I listened that during college football season, I don't listen to it when it's off season. How is it do off season? Okay, so it is interesting. There is a part of this, like local is sort of easier sometimes to latch on to, right? You think, oh, there's a bigger audience with a national show, but local people want their thing. And so if you're giving somebody all a high state, I love Ohio State. I want to Ohio State 5 days a week, boom, here we are. When we're doing a broader, we're doing a bunch of teams. And if you're in a high estate fan, it's like, hey, we're talking about Utah a lot today. We think it's an interesting topic. We think it's all connected, but it's not Ohio State. It is a little bit of a harder sell. So I'm happy with it, but we're still trying to get more traction, but we understand that it's just a different thing. Especially the podcast world hue, right? All these little niches, you can get your little thing and I think that's probably the most attractive thing about podcasting. It's not the breadth. It's the specificity that really attracts people.

Criminal Justice Professor's Journey From Prosecutor to Defender
"Read Barry a little bit about your bio, your CV. You have been doing this for a long time. You have a great background in this for over three and a half decades. He taught courses on criminal justice criminal law procedure state constitutional law, capital punishment, and most recently crime history. You've been written up. You're writings have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, New York Post, New York Daily News. Interesting piece, though, that I picked up Barry was that you were the you were served as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn in 85 and 86, and you would counsel to indigent criminal defendants in Manhattan. I can't help but think that that was a very interesting experience. So these were folks that couldn't afford defense, right? And you stepped up on their behalf. I know this is sort of a side Barry, but does that inform kind of what you're talking about now? I mean, what did you learn from those people? Sure. I was a professor for most of my life, and I said, you know what? I can't get all of the knowledge I need out of a book. And I asked my chairman at the time, I want to take a leave of absence and I want to go work as a district attorney. And I did. And I did in Brooklyn during the crack years. "Was there anything else. Sorry craig go head to that point about you mentioning that. He's not the we need to be but he doesn't need to be a semi more at the moment. We just need him to get us some solid innings if he gives me five innings next start a couple of runs against yankees and we can actually manage to get some offense. It's still win. Yeah that's right now. yeah. I'm just. I'm not a fan of it to start off because then you had to win. The next to your cushion is gone leg. Especially he's performing the way he has been. Your cushion has gone. I like the idea. Starting bats if we can find that out mats and that would have been like filled up against that. That's interesting and i thought so. Berea starts friday right. And then you go ray manila. You have your off day. Monday and you go to matt's that puts brio and line for wednesday that would be short rest for potential. Gave one sixty two so. I'm not sure how they're going to manage that. And that would actually lineup. Stephen matt's for the last game of the regular season which would be interesting at that point. So yeah they have some tough calls to make in terms of what's going to happen with the way they lay out the rotation. But i don't know guys. I mean the twin series. I think that went just as we expected. I think we all hoped for sweep. Just because they're weaker opponent. Real obviously didn't start very well. Josh donaldson burn them quite a bit on friday. And everybody's was starting to think just say it was right. Yeah right again saturday. When they got off to their early lead to run homer again. Like oh shit. This guy is going to single handily. Keep them out of the postseason and he has another opportunity to do it again for four games this week at his home ballpark by i don't know. Is there anything else you guys wanted to add onto the twin series. They're pretty as expected. Maths went pitch. Well and saturday burritos pitch well on sunday during nfl. Sunday and whatnot or anything else. You wanted to add onto the twin series. Now it was nice little. I don't want to cushion but is exactly what the need and coming out of this series. Which i'm sure we're going to get into a four game. Stint against minnesota is exactly what the jay's need to this right yup hundred percents. I just wanted to point out a point here. That was a. I think a little bit bigger than sports that was going on in the rogers centre which styles and coming home. I don't know if you guys saw that highlighted them changing vladi and him. Changing jesse's at church cool things i've ever seen you know baseball players. Don't do that as such a football thing. And it's been a basketball a little bit too. But the fact that they took not only the jersey exchange but they took time to sign each of their jerseys before they exchanged. I thought that was really cool and Was that the official passing the torch that we didn't get yes during the fact that we didn't get to see josh donaldson and his last season as a blue jay so it was really really cool and then as what is it sucks. Lose that the twins. I