I think he's mostly been really good, but it's just weird how some of these GMs just have these blind spots. Like Bill Belichick's the same way. Like, you just can't evaluate the receiver position. I wonder if that's what's happening with guda kunst. Is Gouda Kung's just like, I know I don't trust myself to draft a receiver. Like, that literally could be it. Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a blind spot. I'm not saying that's good. You don't really want to hear that about your GM, but maybe it's like a confidence thing where it's just like, I would rather get someone I know I can help our team or at least I think I can help my team. Yeah. Then screw it up, I guess? I have no idea. Like, Amari Cooper wasn't I'm Murray Rogers wasn't like a huge impact player last year..

"I mean, it's painful. Remember that Philadelphia drafted Jalen reagor instead of drafting Justin Jefferson who is a star standout receiver in Minnesota. It's a painful reality that Jalen rigor every time he fails, everyone is reminded that, oh, they could have had Justin Jefferson instead, how frustrating and painful is that. In fact, they're talking about how Philadelphia should draft another receiver this year. That'd be three years in a row drafting a receiver in the first round. Partially because Jalen Reagan just hasn't been good enough and hasn't got it done. By the way, Dallas got their tight end had a great year as well. He was our second leading receiver. He had 56 catches for 830 yards and for touchdowns. Philadelphia surprised me in so many ways last year. Their left tackle. Jordan my lada became a starter before the season started got a massive contract. I love him. He's a great his interview. Short of my Lana is such an easy to like guy. Philly's defense did some really good stuff. They were actually a top ten defense, which I didn't really expect. Some of their free agent signings did really well in their secondary. Philadelphia even mostly only lost to good football teams. You know, they lost a total of 9 games last year, including their playoff loss to Tampa. Here are the 7 good teams that Philadelphia lost to. Kansas City, they lost to the cowboys twice, they lost a Tampa twice, they lost the forty-niners and the Chargers, that's 7 losses to good teams. Those are like kind of honorable losses for a team the Philadelphia Eagles who I thought wasn't as good as any of those teams. They really I thought beat everyone they should have, they lost to teams that I can understand them losing to. And I was very pleasantly surprised with the eagles during the 2021 season. They got a lot of people in that building that I find myself rooting for. Jalen hurts, Nick Siri. Devonta Smith is awesome. I love his attitude as a work ethic. Joe to my lot, a Darius slay, I would love to see Philadelphia build off what they did last year and get even better in 2022. Maybe when their division I'd be really, really cool. I hope it's the beginning of something because I am rooting for them. They won me over..

"And we are back man a hope you really are enjoying this commentary. That i'm bringin here to you. These days man Recap because i know you can watch them all like me guys out told you before i was going to watch many as i can They games that are tuned into One specifically that. I definitely tuned into that. I had planned only watching a little bit. Because i had a fantasy player. Very important fantasy player on the team was the eagles game but the eagles end up doing way better than i expected. Not saying that i thought they were going to be bad. But definitely not this good or at least a successful now. They played atlanta. And i mean we all can say how we feel about atlanta's defense or whatever we think about atlanta's a team in general but regardless you gotta give problems now. I had philly winning this game. Ten to seven and like i said in the last segment i completely underestimated. Some of them are teams. Philadelphia is definitely one of them. Atlanta not so much on the money but philadelphia instead of scoring ten points. How about thirty two. Yes the philadelphia. Eagles defeated the atlanta falcons. Thirty two to six men. And i couldn't be more happy for jalen because was he a standard. I'm talking about two hundred sixty. Four passing yards three ts. Sixty two rushing yards are. Let's talk about it. There's reason to be expected about the eagles and their young offensive. Playmakers quarterback jalen hurts himself out. Dude veteran matt ryan in their fit in his fifth career. Start going twenty seven of thirty five for two hundred sixty four yards in three touchdowns and the eagles rookie. Devante smith heisman winner. Last year out of alabama had six catches seventy one yards and td and kennedy Gain will head forty three total yards each foul. They both found the end zone. Their debuts and in the performance of miles sanders at right back one hundred thirteen total yards and jalen rigor has six catches. Forty nine yards and a touchdown and that's a whole lot of production. Fourteen that i expected to get ten points. They'll look to keep it up against the forty niners defense next week but that is a great start. Feel you