"It's 8 11 now, dozens of car windows have been shot out by someone with a BB gun in Arlington, and police are asking for your help this morning, finding the culprit. It's ridiculous, and it certainly stressful. A police officer broke it to this woman that her car window had been shot out between Tuesday night and Thursday morning 54 vehicles were damaged by someone apparently driving and shooting with a BB gun. I love today to go to an appointment. I saw around the corner. There was still glass. "Sterling right now. It's 48 in oxen hill, and we're at 43° here in friendship heights. At 6 40, the lynching of 14 year old Emmett Till in 1955 helped spark the civil rights movement. His mother's quest for justice is chronicled in the new film till which opens today. Going into this project, I got to learn in depth about not only the series of events in detail, but about these two human beings. This mother and son. 14 year old Jalen hall plays Emmett Till while Danielle dead weiler plays his mother. The lynching of my son has shown me that what happens to any of us anywhere in the world had better be the business of us all. The mother's decision to show the world her son's open casket outraged black Americans like the George Floyd video in 2020. "Europa last week's puzzler, I never. I know you didn't remember, so I made some notes I'll show you now. Okay. This fellow was driving his wife's car to work. Remember this one? He got stuck in stop and go traffic. He noticed that the engine temperature was. He saw the needle going higher and higher and higher. He called her up on the car phone. Is that it? Right. He said, hey, hunt. What's that trick that your father taught you for when the car is overheating and traffic? By the way, remember her father was, you don't remember. Yeah, crusty. She said, turn the heat on. He said, oh, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, of course I remember. So he turns the heat on, and besides the fact that he started to go Jamie inside the car and with the heat on and summer and all that. There was really no other change to report. I mean, the temperature still kept, you know, it came down a little bit, but it was still way up near hot and he realized that something more serious was going on. He needed help. So he called her back again. He said, ask your father, what else to do? Right, and she says, turn on the air conditioner. And he says, now I know that old crusty has flipped out, and she said, no, he hasn't. Just do it stupid. Just do it. So he does. He turns on the air conditioner, and the needle goes, no kidding. Back to normal. Now, he says, no, he knows it can't work because he knows that the air conditioner imposes a load on the engine. It's dissipating. Heat. I mean, all this is going on. Making the engine work hotter. And when you know that when you're working, how do you get hotter? I don't know that, but I've heard that that happens. So the first part of the question was, did turning on the air condition they have any effect on the engine temperature. And the answer to that part was, yes. Yes, because it was part of the puzzle. Right. And it did. And the question part B, this question was, why did it? Yeah. That was good. What was wrong with the car was that the electric cooling fan wasn't working. And it wasn't working because the coolant temp sensor was faulty perhaps. But when you turn on the air conditioner, it overrides that circuit and automatically that turns on another cooling fan just for the ignition, all that same one, and it brings the temperature down of course. Okay, so that's why turning the air conditioner on work because what was happening was the fan was not coming on when it was supposed to. Which was the reason it was overheating in the first place. Right. And that's why turning the heat on didn't help much either because it did dissipate some of the heat, but it really needed that big fan, the big one. Do we have a winner? Do we have a winner? Of course, the puzzle, what we have two winners actually because it is a husband and wife team. I think that's nice. Oh yeah? So and Jack Thomas from Palm Harbor, Florida. "Rapacious nature of the delta variant. Is you know and the numbers in tokyo's is kind of giving me pause. It should sure. I just have no romance about the olympics. I'm not like an olympics hater. I'm just like indefinite. So emily because you have a lot of romance about sport generally why not the i don't believe you. I don't even believe you. I bet i actually. I don't believe eight weeks you'll meet byles left and right. I'm excited to be proved wrong. I just i like. I'm searching my memory for olympic moments. They're just i just. I don't know when kerry strug landed the believable second voluntarily sprained ankle to beat the russians for the gold. That did nothing for you. If you had seen bolt watching new sane bolt the sandbelt. Those i remember he is at least. I don't know what to say. I just it's so episodic the whole thing whatever. But the epa but isn't the episodic nature of it exactly. What is part of the beauty. That david was describing. Which is that there. Are these moments that that flare up and the elements that create that flare up the compounds of that flare up are these deeply human elementary human. Because they have to cross all languages and and regions and they just flare up and the reason we all gravitate to them is because we can all see ourselves in one way or another even the defeat in the heartbreak in this moment. it's like this basic language. I'll try to watch it in that spirit this time since it is happening john. What's your favorite olympic sport one. It's the olympic sport. I