Rep. Jim Jordan Shares His Thoughts on SPYGATE

"Jim Jordan, the legend, one of the most courageous and honestly effective members of Congress for all things that matter. And I'm so honored to have him with us on this breaking news day with the Durham information. Congressman, welcome back to the Charlie Kirk show. Good to be with you, Charlie. Thanks for all the good work you're doing. Thank you. So I'm just blown away. I'm blown away that we have now information that shows that Hillary was not just spying on the campaign, but while he was president. The floor is yours? Yeah, we'll go from there. Yeah. No, you're exactly right. And remember, when president Trump said it in 2017 they're spying on me and all the press and the Democrats said no, no, no, that's not happening. And then in 2019, we had the attorney general in the United States. Say that they're responding to a place. There was the basis for his concern about that spying. And of course, the press and the Democrats had the same reaction. No, no, no. Well, now we know for certain that they weren't just spying on president Trump's campaign, but as you point out they were spying on spying on the sitting president of the United States flying on the commander in chief of the United States. That is how bad this is. And what I think is amazing is, if you read the filing and then what's been written about it, it wasn't just tech executive one as jaffe guy and investment, they were communicating with Mark Elias. The top Democrat, the Democrat top election lawyer, the chief council for the Clinton campaign. He was in on this two to some degree. And I think that's telling because this is the guy who is now going around doing all the things he's doing filing election complaints and concerns against Republicans and the redistricting everything else. It goes right to the chief council of the Clinton campaign based on what we learned from mister Durham this weekend.

Sophie was trying to explain to me her feelings in how far she had the extent herself and she had the emotional reaction she actually sank into the feelings and was crying on a plane and it snapped me back into because we haven't had one of those things in years so it's not me right back into. Oh my job is not to protect my position here. My job is to understand hers right now and i think if i remember the experience it being able to snap into that created again safe enough environment it'll be processed needed a process and be held and feel safe by my partner because we're on the same team and not like it wasn't about defending anything it was like these are my feelings. This is what i went through and it was really hard for me if it like. It's harder for me to remember because it's been so long that the level of trauma you'd been through before we met and read in those things first of all. I traumatized you. Yeah within the first year of our ship and then you went through years of that beforehand. So you know it's kind of weird but you get to know your partner as almost like a symbol of themselves right have like a. It's almost like a baseball card. Who they are you go. oh selfie. She's this she's this old and she has three kids but inside. Your experience is so much more nuanced and it's so much. I'm sure to this day. Memories of your ex. And i had sex yesterday and i'm saying that because we had this thirty minute window. I want to talk about how you juggle the kids. We have only one and we're like okay. We have thirty minutes. Let's you know. It's funny. Because i being a hopeless romantic i always laughed at the idea of scheduling sex. Now that the never going to do that. That's so ridiculous. And so now everything's in google calendar and it's also i to actually get real about what happened so he said we've got thirty minutes. Let's make out. And i was like don't do that. We've got thirty minutes. we're going to have sex. Just say we're going to have sex. Don't say we're gonna make out. Because i'm gonna get annoyed when you want to have sex when i you're gonna wanna have sex. Just say we're gonna have snacks and he was kind of dislike. Don't even know if you really started me. Think back to that where you're like. Well i don't want it to be so logical. And i was like i get it and right now with logical. We've got thirty minutes. We're going to have sex. Just call like me. "Sometimes that's true. The the natural default is drift. I think i think a lot of people think that relationship. Oh we've decided to love each other now. It's good now now it's safe. But because we're always evolving and growing and changing in who we were last week is not who we are today and so the natural progression of life does does kind of you know separate us and we have to actively like you said communications huge. I love that. And i want to put in there too that there is something to be said for. It's not even if you're constantly doing the work and you're showing up for each other. It's not going to be good all the time. And i also think that that's something that people like a misconception especially with we'll see us online and they have some kind of idea of what our relationship looks like right where it's like. There's an ebb and flow or like an expansion and contraction. That is very normal in relationships. And just because you're in a state of contraction doesn't mean the relationship over or it's going to be over your back. We were traveling back from a trip. We went to friends wedding. And we kept getting at each other's nerves on the flight back in landing and we'd just spent three weeks on vacation with the family and we. We didn't want to travel again but we have to travel to this wedding and so sophie said something that hit me really well outside allowed me to kind of reset. Hey i'm having a really hard time. I'm processing everything really. Well please just take it easy with me right now. I'm having a really hard time. Which was very different. Like she was mad. She very mad at me but she was able to own the she just having shooting time right now. So she's going to take it out on me. Because i'm the person she can take it out on skokie some water and the old me would have been fighting with her like show her that. It's inappropriate to talk to me this way. The current version. Especially because the way you said it so said okay. I'm gonna go get water. I walked inside. There was no water get sat down for like forty five seconds collected myself.

