Surprised to hear that from you all good with you and the family, Ryan Harris. All good. All healthy. How'bout yourself. Can't complain. You know, there's no days off in my family with Bill Belichick being my father. So tell him to stop by and on the menu for things. You shut your mouth, right, Harris. What a great conversation at the paper. Thanks so much. My friend will talk to you soon. Thank you up. There's Ryan Harris. Great stuff with him. Stop spying. Give me a break. I used to like Ryan Harrison. I don't know if I could like Ryan Harris anymore. I think that relationship is over. I think we're finished. You know what we're on to the next segment. "Bisexual guy on the cat. Jackson's like obsessed with everyone's amount mount of gayness. Okay the amount of like he's like really into this real life catfish that he's doing he's like in a different role and like I started watching this ridiculous regular show the circle a net flicks and I started watching match. Oh God I can't even believe. He said they were GonNa just sit here yapping about the circle I see it coming so bad bad. It's so bad I can't even believe much excessive of it. It's so bad. What is the meet head on? That show keeps saying Oh God God throw them up. Red Is the worst fears of six episodes in an is still in it. I don't care that I'm spoiling for anyone. Because it's such a bad show. It's so bad at it. Goes on for so long and then just when you're about to be like fuck this I'm off and they have like not even an interesting twist but just nothing like I'll watch for five more minutes. It has such a miserable. We'll show and then your whole life has gone. You just keep watching watching it so badly accurate but I can t I plan on returning Jackson. That's show for Jacks like Jacks would basically I mean never mind. Jack's doesn't that show. Jack's catfish is in real life like he will catfish to your face. So they're joking around dropping their underwear to show that they're all wearing the same underwear and staff and Sandovol is like showing me the future. I don't have to live with anymore. Broken Uh bark successful borrowed who pays his own bills. She's like meanwhile rolling around on the floor with party. City out. Party did Jackson I can't even take my makeup off because we need to have a professional do it. This is movie quality it though. Christians are selling jacks that Katie was telling her like was basically like Fukuda. Her and Kristen is like like seriously like shoulder shoulder shoulder wag shoulder wag. Like what are you stressed about Katie. You're you're the perfect life you know you have a pro life perfect house perfect house man. Like what else are you doing with your fucking could live like out about so much talking cage. Yeah so then so Schwartz Ya. Ah Sandoval BUBBA. Bubba was telling me that you're you're pissed off So I mean I'm sorry Katie was pissed off. Mike Weiwei. I wave my wife. Katie bubbles just off of U. The Mouse Swertz Sandovol an area on everyone's wasted and areas like yeah. She was like pissed estimate dinner but I was trying to explain. It wasn't about her. It was like you guys. You know all I was trying to say it or is it your. He's incompetent like yeah. Yeah hurts my feeling the topic then Tom Sandoval like okay. Let me explain something. We cannot serve alcohol without serving food and Schwartz's like harbor. Technically the kitchen was open. Chef was upstairs prepping. Really Wasn even yes he was. He's just trying to justify this tax but he's wrong wrong just because someone was watching gratitude we upstairs not mean. There was a chef preparing to Tom. So Yeah we start this whole talk. Show Tom. Sandoval is the king of the pets and he does do that. They show a montage to Santa Ball. Just I'm sorry by like the you're in friend right online car when it was when it was in Dr must supposed to say person flat on the street. Sorry well sorry. Trade deal As though he's just like King of the bats. MFN Schwartz is like you know it's like his apologies are like a formality formality. Just to say that he's right. Yeah most apologies are. Yeah it's usually something to say. Okay I'm acknowledging your feelings feelings and your feelings are hurt solving housing that but let me continue. Because I'm right. Yes and you're wrong. Yeah sorry your feelings are hurt. But you're wrong sal. South Yeah so areas saying Okay so how do I say this the two idiots all right so when he says he he apologized says but the but does not take the apology. He's just trying to paint a larger picture and Santa's can I speak myself. Oh thank yes you can but when you do that would make an ass when you do that but makes you make an ass out of B U Z. Got It so then we get a commercial ouakam like I know and then we could you know we got a commercial we come back. And he's still screaming torches like. Don't yell at me. Oh listen our let our let daren't ask ask how I love that he did that. Give us like the British and also the English literal. Our literal will and Casey can't understand either one two options Schwartz. All right on the fucking I now dude shorts let me admit something okay. I'm to passive sometimes to the point. Like Katie sticking. Traffic counts up my cornhole hitting me in the face with hidden valley bottles