Julie Kelly and Mark Levin Agree Philip Bump Is a Fraud

"Great. You know, when people do their little hit jobs, they don't understand. I hit back twice as hard. We have this guy Phil bump. National correspondent Washington Compost You spent a lot of time interviewing individuals in the jail from January 6th interviewing their lawyers going through the charging documents to the your knowledge. Has this Communist for the Washington Post filled bomb ever been to the jail? No. In fact, I doubt that he knows that the deplorable jail even exist. There is no indication in his column that he realizes that three dozen January 6th capital protesters are sitting in that jail has been in that jail since February. And that there are dozens of all for other jails across the country being denied bail simply because of their involvement in January six He doesn't mention that in his article. Why do you think that is Because he's a fraud. That's right. Let's go on, he says. Here, um Host Mark Living is focused on the issue repeatedly in June, he told his audience that we're hearing That there in some of the worst jails. Some are being put in solitary environment where they only have an hour where they can go outside of that. That they're being fed poor food. They're being treated like they're terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, where they be treated actually better. Is there something I said there that's inaccurate. No. And, um it's too bad that Philip Bump didn't listen to the oath Keepers status hearing that I did today, where there are three keepers. None charged with violent crime. No weapons charge. No assaulting police officers, No direct

"You may have heard the term never trump. Or maybe you have it. It's an insider's term referring to the petulant little games that are played by the career operatives people for whom politics is a game. It's how they make their living. They don't see goodness and justice and and solid policies to create wealth and opportunity in the land. This is how they make a living. They're hired guns. And here to talk with us about that is Julie Kelley she's a political commentator senior contributor. American greatness and she's written a book disloyal opposition. How the never trump right tried and failed to take down the president does that mean in two thousand sixteen because they're still trying Julie? They sure thanks for having me on Michael. They're up to their old tricks and so hopefully, they won't be successful this time either so personal for them. It is as I write in my book. This is really a five year crusade from never trumpers and we're talking of course about Bill Kristol Mex Food Jennifer Rubin Jonah Goldberg David from the usual cast of characters they were. David French. Yes. Thank you. who I think is Jennifer Rubin I. Call Him Mr Jennifer. Rubin. because he's still unhinged. Particularly his Lewis more useless than some of the rest. I am agreeing with you Michael. When I wrote the book, there were others who were in need never trump hierarchy who had more discussed four, but David French has quickly catapulted to the top position. But. At least unlike Jonah Goldberg he doesn't just repeatedly post pictures of his dog. That's true for talk about superheroes. Well, no David French does that they you know whenever something exciting happens on our side suddenly they talk about you know hot dogs and and PIPPA. Said, can you imagine rooting against your country and against the party that you've claimed for all these years you were supporting and against American greatness I mean, how do you do that? So why did you write this book of all the things you could write about? Why did you WanNa talk about the never trumpers? That's a great question because I used to be in this camp, right? I'm I call myself a reformed neo conservative. I was a huge fan of Bill Kristol. He was one of my early political. I guess you would say icon right after you know in the early nineties after Bill Clinton one she was Dan Quayle's chief of staff. He sort of helped the Republican Party regroup he put together and formulated the opposition to Hillary Clinton's health care. Plan. He really helped work with Republicans to win back the House representatives nineteen nine four. So he really was kind of an influential figure back. Then he started the weekly standard, which sort of must reading. So, I was really shocked to see his strong opposition to Donald Trump. Obviously before the election but certainly afterwards and when he started saying things that were so opposite to what he'd been saying for twenty some odd years. I thought well, what is this what's up with this? So in February twenty seventeen, I wrote this tongue in cheek break up letter to Bill Kristol that was published in the federalist looking back. Then he sounded quasi sane compared to what he is now, and so I just started following this never trump movement who was involved in it how they've switched their positions where their money is coming from more importantly, which is all from the left and democratic activists..

Out of order and I thought it was passing because I would just press the button and you could I could start to tell where they were in their run. How their voices sounded stuff and I'm just just to get there that way with you. You've a little Bob. A little blonde cut like you did back in the day. I cut it my solved with some kitchen scissors. This is this is the quarantine cut you should see my kids. Wow, all right here cuts right now. You know where? Her. Long piece and I by no means trying to make any sort of political statements. They're all blond and they have like Dave I was like wish. Maybe it's not to this for. Your haircut. I get it all act Super Nazi. ruined. Hair Bowen. That's not a great look for them. Especially since I'm like airing on the side of radicalizing them, he feel about all this. The black lives matter and the and the looting, and we think of all the violence is kind of thing that everybody says will. The violence isn't good I wish they weren't breaking into stores and stuff. Like what are they gonna do with Supreme Shoes that I said. What would you do is supreme shoes. At one kid said well, I have supreme. She's and I was like imagine if you could never have supreme shoes Megan at work. You don't have it in so I kind of like sometimes smashing a window is your alternate expression of outrage against all the consumerism that is is being pushed in your face so much the radicalizing your children and I said. I have to talk to be able to talk me 'cause I feel like publicly. You can't talk about. Right now you can't roll, you look like. You're like trying to be some horribly obnoxious, White Savior, or you're oversimplifying I just try to. Shut up and keep it home. I saw somebody posted something to something on instagram. Don't be afraid to say something wrong. Don't be afraid and I was like that's not maybe the best message because we live in this system now. The social media system that is just rife with. Misinformation and it's become. It's drawing these tribal faultlines sometimes lines. That shouldn't be drawn. Using information that is not factual so I thought that was a really strange thing to say, and it's and it's the reason I agree with you I'm afraid to say too much because I also don't want to. I want to be critical of what I'm absorbing I want to take some