"The hour he's too sweet to be Sour folks. He's my partner and longtime colleague at blogging. The Boys Mr Tom Ryo. Yeah and you can follow him on twitter at Tom Rail. Bt Be you know we're still within this pandemic we're still going through the covert nineteen protocols were still you know kind of stuck in sheltered in our homes and there's nothing much to do but talk cowboys talk football and the cowboys are getting geared up for the NFL draft that is going to most likely be virtual now Sound like it's almost definitely gonNA be virtual the best official guidance from the League now Everybody goes home. You know and you know you can't associate with anyone else. I guess except Your own family. Oh Gee yeah so to set that up because you know Mr Plyer here Mr Tom. Tom Rile To set that up. There it's Kinda funny. Little rumor going on around twitter the twitter world. You know the Cesspool of social media so much fun to crawl into sometimes and there's a little there's a little rumor and Innuendo that some teams in the league. Find it unfair that the cowboys will be drafting with both Jerry Jones and Steven Jones in the same room because of cove in nineteen. They're allowed to be together because they are indeed family. So what do you make of teams calling foul and say an unfair to the Joneses from being able to be together during the draft was? It's to me. It's Kinda funny because as you know. The Jones family has taken a lot of Slings and Arrows about what they've done and you know whether they're good or bad and all that stuff and it's just funny that now people going. Oh wait a minute. This is a horribly unfair advantage for father and son to be together working on the draft which I guess I could see that and you know I think the I think the way they oughta just finesse. That is eastbound be sitting there with their laptop in separate rooms but where they can see each other. This would door and they're grounded. They're grounded and they had to go to a separate rooms. I think go ahead. Yeah I think the bigger problem is a lot of teams. Have to be worried about how good some of these Dm's and are with the whole of virtual media thing you know I guess it's going to be done on zoom and now people are panicked about getting hacked. And they'll you know I guess you. Can you just imagine it being like a grumpy old man Jack? Lemmon Walter Matthau Reference. Where they're just like sitting there like What what you know. It's kind of funny to think what happens if you know. The League office suddenly get's three different selections for one thing. I imagine. There's GonNa be some hiccups. There isn't anything I imagined. Trying something for the first time with a bunch of eighty year. Old Owners is probably going to be a little bit A little bit funny and Gunky the mechanics are going to be interesting to who actually makes the pick for attain. You know Like for instance. I see that with the cowboys they could. Well tell will mcclay okay. You're going to be the point man in you're going to actually make submit the pick just to make sure we don't have any glitches or foul ups If I were them I would make will. Mcclay make the picks anyway because he has the Scout. Yeah but you know I can definitely see them having the discussion but leaving up to him but imagine something like. Oh say the raiders. And what if you've got GRUDEN? Who's doing this and all of a sudden you know? He's just basically all by himself and he decides to go you know roof harvesting well with the raiders and with Jon Gruden The rumor and Innuendo at them as he's already gone rogue so it's not anything that they're not used to has of right now so maybe just maybe That will be okay with them. With the Raiders. Because they seem to just bring up but bring all the status reports and bring the draft board together and then he comes in and says I don't know man I got an idea here and they just go with whatever he goes with. So yeah. It's John Gruden's team. It's the Las Vegas Gruden. So that's that's what they are now but anyway back to the cowboys it is an interesting situation the NFL draft this year. Because you know we've talked about it last week that the team's not going to be able to have thirty visits they're not gonna be able to bring guys in a lot of what we've heard so far is that the cowboys have been interested in some prospects. Tom and they're doing the mostly by phone call or skype interview. It has to be and I think it's happening on zoom as well just seems to be the default platform that the NFL is doing. And the cowboys have released excerpts from the interview. Justin Herbert the quarterback and Oregon The quarterback from Oregon correct. Yes And then they also interviewed The Edge Guy Zac Brown. Whose Zach Bon Bon. I'm sorry yeah. Learns from just Kinda snuck out yet bond from Wisconsin. Who is at a really interesting name because he he caught a looks more like a standup edge. Rusher But you know we've got Mike Nolan and get Jim Tom Soula and we've got the linebacker guy was apparently involved in the interview. Linebacker coach. So it's you're starting to think. Well maybe the cowboys have some thoughts there and are looking at what value he has so is an. I've seen a couple of ideas out there. Maybe he's one