"And what was the diagnosis? He had a herniated disc in his neck. And so as a player, you have the right to go see a second opinion doctor, and the second opinion doctor told Jack that he had two options with surgery. One is a fusion surgery, which is very common. Another is an artificial disc replacement surgery. It had never been done on an NHL player before. However, we have seen in other sports like UFC and the thing about ADR is we don't have a lot of long-term data on it. However, it's a much shorter period of recovery, and there's a much lesser chance that you'll need future surgeries later in life. Okay, so there's this medical question about how to best treat this injury. When does the dispute and disagreement between eichel and his employers buffalo sabers over how to best do that, how does that emerge? It came to a head this year. Michael then dug his heels. He did all of the research and they said, the ADR, the artificial disc replacement surgery is what I want. I've talked to all these doctors. I've seen these specialists knowing my body and knowing that I'll have a lesser risk of future surgeries in life and knowing that I'll be able to get on the ice much quicker. This is what I want. And he told me that initially he thought that buffalo was on board with that. And then their doctor dug their heels and said, no, this has never been done on an NHL player before. We don't want to assume the risk. We think the fusion surgery where we have all of this data to back it up that it's been successful for multiple players in the past is the right way to go. They were keen on me doing a fusion. And I didn't feel comfortable doing that. I had spoke to people who had fusions and I had spoke to people who had the disc replacement. And I had spoke with a lot of doctors and it was just at that point. I felt like the best move for me would be to do the disk replacement. So that's sort of what I set my mind on. And buffalo's opinion never really changed. You know, it was interesting because at the beginning, I thought they were more on board with the disk replacement, and then for whatever reason, things changed. And both sides really dug their heels. Neither was willing to budge to the point where they stripped icle of his captaincy. They say he fails his physical and the only path forward is for them to help facilitate a trade to a team that will allow Michael to get this surgery. And so in November, Emily, the Sabres finally relent and Jack eichel gets sent to the Vegas golden knights and what happened next for him. Jack got the ADR surgery in November, he was back skating in December, cleared for contact about a month later than that and three months later is back in game action. If he had gotten the fusion surgery, he would be sidelined for far longer than that. And we talked about a situation where he was risking missing this entire season. And so Jack eichel is clearly like bristling at the paternalism of his employer, who is saying, we know what's best for you, your asset here, to use the vocabulary of sports in the modern day. How did he describe what was ultimately the divorce from the Sabres in terms of just the emotional aspect of it? As open and honest as Jack is, he's also a hockey player. It inherently he has trained never to make the story about himself. And when I was talking to him, he did try to remain neutral as much as possible, but I could still tell that it hurt so much that when you read between the lines, you can tell he does not think that he was treated fairly at the end. I was frustrated. If you think about the reason why he took a captaincy away for me, it was because I didn't agree with you medically. And then you basically told me not to come around for trading camp. So at that point, I just felt like they were toying with me. So I was just, I was pretty over it. I mean, we see disputes over how to best rest and recover and have medical procedures across sports Emily, but we seldom see it as clearly and simultaneously as messily referring to the drama you just described as we did with eichel, what is the NHL's collective bargaining agreement say about who actually has the final say over a dispute like this, which seems to be at the core of this particular story. So the NHL CBA is very explicit. NHL teams have the final say over how players treat injuries. Now, after this situation with eichel, a lot of people were up in arms, saying, that's absurd. How can that be possible? Players should have the right to say what happens to their own bodies and their own futures because again, these type of surgeries don't just affect a player in the time that they're under contract with the team. But for years later in their life and they should be able to determine the best course of action. You know, I talked to the NHL pa about this and I said, is there a groundswell of support for change? And they said, unfortunately not. And basically, these type of things need to be brought to the negotiating table and they're easiest to when there are collective bargaining talks. We just signed a new CBA in the NHL. And because this is something that happens once every 8 years or you know, we really haven't seen many disputes quite as bombastic as eichel's. There isn't this groundswell of support. You know, this was something that the NHL brought up in negotiations, I believe, and after the 2012, 2013 lockout and it was something where the owners were just not willing to budge on and therefore the players didn't fight back. And in this past collective bargaining agreement talks, I was told that issue wasn't brushed at all because the biggest things they were dealing with at the time were returned to play protocols with COVID, as well as participation in the Olympics. And those were the two things that the players were really digging their heels in. And now Jack eichel seems to be an example, Emily, of player empowerment, to use another term that modern sports has seen a lot of. Does he see it that way though? Is he an advocate for player health now because of the way that he very publicly litigated his own personal matters? You know, I asked him explicitly if he viewed himself as an advocate going forward. And he said, I don't know if I'd call myself an advocate. I would say maybe I'm an example. And I'm an example of somebody who went against what their team thought was best for them and stood up for what they wanted and there was a baseball player who was the first guy to get a Tommy John and you can go down the list of things like that. So hopefully it just opens a new door for players to deal with an injury if they have it. That example was tested pretty early though because right after Jack eichel got this ADR surgery in November, Tyler Johnson of the Chicago Blackhawks had a similar neck injury. And Jack eichel and Tyler Johnson share an agent, Jack got on the phone with Tyler and because he did all the research and he did all the homework. It was up to Jack to basically relay all this information to Tyler and Tyler then got the artificial disc replacement surgery. I do believe one of the reasons the Chicago Blackhawks were willing to sign off on it so quickly is because Jack had already gotten it, but you'll see he's already making an impact in that area. And now Jack eichel's body is the best case for this procedure that he risked his whole career on, basically, how has his season been like with Las Vegas as their newest star post surgery? Well, we have a very small sample size because he just debuted in February. I asked Jack if he was feeling close to a 100%. He's like, I'm not there yet, but I'm getting there. I'm not there yet. I think whenever you take as long of a break as I took off, it takes a little bit. You know, I'm just trying to stay patient through the process. It's a process. And if I could just keep getting better every game and start feeling more and more like the old Jack, I'll be happy. He went nearly a year without playing it at NHL game and Sergey or no surgery. It just takes time to find your timing again and your footing. He did score his first goal with a third game with a team. And brought all alone with Stevenson back to Michael east scores. Jack eichel, his first goal as.

"So Emily, you were in Buffalo for the big golden knight Sabres game, Thursday night, which buffalo won three to one. But the real story there was the homecoming that Jack eichel got. And this was a frosty reception for a former star of the team from the crowd in Buffalo. Here we go, the return of Jack eichel in Buffalo. Is underway. Eyeball the eyeball with tage Thompson. Michael wins the battle. He has the puck. Can you see already? And he already, the boos are underway. And it's a reception that stems from an especially bitter breakup that eichel had with the sabers. Over a dispute about his neck injury. It's a dispute that raised really big and serious questions about whether an athlete actually controls their own medical care, whether they actually control their own body. And you got this exclusive interview with eichel before the game. What was he like? First, I love talking to Jack eichel. I find him to be one of the most honest players in the game. I remember there was a player media tour a couple years ago when he was in Buffalo. And I asked every player that came and sat down in my station, when was the last time you cried? And like every single player was like, this is such a dumb question on that answering it. I love that question. Thank you. You would answer it. And you know who else answered it, Jack eichel, and I remember he goes, I remember when I cried last, it was last week. I was on my laptop on YouTube watching videos of military families coming home and reconnecting with their families. And I was sobbing. I was like, Jack, thank you. It was so authentic. And so sitting down with him now, at age 25, you see this player who has come into his own, you know, he was a top pick whose career hasn't gone exactly how he wanted yet. He found individual success, but he was never able to carry a team. The Sabres had the longest playoff drought in the league, which is going to extend this year, and that clearly graded on him because he's just this passionate. Again, authentic, honest guy, especially as a captain. And the way things ended in Buffalo was really bitter. So he got what he wanted and sitting down with him. I just saw a guy who was reflective who realizes this is a very important juncture in his career and he's ready to make the most of the second chance. Does it feel like to play for a team that has legitimate expectations to win a Stanley Cup this year? It's a pretty awesome feeling when you get here and they don't set the bar at making the playoffs. They don't set the bar at winning the division. They set the bar winning the Stanley Cup and everything you do and everything that's done around here from the medical staff to the equipment guys everyone's on the same page and knows that that's what the goal is at the end of the year. And they do everything to give you the best chance to win and perform and worry about playing hockey and you can't ask for anything more. So before Jack eichel ever got to Vegas, Emily, before he was drafted by the Sabres in 2015 before he languished there at a playoff draw for 6 years before he ever injured his neck, which will obviously get to. Where did he come from? What makes him a special player on the ice? First, I call the kid for Massachusetts. He came up through the U.S. national team development program and then he played for Boston University, where he was only the second freshman ever to win the hobie baker award, which is awarded to the top college hockey player in the country. So early on, scouts talked about him as this natural leader, a super competitive guy who could lift the guys around him. He's got a great wrist shot. I think he's known more for his vision and playmaking abilities though. He debuted in Buffalo at age 19 and his rookie season. He was already leading the team in goals. Full steam ahead gets in over the Washington line and dragging two and took a shot of scores. Jack Michael. My what a play. Coming soon to a theater near you. Sick mitts. Starring Jack eichel. And I had a year three, eichel signed this 8 year $80 million deal that made him the highest paid player in franchise history, and at age 21 they named him the captain. So franchise centers, they don't grow on trees. I think in any other year, he would be drafted number one if it wasn't that Connor McDavid year. And this was a player that buffalo was super excited to build its entire franchise around. Yeah, the hype around him in Buffalo, what made him so good and so promising and did they get the return on that investment? The issue with Jack is that he is a super fiery competitive guy and he was finding individual success. He just didn't have the talent around him. It's never easy to lose and you have expectations every season and you look for success both personally and as a team and when we weren't able to find that team success, it was definitely tough at times. And no matter how much you want to rile up his teammates, the truth was they never had a playoff caliber team. And that was I know that was very frustrating on him. He wanted it so bad and he wanted to win. But he just didn't have the right guys to pass to or the right guys to defend or the right guys in net. You know, you're filtering out coaches and GMs and it wore me out and I'm sure it were a lot of guys out. It's not easy. You can feel the pressure there and the pressure to have success and win and when you're not able to do that, it definitely takes.

