Charlie and Jack Posobiec Discuss What It Means to Be a Good Man

"All right, this is a good question. Sherman from Grand Rapids, I commonly say, just as some background is in references in the question, be the same person in public that you are in private. Because stop pretending to be somebody that you're not. So if you are in private, a conservative, be a conservative in public. Charlie always say that you should be the same person in public that you are in private. I agree, but what does it look like to be a good person in private so that you carry over that good behavior publicly? I hear Jack talk about his years of sobriety. You talk about the need to explore big ideas and always be constantly learning. Can the two of you just expand on what it looks like to be a good person, specifically a good man in today's day and age Sherman from Grand Rapids? Kind of an open ended question, but I'd go back to I'd go back to the gospels where we're taught to be in the world but not of the world, right? So the idea that when people meet you, that you can talk, you know, I can make cultural references to Game of Thrones and Harry Potter and Star Wars and everything else. But when you meet them, when you meet someone, or I should say, when they meet you, rather, that they should come off with a sense of that person is grounded in something different. And something that's a little bit different than what's pumped onto TV every day. What is your sobriety meant for your life? Not drinking. So, yeah, for me, early on, and I wasn't someone, you know, I didn't do I never considered myself an alcoholic, but it got to a point where I said, you know what? I'm done with this. I'm totally done. Why? And why did you get to that point? You know, I've told some stories about this before, but I had a friend who, you know, I had a friend who got arrested over it and I saw the way that it basically ruined his life. And this was really on early 20s. And I saw how just so many doors were closed to him. We're completely closed by after what happened. And I said, you know, for my life, looking at it, it's not worth it. It's not worth even going down that road, and plus I get to wake up every morning, feeling amazing right now and not just because I sleep on my pillows, which I do. From a food Kirk. There's another promo code out there that people not on this show, but not on this show. But seriously, we do see one of our pillars, actually, and the toppers in the sheets. But my wife loves not knowing, I don't understand. From a coach is the only way to go. Yeah, okay. And you have your mental, the way I look at it is this. The way I look at is this. Parallel talents, right? Parable Italians is that the idea from behind that is that God gives you your talents God gives you your gifts. He doesn't give them to you, so you can bury them under the ground. Talents were a currency and hide them. But you're right. Right, it is perfectly for the English term to. You're right. And so I look at it and I say I've been given whatever gifts I've been given whatever meager gifts I've been given by God. And this is something that dilutes them. It's something that affects your brain chemistry. It's something that affects your health. This doesn't seem like I'm being a good steward of God's talents if I'm

"I've seen Jack talk about the shade war, I'm really interested in knowing more about Jill Biden versus Kamala, what's the dynamic like? Oh, it's huge. Build out some of that out more piece from The Bronx. Thank you. And thank you for subscribing to the Charlie Kirk show podcast. Go ahead, check. There you go. Yeah, so the shade war has been going on. I mean, we all kind of know that Kamala Harris, of course, was nobody else's pick either. However, in the wake of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement, Joe Biden was kind of in a box. He had to choose someone who was African American. And then so Kamala Harris was the one a lot of the media, a lot of the elites have been pushing her early on. Remember very early on she did that town hall with Jake tapper, just out of nowhere. Nobody was talking about Kamala and suddenly CNN is feeding her on the entire audience saying, oh, combo is going to be amazing. She's going to be great. Very, very naked on her feet. Obviously. But like Hillary Clinton in many ways, she's kind of the California version of Hillary Clinton, where she plays the inside game. She understands what's going on. She plays people against each other and you know, the inside politics, the office politics, the palace intrigue, if you will. I mean, look, she went from somebody who was a staffer in San Francisco all the way up to being the senator from San Francisco. People want to talk about how she did it. My point is she did it. She made it happen. Right. That's ambition. That's a 100% ambition. This is what she is dedicated her life to. So I wanted to go to Joe, and say, you know, Joe, you're not supposed to put someone as your vice president that you know will betray you, then they get the chance, right? "Start this week over here and most beautiful place. On god's green earth in downtown santa monica with the l. c. s. aright where the grass is green and. The pain is over fifty. We are starting with our week. Five results here starting at the top of the table. We've got an interesting rundown for you in terms of