"I don't know the rules but I've seen it done before and in this really doesn't change the aspect of property. And and if if Jack Becker is still property he is but I think that's associated terms on more on the player and not on the owner of the team who selected him and so on so I think it's it's it's really going to be up to him and gave me is up to him. No matter what still there's that that property kind of thing that goes on I still need to figure out I'm constantly learning about the game of hockey. So yeah, like in Canada. C n c double a hockey as much right, but now that it's becoming more and more popular. I've definitely been doing a lot more research on on it just because the Bruins do select a lot NC double A guys and wage like like you see you see people coming from the I saw that the bchl and Canada they want to get they want to be their own League. Like they don't want to be an earlier when that you know, it's pretty crazy that they are like dead. I actually asked the league or or the podcast or one of the article writers. Is that going to disrupt any of the NCAA movement out of that lead because the bchl is a huge feeder league for the NCAA. So I guess if you want to go there you get scouted by NCAA. That's a great spot, but it's also a place that you can go continue to develop and like if you're not going to get into the NCAA, you can also go into like the dub deal and the Q. So who knows it's going to be very interesting. Yeah. Absolutely. All right, speaking of very interesting we're wrapping in this thing up. Let's talk about the upcoming games on the schedule as we finish this episode 223 and thank you so much again Brett for joining me a truly. Appreciate it. Yeah. Yeah. I find the last today. That's awesome. Love having two people on the upcoming weeks. Boston Bruins schedule is tonight against the Washington wage. Buttles Danville. Getting the start as we did mention a very sketchy line up, especially on the back end the full Woods not changing wage, but the defensive Corps like we said previously is a little lausanne and Sean on the top pairing as moral kampfer in the second parent to North Clifton on the third pairing and obviously if a. Is in net today, so good luck to those guys. I really hope so obviously I'm rooting for Jack a Sean because he's he's a really fast young fool with that's that's awful continue to learn and do he's got to do but you got to be prepared because Washington is a heavy team it's a very heavy team there going to come out you in layers and I'm going to be fast so hopefully these guys will already but also you have like a nice breather, but hopefully it's a game on Tuesday against the Buffalo Sabres. That's not going to be played down to your opponent weenie dog..

"To Elite projects.com and they had him as a thirty-six-year-old and so on so I didn't really trust that. I might have been spelling the name wrong and so on but whatever he was in as a backup, but it was just a tough game is Bruins give up three power-play goals on this night. And and like Anthony Greco was just running around just causing Havoc Ty ronning. He scored his seventh and eighth and Tommy cross was the only Providence Brewing to get on the board. He got his third at the 10:40 Mark of the third. Assisted by yaakov. Lalko and Cooper's XO tough one the next the next games. Well, actually I shouldn't talk about the next games cuz I don't have the schedule a lot. But right now after 18 games played the Providence Bruins wage. Comfortably in the in the Atlantic division with a 13-4 and one and O record with 27 points. They unfortunately broke a two-game winning streak and Thursday 7 to 1 one in the last ten. They are ten points ahead of heart for who's in second place with 17 points and Bridgeport is just they got three win a seven point. So there's a 20-point gap right there. So we still don't know what's going to happen with the Calder Cup playoffs. I've been listening to around the a podcast with David foot and Patrick Williams very closely to get their inside stuff about if the League's going to entertain playoffs from here and it's not going to happen because they can't get fans in the stands. And if you can't do it now nobody's making money nowhere. So why have it so long? It's it's a bit unfortunate on that. And yeah, no, it's it's sucks to these kids right now man. Like I really feel for them. Like you hear some of the stories about how long These teams that even NHL prospects didn't play for almost over a year. Like it's that's crazy to think for like they were talking about Rasmus dahlin and his home like how he didn't he didn't end up playing for like a year and how much that hurt him at the beginning of the season and it really heard the whole Buffalo line up on a whole cuz he was supposed to be there guy, right? Yeah. Yeah absolutely dead. So I don't have the schedule up but that is my mind. Oh, no, I do have something else one more thing Mark divver tweeted out the other day that 2015. 7th round draft pick Jack Becker. It sucks that he had to leave school. Yeah, I got a ice pack had to leave school because of the University of Michigan Wolverines. They withdrew from the National Tournament. So that was his senior year and ultimately aimed his his his NCAA career, which I thought I wrote an article about it and the potential of him signing a pro contract 1 year entry level deal with the Boston Bruins much like Whitney Wolfe did coming out of the University of minnesota-duluth. So but differ come over the other the other day and tweeted out that Becker has decided to stay in school, but not with Michigan he is going to the State of Arizona Sun Devils to play extra year a fifth year of college hockey and I and I know you can do the job..

"Team that J leads us trading a well defensive team that supports their their crease guys. So good on the upcoming week for the Providence Bruins Wednesday, March 31st. Providence is a long road in Bridgeport Connecticut to play the third-place sound tigers at 1 p.m. Saturday April 3rd, the Bruins play a rare Auto Division game as they travel to Utica wage. New York to play the host Utica comets the top minor Pro affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. So that's it for that for the Providence Bruins. I do want to add a little bit into the into the prospect down in the system segment here. I want to mention Jack Becker and John Beach are both at Minnesota Wolverines NCAA. They had to the Wolverines had to withdraw from the NCAA tournament because of covid-19 and that ended the air for Providence. Sorry. Boston Bruins Prospect. Jack Becker was the captain of the Wolverines team this past season. So his collegiate career is officially over due to Colvin. I feel so bad for this kid John did she on the other hand? He had shoulder surgery who which was reported by Dom Tiano on Twitter back on February 28th. So he's got season-ending surgery wage. Didn't matter about him, but he's probably going to be most likely going back to Michigan next season or could turn pro. Who knows about that that's seems to be somewhere around there. But back on Jack Becker with his commitment over at at Michigan. There's a good possibility that this 2015 seventh-round draft pick might sign an entry-level deal with the Boston Bruins and possibly a show me deal. Show me stay down in Providence to see if he's a fit at all, Jack's a big Center. He's six threes. I think he's like right around 206-190-5206 area rug he can play the play the the body really well, but he gets off the area is pretty good to his offensive numbers in the NCAA weren't exactly, you know, mind-blowing or anything like that, but he's just some he's just one of those centers that can be depended on and I think jail each month. Right Midfield would do really good with them if he was to sign and now with his age and and the way he went through all four years of college. I think the the entry-level would only be one year much like what Nick Woolf got out of minnesota-duluth when you signed a one-year entry level deal. So, you know, who knows but that tends to happen. Once the commitment is off with this particular School free agents..