am not shocked that he went off during that series. This area jay randolph. Longtime golf announcer jay randolph. Junior longtime golf announcer. A really is unbelievable and jay. Delsing story is unique. His dad played major league baseball. Saint louis browns yankees and his nephew taylor twelve. And there's a lot of sports in that delsing family tree. But jay's going to be playing in the inaugural ascension charity classic which is coming up in a couple of weeks norwood hills and a lot of great golf history at that core itself hosted the nineteen forty eight. Pj championship won by the legendary. Ben hogan norwood is taking shape the bleachers sweets all going in and soon some of the biggest names in the history of golf will be descending upon saint louis highlighted by tom watson and jack nicklaus squaring off on the saturday fund charity event. But also you start thinking about major champions who are going to be here and ernie els davis love the third john daly hopefully freddie couples part of it all but we'll talk jay about the field about the access. Different is this. Pga tour champions from a regular tour isn't a little bit more laid back. That's sort of my sense going into this. And jay's played on but used to be called the senior tour how about his college team. Jay delsing from saint. Louis plays college golf at. Ucla in his teammates are corey. Paving and steve pate and duffy waldorf and went over until about a stack team at the collegiate level. But this event is going to be a lot of fun because saint louis always shows out for big time sporting events. We saw what the gymnastics trials down at. The dome and might my sense here. Is this one is going to become a staple on the sports calendar. That's the one thing we've been missing In terms of regular events golf has not been on the calendar as a regular event since the lpga. Michelob light left town. That was at forest hills every year. And we've had certainly occasional big-time golf events like the pga championship bmw championships. In that have been scheduled over the years but regularly. We had the seniors out at boone valley. But i think this one's gonna stick the buzzer has been great..

"Surprise me at all so blues fans should be very encouraged with what we're seeing and what have right now and i know it's really easy to come off an all star game high known and i know we're going to transition into that soon but while we're here though coming off an all star game which was way better than anticipated it to be and those years actually looked better with them wearing them than we saw. I'm glad they put the canadian flag on the on the heart. That was a good touch. The all star are the fourth of july thing. Yeah and no. I just think it was a good touch. I think it was a really good display and bluejays fans should be proud and excited at least for the future. Maybe not the immediate future but at least for the long-term future at these two players in particular stops right at the end. But we'll get we'll to that point bring you back up front in your thoughts at the wrap up this conversation about the all star game. I wanna point out. Really quick though pope To your point shot adam. He is now officially one hundred. Sixty two games and major league baseball basically to close out the first avenue season and he's bat a mere three hundred with thirty two home runs. One hundred and one rb is twenty stolen. Bases one hundred. Twenty one runs scored. I'm guessing jays twitter account. Then i guess what i'm looking at. That's where you're going when you start with that. But no i'll on sorry guys turn be the he's gonna be Getting his fair share of all star vote ends as well and be in the starting lineup. Maybe not every year. But he's the kind of guy he'll be a perennial all star as well. So you definitely gonna have to blue jays. All stars moving forward. I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or two. You throw pitcher in there as well. The next five to seven all star games are probably going to be at least three blue jays. If not more and that's awesome considering that we're so many years of just one blue jay being roy halladay jose bautista a couple years when they had what i think there was one year that even at six in with michael saunders. Getting that last vote in sixteen. So we're getting back to that stage and the fact that there three blue jays starting lineup and you heard the toronto blue jays name called three times during the intros was just unreal. Is because i can just picture some random sitting there who doesn't pay attention to baseball that much was like. Wow the jays actually have some really damn good players. I wonder how they're doing and they must be surprised that there are only forty five forty two but john. Smoltz settled abroad. Gases like this offense is incredible. Just imagine if they had a little bit pitching and that's the theme of the second half of the season. Let's see what you trying to reorder my agenda see. I was trying to steer toward youth movement. So go to draft but okay fine trade talks. I see how you're so but anyway before we get into the trade dogs. I know we're going to spend way more time on that. And i would probably be a ton of this episode and i wanna be able to focus on that. Let's knock them. I'll be draft stuff right out of the way here really quick. He's the blue jays actually had a sneaky good draft for a team that we had what the twenty second pick or something like that nice..

