"Dan bongino show Here he is Dan bongino So just breaking just breaking as we got on the air scary Poppins looks like she may be out Scary Poppins out Scary Who the hell scary pop You know what's scary Nina Jacobs The ministry of truth the head of the ministry of truth Looks like the disinformation You know he's got so comical How did Democrats who were once you know listen underestimating your political enemies is a really really bad idea Really bad idea You know I'll just give you a quick example right The Democrats underestimating Donald Trump in 2016 Fascists literally a Nazi all of a sudden they're like oh my gosh we lost what happened You don't want to pay back the favor to them You can dislike diet their ideas but you better darn well respect their tactics right I always said that The Democrats are usually pretty savvy about advancing a story not the story We'll get to more of that a little bit later They are They're just good at messaging I mean they've got a bunch of idiots You still believe that Vladimir Putin was given Donald Trump back rubs before an election I mean it's so ridiculous Only a moron would believe it But the left through savvy enough to get a bunch of dunces to fall for that But whoever in the Democrat party thought the ministry of truth disinformation boy led by scary Poppins was a good idea Man just give up on the political drill This is not for you This is not for you Did you really believe that conservatives libertarians even establishment swampy Republicans were like way way wait wait wait This isn't Cuba This is in North Korea We don't have ministries of truth here I'd said to you repeatedly the government has a process for ascertaining truth You know what it is It's our third branch of government The court system Right folks am I wrong Challenged me if I'm wrong Call in if you're a liberal challenge me if I'm wrong the government has a process for truth It is not a ministry It is not a disinformation board It's not scary Poppins AKA Nina Jacobs Notice how I say scary papa take it Not Nina Jacobs Also known as scary Poppins The order is important That's not that's not the process If the government says we think it's true that Jim Verde robbed a bank producer Jim here then the government has to go to court and they have to provide evidence To get a warrant it has to be probable cause that that crime was committed to get a search warrant that there's evidence in that house You have to describe the house to a T and you have to lay out the evidence that not only do you have to do that you have to swear to it Under penalty of law that's just to get a warrant To put someone in jail and take their freedom you have to prove the case unanimously be on a reasonable doubt to a jury We have a process for truth It's called the court system Just like we have a process for immigration You know what it's called Jim Immigration That's what the process is called But see the Biden administration and the Democrats they don't want to go through the process for ascertaining what the truth is Why Because they tried that in the Trump case Like hey listen we're going to lie about Trump and say collude with the Russians Don't worry We're just going to throw it to the court system right They tried that And what happened They all had a lie on the road thinking they would never get caught and they did so they learned from that lesson They learned from that lesson right quick and they said okay we want to lob these accusations in the future People spying with the Russians colluding with the Russians Republicans are racist Republicans should be investigated pro lifers are a terrorist group We want to do this in the future But we don't want to have to go through the legal process for ascertaining truth the court system because it backfired on us last time because we had a swear to our lives So what do we do when someone sat around a room and said I've got a genius idea the gavel drops the court has ruled I have an idea We are going to do a truth ministry led by a wannabe show tuned singer known as scary Poppins And everybody in the room was sitting around like yeah That's a good idea By crusty the clown like Bozo a bunch of bozos As I said I never underestimate the left ever I don't make that mistake They make that mistake with us I never underestimate the law But in this case and in the replacement theory hoax they're pushing which is the less conspiracy theory that a whole bunch of white people are going to be playing that's exclusively on the left They're really screwing up bad folks They're leaving footprints everywhere They're not vetting people anymore The typically organized left is so desperate right now to shut you down because they see an electoral tsunami coming in 2022 Bet they're getting sloppy It's like being at a crime scene and everything just falls apart You're the bad guy you're robbing.

