"The chances that the chances that drag is a raptor by the trade deadline are slim, right? You would think that, but again, you know, the number you got to get to is 19 million for a guy who's going to be back up point guard on any good team. He goes to. So it's not as easy as you might think. And if he's not there because they bought him out, then didn't win anything, right? So. I just, that was a confusing episode to me. It's interesting is we keep going down this draft. I think there was some concern in the 2020 draft that this wasn't a great draft. It's hard to get super excited about this draft scene where some of the sophomores were. The best sophomores were Jordan Nora, Isaiah Joe. Desmond Bain, two second round picks and I think the 30th pick in the draft. Xavier Tillman looked pretty good for Memphis. Paul Reid. Sam Merrill has looked good. That last grizzlies preseason game. I want to say he had 30. Now it was a little bit of a hodgepodge on the court, you know, for both teams in that game, but he was knocking them down, man. Any of these guys intrigued viewers this all just sort of preseason white noise right now. Isaac Desmond bay is going to be starting from Memphis this year. I think he's just like a good three and D role player. That's all he is, you know, but at 30, that's a good pick. The same thing with Xavier Tillman, you know, older player, drafted with the 40th pick. Slides into a role as a backup 5, good defender, smart capacity a little bit. That's what he's going to be in the NBA. You're not getting some huge upside out of it. But picking that late, it's still a win. We joke a lot. Okay, free Paul Reid, by the way. Yeah, yeah, that's where we're gonna end. I mean, we joke, we've joke a lot about Paul Reid, Paul Reid looks great in the G league. He doesn't get a lot of minutes for Philly, even in the preseason he's not getting a ton of minutes for them. You know, you joke free Paul Reid. Do you know something, the sixers don't? Is this just a log jam? Would he be if he was on a bad team? You know, like if he was on Orlando or Oklahoma City or something like this, would we be seeing him blow up right now and him getting big minutes? What's really up with Paul Reid? I mean, I know you love him and I know they analytics point in his direction. But what do you honestly think? I think they don't trust him because his game is still kind of wild and he's still a little on disciplined at both ends. And so they figure if they're putting some guy in, you know, for ten minutes, they'd rather go with the go with the known and something a little safer. I thought they hurt themselves last year in the playoffs, playing playing Dwight Howard those minutes. But it's a big jump to play a rookie who was the 57th pick or whatever in playoffs second round playoff series. So I can understand that a little more. I do think whatever happens with Simmons, any smart team that's on those trade talks is saying, okay, you gotta throw in this other guy too. You're not using many way. Does Neil O'Shea become GM of the year if he trades Damian Lillard for Ben Simmons, but really he trades Damian Lillard for Paul Reid. Trojan horse trade. It was really doing a Paul Reid, right? Yeah. It's interesting. Last question, Ben Simmons. Have we gone too far the other way on Ben Simmons now? You know, I mean, there's so much hate out there for Ben Simmons. And, you know, so many people, this is a 25 year old multiple all star runner up for defensive player of the year. And it seems to me and that this is happening to actually think in the 2022 NBA draft as well where we just can't quantify that the average fan just can't quantify defense. They can't get past if a player has offensive limitations. I mean, you're actually hearing people arguing about Rudy in Utah as well and Rudy's not a top ten player because, you know, offensively, this or that or whatever. It seems like we just have a hard time in our brains quantifying that this game is played at both ends. And that having a huge defensive impact can have a huge impact on your team. Have we have we swung too far away from Ben Simmons as a town. Forget about his personality or his decision to hold out or whatever. But as a talent too far. I think the media entity has, I don't think NBA teams have. I think the sixers are still getting calls on him. They're still teams that are interested. And the sixers have kept the asking price way up here, and I think that's a little strategic because they don't really want to trade them yet, because they want to see if Damian Lillard comes available first. But I think in NBA front offices, the pendulum hasn't swung too far. It's out here in media world where I think it has. Here's my I think you've posited Indiana as being maybe, you know, a team that could put together a package and you'd like that fit. What about Charlotte? What about a Terry Rozier Gordon Hayward combination of deal? I mean there could be some young players or whatever there would Ben Simmons and lamella ball be able to play together. I mean, you think about their problems at the time. And they have really interesting one. That is really interesting to me because with Charlotte is done a lot is placed centerless with like PJ Washington at 5 and just try to go fast as hell. And, you know, minus rosa and Hayward, there's probably some shooting deficits in that strategy. But that, at least, I mean, that's interesting, okay? Both ways because I think you get something out of that if you're Philadelphia too with those guys. That extension for Rozier could be a problem in Philly with their tax situation and 96 million coming to him. Might need to be a different player with Hayward maybe, but that is an interesting one. I kind of like that. I kind of like that. Ball and Simmons, you know, is Simmons gonna be happy, screening for ball 50 times a game. I mean, that's probably the biggest variable that you have to wonder about. Hey, it's interesting again that I've just been trying to look at it. What teams have we not been talking about that could use Ben Simmons and I think there's lots and lots of reasons for Charlotte to consider it. And I think they probably, like you said, maybe it's not Terry Rozier, but there's probably a collection of again combination of veterans and players that they could put together that might be really intriguing for Philadelphia holding out the Lillard. I think is going to be a mistake just in my opinion. And so make a deal. All right. Yeah, I think they're going to hold out a little longer. I think they're going to go till close to the trade deadline and then say uncle and take whatever's the best thing on the table. Okay. He's John hollinger, check out his team previews for all 30 teams over at the athletic John, always a pleasure to have you on the show. I'm sure we'll come back at some point in the season and start talking about the 2022 NBA draft class, but let's give it a little time to watch how these guys come at. For me right now, this is a wide open draft. Yeah, absolutely. I'm excited to get out and see some of these guys. All right, John, you've been listening to chat for NBA big board. I'm locked on podcast network..