didn't know about and that suddenly became amazing. Because of some you know like i don't know badminton or greco roman wrestling. You mentioned or fencing because of some just moment of competition and all those things. I was just talking about but i guess gymnastics is probably the the one that has the most kind of amp the drama kind of goes up on constant line and then pays off at the end. Has the most opportunity for that. So for me. It's gymnastics and ice skating and this. I will say in defense of the olympics. It makes women's sports incredibly central especially for those two very very exciting competitions. And i do appreciate that about it. That's it that's all. I got for the olympics. I hear they play soccer. I love track and field. I was track and field with a big. Us spectator sport. It's big in your. That's a good point. It is the time we pay the most attention to track and field. I love washing people. Run let us go to cocktail chatter when you are sitting back having just watched hours and hours of the olympics though it's weird because it's in tokyo so timezone stuff is going to be all weird but whatever they're doing certain they're running certain things in the morning which ought to be running the evening just so they can get the us tv audience but anyway you're having your cocktail. Emily what are you gonna be chattering about. So i was just in berlin. And i was struck by all the ways. In which Berliners memorialize difficult moments in their history. That are small. You literally can like stumble over so one example are the per stein. I'm sure i'm saying that wrong. The stumble stones their seventy thousand of them now across europe that they are right outside of the house of someone who was deported or otherwise affected by the holocaust and it says their name and it says what happened to them and they're literally under feet and i just kept thinking about all our arguments and roiling in the united states right now about how to remember slavery and african american tragic history native american tragic history and this kind of memorial seems like such an opportunity. The kinds that are small. You just sort of go on with your daily life but they could affect you in some way. Another example is just amazing just on the stoppers or they do actually stumble they elevated. So that you would stump there. I think brass metal plaques that are like on top of a cobblestone rights outside of people are tripping. But you walk on them. They're like right there like you walk outside of your house every morning and it's there in front of you. So another example is called the empty library. And it's a memorial to the burning of books this giant conflagration by the nazis in the bubble plots in berlin. And it's it's by the israeli sculptor of omen and it's just this plexiglass opening a couple of them in the pavement of the plaza. And you look down and you sees empty bookshelves. I was quite taken with this reflecting on that. Emily the the dangerous forgetting. And that's great. You know wonderful way to not forget danger in any of these things john. What's cheddar. i guess. I'll do two of them because one is one is a column written by jack thomas in the boston globe. And it's titled i just learned. I only have months to live. This is what i want to say. It's not very easy to read but it say It was a useful series of meditations for me in reading it. So i would recommend it. Even though it's it's hard to read and the second thing is just one thing that shouldn't shouldn't pass by too quickly as there's been lots of books come out about the trump administration but last last week's revelations that the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff thought the president was going to stage a coup to stay in power should rise above and susan. Glasser wrote about it in the new yorker should rise above the normal kind of like. Oh this affirms everything we thought about. The president general is not some like third rate campaign aide who Who is telling stories about things. He's a serious person whose job was to interact with the president regularly and whose job also was to see threats normally was he saw threats coming from abroad to inform the president in this case he was worried that the threat itself was the president. That's a serious send signature event in the trump presidency and and everyone should kind of keep that in in their brains as they think about and evaluate what those four years were more like chatter. Couple couple of things one is been up in vermont. I was unsatisfied. With everything. I was reading so i ended up picking up the quiet american grand breen book which i've not very far into it struck me as i started to read it the ahead. This feeling that. I've now had with most of the books i've read recently. Almost anything and i've read that was written between say one thousand nine hundred twenty fifteen in the english language that they feel oddly irrelevant and historical to me today because i think so much of what guided books in that period was the sense of an american dominance that american dominance was either the texter subtext of everything the sense of america which is waiting down on everyone and either people are aspiring to it or they're oppressed by they hate it. They're annoyed by it. And that america's pushing forward the world sometimes obliviously sometimes good-heartedly but always the most important place always the thing that mattered most always the center of gravity and reading today. It feels kind of nostalgic and almost irrelevant like that. We are such a country in retreat. We're so divided. We're so shrinking from the world. We