"And 5 targets for receptions week two, so that's a total of ten targets. That's very efficient through two weeks. They're three touchdowns on ten targets is pretty unsustainable. Dude, he's a red zone beast. He's got three touchdowns on 7 receptions. That's insane. And he just said ten targets. I'm just like even making that look even better on 7 receptions. It also makes me think he's playing 88% of the staff to be one 99% week two DF Samuels snap count. Yeah, see? Oh, I spelled Samuel, wrong. Right, pretty similar. Because I think they play three wide a lot. Let's see, Curtis has 71 and 89. Yeah. I don't know. I think datsun's gonna start eating into that same workflow. But I do think right now he is a great start. Yeah, he might eat into the work actually for what you paid for him. Yeah, he's getting he's getting the targets and folks. I do believe one wise person on this podcast did suggest that people should go pick up kurtis Samuel at the beginning of the year before the season started because I believe they said he was bus proof. Who was that? Oh. That was me. Oh my gosh. And I also thought Corey Davis could pass through. Corey Davis and Curtis Samuel. Good calls, Ryan. You said Jacoby Myers. I did say Jacoby Myers too. Oh my gosh, dude. I don't even know if he's been good so far this year. I have no interest in patriots players. I don't think he's been bad, but I don't think he's been amazing. Just real quick. Jacoby Myers is the number 23 wide receiver in the league so far. So everyone as usual catch a few balls a game. Yep. Yep. So all right. Let's move on. Fine. My start of the week is Christian Kirk. 18 targets are two games for our Anthony's Jacksonville Jaguars. Yep. He's getting the opportunity you want to see out of a number one wide receiver and he's delivering results.

"Whereas the pagers are going to say, well, let's just look at last year. You're not comparable. And that's going to be, that's going to be the sticking point. And generally, the players win those when those conversations. Because some team somewhere is going to buy into, would you call me Myers has been more consistent and maybe he still has on top potential and we like that. I don't think the Patriots would be that team because they're generally not that team. But that's where it gets interesting to me. I look at him 8 million per year, probably about right, because again, I think he still does have value. But his special if the patrons are going to do this whole Shanahan thing on offense, they need guys who can create after the catch, and that's just he's not that kind of receiver. He ceases to be a scheme fit. If they're going to go that way. And you're not going to pay somebody that kind of money who is potentially going to get schemed out of your system. So that's where Matt with Jacoby right now. I think this is a big year for him. You know, I say this all if you're taking notes on what I'm saying to try to cold take me, write it in pencil. I'm saying this all in pencil. This is all subject to change. But as we sit here today, that's how I feel about it. I have concerns about extending Jacoby Myers for too much money because you mentioned the yards after catch I have a stat right here from pro football focus. I looked up receivers that had over a hundred targets last year. So we're talking about high volume guys, right? A hundred plus targets. There was 37 of them. And yards after catch per reception on average. Jacoby Myers was 36th at a 37 receivers in yards after catch per reception. And yards per route run. So just taking the amount of routes that he ran divided by yards, he was 31st at a 37 in that high volume category. So.

"Great, but let's say they're going to feel goal. Big freaking whoop de do. It's 17 to 7, you're down, you're down two scores. If they kick a few goal, it's 20 to 7, you're still down 13 points. You're down two scores. So dolphins are not scoring a touchdown there. They're not. Two is not air in the ball downfield. They have two plays over 20 yards, the whole freaking game. And one was probably by two a running the ball. And so I thought they had much more to gain by going for it. Not a whole lot to lose. You get it. You at least get a field goal at 17 to ten, you get the ball to start the second half. You get a touchdown. Your bad starts all over. It's zero, zero, what have you. They ended up getting a field goal. But to me, there was much more to gain there, not much to lose, and I thought it was just another example like the Tampa Bay game and other games where Belichick is just for some reason he's coaching scared. I don't know if it's Mac Jones. I don't know if it's the offense in general, whatever it is, I didn't like it. I haven't liked a lot of those decisions, give the team some confidence. Go for it. What do you have to lose? I mean, it's a difference in one seed. Nothing on the line. What's the lose? Just go for it. Right, and at that point in the game, you're not scoreboard monitoring buffalo in the jets, which by the way was a field goal game at 1.2. It made you think like, oh, maybe there is a chance at the division. But as it turns out, buffalo pulled ahead. Before we get to three up three down, you want to give one last thought on Mac Jones and his assessment. I think this kind of ties into what you just talked about, confidence. And man, after that fourth and one call, I mean, you can see the reaction on his face, body language, not great. Yeah, I didn't think Mac played very well at all in this game. I mean, he played well late when the dolphins were basically in very soft coverage, a lot of cover for a lot of zone. He's fine with that. But otherwise, before that, I think before the final drive, let's see before. So he had the. So when he threw that sideline passage Jacoby Myers, and he had two of those. Jacoby Myers and hunter Henry great passes, a little flat, you know, those were tough catches..

