"Wilson, run. No, it was more than that. It was more than that. It was a significant run. It was at least half a decade, Chris. I mean, Malcolm butler kind of put an end to it in a way, right? I mean, it led up to put an end to their Super Bowl winning, but I don't know. I think seahawk fans will be like, you have to include somebody from the year in which they want a Super Bowl, right? But would you put Russ on that list? Obviously, like the short list. He's on there. But I think ask that question of a seahawk fan since the kingdome days what they would say and they might say large and pro football reference has Ross number one ahead of Steve origin. All right seahawk fans 8 four four two O four rich number to dial if you're watching later on our YouTube stream, the comment section is yours TJ Jefferson will absolutely see it. Why wouldn't they? Okay. Let's see what the people have to say. Good stuff. Leonard fournette playoff Lenny Lombardi Lenny Marty Lenny. What is your ass doing in New England Lenny? That's the tweet apparently text that Tom Brady sent Leonard fournette when he still went on his free agency tour up in New England and now he's back with Brady in Tampa. The always a great chapter with Leonard fournette. That's coming up. What's more likely coming up an hour number three as well? 8 four four two O four rich number to dial here on the rich eisen show that is now two hours in the books one more high quality entertaining news and information hour coming up next. I'm throwing this poll up right now. What are you throwing up? Greatest player in Seahawks history. Russ, Steve largent Bobby Wagner, Walter Jones. Okay. I think that about covers it, right? What's the top four rated on pro football reference? What is there? They do is something called AV. So then what do they have for the rams? Okay, you looked that up. By the way, rams is Merlin Olsen. Jack youngblood. Aaron Donald and Jackie slater. I forgot Jackie slipped. I named the other guys. Respected Jackie slater, completely forgotten. I don't think you can go wrong naming deacon Jones on that list though. I don't think you can go wrong. I don't think so. He's 8th on that list behind our window pace, Tom Mack, and Isaac Bruce. Merlin Olsen, I'll tell this story again if I already have it. I think I have. You guys have probably heard it, right? My Merlin Olsen story. So yeah, when we first started NFL network, the first thing we did was go to the pro football Hall of Fame. Before we launched and I recorded a bunch of round table interviews, though there was no table and there's nothing round of just me sitting on a director's chair and then other director shares next to me inside the bus room. And we didn't air those interviews till the next year, which we needed to run instead of NFL total access because everybody did to NFL total access, boarded a flight to go to canton. So we needed the content to fill the whole of what normally would have been NFL total access that night. And so the interview I had was it was with me. It was supposed to be the hardest hitters in the history of the game. Me, Ronnie lott, and Lawrence Taylor. And Lawrence Taylor didn't show. And it was Ronnie lott and it was Merlin Olsen. And I asked those guys the hardest hit they ever delivered to anyone on the Phil Merlin Olson said, Jim Brown, I hit him so hard one time. He goes, he came to the coliseum and that's all we talked about all week is we are not going to let him beat us. We're going to put on the ground father Murphy did not say ass. And so Merlin Olsen said that he had a clear shot of Jim Brown, which is so rare. Jim Brown coming around the end, a clear shot at him, and he just walloped him. He hit him so hard that he said that he had visions of seeing Jim's eyes rolling in the back of his head when he got up. He got up and he saw Jim Brown run 70 more yards for the touchdown. "You see the bucks. Just sorta ran away with this one i. It was sort of a game out of the first quarter. And then tom brady was. They took over. They have their almost full complement of weapons. But even without rob gronkowski. This is This is just a handful to deal with your even for a dolphin seem that has been pretty good. Defensively of late and Just just not in this one but Yeah miami has suddenly just a boy a whole lot of issues as they get ready to head over to london and play the jaguars. When the dolphins briefly had a first quarter lead. i was ready. For gary's i was right on jacoby set. This is the key. To the future of the franchise. It was all out for the game had ended at that point all it. After fifteen minutes jacoby reset was still. He's not the future of the franchise but he's still. I don't understand how anyone could watch his tape into his tape. And and say that berset has not been markedly in upgrade at this point even if you want to argue based on his draft status that a has the higher ceiling. Because i think if you're making that argument the only thing you're basing it on is the fact that two oh was drafted very high but That's the other here no there. We'll see what they do next week. Percent was playing on one like this week. You have a hamstring injury and He got it out and he played really well but If your defense is gonna give up forty five points that's the way it goes and that is my Session to yell about two percent. Truly sort of jack youngblood moment for jacoby cepa sweet. Gary definitely agreed with the the heroics were on par with that or maybe like the michael jordan of him. Yeah but I don't know i agree with you somewhat. I mean you know there is Some dropped touchdown passes some weird kinda like doing at the beginning of this game. That i feel like i think jalen waddell had a touchdown pass. That was dropped in You know they had to settle for a field goal. But i know i what i find weird about the semen generals that i thought that at least defensively they would be able to contend with the buccaneers given. Brian is expertise given the the capital. They've thrown at the defense in particular your bad offensive team. You're bad offense team. There's nothing you can do about that but i think especially after the patriots hung with them. So close the week before You could absorb the best of that game plan. And i was surprised that i think is so lopsided as lopsided is it was.

