"Southern tip and it is therefore outside of the carrot top elation and they carried to rule sir and was definitely launched the enough time when there was as in general carrot included. Where very different. So it was very disruptive back then it was the first itani rosaiah with the that call or and that vertical profile file a very very fresh. Very very straighter and And there was a success. And then i like to believe started processor. Were manny up relations including a stock to do their wines. Index tie low which definitely was and is more welcomed in very important markets around the world starting from to suck sauna markets. Okay but coming to the end of our time. "In other words, If you say you have a doctrine that you agree with, And then there's a caller that comes in and says, Why have information from somewhere else? Well, you don't agree with their source of where they got that information. Then all of a sudden, it's misinformation. I don't get that right now. We're going through in this country. As far as the coding and all of that stuff. There are many different opinions. There are many, many doctors. I have talked to many doctors, including It doesn't just talk to Dr Dalia, who's on our station just talked to her yesterday. That doesn't think that she does not think that the vaccine And or accurate enough or they're not all Can I ask you a question about her? Can I ask you a question about her Is she is she is infectious disease experts. No, she is not. But I have a buddy that's in charge of three hospitals overseas. And as far as the chief pharmacist, Katie, he goes. I'm the one that the doctors come to to ask me about side effects. They don't know the side effect from Z Pak let alone from all this Kobe Bryant. So all these let me just ask you something. If there's three vaccines that are out there, and there's immunity to all three of these countries, companies Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson, right, they're not liable for anything. And then you have people that are non stop getting the vaccinations so called first off, Look up the definition of vaccination. They're not vaccinations. They are like a flu shot. And people right now are basically guinea tapes. They are getting shots that they don't even know what's in the in the vaccine, actually, Okay, so I'll respond to that. So first of all my response to that is We're not guinea pigs. Um, 70% of the country has already received vaccination wrong. It's an accurate according to Who Is it inaccurate Doctor de Lyon to the doctor that came on CNN just the other day, said 52% and Peter Peter Hotez. Yeah, because there are many that have gotten the first shot that never went back for the second. Okay, so let's go with that for a moment. Let's say that the 52% numbers, right? We have half the country that is fully vaccinated. Uh, what's happened to all those people can All I know is there are Brian. There are seven people that me and my wife are directly connected to several people in seven, he said. 7 61 that have died after getting the vaccine within three months. That did not have any. So Let me ask you a question. Then in regards to that, and by the way you mentioned seven people. I'm talking about half the country, but that's okay. So let's talk about that people in our network. So let's talk about people that that he let that he and his wife no direct. So let's talk about that for a moment. Do you know their medical backgrounds and the doctors are Anything on the death certificate or the doctors or anybody confirmed. That they had their health complications and they died because of the vaccine. Or you just assuming that all I'm saying, is there right now, that is the commonality the only common denominator It's not what I asked vaccine. They all got the vaccine, and that's the That's the deal can. That's not what I asked you. Right? I'm just asking another words when I go. You're not answering my question. If I want to go down to the if I want to go down to the doctors today and go get a vaccine. Do I even know if I'm getting Pfizer Moderna or Johnson and Johnson? Or am I just So the answer there, Ken, And this is okay. So can the answer. There is 100%. That answer would be Yes, they tell you, which vaccine you get. I don't know where you're getting, Uh, information to the contrary, but going back to what I said. There's a reason why I asked you that question. When you tell me and by the way, I'm I'm sorry, and I'm sad to hear that you have people around you that have died. I think that's horrible. And my heart goes out to them and their families. But the point I'm making is You don't know, And I don't know why they died just because they got the vaccine. It's irresponsible on your part to make an assumption that they must have died because they've got the vaccine because there are a lot of people out there that die and some of those people got the vaccination. But I haven't seen any evidence that would point to. They died because they got the vaccination in Canada were diabetic or had underlying conditions that there's people that have died of covid that don't have any underlying conditions. 4% So the point I'm trying to say I'm sorry. Brian. Brian! Brian, You're Brian. You're pretty smart guy, right? There's an average of 25 million 2 75 million deaths in this country from the flu every year, the world in the world 20. There was only 1.7 million. So first of all, it's not. It's not 25 to 75 million deaths in this country, the world from cover that is extremely inaccurate. Flu. Uh, I think it's somewhere around 60,000 people. Now I can give you the explanation to that as well. Which is which is this? And by the way, this isn't my opinion. Uh, the doctors and the nurses and the people that I get some of them who actually have been on this show. This is where I get my information from and what they tell me about that is very simple. First of all a lot of the people that would have normally contracted the flu over the course of the last year and a half didn't instead they got covid. That's number one. Those people, some of those people that didn't get the flu. Partially because of the social distancing the mask wearing the mandates. That is why the flu numbers were so low this year. Now that's not my opinion. That's according to pretty much every infectious disease expert that I've spoken to, and I think most of you spoken to Bronx. I heard one on your show. Give me the name. You want to give me the name of everything that you're sure? Okay. Sure. Sure. So, uh, while I don't recall every okay, so hopefully JD will let me answer. Okay. So other than the guy you had on the show last week? Sure. So do you recall with Doctor? What's his name? Martin. What's his name? Bad with names, names? Well, we had a couple We had the infection experts we've had Brian labels on the show was another one. Doctor Itani. Brian, That's it. And what about the other doctor? Mark, the guy who runs the hospital that's been in studio. He's not an infection. Disease expert. He's the CMO of Southern Hills, right. So he runs Southern Hills Hospital. Brian, this is something Brian Labs is an infectious disease expert. With decades of experience. I talked to him on a regular basis. As I mentioned we also had the infectious disease expert in studio and also say when I was in the hospital, Ken when you texted me when I was in the hospital for two weeks, I spoke to several infectious disease experts at Summerland Hospital. I could probably get them the names if you really need the names. No, no, no, no. You know what? But you act like you're talking to all these infectious disease. The country look, and they're not right here in Las Vegas difference in opinions. Between a lot of medical workers and doctors right now, that's true. The country. The medical workers