"And she did this. I think largely for Twitter, she told Steven nesbitt of the athletic who wrote about this that she put the odds of winker receiving this pizza at 0%, but it worked and the whole thing was sort of live tweeted and it became a nice story and the delivery drivers and ranjit Singh. He was in touch with dill and he did it. He delivered the pizza to gate 6. He handed off the pizza to a security guard and the cards, then did like a baton thing, a relay race. They took the pizza to the Clubhouse, winker got the pizza, and Sophie Dale, thanked her for the pizza. So this is quite a story. And I probably also would have put the odds of weaker receiving this pizza at 0%. Oh yeah. Would you have thought there was any chance that if you just brought a random pizza to a ballpark and said, this is for, I mean, I guess the odds are maybe almost better than if it were a home player. Maybe if you're a security guard and it's a visiting player, you're like, well, it's not my job to protect the visiting players and I don't want to deprive them of their beats or something. I guess it is your job to protect them too. I don't know. I just would have thought thanks, but no thanks, right? You know, it's the thought that counts nice gesture, but we can not be just bringing food to players, like if this were to become a thing, if everyone else were like, oh, this was cool. Now I will do this and I will order pizza for my team's players all the time. That would probably cause a bit of a headache at the old ball game. So I am surprised that this worked, but it did. So credit to the guards credit to the delivery driver who received, I think, hundreds of tips from the public who were appreciative of his efforts here. Cool. So that's a nice little bow tie. Yeah. This weird base brawl story. Base brawl, man. This is why we need my feelings phone booth, you know? Gotta. Yeah. Watch the games from there. Watch them from the feelings from. Yeah, speaking of physical conflict, the story that we'll never die and that we don't really want to die. The tummy fam, Jack Peterson. Well, I think I'm ready to run today. I'm ready to move on, Ben. I haven't is there another? There is another update. There is another update. Yeah, so it turns out, now this update was not instigated by either Peterson or fam for once, but on the Chris rose rotation podcast, Atlanta relievers, Tyler Matt sek and Josh Tomlin were on and this topic came up and Tomlin divulged and met sick divulged that this was going on for quite a while. So Matt zik said, this was going on all last year. What? Right. So Peterson was with the Atlanta magic was with Atlanta, so these guys got a front row seat here. Matt took said this was going on last year, so we would hear about this in our Clubhouse before this ever happened. The biggest one is when we went to San Diego at the end of the year and he literally did not leave the Clubhouse. What? The Clubhouse because he knew Tommy family was out there and tell your fam wanted to slap him and beat him up. And so he just stated inside the Clubhouse didn't take BP for three days inside the cage and then would come out for the game. It was fantastic. So the whole club has everybody knew this and he thought that fam had left the league and like he was good to go came out and then yeah, fam still wanted that. So according to magic. Lion low here for months and then evidently thought the coast was clear and little did he know that Tommy Pham was still lurking biting his time just the long con here. So how about that? You said you were ready for this to die, but are you? Okay, first of all, I can't believe that they missed an opportunity to say fantastic instead of fantastic that indicates to me that they are not punctures that isn't surprising, but it can still be disappointing. So that's one thing. The second thing is, okay, maybe I do want to know more because I know that we have had the facts laid out. We have had the facts laid out in what one could argue is excruciating detail from multiple sides. But I now find all of the explanations for the amount of force and feeling and longevity in this story to be somewhat wanting. Like, was there other stuff that happened between these two? Is there some epic story of the draft night for this league where jock Peterson took too long every single time and then ended up auto drafting any way like why I can not account for I know it was a not small amount of money and I know that Jack Peterson seems to have miscalculated the degree to which he and fam had a jokey fun relationship. But I really just think like if you are honored the impression that another person is that angry with you, you're going to hide out in the cages, that's the solution. You're not going to try to send a representative to the opposing Clubhouse to be like, can we broker a piece? Can we make this right between us? Because it seems very, I just think that everyone should go to therapy. I don't know, man. This is so weird. It's just so long to hold on to the stuff. It just.

