"Guys Minnesota guys and at large team over the course of ten days in Colorado Springs. Those teams played around Robin. It was a nerve wracking situation. It was a pressure pack situation. And as that tournament went on it was being evaluated by her books. Minnesota native her Brooks never wanted to charm school. He was abrasive and intense. He was also the best college hockey coach in the country at the university of Minnesota nipple were afraid of them. He'd always been considered kind of an outsider way of thinking only of doing things and he already had a history with the Olympic team as a university of Minnesota player. Brooks thought he had made the team in nineteen sixty. He was even in the picture. But at the last minute, coach, Jack Riley added a new player to the roster and someone had to go the someone was her Brooks cut just one day before the team left for the games. A crushed her Brooks. The mmediately called his father to vent calls. Holes fix all politics. You've done this. Yes. Keep your keys mush. You get back, thank to coach digital luck who wish team as well. And get your hustle. Yes, sir. All what's the senior bowl the Americans got hot?.

"Hi, I'm Ben Mathis. Welcome to kick ass news. Just two weeks ago. A jury in New York federal courtroom found Joaquin El Chapo Guzman. Guilty on twelve criminal counts, including engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise conspiracy to launder narcotics. Proceeds international distribution of cocaine heroin, marijuana and other drugs and use of firearms. Now the man who reigned as the most dangerous and prolific drug Lord in the world faces mandatory life in prison without chance of parole. Di special agent Jack Riley says sitting in a lonely cell for the rest of his life is a fittingly pathetic end for Narko terrorist who flooded America with cocaine meth and heroin, murdering thousands of innocent people in the process, and he should know because for thirty years, Jack Riley lead the manhunt for El Chapo, and now he's written about it in a new memoir, titled drug warrior inside. Had the hunt for El Chapo and the rise of America's opioid crisis. Today, Jack joins me on the podcast to discuss how El Chapo first appeared on his radar while working on a classified task force to catch another drug kingpin Pablo Escobar he reveals how chop oh cleverly wrangled the cocaine trade from the Colombians how he saw America's growing opioid epidemic as an opportunity to branch out into meth and heroin, and how Chapo managed to run a multibillion dollar drug empire from a Mexican prison that is to say until he one day up and decided that he didn't want to be in prison anymore and walked right out through one of his famous underground tunnels Jack discusses being on the dangerous frontlines of the war on drugs as the head of the DA's, El Paso, Texas branch, how it led to a hundred thousand dollar price on his head..

Somebody saw her on the tonight show interest, just a talking, head guest and said, boil, boy, she's young, beautiful. Tart tongue, juice with SLA, Konak midwest, Bob Newhart. Whoa. Wow. They were perfect. Yeah. Yeah, they were as you say, perfect. I thought you didn't believe in q. ticks? No, it's not important, but what is. Embarrassed don't don't be embarrassed. I had four more years of college you had on. One hundred fifty one. Two. And Gilbert worked with Jack Riley, a more a couple of times in you on the tonight show. I never actually worked with him direct. Oh, you remember he used. I thought she was erected with him. He I, I ran into him there. He looked like the guy in the HALE Bopp comet Cole. So weird. He looked like that. KYW exactly like them. So he had a resurgence and it's here. Oh, he was. He was always there. Yeah, no, Jag talk rally was one of those guys who was always bubbling up. You know, when the when he died, I wasn't able to be there. So I wrote a little test testimonial and was really just a sort of semi onic list of all the roles he played and it. It was read by someone and they said he got really good laughs, good sentimental laughs. Just recalling the roles like angry man and sport coach. All kinds of those. You still get mail Peter. Do I have this right from the fans of of of the Newhart show? Well, you don't know if they're fans really. They're upset people living in towns. "Charged with. Seventy, three million dollars with the. Counterfeit sneakers that is unbelievable see that's how you. Get busted that's also how you make a lot of money but, you know if you had two, or three million dollars worth maybe you could move them now but, the, guy's got seventy three million dollars? Worth and people like wow how'd you. Get all those thinkers dude They did look like. The real, thing but these shoes. We're, not going to. Help you. Be like Mike a bust a big bust of fake air. Jordans coming into port newer, five people now charged with trying to smuggle in more than three hundred, eighty thousand pairs. Counterfeit sneakers that's Seventy-three? Million dollars rhythm issues don't have the trademark logo on them those. Were apparently to. Be, added later in Brooklyn and. Queens that's the way to go you know that. White collar crime well maybe it is it is I think I, think you do go to a, federal prison I don't know about that but it is interesting that, you, know that Seventy-three million dollars is? Unbelievable All right so much smuggling not even white collar crime like a kind, of what's going, on with metaphor now that's white collar crime all, just pushing, money adds but anyway point is that much money and, fake, hair George W three million dollars bellio just gave me this this is during the commercial break these. Shows these TV shows about to read to you have all they all. Have one thing in common they never won any EMMY awards. Batman is one of them. Isn't that, crazy that never got. An, EMMY Star Trek. Would have. Gotten about that Star Trek about price but Star Trek actually. Wasn't even a hit show, when it first came on NBC I think it was NBC right NBC The Brady bunch never one and that wasn't. Hit show that was, a, hit show here's Lucy never. Got wow an EMMY that's crazy but that was one, of the incarnations of the Lucy show that was one. Of the older ones where Mr.. Malone Mahama Malone boss oh yeah yeah that's the crazy bought the Vernon Shirley never wanted to an EMMY. Surprising there was that is really. Surprising good times Norman Lear is politically charged sitcom nothing leave it to beaver no Emmys and here's the most radical one here's the, one that I it has got to be a mistake the Bob Newhart show the. Bob Newhart show the one where he's New England no Bob Newhart that would happened Never ever won. The original one or. Up in the seventies I was never, one I don't know what, the hell one I guess Mary Tyler. Moore Mary Tyler Moore, was not the, same, we're on. The same our Preceded, or followed the other well she won. Twenty nine zero that's. Unreal That was. A, great show the Bob Newhart. Show yeah Backed right when. I was at FOX eleven one of the, great things and when I used to take people through I used to point. This out and introduce them are makeup person every night the guy, who made up the talent for the sixty early. Show, or I guess they only, did late show there Bryan his name is Jerry cash and he was a makeup guy on the Bob. Newhart, show the one you're talking. About the early one. Yeah And I just couldn't ask them enough questions about. You, know like Bill Daley the guy who played yeah by Bob Newhart and Suzanne pet he just, had great stories it was. Great it, was, I mean it's it's weird but. Like to me like I didn't grow up in this town so it'd be sitting in a chair and the guy who did the makeup on this show that I grew, up watching was doing my makeup, was really really cool I used to tell him. That all the time yeah that was that was one of the great shows of all time and and the great actors great writing on that show, and yet no that show never. Won an EMMY it's crazy to think about, some of that dialogue Newhart had to sell it with that deadpan kind of. Like the non-reaction reaction who is the guy on there Jack Riley, remember when he played Mr. Carl my dad was. Very, good friends with Jack Riley, I think they went back to Cleveland together and Jack Riley was always over at at our house like. Barbie Jack Riley was there and I thought that was pretty cool and he had a wife ginger and they're like the nicest people in, the world you know they come, in they knew everyone's name they want to know. What we know what we're doing they said at the kids table you know instead of at the adult stable Oh wow Pretty cool I remember that, Jack Riley I saw him a couple of times at voiceover auditions, at ICM and I had the same feeling that I was talking about with with Jerry, which was oh. My God that's. Jack Riley he's a. Big guy very. Funny. Guy yeah did you ever run into Ernie Anderson when your voice?.