Even Good Morning America Acknowledges Baby Formula Shortage
"Play the cut 7 This is Good Morning America of all places a noted for left you know radical group over there Having to acknowledge its stores around the country are now running out of baby formula Here check this out This morning a terrifying prospect for parents around the country stores running out of baby formula unable to restock He has a very specific brand new trauma gen that he has to have due to allergy and intolerance issues Shawna Bowman says she can't find any formula for her 11 month old son Jacob We have been having to look pretty heavily for it I would say for the last four or 5 months but this last month it's just become impossible to find This morning a terrifying prospect for parents around the country stores running out of baby formula unable to restock That's all right It seems like sorry about that No it's okay It just says the same thing over and over again Baby formula The folks why is that a problem Well for an obvious reasons I don't have young children anymore My daughters are 18 And ten But if you have a baby and you're not breastfeeding right now formulas you're only option What are you going to do folks You're going to give the kid a gargantuan from Jimmy John's You're going to give him a triple from Wendy's The baby's GI tract doesn't have the capability to handle that kind of stuff You don't have any other options How do you screw up baby formula The answer is you put Joe Biden in The White House
Next Installment of the Fact-Checker Clown Show
"Never Remember Jacob ray is Jakob Rees is a alleged fact checker He works for politics and nonsense outlets like that He wrote a fact check a while ago Let me read this to you This one's hilarious He wrote this fact check About Maria bartiromo where Maria bartiromo said that you know we were importing half of something half of our oil from Russia and in the fact check admitted that Maria bartiromo was right And then gauge that the fact checked that it was mostly false Jacob Rees we covered it in pretty intimate detail So Jacob ray is strikes again Again he claims to be a fact checker He emailed Christina pushaw Christina push up is a media rep for governor Ron DeSantis in Florida She is terrific She is a bulldog right So Jacob Reyes who tried to and failed to fact check Maria bartiromo and inadvertently proved what she was saying was accurate He sends an email to Christina Pusha from Ron DeSantis is always saying hello I'm writing a fact check on a quick deadline here regarding the following governor desantis claim The claim is this The student debt that is out there almost 60% of it is graduate school debt Jakob says if you'd like to provide supporting material for the claim I would need to hear back by 9 p.m. Meanwhile I'll continue my own research and interviews best Jacob brass Jakob maybe you should have started at your own pointer institute where you worked where the pointer institute wrote an article about exactly this So Christina responds back Jacob you wrote employer pointer recently published research about this topic finding that 56% of outstanding student debt is owed by households that hold graduate degrees I think 56% qualifies as almost 60 Banks Christina pushaw Can it get any worse
'Fiery but Mostly Peaceful' Author Julio Rosas on Frontline Journalism
"We have a really good guess with us right now. Fiery but mostly peaceful is the name of the book by Julio rosas and he's doing a wonderful job and again it's called fiery but mostly peaceful one of the best frontline journalists in the country a legitimate journalist unlike the people at The New York Times The Washington Post. Julio, welcome to the Charlie Kirk show. Charlie, thanks for having me. So Julio, tell us about your book. Tell us about kind of being on the front lines and being an actual journalist. And we'll go from there. Yeah, so I mean, I started covering the riots in 2020 when everything popped off in late May. And it initially my thought was, okay, I'm just going to cover Minneapolis and then that'll be it. But then I went to Seattle to cover chaz that whole little experiment that happened in Seattle. I went to Atlanta, Washington D.C. where I'm based out of and it just kept happening. And then it shifted from, oh, so this is going to stop to. What is it going to stop? And it reaches a point to where not only was I obviously seeing the devastation and destruction that BLM and Nancy varieties were bringing to American cities. But then at the other half of it was, well, the media was really downplaying or trying to excuse or trying to justify what was happening because of who was committing the violent acts and it was kind of well the ends justified the means or you're not really you're focusing on the wrong things by focusing on business owners who have their places destroyed. You know, this is what really matters. And for me, it's really, I take really big offense to that because like I said, I was seeing this firsthand and the city after city. And more importantly, people were innocent people who had nothing to do with, for example, a George Floyd or Jacob Blake in Kenosha. They were suffering. These were just ordinary Americans. A lot of them were already struggling with the effects of the COVID-19 lockdowns. And now this was being thrown on top of it, and then the people in power, both within the media class and political class saying, well, it doesn't really
Secretary Mayorkas: Nina Jankowicz Is 'Absolutely' Politically Neutral
"So I want to get into a really critical story that blew up over the past week. You guys all know about it. The ministry of truth, now DHS secretary mayorkas, that's the Department of Homeland Security, asserts that the disinformation board chaired by Nina jankovic, who's a straight out of central casting for the progressive left, is going to be completely and absolutely neutral. From the story, Homeland Security secretary Alejandro mayorkas said there is no question. He could have more effectively communicated the purpose of his newly created disinformation board. So he's giving a Mayo culpa there after credits framed it as a crackdown on free speech. Mayorkas explained Sunday that the board specifically addresses disinformation that presents a security threat to the homeland. No interesting couch couching of language again, this is the game they play. Look at the language. So it presents a security threat to the homeland. So then he says disinformation from Russia from China from the cartels, he said. So he also claims that Nina Jacobs will absolutely be neutral and is renowned expert in the field of disinformation.
