"Part of the reason has to do with what occurred on generally six at the Capitol as Congress was in session for the purpose of certifying the electors. We've all heard about the Maga rioters that lay siege on the Capitol and where two people directly died. An unarmed woman named Ashley Babbitt, 35 year old. Was a 14 year Air Force veteran. She was shot by a Capitol police officer. She was unarmed and not a threat. The police officer, by the way, who shot her is now on leave pending further investigation. Another fatality was a police officer Brian Sick, Nick, who is 42 years old. And had been with the force since 2008 and he died due to injuries caused by rioters. Now. It was reported that five people died altogether, However, for the 3rd and 4th victims, both males. It was reported that one of them died of a stroke before or while looking for a parking space. At the Trump rally. The other male who died had a heart attack and according to statements released by family members of that heart attack victim that causes were underlying health conditions. It appears that these two fatalities were not connected to the writing events that occurred on generates sixth. The fifth fatality is Roseanne boil, and she was 34 years old. She died apparently of a medical emergency, but it's not clear what happened to her. Police spokesman stated that she was potentially crushed to death during the capital riots. Now our thoughts go out to their families and to anyone who was hurt during the right at the Capitol. It's clear that it was completely uncalled for. And as with every act of unwarranted violence, we should condemn it. And we should be condemning it as loudly as everyone should be condemning what antifa and be Ellen did last summer with unending violence and numerous deaths that occurred in multiple cities across the country over a period of months. Now in regard to the right at the Capitol. It was stated by the FBI last week that there was no warning beforehand about the threat to the capital. But the Western Journal on generate 13 That was last Wednesday in an article written by Jack Davis reported. The FBI lied and knew that there was a threat. There was an internal memo that was disseminated throughout the FBI that stated that there was information provided on generally fifth that there was going to be some level of threat to the capital. On the sixth of January. And this threat wasn't because of Trump supporters. Yes, there were some trump supporters caught up in the right, No doubt, but the core of the right. The powers that fueled the right We're not Trump supporters. They were unrelated. Was also reported from other sources that information was given to unidentified persons about the floor plans of the capital. It was also observed that certain congressional persons were providing tours two unidentified persons days before the riots. Now that may sound strange, But as I've been told the Capitol building Is a building of mazes. You just don't go into the building and nowhere to go. I've been told that the House chamber is not easy to find. And when you watch the video of the writers, they knew exactly where to go. During the debates on the resolution to impeach trumpet was brought up by Republican congressman that it was discovered that pipe bombs were planted a day or earlier near or around the Capitol building. This all happening long before Trump supporters were anywhere near the capital, and then we have the fall out immediately after the rights. There was the call to impeach the president immediately. I listened and Red President Trump's speech. There's something in it that called for an attack against the capital. He clearly articulated the need to make our voices heard peacefully. Here's a snippet a segment to what he said in regard to the capital on generous six during his speech quote. Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. Now, in that statement, he's referring to the election. I'll continue quote. And after this, we're going to walk down and I'll be there with you. We're going to walk down to the Capitol and we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them. Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing. And on Lee County electors who have been lawfully slated, I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotic Lee. Make your voices heard. That was the quote that the media used as the calling card for storming the Capitol building. We contextualized for the purpose of reinterpretation and no objective person who listened or read the transcript could have come to the conclusion that Trump was inciting violence against the Capitol building. What did Trump say? Peacefully and patriotic Lee make your voices heard. That's what he said period. Nothing in this quote suggests anything anything close to what he has been blamed for inciting Now, when we get back from the break, we'll be talking more about the subject. But there is a bigger picture that needs to be dealt with. And it concerns all of us in regard to what I've been talking about. You're not gonna wanna miss it. It's gonna be seatbelt mandatory. "I have to assume that that they I commissioned like Jack Davis to do a poster all the characters you're chasing somebody and he just threw in and whoever he wanted and they were like shit. There's an alien. There's like a kid in a wheelchair running plus. I guess the movie now money to Cut Jeff Davis go back and make changes breath. I felt like they made the movie and then they saw e and they were like we gotta make any team any like had to put like an they like through romance. Last night was only like a trim twenty four minutes throw. It was a pilot for the meatball series yeah well. We gotTA expand it for the European theatrical briefly introduce the next morning we were briefly introduced to the French cook up the camp in order to drink drinker. He's they don't quite understand the the Giddy is like no fancy foods. I want meatloaf. I want burgers. The the rest of the movie is Rene Looking at every horse and just try and try to make it tend to Steal Cook Mary. It's it's like what's the gangs. A fancy French took that he's a he's not make sense gags like again there. There are a few gags movie that work for me and one of them is mainly trying to carry half full dead Horse Rigor