Jack Posobiec Discusses the Inexcusable Inaction of the Uvalde Police
"On the cutting edge of what's happening and you've all day. I think this is important for two reasons. Number one, we should always care about the truth, always. But number two, I think that it's important when it comes to our gun control debate right now. Because if we look at Yuval day as the facts actually show us, this has very little to do about gun purchasing or red flag laws, and a lot more about a police failure to intervene. What are your thoughts? Well, one of the big things that people need to understand about you validity, and it's actually something that even in the initial reporting. And this is something where I do have to ask for forgiveness on because when this all happened, I was over in Davos, Switzerland, I'm going up and down the Alps, where getting detained, we went to Ukraine. I come back. And that's what I really was able to start sinking my teeth into the details here. Then yesterday, the Texas Department of Public Safety comes out. That's the head of the Texas police and they start releasing these documents based on the timeline based on some of the 9-1-1 calls, the dispatcher calls with the local chief. And so now we've been able to dig through those documents to dig through this hearing. And one thing that I think everybody needs to understand is that this guy Pete arradondo, one of the names you need to memorize in this is Pete arradondo. Originally, the way it was being reported, I think a lot of people had the misunderstanding that he was the chief of police for all of you validated. It's not true. He's actually the chief of police for the validity ci DS, the consolidated independent or CIA SD school district. So he's the chief of police just for that school. That is his sole duty, his sole responsibility, and it's a 6 man force that is directly assigned for the security of that school. They're brought on by the school board, and then that's, of course, working in conjunction with the city council. But this really is a situation where he had one charge and that was the defense of this school. And so when
Joey Sulipeck Investigated for Tweet Against Draymond Green
"Let's talk about Joey solo pack. Now, you know Joey, you were a meteorologist, your weather guy here in the Memphis area for a very long time before switching over and doing the right thing and coming to radio. Exactly. Exactly. I knew joy for I've known Joey for over 20 years. We did not work at the same station, but I would see him at conferences. I would see him locally and he's always been professional. He's the kind of guy that will walk up and ask you and know, you know, your family's name, how they're doing. He's the kind of guy that you want in the market. So he's a good guy. Very much so. So he's a big Memphis Grizzlies fan, and of course, there was a lot going on. It was a pretty tense rivalry between the warriors and the grizzlies. And he wrote a tweet. Yes, he did. And this goes all the way back to May 7th, and this was when the grizzlies were in the second round against the Golden State Warriors and draymond green is a troublemaker on the court. He runs his mouth a lot, he'll push, he'll nudge whatever he can to get an advantage. And one of the grizzlies players had just gotten ejected for the first time that they had mouthed off to the official. Joy writes, chew on this, draymond runs his knuckle dragging open mouth all game long, but mild mannered, Kyle Anderson disputes one call and gets ejected. Next level, Jack assery. That's it. So basically, he was saying the guy's a Neanderthal. Yes, okay. All right. Well, well, the local sports guy for the commercial appeal. Got ahold of that tweet and turned it into this big racial controversy that literally went nationwide. Everybody was talking about poor Joey solo pet who in the aftermath apologized. He should not have apologized. He did nothing wrong, and then deleted his account, he should not have done that. He did nothing wrong.

How AJ Got E! On Board With His Talk Show
"Before I got my show and kind of had the doubts because I told him, I'm not going to be a typical talk show host. I just want people to promote their bullshit. I don't care about the next movie or the next book or the next album. I want to just talk about all different things. And by the way, I have a lot to say, okay? I have things that they want to hear about me. And they all looked at me crooked. I said, I've lived an interesting life. Trust me, I can match these people's story for story. They have a very hesitant. I said, watch, pick up the phone. I dial Jack Nicholson. Jack, AJ, how are you, Jay? You know, I told him at the show. Do you think he'd ever do it? I know it's a lot to ask. Well, if timing allows me, I think I can make that trip AJ, you know, blah, blah, blah. I call Sean Penn, same thing. Coal warm, baby. All right in front of The Rock. Now they know, holy shit. This is not art. Talent coordination branch of the company. This is the host making these calls. We got something good
Jack Del Rio Calls out the Left's Hypocrisy
"The Washington commander's find its defensive coordinator. A man named Jack Del Rio, Washington commanders in NFL team National Football League team. It was known as the Redskins for about 80 years. Until the left in an act of utter irrationality got rid of the name, forced them to. Del Rio compared the January 6th protests at the capital with the quote riots looting and burning unquote that destroyed thousands of businesses and cities during the summer of 2020. This is what he said in a press conference earlier last week. Why are we not looking into those things if we're going to talk about it and why are we not looking into those things? I see the images on TV, people's livelihoods are being destroyed, businesses are being burned down, no problem. And then we have a dust up at the capitol, nothing burned down, and we're going to make that a major deal. Every word he said is accurate. As I said, the Democrats use the January 6th, the way the national socialists as they were known in Germany used the Reichstag fire. As an excuse to impose draconian rule in the country. And not comparing the Democrats to the Nazis. Obviously, I'm comparing tactic to tactic. The question was referencing a tweet he made before the press conference in which he asked to hear the whole story. On the so called protest at the capitol. Quote would love to understand the whole story about why the summer of riots looting burning and destruction of personal property is never discussed, but this is, question mark question mark question mark. Hashtag common sense. Since his comments came under fire, he has since apologized after the team's head coach Ron Rivera issued a statement so sad he apologized. It is so sad.
Washington Commanders' Coach Fined $100K for Asking a Question!
"You see the story over the weekend? Of the Washington commanders head coach. Is that the, that's the new Redskins name, right? I don't even keep, who cares? They're so woke. They can't call themselves the Redskins anymore. So now they're the Washington commanders. So they have a defensive coordinator named Jack Del Rio. He said, in a tweet, he compared. I mean, let me read to you what this guy said and what he got in trouble over. The coach, the assistant coach responded to a story on Twitter about the January 6th committee hearings, and he wrote, would love to understand the whole story about why the summer of riots looting, burning, and the destruction of personal property is never discussed, but this is. And then the next day, reporters asked him about it, and he said, I asked a simple question, let's get right down to it. What did I ask? A simple question. Why are we not looking into those things? If we're not going to talk about it, why are we not looking into those things? People's livelihoods are being destroyed, businesses are being burned down. No problem. Now these are points that everybody makes, right? Do you know he got fined a $100,000 for saying that? Do you know that the head coach of the Washington commanders Ron Rivera proudly announced yesterday or two days ago or Friday? That Jack Del Rio had been fined 100 thousand dollars for expressing a belief that if we're going to be fixated on January 6th, how about we talk about all the riots that engulfed American cities after George Floyd?