Take joy from that and make yourself stronger because of all of that adversity. Because there's just no question you'll be better off if you do embrace it it. It's a perfect way to end. Although I think we're GONNA have to do a part to Joseph Jaffe because your mind would be a terrible thing to waste and I've already learned so much that we have to pivot. We have to Embrace change when it comes our way. We have to make lemonade at a lemons and You know be open and passionate always be open. Always be curious and I mean even you and I met Probably serendipitous deal randomly bumping into one. Another you know at at the a You gotta be open you got to be open to all of these signs and And if you do you know that curiosity that you know my my kids. By the way I'll say very quickly I know we have to go But my kids kind of like they always chastise me because I make friends wherever I go. Why do you talk to that stranger on the plane? Why did you talk to the person in the security lane? Wh why you always just you know like trying to find things in common with strangers and and and my to them because you never know who you're GonNa meet and you never know what you're gonNA take away from that random encounter almost always it's GonNa Overdeliver as opposed to under- delivering just Jaffe. It's quite a living. It's.

"Hey It's be moss and this. Is it episode. One of it's quite a living. And it's my personal podcast. After doing dozens of podcasts for other businesses I wanted to combine a little bit of the business with a little bit of the personal so I am talking to people that I've crossed paths with mostly in the business world in some fashion or another probably because I've had a bunch of different jobs different careers I've done. Everything from being a singing telegram stork at a baby shower to impersonating Bette. Midler to running ED sales marketing for some major media companies. So along the way I've crossed paths with people who don't just say it's a living they get to say it's quite a living and I wanted to know what took them down their career path. What they've learned and maybe even why they named their dog fluffy who knows but we're going to have conversations with people who can claim it's quite a living first up. Is Joseph Jaffe. I met Joseph because I used to read his blog all the time. Jaffe juice great for media and marketing insights and then I saw him a few times as a keynote speaker in the industry he super smart. He was at the top of his game in marketing and became an author of about five business books now. His current book is called.

"A Lisa Jaffe as we continue covering the story and at least we've got some new numbers here for Washington yes the death toll keeps climbing across our state as a result of the corona virus pandemic a county by county count shows at least two hundred twenty five deaths the majority in hard hit king county which has seen the disease kill at least one hundred fifty people thirty three deaths reported in Snohomish county seven in Waukon county Pierce Clark and Benton counties each report at least six code nineteen deaths the state's top public health official meantime says corona virus continues to spread outside the Seattle area we go to come was Charlie harder for that part of our coverage Dr Kathy Lopes has a lot of concerns she's the public health officer for the state department of health first there's the increased percentage of positive Kobe tests then there is the spread to dozens of nursing homes and the rapid spread outside the Puget Sound area unfortunately the number of deaths from Kobe nineteen reported per day has also gradually been increasing which is concerning to me as well in a press briefing she says data and modeling point to the outbreak reaching its peak in Washington state on April nineteenth despite the bad situation Loki says it could have been worse she credits the social distancing efforts that went into place early around here keeping the growth rate much lower it in places like New York and Louisiana Charlie Harker colonials so far so good when it comes to ventilators in Washington state the word from governor Jay Inslee's chief of staff David postman who knows there's a lot of competition among the states for those critical devices as the corona virus pandemic continues I heard that we made an order and then lost it because somebody out this postman says the state has enough ventilators right now and recently placed an order for one thousand additional devices with private companies will tomorrow the angel of the winds arena in ever it will be used as a quarantine and isolation facility the arena will be separated into two sections one and it will be for those who have been exposed to corona virus need to be monitored for symptoms the other section will be for those showing symptoms of the disease Snohomish county executive Dave Somers says is for those who might not be able to recover in their own home or perhaps don't have a home most people will stay here for a matter of days for up to two weeks fourteen days again will be closed when we no longer need it for this purpose so at this point we can't really give you a closing date up to a hundred people could be housed there six thirty four let's find out how does that commute slick and right now let's turn it over to travel full time for a check on our traffic good evening we're watching a crash in Seattle on cellphone five just after on nine ninety is blocking the right lane she wants you to the left to get by there is because it just a bit of a hesitation also in Seattle the carpool lane is blocked with a crash on southbound five at the west Seattle bridge