Monthly Rents Skyrocket Amid Record Inflation
"Hey everybody, Tyler Charlie Kirk show. What are the new results out of Ohio mean for the midterms? Our Democrats favored to win anything at all, and also a new announcement from turning point, pack, TP pack dot com that is TP PAC dot com, or you guys can contribute some grassroots donations to help America first candidates across the country that's TP PAC dot com. We talk with Tyler Boyer about that and the need to reclaim the America first mantle from the ground up. Email me your thoughts is always freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com, get involved with turning point USA at TP USA dot com or email me your thoughts is always freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com. Buckle up everybody here. We go. Charlie, what you've done is incredible here. Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus. I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk's running The White House folks. I want to thank Charlie. He's an incredible guy, his spirit, his love of this country. He's done an amazing job. Building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created turning point USA. We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. That's why we are here. Brought to you by the loan experts I trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific mortgage at Andrew and Todd dot com. I want to lead with this one thing. I have a friend of mine who's a wonderful American from Dallas, whose in real estate, probably one of the top private owners of apartment buildings in the country. And he just said, hey, Charlie, I want you to see these rent inflation crazy numbers. I'm not going to say his name just to, you know, for obvious reasons. But so this is the last 30 movements, okay? So Phoenix, for example, for the last 30, the average prior rent used to be 1325 a month for his and he owns apartment buildings all over Phoenix. Now it's 1693 a month. That means that rent has gone up 27.8% on average in Phoenix. It is last 30 movements. Austin, 23%, San Antonio 21%. Dallas Fort Worth, 18%. North Carolina, 16% Houston 15%. The real inflation rate, I said this the other day, and someone laughed at me, but when they laugh at us, that's how you know we're probably right. I said the real inflation rate is 35%. I said it's right near there. For working people, that's about where it is. If you count gas, you count food, you can't travel. You count all that other stuff. So Andrew and I were talking in the break, he says, I don't know, I don't know, have we peaked too early, Andrew said of Republicans, are we going to be able to sustain this the November? I said, look at these rent numbers. You're trying to tell me people are going to keep the people in charge over this. I don't know, but someone who does know is Richard barris, from the people's pundit, and he's wearing a tie just to make me look bad. Big data polls, Richard barris, Richard. Welcome back to the program. Hey, thanks for having me back. I appreciate it. So a lot to unpack here. Let's start with kind of what happened in Ohio. What does that message send? What is your polling show? How big of a deal is what just happened in Ohio? You know, it's a big deal, Charlie, for the future of the party. The direction of the party, you know, the Trump endorsed candidates outside of JD Vance even did great. There was the first congressional district in Indiana. She won, so, you know, I mean, oh, and by the way, Ohio 9. So that was a race the media definitely was watching and trying to take out, you know, take down the Trump endorsed candidate. He did pull it off and he did incredible in an outside of Toledo, which is where a lot of people thought that Gaborone would do better. You know, so in the end, if you look at where van specifically got his support from, the reason I think a lot of these polls messed up outside of Vance's 100% correct. Outside of Remington, which was pulling for another campaign, they were just wrong. Some of the other public polls didn't really catch Vance's full support because when a pollster does a likely voter model, I suspected this was happening and it did. Those new Trump accounts, they're not really Republicans, Ohio has a lot of them. And they'll tell you, I'm going to vote. I'm likely to vote or I'm certain to vote. But then the pollster will go back and look at vote history and in a primary. If they're not a two out of four voter, meaning they voted in at least two and the last four primaries, they'll get screened out. And because these voters are newly Republican and close primary, they didn't have much vote history and you could see it all over. Mahoning, Youngstown, trumbull, the election day and wood in the northwest, just south of Toledo. That was Trump vote. That is Trump vote. And then Vance did excellent, obviously. In Cleveland, Hamilton county and the suburbs around it. So at the end of the day, it sent a very clear message. The president saw a very strong grip on the Republican Party without a doubt.

