"Starting next segment. I've got Michael Lombardi, who was an NFL writer for the athletic. A former NFL GM. Also this hour, Michigan State quarterback Rocky Lombardi, Michigan state with a huge win over Michigan. Meantime, I am taking your telephone calls. You have the number. If not, I'll give it to you one more time. 1 806 368686 can hit me up on Twitter. Jim Rome and somehow, some way we're having email issues. Again. I'm told it will be fixed by the end of the program. Gotten a TP coming up. We finish my thoughts on that state's Bears game. And whims. Throwing not one but two punches to a guy wearing a helmet. So what's going through his head? What's going through his head. Why would you punch a guy in the head wearing helmets like a dumbest thing? Ever? The only thing dumber than that is doing it a second time. What could have prompted that? Why would you ever run up on a dude? And punch him in the helmet twice. Well, one explanation might be that it goes back to the previous Siri's. You see, after a play, there was some sort of exchange between whims and C. J. G. J. And while they were talking, CJ gj ripped the mouthpiece off of whims, his face mask and through it to the ground. Now that probably is over the line. Probably over the line. Is it a reason ago? Debatable, but probably over the line. I gotta admit, it's pretty funny. For somebody not cracks me up him jerking that mouthpiece off his face mask and Troy to the ground actually made me laugh. For the record Tom Palace, Sarah reports. The whims told the Bears coach is that C J G. J spit on him as well during that exchange. I don't know that part did or did not happen. We've talked about this on the show for years. Spitting on somebody is disgusting. It's despicable. It's hideous, grotesque, and that is, in fact, a reason to go. But if you look at the video, it's not clear that whims reacts the way somebody would react if they were spit on right If somebody spits on you, you respond immediately. You don't wait If somebody spits in your face, you don't just file that away. That's a reason to go and almost everybody in the history of the world does And they do so right then and right there, they do it when it happens. But Wednesday in he waited He had to wait because his Evan Sacks points out on Twitter. He was subbed out on the next play. And just before the next play whims. His mouthpiece is on the field and one of the Bears offensive lineman throws it away, so the Bears end up pawning. The Saints get great fuel position after the return, and they end up kicking a field goal. Then the bearsoffense comes back out on the field and on the first play off their drive whims gets his revenge. Sort of not really. In fact, not even close. He gets his revenge in the sense that as soon as that play was dead, he did run up on C. J G. J from behind. I don't know. Maybe he even shouted out. Hey, yo, Remember me? But what he did try to dio. He tried to rip C J. J's mouthpiece out. In retaliation. It didn't work. But then he punched him in the helmet twice. Then he got tackled that he got ejected from the game, which is awesome is the best thing ever. Just so we're clear he didn't wander over to this guy. They didn't meet up again in a pile or the end of a play. My man sprinted over to him. I love the whims just sitting on the sideline planning his attack. You know this guy's there figuring out how to make sure that C J. G. J gets his And the best thing that he could come up with. Was punching the guy in the helmet with his bare hand and doing it again and getting wrecked in a fight and getting ejected and may be suspended and may be losing his job. One amazing sequence that Wass His former wide receiver Torrey Smith. Tweeted quote, some thoughts, number one. I have never seen anything like this. Number two..

"That the bank was a great platform to help me create the most value in the world. The other thing that I love is seven habits, highly effective people and in. That, I really started really seeking what is my mission statement? Why am I waking up in the morning like why would there's gotta be something bigger than just me making money and so I actually made a mission statement for myself which was really key for this time of my life and mission statement simply red help people see in resear- highest potential repeat that help people see and reach their highest potential yes. Okay. And the reason why that's so important to me is a lot of people don't even know what their God given potential is. And so the first thing is like how in the world supposed to help you if you came and see yourself Within the second aspect is, how can I show up how I encourage? How can I create something that will not I'm not the hero of the story, but I WANNA be by your side helping you only see that but helping you get there and so that was made without me knowing any of these financial strategies will before better wealth is even a thing. It was just like that was something that I that I made for my. Birthday. One of my team members actually made a plaque for me that still hangs on this wall today and is probably one of the most cherish gifts I have, and so that was foundation and then the guy that was running our banks investment department took another job and I was really the only other person at the bank at this time that was even in the department. So it started out as like a two month interim of. Make sure that nothing birds down by someone else and J G who is like a second father to me who is CEO of the bank he just took me under his wing and said Kayla people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care and even though I wasn't super knowledgeable. I I was very caring nineteen year old and so he knew that clients. Are In good hands and we didn't lose a single client, and in fact, I'm not GonNa say it was an amazing transition but it was a good enough transition where where I kept that role until leaving and so that was kind of the build up in what made that possible. So then what was it that started to shift inside of you to desire to create this company better wealth? So there is always something holding me back about being bold about talking to people and I realized that it was a fear of what other people thought of me. It was a fear failure because here I was really passionate about helping people with money but I was afraid of what if I don't make it? What if I feel financially and I actually really got deep? It's like what am.