"Yes, the step last shirt has a few stats in it, and they're all Easter eggs for effective listeners. So there's a two 47, which is the famous Chris Davis consecutive seasons batting average. There's a one O 5 in there, which is Ryan Webb's total of his record for games finished without a save. And then there's a 1422, which is Barry Bonds 2004 OPS and was also Sam Miller's bike lock for a while, possibly still is his code for that. So that's great. And the shirts range in price and they also range in color and design. I think they all come in small up to three XL. I think from what I saw the how can you not be pedantic about baseball T-shirt is available in a broader range of styles. So I think there's just your standard unisex adult T-shirt and then it looked like there was also maybe a women's V neck and a hoodie. And something else, I think. Yeah, there's a fourth option. Yeah, I think there's a children's T-shirt. If you just want to, I don't know, get your kids beat up at school. You want to identify them early as, you know, people who will have an adequate number of friends. Yeah. It's a good way. I've seen some people say I've sort of identifying fellow members of the fan graphs effectively wild tribe if you want to wear these out and about or perhaps to a baseball game. Maybe people will say, hey, you're one of those. I'm one of those two, and you'll strike up a conversation. So that's nice. And you can introduce people to the podcast and if we do well with these, if people buy them, then we will make more. I'm sure we have other design ideas that we want to do. We have the tenth anniversary of the podcast coming up. So we want to offer a broader range of designs and also colors and maybe items as well. Maybe we can get some effectively wild mugs made at some point, but yeah, if you want to see more options, then we should sell out all of these. So please help make that happen. And as I said, there's a 10% discount for Patreon supporters. So if you're not already one and you're planning to buy one or more of these t-shirts, you could probably sign up at one of the lower Patreon tiers and it will pay for itself with the 10% discount on this merch. So that's out there. Check the show page for the link. I assume that these things will go fast and I don't know how long they'll last. So go get yours. If you want them for yourself or as a gift for that podcast person in your life. Yeah, go do that. All right, so in baseball and podcast developments. So like minutes, seconds maybe after I posted the last episode. Never a great feeling. I post these things often late at night when there's usually not breaking news at that time. But just after I posted episode 1856, which included a lengthy explanation discussion of the ongoing Jack Peterson, Tommy Pham, fantasy football dispute slap story. And just after that episode went up, our friend and friend of the show see Trent rosecrans of the athletic posted some Pulitzer worthy reporting about this saga and just effectively wowed fashion brought Mike Trout into the whole thing just when we thought the story had settled down and there would not be further developments. It turned out that this was actually still a developing story and it was developing in directions that I could not possibly have anticipated. So some of you may have heard because I had just posted that I reposted it, reupload it with a quick little intro noting that we had recorded prior to that news. Some of you, if you downloaded it immediately, may not have heard that. But here we are reconvening a couple days later to discuss this latest development and I'm almost apprehensive about what will happen next, but we'll come out after we finish this discussion. Who knows? Maybe this actually drove a stake into the story. But Mike Trout, it turns out, was the commissioner of this fantasy football league. Who knew who could have guessed we had heard that it was all Padres or largely Padres or former Padres and Jack Peterson and reported that Manny Machado is in this thing Eric Hosmer is in this thing will Myers in this thing, but clearly not just Padres because Mike Trout not only in it but the commissioner of it and Tommy Pham took him to task issued a verbal slap of sorts to make drought and his handling of this whole dispute about stashing players on your injury reserve. Try to do terrible job, man. Fam said Tuesday, trout's the worst commissioner in fantasy sports because he allowed a lot of shit to go on and he could have solved it all. Yes. He did say that femme said this with the hint of a smile. Yeah. So maybe that's important to know. But yeah, he had harsh words there. He did say nobody wanted to be commissioner. Yes. I didn't want to be the fucking commissioner. I've got other shit to do. He didn't want to do it. We put it on him. It was kind of our fault too, because we made him commissioner. Nonetheless, taking trout to task one of the maybe universally most respected and popular baseball players, controversy free. Yes. And he gets roped into this whole slap story somehow. I just did not see that coming. And apparently, this is also from sea trends PC contacted trout to apologize for disclosing his role later. So he felt badly about it and I'm going to I'm going to quote now. I'm going to quote now from this piece. Try out what have preferred not to talk about the kerfuffle, but the angels had previously organized a press conference for Wednesday afternoon. This weekend, the team visits Philadelphia, which is near drudge childhood home of Melville, New Jersey, several reporters have traveled north to ask trout about the homecoming. Trout pronounced himself excited to play again at Citizens Bank park and elated about the off season moves of his beloved eagles. He was less thrilled when asked about fam's comments. I ain't talking about fantasy football trout outside. Then in a sheepish but genial fashion, he proceeded to talk about fantasy football. Trout indicated he had spoken with both fam and Peterson. He chalked up the slap to the heightened emotions brought forth by the thrill of competition. Everybody's competitive, he said, everybody loves fantasy football. Who doesn't? He added Tommy, everybody who was involved in that is very passionate about fantasy football. A lot of people put their hearts into it. I do too. I lost that