"I just like to do that. How much how much does the travel improve? I mean, you first play with the monarchs back O 6 O 7 heritage, you know, 14, 15 years later, is it much improved? Is it similar, what's your opinion? The bus are still shitty and the subs are still. And I still ain't tipping in the cup. Hershey, you got catered meals after every game. Oh my gosh. On the road? Yeah, yeah, oh yeah. Yeah, Hershey does it right dude. That's a nice arena too. I remember is it still giant arena? There used to be this fan. But they didn't have a lot of fans when I was playing it. Oh, they had this fucking fan behind the bench that would just chirp all the most. And they wouldn't kick them out. It was fucking nuts. Is that guy still around just yelling at players? Galante. It's where he learned. Who marine advantage? I don't know, but I mean, all right, the worst travel I ever played in my life is on Ontario. That was the worst travel. Flying. Flying southwest, she's with middle row. Cattle call. You are paying 60 60% taxes. Level four boarding. Middle row while the rookies sit on the IELTS. I just had a little bit of a block. But recovered because you played with another great, not just Jack, I go Ryan O'Reilly before he was traded out of buffalo. Tough trade. That's a backbreaker. Give me your honest opinion when you saw that trade. Well, I mean, I tweeted when he won the consequence I kind of trolled them a bit. I said, oh, I think my tweet was like, congratulations, Ryan O'Reilly, Sam, who's blues, hashtag, one of traded that guy. Oh, you might want to keep that guy or something. Yeah yeah yeah. Whoopsie daisy. I mean, is that guy? I mean, it's not his, obviously, I got along tremendous with him. He's an unbelievable guy and his brother, Callahan. Just great, great Irish boys. They know to have fun and work hard and they both tremendously skilled, but like snuck was. Why do you call them stuck? Well, his parents had a foster home when he was growing up him and his brother growing up at a foster home and there was a lot of Ryan's that came through the house. So I think it's actually snook SNO okay is Irish for Ryan. Because there was so many Ryan's in the house that they called Brian snook. So yeah, okay. You first on the ice last off the ice every single day and just tremendous person. Were you aware of the relationship between him and his father and how he would help him with the mental aspect of all of it? His father, I think he's not a sports psychologist. Of course psychologists. He was sports psychologists for San Jose at the time. I don't know if he is with the sharks and more. I don't know if he's still there, but yeah, because I was going through some dark periods there in Buffalo and he definitely reached out to me. He's like, if you want to speak to my dad, you can speak to my dad, he can. He knew I was going through some tough times and he reached out to me and told me to talk to his father for like, so he was he was always there for you after he did. Geez, probably got his father a shitload of business from buffalo from a couple years..

"Mean, I love. I loved living in Buffalo, obviously I needed to I needed to make money for my family as well. I was a big big contract at the time. But yeah, I mean, I loved living there. We had a great group there. Obviously, things didn't work out. The way I wanted to, but like we said, we go through everything for a reason. It was a good experience. Was it you brought up The Rookie party of when you were at the islanders? I think what teed it up for me. I totally forgot that you were there. We somehow ended up on this same party bus, and then you guys out coming back to Wayne Gretzky's place. But I'll say this, Dwayne rollston probably the drunken guy. I have ever. I've heard hilarious stories about him being waffled. I mean, he liked he liked his wine. You're getting those stories confused. That was Tampa. Very close. All right, never mind fuck. I think never mind. It was teddy with Dwayne rolls. It sounds like nice Wayne has everything illegal. I think you guys ended up at that after hours as well, didn't you? Yeah, we did. I think that's the one you're talking about. There was one season legit. I think they were rookie parties. Rookie bus as well. Yeah, there you go. Every rookie party in the league basically. I was like, what are these rookie parties? Just every team coming to town. Hey, I can take care of you. Let's line up this rookie party. Well, he says it like we ended up on the same bus. We weren't taking the metro here. You ended up on our rookie party bus. Yeah, we went. Arizona we went out and then we went to eat and went out and then it was you and Yan's both of you on our this is the first time ever met you. I remember introducing myself to you. My youngest brother in law Brett was a big fan of the business, the account. Yeah. You're kind of just starting at that time. And I remember introducing myself and then next thing I know this guy's on the bus of me, so. That's crazy. You ended up on there too. So teddy teddy ended up probably telling more Dwayne rolls and rolls and stories than anybody. Yeah, he's the theme as liquid rolls in. But before that, he was quit duano. Liquid. He just all he did was just get shutouts and brought us all the Eastern Conference Finals and then war is affliction t-shirts and had his long hair. He looked like splinter a little bit. Hell of a guy gets up the puck though. He liked the old wine mouth guard. Kind of like a kipper saw. The wine get crippled with fans, hack butts where the worst clothes and just like, it just finds a way to stop the pot. Just every, let him run ride it. I remember the first time too, hopefully lick was not listening to this. He gets traded us and he's in tap, and he's probably 40th at the time. We're at this bar and in Tampa and we go out there before Uber so all of a sudden it was needed a cab. Well, the cab driver came up, hopped liquid. Duane, we're going down the street. He's like, we'll get a cab driver takes off military, and we're there a little bit after hours. He had a bear in his hand. Cab took off and liquid was not happy. So now he's trying to play a quarterback. He takes the bear bottle and just chucks it up. Thank God the cab was gone. Cab was probably hundred feet in front of him, liquid thought he was going to hit it. But this is a good introduction. We're going to like this guy. A NBA draft suits to get the worst suits I've ever had to rookie parties on my holy fuck about what you need 5 buttons for you. You swim into that. He could jump off this building here in New York and land on his feet like a butterfly. It's like one of those guys that jumps off the mountain and they turn into that. Yeah, the squirrel suit. That's perfect. Hey what's up guys? Hey, guys. Guys in Edmonton said liquid dwindled, though, if he hadn't got hurt, they would have won the copper against Carolina. I think they're convinced, but they lost him. He was a horse in the playoffs. It's like being in a perfect liquid glaze where you just got that complete guilty feeling just riding the coaster, baby. I think I had a little bit of a liquid dwindle at year I called her cup party this. Oh, man. You've probably came back because you guys ended up clenching it when you were there. Because you guys had were you guys had to run at some point, didn't you? Yeah, we lost her. Oh, of course. 'cause that's why I can't beat him, join him. Yeah, exactly. They're paying everybody on one way. They're like the University of Michigan or the AHL. They're London. They're smart, they're smart. So that's where you're at right now in Hershey. Yeah. The kids play. It's beautiful. Sweetest place on earth. What's the rule? Is it still, you can only have like four or 5 vets in the lineup every game? Is that wrong? Or one Dwayne ralston? One bit of the other. I don't know. They changed the rules every year. I think there's something there's like in between vets now. They're like, I'm making more than I was in Buffalo. It's awesome. I don't know about that one. Did you live what Ike when you were in Buffalo for a bit when he was a rookie? Yeah, he lived. He lived with the Molson crew. You took him under you guys wing? I did. I remember I actually just crushed rods in your basement. What? Who said that? I actually didn't know Jack at all. I never never even knew him and Michael connell at the colder cup party in Manchester for in Manchester. Michael connell saw me, and it was had to be late June right before the draft. And he's like, you gotta take this icho kid. If you get strapped to the buffalo, you gotta have them live with you. And I was like, all right, they don't really know them. All I've seen is Bud Light video, buffalo, I'm coming for you. And I was like, okay, 'cause Michael connell's niece was married to Jack's. I get previous agent. He's like, I'll put you in touch with him. I'm like, okay, so he ends up. This guy was harder to get in touch with than the president and trying to call him. I was like, listen, it's mam Olson. I'm in Buffalo. You just got drafted by buffalo, you could live with me if you'd like if you don't. It's up to you. Maybe a good situation. And then anyways, we ended up working it out and he lived with he lived with me, my wife and the two kids and we had we had quite a time. He told the story about running out of gas on the highway was that you and the car with him on the way to the game? Yeah, absolutely. I wanted to murder. I wanted to. He told it perfectly. He told it exactly. You were flipping I bet. He even said.