"That and i love it because i first of all because i want to go there and make up literally jeanine at the care how you look ovoid i love it i i never need to make up again and then and then i love it not just for the reason that you said the problem solving which i find delicious like i'm always like we don't have time like our gonna get it done for toyota time i can't wait like i love it but also the thing that i like about it is that when you're an actor i mean i do enjoy acting you really are only responsible for caring for yourself kind of what you're gonna do your decisions. Your interactions your inner space. Maybe the other person of the scene. But when you're director you get to take care of everybody you get to encourage everybody and you get to like coach everyone and you get to hopefully empower them all to do great work and you know few. Let's do it. And i. That's i mean that's my default state is pupil pew. I am do remember the cartoons. Your your old like me. December remember the cartoon spike and that was the big bulldog and he had a little puppy friend and the puppy. What are you been. Hey totally take on like so stoked to be there. Yeah i'm like rockingham people like have you had breakfast burrito. Do get a and breakfast rio like flying. They're making them. When i love it. you know like not to put not to sound too pollyannish. But it's remarkable when a dream comes true. Because i i wanted to be a director and i worked very hard to get people to take mysterious right added. It's nice that it's finally starting to pick up some momentum so that that does that squeeze out like the other party your life you know like a social life does it squeeze it out and use it as and are you just okay with that for now. Do you think you'll be okay with that forever. You know. I'm okay with it for now because i feel like it's not permanent you know. Tv specifically is pretty all consuming if you go back to back but actually like. I'm literally about to do this film. And i'm like i. I feel like. I have to call my friends. You're not gonna see me again too late next year. Yeah you know what i mean like. I know it sucks that. I'm going away and bailing on you but like if i come see you. I'm not gonna turn in my homework for my movie. Which like there is nobody. I can turn to be like. It's that guys fall like it's all my fault all on you. It's all on me. So so yes. I do see that and like for example i left. La last november and didn't really.

"It was the talk like that. Did you feel that was a willing exit. Yes it was. It was a willing exit. I've been considering it for a while. I had directed a movie. And i wanted to go out and try to direct another movie. I wanted to be if not a full-time director like primarily director. And i knew that it was gonna be very hard for me to say to somebody. Hey me millions of dollars to direct a movie. I have a day job that works for four days a week weeks a year. That was i couldn't. I'm not gonna be able sell anything that anybody or there without right lady so i knew it was one of the other and so while it was kind of like a tearful exit. It was definitely an exit. That i wanted for myself and but i do remember being like other stability the income. The you know the the urgency the relevancy of being on tv every day like is that a loss. And but i also remember just feeling kind of anything is possible. I wasn't limited by being on this one show and then this one being seen this one way anymore and then it's taken a while you know what i mean like. I'm getting ready to my second feature now. I mean. I feel like i left to talk like four or five years ago. I'm not quite sure about. It was a while ago but but also what year was it twenty. Eighteen twenty seven thousand. Seventeen this one. Okay i guess. But what i also will say is that i started acting tv. And i'd like director been directing almost full doing that and that was really what i wanted so like. I always think about that parable about the dog like to drop a bone to get another bone. And like you're terrified to drop the first but there's no way to get the second boat with the first year yeah And i remember feeling like what's going to happen. And then i just consciously kept saying to my house just say at a different weights but what's going to happen feeling. I hadn't had for such a long time..

"What's my as he's laughing as he doesn't know what it was. It was kind of both but it was more the second. I loved cocktails. I love cocktail culture. I love bars. I love bartender is i feel like even more than shafts and i love great food but like bartenders are really purveyors of joy right like their job is to see you kind of see what you need. Talk to you just enough to keep you entertained but not bother you loan if your mopey chatted up with you if you're into sports like they're just they're kind of like happiness agents and i love spending time in bars. I loved drinking great drinks and it was just kind of extension of that loving that world. But i also remember having a conversation with a friend of mine who like old friend of mine and being like you know the difference between over. I'm sure drinks you and me and like sucker bergen allies. Musk and a guy who invented post. It's we love is great ideas. We'll do anything about it. That's why those guys are billionaires that we're sitting here trigger happy hour spent a four dollars on a cocktail so ideas like it's the execution right if the if you have a great idea that it's the part where you actually execute and i. That was a while ago. It wasn't when i had this idea. But then when i had this idea is like i feel like the supreme good idea. Yeah i feel like. I should see if i can do it. It's it's substantial. it's good looking packaging. Thank you just not seen like you know like cheap shit now. Really i worked. I worked very hard to make. Sure it's a small bets distillery. That makes all of our spirits. Like i said there is no it. Artificial coloring there is no artificial flavoring. Everything is natural. I really wanted to make something that i would be happy with. Put my name on. So it definitely wasn't like i thought it would be like a get rich quick kind of thing..