time in digest it. I also don't want to upset any group unless it's a group of Astles, all upset races I stay off social media in general but I hear people going. You can't be silent. You have to say something if you have a voice of use, it and I think. What is the responsible way to do that? Because I am a white privileged woman. What am I supposed to say? That is not going to be offensive or speak four somebody. Take their voice away and at the same time. I don't WanNa dislike order Gucci Online and close the door like I'm could the last person you want to hear from celebrity. I would think you know. What is the rock think of this? What is? Bette, Midler, think about this like I that that's not the point, but I think the point of these protests that you're hearing from the people who do matter when it comes to that. You're hearing from the people and that's that's really encouraging. Where are you right now? You wouldn't. Country I'm I'm I'm in Ghana. A. Yes. I'm making. I tried to think of that movie. Right that's that's what you see. That's so funny. On TV show for eleven years. That's really funny. But what do they know that you went to work all the time? They knew that you were doing probably why they came with me to work, and they were there for the final shooting day and. Whether there a million times I've heard. Other people say this who have kidnapped careers in an kids just want you to be their parent. So that's all. Day, Yulia Thompson said her kids haven't seen back. Maybe they saw the first back the future, but they haven't seen the sequels. Zoe. Doria. Zine back to live. Like a half mile walk up to are going knock. Really Yeah I'd of big FAT DCR right under. So incredulous, but we so they did this thing I wonder if that's partly why they don't want to sit and watch it like. They know that this thing took some of your time. When they were little and the show is a big deal and every time we go anywhere, they would someone above above modern family. And they were. monoploy monitor. And then they got older. And with me as always is my brother Christian Zachary, who hasn't fully left the nest yet, either we move to a nest very close to the nest. Yes, Trish is right. The key part is I'm five minutes away I. got this House recently, so I can be closer to them to four indication like this for such a pandemic, the decision to move close to them was more general like they're getting older, and they'll need help, but who would have foreseen that they would would've needed. This kind of help. Soon happened like yeah, a couple of months after an pretty regular help and again like. We can't get too far into exists way too much to unpack with. Parents! I got to save it for therapy, but when she shamed me the Parsley. I also want to read this text. I got it reminded me of the sex that I got. This is a couple of weeks ago, she said. Are you coming home today? I was up at a place in Massachusetts. I said no tomorrow. Why sit are you? Are you growing parsley at your house outside where I could steal whenever I'm up at the lake I try to keep my phone where I don't want to be around as much so I just had gone to. This was six thirty five. She takes me that are you? Are you going Parsley Jim PM? Yeah Oh. Yeah should clarify that, so they're not fully insane. Parsley at six thirty in the morning. So? This is like six forty I got that at eight sixteen, I got an all caps and several exclamation marks question marks partially. Her. Christian road he has parsley. She goes wear exactly. It has to the left. Why are we talking about this strange family? This new arrangement that I'm living in I'm living in to that. This is sort of a a modern kind of family that we're s because back in the day I think the big advancement was the railroad right? That was the big advancement that. That sent families away average sort of caused families to relocate and move away. Yeah, because back in the day a couple of generations ago, that was unheard of to move away from your family. You sort of all stuck in the same area right? This wouldn't be. This is in a way. What we're living is more old fashioned. We're regressing to an earlier time. Yeah! It's modern in a way. It is still because it is a modern era, and it's a different way now to lift. Some. Even our own grandparents one set move to Florida, the other state in Rochester which is too far away to like really visit that frequently. But, we haven't done that. Why are we talking about our modern family? Well I'm glad you asked drummer of. Our guest today is on a show or was on a show called modern family. She didn't get fired. The show ended y'all. Is that what it made it something? That's how I felt. That's how I interpreted out. I think people know that, okay. Anyway our guest today interrupt your introduction well. It was going so well. I know it really was. Also I feel like. I. Don't want to reduce her to like modern family. She's also like an old friend and colleague and one of my oldest people that are somebody I worked with. What is her name? Okay? Well, it's dame. Julie Bowen our guest this Julie Bowen from Dame, but should be if there's any justice in that. What is she lacking? From be how why hasn't she been made a tape? Well? Maybe she's too salty. She assaulted Judi dench's salty and has A. Sailor's tongue thanks, can you see be like just because everyone probably thinks of her as dame, Judi, dench in this like. He's probably. Bet She's got like a bit I. Bet you meet her. It'd be like. Taint you detention games they. Did you hear what she just said Hey. Julie Bowen is a very important person in your life because you did. A show called Ed. Yes, with her where she played the female lead my first show. The. My People know this you don't have to tell them. You and I. Don't think people do know this because it was, we had a very loyal following, and if you're listening right now, and you did watch the show. You're probably somewhat incredulous like well. What do you mean of course I know that, but not many people watched it. But. Yeah, still to this day. The people who did watch it. It seemed to really love it and I love it because it like you said it was my first real professional dvd on that show just for a little more context. You played awkward high. School student and she was your teacher. Not that unlike villi allow and Mary Kay Letourneau Oh. I watched the Mary Human American Laterna story last which we really recommend everyone. It's a fascinating story. We've always been fascinated died. Which is very? Nice, but it's a fascinating story, yeah! Anyway, so you do not I was joking. You weren't awkward of school. Ager I would have been really flow type had. On the show yesterday, acquiesce to my because you were in love with her. And I actually did make advances on the show to her. That character did I professed my love and I did it through like Shakespearean text and stuff like joined a band and I played to her and stuff like that. It was a relief. Talk Out. I don't want to get into it, but it was just so fun to do and Julia was one of the. Key elements that made it so fun I just. She's the I just love being around her. She everyone did. So I selfishly, this was such a golden opportunity to see again. Catch up and I hope you are enjoy it. here it is. Let's get into why why not? Why on so here? It is catching up with my old friend Julie Bowen. Sweetheart to?.