have not been vaccinated, Brian Okay, so half of it, Okay, so hold on. Let me just give another That's not true. Uh, okay. The media that reading can you can always do you can I don't know what you can. Brian. I love talk. "I wouldn't want to be president. Name robert thinking differently forever. I liked the directive. Nece because kaelin can probably attest to this. I have gift anxiety. So i never know like my spending too much i spend not in you know destroy things. I kind of liked that. It's like very specific. Dollar amounts four hundred dollars per person. That's a very high end wedding. Let you also gotta think like. She's gotta be if she's like that her friends you know what i'm saying like she's got to have that same circle of friends or people that you're invited to this wedding have to be on that level. You know what i'm saying. Well here's the other thing. You're you're getting married and the only gifts to people can give and i don't know if she's marrying a man or woman or whether the only gift i can give her purses for you and gift cards for you and all the rest of this stuff i mean tha. That's what i wonder for people who have done this. I know you have Rubio you've done a registry before eight five five five nine one three five eight. Get ahold of us. how do you. You can't possibly wind up scanning everything that you see that you really want like. You've got my mom for example things that giving your friends. Money is rude cheat. She will never show write a check for graduation. She'll write a check for that's about it. A graduation caused school graduation. But she will not give. She won't give her friends. Who are getting married. Or wouldn't i guess. And i already had my own house and i already have my own toaster. You know what i really need is money to offset the cost of this wedding. Which shouldn't necessarily be your logic Opinion not that. I don't think you should plan. No one. I don't think in here but you shouldn't plan your wedding in my opinion based on how much you think you're going to get back. I think you should plan your wedding based on what you want. What do you want your wedding. What can you afford to you. Because i i hear people go well. I bet that wedding was two hundred bucks a plate. So i gotta give to. Everyone needs to get two hundred bucks. We could pay for the wedding. It's like well okay. But how about you do the wedding that you wanna do. Everybody accepts the fact that it's either super boucher for intimate or super. Whatever it is and the money is what you know you decide to do whether it's put it towards a house or or go on vacation or whatever it is. I hate the idea that i'm paying for myself to go. It's like no. This is a gift like you should be using this for something else is that you know what i mean. Honeymoon for sure Anyway now just give money. Because i mean that's what i would want. I don't need. I don't need another second place. I already had the by place when you go to win. My sister got married. I gave her Airline gift card so she could buy flight to wherever it makes sense that makes sense Elissa hi hi good morning so this is your wedding registry. We're talking about for you okay. And and so this woman put live on bags and basically a four hundred dollar minimum on everything and it was all gift cards and leave itani gucci and the rest of it. I mean how do you determine you gotta have some discipline on this thing rice. You don't come off a certain kind of way. I would absolutely never. I was saying I put all the stuff on my registry and my mother-in-law. Look she's like you're not have enough expensive stuff on here like any up. And i was like okay. Bye adding like a four length mirrors from korean barrel like five hundred dollars. My mom called me within the date and she was like ridiculous gonna spend five hundred dollars and mural the on thing it's hard though because he'll you're not if you put it on there it doesn't mean somebody has to buy it But it also. What are you saying to your friends if you put a five hundred dollar item on there. You're saying go in on it together sometimes with my friends. Yeah no. that's true mirror from a couple of people. I would be offended if there were a louis vuitton bag on someone's registry and it's like really ideas actually if i ever get my main i i don't guess is the venue. Is your wedding. The time to cash in on you know wallets and purses and watches and You know gift cards to gucci. I don't know. I guess that'd be like wait a minute you get married for the hall or you're getting married like to start your life with another person or whatever millionaire's that's what i'm saying. It depends on who their friends. Let me say something. I if if all my friends are they're not look there's no registry. They're not looking at. If i come on you think like bill gates and all those people have registries. No people just give him fifty million dollars their foundation or whatever like there's no they're not going on their target. What offspring for the whole set of plates. No they're just buying them the company that makes the place. Here's a share the company. Yeah no one pill one rich. They're hiring some gift giver to go out and scout some amazing handmade thing. Thank you have a good day is imminent over thinker. But this is something i would think about. I would think about each item and like what is someone. How am i going to be judged for this item to sometimes. I do look at registries and go. That's really like you want that bad taste. Rob hi rodney. Got married six years ago six years ago. How'd you do the registry registry absolutely ridiculous. We tried keeping long for the most part up to go five bucks. We weren't living together yet. Gotten engaged and all that stuff to the house. Yeah we all that the highest break thing next on my name. i also. that's cool. Like i like the idea that like one fun item for each person on. I mean you put whatever you want on there like. I thought that was cool. Like don't know people will put it an xbox playstation or. I dunno some fun item. That's frank ahead. But if it's handbags i'm going how many how many gucci handbag get this deal Thank you rob a good day. jessica jessica. good morning what are you. So this isn't necessarily about what registries if but more about like gender i was just the bright laid for my best friend's wedding. It was a destination wedding got cancelled because of covert. That's fine here for you out here do all that But as talking we're like oh my god women especially bright made not only pay for the right but also the wedding guests Like it again. Don't forget bachelor party a gift for the bachelorette lingerie i did this time five. Last year she was two years ago. She was like it. Everybody's got a star. You know selling items of my own probably gift from your own closet. Yeah i need a registered bridesmaids. Dresses side hustle. You guys get a registry like men. Don't hey into the registered. Our no. that's true. That's i guess that's another point to the registry. Is you give that gift. If you're not attending the wedding. I suppose but i think also still spent money sent money if i even if i wasn't going to suffer through showers too i think i had a i had depends on the circumstance and it also depends on the person like i. I guess i have a harder time. Spit sending cash to someone. I know already has money but usually the people i know who have big dough. They like they don't they wouldn't ask. It's like a charity give or it's donate towards Our honeymoon it's not send us checks. I guess it just depends on where you are in your life. And i think you also gotta read the room right jessica like if you if everyone's twenty and see where they don't have any cash and have any money you can't expect them to be buying you know high price items.

