"Coming in there, but if Russell Wilson plays like he did a year ago, Sean Payton, I assume, has the right has the respect in that building to be like, okay, we're not playing them anymore. That was a luxury that Nathaniel Hackett didn't really have. Not to mention they didn't really rip in his number three quarterback in this league. But if this goes down like it went down last year, they're just not gonna play Russell Wilson because it was absurd last season. When you think about Payne's offenses, they're so good, this is where it gets really tricky. They're so good at, you know, the saints office is so good at creating mismatches in the middle of the field and like what's the one thing, even in this prime that Russell Wilson was a very good at. It was finding those throws in the middle of the field. So it's not a great match. And I mean, Sean Payton has to be aware of that. And he will do something different. It's not like he has like, that's like his one like 2013 saints playbook. He's gonna show up with it and be like, wow, here it is, guys. This is all I know. But it's going to be interesting what happens on the field. And even more interesting what happens if the on field product looks like it did in 2022. I, boy, I hate putting this on one person. I mean, I don't know what I want if I'm Russell Wilson, right? I finally got my way out of Seattle. I guess if you were Russell Wilson, right? And you could go in a time machine. Would you want to go back all the way to the moment you started forcing your way out of Seattle and then think, boy, I gotta actually pretty good here. And everybody just thinks I'm sort of this misused talent and I will go down with the Super Bowl. I can keep chipping away at a Hall of Fame career. Through my longevity and I can go out as a God of Seattle and nobody's ever going to believe the Seahawks when they say that I wasn't running the offense. It's just going to be let Russ cook for the rest of my life. Or, you know, credit to him for initiating that separation process, but you have a chance to be wholly exposed this year. Like, Hackett was a convenient scapegoat, even though I think probably the reason you kick a 64 year old field go in the openers because he's not running the place that you're asking him to run. And so, you know, but anyway, and there's a lot of open receivers. I mean, man, you and I went back and watched some of those games. The guys that are just waving their hands in the air, jumping up and down, being like, please throw me the ball and he's not doing it. And if you do that with a Sean Payton offense, I'll tell you what, Hackett took the criticism for all of that. He took it. Because that's what he thought was best, I think, for that locker room. And that's what he did in Green Bay. A lot of the times. But holy smokes. You think Sean Payton's gonna sit there at the podium and be like, yeah, it's all on me. This is why this thing isn't working. The guy's got a Super Bowl ring and is one of the most revered offensive coaches in the NFL. You think he's gonna sit there and let his legacy be tarnished? No way. No chance. Like this thing, this thing is gonna get exposed. In our heart. Yeah. There might be a solution. And again, I don't necessarily blame Russell Wilson for wanting to change his style of play at this point in his career and be the BD pocket operating distributor that he never was in Seattle, but we're seeing why he wasn't that in Seattle. And I will, I will not take full credit for predicting that he would be the fourth best quarterback in that division because at some point last summer you also asked me if you were the eagles, would you trade all your draft capital Russell Wilson and get the certainty of Russell Wilson and said Jalen hurts? And I said, yes, I would. Which obviously, I mean, what a, what a nightmare scenario, alternate universe for the eagles to be in right now. That couldn't have been more wrong. So he's just he's a guy who it was his out of structure playmaking, which was just spectacular during his prime. And it was also his exceptional efficiency on downfield throws. He was the equivalent of whatever. He was Steph Curry of the other. I mean, these low percentage moon ball throws that were completed again and again and again. That was him in Seattle. And those are very much linked to physical traits and the physical traits are starting to diminish, and I just don't know if there's a solution. Maybe Sean Payton has something up his sleeve or maybe this is Sean Payton was the Broncos third choice and the Broncos were like Sean Payton's like 12th choice. Yeah, I don't know. And you know what? Let's throw down, let's throw down the voice of reason right now. And let's not finish this on a taking note, right? Because I feel like everything in the NFL has always been since the beginning of time, right? There is the complete, there's the, oh my God, he's gonna fix Russell Wilson take. And then there's the, this is gonna be a disaster take and it always ends up in the middle. It's like, yeah, they're ten and 7 and Russell Wilson threw 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and he's kind of like Daniel Jones now. And so, you know, and I think that, you know, that's probably what's gonna end up happening, right? Yeah. Yeah. Sean Payton had or somebody through the media had said Sean Payton was assembling his all star team of freelance coaches here to come with him wherever he might land. One of those names that were thrown out was a big Fangio, but Vic Fangio will not be returning to