"You're kind of go by the sulphur. Whatever so they were so lovely with me because I you know Leslie would take me a movement to say. You're in my light just so generous so I really. It was on on on the job training on the job training. With all of my heroes up and and Barbara Billingsley MOMS right. Just so they they were great and Bob Robert Hayes. He was on Angie at the time it. Tv He was doing his TV show so he would split the difference so sometimes he would run from one. Sound stage are sound stage. You know kind of throwing different scripts around and and you could always tell when he was coming here laughter you know where he there is the makeup people in need hear them laugh in the wardrobe here and the laughter we get closer and you go Bob sear a swell guy. What lovely memories then? Oh Wonderful Memories. That's great. That's great to hear because it's a happy movie and it's nice to know that they're happy memories associated with them which isn't always the case. No it's true now but I want to turn the clock back a little bit because you were. You've had several careers and you you you were from Cincinnati originally right Cincinnati or from Cincinnati network. I loved it sixteen so I think but but you who who launched you on a modelling career. I was working. There was a local a local store and I was on the team board and Eileen Ford was in town and invited me to come and You know To New York. Ny State this summer with her and then went back home. And then I wasn't a very good model so when I wanted to come back. She said I would make more money. Babysitting wasn't gonNA take no for an answer. Though so I called Will Meena who had another modeling agency. So she said okay come. Those are two of the biggest agencies ever. They've they were big. I mean he's being Ford. Starting with Ford is is pretty pretty incredible. Well yes but I think. Eileen was right in the sense in better off babysitting but I'm thank goodness at the time. I had a lot of hair so I did a lot of shampoo as and But IT. Eileen I I did get to live. Eileen Leans House for a summer which was just stacked with young girls. You know and he'd stay in the bedroom with her daughter one of her daughter's this or that and he you know because I was from Ohio for some reason I was in charge of the drain on her back porch of her. Making sure that it didn't clog up I who knows so she saw something in you. Something draining draining good drain now. What what prompted what. What is the source of your ambition that you left home at sixteen to to make your make? Your Way in York. Well I don't know I just wanted to get out in the world. Oh I I did. I my dad was a musician. on a local TV show and in Cincinnati and. I used to love to go to work with him. And they. He was in the The ban the show was on for an hour and a half. And I kind of and my brother Michael was he was going to Carnegie at the time and My brother Kim was a guitarist so I just decided everybody else laughed. And you know They were supportive and And I think being naive was a good thing so I didn't see a lot of the things that may be I would have seen Now but then when my brother Finish College by that time? I had you know been eye lift in Italy in the in Paris and then we'll we'll yes for different agency that I guess it all but once again the hair helped and my brother. I was grateful. He my eldest brother finished school. And so we got an apartment together in New York Little I I had the bedroom. And he had the living but he starting off off Broadway theatre company with five of his friends from from Carnegie. Norman Rene and Sheldon APPs and Michael and oh I can't remember so I started working in the theater. Well it was like this little black box and I would clean and take tickets and the Norman invited me to do my first play there but an well to entered stage left you had to come up through the basement through an alley and then stand outside and wait for your cue. It's raining and I was supposed to be coming from upstairs and I was totally drenched in my characters pajamas. And I said I was coming downstairs for a cup of coffee in this little wet rag. You know it was fun and full of Great Memories and so so you're an accidental actor. Then no I had wanted to be an actress. I well when I was young little but you know I went to Walter Ir School of Drama in downtown Cincinnati in that I've wanted I took the bus every Saturday and Markel Brown. Who is a a writer here? He writes his new. Tv show on but so we were in Walter our school of drama together and here we re-met in California and he goes. I knew you when you were eleven and So he He wrote that show and created that show girlfriends. Oh sure yeah so. Mark was one of the creators of that. So and then you started studying with William Hickey. Wonderful Act oh. He was great He was just great and what was so wonderful about him is that there was no wrong or right way to anything so any never criticized you and I just love that and So that was at HP studios. And Yeah I just the fond memories of him coming in and kind of always had a cigarette and he now just watching us kids do our thing but he was so supportive and and just yes a great great actor. Yeah and So you got this this early experience and Did you think that that was going to be Your Path Pursuing theater full time. And I you know I'm just going to be really honest I I. I think that you know you live. Kinda hand to mouth so you don't I am I didn't go to college. So I- wherever I could get a job was what momentum for sure. That's the motivation. And that's the day to day reality as we as we say a little too often. I guess it isn't history while you're doing it. You didn't know airplane was making history. Either you know and So you you were just looking for the next job the next opportunity exactly and the guys David and Jim will. We used to calm the boys this sucker. Sucker sucker Abraham yes and I remember. I went up in the elevator with them. It was at the old paramount folding. Where I had auditioned was too much of a segue. I just I pray and we all went up on the elevator together by who they were. How funny. Yeah and then I went in. It was them and You know it just who knew an for me. It was really basically my first movie and I mean did too little parts that I was cut out of Jerry. Real actress out or something. That's a right of passage you yes But you know you go when they called and said I had the part after testing with Bob and everything I was back in New York doing off off Broadway my theater and it was just like I wanNa make a movie. It schussed in that first day on a sound stage and the sm- It was magic. It was just like every nineteen forties movie. Just look at this and there's cameras in Poland and you're on the paramount studio lot of wonderful lot and it just doesn't get more Hollywood. You get those gates. Oh everything about it is Hollywood right. You can't go. I can't imagine if you're doing that for the first time. I can't imagine how you even stand up right or attempt to make words come out. I I was so terrified I was so terrified but I you know I learned my script. Mica play before I went to California because I was so nervous. I still do that. So in Bob just remembered Hayes. Just put you at ease and Mr Koch Senior Harkat Senior. That it was joyful. It was like after the first day hours like ours. Heaven of all. I like to think that when someone sees everything you're doing is in earnest you know that you're approaching it saying I'm a sponge you know. Tell me what to do better yet. Helmi how to be better at this. You know you hope that that that is the reaction that those people who've done it forever will look at you and say she wants to learn. And so we're going to have an exactly and not in the kindest way. I mean it. Just Hey kid move. Yeah I'm with you with a at some time must have gotten that because that's how that works but the the occasional Julie dear just you have over slightly but now it said incredible incredible experience. I can't an old friend of mine was the producer of that movie was hired by Howard. Koch senior to produce the film because he had Been working for Roger Corman and was such an efficient producer as you have to be working for Roger Corman That coach was impressed and he hired introduced. The movie's name. Is John. Davison an old friend who I met at Nyu and so. I have a little bit of inside knowledge in one of the pieces of key pieces of knowledge. I have SA- paramount thought. That film was unrelievable. Own My gosh. They were they. Were going to shelve the movie. No Kidding Wow and forget what other movie was coming out. That summer they were banking on. That was going to be their big summer. Hit and That one tanked and the minute I guess. The trailer for airplanes started playing. Which of course there was no Internet. Then it started playing in theaters and getting reactions from audiences so the day it opened it took off like a like a meteor. Wow there's no stopping that. I never that. That's amazing. I know we were we. When we shot we were way over in Culver City You know and it's when Culver City just had there. I think there were two little sound stages so that's where we were and I think So I I believe David S-occer said in a couple of things you could. We're they had no money to go back and like re-shoot something it that that was it and so we were doing one and two takes nine but it just it did. It took off. It was pretty neat now. Speaking of taking off you in rapid succession were cast. In one of Woody Allen's best films a midsummer night's sex comedy and Albert Brooks lost in America so within just a handful of years..

