"The last Seattle drives 61 yards on seven plays. It ends with a Russell Wilson. Nine yard touchdown pass to Gerald Everett is tight end extra point. Good Wilson on that drive, 44 for 48 yards and Chad. Mr Wilson. I think he likes this offense He's getting from Shane Waldron. Already two touchdown passes. Today, he looks smooth. At first drive. There was a bit of a rocky start is kind of an uneven drive. But since Then they've been really smooth. Offensively. That touchdown pass the locker was great. The plate is on touchdown pass the ever was tremendous Russell Wilson. I think it's beginning to feel confident after no action this preseason Kickoff. Isaiah Rogers at the 11 makes his way left to right across the 25 little slip there and then cuts across the 30 of the 32 Seahawks had to kick off from their own 20. Because of the unsportsmanlike called Penny Harden on the stop for Seattle. So now Carson Wentz with his third opportunity in the game. Take a look at once his stats so far. He is four or five for 33 hours, got sacked. The last time he dropped back to pass and he will work out of the gun line of scrimmage. The 32 yard line 11 16 to go in the first half. Now he shifts under center. Two receivers Far side left, one right play action fake once with time down the middle of the field, wide open Paris Campbell and he's got it at the 45 of Seattle. Good coverage in the secondary by one great digs, but not good enough Paris Campbell, who has had some injury issues. Just being on the field is a plus for him. What a great catch to the 44 of Seattle Seahawks linebackers bit up on the.

"Receivers to the left side of the Seahawks office. Those guys couldn't decide who was on the ball, who was supposed to be off the ball. A lot of conversation between those three receivers. DK meant capitalism wanted caught moving in that process. So now third nine, Seattle backed up to their 20 lock. It will come in motion far side left. There's three receivers on that side of the field for Russell Wilson. Let's see if the Colts bring some heat and they do with the blitz. Wilson out of the pockets Kentucky and run and he's got wide open spaces. To the 30 and slides for first out of the 31 yard line again of 11 and a first down last year. Chad Russell Wilson 513 yards rushing. And even at 10 years in the league, he Kentucky and run He may be the best in the league identifying open pass Rush lane getting through. It gets the first down, sliding down. They go, no huddle and quickly hand the ball off to Carson Stretch play far side left, and he takes it. Across the 35 36 yard line game of five were carry. Willis made the tackle for Indianapolis Colts defense that had 40 sacks a year ago and created 25 turnovers, including 15. Interception second out and five Seahawks got 3 23 to go. We're in the first quarter and Seattle trailing Indianapolis by a score of three to nothing. Is this something that Freddie Swain in the ball game number 18 set out wide left. Now he's going to come in motion near side right? They're going to give it the Carson. He tries to bounce it outside Left breaks a tackle Chris Carson with a strong run, just shy of the first down. He got him to the 40 yard line where Grover Stewart Made the stop. That's a pickup of four and we've got an injured colt down on the sideline. And that is Isaiah Rogers, one of the defensive backs for Indianapolis. 1st 3rd. They're missing roads out with a calf injury. Wilcox is a scratch today, and now Rogers has down We'll take a time out with 2 55 to.

"Yes, even at five and nine They're still in the playoff hunt in the NFC East. The Ravens have been very tough at home in the month of December, winning eight in a row, and I believe her 12 and two overall since 2018 so they have been in that standing team in the latter part of the season under John Har Blob. The Chiefs trying to cement the top seed in the A. F. C at 13 and one they are hosting the four in 10 Falcons today, while the seven and seven bears meeting the one and 13 Jaguars in Jacksonville, Me 3 10 and one Bangles coming off the wind last week in Houston today to take on the four and 10 Texans. Let's start things off with the best game of the day. The Steelers and cults in Pittsburgh. And here's Jeff Hawthorne. Yeah, get the matchup of two quarterbacks that have combined to throw for 123,000 yards and 812 touchdowns in their careers and Really back in 2004. Bill Cowher wanted Philip Rivers to be the Steelers quarterback. But it was Dan Rooney that wanted Ben Roethlisberger Rivers three and four in his career against the Steelers. If you're looking for a guy to watch for an X factor in this game could be the colt Isaiah Rogers. Averages. 28.8 on kickoff returns the Steelers air without their usual kicker Chris Boswell out with a groin injury. Matthew Wright does not have a strong leg. So if there are Kickoffs with feelings, which has been a question mark, you could see Roger's play. A factor in this game is the Steelers just got the opening kickoff. No score between the Steelers and Colt underway here in Pittsburgh, Jeff It's a shame you can't do what we did as a kid, you know, the instead of the kickoff, you have the throw off have been robbed the smoke over that. Exactly So okay, So there still is. Kicking game has some question marks entering today, and of course, it's never easy at Heinz Field. It's a tough place to kick even for the best of kickers. So one reason why over the years that Mike Tomlin is a skew the point after and gone for the two point conversion, so we'll see how that plays out is two good teams going at it today at Heinz Field, Let's head to met Life Stadium Mike Mancuso standing by the Browns, and she gets underway. I'll tell you what act. You must be doing a lot of reminiscing. Now you're talking about the row offs like we used to do growing up. What? We talked about your ability to play receiver. Remember? You know Seward Sewell was the first down when you put it on the street in Queens. Right anyway, we just had the opening kickoff and Cleveland now we'll set up their offense without all their wide receivers. 