should be very proud of yourselves. Good job organization. Good job team. Not a question is how highs this team ceiling that of convincing road win will you know. Get people talking about Coaching in the players. A lot more than people plan all speaking about them. This season expectations were low. Entering the season is just the to the matter but the eagles over performed on both sides of the ball Particularly on defense by keeping atlanta and talented skilled players on a out of the end zone. The offense fizzled after two strong drivers to start The defense was beaten by second Will by thousands of gashes really thousands of plays may catches made zone. Reads short passes just couldn't be defended any got worse from there. This was about as bad as it could get for the coaching staff debut. It was known to the falcons that they had some roster holes in lack debt but four to be such a complete meltdown is a bid. Like i mean it's not shocking but it's concerning it's like willis's we expected you got to clean it up. We add this expectations. But damn i didn't even try. This was the sam darnold game as he has the opportunity to beat up on his old team and see if the new kids that would outduel him. Well as gentlemen as i've said a couple times on here sometimes it ain't all about you. Sometimes about experience and s with sam darnold came in improved to his old team. The panthers quarterback sam darnold had two hundred and seventy nine passing yards two total touchdowns and a victory over his old team. The carolina panthers won nineteen to fourteen over the new york jets. The jury is still out on quarterback. Sam darnold getting wrong while the third pick of the two thousand eighteen draft was efficient against his former team. In this game. It should not have been that close. Carolina scored one touchdown on four trips inside the new york. Ten yard line counting a red zone issue played will continue this reds on issue That played last season. Darnell only proved he can play will against a bad team. I mean the straight up Can the offensive line partake sam. Darnold gets good defense. Well this group that they have says Remains to be a work in progress. They're still trying to figure that out and get that done Darnell was hit eight times darnold. Ultimately his ultimate success depends on how he is protected against defenses soda and have no time to make decisions and get things done carolina. Panthers have to see the saints next week which we know they have a very solid defense as for the jets. That wilson knows how to take a punch. Unfortunately for the jets. He took way too many. Their rookie quarterback showed no quit against a relentless pass rush but he also made too many rookie mistakes at times. The game was too fast for him but he settled down and displays. Some of the talent That we all know. He has in which got him. Second overall pick. It was a great learning experience. There's no reason to completely down him Like i said this first game. Those lights that active regular season is a lot different than preseason college. And everything before it. So it was a woke up to the league form So definitely gonna need see from him before. Really critique him everything just because like. I say simple rookie mistakes eight. I mean eating like coaching was really a helping. Also i did for that game. "Pretty good performance from the Cowboys. I think it's a lot to build off of And you know, uh, I was talking with somebody this week, and they made a fair point. They made a fair point. You've got to think about it. How many? I mean, How many teams are you going to face on? How many teams are the Cowboys going to face on their schedule? That have a front seven like that. An NFL MVPs quarterback. And then the top it off all the weapons that he has on the outside With Gronk. With Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown. There's a lot There's a lot there. They didn't lose any stars and you know, they only got better. You could argue they only got better. With the addition adult Tehran out of Washington and defense of and he's a great pass rusher. He should be adding a little depth there and definitely will make some. I would expect some noise. This year as a rookie. But Especially. You're not going to see that you're not going to see that type of stuff. In the end, the division like the Cowboys, NFC es must be real. There's not many good quarterbacks in FCS. Outside of deck. Prescott, you're probably thinking. I mean, the argument is probably saying that Ryan Fitzpatrick, the second best quarterback in the division, and that's crazy to think. Dan Jones. I think we'll have a better season around Fitzpatrick. But that just tells you the state of quarterbacks in the league in that division When you look at the front seven There's not many, you know. In regards to the vision of the front seven. The front seven of the The Eagles isn't too shabby when you got Fletcher Cox in the middle. Yeah, he's getting a little older. He's still force. An absolute wrecking ball in the middle so Not as strong as they used to be a couple, you know, a couple of years ago. But you know, they still have Fletcher Cox in middle so he