"Poignant for we're dealing with now with this. Current pandemic is that more and more companies that have been talking to virtually consulting with the coaching are doing a lot of their telecommuting. They're doing weekly calls on zoom. Or what have you so what we do. Is the final set. If this debriefing perfect as of this process is where we own to a degree to say how do we do during this eight hour shift or five day. Workweek or whatever. This project was in in the we. Sit down and as everyone to share. Give me one thing that you did well this week. Sheriff one big success that you hadn't talked me through and that we robert of you share with me something that you did that. You may think might have been obvious to everyone. Wasn't that obvious to me. And you just raised my level form. If i'm ever faced with that same situation again. My skill set just got that much better after going around the room and everybody shares success that they've had in it's kind of nice to pat yourself on the back and say look great. Iams was an awesome win. I helped the team. Then we go around the room again and little more uncomfortable. We say sheriff me something that you missed up this week. Cheers me mistake. You made yourself that you worked up and this very powerful coming from a group of fighter pilots. I believe people think we have the biggest egos in the world during the debrief as we really sit. Those egos aside to really scrutinize ourselves. And how we can perform better tomorrow so we go around the room and asked. What did you mess up. And it's my opportunity to say. Even if i knew nobody on the team new. I made this mistake. And i don't want to share this with anybody. If swept under the rug nobody would know. And i wouldn't look at those little simple and repeatable mistakes that are cancerous within an organization. And if you're ever faced with that situation again you might repeat the same state that i made today but if i bring it up and share with you the mistake i made what i should have done. Then we can talk through the brief execute debriefing. The seven critical skills of crew resource management. Everybody sees that. I'm sharing with the team. How we can get better and nobody on. The team has ever going to repeat that mistake again. Because they know what we're supposed to do and i just elevated the team performance and that level of openness and honesty really helps build trust and confidence in the whole team from the ceo. Down to the newest person saying wow we know. We're all going to make mistakes. Let's own up to him. Not hide it because it makes the team better if we do it and it really grows the trust and confidence in it truly makes everybody. Who's involved this whole process. Fueled they have a much bigger ownership stake in what's going on. Every time they show up to work nine of calling interesting question around that. So i have alan mulally. Uber's the incoming. Cu to four back in the day not think he was brought chan and quickly realize that they are literally weeks away from bankruptcy about unheeded have their management team. And you never david. Step up face other debriefing by just more reporting on how well our divisions were doing and everybody was all everything's good. Everything's always quickly realized big disconnect because here's a company bankruptcy nearly senior executives Everything's good so officer. That trust had been routed time so he changed that environment. Allied people to build up a trusted. We're going to be chastised types of stepping up and being vulnerable so my question is than when you've got no many companies do that debriefing Become vulnerable actually stack up and see. I screwed up here. How do you do you make that transition. Had he started who cruise. Shiva's gonna approve time so we're going to happen overnight. It certainly does not happen overnight. You're right in this skill set. The whole process is kind of an art form. And it's taught midler in the tone has to be set from the ceo on down and he here she has to be the first one to stand up at the first time that we try and conduct debris fight deaths and say first of all. Here's the mistakes i made this week. And it's no harm. No foul and i've worked with fortune. Five hundred companies that have inste- instituted this debrief thing. That major manufacturing firms are down to small law firm in everybody's kind of amazed with the trust and confidence that grows after seeing senior people these guys and gals opened up about what their shortcomings were. In the first time you see your boss to it you say wow. They're really honest about that. And then people keep doing deeper and deeper dives into their mistakes and it really helps the team elevate their performance but the tone is really set with the leadership certainly could have frequently to see moves. Missing shoots occurred what i see the most successful application for all the corporate and Certainly the international workplace that i've done with hundreds of companies is kind of a monday morning brief at a friday afternoon debrief and it can be done in person or zoo calls but it kind of gives everybody an opportunity to go through the execution phase of see what their successes and failures were during the week and then wrap it up and then friday we roll. Those lessons learned straight into our brief on mondays. We can keep growing recommendation. So i need to. I should this you to talk to me about Think back without giving many military secrets but any anything that would be a good story to share on something that you know. You did everything The initial brief did the execution debrief an ec- think backing violent. Really pop class. I think one of my favorite stories for the success of this entire process that just shared with you is a time that i was flying on a training mission with my women and we're going down to a bombing range in north carolina perfect weather day. Everything's gorgeous and everything went is planned until my jet had a pretty major malfunctions the whole process. I'll share with you. The story Enough time so we're flying at fourteen thousand five hundred feet in route to north carolina from virginia. And we're flying. At mach point nine seven or just under the speed of sound. And just before i call for next maneuver. I stated my whitman. Who's tucked in just thirty six inches away from me. We're in a tight formation to f. Eighteen hornet fighter. Jets before i call for next maneuver start seeing stars much like a bugs bunny cartoon i said to my wingman do by the way is the best wing man in the navy at the time. Unbelievable supporting cast that. I had with me on this flight this day. I said morteau. I think pox. I didn't know it yet. But my onboard generating system had failed. My brain was suffering from lack of oxygen to the brain is more. I think i'm hypotheses. And he said pull the green ring. That's a very simple procedures that we have for hypoxia. And it's a little green handle outboard of my left thigh. The ejection seat that activates. Our emergency oxygen rate is he said that my symptoms got worse. I lost all my peripheral vision. We call it tunnel vision. You can only see directly what you're staring at because we start to suffer from a simple hypoxia. One of the most sensitive things that we have is the blood in our Is so is. that's all leaving me. I can see. Only what i'm staring at and then in about one more breath later i lose my vision entirely. We call it great. I'm one hundred percent conscious with all my motor skills. I simply can't see. And as i started to think about what mortar yelled to me about. Pull the green ring. Total euphoria came over my body. It's essentially like your stone. And i remember marveling at the brilliance of bortles idea. Say that's a great idea. That's what you wanted. All the while symptoms are getting worse as my brain is starving of oxygen. Then again in the back of my mind. I hear more screaming. Bowling green rain pulling green rig. Somehow my left index finger activated emerged action system with a few deep breaths a couple of seconds later. I'm totally back to normal. Good to go so we obviously returned to base and have an uneventful land of the procedural. Excellence that morteau had to follow guiding me through is so important because militarily outrank. When we're on the ground my position the navy's very senior to his in this flight. I am the flight leader senior to his position as what we call dash to or my wingman. Everything in our world says that i tell him what to do and not vice versa. But this process that. I shared view kind of gives everybody like i said the authority and responsibility. I give to him so he can tell me what to do. In order to keep me alive in order to keep our formation intact and to achieve that mission objective or the goal that we set for ourselves to that. So i love the fact that i told you earlier. Women regardless of experience level or gender or race orientation anything like that. All women are equal. I think that is success. That you base this whole process on that all women are equal and the successful outcome of our mission depends on how powerful are from story. Really appreciate you sharing. That could be totally a different scenario. Absolutely thank you for that. So we're just finishing up here. Couple lost things that if you have a parting message to for our listeners sner business owners. Already jake's who smart what would be the heart message for them. I think that the party message that i would have. Robert is Is simply to flatten the hierarchy. A little bit. If you wanna see huge gains in your organization or your teams human performance and reducing mistakes simply to flatten the hierarchy. By that i mean to make the ceo. Not as high above that newest employee. And you're not giving up any of your authority. What you doing is empowering employees to have a little more trusting confidence in the whole process. I said and show. Their vulnerability was sharing our mistakes and making it. I mean human beings make mistakes that what we that's what we do. Cicero said at two thousand years ago to is human need to share those with each other. So we're not repeating. That's what fighter pilots to be successful. And what business owners can do. "Here. So you're you said you're sitting in their hotel room in the middle of slewy. Pennsylvania that's correct yes I'm glad you could join us. Hopefully you won't forget by their by into he's had virginia beach. Yes that's cool. So tell me la- europe you've got colorful backgrounds very impressive background some a little bit but your your backgrounds. Yeah well thank you very much after spending a career as a fighter pilot in the us navy. I saw a need to apply. The lessons learned that i had that career as an instructor pilot and operational fighter pilot in the us navy and a lot of these skills learned were directly translatable the american workplace and i raise an eyebrow when i stayed things like that but twelve years ago i'd founded the company called flight level solutions and it was a keynote providing company and also with workshops and training sessions where we provide people insight into how my world is a fighter. Pilot is very dynamic fast paced and rapidly changing in the skills. I use a really apple to let entrepreneurs when they finally realized that their world is very similarly dynamic fast paced and rapidly changing so go into that a little bit for the. Because you know. I think our fast pace is totally different. You tear your F eighteen hornets super hornets. Your probably one of the most highly decorated funding signals sir. So as a seat really impressive here just to give up in context with just the normal leeman sure well so the skill set that i'm referring to is a process that aviators us