"With the islanders. And then we put that training camp. We played the craft hockey ball game and tariff BC. So I don't understand. We had training camp in Regina, I think. Saskatchewan. And we play this Kraft hockey ball game in Paris D.C., fly out there the day of and it is, I mean, we had chicken chicken pasta salad and Super Mario. That was our meal. We go into the game. It was one of the worst games I ever played in my life. I was like, I should have just went and tried to get a job on Wall Street. That's what I should have done. That was a mistake. I should have just tried to use my use my degree, get the job. Second game I play in the saddle dome, cow posts though, I'm on the fourth line that game. Kylie posto gets hammered by Deon fun of conky, we have bench clearing brawl basically. The guys are jumping over the boards fighting. Mad Martin's fighting I think is a Pascal morenci. Oh yeah. I play with him with wheeling nailers. I remember he jumped off the bench. He was fighting. So guys are getting booted. Somehow go from fourth line to power play. Score on kipper soft on the one. I was like, all right, here we go. Start to get some confidence. Score again. So we get two goals, I think dougie weight, Sean bergenheim, both growing both growing injuries that can't so they can't play. I get put on Johnny's line. I think I scored every game I played on Johnny's line and then started the season with Jenny and I just took off from there. Shit. It's crazy how you've had a couple instances of just right timing and everything. It's just so true in making a long career. I don't matter how good of a player you are. Yeah, I mean, this is the way I tell people with kids and stuff I'm like, I mean, I was an idiot. I always thought that if you worked hard enough, where that was like, oh, if you work hard enough, you'll make it. I was like, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Let's do that. But it's like complete luck. I know. At some at some point. Injuries. I know, it's just crazy to think about. There's so many good players that play professional hockey. East coast AHL. Even in the east coast, something good players are AHL, like all star. That perfect timing sometimes. And I've been very fortunate to have that. We pissed me. Would they Pis they only offer you a one year deal after that? After that first one? Yeah, the fact of that first year? Yeah, with the island. Yeah, so that first year, obviously, I played I played with Johnny a lot and everyone likes to give Johnny a lot of credit. He did not assist on most of my goals that year. Franz Nielsen did. He led because I remember after this year I had to go to arbitration. Oh, no. Smallhorn is a terrible breath, guys, hate them. Cornell nerd. Don't invite them all for beers. Straight hair curly teeth. Yeah, I went to arbitration that year, so I actually went, I was sitting in the room with the arbitrator and my agent wait arnad and gerst knowing that going in the hallway as I was sitting in there and came up with the one year, that was my first ever one way, so and it was, I think it was $2.4 million. The most ever made was 5 75 before that. So no, I was not disappointed already. I was like your old man. We'll take it. I was like, yep, deal. I think I popped a ball of crystal that way. But no, I was not disappointed. In that run you had, which is just an amazing few years there, where you were getting 30 goals a year. You must have really wanted to stay there when you did finally become a UFA, right? It's only natural. This has been your home. This is where you got your chance. And at some point, though, it's just so much money. You can't really turn it down. Am I correct in saying that? Well, correct in saying that I wanted to, again, I'm an idiot. I wanted to retire there. I was like, I want to play my entire career with you Andrews. It had nothing to do with money. I remember getting so angry at this, 'cause there was like reports saying, oh, he wanted this much. My agent never talked to Garcia about one time. Up coming to that last year of my deal, being a free agent, not one time that they talk about money, never, I was never approached about it, nothing. I was just, I got treated. I got a call and everyone over at my house for football Sunday and then I got to call it 8 p.m. after guys left saying I got traded to buffalo and I will gars and I was like, Gardner was calling me. I told my wife, I was like, garst knows calling. We got traded. And she's like, how do you know? I was like, because the guy's not calling me at 8 p.m., but I didn't get traded. You had a good line? Hey, you got a good line in the game. Yeah. Garrett, we just traded you. And I was like, to wear. And he's like, buffalo. And they're in last place. And I hung up the phone. You know? You didn't say nothing. Legit hung up on him? I just hung up. I was fucking pissed. My wife was crying. I mean, we had like that's how they're falling off. That team to this to this day is still tight, and I believe it's because of the group we had coming up during then we were just weird just so tight and they've kept it that way. You had such a good start to that year or two of 6 talks in those 11 games and then you go over to buffalo like how is the transition where you poopy pants for the first couple weeks still given how bitter you were about getting traded?.

"And we were down 6 nothing, I think, I think with like 16 minutes to go in the second period. And at one point, he had a breakaway and Jason strudwick chased him. And I think I've told this before and study is grinding, just chasing after Gabriel. And he just goes down and buries the horn, the song and starting after the game goes, we could have skated to China. And I wouldn't have fucking caught him. We could have skate, that could have been a never ending arena and I never would have even gotten close. So I wish I could get the clip of that. If you could pull up a breakaway goal against the oilers and 11 on an afternoon game. He was the man. So he went to LA and who knows if they win that he was sick and playing fucking goals in a place obscene. I mean, obviously quick he was unreal and deserve the kind of 14 talks that year. They won games two to one. So that was probably 30% of the team's goals that run. Yeah. Yeah, he was unreal. So congrats to Marian gabrich on his retirement. I'd love to. I'd love to get him on here. I'd love to have you on the show some day, man. He had the sickest whips going into LA training camp. I think really? Oh yeah, just one of those guys that had every top of the line Ferrari. Aaron. What were his career earnings? What's your guess? I would say that he's got to be 90 million. 90 million. Look it up. I'm looking to look it up. I'm going to move along. We got a couple more notes like I said before we get old time Matt Molson. Carrie price rejoined the Canadians on Monday after entering the NHL's player assistance program. 96 million. I'm pretty good at that game. You are pretty good because you're a money guy. So welcome back to the league to carry price. Hopefully he's doing good. Jake Allen, this is an interesting note biz. The first Montreal goalie not named Carrie price to record a shout out versus the red wing since Jose Theodore on January 11th, 2000 appel. So it was a long time. It is a long time. They have that. That gap, a couple more here. William Carlson of four to 6 would have broken foot for Vegas. Columbus's Patrick lined out four to 6 with an oblique strain. The thumb wash the video game. Anthony mantha had should I always have struggled this one. Shoulder surgery after Thursday's game versus Florida out indefinitely and Arizona defenseman Connor Timmons expected to miss the rest of the season with a D injury. Yeah, I think the hit was in Florida. And then somebody came in and they had to fight, but that sucks man. That was a big piece for the coyotes coming over in that Darcy temperature. We found that we're hoping turns into a top four top four guy. We need some of those types of players. Hate to see boys get hurt, but we like to make people aware in case they hadn't heard. So like we said, we got Matt Molson coming up at first. We want to let you know that this interview is brought to you by our friends at shady rays. Just because the cold weather is coming doesn't mean you put the shades away, especially when they are shady race. They look great and they work better, but the best thing might be the warranty. Replacements if shades are lost or broken for any reason. That means if you're dropping the ocean, you leave them on the golf course, anything shady rays will replace them. You try that way, you high priced shades. Yeah, good luck with that. So even with that strong of a warranty, they still managed to make unreal quality shades that just seemed to be as good as any expensive that I've ever won. The polarized lenses that look perfectly clear and they thought it just $48. Shady rays also provides ten males to fight hunger in America with every order placed, and they have donated donated over 20 million meals to date. They stand behind their product and they told that team, if anyone has a problem, they throw profit out the window and do what it takes to get it right. And again, that warranty, I mean, you lose them, you get new ones. You can not beat that. Also you get free returns and exchanges so you either love the shades or shady rays will pay to ship them back. That's it. It's simple. I've been wearing it for ages. I love them. They look great. You should get some too. You do that by using the code chiclets for 50% off two or more peers at shady raised dot com. So basically, you buy one, you get one free.