standings and by interesting i mean this should come as absolutely zero surprise to anyone who's been falling for any amount of time here this year in first place cloud nine at ten and two tied for second we have. Tsm and one hundred thieves at eight and four fourth place as a three way. Tie to round out your playoff teams evil geniuses dignatories and team liquid all remain in control of their destiny immortals to entire games behind in seventh place. Fly quest down there at four and eight and eighth and tied for ninth place. We've got seal g and golden guardians. Who that's for the in terms of standings. Let's talk cloud nine top of the table. In how did they do this week. Nine had a banger of a weekend. I'm really really satisfied with how this team performed this weekend. Everyone is looking fantastic right now. Honestly perks has some absolutely popoff. Plays on yasuo in the blank. This weekend He was looking awesome blabber. Just absolutely runs train on one hundred thieves on olaf. He's still looking amazing. I honestly don't understand how this guy still getting. Olaf when champion pool is more like an ocean. I guess you know. It's kind of hard to ban out. Everyone right yeah and then you know they also had just a pretty good win vs golden guardians. This was a really really good week for c. Nine they displayed a a show of dominance that i think is important for them to show versus lower tier teams and upper tier teams like hundred thieves the takeaway from this weekend see nine looking fantastic. I'm happy with this team. And my favorite thing about this team this season so far is they have displayed the ability to play like everything they can play. All sorts of different team calms they can play all sorts of different styles and be super successful on it so lots to love from. Cnn radio man. I wonder what it's like to be a fan of a team. That's like the best in the region. Can you feel so good what it feels like to be yankees fan fan now recently. Hey man at least. I always tell myself no matter how bad things get. At least i'm not. Cgi got even fan. Just seal g actually entire org. at least you're as an entity the idea mostly. Yeah yeah oh yeah. I was just gonna say overall c nine great weekend moving on. Yeah and i think a key point here is they did go up against one. Hundred thieves created separation against a team. That's currently tied for second. They did in just such an incredible manner. It was like every single lane. One like blabber just played out of his mind perks actually styled on monday on the blank it was just such an awesome game. In addition to that there was actually a little not really an interview but ls during. I think it was a co starring. He was doing as well. Fudge seanang fudge came on just chatted back and forth with him a little bit and revealed that perks. Basically said yeah. It's just demonte. I could totally take leblanc into him and fucking popped off. I think he got a level. Three solo kill level three or level. Four to play a little vision. Game with perks had award kinda thwarted the whole thing and it cost him onto his life. Basically and the game like there's no way or less. Yeah that snowballed everything out of control so his brutal really really. Well played for nine showing that even if they were close in the standings. This matchup is just so nine favored. There's also been a lot of chatter specifically from people who are in the know that one hundred thieves has a major mental block against the nine. They absolutely hate playing against him. So little fun. Little tidbits for y'all there. All right seni- jumping down to. Let's talk about the two teams tied aid right now for second place. Tsm and hundred thieves. We'll start with the less fun. One which is of course hundred thieves. Who has kinda struggled a little bit throughout the course of this entire split. Not looking nearly as strong as i think we all would of hoped. Jack's talked me about their weekend. All right so other than the cloud nine game that we just touched on mcleod nine blew them out of the water. Hundred thieves mostly had a good weekend. They beat seattle g. They had a close call but they then recovered from their close call. Took control of the game back from seattle jian won the game Close calls is more of like they. Lucked out into a wake-up hopefully they don't make same kind of mistakes of leading finn. Just do ridiculous nar things when his team's losing miserably they literally flipped a to k gold lead into four k gold back. Yeah and flip within like eight minutes. Yeah it was stupid. That's nuts g. You can hear this hill shawn's voice because the game had it but from the perspective of hundred thieves like other than the one mistake that was such a huge swing the game. Well they played really well against dignatories capping the shit out of fate god and the rest of the team playing fine or or well depending on the player like demonte didn't have a great day in general. Don't they didn't have a great weekend in general. Let's be honest but then yeah the cloud nine game like to cut blown out in twenty four minutes. It was brutal you mentioned it was monte attempts to do a bush play like bait something to get away and that was the only thing like someday played without respect for fudge it all and got punished repeatedly for it like it was rough. It was really rough.