its navy. Fighter pilots of nasa astronauts alike. It's a skill set code crew resource management. And it's a very simple process at pilots used to minimize or mitigate human error. Basically to make fewer mistakes. It has nothing to do the skills that has nothing to do with flying airplanes. Just how we as human beings can make fewer mistakes on the job. So i saw an opportunity to translate this skill set to people doing almost every career under the sun. Excuse me because everybody. I know could benefit by making mistakes on the job. So i took this process of career source management and very simple boils down to a four step process that we in that is simply brief debrief and then professor in the briefing phase. I've worked at a lot of companies that do a pretty good job of setting the tone for what they're gonna do whether it be an eight hour workday a week long five day workweek or six month project but they do a fairly good job of setting the tone beforehand but i give them a structured way to quickly and efficiently brief and then it's onto the execution face and that is where we use these skills of crew resource management and. They're very simply communication. Assertiveness leadership decision making task. Analysis adaptability flexibility. And then kinda the encompassing. Big one that situation awareness. So i teach how to use those skills during their workweek or were day on the job. Whatever it is they do after that comes the most crucial steps. And that's the debrief where we take super critical. Look at how we did. And this is the point that i stress to people were read the opportunity to repeat our successes and not repeat our failure. It's a very powerful thing coming from. Fighter pilots that we're so hypercritical of each other in the both good and bad as we scrutinize what we've done and that's really how we learned to make tomorrow's even better and more productive than today. After that debrief the final step is to perfect. And that's taking those invaluable lessons learned applying them to tomorrow's brief so that cycle keeps going we just keep raising the level of human performance day in and day out over and over again. Because i am especially interesting. You should up. Because i i definitely enjoy some of those bucs You know the navy seals of kamara or the s allow them. They talk about how they really keep going through. Especially the debrief hardware. They go through the examiner mission even if it went well but they just go through it. Step by step and just see Man and it's just something that really stuck with me I'm gonna go by consecration committing example the initial grief part. Because gonna love. The managers came to me You know the explained that the given instructions to some of their team members in it didn't buy gold. Wage should have done you know. I always challenge. Msn was the people executed the work or was it ashra instructions given to them. You feel as though you're clear nothing more than often. It was just pure ability to really explain. You know what the project was so to talk a little bit but that you're sure that's a great question In the brief are structured for that keeps things very quick vicious widows them too much time talking about what we're gonna do before we do it but that breaks down to a four step process. Mets very simply overview objectives tactics and review so the overviews. Pretty sopa sattori. What are we here to do today or this week. What are kind of our mission is That's the overview and then for the objective that's just the signing of goal or what we're setting out to do and that's very important rushed whether it's a training mission or combat we we always have an objective or mission goal and this will tell business owners that needs to be very measurable attainable by that. I mean a very simplistic explanation is we. Don't just wanna make as many widgets as we camp for that because it's not measurable at the end of the day. We don't know if we've achieved nelson used to be attainable and realistic goal. So by making our goal for today our objective measurable attainable can then look back in the debrief and see whether we achieved it. Why or why not if we did. Maybe up that also tomorrow if we didn't what were short shortcomings or pitfall so that objective resigned the goal and then i talk really quickly about tactics and that's very simply where we assigned individual roles expectations and accountability. This makes clear to everybody. What's expected that. What is their role expectations and accountabilities. That's the tactic portion and then a quick review and that is very simply wrapping up. Everything talked about that. Our work setting out to do and then a quick. Ask anybody concerned about anything. Any underlying threats that we can expect it based on what we're doing today any pitfalls that we can expect overview objective tactics and review. That's what we talk about the break. So you've given a brief on a concern abroad. Shop that hops since nice to be working in a team that consistent t renewal forever these light but maybe you're in a arranges threatened by something happens to the existing team member someday news brought end so you do anything different circumstance Member neither ray nor the background of history certainly adds a great question. That's where these stem critical skills of crew resource management. I emphasize during the execution phase of russia's that's where they come in so heavily And especially when. I talk about communication and assertiveness and were convincing new people even though they might be a little bit intimidated by the surroundings member. Comfortable what's going on. With this new organization. They still have not only the responsibility. But the authority to seek up. Take part using that. Assertiveness will take part in what we're doing and certainly keeping the lines of communication open one of the things i pressed robert about the leadership thing is not your my instantly leisure definition of leadership that is a designated leader. That's the person where here she is at the top of the pyramid there the top of the hierarchy because of role for title of their position. I i really stressed the importance of functional leader and that is when people take command of a situation when certain expertise or need for information arises only one person has even though they may not be at the top of that leadership hierarchy and that person whether it be a new or inexperienced person might be the person that can really save the day with a critical piece of information. That's why the communication and assertiveness skills it all kind of wraps together in this crew resource management game. Now i like sue jumping into the execution Inevitably you know. There's some challenges that come in are could be something as simple weather but usually something comes along with north How'd you how'd you either practice given do recommend.

"Luke Morgan. He centers it right through the goal mouth. And here is trying to turn it in now on power to blank in bird shot and roll had a fight that one on How power again plays an auntie in front and then his defense bobbled the pot, so they lost it. Veneers will keep it in. And it goes up. Office stick and on a play face job. Fortunately for Wisconsin, went out over the over the gloves. Wisconsin really loves to fly their forwards and Early in this game. Can York on the left side on power on the left side, they really have to retreat. They can't hold the blue line. They have to come back deep in the neutral zone and guard those flying wingers Strauss Man in the net for Michigan. He's captain of the Wolverines, along with Jack Becker. As they pump those fireside, my pastor job. I've taken out of his own zone, the gun of the hand. It skipped pound sport alone back to the Wisconsin territory. Now they'll play it all the way to the Michigan Zone and Jacob Trust in who you are. Game show got some nice accolades from his head goats. As the victims out to center rights. Rolling toward that Wisconsin line tip back towards the Michigan line verse plays it in for Sam Stang, but Pearson ran him off the park. Good body positioning by Pearson. Now the Wolverines will come out, Sonny. Here's uh, a pass of the Little Dipper son. He got hauled down penalty call coming up on Wisconsin and Michigan is going to go to the first power play the game. Just excellent Puck movement coming out of the zone. Keaton Pearson involved Let Apasco between his legs open ears could pick it up. And they tried to spring Brendan Brisson. And 18 year old freshman Anthony Care resorted to an illegal tactic to prevent person for a plain little showdown with Cameron Rohan, Michigan's power playing here here to 26 Mark. All the dangerous Camp Johnson out there for Michigan. 10 years at the center position, But the face off is won by Wisconsin and the Terek Baker will haul it all the way down in the Michigan territory, So the whole grains will regroup quickly and come out selling. They drop it back from veneers. He finds a avenue over on the left hand side, but then was turned back Now Johnson brought it in and is offside Face off, goes back out setting. A little problem for Michigan on the first entry at the Blue Line, and then the second time they brought it in not realizing that one of their teammates was trapped, so they switched up the power play Beach. You're born alone passed a job up front. York. And verse on the back end now bored alone. Smoothly back into his own zone, hands out the Camp York who had his 2nd 23 assists game of the year last night as a passage of trying to penetrate the Wisconsin line, unable to do so. So so far, Michigan having a little bit of difficulty gaining the zone. Now bordellos sweeps back to his own blue line steps up through the big block cam into the zone comes feature he fired one right through the Goldman. Now person on top of the circle is feature back to person on the point. Yeah, well, spread it out. Working on that Wisconsin Defense York plays it. Here's Basan. And his shot wide of the goal and clear down the ice and hit somebody. The Michigan player's bench so then tip face off. We'll go out to neutral links. Well, Big John Beecher. I haven't seen him score on the move this season. But is he swoops in on that left wing? He'll take a shot from a really, really, really sharp angle on trying to find just those two or three inches below the crossfire right near the goalies, right shoulder or even off the helmet. I'm trying to figure out where this face house gonna be. It was shot by Wisconsin into the Michigan bench. Now they're trying to determine how it got to the Michigan bench. That was by Wisconsin, and so they'll face it off outside Michigan territory. Now let Mark Faceoff win by Wisconsin Cause Michigan some valuable power play time as they come out setting Yeah. Om power in the middle till a point. He took it off to the side of Cameron Road grounds. It face off coming up. Another big freshman defenseman, Owen Power. Also singled out by Mel Power are by Mel Pearson Foursome compliments. During the pregame show and He didn't have a point. But I thought I want power was outstanding yesterday, especially his defensive play. Just not allowing the Badgers to penetrate between the dots. Emerson and Enomoto defensive pair will gather in the pocket. Baker will send it down the ice so so far on the paint Son of circle. Wisconsin has been a pretty good job much like yesterday. Michigan with an early good penalty kill badgers doing likewise today. L. A point on the right hand signed dropped it for blank Enberg around the boards. It goes winning. "City is rob Longer with you here getting you set for puck drop between number four Minnesota and fifth ranked Michigan. I mentioned that the coaches poll it's