"Thursday on the jamie l cowboys push-ups. Let's talk about the week. One that we just saw on sunday and Something i witnessed last night with my own. Two eyes and brockman witness with his own two eyes and mike del tufo witness through his own two eyes and adam callscreener. Who is mike. Del tufo plus one for the season opener. s-o-f-i stadium in two thousand twenty one last night on sunday night football dr bears fan. Who might be calling into his own. Show up too many phone lines that you're supposed to be answering out of at eight. Four four zero four rich number to dial it was the first major maneuver of the twenty twenty one calendar year in the national footballing on a roster and that was the rams all of a sudden acquiring matthew stafford from detroit being the ones to take matthew stafford out of detroit after matthew stafford asked for his exit visas and was granted them by the detroit. Lions front office and ownership and it was the rams who did their usual less need aggressive. Maneuvering we'll figure out the cap we got it. We'll figure out what we're gonna do. We got it. We'll figure out the nose and the ramifications we got it. We'll figure it out but we see a player we won't we're gonna go get him k. Just like they did with ramsey jalen ramsey. They're like warren. we'll get him. He's available from jacksonville. We'll take them. I will send a whole bunch of pics. We'll figure it out later on down the line. We what we got third fourth fifth round. Pick still great. We'll turn that strana gold. We got it. So they're the ones who sent off to detroit with first round picks saying we'll take matthew stafford after a dozen years and the conversation all offseason lung certainly here. certainly from. This chair was big. Move game changing potentially franchise altering move and the thing. That really got me as the check. Mark on that of believing in it was when i heard cow shannon was also grinding tape on that that could have been the first move for the forty niners to figure out what they're gonna do with jimmy g. or post jimmy g. was to go ahead and get rid of jimmy g. potentially right on spot random spot and go get matthew stafford and his first game in los angeles three hundred twenty one yards twenty twenty six throwing three touchdowns no picks distributing all over the place and then going up top. Going up top to cooper cup on top to vent jefferson going up top throwing it in all different manners. Run game. checkmark daryl henderson. Seventy rush yards. Touchdown also caught a ball. It was just spectacular. And i will say this for the rest of the league coming through. There is a new jewel in the sports landscape and it is called stadium in inglewood california just up the road from lax. Just across the street from nfl network was not there in the nineteen seventies. When don rickles frank sinatra palling around with jack youngblood in the coliseum is not there. I was not there in vince. Ferragamo was making it to the super bowl and then showing up on hollywood squares. I wasn't there. I would prefer to say this. Even those old schoolers who were there and the coliseum in the seven and i will definitely say this because i wasn't there in anaheim either when the anaheim rams were there before they moved to saint louis but in terms of the los angeles rams. I've been there in the la colosseum when they came back. And i was there last night. I will proffer to say this. And i'll take phone calls at a four four two four rich number dollar those who might have been in the l a coliseum in the seventies sixties and the four horsemen were patrolling. I think last night was the greatest homefield advantage. The los angeles rams if ever ever enjoyed that building is so deafening and so loud that even the small when you're looking at the entire building section of bears fans that were in one end zone. They were extremely loud when the bears did something positive which didn't happen too much last night. We'll get to that in a second but it did on occasion. That building is loud and that building for super bowl is going to be off the charts. And the rams have gotten to major new additions. One is a franchise quarterback appears to be the perfect vessel for their manic brilliant. Thirty five year old head coach. Thirty-five not necessarily even in sean mcvay okay appears to be the perfect vessel for what mcvay wants to do offense. No yeah but the other that they've acquired is at building and the fans there and whose house rams house stuff and that oculus. That's above the field. Which is this oval. Which is the scoreboard. That gets people fired up. And you're looking at it. Beware the rest of the nfl. Where you've been in the the you finish the rams last couple years and then now it's a different ball of lax and look out for the rams and the rest of the nfc west which also won every single game all three other ones on the road including the cardinals will get to not only in a moment but later on in the show and cliff kingsbury. The cardinals had coached joins us after their beatdown of the sentece. Titans in tennessee down beaten. 