"Maltin. You're listening to MALTIN ON MOVIES. And we have today doing her. Very first podcast. A woman who has starred in everything from the immortal airplane to the recently celebrated in justly celebrated marriage story and that is Julie Hagerty. Welcome Julie Well. It's I'm just thrilled to be here. And and it's it's an honor your honor to be here. Well impressed right. I will tell you this one. So you spoke to Julie at the spirit awards at the Independence. Get Awards and when I so I was worked the show. I've got to work it every year and at the end of it my dad and I all sort of talent wrangler. Yeah the end when we moved job this year and last year as well because I'm quite easy to see You've got rain with the hair. It's beautiful thank you quite easy to spot. I stand on the end of the edge of the stage getting people off the stage in the right direction so they can go back and do press and you sort of have to flail your arms around and get them to see you so they go the right direction and My Damn night at the end of the show. We always you know. Get in the car to go home and we discuss our our stories for the day who we saw the first thing he said to me Jesse. I'm actually hacker. Oh my God. He's met once before but I wanted to say hello again hello again. He was very happy camp made his day and I saw you through the crowd. Goodness you kept coming my way. So it's like and then said hello so I was thrilled but we met briefly also at our Temple. So yes this is. This is one of the more unusual meetings people. Ask US sometime Hollywood. That never happened. How how do we? How do we book guests for our podcast? People have been known to ask that question. Well I there are many ways. We get Offered people we were pitched by publicists. Sometimes we seek out people. We chance to meet people in this case Attending High Holy Day services across at our temple in Beverly Hills. I had This is in September. I had seen marriage story at the telluride Film Festival on Labor Day weekend but the general public had not seen it yet. And you're a member of our temple via marriage a Jewish gentlemen and So I saw you and I said I gotta go over and congratulate her and no one else was doing and if it had been two months later. I'm sure a lot of people would have been telling you how much they enjoyed you in that. Film Noah Baumbach terrific film and But I guess I was the first person to respond to the movie. I know we shot. And you said you'd see in the movies on. The newer just was thrilling. To hear that you you know that you seen it and I was just And to meet you and and also I still gushing also. You're so good thank you. I have to say I. I was so excited to work with Noah and He's right up there with. I think he is a young one of our great American writer directors and someone said to me it to watch him direct. It's it's it's his playground and so anyway I'm getting. I went to meet him. I got the part and I was so thrilled. And then to work with scarlet and Merritt Weaver and Adam driver and be derided and he not just loves Adam Sandler said to me I met him briefly I had commented that he had been Noah's other film and I said how wonderful he was he goes. We'll be prepared because you'll do twenty or thirty takes and I was like really and he said yes I will. I was so happy to hear that because otherwise as an actor. You would've thought I'm not getting sure. Sure sure and terrified and instead he gave me the gift of being able to go out and do it again. And No Sets up the there. No phones on the set And it's very quiet and calm and it's it's so you get into no as world anywhere. Hearse which is unusual for film. Now we rehearsed to two weeks are scenes. Just those little scenes and He blocked it out. And so you were just ready to come in and disappear and then Noah's world so I he he's. He's just spectacular and Scarlett. Hanson is awfully good to have most of your work with her yes and I have to. She is as kind and brilliant and beautiful and she would do things like at night and not tell anybody have like a Been Yay Truck. Cut off or a a soup and grilled cheese. And you should just to me just as comfortable as you would never I mean? She's Scarlett Johansson Right. If you took her outside of that I'm plopped or in Ohio or you know somewhere. I said this to my dad about her We met her very briefly When she was getting to do her hand and footprint ceremony grauman's with all of the other vendors and she could not have been nicer and I got to speak to hurt spirit awards. She came over to me to talk about my hair and my tattoos and stuff like that and I'm looking because her team is standing there and I'm trying to show them that. I'm not keeping her trying. I'm trying to like my hands up going. She's talking to me guys. I swear I'm not trying to you know and she was so sweet overwhelmingly sweet and lovely and I said to my dad after the fact I want. If you didn't know she was Scarlett Johansson. You wouldn't know she was scarlet your hands. You just think this this lovely person and I think what's been so much fun about seeing her and Joe Rabbit as well as you get to see this extra this quirky. She's just she's just really special. She is so special and the fact that she's just so accessible and SORTA Kinda like well she's normal. She's a person. Yes I you know. I guess because She Scarlett Johansson you expect her to be else but I think that that's the beauty of her work is. She's just centered and kind and you know and she's just accessible. She hasn't let fame Turner inside out upside down. Absolutely not and your musical number. Oh she heard. Merit was delightful. Oh what a sweet lovely thing and it for anybody I. It's actually on Youtube. You can look it up so if you WANNA see the number yeah you can look it up marriage story and it's there that's I always terrified. I don't sing or dance and In merit was maybe not as terrified as I and so Barrett and I were rehearsing and rehearsing and she would come over to my house. And you know and we'd have Lime Yogurt and one day we rehearsed with With Scarlett she came in and said Oh and like five minutes boom and then went back to work and merit and I both like went You know sort of and then merit. I bet this in the sweetest wave but only in a funny way merit looked at me and she said I'm so glad someone meaning me who's worse than I and I felt long war just delightful darling to an and I am not. I think she's shy You know put just I will watch any show if if it has her name on it. Sure Oh sure. Let's watch this. Yeah 'cause she's Did you see what was the one where she plays the? It's the cow the sheriff in town. Oh it's so good. It was a couple years ago. She won an emmy for it because my mom watched her. She's a nurse. Jackie yes my mom watched that religiously she plays this gun slinging shariff and they're only women left in this town and Jeff Daniels and he's really evil and up. His that is fascinating. It is so good and so scary and she's just fling in these guns around perfect training to perform Sondheim Song. We did have fun with that. Now we really did when it was