1st and 10 on their 35 yard line. Cleveland played well in this building last week as they beat the Giants and now looking to do the same for the Jets, who are looking to go for their second straight win. Baker Mayfield, on the first play of the game throws a short completion for a few yards. So Cleveland on offense, they have the ball the 40 yard line. We are scoreless here. MetLife Stadium. All right, Thank you very much. Michael. If I yell car, then we're really in trouble today. Adam's plane standing by in Houston, the Texans looking for win number five against the Bangles that I, Adam Enriched. The Texan start out with the football to Shawn Watson threw incomplete on the first play of the game, You said. You know, Texas looking for their fifth win. The Bangles are looking for their fourth win in the team that might be watching this game close more closer than anyone else. The Miami Dolphins because they owned the Texas first round pick, and it's possible that the Texans could jump the Bangles when it comes to first round pick order. So the Texans and Bangles are underway to Texans have a third and long on their first possession of the game. All right, thank you very much. Adam Spillane in Houston, So we've covered three games, three games. Also right now, the Chiefs and the Falcons, the Falcons moving the ball already. And the Chiefs territory just crossing midfield. So Matt Ryan and company trying to get something done here. Late in the season and re Morris started very well. But the Falcons have not been able to sustain that success. And I wonder how that's going to impact the coaching search whether or not you know if Marie Morris still seems favorable in the eyes of Arthur Blank, and whoever becomes the general manager, there is that's also a position they'll be needing to fill. But right now the Falcons across midfield on their opening drive Against the Kansas City Chiefs, Ravens and Giants are underway in Baltimore. And, of course, the Giants held Russell Wilson and check a couple of weeks ago and did a phenomenal job. It was not the same situation against Skylar Murray a week later at home, but Lamar Jackson has been terrific since returning from covert 19. And he is in control right now. The Ravens facing a second and seven at their own 38 yard line, so just a little more than two minutes in in Baltimore, the Ravens with the ball in their own end, going for win number 10 as they try to keep pace with the Browns and the Steelers in the A F. C North. So a completion just a second ago. And Miles Boykin on the receiving end, and he takes it for not only a first down but cross midfield so into Giants territory on their opening drive Thief Falcons first drive We told you about that handled left them in Kansas City territory that has come to an end as the chief's takeover at their own 13 yard lines. So, ah, tough way for a promising opening drive to end and right now the chief's take over for the first time. Jaguars and Bears are underway. Let's said the Brian Scheibel in Jacksonville. Yeah. The Jaguars just picked up the first down Mike Glennon out to Tyler Eifert for nine yards to move the chains. Dario gotten the lolly. Have been a couple of Russians so far. And this one. The Wisconsin product didn't start today because James Robinson eyes out with an ankle injury, so the star would be that the Jags have had over 1000 70 yards. On the season so far, eyes on the inactive list for today, so Jags loses a 13 strength taking on the Bears in this one, there's 12 in a row four. Chicago certainly want Robinson his first. Return to play against the Jaguars. He has over 1000 yards receiving in this one, but right now, early on, still no score Jags facing a 3rd 12 on their own 34 early first quarter. All right, thank you very much. Brian..

"That may not be perceived as one of those top three or four or five teams that we just talk to us. But it's a damn good football team, and it's kind of flying under the radar a little bit. Why do you think that is? Well, you know, I think the opening loss to Jacksonville and and you know, we talked about this before all good teams will have one game. They'll look back on and say, how in God's name did we lose that game? You know to me, At least one of those most teams will have to and then the mediocre teams will have three of those kinds of games. Okay, but that was it for Indianapolis. Now, you know, you look at their schedule, and they played some some good teams on the road. Cleveland's a good team. I wouldn't say a great team, but they lost on the road at Cleveland. They lost to Baltimore at home with a bad second half. The two games that really give you an indication as to where they are. Perhaps our Baltimore and Tennessee, they went to Tennessee and hammered the Titans on a Thursday night. The last time they played with a big second half, so this is a good team. It's a solid offensive team. It's not great. Offensively, they have a great quarterback at all on the offense. Defensively. O'Brien. They are fast. They're excellent at all three levels. They have playmakers in all three levels of defense, and I'll go so far as to say, the best defense I've seen prior to this one was Tampa Bay, but I think this 1 may be a little better than Tampa Bay. Wow, That's pretty high Praise. All right. Last thing for you, Wayne. This this kind of reared its head in the middle portion of the week. What do you make of this? Many few between Colts linebacker Darius Leonard and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Aaron said that Fred Warner was what he believed of the 40 Niners, the best linebacker in the league and various Leonard's taken exception to that. What, if anything, do you read on the impact that might happen in today's