can cause a lot of disruption and Make things difficult. But you're not going to face too many quarterbacks. Uh and and and you, especially if you look at The weapons and that's where it really stands out in the division. You've got some good is a defense you got Average quarterbacks, But then you look at the weapons. The Washington football team. Biggest weapon is Terry McLaurin. And Logan Thomas. Not bad, but not nothing that really, you know, you can hone in on those guys. There's not multiple guys. You ain't no CD lands, Amari, Cooper's and Michael Gallup said. You've got a lot of against against on the Washington football team. You know about Philadelphia's issues with Thurs. They got a lot of young, wide receivers that Have a lot to prove. Still, Jalen Rigor. Finally, Maybe he's fully healthy. This year. We'll see what maybe quest walk ins do. There's a lot of question marks in the eagle sector on the Eagles. Uh, while receiving core. I think we all can agree on that. And then you look at the Giants are healthy again. But still what can they do? So I think the Cowboys all in all, they should be very happy with what they're seeing. And what their what they saw Thursday night as a fan. I am I know that More importantly, how good attack Prescott look. If there's anything to be said about Thursday night. For all those folks that were bashing deck about that money and listen, I thought there was a lot of money. He could have probably took a couple million dollars less. I was one of them, folks, but in the end In the end. He's a top five quarterback in this league hands down, and he got paid respectively. Because I tell you what He looks fantastic. It was 11 months off. Sometimes you there's rust and sports. Medak did not look rusty at all. And if he did, Yeah, there's probably two or three passes at the beginning that could have been picked. But besides that, he was pretty locked in most of the night. But Less than 24 hours later. You get bad news. Or multiple fronts. Why receiver Michael Gallup, who exited the game early, suffered a calf string. Reports are he's going to miss about 3 to 5 weeks. We don't know how extent hopefully it's closer to the three or 43 to 5. Hopefully, it's closer to 3 to 4 weeks. Maybe maybe not that five weeks as you will see us what the Cowboys have their bye week rate around in week eight so there could be a chance. That he won't see him for another six weeks because of the bye week the way it kind of fits into the schedule. And how that plays out, So we'll see how that goes. You also the Big one you knew about Gallup. We saw him get injured. There was always that possibility that maybe just maybe this, uh this could be a couple a couple weeks then and unfortunately it is. It's a big loss huge loss for the Cowboys. But I will say this and I think most people would agree with it. There's one position we can afford to lose its wide receiver very deep. You saw what it CD lamb and, um, are you can do. They can handle the workload because you've got those two great tight ends and Blake, Darwin, Dalton Schultz and hey, by the way, Some guys that are behind those wide receiver like Cedric Wilson. We like I like what I see as Cedric Wilson. I think he's a great wide receiver probably would be a two or three on the most teams. But because during the the absolutely exceptional talent in front of him, um that's where he stands. But now he gets to stick step up and be that wide receiver three and really naked, really stand out and see what he can do over the next 4 to 5 weeks, most likely So I don't think you'll see much drop off. Yes, I will say Michael Cap is a very important player on that offense, and he's going to be missed. But I think the Cowboys will be okay. Where I'm little worried about is on the offensive line of things because right tackle Leo Collins has been suspended five games without pay for violation of the leaks policy on substance abuse. Now. What this means is when a lot of people here such as beautifully thinking steroids or something, no, This is because Collins suspension stems from a series of 2020 tests at the tackle, allegedly miss each of with says That his this is coming from. His lawyer says his client was provided explanation for that he provided an excellent patient an explanation for why he missed those mandatory appointments. But in and by the way, they just updated these things. 2020 update to the least policy on such as abuse mandates funds, not it. Mandates finds not suspensions as disciplined for unexcused failure to appear for testing. Where players in stage two of the programs, suspensions are applicable not for failures to appear, but for failure to cooperate with testing her clinical care. Thailand. "He's definitely the bengals wide receiver and we talked about him in the season-long show but the bengals wide receiver based on price point. That i love this no questions for matchup usual but the volume of either. Yeah davante adams. Eighty three hundred dollars. Michael which seems anytime you get. Devante adams under nine k. Feels like a steal doubt. Michael pittman forty one hundred dollars. Devante smith forty five hundred dollars. Taking on the falcons