a 12 projection. Minnesota in that one spot Michigan and that number two spot to run down. The rest of them. Tied for that third slot is between Notre Dame in Ohio State. Fifth is Wisconsin. Six is Michigan State's seventh is Penn State. So how do those stack up to Well about through about eight or so games in this first half of the conference play. Here's where the conference standing shake out. Minnesota's in first place with seven games played 21 points, of course, that perfect seven and a record on the other side for Wisconsin. It's in that the badges on that to spot with 16 points, played eight games. Five and two mark and, of course, that one overtime loss at the hands of Michigan, speaking of the Wolverines there in third with eight points in the conference, seven games play, That's a two and four conference record. Ohio State sits in that four spot with six games, played seven points for the Buckeyes in the fifth spot. It's Notre Dame with six points. Michigan State has pencils should say has three points. And the number six spot and in the seven slot is Michigan State with two points. Latest U. S. C. H O Top. 10 has North Dakota in that number one spot with 27 1st Place votes. Boston College slots in the number two this week with 13 1st Place votes. Minnesota Duluth stays at three. Minnesota moves up a spot So four Michigan jumps two spots to five. Minnesota State stays at six. Clarkson jumps two spots to number seven U mass little jumps two spots to eight. Denver Falls five spots to number nine and rounding out the top 10 falling two spots. Is Massachusetts. Well, we're finishing up the national anthem at Yost and we'll send it back out to the guys. They're gonna call this one out. Randall and Max. Sure. Huh? Girl. All right, the national anthem here at Yo's Serena. No, Max. Those are similar to the uniforms you had when you play that soldier field. In Chicago. RCO Bill trainer and I were there. Tomo cover that game and We had the best view of any outdoor game. So far, we had a great view. We're no closer to the field in the mezzanine section. Of course I'm not including Big house That was the best of all time. But I mean, all the other places we've gone that was by far. Best place. Turnout wasn't all that great, but it was better cold. I remember. Yeah, certainly was cold and always trying to play those outdoor games down. Especially relevant for tonight. Always going to put that New Jersey on. I mean, pull this thing over your head that cream colored jersey. Not a specific throwback kind inspired by some of these older uniforms. Kind of take some of that history, and Colin makes you think about a little bit and Maybe that Jersey is just a spark. Michigan needs toe jump out on top of these Minnesota Golden Gophers and get a win here to finish off this first stretch of games that they played this season. Okay, now similar lineup as last night. Michigan's gonna watch after Ben Meyers. You heard? Uh, Nelle Pierson talking the postgame show yesterday that he was actually a player that he recruited to come here to Michigan. I want a strong game. He had Alex chipping in on all three. Go for bulls yesterday. That nice tally he played on the fire Bow team Strauss. I believe Be correct being the song all right now the former Clark Cup champions of the USA Challenge. Sure that felt good score one on his former teammate last night. I'm sure they were were scouting for Strauss. They went Whoa! Who's this guy? All right. Opening things job. Michigan, down below. And they'll attack from left to right as we want you to hear it goes. We have a nice thing. Call will go back down. By the APP for mentioned Strauss Man. Smell. Pierce Now coming out starting the game with his upperclassmen line. Caravan. Why? Arabian? Norm Boyle. I think the group that he wants more on up tonight. You know the guys. You can't expect to pick up some slack this weekend and No, it's kind of speaks volumes that he started these guys wants. I want him to get their head cleared and come out. Have a good game tonight. There goes loyal racing into the zone, trying to beat everybody that pocket He plays it on the end boards. I'm going down to keep it alive. Was Keaton Pearson, Michigan Going toe work in Minnesota territory here early. How the Wolverines will change. As Mike pastor job comes out with Ken Johnson and Jack Becker. We're in the first minute of flying No score as the Wolverines bring up to center ice. Can Johnson 10 incident behind the Minnesota Golden Gophers yet? And the puck comes the skittering ran out in front. One chance to chances. My pastor John was cross check to the ice. And it comes back down seven. So we're underway here last game before the holiday break. And, uh, quite a bit of optimism spoke by coach male person and that pregame show about a conference call, perhaps tomorrow and What a schedule might look like coming shortly. I want that be nice. L give these players little bit of certainty about kind of what lies ahead for him with this holiday break coming up, But being you know the insurgents gonna be president. No matter what, So for these guys just be ready to play at all times and Smell Pierce now sure, hoping that they were ready for fuck. Drop at 6 30 tonight as we're often running here, Iost That punk comes down summit. Back who was up on the line now with Walker and McGlaughlin a little bit different than what we saw yesterday. Perfect going to call up out of that top line with Walker and McLaughlin in a strong night last night, Jack her bex. There was Myers setting up Rybczynski like he did last night. But this time it was strongest man to the rescue made the same. In the shoulder with a good scoring chance already..

"10 blocks at home for a one. Nothing Minnesota lead. Well, that took 12 seconds and that's exactly what the doctor ordered for this team. Minnesota continues a streak of never trailing this season on this power play tally. I think important quality in that it shows sample ran to go into the net. Posting up right there. Getting that rebound battling for that. Bucky wasn't a pretty first battle too, and knocked it in. Well, that was after the shot of Nelson. I didn't hit the crossbar of the goalie or ran to the door and say, Yeah, I'm not sure wearing it, but Nelson teed it up after a nice feet across ice from Ben Meyers. So I'm saying it sold to that. I'm gonna pick up the assists on ranches fourth goal of the year. And now his seventh game behind the Minnesota Never forget back to live action. Gophers leading one. Nothing long shot from the blue line wide by power. Still free out in front Go for sweeping to the side boards. Pearson hustles over their critical shift. You got to shut these guys down right now Sort off ice reflected Buck off of Michigan State are Michigan's Carries deeper into his own powers being pressured by McGlaughlin on a good effort down there Now Michigan finally does get the center. They go across ice on the pastor's a shot high and wide off the glass for Morgan, stick in a sort of tossing it ahead. Here they come across the middle ring. Walker breaks towards a goal and he can't quite get there before the netminder man. Reaches his left Globo to hold on. I don't remember what your prediction was. But that power play goal officially is ranters his fourth gold of the year. It's only his first power play. Nelson gets the primary assist, assist number two for him. Then Meyers also gets an assist. That's his third. Those combination of assists our Northwestern mutual assists of the game, Northwestern Mutual will probably donate $50 to the University of men. "With coach Mel Pearson brought to you by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Well, Coach. I think you know what to expect. They're going to throw everything but the kitchen sink at you here in the first period tonight. Oh, yeah. You know, they're going to come out. You know, they probably reading off last night. One of the problems when you maybe you win the game, but let them feel like they have a chance that way did last night. Any system as they want, And now they think they have a chance. You know, and the puck speak and come out of them. We have to withstand that first five minutes tonight, and I think you'll see I couldn't get through that. You always ask me about the keys first. Want to again tonight to get through the first five minutes and then then start to play. They're gonna be energized. No, don't bother. Jack Becker back in the lineup, I would assume tonight. Up Big Jack's back in so he'll come in with Garrity and out really wanted trying your goal in the point, you know, Karen and you know, and they looked extremely good, but they'll get their chance against Minnesota. But we want to try to get him his before that. And don't also, you know, Eric until oh, you know, but it's pretty hard to take Charles out. When he's playing like the I know it's frustrating for Eric, but his day will come. You'll get the opportunity. And the thing with all these young guys just want to make sure you're ready. When you get that that call When your name's called you want to make sure you're ready. Everybody wants the opportunity. But you know, not everybody is ready to grab and then take advantage of it. And that's what I'm after. Just the guys too. Haven't had the opportunity to play yet, but they're going to get there get initiated pretty quickly next week. Howard. Of course. What you're referring to is you have five players missing next week for the Minnesota serious that will be headed off to the US World Juniors, and that's something that That Michigan coaching staff and you yourself coaches as you were were a coach for the U. S. A team one time at least. And and it's something. It's an opportunity that you always let the Michigan players go to. Absolutely, And you know, it's unfortunate that you know the big 10. I don't get too far ahead of myself, but they can actually both the game back in the weekend. Tuesday Wednesday and No. Initially we're all good guys going to be here and then leave out to that. But Because the covert and we II HF internationalized Doctor Federation change something role. Unfortunately, No people. Viewers. We didn't have a chance. You don't tense Mother get it They normally would, but too bad with those guys just tired. Do you do you find so far this year with the new face off rules of the games are being played of black cleaner and the flavors off circle and and and you get right at it right away. Idea. Plainer quickness of left jockeying for position. No, I like it. I like it. And the players have done a good job acting at this point and just lining up I like the rule where, you know, throw a guy out automatically. You know, you just get a warning. Down and across the park it that you're good, I think. One of the better rules have that 12 minute intermission. I think you'll like the feel good for the game. Okay. The final comment I'd like to get from your coach is your special team Joe has come to play on the road and they did last night. Your penalty killing was perfect last night, and I know you hope that continues. Yeah. You get a nice job, You know, there's good job goes. I feel that he was that I think will be about Garrett tonight. He was the first guy over the florist Point Kill panel. He thought he had to step up tonight. And that was shows real good, disappointing the game. We have the last three games we have That's the point of being on the ice. Coaches can't get any more exciting than this. Ah, chance toe sweep on the road and it's gonna be tough, but I think you guys are up to it and we're looking forward to the game tonight. You should be a good one. Now we've been in every game is not one game that we haven't had a chance to win. So we'll have a chance tonight, too. And then we just happened. Sure.