Nina Jankowicz' False Claims About Trump Supporters at the Polls
"Nina Jacobs was a regular figure on the other cable channels channels Because she fits right in she fits right in With the radical cuck hosts in the radical coupe guests Being get back to your marijuana Here she is October 5 2020 Go I think there's a general concern about Trump supporters potentially showing up armed to the polls and these sorts of voter suppression voter intimidation That's a legal everywhere Of course there are rules for party observers partisan observers to be in the polling station but in 40 states you need special accreditation to do that And I think there's just again a widespread fear that groups of irregular supporters are going to show up at the polls to intimidate people and quote unquote watch and that's very disturbing And yet that didn't happen Did it In fact I remember that did happen with the Black Panther Party In Philadelphia but that never happened Remember this will be the director of the board of disinformation governance

Glenn Jacobs: From the WWE Squared Circle to the Mayor's Office
"All this government, let's turn a little bit, but as you came, you've had two of the best jobs in world. We've talked a lot about this mayor of north county. Let's turn back to WWE. Everybody believe, you know, it's sort of funny down here in the south Hollywood spike, wrestling's real. I mean, that's the way we all grew up. You know, there's one with that. And I've had the blessing of knowing some of the folks. But they also this opinion that it's all show and you know, a lot of it is, you know, when you're traveling, the injuries, those things, those are real things, aren't they? Oh yeah, absolutely. In fact, as I mentioned earlier, I was speaking with a group of young people this morning and one of them came up to me. It was really nicely asking, in your opinion, is wrestling fake. And I was like, okay. I was like, here's the thing. Our movies think. And he's like, well, no, they're entertainment. I was like, exactly. It's entertainment. I mean, is it a real sports contest in that before the contest? No one knows who's gonna win or lose and all that sort of stuff. No. I mean, it's entertainment, but as far as the physicality, that's real, as far as the entertainment value, that's real. So if you're gonna say wrestling's fake, we also have to say movies are fake, books are fake. The TV's fake, all these form of entertainment, you know, dancing is fake. It's not. It's a form of entertainment. And I think that's why I don't like the term fake because it just has all these negative connotations. But the number one is, you know, they're not out there really doing anything. Well, it is inherently dangerous. I mean, I've seen some terrible injuries. From my own career, the rigors of travel, you know, the pressure of trying to put on a good show and all that sort of stuff. All that stuff is, is absolutely real. And I think that's how you have to look at it. You know, as appreciate, it's an art.