Tampa Bay Rays' Players Refuse to Wear Pride Patch: Charlie Weighs In
"Zach from calvary chapel, Chino Hills, love cavalry chapel, love Jack kibs. What is your opinion on several Tampa Bay baseball players who refuse to wear the rainbow pride patches on their jerseys during the pride night, their pride night instead sent out of the game. I fully support it. I do. I think that players pushing back against quote unquote pride night is critical. And we must understand that what you might think of as pride night has changed in its meaning. It's no longer about gay and lesbian, acceptance, no, no, no, it's about something much deeper than that, and also something that is much more controversial than that. It can mean now bringing children to drag queen, bars. It can mean chemical castration of children. That this idea of Pride Month has broadened from just like, okay, I suppose tolerance of gay and lesbian people. And the spectrum that moves from tolerance to acceptance, to celebration, to participation. I must give credit to Matt Walsh for that phenomenally brilliant kind of steps is now that you must participate, you must wear the pride patch. And it kind of goes back, okay, Connor, get the Kramer from Seinfeld. You don't want to put the button on from the aids walk. It's one of this great great scenes in television history. Where Kramer, who's kind of an aloof character in Seinfeld, decides to do the aids walk, but he doesn't want to put the button on or the ribbon. He just doesn't want to wear the ribbon, and it kind of is the same sort of thing where he ends up getting kind of attacked by the mob, albeit kind of very similar kind of the Pride Month aids walk mob where they say you don't support gay people because you don't want to wear the ribbon and it's kind of this joke in the show that unfolds into obvious kind of tumultuous hilarity where Kramer is like, no, no, no, I'm with you. I just don't want to wear the ribbon. I just don't want to wear the ribbon. And they say, what do you mean what do I put the ribbon on? And it's like this back and forth and you must participate. You must be part of this. It's not enough that you tolerate us. It's not enough that you accept us. It's not enough that you celebrate us, no, you must

Washington Commanders' Jack Del Rio Fined for Jan. 6 Comments
"The head coach of the Washington commanders of course they command nothing Put out a statement today that's Ron Rivera About coach Del Rio Del Rio was a fantastic football player He was a coach in his own right It's a very good man as a matter of fact So they need to destroy him So he says at a press conference Something he's not allowed to say He went against the mouse program I believe in equity I believe in social justice I believe in environmental justice I'm a white supremacist I agree with everything they tell me to say January 6th was worse Than the Attack on Pearl Harbor So the head coach the Washington commanders Ron Rivera puts out the following statement This morning I met with coach Del Rio to express how disappointed I am in his comments on Wednesday His comets do not reflect the organization's views and are extremely hurtful to our great community here in the DMV That would be Washington Maryland and Virginia More like the DMZ As we saw last night in the hearings is this guy a football coach As we saw last night in the hearings what did we see last night coach Rivera What happened on the capitol on January 6th was an act of domestic terrorism
Jack Del Rio fined $100K for comments about Capitol riot
"The Washington commanders have fine defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio for his comments about the riot at the U.S. capitol Coach Ryan Rivera says Del Rio has been fined $100,000 after the assistant coach referred to the capitol riot as a dust up on Wednesday tell Rio downplayed the deadly insurrection and questioned why the protests in the summer of 2020 after George Floyd's death were not receiving the same scrutiny People's livelihoods are being destroyed Businesses are being burned down No problem And then we have a dust up at the capitol They're nothing burned down And we're not going to talk about we're going to make that a major deal Del Rio later apologized for its remarks Rivera says the statements were hurtful to members of the local community and do not reflect the views of the organization Mike Hempen Washington

Charlie Presents a Different Perspective on the Depp-Heard Trial
"The trial of Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard. I never heard of Amber Heard before. People said she's a big deal. I guess she was the one with the red hair in Aquaman. And she's a terrible actress, by the way. I found her very not compelling and kind of rehearsed. People say she's good-looking. Whatever, I guess so. Not really. Sure about that. She just comes across as a crazy person, which she is. And so they were Johnny Depp and her married. And again, there's some broader cultural stories here implications and kind of political impacts behind the story, which is why we're talking about it. So Johnny Depp and her were married, Johnny Depp, from Pirates of the Caribbean, also the secret window, which is a great movie, by the way. Johnny Depp is an objectively terrific actor. And again, I had no real interest in the story as this was progressing. It was someone I'd never heard of suing captain Jack sparrow is kind of weird. I didn't really understand the whole part of that. And so they go to trial and then all these people are like, yeah, she pooped in his bed. I'm like, why is this nationwide news? Sounds like two crazy people suing each other, but actually it's really interesting when you look into it. So you go a level deeper and yesterday was the verdict, so basically Johnny Depp was suing to defend himself. And you might not think the story applies to you, but it absolutely applies to you. It applies to you in the sense of, if you've ever been wrongly accused of anything, if you have a son or a grandson in your life and the world that you're putting them into, that this sort of a cultural battle is incredibly important because it sends a signal to future people that very well might be falsely accused. So Johnny Depp was accused by Amber Heard by for beating her and she said he beat me, he broke my nose and immediately Amber Heard the crazy person was believed. And there was a massive kind of cost that came from this. Where almost immediately, Johnny Depp was canceled by every major institution. Imaginable, including Disney, by the way, so Disney canceled Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean. And so Johnny Depp was kind of in career limbo. People were treating Johnny Depp like how Kevin Spacey was treated after all these accusations. And this bothered Johnny Depp and so he said, I'm going to have to fight back. I'm going to have to legally push back against it. So some people say, oh, Johnny Depp was too big to cancel. I have nothing to do actually with how big Johnny Depp was. I mean, they canceled Harvey Weinstein because he was a scumbag. And he is a scumbag. They canceled Bill Cosby because not exactly a good guy at all. They tried to cancel Johnny Depp, but the only reason why Johnny Depp is now victorious is not because of how popular Johnny Depp is or how popular Johnny Depp or how big of a following is, it's because Johnny Depp fought

Why Did Jack Posobiec Just Go to Ukraine?!?