leak. Trout was less forthcoming about the particulars of the argument waged by famine Peterson, the initial charge from fam was that Peterson had illegally stashed him one on the injured reserved and picked up an additional player. Peterson countered that fam was doing the exact same thing with San Francisco forty-niners, Jeff Wilson, junior, fam indicated Tuesday. There was a difference between what was allowed on id's pan's fantasy football app and the leak's own codified rule. The commissioner, declined to adjudicate, did Peterson as fans suggested break the rules, I'm not answering them questions. Was Trump surprised the story was entering at 6 day in the news cycle? I think you guys are dragging it on. Yeah, I don't know if it's just us. It's also time you fam. Oh yeah. He restarted this whole story, but yeah, trap said it didn't the past. You guys just keep dragging it on, but it is a legendary fantasy league for sure. Oh, yeah. He did have one good line. Which was when people asked him if he was going to be the commissioner again in this league. And what did he say? This is from Andy McCullough. Trump declined to comment on whether Jack Peterson violated the rules of the league. He said he's unsure if he'll resign his commissioner for this coming season. Every commissioner I know gets booed, he says. Right. Yeah. So trapped in that fan the flames here..

"It was March 26th. Okay, so I guess that he didn't necessarily have an opportunity in spring training. True, yeah. Because you know, if you're going to engage in a planned reactionary slap, which would a funny sentence that is. But you should do it strategically. It just should happen during spring when normally. It's the sustained anger about this, you know, the Will Smith. How much money could it have been? It feels like it has to be. It must have been a lot, but it has to have been a lot of money. It seems like it must have been an awful lot of money. Right. Do we know who won the league? I do not know. I have not heard that. No, but Will Smith's response as inexcusable as that was. Here we are talking about the actor Wilson, not the judge or sketcher. Yeah, or the picture. We actually have, we actually, right, we actually have to clarify in this situation. That response that was maybe over the top and out of proportion to, but it was, I guess, more understandable in that it had transpired seconds earlier the offense. Sure. And also maybe the offense was more understandable for having prompted that reaction. This was something where he just had to be simmering about this for several months. That's the thing. Like, I get that reaction maybe in the moment, but how do you just sit on that for that long and still maintain that level of anger? Yeah, I saw an item from a march post at gaslamp balls, the Padres blog that said fam said during last season, he was open to a one year reunion with the Padres and knew he hasn't played as well as he should have played with the friars, but then, according to Dennis Lynn, he was asking for the Padres to give him more than what Jack Peterson got from the San Francisco Giants post lockout, which was 6 million. I did not see the original report from Dennis if there was one. It doesn't link to the sourcing there, but if that is true, if I love the idea, I'm just going to pretend that was true that fam like held out for so long because he wanted to make more than Jack Peter Sims making because of this grudge that he bore for Peterson, but I don't know if that's actually true, but I was amused to read it. So I guess the lesson, the moral of the story is to watch your words around Tommy Pham, be careful what you say, he did, end up getting more, he got his 6 million, which is, I guess, the same as what Peterson was paid last year, but more than he's being paid this year. So that's some solace for fam, I guess. But yeah, just be careful because I don't think he even apologized post slap. Peterson sort of apologized or at least read his text where he had apologized, but fam did not really. He accepted the suspension, but he looked like he was still pretty heated about it when he was explaining what had happened. So the anger does not seem to have faded. Yeah, interesting. What complicated? Creatures we humans are. You know, I've carried silly grudges about stuff. You know, I've carried the intense grudges about very silly stuff. I haven't slept anyone, but there are parts of this on all sides that are extremely relatable. And then there are parts of it that are not like having enough money to have it be worth it to be this heated about fantasy football for one thing, or actually smacking someone. But I've had, you know, I've had I'll admitted the weakness of having wanted to. I just haven't. Done it. So, you know, again, there are parts of this where you're like, yeah, tell me I get it, or yeah, Jack, I get it, but then there are other parts where you're like, that's weird. So weird thing to do. Well, in better news for the reds, they took two out of three from the Giants this weekend. I even saw some quote about how maybe the Giants were distracted and just from the aftermath of the slap. So that said, I hope no one takes the lesson that there is a competitive advantage to slapping someone before the first game of a series so that the team will be so discombobulated that they will not play well. They were going through the sweep and then the reds bullpen blew it and they lost the Sunday game. But since starting three and 22, a historically terrible tied for the worst ever start to a season, we have not updated how the reds have done since then and in fairness to them we should. The reds sit starting three and 22 are 13 and 9. Oh. Which is tied for the 6th best winning percentage in MLB since then. They have outscored their opponents by 32 runs that is the third best run differential over that span after the Dodgers and the Red Sox who have kind of turned things around too. So how about that? We talked about the reds when they were at their nadir and mentioned the fact that they had not been projected to be a historically terrible team that they had projected merely to be a mediocre team and since then they've actually played well and I guess the answer as it's so often is is the first kind of team or are they the second kind of team probably somewhere in the middle?.