"Police in Texas arrested a man they say went for fast food in a stolen ambulance. This was in Houston just happened Thursday night. According to investigators, paramedics working an apartment complex on the man jumped in the ambulance and drove off. Officials used GPS to track the ambulance to the jack in the box drive through. They found the man ordering food inside of the emergency vehicle. He didn't have the sirens going that he had the lights on. That's the topper. I'll have a jumbo Jack talk. "He's their fact checker. Don't you know? Writing about Jack talking about an article on opinion piece on Jen Psaki P s a K II. She's going to the White House press secretary. She was there with Obama get ready for reality grounded White House press briefings. That's what he puts out on social media, she responds. This isn't how we in the press should be framing things. Of course, we want a good working relationship, and I certainly hope this press office is a better relationship with the truth. But it's our job to diligently question the Biden administration to Oh, wow. Look at that. Isn't that everything you want to hear? Because that's not right now what it looks like. We're gonna be getting It does not look like That's going to be Where people are at. There's also announcement that the Biden team Has announced the formation of a White House, a gender policy council. Don't know. Gender Policy Council. You. You mean a council that's going to Tell girls in high school that they have to accept boys competing in, uh in girls sports, and they just have to shut up about it. That's That's it right that I'm assuming that's what we're getting to. I'm assuming that's what it's gonna be. The White House Gender Policy Council. There seems to be so many.

"Of the world of technology as it applies to Joe schmo and everybody else who like me doesn't have a clue this is important information even after you explain some of the stuff though I still don't have a clue but it's okay it's nice well then that means I'm not doing my job well because I'm supposed to be a text translator so I guess that's who it's gonna have to remember that Victoria the tech translator all right so what's up but his the first translation plasma bot well this is for Microsoft they're launching a self screening tool for people to check whether or not they qualify to donate their plasma with the hopes of creating a treatment for those with covert nineteen so the two is part of Microsoft's work with a group called code big nineteen plasma alliance when someone and we've heard our jet doctor can talk about this doctor Jack talk about it when someone has a virus any virus their immune system then produces antibodies to fight the virus so once you've recovered from it those antibodies are in your blood and so they they're thinking about these plasma trials is that as soon as you are recovered meaning you have no more symptoms of covert nineteen you are at least seventy two hours without a fever without taking any medication to reduce the fever and you had seven days of you know just feeling healthier so that is where you're in that recovery window at that time now people are a lot of researchers are starting to take plasma donations from people who were covered and then they're trying to come up with a treatment so Microsoft wants to fast track this because this is something that really needs to happen quickly and it's not a vaccine but a treatment that could really be effective and so once the infected person is recovered they take the antibodies and then they inject those antibodies into another person who hasn't had the virus yet and then that gives them the chance and that with the hope that they if they do come in contact with the virus that they will be immune to it and so it's essentially it works very similarly to a vaccine but this is a faster way because you know as we've talked about vaccines take a long time to go through trials and things like that and so now this is actually not a new treatment and believe it or not this plasma treatment the antibody treatment was used to treat diphtheria in the eighteen nineties so some of this old medicine is really coming back it also was used effectively during the nineteen eighteen flu pandemic that you love to talk about the Spanish flu so that was also used back then and it's something that they're really moving forward with plasmon few Asians have been used to treat sars measles chicken pox things like that so some early information of covert nineteen suggests that plasmon fusions have helped some patients recovery time but it's still too early to know exactly how effective the treatment is so Microsoft wants to fast track this and and and also you know I have friends who have recovered now from the virus who are going to be donating plasma and so it's an easy simple thing to do a quick little bow blood donation and you could really you know potentially save a lot of lives courage everyone yep yep all right here's Disney providing even more stay at home content get out good old days and he's trying to help out during self isolation first if you're a parent and having some problems getting a little wants to hit.