over. But that's Godless gutless. You guys must watch it. Yes how is only seven episodes and then so you get your pick Jack. O'connell offers really good. Wow you'll have to call me after you see right. Yeah we've just got godless. You can look it up. How cool now. Another current event more or less is that this is the year twenty twenty. I still can't quite adjusted that now but that means that airplane is forty years old eight. How is that possible by now? I don't know Bob Denier Still very good friends. Oh Yeah I'm Robert. How Dare You yes? We saw the nicest guy and so we've stayed friends and Forty years just look at each other and go. We were just in San Francisco and they had like a little I hadn't seen the movies with an audience since it opened all my really know. God I hadn't seen it in years and years symbolic I went because it was like a celebration. Sure and people came dressed like ball of his hair out and to see that the movies still people were laughing and well. It's so funny it's also on TV all the time. It is like a permanent fixture on television. That's well we say because it is. No one knows what's going happen when they make a film they don't know if it's going to exist forever or if it's going to fade away or if maybe it gains a following after the fact and you certainly don't know if you're going to be in something that's going to become a piece of pop culture Where people are ripping it off and referencing it all the time to the point where people don't even know that it started without that you know and and Leslie Nielsen was such A. He was so famous so famous. Like when I was growing up when I was a kid he was still one of the biggest events that film. Reinvented his ear. And Lloyd bridges to Yes And Robertson these guys who never even smiled in Asia point and they were actually kind of making fun of themselves. Yes of course the double glass. Oh Yeah and they're all I had the pleasure of meeting them. All they were all very nice guys and And had a one wonderful senses of humor but not on screen. Yeah until that moment. Yeah Lloyd Bridges Was it was sea hunt you know. And they were always diving and An all Peter Graves another one. He was always you know and then to see them in these parts. Yeah and then Leslie Nielsen. Went on to do nothing but comedy. Yeah after he had so much fun making people. But that's when I was a kid I was born in the eighties and when I was a kid. He was say one of the most famous people and he was in everything. Whenever they needed that quirky character he appeared Jeff. Bridges Take Jeff Bridges several times. He told me he was in a phone. Call blown away about a terrorist and play by Tommy Lee Jones. There was a character for an old sea. Salt kind of guy and Jeff said well have you thought of my dad and the Producers Said Your Dad. Your Dad's a comedian. Forty years of of dramatic work instantly evaporated because he appeared in airplane. Go figure gopher now so those. Those guys were all veterans. Yes that was your first movie. There's baby you baby me yes. I JUST. I was twenty four. It was my first film. I was living in New York doing off. Off off off off and I screen tested Howard. Koch senior was the executive a lovely lovely man and so we did the old fashioned screen test. I tested with Bob in an all those guys. I didn't know about lighting or marks. You know I knew in theater you you know..

"Hard is it to be a kid who does raise gets everything that they want? Well we we didn't and get average. We weren't very home. We weren't spoiled completely. I mean you can't have three kids and ice skating and not have money. Ice Skating is extremely the expensive sport Because all the training coaching lesson time ice rink time. The costumes competitions that traveling being like so. It's a lot so they were spending a lot a large portion of money on the demand. Good grades from you surgeon. They did but I naturally naturally got good grades. You didn't I barely stay. I mean I'm telling you right now. I had thought about this for a while and I thought about teachers features that really made an influence on my wife and there weren't many but there were enough enough that saw through the annoying. Add Kid who just couldn't focus. There were a few that just all you need is really one who believes in you back. Then teaching was so different like they took a kid like you and labeled you bad ad versus like really recognizing whether you're dyslexic or eighty or whatever. They weren't really aware of that back then. No and it just was in paddling. We we had corporal punishment I got paddled. Oh Yeah I got to ask wacked out of me was it. Was it like a hard wooden paddle Catholic school or public. It was a public school. Wow I got paddled and But I I just WanNa facebook tune Mrs Muller Mrs Royale missus Meyer Mr Morrow uh-huh there's some other MRS skinner and Yes and I wrote this thing I put pictures of them and I said these are the teachers That just just you know when I think of like what got me through. Things was Mrs Muller Teaching Me Romeo and Juliet but like in a fun way that even a kid who was such such a tent tension problems and all these things she had a way of just making me understand and making me like Romeo and Juliet GonNa be in English literature in that one semester and then the rest are Caesar ds or whatever go there. Mrs Row made history. Okay I remember. She had patients. I remember there's this Barney. Rubble at the bottom of a Fruity fruit loops box. And I remember can't Brennaman whizzing it by my head and it went went through three giant world maps. This little Barney. Rubble doesn't wrote her roadmaps. She goes Michael Cat out mall and we went down the hall but she had a sense of humor about it and she didn't like punish us and get so mean she was like what do I have to do with you to like. She got a kick kick out of us even though we were bastards and like the the substitute teacher came in. Did you have teachers like that. Who just like or were you? Were you picked on Ed Mani were you or were you kind of popular well. I was barely in school. I mean we only went to school for hours a day because we trained for four hours in the morning before school school and then we went to school a half day and then we left school and went to train another four hours so we were popular and that everybody knew us because we were the family of ice skaters skaters and everybody knew my brother and sister. No I tried to get jewels to stick and no one would stick it nickname. The three the three. Oh you know the three boys we were just. The Ben Skids the Ben's kids and so I remember I remember junior year era at the end of the year. Jeff Hagan turned to me. And he's like were you even in school this year. I know thing did you Judeh guys in high school I did I did I did. Were you. Were the handsome. Do you remember the real good looking guy that you dated. I dated a lot of guys. Did you devirginized is young age. I lost my virginity at probably. Almost eighteen. I was I was. It was the end of Sophomore Year of high school. Also your fifteen fifteen. It wasn't