"I made was basically coming fucked me now. How i couldn't make a joke about you. Know whatever the rocks new movie without be. You're obviously hitting on that twenty eight year old like okay. I guess all right. I just want to see the movie guys. I just wanted to make the jokes that i've always made you. Yeah well all right. I want i want to ask you one other question. I would just the other thing that people do like. They'll take potshots at you but they also we'll take potshots at your spouse and like fuck off. Yeah and that made me even angrier. Because like i chose this job i can take it. I mean i've i've taken it before. But like you say stuff about him like he like he was after my money. We met when we were in college right. I had no money. It was just it was it was infuriating was really enraging to me and then you know you can't really give it any shine because if you do that you know you're just really feeding that beast. You kind of feel a little powerless to you. Know to to do to protect someone that regardless of whether you're married anymore you still really care about So yeah it's that's getting divorced. Well i wouldn't say famous about infamous. Well no i mean you're known and it's the same thing and it's like if you are known so like i don't know like i don't know why anyone cares about my life at all. I mean i'm not tom cruise. I'm not you know. I'm not anybody interesting. I i really do have have but no. I don't think i'm boring but i mean but in in sort of like lurid terms you know is. I don't do anything interesting like i. Don't you know what i mean. I i just don't and so it was always a shock to me that any one cared But i do feel like now. I now setting like i do i on ask you this about you. Know when you met the person that you were with for twenty however 'cause we were together for twenty seven married for twenty five Nobody knew who i was and now people know who i am so like dating has a different thing and especially yeah especially with the like the app kind of notion. I would be loath anyway. Now that i'm a known quantity. I just don't it's part of it. I think just like well. How are they ever gonna like no. It's me like.

I made it like a livable sort of thing But then i found myself to like. Because i was so i didn't know what to do with myself. My i can do anything. I would tell myself. I can do whatever i want but it was usually like like 'cause you know because heavy anything and it took a while to get till like no no fuck that i can do whatever i want. And if there's you know and i'm it isn't to say either to add. I could go out and go out and hook up and stuff because i'm i don't even know how to do that really but It's not particularly rewarding. I think i think it's a false construct. The mini you're like this is sad nikki. Glaser recommended me. Because you have to get recommended to be unraveling via. Yeah yeah so. She recommended me. And i was like. Oh you know. I a little celebrity. Fuck room right. it was. I looked at it. I like i and it was weird because like in order to get in there and look at it you have to be like like provide five pictures of you all already feels like at sinai headshots. What the fuck you want. Just set of expert. Google link can see this big floppy head as much as you want on on the internet like pick a song to go along with the like little montage and and then i started looking at it and i just. I just felt vertigo. Like oh my god. Like look like every la phony that i've ever seen And you know. And and just an a couple of people that i recognize. But i know yeah i mean men and women because then i want to see what man what what the men's profiles and stuff look like And i'm looking at that and it just seemed like the grossest la party. I've ever been to that makes me go impair. Let's just drive through astro burger and go home. You know literally say. Let's just leave and go to ask so. Let's just get out of here. And but i i and the turning point for me was One of the women who is in and i did. I did appropriate ages. I didn't like go like from china. Trump's eleven on. You know like there was a grown-up woman on there. But she heard she listed her job as denham architect now now now now. This is not. This is not the place for work at the gap. That's not a yeah what you you you you know like you taylor blue jeans. She piles them up infection. According to denham arket. Are you living in a denim house. That's dangerous very flammable. "Back on those times and you're like yeah but it's also this person that i don't like anymore you know that i'm mad at or who did this or who said this and so you just you really are it feels like barren earth like just you just clear the decks you god that is oh while i was thinking about that about the way that you felt a specific way about this person they were your person so all of these memories and experiences all like imb you your relationship with a certain set values and then you also look back and you feel differently and you almost can't remember who you were when you felt that way about that person that person the andy of fifteen years ago or chef fifteen years ago seems like another human being and that i think really really a very strange feeling because i think when you're twenty five you think i'm always gonna know what i want who i am i always gonna be exactly this percent and i always say this younger people and then they always go shut up lady cross the street but but there is just no way for you know there's no way for you to know who you're going to be in twenty years i promise you you are not going to wake up at forty five and feel want need understand the same things about yourself this just an impossibility