"But first, a note from the show. The show rates. Okay. I've been not like lasagna. So the number one song is Irene Cara, who recently passed away. Recently passed away flashdance water feelings. So I meant she was amazing. What a voice and what incredible hits and you know she did the flash dance records and stuff like that, but she had hits before and after that. It really, really great, great songs. This year was that year of that film. So these songs were really, really hot for her. And I think what was the other one that she had in there. I think there was one earlier on that I mentioned, maybe not. Hold on. Did you? Maybe not. I guess not, no. I was thinking of another song, or maybe it was like later on the list, 'cause I was literally, I've been looking at the whole list and there's a lot of mentions there of people Billy Joel again and David Bowie with China girl and Michael Jackson is there again with want to be starting something. You know, I mean, I mean, this is a top 100. Michael Jackson is in it a bunch of times. So I was the number one song of 1983. Irene Cara. From flashdance, what a feeling. Interesting. Yeah. And definitely condolences to hiring carrots and family friends and everything because she was really an amazing artist. And so that's our list. We're going to take a moment because we want to actually acknowledge a songwriter that maybe a lot of people really don't know did the work that he did in movies. Yes. Probably thrown away that this one dude wrote the songs that some of them that we talked about today. I have a little list of just a little snippet of things. So. There was a gorgeous go ahead whenever you're ready. Sorry. John, you always know how to take my spotlight. It's all about you. Anyway, so there was a gentleman in this era who was writing a major amazing material and his name and some of you may or may have not heard of him. His name was rod temperton. And the reason why you guys should know about him is because I'll give you an example of the songs that he wrote not only wrote, but he arranged them. So here's just a few examples of the songs that he wrote.

"Wins it calm for a minute. It's a hint. We're gonna let the renowned General Mills go first on this one. Jeff, take it away. Yeah, so mine is fame. There's nothing really to the acronym other than the first two that I came up with were dead and omen and they were far too depressing. So we went with fame instead, but I thought about I thought about it like constructing a little portfolio, different sectors, different catalysts, not really overly exposed to one risk. So 5 is the first one. You know, it's that discount retailer theme, higher income shoppers coming down to 5. I think we're just seeing the beginning of some labor market challenges. The chart looked good, looks good to me. So that's one. Then we have Amazon and meta, and those were two stocks that we did a would you rather at the end of last year, I chose Amazon, but I like both with Amazon. I think you're going to get margin expansion as the revenue mix shifts. It held $80, which is a really key level. I like that. And then met has just been killed, but it's a great business. Profitability, free cash flow, all of these characteristics that I've been looking for in this market. I think long term they figure out the apple issues, and I think a lot of challenges are priced in there. And then lastly, EOG Resources. I think oil prices end up being supportive this year. The stock's down about 15% from all time highs showing support at that 200 day. And again, it's that quality theme. It's just the quality company. It has a low cost structure. So maybe insulating you a little bit from variability in the commodity and it has one of the best management teams who's been able to manage that cost structure. So there it is. I think those stocks have a good chance of outperforming this year. 5 below is an interesting one, Jeff, because you haven't really talked about it. So did you work backwards from your acronym? Did you actually say 5 below is definitely going to be in one of my and be honest? A pick for the, I mean, because it could have gone tame, it could have gone lame, it could have so many different ways it could have gone. Lame. You know what I did? I took a notebook and I wrote down different names of ETFs and stocks, and that was one of them I've been talking about that discount retailer theme. Dollar Tree Dollar General, but 5 is one I like, you know, me personally, I'm there all the time. I take my kids there. A lot of my friends do the same thing. So I think it's going to be a good one for a deteriorating labor market and a slowing economy. They got a good candy selection there. We have to think about it. Irene Cara and fame May she rest in peace. I mean, fame, what a feeling. I mean, that was one of the great movies and songs of all time. To live forever. Bono, keep calm and carry on. What's your acronym? Yeah, so Jeff is being modest. I mean, he's got a name like the general. He's famous, so going ahead and knowing that my man. We all support you. Mine is calm. I'm kind of channeling my inners in and ultimately I want to book of names that's going to keep me from pulling my hair out in 2023. And I really think that's what's in store for a lot of people out there. So my first pick is Chevron. You look at ten and a half times forward earnings. You look at just over 3% div yield and really it's this 10% free cash flow yield that I want to my portfolio here. The nexus AG, why continue to move further and further out on the risk curve when risk free rates are paying you 4.7 investment grade is paying you north of 5%. You can hunker down and feel confident that your money is going to be working for you there. You're going to get some yield. And again, you're not going to have capital erosion. My next name is LMT, and I know that Lockheed right now is had the Goldman downgrade, defense has really rallied here, but it's still exposure that I want. Much more than riskier growth assets. And then the last one is McDonald's. And I think this is a bellwether, whether we continue to have inflationary pressures you're going to be there, or in terms of the consumer weakness, that's something that whether you're a high earner or a more modest earner, you can trade down into that much like your Walmart target. So that portfolio there, I think you're able to keep calm and prevent from really running for the exits with these names here. Interesting. All of the acronyms that we've had and we've asked all of our traders, all of them have an energy or 99% of them have an energy aspect to them, which is interesting. Not Dan. Not Dan. Oh. Actually. No, look, I think energy continues to go higher, especially it does not need commodity price to go higher, which it may or may not do. But I think these energy companies look interesting for sure. Up next, is this stock ready to spread its wings and