"He said that the organization was left with no choice in quotes, no choice, but to send him away. He has a choice to make, and he made his choice. My job here is to make what we deem as the best decision in best choices for the organization moving forward as a whole. They're not always ones that are going to be met with open arms and a thumbs up. These are hard decisions. Just like I'm sure it wasn't easy for Kyrie either to have to make that decision to not be around his teammates, like yeah and they definitely did have a choice. I would say this was the harder of the two pass for them to go in. Because look, do you want anyone to be a part time player? No, but it's the NBA, like players are in and out of the lineup all the time. You just had a couple years ago where the raptors won with Kauai and Kauai was missing every third game. You can certainly have players in and out of lineup. He would have helped them win basketball games throughout the regular season. He would help them fight for the number one seed, and certainly playoffs roll around. That was I think the harder of the two paths for them to take. And like I said, I'm surprised that they went that way. And I do give them a little bit of credit for that. Yeah, I do too. Derek do you have any other important takes that you have to get off before we get out of here? Oh, this is basketball. There's no, I have no important takes at all. Here's what I'll say. Because we rarely talked about the sixers. And by that, I mean, like, we spend it all talking about Ben. I've been intrigued by Isaiah Joe. I think he has looked real good here in the pre season. I don't know where you had him coming into the 2020 draft. He has looked very good. I think he can shoot the heck out of the ball. With a lot of the shot versatility and a lot of range and a pretty quick release, but he has held up for a guy who looks like he weighs about 6 four a 160 pounds. And I know he's listed that more than that, I don't believe it. I've stood next to him. For a guy who looks like he's about 6 four one 60. He holds his own defensively better than I would have expected. He's the one guy that I would point out and say, I'm pretty intrigued by what he can offer, especially when you're talking about Joel embiid and shooting you need around that. Yeah, Ionis Isaiah Joe ranked as my last guarantee guy that year and by guarantee guy I mean like guys taking the second round, you should get guaranteed contracts. So what you did? Yep. Like them exactly where the 76ers took them. The only reason I didn't like it more was because of the injury history. His injury history is not great. If you go back through the years, had he not had that, I probably would have had him is the first round pick, but given the frame combination with the injury history I had some pretty real worries about the way that the early portion of his career would go. And I would say I'm not surprised that while he's healthy, he's shooting the shit out of the ball and has played a critical role in hopefully at least earning a bench spot early..

"They're going to you want as much spacing on the rest of that second unit because then guys like maxi and however they want to run it. We'll have will actually have the space to operate. So that's going to be a potential challenge of dermer. Had a bunch of other interesting guys on the team. I think that the the one that we would normally start on would be jailed springer because the tennessee product was their first-round pick this year eighth but Read were so productive. Springer played in in five games. The jump shot was not falling for him. But he's still in an intriguing player a defensively and in some of his offensive. Aggressiveness on twos was was notable as well the do about springer who's just got built like a tank and he's like six four but he's pretty jacked and just really likes to attack it. In transition workers way into the lane us is big body to create angles and go up or the rim off a two feet and not really a one footed leaper and early shot threes at tennessee. And so you wonder like six four doesn't really shoot three's not necessarily profiling as a primary pick and roll threat so it you know. Sometimes you see guys like that who don't really fit into a mold of at least at this point in time and you're like man number one like why the hell they draft this guy but the number two man. He must be really good at all the stuff that he does do to get by these floods. And there's a little bit of that from it like he's a tough guy. Rugged plays defense might be switchable with that big frame in as a little bit of passing vision as wall was able actually to work off a pick and roll of it more than expected although not exactly operating there necessarily did shoot some jumpers off the dribble from mostly on twos. That looked okay. You mentioned it. Three point rates not particularly high. So i'm interested to see how he develops. Obviously he's going to need to get a passable three point shot or he's just not to be able to play certainly not on this team. But there's a little bit of clay there with his physical profile and it's just hard nosed style that makes you think there could be a little something there as does a joe draft record franklin. Yeah that's a fair point. While another interesting sixer was isaiah joe and not surprisingly for those of us who watched him at editor points. The jump shot is the is the key thing there is. Joe played in four games for the sixers and took ten threes. It came and made thirty eight percent of which was totally totally insane. A lot of that wasn't catch and shoot where isaiah joe. Maybe he just shoots the cover up the ball so that that look good for him. Yeah just a lot of versatility..

"You know, Like I knew I wanted to get into the pro game, the NBA game and then you know, went to the assistant route. Obviously that and then got two opportunities. As a head coach of the NBA level, and I didn't think Jim that it would be very easy to get a third track at it. So I wanted to reinvent to recreate my career. However, you want to word it. And I wanted to do the college game and kind of in between going from the MBA. You know to college instead of going back as an MBA assistant, cause I had a great opportunity with Flip Saunders, who had played for my dad was actually part owner of the T Wolves. Um, and a guy that I had emulated growing up. When I didn't go join. Flip is an assistant. You know, the college game was a new challenge. It was different I had done to national teams, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, and so You know your juices get going when you have a new opportunity and and a new challenge, And so there's not many people that have coached at the pro level coached overseas, you know, coach that the NBA level coached at the D League level. S O. I love new challenges and in a great spot here in Arkansas, for sure. Arkansas head basketball coach Eric Musselman joining me for a few more moments so much last season, You had four scholarship players over 65. None over 68 this year. You've got a lot more height. As you've said, The team's gonna look a lot different getting off the bus. How much different is that gonna make you on the court? Well, we're a lot different. You know, we're a deeper team. Um, you know, last year I let two guys pretty much you know. Freestyle, Mason Jones and And Isaiah Joe. One was drafted by Philly and Isaiah Joe. Their basic Jones signed a contract with the Houston Rockets. And and and Really, we were undersized. We were horrific on the backboards. Andre. We knew that the only way we could survive was take away our opponents three point shot from a philosophical standpoint, we led the nation in defending the three This year. We're bigger. You