let's be fair about this. Tampa's offense is a handful. It is a handful. They got something big shifty. fast technicians. Gronk i thought dallas defense mike. Parsons was a big part of this looked faster. I thought it looked rainier. Antonio brown's gonna beat guys down the field. That's going to happen every week of the year. You can't spend too much time on that. They've got too many good players. Here is gonna scored thirty points at least half the games. So i look at the final score they. They were athletic. They were rangy. But when i look at mike parsons now. It is very obvious that he was a dominating practice player and that stuff we didn't see because they just gave him. They gave him the defense he was. He was everywhere. And this is not an easy offense to defend. They can get you the up front. They can filled over the top. They can attack the middle with gronk but they found themselves a star with mike. High fifty eight passes four hundred yards three touchdowns i mean i think he came out and did everything he said he said. I'm going to start fast. I'm going to be better this year than i was last year. I think he proved that he is the same unflinching competitor as it was before the injury dickey justified for a lot of america. The hundred and sixty million dollar contract. He finally got from jerry jones and by the way they're not playing jason garrick football in dallas anymore. Ed thanks a lot for warning all the giant fans playing. Hey eight guys in the box. What are we gonna do saquon. No all lot running right out of run run. How did you. What were your overall thoughts last night that you extracted on dan queens. New defense cowboys. Yeah i really expected first of all you you see that. It's a meritocracy within quinn You know the sacred cow. Jalen smith who played ninety nine percents of the snaps last year and has made fifty consecutive starts. Since that you know overcoming that room that injury in remarkable fashion to have a career at all the nfl But obviously you let let the nfl and tackles last your dan. Quinn doesn't care about that. Dan quinn is now made late and bandra. She was a first round pick And jalen smith you know situational type players He played mike. Parsons neil for the most part in the game i was. I was a little surprised that they weren't able like i said to create some pressure on brady and the game. Everybody talks about. Everybody knows that the way. He's most like every other quarterback in the league is if you subject him to pressure and everybody says we're gonna get radio up his spot right and that's what the cowboys said coming into the game and they failed to do it now. Maybe brady's just that good because everybody says they're going to do it and very few succeed in doing so But i thought. I thought dan they got four. Three four turnovers in the game. One was a hail. Mary pass at the end of the half. Reggie never should have all That was a miscalculation by mike mccarthy to try a sixty yard field goal in those circumstances But yeah i thought defensively they show some promise had to be fair the way they're like kicking the ball you know..

"Of stay away from extra cup of coffee this morning last. Actually last thing for you tony. I wouldn't twitter's freaking out about this. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in this but jerry jones asked. I want to defend about the linebacker. Depth chart so the specific question about the depth chart in jerry said keanu. Neil mica parsons late in vander ash. Jalen smith so what are you going to say. you know. you can't really trae jalen. Smits contract was supposed to make sense. I'm not doubting his. But that's what i'm saying is under saying i mean he's got to mention because i i was thinking he's got the odd man out but consider gibreel cox and considering that he's kinda the swing van quarter. You know a linebacker know i was. I had him. I had a guy who's got a bitch slap right. I know i had a friend. Who's not a cowboys fan. And he he asking me he was like what's the deal with jalen smith like. Why do cowboys fans hate him. And it's a long story. Like i don't have the time for this. So it is what it is. But look cooper rush fine by. Hey whatever College football's back solheim cups this weekend rosters getting. It's good time for sports tani guitar. You know what. We gotta be remiss it and say when you say something about the people louisiana new orleans saints at the booth our practice up in arlington and just to the fact that what those people have to go through in louisiana every year older breath hoping that there's not a category four hurricane but Thoughts and prayers are with all the people in louisiana everyone in the path of that hurricane. I and it just a disa- tragedy. Now i agree i think. That's what said tony. Certainly we're all thinking of and praying for louisiana area. And you mentioned there. Right now didn't orleans saints not the football matters in life but From a football perspective the saints are practicing at. At and t. Stadium their home first game their home their home opener so to speak is week. One against three bay packers. It is very possible that they play that. At and t. stadium the cowboys You know obviously will be on the road and week one and week two. So eighteen stadium won't be utilized on a sunday for. We're not enough practice today. They have three days off until thursday right and so actually now that i saw the cowboys first sunday game. Let me get this right it. At and t. Stadium this year is not for a good minute. Fellow martha away right. It's more than a month away town. Yes yes so the starts next week so be what a month so i. I'd weeks the first. Two games of the season on the road for the cowboys weeks went into and then their home opener. Obviously he's at home but it's a monday night football game right so their home. Opener is not until october third against the carolina. sunday opener. Home sunday opener is not until october. Third that's mean girls day in case you care you ever seen the