"Jack posobiec is, I don't know if he's back from Europe. He might still be in Europe. Jack are you still in Europe? Charlie, I can report that we have returned. We are back on the territory of the United States of America. This glorious land. You got your rights back. Congratulations. So believe it or not, man. We were not asked. Two and a half weeks, we were gone, not asked once for a COVID test for a vaccine pass, anything like that, either going into Europe. We were in ten countries or coming back to the U.S., not ask once. Not ask for your papers, not even going to Ukraine? Not even, oh, no, they didn't answer anything going to Ukraine. Just passport. Well, I want to ask about that. So you did the scenic tour of Europe. You went from Rome to Hungary. To Davos to Geneva, to Poland, and then you ended up in Ukraine. Let's start at the end. Why did you go to Ukraine? Oh yeah, hey, Charlie. I went to Ukraine last weekend. I didn't actually tell anybody I was going to go. Especially your turning point USA productions team. And I asked our teams, I said, do we have war insurance? Okay. Well, there were a number of people that did know. One person on the production team did know, but we were trying to keep this. It did make it all the way up the ladder, but that's okay. So how is Ukraine right now? Besides awful and terrible. Right? That's that main city. We are seeing a lot of western party. Western reporters, it's directly across the border from Poland. My family lives just on the other side of the border in Poland, so we were visiting with them, stay with them. And then we went across the border the next day. Levi still hustling, bustling city, very open, very free. We were there on a weekend, a beautiful gorgeous city, but then as we got further and further east, we ended up taking a night train down to Odessa, and then we're able to take a car through the checkpoints. That's what you're seeing in this video right now into the city of Mika liev. Now Mikayla is only a few kilometers. Just a couple of miles from the front lines where in Russian occupied territory of her son, which is the very next city over. So we made it about as far as the highway to her son and we were essentially stopped by military saying, you know, we can not allow any civilians to go further than this point, but the city of mikolaj itself has received shelling, has been struck a few times. In fact, it was struck just the day after we left the morning after the shipyards there at strategic shipyard city on the Black Sea. And conditions absolutely deteriorating the closer you get to Russian
Mo Brooks: Our Inflation Crisis Was Caused by Self-Inflicted Wounds
"And then when we printed all that money and spent it and we didn't have the supply chain to back it up of course the prices of the products went up Is any of this rocket science I mean this was taught to you when you went to school for economics correct Like this was very predictable By way of background I graduated with distinction and economics at duke university So I do have some education in economics And I have looked at economic issues for decades now of course you've got Jimmy Carter with the economic malaise associated with his administration and the inflation that we have today And I've been advising people that it's only a matter of time before these bad economic policies come back to bite us The difference between the economic malays and Jimmy Carter is much of that was inflicted from without with OPEC doing what they did and monopolizing all production and artificially jacking up prices What's happening now These are all self inflicted wounds When you have a $30 trillion debt you borrow $7 trillion of the last three years alone That's going to devalue the value of the U.S. dollar which in turn means you got to pay more dollars to buy whatever it is you're going to buy And then you add on to it the very bad response to COVID where we attacked our own economy we paid people not to work but what happens when you pay people not to work that interrupts the supply chain not as much as on the shell So you have to pay more in order to get it And it doesn't end with that there are other things I'll give you another example The Biden administration day one attacked energy production for energy that's going to be consumed in the United States of America That cuts down on the supply of energy particularly oil what's the net effect of that That drives that pricing So all of this is economics one O one so long as you don't go to the same university that AOC went to
Sydney Watson Breaks Down Her Interview With Jack Murphy
"Let's talk about what happened with this fake man, and I don't mean he's a trans gender woman. He's a fake man. He's Jack Murphy. He dies his beard. He pretends that he's super tough and manly. He's a weirdo. I saw him once at a reception. He is weird. He's also weak. He's a coward. And he's the definition of a cuckold. He is the liminal cuckold is who he is. He insulted you. He in front of your co host. He railed at you, you did nothing wrong. You read a DM or one of these paid for chat things, a question from a viewer. He swore at you incessantly, then your co host takes him out for drinks and dinner. As far as I'm concerned, the man who said, I did this because I'm standing up for the truth. He's part of the problem because that's not what a man does. As far as I'm concerned, a man always protects the vulnerable starting with women and children. Yeah, so the Jack Murphy thing was interesting because I still think that people now believe that I read the chat pertaining to his legitimate cuckold experiences intentionally and I didn't, I just don't know why I would know something like that. And then the way that it played out was very not acceptable to me on a bunch of different levels. And I have tried really hard to be quite temperate about it, although I confess I didn't have the greatest emotional reaction to it. I was very taken aback and I was very disturbed that somebody would react in that capacity towards me. And then I, you know, I suppose that at the time I was mad at the response of people around me because I thought, I don't necessarily need anybody to support or defend me by virtue of the fact that I'm a woman, although I love that men, do you feel so strongly about protecting women and I think that is one of the greatest things about men as a general rule that protective instinct. But you know, I mean, I grew up with brothers. Like, I've been punched in the face. Like, it's fine. So I suppose that for me, I was like, well, the reason why you were defend me is simply just because I'm a person. If you were in the same room as me, said, when someone spoke down to you and I have a lot of love for you, I turn around and I'd be like, don't talk to him like that. So I think there's this natural response that you should have toward situations where you jump in because you care about someone and you don't want them to be spoken down to our screen debt or to what was it F off or whatever he said at the end there. He actually told me to F off a few times. Oh, it was like 6 times. I watched the interview.