"Good afternoon blue. Jays fans and welcome to the first quick hit of the season. spring training. Baseball is back in the toronto blue jays. Come out on top six two four in their first game against the new york yankees. What a welcome afternoon. It was as the blue jays finally get a chance to show off a little bit and the offense was clicking as we would've predicted you know. This is how everything is looking for the toronto blue jays that there's going to have to bludgeoned people to death with their offensive prowess and then they're going to have to run enough out there on the pitcher's mound to be able to hold off the lead and keep them up in front. So that's exactly what happened. Today is the blue jays jumped out to a very early lead as you. If you were following our tweets during the game we were live. Tweeting on the at birdwatching. G c. twitter handle ride till as broke open the scoring with a ground rule. Double he lays down the right field line. Took a nice little hop over the right field wall and that scored marcus semi-in and boba shut looking good right off the bat for the trump bluejays in the top of the first coming in the second inning with which they would score again kevin bijou also known as adam corsairs. A man crush monday scores. Jonathan davis every just stolen second base and the double puts the blue jays ups three to nothing looked very very impressive. Right off the bat and the third inning. The blue jays scored again. This would be the fourth or third consecutive inning. That they were able to score in they would score. Four innings in a road opened up the scoring on this game. Johnson davis singles in a line. Drive that drove in vlad junior who had walked before that and it looked on. Actually i take that bag. Got hit by a pitch i believe. So either way vlad junior running around from second home in a little single at happens to go through this all between third and short looks very good indeed. Looks like junior is definitely lighter than we have seen in the first couple years of seeing him as a blue jay. so blue jays fans get excited. An fourth-inning lors korea junior singles on a fly ball that brings out a lopez. Who is a pinch running. And he scores so that blue jays at the time were up five to nothing and even at this point in the ball game. They haven't even given up their first pitch. Or i of the game so very very impressive to be able to start the game and just looking great all round and i wanna say the best part of this was actually probably how anthony k look off the bat in the game and looked very impressive in his two innings of work doesn't give up any walks no hits two strikeouts and noting keegan matheson saying that he was actually running around ninety seven miles per hour during this outing and look very impressive. So anthony k vying for that one of those rotations spots. He very well could be off to a very good start coming on coming in after him. Tj zoya who also look very impressive and in bantering back and forth with guest of the show jason lee. We were discussing where his tenure could be for the blue jays. This season and i made the comparison that he looks very similar to pat hank in or a right handed mark burleigh with how he keeps the ball low and just kind of baffled pitchers back and forth with speed twelve. Six curveball is looking very very good already. This spring for tj's like who would pick up the wind in this game and run right through it. Unfortunately for blue jays fans teach gigawatts pack. Give up a little bit of this leaves. He gives up three earned runs on three hits and two of those. Were back to back home runs so it was a little hard to walk. Jacob llagas pack in this part of the game but in all reality. This is where we are. You know. you don't know what you're really gonna get from jacobs ouaga's pegs. I think blue jays fans got teased a little bit of what he could be a few years ago but in all reality that might've been where his ceiling actually was yet to be seen. And we'll go from there. And then you know after the fourth inning or so this is when all the kids in the youngster started coming in the blue jays did get to see kevin smith enjoying groshans along with auto lopez and forests wall is the main highlights of this late. In the game. Though unheard of slash resurgent and candidate and logan workman warmth was able to run out and had two hits in his whip bats including an opposite field home run where he was very very impressive. Taking a deep over the right field wall and off of a former big leaguer use. I was even more impressive. Logan warmoth ends up putting the icing on the cake for the toronto blue jays. Who would go on to win. Six two four ten hits to the yankees five and one air so what come on. This blue jays have a lot more to come but it looks exactly what blue jays. We're thinking. Lots of offense sprinkling with just enough pitching and if this is the mole. The where the season could be. It's a good start for word is all going so tomorrow the blue jays will be playing the philadelphia phillies