game? I think it's good bullets and board stuff. I think it's great for people like us to talk about. Once the game starts, I don't know how much of an impact it will have. If this is what Darius Leonard needs to get himself up for the game, then that's great. That's probably Hey, Michael. Jordan used to do that there, and Rogers does that They try to put a slight, you know, feel a slight from someone is that did get their juices going, Get ready and get up for the game. Various letters. An excellent player is. Is he as good or better than Fred Warner? Yeah, I don't know. I mean, they're both great. The two guys down and playing inside linebacker Tampa are great. You know, they could play anywhere. So I think you know, these two guys will compete hard. It'll be fun to watch. Interesting to watch. This is a great matchup because you have the Packers strength, their offense against the cold strength. Their defense. The difference in these teams is a colt also Excel in Bryant. They excel at special teams, and you know everybody to a man in Green Bay has said this week that this is the best special teams unit they have seen. Scheinman Angle was talking about that. They're fast. They physical um, you know, they have a return guy out of U Mass, You know, University of Massachusetts, the Great Commonwealth of Massachusetts, not Kentucky. Isaiah Rogers, who was you know, arguably the best kickoff return man of the league. In his rookie season. He's averaging almost 30 yards of return. Second of league had a 101 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Against Cleveland Packer's going to need to bring it on special teams to hang in this game. Yeah, That was gonna be an emphasis regardless because of what he and Cole did Tomo for Jacksonville last Sunday. After you. We all saw it live and in person way. Thank you, for the time is always we appreciate it. Have a happy Thanksgiving in a great call. Today. We'll catch up with you ahead of next Sunday night's game against the Bears. Sounds good, Brian, have a good week. There you go. That is weighing larvae. He will be on the call of Packers Cold Set 3 25 this afternoon, Right here on WTMJ coming up next on opening drive. "It's not just strong, It's strong, strong. All right, so six plays 67 yards. Three minutes in 10 seconds, Tannehill with his 20th touchdown pass of the year to Foreman, probably the least likely of anybody out there, toe get a touchdown reception from Ryan Tannehill, but they had to really good grabs. A J. Brown on Davis to set up that touchdown. I mean, everything was working there. You talk about efficiency by that tights offense, and this is against the top defense in the NFL. In total yardage, and you would not have known that and only one carry by Derek and the rest of it was all Candy Hill. We talked about how well he has been playing since he took over the starting job last year. And true to form Titan. What? Everyone is thinking about their carry. Derrick Henry there can we gotta stop them. They drop the extra safety in the box. We're doing everything that sellout really touches the one time I thought Derrick Henry, Derrick Henry Derek Kettering. In fact, that was on a local radio station today, and I said, Well, that's the key to the game. Well, Mike he was the stop. Derek can I guess? Technically, they did know. All right, Isaiah Rogers back teeth to receive for the Colts to our Rikers Kowski. Will tee it up at the 35 yard line and kicks off from left to right roads will let this one go about five yards deep to the near side takes a knee. So here comes Philip Rivers. 38 years old. His second team. I never thought he'd play for anybody else out of the Chargers, and he has been able to kind of stabilize this offense, but this offense certainly relies on its defense. Well. And a lot of people in critical Philip Rivers that you know he's aging. Maybe the arm strength isn't there and you can see signs of that. But I might argue. It's not like he has a ton of weapons, either. You know, T y Hilton has been up and down with injuries coming back after missing last week with a groin injury. And they don't have. They're not very explosive at the wide receiver position right now. Empty backfield. Jonathan Taylor in motion now joins Rivers in the backfield, the work from the shotgun. He does that most of the night late clock down to five. It's 1st and 10 from the 25 Titans showing blitz. They pull it back. He dumps it off the tailor to the left side. He stumbles across the 30 and he's out of bounds of the 36 yard line, so a quick gain of 11 yards. J. On Brown makes the tackle for the Titans. Well, they filled Rivers knew that their man coverage because they started spread out that bring Taylor back into the backfield. He recognizes that it's man, and he changes the play. It's actually a natural pick. They run a slant pick J on brown so he can't get to the flat to cover Taylor. So first of 10 from the 36 yard line, two receivers to the right one to the left. It's T Y Hilton coming back from a groin injury. Rivers throws right pass is complete to the right. It's a short gain of the 40 yard line of Michael Pittman, the rookie I really tried to get him involved in the last game against the Ravens, so he gets his first touch there. It's a gain of four. Well based on history. You're gonna see a lot of this short passing a game. The court of that are pressing the ball down the field very much, and Philip Rivers has not been acting very accurate. With his downfield passing second, added five the ball to 41 Yard Line of Indianapolis. He calls out the mike linebacker than bark something to the near side. Two receivers. Severe side inside handoff goes to tell her Tell her over the block of his right guard, is wrapped up by Jeffrey Simmons and taken down a yard shy of the first out of the 45 yard line. Simmons has been really good this year. They're really good, especially against the run..