know, we kind of an over seven. Put three transfer from the Cal Bears. Hey, had six blocks the other night. We pride didn't have six blocks the whole year last year, so We are a different team, but but we're still evolving in a lot of ways as well. Last year when you have a smaller rotation, Jim, it's really interesting. When you have a small rotation, it's really easy. Quickly form rules. When you have more depth, it becomes much more challenging to try to figure out roles, and I also think it's more difficult for the individual players when you have a deeper team. You could be. It gets subbed out of games, quick or so on and so forth. So there's a lot of things that go into having Morris on your roster that maybe you don't. You know, the public doesn't really understand. Eric Musselman. Joining me must something else. You been breaking out shirts? And masks for different teams in different sports. This year, Like one day, it'll be the Steelers Another day at the Orlando Magic. Another day, It's the Birmingham rumble ponies. What you process behind that. How much fun are you having with that? You know, obviously here if your head coach in the NBA a You're not going to do that, and I got my wife she kind of self checks me every day like, Are you serious? You're walking out of here Do England Patriots shirt Mass today, but The bottom line on this thing in our world. Social media so powerful and I'm not worried about connecting with a, you know, 55 year old n ba G m. I'm worried about connecting With a 17 year old high school player, and I'm trying to figure out like what conversation pieces can I have? Uh And so a lot of our social media stuff is based on solely on How do we connect? How are we different? And it started off really? Just, you know, with the pandemic Like, how do we encourage people to wear masks? And then you know, have a little bit of fun with it. And you know it started off one or two teams would send something in that now, almost every day when when the mail comes to our office were like high. You know, who's it gonna be it? We've had some fun with it, because because there's been a lot of stuff that have been shipped to us that we never even reached out to certain. You know, programs or organizations must one last thing you mentioned Daniel, I wanna ask you like Seth Greenberg and I would talk about this. His wife, Karen, obviously was so important what he did in the program and the way she connected with the players and how much she was a factor in what he did like She loved it. I don't care and missed it. When stuff has gone on has become a brilliant broadcaster. What about Daniel? How important is she to what you do and the team and how much did she enjoy it because she also had a really successful career herself. No, she's a huge part of our number once is a huge part of our recruiting. Um, you know, when we have recruits in their parents over to our house, she's way more valuable than I am. On divan do our current team because of her experience, you know, working for NFL network on air working for ESPN on Air. Um, you know, she is able to watch one of our players do an interview. Post game and then send them attacks. And say, Hey, um, you got five minutes where we could talk, you know, and she could give some helpful hints, um, on, you know how to conduct an interview and and that's really important for student athletes that are young and inspired toe, have a camera or a microphone in front of their face and wanna play beyond You know college, so she's really instrumental in a lot of different areas, and you know, after the game she's able to, you know, see a parent who may be the player didn't play as much and say, Hey, you know, we still love him and You know, we still believe in him and so on and so forth, so and she's brilliant with you know with helping me with social Media stuff is well, good stuff. Head basketball coach in Arkansas in his second season, they're coming out that 21 season. Arkansas is to know you. T A is at Arkansas tomorrow night. Good friend of mine. Eric Musselman must great to hear your voice. Great to hear you back back on the program. As always, Good luck with it gladly get caught up. J. R. It's awesome catching up. Thanks for having me in the just go. It's the best. Thank you so much. He must you are the best Eric Musselman. And when he mentioned that he was the GM of the rapid city thrillers he was when he was 23. That's when we met. When we were both 23 so hope you enjoyed that conversation's much as I did when we come back..

"They also add. I, uh Tyrell Terry. I thought they got to quality players without having a top 10 pick. Did you like with Dallas did Yeah, they got three Pac 12 players, which is you know where I'm from 12 countries, so that that was kind of nice way like green. We talked about him. Terry's I think was a great pick at 31. He's gotten stronger. Andre has, you know the shooting ability and then they also picked up Tyler Bay, who you're really nice wing defender. He graded out really well to combine with his jumping ability. And I think all three of those guys were excellent picks. And in addition to that they got Josh Richardson. Um, from Philadelphia in exchange for Seth Curry trade that benefits both teams. Richardson will be a really nice defender, especially off the ball. Actually try to help Luca Dance, which you know on hung defensive ends. I think they did They degraded since you mentioned the deal of Thesixties and the Mavs made with Seth Curry ended up in Philadelphia. I also thought to sex. It did pretty well on draft night. I actually like their picks in the reverse order that they were taken. You told me last week you thought Paul Reed was one of the best. Defensive players in this draft and he goes in the fifties and the sixties still got him. I know they liked Isaiah Joe. There was word out that two sixes to promised they would take him. Well, they did, but they didn't have to take until the second round and they used their first round pick on Tyreese Maxie out of Kentucky. I think that's all three guys. We're going to step in and have a chance to contribute for the sixes. Even here in their rookie season. Yeah, Plus, they got rid of Al Horford's contracts, so I think they did great. They brought in Danny Green and he's shooting. They got Danny Green, Seth Curry on condition to the guys who they drafted. I think, Hillary. It'll be a really nice player for them, You know, in defensive end and Maxie's got to really hung nice upside. He could. He could be a contributor right away. Isaiah Joe. Maybe not right away. But you know he's not the shooters, so I think they did figure really well. I was pretty happy with 26 a draft. All right. Oklahoma City has gone for the last year and maybe even more than that into a rebuild mode. They were still able to make the playoffs and win a whole bunch of games this year, even after Trading away key pieces because they got veterans back and return like Chris Paul this year, Morpho for draft Capital. How did they do and I know they've still got many pics yet to come. And 2021 22 23 24 25 depicts is spread out over years to come had they do with their first put in the rebuild pool in this year's draft, in your estimation. I think they did it. Okay. You know, they brought Harford in Orford. I think we'll be a good fit for them. The guys they drafted focus of ski. Um, I don't know if you've seen shit home Green play. They came from Minnesota Who's Icicle Sr now? This is some feed and very skinny. Maybe 100 80 £185, but exceptionally skilled, yes, ball skills and Piece of defense to get chop blocking skills. Broca's caps. Gypsies is similar to him clearly a little bit for project but you know they're dressing for the future, and he's clearly got good upside..