movie mean girls. There's a line and lindsay lindsay. Someone's yellowhammer movie. I never thought in my life that we would be discussing lindsay low. Hang on the 750. But it's just been that kind of that is great. I mean it's a cult classic and so it is what it is. Tony always great. Everybody live show on the block on the youtube channel at two. "On the topic of hating jalen smith it. Most of it at this point doesn't even come from his play. It's the lack of summer awareness around. I think people see the the Below replacement level. Play and see the constant in your face. Branding has been doing. That is much this not right right. How can you. He's not startup. he's coming onto the bed. He do it and listen. You're obviously not gonna cut him. You obviously should have done that in march especially if you plan on taking a linebacker in draft and taking another linebacker in the draft in converting another safety to linebacker all of who are better jalen smith you should have caught him before his money was guaranteed but they didn't do that. He won't be a part of the team in twenty twenty two and jerry. Not saying anything about jalen was saying everything that he needed to jalen right. So listen if you listen good enough or well enough. Jerry will tell you exactly. What the truth is you might say in a weird way with the dumb metaphor. That's borderline not Safe for work but at the end of the day. He's going to tell you the truth and he's going to tell you that jalen socks and jalen socks that's what we've seen. He's not even that just sucks. It's that he's there's nothing that he does that is better than what the other linebackers on the team or doing so. There's not even a situation where i would wanna take any of those guys off the field in any situation for jalen smith run defense i think. Lv's better. i think. Mike is better both of them better. Affiliate gap from the interior than jalen. Smith is simply because jalen doesn't attack downhill needs to easy to get blocked coverage get outta here not happening around that. Mike parsons who. I didn't even see covering college. Pass rush like what we always talk about. Oh well why. Don't we just make him say national passenger hasn't been a good pass. Rusher since notre dame we just held onto hope that he would be able to do that because his biggest issue early in his career for the cowboys was his inability to move laterally. Take that away by being able to get north south as a pastor shirt but now he can't just do he just can't do anything and we're gonna play. He looks like he's playing with torn achilles like when i talked about the lack of confidence and getting all exploding and engaging and pushing through blocks like there's just nothing there from a power perspective and that was all his game was based on for a while was just i. I think it's i think he looks like he's trying to create confidence in himself to try to talk himself off the ledge of not being a good football player anymore. I think he's trying to prove to himself that he can do it and that he is a good player but he's not down. He knows that i do appreciate that. I feel like he did gain a little bit of feel over the like you said like you kind of have to. When the team drafts two linebackers biggest free agent edition was a safety. They can like you have to understand that point. Like oh shit like oh. This isn't good. But but i do appreciate the little bit of feel because i mean again. There's times last year where he was playing terribly. It would after the game. Just go turn on the tape like thumb. We can turn on the tape so like i do appreciate that. He hasn't been saying stupid stuff like that anymore. But it's almost 'cause it's almost out of necessity because yeah it surely can't because they've added three linebackers gebriel cox probably hasn't jumped him on the depth chart yet but in two thousand twenty two. That's the teams hope is that gebriel cox takes down smith. Uh not not position. You know different position but role on the team. So but yeah i mean like i said it's it's it's tough because people always want to point to. We'll just turn them into a pass. Rusher and i put a tweet the other day. I'm like he's not good at that like he might be worse than being a pass rusher than he is a linebacker and he's not good either now so i mean again. Any one who is truly you know saying that. He is a good even a good linebacker. Right now is not either watching the games the right way. They're not watching them at all or they have some sort of personal bias in those people. Meghan brennan may thing. The main thing. I seen on twitter from those kind of people are. He's like pointing to the Total tax that you made. This is proof that he's an elite linebacker. Eat just made a pro bowl. Lead top three tackles mike tax. Because nobody else in a deep bench was making tackles. The d. line was terrible It's not like he's making those tackles. Make an impact with those staples like they weren't type of for losses they weren't being moments and everything like that was just more volume stanton anything like that. I think people are looking at the box. Score is great but it's we all want him to be good. Just not right now. Roy and that's the thing is i want to understand like like people always tweet me when like. Oh you know mike. Parsons is playing really good and like dude. Like i am one thousand percent okay with admitting when i'm wrong on a player like my my migrants with parsons. Even about his talent again. There was like the coverage questions. I thought were a little. He's kind of shut those up but like there was some rawness to his game it. Maybe you're like Is it going to translate fully. And that's gonna continue man he he's still going to have to learn to more quickly diagnosed things and it right. He's new to it. Names been offered a year too so When we get into real game action. We're probably going to see a little bit less effective. Mike parsons than we have in the preseason. Just because he's going to be going.