at the moment. They're saying that. Robbie ray is going to be on the mound and it will be a first home game for the toronto blue jays this spring. Obviously i know we're really far in in. The first game was played today with that first win but it will be impressive to see robbie ray where he picks back up and goes from there so blue jays fans glad and super excited to have you back. This is craig born with you here on the first quick hit for the actual toronto blue jays game. Recaps that we're going to hopefully start here. "I gotta say first thing that comes up every week again and there's been asked repetitively this evening is trevor. Bauer still a blue jay target. And you guys actually elite that no no. I'll what do you think the answer is we need. You know what i think. The scary thing is craig. I think he is a possibility. I think the blue jays office just might go ahead and say you know what we've got all the press got all the look. We can agree that getting the focus on your team knows more important than ever because everyone's stuck at home and fans are hearing root for something to believe in. Can you imagine if this tomorrow announces that they've signed. Trevor bauer multi year deal. Whatever it is the problem is. I personally would wonder whether a guy like back handle this market or at least the association with this market because it's such a larger than life personality. You know mercurial talent. He's figured it out but again he's one of those guys that like you ask yourself. Do you really need him to take the next step forward to absolutely win because the answer is yes you do it. But the cultural followed. I don't know how much you guys. How much stock you put inside building. Culture tradition of baseball trevor. Bauer is just a really wild card. Tough player to get you know. He's like getting a james harden. You know you're getting talent but you're also getting a lot of baggage and temperament that may not coalesce last nicely with your goal ability championship team. Or you're saying you don't wanna ask him rifle balls into the flightdeck build again. I don't want them kicked in the balls when he's walking outside canadian streets thinking you can just mouth off the way he does. He's like i said i. That guy also has a history and unlike springer was associated with the team. Bauer to me is like a lightning rod for controversy. It seems like a either we. You're talking off. "It's going on guys and welcome to this quick. Hit addition of jaybird. Watching adam corsair and look. I'm just Killing here reflecting on the george springer signing and put out a couple of tweets. Little thread and craig was like. Oh you should make that a quick hit and me being the opportunist here in you know with the microphone in front of me. I figured why not First of all This george springer assigning It it's sort of. I don't know it's a. It's a monumental thing for the toronto blue jays for more than just the reason of being the largest contract Handed out in franchise history There's a real sense of eagerness and an injection of optimism when it comes to this team's aspect in proposals for the future and other words this legitimate possibility that right now we can view the toronto blue jays as being legitimate consistent contenders and it's crazy that one signing makes the difference right one signing sort of tied and flips a switch for this team to being sort of fringe contenders to legitimate ones and it's encouraging and the the aforementioned tweet thread that i made really juxtapose this with two thousand fifteen because you might be thinking. Well look at them. Two thousand fifteen bluejays had a legitimate to make the world series and that was probably one of the best teams ever constructed top the bottom for the blue jays and that's true ray and it is certainly one of the best teams that the blue jays constructed and it is legitimate that the team almost made a postseason run. They were ninety feet away from tying the game But the difference between this signing right now where the bluejays are at right now compared to two thousand fifteen and a little bit of two thousand sixteen is that at that point in two thousand fifteen and sixteen the the guys that we were relying on the jose bautista as and when winning can arsia choice till the whiskeys russell martin's. They were either just leaving their prime or a little bit past it. Whereas right now the players that were relying on flat amir guerrero junior cavin visual bogut rowdy tillis tasio hernandez laura's correal nate pearson into a lesser degree george springer because you could argue. He is in his prime right now. He's in that group but the affirmation players aren't even in their prime. They're so young right there so young and they're still so much potential for them to reach a certain point that will just blow us away that if they're this good now they could be even better for years to come. And that's encouraging for assigning like george springer because springer could influence that building in momentum springer could be