This was a doubleheader games. So Adam Wainwright throws a complete game, which was seven innings, giving up one run on three hits. The two teams are in the middle of Game number two and the Braves lead by a one. Nothing score. Quantum Kim on the mound for the Cardinals is giving up one run on two hits in three innings. Reds lose to the Padres 32 as they had Luis Castillo on the mound. He did this might make Brewers fans feel okay. He pitched pretty pretty wet. It's not just the Brewers that he beats Castile and not they beat, but he pitched well. Six innings, three runs, two earned on six at seven strikeouts, three walks. He does, however, take the loss. And the Pirates lose to the Indians by a 21 score standings right now in the National League Central, the Brewers and the Cubs. They are tied atop the division with a record of 40 and 32. Cardinals are 3.5 back too early to be three or four back, depending if they win or lose that game. They're playing right now. The Reds four back and the Pirates They are sitting 14 games back in the division. So this continues to really be a four team raised in the division and the Brewers and Cubs so far have been the class of the division as far as the Brewers minor league affiliates. Triple A Nashville playing at Gwinnett Nashville, wins by a six to a Scorpio. Double a Biloxi, They play a doubleheader at Rocket City Win Game one. "I was so high on him as everybody was, but I felt like that's the career Cub Hall of Famer and now both of those things, there's a little bit in that. I mean, he still has the whole thing. Path just has to pick up where he left off. Let's say 1918 17. But he's not gonna be a cub, and there are some doubts about his injuries and stuff. I'm with you. This mean, I don't even think you mentioned you're mad, And I mean, this is all things in the World Series winning manager pushed out the door. So it is not ended in any sort of good manners. All things do come to an end. But what you could have done it one win another one or sort of slipped this in the right direction meeting. Okay, You gotta get younger. I gotta find some pitching and use some assets to do that. You know, Trade for Branden. Speak. You know it None. Nothing good has happened. It's all those sort of negative starting with, you know, the failures of 18 and 19 on the field mad and leaving and all these little things adding up And if they don't sign by his life term and or result, just add that to the list of Face what exactly has gone right for this franchise? I guess they found the next decent manager. I think we all like David Ross. But after that doesn't feel like the last one right in the last 1 to 3 years. It just I'm perusing the the ESPN Major 2021 Major League Baseball Farm System rankings for all 30 teams. And this is after the Darvish train. Yeah, and I see the cubs coming in at 22nd right now, like I guess you could improve where you are on this list. If, in fact you got a nice haul and return for Kris Bryant or Javi is somebody else but Like I'm not even optimistic about them finding quality young players to fill all of these gaps going forward because it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of anything special in their system. There's another name. We used to hear a lot about Jason MMA club part of that tree. All right, Theo, Jed and Jason and McCloud was gonna be a GM candidate. All this stuff. Now he's been for gotten because of all those poor drafts where they weren't able to sort of find those nuggets in the 4th 5th 6th 7th round that many other championship caliber teams have done. So, Yeah, it is not worked well in the draft, and that is forced him to spend a lot of money, especially on the mound. And now, all that sort of coming back to haunt them right now, And I asked you if you know what's gonna happen in July. I mean, he is really going to be up against them if they're three games out or four games out. But only a few games over 500 because we know the division's not great. What does he do in July? I will bet you guys I will bet you in most years in that situation, he'd be buying. He'll still be selling. I can't imagine there in any other mode in July rather than self, because if they don't sell, they're gonna be left with nothing. Come 2022. Yeah, it's unbelievable. Jesse Any other nuggets? We need to know. Before we let you go. Well, Are you excited about Jack Peterson? Because I don't think we've talked about. I'm think we've talked since since they signed him up. He is different than sure. Ah, little bit a little bit that the overall numbers are the same. But I will say, Hey, strikeout rate is lower, and he can hit a high fastball better than Schwarber. So if you're saying it's an equal mix, equal trade Well, maybe he does something the team needs some high fastball strike out but less Maybe he won't do something that former brought to tail. I'm not sure what but neither one is hit lefties in their career, so I don't know if it's a wash. But here's my point is the offense any better than it was six months