"You know, we saw quite a bit of, you know, past first little bit and you know, just jammed that thing I'm not And trying to make things happen. That way, you know doesn't go wrong Sometimes. Jack Becker didn't get in the game last night. I don't think he was 100%. We're not sure. We should say that, but he he will be in tonight. Aziz Going down was centered in the garret van. Why, and I'm not sure exactly Don't get a lot of information injuries. But I'm not sure where he was under what concussion protocol a week ago. So if he got his if he got banged in there again, he might be back on that Andre just speculating here, and we probably shouldn't do that. But he's not gonna be in the lineup tonight. Jack Backer comes into the lineup. Has a big body for Michigan, and they're going to need it. Yep, No question about it. Now we hope all the best for Garrett van. Why? And you know whether Jack backers, you know, health status in question or not. It's kind of a next man up mentality for Michigan, you know? Jack Becker's going to slide in for upperclassmen Garron, But why? And did you have a big night? Al? I hope he's ready to play because you know these upperclassmen were very important for this team last night between that past job goal, and, of course, Moyle opening the scoring early in the game, So you know for Senior captain, be back in lineup tonight looking for his first goal. I think it's something Michigan is going to be excited for. They always say that it's hard to win on the road, and that's usually because you're unfamiliar territory. You're in front of Ah, hostile crowd, But don't players like that. Never heard Sal, you know, get get you going a little bit Get you riled up and you know, it's always nice to spoil the party going to another team's building and, you know, send their fans home unhappy, so coarse little different scenarios. How many fans here tonight but same idea, you know, take care of business on another team's home I saw is always a good feeling limited fans for the game last night and tonight. Of, I guess would be the relatives or parents of the players, which which is good that they come in. But, boy, I'll tell you what, I I sure do, Matt. We've done seven games this year, and I sure do miss the crowds everywhere. It really makes college hockey so special. Well, you know not only the students sections with the bands that you know, alumni, the school's being there wrapping all that Michigan gear or the away team. You know, it's always nice to see so I think everyone misses their fans. I'm not enough silly. Sure how this is affecting the players. But now that we've seen some good hockey to this point this season, and I hope that continues this evening with this match up, all right. This is the Michigan Hockey pregame show presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. When we return, Mel Pearson will be standing by and we'll talk to him about last night's game and a preview of tonight's here.

"Gift getting hiding. That's not too great. So to me off at that and I just say You you didn't do enough you didn't do enough and you gave up way too much especially in the nick Ritchie deal and getting up that first. I imagine the Bruins would like to have that one back so off the tradelines, I would say the majority has been not great. And then the draft the draft has not been great. I mean if you look at the Bruins draft history, I mean there's obviously I mean, I don't even need to say it the 2015 draft age you started off with just Boral debrusk and Zach senyshyn and you know, we all kind of sit here and go. Oh stick our noses up at it. But I mean the draft itself off you get too Brusque out of it has been impactful Carlo impactful and Jeremy lasagna also got Daniel flat are who could pay some dividends down the road. JFK was a bust. You know Jack Becker. Not much Cameron Hughes might do something at some point. So, you know, Jacob Sapporo see some serious time this year. I'm doing a piece on that actually right now. You can look forward to so I mean a 2015 draft you had three straight first-round picks and and and you took some really good talent. So, you know, there were some good other picks in the draft but nothing incredible. I mean, you could not a lot better and then the 2016 draft came back and forth 14th overall pick very good Trent Frederic 29 that see that's the pic. To me that I look at I just say, you know, they projected him as like a third or fourth line centerman. I don't know why you used your first round pick on that on him. They're dead. So to me, I just that sort of a a common theme with this Bruins team with these late first-round picks. They draft, you know, they they draft these these guys who are projected to be like, you know, low, you know Top 9 sentiment. I mean, I don't that's the stuff that you just like what and then 2017 off, you know, go back and I and Jackson naked Jeremy swim and that could end up being a solid draft. I mean I think swimming a lot of people project to be really good stead Nika everyone projects to be the next pressure on even Cassity back in June the jury's out. I think this will be the year that you really start to see it and then 2018 nineteen and twenty are kind of too early to call. I mean John Peter everyone expects a lot out of axle Anderson's on them. Logo people have some expectations for this past draft was pretty irrelevant 2020 draft. I mean Data second or third fifth in a six round pick and they pick guys who were way off the board. So I mean he's had his good pics, but he's also had some really bad misses..