have there's it's expansive chaigneau like but it's reaching forward into the world. We are withdrawing from international challenges and we're flummoxed and we're hiding from the great problem the age which is of course climate catastrophe and so these books in which which which it's taken as a given that that the american mind the american power. The american influence is the the thing that is dominant. They feel like history. And it's it's a really alienating experience. And i'm wondering if anyone else having that that same feeling they read. The the second thing is a great tweet. I saw from susan mcpherson just it pointing to some studies about what happened to employment during the pandemic and the fact that now globally thirteen million women may the male employment will be basically back where it was this year but thirteen million women worldwide will fallen out of the workforce. That was interesting was most interesting. It looked at the percentage of women in the workforce versus the percentage of men in different parts of the world generally across the world. It's about seventy percent of men of working age or in the workforce and about forty five percent of women are in the workforce. Except if you look in the arab world where it's seventy percent of men are in the workforce but only fourteen percent of women are in the workforce fourteen percent that is stunning listeners. "Overrated highly. The reason system is standing southern japan policies to our japanese listeners. Do we have listeners in japan. We probably do. There's a lot of experts who listen. America is our third most this country united kingdom are america. And i think it's the pandemic. It's a lot of like people who are based in boston. a new york. I'm just wanting to taste home so Hey wherever you're listening from. I don't really care. It's great to have you on board the uk and our sister ships can never thank you enough. It's incredible it's ridiculous. It's insane thank you very much So many forms rubbish. But you can't deny that armories good horse and he's got close to him say foliage is obviously a good horse and he's gotten close to him and he needed he could not make out for could not have stated any clearer how badly he needed the run on debut so i really expected a step forward here and maybe was a case of. He thought he'd done enough but he hadn't and that next time out he'll improve. But jesus then is it the next day and the next day and know like he's entered over mile one next time out. I don't know about the a group three mile one the meld stakes I don't know about he also enter entry. And this six moving on the five twenty five sir check check on the Wins for mcginnis and keen mc redmond who was claiming seven. Sold onto keen. Talk me. yeah and suggestions gives a big price this race but you can understand. Why because three salts back. He looked back at his In distance but he just didn't show up in the same way on his next thoughts saw back on the same mark again as dot dot run free sauce. Guy gave him every chance abouts mix and but this was just a really good ride. I thought from came right Resident who has been egypt just having a cracking season this year. Because he says this loud one of the rail one of the eventual academic facts and rose him mid and you're always concerned positions at a premier handicap of guessing trump's by day's coming down on your outside especially when in some of our early races. The action unfolded down the center of a truck. But the moist puppet got open doxygen suggest thomas executive to follow paul and just as it did dream tail eventual. Second had. No go is the guy that he wanted. It was taken by suggest songs. And we talk about fine margins in these primary handicaps. And that's the type of thing that can make the difference between winning and losing animal saying that dream tale would have worn a bath all but you know if he if he had or if he had gone outside gotch but if the two has been in the reverse positions throughout than it's very likely that entail would have one hit and if they face each other again and they find dream tail gets lock him running on the positions. They may well be robust again. Those original space dreading through to come out and talk is what we've seen come to affect say just in handy handicap the margins this whole bit positioning can make over difference. And i think that's what's happened between Andrea touted one is necessarily best robot a handicap than the other in here to sing about it was Who's to take out the race from further by the eagles flights a thing because eastern really wells come from second last place to challenge center of a track. He's picks out well with plenty of ground to make up with a winner and the second rules. Who already kicks before his challenge than just plaza to an extent but he plugged on well site. Evason behind i go. The eagles flight was ones. Take out of the race ago full. It's especially because he's unlikely to be put off on the back of this so not one to dismiss next time out but not just a good ride by game but redmond think wants to take out of it is joyous for sarah biased here but No i actually. I've watched this back several times. He gets a sentence stolz. He's very very keen. Shane had a difficult job in his hands. He manages to get him to go on strike out and eventually he just gets swamped. And i think the the margin of his defeat is exaggerated towards the end and until now most people may not look at that and go We'll just ignore him. I'd put him in your tracker. And i'd follow him next time because he's going to be a decent price and i think this is a very very good way