Mayor Glenn Jacobs on the Political Landscape of Knox County, TN
"It's interesting to hear your positive story of growth. Your positive story of people and business is wanting to kind of and I'm going to compare it to another college town. And this is the sort of the emphasis I want to make. And I know you have the city Knoxville and those kind of things, but Athens Clark is sort of a combined government. But over the past four years and after this Clark county, it is basically turned socialist. And I'm not being a Republican exaggerate here. They actually identify as socialist. And they're wanting free busing, free housing. I mean, and you have the university of Georgia, which is the largest employer, everything in that county that is sitting there. And again, trying to say, look, we're trying to just make this here. What do we want? How has Knox county Knoxville area been different in a very similar kind of situation, smaller county with a large younger progressive base if you would. How have y'all avoided that or have you? Well, when you're looking at Knox county in the city of Knoxville, we're two separate political entities. And folks think that the counties over the city, and we're not. The cities, its own thing. Now there are some things that we do in the city, but that's very limited in scope. And the university is in the city of Knoxville. And yeah, it's exactly right. I mean, I love UT and I think UT ads tremendous value to our community. But there are some political differences. Especially. Within some of the faculty and within certain departments within the university. Now, what the university does for economic development is tremendous though. They have a great supply chain management program, which is a very beneficial here in Knox county, where 60% of the nation's population lives within a day's drive of Knox county. So logistics shipping trucking is a distribution centers are a big deal for us because we just naturally attract them. And then also when we look at their school of engineering, the ochres national laboratory, which is the country's foremost research institution is half an hour away. So there's a lot of synergy between the university and that organization as well. But politically, yeah, there can be there can be some issues. And like a lot of places what you see is we're like a donut and we're red on the outside and blue on the inside with the city. But the county is a lot bigger than the city. So we're about the county's 65% Republican. And the majority of the Democrats are actually in the

Just try and leave instantly when i get there so like someone might wanna talk to you. I've maybe am. I know that they won't wanna talk to so. I have to allow for the possibility that someone may want to talk to me really had to work at a leaving party. Almost instantaneous but i you know. I'm i'm really grateful that i was able to do these voice jobs from home. Yeah your voice. Acting is fun. Well we we were. Were on something together for a minute. I got fired for you. Got fires which i thought. I didn't understand that but at any i'd you know i don't want to insult the person that got the job after but i didn't but whatever i you know a lot of decisions are made and i don't understand your voice. Acting voice acting is fun. That's so fun. One of the things that i can't like the two things i do that i can't believe are cartoon voices and game show host. I've gotten paid to do both of those things and never let just seems like a like a like a racket like i'm tricking. Someone you know. I love doing voices for animated shows so much and someone asked me recently. Why and i was like. I don't know why. I just love it fun And so yeah the you know. I'm very lucky with like invincible. And these other jobs. I hope i keep getting to do more and more of it. 'cause i i really love it. Yeah well what do you i mean what. What's your dream. You know arc from here going on well you know. I directed a short film which was scripted. but i think i'd like to directive film a scripted film And acting wise. I think it's been fun to do. A bunch of different genres in the last couple of years things that seemed to surprise people like being in these fear street horror movies. You know people have really associated me with comedy And it wasn't what. I started out doing so any time. I get to do something that feels like different unexpected as an actor. I think i'm enjoying that And but then again. I love comedy so it's like who would want to not do comedy career opportunity so i think it's kinda worked out well for me that i i've gotten to do so. Many different types of things between writing directing things acting in different sorts of things so if i can sustain that it feels like i've always sort of being challenged in some way that's good and what about outside of work i mean. Is there anything you know house by the beach. Learn a hot air balloon. Something like that. You know i actually. We did an episode of my podcasts. With this woman named margaret worth. I'm she and her twin sister. This place called the institute for figuring which is based here in l. a. And they're the project they're most known for is the hyperbolic crocheted coral reef and so there. There's these hyperbolic shapes in geometry that this woman whose name i now can't remember realize that you could best demonstrate visualized by crocheting them Even better than like computer imagery and so it started this whole thing of crocheting. Hyperbolic geometric shapes. And then someone realized. Oh you know these. Also kind of resemble coral reef creatures and so margaret and her twin sister created this project where they were crocheting coral reefs and then people around the world also started crocheting..