"I mean, it's great. All these Canadian sites who put these stats out and you just to see how so many young guys like, you know, whether it's McDavid or a hues, my car, any of these guys, they're just doing unreal stuff. Troy Terry and 11 game point streak, it's the longest of the season so far. 8 goals 6 assists for the ducks and other team that's been doing good 15 points and 13 games third in the Pacific, probably not where a lot of people would have had them. Have you seen much of them this year? Not really. I thought they were going to be junk. So I'll probably be tuning into a few more games. That's definitely one guy they needed to step up. I wasn't sure where it was going to go. But, you know, this year he seems to be kind of driving his own offense and really taking control of his line. Now, this is one of those teams. I'm anticipating a crash where they're not going to be able to sustain it. There's a few of those teams. But with the goaltending they got in Gibson, you just never know, right? You could write a guy like that. He's a fucking freaking net and I want to say over the last 5 years, probably one of the best goal tenors all around. If he can stay healthy. Yeah, and get stuff becoming the all time leader point. Is it all time leading for points for the all time Doc's point? Oh, really cool thing on the ice, a little ceremony with salani came on the ice and presented him something because he passed him. And it was just, it's a team that I think is surprising a lot. I'm with you biz, like is this gonna last? I mean, Troy Terry, the way he's looked, I understand there's definitely some hope this mason mctavish is young, the tip top three pick this year, I think he was. So they got young talent, but he just looked incredible. Yeah, and so I think like maybe a little bit quicker than people thought but in the end, I don't think they get in. I thought they'd be real bad, but that division, that's what I bring it up. That division, there's gonna be shockers there this season. You've already kind of seen how it's gonna play out. So we'll see where Vegas sits and we're Anaheim sets. Nobody saw that even with the injuries. A few more notes before we get to Matt moulson. PK sloop in as he's become known as this is getting crazy $1000 K fine for another slew foot. They call the trip in this one again. Trevor segar. I mean, you know, the reason why we were kind of Hammond in harm than the second one came then the third one, it's like, man, like, what are you doing? Oh, I'll take the L on this one. I was the guy defending him after the Reeves incident. Now I still stick to my guns and saying that was yeah, and it may well have been. Everything since it's like, oh my goodness, these people were bang on. This is a reoccurring thing. Now it's just now everybody's looking for it. How much do you think this could go up to? Like, what if these all of a sudden getting fined $50,000 for slew foot? Money on the blood for the foot. One billion dollars. Why don't they just suspend them next one? Well, I think that's what you might see. I mean, if he does another one like that, that's similar, that's obvious. You know, you gotta determine at some point. I mean, 15 grand, that's a lot of money. You see him doing it. They got like video surveillance. He's doing it on the sidewalk. He gave Jersey. He gets the mail, man. Is there a slew foot tab on Pornhub? Oh my God, no. Oh my God, my dick just fell offended. No, no, my dick fell off. The New York ranges, they loaned full and Vitaly crap soft to track to chelyabinsk 'cause I didn't say that. I think so. Of course, he was having some pissy pissy foot. His he fit. He didn't want to. I was trying to fall this offline. There's always like a fancy Russian player that a team gets. And they're like, oh, they're screwed them. Just put them in the lineup and rangers fans have been barking online for this guy. And finally they agreed to let them go back to the cave, but guys, come on, if this kid was good enough, they'd have them the lineup and look how good the teams kicking right now. Other than getting pumped by the best team in Alberta the other night, they are humming along right now. And where's he going to fit in? He's not going to be in your top 6 and you don't want to mess up the role guys. That's why they fucking pay the guys at Google to come in and kind of set the tone on that bottom 6. So there's nowhere for them to fucking play right now. Go develop. I think fans see he scored some highlight real goals that have been on the Internet. Yeah. But my God, it's like, all right, well, I'm pretty sure that they've got a they've got a decent enough look at them now with the rangers that if they're willing to send them back to the KHL, it's like, all right, right now it's not working. So the fans are like, we need this guy. It's like, you don't even know what you're talking about. You've seen some toe drags on the Internet. I mean, if you're going to act like Capri saw, you got to be Capri off. If you want to bitch about playing with the backups and training camp and tax the group chat saying I am playing with these fucking scrubs, you got to show up and put the puck in the net. Would you rather be in hot food or attract a Vince? Isn't that a place where I'd rather live in on the street and hard food? And Hartford's a rough town. Yeah. Yeah. No, is that the place where they smoked that crocodile drug? Is that in track? Crocodile tears. No, that was everyone said that was nuts. All right, Marion gabrich officially retired after last plan in the 1718 season. He had 815 points and a 1035 games played with Minnesota, the ranges, Columbus, the king's and auto, of course, he won the 14 cup with the kings we had 14 goals in 26 playoff games, Minnesota's first ever draft pick in the highest drafted Slovak ever, just a dynamic player with very popular too. Like a more modern day version of Pavel Bure. At least in the first half of his career. Yeah. He was how explosive he was so fast. And he had a tons of injuries, groin problems, his whole career. I'll never forget. We were playing in Pittsburgh. Remember Shane and the card member? How good he was? Well, this is a really good prospect for Pittsburgh. You made the team the after the lockout year and he ended up spraining his ankle and he came back and he was playing injured, and he never really made it, but one of the knights in Pittsburgh is carrying the puck up the ice and the power play and gabrich strips of rice he stripped him for the breakaway. Mike, no, no, Mikey was the coach. Who was the D coach then? Because it was still Ed zo. I don't remember who the decode was. He goes, anyone, but him. Fuck. And he just he absolutely walked either Jocelyn Tebow or Sebastien Quran trout. And I just remember holy shit, this guy, 'cause I'd seen employee right before I got into the league. He was so quick, stronger than he looked on the ice. Could out muscle guys. He'd get that step on you. We drive the net. He had a huge year in New York one year. I think he had over 40 in New York. Our rate rolled his eyes when I made the Pavel Bure comparison. I'd like to know that's because I just said it 5 seconds before you did. Oh, really? Oh fuck. Okay, well, I didn't even hear that. I actually didn't even hear it either. I thought you were. I looked at you, I used to smile back. I thought you were me just say it. Sometimes I'm thinking of what I'm gonna say to you. Hey buddy, I know that's me every show. No wonder you fuck it. A great minds think alike. I wonder if I thought of it subconsciously because you did mention it. But just that explosive power, how many breakaways would you get a game like minimum two? Oh, you always got breakaways. And the other, the other garbage story, we were on the oilers and we played him in an afternoon game. And we were down 6 nothing, I think, I think with like 16 minutes to go in the second period. And at one point, he had a breakaway and Jason strudwick.