some you look back at what he did. It dundalk up three in a row. Sarah set on the show that he'd had a couple of problems probably just needed. You ran the third june. He's not beating far. He's not beating far officially and a half lengths Things decent race to be had in him and He's the one that i would take out of it. But all credit keen and to to Adri mcginnis with sir. Jack thomas but jay is the or stood i will be keeping a very close eye on and Trent nice touch with as speaking of lending nice touches. "Of what the army called v platoons and in a in a number of infantry regiments. They have fifth bulletins that are in segregated infantry regiments meaning white infantry regiments and they add a platoon of african american soldiers. And so this guy jack. Thomas is given an opportunity to volunteer. Be given an opportunity to volunteer and become infantry. And he takes that volunteers. He goes through a little bit of training and then he is put in the fifth platoon of company of the sixtieth infantry regiment infantry division and he begins fighting with that unit all the way until april forty five. Were there in a little town in germany. Not far from number. Where during an attack that stalls he runs forward helps to men to safety than picks up a bazooka uses it to knock out two tanks and he is subsequently awarded the distinguished service cross reaction so he went from drafty to distinguish hers cross. And i think that's absolutely fascinating. At the end of the war. He goes back home. He's processed out discharged at fort benning georgia and he goes out spends a couple of days at home and then immediately goes back and reenlist in the army and stay stays in the army until nineteen sixty seven and he is really still serving as drill instructor and then eventually i mean he has so relocated his life that when he dies he's close to fort benning and he's actually buried now at the fort benning post cemetery and i find his story to be just exactly the kind of story that needs to be told. Now there's a reason why that guy that guy who could have stayed a truck driver and never been in harm's way had never had a shot fired at him but instead he wanted to be up front and he ended up being upfront and improved just when he was made of in germany in april forty-five when he earned the distinguished service cross which is an extremely impressive decoration and then i think he proved it once again when he re enlisted in the army and stayed in he went literally from being a drafty. Two distinguished service cross recipient combat veteran and life. And that's the story that needs to be told. Sounds like your next book. If i ever get another i would love. I would welcome the opportunity to write about him. And i was friendly. I was friendly with the only surviving. African american medal of honor is being in second world war as name was vernon baker. And he's lovely human being. He received distinguished service cross in april nineteen forty five and northern italy near town called monty new so and then in nineteen ninety-six under the clinton administration he was upgraded to melgar. He was not the only one several others were upgraded but he was the only one store wash at. I was friendly with him. And travels to idaho where he lived in interviewed him spent time getting to know him getting to know historian and eventually we brought him to do orleans and he was a great human being in a great american and a guy that stayed in the us army. He volunteered for the army and stayed in it until the nineteen sixties and he became a lieutenant briefly during world war two in the ninety second infantry division and when he became an officer was only during the worst that when the war ended he went back to being sergeant that was very interesting quality of his personal story and then he was completely content in the years after world war two as a recipient of the distinguished service cross and he embodied something that i that to me is. It's catnapped when it comes to admiring people in that is that he was very quiet about his service. He was not boastful and he wasn't overly proud of it was his. It was his and he was cool with it. And he didn't seem to undergo much change from when he was just a distinguished service cross recipient and that was a that was obscure enough to where people didn't he didn't stop traffic but then he nineteen ninety-six became a medal of honor recipient. And he lived in northern idaho around a whole lot of white people and it was funny to he. Lived near this town called saint. Mary's and when i was interviewing we in saint mary's and he came in and we went to this diner one morning and when we did that and he walked into the steiner every person in that diner stood because he was he was in the reu. They would not be seated in his presence. Until he's everybody sit down. Stop it sit down. And then it was just this procession of well-wishers and people wanting to come back just to shake his hand. These stories that. I feel like need to be made more conspicuous. And that's why. I would wish that i wish. Hbo would spend the kind of money that they did. Get others to make something. That dogs stories. Like jack thomas vernon baker and there are hundreds of other stories out there that would narrate the african-american experience in world war two significant significant a great degree. Because i believe that they had the same sense of duty optimism and sacrifice that the men depicted in band of brothers ad. I think their experiences no different aside from the fact that they dealt with of course overt racism and segregation. But i still think that they were american pair patriots.