The Vienna Woods Killer AKA the Poet of Death

"We begin our dive into the notorious. Austrian serial killer Dr Johann Jack Survey Ker known as the Vienna Woods killer and the poet of Death Jack Hunter Vaguer was always a sadistic and violent man but for years he was able to mask dark side by presenting himself as an author of poet and journalist in one thousand nine hundred seventy six. Jack was convicted of murdering Margaret Shaffer and received a light sentence by the Austrian courts. Margaret was Jack Second Victim. However charges were never brought for his first suspected murderer but while he was in prison Jack took the time to educate himself he began to write short stories and poems it culminated in his bestselling memoir purgatory. His memoir caught the attention of Austria's elite and petitions soon wet around begging for Jack's release in one thousand nine hundred fifteen eighteen years into his sentence. Jack Vega was set free and his celebrity continued to flourish but just four months into his freedom. Jack's urged to kill sex workers revealed itself and for the next year Jack Prowl the streets of Vienna Prague and Los Angeles strangling sex workers with their their own underwear and dumping the bodies in the woods he was caught in nineteen ninety-two leaving behind him a trail of twelve bodies though there is speculation that he killed even more women who have never been identified Jack Interviewers life even at its beginning was marred by violence when World War Two ended in nineteen forty-five allied forces from the US Britain France and the USSR remained in Germany and Austria. The allies occupied the two countries as they began the long process to rebuild the occupation lasted for ten years ending in one thousand nine hundred fifty five during those ten years the German and Austrian birth rates spiked the procreation wasn't entirely between German and Austrian citizens instead many young women found themselves pregnant with the children of allied allied soldiers many children born during this time period had no idea who their fathers were in Germany roughly four hundred thousand babies had allied light fathers and in Austria that numbers around Thirty Thousand Jack Vegas would be counted among those thirty thousand in nineteen fifty fifty two ratio owned travailler. A young beautiful country girl took a trip to Trieste Italy while on this trip she met an American soldier hurt named Jack Becker. Unfortunately we know very little about their relationship but we can make some guesses based on the time period the aftermath the war forced many women to engage in survival sex work in order to make ends meet even worse. Many of these women were sexually assaulted by Allied soldiers. Either of these could have happened to Theresa. It's possible that Theresa was forced to engage in sex work to survive but it it is also possible that her time with Jack was simply a passionate fling one that resulted in pregnancy while pregnant to ratio returned to Austria and struggled to find work. She turned to petty crime like fraud and theft as a way to provide for herself in the weeks before giving birth to Jack back to ratio was arrested for fraud however for some unexplained reason Teresa was released. She then travelled to Yudin Burg Austria and on August Sixteenth Nineteen fifty gave birth to Johann. Jack faker named after his American father. Please note that much of what is known about Jack's. It's life comes from his memoir purgatory or the trip to jail report of a guilty man and it must be taken with a grain of salt written while he was imprisoned during the nineteen eighties. Jack's writing was solely intended to garner sympathy from those who read it Vanessa's going to take over on the psychology here and throughout the episode assode please note Vanessa is not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist but she has done a lot of research for the show. Thanks Greg as an adult it. Jack Unterweger was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. A couple of aspects of narcissistic personality disorder are exaggerating achievements mints and talents as well as having an exaggerated sense of self importance much of this comes through in the way. Jack describes the harsh upbringing. He faced as a child wild. Jack claims that his mother was a sex worker but nothing has ever been found to confirm. She made her living as one. The general consensus is that she worked as a barmaid and waitress Chris. It is possible that while she worked as a barmaid she engaged in sex work from time to time or that she told Jack that's how he like so many others at that time was conceived saved or it could be pure fabrication it could when Jack was two years old. Theresa was arrested once again for theft and sent to jail. Jack was then sent to live with his grandfather fair demand visor in Carinthia South Austria from this point on Jack claims to have had a terrible childhood. According to Jack Fernand visor was an abusive drunk who forced him to act like a quote court fool a slave. We've educated by grandfather to be a fraud accomplice injects version of events he was barely given enough food to eat or enough clothes to keep warm and according to Jack he had no mother figure around instead a rotation of sex workers in lovers frequented the tiny hut decades later Charlotta. Our Ferdinand stepdaughter would protest that all of Jack's claims about his grandfather were a pack of lies Charlotta had lived with Sheridan ad in the same house a decade and a half earlier in the late thirties. Charlotta never disputed that Fernand had a rough exterior a product product of his country upbringing but she believed the rest of Jack's descriptions. Were fabrications according to Star Lotte her own mother. Maria Springer lived with Jack and Ferdinand for about six years beginning in nineteen fifty two Maria helped raise the boy disputing the claim that only sex workers unfair demands random lovers around as Jack got older. He became something of a burden. He was very stubborn and manipulative. Charlotte claims that he would come up with clever schemes to get whatever he wanted. Jack's attitude soon proved too much Maria Springer and she left in nineteen eighteen fifty eight when Jack was about eight two months later Austrian child services took Jack Away from fair to net and placed him with Fernand sister. Mr The exact reasons why jack was taken away from Fernand are unclear. It's possible that Jack's delinquency and fair demands inability to control troll it were responsible or it's possible that fair. Dan was a little too rough with check now that Maria wasn't around to contain him. Charlotta our does believe that it was during those two months alone with Fair Dinette that the myth of the overly abusive grandfather began in addition to genetics a child's child's environment can play a key role in person forming narcissistic personality disorder or NPD according to the Mayo Clinic in most cases a child who was pampered or received excessive praise could develop the disorder however a consistently negative environment can also lead to NPD. If Jack Really did face the emotional and physical abuse from his grandfather as he professed. It's possible that the

C. again okay go to Suzanne Marie cell and coming to visit us here in Ann Arbor but the other part of it you mention a Clarkson they come in and play here at Yost up you got to take care of business in your non conference schedule so you put yourself in the best position when the NC double a you know comes around at the end of the season Carson's gonna hat should and they predominate are have good successful seasons in the AC AC take advantage of those opportunities here Yost western mishing at last year's have really good hockey teams there and make some noise in the NCHC those games if you take care of business matter at the end of the season our team knows that from a couple falters last year you can run some met metrics are you know mess around the matrix I think is is what you would do and yes we've been like superior take care of Merrimack last year on a Tuesday night in early January and you know we get a couple pucks past the Vermont goalie that say fifty one or fifty two that's a big difference in in where we fell in in the R. P. are in the paralyzed from twenty one to now we're fourteen or whatever it might have been and now you're doing now you're now you're in and who knows what happens when you read it right and so don't art players understand that we talk about it as a staff we talk about it as a team as we we embark on this non conference schedule but I like for the schedule set up with who we have come in deals all right great stuff well we wish Brian wise men the best of luck you're going forward will certainly certainly have a routine interest in the Edmonton Oilers a little bit I don't there's there's no current orbital formal rings on it on the team right Cooper already okay that's was it was just his rights were traded to Edmonton a couple years ago he signed after his junior year here at Michigan a tremendous you in your your he had a great year in American hockey league last year so we'll see how it all fits with Cooper some excited see Cooper on the ice and then camp and and talking to him on the ice and see where his development as but but yeah its exciting I'm I'm looking forward to the opportunity I'm intent we'll always have be watching this team you know closely in mine and and have a routine interesting how Michigan hockey does this year without tremendous pride well congratulations and good luck to you thank you all right tomorrow on the show are game my life with for Michigan cornerback James Whitley plus more from Michigan football and whatever makes our agenda this was inside out on sports talk ten fifty double to get a ticket four score and seven years ago our fathers brought we.

