"How about this one. mike The ravens and in the broncos the broncos as you talked about their three no ravens now with the help of a about a record setting sixty six yard. Field goal by tucker. They win the game last week. But not take on the broncos being. It'll be tough for the ravens. But i think it's kind of a team that each week after the loss each week they've gotten better and better and better and Like i said. I'm not sure. How good the broncos really are compared to who they played the jets and you know the few those teams so i. I don't know how. Good the broncos really are but they're gonna find out because i do think baltimore routine. Yeah let's see. Lamar can keep it together. And not do what he did. Against the raiders and start turn out over all over the place. The buccaneers and the pats so tom. Tom is on his his his world. Tour right now. He plays the rams okay. Now he's got to go back and face His old team and his old coat. Well it just. I wouldn't want beat new england these the all time competitor and there's going means so much to him. I can't imagine them. Yeah not going up there and put a liquid on on. The pats are just not very good raiders acid game. That's the game of the week. It's going to be a fun thing to watch. You know. I think charges beat them. I really do to keep pace with the chargers. They'll get after the quarterback. He'll get that ball fast. Yep yep mike. I know we've got more to talk about but we don't have any more time. We're going to have to wrap it up. But i want to wrap it up with this one little note here. I don't know if you've got a chance to see this college. Football notre dame play wisconsin last saturday. And this kid. This young man came in for notre dame after the starting quarterback got hurt. The third string quarterback came in named drew pine and drew pine is a nephew of jim. Pyne remember played in. Nfl former off into linemen. And this kid mike it it. He went down the field in that second half and he got the victory. And i'll tell you what it was that moment where like that. Newt rock knee moment. Where you know. The coach looks over and says who do we have. Who do we have go and boy. He's chewing on his mouth piece. Mike and the place is full. It's in chicago. Is wisconsin and notre dame in chicago but the energy and the enthusiasm. I got goosebumps watching this kid. That's what it's all about. That's that moment. This.

"Now threatened rounds. Now i i. I don't see anyone on a scheduled this top path. That should beat them. I really don't later on. There'll be some games at tricky and seattle. Seattle to me is lost in. It's like you said last week if they can't complete those deep race routes down the field with metcalf in with lock it then. They're lost and they were able to run the ball with carson area in minnesota but it it wasn't enough once once they take away teams. Take away that big play. It seems like it's going to be replayed last year member. They start off last year for vitamin and and he was throwing those deep balls or talking about. Mvp and they took the deep ball way. They couldn't score. They couldn't move all defensively. They're not very good. Really not very good on offense. You can't really run the ball very well. They're to have to find. You know defensively. They got better is year one on last year. Hopefully that'll happen but they're they're not gonna win that division. There's just no way now not with the rams and Cardinals and those teams in san francisco. That's tough division. Yeah it's a tough decision. I mean there's there's a lot of good teams there and and not only she's wanting to be good paper but the play play. Well that's that's a whole nother deal but anyway. So let's look ahead here mike Get the jaguars and bengals coming up on thursday and i watched that jaguars game a jaguar cardinal game and you know the the young young man lawrence. He he makes some nice throws and you can see his his talent level but then he made the one throw on the pick six. Not so sure. He wasn't trying to throw that away as backfoot foot and didn't get enough on it. Because i looked at it. It looked to me like he's defender but he's trying to throw it over their heads so because he was still in the audit he didn't want to just didn't get enough on at sometimes. That happens and people think that was dumb thrown. I've had that happen with quarterbacks. They couldn't get enough on to get it out of bounds. Soak i'ma give. Yeah he options. They just got to get him. Yeah three they. Just don't give him enough of a conference place. You know what i mean you know. Quick throws the slants the some of those things Under routes drags and some of them just to get him gone. You know they're trying to bombs away with him too much. And i think that's that's hard because now you ended up in these third ten seconds. Ten situations in those aren't doable. Long-haul three losses. That's that's more than his total college career. A believe so. He's he's he's getting a new hit perspective as it is. Urban meyer urban. Say to somebody after the game. They caught it on tape. He said week is actually in alabama melissa. Zero t will be exhausted. I promise you it will be exhausted. Welcome to the show my friend. All right so The rest of the schedule for this week. Mike I'm just looking real close here..

"Be. Obviously there are some some big wins in the rams and in the bucks. So start with that one Boy that that was that was kind of the showcase game that the league has been waiting on and it finally happened and I just thought the bucks. They didn't look right from the start. And then i saw gronkowski do something. I've never seen dropped the ball in jamal. Being dropped an easy interception and Stafford was skipping are really and then once he settled in. Yeah yeah that's all. It could be to him. They i think they felt like they. Witnessing than there isn't anything will stop and i think that's the case too. I think they're clearly way on for everybody with the exception of buffalo you know. I think they're the best team. Allegra a buffalo challenge him. I think the. I think the cowboys are starting to be who had thought they would be years ago. They still are given up too many big plays in the back end. But i think the rams yeah hate. They're scary team to play right now. You know if. I'm a quarterback. I don't wanna get. I don't wanna get any debt center Aaron donald and now he's blown snot. Bows after going your name out. You know so. Let's got best guy shake anybody know. They're violent football team. They really are and violent. Football teams make big plays because intimidate you guys remind you of the eighty six bands. Okay eighty five. Bears remind you of the giants team. Baltimore eighty six on ninety of of baltimore. Yeah you're right the ravens team. Here with ray lewis or you hit it violence play. I don't know that you can play football in a quiet docile mood. It helps sometimes to be a little well. You know the thing about. We've stuck by this. Time is because getting emotional like we had a coach when they talked to the team. When i was that washington. We're planning our monday night. Game he talked about the importance of monday night football. Bring your best whole world's washington. And i was thinking about A why why. Would you wait till monday night..

