Guentzel, Kapanen fuel rally as Penguins slip by Vegas 4-3
"The penguins scored twice in the third period to hand the golden knights just their second regulation loss in 13 road games this season. Four to three. Jake ensel and kasperi kapanen tallied one 52 apart to give the pens a victory in their first game since defenseman Chris la Tang suffered a stroke on Monday. Genzel tied it 7 33 into the final period, kapanen gave Pittsburgh, its first lead of the night. The last game I played before. You know, I got healthy and I missed that wide open that. "So that kind of also affects I think they're yearlong performance as well. Jack, this might be a bit of a nitpick for me, but I guess this time of year are these things matter. I know you've been on this. I'd love to see them flip flop their top 6. I want to see more Crosby and Raquel. I get the Crosby gensel and Russ have done a lot of cool shit together over the past couple of years, but I'm really intrigued by the smallest flashes, whether it's been a three on three or what have you of the skill level that Raquel brings with Crosby that Russ just I don't think really has. And we've seen rust have success with Malcolm 5 and 5 so I don't even think it's like that big about unknown. I just think that I can't help shake this feeling, I guess, that it provides them with kind of more potential offensive upside or can give the rangers more problems if they go that route. But it remains to be seen whether they actually do. Yeah, 100% and look, what's the point of having me on the podcast if we're not going to nitpick penguin's line combinations? I totally agree. I mean, Jason ducker's hurt, he's going to miss at least games one and two. If I had a healthy penguins lineup, I would absolutely be putting Raquel with Crosby. And then asked Zuckerberg Crosby and putting Jake ensel and Brian rust with a Guinea mall in just to spread things out a little bit just because they've tried malkin and Zucker so many times. And it's just never really worked. But with Zucker out, I see why Crosby against will need to stay together. But yeah, malkin and Raquel, it's been kind of on and off since he came back. I know malkin has had a whole lot of bad on ice puck luck. His passing metrics are all just as good as they usually are. He just has not been able to get them to actually finish them. Last time I checked, they had Brock mcginn playing with her getting a malkin, which I really hope doesn't get pursued any further. But yeah, I mean, again, this is going to be such a tight series. And the nitpicks are going to matter. I think that this is going to be, it's either going to be a very long series, or it's going to be a short series in the rangers favor. I don't really see it being the other way around, which means every small decision the penguins make is going to be hugely important. Yeah, I completely agree. All right, well, that's kind of all I had on this series. Are you guys good with rapping this up? We went 12 minutes on this one, which is still more than we anticipated, but less than we did on the other three. So I don't know how to take that. Yeah, I guess the one other thing I want to say is that, you know, these teams played four games against one another this year. The rangers outscored the penguins. Didn't you already drop the stat earlier? What? The rangers versus penguins head to head. Well, no, but as I was looking at it again, I didn't remember that it was 11 to four..