"Inside the huddle talking to a Michigan this is and how you coach Brian wise men will be leaving at the end of the month to take a job with the Edmonton Oilers an assistant coaching job with Dave Tippett and one of things were talk about hockey in just a few minutes here but coach Wiseman is a huge Michigan football fan one of the you know this isn't coaches you guys get the access the tickets your price one of the few guys who tries to get there if there's not off the hockey game you're at the football game most definitely I love taking recruits to the Saturday experience sometimes with their schedule they may be checking out early before the games done but then I just you know climb a few stairs and steps to go sit with my my wife to finish up the game I love Michigan football and Amberley side and pumped up about this year yeah and I mean when you look at the season and issue you know you talk to some of these guys I mean it certainly seems like it's it's gonna be a really good year is this the year your five break through wow here's what I say they'll be playing for big ten championship yes okay that's how I mean I'm not gonna get anything I'm not gonna I'm not going to push you here so I'm con I'm comp and I'm excited I'm optimistic about that and of what I've read what I've listened to you all talk about and then probably some home town optimism they go out coming out but I'm I'm a burger lose a loyal listener here this is when the guys who like what will tax me during a broadcast but Hey I you just said that or something like this I'm not Catholic we do we do have financing we do a podcast you're certainly welcome to listen to one and then shoot me one but Hey heard you yesterday this is where the wrong or anything like that alright so big Michigan will football be competing for a big ten championship Michigan hockey the same I am that was a part of you know eyes this opportunity was presented to myself lots of it is timing you know when you want to make the move to wherever that next move is up I am excited about this year's team and what this team can do on the ice and and it starts from leadership with will Lockwood and Griffin listen live Martin Jake's Lakers seniors we have a very you know experienced hockey team with senior leadership we got some grad transfers coming in that are going to help that out as well gonna be good pieces to it and then you know you have some guys that are good at what I expect and we as a melon and Billy as expected the staff to step up their game as well if it's a a Michael past you of a new pastor of now becoming a Caesar Jack Becker from a freshman year and getting back on track to that Nick blank in Bergen and you can go on and on of how Nolan morals had a tremendous offseason and then we talk about it our goal tending Hayden Levin a senior yeah he's taken this team to a frozen for two years ago Strauss man you know one championships a **** hockey in USHL before it you know a freshman year Michigan now what is he ready to do this type of progress is he ready to make as a sophomore it's exciting and then you talk about the freshmen are come in at a cam York at Johnny Beecher air tickling these come in and Nick ran away it's a local kid come in and it's going to be tremendous and am all over from Sweden comes in as a transfer student went back in was a top ten scoring USHL so lots of the needs we talked about is speed and skill and character and leadership experience that we thought we we needed to address I think this team and the staff certainly with Malon Billy and myself last year we address that and and that's what's execs me about the potential distant you mention a couple grand transfers yes so we have a local kid coming in from B. U. Shane Switzer okay a high school hockey player here plates in junior hockey there after went to Boston University he'll come back here's a grad transfer and I think I can say it I'm not implying that come up and play my my long night I Jacob Hayhurst come in from RPI graduate in three years from our pay which is a yeah absolutely top scorer in junior hockey out of Toronto area in the with the USHL one of their top scores in last couple years at RPI so you're adding skill you're at an experience it's a nice combo and I think that's what we talked about this team needing to have to maybe to make that next step yeah in a very competitive big ten what's going to be this year because that's when things is is we're looking at it is where is that we're just going coming from Josh Norris is gone Quinn Hughes is gone a little bit concerned of where the scores come from no you like as you mention a lot of the freshmen that are coming in but to add a couple of those grand transfer pieces and accomplish score really helps it certainly takes the burden off a young eighteen or nineteen year old come in and have to Ted Ted carried in that type of pressure the load can York's going to do his thing Johnny beach is going to do his thing without question be a big part of our our success here at Michigan successor this year I catch myself talking about our success our mission but a Michigan six always gonna be your success a part of our success rate all world we're all a part of this but you do you talk about the grad trance you talk about some upper classmen take in more of a role on better prepared for a role were seen some of that growth in that maturity in some of the guys that have been around here too in three years so it's exciting I'm at Michigan hockey fans should be excited about the potential of this hockey team and the direction it's going well let's talk goaltender because a year ago this was you know back and forth and becoming Strauss man's job towards the end how does he take that step and is is does Michigan get the hate Levin of his sophomore year his mission get the he living as junior yeah and and that's and that's because one was really good and one was pretty average in and that's that's an area we we talked about some different areas or special teams have to be better on both sides of it our goal tending some of our discipline has to be better in some of those areas that we talked about and and very doable changes and and not not expectations that we we don't think that can happen I can mention Hey Levine took this team to the frozen for two years ago and was a huge part of it Strauss man championships in **** hockey in junior hot one year of junior hockey in the USHL that up I for the most part are you with one of the top up your amateur leagues in North America as a young goalie and so the track records there they have some history and we need we need them to to you know develop continue their development curve and be a big part of this team's success now with that it's also team defense as well that we we talked about can we keep the pop you know out of our zone for you know lengthy periods of time can we maintain some also in possession we think we have the guys in the the skill that to be able to do that that will help then take the burden just off our goals yeah I mean it you know there is a a deeper defensive corps and then past years I wonder though you know who replaces that huge offense of production from the blue line that Quinn Hughes was offering the last couple years yeah I I don't think it you know Quinn's a special talent and you've been around Michigan hockey for a long time maybe the more the more intriguing unique talents at Michigan's have along the blue line we've had great ones whether saccharine ski Jack John through the Jack Johnson and the list can go on and on I would put in my I've does for the just named excuse me for just name and then I'll put Eric Warner was the top five offense of defensemen in missing of seventy eight years I've been current team that I've ever seen and Michigan without question and sold to replace him in his office production one person I don't think it's going to come in and do it but some of the guys we have come in and and some of the guys that are here are ready to take a step I think by committee can do it Griffin loosen Luke Martin as senior is going to be big parts of this hockey team are they both can provide the offense the queen Hughes no but there gonna add something they may add it to the offense of side on the Ford side because they're gonna defense so great and we're gonna get the puck in the fords answer these not skilled faster in a more experience for that we have that's one way to look at it just not who's gonna score from the blue line but then you have a guy like cam York it and keep piercing come in as a freshman chain Switzer as I mentioned and Blankenburg and summers you know in ginger those guys taking steps as now freshmen to sophomores it it's I think the defense is going to be a strength of this hockey team yeah it really it really should be and it's been it's been trending that way the last couple years we've seen some terrific performances from in the past from Joseph's Coney and from Nick Boca and you know you fell if they're sort of take some of those strides last year unfortunately in a Michigan ran out of time that you didn't have a good enough stretch early on the season by time that you're playing better you could make up for it and so it's about getting off to a better start the got a very interesting fun schedule we can have a second the what the what I'm curious about looking at is you lose Josh nor should talk about some of the upper classmen Jake's Laker and the pastor of brothers and and will Lockwood the line that was that blew the doors off towards on the season was geared van why Nolan more oil and I believe there are third one was to code Robbie yep and so they really came mine and I know when you get togethers assistant coaches and and with with Malon the offices you talk about in a long lines that we want a pair together all of the things do you going to see any sale like we're gonna keep those three together and see if they recapture the chemistry because if they do my goodness what type of start we can have to have a great number one or number two line you certainly have those conversations without question of how the chemistry between if it's not three guys it's two guys in in is there something there but that line as a line of three certainly did they were impactful as everyone thought they were quote unquote a fourth line they created chances for us with on offense so I wouldn't categorise him as a fourth line coach Pierson doesn't like they have this one two three what is what coach lakes I had it but you know what the rest of us that are paying attention it's pretty clear who gets the most ice time who scores the most my goals it it we know who's number one we know his number two and we definitely have his number what number four and one good thing with this line if you will and I don't know what the plan is with the three of them.