"And are any of these efforts helping has the family of Jack gotten any solid leads? There have been leads I joined Zoe while she walked up the Venice boardwalk and a man who went by the name DJ leaf in the win. A Venice character told her, I've seen this guy. And he gave her a streets to go visit not far away. So, you know, we're looking we're both looking in chalk thinking, could this be real or is this completely fabricated? We don't know this man, but we have, you know, it's giving her hope in that moment. And she actually went to that area and she found other people who said, yes, I believe we have seen this man. Yeah, it's hard. You know, like when actually when we were driving today, there was a kid on a skateboard as we were driving down the road and I was looking like, John, is that him? Is that him? And you know, yeah, I get this little spark of hope and then, no, it's just been this roller coaster, or you see the back of someone and they turn around and you're like, just sunk. So it hasn't led to anything completely concrete. But it certainly served to keep hope alive by having people continuously say, yes, he does look familiar, and I have, I believe I have seen him. Yeah, again, Jack's been missing for 7 months. That's a long time, and yet the family still has that hope that he's alive by, you know, by instances like that. Exactly. And I spoke to the detective on the case with the sheriff's department, and she herself said they do believe that he is alive and probably living between Venice and Malibu, possibly in a homeless encampment where it's very difficult to necessarily know where someone is. And finally, in general, you know, California has tens of thousands of people reported as missing every year. What are the general stats of people being found? Unfortunately, you know, not all cases in that well of last year, 831 people who were reported missing out to have died and 1400 were arrested. I was actually really surprised about 41,000 adults went missing last year, 60% of them are men. I just thought that was an interesting anecdote. But actually, 29,000 people reported missing, not necessarily from that year, but total returned on their own or were found by law enforcement. So that's a large proportion of people having a relatively positive outcome. Lila, thank you so much for this conversation. Thanks so much for having me. I appreciate it. "From the worlds of sports and entertainment about what's real with fiction and all the creative choices in between, subscribe now. Welcome back. Zoo and his mom stuck around the beach looking for Jack. Something to do with the weather and the waves? Yeah, he was a surfer. He loved California. So, you know, he had friends and they figured if someone knows where he might be, it's probably the folks in Venice or Malibu, you know, sort of his people, so to speak. When he's not feeling up to speed and when he really needs a fix, he loves skateboarding. I mean, he's always been drawn to skateboarding since he was little. He gave him a board and he's got to move on it. So Jack actually taught surf lessons at the Malibu SurfShark a few years ago. He was just drawn to the ocean as a surfer. So it made sense for him to come out to Southern California whenever possible. And there was just something about it that was very calming for him. Four years ago when we were here, Jack was working at the surf shop and seemed to be right on track for staying sober and getting his life together. We just had a great time exploring all the sites down in the aquarium so that was fantastic. And last time we were here, we got to watch deck surf and he's amazing. We watched him catch a wave and then he came in and was like, wow, that was great. The Minnesota boy crushing the waves and Malibu. But that was the last time we saw him surf, but it was.

His cloven feet leaving deep marks in the ground never was a man more pleased with his own craftiness than jack and never was a village more tired of hearing the same unbelievable tale over and over. Then jack's they tolerated his ways as best. They could for five more years until to their relief first unspoken then spoken quite loudly. Jack died loose of his mortal shell. The symbol of jack rose to judgement and gave saint peter his name. Peter looked into his book of lives. His beatific is going wide as they travel down the page with clear surprise. He flipped the page and continued reading. Oh no he said quietly. Oh no no no no no no. You can't come in here. But i'm a good christian. Jack protested christian perhaps good. I don't think so. He defeated the devil. Wants all you did. That night was show. You are more wicked than even lucifer down you go. With a wave of saint peter's hand. Jack found himself plummeting at unbelievable speed through the sky and the very earth. He came to a stop in a great stone chamber lit by fire. And reeking of brimstone in front of him a familiar figure sat on a throne of bones. Where do you think you're going. The devil asked leaning forward in his seat to have. I suppose said jack. I've been cast from the door to heaven for having a bit of fun in life. So now it's the fire for me. We can't have at the deal was remember. The devil leaned back comfortably. You made me promise not to bring your soul into my kingdom. I wouldn't go back on my word tricks. That beneath me aren't they. Jack's face fell in sorrow and confusion. Where i going to go down but worth back to life. No you are long. Did the devil smiles. What am i to do on earth with no body. Jack asked bereft walk. I suppose it makes me no never mind. Is there enough near will do to help me with that. The devil picked up burning coal from the cave floor and flicked it at jack there. Now you can let your way. Jack caught it awkwardly and tossed it from hand to hand even without flesh to burn the infernal. Coal still felt painfully hot. Before jack could reply the devil snapped his long fingers and jack rocketed upward. Jack found himself in the center of a long empty road. He did not know which way to go but it was not as if he had a reason to go one way over the other. The night was unforgivingly dark. Jack scarcely saw the round bit of white on the side of the road a turnip in the dirt likely fallen from a cart and partially chewed by some lucky wild creature. Jack dropped the burning coal inside the turnip and turned it to cast. Its ruddy light on. The road. And jack began to walk.