mortis dropping this right Gurney uh-huh so now the kids from flashes bunk get into a little scuffle outside of the the the bathroom without house because it's somebody's been in there too long. They need to go to the bathroom so our friend in the wheelchair hooks up a grappling hook or graph null to the door and he's like I'll pull pull the door open. They'd pull it open of course hiding inside is the kid who can phase through walls. That's right meet had our alien friend. They they meet with them. They talk to them. They seem kind of into it like they're pretty alien but they're they're accepting of him. They get his name so one of the characters actress named Ted. I think yeah me Ted and me Ted and they're like his name. I guess meathead and the funny thing is that like he's he's pretty adept at all other aspects of English language speaks English wonder like you want to go do this and he's like I'd rather eat a big Mac and then of course at that point. I'm sure McDonald's paid for that because like that's huge product placement. That's a friend of mine. Kevin Maher has a theory see that Mac and that means that it was that Mac and me I think it was a rip off of meatballs two because meals to introduce the alien eating hamper. Ah It's weird that and his father says like oh I gave you those English lessons for that. You have a reason to use them so like why they have this like I don't understand. It doesn't make sense I won't I don't know why they're making all this effort to explain why he knows. English doesn't matter he's a fucking land of the apes. The Snow English and Charlton Heston never put fuck in two and two together. They are unearthed statuary from the realize oh you mean English didn't arise naturally on this planet did he is a huge dome ass alien. I mean he's an astronaut astronauts. He can't be that dumb but on the other hand is an astronaut who doesn't seem to know like how to wear clothes Fort Wayne Indiana according to the movie so that kind they also this alien is is attending the summer camp because his parents want him to go to summer camp on earth but they're like things just like drove like they didn't. I mean they're just like basically being like it'd be like if you Elliott like as your Santa got older just like pushed rushed him out like MIRA summer camp. Hey sink or swim and sure there's a dark horse comic. Partially that's what happened to the Predator in the movie repressors what happened if a kid just showed up a camp I mean they'd probably call the parents or the police in some kind of ritual. I'll tell what happens when a kid disappears from camp they call your parents and they make you go home yeah..

"Transit system. And then we would make copies of it. And then we could get into the door as opposed to like have an hop the turnstile because that would draw attention to you. And then they'd scream your name on the loudspeaker. And you know, whatever was on duty. You're already got a problem before you're you know, evening even starts. So there was all these things, and these all things that other people sort of thought of so when you are just starting out in graffiti, this already a blueprint to follow in terms of how you do all these things and everybody would share this information. So it was sort of common knowledge how you did things. Like, you know, you would apprentice under somebody a little bit more skillful until you learned, and it's just the way it was was it fun. Sure. But for me, it was always about a means. To an end. It was always. Okay. This is what I have to do in order to get this work up on the train. And all that other stuff was sort of a byproduct of what you had to do. And so it wasn't like I got a rush at of stealing pain. It was more. Like, this is what I need. And if I got to go through this the same way, I have to figure out how gonna will myself to be, you know, hundred feet in the air just do it. And it's really kind of crazy when you think back to all of the nutty stuff that we did as kids just in the name of painting a name on the side of a train to make your Mark. But no that was what we had to do in order to let people know that we are hearing exist in nineteen seventy eight you realize your artistic potential when you were doing a painting based on sheiks album risque in in what way you're looking with big eyebrows. So now, I'm wondering if I have my research. Wrong. I know you you have a right. But you know, I like, you know, I I don't even remember ever talking about this like up near lake. Stunned that you Doug that deep. Hit a nerve with that. Okay. It's really fascinating. Because everything that's happening in my life. Now is so amazing to me when I think about being that little kid like just recently. I did a whole installation that the new Levi's flagship store in Times Square and now Rodgers and chic were, you know, one of the performing bands and idea that they wanted all of these New York icons and myself being one of them. And when I think back that far too that I record, and that was really one of the things that inspired me, and that was in my bedroom. And I can remember doing that painting, and it said risque, and it was an all these beautiful colors and all the characters were Jack Davis characters that I pulled from magazines, and my there's a photograph of my little brother holding the painting, and I'm taking the picture. And. I've done a lot of amazing work in my lifetime. But that worked still rivals anything. I've done present day. It was really good even back then. So what gave you the sense at that point that you wanted to consider transitioning into a fine artist? Being graffiti are sort of ran its course. And it was always about getting to another place. It wasn't like I was interested in being the king of a line or bombing more trains than anybody else. It was always like this is a vehicle to take me someplace else. And because I was always afraid of what I was doing if you willing. You know, there was also confrontation with other writers like you go into a tunnel. And you'd have to make sure that you don't get jumped by rival graffiti gang. You gotta make sure that you don't get chased by dogs. You gotta make sure that you don't get electrocuted. All of these things. Like did. I wanted nothing to do with all I wanted was the painting.