'cause in the same way that stafford lived up to the hype. Julio jones going to tennessee where you know we'll see eventually but yesterday was just i think. Jailer jones just had another sack of ryan. Tannehill like just now in something. We'll talk about over the three hours of the show. But i do want to talk to you about the bears. Because just fields came in last night and scored a touchdown first touchdown of the season for the chicago bears. As a matter of fact put in the end zone Actually he put it in the end zone after montgomery did. Who's terrific. this kid. david. Montgomery is a spectacular running back and he could be a difference maker at the position. He showed it last night when he ripped off a forty yarder. When the building was gone. Totally crazy. I was talking about this home. Field in so-fi stadium. Montgomery rip one off and he was running it at will against aaron donald and the rest of that defensive front last night at will and i can only imagine if justin fields has that ball in his hands. And you don't know if it's him or montgomery that has it. That would be a particular weapon at the bears disposal. That could come in much demand. Certainly when they've got an offensive line that can't pass protect. And i know that's the reason why i think matt nagy is not putting justin fields out there just yet but as i told him matt nagy himself that if when he came on the show after drafting justin feels. I told him he's not going to have the time to sit him all season long. I told him he's plan was. We're gonna do what i saw. Andy redo with patrick mahomes which is sitting all season long.

"Supreme court justice. Sandra day o'connor again. I'm quoting loosen up sandy baby. You're tight then. Promptly fell asleep on the floor on a personal note. I love john riggins he's smart. He's funny. He dances to his own steps. We'll i used to host a charity golf tournament in washington and riggins drove the beer card for us. Yeah this might be a terrible use of time machine. If i gain access to one tony but i want to go to that golf tournament and i want to go to dinner because apparently i was looking this up earlier. He didn't just fall asleep like on the floor. He fell asleep for forty five minutes and then snored through speech. I believe by president george bush. So a legend legend rigaud yes. Oh ringo's tremendous happy anniversary. Joel youngblood on this date. Thirty nine years ago. The utility man and career to sixty five hitter became the only player in major league. History to play for and get two hits. I get hits for two different teams in two different cities on the same day playing center field for the mets youngblood drove in two runs in a day game at wrigley then in mid game. He found out he'd been traded to the expos. Were playing that night in philadelphia youngblood. Left's really go to o'hare doubled back because he forgot his glove at the ballpark but made the six zero five flight to philadelphia that night at the vet young got a single from montreal. Young played fourteen seasons for five different teams. He was an all star once but he never did anything this historic and by the way. The pitchers young blood dot those hits off future hall of famers ferguson. Jenkins and steve carlton manzo. That guy. joel youngblood absolutely on the medal. Stand of young bloods alongside jack youngblood. Who played. I believe with a broken leg in the super bowl and even more impressively in the pro bowl in one thousand nine hundred and also that dean youngblood guy from that movie with rob lowe that came out when i was one year old. I think those are also and also jesse colin young and the young bloods great rock and roll group happy trails to the world record in the four hundred meter hurdles again the other day. It was the men's record today. It's the women's sydney mclaughlin edge delillah muhammad. Both americans broke the world record just as karston war home and ride benjamin had done on the same track the day before mclaughlin ran fifty one point forty six seconds breaking her own world record of fifty one point nine muhammad ran fifty one point fifty eight. You're the only woman to ever go under fifty two seconds he's two have been rivals and have been trading record and wins for two years now and they will race again in the world championships. Next july fem. Kabul of the netherlands finished third in fifty two point zero three which would have set the world record just a few weeks ago. His mclaughlin first gold medal since twenty. One muhammed one golden rio. She's thirty one now. Pablo i suppose. You want to undercut these records as he did yesterday talking about their shoes and the fast track. I appreciate you undercutting.