"You know, they'll get those cleaned up. I think this is, you know, this long weekend is a perfect time for that. The biweek coming up is a perfect time for them to sort of reset for some of these things. I thought the running backs were great, the offensive line was good. Receivers were solid, some mistakes here and there like Jacoby Myers coming out of his break on third down. I didn't think it was great. Hunter Henry was wrong on the end zone in completion where Mac shot it to the back flag, even though, I don't know if it would have been completed. I could Mac was right on film, in my opinion, Mac was right on that. So very minor stuff that they have to clean up. If they would have cut down the mistakes just a few, they'd probably score 40 in that game. So I'm not overly alarmed with the offense or the team at all. I do think there are some things that if I were playing the Patriots that I would try to do and we'll discuss that. But yeah, really, really good solid victory. Look at Thursday night. Yeah, 5 O on the road so far. And we know, you know, Belichick. And really every football coach takes pride in that. But you know how good of a football team you have or how much you can trust the team by what they do on the road. And they're 5 and O on the road, even against bad teams on the road. You have some funkiness. We saw that with the bills and Jacksonville a couple weeks ago, you know, you can slip up on the road. And of course, the Pats had the brutal first half against Houston. But all in all, 5 O on the road. I mean, that speaks volumes to how mentally tough this team is. I do believe. And you hit the nail on the head Greg. Look, Thursday night. And this is not an excuse. But for years now, Thursday night is funky, it's clunky. You don't really know what you're going to get. It's a short, quick, fast turnaround. And sometimes you just have to fight through and win a game. And I feel like that's what the Patriots did. They dominated this game. It was the mistakes. As you mentioned, it was the bad pick by Mac when he had Nikhil Harry wide open down the sideline he threw it into double coverage down the seam to John who that was a bad play, bad decision by Mac. But most of all you look at the flags, a couple of flags on the offense, a holding that got them. You also had a couple of sacks that just killed them in tough times, Jacoby Myers fell on one of his routes, that kind of stalled the drive. Kind of simple mistakes. And defensively,.

"Sign here, this isn't about the Patriots didn't want him. I don't want to see people in the chat on Thursday, bitching. Why didn't they sign hotel? They need Odell. They want him. They are trying to sign him. They can't force him to come here. He has to ultimately choose the Patriots. I'm not saying the Patriots are a bad option. This isn't me saying, you know, 'cause I know this was a narrative. Oh, Brady left and players don't want to play here. And players hate Bill. Like, that's not what this is. Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are two top 5 quarterbacks. Yeah. Mac Jones has been great. He's not there yet. There's really attractive options on the table for Beckham. I don't think the pagers are out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes here. But I just think at this point, the ball is in his court. I truly believe the offer has been extended. They think he would help the team. They want him. They are trying to get him. Now it's let's see if they do. I don't think this is a matter of them not wanting him. I don't think it's a matter of them thinking he's not good that they can get by without them. They want to add him. It really feels like that. So I don't want to see that. I don't want to see oh, they should have signed Odell. They know they should sign odes. It's pretty clear at this point. They know they should sign hotel. He just has to agree to come here. That to me is, you know, it's on him at this point. It's up to him. Yeah. So the last thing I had on my list of things actually relates to Odell. So we can go into it. At some point in time, and look, I love Jacoby Myers story, right? I love Jacoby Myers a story, but at some point in time we might have a tough need to have a tough conversation about Jacoby Myers because well, first of all, this was not a good game for him against Carolina. Right, I mean. He has the bobble play on third down where Mac throws him past the sticks and he bobbles it and gets tackled the yard short. I mentioned on the fumble, the strip sack by Brian burns that it was Myers that couldn't get open on the route that was taking too long. Forced Mack to hold the ball in the pocket. The problem that I see with him is not that he's not an NFL receiver..

"Book for over 25 years. Greg, we got to talk about this, Houston, Texans game. It was awful in the first half. It was better in the second half. I want to start with three things that you feel better or at least good about. Yeah, so let's just start with the passing offense in general, Nick. I did I did feel well actually, let's make number one just the offense in general because I think that I think that they're performance has been sort of undersold. I think that I think that they were efficient. It wasn't perfect and we know this. And we know the deal with the offensive line going in and we'll get to those guys. But I mean, you're talking about an offense, and they are going against Texans, I understand. And I don't just look at, you know, who they're playing and in the bottom line production. I look at other things like, you know, basically, are they executing? Are they executing better? Because when things don't work in football, it's because the players are not executing. People love to talk about play calling in this and that. But they're just really, are they blocking the guy in front of them? Are they running the right route? Are they catching the ball? Is the quarterback making the right decision? So look, the Patriots, you know, get the ball after the defense can never get off the field and for first quarter. They go ten plays for touchdown. The next drive, they go 8 plays and Damian Harris fumbles on, look, I thought it was a crappy call. I mean, I don't know, even on the all 22, it's not clear where he fumbles. To me, he I don't know how you overrule the call in the field, but I'm not really, I'm not one to complain about officiating calls. Before halftime, they do go 9 plays 42 yards getting position for a field goal. Jacoby Myers drops that pass. Yeah. That there was one there was one defender there. I doubt that he scores, but I do think he gets inside, say the 15 yard line at least. And now you're talking about maybe they have a chance. There's plenty of time on. So I think there was like about 50 seconds left when that pass happened. So now you're talking about an opportunity.