You know, every year we do our best to spotlight. The musicians and music industry folks who died that we wanted to pay tribute to. And they're not always the ones that grab the biggest headlines. People sometimes that we felt are already and should meet even if only in death. But we can't get to everybody. Last week we highlighted a few musicians were missing. And now it's time to wrap up 2022 and talk about a few more of the artists we lost last year. Yeah, that's right, Jim. First, we want to recap who we discussed this year since we always have people asking, why didn't you talk about this person? It's true. Well, we did. And not everyone, but we did do it was incredibly painful. Prolific and painful year in terms of deaths in The Rock and musical world. Here's who we covered in our annual irregular episodes who passed away in 2022. Now Greg, we're going to go in depth on just a few more artists we miss that we think deserve the spotlight. I'm going to lead off with Irene Cara. Was a narrow call for me between Irene Cara and Olivia Newton-John. Both of them meant a lot to me and my formative years of moviegoing and listening to the pop charts. A little bit of a crush on both of those great singers. But Olivia Newton-John was covered extensively in the media. If I had a nickel for every time I saw the grease scene of her turning into the bad girl, right? Irene Cara didn't so much get her do, except for wonderful obituary in The New York Times. Because she was a New Yorker, child star from The Bronx. Grew up an actor dancer and singer starting out at ten or 11, you know, wanted to be on stage of Puerto Rican descent. I don't know about you. You're a little bit older than me. But at 13, she was a regular on the electric company. Remember that? PBS. And then, of course, put her mark on two huge films, flashdance, where

"Fame's" Irene Cara Joins the List of 'Unknown Illness' Deceased

"I sat on the other show that we are going to experience a lot of different deaths. I felt a lot of deaths coming. And it wasn't just like COVID related when I said that. Although, you know, obviously COVID has a lot to do with it, but I just said I feel a lot of deaths and then a bunch of people started dying. Comedians die in a Louis Anderson Bob Saget, Gilbert Gottfried. The list was going crazy. Some people tell me, hey, you know, people die. I don't know. I've been a journalist for 30 years, 31 years, 32 years, whatever it is. I'm always reading death notices and what have you. And I just don't remember seeing this many people drop like flies with an unknown illness. You know, Irene Cara, who was such a sweetie pie back in the day. With fame, she dies 63 years old. I know for some of you, that sounds like an old age when you read 30s or so 60. Three, well, she lives a good life. No, I'm 60 now. 63 is going to be her in a second. I don't want to die. I'm sure Irene carrot did neither. So we never get to know these things anymore. Not one person, not one journalist. Can find out if these people who die mysterious deaths were vaccinated. We never get that that bit of information. That would change a lot. Wouldn't it? I mean, probably make a lot of us scared to death facing the future. Those of us who got vax, but what is going on and why don't we get to know? We used to always know when somebody died. Even if it was suicide, they say, took his own life, took her own life, now that stuff is out. That's not do we even know what was in Coolio's system when he dropped that? I mean, I'm sure there were drugs in there. But do we know? Has it been enough time that has passed? So we get to know about the toxicology, I mean, I know you can get toxicology reports back in a couple of days. This is getting ridiculous. God, they do want to do motor vehicle department. It's not that hard to do. No blood type. Like when I go to the hospital, they know what's in my system in an hour. I don't know why these things take 6 weeks.