And all you can do really is just try to grow with his partner and if you can't grow with them find a kind way to go on your own path. But i wonder now this. Ooh it's turning into asia's three questions isn't it. Oh well that's fine. I wonder if i'm getting paid though. You aren't getting absolutely nothing for this. Other than all the policies that's raining out of the sky for you. Andy and i imagine now. Divorced man as lucy arnaz at the chocolate factory. "Yes you. Qa left corruption destruction is not in anybody's interest. You're you're breaking something up but you're you know if you're trying to avoid collateral damage right the and we do this in a way. That again doesn't scorch doesn't solve the earth behind us. Yeah because you know the other thing that the other thing that happens a typically in. He's in again. I can't speak. How is with kids but you know friendships come up a lot of you lose lot. You lose all these share touch points that you don't wanna lose and you don't want the other person to lose but it just naturally happens. Loss is the is compounded. Yeah because you lose everything you know and so then to go and break the last few glasses in the cupboard each like overkill but it's also so normal to be so angry that you're not thinking clearly right and a lot of that happens when you're just blind rage and then you wake up the next day and you're like wait a minute. Who was who was that guy. Yeah yeah it's just so hard you go to therapy Yeah we yeah. We were in therapy. We had been to couples therapy with success throughout the throughout the marriage at different points. We'd we'd hit kind of a rough don communicative patch. And then we'd go to therapy and it would work and we would sort of get to a good place again. And i mean you know and i got twenty five years. It's the large bulk of it was really good and like i say we're humans were complicated humans and we're both kind of cranky crazy and weird you know but but yeah that's why we're together as one of the things right That's what makes you interesting. Yeah by the way but we will towards the yet. Yeah we went. We did a final stretch of of therapy. That really sort of was you know it was kinda like okay. This is not like right and just. This isn't just like a problem with that. They are this particular episode of therapy. Isn't working like this is really kind of laying bare that. This is not gonna work. This is so is this just saying yeah and for people who are listening who are in a relationship and thinking about couples therapy. You should absolutely do it because you should learn stuff about yourselves. But what's so funny. Is i remember a girlfriend who is a therapist. Saying a lot of people resist couples therapy because they wanna get they wanna break up and they're worried that if they go to therapy it's gonna either convince them or show them or make them stay together right. Yeah but but what i have found. Interestingly enough is that a lotta times there can show you that. You actually should separate and hopefully then. You're just trying to find a way to do it again in a kind way. That doesn't do a lot of damage and that's so strange. Because couple's therapy really is intended to keep else again. Sometimes it just shows you. I mean not like oh not that. There's anything wrong with you or that's wrong with the relationship but it's such show you like you don't want the same things anymore via and you know it's tough because i'm sure a lot of traditionalists out there would say well. You should try to work past that. But you know there's also only you also only have one life. And i don't know that you should be supplementing your own desires for seventy years on the planet to some one else. No i looked. I looked at it as you know i had. It's sorta like what you said. I.

"Did did you find yourself thinking back i. I'll win will move off of a divorce. Don't my talking about. I don't really talk about it that much. This is this is kind of riffing okay. Good yeah Did you find yourself thinking back on your on your parents divorce and seeing any like any kind of parallels and he kind of like you know thinking about what they went through when it happened and i think two things. I think the fact that i didn't have children in some ways might made it easier right. Because i i wasn't so worried about how is gonna affect other other people right. I was mainly just how it's gonna affect me and my partner. Yeah but i think the thing that i. I hope that i internalized from my parents was that i just really wanted to be kind. Like never wanted to fight about it. I didn't want to be cruel. I worked really hard to be as kind as i could. You know people get so angry when they're going through something like this and a lot of the anger in specific are serious with you and furious at themselves in sophea people say and do things that they don't mean and i just really tried to just not just tried to be like this someone that you're with for half of your life no matter what happens after this person is going to be after your parents. Probably the most influential person on you To to date. And i don't i did not see the fact that i was married for twenty four years and then i got into this as a mistake or a failure like i did it. Man twenty five years is a long time to do anything and and it was wonderful and then things changed and so for me. Just the thing. I took from them was. I just wanted to be as high as i possibly could. You my to my ex to myself and to realize that like people were going to say anything they didn't mean and to not you know what happens is someone says or does something and then and then at the nets revenge time all of a sudden.