Ravens took the opening kickoff to start the third quarter marched down the field, only to fumble it away. Got it right back on an interception in March, right in again. You wonder if that is a train that will continue in the second half of the offense looks completely different. So that tells the Colts way can't sit around. Turn it over. Gotta put a drive together ourselves. Offensive Ravens put different first half start matching scores. Rivers out of the gun takes the snap. Rose right. Rocio has looking for rule swarm, gone at 28 yard line and taken down there after Gator about a yard, led by rookie develops you. Patrick Rivers has always liked throwing running backs Thomason for a long time. And then he had Melvin Gordon in Austin, Meckler with Chargers and All these bags. You know whether it's Wilkins or Hines or even Taylor likes to throw to the back and let them use your ability to make people miss uses. The back. Rivers comes under center. "Defense is legit. And even though you know, we went through the first couple ballgames, and we said, Okay, wait, Whitman. We get Chicago guy was going to be better overall team. They're certainly going to have a better office of what you're going to face. So let's just wait. Plus it was the road game and the cold. Have gone almost a year without winning on the road. Is there a lot of questions to be answered there, and the defense absolutely has been travelling. The defense of line is so much better. Danica Lottery a couple years ago, had a pretty good year. But then maybe not so much. Last year. Justin Houston did a couple of things last year. It wasn't you know, not prime time kind of sack. It might have been a second quarter, so I wasn't with the game on the line Strip sack that kind of stuff. You had to Forest Buckner to this group and Grover Stuart, by the way, has been a pretty steady player. Just you know, the biggest guy on the team has been a pretty steady player. But all of a sudden you put the forest Buckner and there and all these guys have all jumped in. Ah notch or two bruises, rookie safety that was flying all over the point. It's a pretty amazing Kevin Bowman had had a pretty good take on him on a website just kind of going through. He's got a similar a similar progression into the NFL that Molly Cooker had in that he hasn't played safety. Whole bunch. He was a corner. We're moving him over. We're trying to do some things with him and already in 100. Whatever snaps. He's God He's already got bypasses defended in over 700 snaps last year Hooker Had only three passes, defended some pops on people got a nose for the ball. He's in there. He's he's really excel in. He's a great kid to him. He's great interview really nice kid. And so he's just being inserted into this lineup out of necessity. But think about it. He was a he was a late around picks their rum pick because he was hurt. And for him to be able to come back after knee surgery, jump immediately into an NFL game have to play a little mop up roll because of the injury to hooker but then immediately takes over. As the starter is playing at this high level. He's incredible. There's a lot of in Cholet incredible stories out there. Some of the rookies that air jumping in Isaiah Rogers had to play some corner. Of TJ Carrie, who came overhead. The big interception. Rhodes is reinvigorate himself. That defense showed up. But the reason I guess I say I'm not sold it for good or not, is Philip Rivers missed a bunch of throws yesterday? I thought it was Philip's worst game in that just the efficiency wasn't there. I guess you could credit a little bit of you credit the Bears defense because they were the best defense that you face so far, but our running game if you look at it if you go per carry It's the worst running game in the league. We average 3.5 yards per carry. That's the worst in the NFL per carry, so that's something we need to get up there. But it's also you kind of look at the down and distance is and what we're trying to do. And you know it. We're not really all that explosive at this point. And when you lose Paris Campbell and you'll lose Pittman and you know, t wise, just kind of Three care and three catches for 29 yards yesterday. He's not had a breakout game at all. You just You're still kind of working with your tight end group because eject oil was hurt for a little bit more like oxen coming off on injury, and then you get Phil Burton back. So are Dr Burry Burton feel burden? Indianapolis Police Department. How you don't shout out a little bit different player but still betray Philip Rivers on upgrade to.

Is there a lot of questions to be answered there, and the defense absolutely has been travelling. The defensive line is so much better. Danica Lottery a couple years ago, had a pretty good year. But then maybe not so much. Last year, Justin Houston did a couple of things last year. It wasn't you know, not prime time kind of sack. You might have been a second quarter side, wasn't it with the game on the line Strip sack that kind of stuff you had to forced Buckner to this group and Grover Stuart, by the way, has been a pretty steady player. Just you know, the biggest guy on the team has been a pretty steady player. But all of a sudden you put the forced Buckner and there and all these guys have all jumped in. Ah notch or two bruises, rookie safety that was flying all over the pointless black. It's pretty amazing. Kevin Bowman had a Pretty good Take on him on a website just kind of going through. He's got a similar a similar progression into the NFL that Molly Cooker had in that he hasn't played safety. Whole bunch. He was a corner. We're moving him over. We're trying to do some things with them and already in 100. Whatever snaps he's got. He's already got bypasses, defended. And over 700 snaps. Last year, Hooker had only three passes, defended some pops on people. You had a nose for the ball. He's in there. He's he's really excel in. He's a great kid to him. He's great interview really nice kid. And so he's just being inserted into this lineup out of necessity. But think about it. He was. He was a late around pick the rum pick because he was hurt. And for him to be able to come back after knee surgery, jump immediately into an NFL game. Have to play a little mop up Ral because of the injury to hooker but then immediately takes over as a starter is playing at this high level. He's he's in credit, but there's a lot of including credible stories out there. Some of the rookies that air jumping in Isaiah Rogers had to play some corner. TJ Carrie, who came overhead, the big interception Rhodes is reinvigorate himself. That defense showed up. But the reason I guess I say I'm not sold it for good or not, is Philip Rivers missed a bunch of throws yesterday? I thought it was Phillips. Worst game in that just the efficiency wasn't there. I guess you could credit a little bit of you created the Bears defense because they were the best defense that you face so far, but our running game if you look at it, if you go per carry is the worst running game in the league. We average 3.5 yards per carry. That's the worst in the NFL per carry, so that's something we need to get up there. But it's also you kind of look at the down and distance is and what we're trying to do, and you know it. We're not really all that explosive at this point. And when you lose Paris Campbell and you'll lose Pittman and you know, T Wise, just kind of 33 catches for 29 yards yesterday. He's not had a breakout game and all you just you're still kind of working with your tight end group because Inject. Oil was hurt for a little bit more attacks coming off an injury and then you get Phil Burton back. So our driver a Burton, Bill Burton, Indianapolis police Department. How you don't shout out a little bit different player but still betray Philip Rivers. Ah, upgrade to Jacoby. Percent Big picture here this season, are you Ah, terrible state. Well, 78% completion percentage going into the game versus 60. You know, that's that's a huge And again. He was top five when it came to yards per attempt, So you are getting the ball down the field. You don't have these huge plays yet. I think they'll come. I think they're going to come in the running game, though. I think that's it's Jonathan Taylor will be able to break some of these. I think, 19 Heinz. Maybe some of the swing passes. Think Derek Sproles kind of thing with the running back. I think that's where it's gonna have to come from, and I think morality cocks. You keep developing him and Trey Burton in the red zone and see what you can get big play wise out of these tight ends. What's coming up on the big show tomorrow? Well, we're going to get on Mike Wells a bunch because he picked the Bears. Okay, That'll be good. Mike Brady makes his triumphal return, as he does every Tuesday, so I'll talk to Grady about how inapt everything is in New York when it comes to football. And then, of course, he's working for the Yankees. So big game tonight Yankees in Tampa Bay Rays that may be the best. Siri's out of all these divisional. Siri's What time is the show?.