"I think that's a good formula last week. We were trying to work on some things that we probably would too long. We we saw kids. Were pretty tired and we this week we talked about. Hey we gotta maybe need to taper off that a little bit and they only have so much their bodies could do so. I think you're writing. Probably two two really good ones in two matches for us would be a good a good balance. I was coaching at Western Michigan University and I didn't know much about volleyball whatsoever however they had gone over there in there in the women's volleyball program they would get pretty much packed. Jim to watch their volleyball team team and I got excited at got very very very interested in it and have watched it on television and and whenever we have a chance when Thomas Down Indiana we had a chance to go down and watch watch that volleyball team here in if there are fans out there and I'm totally serious fans out there that have not never experienced volleyball. They need need to get out and it's the most entertaining exciting maybe football maybe slightly above it but I wasn't it would be a thing get. Get your kids introduced to it. Offen- tastic sports spectator sport one of the best things to do on a Saturday in Rbis to noon football game fall by seven o'clock volleyball GAM whether it's at cliff keen or at the center or this weekend Sunday against Notre Dame in the crisis center huge match yeah. It's a big bachelor show we play them on Wednesday at their place and we play when Sunday here. They're really good team this year. I think we've got a really good squad so it'll be we played them last year in swept in both matches. I know they're going to be pretty hungry coming in but Jack Jack appreciate the plug for sure but it's it's really a lot of times. I'll ask. Some of our fans like older fans. Don't have a connection of oil. How'd you get into this and I'm like oh I just I came to a game one day and the love of it and the physicality people will be amazed when they see you see backyard volleyball or like you said that you know the stuff you play shoot the ball over and then you watch what what our players as you're doing an phenomenal I mean they play way above the net. It's physical. It's it's a really exciting game and so I think when people come in they're like. Oh Hey this is different than I expected. Attend our attendances role. We played a lot more. Chrysler now because we we play and keen arena was our home and it seats eighteen fifty we were selling out pretty consistently and we just needed to get into a bigger venue and this weekend we had navy and Eastern Michigan batches. They wouldn't normally draw very well and we drew like twenty two hundred for each one of them. We wouldn't have been able to fit that in keen arena so we're growing two years ago. How stay with eighty five hundred Chrysler last year. We had a couple of matches well over five thousand so we're starting to get a lot better attendance because eight people Orion Hey. This is a really fun sport in our conference is the best in the country and your team's really good seventeen to twenty years in the tournament kind of speaks for itself and the twentieth the Eighteenth Eighteenth. Out of twenty one is well on its way yeah we're. We're certainly working at it. I like the kids we have and we got a young inexperienced team this year but they're getting better quick and I think we're going to be pretty good. It's been a it's been a fun group so far but we're still really early season so getting ready. Go blue go blue. This is Jack Talk. I WANNA listen. I want to be better. I want to be the best I can be. Welcome to our team. Jack Talk as you get older. You get to be seventy eight years old. Here's my fine hair grows in places that it hadn't been before for welcome to Hashtag Jack Talk. It's now time for everybody's favorite segment of the week here in attacking stay the Harbaugh's podcast. It's time for Jack. Talk just because Jackson Baltimore doesn't mean we can't have a jack talk in fact even greater than have on Jackie and one of my favorite cities in the world hope. You're having a good time down there in Baltimore. Foam watching football. What do you have this week projectile. Oh I spent a benefactor tastic week Jackie and I've been here with John and Anger Nelson joy ourselves ballgame yesterday but John and I were driving to the game yesterday morning and we got to reflecting a little bit on his twelve years his twelfth year here with the Ravens and talking about the first year that that he got the job and and how we got here to Baltimore was fascinating we talked about he was in Indiana you as an assistant coach there with Cam Cameron and he was a special teams guy not wasn't his title but he volunteered to be the punt return coached any volunteer to it'd be the punt coached and the kickoff on through and before he nudity was coaching all phases of of special teams just because he enjoy coaching he wanted to be a part that that that football and then asked her first year he got a call from the Philadelphia Eagles and they were looking for a college coach that that enjoys special teams teams and was an outstanding coach and it was kind of a new movement in professional football to bring in college coaches do the special teams and John was kind of the forerunner runner that and so he went in for an interview there were three guys interviewed and and they decided that they were going to hire another college coach a coach from Auburn University University to be the special teams coach John had gotten a phone call. I think it was noon Tuesday. They made the decision that they were moving in a different direction so he called and I remember the phone call that I didn't get the job. You didn't get it but you know what maybe college football's. Where bone maybe this is? This is where I should be and Ingrid feels the same way so we're disappointed but we feel