K.. But sometimes you're like two minute. Lee focused on things like the details impact can get in the way. Okay Yeah. We're different people. And we handle our backups in different. Oh wait hold on. I wrote this down. Hold on okay. Five hundred seventy dollars. Oh sorry awesome. New correspondent hold on for different people. What was I saying where literally different people literally different people and we deal with? Things is an literally literally different ways. Different ways thank you. That's only one here okay. Yeah so then they they and it's actually sweet been areas like. Can I get a hug too. And then you know when Katie watches this when she wash it last night. She's probably like doc that's weird because I didn't get a hug when you guys moved up. Let's go wake up Katie. Let's go roll. Katie over to apologize to her the real victim and all of this. So Kristen wakes up and As just like so kristen waking off just like Whoa. Oh like she's like getting a invisible like what do you call those paddles. Like clear. Arta Tech Battles. I don't know what they're gonNA say. Jeez but they're not cages. They're like things. Yeah and everybody's basically waking go and Brittany's like Oh my God you're I came on taking this off like I've gotta get an often. I'll call somebody league. Good luck. Good luck with that. Yeah he's like seeing himself in the Mirror on the ceiling and realizing that this is his future just trying to pull his face off. It's you know with different different music. In a different context this would be a harvey like this is like a cerebral harm. Lovie in that a playboy like one day wakes up and he looks old and he's like no I can't be old and he pulls his inveighs until just like all bloody and there's nothing left but zander pump rule so it's just sort of funny and or it's just watching season one and then watching season eight. It's like the same same thing fibula defibrillator defibrillators. Those those the paddles defibrillator. paddles Sir the defibrillator farmer. Linex have you throw tables of So up on Vander pump. Rules and Bo has a handlebar moustache and stocks. He's like Oh my God that has got take out and then literally the whole scene coming up I was like wow you guys are desperate. How much of this has been cut out? The seat is understand. How Doc- Ozzie candidate Patrick with US man? Bone for five years than Bo has a handlebar moustache for left. And she's like Saks. Like let him have his handlebar. must ask for at least forty five minutes. So in Chris in Schwartz. Katie's bad guess what Katie's doing making sweet sweet love and cuddling with her man now. Yep She's talking shit about crested because it's like demanding that she wakes up the same way like some of them are way worse when they're drunk Katie's just always literally just terrible the twenty twenty four hours a day all the time. She really is so young. Schwartz's life Blah Blah. I had so much fun last night. But you're Sukree Cranky Bob. Aw and she's like I'm wha she was talking about how you cheated on me all the time and my good friend me Of My God actually Yossi has been a really good friend to you while your husband was probably running around and Stasi wouldn't speak back to you and all you had Christian to remember any of these. Yeah let's not forget that when they went to New Orleans. Oh and we're going to New Orleans this week tie in but when you guys went to New Orleans it was Kristin who brought up who was like defending you unnecessarily causing massive drama but she was still defending you Jack Griffin is just like this Bachelorette Sadler at parties. "It yeah with a pair of snowshoes and you build you won't believe what you see that's right well it's it's interesting I think I probably fell into that category of not being a real winter lover for a lot of my life and my wife who has introduced me to so many neat things in the world really got me to enjoy it because she was a skier and and especially cross country skier and kind of pull me out there I think the thing about outdoor experiences or really anything in life if you find somebody or somebody's people to do these things with you're gonna find that you can really enjoy it because a big part of the travel experience is about being with other people and in truly how can opening your mind to to new thoughts and and new experiences so I just kind of recommend that if you're if you're an anti winter person probably so so often you don't please just give a chat and go out with friends and family and maybe just walk somewhere find a trail a go out and enjoy a bundle up appropriately because you know that's a big part of if you're not comfortable you're not can enjoy it that much and and and do it so I know you're a big downhill skier you've been doing that a lot what are some of the other things that you really enjoy about outdoor experiences in Michigan what are some of the activities that that you really at like to do well as I was explaining earlier about snowshoeing that's something that I love to do personally my girlfriend and I get out and do it as often as we can but also you talked about the camaraderie yeah and it's such a great opportunity where you know I have friends who are not have a downhill skiers and it takes a lot