"From their own. 20 snapped a false time to throw looking left now looks toward the middle throws to an open man. But it was Miller did he hang on? Yes, he did. At the 32 yard line look like Miller juggled it, but he hangs on Karri Willis makes the stop. It's a gain of 12 and a first down for the bear. Credit to the officer line because he went to two or three different reads before he found Miller in the middle of a field. There was nobody at his legs, bowls quick to the line goes under center gets the snap, hands it off to Montgomery bounces off his own man, and then gets shoveled backward. After a gain of a couple. It was on the tackle Justin Houston. Of second down coming up for the Bears with 7 27 on the clock here in the third quarter, the Colts ahead 13 3. Do you think they went? Hurry? Because they thought maybe this fall was gonna be reviewed or something. Maybe because that was just surprised to run. The play they ran was like a a quick hitter. Quick run place. There's typically don't run, no huddle, least with fools back field here. It's second down and eight on their own 34. The receivers lined up on the left. After fools who will look to throw fires. It's the left side. Miller throws his arms around the ball makes the catch secures it at 39 yard line was hit from behind there. Isaiah Rogers. A gain of about four makes it third down. This is what folds is at his best when he just gets rid of the ball quick. He's born definitely much more accurate. All those quick hitters gets its goals knows where he's going to rid of it. I'm surprised Would think bears special. Nichols knowing understand the offense that they wouldn't go Maura Temple with him to try to see if they could generate some offense. Momentary, slow moving offense in every way today, third down and four fulls rolling.

"Seven, The Bearsthree Soldier field in Chicago bears at 1/9 play 84 Yard drive, but it's stalled and turn into a field goal. Cairo Santos will be the man to knock this one off the tee. Isaiah Rogers back deep for the Colts. Kick his end over in Rogers from the front of the B and the Bears script. The end zone moves up the right side of the 10 15 2025 moves through a tackle and gets across the 30 outside the number up to the 31 Good return by Isaiah Rogers Colts will have decent field position was Kendall build or Finally stopped. Roger's bringing that one out of the end zone and getting some extra yards beyond a touchback. Yeah, let's see what happens here with cultures. You know that first drive. They went right down. The hill made look easy, put up seven points with since, and they really haven't shown a gun much give the Bears defense. A lot of credit. Let's see. I'd like to see him. If they get Tyler Taylor's gets him going. We'll be in the running game going more. Jonathan Taylor, the rookie running back with Marlon Mack, out for the year, gets the standoff here from Rivers. Taylor to is right. It's a couple of yards up to 32. Nickels made the stop. Nichols is getting a nose tackle job for the Bears this year, with any Goldman opting out before the season began. It's a big job for Taylor without Marlon Mac Taylor put up some ridiculous numbers at the University of Wisconsin is the right hip of rivers here in the gun now moves to the left. In motion. Rivers rolls to his right spikes it on second down, It's incomplete. He was being chased by Danny Trivedi. It will be third down for the Colts. Yeah, they're looking to see if this was intentional grounding. You get off because he was just looking at No one in the area. But did you get outside the tackles? Question. Travail. Ethan was a Bronco and course Rivers Chargers. They saw each other in the West. Intentional grounding, but it's like there's still some bad blood there between TRAV A Thin and rivers. A lot of talking between those two so far this afternoon. I have coach Rivers a few times and you know what? He doesn't back down from anybody hears. He likes to talk smack and you get your face Interception comeback still talks back to third down and seven the Colts their own 33 rivers, and the gun gets the snap. Lock it collapsing. It gets rid of it grows to his left a jump ball and it's caught at the 45 yard line. T y Elton went to get it and brought it down in front of Eddie Jackson. There.