A game deacon jones average. One sack twenty three times. The opposing quarterback dropped back to pass by comparison. Michael stray hands record season in two thousand one where he had twenty two and a half sacks he averaged one sack every twenty five times. Quarterbacks dropped back to pass so unofficially. Deacon jones six season run was better than the best officials single season sack record of another comparison. Tj watt led the nfl with fifteen sacks last year. One sack every thirty eight times. A quarterback dropped back to pass now these are unofficial stats. But at least they have tabulated. Some of these got him. Up to date with deacon jones. Jack youngblood there are a lot of great balan page. Lot of great pass rushers and i think that they were kind of Held to a different standard or we forgot about them. And you had you had the opportunity to be able to go back and tabulate these sack totals and they should be up to date because you can't say nineteen eighty two is when officially started. "Let's round it out at 20 so It's hard to believe even though it could happen. It's hard to believe that's going to happen. 20 quarterbacks changing teams, but I really, really enjoyed his conversation. He said. He counted the various teams and surprised himself because he came up with 20. So that would be the extreme. But certainly you've got teams all around the NFL, not to mention the fans who are poised now to see that Play out this well, great job helping us set up a bunch of these interviews and I agree with you. We had a variety of voices, some really interesting perspectives from guys who played the game Hall of Famer and Jack Youngblood, who has not forgotten about guys that he played with and guys that he played against in his work with the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund and Mike Ditka. We also talked to Lawrence Guy, the Patriots and he's the only Patriot I've talked to this season, and he was willing to dive into the Belichick versus Brady question. He was also willing to take you inside the Patriots locker room and what it's been like in a season in which they lost. They got hammered by San Francisco when he said in the wake of that they had a team meeting and decided they were not going to throw in the towel. They were gonna use this. Difficult season to be prepared and be ready for next year. Now he's a free agent, but he would like to stay in New England. You mentioned I Taylor the way that he described Tom Brady gunning for 1/7 Super Bowl ring, which he calls a week and so Brady would be filling up a full week full of rings, whereas Patrick Holmes to be working on Monday. That was really cool, loved Ashley Caldwell, who we just had on on this edition of the show. Olympian who right now is in Park City, Utah, competing in the first qualifier. She's an aerial skier. She's been to three Olympic Games already, and she's starting the qualification process for 22 in Beijing, Man she is awesome and to have her as well as Amy Trask on national women and girls in Sports Day. Or, You know it was this week. That was pretty cool and Roger Goodell mentioned to the diversity in the NFL, and he agrees that there needs to be more when it comes to head coaches. But he points around the league at the coordinators, and you've got coordinators of all colors. You also have female coaches, full time female coaches. And so he wanted people to remember. Yes, the head coaching ranks still need more diversity. But that's not the only place that you should count the diversity and look at work. Change is being made. By the way. If you're wondering about returning to normal, he doesn't have an answer for that. Don't know when normal is gonna occur again, and I don't know if normal ever will again. I don't know if anybody here can do that. I know this. We have learned to operate in a very difficult environment. We have found solutions and we'll do it again. Like the optimism and the fact that he and a Morris Smith, two of the most powerful men in sports, are collaborating and working together. But on that note, we may have uncertainty about the future. But we know the Super Bowl is taking place on Sunday on time, the date it was originally scheduled. Jeffrey on Facebook, love listening to you in the A. M. Hope you have a great weekend. "Jack Youngblood is a Hall of Famer. A defensive end for the Rams spent his entire career with Los Angeles and we met him on radio row a year ago when he was sporting just a giant smile and his gold jacket and he was really enjoying connecting with people and sharing his stories. What is different this year? Obviously, and I wanted to start out by asking him that, because usually This is like a football convention. The football world gets together at the site of the Super Bowl. And so, Jack for Hall of Famers like yourself. You don't have the opportunity to walk around and spot each other in your gold jackets. How much