"Jack of the lantern by moxie la bouche not a soul like jack. There's one in every village a man. No one likes and with good reason. Jack did not have one friend in the houses or surrounding farms. He probably didn't have a friend in the whole of the county. He came by their negative esteem. Honestly jack liked a pint. He was a devil for the drink. Air style at decent farrier and smith jack was now an exceptional drunk replete. Though he was he never had a sent to give anyone except the publican and only if his beer had no foam. Those sense had known no honest path to his pocket. Half the day steaming drunk. Jack was still a crafty bastard. He could talk none out of her whipple in the middle of the square. On a good day he could get her habit to items and animals. That went missing from porch or pen weren't said to have gone missing. But rather they've gone to jack. This clear prince among men found his name on the sneer of everyone in the village. His legend needed no help. But even still the tales of his travesties began to slide that way. A traveler sitting alone to the side of the listened intently. The sounds like quite the fellow traveller said only to himself. who's in an acquaintance. I shall have to make three men at the nearest table. Were happy to tell the traveler where to find jack. The traveler was physically sound but with none of the roughness of life made in the field or on the sea. He carried himself with a certain bearing and his clothes were nicer than anything that could be purchased for many miles. The village men hoped he was tax collector or a solicitor. With bad news. Jack sat at a table at the back of the pub- it not especially his table but no one else would sit with him. For fear of being the latest victim of his brazen greed. The traveler approached and after waiting in vain for an invitation or even acknowledgement sat down across from jack or you the man about whom. I've heard such entertaining stories. Jack appraised the traveller not even trying to be subtle about it a fancy man in a simple village was about the easiest mark there was but the tell them wrong over there so yes to a little more nubrik. Ation adults tales. The likes of which you have never heard before nor since landlord the traveller said raising an elegant hand two bidders for jack shot in. I don't plan to drink too. Don't plan for you to either. The traveler chuffed four bidders. Travelers settled back down into his seat. Your reputation was scarcely hard-fought. Wasn't jack shrugged. One shoulder men say they will. The publican brought four pints of dark amber beer and abandon them on the table. Trae and all retreating from his least favourite customer and this peculiar stranger. Jack drank the first pint as if it might otherwise escape from him. The traveler sipped his beer and waited. Jack was halfway through the next find before he announced euro nick the dividends self. Did you reason it's so quickly. Only the devil will willingly pay for my drinks on that score in better. Pay the landlord. Excuse me you order the drinks. You should want to pay. I am the star of the morning and the father of lies. What makes you think. I wouldn't walk out on a bar tab. Jack waved his objection away. That's been nature you. It's not evil. It's barely even naughty. What are you a leprechaun that you go around tricking one man at a time robina landlord. Four pints of bitter isn't a devil's work. The devil was silent for a moment as he sipped his fear. I don't carry cash. He said quietly. Jack rolled his eyes all the powers of even in creation on. You can't work your way around this. The devil narrowed his eyes at jack. The you can change shape. can't you. So turn yourself into a coin and hundred to the landlord and then you change back. The better is paid for. And we got a bit a crack when you scare half the knife out of the devil. Consider this a moment annoyed by the soundness of the plan and the fact that a mortal man could even put ideas in his head. Nevertheless he agreed with a nod jack barked and tossed down the last of his beer. He held out a flat hand and waited. The devil still unsure why he was going along at all disappeared in the span of a blink and just as quickly aucoin was on jack's palm he gave it a bounce and enjoy the heavy feel. Jack stood up poured most of the third beer down his throat and drop the coin in his pocket. The landlord behind the bar only shook his head in irritation as jack walked out without paying again as his feet hit the dirt outside. Jack patted his pocket. The large coins smacked against a silver crucifix. And chain and jack smiled even without the tiny sacred figure of jesus silver was the enemy of all things mythical or evil including as he'd hoped the very devil as long as that cross lay against the coin. The devil was trapped. You not be taken. Moi sold today fully pleased with himself. Jack sauntered staggeringly home the coin buzzing like a hornet the entire way once home. Jack took the large ornate crucifix from above his hearth and went out to the stable for a hammer and a handful of nails. He trekked a bit into the woods behind the barn and found the largest oak tree. There was to be found with nails clamped between his teeth. Jack nail crucifix to the trunk of the tree. All this walking in doing he could do with another pint after satisfying himself. That no amount of polling would free the cross. Jack dropped his hammer and pulled the coin and cross from his pocket leaning back. He threw them both as hard as he could into the tall branches of the tree. The cross knocked from branch to branch before falling to the earth. The coin on the other hand turned into a very angry man who grabbed tightly to the branches. The devil had abandoned the dapper guys. He'd worn at the start of the night and stared with rage in his red scaly. Glory was more clever than it was smart. The devil snarled and made the climb down as his feet near the lowest branches. The crucifix of silver drove him back as if with a physical. Shove.

It's not really like i feel like it's loosely connected in that like they're samurai. Jack is actually in american anime by that again. The target kofsky guy who did The clone wars did that primal. That are really liked. A couple of years ago about the speaking of cro-magnon man that team's up at the t. rex to get the to get revenge. He's got this. Like very distinctive squared off fingers and everything's angular very fluid and simple and impressionistic almost character is like a like a a caricature of the characters. But it now. This is more of like sam. This is more of like Sailor moon kind of trash level like that kind of a anime like bubble gum anime which enjoy. Because i've been watching sailor moon crystal crystal silver crystal chronicles. Whatever the newest version is and be stars and shit like that lately. That is this kind of like you know the the The intro was just chefs gifts. I i loved it a lot. It was is pretty good. They replaced the usual. Mardi intro with one. That had the rick. "At some point you might get tired of hearing me say that every great business idea often starts as a problem in need of a solution but one reason i keep coming back to. This is the sheer almost stupid. Simplicity of it. It's an equation. You explain to a six year. Old frustration equals idea. Equals action equals solution. Think about jamie semenov who worked out of his garage. He needed to see who was at the front door when the doorbell rang to decide whether to get up and opened the door or stay so he built a video doorbell for himself and then he turned it into a business called ring. Melissa butler couldn't find bolden bright lipstick colors so she created her own and then turned that idea into a business called the lip bar. Mike radan nba had to bike seventeen miles to high school so to make that journey easier. He turned his bike into an electric bike. And that idea eventually became rad. Power bikes and jack conte's problem. It was a problem that at first glance doesn't seem that problematic back in two thousand nine. He and his then girlfriend. Now wife natalie formed a band called pablo moose and in september of that year they released a cover version of beyond says ladies and they made a video to go with it. Video got billions of views and their youtube channel blew up. They were doing media interviews and selling some of their music on i tunes so you're probably wondering what was the problem. Well having lots of followers and viewers doesn't