"But many women could live together in this ashram. Even if you're married so. I was kind of like dormitory living so i lived with some other adult women like just kind of like nice ladies and my parents were around and and it was really fun because it was kind of a compound so like you got a lot of autonomy as a kid in there because it was super safe. See you could run around everywhere and play and you could hide. They're all these local places to hide and staying like spy on people and yell at them and scare them and i mean it was and then you had some kind of i went to school and i did my homework and i had some responsibilities did some chores but it was rad. Like one of the things that was really common that people would bring offerings into the ashram like flowers and they would bring a lotta candy and so handy situation. This joint was just premium a one abundance and they wouldn't just bring like chocolate bars. They'd bring like you know like boxes. A see's candy like shooting and i just meant as an offering to ban people like exactly to the gods or you know people knew that it would end up pink end up in the community so it was kind of a way to make an offering and they they would get eaten and yeah i just i was just like chopping down like cordial cherries on a on a regular basis a cordial all the grandma candy all because the court their ribbon candies they may have been there for ten years. Ever no one. What is the flavor of ribbon candy. Sugar yeah i just didn't. I had a great at a spinster aunt classics and she always had like just the. I don't know where she got him. The weirdest tens of strange like ukrainian hard candies love it. Oh so it was just inexplicable. "Yeah yeah i. I'm well aware of like how much red meat hurts. The planet and i don't have a lot of stuff about like the actual eating of animals because i feel like look at nature animal eating everything you know i always. I have some friends that i adore by the way. If you're listening. You're so nice. But i there like it's cruel and i do think factory farming as cruel appears not good for people either because it's very dirty but eating animal is no less cruel than like a cheetah just snapping up a gazelle idiot from the ass end forward while the gazelle is still aware watching itself devoured. Yeah goes my going terribly all my liver so yeah so i don't. I think i think eating less means just kind of like a good idea. I agree. I actually have a moral thing about eating animals if i was like one of those people. I'd like hunt. Like i have a buddy who was vegan for a while. But he's like out catch my own beads and we're like oh shit. Let's see how long that lasts. Yeah yeah he didn't last long it didn't last one. Yeah i like. I last that long i loved. I loved to fish. But i only like to fish if i can eat them because then like me harassing this fish has a purpose whereas if you just catch a fish and then pull it into the boat and take the hook on. Throw it back. I just feel like this men now. He's got like a gaping injury and it's never going to heal right. It's like so many throwing into the back of a van and driving you halfway across town and then dumping you off you know what was the purpose of. Yeah go your. Yeah yeah. New york and like they can't grow a garden because there's so many ear and i feel like well hell. Yeah if i had you know venison showing up in my backyard. I might take a pop at it just you know. Turn it into protein. I feel the same way about me. Like i'd be happy turned into protein for somebody nice legacy on now. Now you're no longer and your ally be happy to dog food fine. I honestly don't care. Actually that's interesting. Because i i'm kind of in the same boat like once i'm out of this vessel. I'm not really that invested. In next. Things happened to a lot of people. But that i was able to make some good out of that time like i had a lot of friends who were living in isolation. They didn't have partners. We really worked hard to kind of make like social space for them so they didn't feel so isolated and as a result. I got all this extra time with people that care about that. I normally don't see very often. My mom lives close to me and she lives alone so we we try to figure out a way to socialize with her safely. And i know people were zooming a lot but we went onto the roof of her apartment building with like camping chairs and sat like eight feet away. From each other rosen. "That in nature of doing this. Podcast i have a variety of people that i'll have on it. Some people who are emerging to some people who are season artists biologists. Have someone like your clout like. I don't like your words. I would have. I don't like their work. You know that this new thing. The term cloud this new thing. That's important to folks these days them funding. This cloud is of weird. A blows my mind. I care about a bunch of fucking strangers opinions remain. Why do i give it. When i hear the word cloud on hearing it in social media terms of giddings gotta get a shit about what you know the strangers people have never met her probably never will meet think of me if i want any kind of quote unquote cloud which an appropriate current of us. I think i would want the approval. That's more reasonable term. In my opinion they would want approval of those. Who do what i do. And more so those who've been doing it longer than me and whom i respect and look up to their work i don't want anyone. Tell me up cool and powder my little ass for someone to give me that that not of respect that that's so much more valuable than this clout that people are after these days. Fuck out of here with the opinions. A bunch of strangers you