Yep being that basically she and called went too deep into the dream lost track of reality game. When they came back up, she still lost track of reality and was convinced to the point where they just had to kill themselves to wake up again, which is a mechanic that's in the dreams here and man. It's a little bit awkward. Typically when you die in a dream you wake up. Yep. And so she was like if we kill ourselves here, we will wake up and go back to our children, which is what we want Dom come on and she would not listen to know we're already awake that's showing the importance of it totems because you lose track of reality. "That was the point of comparison he was trying to make, and so Darwin writes that in domesticated strains of animals we constantly see examples of adaptation quote, not indeed to the animals or plants own good. Good, but to man's use or fancy, some variations useful to him have probably arisen suddenly or by one step, so it has probably been with the turn spit dog so we know that in the middle of the eighteen hundreds when Darwin's writing about this would have been a common enough like a well-known enough phenomenon to have a turn spit dog working in a kitchen that he could just casual reference to it and people would know what he was talking about. Oh. Yes, that dog that is! is so well adapted to turning a wheel. Kitchens so, but the question kind of becomes. Is the turns bit dog like a are? These dogs bred for this work or you? Merely selecting dogs to fulfil the role of the turns fit right, and I think it's possible. Some combination of the two right that dogs with initial bits of characteristics were selected for the job early on, and then maybe they were bred to bring out certain characteristics that made them especially good wheel. Turner's right in this. This would be the same process that you would get. Say a good rat chasing dog, right? You can imagine like early on people. Saying I need some dogs to go get those rats. Give me some short legged dogs right, and then you know the the the breeding commences, and you get increasingly breeds of short legged dogs that have a real tenacity for chasing rats right? If you've got a batch of maybe the two that catch most rats, you breed them together, and that makes the next generation. At the time and author named J G would mentions the turns bit dog in his illustrated natural history in eighteen, fifty three, but he writes that by his time the dog had become rare, and while it had previously been very common, then existed only in isolated regions, but in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries turns..

"And then apple apples event days, seemingly take a lighter approach to I feel like a couple years ago, there was more emphasis on a and we still have Siri, of course, but there's a lot lighter of touch with a from from apple right now. Why, why do you think there's such a difference in do you think that maybe this hinders the potential of what we're seeing in Siri compared to some of the competitors? What do you think? Well, I think they're a little. They're certainly late to the game, Google, you would have held up as the corporate leader in. Artificial intelligence, maybe his as far back as almost as far back as Google goes, you know, certainly from the very early days that the company. And you know, much like maps, and maps in some way, is, you know, is under that umbrella, you know, because a lot of what we wanna do. I mean, some of the war with maps is just the hard work of putting cars out on the road, driving millions, and millions of miles and taking millions and millions of pictures, and documenting. Everything some of it is just just hard work, and there's catch up to be done on that front. But a lot of what we talk about maps now is very much about a I it is about talking to your assistant and saying, here's where I wanna go. I wanna get there by public transport transmit transit or I want to drive or I wanna walk or tell me what to do. Tell me if I should walk or take transit, and, and then tell me what to do to get there. That's why I don't think apple takes it any less lightly than than Google. Now. I just think they're slightly behind because they got started later. And I think hiring John and I'm going. Butcher. His last name j g John, John. Whatever his name is the former head of Google search who's now the head of AI and machine. Learning at at apple, that's a big signal. And I they talk about it less because they talk about the experience more. But a lot of the features they're talking about our AI apple spent a lot of time in the keynote last week talking about the update to photos and they had again, I don't have his name in front of me. But they had one of the engineers on the apple photos team, using his own personal photo library. And you could tell it like his kids looked exactly like him. It wasn't one of these, like fake photo libraries shot by a professional photographer, which is a lot of times, what apple does, you know, is they'll load up demo and the photo real is shot. They may actually be photos. They are actually photo shot with an iphone, but they're shocked by a professional photographer of professional models in beautiful beaches and mountains and stuff like that. And said this guy was showing his real family photos, and the way that the Iowa. Thirteen photos app, can now organize your photo by months and years, and, and collapse. And, you know, you can go to view to see all of your photos, but it looks like they want you to default to view where it's going to skip things like screen shots. And if you have seven straight shots of a young kid blowing out the candles on a birthday cake, they're going to using a, you just sort of pick the one that they think is best and put that in the view as you scroll. So I, I just think they don't talk about it being. I think there's a lot of features, they're using that, that are driven by that..