NBA Mock Draft 3.0
"And we are back talking two thousand twenty mock draft three point o our last mock draft of the year. It's draft day draft morning. What better to unwrap and a mock draft on draft morning. it's the second round. Now now's the time to confess. I'm really terrible at projecting second rounds like you know my hit rate and some drafts has been like one two three picks in the second round. It's it's so hard to keep track of the first round the wheels to sort of come off and these picks happened like every two minutes. I it's hard to really keep track. I did my best. I project where. I think particular players can go. You definitely don't really get deep into this when you're talking the nba scouts in executives about what they're going to do in the second round. They're still trying to figure out the first round as well. So i've tried to find some fits there so this is reported more chad ford speculation. Here about what's happening. The second round starts with the dallas mavericks this pick via the warriors taking malachi. Flynn the san diego state. Junior point guard One of the guys that frankly could go ten spots higher in the draft. I actually really love malachi flynn. There's kind of a lot of point guards kind of later in the first round which may push him out a little bit. But i actually think he's the guy who could step in play right away. I would actually love him in dallas. I think that'd be great. Pick for dallas at thirty one at thirty two. The charlotte hornets are on the board. They're getting this pick via the cavs. Paul read the sophomore forward center out of depaul. Have them going thirty two. This is john. Hollinger's been super high on all year. I think he's another guy who can guard positions on the floor. I really like him. Actually think he brings some stuff offensively as well. I personally like him. Better than precious. I'm right now. Could turn out to be a terrible take. But it's kind of what i think and i definitely think he could be an excellent fit. I'm in charlotte. Especially if they end up with lamelo ball and they're gonna need to add a defensive big man. As part of that package at thirty-three the minnesota timberwolves around the board. This'll be the third pick because they have to. First round picks. Tillman the junior power forward at michigan state. Everybody loves this kid. He's he's one of these guys like high floor. Low ceiling. just does his work every day. Great rebound or plays hard. I'm ken defend going. Bring be a great locker room guy is gonna find some rotation that somewhere I like him in minnesota on a team. That is trying to go forward. I think he actually adds a bit of a veteran presence to the locker room. At thirty four the philadelphia seventy sixers are on the clock. That get this. Pick via the hawks. Isaiah joe the arkansas shooting guard who is one of the best shooters in this draft. Crazy range. High volume of three point shots philadelphia. Always in need shooters. When you're going to be playing. Ben simmons on this team he certainly constructs the floor. And i'd like isaiah joe there them at thirty five the sacramento kings Via the pistons. Dan dotson to kansas sophomore guard. Who is one of the quickest players in the draft. He's an elite score excels off the getting to the basket not a great shooter a bit undersized for his position not really a point guard that's why he slides a few spots higher but could be instant offense off the bench for sacrimento at thirty five at thirty six the philadelphia seventy sixers back on the clock this time via that pick from the mix jordan aura the louisville junior who also is one of the better shooters in this draft. He has good size vers position. Good length i'm not sure exactly what else he brings to the table besides shooting but again i'm just loading philly up i with shooters at the moment at thirty seven. The washington wizards are on the board. They get this pick via the chicago. Bulls tyler bay the junior ford out of colorado who is one of the best athletes in the strath super explosive. Really hard worker on the defensive end still just kinda coming along on the offensive. And then i think that's been a concern. He's he's one of those guys that might be a little bit of a twitter. Not sure exactly what position he plays in the pros that causes him to slide. A few picks in this draft think this is still really value. and by the way when. We're talking about a lot of these guys dotson. Tillman for example malachi flan. These guys could all end up in the first round as well. Just have them the second thirty eight new york knicks via the hornets janis ramsey. The texas tech freshman guard again volume score can shoot it a little bit We're just loading the knicks up now with backward guys that can score the basketball. I'm not sure who's going to defend in new york. But he's an intriguing prospect. He's only nineteen years old. And i certainly there's upside there with the thirtieth pick in the draft at thirty nine the new orleans. Pelicans selecting this pick for the wizards. Daniela touro the minnesota sophomore center. Who had a really really strong summer season one of the more improved players in the country very skilled at big man. I'm great size. Adding just bore skill in size to this pelicans roster i'm at the moment If you remember earlier jalen smith. I'm selected at thirteen at forty. The grizzlies are on the board. This pick via the silence. This is the first pick that the grizzlies have been able to make in the twenty twenty. Nba draft a doco as a bouquet. The kansas center. Big guy seven. Seven wingspan seven footer. Really good athlete actually just dominant player in the pain. Terrible free throw. Shooter doesn't really do anything facing the basket. But when you have that size and length and athleticism. I think you get something done in. The and kind of reminds me deondraye jordan. A little bit and a little bit surprised. He doesn't go higher. I get there seems to be a penalty on the big minner plane or pain. Right now in the draft at forty one san antonio spurs back on the on the board yama dr the israeli guard nineteen year old for hop. Well tel-aviv and you know. He's such an intriguing prospect because he plays his butt off. His incredible energy is just making a difference when he's out there but he's not really a point guard. He's kind of more of a two guard in a point guards body. He's not like a great shooter. I'm athletically he's actually not bad at all but that lack of a jump shot kinda undersized i position that makes him more of a second round prospect at he absolutely wants to leave israel and come to the nba. And if it's the g. league next year and so he could be an interesting prospect for san antonio developed down the road

"Double team lost the ball picked up by Al Durham, they gotta get it across the timeline that they did not. Yeah. That's a bad turnover there against his own price. Devante green really struggled on where to go. With the basketball. Turns the ball over ten second. Call someone from Indiana has got to get into the middle there that Saul spot of that two to one full court press to break zone. Can't trouble against that. You've got to be able to pass the ball to the open man Harrisburg zone across the time line against the vita. Who drives it right again to throw it out. And there's gonna be a foul a jump ball. Call possessions, spurned ghost, Arkansas. So it's not going to matter twenty five seconds Shacklock, but a nice defensive play by play great. Harris, lobs it it comes into also boy on on the white parameter gives it out to Mason Jones. Jones got it by xactly Roberts. Throws a left side to Harris Harris now looks to get it out. Bronte Dustin Reggie Cheney Cheney pitches, right sobriety drives. In low throws up a shot. Joe? Got the rebound feeds off to the vodka. Green. Lost the ball. Got it back tips. It wrong step. Now, the turnover is gonna come out in. Below loose with the basketball there. The behind the back dribble by devante in traffic. You gotta watch out against this Arkansas defense. I mean, they they are really aggressive. They understand kind of where Indiana's trying to go with the basketball. More importantly, they smell weakness with the basketball coach Archie Miller is trying to call them. Devante now is really disappointed himself that he's turned it over the last possession. John checks the sideline Davis is answered. Getting a chance here's a three by job at missiles. And the robot