know. I want my peers. You know if they think. I'm okay i'm doing all right you know. That's that's the thing that matters acknowledgement from your peers. People do this thing where they say. I don't care about awards. And so on and i had an interview with Dd am not long ago. "What they were saying but there for the whole movement was being yourself for not trying to follow in these boxes. They tried to put us especially being black on. Because i know meet coming up here like different like i was. I was into rock music. I skateboarded which at the time. That just wasn't what most blacks weren't doing we're doing in the city now that time So yeah i. They influenced me a lot because they allow me. You know what. I'm not gonna be like you because i remember us went two hundred dollars off some jays and i i oh my i forget it to this day and it was cool for the first day at the day no one cared and i realized i made a big mistake trying to fit in so i'm ruined financially pretty pretty much all my birthday money on net. It's that's one of those challenges. Like i think that when we started looking at identity in our preface it. I'm not the most qualified person to speak going to. However i will say oftentimes people don't think from baltimore because i don't have a certain aesthetic or a certain sound or whatever and it's like i've always lived here from east baltimore or us different things or you don't fit into certain buckets and i rather not have the the emptied a bucket and break it. That's kind of where you know. Yeah i'm with you on that and people don't see it so this is where it's going to start getting into weirder questions. Okay and then some of the baltimore questions. So are you a shower singer and if you are what's what's the song. Look i'm performing. I'm giving us the right now. Whatever whatever the genre might be your shower saying which got under percent. I am now a mainly a shower thinker because being in the shower is like the only place where i'm night Influenced by anything that might go on. My phone might go. I get notifications. Let the only place where he's like. I had no. Technology is just me and my thoughts way if i had to choose a psalm definitely in the shower singing stevie wonder marvin gaye la to old school soul stuff. I'm real incident. I mean i think though you said me mobile yes is like everything is a running bit for me. If i can really go off i like to do own age town or jodi. Do i like to do all of that. That's not why. I thought she was gonna say license. Drinking jars theme song lable play lady in my head out saying like knocking boots by each town. Yeah it's very ninety-three yet is it is. Yeah so creatively. Would he feel the baltimore excels in what is area that you feel that baltimore needs to put some work towards so i think now and twenty twenty one. We are very excelling in being a community as a whole no matter like. Would john where you are of drummer art. You are no matter what part you are because you know before it was like a whole. I'm from western from i rock. Which type of thing and now. He's like wesley self on everyone. No matter what you come from were now come together as a unit and really doing things together. And i think because of that. I think we're finally going to be put on the map as art city. As a. You know we we're finally going to destroy all reputations. We have. I think come together. We'll we are excelling. There's so many things now that we as black artists are doing to really help our our own community and things What was the second question. What do you think we don't do well at ultimately. What do you want to see. More of certainly. Don't do well. why not before. Resources usually comes up as there's not enough resources out there for artists and things like that. That's usually a thing that comes on a percent hundred percent. Because i know there's definitely be more opportunities for us to perform it showcase Because i know. I do love music festival thing. And all of that is funded out my pocket and my pocket Screaming right now say you need to stop so you more. We definitely way more investors to really invest in our and. I think it's going to happen like this year. Like people are really starting to realize that. But yeah the compensation definitely has been started on the. Yes i think. I think that's i think that's less legitimacy. I didn't want to put words your mouth. Biologists thinking like that's a a common theme where you know is just either exposure is support either substantive like financially or in a true way of people that can really get you over. Who's like an influence or something like that. Hey put me over. Put me on the show. People what i do and sometimes duality right where you get that support within the community of other artists but then the people who are the consumers at times or the the people who could make a real change in getting your work out there to a broader audience. They may miss it. They may not be as interested as other people who are in your kind of similar spot you. I mean that are creating our stuff out. There are so. That's the thing that i think. People just need to really open their eyes and the equitable in how they distribute whether those resources or that's yeah i think another thing also kind of follow. What what you said is knowledge. Allow a lot of us are lacking basic knowledge of how to be a freelance artists. And this is actually something. I'm working with the state that we're going to be doing within on june. 'cause you know a lot of us don't really know how to write a basic email network. How to negotiate the price you work like so we're we are lacking a lot of knowledge.