"Michael leaves in for Max today, but rob as you well know the team's overall goal. In an individual players go within that season don't always align because you're an organization. You gotta think the immediacy as well as big picture right. But if you're a player on the team, one thing you do want to do you want to go to the playoffs, So give us an idea of if you're a veteran player specifically on a team and you're tired of being kind of stuck in the mire. You just want to go to the playoffs. Are you more inclined in to have that veteran quarterback be out there to start as opposed to sending out of rookie when you have no idea what he's capable of doing? Well, I say I'm spoiled because we think when I was in New England, we had Super Bowl or bust. That was our mentality. We need to win the Super Bowl or failure, so I really been in a situation in the past. You know, early in my career, I was on a couple teams that Yeah. I was with those seven Miami dolphins there, one in 15. And I can tell you I just remember I was a young guy. And thinking to myself. Well, I got a lot of time left. I got a lot more flights of the apple. And there were some guys like Jack Thomas. Jason Taylor that had been there a long time and they knew they didn't have many bites of the apple. And then you can see the urgency. You can see the letdown of another failed season and you don't realize that until you get older. And I'd say into my like, ninth year. That's when I really realized like, man. I'm not lucky to do this because you look around. You see a lot of guys that played a long time. And they never played in one playoff game, You know, let alone be playing in, like two seasons worth, you know, so it's right. For me. It's definitely a blessing to be able to have experienced that. But if you're an older player, you just want whoever can give you the best chance of winning out there. I personally think Sometimes those older veterans that bounce around from team to team to team they might not be your best shot. Maybe a young guy that's hungry. That's trying to earn respect and earn a new contract or be rookie of the year or something like that might be out there and give you the best shot. And we all know in 2021 the type of football style of football. It's not like it was 10 years ago. You know, every quarterback now you're seeing a lot more movement. Lot more run pass option stuff. Moving around in the pocket. And it caused the defensive fit. I mean, I could tell you Listen, I miss Cam Newton a few times So when that guy was in his prime It definitely causes a lot of issues when you're when you're trying to defend those guys. Rob Ninkovich. Join us here in the Max Kellerman show. Rob. Appreciate the time my brother and enjoy all those calories in New Orleans. I'm mad. Jealous right now. So jealous. I'm gonna have some charbroiled oysters tonight. That's my next move Going full New Orleans, Honest. Appreciate the time and have a good weekend. All right, take care. Bye. Rob. Negev is joining us here in the Max Kelly Michelle we have presented by progressive insurance. That's I strongly believe that And maybe part of that philosophy is shaped by something that Jerry West had told me a long time ago. Um My second job and television was working in Memphis. And that's when Jerry West came to the Grizzlies become their GM, and I was fortunate spent a lot of time with them, and we talked about a lot of things, not just specifically basketball, but sort of big picture things. And his philosophy was if you make a mistake In player evaluation. As soon as you realize the mistake was made correct it That means moving on from a player not resigning him. Whatever. And His philosophy is You're only compounded the mistake by not dealing with it as soon as possible. Okay, so that philosophy can apply to every other sport as it relates to player evaluation. Especially when it comes to drafted because we do know as much information as you may have going into a draft. Ultimately, it is a crapshoot. It is the lottery. You don't know how players are going to evolve from level to level. You think you know you can make educated guesses, but you don't know until that player gets to your organization. And evolves develops. The sooner you know who you have. The better It is for your organization. And so as it relates to quarterback, considering the value that they have You got to put them out there. If you're drafting a dude in the top 10 You think he's your franchise? Dude, then he's got to play week one. What are you waiting on? What is he going to learn? In the meeting room and not playing versus both. There's theory, and there's reality. It's like going to school. It's like going to college. What you learn in the classroom is one thing, but you have to apply it to real life. The sooner you apply to real life. The faster you learn. I mean, it's just It's really that simple. So if Bill Belichick believes Matt Jones is a dude that Mac Jones, you start a week one Matt Nagy believe Justin Fields as a guy then Week one..