necessarily translate into a sustainable business especially after all the middlemen take their cut. So jack set out to solve this problem and he wondered. Is there a way for artists to make their art. In a sustainable way without a big record label or publisher or studio backing them and the answer he came up with is patriotic. Patriot is a platform that connects artists with their most passionate fans. Fans who willingly pay a monthly subscription to support their favorite artists since its launch in two thousand thirteen patriotic has attracted about two hundred thousand creators including some names that you might know like youtuber jackson bird or the musician beardie man or the podcast chapo trap house but mostly patriotic help support people. You've never heard of ukulele teachers. Graphic artists film reviewers science fiction. Writers fantasy footballers and that sort of how its creators. jack conte and sammy am envisioned. It for starters both salmon. Jack had creative instincts from very early on. Jack grew up in the bay area where he was fascinated with puppetry and loved making his own animations. Sam grew up in pittsburgh where he worked as a waiter at his parents restaurant and actually really loved programming. His calculator and from a young age both of them were also really into music. Sam played classical. Piano and jack started out playing jazz in fact their mutual love of music might be why they were paired up as roommates when they started their freshman year at stanford in two thousand. Two here's jack. I think it was just one of those relationships that <hes>. that was relatively. I mean at least saying my recollection. It was like easy like it doesn't it didn't take a lot of work. We just kind of it. Just kind of worked. Yeah i think we also had a easygoing humor to to us that we found. Maybe some of the same lacob type things funny and <hes>. The same friend groups that eventually brought over <hes>. I think really resonated with me too. So what were you studying in college. <hes> chocolate let's start with you. I studied music. You know my whole life. I've been on the arts. Had kind of been like the side thing. But i was on the you know the science and math kind of track. <hes> grown up and <hes>. I love physics in high school. I thought i wanted to be a physical measure when i got to college and then <hes>. I remember getting to this like the next level of physics. And i was sitting in a class and i think movies often show you like one. Moment of realization in life is rarely like that life is usually like a slow burn. But this was really one moment realization for me sitting in this class whereas like this is not what i wanna do and <hes>. I just. I was just thinking about songs. I was thinking about music theory class. I was thinking about other things. And that's where my brain was going. And i didn't wanna do physics and i. I remember like sitting on a bench after that physics class for probably forty five minutes. I just sat there and just thought about what that meant for me. Because i was i was. But the oldest profession girl the phone call center jobs 6 work its birth. Yes. Yes. So this person named Jaguar, right? Oh Lord Oh Lord. love if you listen every night at seven but just in case can we make it available for you how was that Friday night show by the way because that was a very very newsy day a subject that we spend a ton of time on I realize there's a billion other things happening but just quick chat how was that on Friday night listening to some of the newsmakers following the city council vote the historic city council vote on Friday night yeah it went very well we had both Bob Reid Scott Sherman on who at times have been opposing when it comes to mission valley at times on the same page following that voted obviously JD worker she said and the vote there moved forward we will get another vote either a week from today or two weeks from today at city council and what they call first reading and those were second reading and then by the end of July hi perhaps the last week in July the stadium on the site two hundred thirty two acres to all be in mission valley under control of the university so it's a very big deal but one of things that came out of that in the second part of our conversation with judge Judy wicker was that he was talking there about not only the gonna play college football this year senator Stabler have fans at SDCCU stadium at least that's the plan right now if they have to pull back so be it but they're playing have fans maybe a full stadium but they've got an old NFL stadium there they could not fill up to a certain capacity twenty five fifty percent they are planning on having fans there and that's in their preparations weather comes to fruition out there at least optimistically and I love that not planning on doing that so I wasn't planning on speaking of this but I just happen to have had a conversation earlier today with a friend and we were talking about if you were involved in this process whether you are strictly for SDSU west the whole time whether you are backing a different developer whether it doesn't matter but I I was having a conversation with a friend of mine earlier and we were talking about the fact that even if you were involved it must've felt like a lifetime right like like even from twenty sixteen November of twenty sixteen to the city council vote and it's not done yet and we know that things still hopefully go according to plan but in this city and in this state sometimes there are unforeseen hurdles that are put in front of you but we were casually chatting about wow something something's getting done and boil boy doesn't that contradict some of the stuff totally different project I grant you that doesn't totally contradict some of the messaging that came from the NFL and from the Spanos family about the city of San Diego again now this was an effort I wouldn't envy anybody who's been a part of it this now will be the reward on the other side of this very long process once they actually get greenlit and can start digging and and but man I did not feel good to be able whether you agree with this or wanted a different point but the feel good to know that you know maybe ward were we've got issues but some of that stuff that was said on the way out of town by those people not a hundred percent true now was it that's an excellent point yeah the the pie in the sky you know suicide pill type plans that were out there the language that was being used the unfair criticisms there certainly was there but look to place certainly has a lot of problems just like anywhere else in California try to get things done in a major large scale but yeah that's a pretty good point to make and just how disappointing again it is that the Chargers acted the way they did yep and and then not just doing the things that they do but also making a prediction yeah well good luck because this will be the same one horse town for the next twenty thirty years and and again I I know I'd first that wasn't necessarily the vision that I saw not afraid to admit that but it's nice to see something happen and hopefully now fingers crossed there's no other legal staff I guess now Jack were or what on the sports arena is that the next challenge that that you admire or going to pursue here are we then get to think about the midway district in what to do in that area absolutely we are six days away from the bids being due for the redevelopment of the sports arena site about that so how about that we're six hours like a shell that's right we are six days away now and the city will make a decision on who selected their and you know that yes there is that I think the height limit vote to be important for November but just for midway and nowhere else in San Diego so yeah there are still some big things here when it comes to sports or other developments that will be moving forward here I think that would be great for the city to talk about so over the next few years about Jack Jack no one right there totally unprompted he and I didn't discuss a single second of this knowing that Monday right Monday today yes that bids or do it so this is an open R. F. P. right now yes bids are due a city can't come until Monday on what they are interesting again that sounds like a show I like it but then again life is is pretty happy we'll get back to to where we started something Jack tweeted out we'll get to that next right here on news radio six hundred cargo it was until.