Jeff. Wasn't you know it was Roger Case Roger Caisson yet no-no where was it. It was at his parents house. Really were there. They were gone. Nervous service no because I wanted to lose my virginity to him because he was he was the guy that everybody wanted gentle. He was very sweet yes he was yeah he was a little older. Yeah could you gonNA marry this guy I did. It'd be high school sweethearts I want you. Dead We eight months but it was very tumultuous and then we broke up and then broken very heartbroken and then no he he just had some issues young young and then I started dating other like one of his friends. No I never dated. Here's a such a nice guy to uh never dated him though I always. I never dated anybody my grade. I always dated Either older and then when I was a senior than it was younger. Guys with you guys are the ones that go younger. Girls go older younger senior year. Jason Dice Jason. Dies was a sophomore. Now he was a junior I think he was. He was football ballplayer football quarterback. I think so. I should know that I was a team. Mascot at the time I know how does popular being a team mascot else God well but it's bad they would they would For some reason there was like they would always get like three popular girls to be the mascots. Then we'd run around in little ferry suits and cheer and it was. I wanted it so bad because it was such a status symbol but then as soon as I got it I was like. Oh my God this is awful. They don't WanNa do that. How long did you before you had sex with? Geoff dyson quick and did a pretty quick. Yeah what's her right. You're young is young. I also I think after Roger. I realized that nobody I met in high school was going to be my forever so I kinda dated like a guy if that makes any sense so like go Erez like we would day. You're at Walmart can't do that because I I basically knew I was going to go off to New York City and study acting and I was GONNA go to La and who knew who is going to be in Mike. Nobody nobody from my childhood was going to take that journey with me so I just I didn't want any strings attached. Did anyone ever look you up. Lean Jeff Hagan for instance they ever try to reach on facebook and go. Hey It's me how are you love to catch up. You're you're successful. Nobody sorry no I mean people. I mean facebook friends with all my old high school. Yeah Yeah but no I did look Roger case in though after my divorce I it looks as if he does he thinking about it. I was I was like well. Maybe maybe I was wrong. Me I did and we met up up he came out to. La would not visit me. No he had some family stuff he had to do and we met a drink and then I realized now once again wrong again though I think he was open to the idea but I think so I was Kinda like what am I doing. No I didn't and why would the warning sign was he said he just didn't like Los Angeles and you can never seem living in La. And I could never see myself living anywhere else I I did that with a girl wants. I was this girl. I was dating in Montreal. I say girl woman but I think a girl I just say girl boy but She lives in. She lived in Montreal and I was dating her and she was like I go whichever. La She goes no no never never would and she was kind of a teacher and she's great. Hey girl awesome awesome and she goes to Montreal and I go no no but then you sleep with her. Quite the data awesome awesome girl to this day. I mean I haven't talked to her while but I wish the best but would it always kind of shocked my friends one day my friend goes. Hey Man is what's your name on on the Bachelor Mike. What do you mean I'm like damn it is? What's your name on the bachelor ago? What's what's her name? What's her name? Who what's your name? What's her name like? What no what's your name? What's your name would never do the Bachelor Jeff? Hagan would never never. Are you kidding me now now. She's the Montreal she would never and it went on and on and probably go do I. I would bet my house. That's not her. She would never do that. It was did she make it fire. We'll look she won the bachelor one the bachelor a couple of years ago and she's a great girl. I was dating this girl and I was at the Premiere for Guardians of the Galaxy. Lexi to which I was in a great night and then this girl comes home and goes hey she would like to just like you to come say hi to her and her bachelor and I'm like no and then later on. We had a couple of emails. That were Nice. Hey whatever and she's like well you know you're the one who didn't want to come over and say I don't want to come over and say Oh oh I was with a girl that was odd. Why would I want to do that? And by the way why wouldn't you just come over and say hi. Why so somebody? She's again this. I don't know no but I you know Sushi Blonde no okay. What sucks is this? I liked her and and if she would have moved to. La At least been open to the fact that India was just kind of my friends. And I were taken aback when all of a sudden that wasn't even a Yep she's not GonNa have done and then all of a sudden she's on the bachelor. It was just kind of shocking. So yes so that a a case in her case and it didn't work out but you're still he. He's not very active on facebook so he broke his heart. Maybe loose now. I'm sure he's fine. He's doing just fine looking guy. Good family is probably listening. Going that pitch. She dread too much drinker. I like having some wine but I do keep drinking in check. I mean I come from a long line of alcoholics. You do John Everybody. I'm glad he's not a vascular surgeon anymore now and he was doing surgery but since he retired yes and my mom and then I mean when you're saying alcoholics that's a very that's a heavy when I think of like certain people like Oh they're not an alcoholic all they like some drinks here and there but they were alcohol. Ix is what you're saying. I define alcoholics by if if your personality changes when you drink. Oh Oh yeah. Let me tell you that people can drink a lot. And they're fine the biggest issue for me. It's when the personality changes if you here's what I said I'm not gonNA mention your name your friend or whatever I just said. Hey Look I love you. You're the most amazing person in the world sober when you get drunk. I just I don't know you and you get a little volatile. It's unpredictable and I just don't like this person. I've said it to family members when I drank frank. I'm aware and hypersensitive. Sometimes I'm like God. I wish I wasn't so aware of myself because I don't like go nuts or anything but I'm controlled like I don't one of my personality to change. I don't WANNA become unpredictable. And when it gets angry or volatile or they make big because first of all. I don't care who you are alcohol. When he started drinking Sir do drugs you make mistakes man? I don't care if you're an alcoholic or not. I've made many mistakes because I was just drinking and I felt good so I'll do that right. Not a good decision so I'm not a big drinker but You're right I think if your personality changes and if the person with you doesn't like that personality that's probably now when I was when I was is going to..