"You know we may discuss defense. They may have a wrecking ball. Defense number one ranked defense but at the end of the conversation. He would always say you know what win will probably end up. Won't put forty against this team. So that is something for my thinking and i'm sure did something for the other guys thinking that you know we can have this. You know tampa bay bucks defense. That is smashing. People with hall of fame is on it but at the same time we can move the ball. We can do what we do. As long as we keep the focus on who we are and execute isaac. You know since you played the game has changed a little bit but is there a receive out there that you That you really like. That's kind of your favorite that you have fun. Watching has earned that impresses you more than the others. I'm initially drawn to De'andre optics on you know we got. We have a similar bill. I think I think he's a he's a. He strongest catching the ball. As far as kind of like tori was kind of like todd. Kitchen you strong. His hands and and He likes he likes to get in. The mix elects likes to mix it up. i call him a football player. I in a wide receiver. Second he can do everything that you that you that you look for in a wide receiver. He's a you know one of those guys that has it all route running a run after catch catching the football Being able to Be aware what's what's going on down in distance those things i mean. That's the first guy that i see. There's some other guys that that i like. I like watching. I like to watch play. But the andrea hopkins. Is that guy that you know. I pay money to go watch him. Is there a team that you like in terms of the super bowl. That's kind of your favorite or he kind of love to watch every sunday that you can make an effort to see if i'm not watching. Iran's been homer. I'm definitely looking out for kansas city. And what they do i think From top to bottom you know. Starting a coach andy reid airbnb and moving onto the players homes in talent that they have on the perimeter. You know i is is very similar to what we have like the way they they have that offensive offensive mindset. I mean they. They like taking ground. They like Keeping the players involved mentally as far as formations motions movements and stuff similarly a lot similar to what we add and they they make plays they. Were down the field. They like taking their shots..

"I i could see you. You're glib doing. tv any any thoughts about that. I did a few games for the astros last year. enjoyed it. It was fun. But i enjoy being around the players and kind of being a part of a team and i and i love the coaching aspect of it. I feel like that. The things that i learned over the course of my playing career Could benefit the guys. That are playing today so i love to pass along a experience in information and doing things like i did with carpe. This offseason i mean that really is is where my I think my passion lies when you were coaching yet. Andy pettitte is. What are your assistance. That had to be the most veteran staff. I'm guessing in the league. You were in a you. Think other teams reverend intimidated. Look over and said well. That's a lot of big league experience on the other side ended. The kids all know your resume is years. Ago isaac bruce. He was coaching receivers in high school football. And he tells kid how to block them feeling kids. But what are you know. Well you could. You could probably look me up. Did the kids know your careers and you think it was intimidating to the other teams. Well i think. I mean. I don't know about intimidating. I do know that like whenever we were playing. We got the other teams best game because whether it's the opposing coaching staff for the players. You know they kinda wanna like you know. Hey we we beat these guys But yeah the kids are about the. I've had that kind of same experience. That isaac bruce did some everybody every kid's different but you definitely get a few that are less Coach -able than others and It doesn't take long for the allure of having a couple of former big leaguers to them. You're just their coach so Yeah i think. Initially especially when i first started there was a little bit of that You know man starstruck wherever you want to call it from the players but that that were operating quick and then it becomes kind of a typical player coach relationship which i enjoy and They they kind of me is not a former major leaguer. But just their coach. Are you have one of the greatest nicknames in big puma you. One of the most insulting nicknames fed elvis who gave you each name and you go by.

"I think he's one of those upper echelon quarterbacks and any time you have a quarterback at the lead Like that with defensive minded coaches and Pete Carroll, a guy who can, you know for four quarters, he could piecing things together and have a great defense along with what Russell Wilson to man that there's definitely a team that You have to keep your island. I mean, they're seven and three. They had some games where they probably just went happy with the performance. But at the same time they've had some games. Where you know Russell Wilson was just He was just magnificent and its approach and these guys have played Americans on the offense. And you know they're definitely a threat not only to the NFC West, but the energy of the home. Love for us, but that defense man, it's brutal. Yeah, I know. You put up 100 something yards and almost everybody, but I think you put up like 200 yards if you played that defense It'll be fun. It'll be fun to get it get an opportunity, But to be honest, I think you know they have some guys coming back on that defense inside of football, and I think you'll see a little change in the next coming weeks as far as they approach Defensively. Tell me what you got cooking right now with your foundation, The Isaac Bruce Foundation, also your podcast ramblings, which could be found on the believe in Ram's podcast network. Yeah. We just completed a live auction, which were willing Well, we're in the process. There's nobody come when we would put together a gala, but we're always accepting donations. Donations. New sponsorships from partners. People wanted partner with us and help us make up impact. Always gonna find everything that we're doing on Isaac Bruce got ord. And go there get all the information, but it's just one in the podcast itself is really fun. I do it and I hosted with former college teammate of mine Markets holiday and we do a great job just featuring the Rams and everything that rant go through every game that they played. We give a preview later in the week, and it's fun to do. Now, do you ever think when you replying you would be involved in the media world? You ever think that Not really wasn't wasn't really a big media guy. I thought they were a little ovations for my liking. But you know, as time went on, I knew that they had a job to do as well and just knew the combination between the business side of what we do in the entertainment side of what we do. It had to be dispersed somehow, so therefore the media was always there, and they did their job and did it well. You ever get into a good, uh, altercation? Little fight with the media? Those were always my favorite stories. Is there one that still stands out to you after all these years? On Media Day. Super Bowl Super Bowl 34. I think me and Rick Reilly. We had a little back and forth. Really? Uh, it was It was pretty interesting. You know, I felt like He almost got me came temple, which was probably his goal, But you know, he failed miserably in the end. So, uh, it's funny, funny side of the story of what exactly happened with you and Rick Honestly, we just we just got here. We kind of got into a conversation about family, the late golfer that it's explain. Crashed. I think weeks before the Super Bowl actually was taken paid places Super Bowl 34. We just got into a conversation about it about my beliefs about Rick's personal beliefs. And what what he may have thought I was the golfers belief. His name is slipping my mind right now, but Payne Stewart. You know Payne Stewart He's got Yes. So we just kind of, you know, kind of went back and forth here. I tried to quit because I'm a peacemaker at heart and you know, but it got a little rough, But like I said he felt miserable. Interesting. I'm sure there's probably some clip of it somewhere after looking at now, Media day at the Super Bowl, it's not gonna be obviously what it once was This your who even knows what it's gonna look like it probably be all via zoom. Some of those questions get asked now where it's a show. It really is a showdown. One thing is the opportunity for players and people of the media. I mean, you can mean as we see, We think guys make their names or make their names a little bit more famous than they are at media dates, so No people could take that opportunity to really to just ask him out, land his questions or come out and some outlandish costumes and you know people could make names for themselves. It's an opportunity and a platform for The guys who were performing in the Super Bowl and the guys who were covered in it. One last thing for you Just get him back when we talk about your favorite catch, So your best career catch or when I asked you that question. It was actually not even one of your catches. It was Ricky Proles. Absolutely. That's it. That's amazing. See, it speaks to the type of teammate that yard, you know, because when you said, I'm thinking, I go he's talking about Ricky's catch. Not not not to catch that he made and that was the question. That's that's a good job at you. That shows the type of team mate you are do anything good for Thanksgiving this year. Yeah, I'm being thankful, man. Being grateful. Um, you know, it's it's been 20,020 has been. Ah, year for me full of bounty and full of goodness. So I'm enjoying it, Uh, just spending time with my family. We got a chance to really reminiscent. Be thankful having our power, So I'm looking forward to that. Well, keep up the great work. We'll talk to you on the road. Thanks so much. No problem. There is the pro Football Hall of Famer Isaac Bruce..