ago. If you're on Lee, relying on walk your type stuff, you know, meeting big years from bias Big years from Rizzo. Well, you're crossing your fingers because it's basically the same offense right forever for for Peterson, But maybe that's a big enough change. I don't know. All right, Jesse. Thank you Take care. "Washington Just 9.8% wins the division. Okay? And Miami. Ah playoff team. Mind you last year has a 0.0 John Blue tar ski like chance of winning the division. Now we go to the NL Central, The Marlin. Things fair. I mean, with the whole pandemic. They've missed the whole bunch of games. They got hot at the right time. So that's that. That's who they are. Let's go to the NL Central, who do they have winning the division? I kind of did the Cubs should, but I'm thinking they may say ST Louis The Milwaukee Brewers when the division three games clear the field, almost four with 88.8 wins and a 55% chance of winning the division. The second place team in the NL Central actually has a better record than the White Sox. They are the Chicago Cubs. 85 wins. ST Louis finishes under 500 with Molinar, Renato. All right, Well, that's just nonsense right there. That's just nonsense. We'll see how it plays out all. Come on, stop it! Come on that I told you, I said, because the divisions bad and because the Cubs office and found money for Jack Peterson team that was poor, a team that was ghetto. They had nothing. Almost. Suddenly they found money under the cushions here to pay. Jack Peterson. I said this division, the Cubs could actually still make the playoffs. I still believe I will actually put that bat down to the Cubs will make the playoffs this upcoming season. But Milwaukee's one What do they do in the off season? Not a lot. They got Colten long, okay? I don't get that. So I'm curious how fans feel about this stuff because people pay attention again. The games are played on the field, not nitpick OTA world, but everyone always in the baseball world looks forward to Pecota standings. They're usually pretty good. Not always. I think in all five they underestimated the White Sox in O Six. I think they overestimated the White Sox. Well, they shouldn't know they were they were. I think the number was fair No. Five. Nobody knew the Sox would win the World Series and No. Five even Sox fans would tell you that right? All all the all these guys, these guys out of different Teams and they're just peace Million team together and no ideas. Kappas suddenly would be that good or or Jermaine died. They had no idea the pitching would come together The way didn't know five. No way, so but according to what you're telling us here, the Cubs will have more wins and the White Sox this season. He strikes out a lot of those half strikeouts in his past. Is he going to start in the Cubs outfield? We don't. We don't know if I would think he would be maybe, and some kind of platoon deal. "This is White Sox weekly on ESPN. 1000. I'm Conner. McKnight. Give us a call 3123323776. We've had a lot of player movement in the last shoot 48 hours. Not all of it's necessarily going to affect the White Sox their ability when the A L Central, but some of it has affected American League teams. One big move last night. I think it's still technically reported. I haven't seen the and to be honest with you. I Hoping for the show. I haven't seen it. But that doesn't mean it hasn't been official. Yet. It sounds like Nolan Aaron Auto is going to go from the Rockies to the Cardinals for a box of oranges and money, So that's good for the Cardinals. And good for them in the NL Central. Not so great for the Rockies because when you lose a player of that caliber, it's it's never good, regardless of the situation. We've been talking a lot about Jack Peterson, though, because the L A Times report by Jorge Castillo linked Jack Peterson and the White Sox, and I think it's really important to mention this. In the report. Castillo wrote yesterday. It mentions that the White Sox and Jock Peterson's interest was a while ago, right? Like some weeks before Adam Eaton even side The request from Peterson side as it seems, Was playing time. Full time kind of stuff. Peterson struggles hitting left handed pitching struggle might be putting it lightly. He did have a better 2020 hitting lefties if he was the 1 12 weighted runs created, Plus the career weighted runs created plus for him against left handed pitching sits somewhere around mid 55 mark, though 60 games. Anybody can kind of do anything on by. I'm sure that Peterson wants the full time job. In the outfield, regardless of the spot, but wants the full time job in the outfield so they can you know this is this is a pandemic economy right for baseball players, too. He's 29 years old. He takes the one year deal has a chance to get something a little larger longer, You know? Hopefully that's the path for Jack Peterson has his career is concerned, but I think the white socks and I think White Sox fans would agree. The defense that Adam Angle brings you and his ability to hit left handed pitching and.