Denver as a defense coordinator. He does end up taking the job in Miami, kind of a weird flirtation type thing with what went on there. This is also a really interesting fit because Chris Greer has. Kind of pivoted to what they want to do defensively by bringing in Bradley Chubb. And I think there's some debate to be had about how good Jalen Phillips and Bradley Chubb can be as a sort of bookend pass rush tandem. I think Jalen Phillips is good. And I think Bradley Chubb is pretty good. I don't know if they become better than that. But the dolphins obviously were so blitz heavy and I mean, the zero blitz stuff they were doing under Josh Boyer over this past season and then obviously Boyer was there under Brian Flores. It's going to be a different look. And Vic Fangio, I think is not quite as blitz averse as his reputation. I think the Broncos were kind of middle of the pack and blitz rate, but the kinds of blitzes he's going to throw. You're not going to see a lot of your blitz stuff out of this dolphin defense. It's going to rely more on those two edge rushers getting to the quarterback and it's the first round pick. It's the guy you traded the first round pick for and gave the monster contract. "I mean, the running backs all makes sense, right? Mike mcdaniel, Jeff Wilson, they've worked together. They know the offense. I think that's a good trade. Great moment for the running back position. Yeah. This entire trade deadline. That whole thing makes sense to me. Bradley Chubb, I have no problem adding another good pass rusher. I feel like any chance time you get the opportunity to do it, you should do it. But there's a lot of, I mean, I guess you saw the forty-niners getting good, right? So you think it's gonna be a late first round pick anyway. I'm not gonna get a good pass rusher at that point and that's what we need so you go get it. Makes sense. Is chub the guy that you feel comfortable trading a first round pick for? I mean, every one of these moves is a gamble. This doesn't feel like nearly the sure thing that a lot of people I felt like thought it was a sure thing yesterday. The one thing that I can't really get a handle on is how good is Bradley Chubb. Right. We have no idea. Yep, I think he's good. I don't think this is a matter of getting a guy that you're going to be like, oh, wait, he's like our fourth pass structure. No, I mean, he's a starter. He's probably a quality starter. I don't know how good though. I don't know if he's necessarily different making. But the thing it presents as an option now for the dolphins who I mean the dolphins are so blitz heavy and that's in part by necessity because you have Jalen Phillips and you really don't have a whole lot else as far as sort of just natural edge rushers go. So now you have two and I think Jalen Phillips probably has a higher long-term ceiling but I think right now for the sake of laziness, I'll just say Jalen Phillips and Bradley Chubb are probably too like, you know, B plus type of type of pass rushers. You have one on each side, maybe that means double team for one and not the other. And then that guy can do some work in singled up situations, but they kind of, they're so, they've been hit hard by injuries in the secondary. And I think they do need to figure out a way to do this without having to send a 5th rusher constantly. And this theoretically gets them closer to being able to do that. I don't know if it's gonna be enough, though. It's weird like he wins a lot. I mean, you also have like, you have Mark Ingram there. Like, you know, or Melvin Ingram, sorry. So, you know, it could work theoretically. Like, I think, right? But he wins a lot. Especially this year, but does not draw a ton of double teams. And I thought that was interesting in Denver. You know, Randy, you know, did you did you draw more after Randy Craig? I didn't see the split exactly there, but you know, he's not a guy that you feel like you have to double team from the jump. And so that to me, personally, is the first round pick threshold, where it's like, is he gonna mess up what they have to do from a blocking perspective? That's at least how I kind of think about it, or is it like, is it a guy that you stick your left tackle on and it's like, okay, you know, big boy time, let's see if you can handle it. And I feel like that's sort of more, I think chub is right on that threshold. Now maybe Mike mcdaniel Boyer, they unlock something in him, which is totally possible, by the way. I think the tools are there and he's a gigantic human being. And I think this could. And with von Miller, you see that he took some of those moves from him. Like he really does, he has the moveset. So maybe it's all there. Raw materials, and this is a gamble on, hey, we're going to make this work and he's going to stay healthy. Yeah. Yeah, and the other thing that's really interesting to me is just speaking more broadly about where the dolphins are right now. When we were coming into the season, it was kind of like, okay, well, they got tyreek hill and now they get to see if two a tongue of ilo it is going to be the answer there at quarterback. And it looks like the answer is probably yes at this point. Now the question is, all right, well, you know, we're not we're not making a move at quarterback. There's not even one available to us. Should we should we decide to? They have a window. I just don't know what the team sealing is. But this might be the ceiling right now because I don't want to overstate this. But there's something of a tyreek hill window that they're