"Zero two seven five one six two eight eight four number. It is still to nothing in to the top of a fifth. We go here. The cardinals leading the tigers. No score royals and the astros not score game one of the double header between the rockies and the cubs too outs in the bottom of the first inning for chicago. So if you bet no runs in the first inning for the royals and the astros that hit and we're looking like we're gonna hit no in the first inning ron's for the cubs in the rockies. Here as rockiest tried to improve that horrific road record that they've got now tonight. There are a couple of games. I've been eyeball and here tonight and the only game. I've got action on right now on the tigers money line at plus one thirty the live money lines plus to ninety so much better number than i got. I got plus two plus one thirty pregame but looking at show a tiny up against the baltimore orioles today. This is disgusting. Okay so the money line is minus two twenty. The run line eighteen of the nineteen losses for the baltimore. Orioles during this horrific losing streak have come on the run line including last night where they lose by more than one run. You have to lay minus one forty six to get in on this with the angels and the orioles that is gross. No usually you'd be getting plus money on both games. You're getting plus money now. The other game. I've been looking at closely so itani i've been hitting these two leg money line parlays. They hit another one last night. With the angels and the red sox so tampa. You can bet to interesting games today. One would be show a tiny minus two twenty on the money. Line for the angels to give the orioles their twentieth consecutive loss. I don't think that's crazy to bet on that. Because the orioles are basically a triple a team and they just don't have any talents. I mean they. They scored about your yesterday because the angels were basically throwing batting practice late in the game and they didn't care to gave up eight runs in their game but they don't have pitching. That's really gonna worry anybody. Chris ellis goes to the mound. Who looks like it's going to be an opener for them. Appears to be a reliever. Although he pitched acquired either was cut or acquired by pitch for the royals. Last time out back on the seventeenth against the orioles of all things for the royals pitcher. Actually pretty well. four innings. Three hits no runs seven case in four innings and a ten. Nothing win for the royals over the orioles but on the you can really gauge all that much. Show a tiny going. I mean a tiny just as mvp students going to do at the mount. He's just incredible. You know whether you're pitching or hitting the do absolutely psychotics backing the angels here. In a tiny by the way everyone else but shohei ohtani had a big game and a really big game yesterday. Not not shohei. He was one for four with with the single it so you might think it's time for him to have really big game coming up here tonight. He could have a monster game at the plate and pitching for him tonight and so we'll watch and see how how that goes. But i think you know trying to find a to like moneyline partly i think jumping in and grabbing onto the to the angels over. The orioles is not crazy now. The raise up against the phillies is interesting. So zack wheeler has been really good. This year he could win the cy young award in the national league but the raise offense is on fire. And i don't know if you can really fade tampa right now. They won last night on the road against philadelphia. And they're throwing your borough and ryan yarborough not horrible lefty up against this team up against the phillies on the road. Far three no the rays have yet to lose against the phillies five. Three six to three one. They've won all the games on the run line. Like if you want to get really squirrelly tonight and you wanna cut push your luck you could go raise plus one and a half or well. Let's see something you could just go money line. Go raise money line in a sorry angels laying one and a half on the run line. That's my is one forty six and plus one twenty two at faneuil. That's a plus to seventy four to three to one return. Basically on that too leg. Moneyline parlay i try to get at least plus one ten or higher on these two leg. Money line parlays and unfortunately for the books. They're just getting crushed by people doing this. And if you wanna get really nasty and you want to start to throw in. I mean you go ahead and take the dodgers on the road against the padres. You've got snell coming up here today. You can throw that mayes one forty eight that three-legged parlay comes into a five to one return now at five twenty six and you want to get really nasty. Take the giants in johnny cueto up against walker in the mets. It's a plus one. Oh six money line bet. That's a plus eleven ninety one parlay. That's a leg parlay at plus one nine plus eleven hundred plus twelve hundred twelve to one basically return on this. Now i'm not recommending. You do this consistently. I'm not saying bet parlays okay. Betting pilates is losing. I'm not recommending it. I don't like people who do it but right now in baseball. This is the one time. I parlay fights all the time because you can. Some of the fights are pretty predictable in some of the fights. The odds are so you laying minus two twenty on the angels. Tonight is not fun like i. I would not recommend doing that. Because even if you're flat wagering i mean you're going to be nothing at minus twenty so you've got that going on so minus two twenty angels orioles and then you go into a situation where you're going well. Is it more likely than not if the angels win the win on the run line and like i mentioned eighteen of the nineteen losses of come on the run line. So that's not a bad idea. Jump in but you're still laying one forty-six juice on that. It's pretty expensive. So just the money line win for the raise up against wheeler that's your plus money at