"Taylor had nine Marlon Mack out for the season with a thorn Achilles. But that job and Taylor pick that the Colts had in the last NFL draft is paying dividends is now you have Heinz and Taylor seeming up on the running back side. Here's Frank Reich with his thoughts on that running back death. There's no question we're going. We drafted Jonathan. We were We were saying that before this happened, Marlin. I mean, just with what we've seen. From Jonathan. You know, in training camp, and then you know, obviously the first game some flashes that we saw a novice it Marlon got hurt. You know, I can't say that we didn't say mouth, man. Now we're really glad we drafted him now. It was just it was the right thing to do to draft Jonathan. It was Part of the plan that we had talked about. He was the right player for us. They may be extremely busy tomorrow again. Jack Doyle is out. Trey Burton is still on the injured reserve. Moheli Cox, Maybe a busy man tomorrow from the tight end position as well. Fashionable for the game. Michael Pittman, Junior Isaiah Rogers, Justin Houston, Julian Blackman and Zach Paschal on the Minnesota side. Cornerback Cameron Dancer has been ruled out otherwise. Minnesota as a healthy slate for Philip Rivers home debut from Lucas Oil Stadium, first time seeing him In the blue and White Home jersey, some running king with network Indiana. "And challenges for rookies with no preseason games happening this year. What's that process gonna be like? If you've talked anybody about it within the front office of making these cuts and these decisions when you're not having competition against other teams to make those decisions anymore, you're having to go off of what's happening in house. Yeah, it's going to be really tough. Like I said, I mean, instead of four preseason games where guys at the back end of the roster that are fighting for spots get extended playing time against other guys, you know, in the NFL on other teams, you're not gonna have that apples to apples comparison under the lights on an NFL game feel in the preseason, so that makes The acclamation period during practice all that more important, and I'm not sure what the final protocols or the final process is going to be, but it sounds like With no preseason. They're talking about you the 1st 10 days or so. It can't being mostly concerned with strength and conditioning time what you missed during the spring, and then after that it would be tendered so days of non padded practices, or you're just kind of doing a walk through stuff working at a brisk pace, but it's all kind of mental and then after that, that third phase to be 10 to 14 days of padded practices kind of one day on one day off Kind of like a normal traditional camp, which were used to seeing so it's going to be huge again for the younger guys to have great days camp because instead of having 2.5 months in the spring and four preseason games now they basically just get about five or six weeks of just Practice with their teammates and I go back to a guy like Desmond Patmon need to draft pick 1/6 round pick, but he is in a very crowded room at wide receiver. You know the Colts. They've got a pretty good stable of white outs coming back from last year, so you would think there's only maybe one or two spots tops. For a guy like that to kind of cracked the roster, and there's four or five guys that are in the same boat. You don't like Marcus Johnson or re fountain. You know, guys like that. They think they have a shot the roster as well, You know, Same thing with Isaiah Rogers. His best chance is probably make this team as a kick returner. So You know, lately, you gotta bring it every single day. And you just hope that for his sake, if he has a bad day of practice, a couple of slipups that's not going to be held against him in a big time Manner. Bottom line is every rep every drill. Every practice is going to carry a whole lot of merit. Because the head coach, the talent evaluators, all these position coaches, that's all they get to kind of decide who the best players are. And to whittle this team down to you know, from 80 this year, down to 50 Really in August. From the fan's perspective, I know when I am consuming, you know my chief's content close to my heart. I'm warning in the off season and especially those first weeks of training camp to read the local papers to read the You know fan blog's or reporters that are there on the scene, covering things from in house stuff, the culture working on right now and where you anticipate fans seeking out content. How does that consumption and what's going to be available change with training camp being so isolated to the pandemic? Yeah, well, we know there's not going to be any face to face communication between the media and the players. Guys like me, the beat writers, TV reporters Gone are the days at least this year where we can just go into the locker room. And talk to guys and that's such a I feel really bad for the same because there's so much nuance that you're gonna lose this year by not being in there. You know, I talked to some of the beat guys. A couple weeks ago, and you know some of their stories they originated. Genesis of some of their stories are just these side. Conversation's off the record they have with players in the locker room. Just kind of getting to know them getting chummy with them. I hope those stories don't disappear because if it's anything like the spring was during, okay? You're gonna have you know 20 to 25 media members on a zoom call with a player and it's just kind of a big scrum. You know where you just kind of get in line. Ask your question, And then after that, it's it's over. You know, there's not There's not a whole lot of personalization to the interview, so to speak, so and I just hate for everybody's sake that you're gonna have like the same. We can't water down. Everybody's gonna have the same version of content out there so well, Like I said, you got to do what you gotta do in 2020 but that is the unfortunate reality of it. I'm not sure if we're going to be allowed to be a camp. I'm not sure if we are a camp, you know? Do we have to say Camille? Can they only be there a couple days or one day a week or whatever it is, can we be, you know, socially distance watching from above or on top of a roof? The way that the Colts complexes situated, you can kind of stand on top of the building and overlooked a practice field. Can we do that? If we can do that? What can we can we can there be a pool reporter taking notes and things of that nature, So most of that is still to be determined, But we will find out what we know is it's not going to be like You know, Westfield, where you can be a practice every day. There's fans. They're the media is right on the field, taking notes and and tweeting out observations that, for the most part is going to be gone, or at least very, very, very condensed. So it's just you got to do what you gotta do this year and again. I feel bad for the fanbase. They're not going to be Has informed as they have in years past, and maybe the content changes dramatically Once the season starts. Matt Taylor play by play Voice of the Colts. Nice enough to take some time with us here on Indiana Sports Talk mad A couple air. Be questions for you. In this off season for the Colts, you bring in a number of different editions, but two big names in my Mind and Philip Rivers and the Forest Buckner. I know Buckner's contract is longer and bigger Rivers officer just on a one year deal and kind of a wait and see approach with that, but who has bigger expectations set on them on two very important positions were both on different sides of the ball. Yeah, I think without question it's DeForest Buckner. I think the forced Buckner. It comes in and it feels a major needs automatically within this team. If you want to play a 43 defense, and you want to be very successful doing it. You gotta have a bonafide three technique, and these guys do not grow on trees. I mean, the force the force Buckner's of the world who are six foot 5 to 97 that air freak athletes they get after the quarterback that can push the pocket back into the quarter back so that he has nowhere to go. And those guys are scarce. And that's why the Colts made such an aggressive move to go out and get a guy to really kind of drive this defense into help Every layer of the defense get better. I mean so many times last year, Jimmy I just got this mental image in my head of quarterbacks sliding into the pocket kind, stepping up, completing easy passes down the field check downs..

