"Yesterday. Jake Patterson made his first court appearance connected to the murder of Jamie clauses. Parents and the abduction of Jamie clause. She is with family. She's back in Barron where she was -ducted ninety plus days ago. Now, Laurie pashas a social worker and psychotherapist wanted to talk to her earlier about what the road ahead looks like for Jamie clauses. She tries to move forward. And as she tries to recover, and what the road looks like for anyone who has young children who are asking about this ordeal. That's been in the news. Here's Laurie Pash. What will be the toughest part? Do you believe for Jamie, Kloss moving forward through this to be honest? You know, she has a road. I had of her. You know, I think right now, she's probably somewhat euphoric promotions would be high. It would be the whole sense of that she's back surrounded by loved ones in a familiar environment. But. They're still would be the part that would be surreal for her that she's just gone from one world to another and sort of a connection of that. She's really really home would probably feel to some degree like it's not real. And so she has to transition back, and when people go through trauma, there is a sort of a chemistry that our body. Sort of puts into action to help protect us. And our glance starts to secrete accord is all which puts us in a place where we are protected physically chemically and somewhat psychologically from filling the full impact of all the different emotions. And I'm sure she has some of that going on so initially it would be keeping her sort of closer to home in a familiar environment with just the people that she's the most comfortable with and then little by little starting to bridge. Her reentering the other parts of her life. And she does have, you know, a road ahead of her Melissa barklay is also here, Melissa Laurie. Let me ask you what I know the recovery process for everyone is different after going through an ordeal like this. But what's the what's the first thing that Jamie has to do right out of the gate? What should she be focusing on right now? I think just reconnecting with the people closest to her, you know, when you think of all the different things that this child has experienced from the traumatic loss of her parents two an abduction to finding a way to function and manage the past number of eighty eight days, or however, lying she was gone to then transitioning back and finding a way to reconnect with friends and ultimately school and the community at large. Psychotherapists Laurie pashas with us Laurie for those who have kids at home who seen this in the news. How should we talk to them about what's been going on? Well, I always don't wanna have kids in my practice, and they come in anxious because either they've heard bits of pieces or they hear other kids talk on the playground or they've happened to what the knows I always start with facts that you try to ground the kids with what we really know is true. For example. I would give I I've had several kids the last week bring this up and feeling vulnerable in terms of their own safety. So I read one statistic that said only one hundredth of one percent of kids are actually missing. So if you think about what that looks like if you draw a line down a whole entire room, it'd be a teeny spec, and we're things appear random, and that's the scary part for kids research also shows that these. Abductions are not random. So the majority of them have to do with somebody knows somebody or at someone that is familiar with somebody. And so you say to the kids look at how your life, you know, sort of a setup, you know, everyone in your life. You don't talk to strangers. You don't open the door for strangers. And then I also tell them that more than ninety nine percent of these missing kids all make it home, and they make it home alive. I also talk about the safety of our neighborhoods. Most of us live in really safe neighborhoods. So everybody can be in the lookout, and we have a sense of community a neighborhood where we live that everyone cares and gets involved. So I start with the facts for the kids that is Laurie Pash psychotherapist. I just keep thinking about the things she saw before she was even abducted talking about Jamie Kloss, and how you cope with that. How you close your eyes at night and lay in bed. Win for days,.