"And, you know, our parents at this point, it, we just couldn't meet the minimum order, and honestly that designer got frustrated, he quit on us. He was. Yeah, he quit, you quit on us. And I'll tell you this much that was very frustrating. It was extremely frustrating because we didn't have a footwear background. We didn't have a fashion background and it seemed like we weren't going to break through this wall of getting this product manufactured. So I graduated I moved to Nigeria. With j g and at this point, I was working on the business. Full-time J G was working fulltime with Viacom, so he was pursuing his career in media, entertainment, and technology as he planned. But he was helping me part time, and I found myself, you know, I have my moments where I did kind of want to give up, but I said, you know, what's happy, every day you're going to get out of the house, and you're just gonna talk to other entrepreneurs so there is this ice cream pot parlor in Lagos, that a lot of other entrepreneurs, went to almost like our local, Starbucks, though, you're there, all day with, like you order that one or two cups of tea or whatever it was, and you're sitting there on your laptop, they had free wifi as long as you bought something, and literally, it wasn't until two years in two to this business that there was another entrepreneur, who I become friends with from this. Coffee from this ice cream parlor. And I was just like venting to her. Like we really can't like we're not having any luck finding a manufacturer. And she said, hey, actually, no girl who makes handbags but I think she might know someone in footwear, and that is what finally led us to the manufacturer that we've used for the past three years. So let's talk about this move that you just glossed over taffy now where did Aren't you? you? Where'd you grow? So I grew up in New York and I grew up in New Jersey. So I did half of my life in each state. So, yeah, I've never lived outside of the country. I've never lived outside of the east coast. So what was the process of deciding, we're going to bet on this business and start it, and we're going to move to Lagos, and you're gonna continue working on it work fulltime? I like to usually we'll have a small party over here. I I haven't done the last couple of years, but when we do, and I do this anyways. But it's easier because there's a fireplace here. You know, what I'm just going to get to the point. We write down our intentions for the next year. So a little bit less of a New Year's resolution something a little bit deeper. And then and we all talk about them. And then we write down things we want to like a sort of cleanse ourselves of from the past year. And then we set those on fire and watch them burn. I highly recommend it. And then you can makes Moore's but just make sure there's a fire extinguisher nearby. If you're building a fire not doing an fireplace. Okay. Well, that'll do it have a safe and happy new year. I think I already said that at the end of the podcast, but it's worth repeating seven times. Be safe. Be safe. Be safe. Be safe. Be safe. Two three four be safe. Be safe. Okay. Bye.