jerry. Judy under five k. At forty eight hundred and jalen rigor thirty. Seven hundred dollars again. Taking on the falcons. Jalen rigor i realized struggled. Didn't do all the things that we were hoping to see his last year as a rookie but thirty seven hundred dollars my clay. Yeah no question about it. We both us receivers in there. We talked about jalen hurts. You could potentially put some stacks together in in tournament. Keep in mind with wattle willfuller suspended. So he's gonna come in and play a huge role. You might think well devante parker and fuller and they might want us guys. There's no fuller in this game. He is going to play a huge role. And i can apply this data both waddell and devante monte smith. They were both top. Ten picks six of the seven wide receivers picked on the top ten over the past decade. Who didn't get hurt played. Thirteen plus games. Six of the seven were top. Thirty fantasy receivers so again possible. These price points go way up for a guy like smith and waddell going forward. Really interesting about t- higgins to fortieth price receiver. This week he finished twenty one in his in his Fourteen four games last year and again. We expect them to be pretty clear number. One in this match up as tomorrow chase learns how to learn how to catch the ball. Honestly and that sounds like i'm insulting. But he said he's having a hard time with it. He said transitioning from college to the pro ball has been an issue and he said we still learning the ropes. And he's gonna come along slowly. In the meantime it should be the t. Playing the eagles match appear against their you know reworked linebackers and safety. So and you'll probably see some avant in slot he's kind of a defacto slot receiver But he's about. He's almost half the cost of travis kelsen and that's what makes him really appealing chelsea's good value too but considering that pisses about half half the price and makes him a very appealing here should be the number two target beyond calvin really right away again like the matchup and how about this. He is six foot six. He is six inches. On calvin rarely n russell gauge and we expect them three to be the top targets really dominate targets of those three guys. Well once i get to the goal line the guy that's six inches taller. That's where the ball is going to go. We've seen that historically in the nfl just based on play calling so that's another edge. Good chance that he scores a touchdown in this matchup so like pets alive at this price. Yeah no one of the things that i have said often is. You can't teach size and are known for saying that. Yeah yeah and that's one of the things with kyle pits that. I think you're great point there. You go allah. I wanna talk with you about tight ends because you love logan thomas this week again. Only forty six hundred dollars for the washington. Football team love him. I love this price. Point talked to us about why. You love logan thomas hero like the zig when everybody else zags. If everybody's gonna look over here. And say ooh kyle pitch shiny new toy and he's a great value in a situation to make fun of me i think. So am i looking at it. And i'm gonna look over here. And say logan thomas who led the league in terms of routes run her quarterback dropback last year and was signed to a long term deal after his breakout year last season where we saw him basically garner more targets and more endzone usage. More red zone us as the season went on. This team is going has already committed to him. And it's going to continue to keep him in that role and he's on the field these not out there to block. He's basically a wide receiver. Who's just bigger and a little bit husky. Or so they let him have that tight end role at least in fantasy. So i'm paying two hundred more to be a little bit more contrarian over collpase and guess what arbeit for me to think that. It's magic is a better quarterback than what he had last year. But i think that there's going to be improved quarterback play so you have all of those things in terms of volume and routes run and targets and we get better quarterback play from somebody who's going to challenge so i really like logan thomas both in season-long but specifically for this week based on everything that you have to think about when you're playing in tournament towels point. They're just an awesome stats. Logan thomas had a top ten fantasy week with four different quarterbacks last year. None of those four quarterbacks are starting this weekend while or even starting the season at all. They're not starters in the nfl. Pretty incredible now. He goes to ryan fitzpatrick who was top third and qbr last year. Something like third or fourth. Qbr i mean if he plays at that. Level of washington is super bowl candidate. We'll see if he can do it for a full season. Watch out yeah. Couple of tight ends that we really love travis kelsey. We'd be remiss not every week. We basically have to mention travis. Kelsey eighty three hundred dollars taken on cleveland. George sixty three hundred dollars taking on the detroit. Lions feels like a great spot for kiddle. Against what is going to be a tough detroit defense for me all year long..