that there's a reason for it and this is where I belong. hung the phone up and I told Jackie how disappointed I was for him. In about twenty minutes later the phone rang and it was John. He goes dead. I am the new special special teams coach for the Eagles. The the other guy got the job. We decided that he wanted to stay at Auburn and didn't want to come to Philadelphia so so I'm the second guy that they call the. I'm I up and I'm now the special teams coach while he was there nine years as a special teams coach and then last year he was a defensive backfield coach with Jim Johnson coordinator with the Eagles and one of the great coaches nine mind that there isn't football but then then any ad got the phone call from the Baltimore Ravens that they they were looking for a head coach. John was on the list and John Asks for harmony other coaches. You have on the list and I said well. You're twenty one. We've we've selected twenty-one individuals it interview and often it's going to be by committee Eddie. It's going to be of course the owner will make the decision but it's going to be a group decision and in what direction we go and so he came in for an interview you got he made the he was down to about sex six or seven and came back for another interview and now down to three and they called him and told him that he did not get the job that job was going to to Jason Garrett with with the Dallas cowboys. He was offense coordinator. I believe that's who they had desired to hire but you know they congratulated him on a on a great interview and knew that he would be successful possibly for another job so now disappointment contend. Jason Jason Garrett goes back to Dallas and decides that he wants to stay there so now it's down to two so he goes back for another interview and with Steve Bruce Shoddy who in my mind is the very best owner and all of professional football and he goes back for a complete day starts at nine o'clock in the morning interview ends about six o'clock at at night and and so now it's he's fried and and so it comes down down ready to say goodbye and leave and then they were going to make a decision and then and they were in a committee and Steve Shoddy says John John Come into my office. We we need one less discussion. We need one last time that we're gonNA talk and so he goes in and they sit down across from the desk and Nestea says John just one question I have for you. Why would this organization choose you. Give me one reason why this organization would choose you to be our head. Football coach and John said question came from prepare for every question but he wasn't prepared really for that one so he's kind of guys glazed over a little bit and he dropped his head a little bit and he looked back at him. He said Mr Bush if I've been here for three interviews today came at nine o'clock and it's now six o'clock if you don't know that I'm the right guy to be the head football coach of the Baltimore Ravens then. You should probably hire someone else. Steve Shoddy lit up like a Christmas tree. Greece across the table grabbed his hand sit John. You are now the head football coach of the Baltimore Ravens and you know not rehearsed and and that's the that's the answer that that that he wanted to hear evidently and so he became the head coach and then he was here here for twelve years last year he goes through a situation where you know they they they lost three or four games in a row and condie another year on his contract but there was some sentiment that maybe he wouldn't come back. If they didn't make the playoffs maybe he wouldn't come back doc and then and then they go ahead and they and they win six five of the last six games and Kamar Lamar Jackson the quarterback we're back and he and he plays well and so he gets an extension so he's going to be the problem overrated coach and for for for for more years but the the reason the dial a diatribe if you might have that discussion if you might as because I think John Harbaugh represents persistence at its highest level. I I think this young man is such a hard worker and such a dedicated family man and and football coach in that persistence is life ever since I remember started walking beginning to talk as as been his major asset in how he's conducted himself as a husband father and the football coach it reminds me of this this Calvin coolidge quote that on persistence that I've become a part of our part of our collection and it goes like this nothing in the world can take the place of persistence talent alad will not nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent genius will not education will not persistence persistence and determination alone are omnipotent and then. I looked up. I'm not worthy guy but on Nippon struggles that words I looked it up and it's the definition of that is unlimited power and unlimited power in conducting your life and John Harbaugh is a shining light of that and I sit here in his office now and he's in a staff meeting and and just proud that I have in in watching how he induction well Jack. That was great stuff. You gave me the chills telling us Diba shoddy stories you know the Ravens Fan I love here and stuff like that and excited to have many more years of John. Harbaugh on the sidelines patrol knows sidelines purple and black. "I'm sure they, they all know chomping at the bits or will it change the game much where the games played. Do you think it's going pretty much give it more space? You look at the inside the three point line when you have a guy who's a post up player who's uniquely. I was skilled sacred via the play with his bag to the basket use a little bit more space to operate, whether paint doesn't seem so clog up. We have guys sitting out there, three point line loughry points shoes, and can shoot the ball. You know, nowadays, a lot of people 'specially in the NBA level. Are you seem like fours and fives to, to Ford threes, gang or