plus one twenty two but raise again or undefeated against the phillies this year in their playing really well and they know the yankees are steaming up. You know breathing down their neck right now with the yankees who have won eleven straight games so the rays have to keep pace and keep their lead so they really need to win against these nationally. Teams. that are not very good. So you got logic going in with yarborough against wheeler and taking raise on the money line giants have just been dominating over the mets and the giant just dominate period. Him the giants are just one of the best teams in major league baseball. If not the best team in major league baseball and so far against the mets they're three and one and the they've won every game. What now every game they have. They won seven five three two two eight nothing. They lost six two. When did they lose that game. Six two couple of days ago and so that was that was that was last on the eighteenth of was a week ago on the of august. They lost its in twelve innings. They lost six two so it took extra innings to beat them. And i mean to come back with the giants to beat walker in the mets yup. Very possible. I mean thirty nine and twenty five on the road for the giants you get plus money on that bet as well at plus one zero to plus six on that fan and then the dodgers have just been a machine the dodgers and the yankees that to leg money line parlay. You can't bet the the yankees today. But that's been the bet. I mean it's just been consistent over and over and over again just betting money lying yankees money lying dodgers and its cashing it's cashing over and over and over again because these two teams have just been so darn hot. And now you've got blake snell who has been a complete disappointment for the dodgers. Sorry for the padres. Even with the padres lead the series seven two four. The two teams are going in very different directions. I got a bunch of games left to go but dodgers right now should take care of business here with the way. These teams are playing.

We've got no home improvement skills and don't know what to do about it. What are we going to do? You're looking to me again. You're one of those guys that can't make a fist. That's it? Yeah. Okay, Danny. After that, we'll talk about not blocking events. But we're not going to tell you what, Vince, they are and we're not going to tell you. Why. Until later. Well, I will only say this earlier in the week. Monks, Itani filled saw his shadow. Yes, that's what I've been doing that by the way about 135 years or something like that they were the big top hat. That's the oldest ground hog I've ever seen. Yeah, Different ground hog, but Since you seen his shadow. That means six more weeks of winter, and I think what we have to share with you about ventilation will be particularly Interesting. Yes, Yes. Because ventilation is something that changes seasonally but is always important. This indeed. All right. 8007372474 the number to the phones we go. And Patty. Hey, yo, Patty. How you how you doing? Doing Okay? How you guys doing? Well, complain. How's the new year treating you fatty? Well, I don't know yet. I'm kind of like missing part of last year. I won't tell you. Which part, but but we know part. Yes, we were members of that club. Yes, boy, right? Well, this is this is bound to be a bit well, hope so I hope so. I pushed on the covered part. Yeah, Yes, indeed. Coming. Hopefully, Yes. I'm not gonna matter. I'm not gonna say it can't get worse. But I'd like to believe it would be a lot better real soon. I like that. Good attitude. I've had my vaccination. No good. No good for you. Yeah, And I'm going to get a second one in 3.5 weeks. I had my shot to the mine was wild. Very minute. Yeah. Wait, Patty, Come on. What's on your mind? This is your time, not ours. I had my shot last January when I got it. So I think I've got Yeah. I lost my smell and taste. I'm pretty sure I've got the antibody. Least knock on wood. Good from the window. Get Maxine. Good for you before they even knew the symptoms when they came out with him are like Oh, yeah, That's what I had. Wow, You're not the first person that we've spoken with. Who has said that? Yeah, he sure my neighbors had it too. So here's the deal, guys. I'm in a manufactured home here in California. My bathroom is just gigantic master bathroom crazy, but it's got an upgraded mirror above the 7 FT. Vanity, which is in 7 Ft Mirror. So when my light has been and I first moved in here, what did we know about homeownership? Nothing. So he's outside the bathroom while pounding on little loose nails, you know, and I'm like Well, you're making a lot of noise, not even taking about the mirror that's behind there and not realizing Basically, these homes have, like what quarter inch thick walls. So sure enough, there's a crack and it goes from that time to know that crack has traveled. Okay, so the mirror the cracks start to 29 a half inches in from the left side and arches up and then back over to the left. Arches over that 29 a half inches tall, So I got a big chunk of mirror that's cracked, and it's now I think they glued everything to the wall. You and they glue everything in these homes, so I've had an estimate of $700 to replace the mirror, which I think where you located. We'll be right there. Yeah, Okay. Come on over. So So My question, of course, is safety first. Is there any reason to be concerned about the mirror? Falling off the wall either fully or in part. Well, if we have a 7.0, it's the epicenter right here. I'm pretty sure it will. You know, what would you like you like to do, Patty? Well, I'd like to kind of camouflage it right now. If I can, and then try still toe get it replaced because I liked him in that big mirror in there brings in more light. And it's kind of fun. Of course, I'd really like to remodel the entire bathroom, but that's just not gonna happen right now, so that that that would be the ultimate goal. So what do you