"Organizations are available in the show notes which please pronounce your name correctly for me. Jack thomas you are the executive director of the san francisco center for the book correct. And how long have you been there. I started there in the fall of twenty twelve. Prior to that you were in the business. World will call lead versus nonprofit world right to and doing what. I had a stint at a nonprofit before that. But yeah i worked in finance for the bulk of you know post college up until about the age of forty i was in. I was working in finance and yeah it was. It was fine. I worked. I worked in boston. On a trading floor per number years in the night moved out to california and worked in public finance the bond market. I was at credit analyst. For for moody's for many years. I think if there was going to be a kind of niche and the finance world war i was somewhat happy. It was it was there. Because it was primarily people who've done click science degrees liberal liberal arts degrees and we're very interested in the workings of government and so this was helping governments raise money to to do their project but the issue was that who who invest in municipal bonds. It's very wealthy people or students who we never see. So i was writing these really dry reports on. You know the credit quality of a sewer district for wealthy people who wanted a safe investment. So you know it was interesting. I like to elected learn things. I'd like to kind of just dive in figure them out like their puzzles. And certainly finance was something that i'm not so much a numbers person but there was a m- enough to find it interesting and so there was certainly plenty to learn there but once i'd done that i just remember sitting on my desk and seeing like the years of deals coming across my desk that i just did the same thing over and over again and started really get to me. Yep so i i kind of it took a long time for me to really take the leap and in fact i ended up just saying i don't know what i'm doing next i'm done i'm taking. Thanks everyone later and took a couple years off and in that time sort of made the decision that i was gonna working for some sort of arts nonprofit was the way to go or at least at the thing that appealed to me and i just starting to build relationships and connect with people. So that's kinda how. I may that initial shift away from that world. What like. i'm always joke. That artists get into being artist. Because they don't have a business mind lay the they're just not good with business so i'm wondering because you come from business background. Does that actually benefit you. So hat did all your years of being a business. Industry is helping run a non profit. Yes i think. So i mean. I don't think anyone can do it. Now that i'm special but you know. I think that you certainly have to have a genuine interest in what you're going into. I mean that was a bit of the issue. When i first the first nonprofit i worked for was was an orchestra growth with playing instruments and was introduced to classical music. But i never really was. No you know it was interesting. Half no passionate. Yeah that's that's one of my favorite words when it comes to careers like compassion. Sorry you're welcome to cuss like a sailor on a vicious But could discuss the distraction. So i was not. I just was not bought into bought into that. But i was really. It was a period learning. So yeah you know it's it's funny you. You come into a nonprofit. And i think that there is a way having having been fully immersed in corporate culture for an extended period of time and how you approach things in almost a business not in the money but in the sort of attitude of approaching the way you approach things and authority and rules and regulations. I mean frankly. The most i thing about working in finance was this moment or the own. My god this is all they're just making it up as the along the it's all made up and it's all in agreement and so they can just do whatever they want and if people go along with it you know or works right on so that was really eye-opening insertive changed the way i thought about things. Not one hundred percent but certainly influenced me so coming into a nonprofit. I was really much you know running meetings and having agendas and you know sort of toning down. The emotion of meetings and trying to get things to get things done was was was helped. Because you know. I think that nonprofits not all of them but they can trend to be a little time consuming in a way. That doesn't it doesn't need to be time consuming. I guess so. That helped me to kind of just bring something to the organization. That might not have been there. You know the organization doesn't have to be that but having that sort of influence can make some things happen. So i think that really helped. I think there was this attitude of you know. It's like yeah. Those are the rules but we can do whatever we want. I mean that. I brought over. And i think sort of free people up to.