of those trade back targets Quite possibly you know so you know if they do seem to be interested in chasing The the pure defensive end Who is another guy? That's very unique. I didn't article about the round. And if you look he's he's worn for reference for reference real quick. We're talking about the edge Russia from LSU folks Jason. Yeah and he is one of those guys that a lot of people see in that kind of eleven to fifteen range But that's with You know a couple of quarterbacks You Know Herbert being one of them. being just kind of outside of where Dallas picking. So you've all of a sudden got a couple guys that could be overdrafted and you know teams. Don't always you know. See things the same way so all of a sudden you you could see. Maybe you know they've got a plan and a fallback plan if they're looking they're targeting chason may be even looking if they have to to make a small move up three or four spot or something to get him and if that doesn't work then all of a sudden maybe bond becomes a trade back idea. Yeah and you know the the cowboys are obviously going to have interest in guys like you know. Cj HENDERSON THE CORNER FROM FLORIDA. You're going to have You know interest in Christian Fulton the corner from Lsu there are GONNA be. There are lots of little guys like that and defensive. Tackle Giovane J von Ken Law. Sorry he goes guys are all kind of in that Shay. Sahn range that I think the cowboys are hoping you know you always hope for the best but you you kind of for the worst because you don't know if you're going to be sitting there and kind of wiped out as to the you know the prospects that we've all been talking about for some time now. The Safety Grant Delta has started to fall in draft in the draft prospect. He'd almost certainly be there as a as a possibility. And let's just say they decided okay. Maybe we're happy with the free agency moves on defense which we're GonNa talk about a little bit and They decided to look Jerry. Judy or something yeah or CD. Lamb or if one of those wide receivers are right there. And you know there's a there's a small gathering lead up by our you know. Let up by some cowboys. Writers David Hellman and others. That are like team. Forty Burger's what they call it. Yeah and they and they wanted to draft a wide receiver in the first row. And you know there's depending on where you are. If CD LAMB is on the board I find it hard for the cowboys to turn that down when you when you think about what kind of type of talents are going to be there and it comes down to what you and. I talked about last week Tom. You with the draft being such a unique situation that the cowboys all these teams these thirty two. Nfl teams are in this year. That it might be like you know. You're going to really have to trust your spouse and trust the tape on you're not GonNa get you know. Read re-test for these guys you're not gonNA get rejects and things of that nature other than what you can make happen within the realm of coded nineteen outbreaks. Yeah you'RE NOT GONNA get should discuss. Yeah yeah the whole trust. The tape thing is just all of a sudden. That's all. Yeah you've got a whole new. That's a whole new meaning accounts. Yeah and you know. You're limited to these You know interviews online which it just isn't the same as bringing a guy in and getting a read on his body language as demeaning and everything and all meet somebody whether somebody's telling the truth to you or not over a a video call. Yeah it's really really interesting so definitely very interesting. I think that I think that we should spend a little time before we go to break. Though Tom we should talk about some of the positions. Were looking at in second and third rounds. I think that most people kind of have a consensus that the cowboys need a cornerback. They need to replace Byron Jones. Tom You know you would think that the cowboys probably feel. They do feel somewhat comfortable with what they have in place in. These new coaches have to feel comfortable because they hadn't gone after any free agent corners. Which by the way. There's a lot of corner on the market still. That seemed kind of the cornerback in the NFL is taking the route of the safety and the NFL. The past couple of years and free agency where people are just kind of waiting to see what type of money to expect from these guys and kind of keep in the market. Pretty slow right there so you kind of think that the cowboys might be looking towards a corner we've talked about from Lsu Edge rusher possibly because you can't just put your eggs in the basket of Randy Gregory and Alden Smith who we will talk about in our second segment. You're just kind of Tom. Where where are you at third are are you? Are you one of those guys that says you know? I'm okay with any position in the first round. Second Round third round or do you. Kinda have pinpointed on which three you would like to target. Yeah I used to be a big. You know best player available guy. But the I've come to realize that that's kind of a mid off based on your team lacks and how you want to build things you gotta be looking forward with it and you know so you know if the cowboys were to come in and suddenly the best player available is a A left tackle or a quarterback..