have you missed the chance to be there on site in Tampa with fellow Hall of Famers and people that you played with? You know, it's it's almost It's almost like a fraternity party. And we get we get to catch up with players that we that we played against, and some of them that we that we had all our teams. And it was. It's always a time when it really is precious time for us. We enjoy it. We enjoy it and we had to tell stories. Some of them. It exaggerated a little bit, but that's all right way. All were suffering from some sort of Whatever. But it was for the Have with the years that we played the game and we always were always trying. Okay, now, what have you had cut on and whatever you have in place. You know, type of type of thing. It is. It is very special for us. When you have kind of navigate these last 11 months, I'm sure it's been challenging. I know I have a 98 year old grandmother, and it's been hard for her to kind of be isolated away from people. But what's this last year been like for you as you stay safe. Well. Have been up to I live. Three hours from from the farm. And I haven't been up there since January. And that's unheard of never. I've never been away from the farm that wall and, uh and my brother and his family who's up there, they're taking care of it so And I've got a I've got a two year old grand baby, and I just I'm gonna be his careful as possible and make sure that you know I don't I don't drag something back into the house and harm her. That's for sure. But what you know and then on the other side of the story Way go out in the yard and she out, runs me. E got a two year old. I can't catch and she laughs at me, huh? It certainly helps when you have little kids in your life that know nothing about what's happening in the world. And so you don't have to have a conversation about covert with your granddaughter. Exactly exactly. Jack. You played a lot of years in the NFL on and certainly didn't have to deal with anything quite like this. But how would you grade the league on the way that it's navigated this particular season? Well, I think that you know it's hard when you have a contact sport. Uh, so so you, you know that there's the possibility of, you know, giving that bars and infecting somebody else, especially Defensive lineman and an offensive lineman that they're they're in contact with player in front of them every snap, so they had to do some special stuff. And hopefully hopefully we we've got a handle on this thing at this point, and we'll and we'll be able to have a normal season back in in in 21 are and forward and in 21. Now you once played in a game with a broken leg, So I kind of feel funny asking you this question. But if you had been given the option of playing during the pandemic or opting out, would you have played? Yes, ma'am. Absolutely. I mean that Z my responsibility. I'm the captain of this football team. You know, I'm gonna play and help us win that That was what it was all about. Jack Youngblood is a Hall of Famer, a longtime Rams defensive end who yes, in fact, told us the story last year on radio row of how he played with a broken leg and a postseason game, which I don't think anyone else has ever said that before it's after hours here on CBS Sports radio, I know that gridiron greats in the assistance fund is really important to you, Jack. How come why is it so important? It's important me to help help Mike Ditka and his foundation of trying to trying to help and offset some of them. Some of the problems that retired players have You know, there's there's there's a vast gap here between the current players and that the economy Of the current players and what we went through back in the Talkin sixties and seventies. So Mike Mike's got a big heart. There's no question in my mind, and I'm just trying to be part of his team. And in help and do what I can to help You know, relieve some of these players because when you play the game, you have injuries. Later on, it's gonna It's gonna cause financial problems. Because we, you know, way. Just don't Way, didn't we didn't really realize and understand becomes the consequences of what we do. The NFL. As you point out, it's a completely different era. The NFL is trying to pick up the ball a little bit more and help former players now, But But what's happened with so many of the players from your era? And before that they fallen through the cracks, Jack We have There's a lot of men have fallen through and there's the attitude we had as players. And we wanted we wanted to be the best we possibly could be. At the same time. We have to understand that we You know, we Way we're challenging our body. And constantly challenging our brain. Azzawi made contact with the with the other players. So it is one of those things where Yes, it is hard to explain. And a lot of people don't understand why, you know. Well, if you think that now. Why didn't you think that back there? Hmm?.