suggest? Someone suggested? Like decals? I was thinking of painting a rainbow because it's almost you know, an arch like rain bottle or a waterfall. I don't know. Right now. I got kind of a big plant. You know, in front of it. That's right. Distracts from right. Gosh, I think either the plant Or a rainbow or something to that effect or some decals would be fine. What kind of I don't know why you couldn't do that when the mirror is installed? They probably put on a 7 Ft mirror, You know. Six dabs of glue across the top six across the middle and six across the bottom. Or something like that. And then they pressed in yousa paneling and he sieve or a sub florid, he sieve. And they just push the mirror against the adhesive and, uh, that keeps it in place, So everything's probably going to stay there and in earthquake isn't gonna be any worse for won't be any worse for wear, even with an earthquake. I think your idea of decals or painting or and or plant or all good. And we have another suggestion for you. We're gonna take a brief commercial break. We asked you to stay with us. See if we can I will get a fly in the ointment. And give you plenty to scratch your head about Patty. Okay, Tell me where to find the details. What kind of leak out, Okay, Daddy's on the line with the cracked mirror. Our numbers. 807 372474 got no home improvement skills. No problem. Stay tuned,.

"Greatest and then the alarm goes off and you look out and there's nothing and you are so bad at that weather person because you feel like you're betrayed. Talk about being on the other side of that, like, how nervous do you get? Because you're in a profession where you make predictions, and if the predictions are wrong There's no like fudging it right. People can tell. They literally look out the window in some cases. It's tough, and I will say many times, I will tell the camera. Don't be mean to your local forecasters because I do the national weather. Right? So I I, you know, Listen, I only got interesting. Wrong. Yeah, broad, But, you know, I'll give you a forecast of DC and Philadelphia and New York and then Boston, and we did pretty well, like relatively speaking, But we got Boston wrong. Boston like maybe got four inches and we were predicting, you know, over a foot for Boston on D C was a bit of a bus, too. Although you say that you got about seven inches where You are, Um, but the bottom line is it's really tough and that whole thing of it. It's not an exact science. There is something to that. I mean, you're looking at different layers of the atmosphere you are looking at where the low sets up and who you can't predict where the heaviest fans are gonna come in. And then if you get the trajectory just off by, like 10, Miles, you know, that means somebody doesn't get something, whereas The other person gets a whole lot. So it really I mean, the forecasting is getting better. Um, but still, you know, that's why you see these big discrepancies like you know, anywhere from three inches too. 15 inches, You know, like it Just, unfortunately, not right. I think we did pretty well with this one. With exception to a couple of, you know, a couple of areas where we kind of hit the jackpot. Um, but, yeah, You just have to be a little bit forgiving. There have been many times so I mean, no, not not a whole lot. But enough time for someone you know, Well forecast the snow and then the next morning, I'll get an email saying Yeah, thanks for giving me that. Partly sunny to shovel this morning E mean fair, tough but fair. So, Janice, if we're not able to fully trust because of what you just described local meteorologists cause it's so difficult. How much trust should we place in, for example, a rodent? Named Phil because I feel like every year we get headlines about ground. Hog Day is today. Ground today. Was it yesterday today? Today's today, Okay, Grant. Hog Day is today It's not the Bill Murray movie. It's It's the tradition Where apparently this this ground hog comes out and they Something about a shadow. And then we can say Oh, there's going to be an early spring or we're gonna be in winter for more weeks or whatever. I know that you've attended this ceremony a couple times. Is there a track record here at Park's attorney fills? Yes and no like, Is he accurate? Or is it just As I would imagine, since it's fake, totally inaccurate. It's fake years. Are you saying this is fake weather guy? I'm saying this is a big fake news event every year. It's magical. You have you been No, Don't judge until you've been okay. Please. It's pretty amazing. I will say it. It's up there with, you know, going to the Kentucky Derby for me? Because it listen. It's one of its one of our oldest traditions in 18 86. I believe we've been we've been doing ground hog day. This taught, you know, small town of punks, Itani, Pennsylvania, where you know they're tourism dollars. Come on this day. Unfortunately, not today. Not this year because of Cove it they did it virtually, but it's really magical people, You know that I've been there twice. Yes, And I stayed in these, You know, in a residence, you know home because there aren't a lot of hotels in the area. It really is like Bill Murray Ground Hog day. I mean the town really? Okay, Stop it three, and you're kind of showing me that it's kind of charming, Charming and cute, but is it Valuable in any way, shape or form in predicting The weather months in the future. I think it's worse than a coin. Thomas. That sounds right gets it like 39% of the time, but they tell me within their inner circle because they have, like, you know, they have Phil's handlers that are around him all the time. I think he lives in the library with his wife. You can't forget his wife's name that the ground hog But, uh Yeah, so, but they will say to you that still gets it right 100% of the time. It's lost in the translation between the ground Huggies, which is an actual language, Apparently that the ground hug speaks so the ground hug will tell the