And the worst one is pineapple express where he James Franco's place donors throughout the whole movie. Sandy McBride, Danny brides funny. I like Danny McBride. He was an eastbound and down a good show. He was in another movie industrial before that that I enjoyed as well. Can't remember what it was Google during the break, George and Marlborough, you're on New Jersey one and one point five. I think the funniest movie written producer by belt books were they have to put on springtime for Hitler. He wrote the producer. He actually worked where he used to seduce little elite produces place. Very interesting story, but any line in that movie classic? Have you ever love me room choice? I mean, it's just not a whole lot of moments. Even if you've seen have is a nervous breakdown when you lose this booth like in about every time, you see laugh, I have to say Georgia's is not the first person to call and Mel Brooks movie history of the world, that's my favorite Mel Brooks movie the meddling Kahn. She's in a lot of Mel Brooke's Mugello young Frankenstein, another good when she with Madeline Kahn. But when Moses and he comes down the mountain, he's got the three tablets, and he says, I give you these fifteen and then he dropped the tablets and it cracks and he says these ten commandments. That's fun. It indicated there originally God had given him fifteen commandments. But we only have ten of them because Moses dropped one of the tablets so your man's. Splitting the joke. Bill. Will. You didn't seem to get it. I got it. It's funny. Sure. Mike in Pennsylvania. You're on New Jersey one one point five. Yeah. I get to. But this one is really only with a TV show after the original movie, Jack Lemmon Walter Matthau yacht. Couple have you ever seen that? I have. It's hilarious rewind is funny. It's like every line in that movie is hilarious. It's real signed. It wrote it, and then what do you what do you think of it? You'd like it. Yeah. No. I enjoyed the odd. Couple. Yeah. And then the other one I don't know if you remember this is another Michael Keaton movie Ron Howard directed. It was gung ho where they turn the rust belt factory Japanese combined and Michael Keaton is stuck between the Japanese near bosses and the the American George went George went places, buddy. Now, that's a very good move. I'm a big Michael Keaton fan still the best Batman, by the way. Sure. What I mean, he's oh Christian bale, but you don't even like superhero movies. Don't get an opinion. Okay. All alright, which Batman movie have you seen Batman begins and dark Knight dark. Knight return. Okay. Others problems. So you've only seen Christian bale as Batman you really have no point of reference never saw Val Kilmer. You never saw George Clooney because it's like if it's this good why go to other sources because Mike and Michael Keaton was the original Batman in the movies. When Batman was big. And Michael Keaton was huge. I mean, you stratosphere I mean alias star. Why are you laughing at this is all these are true facts? Okay. Michael Keaton is the best Batman you mentioned the odd couple if we could circle back to that that was number seventeen on the list, and let me go over this. Here's the top ten. Airplane number ten and the graduate which haven't seen in twenty years. It happened one night. I've never seen mash number seven. I've seen that six blazing saddles. I've seen that five duck soup. That'd be a Marx brothers. Okay. From nineteen thirty-three any home than Dr Strangelove from sixty four Tootsie. I mean, I like Tootsie, but the second funniest movie ever, I'm still reeling. Over them thinking the graduate is funnier than airplane. Some like it hot is number one from nineteen Fifty-nine Billy wilder you ever seen that now. Yeah. Me neither. I mean. I know they dress in drag. It's Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon just ever really. I never thought. I'd really like to see those guys dressed as women then. So I never saw the movie, I we're talking about the funniest movie of all time in your humble opinion. Pat on the Parkway, you're on New Jersey one zero one point five. Hi, hi. I think the funny movie is we get it Bernie or they drag a dead body around. The second one. And I just think money every time I see it. Bernie's guy is about to confess. I have never seen it. "A tattoo artist named Nino convinced Steph curry to sign his name, basically his autograph onto his leg. Last week. Nino has many tattoos so blend right in he's like a full sleeve guy. Both arms both legs. He says that other than his kids being born. It was one of the greatest days of his life. Now, let's say you have to. Get someone's signature tattooed on your body, and the person will administer the signature just like curry did for Nino whose signature would you agree to have tattooed on your body? And you can't say no one you're you have to accept one. I guess it would have to be wants. So you'd be branded. Well, I am brand yet. It's interesting because you think I mean, would you have anybody but Lisa signal. But here's the funny thing Lisa has dared me. Did you ever you may be too young for this? Did you ever watch Laverne and Shirley? Oh, sure. Okay. She do you. Remember, a Laverne? Head penny. Marshall had a gigantic L on all of her clothes sherve. And remember Lenny from lean scree stole the L once and wrote lone wolf, right Ackerman. Right. But but Laverne had big L's big monogrammed ELLs on her Kothe. So he said dared me wants to get an L. And I said, I'll do it. Let's go choose. No. You wouldn't really Doug? I'll do it. Let's go. Let's go. I will have a monogram to LA from Laverne. It's you're actually going to do it. And she backed out. She backed out. She backed out. She was she was. Oh god. No, really shoes. You really you? Do it. I go. Yeah. I'll do it someplace where you can't see it. But I'll do. What you would do it? I'll do a big L for lease on you. I'm sure let's go. She goes. No, no. I can't make you do it like she got all defensive like when I agreed to do it. But that's the only thing I've even considered as sitting. That's the only signature I can think of that. I would have put on me as once Greg has VIN Scully tattooed on his body. I think it's a little weird. Do you know great now that you're older? Do you think it's a little weird? Yes. I do. I mean, he was I got two years ago. So Vince, I working for us. Yes. And you had VIN Scully tattooed on your body for your work for us. Correct weird. What was the motivation for that? They were in. It was they had just beat the cubs in the and going to the World Series was even still working for the dodgers. He was still I was as he was done. Right. It was his last year that was the whole thing whereas all ending and then. Yeah. It's weird. I by the way, I don't need a name. The Charley Steiner signature is even weirder chart. That's that's a bit. That's the difference lie. Did you get a Charley Steiner? That is excellent in the field like to sit on Joe. Then the fact you got Charlie actually himself is unbelievable 'cause you like to sit. What What do you do have? you have it? It's Charley Steiner. Do you really want me to tell you? What I have Charlie Steiner. Why do you hate him? I still don't think he says that said the score. I never know this Charlotte game. I don't maybe as a person like he's a perfectly fine guy. I just don't like him as a play by play announcing. Yeah. You guys are in your own on that one. I think Charlie's good. I heard a rumor somewhere that he might not jokes. I you want me to read the response to that rumor that's Ramona. She'll know. We're here that promote. Whenever I go to a game. John Rams game USC games. There are still guys who stand around outside stadium saying buying tickets selling tickets. Yeah. Everywhere and selling in the age of Seat Geek, and stubhub, and TicketMaster. What exactly are these guys doing? Well, like what's their market? Okay. Last year we landed in New York City. I was on a trip with the Lakers. And there was a a I said when we got here earlier than we were supposed to and I looked up and I said, I could catch a Broadway show. And as you know, Steve, I love me a Broadway show. So I decided to I'm on my phone when we're on the bus from Newark over into the city, and I see that the front page the old Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau..