in west Seattle the traffic signals are all flashing red in all directions at thirty Fifth Avenue southwest and southwest Barton street to remember to treat that isn't always stop in Winlock an earlier crash we were watching on southbound five as cleared but there is still some slowing between Sargent road overpass and highway five oh five any granite falls an earlier crash it was there for quite awhile and canyon drive it mountain loop highway that's cleared as well with no longer any slowing through the area this report is sponsored by account temps demand for top talent is at an all time high keep your project moving with highly skilled accounting and finance professionals from Accountemps Accountemps a Robert half company our next come on traffic at six forty four now you're como eco roof forecast with Shannon o'donnell everybody Tuesday night here in the great Pacific Northwest still seeing some scattered showers rolling through storm drains and then you get a story break and then it rains again chance for thunder lightning though diminishing as we head into these after dark hours and we're gonna drop way down to the thirty so it's chilly enough to get that snow level right over the passes as well we'll see it driving slowly but surely on the first of April after some morning showers a better chance for sun breaking through by the afternoon is the slow bobbles await eastern Washington at highs on Wednesday back closer to fifty couple weather center I'm meteorologist **** no doubt some of our heavier rain showers including hail on the east side Redmond Kirkland bottle areas now downtown we have forty eight at komo news the trump administration today.

"Jaffe I'm Rick fansites editing the news this Friday afternoon is bill o'neill president trump is defending its policies concerning the border the commander in chief told a crowd in Vegas right now that is administration has deported record numbers of gang members and done more than any others before him he held a rally a day before Democrats hold their presidential caucuses in Nevada the search continues for the gunman who shot and killed a seven eleven clerk on highway ninety nine in Edmonds early this morning Edmonds police reviewed surveillance video and released a still photo of the suspect we have that posted online at komo news dot com a revelation from intelligence officials that Russia wants president trump reelected has led to the firing of the interim director of national intelligence The Washington Post Shane Harris spoke with come most Jeff foe July Joseph McGuire was fired from his job as the Intel director after Congress was briefed on Russia's intentions why did that make the president so angry what made America a couple of reasons one was that he felt he was hearing this for the first time not directly to him in a briefing but rather he was getting it from Republicans in Congress could this have happened the day before he met with his intelligence officials and also in the president does not believe that this it is genuine information he thinks that the idea that Russia would be trying to assist him he said it is largely a hoax in he has concerns expressed today also on Twitter that Democrats are trying to use information like this to undermine his campaign and questioned his legitimacy how did the breezy come about in the first place for the breeding and actually that was given to members of Congress is required by law this is a full committee briefing the house intelligence committee in a classified setting and the purpose of it was for officials to monitor threats to the election things like foreign interference and possible manipulation of voting machines in these kinds of concerns to give Congress gonna lay of the land of where things stood right now in the course of this briefing is windows ten at the main official from the intelligence director's office from M. Shelby Pierson who can oversee the legal action security efforts expressed on several occasions that the Russians had in her words and developed a preference for Donald Trump in the elections so this information which was obviously pretty explosive in the pandas stand it quite divisive in the room came in the context of a kind of you know updated here's what we're seeing that Russia and potentially other countries are doing with regards to possibly disrupting the twenty twenty election so let's get to the why why does Russia want president trump to win reelection well it did did the assessment seems to be that they view the trump administration is more favorable to Russian interests and that is obviously a very broad kind of idea but certainly if we look at I think you know where where the administration has been in the past three years it's interesting they have led me to some very tough sanctions against Russia the old record numbers of Russian diplomats were believed to be working as spies in the United States so the administration has been pretty tough on the Russians but of course what you have in the form of Donald Trump as the president someone who talks repeatedly about wanting to improve relations with Russia he's taken taken Russia at their word he said that they did not interfere with the election so even though the administration has been very tough on Moscow you have somebody who is actually I think quite friendly to Latimer Putin you know sitting in the White House I think that is probably something that they would find advantageous was it clear how Russian tends to behave in the twenty twenty election we don't really know that and it's not clear to us more reporting that specifics on what the Russians might be doing or are doing was part of the.