"Friends in the comments to win. There's also a shortcut on USA dot com slash chiclets, with the link to end the on Instagram now. You must be 21 plus to buy the papers in a follow the social accounts. Good luck, but I'm a huge guy. I'm willing to put my love for the leafs on the back burner because I'm actually more intrigued by this battle of Alberta going on right now. Because the flames don't look like they're slowing down any time soon. They are dialed into Sutter system. They are getting offense from everybody could chuck chuck goes over the top on mcduck's goal by scrolling the goal of the week on the rangers. That was for you to just troll like that. It's just so ridiculous and between the legs. The legs. I've ever seen in my life, walking through the entire range of team. You're talking about a between the legs goal that went off the goalie's chest and somehow ended up going top shelf. No disrespect to Mac chuck you're an idiot. You're a moron. And by the way, if you want to bring up Calgary and how good they are, maybe chuck out some love to Jacob, markstrom, are boy who is, I think, for shallots already. Yeah. Unreal. It's already. This guy, I saw this guy in the miners. I told you he slept on the bus when we all got off and got less, not bossy already hop over barbed wire. That made the wire. That's when I knew this guy was going to make it. No, he is a freak. He's got all the tools he's tall, he's athletic, and he signed that big deal. And he made a monster. He also made a good point. That since he signed with Calgary, he didn't experience the fans, right? Last year, the bubble, and now he's like, oh my God. This is the Sierra red. And sorry, you're going to be seeing mcduck instead of red at some point this year because my team, the oilers is a wagon. I have not seen anything slow down there. And I'll give credit Calgary looks great. Obviously, Sutter has him dialed in to play a certain way, but the goaltending is what's really taken over. And control being a free agent here. So we got to hop over to make the Ava goal. That was he went through never mind New York, Brooklyn and Bronx queens man. Fucking Georgie upstairs. That was actually good all right. Did you hear that on the broadcast? No. You should be on the broadcast. Can you do that one more time like he's got it? And it comes McDavid. Oh, he goes through Brooklyn, Bronx, squeeze my head and over going unbelievable. Connor McDavid has even shocked himself tonight. Look at his face. Ron McLean, you're done, who else is a play by Kenny Oliver? Sam rose and shaken in his boots right now. So it was a guy for the bruins. Jacket was smoking crack, probably. That's just a joke, everyone. He doesn't smell back just before the game. Just rips the bong before the broadcast. I mean, that goal is just how fast he's able to do it. Exactly. We also waited for who we are to get on side, right? So he's like waiting going east west and just sees that whole boom. The coolest part was biz and I got back. What night was that? Oh, that was Thursday. So Thursday, I was Thursday night. Friday. We were in his room late, just watching hockey. And I took the oilers. I got them at plus four 60 on the barstool sports book down 5 four with four minutes to go. Which I thought was kind of a crazy line. Tie it up. With that team advantage. Plus four 60. So I hammered it. I think I put a grand on there. And I tweeted it out right away. And then all of a sudden, to see them tie it up with that goal. Both biz and I got up and were like running around. It was sick. I was more excited because not because of the battle of Alberta Bette of me shaving my noggin. But more of the fact that you hit that crazy line. And that bet has now been determined that if they both, so you try saying they both had to make playoffs. If one makes playoffs in the other misses, that guy wins. All right, okay. All right. I just wanted to clear that up. How about Sean when we were in the car to go get cheesesteaks, they're down oilers are down four one and he says to the whole car, plus 2000 right now, I love the oilers, doesn't put the bed in. I know. And the deposits are a lot of guys not throwing the bats down but talking about throwing the bets down. I'm a talk about throwing the bat. Oh, I should have done a show. My brother called O biz bad yesterday. So I had this pool, this unreal suicide pool. You pick a team once can't use them again. Just gonna pick a winner every week at the NFL. Huge doll. And I took the cowboys, like, 5 people. No. So I'm talking about this before the game with biz driving to my house when we landed, and he didn't say a word, and all of a sudden the cowboys are down 28 nothing whenever it was in business. Yeah, man. Hold on. You're doing what I looked at those games. I didn't love that game. And my brother who wasn't even part of the conversation calling goes, dude, you can't be saying now that the game's over there. He wasn't the toys. That just say something to me then. I have animated features when I went like this in the car, I was like, I'm driving, bro, I don't see your animals. Oh, yeah. Cheers. Well, then you should look over next time. I should say your nose and the peripheral. What was the worst loss Sunday yesterday? I don't know who you are. Buffalo Bills, getting deep by Jacksonville. I'm talking as far as going down to the wire and getting dict he's thinking you're going to win. Fucking bought them all, man. I hadn't found 6 and a half. They were losing all game. They were fucking fucking Minnesota late, take the 7 point lead fourth in like 11. All they gotta do is hold their Kirk Cousins gets fucking first down. They end up going in time to get the worst. Losing all game and that was a huge fucking swing band. It was one of those losses. That's right. We're going to get a GoFundMe going. They build me out. They fucking need to. He's going to take over Micheletti's job on TNT's. And new announcer there isn't need money. Boys, the Detroit red wings. Wagon. Fun to watch again. 6, 5, two out of the gate, not a lot of people would have thought that would happen. Lucas Raymond 6 goals leads rookie scores 6 goals 8 assists. He's got 14 points and 13 games as of this recording. Only eisenman fed her off in Dutch rival way back in the day of headboard through 13 games in red wings history. This kid is on fucking fire.

"First time. Coaching these guys had already won there. And so that was the one thing. The other thing being is I mentioned it when everything was going down as far as their losses and just the morale, the team, Seth Jones, we just stepped in. He's going to say all the right things and say, no, everything that he's saying in a locker room that was resonated with the players. So on and so forth. I just felt that it looked as if though his message was falling on deaf ears. And there was just it was done and it was time to move on. So is that fair to say? It's not the takeaway from his coaching ability. It was just given with all the other bullshit that happened, it probably felt like it was easier just to part ways because now stand the guy who brought him in was gone. It's like, hey, we're gonna just rip this right to the core. Yeah, it made sense. I was actually bombed because Sheldon brookbank got let go as well. I played with brookie and Anaheim, great guys. The assistant coach there. And it sucks to see a body of yours, right? That gets let go, but in terms of getting rid of the coaching staff with calling up front, when a team looks that lifeless, it's like you can have a bad team and they can go out and lose gains. There's different way to lose games. You can compete and you could battle and you can end up losing 5 two with an empty Internet looks bad, but if you watch the game, you saw heart and passion and guys caring. Chicago looked completely. It looks like they were willing to play run and gun every night, but they just like but he wasn't trying, I don't think that was the game plan. It was just and it also you gotta bring it up unfortunately, but flurries struggling, right? I think it's 8 81 save percentage goals against the boat force. So they're not getting goaltending, but they were given up so many chances. It all comes down to when a team looks that bad and that lifeless, you gotta make a change. And so they have. And then against Nashville, they went, Eric king's first game. I think they gave up 21 shots. They looked good. The lowest amount of shots they gave up all year. Sometimes a different voice comes in. It's just what it takes. And Terry and did a great job in Pittsburgh. It just at some point that it wasn't obviously the same scenario where the team starts off one in 9 or whatever. But we weren't doing great and they let them go. I got traded, but bosma came in. They won the Stanley Cup. It's just sometimes the voice gets stale. And I really feel bad for collagen in some sense, and he was set up to fail. Talk about a tough gig. You're the youngest coach in the league and you're replacing a Hall of Famer. So it's like who was a legend in that city. He was fucked from the beginning. He still had that core. And you still had the core who was like, who's this? I'm like older than this guy. So it's like, that could be an example of a coach who coaches again in the NHL. And that's without knowing anything about how habits were and how getting along with players was with Chicago. But he was screwed from the get go. You want to be the guy who replaces the guy who replaces the guy. You know what I mean? I do know. All the time with the voice could steal. It's just whether it's two years, 5 years or ten years. Oh yeah, eventually you can steal it. I know you want to have some. Can I make a prediction here? I think I would say a couple of cockles going to get 30 goals he has zero points. The guy who also said in June last year, Jack Ike will get traded to Vegas. So that's true. That's true. That's always one and one. Tortorella. Oh my God. Oh no. I think Derek king's getting the chance. I was gonna say that. I think Davidson and king, it's same exact situation as what's going on in Florida. Why not just give them a shot? And if they do well, these guys should get the chance. It's almost like every waiting for Florida and Chicago to hire a coach. They got two guys. It could get it done. And also on a potentially shot season. Let's see where he's paying these guys. Right. And then if you're going to want tours, you're going to have to lock them in for three years and there might be somebody better come available in the off season. I think they already announced that they're going to keep king for the rest of the year no matter what. Oh, you think they said they're not going to look for another coach until the season's over. So I'm saying this off season, I think that's when they are. All right, fair enough. But I think he's on an audition. I don't think that even thinking that far ahead to go forward, you said what brunette? I mean, these guys played in the NHL man. These guys have been in the wars. They know what it takes to win. I think that has a lot more effect on players. I actually agree. I think one of player who has a history of winning and yeah, and a history of playing a long long career. Yeah, for sure. And I play with cult and under 18. Like he was a good player growing up. And then I think he ended up playing a little bit with the islanders. I want to say it's an short career ended up getting some concussion. So, yes, I wouldn't expect people to take my word as seriously if I was coaching an NHL team. I haven't been in those. It's like, yeah, if you had the success and not even the success of having tons of points, but playing a lot of games. Right. Guys just have a different different amount of respect. Yeah. If I went into a room too, I'd be like, why are they gonna listen to me? Now maybe you're not gonna be a good coach thinking that way, but it definitely exists in terms of a lot of running and gun mental game going into the beginning of their coaching career. We just mentioned the island there's a couple of times. We have another interview we're going to bring them in a little bit. Matt moulson, another interview we did a little while back. He played in Buffalo as well, but he was on the island for a bit. This is one we did when we were in NYC and we just figured since him and Ike were roommates and they were together when eichel ran out of gas on the way to the arena, which I believe we get into. It's a really a really great story guys. A guy who was in the right place at the right time and worked really hard and never took a day for granted, and he still playing in the American Hockey League with the Hershey bears. And you know, he's going to ride captain very honored to become very cool, viral video of when he got named captain of the Hershey bears last year. And they did it on the jumbotron and he said he got emotional. So this guy loves the game. He's got some great stories and we actually had teddy percell join us as well because they had played together a little bit and he brought out some humor in them as well. So it's going to be a fun time. Yeah, nice little inadvertent segue to later, but the big game over the weekend. I know we.