Wildcats have hosted a soda here next week and then two weeks from today the battle for the level of control via champ pain second album nine northwestern for their own thirty nine yard line he'll call the oceans across the formation hi forward across the forty six short of the first pretty seven yards there before Logan Darby took down the second sure yeah there was a really nice from there because he was very patient he did not overcome it he just took what the defense gave him you got to the second level made one guy miss really excellent job of vision down field I Jeez Winokur comes in at quarterback for the second time his former band at this time he'll lose yardage brought down by wanted linebacker for you ban us for the first it's going to be for you think a heater McIntyre normally alive back rate is sort of an extra I don't think you're gonna necessarily him the ball but the Wildcats watching the play clock here cancel it got five yards on that play they ran it down on the last try the got four Whitaker this time only gets one so only five yards on that attempted keeper canceling the play clock run down and they'll take a time out here with me thirty three to go to the house their first Kevin Powell will update you on other games in college football the highlights of this one here Wildcats thanks to a three touchdowns second quarter that by the way that got it going here the second of the year for the Wildcats remember one at Stanford the season opener but the devil was not returned for a touchdown eighty five yards like this one time you saw a blocked field goal or PA T. run back for a score and I'll be honest with you I know one Mike Spivey did it his rookie year like the pair about north west the only one I remember by the way to celebrate my rookie year I couldn't believe it Ron sighed Isaiah Rogers awaiting the point by the graduate transfer and David six six down the middle and hooks your site now to down Paul is that about the five that's certainly got the job done there's a flag on the play we haven't had in this game not all the Wildcats only to argue Bastos far holding number twelve hundred thirteen if for some wild cats yeah to the point well back to UMass here that's later twenty one six one twenty four to go in the first half of play this has one time the Wildcats have to on their own as well your life Rovers to the running west thirteen of twenty four for a hundred fifty one yards not turned it over over the metal completed Johnson but a shallow cross wrapped up through the back drop me a line the line back the nine yard line a loss of three of the the general plays the time out here maybe the Wildcats or so pot get another for half well we can't came up with a negative play there with this T. "In seven years Sanders in a gap motors across the seventy one is up to the twenty one about three yards short of the first it's going to bring up a third down Jonathan we're true freshman makes the stop on that defense surprise for limited third down and three here seven sixteen to go the first quarter three nothing UMass cats thirty three from their own twenty one there one for two on third down so far two receivers left to the right right now all Riley leaves motions towards the left side comes back to the right snap a Smith looks to throw blitz coming lets it go wide open to the twenty five thirty leads down the far side across the forty down near midfield forty nine twenty eight yard twenty seven yard pickup Mike where we need to bring him down first out for the Wildcats on the third down conversion leaves with his third catch today you mentioned how Riley when in motion then came back and then as the ball was snapped he got right underneath the linebacker level and scooted out to the numbers great route they're a wonderful throw first down here's Anderson running right this time turns the corner at the fifty and tripped up inside the forty five yard line his best run of the day down the forty three tripped up by high risk look red shirt sophomore Montreal Canada gated nine second out of one cats got what if they could have got one more block down there from one of the wide receivers on the place I that could have gone for a much bigger yard to tear two tight ends to the right side here is they will give it off to Anderson again straight ahead plows for the first down to the thirty nine picks up for Wilson rhetoric takes you down rhetoric does tackle true freshman every chooses first down for the Wildcats to trail three nothing we take towards the five minute mark first quarter that's first out of the thirty nine yard line of you back and here is after sending public football and James James pounces on it back at the forty four yard line and a cap to lose about five yards on the play sorry if he needed to be the top on your call right here put man you cannot turn the ball over we're talking about that too many interceptions on this team so far but that was a critical pick up for the cats James pouncing on that Isaiah Rogers swatted the ball out of his arms and Evan hold replaces Sanderson at running back two receivers left wing to the left side view of second fifteen years out of the whole spits out of a tackle that gets stood up and pulled down only got about three yards it's going to bring up a third down and put together a promising drive here for the Wildcats started as an out around the forty yard line of UMass for fifty to go in the first quarter third down for the Wildcats yeah a little mistake like that put some by behind the chains I thought they were going to get more of that last running down but unfortunately they closed in on defense yes go at the third out of twelve here a forty one yard lot of UMass minute back up three nothing as we approach a late first quarter snap to Smith drops to throw Smith now fires going down feel that it is intercepted John Wallace cut in front of the intended receiver a sixteen yard line remote job he'll Baldwin and had it easy second interception thrown by agent Smith at that drive comes to an end and if you protect the get freed up the lead takes over their own sixteen yard line in this game and started worse what could be worse than three nothing I suppose but as far as the Wildcats not a great start here by any stretch what aid Smith tries to throw a shoulder throw there and it's just one on one coverage and really the it was not a good throw the defender just turned around I mean a real easy pick it was not