for the one of his inner circle people what he predicts. And it's because they get the prediction wrong because of the translation. I thought there was a shadow. Wasn't it? A shadow? Well, that's no so apparently, the ground hog knows whether or not he saw his shadow, and that's what held his handlers. I mean it Z reasonable, I think for me to say that If someone awoke from a coma, having no knowledge of this tradition, you explain this. And then they say, Well, those people are definitely mentally disturbed, right? Like where these people should be institutionalized. Like. Well, No. There's this special magic around fill every year for ground hog day, And so what was the verdict today? Did did Phil, get us? Now bad news, but I mean there's no way because actually two years or we hang on bad news meeting those like the longer winter. Yeah, So unless you like long winters and more snow than that's good news, your right eye or here's another way of looking at it. I mean, if he's wrong 60% of the time that it's good news right? Because if he predicted if he predicted a longer winter, that means it's going to be an early spring. I've never thought of it that way guy, but that that's a glass half full right there. I'm sort of trying to stay mostly sunny Janice, especially interviews without making my own sunshine. If you will. With this potentially bad news from the ground Hog Last topic briefly, Janice, you've been on the show recently, mostly talk about this political situation in New York and Governor Cuomo and the nursing home deaths. It's actually sort of refreshing to have you want to talk about. Weather. That's your main job is our senior meteorologist and Fox News, However, just within the last week or so, there have been a couple pretty brutal stories for Governor Cuomo in The New York Times about the nursing home scandal covering up deaths. His botching of the initial vaccine rollout micromanaging. It's sidelining experts and just in the next minute or so that we have remaining in the segment. "You be sued for a slippery sidewalk? The old adage is yes. You've got to get out there and take care of the sidewalk. Last You get sued. Let's welcome Petty went Lee. Pardon me, Patty Back to double downs. How are you? Great. Well, thanks for joining me. I'm sorry. Mispronounced. Your name is sorry about that. It happens all the time. Well, I know you just probably changed the spelling of your last saying, I know. You know, at this point, I'll tell my dad you know, Or maybe I just learned how to pronounce the names correctly. So I saw this. I saw this on channel 11. The fact that the old adage is and I like the fact that you guys every year get into dibs every year whether dibs are legal there, of course, are not legal. We just overlook it here in Chicago. And also do we have to get out and shovel those sidewalks. So what is the verdict? Can I get sued down to brass tacks, if in fact I don't get out and shovel the sidewalk. Well, The interesting thing is the myth is that you can be sued. If you do shovel your sidewalk and someone slips on it. That's why that's an excuse that a lot of people have used over the years to not shovel. They say if I do shovel and I leave a little bit and somebody slip, they consume me. That's the missus. It's been going around, and that's Absolutely not true. And you, you shovel. Somebody hurts themselves. They can't do you. Um It's also not true that if you don't shovel they consume you. Because the fact is you didn't put the snow there. Don't you have a don't you have Ah, Visitors statue is there in ordinance in the city of Chicago? The In fact you're responsible, clear that public thoroughfare in between the boundaries of your property. Yes. The municipal code does say that you're responsible for clearing a path and it should be 5 ft wide, which a lot of people also don't do. They cleared like one footstep. Why, um, but the most that you can do that can be done to you. Really? For that is a fine that ranges from like 62 500 bucks. Um, that's not really enforced all that much. I know a lot of folks might contact their alderman. They might, you know, call 311. If you complain a lot about a repeat offender. You might be able to get the city to slap them with a fine, but a lot of times the city will maybe do a warning or two or three when they get out to a property so Kind of, you know. What did they say? Six half of half a dozen. You know, so heady, Petty Webley is here. She's a writer, a channel 11 wttw. So in other words, you're supposed to shovel your walk. And if you're really an egregious offender than the city Mayor may not come after you and they'll find you but If somebody falls because I haven't shoveled. There's really no legal recourse. And if somebody falls because I've shoveled, and now it's a sheet of ice. There's no legal recourse either. Both of those are miss and you have been a myth, Buster. Try. I'm a mythbuster, but not a lawyer. So, you know People should consult with their lawyers for you know, I never I never lived. Yeah, I never lived in a real neighborhood in Chicago. I always looked on high rises. And I guess I did live in both bellman Sheridan, but I didn't take care of the walk. The landlord did. You know, house, but that being said, I wonder what percentage ballpark You know what the percentages Chicagoans is, who actually, really, honestly do do their civic duty and take care of their their their sidewalks in a in a pretty decent manner. I wonder if it's 50%. If its way Last service see even more? I don't know. How neighborly of a city Chicago would be. I mean, I'm up in Lincoln Square. And, um I would say we're well over 50% here. I think a lot of people take pride in being very neighborly and shoveling their sidewalks. I saw so many people out On Sunday shoveling, and I mean, I live in a condo building that takes up it. Zahn a corner. We have a lot of sidewalk and we always have it cleared down to the pavement. Um, so I think it just depends