looking at. And people age differently than they used to. So we can't say anything in definitive terms, but tyreek hill does not profile as a guy who will age well. And he might be a soft tissue injury away from really being far less effective than he's been to this point in 2022, which has been, I mean, he's been a superstar. He has been as valuable as any non quarterback in the league. So far in his dolphins career, but when that goes away, it just feels like, again, it's a, you know, relatively limited what you can do offensively. It's called Ron's gonna be so upset. Clip it. It's relatively limited with what you're gonna be able to do offensively. And when Tyree kill is no longer Tyreke Hill, have you know, were you basically walking this tight rope and now you've kind of fallen off the tightrope and instead of being top ten to 12 offense, now you're like a top 20 to 25 offense and your defense is kind of middling and all of a sudden you're whatever, you're in 7 and ten to 9 and 9 and 8 type of range there. So it's like it's a window, I just don't know what the window is, like, I don't know what's opening to. Yeah, it's like, well, one of the saw movies that I saw, I can't maybe saw three. Do you ever see any of the saw movies? No, but I know what they are. They're saws and you have to saw your body parts offer whatever to escape. Is my impression. No, but so, I mean, you know, this guy kidnaps everybody and throws him in a house and you gotta do scary things to get out and then, I mean, I'm not explaining it any better than you are. But sometimes they're like, oh, well, let's just leave the door that we came in and they open it and they open the window and then it's bricked over. So maybe the dolphins are just like, we went on this secure circuitous journey to like fix to a tongue of eye Lola and illegally tamper and try to hire Sean Payton and get Tom Brady and then we're gonna run around and get tyreek hill and then we open the window and we still can't get out 'cause we're the Miami Dolphins and we're gonna finish 8 and 9 in Rohan's never gonna stop texting us about the dolphins. They also, as you mentioned early, they got Jeff Wilson, which as he said, it makes sense. And you find him, you can drop him in there and he was expendable for the forty-niners with Tricia McCaffrey in there. And yeah, he knows the system and he and Mike mcdaniel reunite. Indeed. "Pick. I don't feel that way anymore, especially after last night. So there's a case they're the fourth best team in the AFC. So from a draft pick standpoint, not as much of a disaster maybe, but could you see them being in the top four in that conference? Yeah, I think they're the fourth best team in the AFC. In the middle of the trade deadline, I did like, okay, in this moment of time, what teams do I think have a shot to win the super bowl? Like an actual chance right now to win it. And when I went through, I had those three AFC teams I had the chiefs, the bills and the ravens, and then I added the dolphins on the end of the list. To me, those four AFC teams and then the niners, the cowboys and the eagles. Wait, so you have the dolphins potentially being like a last year's Bengals. I can't believe this team's in the Super Bowl holy shit how did this happen to you? Yes. And that's because the ace in the hole, the peak for the dolphins is as high, if not higher than any other peak. When it's tyreek and jaylen waddle and having to deal with that amount of speed, late in the season, when you're tired when you're banged up, if they can keep that duo and to a healthy, there's just a nightmare to deal with. It's just so exhausting to play that for four quarters. Now, they'd have to win three shootouts in a row with way this defense has been playing, right? To this point in the season, dolphins defense, 25th by DVA. And that's where I think you start to understand the Bradley Chubb thing because they've been so bad right now. I generating pressure without blitzing, right? Under Brian Flores, they were historically a blitz heavy team. That's how they generated their pressure. This season, 19.9% pressure rate on non blitz is 29th in the NFL from next gen stats. If you can get chub and Jalen Phillips and Melvin Ingram all on the field for a rush down and get somebody at the quarterback, then you know what? We might get a couple of peak defensive games. We might get a couple of sneaky good defensive games there in January. Just get a little bit lucky. And that's gonna get us past the bills and the divisional round. That'll get us past the chiefs and the division round. That'll bring us to the final four. So I think the shield doesn't agree with this. I mean, yeah, I was trying to be polite and not interrupt. Their peak as high as the bills and the chiefs, the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas city chiefs, the playoffs. I'm sorry. Watch last year, the bills team, we visibility they beat. Like a month ago, right? Oh, come on. Talk to me in January. I mean, I do not see how you can put listen to it as. I don't want to get crushed by two and on here, they've had a fun offense. They're crushing these. They're crushing these opponents and they're producing explosive plays against the I don't see how you can put them in that category for teams quarterback by Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes

"Jake i mean that's a great question. Maybe that's why they went into training camp and preseason with so many receivers because they were hoping one of these guys truly seize that moment. I mean i'll be the first one to throw egg on my face. I believe pressed. The williams was good. Would he have one reception on three catches for two yards. I thought albert. We'll see no. This was his year. You know he was the big playmaker throughout camp. I mean as he that dynamic playmaker was just a flash in the pan it seems like it was a flash payment those two critical drops so You know for a unit that we sat here and you know thought was one of the stronger points jake. I think you're probably closer to right. You know this. This receiving core is probably a bigger issue than we lead on to believe but when you have an offensive line that can't hold up. Maybe we just are expecting too much out of that group so again. I think it's a little bit of everyone that fall here. Jake the question. I have is. No god's he's calling plays now they have co offense coordinators at will point you pull the pull the play calls from him and let studs they'll go out there and hopefully try to write this thing because i mean part of the reason you have those two chefs in the kitchen is so that will one of these guys isn't getting results. I mean again. I don't know who's a fall here could be the offensive line could be a mixture things but at some point. I think we're gonna have to sit here. And say is george godsey. The prompt should we let studs. They'll do some things because This offense has to do better. Jackie say that. I can think about is the fact that we you said you're excited. Mike a sticky. Get more involved than i was too. But he had three catches on six targets and with george godsey called the plays. He's someone use a tight ends coach. I thought for sure this would be a team. That could thrive what the tight ends and we see carter out there playing a lot more sampson. I think we'd like to see. He had one reception for eight yards. But just generally speaking. I felt the tight ends with be a much bigger part of this offense if you're gonna keep twelve. Oh i mean you've got to do something with them. i mean. we can't see a sticky being a guy who just plays like four or five snaps makes four or five plays in his done. This guy needs to be a really big pardons offense especially in the red zone and we didn't see that from god's see i don't know again if it's more that the pressure is To develop but the tight end tight usage. The play calling doesn't seem to be meshing correctly is something that is a little surprising considering godsey history. Yeah i think. I was the one that say no she. He coming back earlier in the week could change things. He'd be that red zone target. I think always saw that shaheen was a couple of minutes blocks in things that are so again egg on my face. What did you see that you liked. Maybe what you disliked against buffalo. Yeah josh i mean those first. Two drives were brutal. Do think are. They going to drop fifty six again. But you gotta tip that your cats the miami dolphins defense for how. Well these guys responded josh alad despite scoring thirty five points i mean. I don't think he really had too much fun out there. Outside of those first two drives. He only completed half of his passes. Seventeen for thirty three. So technically not half. But it is what it is exhibited howard continues to be abolished. Josh and overall. I mean they gave up thirty five points. This is a game that that's going to go down in the record books as thirty five. Nothing lost But i don't those last points in the last twenty one points. The dolphins gave up. I really can't blame the dolphins defense. That's that's tape you just throw away. I mean it is kind of what it is. And i mean i think the run defense again besides net huge you know i think devon single terry one on touch almost like fifty yard early in the game after that i mean they. Kind of buckled down. I mean they look solid. They were getting pressure on josh allen. Again it was kind of what we thought we needed them to do. But i mean josh allen darn good and the secondary can't latch down that long. Jake a pf ryan smith again. Guys take pro football focus. You know however you want. Some people love their stuff. Some people you know are very skeptical. But they had andhra van. Gingko has the highest rated defensive player with a ninety one point one zach ceelo right behind him as an eighty six point six exuding howard in eighty two point three giovane holland again had a nice game with the seventy seven point. Five an aircr of the seventy six. So you mentioned saving howard. Jake i mean to me it just against the guy that we were back and forth as a fan base. Should they trade him. Should they do this. This dude is a playmaker. He is all over the field and you know when you need him to to change the game and keep them alive. He did that. Andrew van gingko love to see him out there getting more pass rush reps. don't actually have the snack countless here. But i mean. I thought he was all over the field. Biggest concern was jalen phillips again. Only again eighteen snaps will throw egg on my face. But i think it's closer. Maybe time we put him on a milk. Carton opposed anything else but i think no egg monogamy probably lives on that milk. No oh my god. I bet that's starting to get to be a frustrating situation where you have a first round pick who's inactive the first two games of the second season. Obviously i mean you could say that. I do have to say i. it's an emotional game. It happens once a week. But i mean the doom and gloom for the weeks after the week afterwards. Starting monday i. It was one game early in the season. it was awful. Everyone's terrible nothing went right. Nobody did anything right but the Of that is odd saying that's not going to happen again. The odds do say that but then again we're dolphin fans of the last one said you know we're gonna we're gonna win a playoff game right. Dodge should say that at some point of.