of time and and in time for people to learn how to get instruction get lessons and all those things snowshoeing you don't have that you can get a pair snowshoes they're available for rental many places a lot of the resorts have them get a group together and go out and do it when I lived in traverse city we did a did a Friday night the social hike quite often around hickory hills they might not weary up at night in the trails around the ski area there and an outside downtown Trevor city are light enough for he can get out then you go to sliders tavern or you had around the fireplace it really is about time spent with friends and family and enjoying the time together outdoors what we are talking about Bob Frye earlier from cross country ski headquarters in Roscommon and he was talking about how they offer this beginner's class ten thirty on Saturdays I think he said and so that's the thing I think it's also really important that you learn how to do some of these more technical things from people who really know how to do it I didn't start downhill skiing and tell us about twenty five twenty six and I learned how to ski from these friends of mine who were there in their eighties and but Jack Griffin and Ricky Griffin in Fremont they really wonderful people and they were they were kinda known at around the the ski world in Michigan as the the silver strikers because they like to be out there and they had that beautiful silver here well they taught me how to ski downhill and I'll never forget being on the top of think of it and was on the shanty properties or crystal I forget but I member just kind of you know he for the first time feeling the although the wind goeth you know by your face in through your hair and whatever it is you're you're going down that hill and you're you're you're watching the snow go buying you're trying to keep your skis in the right position and keep your hands with the polls to to give your balance when you need to and just going down that and just feeling the energy and love the fun and having my friends along that's something you never forget mmhm and that's something that you can really enjoy something unique and it doesn't have to be something you do every weekend to enjoy with me I only downhill ski maybe once or twice a year we cross country more often but something really unique that I've also really enjoyed because it kind of the rush that it provides is something is unique is losing now I've been on the loose in Muskegon at the Muskegon sports complex a few times and that is a blast I think you need to challenge yourself to try new things every so often absolutely to really better understand who you are and maybe who you're not well you know I I want to go back for a second to that experience you have where you stood on top of the mount of the first time yes some people working with you and you really enjoyed the exhilaration of of yelling on the side of a man on a pair of skis it's a rush I would highly recommend for those whether you're of new skier when you're two or three or four years old or whether you're getting to the sport little bit later in life have one of our certified professionals around the state give you lessons it makes that experience very similar the one you have David makes it you're able to enjoy it much easier and quicker if you have a professional take lessons yeah our son actually learn from people at Canonsburg and crystal and he is to this day an excellent skier you know so it to your yet to the point if you if you're really kind of you to learn from people who are really good that's the way to do it but you know that the thing is you don't have to actually do these kind of athletic supporting activities to enjoy winter a lot of people actually just want to be in the atmosphere in these places so very popular thing for people to do is to go to a crystal or a pointer shanty or tree tops maybe one of these resorts up north in the U. P. as well and just be in that area be with other people who are skiing and I kind of watch them enjoy all that fun to be part of it usually there's a you know a fire or you know blazing away in the you know the the live version enjoying some food and drink and all that and just being with people enjoying the out of doors enjoying unique experience like that it's a really healthy thing I think for people to get out there well and the destination have really been become great at accommodating everybody in the winter months yeah you know whether it's an ice skating rink or whether it's dog sledding which is available in a number of places now you can get up there and find a wonderful experience whether it's indoors or out at these definitions something relatively simplistic but super fun tree tops resort has their their hill where you have these like inter to tell the tubing is huge and it's yes it's so much fun shady creek does as well I know the point folks who have some things going even has a zip line the you can take her there was was specifically made for winter I know as a lining I think about that you think of zip lining normally for summertime but this was actually made for for wintertime experiences so if you go to Boyne grand mountain you have the water park is part of that that time there so again don't have to feel like you've got to be a skier to enjoy winter experiences especially those up north experiences there snowmobiling there is there there are so many other things that you can do let's not forget the spas either day following your travel to have a relaxing weekend places like crystals by mountain grand spa and other places wonderful experience to do that as well yeah now we do our best to keep you informed on all of these.