"I think they got a good one there. So when it comes to guards, especially lead guards, uh, the Sacramento Kings Are in good shape right now. 855 to 1 to 4 to 27855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Let's go to Gary in Jacksonville. Gary, you're up next here on CBS Sports Radio. What's up, Gary? We're robbing. In my view. The last two cars are wrong. I'm going with Kansas City 32 17. I thought the Bucks were very fortunate to come up with with a win over Green Bay because they didn't play very well. Let's taste of three interceptions. Defense failed amount plus a king plane just got off on football, given up the touchdown at the end of the half. They were very, very fortunately, Tampa Bay to come out with a win, but I'm looking at my dolphins today. Robin, with Jamie and Howard off Defensive player of the year. Boy Voice Coach of the Year and Jack Thomas. The whole thing. I hope my daughter has come out with some hardware today. Who comes out with Harvard today, my dolphin to help They come out with some hardware today. Okay, all right. Between Zach Thomas, Xavi and Howard and, yeah. Bright stories for coach India. There you go. I would have given Florida's coach of the year. So if that's Ah, an annulment, you could take that. And run with it and go to There you go. Um, uh, Who else? I talked to a lot of people this week is a Super Bowl, but Chase young, he told me because I asked him about Ron Rivera. And of course, good news that Ronnie here is cancer free. And he told me that, um, he made a promise to run Rivera. In training camp that he would win defensive rookie of the year um for him, and we'll see if you know that comes to to fruition, but I think it's likely is You know, Patrick, I mean, Aaron Rodgers. There's the Freudian slip. He's gonna wind up winning the M V P, of course, and that's gonna be one of those. It happens a lot in sports nowadays when they don't give him out after the playoffs, especially in the NBA when it's like, why don't you give it to LeBron? Uh, the air Roger Goodwin. The EVP and it might look a little funny when? When Patrick Holmes if Patrick Holmes lights up Tom Brady and the and the Chiefs tomorrow night. Is to be honest, I would have voted for Mom's, Um, you know, Mahomes has now reached that status to me where he is the default and VP. And it would take a lot for me to say anybody else is more valuable. How about Stony in Charlotte, Stony Europe next year on the Robin Lundberg Show on CBS Sports Radio. What's going on, Stoney? Without lovely. Um, how? How, I don't know if you remember me calling early air about the life he went in and the race almost cleaning but campus title town right now, and Brady is going to bring it. Of the baby. He's gonna put my homes and a little cradle. Could you still little baby? Uh, the bucks are gonna win. And I don't know if you would take it because you do you understand? The bus could win, but the people I want to grow up I think you're okay. You're okay. We're heading back. All right. I agree with the chief somewhere talented, But I just got a feeling that the Bucks and Brady are gonna pull it out big time. Not what I'm saying is, I won't be shocked If the bucks when it's not like it would be like, Oh, my God, I can't believe this s O. You know, there is a three point spread in the game, but I'm absolutely if if anybody is clear, I'm absolutely picking the Kansas City Chiefs. I do not pick against the Chiefs. The Chiefs have been the best team. They were the best team last year. Now they're the best team this year. I think they'll be there. There. There have a real shot to be the first team to three peat. I think you haven't seen that in the Super Bowl era. I'd really do believe that Patrick Holmes is on a different level than everybody else. Like. I think it's Patrick Holmes. And then there's like some other great players like there. There is Rogers. There is Wilson, There is Brady. And Watson and in all those guys who, Alan, you know great quarterbacks Jackson, But there's Mahomes and everybody else and when you've got the way that the Kansas City Chiefs Play offense, just a brilliant Offensive scheme that they run. I mean, Andy Reid when he's had time to prep for games, as always done extremely well in those situations. The Chiefs have those playmakers. You know, Travis Kelsey is the guy If you zone up against Mahomes, he's just gonna get comfortable with Kelsey. Find him in those pockets. I re kill, I believe is the most dangerous skill position player and the entire NFL. He could be John a five yard slant. Take it to the house. He could beat you 85 yards over the top and and obviously take it. The house. I think the chief defense is underrated. You know, it's there. Absolutely not a liability or anything like that. They've played well in these big games. You've got I mean, Kansas City lost one game all season. You know, in sometimes I feel like they were bored out there. And when it when it came time to the games that they needed to win or the head to head matchups. They want them. Already beat Tampa. I just, you know. I'm not picking.