some of them came really shoot three but they they taking it. But, you know, for us in how we gonna play, you know, for next season, I could see that three point line being very useful in that more pointing out the players wanted, joy spend some time behind it. They line because we. Pricing, a lot, you know, in developing our guys into becoming better shooters will be officially time here in the podcast. We're really looking forward to seeing the beginning of the Juwan Howard era of Michigan basketball, just south cool, to say it, bringing bringing Juwan Howard back to Ann Arbor to coach, the basketball team. "Widow get to pull the string and, and drop the curtains that that was that was really cool. What was on where the direction that he was? He was looking is there any thought that went into the artists, the artists had worked that whole thing out about. He had a very specific idea about. The how he oriented, the statue that was a that was probably the news part about doing the museum in addition to all the memorabilia going in and seeing, you know, everything was stored in the storeroom. And so literally went back and, and like I've never seen a Heisman Trophy before. So there's Tom Harmon Zysman trophy, right there. And it was pretty incredible. I know where the Tom Brady statue can go across the railroad tracks there. We got that building over here. Area Yeah. turn at it and turn that into like a nice mall, setting even have a walk where you have Tom Brady, Kizzie Russell. You know, you got the Desmond Howard just different Heisman Trophy, winners, basketball players. It'd be like a a like a walk of fame fame, you again baseball. You know Jim Abbott, we could tons of baseball players. We could be a whole like. Barry Larkin certainly would vary. Locker would be more in that in that serving the statue. Turn that into a whole, like thing, you know, mall, Bill Martin would by Bill Martin. If you're listening, appreciate you guys coming in and taking project. It looks awesome. It's been fun to watch from afar. Because I see one week at a time been really fun to see a can't wait to see all incompletion and take a tour of it and see it and job well done. Just walked downstairs. It's pretty much completed now. And thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Absolutely to, to you both, and to, to everybody that worked on this project. And as we said, I mean, they are welcome to come. Please bring their families their kids, the grandkids whoever and, and show them the work that they did because it was really, really fantastic. It's now time for everybody's favorite, second of the week, Jek talk here and attack each day, the Harbaugh's podcast, Jack, we were talking about it in the last segment, and it really got me thinking about all this amazing construction going on here at Boeckler hall when you got here in one thousand nine hundred seventy three it looked totally different. Like I have no idea what it looked like a nineteen Seventy-three. How far have we come? O- light-years, literally light years back in seventy three. Our office building was over in a corner, corner, state and Hoover, where the athletic director's office, we were on the second floor, and we only had like a corridor on the second floor bows, office, secretary's office defensive coordinator across, and then the nine coaches were no one had an office by themselves. I mean you shared offices with other coaches my first year there, we shared three coaches shared an office in. So we're in the tight. Tight confines over there. We had a meeting room. One meeting room is all we had little bitty defensive defensive meeting. But it was it was tight then you'd walk by. The ice hockey arena Joost, and then there was a cinderblock building on the footprint that we're on now was that building block one story, cinder block building you walk through the door..

"So thirty Stu thirty three strong years into that into that forty year to season at that gives me chills when you say that because it at that resonates in it's so powerful. Yes. Well, I mean, how Brad he, you know, the piston name, and you know, Michigan. I guess it really hit home when we were at an event as far as with a charity events. And we saw I saw us me. Desmond Howard across the room. I said that come on. We gotta go take a picture of me, man. So he willingly said you. Okay. Let's go over here. You know, how some kids maybe a little reluctant because he's not a really a, you know, let's take a photo with this one and this one and that one so I kind of had to just come pull pull him by the coattails. And and so we actually stood there patiently. And and and then I told them I said that Mr Howard, this is my son Dax in he'll he's going to be a Michigan, man. And and so they just started conversation, and I just kinda thin back that back and said, you know. Wow. That was just a little powerful moment. Moment. And and so I think he is too hard on you and your staff, and then, you know, his, you know, offer to him and he made the final decision to come the Michigan. We're lucky to have. We're feel like we're drawing the long straw. This is Jack I coach here at the university of Michigan from nineteen Seventy-three the nineteen Seventy-nine on both staff. And that's where our three children, John Jim and Joni went to elementary school junior high school to high school, and we're back now in Ann Arbor living next door to Jim with the with the four grandkids up the hill. But for my wife Jackie and myself, one of the great joys, we get we're sitting at home by four four thirty NAFTA noon in the phone rings. And it's from one of those players back in the seventies. You know, and they're out there, and they have families and they're on their jobs and talking about this experience. And then those that I happen to recruit, you know, to come to Michigan. And there's that thank you for introduce. Using them to this this university