comes by Roberts, forty eight forty seven Arkansas by one Indiana, basketball, here's finishing holes. It back out the fester Avin. Looks turns round. Is it right side? Zach Robert C works against those brings it up. Left side past Durham Durham data. The way back out comes to Pfitzner down inside the Dorado Davis. Style. Harassed out their bios. Oh boy. And who Powell Ron does a great job it low post position? But then giving the pass or target to hit put that right hand out and Evan from the top of the keys just a spot on pass it the hand perfectly which led them to on right into an easy layup and one for the hoosiers. Indiana's got the lead back by a point in the chance to take a two point advantage as changes comprehension saw Jones Reggie Cheney. Both check the sideline a real Bailey's back in there awhile along with he sills Isaiah Joe. So boy, Harris derive Davis of the stripe. Drive. Converter three point play. At does. Not the rebound has taken out of their bios Boyer. Here comes Arkansas the latest single point. Here's also boy on top of the key feeds Isaiah Joe. We got a foul called. I think gravity gets a call as he pushed Desi sills who went to the deck. Sobek Roberts picks up. His first bottle the ball game. I'm just trying to fight through that screen garden. Joe who's the best three point shooter on the floor right now. Zac, Nick Roberts. Understood. I think it's probably better than he got the foul rather than getting hit by that screen, which went up Joe wide open top of the key. And bypass comes dourson boy member right side. Download Bailey and Bailey his foul on the play by. No, I take that back. They're going to call the Ron Davis. Davis picks up. His first follow the game was on Pitzner too. I'm surprised that was on Davis. Bowel. Come from Jalen, Harris. And now whistle blows. And another follows crawl this accurate Roberts. Roberts picks up. His second foul almost in succession, Jack upset heads to the sidelines. Green cubs. That's the third team foul, Indiana. The only need five here to get Arkansas. And the double bonus, exactly. And this is inside ten minutes. So good. Here's Bailey really long jump shot that misses. But the tapped out the Bailey, he finds Harris Harris will the basketball now Harris works outside. Works at data free throw line throws it back out the sales for a three he hits. And he's been good. Yeah. Simple hand offer, Indiana. Get out to the shooter and has been hurting all night long all day long. Listen, easy shot at the top of the key. I don't know why we talk about Isaiah Joe or Mason Jones as much as SIL sills hitting forty four percent of the season from the three point line and forty seven percent an SEC play. He's been on fire forever here. Upside is not a fantasy left side of comes to Doron Davis pitches out the devante for a long three. Yes. Grades four three of the data's first points in the second half for the day. His Indiana fifty two Arkansas fifty one now back in the Whiteside OSA boy, and he'll go along one, and he'll miss and the rebound inside down to Florida. Hurry. Devante throws the Fettes during the quarter to Durham. He fires a three. This part of the day. Across the time. Harris the buyers that outside to Bailey left side, the cells fast past also boy poster boy and looks looks. Looks dribbles box gives the cells cells fakes the three down to the corner. Dill? He throws it cross out. The Harris Parrish drives into the land. Throws up a water deflected. But Apollon devante green. Picks up his second follow the game. And all of a sudden, Indiana, Scott fourteen thousand that was in the act of shooting. So they're going to get to on every shot from our fence. Twenty five seconds of that shot clock. Can't let the guy thrive medal if he drives middle. He's gonna get you that time Harris got right in the middle of the paint. Rozov? Devante tripe blocking the shot could have been all ball. But you let that guy beat that first step off. This was going to blow out of the floor. Fifty four fifty one Indiana leads with seven forty four lap. We're back in a moment. This was basketball. "Al Durham the original starting five for this. Who's your ball club and Arkansas still has broken their huddle yet? But we assume it'll probably be their original starting fibers. Well, gabo Savoy, and does he sells Adrienne Bailey is air Joe and Jalen Harris bowl teams. Dim glowing write ups are bit different than normal, obviously for not playing for Indiana for the second straight game because of back problems and Daniel different sitting out the. To get ready for the NBA draft not wanting to hurt his status because he's definitely entering the draft. So and he's the best player for Arkansas. So there's no question Vobis teams are short handed in that regard. But finding a way to do it and get away. Some other guys have picked up the slack. Green nine points in that first half three three pointers made for green really nice pick me up all pensively for losers in the forest want. Morgan was really good nine points on three of six shooting may three free throws as well. And that I have on just a big pain of giving Guam Morgan the ball early and often here in this half establish your presence. Let Arkansas no we're going to score around the rim at will. And we're going to do with our best player Arkansas ball to start the second half. Jalen Harris has it on the left shot harassed on the dribble. Throws it out the Isaiah Joe who pitches Whiteside. A real Bailey. Bailey holds on the way and gives it back. Top of the key to Joe Joe, look slapped Rosa buoyant Osimo it holds on against your wad, bats Pashtu Bailey. Top of the key pulls up. Take a shot away. Now, he does force upper shot off the rim. No, rob, courtesy pulls down rebound. Donald floor. Bitter Justin Smith. He takes it across the key pulls up for a little ten foot runner. That's way off the Mark and the rebound OSA boy backups Arkansas to break does. He sells throws it outside. Isaiah Joe for a three any berries. And is eight Joe has got his eight point of the Gabay held him in check in the first half. They can't let him get going here in the second. He is a really good marksman. Now, here's devante green throws it out to Al durum as Arkansas has a one point advantage. Now, here's a quick three by Durham any barriers. What both teams grease here at the app. Set is Al Durham picks up. His first field goal of the game. Boy now here is Isaiah. Joe he pumps another trae. It's no good. A devante green comes up with the ball on the break down the floor. Al all by himself. What a great book pay grade. Got six point two field goals of the game. Come here at the outset of the second half, Indiana by four key. Isaiah Joe holds against zero vaccinate between the circles throws a left sided does. He sells he pitches. Baco Sheboygan pitches right to Harrison terrace bats is a down low to aid eight real Bailey who works Justin Smith on the baseline rivalry slams it on a reverse layup straight line drive, right along the baseline, nobody on the weak side for Indiana. Really Pat on the ball defense that time in easy to for the Razorbacks six points. Now for Bailey JIRA spiracy outside past comes to on the left side. He takes the top bass passed the fantasy back comes rob with the dribble left. Throws it out the Justin Smith Smith gives it up to Al Durham, he drives it right? Downloaded Jon Morgan on the baseline kicks out to the left side to fantasy and he is trying to call for traveling violation. And here comes Doron Davis. Checking into the lineup. Justin Smoak, we'll sit out in a good offense from Indiana started on the low block cake out. And then you swing the ball around the primer. Get the defense rotating out of that double team just unfortunate travel. Otherwise, it's an easy straight line drive to the basket. Paris to Bailey on the right wing Juwan on him. Now throws it out those subordinate pitches left side the Joe Sills top of the key. He goes right to Harris on the perimeter. And he drives to the left side throws. A downloaded ESI sells for a nice go play. And does he picks up an easy basket inside twelve of the contest? And now, it's tyrod Parikh five here's algorithm outside the devante green into Ron Davis. Nice spindle pulls it up left hand off. Davis has pointed. That's his first field goal. Back down to the corner. Jalen Harris has got it. For Arkansas goes outside, the Oso boy and Bailey, they work at around the perimeter to sills on the right side, he rebels back to the