"Anniversary week of the broadcast I believe this is the anniversary of the day I first wanted to fire Jaffe and I can still remember it looking at him shaking his head like you sock on the other side of the glass and it reminded of it now everyday use hair every day I still see some our another and in also stew who has been with me and on this twentieth anniversary week I think it is only appropriate that we make a special announcement on still very excited to bring to blaze TV dot com as well as you tube and podcast anywhere you go a brand new program featuring myself stew it's gonna be stew hosting the show it's going to be about America and I'm going to be doing things on the show and that's how we came up with a title Stu does America and something America desperately need right I mean Debbie did Dallas right why not you do American works spending a little bit yeah I get this on your little area right you really need to the whole country needs this really excited about this yeah system is doing his own daily show he will still be on this program he'll just I don't be more tired then than usual and arity looks so so every day we thought if there's somebody that needs to be on television it's one of us and I'm already there so still it's your turn yeah I'm very excited about it I mean you know could be a TV show every every night as well as a podcast so you can get for free on YouTube or on your progress I would encourage you to go to you the you to page organised do does America dot com all the social links everything or their and sign up and subscribers so somebody's listening to this thing or just talking to nobody and it'll be kind of in our comedy roster we have Stephen Crowder yeah and also and and stew will be adding generator as well Chad pre through isn't really really funny and we thought you know a higher of that higher the handicap moon tires do yeah you know you can hit home runs any for every pitch no you're certainly not and it's to get hit by the pitch to get on base if you love Jon Stewart the daily show you're not gonna like this but but if you're like Trevor Noah you're still not gonna like this you'll be like wheres but it's it's actually it's actually a comedy show with that smart and will help people digest the news of the day with with humor is something we've tried to do here and you know a lot of people have told us over the years that perhaps is not the best idea but we have decided to try to treat the audience as if they are intelligent now we don't know everyone in the audience there could be a lot of really stupid people there no I'm sure there are everybody has to be some jam have fifty million foot print of fifty million people and not have some real dummies the moral is not you not if you're listening right now it's not not you people probably they were listening the last hour you you are the smart ones they're the dummies rational yeah you're special you made a difference your get a rope but I mean that is a different thing I think then you're getting across the media landscape right now I mean look you can get some conservative content and there's a lot of great stuff out there but there's been a the I think a a a lack of this in the media as a whole the anyone who's going to admit that conservatism is into the same thing as **** ism or racism or you go to the media it's hard to find that it's hard to find stuff that we you know eat a lot of time just kind of get either something that entertaining or something that has some intelligence to it we're going to try to do both of those things but we probably will never fusion of entertainment and enlightenment however we promise never to do both at the same time because that's overwhelming right here one of and we'll clearly don't find them yeah for everybody in a Soros organization yes so they can just they can protest art organization easy I honestly this is why a lot of the humor is is gone from the right because you bought a there's a lot of fun funny people of Iraq not you now you and your you're better than that but it's almost impossible to do humor because you that they'll destroy you they'll destroy you yeah and if your happen to be an old Lister of mine you know we've had to strip back a lot of the comedy on this program because it just you we could not survive with it they were killing us every step of the way that's why we built the blaze that and that's why we can do whatever the hell we want yeah joy it yeah seriously this is a great reason to subscribe to it I mean if you go to place TV dot com you can use the promo code actually can use from could still use from because do I think that I think they're doing some special or something offer there maybe some extra money off go head do that I think not pay you if you subscribe to show I'm not sure if you can do it over and over again get really rich so see if it works yeah but the point is to have a place that's safe harbor for people who are conservative who actually treat their audience with some intelligence and some respect and that what we all know that you know jokes your jokes I mean richer bass has proved this to be true and he's only able to do it because the guy treated the freaking office right how do you think he's going to survive do you think he's obviously going to be able to survive you know there was a part of me that thinks he can do it because of the very unique person he is he's incredibly well respected in the world of comedy which is in worship helis right he's he's English he has incredible accomplishments that are like you know get the cost which was an incredible accomplishment that you have the because they show you actually I was already reading people so that's a lot different you know Louis C. K. is is is another guy who got accused of that stuff but he was another one who looked untouchable at one point and or maybe two touchable this particular case exactly untouchable all probably used such taxable but Jr bases in that perfect storm it seems like we're he's really credible and just being honest he's.