Creatives that Baltimore-based n baltimore natives as well bona raised and started at park has on a lot of people. Don't know i started a podcast in two thousand nineteen but the idea was different Benin was self explanatory. As far as it was it was initially initially was supposed to be a podcast with me and my friends and we were going to drink and just talk about whatever we wanted to talk about and You know shutout bravo shout in. I mean name the way i was branding it in all of that so i i just a lot of personal things was happening anyway so i took a break. Here comes two thousand twenty and this is actually before the pandemic I was talking about redoing rebranding podcasts and everything but i just didn't i didn't know where to record. You know what i mean. You know you you know the podcast and journalists will like you gotta space where you wanna record it and you know all those things. Intangible was that you know a makes a defend pockets. Yeah it could be one of those things where you know said it'd before we got started doing it. As long as i have over the years you just start accruing and you figure out what works for you so i have like. I am in my opinion. Have maybe three four different setups. I have low tier mobile. I have the home studio. I have a more of a combination between the two. I had had a birthday last week. My girl got beat has really don't mixer and and and it's like the mixer that you can take phone calls and everything and his mobile and i'm like oh this is this is crazy. This is a whole new world and then having that that background not to go away from the point. You're getting that background in it. You can flex but you're right when cove it hit the space dollars recording this particular podcast and it was a comedy club and things closed so because you know you wanna meet people you to be face to face and you get a different reaction when you face to face with somebody you know certain things translate a little different zoom is has gotten better over the time but at the very beginning it was as you probably paying for the premium to right. Because you've got a nice background. Oh i'll put that in a green screen. See a big. This is what i guess she do. Yeah no absolutely and but i was tweeting You know i wanted. "And this is a narrative written by this prominent abolitionist? Harriet Jacobs and that the truth is is probably much much bigger than even what is here. is really sobering to think so normally starwood end here. She is free but this is Harriet Jacobs and she he is not done. She is working in Alexandria in Washington. DC organizing food and shelter for refugees from MM slavery and from civil war. As more and more formerly enslaved people travel north as the civil war goes on and as more and more people are emancipated. Eh or self emancipated. They are flocking into Virginia into Washington. DC into all of these areas with nowhere to go no support network generally the clothes clothes on their backs and she is hugely instrumental in organizing housing food. Work for all of these people. Yes Harriet they also realizes very quickly that her experience of learning to read and write are unusual and that so many of these formerly enslaved people have had had no education at all and she starts teaching she starts a school her daughter. Louisa eventually joins her and they dedicate their lives to educating tasting formerly enslaved people eventually they raise enough funds to have a building and we have a photo of that school on our website. It's an amazing photo. They're teaching children during the day. They're running classes for adults night. Wow they're dedicating so much time and energy to this project but but Harry Jacobs is also working on an activism front in so many other areas she is raising funds and insisting on proper medical care for black people raising using huge amounts of money to assist with massive devastating smallpox outbreaks. Where all of these formerly people have almost no resources to combat? These things and many doctors refused to treat them and she is making sure that every bit of care she can possibly find and provide is available to these people. Wow she is fighting and for the rights of black soldiers who fought in the civil war doing all of this with no one realizing who she is. They are not pudding. Harriet Jacobs the activists together with the author of incident in the life of a slave girl. Wow the book ends with the lines that I quoted at the beginning of this episode. which for those who know nineteenth century literature is a perfect perfect brilliant in version of a very classic nineteenth century trope for finishing up a novel the most famous example Being Charlie Brown tapes? Jane Eyre. They're the last line of Jane. Eyre being reader. I married him here. She is acknowledging what her readers are going to expect at the end of a story and how it differs. My story ends with freedom. Not with marriage She's again invoking vocal VAT aspirational ideal withheld from enslaved women. She's also destabilizing that ideal in the moment she's using it. It's such a fascinating way to end her story. I think it's especially poignant that as she wrote these words the civil the war has not happened. The emancipation proclamation does not exist so many people are still suffering what she suffered and she hasn't been given a chance to accomplish any of the incredible work she is going to do after the civil war. This is how Harriet Jacobs chose to end that. What part of her story? It has been painful to me in many ways to recall the dreary years past in bondage I would gladly leaf. Forget them if I could yet. The retrospection is not altogether without solace for with those gloomy recollections. Come tender memories of my good old old grandmother like light fleecy clouds floating over a dark couple.

"But once her children in our at least safe if not free. Harriet Jacobs finally make her way north. After seven year by dressing as a sailor they learn and being transported to a ship and finally does escape to where she gets a job as a nursemaid a nanny in the home of man named Daniel Parker Willis Willis is especially interesting because he's a very prominent imminent literary figure literary editor especially in the nineteenth century. He is not as well known today. Although he was very famous in the nineteenth century the person that does have a lasting reputation as his sister who we now know today as Fanny fern. That was her pen. Name Sarah Era Peyton Willis. Who wrote a novel called Roots Hall as well is was very very popular mistake? Homeless Jacobs becomes very close. With both of Nathaniel Parker Willis wives but is very fearful that he will discover that she he is a self emancipated slave because she is afraid he will turn her in as part of the fugitive slave. Back at some point. Nathanael Parker Willis's second wife Cornelia Grinnell Willis learns that nor comes daughter and her husband has been are in town trying to find Jacobs and Cornelia gives Jacobs the baby that Jacobs's there to help care for and says take the baby go out of town so that if they come to the house they won't be able to find you and that's how much he cares about and cares for Jacobs that she she gets.