Jack Conan from the coco studios Terence Smith for the white forty sixth consecutive show I do believe it is physically separated from my co host Jack Cronin who's holding down the fort there all afternoon Jack Cronin good to speak with you we got a lot to get to tonight seems like things are moving quickly and several different areas so should be a very quick moving show tonight not to jinx it got a guest coming up in our next segment she's the city council president Georgette Gomez I think everybody probably knows why Georgette Gomez is coming on the show as we had a special session for city council scheduled not for tomorrow but for a week from tomorrow where it is expected that a vote will occur on the sale of the mission valley land from the city to San Diego state university how are you on this Thursday night all doing fine doing fine but it happened real fast last night didn't you said you know I'm hearing that we have a special session called Michael okay that's cool and then immediately after we walked out what forces governor Brianna she confirmed that so it's gonna be Friday of next week the council will vote skull the session ten AM and so Georgette Gomez coming out next love that San Diego city council president Georgette Gomez with support from mayor Kevin Faulkner in leadership at city state university of scheduled a special council meeting to take action on the city of San Diego's pending sale of a hundred and thirty two acres of land in mission valley center St the meeting will take place at ten AM one two Fridays from now quote as city council president I am pleased to be able to call a special council meeting on what will be a historic opportunity to transform one of San Diego's communities I've worked hard during the past few weeks to insure the best chance for a successful agreement as an S. D. S. you grad I'm elated to play a role in helping my alma mater expand its institutional footprint enhances educational prestige increase our supply of workforce and student housing and create a river park for all San Diegans that was Georgette Gomez a little bit earlier today so yes there had been some chatter that this might be moving very quickly here Jack to me does this indicate to you it will ask the council president coming up in our next segment at a deal maybe not done but a deal has to be very very close between the two sides if city council is calling a special meeting a week from tomorrow yeah I absolutely think that we are we are very very close here if they do not vote simply on the may fifth proposal from the university then whatever was negotiated this week in the interim between last week's final council meeting officially for the month and today whatever it may be that negotiations part of the vote next week but either way were incredibly close and I absolutely believe that there are the votes there to approve it and to sell that land to the university yeah I as a matter of fact Jack McGrory was quoted today via the unity beyond saying that there had been some edits from the may fifth proposal are you just what those at its look like it you know it's sort of you know the idea that this is take it or leave it and this is that this is our last you know listen I I I I think that gender stand at this sort of stuff happens in the go she ation right like you have people on either side who are or you know going to say things especially in a public situation quite like this that you're going to have some threats of what we might move we might place some place else we're not gonna take on what it cost to continue to play at SDCCU stadium Qualcomm stadium Jack Murphy depending on how far back you go so yeah that's one way of applying a little bit of pressure Hey this is a take it or leave it situation you know that you can find out afterwards and that's fine that's what negotiating it is it's a lot of posturing especially when you're dealing with a public situation so yeah I mean I think that's good that there's been it sounds like that we don't know what the details are not on how many we're going to get coming up Georgette Gomez in our next segment there were fourteen issues I believe what into the city attorney Mara Elliott and it just it sounds like if you were to read this in their own words that there is compromise on both sides and I think yeah that's a good thing yeah I I don't think that was the final offers you set for may fifth so it's good sounds like they've come up to the the city's legal concerns and so Hey you know what that's what the vote on a week from tomorrow fine that's right I think we've done this back and forth stuff I think it's good to go yep Kevin Faulk are quoted as saying it's time for the mission valley stadium site to start its next chapter I applaud city council president Gomez for setting a special hearing next week so the city council can cast the key vote in transferring in transferring this property from the city to city state university the city in San Diego State University have devoted considerable attention to this it's time to get this deal done and get it done right I think everybody would agree with that if nothing else I think that if you were to have a second shouldn't set up for tomorrow I think you would probably have a lot of anxious people of the city council who would say yes let's move this forward let's get into war Memorial Day weekend let's put this in the rear view mirror but it will be scheduled a week from tomorrow so I was only off by about a week but Hey it's still I think really really good news for everybody the the public voted the public spoke so if people are are hung up on on some of the details we understand this is eighty six point two million dollars a little bit more I think because of of interest it's money that the city definitely can use its money that the city could have used pre covert nineteen so I I look forward to speaking with Georgette Gomez coming up but just one quick point there because I know you said this earlier today over an extra thirteen sixty our sister station people might say well Hey until there's a vote and this this isn't a deal you are confident though that this will have the votes to pass next Friday absolutely I'm very confident I would say confident in overwhelming type vote and so we'll see they they can't say yet even though some of them have already you can't officially say which are both going to be until you come to open session but now there's it I don't think it's gonna be close to be very honest heading into a week from tomorrow because there's so much has gone into this remember the university's first offer was not good this is essentially the latest version of their second offer and it is good and so the negotiations have continued both sides are protecting taxpayers on both sides so I think that's fine I think that you'll see an overwhelming vote a week from tomorrow you know I I would just say though I'm a little I'm not sure about Barbara Bray I don't know how she feels about that has to me that's the real Mr answering voters yes yeah when we come back city council president Georgette Gomez will join us we'll talk about getting this on the docket special meeting coming up next Friday that's next on news radio six hundred cargo right now real time check the traffic this report is sponsored by Toyota Carlsbad Dante a stall fifty two west found "From one another to have a good weekend Jack absolutely absolutely come back energized ready to go absolutely nope there's always a point in time where it's happened it's only happened one other time where we lose the connection to the kitchen table in north park one other news well one of the little time we lose the connection not requires is a reset of the the equipment from the kitchen table in north park so moving through the progression of the story that we were telling from today from the governor's announcements of both county control at noon today and which we have not gotten to yet overall the fact that professional sports becoming back without fans in about two weeks the first week of June that coming out of the noon news conference today at the two thirty news conference today the county and the public health officer Dr Wilma Wooten confirmed that tomorrow's vote is going on as best scheduled that the county will be voting the five supervisors will be voting to send the proposal the governor become one of those fifty three counties to try to move ahead and enteric now you're back with us the fact that at four thirty the mayor had his daily update as well which went further into not only asking for phase two but also perhaps a pilot program into phase three yep then I apologize on that I don't know what exactly happened there I must have hit the wrong button one thing that has not happened here over forty four shows as I have not become much it better as as an engineer that I am as a talk show host but yes again N. as in I don't know I'm just sort of poking fun at what it was that the mayor had to say before we went to the bottom of the hour to the news update about the governor heard us today after we urged realistic phase two rules last week maybe the governor was going to do this all along maybe