"How about the L. A Rams Huge week 11 victory on Monday night football last night against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bucks fall to seven and four Rams improved to seven and three and now joining us to talk about the Ramses, a former Rams wide receiver. He's a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and did win a Super Bowl championship with the Rams. And that, of course, is Isaac Bruce here with us today on behalf of the Isaac Bruce Foundation, and also his podcast ramblings that could be found by searching, believe that's B l E A V and rams Mr. Isaac Bruce. Thanks for the time how you've been my friend. I've been good man. Thanks for having me on the show tonight. No problem. Always do appreciate when you come on, so I know I remember talking to in the summer. You were very optimistic about the Rams. I know that they're seven and three right now, and they're firing on all cylinders. Does this that all surprise you is this kind of what kind of expected before the year began. Oh, they're pretty much part. Of course, in my eyes that my perspective, I think that you know, one of the biggest surprise because you just how affected the running game has spent. We've made a commitment to run the football. We're doing it by running back by committee right now. But, you know, we all know it starts in the end, but what we can do up front for the offensive line is concerned. They did a great job, uh, in a Seattle been Monday night game kind of Changed itself where we had to do a lot of passports, you know, other than running the football, but You know, the guys stepped up and gave Jerry golf the time to go to football and and, you know, we're 73 right now lead the NFC West. I think to be that jumps right off the page relic at the Rams this year. It's been the defense and there was a lot of criticism in the offseason. Moving on from Wade Phillips, bringing in Brandon Staley. This defense. You look at every statistical category, their top five in the league. This defense been awesome. Absolutely mad. I think when you mentioned the Los Angeles Rams, you have to start off with Aaron, Donald and company just everything that those guys ever are able to do. Uh, From Ah, talent standpoint, I think they ran czar right there. I think Aaron Donald. He sets the table. You know, you have to give attention to one that gives Coach Daly the leeway to really scheme. His defense. Based on what offense wants to take away from my defense and make that focal point on Aaron Donald. That way you can play in the back half of the defense. Ah love it. More man coverage. You can have your press your packages on. Not only that, but, well, we've done a great job this year and last night in particular getting pressure on quarterbacks with just a four man rush. Anytime you could do that, man. You gonna have a great defense? No, I did that. Last night. They rattle Tom Brady throughout the game, and he had two interceptions and never looked comfortable. I look at this NFC West. We all know it's the best division in football and it's a three team race to see who's going to emerge at the top. I look at the Rams defense Isaac Bruce. I know their offense. It's a good offense, but I don't think it's the strength of this team. Defensively. I think that's going to be the difference maker because the Cardinals their defense is hit or miss, and the Seahawks defense has been bad throughout the year. Absolutely. I mean, it's kind of like I just mentioned I don't think the defense getting enough credit for the way that they played this for 10 games into the season. So, uh, Aaron Donald? I mean, I just can't stop saying his name is the guy that I believe that should be up for N b N V P Talks just just is his impact on the defense how it effects on offense. How would a defect is his teammates and you don't give other guys on that front line one on one opportunity because those guys could really show what they're made of that they could just unleashed their potential. When another guy like Aaron, Donald is in the mix. You know the league don't don't give it to a quarterback this year. I'm absolutely you're an offensive guy. You know that pro football of Famer Isaac Bruce here with us. How about the two wide receivers? Last night? They put on a clinic, Cooper Cup 11 for 1 45 and Robert Woods, 12 for 1 30 a touchdown. Absolutely. You know what I was just really amazed wasn't shocked at all. But just, uh, greatly amazed just to see those guys get the ball in their hands, And that's when they started to dance, It seems, is it. The game plan was to Combat the pressure that the book's wanted to put on Jared Golf in the best way to do that. It's kind of moved the pocket, get the ball out of his hands pretty fast. And when you got guys like Robert Woods Cooper Cup You can really dance with them when the ball is in their hands and their their threat to take it to the house anywhere on the field, So just had two guys with over 10 catches with accumulating 275 yards receiving man have a special man. Is there one wide receiver and football that to you is your favorite to watch or D kind of just like the watch a bunch of guys with wide receiving position. You know, I like I like DeAndre Hopkins. I really liked watching and playing like Rubio play. What I really enjoy watching. Just sitting back and seeing the maturation of a young guy come into the least DK Metcalf is one of those guys. I mean, he started a little slow last year, but in the second year you could see the development the things that he worked on that in the offseason. Start to come to fruition, so I really want. I really liked watching young guys start to mature and get comfortable in the game slows down for that. And we all know you became a pro football hall of Famer is we're talking Isaac Bruce. But when was it that you start to really feel in your career that you were starting to show those signs that Hey, not only gonna be a good wide receiver, you were gonna be a great wide receiver. 1994. I was the third receiver for about eight weeks and at about the eighth or ninth week of the season, I felt like I was ready to go. I had started starting the second half of games. A Z Z receiver on the team and my confidence was really high, and it was at that moment when the game started slow down for me, and I felt like I could go out and start to produce. Increase some stuff on my own. So it took me about eight weeks on after that, you know, it was just full go from there. That catch by the way by Hopkins two weeks ago. How do you badge a process that will you know? Because Alan, it was a great throw great catch by digs. But then the Murray Hopkins thing was out of this world. Well, you know the kiss itself. I mean, the quarterback. You had a lot of credit as they should. Murray. He did everything he could. He could to make sure that plate could happen. And deliver your football. But when you look at the catch itself, looking at DeAndre Hopkins to 61 surrounded by, uh, two pro bowlers, one all pro, really three guys, their best three defensive backs. And really out jumps all three of them to come down with a game winning touchdown catch is everything that every athlete or football player that's ever put on the helmet you want. Please like that, And just so happens the Andre was just right there. They just solidified and Great plate, and he deserves everything that he got before that, please. Concern was the long TD snagged that you had in the Super Bowl. Was that your favorite catch of all time and you look back at your career. You know, it's my second best catch, man. I tell a lot of people that you know it's up my top five..