kind of neighborhood by neighborhood. I think some of the problems are some of you know, you've got tickets storefront that were there. That's where they're going to be some issues that not getting shoveled. Um honestly, some of the worst offenders can be Um, Parks, Properties. Um, the post office sometimes not so great. You'll see a lot of strip malls. They make sure the parking lots or shovel but not the sidewalk. So But I feel like neighbors being neighborly are some of the better shovelers. It really is. It really is important. Petty. A Webley is here from Channel 11, speaking of ah, storefronts that are now boarded up. Lincoln Square. I used to go with my wife there every holiday season Christmas season because she loved to shop and little apothecary. There was there for over 100 years Now I think that I think he retired. I think that's close. But is that bookstore there was still there still thriving. They've actually expanded. Good depositary still there. But that German restaurant went out. Unfortunately, They did, Unfortunately, and the property has been purchased by Northwestern for medical offices on but they're keeping the facade. Kind of help, Woz, But, yeah, no more Brown house, Which is? Are they? Are they keeping the boom pop pop band in the lobby? No, no, they're not. Unfortunately, that was a great place. That was a great place. And there's a terrific book store in Lincoln Square, too. And I hope there's stone business. They are very much there. You can, actually if you want, make a private appointment and have this shop fault here itself right now. I'm in. A lot of folks in the neighborhood have been doing a great job in ordering their books from there throughout the pandemic, But yeah, it's been. It's been rough for the bookseller. People are doing their best to make sure that some of these small businesses survive because they're very important to this neighborhood. Over there a channel 11 a patty went Li How did you draw the short straw and have to cover the two ground hogs today? What I actually have the urban nature be and so quitters kind of fall critters and weather kind of fall under what I cover, so That was me this morning Sport one. It was a split decision between fill in Pennsylvania and Woodstock, Willie here in Illinois, just a split decision. Yeah. Uh, Hans Itani. He saw his shadow, which means six more weeks of winter or more winter would stop. Willie didn't see the shadow, which Allegedly means in early spring. Um, I don't know. Willie doesn't have that much experience as still does so natural who we want to trust? How lucky is it? That how lucky is that? That Woodstock was the scene for filming that Bill Murray movie? They're they're super lucky. I actually followed that the whole trajectory that they've had in sort of starting up this tradition, and it really has mushroomed over the years. The last day 20 years or so for them. I wonder what the really near the thing ballpark revenue for the last 20 years. Based on that movie is for The little Village of Woodstock. National Mole Day with Andrew Geary

"Hi Paul this is Andrew in today is National Day. Now my first thought this day is in honor of Pucks Itani Phil, but then are moles and ground hogs, the same underground inhabitant. Or could it be honoring one of the greatest land air battles of all time went to bias the mole attack tiny town in Rocketeer George Michael saved the day on arrested development. Now. I know Netflix puts it Tada on everything but did they also put their stamp on National Day? I look forward to you sending me straight Paul. I Fan true according to the Internet malls in groundhogs are often lumped together in discussions regarding wildlife problems that result in turn up damaged landscaping. This is because they both utilized tunnel systems and caused damage to plants, roots, and beautiful lawns but that is where the similarity ends, but I severely digress. Today. October twenty third is national. Mall Day which has nothing to do with furry creatures. Today's all about chemistry specifically avocados number, which is the number of particles in one mole of substance the numbers approximately six point zero, two times ten to the twenty third. Get it ten, twenty, three. If you WANNA learn how to celebrate this day. Look no further than the lab out loud podcast were in one episode they discuss mold day and how they have celebrated it. You could also research Amadeo Gaudreau and put out a social media post using the National Mall. Day, Hashtag. My guest today is Andrew. Geary. Andrew is the host of the seismic sound all podcast now prepare yourself for a second seismic sound off episodes our in depth conversations in applied geophysics intimidated yet. Luckily, for you, I asked Andrew. Where someone like me who try to cheat his way through high school science classes could start. He wrote back the following and I quote our episodes tend to range from various associations, specific highlighting our annual conference to broad scientific subjects, addressing racism and geosciences. But the best place generally to start is our episodes focused on humanitarian projects we manage here is one looking at building a canal Peru that's a good start. Unquote. For Third Recommendation Andrew Sticks with science and recommends an episode from the Your Day podcast called what whales on nine eleven. While many of us reeling from the terrorist attacks in the United States something very unique was happening underwater. For today's extra all's I'll let you decide if you would prefer watching Netflix's with Andrew or May. We, have had A. Exchange about the German show dark. I loved it but punted few episodes into season three because it was just too confusing. Andrew has tried to me to keep going but remember his brain works a lot better than mine. But one thing should be said, it seems we both are big fans of the blue family. Come back on October thirtieth for maybe one of the most divisive pieces of candy ever.