not but Hey listen he's listened to elected officials in California to the board of supervisors in to the mayor with regards to the beach opening so from that standpoint Jack I I absolutely I understand that that you would certainly put something like that out there if you're on the board of supervisors or if you're the mayor himself again I don't know about the whole fact check stava mostly just playing around with that because it's not all that important what's important is the substance as you were just talking about their obscene if we couldn't be a pilot for phase three and and what that might look like with nail salons and the thing that I've heard most I haven't heard people claiming for hair cuts the last time I heard many people clamoring for one thing like this it was people clamoring for toilet paper right when this began that's how badly people want to get back into their hair salons in other barbershops I know for many years I've had a great professional relationships with with sport clips as a sponsor here as a sponsor for me for my radio show so I am I'm I'm excited that those guys seem to be getting closer to to a re opening so yeah I mean I I tend to yeah this is this is good politics as you were just saying before I so rudely decided to screw up my equipment here at home no no worries you know here's why San Diego matters this conversation is not just it's not just San Diego tasking open as we saw twenty four counties already open in California and up to fifty three of the fifty eight total could be on their way but here's why Senegal matters we're the second largest county in California and we know the largest one LA is not part of this conversation so they're out because L. has so many people and their cases run different rate and they're not the one who's gonna lead the charge back so guess who that falls to it falls to us you know some of the bay area counties or not opening as fast because LA's are the better the picture we are the largest county the next one in line and because we are numbers are going in the right direction it gives us a leadership position to say all right if we do things in a certain way can we try to lead the way back to go into space three or whatever it is whatever metric you want to use toward possibly reopen that's why Senegal matters here it's it's one thing for us to have the same demands Modoc county which got ten thousand people in northern California or alpine county which is a thousand we've got three million because we are in a position to ask for it it provides interesting leadership position for San Diego yep I think you're right it does it does perhaps even set a template for you know how some of the larger counties yeah my operate given phase two perhaps even into phase three and I do I mean as somebody who lives in a city that has amazing restaurants I don't always want to focus on where it is that I live it's easy to do it just because it's it's what I see right it's it's my immediate ecosystem as somebody who's been in the restaurant business as somebody who has spent a lot of my years bartending and and being a waiter I I really want this to work for the restaurants you know ideal for the retail shops for the restaurant owners themselves earlier today on behalf of restaurant owners the guy is named Phil the guy who runs bill's barbecue this his name is bill okay wow what an amazing coincidence I know that sounds like a stupid question elder and grants to that's right but that said he got up there and he talked about and and I felt for me talked about Hey this isn't about us in profits this is about getting our work force back this is about us having our employees our shops and our servers and our hosts and our hostesses having all of those people come back in and and I I do obviously I think we all everybody has our questions and it's fair it's not negative I know we've always said we're going to steer clear of the negativity it's just the reality of I I hope this works out I hope whatever it is that it looks like when we're we're ready to put face to end into action which could be days I I really I wanted to work it's not going to be the same experience it's sort of like a sporting event I before I muted myself here from home I was babbling on about watching sporting events over the weekend and it it took a little getting used to actually the the German soccer because that I think is is there a sport that has the most similarities to the sports that we're accustomed to watching basketball baseball football hockey that's the sport I think with the most similarities not not the way the golf was constructed this weekend and certainly not the NASCAR but I really wanted to work for these restaurateurs I I have my questions like anybody should about going back and not so much the safety of it all but the experience of what it was like going to your favorite restaurant and what it's going to be like when you go back into that restaurant and it's not exactly what it was but it it's the same chap hopefully and it's the same menu it might be a different experience but and and I hope that it works for the employees right anybody who's ever waited tables no you're not going to get rich you're not gonna retire doing that so with the reduction of capacity at some of these places I I am I'm rooting hard for this to work on their understandable I think an obvious challenges with re opening some of these places but I I cannot express how badly I want this to work for those people who are opening these businesses no doubt and it's the same muscle you mean for the sports conversation to write the same thing you wanted to work in it's not gonna be forever that's the thing about restaurants or concerts or sports or conventions this is not gonna be this wait forever it's it's the immediate future the next six months or so so we gotta get through it and that's but those businesses will survive to that point if they don't get back up and running in a limited capacity so I'm I'm with you I'm rooting for it to happen but in order to do that the the safety the you know not coming to work sick in the cleaning and the distance rules all that's gonna be followed if it is going to work for a good position to show that it can absolutely and employers now I you're you're I think employers you know there's going to be a lot of eyeballs on those who run these businesses not only in how you treat your work force because we'll find out he quickly is if your employees don't feel safe and how you welcome back in your customers and how you convince your customers that yes yes absolutely this is as safe as we can possibly make it and it might feel different than the last time you were in your favorite restaurant and let's not even get into the bars or your favorite retail shop it might feel different it will certainly look different but yes it's it's it's quite a lot to put on pardon the pun to put on the plates of the people who are who are running these businesses that you you really got to be on the look out now for your employees and we all can argue that they should have been doing that all along okay granted but and we can argue that they should have been figuring out how to to make it as safe as possible for your consumers but now so Jack more than ever I mean now the focus is really gonna be on those two things in particular how your employees are treated and how safe your consumer feels walking to the door of your retail store or your restaurant absolutely I was having the same team and it means trusting everybody if you are feeling good you're not coming in and it's it works both ways if you gotta you gotta be trusting on both sides and the customer has to feel that comfort the customer's always right you have to make them feel like they are safe protected in clean walking into your environment there are too many people that are in there that it is safe to do so and if that happens I think you can get through it absolutely and I find myself somewhat in the middle here you know if we're going to over simplify this let's say and and and just it's possible that there are three types of people as it relates to re opening retail or re opening restaurants roadside there are those who are like yep absolutely I've been locked in this house way too long I've I've I've I can't keep cooking I I gotta get out I want to go support I feel obligated to support restaurants in my neighborhood I want a good night out you may be I think this thing was a little bit over done right like so there's that person who without hesitation will be immediately back into the mall into the retail store in the restaurant and then have the complete opposite nope not me ma'am I did not tell there's a vaccine right so there's that I think I find myself somewhere in the middle which is you know it might take awhile but just to look around and and see what this is all about and poke my head into this place and poke my head into that place and and just get a sense for it I don't I'm definitely not the well I'm going to lock myself in my house for the rest of my life until there's a vaccine I'm not that guy I'm also not the let me kick open the doors and and go run right out.