I can feel the blood boiling a little more now. I'm really tired. Don't you want to feel sorry for me? I'm good. This always happens during Super Bowl week, But I sometimes wonder in the conversations that we recorded in the afternoon If I said something stupid, So as which is highly likely as I listened back to our conversations, I think, Okay, All right, Okay. I didn't embarrass myself too much, but we We've had some really cool guest this week, and we still have Several more that I'm excited to share with you coming up in 15 minutes here on the show, Nick Hardwick, who has been a guest before. So long time Chargers center made it to the Pro Bowl in his career. But the reason we always enjoy talking to him is he has very pointed comments about quarterbacks, including one Philip Rivers, who is not only his best buddy, but is the guy that he blocked for for years and years. He also played with Drew Brees of both Purdue Anthony ago before Drew moved on to New Orleans. Where did you hear what Nick has to say about Philip Rivers and his decision to retire? So that's coming up in just over 15 minutes here on after hours with Amy Lawrence, CBS Sports Radio, We're live from the Rocket mortgage studios when you need certainty in the home buying process with alone that fits your life. Rocky two can. In addition Jack Youngblood, who I met on radio row in Miami has the Hall of Fame gold jacket, though I don't believe he was wearing it for our conversation. Today, he's working on behalf of the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund with Rudolph Foods, a k a pork rinds. You want to know why I work with the poor grinds people? Well, this conversation with Jack and Mark single 10 of Rudolph Foods will completely explain that that's about an hour from now. Really special guest outside the box, and I love love love when I had the chance to talk to Olympians. Actually, Caldwell is currently in Utah participating in the World Cup for her event, which is aerial skiing. This woman is a bad ass. She's attempting to qualify for her fourth consecutive Olympics to represent the red, white and blue and her stories are awesome. But also I I can't even fathom doing what she does. She started out as a Jim Nist converted that into skiing out a chance to ask her about not just the training process, but the qualifying and what it means to be an Olympian, so actually called well, coming up next hour as well. "And the nature of the game. It's like a tough man sport. You're gonna be grinding and banging into each other. And if it's snowing and slippery conditions like I still look like, have these These romanticized visions in my head when I was young, watching like the old school tapes like this when I was young, they were old school videos of guys with like blood and dirt coming off their hands. And then, just like that's football to me, like being pretty and nice and have a clean uniform. That was that I don't want. I don't want to see that No I, You know, I remember when I used to play Little league if I wasn't dirty, I would And I know this is ridiculous. And I did, but, you know, usually playing shortstop at that age and and and and like I said, sometimes you dive unnecessarily. Just gotta get dirty. You know people of the game. You want to look good, but I remember they refuse it like when you throw the ball around the infield in between innings like I remember like if nobody was looking, I would like Have a little dirt my hand and I get e just I loved being dirty and I loved it. I mean, you were you were the kid that was headfirst slide on the No. Throw every shot I take. I slipped in the street that I conquered. You better believe I was sliding on dirt, So I'm totally with you. Even Jack Youngblood. You know you had these visions that guy's missing teeth. The big offensive lineman with all the tape in the big white padded things like that. I'm with you now now. I've also sat enough World Series games in the Bronx and some other places, but specifically the Bronx where you know it's been 33 degrees out, and it's freezing. And the first pitches 807 you there until midnight. It's sub 30, and it's damn cold. But I've also been the games in San Diego with his palm trees far more enjoyable. How And then also, maybe go to the playoffs. But seeing that Jared Goff is okay. Is exactly how I and a whole lot of people feel about him. His ass is okay. Stand. It's cold enough from Ontario Stand. You are CBS Sports radio. What do you think about God? All right, your brother. I'm terrific. What's up? I think, dear God is a bust. My God, man. He throws all the different colored jersey but his own team. He's absolutely pathetic. I remember when we had Jimmy Jack Youngblood, Doc in the days that somebody called the L. A Rams. I call them the lands now. Even now, I mean, the only a couple of years removed from the school, not with him. He never circuits anywhere. Break defense. Half decent old friends, But now now we do we need a quarterback brother. That's the only reason why we're not going to the show again. It's just too bad because, even years ago we always got beat by the Steelers of the Dallas Cowboys. And no, No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We We need a quarterback, brother. Okay, Well, thank you Stand for calling up from one. So you're counting all the best to you as well. Thank you so much Stand Yeah, I think he needs Supreme supporting cast around him. And we know it's a team sport. It's a team game. I think it's convenient at times for us to say that or not recognize that point. But he's not the type of guy that's going to take you over the top by himself. He's not in that upper tier of quarterbacks. Wouldn't necessarily put him in that second tier of Hey, let's