"New home of the White Sox. Conner McKnight is with us. He filled in for water all week. Wanna will be back on Monday and Connor's as you just heard and what to watch for the host of White Sox weekly and your white sex pre and post game shows with Len KASPER on earlier. Talk. It's a baseball big picture and Jack Peterson Signed a deal with the Cubs. He's going to be there left fielder very similar to cow Schwarber at least offensively. And then there was a Sox note to Jack Peterson is well, but from what we understand it's one year $7 million deal. I think there's an option for For another year, at least a buyout and let's bring in Jesse Rogers on the Corona hotline to find out a cap is reporting to that the Cubs have found new money or that like jet, his Has talked Tom Ricketts into giving him some more money. So let's sort all this out. What's going on, Jesse? It's like, Ask your dad for a bigger allowance. Right? Good afternoon, guys. Yeah, I just did. A little assume had had a couple drinks, so hopefully this will go well. You know this Friday, five o'clock, right? You know, it's interesting. Couple of 20. Wait a minute. You're a couple of drinks in. Is that what you just said? We didn't If you're supposed to be a professional we did in the ESPN Chicago reunion soon. So you know the guys, um Roman was on it. Jon Greenberg from other people, So I had a couple of you to his doom with friends. You have to have a couple pops. Right? So I did so awesome. That's movement. Not too many did just To distort this report. Here's what I think is going on with the Cubs. If we take a step back, if you know there's that thread the needle thing, right re boot while trying to compete in the first portion of this offseason was sort of the reboot. We're gonna dump salary dump salary. Uh, let these free agents get a little antsy. And now comes the time with her start picking guys off. I do think Peterson somewhat came out of nowhere. From what I understand. Maybe he fit there. Their budget. In the moment, people ask about four reverses Peterson. Well, Peter said. They're very similar. Peterson makes a little bit more contact, and he's gonna make $3 million less. So maybe the Cubs made out a little bit. Remember when Schwarber was non tender guys that came before Darvish was traded. So all these things are happening at once. You don't know that You're going to get rid of that Darvish money. You have to get rid of shorebirds money. Perhaps. Then you get rid of Darvish. Now, maybe we can re spend a little bit. I do think there in that spending mode at least a little bit Takeoff, Peterson. Then you get a picture or two and we could talk about seven. Donate those days they're scouring the market. For by low pictures as well. So here's where again? This is real difficult. I want to start the conversation with you guys for Jed Hoyer. He made his team better today, right there back to having a nice left handed slugger in the middle of that lineup. They can compete in this division. We know that. But man, this feels like Jed Hoyer is on track for a 1997 White Sox red white flag straight, right? I mean, our how competitive are they going to be this season? We know it's not going to be world seriously competitive, but it probably is divisional competitive. This is one of the few times guys I'd say Look, getting in is all that matters. But maybe not so much. We've seen what's happening. 18, 19 and 22 of those three years they got it, and they weren't nearly good enough to get to the world. Syriza's so it feels like Jett's gonna be in a real pickle Come to lie unless they're really bad. Or shockingly, really good. And at that point, if there's somewhere in between, what does he do? Four games out of first place? He's got Bryant Rizzo Bias Kimbrel Peterson, Davies and a few others on the last year of their deals. I think that's an interesting dilemma for them. It absolutely is Jesse. I think asking the converse of that is unequal way to answer the question, because Jed Hoyer has a team that's on top of the division but needs some help toward the trade deadline. How does he acquire it? And if the answer's there are well, you can't give any up up any of the prospects that you've gotten from the Darvish trader. You can't give up any of the young line early kids there because they're contributing. Now, if the answer is they don't really have a way to add to the team at the deadline. Then you've kind of answered where they're planning on heading in the first place. That's what I'm saying is real interesting, and they talk about and feel it's talked about in check every season. This sacred if you're in first place you can't just give up on that season, right? They've shown in the past that they will go after it