He really did it before i jump into that. I just want to throw this out there. Sophy dean just tweeted out crazy stat. I just counted up. Twenty five percent of bills quarterback josh allens career touchdown passes have come against the dolphins so That's that is not good. But but jake we talked about it and i joke that we pre used that spike in reference. I mean i thought i was so happy that i do think. Jalen phillips is going to be a key to this game and one of the big things that came out. Last night was His burst off the line. He was one of the quickest players. He ranked fourth with a seven tenth of a second quickest off the line. According next gen stats. He was the fourth fastest player in the league. With fifteen with minimum fifteen pass attempts to check up the video on the fence. I mean what you saw last week. Was you know. He wasn't going out there. Getting to the quarterbacks per se wasn't he didn't even log a tackle. Maybe not in a quarterback hit but song exploding off the line you saw taking double teams and you truly saw him. You know opening up holes for those stunts to come in and and get pressure on the quarterback so i think we saw twenty two. Snap jalen phillips. I hope that number is greatly this weekend again. I don't want to say that he's going to be the spy or he's going to be the difference maker in this game. But i think when you have an athletic player like josh and you also have a guy like jalen. Phillips drop back in coverage is good against iran can set the edge but can get at the quarterback. I mean i think using him more To your advantage would would definitely go along way against josh aound because the getting pressure on him is going to be the only way this team to win. Yeah josh and i think it's important to kind of put this out. Your too is that we're not gonna you know. Put jalen phillips in the ring of honor because he already has first and foremost. But secondly. Because i don't think this is a stat that he's incredible. This is why he's great. Those statistics are gonna come. But i think it did give us an idea of what the dolphins have seen out of him at what he is capable of given more and more opportunities just to kind of put it into perspective. Josh andrew van gingko was seen as miami's one of these top pass rushers arguably even the top pass rusher outside of abating logbook so it was strange to me the fact that bad kinkel brushed on fourteen passes last week and jalen phillips the rookie. Rush on fifteen passes last week. That's kind of something to think about. I don't know if that's a trend. That's gonna continue. But when the dolphins are going to probably try to mimic what the steelers did and let's play a game where you don't make a lot of turnovers you just play clean football and you wait for your opponent to make a mistake and take advantage of those That's clear what the bills did last time. These guys played But josh i have to say looking at these sets looking out. Jalen phillips ken get into the field and you can have a spine happening on that miami dolphins defense. I'm not entirely sure. We're gonna see that same pressure rate that we saw against doing within week one. Yeah and just to throw out some names with joey. "Mobile dot com and josh kind of mentioned it a couple of times here but the dolphins are finishing up their padded practices before they prepared to take a trip to chicago. Do a couple of practices with the bears and those are going to be exciting to say the least But with monday and tuesday. I believe both of them. Being off days this sunday practice is going to be the last little bit of information we receive until the dolphins make bad trip. So some of the more notable things we have to go back to the wide receivers because that seems to be the tightest most appealing competition. The dolphins have going. I and isaiah ford kirk mare and duquesne grant. Were all catching passes from two. On sunday josh. I think that's maybe the most frustrating thing about some unlike devante parker not being on the field. Someone like willful or not being on the field is not knowing exactly where these guys lined up the depth chart. Because i want to start with this josh. Do you think that devante parker and press or preston williams would either them not be in the starting lineup If opening day was next week. That's a good question. I mean i think press the williams would probably find that uphill battle. But i think you're right devante parker he would absolutely be you know solidified in there. Is that starting receiver but jake to your point. I mean does this. Not just i don't know about you. I'm trying not to fall into the same isaiah ford trap and education grant chat so every year. Because i mean i was i was one i liked isaiah ford in college and you know every time. He's cut brought back for gang gang. Whatever but he's out there making plays and again. We talked about that number twenty jersey. But how much this is. Just camp collins go up sky over top of byron jones. I don't know if you saw that ended it with a dunk. So i mean these are the type of things that i hope it's good to see and camper. It's bad you know. Mccown sky over byron jones. Your huge free agent acquisition. We