"Shocking. New details coming out about the day. Jamie clause was abducted and the day her parents were murdered CBS's. Jamie Yuccas house the details of Cording to the criminal complaint, which it does sound like Jamie story lines up with Jake Patterson story because both of them were interviewed. And both of their statements are in this criminal complaint. Is that Jake actually was at a job at a local cheese shop not that far from Jamie's house several months ago, he spotted her bus leaving as he quit his cheese. Shop job he gets in his car. He starts driving down a highway. He spots the bus drop, Jamie clause off at her home. He looks at that little girl the thirteen year old girl, according to the complaint and says to himself that he is going to kidnap her it is then several weeks later. He goes back to the house a couple of times. He sees many cars in the driveway. He then. Ends up leaving. He gets scared off he decides that there's just too many people around at another point in time and then on the night of this murder back in mid October. He goes to the house tries to break into the home. He uses a shotgun. According to the complaint to get inside the home. We know the sheriff also told us that that was the weapon of choice that appears to be his father's shotgun. He breaks into the home itself. And immediately shoots Jamie classes, father James in the head. He then scans the home and tries to see if there are any other people there as he's looking for, Jamie. And when he starts going through the homie notices a door shut he walks. He tries to check things out. He doesn't see anybody else. He goes back to the door that shot. He opens it up his he then seized a niece. Jamie's mother holding her daughter in the bathtub asked her to get off the nine one one call that the mother has made to nine one one. Remember, we've heard that. There was some shuffling and things that happened on that nine one one call she hang. Up the phone. He then shoots Denise in the head. And he claims to do it in this criminal complaint because he knew she would die. He then ties up. Jamie gets her out to the car and leaves. He says he was in the house a total of four minutes that was it Jamie's then put in the trunk of the car. They drive away. And Jamie says when interviewed by investigators that she actually heard police sirens as they were leaving the home, and she was inside the trunk of that vehicle. Now, he also said that he was driving a Ford Taurus, a red Ford. Taurus, if you remember back in the beginning of this investigation police officer said that they thought they saw a red Ford Taurus, leaving the scene. It's also the same vehicle that on Thursday was stopped by police and Jake Paterson was found inside when they pulled him over on Thursday after Jamie cloths had gotten safe with the neighbors had gotten out of the house at one point and got safe. He said, I know what this is about. I did it. That's according to the criminal complaint. Again in terms of how he kept Jamie hidden. This is also fascinating details and horrific. He apparently when people would come over. He would put her underneath his bed and then stack storage containers full of weights around three sides of the bed with one side of the bed covered with the wall. So that she couldn't get out. He would tell her that. If she tried to get out terrible things what happened to her. He actually according to the complaint had friends and family come over at various times. It looks like his father would come over on Saturdays. He would turn on music and tell her if he may if she made a sound bad things would happen to her. The suspect year old Jake Patterson is making us first-quarter appearance as we speak in the judge set bail. The court has reviewed the criminal complaint almost twelve pages in length. I've considered the allegations as set forth the possible penalties which include life imprisonment and find that substantial cash bail is necessary to ensure. Defendant's appearance in court. I will set bail at five million dollars. I will see you back in court, Mr. Patterson on February sixth at eleven AM, and we'll have much more on today's court appearance. Coming up at four on KRLD..

If you read this criminal complaint in some of the details about this crime are who there is one thing that is telling him that of all the charges that Jake Paterson faces there's charges he is not facing and those who are sexual assault charges. So if there is any sort of silver lining here, and it's hard to find that reading through this certainly Jamie being alive and safe now is one of them. But it appears that there are no charges against Jake Patterson for sexual assault. So hopefully, Jamie avoided that fate when she was kidnapped and held for eighty eight days. But again, and we talked about this on Friday with Jad about giving praise to not only law enforcement agencies, but also to Jamie, and clearly she is the hero in all of this that she was able to get away with unimaginable tragedy. What she witness in her home that night. On October fifteen and then being in the situation that she was in for eighty eight days in this home being kept under the bed. There's details about no bathroom breaks. The the frightened nature. She must have faced when he will find out that she tried to move these bins that he placed. Just unimaginable. That other people coming into the home and her being so scared that she was afraid to call out or run out thinking, she had no idea who else was in on it. But. Just just a tremendous amount of information coming out in again WC at Ulan Arizona's way to baron in an hour and a half. Jake Paterson will be in court to face the charges that he is charged with from the barren county attorney so plenty to discuss on that. But again, we're going to devote the final hour here. Too much lighter topics overrated. Underrated. Underrated properly rated get them together. Eight one eight zero seven what's bugging, you something that you think.