"Think they really really maxed out last year. And i have a hard time believing they can put put have the same exact chemistry on this. I didn't really want to spend too much time talking about the senate just because like i think that they're like they're obscene was very key. I mean they added jovial and that was about it. Yeah i think that that signing is helpful. They're going to not have dario saric next season. Most likely which hurts. But maybe jalen smith can step in and be productive and then they're also going to be playing just a lot of confident basketball with a lot of continuity which i value. I think this way. I also think that you will be really good Landry shamet is as a nice addition for them. I don't know if he'll be in the rotation in the playoffs or anything like that but Yeah i just. I just think they're good and they'll there are really good regular season. They know themselves. They know they wanna play. They are vulnerable a little bit. Maybe to chris paul injury and we'll see how that kind of works. Its way out if they're able to to stay above water if slash win that happens But yeah like i i just. I haven't. I didn't give them too much that when i was going through this just because i have a lot of respect for them i think they're really good and We'll see we'll see how they do role on that pretty much. Does it for today's show. Is there anything else that That we missed that you wanted any other points. She wanted to make men. Not really only that. When i was listening to you and chris and then going through all these rosser just got me excited all over again for the nba season to start. I think it's gonna be really interesting season. And i'm just it's weird. How they're still some free agents left on the board at you usually doesn't drag on this late. I'm very quickly. What happens buddy healed josh heart. Larry markkanen who aren't obviously big stars. But i think is who can have an impact depending on where they land so very interesting kind of how the rest of the free agency shapes that was a terrific point but he healed is under contract and not a free agent but On that note we will end today. Show with hans agrees mistake. Everyone please email us in. Open for male gmail.com. Open floor male edgy. Mother come let us know what you think about our tears. What are your tears for both conferences. What did we guy. What did we get wrong. Why does michael insist on having the size of his tears being too big et cetera. Exactly so yes. "The dan quinn is not exactly then You know buddy ryan the last couple of years so just to assume i know he's a name and people like the guy but he has not been. Some schematic genius right. I i would say atlanta definitely over the last. You know since kyle left. It felt like they were joke on defense right. And he is a defensive guy when they hired him. He was pete's defensive coordinator so to assume that he just gonna come and fix everything now. The kid they drafted from penn state. That guy's a baller back. I can relate to the other guys the lawrence who they signed a couple of years ago to a big deal as underachieved you know. They lost a corner last year and free agency the miami dolphins so it's just like are they even that vander as she gets her all the time. Jalen smith who jerry was so proud of signing because of what he overcame ask some deficiencies like you could. Argue are just like their offense is talented. Is their defense really talented. Like even if dan quinn does a good job you know. Do they really have the horses over there. Especially in that division because that division with the with the giants indefinitely the and the football team They have good defense. So maybe you can neutralize the cowboys. A little bit and you can score on them but the cowboys i you know. I don't think it's crazy to say they should compete to win that division. If dak played seventeen games. John middlekauff three now has a podcast. I encourage you to download it as he will be getting ready to. I'm sure tape another one here in the very near future. Thanks so much for joining us. "Listen man he's under a lot of scrutiny. And you know there's nobody more critical of jalen than than me on his podcast. But it's my be my con- but you jalen smith so far by the way is what jalen smith so far. Why would have you seen. It's not what exactly okay. I haven't seen anything all. I heard his. I've seen dancing. And i have i saw. Lv make plays. I've seen like in training and training camp. I haven't seen anything from him. All i heard as he compared him compare himself to a michael jordan and lebron james who did Jalen smith saying. I did see something on the way in here. I think john owning. He's he was like. Yeah you know. Everyone's get scrutinized even michael jordan and lebron but it's just like just play ball man. Just show us what i'm saying. I got faith in him. I know you. I know you do george michael you say george i listen again. There's there's nobody had sorry became that injury you know. He worked his ass off to get there and we know we have. Let's just see what happens this season. That's all man. Yeah no we could definitely take the wait and see approach for one more year. I guess you know 'cause he can For him you can all right. Yeah i mean look. Here's the thing. really quick. Search micro all the pros and cons. I've come out with have pretty much been players. I've been hard on. Okay my one con in my head was the Jalen smith and that was the one. But all the rest of the pros. I have have been players. I've been hard on. Yeah i was i. I was on the The blogging the boys youtube channel Last week right before training camp started. And i said to them i said look. Nobody's questioning jalen smith. The person you know what i mean. Nobody's questioning what he does off the field. It's great all his foundations of great dude right. It's just you got you got to get on the field and you gotta prove it to us man like we're we're very tired of it. We've addressed it significantly as far as like drafting. Parsons drafting cox. Dr- you know moving guys. Around signing neil moving him down to linebacker so there's a lot of things that's working against jalen smith and hopefully just hopefully there's a fire on there s and we'll see what happens. Yeah yeah yeah and look there. It's they should be embarrassed. You know let's like. I said i i wouldn't even be like i'd like your right like if i bombed eight nights in a row and then now they're like listen. We breads off his game. I gotta be like you know what i am. I got to figure out how to get out of. This slump is for myself. You know what i mean. Yeah dude back to the dancing. To like i remember the in the end the campos hard knocks the slip and slide the thing now but not no the What's it called. The emmett smith like was driving the boss. Do you remember that. No i just i know that was the two thousand one. That was the first time they're on hardtalk. Campos one yeah camp okay. Yeah but i met stuff like that. He was doing for the cameras because he thought it was. That's that's my that's trying to say like like there's something when cameras are around people. Were there they act differently. They're all kids at this point bro. We look this is. This is definitely like the age of tech talk. You know what i'm saying. I know you don't want nobody wants. Nobody wants that. I think there's going to be a lot of cool things to take away from her knocks. But i'm not going into hard knocks again because we'll just wait to see the watch the first episode and we'll be like oh so we'll see about that well anymore negatives or cons out of out of the first weaker. We're ready to talk good about the dallas cowboys. Kind of that's kind of it for me Yeah i even you know. I have came off. Came after a kelvin..