"On CBS Sports Radio. How about the L. A Rams Huge week 11 victory on Monday night football last night against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bucks fall to seven and four. Rams improved to seven and three and now joining us to talk about the Ramses, a former Rams wide receiver. He's a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and did win a Super Bowl championship. With the Rams. And that, of course, is Isaac Bruce here with us today on behalf of the Isaac Bruce Foundation, and also his podcast ramblings that could be found by searching, believe that's B l E A V and rams Mr. Isaac Bruce. Thanks for the time. How you've been my friend. Of course, in my eyes that my perspective, But, um, I think that you know, one of the biggest surprise because you just how affected the running game has spent. We've made a commitment to run the football. We're doing it by running back by committee right now. But, you know, we all know it starts in the end, but what we can do up front as far as that all kinds of Linus concerning They did a great job, uh, in a Seattle been Monday night game kind of Changed itself where we had to do a lot of passports, you know, other than running the football, but You know, the guys stepped up and gave Jerry golf the time to go to football and and, you know, we're 73 right now lead the NFC West. I think when you mentioned the Los Angeles Rams, you have to start off with Aaron, Donald and company just everything that those guys every are able to do. Uh, From Ah, talent standpoint, I think I think The rands. All right there. I think Aaron Donald, he sets the table. You know, you have to give attention to him. That gives Coach Daly the leeway to really scheme. His defense. Based on what offense wants to take away from my defense and make that focal 0.1. Erin Donald. That way you can play in the back half of the defense, Live it more man coverage. You can have your pressure packages on. Not only that, but, well, we've done a great job this year and last night in particular getting pressure on quarterbacks with just a four man rush. Anytime you could do that, man. "They've they've got some guys injured and they've they're not been kind of spidey on defense but i with the way cousins and in the way they run the football the way they're plan right now As a tough offense supply. Yeah and it shows you how important one receiver can be to the other. I think when digs was there it. It opened up a lot of things for For theon yes watch. But i tell you the kid i like. I like this. Justin jefferson in the sun man. He's fun to watch. And my he i didn't you know he. You talk about. Isaac bruce and how he could eat up so much ground in he could do that. You know his first ten yards off the ball. I see that in this kid. He eats up a lot of ground in in a in a few steps. You know it's funny. You said that's exactly how i felt. I watched him. He has that. Stride is against such a long strike. That was a quick stride. So i mean he got into jerry mmediately and then he could keep that stride in and out of cuts which most guys just can't do but he knew that. Now that's what. I seen this kid to jefferson. I think and he's just got so much energy to him and he's he just making placer. It's tough offense right now. The to those dealing and he are a really problematic for any defense. When you look how well they rushed the football. Green bay seventy two going into the colts now in that. That's to be a good one. Talk about indian how smart they play in the defence This one could give green bay some issues one. I i think green bay if they can get back in and start pounding like they did at the beginning of the year. I think that's their best chance. Then take some pressure off rogers because that's a relied defense. Now they're gonna make it really difficult in. Of course you know. I think of the quarterback special. But you know i think Right now indies one of those teams with that big red arrow headed up. Yeah yeah you know. I i i Going back to indian green bay There's a guy indianapolis defense grover stewart number. Ninety doesn't get a lot of pub. Maybe it's because of where they are in the country or the wreck. I don't know. I mean they're they're playing well but this guy. He takes care of the middle of that field. Mike and you know how you were talking about. How important That inside guy. Is that big three technique or even nose tackle is to stop the run will..