Rest of sees daniel jones over him by mile and i would take bridge over him right now. I just think you look at darnold. I don't know if this is his ceiling but might be feeling where he was living in that low twenties range. I'd say it's been a little disappointing. You know especially against the jets. Say they had a lot of opportunities for more and he just didn't really do enough But so far he's been start a ball. They corrected that last week Let's see we got more anyway. She kobe meyer. Did you give a number on you. Three i wanna give it another week. I just don't want to give up on him. To some jacoby myers. I don't want to go up on susan. Odd because an eight in non pr and three npr. Yeah jonah smith. If i needed a tight end and i saw him on the waiver wire i'd pick them up so i wouldn't drop them zero three best all right. Let's get a little bit deeper into the waiver. Wire here with the options that we have not talked about at quarterback the players that are rostered in seventy five percent or more of leagues that might be available or just fields and kirk cousins just for perspective. Where are you going to rank. Justin feels this week. at cleveland. i think sixteen for me. It's probably somewhere around. That for me. To cousins is in my top twelve them. I thought done. You guys were talking about rb. Five and rb ten. My daughter quinn. Said it's pretty funny that they are talking about arby's right now and in the drive through. I wonder what they're ordering craft crack me up figuring you guys will get a good laugh. Thanks for what you do. yes. I like that now. I want arby's thank you did. They still have. Rv's new your office. I don't think i've ever unit arby's all beef and cheddar. I could eat ten of them. They're delicious and they're very light and they remind me of fantasy football now. So thank you. Christopher for that okay your news and notes new england release cam newton jamie and i did a bonus podcast on this on tuesday. Heath you want to give you a reaction here. Jacoby myers the tight ends the running backs. Whatever slight boost jacoby myers slight boost for damian harris. Slight boost for james slight boost for the tight ends Harris is the only one. I'm drafting as a reggae top. Twenty four and he is right in that gus edwards ranged from me. John who's a borderline number one tied. Nettie can't decide. If i actually want to put him by top twelve but i think it's a better chance. Now that one of the patriots tight ends will be good. And i moved nelson al gore into my top one fifty. Ok the thought. This was interesting last year for james white. He first five games of the season. I think jacoby myers either did not play or played fewer than ten percent or fewer of the snaps basically completely uninvolved. Then once meyer started playing james white averaged three point eight targets and two point eight catches per game. I really don't know that this matters but just want you to know i did the i did the research. This is what i think. That's you know cam just doesn't have that in.