"Well, you know, it's hard to say the because so many shows have failed like the the big firm model shows really difficult to make they've made shows in which the protagonist was a supreme court judge those failed because what judges do is just not interesting enough in England, though, there's a very popular show discussed in our book now in which the protagonist is a judge. But he's a super aggressive one. He's fighting with the government all the time. He's really struggling for Justice out there. And he. He doesn't he cuts lots of corners. And he also has a not so nice personal life. And so they've succeeded in actually creating a judge character who's really interesting to the audience. And I think that's a great model. We had a judge show here. Judging Amy that actually did quite well. And so it shows you can make a show about a judge and make it fun and interesting. So I would suggest to producers, and they take a look at the English show, judge John deed. See if they can make something like that here. I think it could work, Tom. Do you think? Lawyers are impacted negatively by television. Well, very much by movies, particularly in the movies just about every lawyer. You see is horrible. I mean, I think Michael Clayton, for example, recent movie, very well made movie starring George Clooney in which every lawyer was each one more disgusting than the other on television. The lawyers are pretty negative on the whole and since people my my point here about fundamental point is that we are always affected by the popular culture, we consume every one of us. And of course, the less, you know, about lawnmowers the more effected, you are because you don't have personal knowledge to counteract it. When lawyers are showing in a deeply negative way is unethical crooked disgusting sleazy in their personal lives. Then that's what that's what the public believes. So I think on the whole lawyers are negatively affected by why television and even more. More. So by movies, lawyers were always depicted generally up to a certain period of time is very positive, and then the mood changed very much respect to film around nineteen eighty the mood changed totally and starting with pictures, like the verdict devil's advocate a number of others in the eighties and nineties. I've counted I've tried to see them all and I in the movies. I'd say about two thirds of the lawyers now are very negative portrayals. But before that two thirds were very positive portrayals. So there was a big change, and it reflects what was happening at the same time at the same time lawyers really fell off the cliff and a respected profession became hated and distrusted, and that's reflected in the media. Which is no surprise, I suppose the first time is when the lawyer was. Telling his client pretend he was still in the wheelchair. That's the fortune cookie. Exactly going with Jack Lemmon Walter Matthau kind of ahead of its Stein. That's from the early seventies. See that was the first time though, the lawyers then were looked at as being a co participant in in very criminal behavior. Right there. They're always have been mob, lawyers and things like that you can find them back in the film Noir days. But I agree with you that the fortune cookie, which is as I recall in the early seventies, very very negative about lawyers. But it was still an outlier but starting around the late seventies in the early eighties. The the verdict with Paul Newman being a really important early example of this. You see lawyers being portrayed as sleazy unethical unprofessional and terrible people. Okay. You're gonna come back here in two years. We're going to this date in two years. You're still gonna be UCLA. Tell us what has happened to movies in the law in the past two years. All I see more and more sleazy disgusting. Lawyers in the movies, you do more and more lawyers on television with bad attitudes. Yeah. That's that's what sells right now. Hey, you know, what you have a lot to do. It was really nice of you to come. I I appreciate it very much and lawyers in your living room is a book honest to goodness that you should get. I'm not kidding you on this one. You've been listening to champions of Justice with Tom Ronnie, and Jim O'Callaghan our guest today, author Michael Azima. And usually at the end of the program, we try to come up with some sort of a a witty saying or a quote, but you know, what it occurred to me as we were getting ready for the show that nothing that we could come up with would be even close to what you had just had the opportunity to listen to you know, from what you've heard about our guest passion for the law and.