left. He gets outside. The a real Bailey. Bailey fakes the pass inside than handled off to sills are given go Plato Savoy under delays up, and it's going to be a blocking foul called on. How Durham it looked like he had position. But maybe a foot. I'm at a terrier line. That's why you gotta make sure you understand where one the basketballers and to the timing of that pick and roll nice little bounce pass dumped down for Arkansas. Al's just a half second too late. If you see the ball burst. You can sprint out beyond that semi-circular. Get your position I agree with you, Don he was their feet Sabatini have time to get out beyond the semi daily free throw line. And he lays earn accident is seven point of the game. Bailey only average is five point five points a game. But he's knocked down seven points in this one looking for his eighth here at the stripe with sixteen fifty to go in the final half. And he can tie up the second pot. It's way got them. Both eight points now for Bailey and Indiana and Arkansas deadlocked at thirty seven all in bad past comes from now Durham the fantasy back. It comes to Durham Durham gets it across the timeline quickly. And now backs it out now the right side passes it into Doron Davis Davis goes against Isaiah Joel passes deflected and stolen by Arkansas. Turnover for Indiana back the other way does he sells for a long three. He hit it. Boy this kid's going on fire today. That's his third three at key point of this ball game too, many spot up threes wide open in transition Indiana's got to hustle back. Think most importantly communicate match up on those shooters beyond the three point line. Now, Arkansas leads by three at forty two thirty seven NBA the Amazon. Devante green with the basketball slides it to the right side. And then works on a given go play tried to feed it inside another bad passed away. At Arkansas, here's Harris, he puts it up. No, they're going to call a foul on Joon mortar dangerous play that time by Harris. Not that they shouldn't have done it. But that's a big time. Collision looks like he's gonna be okay. But again, a costly turnover from Indiana leads to a fast break free onto for the Razorbacks tough start here Indiana's still within striking distance. But a three point deficit right now Arkansas has done what they needed to take this league. Sixty minutes left here on the final half of play.

"And the thing you always worry about playing the NIT at least early in the IT what kind of effort, you're gonna get. I think we've got no problem there in in that aspect in this game here. Both of these teams are flying up and down the court at both ends extremely hard. A lot of emotion going on a lot of competition gone on a little bit of John back and forth between these two teams this game matters, and you can tell by the intensity and the way that the flow of this game is going. It is a really fun basketball game to watch. If you love competition, he'll love big athletic guys banging into each other. The type of game that you love to watch for Indiana. I love the hoosiers have are at right now. They fall back into this game to the chance to take the leap Valderrama gets the pass into rob Tennessee, finally that full court pressure bothers the inbound pass, occasionally, it looks like Demonte gets it across the timeline. Devante takes it to the right Allama dribble against Reggie Cheney. Now books inside vice July mortgage, but the passes to tight, and it's kicked away and Indiana's turned it over for the sixth time here is Harris for three short three badge pulls out of their gives it up Cal Durham Durham down to Justice Smith baseline drive. He's cut off the ball's knocked out of bounds long Di you. I will tell you one thing there is not a pass. There is not a shock. That's not contested by Arkansas. Really athletic defense here. Switch a lot of ball screens and dribble. Handoff since because of that you might get some mismatches down low, but you've got five guys defensively that can kind of our guard almost any position. And that's why I say the advantage for Indiana thinks down low Molo block, you're trying to move the ball on the perimeter. You might have some troubles against us defense. Indiana gets the bad going Demonte scouted out front gives it off to rob Hennessy left wing ESI fakes against Isaiah Joe brings it back outside or the bass. Ranges up to Albaro now back to drain on the corner. He fires up a three and. For this Thursday night pointed Indiana's got its personally, the twenty eight hundred twenty five now here is Cheney will the ball past the Desi cells. He finds Kimberly Emory Simpson. Back in a ballgame now to Jones and back out to Emory Simpson. My apology that's actually Ethan Henderson now. Top of the key to Mason Jones. He works on. Fritzy back in the corner to Joe for a three it's off. The Mark pulls out the rebound. Green down. A floor finds Justin Smith takes an inside. He's going to be. Let's say a blocking. Nope. It's going to be a charge thought. It would be Justin Smith picks up. Number two. Justin goes into next year. That's the ply Dataman the baseline drive that he's got lemonade from his game. One thing that all good ball handlers. And I always a big, but he handled the ball, especially when the transition were. They really understand is how the defense is playing in. Where the drive in kick is Justin is always a couple steps to late kicking that ball out and it gets himself in trouble with offense. Afoul. He can get fifteen foot jump shot off that anytime he wants it. And that's what he just doesn't recognize the defense. Here's Jones throws it inside to Henderson. He puts it up Mr. Joon imposed rebound again down a Florida. Al Durham, he can't save. He does to devante quick three on the way. That's not gonna cow apparently Durham was on a line. What he say places while tough to hear the whistle. And nobody I don't think anybody heard it. But look look like outdoor Embiid step on the baseline that saving that basketball out to devante, but the taste feeling right now, even the Bank shots known in twenty eight twenty five leading Arkansas, here's Cheney left side passed the Jones Mason Jones holds on phrase it back out fraud slides to the right, still dribbling. It is. Joe near mid chord Joe holds on clears right to Jones Jones. Now looks up the clock sell it on the clock works down low forces up a shot blocked away by Jones or. And it'll belong to Arkansas with three seconds on the clock. Stop here. One minute and thirty six seconds left. Hoosiers have a three point lead. Arkansas got very limited time here to get a shot off here if you can stop the Razorbacks here and have a chance to push on transition and extend this leader this happens. That'd be really huge for the who's Jalen Harris comes in ambassador Jones for retry. It's no go to the rebounded. Ron Davis software. Devante in Indiana comes back up before quickly. Devante. Download John takes the pass down. Low is pushed by hand or two hands. No, question fouled. Erin. Henderson picks up his second follow again dribble. Nice job by Demonte green that extra dribble to get. You the angle that you need to wa- Morgan the ball before any offense. Even goes. It's just run down in your man as deep as you can decide the paint. And then a nice little bounce pass from your guard. Nice job by devante recognizing that one was opened. Inbound comes to Davis now to Juwan Morgan outside on the perimeter. Right. He drills it throws it back left mobster. Deflected away. I should say. And didn't do. Devante green. And you let go another quick one this went badly. Now. The rebound comes off the deshea sills data Florida Mason Jones Jones throws it out to Jalen Harris into the lane deflected pass out of bounds. Got a hand on it. Belonged Arkansas, so quick great hands. By Jon Morgan that pass was there. There was a there was an angle for the dump down wide open gets his hand on Valentine's. Does he sells? And he puts up a quick three and ferries were tied at twenty eight all sills has got a second three of the game. And is ten point one eight all tie were inside a medic. Wall. The hands of rob takes it to the right throws it out to Jerome between the circles goes left side. Now back to the wing down into the lane bass passage puts it up and is blocked by Reggie Cheney back. The other way comes Mason Jones. He drives underneath kicks outside the also boy in for a three and he missed it badly in the rebounded, Iran Davis and Davis will bring it up Indiana's..