"Extra points a week and if they get your russia any better yeah i kinda murray last share and it was funny he would have a shit game but would still end up with like twenty plus points because he rushed for sixty eight yards or whatever so it was always like his game was in game whereas like my new lord and savior mack jones. Yeah he's he's not going to be getting those rushing yards but what he will get. You wins touchdowns super bowls but this is let's talk. Let's just get it over because he's going to say i just do it for me was with a friend and i sat there and i said i am doing simmons pod today and they're like how how soon before matt jones gets brought up and i said i'm putting the line five minutes. Oh i'm over six minutes. Forty seconds overhead Yeah let's talk about it. So here's i think it's the right to the patriot. Nfl wise. i think it's the right patriots. Yes i want. I really wanted you go looking at is set free draft. I wanted him to fall. Seventeen where washington was speaking prior to them grabbing fitz. Patrick i really liked him. a lot. So i think there's a really good move for the patriots. Nfl wise. I think it makes a lotta sense. It helps his dynasty value. Because he's gonna start from week one. Yes bowel check. And i coaching staff. Because an office of cam new is just a very different looking offense than match ups like the. They're completely two different kind style players. And so the packages you're inserting in for cam or different than what we do with math. And so you can just sorta go i. You know we're we're gonna run the brady off. It's basically right there there. There are somewhat similar players. At least you know. No one's brady but you know what i mean In terms of style of play is more pure dropback passer In terms of his fantasy value this year redraft though to your point. It doesn't run and some important to get a quarterback that does ron. So i think he's a low end to be to like he's in that you know twenty to twenty five range among quarterbacks for me ask can i throw this at you playoffs. Yeah somehow they they have a bye week fourteen. But now the the the playoff situation we seventeen is now the the finals at colts. We fifteen jim for the bills week. Sixteen little shootout. He maybe little by thirty eight to thirty five and then week seventeen home for the jaguars and pretty good schedule. I i gotta have on your team. Maybe sure i could certainly see mattress being picked up. And if he's had success being used against the jaguars you know. I think part of the problem though with shootout idea and then the patriots defense be really good this year. Yeah you're the patriots defense. We really good this year so it's hard meaningless so's the bills often so could easily get there but the bills are gonna be super super pass. Savvy i dunno. I thought what did i thought by making maximum starter. Here's my immediate ratchets. First off of it certainly improves the passing game. As a whole i have. Johnny smith is a top twelve fantasy tied in. I prefer him to hunter. Henry and of hunter and retail and hundred henry were to miss some time remember hundred. He's never played all sixteen games in his. Nfl career is miss time every single year. He's been in the nfl. I'm aware of that. When they gave him a lot of money. That part time. It was kind of a bummer. He's good with his though. But but you know the covered was bare so they needed to get somebody so the weeks in which hunter henry is out at. That happens you jonathan. It's going to be a top five top six fantasy tight end like he's super talented And so i like him a lot. I think if i have to pick a new england wide receiver. I'll take jacoby myers. I haven't right justin side. My top that had wide receivers. The problem jacoby myers like i think he's a nice player last year. He had it in every game in which he had. I think it was six games in the six games in which he had seven or more targets average. Seventeen point two fantasy points per game. If you are really to numbers we notice he had was the most sag shoulders after passes that either were down to him or sailed over said so we led the league in that to a lot of this a lot of lot of lot of size sad this jobs off after third down and so yeah led the league in a lot of those categories but the The challenge there is that week seven on mars at a thirty percent. target sure introduced a massive volume. Just because they didn't have anyone else. But i think adding you know. Guys like aga- kendrick born and a tight ends and i just see him getting back. China target share. So yes the next player In certainly value having a match jones under center but not something that i'm targeting is more of a late round guy i think. Bigger here is damian harris. Oh my guy. I already have him for. Eighty two one win the rushing title. Let a terrible flyer right not a terrible slide off so consider this last year the patriots number. One in the nfl in rush. I'm sorry they remember one of the. Nfl renzo rush percentage number two in the nfl in rush percentage. Now that can do. The quarterback had noticed roach and so that skews all that all.

New England Patriots Cut Cam Newton; Mac Jones to Start
"Speaking with our breaking news at foxborough. The patriots are releasing cam newton. And we'll move forward with as their quarterback pro football focus posted this week that the alabama rookie has the best preseason rookie passing rate since two thousand thirteen and now look to do with him. Couldn't do last year. Get new england back to the playoffs. Oh shannon what will be the patriots record with mac as a start of the season trying to look as you mentioned. I've tried to schedule and looking at it I say this is gonna make the playoffs. And so i believe it's gonna take ten wins for them to make the playoffs. So i'm gonna go ten ten and seven at the bare minimum possibly lebanon states. But i'll be conservative. I'll say ten and seven I think mayfield play well. I know they're not going to rely olmec as much as maybe some of the other quarterbacks but they're going to run the football i believe they're going to be a top five running team and everything they do is going to be predded gonna be set up the running game so they're gonna be heavy play action. They went to the to tidy. As they went and got a hindrance free agency got john newsouth upgraded the wide receiver position. I think decide nelson born. Yeah so they got some weapons. I man i still like jacoby. Myers i like here tomorrow. Watching the better he gets. I really liked jacoby. Myers in so with that being said skipped. I'm gonna say they go tunas seven and they make the playoffs.

Hang on, hang on, hang on, I got it. Let me finish my take walks, find some siren. So when they cut off the middle of the field for Jacoby Myers, they had to go outside the numbers to something and nothing was there. And all season long, teams are going to sit all over those tight ends and Myers between the numbers, crowd that area, get that in that box. And they're going to force cam or Mac to throw the ball outside. And the Patriots are going to have to rely upon Nelson Aguilar, Kendrick Bourne, Nikhil Harry, somebody else, right? To win on the outside and win a one on one matchup. And last night, we saw that on third down, that that's exactly what happened. Do you have your breaking new siren here or not? I thought I did. "Quick game passing underneath the defense to the backs to gunner a chef ski a few times, caught a couple passes underneath the defense. So the full repertoire today. The three level repertoire of accuracy decision making, decisiveness, all those types of things from Mac. What was the most impressive detailed aspect of the game today from Mac? Yeah, you know, well first, I think the command I keep going back to this, I've gone back to it since the beginning, the command that he has when he's under center. It's a night and day from where he was on day one. You know, his voice is different when he calls the cadence out with all the office yesterday. So that, you know, big picture that growth continues to impress me. Just today, you know, it was the short stuff, and he had some nice deep passes. The throw to Jacoby Myers in the back corner of the end zone at the end of practice was probably his best throw of the day, but you make one or two of those throws a game. And you can't okay, Patrick Mahomes aside, you can't necessarily win sustainably on those throws, right? You need to be a very special team. This isn't the big 12. You're not doing that sustainably. It was, you know, just the timing and the accuracy of what he did underneath. You talked about the three levels, but the way he operated underneath, I thought Kendrick Bourne said something interesting today. Somebody asked him about his level of trust with Mac Jones and how they trust each other. And he said, you see it. I run a ton of in cuts. That's trust. And it is. Not necessarily in this practice setting, but macros has to know he's going to make the catch because if that ball's tipped on an in cut over the middle short, it's probably intercepted and born as to trust him that he's not leading him into a defender or throwing a hospital ball. And that trust is there. And that's not, you know, people think the short stuff's easy. It's not. Not in traffic. And the short stuff is what makes the Patriots offense go. You're not going to have those opportunities to throw the ball 35 yards into the corner to Jacoby Myers if you can't hit what's underneath to set it up. And that's what, I mean, he's done it, but today was the best example..