and wins and losses and all those different things are certainly in our mind, but not not near as prevalent as connecting with those youngsters that. We had a chance to associate here with at the university of Michigan. Yeah. Paramount that's one that's one. So yeah, we're expecting some big things some great things. And so we're good. We're excited about the future and accident aside mom, the whole family, and so we are anxiously awaiting. Yeah. We know the best is yet to come. Where you come up with him on the first and kinda get him getting my justed settled in. Yes, we will be there. We don't think a two day drive up there rather than trying to in one day. That's when they came on their unofficial visit though in the spring last year, they droll my goal hallway one way when they got here. We're like, oh, boy, it's you know, it was it obviously show they wanted to be here. But it also we they'll make sure the schedule we weren't grinding them into the ground by any means. It was fun. But hey, that's what we tweet here for support back. Then what he wanted to do. So. Hopefully, there'd be more players from Oklahoma come into the university of Michigan. Hopefully, we'll we'll pay pave the way for for more because there's great football in that state. Well, I have one request on the on the first one I get there. I like to have some of those Michigan. Tina Johnson, I will make sure the peanuts are available to you, my friend. I right. Thank you dare continue. We'll see you on June. First looking forward to seeing you be will take care. Bye now. As if dad was asking the other day, what we will be why Michigan what stood out the most and my wife, and I we went on visits was particularly for practice. We spent a lot of time trying to be close to the players and listen to the players on the sidelines. The players recruiting for you more than anybody. And they're talking, and they don't they forget that people are around, and they will talk about coaches talking about players talk about king and Michigan players love in their their their mother. I've never heard of negative were out of a Michigan player when nobody was around. And we've heard that I'll schools so there's just something different. You know, it's. The concept of the parent looking in the rear view mirror when their kids are staying behind it school, and they're leaving them for the first time or maybe the kid that's in the river. Amir being left for the first time. But we've never actually talked about your experience both as the student. But also you go to three times as a parent. So let's go back when you went to bowling green for the first time that time that you eligible for the first time that you were you probably left home. You know, what I when you say that I hadn't really thought about this. But when when I went to in the first grade at Saint Jo's of elementary school Catholic school we didn't have kindergarten. We didn't have preschool when you have all that we firm. Grade. I mean, you went to school, and it was an awesome experience. I remember, it's I really thing. I can remember in growing up going into that school. My mom was with me. She was holy my hand. And I went into that classroom. And I mean ear all these kids, and you know, you've been around kid, but this school and there's desk, and there was a non and she was dressed in a habit. And when she had an awesome, and she had a ruler a right by the desk. Let me know what my experience was going to be like, but I walked in. And I used broke out crying broke out crying. And my mother had talked me down might have had to stay there for fifteen or twenty minutes until I got composed. But that was my first day, and we're it's in the same town, but it was going to school. I mean, it was a total new experience and then flash forward to graduating from high school and and getting a full scholarship to bowling green state university. No one in my family had ever go on to school very few people in our tone at ever gonna. School that I can remember it wasn't any window trail blaze. Why win I did this and I did this. I mean, they they actually coached the players while they're while they're out there. They take the time to stop the stop play to tell them. What they you know, what they do in that situation. Yeah. That's a fouling..

"Ready? One two three. Ro ro? Down the stream. Hey, I'm after this podcast. I am now. I would last few weeks. I'm never gonna watch curling the same again after the curling analogy from the recruiting podcasts. And now, I'm never going to hear that song the same way. Again, it's going to make me things gonna make me think about a little bit differently philosophy. That's part of what Jack talks all about to get you to think into maybe think outside the box a little bit, right? Exactly. That's what we're trying to do weekly. Check. That's incredible. I mean that is the hairs are standing up on my arm. That is absolutely incredible. Thank thank you for that. Thank you. We're going to be seeing that with our kids totally differently now. Right. All of my daughters are hearing that tonight. We're going to be thinking that when we get home tonight. We have a few tweets that came into directed towards Jack a couple from Gail van Brian. She tweeted in I think I should start. Everyday listening to Jakov enthusiastic addition of Isaac Zimba. Anyone who hears it not to smile, and there's some truth to that? Because when you're dead, those Isaac Zimba. Zimba? It definitely does light up a room. And then she also mentioned. I love the Jack talk about meeting presidents. I bet he is stories about crossing paths star some other sports entertainment. I know he speaks at a number of events. Maybe share the best of those also would love an episode where Riley cream joins Jack. And we have talked about that some. I mean, he's your here's your biggest critic isn't he he is he listens. Every every week. And he's he's