Julie Amazon's you're making more dexterous. Don't have now way you gotta fight for for the raise. And then he said the same thing and he said just get in and out as fast as you can and get home and I'll meet you at home so I tried to get in and out as fast as Zykov like I walked in the room and I said you know I know what this is about people. It was Three the three executive producers no one woman. Yeah Yeah and I said thank you so much for great for years. I've appreciated every did before this is. They wanted to you know to to have a conversation and so then I had to sit down and you know it's really. Let me release that this days because to make matters worse I worked Ah Jim Right by the studio and so I was. I had worked out that morning and it was really hot lake hotline today hot so I was only in a sports bra and a pair of like leggings and and I went to do a Leonardo Aiyar that way so all I could think about was what was that movie where the guy gets broken up with while he's naked. Is it forgetting forgetting Sarah. Sarah Marshall Forgetting Sarah Marshall. That's all I could think about was like I don't have a shirt on and then losing my job and I'm like sitting there trying to I felt so so vulnerable but they wanted to discuss it. They wanted to tell me the reasons. Why and and and I you know they needed to do that for their own Their own clarity. I guess their own therapy and everybody was upset about it but I did. I didn't want to hug argue. They did but I was sweating. Smother glows on. Basically I was I was really upset. You love the show. I loved it. Oh so it was such a great family and then here you are being told like okay. We're still GONNA get together as a family but like you're on your own so so it was really hard to recover from that. It took a while it took awhile I I remember I did. I did for no should have he. I should've I remember. I met Elizabeth Mitchell right. After I was doing I gotta during some little Indie film and I was working with her and the episode had an aired yet. So nobody really knew and I was talking to run set one day and they I told her about it and you know she had been killed off of lost and it was a very similar situation. Where like they? He didn't tell you you didn't tell the actor until the last minute Intel or two last minute or whatever and I was like you know they want me to do press for the show and do interviews reviews after it airs like how do I handle that. And she's like just be honest. which is what I did was like? Yeah I killed off the show. It sucked for me like I was upset. You know and that's just the only way I know how to deal with that so it was hard and my therapist was really great because you know when they went to see him and I was crying and I was like everybody knows I felt like I got fired. That's what it feels like. You get fired. He said to me is like listen. When I'm watching a really great show and an character gets killed off? I'm not thinking. Oh my God that actor just got fired I'm thinking well this is great storytelling and we'll look at look. Game of thrones At Ned Stark's are if you haven't seen gaming talking but you're watching it and you're like he's The lady. Yeah what are you doing wing. And then it's like everybody just started like. Hey No job is safe now and walking dead the same way in Hollywood. After game of thrones faulk how many seasons you doing. I don't know I I've I know some of the walking dead cast and they told me it's the same way they're like you just don't know when your time's up we also don't know what seasons which Kinda run. I enjoyed the show for about four seasons than I realized. Are they ending up at the same hospital at the end the prison. Let's Go August zone. I Love Them. I don't like jerks. I Love Them Dombi Person. I'm vampire person I if it's good would I don't care like I just you know. There's certain Zombie movies that just hold up like the dawn of the dead. I like the old one gun one and he knows that the return of the living dead is hilarious and fun and dark and I just love that. I'm a big horror movie nut so all those night of the living dead all the original ones. They were all shot in Pittsburgh for Greg up So that was a doctor. He last doctor now retired. He retired daughter jury. He was a general vascular surgeon and what general and vascular surgeon in vascular handbasket and vascular. So like your heart. Baynes Baynes Vascular Vans Yup Nam Damn so you so you were rich. Yes I mean if you're rich usually in the eighties eighties. He's Hewlett in a big house. Yes right yes I I remember. We moved from one side of town so the other side in so it was a different school district and and I remember I was in the fifth grade and some of the girls came up to me. And they're like you paid three hundred for your house and I was like three hundred dollars. Yeah and then. They went home to my parents and they're like the everybody's schools talking about how he paid three hundred for our house. Now is the most expensive house in the neighborhood MC three hundred dollars colors doesn't seem like that much money. Her Mom's like three hundred thousand. I know it's funny as remember kid and until I was about eight we were living like in duplexes and things in Connecticut and your dad was a hippie. He was like you now. He had one pair of jeans. He had like a Pinto. He busted his ass. We moved to Indiana and we moved in this big house in the corner and everybody thought like we. Oh my God. That's the biggest house on the block and in the end and yeah and then I found out that my dad had a really good deal on the house because there was what's called mine subsidence and so the House is kind of shifting and it was under these mines with the stripper whatever that strict and so yeah the houses were kind of Nice. "There's quite amazing like you go. Oh my God he's he's. He's cuter than I almost look like Shit my pictures where they happen to say yes and then go out with me like I thought this guy was a four six right down his personality. I don't know I got lost the map but anyway you don't have to deal with that 'cause you're married. Yeah and I've never done the online dating stuff I mean. I got divorced in my mid thirties and and I wanted to start dating and I didn't know how 'cause I've been with my first husband since I was like twenty two you together from like what ninety five five or something nine. Yes something like that. I mean I call. I just graduated college in Ninety Five. I met him when I moved out here to. La and we met acting class class started dating and then got married. We were together for a very long time and then got divorced and at thirty five found myself like in back in the dating world and didn't even know Lake AAC how to do it so terrifying thirty five year old divorcee. Yeah totally you know. Part of it too was. I had to accept that I might be walking away from my fertility ability at that age. Because when you get divorced in your mid thirties as a woman there's that possibility where you might not end up having kids And so I had to go to therapy about that but then did you hate when people are always two hundred kids. Do you still have kids. Women hate that. Yeah don't ask a woman would you want to have children. Yeah it's Why not why don't why don't you ask that question? It's personal personal and you don't always know what the other person's since going through now. I ended up struggling with infertility for years and went through numerous rounds of IVF with my current husband and found out we weren't able to have children in vitro or found out we weren't able to have kids and still people apple. Because I do look younger we'd go out to dinner parties and people would be like well when you're GonNa have kids and I'd be like I literally just got to the point where I'd be like I can't I can't have children and my husband