every single year, but Jet's been talking like You can't really do that. Every year. We get some point, you have to come back. So that's why it's just real interesting. I know he wants to give David Rossi competitive team and in that division basically right now they be competitive. I still think the Cardinals are gonna end up being the best team I was told early in the off season. That Wainwright Malina were given a wink and a nod. Just be patient. We'll have some money for you later. You kind of wish the Cubs have done that with Jon Lester. They didn't do that. Wainwright Molina Going back there. They're gonna be the favorite. What may be expanded playoffs happen, or just the fact that Cubs they're you know, are good enough to compete a little bit. I don't know what happens in July with all those guys that are on the expiring contracts. You know, I talked to someone associate with the team, and obviously they were trying to spin it in a positive way. They said Look, he could still do the retool and compete. They could still trade Chris Brian July 31st step. David Brody start the last two months. And maybe still compete, So I don't know about you guys. I think he's Maurin still mode and yes, April 1st. It's going a little look more competitive than it did a few days ago. But come July. I think he's selling unless they shocked. Everyone just have like a 91 team. You know, sort of in the making. Jesse was going to say is this one step forward and then there's going to be the two steps back because There's still the Contreras rumors, so they I mean, are they and if they were to sell, I asked this to counter earlier about what the Cubs plan is, is if they were to sell Contreras, are they selling controls because it's smart baseball or because they want to get rid of the salary and replenish the system. I think for planets the system now the salary. Getting with salary doesn't hurt either. I will say that back to promise about trading. I do think there's a possibility between now and spring training that one of those bigger names could still be dealt. I think everything is still on the table..

They shot 38% from the field. Ain't gonna do that. By the third race home coming to Phoenix did not go well. One of 11 come on four point something. Here's.

Gambling problem Call 1 800 gambler and thank you, Jeff Dickerson and Jesse Rogers and the little bit of news I would give you a good source just confirmed to me at the break a few minutes ago that the Cubs Jed did go to Tom. They met and Tom has kicked in more money and the payroll has gone up now. It's not like they're going to try and sign trouble by Trevor Bauer. No But they did find seven million for Jack Peterson this morning and they're not quite finished with this team. Then that's something seven million out. He really had him and your gold. Bob. Bob, Bob. Bob. Guys. I don't know what to believe. I really don't. Well, here's what I know it. Really. We're gonna split up all these appearances. Now look, you're you're going to take the Southeast side. Now I'll take the South side one of these appearances because a couple of stars they're both going to the playoffs. Carm, you take the western something, I'll take the Western. Alright. And you and you take Glenview. That sounds so so she gets my cut off flying that lets my cut off by the answer's coming. Still hates her stuff. So I got the rest. I got the rest, so he's got the red. All right. So when we do these appearances now we got two teams in the playoffs. Two teams. Wait a minute. I thought that comes at no money. Where's the money? They found some in the old Starbucks. You saw? He told me. Where is the money? They really Hey, You know what happened? They didn't short games today that they should have been shorting out like that. You know? What do they really have No money. Wait a minute. That's possibly be biblical proportions. You got no money, but you got you didn't have any money for Lester. But you got money for possibly area and definitely for Doc Peterson area to what's area to gonna cost sand. Not a lot of good area for a song right now or five million. God bless her First song is throwing today for all the teams that Lester for a song. You're saying he said he deferred. Going on that you don't like they wanted. Laster, York. Where is the money that you had no money. There's always money there, guys, but you run the corporation. You're not going to run the thing down to zero. You know, you've gotta have cash reserves. Okay, But let me ask you something. German planes didn't want Jon Lester, much like when the Bears made that token, crappy offer to Brian Urlacher, better like it was done. But maybe the Cubs feel that way about John. I'm not saying he is. I'm simply saying