"Here you got to run your offense. Get a great look. Boy and checks back into the lineup for Arkansas. So does. Bailey now here is green batches to Doron Davis low post right side turns around tries to put her outdraws another. How can a lot of switches defensively? Kamal console. Brought to light. Bodied defenders. So he can switch a lot out on the perimeter. What that creates is a mismatch down low low block for drawn. Dave, it's not many guys can handle him one on one time had the mismatch against Joe able to draw the foul so Doron back to the free throw. Strive for the third time in this capacity, rattles after his first three in a row try to keep that going employing Indiana within five of hits the second at sixteen to ten right now at ten thirty four to go in the half algorithm. Just arrest for the first time, here's free throw. Number two. This was off the rim. No, good rebound. Isaiah joe. And back comes Arkansas the attack. Jalen Harris to the left side rebel cut off. Throws it out front. The Bailey Bailey ghost also boy boy much for Jones and gives it up to us jobs between the circles holds onto it for a second now passes right to also boy drives those back outside to Jones. John's looks up the clock throws it back left. Jalen Harris, Harris holds five and a shock drives down low base. Past jones. He runs right into the hawk. Doc Roberts shot. Here's green outside the Pfister along the way, though. Rebound comes up with a. Zack. Sixteen. Now right side pass does John's outside the boy and rise right away to John's John pulls up. Let's go a three short off the rim. Rabaeus grade down to Florida rob fantasy dries inside kicks out the Fetzner pets there. Fires another three. I. Anderson has to call a timeout. Nine twenty four to go here in the first half. But are consolidating Indiana by only appoint now sixteen to fifteen all season long Papa John's get forty percent off pizzas of regular menu. Prices. Kept percent of the discounted prices. Go to the dance marathon of supportive Roddy hospital for children use promo code. I you the Bordia Papa John's dot com times you see a good teams. A lot of times you see a guy that comes off the bench and kind of like a spark plug guy, Nick Roberts. The last three possessions for Indian has been a spark plug guy comes up with huge blocks against Mason Jones underneath the basket offense. Rebound leads to an Indiana bucket and then a defensive. Indiana and open three early and transaction exactly proper. Explain really well right now for Indiana won't show up much on the stat line. But what you get is energy off events. And that is what he has provided this team Indiana who started really slow offensively. Sometimes all it takes one guy to make a difference to get everybody else going, and that's a few seen here. The last three or four times down the Zach Roberts got a block at one end. And then he got a tip into the hands of the easy layup. So obviously, he's doing some special things, but you'll never see it the box your right side. This is Joe with the basketball. No, I take that back at sills who drives in laser there. Does he sells with his seventh? Boy, just went right past Fender on the plane Indiana's damn three again at eighteen to fifty. We'll bring it across the timeline. Takes it lap with the bass Bassett arrived Davis, high post, white and rot holes on hands. It off the fantasy then ac- now top of the key backs about back down left. Sizing throws it up blocked away out of bounds. That's gonna Balogh guy. You with nine on the shot clock team's gotta respect rob fantasy it going to the rim. He's really good and strong attacking. The basket is good at finishing around the rim. A little shot fake. There. Could do him some good draw? Foul and ask comes into Dorato. Evan pitzer. Now devante into sack. Robert Stilo turns around little jump bus. Zack Roberts with us. It's he came into the lineup. Back within a point at eighteen to seventy Paris, bats past OSA. Boyer turns top of the cave. Looks right. Goes right side with a pastor Bailey. Bailey. Hands are off to sills farces up another long when it's no good this time in the rebound comes courtesy. Tennessee brings it across the time wide left side. The devante quick free off badly off the Jalen Harrison, the rebound back the other way. Harris pushes it out the Isaiah Joe he'll pop up and he misses the great tipped away. And this time it's out of bounds off every pets ravers to tip it, but he got much on it. "At all. Here. We're the ball Whiteside. Jeremy drives inside soups it up and there's a blocking foul. How good is Alvin taking the ball for the rent. This has really turned it on. I'd say that second half of the big ten season started finally saying I got to be aggressive aggressive, aggressive aggressive grass attacking the basket has been that guy that Indiana can count on aggressive attacking the ram, but also shooting the basketball Durham at the free throw line which in Indiana seven quarterback Ty test and his first game. Indiana, rather Arkansas with another change that got Keyshawn Emory Simpson. The contest for the first time in the second shot by enormous. No good. And it's a fourteen seven Arkansas. Reggie Cheney top of the key gives right side to Cheney Cheney throws it back to Jones Jones. Now throws it outside into the hands of Isaiah Joe who's return now after he Sean Emery Simpson now download Cheney puts up a jump shot. Misses. The rebound comes off in the hands. Rob courtesy. He takes it to the right of the circle brings it to the top of the key with the dribble. Throws it back. Right to Jon Morgan now will drive inside nice feed at Davis who puts it up and his foul on the floor. Couldn't make the shot of fouls called and the whistle goes against Ethan Henderson, his first job much of a window open there for that well-balanced past. If that's really good action by Indiana's Biggs, the drive and kicked down to the big man to Ron Davis. Here's Davis is free up a ramp. Green checks back into the lineup, Indiana. Data's finish for his first rest and Garonne goes to the strike for one more sixty one percent free throw shooter on the season. The second one also, no good. Indiana's off to a bad start here from shooting perspective. Here's Isaiah Joe outside into the hands of Jones. Mason gels right-wing drives baseline off pulls up. Fires up a job for missed it. And the rebound comes through. Devante great. He pushes down a floor quickly slides to the lap pulls up backs backout still on the dribble left side past the mcroberts in Joon Morgan Morgan turns clears it outside of threw out about that was just a bad past the ipad pass. I think I've seen from Morgan kicking the ball on the low post Arkansas starting understand John's really go on the block they had three guys in the lane. Made him kick the ball out for free. That's just too narrow Indiana's got five turnovers already in this game. Here's a drive left by. Memory simpson. And they get her off the chain on the left baseline. He throws it back outside. The Henderson Anderson. Not Isaiah Joe Joe's top of the key goes right side to again Embree Simpson who holds onto it. Then dumps at the Cheney at the free throw line. He boxes inside. Isaiah Joe pros back outside the Jones. Mason jolts fires up a shot at the buzzer at had banks and Mason Jones's hit two big shots already for Arkansas..