A Telsa Model S Refresh?

A Telsa Model S Refresh?

"You've been telling me about why. I think there's going to be a model as an ex refresh. Yeah and there was like it was really hard to test drive them. There were like upping the sales out of everything they were. You couldn't see them in showrooms anymore night. This big list of rumors as to why we thought it might happen and then like an hour ago. It just all unveiled so well. So there's a there's a lead up to it the the model s. design is it's like ten plus years old at this point like fundamentally. The design of the car is unchanged since the beginning rate. So there's one small outside refresh her where the front grill nose cone. that was an exterior. Like look change. Is that what you call a nosecone nosecone. Yeah i've always just called at the grill. But obviously it's not. It isn't enact plastic nosecone two more metal okay but The autopilot versions changed. But really fundamentally the inside has always been that vertical screen and it's always been the same doors. Same door handles same shape so they've never really changed the model s. in car years. That's a long time let alone tech years that's forever. Yeah so. The rumors have been building for a long time. And we kind of were like. I think that this earnings call on wednesday were according to one night. Just say you know yeah have plans to possibly make video about all this. But we're recording on wednesday night and during the earnings call. They update the site. They give the over all the stuff and dropped a new model lesson ex and yet it's something is there's a lot to it. I guess we'll just. I'm just going to go down the list. This obviously isn't a video podcast yet. But i do have a lot to say about the aesthetics and the things that they've changed right. Yeah maybe i'll use this template as like a guide for the video. What i make it. We'll see i almost debated telling you throw camera up here and just take the clips out and turn it into the youtube video also. Yeah so right off. The bat outside changes are pretty small. They turned all the chrome black kind of like they did with model three and model. I every single car company do that. Please stop with the chrome. I think toyota has been doing it. A bunch with just maybe not even like their door handles and window trim but they've been doing it with their emblems and like the wording and names on the back and they looked so good on every single caller romo terrible. Please stop. Yeah feel old. Basically starting to feel a little bit outdated so it's gone from the car. I think maybe just the logo the last chrome piece. but that's that's pretty sweet and then There's a little bit of a different shape up front a little bit of a more simple grill at the bottom. For the front splitter and different fog i think i read people were saying it looks like the air like in vents are a little bigger probably to help battery cooling yup the better battery performance and i think that leads us beautifully into the new specs before i talk about the interior. So it's just going to be three models model s. and i'm going to focus on model s even a model x. Got this refresh it. Basically doesn't exist tesla like they still make it kind of because they have to nightmare. Yeah there's not a lot of attention around the x this is about the s. I'm just talking about this. Yeah i'm just trying to think of. Who's the i feel like the x. Still gets a lot like in the blogger community. A couple david dobric jake paul logo on it. There's jailers very her. Jalen smith jr jada jason. What's his son's name. Now you've got me thinking. Smith i don jaden has one. There's some there's small market for the ex. Yeah but the model s. is where it's at so there's really just three versions now. And by the way. I'm gonna say overarching for this. Whole thing is simplicity. Dustless manufacturing simplifying line vehicles. So there's three there's a long range model s a plaid model s and a plaid plus model s. so model s long range has four hundred twelve mile range zero to sixteen three point one seconds dual motors and it's. It's a pretty standard. Look that's like what probably most people getting a model less would get then. The performance version is your plaid model s. which goes directly to triple motors. It drops a little bit range three hundred ninety miles but it goes two hundred mile an hour. Top speed and zero to sixty in one point nine nine seconds. I'm gonna say that one more time just in case you didn't hear it this. Several thousand pound four door family car. Hatchback does zero to sixty in one point. Nine nine seconds like you need to like take a an advanced driver's test in order to get something that can go under two seconds to pilot this thing. Yeah yeah every time. I think about like performance cars on the street. I'm like i icy regular people driving cars poorly all the time and i just get a little bit worried about giving them that much power. There's a whole youtube rabbit hole of great like mustang arm beats of people just like wrecking it into the median pulling out yet i mean i guess the good thing is this is all wheel. Drive is the safest car on the world. This is a car that's tries really hard not to crash itself but yeah lot power here but just so you know that's starting at one hundred twelve thousand nine ninety which has ten thousand more than the previous model and then plaid plus is eleven hundred horsepower versus that one thousand twenty of plaid zero to sixty. There are a little more vague with this under one point nine nine seconds. So it'll be faster. We don't know how much faster it's still trip promoters. And it'll do the quarter mile in less than nine seconds which would make it. The quickest zero to sixty and the quickest quarter-mile acceleration in any production car. Ever and again. this is not yet the roadster. This is just a speck. Yeah but the most interesting spec to me of plaid plus is it still triple motor. There's new battery info but it goes five hundred twenty plus miles on a charge. So what was the long range again. Four sixty long-range was four. Twelve for twelve plaid was down to three ninety and then plaid plus was five twenty so this leads me to believe that. Plaid plus is a different battery technology. Do you think it's the one. Because that's sounds around the specs of the roadster was supposed to have right exactly roadsters. Got us six twenty plus quoted mile range and on top of that. This is the one other thing that's really interesting. I'll just touch on the x for a second. I don't