would do you have to direct. I'm like well I just want the conversation to sort of like when people are saying what are you up to these days like how about nothing. Nothing Mr always say. Well I got this movie coming out that you won't see because it's an indie real any and then I got this other thing that I dish in for waiting for the answer for that one and I've got always name these things because you've made yourself feel better than you felt and so now I'm just like I don't know podcast man I love it. I don't give a shit. What moves you doing? Nothing right now. I two lines in this one thing. That marvel movie was it. I'll give you. This is it. This is me because it doesn't doesn't really matter it doesn't matter you know you start to think about stuff and you're like what what's really important by the way you go anywhere outside of Los Angeles and no one even really ask do that like the all they want. You know what I mean like. They just care about the work you've done you know. Let's SORTA chair not really going like what are you doing now. Or why aren't you working or what's going. They're just kind of like. Wow you did this and you did that and by the way. That's what you should feel as as an actor as a artists as whatever you're a doctor. I don't care what you do. You're always thinking about being relevant being the next to whatever there is such a small percentage of people that are have that Leonardo DiCaprio fame and all that stuff. But if you go say hey what'd you do. Well I've done a shit ton of TV shows. Run Dexter when visit enough. Yeah exactly you know people say oh you were on Smallville. Yeah yeah that was it. You weren't yeah. The very many people get the opportunity to be on a series seven. Was it seven years eight years for seventy seven years. Yeah but never had that opportunity to be on the show for so you are engaged attached for just a year for four years four years. Wait a minute years Diana did he says why remove all the bathtubs out out of every home. I live in wait a minute. You don't have that now. You don't have one bathtub now to showers. Why because really because of Dextra? You've just kidding. I don't know I don't like bathtubs. I like Jacuzzis. I have a Jacuzzi outside nine. A funny word either. The maybe that should be the question you ask on your dates. Are you bather shower. I like I like Jacuzzis too. Yeah I like to shower. My thing is to go for a quick swim. I'm talking five minutes Swim Jacuzzi. Five ten minutes shower. I feel good. Yeah I have a pool and I don't know how to swim but I look good in the pool reading a book. That's what I do. You don't know how to swim for forty seven years old you can't it dumped you in the ocean no I'm scrappy. I can doggy paddle. I just can't go under the water. I get very claustrophobic. I've gone to numerous swim glasses. I've had the teachers. I just can't figure out how to breathe underwater Siglo first of all underwater. So I'd panic. We were GONNA. I was kind of film at one time for Instagram. My husband trying to teach me to swim and And he's like notes so embarrassing embarrassed. He's like you feel like you're just like something's wrong with literally dying as soon as my head goes under God they come up and I'm like I can't breathe and he's like could she just just come up a little more calm. Don't act like it's the end of the world and calming. He's very he's the comp so he you guys the opposites are you kind of like do you get sort of emotional. And and he has to sort of like. It's okay Julie. It's alright yes definitely I mean it used to be. I think we used to be really different in the beginning ginning Whereas I was way more motion all and he was way calm and now we're kind of like meeting in the middle where well I think? Maybe I changed a lot and realize that like you can't let your emotions run your day look raw growing but using their stages in your life where you're like. Oh I just want to get approval. Approval I just want self esteem just want. I want my peers to love me. I want everybody to love me. Why can't they just love me? Why can't I be you ever get overwhelmed like that? Where you're like you lose sight of things and there's a moment of your life where you just kind of with the fucker you doing? None of this is important. Is You ever through that. Maybe I mean I think for me I always always always just worked as an actor and I was a young I was ice skater. Growing up it was always performing in getting praised for performance. So then when you do hit a lull and you're not working that's like the hardest thing in Lake Lake and when you're not equipped for that so Learning how to go like wait a second. That doesn't define me what defines me as my relationships to other the people how I you know take care of my home how I take care of my husband and my friends and my family and my loved ones. That's what's important. Yeah but Wendy figure that stuff out like Wendy you like you you you you talk about how important it is to be a good A wife and a good friend in a good daughter or whatever it it just it just seems like you have to. Maybe never. Maybe you've got so much love and You know your parents were there for you and proud of you and maybe maybe you weren't affected by that because when you said the ice skating thing when you sort of hit you hit a lull if you have self worth and you know you're like hey I'm good and my parents loved me and they're proud and for me. I felt like I have to be perfect at everything. Even though that's impossible in my mind I have to work myself to death. You know it was just never enough. Yeah I mean I had a weird family dynamic in that growing up my brother and Sister Regina National Ice Dance Champions and I was the youngest so I was always like the tag along kid at the rink and even though I skated and had my own accomplishments in the ice skating world I couldn't. I never was the champions that they were and I was always reminded did of that by my brother and sister. They always told me you know we're champions. You're not worried about your parent on our life revolved around my brothers. Insist career as ice skaters so I just always had to just do whatever they were doing. but ironically I got injured at at thirteen. And that's when I started acting and it was great because all of a sudden I had my own lane and so there was no longer this comparison and so then I was able to find my own footing in my own individualism. And my just my own way. You have to differentiate yourself from the rest of the family. It wasn't GonNa work you being a skater in order to get the attention you need it. You weren't going to get the fulfillment that now because they were so good. And I was good but I wasn't so good I'm not probably hurt. Look why I can't be that good. Yeah I mean it was. It was tough but at the same time to I was kind of an outsider looking in and saying we were all under a lot of pressure but they were under even more pressure having to deal with a lot of pressure and a young age you know being on that track of you know the the goal was to go the Olympics for them and everything was about that and there was a lot of pressure for especially my sister watching as an outsider. Seeing what she was going through I was I was kind of happy. Be that I was kind of the forgotten child in the family. It was okay like I. I have a little more freedom. I have a little more you you know and especially once I retired from the sport then I basically was just able to do whatever I wanted and found success in that like so you know through acting and performing in that aspect and not being compared inside of you is brought to you by uncommon apothecary. The carry I love these guys. I've talked about him forever. I tell my physical therapists that this is what they should use. I love this I get relief from it period and I I know you will to.