that catalyst that invites other free agents to want to come to toronto which has been very rare up into this point. Right sprayer could be that guy that could give advice to the bows of lads the cabins and how to improve their offensive production. Say right in specifically maybe he can help laura's gorilla on the alpha with his you know because he still rather raw when it comes to his outfield technique and his approach the playing field. All these things are sort of a domino effect as to where this could lead the team moving forward and it's for me that's incredible. It's really really encouraging to see this injection of optimism and this push this realistic push to be consistent contenders if you remember back in two thousand while the end of two thousand fifteen heading into sixteen. When atkinson shapiro took over. That was the goal. The goal is for this team to become consistent contenders. The goal was to become a team that consistently makes it to the postseason now. I'm not saying that that's guarantee obviously happened. In baseball players get injured. Things happen You can't count on a team. One hundred percent before season starts to make it to the postseason but you can sorta project it right and right now on paper. Even with the lack of starting pitching death jays are legitimate postseason contenders that does not mean there contenders for world series. Not quite yet. I do think they need to bolster the starting rotation in order to achieve that. But it's a legitimate possibility and probability that the blue jays will be heading into the postseason and may even win the east not just this year but years to come. That was encouraging. And don't forget there so much depth sill. We haven't even emptied the cupboards. That's the difference between two thousand fifteen. Moreover is that in two thousand fifteen. What you had on the field is what you had. That was your future if you're not riding or dying with this team. It's it whereas now this team vlad bo cavin rowdy lord.' tasker. They're under contract for quite a while. Right and extensions are going to happen. And you get the pitching depth you get neat pearson. Come patrick murphy. Still in the system simian would richardson cylinder system. These players can can make a legitimate difference. Alejandro kirk behind the plate. You know dan jansen gets it together. These players that are going to be here for quite a while and if that's the case watch out because only two thousand fifteen and sixteen. I don't see this being a short term thing. I don't see this being just a thing. That's going to be a flash in the pan we're gonna have to go through a rebuilt again right. We have the ingredients right now. We have what it takes to be consistent contenders so i just kind of wanted to give you a quick hit. I if you wanted sort of to start your weekend with a sense of optimism. I hope i accomplished that. "There's always going to be a focus right. And if they're going to focus on travis kelsey and you have davis white. Going man up with hill siamese do. I'm taking the bills on. I'm just taking him. I have confidence in this team. So look i don't want this anymore. That's for the show and less craig. Has anybody asked any questions or anything that they want to get in at one that we haven't touched story i gotta figure out who said it but the question was. Do you see the blue jays going that high on any other players like they did with george springer contract basically you them blowing up the bank for george springer. Trevor bauer or anything like that. I don't see a six year. One hundred fifty million dollar deal. But i could definitely see a to at. I don't know what is bauer. Want twenty-five thirty million dollars. I could see a two year fifty million dollar deal for bauer. I could see that. I could there. There's somebody this morning. That said i think it was mark Or somebody said that if bauer comes back down to a one or two year deal bluejays very much player for that so absolutely so basically. I guess the question is do you really think. Pocket books are completely wide open at this point or another player like springer if they could or do you think that it's a still ethical. Bluejays situation has to make sense. I i don't see them opening up the purse strings for someone. Like real muto at unless like yeah if they trade one of the catching prospects verse or one of the starting janssen or i can't really conclude mcguire because i'd rather have kirk mcguire at this point. But if they fail. Yeah i would then i can see them. Maybe making a run for real muto and toronto might be desirable place. Now that springer's there but as things stand right now. I can't see them being as aggressive as they were in terms of the term in price as they were with springer but in practice i can see them being aggressive when it comes to filling out the holes. That are needed agree. I have a fun wrinkle to this whole idea. Because i just while you're talking in terms of not free agents do see the blue jays through trade taking on that kind of sal.