"And he talked about this when we've spoken to him and he said, hey, you know, last couple of years I was so focused on being as Bryant like being this big body box out and type of guy, right? But I lost a lot of my speed. I lost a lot of my agility, I was in light on my feet. You know Nicole has a lot more potential. I see what you're saying about the who has more value to this roster right with Richard. Wilkerson's contributions on special teams. But let's talk a little bit about Wilkerson because he is another one of those players where he's had these flashes and training camp, stimulating the Keel. And you wonder if it's real or if it's this training camp stuff, right? And I that's why I brought Maurice Harris is when you kind of look at that situation. It was the first as many Camp of Marie's terrorists. This is the first couple weeks of training camp with in Wilkerson. But again, is a guy that has zero NFL production. He has one NFL game under his belt and his first year with the Patriots, a 2020, undrafted rookie very unproven player. So how much is this practice and a player that's having a couple of good practices during training camp and how much of this is they've actually found something in a few Wilkerson because it can go one or two ways, right? It can be awesome car or it could be Jacoby Myers, right? And you sort of had to figure out which one it is. Well, I think it's somewhere in between, I'm not telling you that way. When I say, I think Christian Wilkerson has been good. I'm not telling you that he's going to be there. Leading receiver in two or three years. Wait, I think Jacoby Jacoby Myers could be the Patriots. Leading receiver this year. I don't know that he'd be my first pick off. I wouldn't be totally shocked if it happened, either, right. I don't know if you disagree with that or not, but I think there's a chance. I don't know that that's your catches. The engine cover tires. Could leave the team this year, in terms of receptions, right? I don't know the Christian Wilkerson ever gets there, but.