haven't heard a lot about albert. Excuse me fuller was standing out there today. In sunday's practice. According to bear jackson of the miami herald he didn't have a sleeve or cast or anything covering his legs. So that suggested nothing serious and then moving on elder wilson was out of uniform on sunday with a compression sleeve on his leg but observing and not limping again. From barry jackson and devante parker was in red non contact jersey. So i don't really know what to make of this receiving core rate now josh. Because i don't know if kirk merit is really going to be someone who is going to be pushing for these roster spots despite you know here. We are on august eighth. And he's practicing with the. I don't know how much this is just again. The dolphins being extra cautious again. They're traveling they're basically going to have a scrimmage no these next two practices with the bears and then they go into that preseason games they don't know how much of this is just sitting some your starters but you mentioned we'll fall in the ceylon jake and he was at big signing this all season a lot of dolphin fans had high hopes for him. You don't really want to see that but then next to him was also jalen phillips. So i i kinda wanna talk about this jake like those were to play playmakers. They brought in not only on offense and then defense that they expected. You know to go out there and be able to make plays immediately. This team obviously not will fuller given his suspension but when he was brought in you know they signed him to that contract he was brought in to be opposite of devante. Parker bring that added element brunette speed. So when you see a player a first round pick like jalen phillips. I gotta dolphins drafted. We can get into what that means. They could've went najah hairs. They could want a whole different route there but the that he's on a silent on silent does that give you any reason to be concerned heading into the first week of preseason. I'm gonna go ahead and say i don't think it does josh. It's a slow process. I mean we're going to go back to the thing where we're talking about the madden rosters. Right if you were to launch mad today on opening day and compare that to the first day of the regular season i mean the roster is night and day how different they may look despite. You're not playing it one regular season game and you know willful is not even gonna be there for that first game. I think jalen phillips is someone you want to see him play short-term sure you wanna see him out there in practice. Be you know that guy that we read all the tweets about right. That's kind of why. The dolphins drafted this guy. He was the tweet guy you know at this workout. He looked incredible. Yada yada yada that type of stuff and you know. I'm definitely devaluing. How good he is a player because he's a very talented athlete here. But i think it's okay to be a little slower with these guys. I think we will see phillips out there come the second and third preseason games but we have to keep in mind to josh. It's a little bit of a different approach this year with there only being three preseason games. Yeah i completely agree with you. Jake and i think that's kind of the whole point. I was trying to get at. But you know i guess if it gets in preseason week two and three then we can start to get a little concern. Just read off a couple more of the tweets. You have here. We heard some of the other big plays going on at camp today. I believe jalen wall. You know everyone's saying what's up with a limp because you know you keep hearing. He's limping around. He's going out there. Making explosive plays but jake the biggest news that we had today in something that i don't even think we talked about yet but hunter along the miami dolphins rookie tight end was carved off the field. Today i know we talked about what that meant Drafting him what that meant. Maybe for the future of mike is sticky. But now when you look at that tight end unit when you saw it. It was a lot stronger than it was year ago. Losing hunter is a pretty big blown. It did sound like a serious injury. Unfortunately for the rookie tight end yet josh. One hundred percent rate in the car is usually the The you know the that's kind of a sign that he's gonna miss a lot of time but josh training camp. Maybe they're being safe. Maybe there's an opportunity he can come back and it's more of a scared or anything else but we can't really get an idea on that. I'm sure we'll talk about it after practice. Josh you have to think though that tight end was a big part of miami's game plan. And i don't think that's going to change too much going into the season. A tool has been connecting with durham. Smyth and adam shaheen a lot especially this weekend And we'll see seki start to get more involved as we start to get closer and closer again to opening week but josh i think you know hunter long with someone who i thought was going to have an interesting for the dolphins..