"I have a whole country now not just toronto of thirty plus million people across canada. Yates understand that it that does give me hope for rare if he does bounce back man up for the rest of the ride when yourself damn rink forty one saves in twenty ninety say would use third place in the in that i think that year that was his career high. That's insane. it wasn't that long ago that is literally one stupid weird kovin season away from any. He was not if he did not get injured. He was still the guy in san diego. We're probably talking. Leave san diego. Oh definitely i love it. I think that when you have a solid bullpen. And i know i'm again. I'm on record saying that. You know. Bullpen arms dime a dozen. I've said it here tonight. I've said it before on largely that's sort of true when it comes to signings you can your i'm talking in terms of an you don't wanna overpay for bullpen arms. Because usually you don't last the length of the contract usually fall off rather quickly on this being a ten million dollar deal. Maximum for one year it gives me a lot of comfort and chore. I hope he hits all the incentives. Whatever again it's just money But to have a i with you. I think he's going to be closer of the squad to have solid closer or reliable one is i mean. I don't think we really had that last year. We were hanging onto hope with deletes and stuff and even then i was sort of like white. Knuckling my chair. Sort of harry. Giles came back just like the rest of us. I mean there was an element of apple. You i. I think we all had the sense that there was something off about giles and his best days were behind him again. This is one of those. It wasn't even a long-term i mean. We traded for him but at the same time. It wasn't even long term. It was still something that you saw the decline happening so look i don't even want to look at twenty twenty when it comes to. Yates is a fool's errand to do it like. Yeah it's it's whatever. My focus is on those twenty nine hundred numbers and if he can just give us out. Three quarters of that isn't even have to be the full boat you can give. Course that boozer really good shape really shape with their bullpen and especially with the closer role because when you have someone that can come in in close out a game when it's close and you're just like it's a lock like that is a level of comfort that i don't even remember maybe you'll soon it was the last one or really like since then yes. Giles has been good. But i never got that. It's a lock kind of feeling if gates can provide that with the blue jays. This is gonna be dangerous and you have to imagine you know right now as the starting rotation has built there probably as it stands built for. Close games ray. How often have numbers are sort of surging. All around the league if we're going to go shopper. Shot when it comes for runs and we're in a tight game in to close it out with aids..

"Gonna say this because i'm going to be this deck for a second. I called it. I just picked the wrong week on kirby a week before spring training and it was going to be m or Archie brad both them funny enough signing the one where the got one going with the nats and one going with us strange. Okay with it. I actually when it comes to the two. I like kirby yates guy is just a gasser. Coming out of the bullpen. I honestly guys coming back from bone. Spurs have a pretty good success rate so i honestly do not see him having issues probably getting the majority of incentives erin his contract and he's going to run into it and he's gonna steal this closer's role i think because he's got that drive in kind of like the grinder mentality that you want on a team especially like what we've been doing. The last two years bluejays have done nothing but grind out every place in this ball club. As far as every out is concerned every a b every ground ball almost to the point where they're going too far with some.

"I don't want to bury the lead but you know with with him in another addition in addition the pitching staff. Then i feel confident. In saying look we are at the raise level or a little bit exceeding it I think where prob. If i'm being honest with myself right and i again i hate to be that guy. I just don't know that right. Now we'd we'd win a seven game series against the raz mostly because the starting pitching that we lack offensively it would probably be a high scoring game. I it'd probably be a home run derby but it just who scores the most at that point on maybe if is trotting out game one you feel confident in there but after that it's kind of toss up as it stands right now so i'm a little uncomfortable saying that we're at the raise level. I disagree with that. I'd say we're about at yankee level right now. In terms of hallen in matching on. And i would put the blue jays right now. I think i series could go seven against the i don't even get is at this point. They do play well. That's for sure they have had their last year's outside the rays last year we had the american league is that you know the orioles play so but is i have a good time for you and i'm just going to throw this out here. Who recalls the nineteen ninety-five cleveland indians. Running all the way to the world series nothing but manny ramirez in. Our ballot is weighing at team. Didn't have a ton of pitching and found ways to bludgeon people to tap as far as it goes i looking at this lineup. Anxiety was pulling it off without my head. I couldn't remember who the heck was actually all in that lineup. Forget to go with it but eerily similar in some of the fashion and kenny lofton leading off. Which is you know more or less. I'm going to compare him to what we get when bogus shot more or less. Right speeds speedy player hits vol solid. Gets everything going and kevin video right there. You got those two guys equal in that and then you had manny ramirez rbis scall- jim thome and albert bell really rounded that out. You can make the argument that this lineup looks very scary..