"The above reward with with all reasonable charges will be given for apprehending her or securing her in prison or jail. Within new states. All persons are hereby forewarned or warned against harboring or entertaining her or being in any way instrumental in her escape under the most rigorous penalties of the law James Nor come into North Carolina June thirtieth even these descriptions of her hair her skin of her clothing All of these are describing her appearance but also reinforcing the idea of her appearance as more white. If we I WANNA say it. That way is also in some way a negative for her that that she is aspiring out of her station. That these these things which of course she has no control over rs line of her own deviancy or her own bad character. So it's really important to address the fact that when you look at Harry Jacobs we have a beautiful portrait of her a photograph. Oh she does not outlook the way that we expect. An enslaved woman took She's described as a light Mulatto. She is biracial and there are a lot of white people in her family tree and yet because of the legislation which means that children turn follow the condition of their mother. It doesn't matter what your racial makeup actually is. What matters is if your mother wasn't slaked eventually nor does sell her children to their father Samuel Sawyer vise his children and he doesn't free his children? ooh He allows them to live with their grandmother in the house where Harriet Jacobs is hiding in the attic. Children do not know. She's there what she can hear their voices and listen to them downstairs way. Hey that is so bonkers the dangerous so high that absolutely no one no that she is here. He allows them to live with their grandmother for a while but he does not free them and eventually he sends Louisa his daughter daughter to work as a slave. What for family for now really? The complexity of these relationships is hard for us us to understand very. Wow.

"So Harry Jacobs makes a calculated decision ways all of her options very carefully Um and decides to enter into a consensual relationship with a white lawyer named Samuel Sawyer. WHOA JACOBS attempts to make calculation for how she can and preserve herself from nor come in his advances and what she decides to do is essentially to offer herself instead to a wealthy white man as mistress one of the reasons that she does? This is that. She hopes that he will be able to purchase any children that they might have to purchase his own offspring to free them from slavery. Under Dr Knock. Aw because of course any children that she gives birth to no matter who the father is are enslaved. Now are the property of Doctor Arkham. She's also so hoping that if she becomes pregnant by another man that Dr nor will desist from pursuing her she calculates out all all of these options and decides that a relationship with a wealthy white man who eventually becomes a congressman is her best option for giving her children any chance of escape taken then also trying to navigate explaining this decision making process to her readers. There's and to do so well. Maintaining her position as someone who is the nineteenth century version of a proper woman. Having to explain why she had sex. Outside of marriage had children. She was unmarried. All of these different things that would basically totally destroy the idea of eighteenth century the ideal woman. She does so by explaining that she knew what was right and that slavery made it impossible to uphold those ideals that slavery as an environment essentially makes that impossible so she actually very directly says reader misses. This is something that is difficult for you to imagine. I'm sure but this is what slavery is the system of slavery. Three has made it impossible for her to do right. Yeah she cannot do what is right. And this is the best possible alternative alternative that she can see. But Oh you're unhappy. Women whose purity has been sheltered from childhood who have been free to choose the object of your affection whose homes are protected by law. Do not the judge the poor desolate slave girl too severely if slavery had been abolished I also could have married the man of my choice. I could have had a home shielded by the laws ause and I should have been stared the painful task of confessing what I am now about to relate but all my prospects had been bladed by slavery they wanted to keep myself pure and under the most adverse circumstances. I tried hard to preserve myself respect but I was struggling alone in the powerful grasp grasp of the demon slavery and I became reckless in my despair And I think this is the most important part of what makes Jacob Story so valuable now is that it gives us a way to understand and think about what agency looks like for women in this situation Now this is really common in our narrative of what slavery looks like but this book is really the first to address what being an enslaved woman was the sexual abuses that are amplified conventionally white abolitionist sympathizing with this anti-slavery movement are reading men's slave narratives but no woman has been talking about this Asmara because in Victorian Society. You don't talk about any of that no matter what right. And so the fact that she'd walks this incredibly fine line of making it clear what she's