But one of the big ones. I want to bring up is to buy low. I mean you mentioned i believe. Zach wilson at seventy two overall and. Yes i think to the seventy three overall. It's probably right in that area. But i don't know i guess i expected a little bit more. Expect a little more out of some of these ratings but most important to tunnel does that superstar development trait. So if you are going to play a franchise if you are going to get mad in this year You know unlike some of the previous years we had had some of those other turds. No it seems like things might be finally looking up as far as the miami dolphins at least from a video game perspective. Who would ever wanna play with an offense that seventy overall. How fun josh. But i just don't understand how you could have two at seventy three austin jackson at sixty five and i'm going to boot a bad and play with this team online. Because you're doing. Because madden's still does not have a long snapper position and this dude is a twenty-seven overall so just imagine you finally got mad and they just made you a tight end giga twenty seven overall. Like what the hell are you even good for like. They'd probably better off when adam shaheen at long snapper you know. It's it's that's bad. Romanet quarterback i mean that s category yet in terms at. It's just it's it's i get it i understand. I understand the dolphins with the to having that development trait could be pretty exciting but man. I just don't know how you can look at this. It was supposed to go down a little bit this year. But it certainly hasn't seen that way. I mean drunk. Baker being seventy eight. It seems like what the dolphins josh a lot of their top guys of the guys who are rated the highest didn't start on adults there guys they happen to be traded and all of a sudden username and all of a sudden. They're good because you're hearing their name. Which on top of. That really boggles my mind. Yeah maybe to wrap this all together. you know. maybe it's just goes to show you know we're a lot more excited about some of these players. Maybe someone else's you know. Maybe we think drone bakers should be a little higher. But you know there's probably people out to them might think he should be lower so again. These ratings don't mean a damn thing but if you know if you had if you had interest in before again. I think this might be jake jake sitting. You're telling you should absolutely not play for the dolphins. They're going to be absolute cheeks. But i do think you know compared to some of the teams. We've had a chance to play with the mad and this might be one of the better ones one of the more expensive ones. Because i mean you got our wilson those crossers jalen waddell you know. So having someone like jesse davis as reserve is something i think i refer but as i just mentioned last few days. He's been at right. Tackle michael data has been the headstrong beat at the center spot. Josh so like d might be the senator calm day one or week one but you know that's still competition He's been at right guard. Most of the preseason. I think that was one ever pretty much expected and there is some interesting things here but you know the biggest thing and it goes with all the offensive line. We know all the guys in secondary in the defensive lineman its versatility man and i mean. We can't sit here and say you know what i can is going to be in. Nfl you know what might be at center but to hear that he's even competing with a guy like screw with some other guys. I mean that that's at least a good sign for you know him. Having a resurgence is his career. You mentioned jessie davis. Ideally want him. That right tackle but again if they feel like icebergs better suited inside the start the season. Who's gonna argue that. Because then even when i can you know might be ready to go to the outside and protect his blindside. Maybe then they shift. Jessie davis back inside. And you mentioned solomon can lead the big fish. I mean there's so many pieces here. I'm just excited to watch the weight. All shapes out andrew banking goes the starting outside linebacker. I do think that might have had a little bit to do. Jalen phillips i believe he was on the sideline think he was just about an compression sleeve. They said the one day. But i think today at camp house without that so You hope he's out there fast. And then the secondary to me. I don't know about you jake. But nick needham finding out. He's working on a boundary. Yes he experience there before he played pretty well there before but to hear that. He's competed. Eggnog any without Exuding howard and coma. Sounds like he might be like getting that inside. Track there so a little bit a little bit. Concerning when we were sitting here you know hyping up no egg monogamy but at the same time you know. What's that say about niknam because again that's got you just don't count out in this dolphins secondary so A lot of versatile pieces here. And you know you just wonder i think they said you know i was at right. Tackle some of these other pieces were lined up elsewhere. You wonder how much of this is. Just reindeer games with this coaching staff. You know how much they do as they can report this. I mean who knows what's going on behind the scenes. I mean that's just one way to look at it but Versatility is the key here. And i'm excited to see the way it all shakes up and most importantly with this dolphin team as we've seen before jake. It's going to be a battle. I mean you can't say that. Neither teams i think arizona when they drafted saving collins. They called a jordan hicks at day. And they said you know you're you can't even compete for the starting linebacker job. That is not what. I want my team not to just hand the role of somebody so let the cream rise to the top. But he's another guy who's actually sticking out in campus because it's the biggest he sacked to today. I think you say today. And i mean again. We don't wanna talk guys. Keeping say so ray ray comic davis i mean. This is a guy who admitted you know. He was a rookie Hard himself to be completely honest with his play