Elite Soldiers Testing Lockheed Martin ONYX Exoskeleton

"The lucky Morton onyx powered lower body Exo skeleton can increase mobility and reduce fatigue of its users. Onyx detects what the body is doing and provide support all at the exact time. It's needed sensors distributed on the Xhosa Killington reports speed direction and angle of movement and an onboard computer that drives electro mechanical actuators the knees, all work synchronous Lee, the Exo skeleton delivers the right torque at the right time to assist knee flex and extension on IX. Sounds awesome. It ultimately reduces the energy needed to cross terrain squats, Neil. These benefits are most noticeable when ascending or descending stairs, or navigating inclined surfaces. Now onyx syncs up with its user. It takes about. Seventy five milliseconds for the human body to go from thought to action, speeding up on x will improve the impact on human endurance. Currently, it has improved endurance by nine percents and the powered system lasts for about sixteen hours when using four batteries, the onyx system weighs less than fourteen pounds. The current net benefit is a soldier who could normally perform twenty-six reps of hundred eighty five pound squats could get this performed seventy two similar reps while wearing this device. Lockheed is currently working on hardening the components so they can withstand battlefield use in proving the hardest thing. So it's even more discreet and unobtrusive and tweaking the fitting process to ensure that soldiers can properly adjust it without tools on x will soon use a common electro mechanical structure and control software, which will be customized for firefighting legit. Disticts and military road transport on is being upgraded to us military specification batteries that are approved for infantry use. A robotic third arm appears to be highly useful as well. The US army research laboratory is developing it. It weighs less than four pounds hangs at a soldier side and stabilizes rifles in the sheen guns. It lifts over twenty seven pounds all on its own no word on when we will see this technology, but it sounds like we won't have to wait too long. Think you have good coordination, you're probably not as agile as MIT's. Cheetah three robot in a new video MIT demonstrates how the ninety pound robot, which is about the size of a full grown labrador. Dog can climb a flight of stairs. Littered with obstacles like roles of tapered wooden blocks while blind cheetah. Three can also Gallup jump spin around and walk on three legs. All without relying on cameras or external environmental sensors. There are many unexpected behaviors. The robots should be able to handle without relying too much on vision vision can be noisy, slightly inaccurate and sometimes not available. So researchers want the robot to rely more on tactile information that way it can Hindle unexpected obstacles while moving fast. The team developed two new algorithms which allow cheetah to blindly walkup clustered staircases gallop across rough terrain and quickly recover its balance after being pushed MIT researchers plan to show off the robots vision, free capabilities at the international conference on intelligent robots in Madrid, coming up in October, cheetah three is designed to carry out dangerous tasks like inspecting power plants or exploring disasters zones. There are countless occasions where we would want to send robots to do simple. Tasks instead of humans, dangerous dirty in difficult work can be done, much more safely through remote controlled robots than sending in real life person. One of the things that we learned from the DARPA robotics challenges that it's useful for robots to have legs to walk budgets, even more useful for robots to be versatile and adaptive with multi model locomotion capabilities that they can deploy depending on the situation at the DRC we saw all kinds of different designs. But one of the more unique approaches came from the university of Bonn in Germany with their robot. Memorial memorial used a Centaur design with four legs that had wheels on the bottom coupled to a humanoid upper torso with a head and arms. It was the top ranked European robot in the DRC, completing an almost perfect run in just thirty. Four minutes. We've since been wondering whether these Centaur designed would inspire other disaster robots, and now we have the answer and it's yes, a consortium of European research groups announced a new Centaur robot platform called appropriately enough sin taro the robot was built at the Italian institute of technology. That project is part of the sin taro consortium funded by the European Commission and coordinated by researchers from the university of Bonn. The same group that developed memorial, the goal of Santaro is building a human robot symbiotic system where human operator is tele- present with its whole body in a Centaur like robot, which is capable of robust locomotion and dexterous manipulation in the rough terrain and conditions, characteristic of disasters from the look of things. Sinn Tauro shares. The same kind of rugged capabilities. We've seen in other, I robots meaning that this could be a robot that manages to be both a research tool and real world useful at one point, five meters tall and weighing ninety three kilograms. Sin tarot is both larger and somehow more agile than the video might make. It seem it's made of lightweight, metals, like aluminum, magnesium and titanium with skins of three d. printed plastic inside are a trio of computers to Hindle perception control and motion planning along with enough batteries to keep Sinn Toro moving for two point five hours at a time. The idea is that this combination of quadrupeds and humanoid optimizes both stability and mobility while allowing a remote human operator too much more intuitively control the robots, arms and head since everything is oriented in a familiar way were looking. Forward to seeing more of house in taro integrates full tawny supervised Itani and Tele presence control with hardware. This capable l. the robot may be limited primarily by what it's smart enough to do along with the interface that lets human control it directly. Hopefully we'll start seeing more demos from IT to get a better sense of all the cool stuff that Sotaro will be learning. Got some spare time this weekend. Why not build yourself a working Rover from plants provided by NASA? The space Knicks at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory have all the plans code and materials for you to pursue end-use. Just make sure you've got an extra twenty five hundred bucks and a bit of engineering know how this thing isn't made out of Lincoln logs. The story is this after curiosity landed on Mars, GPO wanted to create something a little smaller and less complex than it could use for educational purposes. So they created rove from. e. That's what they're calling it anyway. Traveled with GPL staff throughout the country and showed off what it was capable of unsurprisingly. Among the many questions asked was often whether a class group could actually built one of their very own. The answer, unfortunately was no though. Oh far, less expensive and complex than a real Mars Rover. Roe v was still too expensive and complex to be a class project. So GPL engineers decided to go back to the drawing board and build one that was less expensive.