think this is happening the x. Because if you go to the model x. site you can see you have the long range version which has a three hundred sixty mile range and the plaid version which has a three hundred forty mile range. So there's no plaid. Plus so whatever's happening with plaid. Plus is i guess this ultra high end security premium powertrain and battery system that only the high end model s. And i guess eventually roadster star gonna get it. Sounds like it's just a roadster with a model spotty it's a four door roadster four door to door. Yeah no it's it's a it's a crazy it's crazy car i. I'm prefacing all this with like. I don't need it. I'm not gonna get it. I'm gonna wait till the roadster but also this is absolutely insane. What they've done now really. The the most important part is the inside of the car that they've updated so like i said simplicity's sake finally switched to the horizontal touchscreen inside which i think looks pretty good. It's like a little more well integrated with the car doesn't stick out as much as three. Yeah i think what i like. I like that. But i liked that. They kept the screen in front of you. Like a regular odometer like they have in the model s. already because like three and y. I'm fine with that screen. There i only thing is. It's a little weird that you have to look over seer odometer but the fact that you have a better spot there and you still have your regular like driving odometer with a high acid and speaking of that steering wheel hobo this is this is the interesting went and i think this is where a lot of people are polarized because this interior looks very similar minus steering wheel if you look on their site. It's a yoke style steering wheel and it's almost kinda squared off. So it's like the bottom half of a square steering wheel and then there's a bunch of buttons on the steering wheel itself and there are no blinker stocks. No windshield wiper stocks. Nothing behind the wheel. No paddles no nothing yeah. Let's paint a picture here though. Because i've never heard the term yoke style and i only understand it because i saw the picture right before so picture fighter jet handles like that. Yoke style top trying to top office doing rectangle and doesn't have a top part. So yeah i'm just like i was just trying to think about using it. In general it seems so cool for like straight line in like minor turns on a highway but exactly turning around in a parking lot or like a tight driveway or something seems miserable on it. Yeah i this is one of those things where i'm imagining it and i'm imagining it really poorly and i think i'm just going to have to try it because as of right now i don't even think this is legal to ship yet. I think you technically have to have enclosed steering wheel and then people earliest you have to ship it with one and the people can modify it later. I think that's technically the rule here in the us. I don't know the rules internationally. But i've never seen a car actually ship with a yoke steering wheel before so again. This is all tb will see it happens. But i think i'm going to have to give it a shot because it's really weird.

Notre Dame Ranks in Top 5 College Football Programs

"I watched the clips of brian. Kelly press conference and he looked like he was exact exasperated. And i don't know if you're a notre dame fan. How do you feel about this. Because he's i mean he's a really really good coach. We do these top. Twenty five lists every year and brian. Kelly definitely should be in the top five and they have really good players. But i don't know and he's right alabama's done this to almost everybody. They actually didn't do it. The florida but you know was there were still you know it's like we'll see if ohio state gets closer. So let's let's fill people in on the quotes if they didn't see them after the game not surprisingly. Maybe he was surprised. I don't know he was asked a lot about. How does the here how frustrating the question was how frustrated is. How frustrating is it to get to a playoff again lose by this margin the margin not the issue. Losing his losing. I don't know really. What the inferences. This football team battled and they made more plays they being alabama made a few more. Plays on the perimeter. I'm not sure really what the question is when you lose football games you know. There's a few more plays jeff to make. We had the opportunity. You watch the game. I watched the game So everybody needs to continue to carry this narrative that not not good enough. Look at the scores of the games. The albums played all year. And i think when you start changing the narrative little bit then somebody asks as you look at it. You feel like the program has gotten a lot closer. What's the next step. You feel like you guys could take need to take i. I don't really wanna continue to go down this path. We're going to keep getting here okay. And we're gonna keep banging at it and you guys watched the game in you. They had the college football player of the year. Who made some dynamic place. We battled. We were right there. So we're going to keep getting back here. And i'm sorry i don't like it or the national media doesn't like it but we're going to go back to work we're gonna keep recruiting. We're going to put ourselves back in this position again I mean i know. He's got to defend the program. And you know what's he going to say like. Oh yeah we're we're we've got a ways to go But you're right like if you're ordering fan who who still believes deep down the program. That should win the national championship. How do you feel about your coach. Basically coming on saying he's basically trying to say yeah. We don't have a devante smith. We don't have nausea harris. But we were good enough that like if we caught them on the day we could one maybe is that is that we took from it. Yeah and i'm thinking about it. It's like this notre dame team. And i would say it from the last from the jalen smith Ronnie stanley era up. So whatever it is i guess. Maybe it's the last five or six years they've had like some special athletes right. I mean ronnie stanley elite talent offensive lineman jalen field. Jalen fields. Jalen was is home. Ultra talented linebacker. They've had Kyle hamilton is as athletic as any any safety. The country i mean they have some of these guys will fuller was as fast and dynamic as any receiver just about. I mean it's not like they haven't kyran williams of big time running back they just don't have quite enough of them right. I mean like they don't have any of them. It's not like you