"That bus was driven exclusively by brooks folks running back the money truck up won't but here's the thing that was like the best most eloquent question we've ever received about jacoby myers certainly about dacoven. Myers i i get to hear those all the time and no one else gets too so i just thought i it sounded. It sounded like it was almost a bit at the end. Like he was doing a bit like he got the whole question he was eloquent and then was like oh shoot. Hey congratulations you made the show. Sure did jacoby myers jason. The new england patriots clearly prioritize their offense and free agency. Jonas smith hunter henry tight ends. They were added for big money. Nelson galore was added kendrick born they have tried to retool this offense but jacoby myers was heavily heavily targeted last year. You mean in games. He played a twenty two point. Seven percent target share he. The caller was not wrong that we have seen the slot role. Be very important to the bill. Belichick offense know whether or not. That's a tom brady thing or a bill. Belichick thing. that thing jury's still out on that where are you on. Jacoby myers so i completely believe that jacoby myers is one of the top two options. There i see you know. I think they're going to run a lot of twelve personnel. Obviously they paid money to have two tight ends out there. And you're going to see a lot of too wide receiver sets and i believe it's nelson aguilar and jacoby myers. So that's what you want. You want one of those to stay on the field. A lot have a lot of opportunity once he took the job i just. A reminder jacoby myers did nothing for the first six weeks or so where wasn't on the field and was injured but after that from week. Seven on jacoby myers was averaging over seven targets game right and he didn't do enough because the the quarterback sucks right did last year so my belief is that If i'm going to take a shot in fact we just did our mock draft. And i took my. I think it was my last round pick. I chose nelson aguilar You can't get it back. no. I don't think cam can get back I think that Mac could macking it back. Mac will throw for more yards and touchdowns than cam did last year. That's that's certain if he if he were play for a full season Cam was valuable weapon offensively but that came through the legs through the rushing. I'm curious if like do you see a world. Where maybe mac is the starter and then they get to the goal line and they just print man and then. Oh i That's a that's a thought exercise. I don't think so but he was so it honestly down there. That's not a bad idea. Assuming that cam newton is like you can keep his morale up with that type of situation so to to finish the jacoby myers. Thought i do think it's between myers and adler four. Who is the the main wide receiver. There i'm going to go with the experience and the athleticism of And the money of nelson laura but the experience of the system and knowing You know the trust of Current quarterback cam newton. You can take your shot. Jacoby myers e. The nice thing is either one you want to take a shot on their your last pick. I think he's worth a shot at the end. Instagram from buff alligator. I if i were. Don't mess with our to wrestle. An alligator i would definitely not want the buffalo. Yeah skinny scrawny alligator right. Th i prefer toothless one. That's the only alligator. I would ever wrestle is a toothless one and i would also not wrestle that allocate. How many sit down meals should one man get out of a rotisserie chicken okay. So now we're not sharing this one. No one man. How many meals should Okay sit down you get a meal you should at least one. You should get at least at least one. Yes okay. i think that was a given. But i believe you glad you cleared it up. I believe you could go to too. But that's the cap you can't get over to know i'm a grown man. You're sitting down. You have the full rotisserie chicken. Are you going one drum one chicken breast or you're splitting it right in half. You know what. I mean if you wanna make this two meals which is probably healthier better wiser That you're vulcan and trying to packer on the pounds Before i shred I'm in bulk season. So yeah you you wanna cut it down the middle. You don't wanna go like both drums and then your second meal you know. Get a drumstick. You wanna make sure you get the same meal both times. Split it right down the middle This one's off the website. Katie in san diego would you trade the one. Oh three in a rookie. Draft for daring waller. Oh yeah so. You're trading you a trade kyle. Pit straight up for daring wallet. Because that's probably who it is. Okay so najji and j j marchese probably. You're one of the most common but at one. Oh three you could see you know the. I guess any one of those four players of of najji jomar chase travis. Ctn kyle pits. You would trade. Potentially one of those players straight up for darren waller and they and katie. Ads Her current tight end is no offense okay. So it's it's certainly an interesting debate. I think you reaction was very surprising. Yeah you andy. would certainly rather have kyle earn waller. Am i correct. That is correct. So the way that i look at it dare waller's twenty eight which Sounds older when you're talking about running backs wide receivers. It's not at tight end tight fair. He's about to be twenty nine he's You know you look at kelsey right now. What's chelsea thirty two something like that. All it okay. So you see a lot of About to turn thirty two. Okay so you see a lot of great tight ends that play longer into their color. Your well how. How old is travis. Kelsey the greatest fantasy tight end of. That's my point is that he is peaking in his thirty s. It's not like a my that he started peaking in his mid twenties. Sure he'll go. With greg olsen or delaney walk shared cook or the others saying tight ends can have a lot of fantasy success later in the career. I don't look at their and waller like he's got one year left the way that i might look at a twenty eight twenty nine year old running back that he's got a year left But he's a known commodity. We know he's great. We know he's going to be good for fantasy we know he's gonna dominate. Do you think how pets is bust. Proof. it's impossible for him to go. The way of eric hebron who was a top ten pick and was snow. That's certainly not so anybody can bust. I guess maybe this is more team dependent right like if you are a competing championship level team. And he. no offense is not going to really inspire you right now trading to get there and waller and shoring up your already great roster to go get a championship. I think is worth it. If you are in a rebuild or your. Maybe hoping to make the playoffs this year. You might not then. You're looking more build for the future. Two years down the road okay. Let encompasses better. Let's change it. It's not kyle pits. it's jomar chase. He fell to number three. You have no fan. Are you trading the upside of jamarcus again. Not not okay. let's say again. I don't think that your march marchesi can't bust. But all of the all of the boxes are checked. For jomar chase. Yeah i wouldn't trade tomorrow. Tesa wouldn't trade. Now i think there's a situation where i would trade Pits and i would definitely trade anyone after that. Right i mean is is if you had the fourth pick as a question of whether or not you would create who would be your fourth after those three probably devante. Et energy devante. But it's tough man. This is the top of this draft class when you devante travis t. and then you have devante. Smith mean. I don't think i would do it. I don't think i would trade that especially with no fan. No fan has breakout potential. This year as well from the website matt says. Should i keep darnell anderson aka daryl henderson the rams running back see now. I'm getting mixed up now. Which one is it. Daryl unders i keep daryl henderson and forfeit a sixth round pick or j. dobbins for a fifth. This is a ppa our league p p r..