Dr Dolittle nutty, professor he made Bank on us. So it looks like we're not doing other one of those. He is going to star in a new version of grumpy old men that was a nineteen Ninety-three comedy. Starring Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, and Margaret I love that movie. Really? Yeah. Because I really enjoy Walter Matthau. And and both those characters from bad news bears days. I always love Walter. But yeah, I really liked that I love old people movies. So it's about to longtime frenemies who live next door to each other. And whose rivalry heats up again when a new woman moves into? Is so hot too and Margaret. Yeah. Ann Margaret still alive? Right. Yes. And it's been twenty five years. There's old well, Jack Lemmon. Walter Matthau are both dead. I'm mike. You said that with a question, Mark. I was not a statement. So they were probably because she's I feel like she's been all my whole life and Margaret. Yeah. You know, it was an actress back then she's seventy seven years old. Oh, so she was only fifty two or three. She's my age. I don't know. Yeah. Well, she was like a to me, I always think of Elvis when I think Ann, Margaret. Anyway. So Jack Lemmon Walter Matthau. We can we confirm they're both dead. No official word on any other casting. But they're saying that Sam Jackson has been mentioned for the neighbor. So which I think would be great to be really funny Jackson. Yeah. And. Sam Jackson and Eddie. I don't have who the woman who moves in would be. Yeah, they're both passed away. There is is it me or Eddie Murphy and Sam Jackson, not old enough to be on grumpy old men are they it's I'm so much older. Now Fifty-seven he seems to young what he's definitely taking good care of himself. Maybe doctors helped along the way to maybe is sixty nine. Oh, my is. He really he's old. A we have got to treasure him more all mean that guy. Keep going using great shape though. Sure. Absolutely. So I guess they'll make them look a little older. I mean, the wonders of Hollywood makeup. I anyway, that seems like a fun thing. And I love Eddie Murphy. I love him as donkey so much in Shrek. I know I'm nichole levels trading places all time God forty eight hours Beverly Hills cop all classics. Yes. You usually I was looking there's another story that says there's a different guy involved with this. Oh, no. It's not gonna be some Jackson. I just have whatever the TC has reported probably from late yesterday. Maybe there have been developments hot casting, you guys grumpy old man the redo. All right. Britain come back. I like Julie Chen time. This is great. You're gonna be able to page him. Now, whenever we need breaker breaker. Good, buddy. Come in. He is. He just appeared. I think they both have to be open wasn't open though. That's what I mean. Oh, you mean the delighted? Nope, ever open. Yeah. Oh, so you didn't ask it to say. That'd be touched you. I'm not sure I don't know. Well. Need to experiment with it. And we'll try to get it down to a science. Julie chen. She announced her departure officially from the talk yesterday. We had heard she was going to be doing a pre taped goodbye. And that is what happened. She didn't know she can walk in and the way they took to the to the air. In her absence was Mr. moon base doesn't care about the little people. I don't want to stay on forgivable because I don't necessarily think that Julie's in the right, or, you know, I don't know. I'm not trying to take. But to go on and be like, please God save our jobs in the face of her and her adversity that that wasn't friendly. It was not super. Julie. I you know, what I mean, it was it was not like you'd think after nine years on the show. It's easy. You come on. And you go we love Julie we've worked with her for nine years. We love her about the producers I care about the crew and I care about. Would say the little people. So. She wasn't even going to come in to say goodbye after that. Yeah. So Julie announced her departure with a statement that they played right at the end of the show. So was there any commentary want isolated shorter? Yeah. Yeah. I don't wanna hear her. No, there's nobody worth playing. I saw after they played that clip Sara Gilbert Gilbert came on and just said, I created this show because you know, women's views need to put the LA LA LA. And and that was it. It was like it seemed coal hold on. So you're telling me Sara Gilbert came onto say, by the way, I created this show. Basically was there. First of all, thank you so much. At the words, I created this show as a place for friends to come together. And I know I speak for all the hosts when I say, we thank you for eight years of deer friendship and for all that you did to contribute to the success of this show. We love you, Julie. And to all of you. Thank you. And we'll see you tomorrow. Called at the end of Julie speed spring. She she mentioned is everybody going through there at the Marian to what's her. I keep. Sharon Osborne in Sara Gilbert, Sara Gilbert, like one line everyone else. She's oh, blah, blah, blah. And then oh my God. I gotta hear that. Let's hear it. Listen, sometimes, you know, people work together, and it's like a marriage like you really are in it. And there's always differences of opinion. And you know, it it really I always think that on those shows like that they are you know, they secretly. About ryan. And and Kelly. Oh my God. I just feel like the vibe between them as she. She's like, I hate him. I can feel the love the really no no Ryan in God. You're crazy. Digging way too deep. Are we or are? We just doing our job is. Yeah. Surface shall looking at all the little. Sure. We know body language. Listen to us right now. People hate each other. I mean, come on. All right. Go ahead. Sarah. And whatever parts Sara Gilbert. No, I'm sorry. Who's? Sarah. Okay. I'm just saying and finally to Sarah, and Sharon we've been together since day one at the talk. I've spent every day with you both. I will always treasure our friendship. The great parenting advice from both of you and the memories of laughs and all the private jokes that the three of us have shared. We are the original three musketeers. I love you all and I know this show and the sisterhood. It stands for will live on for many, many many more years to come. You. Ladies got this. And I cannot be more proud to call you my friends, right? Okay. It just feels like the ridge enough. Yeah. I were actually from a piece of fiction ways back. Okay. Anyway, she's done. Unfortunately, she's not done with big, brother. That's right. That's the other big headline. It is. The bummer. She will remain host of big brother. She wants to chew on. Got you got it off of their Julie Chen Moonves has we'll be back. She will CBS saying we're not gonna ask her to go away and she wants to stay coordinate TMZ. They don't want to punish her for her husband's alleged misdeeds. So she didn't finish this current season. Which