know. The the line from joey galloway said like northwestern's a bunch of reese davis's you know the inference there is like notre dame has has some guys who would play anywhere and they've always had a bunch of good offensive linemen. They have good tight ends. I don't think they're light years away from having like a team that could win a national title. I mean they're they're a top five team. It's just you know. I don't know like like maybe this is a better way to frame it. Like if they were playing ohio state they have somehow gotten by alabama. I mean Let's take alabama out of the equation if they were playing ohio state and somehow it was a two three game. Let's say let's say that it was just a playoff game but it wasn't. You know as the i. I could see Notre dame beating ohio state. Even after what. I just saw from ohio state alpha. If justin feels plays away did tonight. I couldn't but like i don't think it's out of the realm of possibility like i think there are. You know i watched their. I think notre dame's better team than georgia. I think not notre dame honesty's a better team than florida now. It's easy to say that after you've seen some of these teams get exposed some but lake and those teams. Those teams have played with alabama on a given night right. So i just don't think they have as much margin for error right

NBA Mock Draft 3.0

"And we are back talking two thousand twenty mock draft three point o our last mock draft of the year. It's draft day draft morning. What better to unwrap and a mock draft on draft morning. it's the second round. Now now's the time to confess. I'm really terrible at projecting second rounds like you know my hit rate and some drafts has been like one two three picks in the second round. It's it's so hard to keep track of the first round the wheels to sort of come off and these picks happened like every two minutes. I it's hard to really keep track. I did my best. I project where. I think particular players can go. You definitely don't really get deep into this when you're talking the nba scouts in executives about what they're going to do in the second round. They're still trying to figure out the first round as well. So i've tried to find some fits there so this is reported more chad ford speculation. Here about what's happening. The second round starts with the dallas mavericks this pick via the warriors taking malachi. Flynn the san diego state. Junior point guard One of the guys that frankly could go ten spots higher in the draft. I actually really love malachi flynn. There's kind of a lot of point guards kind of later in the first round which may push him out a little bit. But i actually think he's the guy who could step in play right away. I would actually love him in dallas. I think that'd be great. Pick for dallas at thirty one at thirty two. The charlotte hornets are on the board. They're getting this pick via the cavs. Paul read the sophomore forward center out of depaul. Have them going thirty two. This is john. Hollinger's been super high on all year. I think he's another guy who can guard positions on the floor. I really like him. Actually think he brings some stuff offensively as well. I personally like him. Better than precious. I'm right now. Could turn out to be a terrible take. But it's kind of what i think and i definitely think he could be an excellent fit. I'm in charlotte. Especially if they end up with lamelo ball and they're gonna need to add a defensive big man. As part of that package at thirty-three the minnesota timberwolves around the board. This'll be the third pick because they have to. First round picks. Tillman the junior power forward at michigan state. Everybody loves this kid. He's he's one of these guys like high floor. Low ceiling. just does his work every day. Great rebound or plays hard. I'm ken defend going. Bring be a great locker room guy is gonna find some rotation that somewhere I like him in minnesota on a team. That is trying to go forward. I think he actually adds a bit of a veteran presence to the locker room. At thirty four the philadelphia seventy sixers are on the clock. That get this. Pick via the hawks. Isaiah joe the arkansas shooting guard who is one of the best shooters in this draft. Crazy range. High volume of three point shots philadelphia. Always in need shooters. When you're going to be playing. Ben simmons on this team he certainly constructs the floor. And i'd like isaiah joe there them at thirty five the sacramento kings Via the pistons. Dan dotson to kansas sophomore guard. Who is one of the quickest players in the draft. He's an elite score excels off the getting to the basket not a great shooter a bit undersized for his position not really a point guard that's why he slides a few spots higher but could be instant offense off the bench for sacrimento at thirty five at thirty six the philadelphia seventy sixers back on the clock this time via that pick from the mix jordan aura the louisville junior who also is one of the better shooters in this draft. He has good size vers position. Good length i'm not sure exactly what else he brings to the table besides shooting but again i'm just loading philly up i with shooters at the moment at thirty seven. The washington wizards are on the board. They get this pick via the chicago. Bulls tyler bay the junior ford out of colorado who is one of the best athletes in the strath super explosive. Really hard worker on the defensive end still just kinda coming along on the offensive. And then i think that's been a concern. He's he's one of those guys that might be a little bit of a twitter. Not sure exactly what position he plays in the pros that causes him to slide. A few picks in this draft think this is still really value. and by the way when. We're talking about a lot of these guys dotson. Tillman for example malachi flan. These guys could all end up in the first round as well. Just have them the second thirty eight new york knicks via the hornets janis ramsey. The texas tech freshman guard again volume score can shoot it a little bit We're just loading the knicks up now with backward guys that can score the basketball. I'm not sure who's going to defend in new york. But he's an intriguing prospect. He's only nineteen years old. And i certainly there's upside there with the thirtieth pick in the draft at thirty nine the new orleans. Pelicans selecting this pick for the wizards. Daniela touro the minnesota sophomore center. Who had a really really strong summer season one of the more improved players in the country very skilled at big man. I'm