"After another. But you know, at the end of the day. I'm hopefully, devante will be good. And you know, a little bit worried that he, you know, he's obviously was sick all week those guys get exhausted pretty quick when they when they get running up and down. So we're going to need all hands on Dacca thought a decent job force in that game. The other day play more minutes, and he's gonna have to play more today. As is demeaning matchups today now with gaffer out that concern you well, I think just guarding. Isaiah Joe is really something that we're going to have to be on. I mean, he's a guy that averages fifteen fourteen game. He's the best three point shooter in the SEC. And you know, he's a guy that can really dial it up. I also think there's some unique matchups when they play small can our front court defend all the cutting all the movement in transition because they can't put the ball on the floor and drive it a lot. More than most frontcourt players can. So you know to me this is going to be a game. If our defense is really going to have to be out in and locked it. I think they're one of the hardest teams to prepare for and play against just because they're going to do what they do regardless of what you do to me. There's aggressive is any team you'll play in terms of planes with speed and watch their first round game against providence providence, really to be honest with you after about the first two minutes of the game was in bad shape. You know, really bad shape. They hit them up from three they were in transition whole game. And they made it difficult on providence with their up zone as well. So I think we'll have to do that. Lineup the same as it was Tuesday. I think so we're going to stay with their three guard lineup if we can here tonight. This is on the perimeter of will give us a little bit of problems with was some of their match ups. So we're going to have to play a little bigger and we'll see, but I think those three guards to start the game will be our best chance of being ready coach. Thank you. Archie miller. The head coaches report, we'll be back with our scouting report. Brought to you by Nissan on this ball club that the hoosiers. Take on today off very good, Arkansas ball club basketball, the caresource radio network from learfield. IMG college and Indiana University fulfilling.

"Year long and the first matchup against Indiana. Daniel gaffer absolutely dominated the game. He was the most athletic biggest threat on the inside. And and absolutely turned the game around for Arkansas without him today. Arkansas is going to be a much different team athletically now they could be harder to guard. And that's the thing. That's scary. For this Indiana team without gathered on the inside Arkansas is much less predictable offensively they're gonna play really fast. They're going to push the ball up the court, and you don't know where the points are gonna come from now two guards for Arkansas, really good. Isaiah Joe and Mason Jones are two really good shooters at six foot five there long athletic, and they can score in bunches in Indiana. I think defensively today Dan has got to have all five guys understanding who you're guarding. And how Arkansas can sports and how the guy you're guarding in store. It's going to be much more of a. Team match up and just be locked in zeroed in on the guy that your garden because without gaffer on the inside Indiana does not have to worry about. How are we gonna come? With a double team. Are we gonna front the post? It's going to be much more about individual matchups, Indiana. Sprinting back in transition defensively and understanding who you're guarding and keeping the ball in front. Now, not only can you guys hear me because I can't hear a thing at any rate. Both gaffer and Romeo Lankford are out. So the top two scores for these two teams are really not a factor in Walberg. Yeah. That's going to be the key for both of these teams playing without their stars trying to get the ball offensively where it needs to be scoring consistently each and every possession, Indiana without Romeo Langford. It's going to be a key for some of these other guys. Like, Al Durham, devante green Morgan have got to step up offensively in the same goes for Arkansas. Daniel Gifford is less of a score. Then Romeo Langford is just as big. Impact? He's a guy that could be a lottery pick first rounder for sure on the most athletic is on the court each and every game Arkansas steps on the court. Daniel gaffer will surely be missed here today along with Romeo length. Hoosier. Well, there's no question. This is a basketball team both. These teams are teams that had slumps in the middle of the season. And then, of course, get hot at the and there's that factor in this matchup today. I think it does I think both teams are playing. Well, right now, I was really impressed with the second half for Indiana without Romeo Langford net. First matchup, Indiana, look, slow and sluggish in the first half. They really turn it around Arkansas played really fast and their first NIT IT Matra this team scored over eighty point pushing the ball up and down the court. They're even tougher to guard right now, they're playing really well this season without. In the middle of that offense guards feeling more free looser shooting the basketball playing with a lot of confidence right now. I think these teams Donna playing really well. And you asked me before we went on the air nervous start to get a little nervous. Has got a great chance to win this game. Even without Daniel gathered in the game a win today. I guess the good Arkansas team, I think would be a very good victory. The NFL on their home floor to advance one step closer. Well, we look forward to bring you the play by play story. It's Indiana and Arkansas and the.

And then the freshman. Isaiah Joe hit three three pointers in the last. Couple of minutes to close the gap to only one at halftime. Erin niece, but picked up his four semi Shittu picked up his fourth. But the Commodores got those guys back into the game. And we're really able to play all the way through until save and found out in the final minute of play Arkansas led by ten midway through the second-half. Within the cobbler's put on a rally led by the senior show toy a couple of three pointers. Joe had four three pointers on the evening as Vanderbilt came back. Took the lead briefly.