"Would he be a good fit. With a better quarterback in work with derek carr because henry rugs i mean allegedly was getting under people open was threatening the defense etc etc was not producing though. But this is why we have you beyond the box score. What did you think of henry rugs. Rookie year. yeah henry rugs lined up all over the place. Like you said was apparently doing some good stuff. Decoy wise. Who knows how much of that is really true. I mean you can watch like you. Watch these other raiders. Receivers like i think nelson aguilar's getting self open. You know. I'm sure there's a little pop gun passes to the dan waller that defenses accounting for heavy rugs all this stuff but yeah i think that in an ideal world henry rugs like from a reception perception standpoint profiles pretty similarly to like a poor man's brandin cooks but as you mentioned. I don't know that this is the quarterback offense to do that with. I definitely would love to see can rugs best route is the deep post which i think is brandon cooks best route again pretty similar players. Those two guys from like pure talent perspective like i don't know that i ever see henry rugs being a future number one receiver I like john brown along in this offense. You know if he can stay healthy i would. I would bet then who knows. News against alabama. If both of these guys play seventeen games i would bet that brown had rugs okay that would also break the age model but okay here we are. Yes that is. That is an age model problem for sure. But i think like i said i think henry rugs could be a good like poor. Man's brandin cooks players. No real shot on henry rugs. I'm just i've long long long. Been a big john. Brown guy would love to see him. Give one last run here all right. Last guy we're to talk about here is one of my personal favorites because in the twenty nine thousand nine preseason jacoby myers was going absolutely ham. Jacoby myers was. I mean to say he was like the mvp of the twenty nine hundred understatement he absolutely dominated and then i was thrilled to him. Get a chance in the regular season and played really well. Jacoby myers did in the regular season. That said this patriots offense. I think is gonna be boring again. Kind of like how i think the saints are going to play kind of boring again without michael thomas. And so i'm not too much myers. And his eighty come up a lot lately but you know. He was very affordable for a while. There like around fourteen fifteen. Kobe myers you definitely printing there for a while. I think that you're hiring. Jacoby myers as a player shot up the team. Preseason what do you think about jacoby yes. Chattanooga team preseason. I really liked to kobe. Myers as a player would surprise me. Zero percentage most productive receiver in new england. This year. for what that's worth right. Because i i could not care less about the contracts that they gave nelson galore and kendrick born like this team had money to burn and they absolutely need warm bodies in the receiver room and like nelson. Aguilar is not great but he was a really good vertical research. I think jon gruden kept testament to jon gruden unlocked. You know nelson agla as more vertical player than what the eagles state is a little pot gun slot. Guy got the best out of him. I think that'd be a great role for him to play a new england but he's like a fine starting nfl receiver. I think jacoby myers is the more unknown guy here. His profile is going to be up on reception. Perception dot com. Little little teaser. They are hopefully by the middle of next week. If not early next week. I think people are going to be excited. I think he's good is a really good like player. It's just you know. How much is this offense going to be worth for fantasy. When they did did invest into tight ends. And i believe that says a lot about their intent with those two guys with the receiver room though they could be still perfectly high on jacoby myers and go spend that money on those other players. I it doesn't really bother me too much. I love drafting in where he was going like. A you know a month or so ago. That was just like yeah again auto. Select there. Because i do. I'm very very high on the player. Sure love it team will see who emerges to be on my coveted. I'm this is what these guys live for. Who will be on atom levitan. First team all preseason this year. We'll see how it is started with hall of fame game on thursday very excited for that art matt. You said law appreciate you being here. Tell people where they can find you on the social media machines. Yeah you can find me on twitter at matt harm and underscore. Bu ib if.

"The draft is complete With mr element being the browns who shop and crowd worse. We'll get to the eighteenth round and a little bit but one other player as long as we're talking about flyer wide receivers here in the seventeenth round. And by the way there was a bunch of them picked jacoby myers in new england. You think he's going to be the number one receiver there this year because it seems like The buzz Over the last. I don't know month and a half. You don't really hear a whole lot. About new england. Receivers except for jacoby myers and he could be the number one guy there you subscribing to that theory absolutely not. I think he's a limited ballplayer. Think we've seen the best play out of and Nelson aguilar will get a lot of targets. We'll see if nelson can catch them doesn't necessarily holland is what makes all the tough ones and doesn't make the easy ones but with the tide in centric offense what they're going to do with james white jacoby myers is is just a a relative You you used to refer to tidy and that was a green bay and moved onto philadelphia's a catch it and fall down player. I kinda think that's how myers is as wide. Receiver is not a player to get excited about. I don't support you in this for man. Hey i'll tell you this. Tory hope turned a hall of fame career out of catching it and falling down which kept him and kept him on the field. So it can work tori holtz in the hall of fame right or am i making that up. I know i yeah. I think that's maybe not so sure. Well okay in any of probably. Probably i'm sure he has. Yeah maybe gave. The isaac bruce Induction speech i have no idea Okay so the acs brown. Let's get to this year. Darrell johnson to ryan lifts quarter. I'll patterson to evans silva to complete his draft. Cj zoema to jeff tear abbassi. It's his third tight end. Marquez eldest gatling debilitate muzio. Dwayne eschede to Read and connor then denzel men's the jets receiver. That's kinda fallen out of favor. I guess based on the latest reports. They're our vendor. Goes with the jets stack and i know. He's adjusts jets fan. He gets back wilson and denzel mims as his final two selections tastes them hill goes through might and guzzi. Lack and joe goes a tyler. Conklin the tight end From where is he with jack minnesota. that's probably what. Yeah minnesota's kind of conklin. Yes thank you sammy. Watkins is Mike resulting schultz. The third presidents elected by shane. Helen and then a pair of receivers ended daria slayton to norian. And the i'm brown to mike show and adam kroger's talk a little bit of the jets backfield here pharaoh high johnson's There's been a couple of positive reports about positive reports but just saying that he's been getting some run or he did get some run with the number ones there. is is that. Is that backfield a mess or is it. Michael carter there. I you know i. I'm gonna stop myself right. Now you're gonna say. Tevin coleman is the guy own right..