a little. He's got got a little bit of the creed. Harpo? And he will tell you. I mean, you're kind of how to go. And you want to hear Papa it. We really went. Well, but what you ask him that question. You're going to get something you're going to get a teak about something you said or maybe the way the show went or how it could move a little smoother. I want up on four part harmonies. That's what I want from Riley. Good. I thought it was thought. Harmony part was really good. Your explanation was was outstanding. Thank you. And there's a lesson for Riley there. Hey rally row your boat. Got a lot of scornful people out there. Right. That's the point there. That's that's the way. Everybody tried to tell everybody else. What to do? We could. We could we could kind of that less kinda. Yes, we could kind of bring the scribes and pundits. In those out there that the doers of deeds might have done them better. We can kind of put them in that little song to just one point. I wanted another point. I wanna make last night. I had one of the great treats. Al Glick, whom we all love and just I better person that God's ever put on earth. I met him. I want. I want to meet him before path, but he is such a gentleman he invited Jack and myself a little Jack to the the basketball game. We were able to sit down next to John line watch this great Michigan basketball team play and two hours of just pure joy. I mean, we had a chance to talk and I'm looking down at the six year old and we're communicating to six year old really. This kind of talking back and forth and talking and they start to play the Michigan too. And he gets the fist bump up there. And he singing the song. And and he's the official came over during a time out and handed him the ball and said would you do me a favor and hold this? I won't need it for a little while. He talked back and forth. The guy was the Fisher was fantastic checks. Hold onto that ball. He's not going to let it get away. The official goes over to the table. And I know he's looking over. He's holding the ball and he comes back. He's okay. I need them. All now and Jack and gave him a perfect bounce pass. I mean, he didn't hand it to him. And he didn't he gave him a perfect to hand bounce pass chess past and they got a little high five with one another..

Have you ever had that quickly? I I think probably not to speak coach, maybe you know, it happened over time. But you know, when you know, what's right in a hit, your gut doesn't take long. And that was the thing that I was was truly I was convicted on this. And I have to tell some people know. And I had to tell people I wasn't coming in. It was a hard day telling those people that I wasn't going to be a part of the program because of the previous relationships, but when you feel you know, to convicted inside of this is the right place that you should be the right staff. Again when the story broke this morning that's just an amazingly high number of people to die. It was a duck boat they call it. A duck boat yeah, we have them here it is vehicles yeah there's gonna go on the road and then they can go and you know. The thing about these lakes essentially when you see. The sides you feel safe when. It's, not, like I can swim to shore right No no sixty mile. An hour winds and all that so when I heard the story breaking, and and then I saw it it's funny because I saw it and then I got in my car and I was listening to the Joe and and Jack talk about it and. They, said the exact, same thing I, I'm saying now as you know this is what a weird culture we live in that we have, to put this stuff, on television, watching people die literally you know you could see. It and then watching the waves and, I imagine if I was for it doesn't. Look when I'm looking at it it looks like they're. In the, middle of the ocean I mean the ways that big and it looked so perilous at all it, would take is one rogue wave and it would flip. It over and it's what. Happened Yeah I guess nine of the seventeen people were from the. Same, family and to, family member survived, makes me think of the trip to Cancun like eleven of us thirteen of us I mean you, all take one big, trip l., and something like that happens but I would guess. What breaks my heart though in something, like this is that that obviously the families. And the people that see this watching somebody died like. That you really can't see the people die I mean you just know what's happening what's happening and and I'm, just thinking to myself is it because of the competition Guess so here's the question I. I kind of phrase this and I. And this, is a weird sort of, an eight oh eight oh eight one oh I'd, like to hear from you because Where did I put it here oh you here is it they do they show it so. We'll watch. It, or do. They, show it 'cause we watch it yes I mean it's it's, like? It's just live so we want. To, see it, you know when people say. There's video of it people get on, a computer I want to see the video right if people want to see it well I mean you don't want to start it was the. First thing that I it was a film of the Kennedy assassination and then? The, I'm watching the looming towers and I remembered how many times we saw? The planes how many times? Did your kids like if your kids are like your twenty now how many times did they see the, planes hit the World Trade Center. And. What does. That, too. I'll tell you got in my head for so long. Whenever I, saw a plane banking, in the sky it's wings change? A, little bit, boom nine? Eleven oh. Absolutely you know, because I was right there when it happened I mean that was you? Know Again? On the east coast not far. From, the Pentagon, you know one hundred and. Fifty miles from New York but it, was it was it to me it's still so surreal I don't know if we have any clue about the kind of PTSD that we have. Watching this stuff because there's I think there's some there absolutely they used to?.