"Well, when my mother was five months pregnant with me, she didn't know she. She thought she had the flu because she didn't have repaired. And the doctor said, no, you're pregnant. So she, she wasn't even aware. She was pregnant and she was like, damn, I wish it was the flu. Yes, she kinda didn't want me right she she was very dependent on her mother and her mother died of breast cancer. And she told me when I was a kid I asked, why did Cindy my oldest sister of middle name and I don't. And she said, well, you know. But you were conceived a few months after my mother died and I felt guilty for having sexual relations after my mother died. And you reminded me of that. Oh my God. So that's why I don't have the middle name and I cried. All right. All right. I don't have a middle name because I reminded her that she had sexual relations after. Wow, that's really good. Will you won this ad off. Okay. The next one is antidepressant of the week. So something that you did this week that actually made you feel kind of good or not terrible? I do. They make me feel good. Like a good moment to good thing. Good. Something that I've done, things that make me feel good. Think I gave something to someone something charitable. It's funny because it's actually so hard to answer this question because we everything feels so mundane all the time that if you ask someone what was good that happened this week, generally people can't really answer that. And even me like I have time to prepare and think about it, and I still have to really. Well, mine is going to be getting to have you on my podcasts and I've never said that this. Alright, it's not like I do this from. I know this is good because I was kind of I'm kind of podcast it out and go God and. This is going to sound funny because you're not going to believe it, but it was an excuse to clean my apartment. Oh, well, there you go here even though you're gonna go. This is clean girl. And you should have seen it earlier. Yeah, I know your mom didn't give you a little name now. Well, I was talking about on the show that came out this week that the person had on. We were talking about not really appreciating where you are in the moment and like when you were twelve, you know, if you could look where you are now go my God, so cool. And so I was saying that I have a hard time doing that. But for me, this is kind of one of those moments where I'm trying to be aware of how wonderful this is. Because I when I was watching dumb and dumber, I had no idea that one day I'd get to chat with the guy at the phone booth who was so fucking funny. And I also like when I was about thirteen or fourteen, I started watching Seinfeld. I never felt like I could relate with anyone or anyone. Got me. And then when I was fourteen or so I started watching Seinfeld, they went, oh my God. These people, I get it. They get me. And so it's cool to be talking to someone who's for Seinfeld in but on the show. And yeah, so I'm trying to kind of keep that in perspective to go. You know, that's pretty cool. Yeah, I just things like some people I've crossed path with same thing with me working with the late Jack Riley from the Bob Newhart show the late Charles turning from dog, Dave to noon. One of my favorite movies here. Oh, yeah. So Peter Boyle from Alba chino. Right? Doesn't help Pechiney. So yeah, just those moments to really very special. I'm actually glad that it added the segment and because I'm really cynical, I always see the negative of everything, and I never look at anything in a positive way in. So adding in this segment, I was trying to get a little positively because generally it's just I hammer down just the console and again, I think's terrible. So this is nice..