talking about without horrifying in offending ending her reader so they put the book down and she has to create a narrative of herself as the good woman who has been forced into bad situations because of the system now in the narrative. Dr James Noricum is not successful in in his sexual pursuit of ups that she successfully fends him off for years and years and years and years and managed manages to maintain her purity in the rhetoric of the time until she makes this conscious decision to engage in this relationship with saint in incidents. She writes that that doctor North Com stops pursuing her. After after this this is one of those moments where it's difficult to know how accurate the narrative is being till life. It's possible that that's the case. It's also possible that this is a moment of sort of self protection for Jacobs. It's is still quite possible that Dr nor com would either are continue to pursue or take vengeance on Jacobs. We have no way of knowing if that's of course and would be surprising if it were true. It does seem surprising it would be impossible for her to talk about it if it is not because you know this is still a scenario in which you can't even mention that someone is pregnant. Yeah let alone. How a person so this fine line that she has is to walk revealing enough to make it clear what she's trying to bring you need to know what is hum you need to understand the horrors of what enslavement looks like for winning while zealously maintaining her own position as a righteous woman because that's also critically important for what she's doing? She is in writing this at a time where women are officially pedestal is and and pretended to make sure that womanhood God is not defiled. None of that applies swim sleep doom and she is making a case for it. If you really believe this if if you believe these Christian versions you believe in chastity marriage. All of those things are impossible under the system that you have built and they're not just impossible will for me a black woman. She sang very impossible for you. They are impossible for anyone in a situation in which these kinds of things are are being permitted. And it's it's a ridiculous balancing act that she's doing she's like juggling fire fire on a high wire above alligators. She pulls it off somehow so successful. This book was so successful full. What is trying to do? There's a line in her book that says even after she is finally free. The dream of of my life is not yet realised. I do not sit with my children in a home of my own. I still long for a heart stone of my own however humble I wish it it for my children's sake far more than for my own. I mean that is activating. All of those cats of what women are what women and do what there's this war and and really driving home his point of if you really do value this side even why am I not and so. It works in the moment at making people confront the cognitive dissonance that they're having around women are sacred and special and must be protected. Did Black Women Dot then. She forces them to think these things through without ever violating Victorian morality codes of what you can see the tricky but I think it also really really pushes us to confront that question of what our choices in in a situation where your choices are severely limited so there is one way of thinking about things where the power balance is so uneven in slavery that you can argue that all sexual encounters that enslaved women have and particularly that enslaved women have with white men are essentially rape because there is no way of equally out pal balance one of the ways of also then thinking about that. Is that that argument strips. Any idea of choice agency from enslaved women which is then difficult to try to sort of historically square and the choice that she makes his a choice that she makes and as she recognizes acknowledges in incidents. It's not a a choice that she would make under any other circumstances but it is a choice in these circumstances. This is the choice that I made. I love that reclaiming of her own ability and right to make decisions about her life to do what she believes his best. Even in extremely limited D- circumstances.

"Will in order to come to us. Jacobs Dr James Com witnessed a codicil oversell when this woman died that stated that Harriet Jacobs specifically was willed to Dr James Daughter. This codicil was not signed but the word of two white men. Oh serious that this was taken again as truthful and Harriet. Jacobs was transferred to names Arkham daughter who is a young girl so effectively. James James Markham. Wow she probably didn't even know that she probably had no idea. It's not knowledge. That necessarily would have been helpful to her at the time but looking back at it now. It's something that's really painful to recognize. This situation is entirely different. James Nor workum begins pursuing Harry Jacob sexually from the moment. She enters his house. She's a child and she is trying to fend off. Sexual advances from a man who has absolute control of her and her life and her body. Oh Dr nor come begins to threaten to do things like send her to a cabinet. He's going to build on the plantations where he can keep her to himself. This becomes for her of really defining students versus what her narrative narrative.