"Is a huge field Alexandra Jaffe thank you so much for sitting down with me and talking through this absolutely thanks for having me okay here's another change that will impact Democrats seeking the presidential nomination DNC chairman Tom press told me that some states that previously held caucuses will now hold primaries are Norstar here is we want to return our power to the grassroots that's why we will have more primaries and less caucuses I firmly believe that when more people participate in primaries have larger participation that's good for democracy so first some definitions what actually is a caucus and how is it different from a primary well a caucus is actually meeting you meet at a certain time in a certain place where as a primary is vote you go in and you vote privately that's just link he's participated in a lot of caucuses we're gonna come back to him but first let's turn to Jim Messina long time democratic political strategist Obama twenty twelve campaign manager who thinks it's a good thing that some states such as Minnesota and Colorado are swapping the caucus for a primary that levy is one of the concerns that we are going to nominate someone who's not in the mainstream as you know candidate Sanders B. candidate Clinton and all the caucus states and lost unless the primary student can edit Obama do really well in the caucus state did tremendously long talk states we also did pretty well on the open states as well missing this point is this caucuses tend to attract the most committed partisans an activist these are the people who are willing to spend several hours on a random weekday to cast just one vote those activists tend to be motivated more by ideology than your everyday primary voters on the democratic side they're usually much more liberal than the party as a whole on the Republican side more conservative caucuses are also less expensive for candidates than traditional primaries that's because the universe of potential voters is also smaller you don't need to spend millions of dollars trying to reach them all on TV the most famous or infamous caucus however is not going away Babcock is of course is Iowa after the problems of twenty six teen Democrats in the state have made some reforms on things like transparency of votes cast an ability to cast a ballot without having a show about a caucus I asked George link a longtime Iowa democratic strategist about the role that I will plays in the presidential nominating process Iowa has been a place where those who beat expectations can sometimes become the winner in with this large a field I think everyone sort of expects the current front runners of Biden and Sanders to do well and there is a huge opening for any of the other eighteen candidates like who gets third just one of the names that are not so familiar now get second or actually win the caucuses so we could see somebody come from no where or in the other is not that someone does unexpectedly well but that a candidate does unexpectedly poorly it could it's a double edged sword one of the scariest things to have in Iowa is an early lead because you've got to maintain that lead and if you don't I mean remember Howard Dean in two thousand four was ahead for a long time in Iowa and dropped at the last minute and John Kerry ended up winning and really the dean campaign spiraled down hill very quickly after that do you feel it when you're in your own caucus there's I get an actual energy therefore it can it can you really get a sense of I think so and so really is going to win this thing you absolutely do and I'll tell you one story from two thousand eight I was at my precinct senator Harkin happen to show up with senator Durbin from Illinois the Clinton people all showed up the Obama people were kind of milling around but there was a line that extended from the gymnasium all the way out the door literally outside and that was the line for people trying to register to vote and I member walking senator Durbin out the hallway to look at the line and I said I think your Canada it's going to have a very good night tonight obviously Barack Obama surprised a lot of people by winning the Iowa caucuses but you could feel it in the room at our precinct Jeff link is a democratic strategist from Iowa hello well support for the take we come from Babel a language learning app developed by language specialists and voiced by native speakers using speech recognition technology battles.