"Single NHL club. This dude, he made me call him big head. I'm like, dude, he's got he's got a big old dome on him. He came up, and we're doing a raffle, and he won the raffle. He chugged an entire bottle of pink Whitney, or maybe half a bottle up and he just kept chugging. I'm like, oh my God, sure shit his teammate comes out. I'm not kidding two minutes, and he's like, look at my boy right now, big head. He's just puking it all up in the back. Yeah, drink responsibly. He was phenomenal. So what was the other thing about St. Louis? I had to mention, oh, big head. He was the guy who was like hurt locker, taking apart bombs over there. So it's like you just imagine what they've been through and it was like I said, it was an honor to be there. I want to mention all the places that were there because they had the tier one tier two tier three. There was a bunch of 6 different levels. I made sure to reach out to Richie, Devin Richie, the Philadelphia firefighter we became friendly with a couple of years ago. We've stayed pals over the years. So I just want to give a shout out to especially the teams that let me know. We only said Philadelphia on the previous show. So thanks to everybody from Colorado, St. Louis, buffalo, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, the veterans hawk united who we met in Detroit, motor city, Oklahoma, D.C., Dallas, the vagus veterans in Kansas City as well. So thanks to you guys for having us tail. Again, it was an honor for us to be there for you guys and I think we could ever do for you guys just reach out. I don't know if you had any final words, you wanted to add boys. And of course, the last night we were there, we did the live watch for the capitals fires game at tradesman, awesome turnout. Oh, I forgot to tell you tradesmen. This kid comes up to me. He's like, hey, he told me not to say the team. So I won't say UPenn, but it might be a team around there. He plays on the club team. I meant to tell cornelia this. Dude, they got 8 guys all 30 years old in business school, medical school that all had one year eligibility left for like the AC HA. What is it G H so the club hockey like, they are running over teams? These 30 year old guys are living it up like old school, just crushing these calls doing. So I'm like, he's like, yeah, don't match the team. So yeah, you paying good luck. Oh yeah, nobody's going to be able to figure that out. They're probably I couldn't really go, there's 8 of you and he's like, oh yeah, we just we made the team easily and we're just we're patent our staff. Same frat house, the whole caboodle. Right back to the campus. Thanks to everybody who came out Saturday night awesome crowd pack as usual. Huge thanks to the support. Oh, I think, so I think one of the Philly scumbag fans got me. One of the pictures I was grabbed and I remember the guy's face, great guy, big fella in a flyers Jersey, the bright orange one. And as soon as we line up to take the picture, I feel him kind of grab my ass. But for not long enough to where I wanted to call him out on it, you know, maybe it was just an accident. But it did seem like an extended grip. I didn't say anything. Not your cheek. It was like a half squeezed and it was not far from my taint. So it was an HI violation. Let's say. So I kind of like, I noticed it when I retained the picture, but whatever finished, I shake his hand. Hey, thanks for coming. You know, I would never think you had a very happy look on his face, not like he was coming with ill intent. So fast forward a couple hours I'm eating this meal in wit's room because we ordered for after the bar and I'm like sticking to the chair in the room and there's gum all over my ass in that area that that fan had coddled. And I might be overthinking it. This might have just been an accent, but I'll tell you any time I go to sit down and you were in public, I'm usually looking at the seat and make sure there's nothing on it. I just, that's just something I do. So I think that this Philly fan and we got some game tape from there, Sean was buzzing around. Stuck on your asshole. That's one of the scummiest Philly moves I've ever heard of. And people probably think I'm making this up, but you saw my reaction. I didn't mention anything in the room when we were mucking our food. Because, no, you know what? I must have sat on God. You were rattled. And then I was like, that ass grab was in that exact area and that's just too big of a coincidence for me that we're in scumbag Philly territory and I got and I get the gum on my hoop. You were so out to lunch. I took some of your pasta and ate it, you didn't even realize it because you were flipping. Maybe somebody will have the balls to say something online that they got me with the old song gum trick. And if not, we'll go to the game tape. Well, you just mentioned eating guys. We had a little meal Thursday night I think the first night we got in time we hit that little neighborhood bar. And I ordered the steak free steak with the fries. I think that's what they call it. And I think if a menu, I think of a steak is gonna have either rosemary or time as part of the season and they have to put that in the fucking menu because that's like Christmas trees and you fucking beef. Like, nobody said that you did. I don't know. I don't know what they are. I'm sure I would recognize the taste, but I don't know exactly what you're saying. Are you sure it wasn't on the menu? Yeah, because I went back and looked after I said. I was like, is that what I mean? Because if I see rosemary a time around my beef and again, I know people like it, but it's like, man, you gotta tell someone because it's such an overwhelming the feedback from how they call it, but it's like legit Christmas tree flavor. It's a pine. Speaking of time, you probably shouldn't spend any more time on this subject. And we should talk. I love it, you're right. I love you over there. Well, that event was sponsored by pink Whitney and everybody celebrated with it. And you can too by heading over to your local bar and making sure you order some pink Whitney. It's the perfect shot for you and your friends, especially now at the NHL season is in full swing. All right, boys will after months of waiting. Jack eichel has finally been traded in Vegas is where he ends up. Vegas will allow him to get the artificial disc replacement surgery that he wanted. He got a nice little Vegas. Welcome.