F. yeah you know we talk about the cheese we can say whatever you want we talk about patching homes and that's what we talk about in so I just kind of think it's fun because we're gonna ultimately see because we always say what what is football field for team sport right you win championships as a team no matter how this thing goes were if San Francisco wins we're gonna be saying see the best team do all these different things that's why they won the Superbowl right right Kansas city wins we're gonna forget about all the other fifty two guys I'm gonna say where is the best player can transcend even the best team in the NFL and win the Superbowl and so it's just to me it's fun because I'm a quarterback obviously so to watch patch of my homes and what he's done in the early part of his career he's just a joy to watch and I it's gonna be awesome to see on the big stage but San Francisco is built if anybody's built to be here more to slow him down it's San Francisco and so I just thought you know I love the match up I think it's gonna be so much fun in there so many great storylines with in that as well with the talk unit against unit well you talk kindle in Kelsey I mean there's there's just so many great things about this match up and so it's fun to be able to talk about it for a week especially since I have to talk about it for but they give you a lot of things to talk about in this match up Kurt Warner is the voice you hear pro football hall of Famer Superbowl champion simple every P. and forty niner hater yeah go to the students Disney Tom and I I mean this one's easy for me because as a player you know you grow up with certain things that you want to accomplish kinda say I've made it you know you want to be honest that cover Sports Illustrated at least when I was a kid that was that the big thing or you want to be on sports center have your face up there and you want to be the guy after the Superbowl that saying I'm going to Disney world yeah I think so twenty years ago I said somebody remind me twenty years ago yesterday was when I played in my first Superbowl man at the end I was the one that got to say I'm going to Disney world and it is turned into a twenty year relationship with is the you know when you you do that you're like oh I don't know what that means is I I played really well in the big game yeah exactly right but for twenty years I have partnered with Disney in make a wish and every year we take eight to ten make a wish families to Disney with us and spent an entire week with them and Disney doesn't incredible job of taking care of them and plus in these families in a special way in so that relationship started twenty years ago and so we all know Disney's kind of being synonymous with the Superbowl MVP or the or the Superbowl in general well I get to announce to you guys that Disney has now become the presenting sponsor of the Superbowl MVP ceremony nice and so we will see that on Sunday evening and then they're going to make a huge announcement of initiative they have with make a wish in how they're going to continue to do what both those organizations do anyways and that's make dreams come true make wishes come true for these families and so it's just an honor that to to know that commercial that every kid wants to be a part of turned into a fabulous relationship because of who Disney is and what they do and what their goal is is to impact the lives of people and they're going to continue to do that through the Superbowl MVP through the I'm going to Disney world campaign and we're going to see them and now something on Sunday that pushes that forward in a big way I believed him Jimmy grovel gets to be part of that effort order joins us now live right here on Miami in a lucky hot seat sponsored exclusively by lucky lucky California the Golden State of eating Dave kind of stole my thought I was good at heart so when George kill people from Disney will be there to make you mouse that argument I didn't know they got a G. Q. that would be great George Kendall would be awesome in a parade I'm really but I you know that would be plus watch TV is that what you gonna do was the grand marshal of the parade so yeah I mean who knows but again everybody wants you not to be that guy sure it's so iconic only so many people have been able to to do that is so I can't wait to get is that it's kind of like if you guys watch March madness right now he always wait to the end and the one shining moment to see all those highlights it's the same with the Superbowl is you you pay attention afterwards to the the M. B. P. ceremony because you want to see okay who is the one that's going to say I'm going to Disney world so I'm waiting for that just like everybody else either way Kurt Warner takes his family to Disney world or land as a California we go to Lana yeah what's the number one right wow I I'm a roller coaster guy through and through and so I love Everest Mount Everest it's roller coasters at Disney world that's a disease rice mountain in days announcer but this and then we actually don't and there's a there's a period where you actually go backwards yeah on the roller coaster coming down we see what is that yeah but I take another another new one is that they have the avatar well yes land yeah and on the wall that is incredible I mean from the graphics that they have because the simulator ride to the to the feel of it that just opened up a couple years ago and that's really pushing it yeah I can give you a third one toy store yeah where you get to you get to score points yeah you know all the families when we go down there love to do that if you can see who can score the most points I'm sorry I but I don't and so I got all these rides that we your heart for the old school it's nineteen seventy two **** rug black and white TV pirates of the carribean.

"With the Rams Legend Isaac Bruce a future hall of Famer. And we won't be saying that much longer Isaac joining us now and Tell me the anticipation I know. This is the fourth time as a finalist for the hall of fame does this one feel different authors about the first drive me on the show man And I think and you should be practicing hall of Famer without the future in front of it you know just getting a mirror distort do it and doing what I do but it doesn't feel doesn't feel much different I think You know the atmosphere. I think that's the big difference that You know that will experience you know when it been with super people being here in south Florida and my friends have family For the most part are here in south Florida. So Oh that's great anticipation. Excitement and expectation level is is very high. Remind everybody the process. You're there at the super bowl super super exciting. You were in Atlanta last year. Minneapolis two years ago. Houston three years. I don't need to remind you but you're in a hotel room and they basically say well if you knock on the door you're in if we don't go get some pizza. I mean it's it's kind of brutal isn't it. Well that's that's what they tell you at the lunch. I mean once you know. So you have your your introduction luncheon They kind of let you know the process of You know how you're going to be selected or how you how you're how your body of work is is going to be scrutinized and how the the the are you going to be selected and then you know they kind of tell you if you're GonNa if you get a call that means You didn't make it this