"Slash mini gun exchange outlets with branches in coochie, tan, tan, an and Ben lock with others soon to be opening in long been being long and via n. We tenant J G weird herald black is still looking for his mysteriously, vanishing and sixty bolts latest debt for basketball. Casualty was Lieutenant j g buckets coffee named after his golden touch on the court who got four stitches in his head after going for a rebound who will it be an April three additions arrived this past month, Lieutenant Tom Ribaud, LA and Lieutenant j g Denny rally, which is you sir are new in country and Lieutenant j g Bill belts was shafted shifted from debt eight oh, well with TV booze and all the attractions of the big city. What more could you want? As one of our departed pilots used to say going home is for sissies. So these are all by their their fantastic read. I I read that too. My buddy, Dave Burke, or I sent I sent him a copy of it. And he said, that's the best rep I've ever read in my life. So you guys had you know, it's it it's good because you know, I always talk, and and every vet that comes on her kinda talk about how we have fun, and that shows that and I guess getting mooned through your side window also shows that you guys were having fun. I don't know if the hot brass is fun. But you guys were having a great time, and you guys were making it fun. And at the same time man, it was very intense and very dangerous one of the things that you know, you you kind of threw it out there. You said, hey, we we put these debts all over the place. So we could have a quick response time. And what that meant was you guys were spread out in these debts. So that you could get two guys on the ground within a matter of minutes. Tell me about that op tempo. And what it was like when when they scrambled the wolf's. Well, we had two full crews for each one of our two birds. And what that meant was you were twelve hours on twelve hours off three sixty five twenty four whatever in order to support the the Brown. Water navy when they got in the ship. They they needed us right away. And we could literally get off the deck in about three minutes, and that put us out there quickly enough that we could probably get them out of trouble. The the worst thing that could could happen to them in my estimation. Other than losing someone is is losing their engine because then they were just up there with the they were a grape. No, no place to go. So all they could do is just absorb the the incoming. And with that in mind, what we would do is go on out and and try and I get get their heads down. And then to start working the target. We had a very close relationship with the the PB or sailors very close those guys were sticking their necks out every day. And the times they got in trouble. We were happy to go. And and try and extricate them on no matter, no matter what. But one of the great quotes that I saw in the in the history that I was reviewing is the first contact that h c one made the they the two boats had gone out on patrol and had stumbled across a battalion size element with about eighty sampans and junks that we're trying to cross a river and the boats came under obviously intense fire when the sea. Seawalls got there. A couple of minutes. After this the the incoming fire team lead contacts the chief of the boat and says where do you want us to put in our strike?.

"And it's just finding the right people the right words, the things that resonate with you, that help you to connect to that and so that you can feel both because. What anyone that I have read or listen to that that talks about that is that it doesn't joy doesn't mean. Like nothing bothers me. It's it's that you can experience pain and still be okay and know that that you're, you're pure version of yourself is not affected by that that so much of that is is in our mind in our brains and that that's just a function of being a physical body of Lander. But that part of us, that's our soul is connected to an energy that actually is all about peace and joy. I can't even live up saying this. I'm actually kind of scared to say this because I feel like for a lot of people, it might be like, but I just want to start talking about it because it's honestly, the thing this type of thinking is honestly, the thing that has changed the most now taking care of myself and seeing doctors and getting medication and doing everything I do that. I. About all the time now like, fuck and broken record, certainly sets me up to be strong and to dig in deeper to some some of these bore, like philosophical of, you know, spiritual type things, but the reading about this stuff and and understanding about energy in really like who we truly are. So like my personal pass to enlightenment is is what has had the most profound effect on me. So I'm not going to not talk about it and I'm and I really want to actively find ways to talk about it that are relatable and easy to understand. So any suggestions you have? I'm totally open to it. And honestly, if there were ever a time that I could use encouragement to say, hey, we get it. We want to hear more or I don't understand, but I like you and I feel like you say lots of other things that resonate with. With me. So this is why this doesn't make sense to me. Please j. g. o. k. at bandeau dot com. Or on Instagram or whatever stopped me in the street. If you see me, make sure give Huck too. That would really help because I think it's important. And honestly, the more talked about it just with with my friends and people. I know it's, there's a consciousness that's happening where people are starting to to identify that that there is truth in that, and that's how that's how we're all going to change as individuals and as a society and now as a super challenging time and and for so many, especially if you're the type of person that likes to watch the news no matter what side of any issue you're on. It's a really hard time and and so what better time than now to find that power and strength within yourself so that you can feel connected to it and feel more quipped to possess joy in an amongst sadness. Challenges and all that other crap. Now what I want to say about that. There million ways that you can work on it. Maybe I'll do a follow up episode. Maybe I'll sneak it into every episode from here on out..