"So obviously i gave like a ten thousand view of what you do. And i think it's better that the artist kind of Present their work is about and what they're doing. So if you would describe what your work is and you got started earlier. Read about that. A little bit but Let's talk about that a bit. What you work and describe what john tyler is all about yes Some would say. John's highly on my work is very retro. Is very rock is very jazz is very me I like to bring in. I grew up and love. Grew up in these different scenes like ripping the roxana hip hop scene. Jazz scene alternates scenes. And i kinda just kind of like a chameleon of music and everything into one thing that makes sense so yeah i would just say my music is everything not i dig it. I think Especially when you you you grab one because i be remiss. You're you're in your early twenties and you had you had a project. I'll like when you were sixteen right. Yeah my first project is called shoe. Art came out when i was sixteen. Probably terrible now is very very all be there. I'm sure started podcasting. And i was like twenty four and i've been doing it for twelve years so that's do the math there and i look back. I'm like oh no. These will not see the light of day. But i think once you get to what your sound is in which are flow is as or which are approaches. Would yours your version of it. Then you're like you know what maybe some of that was where i'm at. But some of them definitely was not. I definitely get where you're coming from of. I've i've grown ultimately. I think that's what you're yeah. I'm thankful for because you know without that early stuff. I wouldn't be now musically and creatively so i needed to you know that that start with that project. What is still terrible. I i'd never you never catch me performing nothing from those projects. Oh no besides visas. Come on man. I mean people are gonna come ou- for what will happen is i'll troll like look man. I remember i remember to strike man. I say in doing that parallel. Because look what my creative expression is. And i try to empathize with autism level. And you know. I always kind of dabble with to certain Creative things whether be painting whether it be writing Still dabbling with acting a little bit And to understand all goofy things right. But i i'm podcast or i and i chose that as my main artistic expression would drew you to music versus other autistic expressions wall. I actually started off as a screenwriter screenplay writer So the first project to that. We talked about originally was a play that i wrote and album really was just a musical for the play if that makes sense. Yeah so i've really been into writing and directing but in terms of music beam number one now It was always wanted music. When i was very vulnerable on when i was very happy no matter all my different emotions always caught myself making music or listening to music and yeah that's just kinda how became a number one. It all started really from guitar hero. Three yeah i remember when it came out of fourth grade maybe both happy and sack the whole neighborhoods to play the worst one at and i used to just my mom. Xbox i was playing at every day for years. Now i could play any song talker on. That's how much practice at that game and it kind of just play like real good. Sorry and guitar. Music is really. Just how. I express myself so i am. I always think of this Hannibal berra's joke when someone mentions guitar. It was just like he's gas playing. I was playing guitar hero with this kid. And he's like we're challenging each other and the kid is going behind his back between his legs plan to guitars guitar. Hannibal is such a funny guy. If i didn't do music. I wanna do comedy. I watch it a lot. That's that's part of my process. I i get a fair amount of hannibal. Comparisons which is the thing. And i might just because we're back the us it's i could see so you touched right there a second ago on on that process. So what else is is Inclusive of your your process as a writer or practice things like that. What else is inclusive of your process. Getting out the house really focus. I from what a pandemic happening from march all the way up to light november. I was not making any music. I was not leaving the house. And i got a bike. I was biking every day. I might enjoying. I love going into mornings. And the sunset comes up and birds and stuff and it really inspired. A lot of progressions. A lot of lear guide is a like a minute project. I'm working on a song called. Ab bird and it was just by seen like birds trees in the morning. So yeah really getting out to house talking to people talking like my little cousin who has a completely different perspective of life. Help inspire song talking to my grandma who live like here since away to give our as she would have been made me. She'd been here when baltimore was known as a music city. Like when when it first happened. And she came to live live with me on and she wanted to go down. Pennsylvania avenue. I was like and just like yeah. That's what we all used to be. The last time. I was here not took it and she just likes. That's it tell you how old she is yet does talking about her. She has so much wisdom people all these learning different perspectives. Help aspire a songwriting in my sound and a lot of collaboration because again with dead like Talking with another musician he might hear something completely different from what. I'm hearing over like a simple chord. Saw a lotta people in general inspire my art. So what are your thoughts around the the notion that being around other people who are creative necessarily in your discipline or even in your same medium right. Is that important to growing as a creative as an artist. So if you're around like you may be a musician right but if you're hanging around like painters you're hanging around like chefs. Do you feel that. You're getting something from the help. You grow what you're doing. Yeah hundred percent all all. My friends are artists in different art. Forms like my friend. Switzerland who does visual art and my friend jubilee who does Videography and directing. They help inspire me. So don't because it's two completely different worlds but at the same time we're all in the same world and seen him do art and seeing them be creative will always no matter like what scenario where we might be seeing them do their thing he wanted to make and just be around them and we just kind of be created together even if we're not collaborating on one singular piece.