year but hopefully you'll be back as finalist. The Knicks here. Now if you get the knock on the door You know you know the president of the football hall of Fame David Baker. You know it. It'll be his knock He'll be backed up by a camera crew. And and you you get congratulated. You get a chance to you. Know off appraises cry and family. So that that's the process. So over the last few years that you've never had housekeeping knock at the door like and you thought Oh my God I'm getting in no false alarms Nassar with Atlanta I think Last year my room was not far from Robert Brazile. Who who who who got? Who got inducted last year so around that time around the knock edge or the college time you know your your ears become sensitive to certain stuff and I'm looking for knock so I hear a knock on the door? I mean I hear the Knoxville blatantly that I I actually start walking towards the door and I hear people talking in the hallway so when when I when I hear the voices of you know Mr Baker and other people and they're not talking to me. I kinda knew what was going on happening somewhere else than it wasn't my door. So you know full start you you know it is. It is a process it happens to a lot of players I think. Harry Carson famously said the giants great linebacker said. Stop calling me. Because he would be a finalist every year and he wouldn't get then he said. Just take my name off the damn list and I think he got in the next year. You're a better man than I. How do you avoid? Maybe bitterness is too strong but even frustration stray Shin with the process. Because your numbers are they didn't change from last year or the year before. I'm you still got two thousand. Twenty four receptions fifteen thousand thousand plus yards ninety one touchdowns I mean. None of that has changed. How do you avoid some level of frustration? Well you know what they're just like you know the president of the pro football hall of fame knocks on your door. I I mean I am human and frustration knocks on my door will I think you know we're out of. I'm at a point in my life where I deal with frustration I can. I can either accept. Open the door to frustration. Or you know I can just keep the door close many times. I just choose to keep the door closed Martin and You know I think about you. Know the great things that are happening and transpiring in my life at that moment number one You know being a son of the the most high number to my family My my wife and I we have a great marriage. My children my friends and family The career that I have had planned football and things like that. So that that puts me in a position to be grateful and Not only just being a finals again. I mean you know when you when you think about about the numbers and miss the Baker he mentioned these numbers Pretty much every year. I've been there about thirty between twenty five and thirty thousand people I have actually played Football and how you dwindle the numbers down from from all the way down from that to The three hundred plus that are already in the pro football hall of fame to this next group fifteen. That are actually sitting in the same room as you. I mean it can it can. It's humbling Omelet I mean. You just think about those numbers and see where you are It's very cream of the crop so I'm grateful for each time. I've been a finalist list. Each time my body of work has gone before the committee and and You know been scrutinized. I mean I'm grateful for you. Mentioned being around on family there in South Florida you're the thirteenth of fifteen children. I don't know if you and I we talked a lot over the years. Ever talked about Isaac Bruce The kid and you're a skinny guy. I'm wondering was not enough food for you being the thirteenth to fifteen. What was life like growing up in South Florida I? It was great. Man I mean you know You know my my parents had My siblings and I and set and I always like to say groups of five so you had the first five the second five live then that lasts five which is my five You know I have eight sisters and six brothers and tell people when you have eight sisters that means you have nine mothers others. So you know they're they're they're at a place their maturity level Where most of them can be my actual mom and the same thing goes with my my brothers? They had a maturity level. Where you know at an early age in my life they they could've been my parents so It was fun. It was different I didn't like for friends At times I didn't like enemies They're all right there in the household at times but you know there was a genuine miss. How my parents? It's made sure that we were all connected together Not only from our looks not only from our personalities but from the very essence of just loving each other other supporting everyone so and it's still very evident to this statement. It's great to have been born into the family that I was born into into this great city South Florida Fort Lauderdale House right. Now tell me you don't have to send Christmas cards Easter forever. You have to do every family and then you get nieces. He says you get nephews and cousins. And have you had to keep up. If you would put hallmark lex. You keep them in business. Well you know what thank God we celebrate those two holidays that you mentioned You know just just the birthdays and You know what's funny now We have nieces and nephews. They're having birthday parties and and window gotTA get ready to celebrate those but it's always fun always fun to see each other again and it just seemed to match ration- of everyone knows where the way we are growing in life and and you know how we're still here for each other and I mean you know when you have a family like mine. You don't lack for anything. I mean anything thing that you need or you may think that you need. There's a person or a person in that in that in that group and that circle that we have that can fulfil that knee. You know. What's interesting is you're really smart guy? Know that and you care about education you come back to Saint Louis. Your Foundation work is really the high school kids and making sure they're on track. And then I see coming out of high school. You're going to go to purdue you didn't have the sat score. And I said this is one of the smartest guys I've been around the league and I'm just wondering you know. Was it something were you. Didn't make it a priority as a younger guy not at all I mean. That's I mean that's exactly it Martin. I mean I thought you know. Football was was just it. You know just go out play football do your thing half on and and you know just live life from there. But you know I didn't it wasn't it wasn't a point where you know I couldn't and do the work it's about being Diligent versus being lazy so I chose to be lazy in some areas and other areas. That could be a tad bit more diligent so I did that with football. Then do that with academics and it costs me and always like to say you know what cost me an opportunity to play in the the big ten We're football big. Academics is is is very big and made me go a different route and you know the from what we do in the foundation now. We made education a priority We'd like rewarding students for education prowess and those who are making strides in education. We'd like to be on the forefront and make sure they have an opportunity to be rewarded for what they do in the classroom as well as on on on their sportsman. I hope you know.