"All right. We are back in which the long goodbye. I wanted to touch real briefly on the interesting story of this movie when it was released it was only released in a few markets, including Detroit I found out while I was doing my research. It was released in a few cities in March of nineteen Seventy-three, and it bombed it really was not very well liked. And I think all the reasons why we talked about before as far as it's a little too. You can't necessarily follow it that. Well, Elliott Gould mumbles through this this guy Yogi drops, the the M F these kind of things, and then that that key that cooped across which is what you talked about Eric that he shoots his best friend and people really changed under that they did not think that this was Philip Marlowe whatsoever. They had much Slim, sleep. best mending bug gotten pal and possibly even gems. And so when mullet did something I didn't think it was Molly if social media that'd been around, then it would have gone crazy. But it's doing crazy. Anyway, it's funny how you know these films that we talk about that we consider to be great movies weren't that well received when they were first released right makes me wonder. Well, we like look back at something. Like, you know, Armageddon and say, oh, you know, what's I was wrong about that that film is brilliant. But no terms a long if I could see why people had a problem with it. If I recall, I wasn't around when when when longer by came out, but I mean, I remember seeing archive marketing materials try to play it up like a comedy where it was where the posters, look, like a mad magazine cover or something like that. Do you know if the marketing harm the film at all Mike or because I I could see why. People had issues with the idea of taking I Kana character and just basically seemingly hissing on it. Well, that was the thing was when it was first released it was released with the poster Mitch that strangely enough is on the Keno, and the arrow discs, which is the wine of him. What the gun, and it's kind of blue. And it's like nothing says goodbye like a bullet. And there are some versions have that with a cat on his shoulder, these kind of things, and so that was the original advertising campaign, and they ended up when they pulled the movie they pulled that campaign and the mad magazine Jack Davis stuff was actually the second version of it. So when they re released it inactive Hct of nineteen Seventy-three. That's when they had the mad magazine thing, I think the pendulum swung a little too far. Personally. The mad magazine version is the one I was familiar with from like the VHS cover those kind of things and I find. Interesting that it's not the one that's on the DVD's or the blue race that are released now. But yeah, they went the other way and tried to play up them more comic elements of it, which I don't think it's necessarily that. I think it fits more with that first poster image, but they had to do something to say as they would say in today's parlance, this isn't your desk. Philip Marlowe the movie morals are in James garner. There's some goofy moments that the death of Bruce Lee, Bruce, Lee and stuff like that is it's like it's tongue in cheek you know, that kind of thing and you've had I would say the earliest attent. That's our Neal new are might have been a Harper the film, starring Paul Newman thought, I the only that can think of that might have like I could see where like like fans I've been jarred by their represented by the representation of of their favorite character might been like kiss me deadly or. They take the Mike hammer character they make him an utter asshole. No apologies..

"Top is defending earth from aliens that they're microbes not space invaders is it conceivable that if we bring rac's back from mars that some kind of evil microbe good destroyed life on earth preventing that is the whole point of this job because we don't know but after eleven years on the job has decided to move on and when nasa boasted the job opening the internet went well viral calmly spends a lot of her time focused on mars is their life on mars there absolutely is life on mars because there's life on the spacecraft that was sent to mark that's right countless tiny micro roads from earth or now hitching a ride on rovers cruising around the red planet conley steers them away from areas where native marcin life might exist to avoid the possibility of interplanetary war on a microscopic level to do the job you usually have to have a phd and abroad scientific micro however one nine year old wrote nasa that he's fit for the job because my sister says i am an alien and i am young so i can learn to think like an alien he signed it jack davis guardian of the galaxy nasa urged him to study hard and do well in school after he gets his phd hopefully he'll apply again because after all says chip reid will always need someone to protect us from whatever is out there the osgood foil this is charles osgood on the cbs radio network here's today's weather forecast on news radio kkob cool and chris this morning with out.