prove it. As Andre from Mississippi, said Jared Goff, is Okay? And okay, ain't good enough. I'm sorry. And speaking of good enough, I got to remind you we didn't get a chance to talk about it last night. Last week when James Harden was traded from the Rockets to the Nets. We had a lot of people who were saying, Oh, it's not gonna work. Oh, they're gonna suck. James Harden's not gonna fit. He can't play the way he played in Houston in Brooklyn. I'm just like Of course he's not. But that scene is just gonna put up points. I don't worry about what they do offensively. And so last night was the first game together. Carry Irving, James Harden, Kevin Durant. Brooklyn, lost 1, 47, 1 35 and two overtimes. Kyrie 37 points. Kevin Durant, 38 Harden, 21. The point here isn't so much about the offense. They'll figure that part out. It's that their defense and I think they're going to go out there and get another player to help on the defensive side of the ball. But Brooklyn They've given up more points than just about anybody in the NBA. Right now. They're given up more shots than anybody about 96 again their fifth most in points. Excuse me, 116. They're just treating every single game like a shoot out. I mean, and Steve Nash, who, by the way, wasn't you know defensively inclined when he played, not at all. This is what he had to say about his own team's defense. It's definitely early early doors as far as this new team, this new group learning to defend together and how we could be effective defensively. You know that Z got to be one of our Part of our game that we're gonna focus on the most going forward. Well, you don't say. James Harden, who can hold you down in the post just because he's pretty strong, not known as Ah, plus defender not by a long shot. This is what James Harden the maid's defense. Sound real easy. Listen up, we'll start off the game. Very, very, very good. The entire game. We just gotta find a way to get stops when we need to. Offensively, they're not, You know, statistic specifically, they're not a very good team, but they made some shots tonight. So would you gotta watch the film get better and, you know, chip away. About James Harden, the guy that makes defense sound so easy. The Brooklyn Nets. I still expect them unless they get hurt. I expect them to be in the Eastern Conference finals. I expect them to go to the finals. It's gonna have to be some roster tweaks at the same time. But they're certainly fun to watch. Is he trying to outgun everybody with three of the embassies best offensive players on one side of the ball? The Lakers knocked off the Milwaukee Bucks tonight won 13 of one on six Jazz beat the Pelicans, 1, 29, 1 18 and the New York Knicks, who play defense. Best defensive team in the league. Shut off the coach Thibodeaux, the Knicks beat the Warriors tonight. 1 19. So one ofour Ah basketball team that you won't see. At least for the next several games. That happens to be the Memphis Grizzlies. Why? Because the whole team is not playing the NBS postpone their games, they pretty much have strengthened. Their approach to cove. It And so you know, Valanciunas, I believe is the only guy in protocol. But the MBA is as taken such strict measures because of contact tracing that the Grizzlies. I believe it's going to be about four games that they will not be an action. Players are no longer allowed to go out to restaurants to eat. Is basically a whole town. Practice. And that's it. I'm not going to get get get too much out of there. The food is being catered s O the MBA. There's a solid reason why they didn't announce the entire schedule. And here you have it. We're going to figure out what that second half looks like As even it seems like the Wizards. I can't even keep track. Of who's playing who's not playing. It's just a wild time in the MBA, just like the NFL is thrilled that they're basically almost done with their season and by the time they come back later this year..

"A stern warning for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Pat Mahomes, the best player in the NFL these days and You know, an M V p a Super Bowl M v p last year, but he was knocked out of the game last week in the chief's went over Cleveland and right now he's questionable for the NFC championship game in Kansas City between the Chiefs and Bill's coming up on Sunday, So Brett Farve with a bit of a warning at 51, he's a mess. And you would hope that my homes and the chiefs would make the right decision and so down the road. He's not a mess like bread is so well. I mean, there's a zoo, You know so many people who are as you say, a mess. Remember the great Chicago Bears question, man. He sued the NFL. He's like drawing. He sued the NFL. He's in bad shape. So my home is there a protocol the race? I mean, they can't for the particle should be, uh, they can force him back. Can't they will never force him back. But I think Andy reading him a sit down, looked at one win away from their second consecutive super mean You can't that can't be. You can't be a factor. Well, Brett Farve talked about it, obviously, because there are players and coaches that probably go against The doctor's orders and figure out an excuse to play. And if it was a regular season, he would not be coming back to Sun. Probably not s O. Then they're making a mistake, because if something does happen I don't know. Maybe criminal charges. He continues to this day to reap the benefits of that Super Bowl win, And he's showing he showing the hand that fed him. He never worked an honest day's work in his life. He had women throwing themselves at him. Mahomes, get off your ass and get back on the field. Play the game and shut up. Right. Thank you. Anyway, I did make the point. They listen. Yes, I don't think