it was so well covered I don't think that was racially gone but with more seriously is they got behind the chains on our modifiable on the four boldly recovered their old fumble but again they're kicking themselves in the foot right now man this is is that right Dave this is not the way you want to start so for twenty four to go and the defense just gonna have to come out and take a stop again until the offense can get its forty year which seems to be a difficult proposition so far in the game okay Wildcats agent Smith three of seven fifty yards and two interceptions they have a two to one edge total offense here but nothing to show for Dave think about this both of those pics were in the plus territory both opportunities of going down and maybe getting something on the poor and again take it away right there at the sixteen yard line that's twenty two turnovers now by the Wildcats this season and all of those twenty two only eight are lost which is still like it more than I had all of last year but this is you know you lead a team which seated in the past you lead a team which has struggled hang around and around it I mean we're still the first quarter is a lot of time to turn this game around but you just don't have a good bye for the way to go you know when you start to get a little confidence and we start to get a little success will success to make a few stops three and out you get two picks right almost certainly feel confident we can win this game so with a little bit of success comes much more confidence and I think you bash right now is right now wait a little bit notes very early but so far there they have the upper hand they have four wide receivers here quarterback west back in the late two is ready hands it off to a late Ali tries the middle and he's going to be covered up as he reaches the eighteen yard line got two yards paddy Fisher the Wildcats second leading tackler along with Travis will I could paddy needing three tackles today to have three hundred for his career second out of date the eighteen a lot of models stones in the works yeah wildcat defense fourteen tackles last two weeks he's a tackle machine that no one factor for cancer linebackers pretty good rolling stops knowing he's it down the left side this is Paul for a first down near midfield by Brandon Diggle beautiful throw by west moving to his left they will market rate on the fifty yard line and have his a game of thirty two yards burst out you see another big explosion play the safety well it was supposed to come over and pick that up he was very late on the coverage and that was a beautiful throw for a thirty three yard picked up while stacked two receivers either side first down you bass remit field leading three nothing west back to throw dusted off it it's dropped by analysts on a shallow cross Justin sighed northwestern territory second lieutenant coming up yeah another big explosion play there they had to run plays on theirs second drive to two big running plays with they didn't have a good foundation out the outside and you gotta make sure you got containment sacks Simon to the right to receivers left second added ten at midfield for you mass the give it all to Ali Alvarez Bergen gets to the edge and he shot that by Trey Williams on the far side the forty eight yard line of the Wildcats bring up third down that was a good defensive right there they really the cats did a wonderful job with stretching now play out running in and out of bounds for little or no yards that's how you play defense right there get almost got it slowed down a little bit Trey Williams kept contained on that side got up to the boundary third down eight yards to go at the northwestern forty eight yard line for you bass leading three nothing here's the snap and west political right sideline clot buys that Simon and out of bounds on the the thirty eight picked up their thirty seven yard line picked up eleven Trey Williams how the coverage a new mass with a fresh set it down here with two forty eight to go in the first quarter yeah Trey Williams plane ten yards off that was an easy out catching a nice throw for a first is that the one handed off a lead trying to slip through it is give me stood up and driven back as he reaches the thirty four yard line got three yards on the play Wildcats with Jason gold out there on the defensive line play along with that god told the guys see a lot of playing time Blake Gallagher the Wildcats leading tackler with a hundred ninety nine tackles the last two years makes the stop it'll be second added seven here at the north western thirty four yard line you pass on the drive after the interception for their own sixty Weston the shot gun pointed out on the right of the screen caught thirty five to the thirty eight down to the twenty five is Darien all Wiley first down widely freshman makes the catch caddy Fisher road first down down to the twenty five yard line the Wildcats first it nicely executed by the wide receivers down there getting blocks on defense of DB's as west to throw it here a first down lots of time switch now to leave the catch with his way along the sideline inside the twenty inside the fifteen picks up a first down to the fourteen yard line date of eleven like Gallagher rocks about but another first down here for you bass with a minute forty one to go in the first quarter yup three nothing well with the Garcia's field goal range willow Smith picked up while lead a loose Gallagher and moves it forward to the eleven yard line three yards I don't have a lot of the stock second down and seven as we approach the final minute first quarter mass Hey almost feels like you're dominating the game here you know it's all optics we can see what we see they have dominated the got time possession and they've also got three point to the board and there's still going west ridge above your site Johnson a tight end slash quarterback yeah here on second down and seven at the end you will love it give it to a lady is going to run right into down it goes with the twelve only got a your third down here this to be a big stop here for the Wildcats thirty seconds to go in the first quarter UMass three of five on third down here for over cities the running backs bodies a converted wide receiver this is a band but don't break right here play they hold them up here they have to settle for a field goal attempt last looked it over third down you backs three receivers left wide shot of the field.