"It's it's what I describe as like a lot of places, but coastal snobby nece is a real thing and people don't even realize they're doing it. They're just genuinely asking a curious question. They're like, so would you guys ever have used forks or is that? Yes. We use plastic Fourche all the time. What about the other way around? I mean, you're a guy who left Toledo Ohio very intentionally. Yeah. And have lived in New York in Los Angeles for a long time. Yeah. What is the misunderstanding? The other way around. I think they've got it. Right. I think it's pretty right? No. I don't know. I think I think it's pretty similar thing where you just take the most extreme types of people from any place and forget that everywhere has got a variety. And in fact, there's like a backlash to that wherever you're living. So I feel like if living in LA now if anyone is about to say a very LA sentence. They like have disclaimers and apologize. I, and it's not like anyone here's embracing the fact that we all, you know, it's mostly liberal place that loves avocados or something if you start to say a sentence like that you say, I, and I know I sound looking idiot when I say this, but. I mean, Los Angeles does have not just one, but a chain of restaurants where every item on the menu as an affirmation. That is a real chain of businesses. What are they what do you mean? They're like, you're a good person is the name the burger a good person. So in order to order it at the counter you give yourself in Africa nation. I mean, it's a lot. There's a lot of that kind of thing going on and certainly in Manhattan, just the type of money and fame that I was around working at SNL is just kind of overwhelming and weird. The funny thing is a lot of people that live in New York in L A R transplant. So there, you know, you're talking to a nice person from Idaho who ended up getting into making documentary films and lives here. Now, it's not all LA born people. It's always fun when you meet one, and they're like, yeah. Grew up a mile from here espec-, especially in Manhattan. I was always fascinated by that I was like Simon rich worked with a lot. He he runs like miracle workers nowadays rights law. Great books, and he grew up in Manhattan. And I would just ask them about it all the time. And I'm like, so when you were ten and you were like it's time to go out and play I'm on summer break. You went down to like fifty third and Broadway and played what he's like we could sometimes find one empty basketball cord on the Upper West side. But then bigger kids would kick you out pretty quickly. It's just sounds stressful to me even more with Mike O'Brien in just a bit. After a break. We'll Jack Griffin the protagonist of AP bio ever become a good person. Stay tuned for the answer. It's bullseye for maximum fun dot org. NPR? Support. For bulls eye end the following message. "I'm Jesse thorn. It's bullseye. We've seen AP bio the sitcom on NBC to show about high school or maybe kind of about the idea of high school. Most of it focuses around a guy named Jack Griffin. Played by Glenn Howard, tan, you might know as Dennis on. It's always sunny in Philadelphia. Been basically perfect for fifteen years or have a long that shows been running anyway AB bio if you haven't seen it. Here's the premise Jack used to teach philosophy at Harvard, and now he doesn't so to make ends meet. He gets a job teaching advanced placement biology at a high school in his hometown Toledo, Ohio. He's missing throbbing and not a loveable Misanthrope really just a grumpy jerk who thinks that if the world where a fair place he'd be getting a MacArthur, genius grant, or whatever. And maybe you're thinking you've seen this kind of show before the teacher who comes back home. And then he grows as a person becomes lovable and relatable. And then he discovers maybe there's a little more depth to his dopey students than he thought, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, but AP bio, isn't that show? I mean in the very first episode Jack stands up in front of the class and says exactly that here's the deal. I do not care about biology. We're not gonna do any biology and to be. Perfectly clear. This will be one of those things where over the course of the year. I secretly teach it to you. This also won't be one of those things where I ended up learning more from you than you do for me. I know more than all of you combine. So that doesn't make any sense. Gwen Howard tan is also backed up by a tremendous supporting cast, including patent Oswald, and Paula Pell and some very funny and smart teenagers. It's created by my guest. Mike O'Brien who grew up in Toledo. He's a longtime writer on Saturday Night Live and a veteran of the second city in Chicago before we get into my interview with Mike here's a little bit from the show's newest season..