I mean, I thought that was a foregone conclusion, but the plan is for her to return they're actually saying with one big f that's if they bring the show back for another season. Oh, please CBS, please. Don't punish all of us. God please God. Please. I love that show. Don't make it go away. Just 'cause I'm Julie just get someone else. Always find another job. So Scott Caparros is on the show a little later and. Punch tomorrow Friday and Saturday he was at the glad awards last Saturday and brought a little tape-recorded did some interviews. So he's got like Ross Matthews and listen Milano, but he asked Ross about whether or not he would be interested because Ross was on celebrity big brother, and I guess he's so cute big brother fan, right? He does that podcast people tell us, right? So he keep got after him and asked him about it and push them. Got him to admits himself. I fear that it's exactly as we feared which is Scott got there. And then was super polite. Hardly did anything. He's the funniest guy. I don't know why I wanted to be you can be funny without being disrespectful. I think he just clams up. Yeah. I don't know what it is. Exactly. It seems like when he's on a stage under a spotlight with the Mike in an audience. He doesn't care what he says or who offense. But when he's faced it's harder. It is. It's you know to go right in someone's face and say something crass or mean. I mean, he just could be Scott and be funny because he's trying to be taken seriously as a journalist. I don't know that must be it. I I can't imagine why. Anyway, I think he gives us thirty five minutes of audio and we got to cut down to about thirty five seconds. Is that right? Are you serious? I think we've talked a little more than that much. Well, we'll he'll be here. So he can we can put his feet to the fire and see what he has sold. Anybody except for you guys. So good. Insulted US Super to Ross. But Ross love don't give away. All the. Yeah. So that's probably Ross Burton Ernie. Burton earning. My life from the very beginning to your original Sesame Street. Yeah. I know those dude sure, of course, you do. I guess PBS is all pissed or the Sesame Street people. They're like we shouldn't have to keep defending, you know, whether or not they're gay. Because there's I guess this is the third or fourth. And why do they know why would you even address their puppets? Because one of the writers for them just came out and said that he based there everything he wrote for them on his own gay relationship. And I I know I just feel like Sesame Street. Just relax. It's it's fine. It's for kids. So apparently, though people do care about this. Like there are people who are like how dare you put on children's programming. A Geico homophobes, I guess are tripping. So the debates apparently endless came up again yesterday longtime writer for Sesame Street confirmed supposedly that Berkner near gay guys name is Mark Saltzman. He wrote for the show for fifteen years eighty four to one thousand nine hundred ninety eight he said, he can sit so listen carefully though to this heat. He just wrote based on his own experiences. It's not like they got down with. I mean. Yes. You didn't create these characters if he started writing them at eighty eighty four. Oh my God. They were twenty plus years old at that. So I don't know late sixty s so he says what he wrote for them. Yeah. He considered them a gay couple and base them on his own gay relationship. He's a that's what I had in my life. A Burton Ernie relationship. How could it not permeate the things that would take off my boyfriend Arnie would be the things that would take off Burt? He's only saying that he perceived their relationship that way like a lot of people have nothing. He had any secret information from the show's producers. So what he's saying is that as a gay man he identified with them. That's all he's saying, man. I I get that. I'm writing for kids show, and there isn't going to be a hot sexy later. So once the story got out Sesame Street went ballistic again, they tweeted as we've always said this that's not ballistic. I'm being dramatic. As we've always said, Burton, earn your best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though. Oh, they're identified as male characters and possess, many human traits and characteristics as most Sesame Street, Muppets puppets. And do not have a sexual orientation shower together. They don't do it. You know, people started saying, how can you say that the puppets don't have a sexual orientation, MS Peggy is always humping on kermit's? She's drooling are like there's someone with a sexual only the chick chicks are bimbos. And. Stepped in it now. So this is not the first time that they've had to refute claims at the famous PBS characters were gay and oh to the children's television workshop threatened to take legal action against a guy named Peter spears. He was the director of a play or like, oh, I see a parody documentary called Ernest and Bertram. Documentary about two male puppets who become heated lovers. And then TV guide got dozens of letters and o-3 attacking Sesame Street. Condoning homosexual relationship. Their puppets people. Puppets on a kids show. If they are gay. They're not gonna come out on the show. Like, don't worry. I guess is what they're saying. I know it's exhausting. I got kids the the in that window, and I don't think at all about those two dudes and their sexuality I grew up with them. And it never crossed my mind to think about what they were to people who seem to like each other. Even though they also seem to hate each other. Couple. I'll go a step further in that. My kid has a very one of her best friends has two moms, and it's actually been great for us to help her. Learn about different family make-up's because it becomes. No. It's not a thing. Right. It's the easiest thing in the world. So I 'cause she does go through it short. So I have a dad and a mom, but she has a mom, right? Does. Okay. Yeah. Families can be made up like that. It doesn't even like us love it's on. Yep. Getting better mean for all its problems. I don't know. You just told a story about people fighting. You know, at least at least we can tell you about it. At least we're you know, I feel like it is way more out there. I mean, and especially for just the LGBT Q community as a whole like these are issues that were buried for forever. At least we talk about them. Now like to me that is progress and like. Educated people among us, or you know. We're able to explain to our kids or or just make it seem like it is no thing to not even have to be explaining everything. It's just yeah. Yeah. People all kinds of different people all kinds of different families. Families are just a group of people who love each other. The end I'm done. I guess so worked up. What's coming up any the latest in helicopter parenting? It's called lawnmower parenting. I guess on that..