"She didn't have to say that ran the oldies. You did but out here anyway. Real estate law now is because i know my house real estate law now is you must disclose right. You must so it's become kind of comical. So here's the deal with eichel He's not very good with the fans. Okay if we use your your nephew as an example you got some very good defense. Not very good in the room or on the ice. No chemistry there the team. That's no good. He's got probably a neck problem but a serious one okay. Here's nicb can't turn his head side to side that may affect his play any failed. The physical mcgahey came in fact brick and saw however. Now let's go open those floodgates with the offers okay. Why wanted time. We're gonna get one at a time plays. We'll take take your time. And i'll tell you what it good make your offer good because we're gonna say you're absolutely right across the board and then on top of that. It's ten million dollars a year. And i think it's four more years or something like that. It's like if. I'm a rival. Gm and i have interest in jackal. Still that might be it. Might be i take them off your hands right. That's it. i what i what my risk is. I have to give this guy ten million dollars a year for the rest of his long contract here. And there's a really good chance that he might not become the same player if he is able to continue at all the for the first five boxes. You wanna tic stevie good guy in you know with the fans healthy beautiful at the players supportive and all that no. There's there's no no no check marks the first five bucks okay. The other shit we can deal with you. Know he's a little late for practice once in a while. You know like that little little needy at the hotel. Whatever steve you know literally on the ice once not bad not bad. We can get away with that. He's jack so well. Good luck to jack. Eichel in the sabers figuring that whole thing out and getting on the same page in getting a deal done and all that but jack eichel is he no longer has the c. Which means you have to spell his last name f. hell e hell now. The sea has gone from idaho. No no i don't ask. you should do stephen. Which team should pick them up. Who's at the auto red blacks okay. That's what they should do and talking about the red blacks there historically bad. Pr dorian thinks. The senators are going to be Well rebuild his over. We'll get into that coming up after these words with dozens of huge insurance companies fighting for your business rates.

"It all come into the Bruins game on the honest media. My name is Evan Mera Dost here because we're having a great day a great week, it is. August development Camp is underway the season, is weirdly right around the corner? We're not right around wage. I mean I guess it's training. Camp begins in September so about another month. But feels like it's right around the corner in a normal year, be kind of right around the corner. But at any rate on today's show off was very, very focused on the position of Center. Obviously Connor and I discussed David krejci has departure what it means for the replacement should be and I brought up a point that I think's pretty good. Maybe they could be better than before with different things. Obviously losing great. She makes you worse but because of some depth signings maybe that helps you out a little bit more in areas that you really needed some help in bath. I don't know, we kind of discussed everything pretty far at length. Another thing we talked about Jack eichel, I don't know if you guys have seen what's going on in Buffalo, we went over it. It's been a mass. A complete mess. Is there a chance? The Bruins benefit from that mess? Bruins already took their star left-winger and Taylor Hall, took their starting goalie and Lita so Mark, could they take their franchise sentiment often discussed? Before we get into this episode though? One thing that is a very safe bet, it's an exciting time of year around the Sports World, the Red Sox are playing Patriots, training, camp this year. And soon the Brewers the Celtics will be back and even if you haven't made it back to Fenway, just yet, you can still be in on the action at BetOnline, no matter how the schedules change, or.

"Auto is ready to pay persson. And i first and the third is all. It's gonna cost me. I'd probably do that. Yeah yeah or even take it one step further. Go to six point two. And it's a first a second third. So yeah i. It's going to be more if it's going to happen at all and i i'll go on the record right now saying it's not going to happen but if it's going to happen at all that's where it's going to happen. It's going to happen in the middle range or the lower rage. The guys that you can get who people think are are only a two million dollar i will. We'll offer three and a half or four and sign him to that offer sheet and let's not forget You have no idea how many players are approached about an offer sheet. All we know is nobody signed one right like in a player an option. It's not okay. We're going to give this guy this money. You give us that. The player has to cite it. The blair say yep. I'm okay with that all here. That's the step that people may be. Forget about and are is a player really interested in doing that and going somewhere else right you. It's it's not just what we're willing to pay him. The player asked me willing to come right. Yeah and it's a. It's interesting that it was mark. Berge ivana did it. Two years ago. I started to wonder when i see. The logan may use election if mark berge van is kind of a just likes that that salmon mentality of swimming upstream where everybody else is turning left. He wants to turn right right he just. He was fearless in the offer. Sheet one at a time when almost nobody tries it and then he tries and does this and takes a big left. Turn on everybody with the logan. May you drafting I wonder if there's a little party his personality in his makeup that he likes the attention. That goes with these unpopular picks. Yeah and if he really wants to go back to the same well he can. Because carolina's got Andrea stretch niqab sitting there as an rfa's only twenty one years old. Maybe that's a guy. Yeah and i think. I mentioned it back in the springtime. You know. there's an opportunity if we're if we are talking about brady. Chuck is a possibility. This a chance to undo that number three overall selection keep the number three overall selection and godkin yemi and maybe get the guy. You should have gotten all along and brady chuck by way of an offer sheet but Eight now we've probably invested too much breath on this. It's probably not going to happen. But again i'm not. I'm not going to dismiss it in its entirety. Jackal is going to be traded almost certainly as the buffalo sabres burn this thing to the ground and I mean i don't know exactly where he's going. I don't know exactly what he's worth. What are you give up for. A guy like jack eichel. Because he's got that next thing. I wonder if it's legit or not you know i am necks and backs. They're always hard. If you get a real good handle on medically speaking seems to me. The more they talk about keeping jack eichel around in buffalo. The more sore that neck gets and the more discussion there is about a trade the better. he's feeling i'm kidding but It seems like That would be a difficult one to know what to give up in terms of acquiring. Jack what do you think. yeah no. you're absolutely right. It's it's very it's scary..

"About Sam Ryan hurt. I have not heard a word about Rasmus risk line. And we had you know, Two weeks ago, we had the New Jersey Devils were showing interest in restaurant harassment, Crystalline and we were thinking ourselves. Okay, that might be. Yeah. Uh, you know, a trade partner, and now it's We haven't heard anything. There has been nothing on and there's so much on the docket that needs to be addressed. And, um, you know, obviously, the Sabres are doing a fantastic job of keeping this internal and very quiet and doing their business behind closed doors. Um, but I was just surprised, you know, being off a four week You know, trying to look into reading articles and seeing what's happening out there. There's there's It's extremely quiet, and there's a lot that's going has to come up in the next few weeks. So first, after all, I think there's been some noise and the Jack Eichel site, But it's not the noise that you guys are looking for. When Kevin Adams Spoke and said, And that was his quote. It's in the hands of the doctors now basically is telling you that it's in the hands of the doctors. It's not about trading Jack and we're not talking to other teams. Or maybe there's conversation. But right now it's in the hands of the doctors. And then the next day or that day later that day, Jack Eichel's agent came out and said, We're working towards a resolution. So put the two of them together. It's in the hands of the doctor and we're working towards a resolution. They're actually working, in my opinion on finding a medical solution to Jack Eichel's problem. And then Elliott Friedman came out with his 33 thoughts last time because he added a couple extra, But he basically said that it seems as though Jack Is coming office disc replacement stand and maybe looking in the fusion. If that is the route they're going, so there is some noise there with Jack Eichel. But it's not the noise that everybody wants to listen and wants to hear or wants to pay attention to, because it doesn't It's not in the we have a trade or prospects of draft picks or whatnot. It's medical. Uh, conversation that's going on. In my opinion that is making does it worry you? And so my next thought is when you know I've talked to PD, you know, and we get on the phone and we're like, you know, man, is it? It's really quiet out there on all of these situations. And then my, then my mind starts going. Why is it so quiet? Is the value of Jack Eichel right now is the value of Jack Eichel, um low because the situation that he's in No, Jack, I goes to value is still high. But there's two things between what somebody is willing to offer you and his value as value will always stay the same as value is Jack. I call top player in the National Hockey League, You know, as values up, But what is everybody wanting to give you to get Jack? I called that I think is low right now, But there's a few reasons for that buyout periods is opening up. Protection list is coming up. Expansion draft is coming up. NHL draft is coming up in my opinion, even a Sam Ryan art arrest The Lion and Trade Jack Aiko trade. May not happen until August. If it happens, Can I ask you guys something? I don't know if my question has an answer, Not I'm asking. You feel free to answer it or not, but it comes based off, uh, number 10 here in Elliot's 31 thoughts. There were rumors, Jack. I go back away from the disc replacement surgery. We've talked about this lots of times about the disc replacement surgery and would consider a fusion instead. But several sources refuted that not true. There was a time I thought a trade might happen sooner rather than later. But after the expansion draft looks more likely who's in there? My guess is Anaheim, Calgary, Minnesota in Vegas with Boston, the Rangers and possibly Los Angeles on the periphery. So My question is this Jack did an interview the other day. I don't know how recently this is, but he did it way up. And nor is it North Chelmsford and, uh Ah. Basically, you know, I mean, you know a lot of quotes. Take him that where people um People said. You know, they're saying, like, you know, Jack basically should be pretty cool to play for his hometown Bruins at some point, whether it's now or later on in his career. Is the player making it more difficult on the team. I'm not. I'm just wondering. There's a lot of information out there. There's a lot of conversation the postseason press conference an interview in his hometown like Like is the conversations about the neck and all this stuff and information. Getting out about disc replacement and herniated disc like is that is that Maybe. I guess. Was without trying to be clever, free during the process of hindering the process, like understanding how unhappy this player understanding how how much pushback he's giving on injury and things like that and doing interviews. We I guess he doesn't do interviews, and now he's doing an interview in Boston. Is it shark in the waters? Is it were bleeding. Because we have a disgruntled captain who's basically speaking and, you know, has a disconnect between the team and you have the sharks right now that that are tasting the blood in the water, and they're circling and they're waiting to, uh, the C You know what? What, exactly? It's going to cost for Jack Eichel. Can you get Jack Eichel for Less than market value. Like I'm starting to wonder if jacket Jack's thinking right now is Jack thinking If I don't get moved by the start of the season, I'm going to have my surgery at the start of the season. And then just sit out the whole year. Until he's healthy to come back for the deadline or whenever the next year he's traded. I mean, is that part of because that's concerning to me. I've been thinking about that was There's another.