"Out all depends on what the steelers offensive line is like in this game. Because that's what i'm curious to see. That's probably the biggest key in this game for the steelers. How was their protection. Going to hold up against his bills defensive front. If ben's going to have time in this game i think the steelers they put up a good fight and maybe these come away with the victory but if the offensive line doesn't block for them. They're not going to be able to do anything in this game. So i would see people that you could definitely start in this game and feel confident in is probably josh allen digs on the bill side and then on the other side. I'd probably say you know. Of course you're gonna start nagishi. Klay pool indiana johnson. I think they have pretty good games as well. I think juju you probably see how he does ben. You could probably go either way with that. Because i don't think the bills are going to be a dominant defense like the buccaneers. Were some of these other defenses. The rams those defenses. But i still think they're going to be pretty good. So i think the steelers they'll be able to move the ball against them. So that's my thoughts on that one o'clock game so moving onto another one o'clock you got the eagles going to atlanta to take on the falcons and i think this is going to be a high scoring game. I think both defenses. Don't start them. If you are thinking about it which i don't know why you would be because i i just don't think they're gonna go to the secondary for the eagles. I don't think it's going to be good. And just the falcons defense in general is not going to be good over. I think this is a favorable matchup for jalen hurts. I think he is. This is a very positive match-up for him. And i think that you know you look at the monte smith. You look at goddard. I think they could do well mile sanders. I'm interested to see what the running game is going to be like for the eagles because they did talk about it like it was going to be a committee then it seemed like mile sanders kinda took back the lead running back role. So maybe if you have better running back options there you probably. Maybe don't start him week. One i mean if you drafted him early enough you gotta start them if you're putting a lot of faith in him but you know it'll be interesting to see what the eagles running game looks like and we'll see how devante smith goddard and we'll see how jalen rigor dozen year too and they still got zakar at so i'm curious to see what the tight end situation is as well going into this game but i think jalen hurts has a really good game regardless because again atlanta's defense is not that good so then talking about it from atlanta perspective. Eagles defence is not good. I think ridley has a really good game here. I think matt ryan has a solid game here because you know when he usually does well against the eagles. And i think he'll do well against the eagles again. The interesting thing is how. What's the running back situation going to be like now for atlanta so i talked about it with the eagles now about atlanta so they signed wayne goldman and mike davis was brought in to be the lead running. Back now like. How is that going to work. I think allman is going to see some playing time. And honestly i think goldman could overtake my davis four that lead running back role and i picked up wayne goldman in one of my other leagues. Because i was able to do that. Because michael thomas i drafted and he's on the pup list. So i picked up wayne goeman because listen i. i don't think mike davis is gonna get all the carries. I think goldman is going to get a chance to play. So i think when you look at the running back situation for atlanta i mean. I think you do start date. Mike davis in week one. But i think going to be a little careful with him because wayne goldman could definitely take some opportunities away from him. But looking at atlanta's offense. I think they're going to do really well in this game. Both offenses are going to do well in this game. And if you've got guys on both teams. I think you definitely gotta start. And russell gauges a guy could definitely start your flex kyle pits. Let's see how he does in his first. Nfl action it's going to be an interesting game. Should be high scoring. It should be a lotta fun. That's my thoughts on that game. So after that you've got the jets in the panthers the jets versus old quarterback with their new quarterback. I think both quarterbacks play fairly well in this game because both of these defenses have their weaknesses. the panthers are very young. They're still in the rebuild process. So i think zack wilson. I know it wasn't the i know was the preseason zach wilson. Does well here. so you know. If you're thinking about turning zach wilson which. I don't really think he's a guy that's going to start on too many teams out of the game. Because there's so many other quarterbacks stat that you should have over. Zach wilson no offenses act wilson