last year. Like you said he came last year. I think he's going to be a you know a huge staple in the middle that dolphin's defense in again. You hear a place camp so hear him. Next to jalen phillips. I think both those players were getting to the quarterback today so again. There's a lot of good things positively dan things to build on. But it's early days into camp. Let's see how this goes. You know as we're approaching the chicago game in some of those other preseason games as we get into the regular season because if we're still here on jalen while making some contorted catches on game day and jalen philipson rincon davis meeting at the quarterback call tapes. Get ray guan. Davis jalen films made the quarterback. I mean that's that's gonna be made for pretty damn good two thousand twenty one season. I think the trenches especially the defensive end of the ball while the dolphins still lacked that top tier pass rusher that they're searching for a is. It's very possible. Jim phillips can be that guy. Adding butler is making noise. I mean christian. Wilkins's isn't going to be the guy who makes the big plays but he he's a he's he's your chris paul. Bond davis is the breakthrough he is one who allows Linebackers kind of spread to the dash marks little more because he can drop back in coverage on wilkins island so while they pass rushers there. I'm excited about the defensive. Front what it can bring to the table. We're not hearing anything awful about the offensive line. In general which. I guess is a cool thing but again Training camp is very unique. Where while no matter what if someone does something good it also means that somebody is doing something pretty bad so it's important to keep that in mind too and josh. I don't know how you go ahead. So i do like these picks the mostly because they weren't needed right they weren't the dolphins weren't desperately needed defensive and yes it wasn't one of the strongest areas but it was something they have gotten by with what they have. So i see these guys coming in in positions that they could really learn grow and not be forced into action like charles harris and not saying the whole other end of the spectrum like the android was playing twelve snaps game game his rookie year shadow. Joe philbin for that logic But i do see someone who can really get comfortable really quickly. Based on the talent. The dolphins have around him. Like i said the guy drone baker and vince beagle who might be behind atrovent ginko of might be behind that defensive of second unit. Who can really help. Stop the run winfield's by make a mess or something like that. Make those rookie errors. I think that's going to do a lot for this team in the competence for these guys at i think best case today or josh. You mentioned that he really turned it on and spinal season in miami. I guess i should say final season in college with miami. That probably would fill would have to do to be strong his rookie year right. I think it probably. I don't see any way. He can start out really fast. But i could see him being someone who by the end of the year. He is so comfortable and the dolphins have an uptown around where he really belongs on that. You know starting eleven defense went back. Actually pull up the article which we can link and whichever article in put now. But i put as a conclusion. I don't know jalen phillips will start on day one after all ryan floors is a firm believer in competition and some of the veterans could hold the inside track but then again the best plan is to play the leading best guys. It's hard to imagine. They're very few on the defensive line. As talented jalen phillips. I then went on to say as the best pass rusher in the country. And the sky's limit so jake debris it all full circle. Man i don't know about you but jalen philipson when he's going to do to that defense it's going to be as impactful as hell and it's going to be on the same level against jason taylor and can't wait ragavan. My chair when i when i heard this take jalen phillips so just a little backstory. I've known about jalen philip. Since two thousand sixteen when he was the number one player in the nation at followed recruiting for a long time. Now for the miami hurricanes and this kid. I had no chance to be miami. Hurricane wasn't even looking at us looking at schools like usc and stanford or whatnot wanted to stay home. He's from redlands california You know he. He obviously went to ucla. So everyone knows that Big things about phillips kinda go The negative things. I so i can end on a positive note with him. he wants a ucla First game of the season two three sacks against texas was looking like the player and he was around at that point he was like six five two thirty ish. she was getting his weight up from high school And you know. He looked like the player. That was the number one player in the nation so regardless position and then he had an ankle injury that hurt his other ankle than he got one concussion and so that ended up really derailing his season for his freshman year. And then you know. He went on to two thousand seventeen eighteen. He started another year at ucla And unfortunately pretty early on in the season he got another concussion. And so the thing that a lot of people don't know ucla's. I'm like a lot of programs in the nation. He had another one concussion in high school. And so if the medical staff and ucla knows that you've had three concussions They will suggest you to medical medically retire because at four they will force you to keep you on.