maybe they felt then why not? Just call him up at the end of the season? Go, John. You should look for another team. We're going in a different direction. Definitely did not do that. I mean, no, no. They told him to wait until we move more money. And then we will try and come back when Jon Lester bought Miller Lites for everybody in Wrigleyville. Remember that sort of these four bars? I'll buy a middle lights. That was him in essence saying goodbye was not. Yes, that's amazing. Thank you Got up. Thank you. Chicago boom. Then, after why, you know you don't want to leave the office. You don't want to leave your locker. You know, I'll leave the clubhouse and you're like, Wow. Hey, how about one more ride? How about one more? You know, America around stopped. We've turned the power on that. The guy that got on the miracle around he's going home. The conductor of the miracle around. He's going, it's over. It is over with Jon Lester. I would go back to where it is, you're from and enjoy retirement. While he's gone, there's still gonna pitch She's gonna go to He's in Washington. He's excited. Yeah, it was great. I didn't win the game winner ever seen me with Sylvie and Connor yesterday? Yes, yes, great. He's a 20 game winner, 20 game winner. I hope he does. Well, I can't wish good things for John West. I'm just saying, I mean, Cheez, Its 30 starts on the team is like, Yeah, I mean, you know if he gets to 10 it was a good year. Alright, Who's doing the Wrigleyville the over there and also Buffalo wings and rings blanket and allocated for $34 over this money up. Here we go. Playoffs comes in socks, appearances. She loved it. Just look at the books like, Wouldn't you really love to get a behind the scenes Look at the books and no and just to kind of know, like You a we needed Jack Peterson. I don't get Nelson Cruz. I'll take Jack Peterson. I said that at the start of all of it, I I like Jack Peterson. Find enough. I mean, what I've if I'm the socks what? I've kicked the tires on Jack Peterson. Yeah, I said it three months ago. Absolutely. I mean, there are very definite flaws and holes in Jack Peterson's game. But in that ballpark on the South side against right handed pitching, I would have taken John Pete for $7 million. I absolutely was signed up for what are some of his holes. All right. First one is terrible against lefties. Okay? I'm he strikes out a lot. It crushes writing. He crushes writings. He strikes out a lot. I mean, he's strikes up 3% less than league average. Jack Peters. Pretty good. Yeah, I would have thought it was higher than that is a modern day ballplayer, though. Oh, yeah. I mean, he he's gonna hit the ball into the shift a lot. I said shift. I mean, he's that guy. I mean, he's gonna hit 2 20 every year, Right guys. I mean, that's what he's gonna hit. Now We know that that's not What it meant to what you say that 1986, he said to 20. He can't even play in the big leagues. We know it's different. Jack play, even though he hits 2 15 or 2 20 Sure, there's value in Jack Peterson. Absolutely. You can ignore the 1 90 from last year, because you know last year was that there's a weird year on K Did seize it. Then you always hear grumblings in the Cubs aren't any good. You're not good will be the playoffs. Well, in Cincinnati standards, gonna win the division that divisions no good. No walk, won't Cincinnati. They traded their closer. They lost their number One started there trying to move Sonny Gray. That and no one got it. I got the wrong red team..

"So the Cubs may get Jack Peterson not official yet, right? Not official yet pending a physical, But that's the word Ken Rosenthal reporting that this morning and So it basically that's Kyle Schwarber's replacement, I guess well and Peterson women, he's Yeah, he's now fielder outfield Left handed hitter. Yeah, he's young guy 28. Not home run hitter, So maybe maybe he's possible. Lead us Got some power, Does he? Yeah, He's got some power 36 homers two years ago at home run in. I want to say Game five of the world's Syriza's the Dodgers this year. But he didn't like a lot of guys. He didn't put up his best numbers on the pandemic shortened season, which is unusual. We'll find out more about him, including why his nickname is dizzy. So that I don't know, but but he actually it's interesting because early on, it was thought that he was gonna end up with white socks. And now he goes to the Cubs. Apparently, the Giants were As of a few days ago look like they were going to sign him, so apparently he's got to deal with the Cubs. All right. Well, let's Ah, I'm surprised you dead. They hadn't asked you about consulted with you lately I've been hearing about is you know this one? Go on that one. Go on. Lester's going So nice to have.