"Right. let's start here. The patriots wide receiver kill. Harry is requested at trade from the team. Well that makes sense because he came in with hype use a first round. Nfl draft pick drafted to be great and has since done nothing. They don't the they being the patriots. Don't care that they spent a i on him if he's not as good as their undrafted rookie wide receiver. The same year jacoby myers. Then you're gonna put the best player on the field so they're trying to capitalize and find another team who wants to invest because they see that the patriots are pretty much out on the keel. Harry being a great wide receiver. They being the agents. Yes yeah i mean. This is a move brought on by nicole. Harry's agent this is a move as a result of two years combined some eighty targets. Which at least from nicole harris perspective. He didn't get enough to show what he can do. But you know something didn't something didn't work there and you look at bill and his first round flops. I mean i guess you you can call sony michelle a success enough if he helped lead you to a title but long-term i mean sony could get cut this year. We don't know what do you do. If you're a dynasty manager of an akil. Harry do you believe that this is good. Like let's say he's already on your roster. Is this good news. Foreign akil. harry's outlook no future new england. So yes but i don't think he's going to be traded because i don't think that they're going. I don't know if he finds a partner. Yeah the i mean. What would you be trading for him. I mean south surrounding pass round pick and so the issue there becomes okay. Let's say well. He's not gonna make it for the patriots another team trading for him while that sounds good on paper until you realize they're trading nothing for him there's no investment so he's still gotta go prove it wherever he goes. I think it's worth bringing up. The jacoby myers is not talked about a lot. This off season hasn't been you have the acquisition of nelson aguilar. Who was you're talking about. The deep passes last year. He was one of the most targeted and effective in terms of catch percentage deep targets in the nfl season. They added into the roster. They signed kendrick born everything. So far with jacoby myers in the off. Season has been positive when you add the to pass catching options in john smith and hunter henry. There's no future for for nikki. Also moving on is the best situation without question but it's not a great situation if you drafted him number. One in your dynasty drafts. Yeah and i. I wouldn't get cute and try to trade for him trying to hold on gets better now. The odds are very much against them. Having broken out through his first two seasons clyde ribs layer. Patrick mahomes they have both suggested.

"I just think with them, right they look at value our how do they value their not you're not getting him for what? Is it? Six games? Right? Yeah suspension the first six games of his contract and he served he survived those games at the end one. It's one game. Okay, so then yeah, like maybe he's an option I again with I just I I've said this before he's going to be probably top three paid received. Free agency, right? If not top five. I you know, if you're going to spend twenty five million dollars at that position give me a $15 guy and a ten million dollar guy instead of just 125 million dollar guy. That's just thought, you know, the Patriots need more than one receiver more than one established receiver. Can they go to the draft sure, but what are they really have four nfl-caliber wide receivers on this roster? I you know what Julian Edelman status is going to be during the year. N'keal. Harry obviously is still a project to Mere bird is a third fourth receiver. Maybe he's not a guy you count on a Jacoby Myers is the closest thing they have and she's even you know, he he shouldn't be your first receiver. He should be your third or fourth. So right there you need at least two. If not three guys, if you spend all that money on will Fuller all that's going to have to happen is we'll Fuller's going to get double-covered and yeah, Jacoby Myers has a slightly better year than he did last year, but you're kind of just right back where you were they need to have Optimum. They need guys who will stress the defense from different points blowing twenty million dollars on will Fuller. Well, he's a good player doesn't solve that it needs to be multiple players. They need to build an offense not just a bulb talent and what it's going to cost them to bring in will Fuller I think handcuffs them in acquiring some of that second level talent that they ultimately need to get back into contention. Yeah, I agree with all that. I think the biggest thing was off though just to play Devil's Advocate is that the Patriots have been the slowest offense in the NFL for two years, right? They've been I would say even arguably three years if you want to go back to the 2018 season, even though I'm with a Superbowl not offense had issues certainly during the regular season that time that's a really big issues and will Fuller when he's healthy and that's that's a big if if he's healthy he comes in here and he brings a level of explosiveness that they have not had since I guess Brandin Cooks, right? They they just haven't had somebody that can truly explode and create big plays for the offense..