"Up at six forty. We'll talk about whether the accuser will show up on Monday or not the right now Hollywood officially is out of ideas. Eddie Murphy already did a remake of Dr Doolittle the ninety professor how many nutty professors, they do you like fifteen or something like that? And they worked out pretty well for for him. But now he's going to start a new version of grumpy old men. Remember, the nineteen Ninety-three comedy with Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau M, Margaret, well, that's about the we know what the story the two frenemies that live next door to each other chance sandy, well, no official word on any other casting. But rumor has it Samuel L Jackson has been mentioned as Eddie's neighbor. If that happens, a great, it might be it might be. But Dr Doolittle was horrible. Horrible. Horrible. The nutty professor was kind of funny. Yeah. But he got old after the first one why couldn't watch anymore and has anybody seen any commercials or trailers, if you wanna call it for the new magnum PI, I have I think it's too violent. Just the trailer alone is too violent goatee, not a Mustang almost came to tears watching the trailers incendiary what's going on. I said this show is entirely too violent just in this little thirty second trailer. I saw three Ferraris crash. That's is wrong that is wrong in so many ways. And that's just one trailer. How are they gonna kill in this show? You can't do that. That is not right. I am sorry. They might have lost me by killing the cars as fast as they are. I'm serious. Look, why are you wasting such a fine automobile by crash in every one of them because they can t okay? But that's not right. That is to me just gratuitous. It's just unnecessary. I don't care how many people get shot in the show. I really don't. But when you killed fine automobile, like a Ferrari, three of them in just the for the thirty seconds. We've got problems people is nobody going to stand up and say that's just too much violence. You just did. But other than me. My by myself out there. Am I by myself that should not be killing cars like that? As far as your level of anger. I would say, yes. I'm sorry. Bothers me. And I'm really serious. I was good. Oh my God. Oh my God. And he's like what I say they just killed three Ferraris in thirty seconds look away. And couldn't find a junk car to kill. Let's go ahead and get us a nice four hundred thousand one of them is at four hundred and fifty thousand dollar Ferrari, and it gets wiped out in just obliterated right there. How can you do that? Okay. Give me your coffee Cup. No, no, no, no, I'm sorry. But you don't kill cars like that. Not like that. Let's take a Pinto out there blow it up. I don't care, but not a Ferrari, man. Pour more water in the coffee. Anybody noticed the McDonald's change your apple pies? Neither apparently everybody's upset about it. I can't remember the last time. I had a McDonald's apple pie. I think last time I had him. They were frying them in years. According to my wife. Oh is that right? Told me I said, what are you kidding me? It's no wonder haven't had one if they're not gonna deep fryer, and why bother? And now they've changed each we all crest. Now, they put a ladder. And people are just upset and they also change the filling to where there's not as much sugar. It's more cinnamon. Now. What are we just ruined the whole world kill Ferraris mess up apple pies? What is next? What is next? Stay tuned from.