wilson. Looking at what he did in the preseason. I definitely think that if he has time and his weapons are good he will be solid. But i just don't think people should be starting out of the gate you know. I think that he does over here. Will match against the panthers defense panther inexperienced like i said well not. I don't say inexperienced. They're young So i do think you can start. Zach wilson corey davis. I think should do well in this game. The jets running back situation. That's a little murky. Because you've got michael carter. Kevin coleman tied. Johnson johnson actually was playing in the preseason. I don't think those guys are going to wanna start again. Depending on how deep your league is playing a thirty two man league or something. Which i honestly didn't know those existed but yeah i if if you're playing you one of those have one of those guys maybe do start them but you know that doesn't really matter. I think really the only other jet player. You could start as probably davis. And i guess i mean i guess you could say crowder as well and see. I like the other guys do allies. You're more and denzel mems. Because again i'm not i. I've talked about it a lot on the show. I'm not a guy that you know is very high on rookies to start out. Because i got to see how they do in the nfl. I like how they do in the nfl games because you guys like nausea..

So they're hoping that like one of those three guys out and quiz might be the one that does so. Let's see what he can do. Don't immediately bring in a veteran receiver and takeaway snaps from any one of those three guys whether it's watkins smith or regular. Yeah that's the thing. Who are you taking away. Who do you want to lose snaps if you're trading for a veteran right fever like you don't want it to be devante smith. I don't think anyone is making the case for that. I can't see how you'd want it to be quiz. Given how he's shown that like earned the starting job it would be such a slap in the face for him to him to like not let him start after he's basically done everything he can within reason to earn a starting job and then reiter. Because chef, he says they have all the assets to do it. And he believes that if he does go there, they become a Super Bowl contender. Yes, I completely agree. I think Philadelphia, Carolina even maybe Miami or teams that could be interested in Shawn Watson. Now there's Criminal investigation. We have to know that there has been no resolution to that. We also have to know that there are alleged victims in this situation. So if and when he's cleared, and there's a lot of hurdles to get to, and we get to the football discussion, Absolutely. They're saying there were three first round picks next year. And if I'm Philadelphia? He is a great great young player, and I would do everything within reason and probably a little bit more than that, to get him and any team he goes to. I think they become a Super Bowl contender, and I would probably list maybe six or seven teams like the Chargers, the Chiefs. If Russell Wilson stays and see how that shouldn't be interested to show Watson but there should be about 26 27 teams That should be. He's that much of a difference maker and I would put Philly at the top of that list. See, I I don't know about the contender, part of it because the roster makeup in Philadelphia right now today. It's not Super Bowl contending roster if you think about last year in what and I was telling Alan Prior to you coming in here, you think about Houston's team last year. They had some players. They had some coaching issues and things of that nature, but they had some players and they were not playoff caliber in that team was better equipped in this year's Philadelphia team with a new head coach that we know nothing about. Those are the type of teams that I look at that says to me if they get a quarterback like an Aaron Rodgers of the Shawn Watson You might as well start to think about them and Super Bowl contenders, not the Philadelphia Eagles. Yeah, I think Philly has some young players and look, they just drafted devotee Smith. We got to see how he turns out. They have to get some youth on their defensive line. Now if i go and i look at comparing against running back before when i was talking about getting a fourth wide receiver over the likes of james robinson who is just a question mark. In their first round running back takes over who knows and here in the seventh round. We were talking about damian harris earlier this episode about the fact that once you get past all those studly wide receivers the chance to get a starting running back who could be more valuable. This is where. I'd rather go to running back and when i'm looking at the board there's a couple of names there's damon harris david johnson. David johnson is still technically starting running back james connor as well. Those three guys are starting running backs. i have a hard time with james connor with his health history But he has the best offense.