that's the video that they have of us with Curtis and the rest of the line of Livin and Jon Katz Matina. We are in the video. Were there like I said, you're causing trouble for method. Now that's not like me. That's very, very characteristic. It is so I Mentioned the fact this lady Virginia called earlier 87 years old. She's going crazy. Facebook suspended her, and she's upset about Trump and a variety of things. And that reminded Bernie of a 96 year old listener who we had who was just the sweetest, most lovely lady and fiery and she was also very fiery and funny. Yes, and her name was be from Brooklyn and he told me I didn't know this. That she passed away which made me very sad. And as it turns out, we've got her daughter, Sandra, who's in Brooklyn Online one right now, Sandra, First of all, was sorry and Welcome to the show. Thank you so much. You hear me? Yes. Good morning, mother. Um actually told me to listen to you guys at this time instead of the other channel, which is good, too, But she was so right. And this since she said, Oh, no, I listen to sit in burning every morning. You learn so much more with them. I switched and I listen to every single day. And I can tell you he impact my mother had on my life. She was an amazing amazing woman. And I see with Mark Simone how he loved her and how his audience loves telling his staff longer. And you guys remember her so much, and I wanted to call you but I wasn't sure you knew her, like walks among knew her. But now I heard you this morning. I was rushing right things. I said, Oh, my God. I left cooling. Thank you guys for Making her feel so possible because she really, really enjoyed you both so much, and I'm very thin over there. It happened. So suddenly she was so careful about not catching that virus and she wouldn't let people in her house and she did all the things correctly. I think she went to visit a doctor and maybe in the waiting room. Maybe she called it their way. 100% chokers again. I think she was a very healthy lady at 96 0. Yeah, He was very, very healthy. So we 100% sure Sandra that that's what That's what cost her her life. That's what itwas because that she had double pneumonia, and it was from that. And and I was in the ambulance with her kind Her mom, You're gonna be okay. Don't worry. They're gonna get you better. "Eastern time who takes the next step on the road to the Super Bowl, find out this weekend with the other. See the AMC divisional round plays out only on CBS. E want. Jack Youngblood laughed. Yeah, so the Browns are a 10 point underdog in this game. So I think they can win. Look, it's a one in 100 shot. There's a shot. There's always a shot. There's always a shot because the Cleveland Browns last week proved something to themselves. Which is the most important thing and that is we can play and we can win in the playoffs and we can beat the really good teams. The NFL And I know that the Steelers haven't played well recently. I know that the Steelers have their own fair share of problems, but you get to the playoffs. You finally break through that glass ceiling, which you hadn't been in such a long time. And you jump out on top of the Steelers, 28 nothing. And then when things get close in the 3rd and 4th quarters, you then pull away again. You prove something to yourself? And they didn't have Kevin's too fancy on the sideline. So the idea that the Browns can't win this game. There's no way they could win this game. That's ludicrous. Any team in the playoffs is good enough to win a playoff game. We've seen crazier upsets of the past. I mean, nobody thought Theo seven Patriots could possibly be beaten by a tenant six Giants team just so happened on that day. He did. So it's crazy to think it could never happen. Do I think it's gonna happen? No, I don't because I don't think the chief of the type of team that is vulnerable to this type of upset. Not that the Chiefs can't be beaten. Okay, It's not that the Chiefs are invulnerable is not that they will absolutely win the Super Bowl. It's not that it's that this chief's team I don't believe is vulnerable to this type of upset. What I mean by that is When you are a 10 point favorite in the playoffs, you've got to feel really good about yourself and not take the opponent seriously to be victim of the upset, Okay? If you were a 10 point favorite, you've got to be overconfident. And the opponent you have to feel has no shot and that you are just a totally different level. And I don't believe that the Chiefs Or that type of overconfident team because I don't believe Andy Reid ever allows you to be that way. I think Andy Reid might go on the other side of things where he makes you feel like you're worse than you are. And it's sometimes that might make you tight. I think that might have a problem with the Philadelphia Eagles at times and maybe even as early chief stays. I don't think he ever let you think that you're a better than you are. So that's part of the recipe that you would get beat here now, the other thing that I said, you start losing and you get tight. And that was an Andy Reid staple. Unfortunately with the Eagles and maybe early on the chief's days, But I think with Patrick Mahomes that doesn't exist either. For the Chiefs, the Chiefs can lose. Because if you match up against the Chiefs well and you have a great quarterback as well and you have a really smart head coach, and you've got to really experience laden team. Look, the Chiefs can be beat by a really good team. I don't think they can be beat. In this scenario, because my homes will never let you get tight. He's just not a quarterback that suddenly goes what we're gonna do. Oh, I don't feel confident. Oh, we're not getting it done. You just like, Give you the ball back,.