"It's odd to me that we're getting this conversation on the AFC side and not on the NFC side. They were asking Patrick Mahomes, if he thinks this is a passing of the torch a changing of the guard in the AFC, which is a tough question to ask the younger player. You're certainly not gonna ask Tom Brady that, but why are we not talking about that with Gerry Goffin in drew Brees? Why do we think drew Brees who turned forty last week is is going to continue playing at a high level? But Tom Brady what I got. I got a bone to pick with that. And makes no sense. It makes no sense. We're not asking Jerry doff this question. But we are asking Patrick Mahomes. Do you believe this is a changing of the guard? There's still a long ways to go. I mean, I'm I'm a young young guy. He's done so much in this league is still doing it to this day. And so I mean, he he he's gonna play for some more years to come. So I mean, I'm always strive to do some of the things that he's done with the Super Bowls that he's won. I mean that's the ultimate goal. And I mean, he's he's not trying to pass it pass the torch anytime soon, I mean, he's he's played at a high level this year, and I expect him to keep playing at this level for at least another couple of years. Yeah. I expect that to not three five two checks in and says, I'm ignoring spy gate, and he's a cheater always Willoughby. A cheater, no integrity. You know, it's just that. We know that he cheated. You know, what I mean like you to tell me that they were the only team cheat in for. How could they have done this and cheated under the spotlight for the last twenty years and still get to the champion is telling me they're standing there in the spotlight when everybody's watching them on deflate gate on spy gate on whatever's going on I and again, I'm not saying, it's okay? I'm just saying you are not going to convince me that the patriots are the only team in the league that has ever done anything like this. They're the team that keeps winning because they have the best quarterback, most coaches will tell you what we're we're we're gonna do. This is what we're gonna do. We don't care if you practice. You can the Packers are going to run a sweep on you. The Steelers are going to run trap. So go ahead and film. This is what we're gonna do. So I mean that there were patriots did that it's no big thing you're going to get Gainesville. Anyway, I don't know I walk through a team before the Super Bowl is a little bit different than Dame film. I get that like back in the what was it the Rams Super Bowl early on one of the early? Maybe the Panthers Super Bowl that was the spy gate thing. I thought that was knows the Rams one. It was the first one it was the greatest show on turf that would have been the first one. I tell you what dude I had an option I would have been video practice. To be out there facing curl Warner and Tori Holt Isaac Bruce L, no still Faulk in the backfield is the other they had another Ricky parole. They had a couple of receivers. They just that were. I'd be taping this practice to Dave. No question. Call me, no integrity. If you want I want to win Super Bowls, man. That's all I care about Sean McVay cares about two which is why he went out. He made the change at running back, adding C J Anderson to the backfield C, J Anderson, of course, out of Vallejo here. The cow product made a great statement yesterday a baller. Yes. Jason baller. Thank you. Call shanahan. We got there. Give me one more time. Baller? J C J Anderson made a statement yesterday where he said, I think I'm the freshest running back in the league snap because of his threat. It's not because of the clothes. He's wearing because he says I was sitting on my ass for for half the season. He says I feel like a running back who hasn't hit his by week yet. And I think there's something to be said about that a fresh running back when everybody else has been playing for twenty weeks. This guy has not been taken a beating on his body. I know we're seeing these a little doughy your he's a little more doughy. What did they say the thicker than a snicker now is C J Anderson C, J Anderson? Here we go. Here's a Sean McVay on Todd Gurley and the impact that he sat on janitors. He's asked about you know, how we're doing our the running game. He's always quick to give credit to everybody else. He's definitely recognize what a good job CJ's done to help our football team. And I think when your best players had that mindset as far as it's about the team, and it's about how can we best win a football game. And I think he knows that being able to stay fresh while he's still our guy. But also then given CJ an opportunity to make some plays is best for the team right now. And. And I think that's a large credit to our leadership and anti being one of those key leaders. Yeah. The running game going to be a major factor for actually all these teams on Saturday contained Williams Qatar on Sunday condemning Williams continue his run as the chiefs running back and Sony Michelle and James why do what they've been doing? I think the answer is. Yes on that front because the chiefs defense while forced fumbles or they picked the ball off. They do not stop the Rutgers stop scores really fair effectively at all. And then, of course, on the other side big two-headed monsters in that NFC champ game. Do you get with the saints Camerin Ingram? And then with the Rams you get girly and C J Anderson a bunch of good running backs a bunch of match ups and all stuff we'll keep an eye on on Sunday. But tonight, we're going to have our is down in Los Angeles at the staple center. Warriors into Marcus cousins, vacant is debut. We gotta touch on some of this stuff as far as what Steve courageously yesterday. When he came on Tolbert and Lund here on some great comments, even comparing Kevin Durant to Michael, Jordan. We'll talk about it when we return to the leadoff spot on the sports leader remember court to be a forward pass. It's got to go forward. NBR's San Francisco. A Cumulus station. Hello..

"Bill writer and people can't stop listening. It's later than you with Bill later. Well, the back end of the show Isaac Bruce calling in here in a few minutes. So when he does, of course, we're gonna take his phone call but first eight five five two one two four CBS as full line. So we'll take your calls is a calls in will visit with him. We'll take more calls, and we'll keep doing calls next hour Larry in Myrtle Beach. Thank you for hanging out, buddy. You're on CBS sports radio. I love your show. Thank you. First of all, I got a statement. I am a tried and true patriots. But one thing I will tell rating is one of the fastest. And the reason I'm saying this is because think about it all the time. Do you think is the right place at the right? Look at ballot. Check I stopped his head coach, right? Did he have any success like he had in New England? Anyway. No. It's a combination of the right code and the right player. And I all I got Larry. Appreciate your man. Thank you. For the kind words, it can be both right in history spread throughout history, and politics, and our and sports and all kinds of things a lot of townspeople people are closer together. There's a great story about Star Wars against two and trace trae certainly wouldn't get about how all these directors are sitting around discussing George Lucas's creation, and they're criticizing Spielberg gets too Paul mud's. I think Scorsese and they knew each other they met each other. It just it happens talent clusters together or springs from it's from like minded, well, it doesn't matter the reason Bella check and Brady found each other. And they are incredible delight him by Larry, I think you got to respect them like Larry. Thank you for the call eight five five two one two four CBS nNcholas. In Arizona hope life out. West is good. You're on CBS sports radio. Thanks for taking my call. You got it. I was just thinking about the stat with that Brady's bend to forty four percent of his season's going to the Super Bowl and Russell Westbrook's career. Shop percentages forty three percent. You. Under fans, when they watch Westbrook in the play are probably thinking, like he, you know, he's probably the best of that school right now that he'll find a way to get it done. And no matter if they're forty seven thirty five or whatever they are that he will find a way to get it done. Just like Brady has and this