great size. Adding just bore skill in size to this pelicans roster i'm at the moment If you remember earlier jalen smith. I'm selected at thirteen at forty. The grizzlies are on the board. This pick via the silence. This is the first pick that the grizzlies have been able to make in the twenty twenty. Nba draft a doco as a bouquet. The kansas center. Big guy seven. Seven wingspan seven footer. Really good athlete actually just dominant player in the pain. Terrible free throw. Shooter doesn't really do anything facing the basket. But when you have that size and length and athleticism. I think you get something done in. The and kind of reminds me deondraye jordan. A little bit and a little bit surprised. He doesn't go higher. I get there seems to be a penalty on the big minner plane or pain. Right now in the draft at forty one san antonio spurs back on the on the board yama dr the israeli guard nineteen year old for hop. Well tel-aviv and you know. He's such an intriguing prospect because he plays his butt off. His incredible energy is just making a difference when he's out there but he's not really a point guard. He's kind of more of a two guard in a point guards body. He's not like a great shooter. I'm athletically he's actually not bad at all but that lack of a jump shot kinda undersized i position that makes him more of a second round prospect at he absolutely wants to leave israel and come to the nba. And if it's the g. league next year and so he could be an interesting prospect for san antonio developed down the road

Where do the Cowboys go from here? To the trade deadline — but as sellers instead of buyers

"The Cowboys easier to write about when they win or when they lose? Uh, they're easy to write about what they lose. When they win. People feel good. You sell more newspapers when they win. That's a proven thing. So there's that. But, man what you know now, sometimes when they're bad, they're just not interested. And they just kind of go away. Like I don't know what it's like to right about when the Detroit Lions are bad. They probably just people are waiting for the Red Wings to drop the puck. But when the Cowboys are bad, there's usually nine different things in Iraq, And this year there, there might be that might be multiplied. So there's you can just pick out of a hat. And and and go from there. What is Jerry? June Jones do now? You know, one of the really disappointments with serious disappointments, obviously of code. But one of the rial lighter disappointments of this year is that he doesn't do press conferences after every game, because I can't imagine. What level he would have reached yesterday. Um, you know, it's Tze one thing to get beat up by Seattle or airy Arizona's offense. They can't stop the run. With anybody, not the Washington football team. They run for over 200 yards. And if you want to pick one area of the Cowboys that does not beat up my injuries. Their front seven They've got Jalen Smith. They got banned arrest. They've got the Marcus Lords they've got. They've got elegance. They got Everson Griffen. They got Tyrone Crawford. They got guys were supposed to be there, and they can't tackle anybody. And then you have the hit on Andy Dalton and that nobody seems to concern about the chief shot by Jon Bostic. That wasn't it took the announcers of minutes to kind of recognize, but they did eventually, So okay, that's that's a brutal Yep. Be Amari Cooper is standing there and there's others around there had to be a number of players see it. I would think the entire offensive line and to see it. On nothing. Nothing at all. I mean, I can't imagine. If that was Dad getting hit like that that they wouldn't have done something but that that just pointed to the the give up factor of this team they looked like in the first quarter. They're out there to see when it's going to go badly, and you know how much it's going to feel like a ground hog day. They got nothing on either side of the ball, but quitting is worse than losing to him. Yeah. And of course, coaches will always and players will fight. You didn't quit. Everybody has a great attitude by when you see something like that, and when you see it That And when you see a team that just gets gassed in the run and announcers every week, whether it's the money, night crew or yesterday was was Moose. Ah lot of destroyed job back and they get very quickly. The out of position on these place. They really get outflanked quickly without defense. I mean, they're they're talking around the fact that team looks very poorly prepared and has no idea what to do in the players. Never respond if Jerry had to do over coaching. Well, I mean, that's what What was it about Mike McCarthy flying in and spending one night at the Jones house and all they were just so wowed by this guy. They couldn't believe it. Now, what have you seen in any game that he brings? You didn't call the plays so anytime the offense was playing well earlier in the year, That's Kellen Moore is offense. So what is he doing over there that he brings Emily brought in all these coaches? Guys he had in Green Bay 10 years ago. Mike Nolan, who hired him 20 years ago. It's just this. This cronyism tied coaching staff. And you wonder, and you wonder how much Jerry thought about like a mat rule. He mentioned Matt Rule one time last December, just after Baylor played in the Big 12 championship game. What a great young coach to thought. Matt Rhule wass. And you're Matt Rhule took over a team that was just God awful and got ready Cam Newton, and they released whatever they are three and four. They compete. Uh, yeah. I mean, I don't know. I don't know that he wouldn't like to rethink this lot. Now it's the first year so I think both the pandemic the DAC injury, the offensive line being completely wiped out. Those going allow the coaches to skate for year. But he has to be thinking this. This may have been a Terrible higher. The Cowboys buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. You know, I don't think they have a lot to sell. I heard somebody saying trade one of their wide receivers. They don't need that many hundreds of it. That's the one thing they have is good wide receivers. You want to trade one of those go You know, Draft Ah, linebacker with a neck injury. That's what that's what excites you about rebuilding the team. I don't think they will do much. There's certainly not Myers, they get by. I mean, I don't know why in the world you would add. Do it to a terrible collection of talent as this many injuries, but I don't expect him to do a lot, actually.

Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line In Flux Due To Injuries

"Have lots of talk about as it relates the cowboys I just what I think of this team this year and the expectations after Jerry Jones finally made the gutting decision that led to Jason Garrett showing up the building every day with a binder underneath his arm and dutifully hoping that he would. Get a stay of execution cowboy fan celebrated not only the draft pick a CD lamb but a coach was skins. Mike McCarthy hasn't exactly translated into the season that they had hoped for, and we're expecting some of it has to do with injuries bobby and we'll get to those in a second but a lot of teams are having to deal with injuries this year. Yeah. I, mean, the team the cowboys have up here the browns they've got a lot of injuries to deal with I. Mean The seahawks had you know a lot of patchwork stuff that they were doing last Sunday against the cowboys and so injuries are an excuse they're not necessarily a good excuse though for this cowboys team I think they, they definitely are missing some guys. They probably feel a little bit like we're not gonNA know who we are for real until probably mid October when randy gets reinstated fully you get hopefully late and vander aeschbacher. Corner start getting healthy so. It may be a situation where the cowboys are kind of you know we're GONNA fight and we're GONNA get as best we can until we get healthy and that's not necessarily an excuse that they're giving. It's just this is the way it's gotta be, and we kind of make do a little bit because they are decimated in the secondary. They've had issues at linebacker they've you know had the issues along the offensive line they lost jar when they're starting tight end and So I, mean they've definitely. Had those issues the thing that they don't want. You, you can't really do anything about injuries. You just adapt as best. You can the thing they don't want his they can't have. Three drops and you know two and a half yards per touch from Zeke Elliott. They can't have Jalen Smith missing tackles consistently and still be sixty million dollar guy they can't have. Dak Prescott turning the ball over. They need to have him protecting the ball. They can't have you know some of these. Occasional Amari Cooper focus drops. You expect injuries you deal with those. What you can have is all of that and then along in the secondary, you can't have guys just making really low I q reads and busted covered just stuff that doesn't seem to be a factor of trying to learn a new defense. This just seems like flat out low I q stuff of not recognizing who's assignment is who's You know I think back to Jalen Smith's comment to a about. Throwing it out through a little bit. Maybe they need to simplify the playbook if our fans aren't familiar with that one, let's play that one real quick. People, find beams the defense could innocent the group. Absolutely. Absolutely. I. Believe. Allowing more allowing US more opportunities to Hound in on what? We're actually going to run in in our game plan. I believe it's important. That each and every player knows in and out what they have to do. With a smaller playbook, you you know gives us better opportunity to do that. And like I said this about as growing each and every week. On coaches are the same page, the players on the same page and we're just trying to do whatever it takes to get that much better. Each and everyone is that players that aren't capable of learning the playbook or is it possibly too complicated? I don't know but I, got to tell you for all the people that wanted Rod. Marinelli Outta here have been overly impressed with Mike Nolan's defense. Again, injuries are an issue, I mean you lose Gerald McCoy loosely Van Deresh. You lose your to starting Corner Anthony Brown, and Lucy, but even they were healthy in that first game. I didn't think this team look that good. No, and you know it's again it's one of those things where not even a mention he's been healthy for the season but Jordan Lewis missed all the camp. I. Sale. Yeah. Exotic Woods was a big part of your problem last Sunday against the seahawks but I think overall everybody's got to step up. You know it's funny. We had Had the funny line during training camp. When asked him do you think about opting out at all and he said, Nope, contract to your baby and there's a lot of guys back there right now in contractors Jordan Lewis Cheeto you've got exertive your woods is another one. And it's fascinating that they're seeming to have these issues not just with again, the adjustment or or or skill players opposite them it's they're just dropping the ball in terms of. Knowing really basic fundamental stuff that that should have been all ironed out already and and you can say, maybe that's a a an issue with you didn't have some of the same lead up time or some of the same work that you would normally get but everybody had those same sort of issues and and not everybody is having these same sorts of just busted coverage touchdowns. I. Think there's four already on the year that were just left wide open by somebody not knowing an assignment including three last week against the

Cowboys Jalen Smith Seahawks Jordan Lewis Jason Garrett Mike Mccarthy Jerry Jones Vander Aeschbacher Browns Randy Bobby United States Zeke Elliott Dak Prescott Amari Cooper Gerald Mccoy Marinelli ROD Mike Nolan Anthony Brown