"Our next special guest has been around the game of football. His entire Life. Legendary coach was his dad and he's a legendary coach as well. This is Bob back now. Son of Jack Bicknell and Bobby been around the game game a long time yesterday. Was a crazy football game. I mean, uh, I think the officials in that in my mind the lead can't be proud of what took place in the officials kind of lost. Control. Lost lost little bit everything during the course. That football game. How crazy was it on the sideline? You know, I mean, it's crazy, but you really just don't think about trying Go on the next play. I mean, I really think that You know, something happened with Tyler. I didn't get to see anything and picked. The reality of it is she needs to be able to play the next play. And so he's got to make sure he controls that. And, um, you know, I think that It is what it is. You know, You just got to go on the next play and keep playing game and that's what we tried to do. Coach. T had a five catch day He took a leap in a hurdle attempt late in the game. And I guess tweaked the hammy on one hand. You probably love the effort. On the other hand, are you holding your breath when you're wide receiver Coast airborne like that? No, not really. Because I think that those guys are out there trying to make plays. And you know, I liked it. The effort. I mean, it was late in the game. You know if we could have ever leaked over the guy and gone and scored and then you get it. No inside or something, and you got a chance to win the game. So you know, I think he'll be fine and you know he's going to compete like that. And you know, it's kind of a lot of why we went down there and wanted to draft a kid like this. He compete plays hard practices hard does everything we ask him to do so. Um, you know, I'm kind of happy that it you know, he's trying to make a play talking about a guy that Practices. Hard plays hard works hard. It's Tyler Boyd. I mean he's been. He's been phenomenal all year long, and he has a 72 yard touchdown catch and could have built on that. And who knows what kind of day he could have had when you lose him as your primary slot guy? No. You were rolling. You know, more than one person in there. How? How big A loss was that? I mean to have Tyler Boyd eliminated from your passing attack. That's gonna be critical. It is. It's a big loss. I mean, you know, Ptolemy's understand if that's his responsibility when he's a big part of what we do, Um, I'm not coach speak, but I do have complete confidence in Alex Harris and when he goes in, so No, you just go on to the next guy. But Tyler is an important part of what we do. He's one of the best players in this league and you know it's a big loss when we when we lose a member, that's just the reality. So You know, hopefully moving forward. We learned from this. We realized how important it is that you know, you just never control what what they might do. So you've got to make sure that you're on top of, you know, doing things the right way, Coach. When we talk about Tyler, week to week, I always fall back on the word crafty or craftiness. He just seems to have a sense of Finding his way into a crevice or an opening on the field kind of kind of speak to the nuance of his game. And what makes him Tyler Boyd. You know it xylitol bit of just the way he moves and the way it's the timing of when he shows up first or when he comes speed off the ball or, you know, it's just it's just It's kind of what makes him special. So you allow him to do those kind of things and crafted a great work, You know, just has a great feel for the game. Feel for for underneath coverage is so we can sit in there if it is it man to man coverage. On Ben, You know he's got good size, and he's got good speed. I mean, I killed him sometimes about it, Steve, But, you know, he takes it in to run down The sideline and National Football League game is not easy to do. So I think when he combines all that, I think is knowledge now his work ethic. It's all just come in tow who he is and who was supposed to be as a player, and, you know, I'm proud of him for that. I think he's done a great job. You know, I love watching him play. It's just We gotta keep men now, So that's the key to the whole thing. You know a lot of people lot of fans after the game, the reaction was, you know, where was a J. Tyler goes down in a J. You know, the old A J would step up and this version of AJ didn't step up. And how close is AJ getting coach to being the old A. J. He's very close. You know, There's just a lot of things that go on, you know, just opportunities that game and, you know, situations and all those things and, you know, be honest with you. We threw this plant to him and legitimately is double. This double can be because he's still agent green. They still gets double covered. And that's why Tyler Boyd is able to do what he's doing. I mean, God, Tyler what happened at the end of last year? How hard it was. When he was the guy getting double bond really kind of slowed him down, and so I think you you take each week week to week. I know it is going to be here on Wednesday, right to practice ready, Do all the things that he's gotta do. I know he prepares himself, and hopefully some of those things happen. You know, Tyler Boyd 72 Yard Touchdown was not supposed to be that. You know the answer to a zero pressure that hopefully get the ball out. He gets 8 10 yards and everything's great. He turns the corner and goats. So then, all of a sudden, you have a couple more catches. The guy has 150 yards. Well, that's just more, You know, a little bit of luck or a little bit of, you know, just opportunity that sell the right way. So I think this week, you know, hopefully, opportunities will come and I know it, they'll be right. He's the Best pro best person ever been around. I know it's not easy for him, you know, and coming back after anything that he's come back from will never be easy, but I really believe he's progressing. I think he's getting to the point where You know, you could really help yourself Coach back to Ah, tea for a second rookies Gotta it's all about learning and adjusting edge ago in dealing with new things and things for the first time. Kind of speak to if you could. The progress you've seen in tea from maybe day one of camp to where he is right now is an NFL wide receiver. Well, you know, he's just got a real feel for.