year, even though they might not have had the best record that they have in years past. I think they'll find a way to get it done against Casey to that is an amazing Nicholson, Arizona, just blew my mind. So we just all the top of our heads. Brady's been to what eight Super Bowls trying to get to nine. Nikolas? Obviously do the math forty forty three percents. Same percentage of times and seasons in his career. That Brady has gone is her bowl is Westbrook shooting percentage. Wow. Wow. Five to one to four tire. What is it? I think what he says. It's forty four percent of Super Bowls. Brady's plan. Played in Westbrook's shooting percentages below that I'm looking at forty three first career. Russell westbrook. Forty three point four rounding. Wow. Tom Brady's pretty good friend. That's my mind is blown friends who's on. You're on CBS sports radio. Bill. Hey, okay. Here we go. Lombardi era, sixty one to sixty seven. Hard star by titles seven years. Nobody's done it ever Radi. Fide championships eight trips to the championship. He's been with the team for almost twenty years. Bart Starr called his own place. Yeah. The best playoff quarterback rating of all time record in play offs nine. And one party called him, the smartest quarterback ever. Fred. Love the call. Appreciate the perspective. I apologize for cutting you off, but I do want to make room for the four time pro bowler the Super Bowl champion Isaac. Bruce gracious enough to make some time for us right now Isaac. Thanks so much for being here. What's up, man? Thanks for having me. I'm doing good. I'm sorry. You're you're walk into this conversation. So I gotta ask you were arguing assessing how we're supposed to look at Tom Brady, given everything he's accomplished and it continues to accomplish in defies age. The guy that won the Super Bowl the plane is an incredibly high level. What's your assessment of Tom Brady and what he's done so far? Well, Mr. Brees has done a lot of remarkable things on the football field. He's a guy that's truly game. I respect as far as football players concerned. And you know, that's that's one of our main goals is football players. You know, we don't want you to fear us, or we don't want you to be afraid, but that respect level that is what we're after. And we have everything to do with that from opponents to teammates to management. You know, just where it is. And I think he's proven himself to be one of the top talents to ever play quarterback in our league. I don't really see a flow. I love the way he competes off the field. I think is preparation is head and shoulders above just about a lot of other players at his position in the league. And you know, when he goes back on the field it shows there's a knock on Tom. You know, you have to date real deep to find it. And if I was thinking, I've got to say, you know, Tom never beat anybody out for the job. He's he's been there ever since Bledsoe went down. And you know, he hasn't given it up. I here on the show is when I was a very very young man nineteen or twenty I was an intern at the Saint Louis post dispatch one summer, and it's the summer when a quarterback named Kurt Warner the very few people had had really been aware of got thrust into that starting job when when Frank green got hurt. And so even though I'm not a ranch fan. I was a part of that community. Listen to sports talk radio, which will you and I are on right now that I connect that Rams organization so much Saint Louis that it was weird for me when they went to LA though, I lived in L A at the time. You obviously have a much deeper bond with that organization. How do you do you still root for the Rams are they still your team? How do you assess the Rams are there back in LA? If you follow me on Twitter, I think you can pretty much answer that question for you. So if I was at the game Saturday, man, and you know, I was drafted in nineteen Ninety-four four by the Los Angeles Rams and played one season there before we moved on to Saint Louis in nineteen ninety-five. So I'm deeply invested within the organization from that standpoint. You know, I talk a lot about, you know, the the move itself how it would affected the fans, you know, it still affects the fans, and, you know, sometime I read my Twitter comments by my heart just continues to go out for him because you know, for them they grew up with a hometown team hometown team that was successful that went to the SuperBowl and won a Super Bowl. And I don't think they can never shake that you know. So my heart goes out for them. And you know, I'm I'm still a part of the organization Skillet part of the city of Saint Louis, and I try to do everything I can't bridge that gap between the two cities. Isaac Bruce here on the show Isaac. Sean Payton and drew Brees have never lost playoff game in New Orleans as a doodo. What is your ram seem need to do to go in there and change that? Well, I'll tell you. What man that's the beauty of football. And I think we've seen that happen throughout the season. You know, we started off with a lot of high scoring offenses and everyone was really enamored with the points that were be scored. And then you know, you always have the defense that catches up. So you know, it's part of what we're seeing right now in the playoffs and anytime you playoff football team. You gotta be able to run the football. You gotta be able to stop the run and make critical parts of the game successfully for you. I think that you know, the biggest thing that we can do it. You know, continue to be we are. And that's power running football team. I think we have a one two punch now that that's to be reckoned with slash some dash girly and C J Anderson. And you know, what we play everything off of that from you know, the play action pass put it down the field and get the ball into the receive hands suites that we run. Well, if we go in with that mindset in doing that. And we give our chance how defense a chance to rest and really attack. Drew brees. I think we can pull it off, man. You know, it's hard to be NFL team twice one year. It's tough to do that. So we'll have our work cut out for. But it'd be a great challenge. But I think I have faith in my team. And I think you know, they're winning Isaac when you and your teammates one that Super Bowl you you're the greatest show on turf, and you redefined offense and offensive excellence. And there's some of that redefining going on by the Kansas City Chiefs right now with this young quarterback. And Patrick Mahomes. Not an easy thing. I know they're at Arrowhead a tough place to play not an easy thing to go through the patriots in the postseason. What do you expect from from that AFC showdown? I think that's an intriguing matchup this weekend that I think. A great young talent. And you know, he he's made some plays in the regular season. I think this'll be a game when he finds out what playoff football is about. You're going to get the seasons veteran know not only from a player's standpoint. Tom Brady and the crew and everything coming, but also with one of the best coaches Bill Koa check. So you know, I think Mahomes newsgroups should be prepared to play. Well in beer, uncomfortable state. I mean, I think he's gonna take away what they do best and try to make this young guy. Do something that he's not comfortable in doing. He's the best at doing that. So it'll be intriguing match-up. I don't think the patriots to be intimidated in any form of fashion. You know, if I was a bit man know, they they say normally, your heart. I'd have to go with the patriots winning it. But it'll be a tough task for both teams Bruce here on the show Isaac one of the advantages of the incredible success. You've had is that you can take that. And the platformer gives you and the recognition it gives you and you can make a difference in the world, and you've done that through the Isaac Bruce foundation. What can you tell us about the foundation and the flight three hundred program? Oh, man. That's my baby. Now, we have you know, when I started way back in two thousand six, and it's continually to grow, even you know from the time since I retired. And we we do great programs from flag football too football camps for kids food droughts. Close drops flight three hundred program where we provide transportation for students who don't steady in their hometown. We do go on the core we do rides to and from the airport. So it's it's a great program.