"Like marquette ama- cazar company like that that is that correct Guy that is navy a number two right now but has a ability of maybe a and some major league rotation at needs to be that. We're throwing that level of talent in control with Plus of mid tier two high fear prospect and. I'm not saying that. Because i got blue jays goggles on i i is. There is just something about watching the laura's all junior swings and watching how much funny as with his team we it with our buffalo bills. Adam this this team could have fun and they could just run right through. Everything will be the even more fun. Because there's something to be said about consistency and chemistry coming up through a system and playing with these guys and i and i agree with you so from what i'm going to send you from you. It's a has to be vote. Absolute right guy if not no. I'm in that boat. Yes all right brandon would say. I'm right there with you. Craig i. I don't see how you can do it for a guy even if it's two years i don't think that's long enough. I gotta get somebody who's here until twenty twenty three twenty twenty four just to give. Yeah the window and that lines up with review to get to twenty twenty four Is that's when you have him until so you have. That had a two hundred mosser. That's established at the big league level with pearson. Who's a up and coming And by then you'll have more arms. That are ready to replace some. That's the scary thing here that people are going to start realizing over the next little while is that yeah it three years go by pretty quick for the rest of hundred years contract but by then that's when we're going to be expecting simeon which richardson. Yeah that's when alex manila. He's still in. The organization will be here and cloth and steen. And then there's always a guy or two who comes up unexpectedly at his actually really really good in the rotation or just just solidifies. The back end in that could be zach. Lowe becca josh. Like i really have to answer this kind of music unless marquez or custodio order That might not even be mentioned That that secretly out there if anything western though. but yeah. If it's going to be laura's than i think you have to pull the trigger at this point because you can easily get by with grischuk diaz car springer in davis or force waller whoever it is or another signing what is taos number was a four million that he was able to get four five. You're paying him for you. Paying springer twenty-five lord is getting what is it too yes cheap. Yes laura's grow junior contract Th the reason. Why i ask is and you have great. Chuck's nine million or thereabouts. The reason i ask is you know we. We were at the point. Where we're saying you know whatever it's just money Which is true. I just don't know how i feel about. How the it. It's good to have death but are we comfortable having a nine million dollar underachieving. Outfielder playing off the bench and randall. Grischuk or primarily a d. Atrial having him feel that to me. I think you can fill that role better with someone off the mark or trade like if we traded for chris bryant and we said their base if is ready to play it and you wanted to make him the d. h. I don't hate it. I think you're wasting his talent. And he's another guy that can play the outfield and he might be better defensively at third base than vladi and maybe he can then be the d. h. Fifteen twenty home runs and playing decent defense and maybe right field. We are a better defensive team with griffin right field than we are with the oscar anne ads. I as much as i love. Hey oscar hernandez. I am completely fine with watching him kind of come in. And out of the d. h. Spot more or less to play wherever i my opinion. Unfortunately though on that is contingent on the fact that the blue jays make bother moves to solidify third base and it puts radicalized at first base. Because otherwise i one way or the other. I'm having rowdy and this lineup. If he doesn't get traded that would be because right now. Use the biggest power left handed bat that we have. And there's nothing that anybody can do this because there's nobody else say but if you had him playing right field like i said at least you've got another guy that is more or less a center fielder and yes. I know tejas. Her and has him sarah field. I get it but as far as all the you know progression. That oscar has made in the outfield. I still like him being as a platoon outfielder and then let him just completely destroy pitching out at the. Da spot. one way or the other. I want him healthy crushing. Like you did last season. And i think that does give him a sixty forty split somehow or at least a fifty fifty split laney outfield. I e h. That's my but if i could trade for another bat i can do starting pitching. They meant starting pitching. I really don't know who you move. And i don't see any. I think it will come down to them having to make a decision if they want to keep or as carell junior and this lineup to trade for that pitching and because i really don't see regardless of the progress that we actually did see from grachev. He did have a better season last year regardless it but he was a clipped. Obviously by watching oskar. Or anna's as pull a jose bautisa brush is really what it comes down and the question is can. He continued to progress and honestly right now in this lineup with aids. I don't really care. What do what he did last season. It's like a defense. I'm fine with it..