"He ends up in ST Louis. Everything ST George Bitty kid comes in at the right time. You know, you got some younger defense minister ready to take a step at the different players and they're gonna come from all different areas, and I think that's the that's the significant challenge. So whether you do it now. It's not going to change what ultimately you're going to have to achieve to me. Can you do it now with this group? And do you have the opportunity to do it? What are those opportunities? But if you make the decision that you're going to transition out of that group, it's not going to change in three years time you're gonna have to find the same ability to sink it all up. That voice is Craig Button TSN analyst Yes and scout former general manager in the National Hockey League. Kind enough to join us here on the instigators so well with saying all that And I agree with everything you're saying it's it's very hard to come to grips with the fact that you could be looking at a team trading a player of Jack Eichel's caliber. You have the top 75 prospect list to specify these air players that have been drafted, but not yet in the NHL. Seven of them of the L. A Kings prospects are on that list. That's a team that has been rumored or speculated, could make a move for Jack. If you saw a deal The sabers making a deal that involved Jack Eichel. What kind of return Would you as the general manager for the sabers want And what kind of return? Would you of a very willing trade partner. Be willing to give up to the sabers in order to get Jack Eichel? What kind of a deal are we looking at here? So so you're looking at it? You're looking at a at a at a unique player. Jack Eichel work, Thies players number one don't exist. So I'm gonna go back to my own experience. You know, we were in Dallas. We had Madonna way had Jamie Langenbrunner Gary letting it and Hatcher and after that we had a really good group of young players. And we were building and Joe knew and I became available. He didn't want to be in Congress anymore. And we were looking at Colorado Bud Sack trick him. Forsberg and Detroit advertisement of Federal Office. Oh, yeah, we got MacDonald. How are we gonna be good if we don't find another sentiment? And so Joe became available and our coats the general manager with the Calgary Flames at the time, really clearly established it was gonna be qualities and he made hay made us Really step back when he said, If you wanna talk about new nights it's gonna take again. What did we know Jerome again? I was going to score such under goals and be a super snow, But we think it was gonna be a really good player. Yes. So that made us a little bit nervous, a little bit uncomfortable, but as we went through it, and we said Where we ever gonna get a guy like Joe knew. And I said we had to be open minded about, you know, Okay. It's gonna take quality. Al was clear that it was gonna be calling. I'm not big on pieces. If you want pieces, throw in the 500 piece puzzle too, Because if you get lots of pieces, you know why? I don't want to hear about pieces. I want to hear about quality. I'm a big quality guy. So if you're the L, a kings and you want Jack Eichel, I'm just picking the l. A Kings Ready team. You better start talking about quality. Don't tell me about I'll give you this prospect in this prospect that this pic and everything I want quality. So where do we go? Well, I think you start right with quality. You don't have to look very far to say, Well, it's got to include a quick by field. It's gotto include, Uh, analysis. Turcotte. In my view, you know those air quality players. You hang up the phone If they're not options Absolutely. You do. Absolutely you do you don't you don't settle. If you're Kevin Adams, you established what? It's going to take the same Go for Laughren Year with New York. I mean, that's got to be the guy that the first name that comes into mind if if we're talking Jack Eichel, But people think we're not friend here and Fox. Like, Hey, listen when, when outside, drove My Gillen we want who way were is like we saw a whole bunch of rattle snakes in the grass. That's how that's how we became. What? We heard that name. Now you start to consider Get back to team building, Doctor. What does it mean? So what does it mean for their late cakes? Well, it means significant. Our coats understood what it meant for the dollar stars to get Joe No. One night. And so to me. Yeah. You hang up the phone. You establish what you're gonna do and the part of establishing it, too, And I'm not. I'm not a person that says that you draw a hard line in the sand. You always have to understand what you what you want to do is a team. You have to have those relationships with the players. It's not just like shut up and play. I don't believe in that. Part of you know of Jack Eichel. Or any player says they want out or anything. You're dealing with a different scenario. But like Joe Sakic did with Matthew Shane, he said, Okay. I'll trade you, but I'm trading on my terms. Not on yours. So he went to Matt that he told you better play. And if you want to leave here, you're going to play because I'm not just trade you on on cents on the dollar. 50 cents on the dollar. I got e. I understand why you're right. I'll accommodate you because it's not healthy for us. So you on our terms. So you do your part and I'll do my part. So it doesn't you don't have to just trade Jack Eichel. You go to him and say OK, I get where you're at. You better play here because I'm trade you for value and quality. At what point in time D do you say to a player like Jack Eichel? We're not trading you..

New Insights on the Bruins' Disappointing Week
"A great way for Bruins not a great week. I know they ended it on our early started next week Sunday. They started to walk on a good note, but not ending particularly. Well, there are a lot of problems. What was the biggest to you? Well, I mean, obviously the the one where you look at just the Optics of it right is the defense, right? I mean you give up 13 goals in two games. I think everyone get concerned about that and I think that's wrong. You see the right flag is you know, you're seeing way too many transition goals created chances in front of Rask and a lot, but the thing is is that that's always a concern. Oh shit. Like when you go that many goals. I'm sure not to spend learning but also, I mean I look at it right where I think we all are in agreement of the rooms and needs more depth on the blue. Looks like we've talked about at home last week. Like that's a guy they need right? So this isn't any surprise and when you missing three starters on your blue line, you know, including two guys in lausanne and Thursdays are good at kind of showing up that net front and girls like ew, you know as much as I think people are now the critics been hurt. I feel like there's like the The Narrative of like, oh they can they they can do well without them, you know, he's an injury-prone. Even though it's really only been kind of this year. We're didn't really really bad. But you know you miss Chris leak in his ability to get the puck out and you know, get the brake outgoing and hit those first passes cuz off these games have been stuck in their own Zone with for checking issues. So but you look at that defense, right you miss those three guys, you have back and iron in a top pairing roll and you know, yes potential. I mean we've seen multiple times we're out of something. He's big enough yet to handle some of these guys and he's been just kind of Knocked around by Chris Kreider which led to a goal. He got knocked around by Andrews Lee and pushed around which led to Chicago gets the island is so I mean you go to depleted decor and you know, you got drawn more playing like the minutes and he did not look very good. The last two games so wage. Obviously, you're shorthanded you hopefully you hope that a shorthand unit doesn't give up 13 goals, but still it's not expected. But you had to know that there was going to be some issues with your going to be giving birth. One more chance has given how the state of your Decor is. Now.

Eichel is sick of Buffalo story, but probably won't actually get traded. Maybe this is finally the years but Buffalo continues to lose which I don't know why this is a surprise to him at least like just cuz my God what Taylor home exactly like to be I don't know maybe I guess when you're in that moment, you know when you're on that team you think wow, we just got so much better. But in reality you just got a better scoring Winger on one line. Like it's this isn't the NBA where like you acquire a player of Taylor Hall is Cal log.