Ten point two million people watch it at all time low for that so excited tonight is the season finale of America's got talent. And actually Simon Cowe has a lot of really cool things that he wants to do with some of the people on the finale, even if they don't win. He's got a variety show in a lot of cool things in mind, you'll have master chef total divas one hour preview of the sitcom. I feel bad over on and next our weary. We're gonna talk about Konya is. Jets home game have you ever seen what they do do MetLife stadium it's pretty, cool I saw behind the scenes tour when I was there They took in a look this is a giants store K. sit back everybody. Knew he heard he knew what was going. On And he just decided. To power right through call their bluff if you will And yet they're sticking, around they're not, going anywhere five five three two three four NBC Brady's coach. One Bill Belichick We've seen we've heard Him numerous times over the course of the years from the mumble Popovich of the NFL or, Popovich you could say Sabella check. Of the NBA anywhere you want to slice it to pretty much. One of the same we saw that old school movie grumpy old men want to say it was a. Jack Lemmon Walter Matthau that's what you get when you deal. With these two players ballot check showing a little. Bit of heart though a little bit of characteristically, we like, to see Says look it's nothing personal when we. Do this it's business and it's a move that has to. Be made all teams have to be to roster limit barren few days a. Week a week so So We all knew that's what we signed up for participated in. This so that's what it. Is it's always hard laws of people that have worked very hard and their families and so. Forth but in the end we have to do it feels Becerra for Bolton tried to Yeah you can eight Bill Belichick all you. Want I. Don't I think those haters out there just jealous the fact is. The patriots every damn year. So it seems did you get did you take away what I did from that hold guys. Accountable yet socks he's at the show is still has to go on thank you Thank you More to. Come here Randall Cobb Packers wide receiver joins us, and say when called in case you. Missed it. That's next it's NBC, sports radio and it's, NBC sports radio. Dot com.

"Packers quarterback will join us coming up here next segment is a Packers. Fall to the raiders in the bay area thirteen to six raiders outscoring Green Bay. Coming, from behind And doing so in. The fourth quarter they are two and on us for We're going to have some parody and still preseason. Blog we have teams just, aren't getting it and teams that are As really undefeated in again. You're only two or three games in you have the ravens The ravens or. A team that has played three of their four already elsewhere coming up on the weekend you. Have, the bangles the cardinals two, teams, that, are, undefeated, that, whether it lasts that. Long, yeah I highly doubt at eight five five three. Two three four NBC is number well. It went down between the giants and? The jets it. Was technically a. Jets home game have you ever seen what they do do MetLife stadium it's pretty, cool I saw behind the scenes tour when I was there They took a look this is a giants store K.. Sit back everybody gives. Us a couple of minutes they Andy's little buttons they press and look like a, JAMES BOND movie where the wall turns and flips and it's got all. The jet stuff on, that side. And giant, stuff on the other side here's me I'm thinking I know seven guys are coming in after, we close and, boxing everything up and storing it, getting everything out. Putting it back up on McMahon especially with baseball that must be just an absolute pain in the butt. To be able to do that. All. The time but you learn quite a bit awesome stadium was out at MetLife twice. Was out there once at Christmas of twenty thirteen so. I picked five times. Still a career high form And the giant. Team. Only crossed the fifty Seattle one time Seattle Super Bowl year but one time they. Cross a fifty dollars on a penalty on a penalty But when the giants played the jets all is of. Course in all the attention is going to be on Sam, darnold look I mean, you gotta start immediate you know the divisions over before you even get started But Todd Bowles, coach, of the jets on what he, saw out of darnold and his development maturity thus far I drives Cortez down we got a good defense that's a, good thing obviously I. Have to watch the tape, and tell you everything. About, pluses and minuses to that point but internal ball over he, did everything with ASI throw the ball away obviously you can't throw a ball away from the pocket penalty bud The most part he didn't, job He did. His job and look Sam darnold that's the main thing you want to see because, rookies make mistakes Lot of them are. Scared, teddy Bridgewater was, eleven of fifteen. Was sacked a couple of times not the most mobile of players anymore anyway after the. Injuries he's let's see he was a little. Over one hundred yards and Darnell was fifteen twenty yards behind him But he. Added, touchdown and that's, an important thing. That Bridgewater cannot say a guy who does have a lot of touchdowns one Tom Brady People, thought he's gonna retire is he ever gonna retire I don't think so we'll see a lot of fight, Neka right But Tom Brady not hanging them up just. Yet in fact he'll do? You one further as. The patriots lost the Panthers twenty five fourteen After his, team and explain why and. That's another side we haven't seen from him either I think anytime you on the road and play bid team you gotta make the place and I, think it's a great example when you don't. And they do and. We didn't do much in the first quarter got behind and you fight. Oh pill all night against a good team it's. Tough to, win so hopefully we can take something from it and get back to work Next time Z doing that interview at his house kind of, sound. Like right did you hear the honking going on in? The background it was the outside sounded crystal-clear like maybe it was. Owned studio I. Don't know let's just assume for a minute that was Giselle coming home with the bag full, of. Groceries Ryan she's out laying on the horn for Tom terrific inside And the fact he didn't let him, face. He knew he heard he knew what was going on And he just decided. To power right through call their bluff if you will And, yet they're sticking around they're not going anywhere eight five five three two three four NBC Brady's coach. One Bill Belichick We've seen we've heard him, numerous times over the course of. The years of the mumble the great Popovich of the NFL or Popovich.