"Crossed the line for sheep. Pausing. Is he backs down the left side to and back over to she? Doc on the blue line walking toward the middle waiting. Daughter CI, he in the left circle download improper dates in his job, the flex off a looses leg. Angles wide finally cleared by Michigan. Look at powerplay so far a minute in. Across the blue line in the right wing. It's she finally sooner. And on foot maintains control back onto the point on the right side for. Gates. Like going off, Boca stiff. There is a new one off to she Novak. Novak with the fire. Back out there with a fresh stick. Moving in from the right side. What's the roster goal deflected wide? The league of defense on Jack summers. List? It's an escape not the dig it all the corner back onto the point relayed for Novak. Boy. She waiting. Radon? She trying to pick up the loose puck and hands it off. Sends a cross lows. Fire's Novak weather this group long time now. Senator Levin say big shot there by Novak. Yeah, you're right while he does this power. These guys have been out for the full two minutes. Meanwhile, must've comes back past off fresh out of the penalty box slow down by Jack goes air to ring it on around not out and this kept alive by Jack Becker, Michigan then turn over roll it up the boards in his picked up by Blake mcglaughlin has to be hanged. Act two point shot. It's traffic out in front of the Michigan wolverines Lockwood comes back. But good back took him by mcglaughlin broke up the play birth picks up the lose biscuit. He'll just put it in his Minnesota changes on the goal now. Three minutes and five seconds left. Wide all Michigan getting perilous times in their own zone. Nali turn it over to the gophers will neutralize where you get a chance. Watch that play together right in front of the net. That was nice. He turned an interception in to a an assist a near assist in a blink of an eye. I mean, he's always thinking ahead by at least one play. He's always the move ahead. Nanny hammered into the inboards back in the Minnesota zone. Bunch was picked up by Michael pastula to the point Martin it last side loose with the Rishat what fire ABSA still free. Gopher scoop up then start up ice. Three d in the dissolved. Cans it down in behind the net leases there, then lost it. Now. "A goalie switch for the Michigan wolverines compared to the last time. The gophers played them the freshman stroz man played in both of those games. But tonight, it is a junior. Hayden Levin getting the starting nod. Meanwhile, Matt Robson goal for the golden, sir. Buckle down. And we are underway comes back to the defense. When Joseph's accounting who gets it over to the dynamic Quin Hughes. Outstanding player was younger brothers baby. Number one overall draft pick in the NHL coming up this June. Here. Come the gophers outta their zone. Look on the left wing side. Shoot out the glass, he was partially deflected office. Coney Nelson county behind his goal. Try to get it up the boards and does for we'll Lockwood rubbed dumped into the Minnesota by Jack Becker. I take possession from him. Both teams came long breakaway pass. Just misses gates. All the way down as he's the first floor back after it tied up momentarily along the boards in its third. Oh to center ice gophers going DVD, souls Dourthouse it up the right side swooping McManus dropping it off one on the right side in Thailand, he has a long pass miss everybody. Iceland's waves off sample rate gets it on the fourth quite playoff the board. But it's kicked off or bought up ice. By the wolverines before they the hand it right back to Minnesota's defense. Thank you very much. Novak will relay it. In back behind goal is Jack Sobers offense went for the wolverines got it at the center gopher quake it up. Novak quickly starts Ranta away down the middle. His glasses off of suburbs and goes wide. Phillips pitches in punch back down the left wing corner for Rachel. Doc off and try to clear it out the veteran and steady defenseman Nichols Boca has it. But we do have a whistle on the play on. Pretty pretty much a minute. Forty three seconds of play to the left of the Minnesota. Blue light. I've done a very good job controlling the puck. Need to give a couple of lineup. Updates for the wolverines. Key among them. Josh norris. Yeah. Out of the lineup and has not played hockey since world junior tournament where he was injured apparently will be going surgery, and that's it for the year for him. Yeah. This is too bad from world determined. He was leading score at the time to really takes a lot of Warri lineup middle of the year. He had nine goals in Tennessee's nineteen points at the middle of the year. That's healthy bumpers. Sure are. Play remains in the wolverines all Jack Sadiq pitches down deep into the corner. Somebody's lots of stick Burghausen falls was me. Just couldn't quite the slot. Otherwise, you would have had a great scoring jams. Nonetheless, you didn't get it on. But it is cleared off the goalkeeper in autozone. Turnover. There's a shot on goal and a nice day by his first early tasks. Good. Remember what we were talking about? How many pieces of bacon? Matt Robson is saved. There's another one. Yep. Or the other end. Here's a shot taking advantage of that is cute by the warring defense is going to be. This defense optional here tonight. I guess. Well, yeah. I don't think the coach is really want to go at it that way. Teams have been recruited to go north. I mean, we have a bunch of defensive-minded coaches are programs air. No, they don't Michigan is we checked before the game. When Mel Pearson is a team really likes to take a lot of shots or aging thirty seven shots at night. Second best in the nation behind Penn State and the gophers are given up thirty three. So this out of the race. There's another shot on the wolverines and turn away by wraps up. Julia Lambert, you think that hit him in the mask. Sure gophers had a four man wash. Join Jack Ramsay will send it down the boards looking for reading the quarter. Go to the end Lambert picks up the puck on the right wing side flies off to the left side of the ice far for Birdman warrant. The door. Sounds it up the right wing boards. Jack Ramsay takes off his skates clears to center ice. Why Norman is there to help oaks on the right side? One again four cuts. A goalkeeper save. And then a totally forthcoming on interference. Job by Ryan Norman down there. Good. An obvious call by the official on that interference at center ice. It was a big time yet. But the gophers will go to the first power play this game at three thirty three. And with the wolverines short who's in the box. They're win boring..

"But this is our passion is what we love doing. Yeah. So do you wanna ask the next one? The next question is from Joe Calderone says who does the voice over for your segment drop intros? This is a very common question, by the way, the segment drop intros for both this show and the spitball, oh, that's a professional transition where if the spe. So if you're not listening, you know, you've got to shows right now. Now that the fantasy season's over if you're not listening to the spitballs pint guests like if you like us talking about something, which is what we do on this show. I think. We talked about nothing on the spitballs pipe. Can we talk about absolute ridiculous scenarios? And that's a once a week show. If you didn't get drops on Mondays this. We also do then a fun draft of random stuff and to to till is the imagine tight and the imagination this past draft. We did was all about us being in a grocery store in a fight to the death using only the food around us. Yeah. Food fight to the death. So if you want to check that out the segment all the segments have a little different vibe to them. But that's the spin. I guess but who does the voiceover? Mike will never tell. Yeah. We did say ask us anything. We didn't say we would answer ever that's one of the the trade secrets that. Mister x he is. He says we shan't reveal him. I wanted to imagine. It's kind of like you remember the fifth element movie where they have the little little creature on. The desk of Zor, whatever his name is do you? Remember, this animal has little I want to imagine we have just kind of like the secret guy in a box just comes out. He just comes out and does our interests. And then goes back in the box. It's a creature is actually Jason's child. Oh. Sundial? Very manly voice. Very what he's eight years old. Yeah. Instagram question from Jack Becker or the Jack Becker v I don't wanna get confused. Oh, he said at footballers down, which is my Instagram handle wondering if your daughter is adopted assuming that she is. And then how was the adoption process asking for a friend, and my wife, and I we did adopt our daughter we were there the day she was born. So the experience was unique as I could ever imagine, you know, you we have two older boys and our daughters adopted and the process is a whirlwind anybody out there who's been through it. Obviously, there are a lot of different ways that adoption happens through foster care. And through the state and through private adoption in those type of things this person's asking for a friend because he says that the wife and him would like to adopt over the next year or two my wife, and I simply had a passion for mothers out there that are in difficult situations and have made the the brave decision to give up their child to adoption. And that's how we always had that passion. From the time. We got married in new we wanted to adopt. And so that's kind of what that came out of Saul. Yeah. It's it's it's an experience every one thing, I know because we have a lot of friends that are in foster care that work with adoptive parents. I've never heard an adoption story. That's the same as the as somebody else. They're all very very unique when it comes to relationship with the birth parents and the circumstances surrounding them, so definitely a whirlwind. I probably can't remember all the details anymore. Right. But we're very, you know, we were very thankful for for the opportunity we have to to adopt. So Instagram question from Cody Newman opinions on auction drafts. Just general opinions action.

"And that time kilgore's came up huge wrap wraparound try this plan out in front again at one office skate not owner Dan will have the center rides and it's awful player into the players bench. Faceoff out at that's a better ship. That's pressure down below the hash marks in Notre Dame zone. Put the pressure on them making them play in their own zone. That's Michigan hockey great job by the wolverines. Got to continue to put the pedal down when you have a key free. Nothing. One of those teams that country out push the pedal. Get the pucks towards the debt and get another one here Albert Morrison up for Notre Dame. And coach Mel with his wife with Luke Morgan Jack Becker, Jake slicker, we have a whistle. And they stop at your play in the Michigan zone. Michigan doing a good job there. At the bluewater offense staying up not giving up to Notre Dame. Make it hard for them is getting zone entries. Simple ways. You can make it hard on getting into the zone. They can't have any time down there. Straight nothing, but she got on top here. The first period. Little over five minutes revealing as the puck goes rolling. Do the Michigan Joe Nick blanket Burke dolphin out of the zone up the boards there? Now. One of the wolverines was hold down. Right here side. Joan Notre Dame shot NSA by Levin. Rebound off the side of the goal. Notre Dame still has the puck. Log shot. Never got through over Ames. We'll go out center ice. They're gonna partial gentlemen. Three nothing lead. Puckett Nick Blankenburg. Al he's hopping around out there in the corner. Trying to get off the ice for nice block, Nick Blankenburg. The freshmen. Valve Michigan deeply their own show. Those gone up to center ice. There's a. And it went through the legs of Moore's what he recovered and got that puck before one overlooked goal line and a face off and Notre Dame zone. I can think of two things right now. He's not picking it up. He's not see it from the neutral something's wrong there or he's just for extremely nervous. I'm not sure. Positively actually with four twenty-five left till the first three nothing. Michigan. Good IMG hockey, work work moves..
