Fresh "Ireland" from America First with Sebastian Gorka

"About obviously 2020 is full of people making all kinds of assumptions about everything and we won't get into those will keep it Financial and retirement based So I've got a few classics here. Marx also spend a few minutes talking about these people that make these generalized assumptions about whatever's going on in the retirement life and often, they don't even know where they're at with it so I'll spend less when I retires a classic assumption. We think that you know we're going to not do as much and maybe Cove. It's kind of shine some light on the fact that maybe we wouldn't and you start thinking down that path. Well, that's also because there isn't as much to do. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you're going to spend less and retirement often. It's the other way around. It is it is, You know, it's really kind of fun. It's fun to watch people spending my night a heck of a time, sometimes trying to get people to spend their money. You worked for it. Why not exactly A and I've had people saying, my kids are gonna have enough left over to give to them. Then it's the other folks would say. Well, kids bear to get a good jobs. I'm spending their inheritance ends right anything. I hear all kinds of stuff, But you know what? You're absolutely right retirement. It kind of kicked things into gear in terms of what I'm going to do with myself. You know, a lot of folks wouldn't When actually everybody when I meet with them we talked about putting a plan together in terms of bottom line pulled the trigger in terms. I'm going to retire because you know most people they retired. Don't go back to work. And if they do, and we don't want to write, no, we don't want to. But when they do go back to work is because they want to be but To have a social life or boredom, boredom. They want to get involved with a very far of one of the two. Exactly. They want to stay around people in this kind of stuff in this kind of human nature, But their side of the coin is you're not going to spend less money. Maybe on the commute Drive, perhaps, but you know what? You're right. I mean, my wife when she wants to try it, she says when retired. She going to travel here and do this into that? I think. Oh, man. Oh, man. I mean, I think about airport stuff I have to do, but it's not going to be cheap. So trust me when I tell you that that that's one of the reasons why, When we're building a plan, one of the questions on the budget analyzer the document that I use and I share with folks I said, Listen, I want howmuch money. You're spending So we can actually apply some inflation numbers to it. Moving all forward in the years to come till we know exactly what your expenses are going to be today, not to mention five years from now or 10 years from now, but we always include vacations holidays in there. How much time do you spend traveling? How much time do you want to spend? Traveling? Brought you go? What do you do this and how much money in the budget for that, But we want to always add that in there because sometimes people seem soon forget that. Well, heck, if I want to go to Ireland with my buddies on a golf trip, I wanna goto proponent Croatian to see the Game of Thrones tower there, whatever you want to do. It's not free, okay, and it's not free, so that's across a few bucks. So what we want to do if we're living on fixed income. You want to have to plan for that budget for that. So in terms of the income arena, if you're getting enough money coming in to pay for the things you want to do. Which means doesn't mean you gotta spend it. We budget forward and create the cash flow forth, and we make sure that it's there. So when you want it, you can use it to do the things you want to do. But again, you're not going to spend less. Trust me. It seems like it's kind of a bell curve. Really. When you first retire, you will spend more and then as you progressing retirement As you get older, it's going cap out at some point, OK? And because you've done all the things you want to do, and then it becomes more important to stay home, be with family and so on so forth. And then as you grow older, your your willingness to travel and your willingness to exhaust the energy and willingness to get tired and willingness to do the things that you do when you become a little older, become fewer and that future and that makes sense from that from that fund money, But then that your opposite side is As your aging like that the medical expenses could go up so they could they could, you know, doing proper plan if you have the right carrying out, right? Yeah. If you have the right care plan, if if you have the right health insurance, yes, If you've planned at some level for long term care issues were, you know a cz. Many people listening today know that I've dealt with that myself from first hand with the brother in law, who's had who's been ill. Who ultimately passed and then I have mother law who has got the same problems going on. So I've been dealing with it as we speak with my friends, so I know what's going on. I've got firsthand exposure to it, not to mention the experience level. But the fact remains that if we've done a good job planning that we know who's on first, we know what to do with the ball when we get it, then guess what? Yeah, everybody's gonna be happy. You're going to be happy and your kids are going to be happy. You're everybody's going to be happier. That's why it's so important to sit down with some like myself to wire you untie all these knots and twist the wire where it needs to be twist and say, I've got to have money for this. I got to be able to do this, and I don't want to be a burden on zone so Incites and such So again, it's so important to make their planet that planning process come from real life. Absolutely. We'll tell you what we're going to jump out. Take a quick break. We'll come back and talk about some more assumptions we tend to make in retirement. So that's that 1st 1 I'll spend less when I retire often case that's often times. That's not the case. Excuse me. Sometimes here refer to as the go go years so give, you know. Give Mark a call. Get on the counter. Have a conversation. 844.

I truly was like the fabric of America You grew up playing Little League Baseball Pony League Baseball You grew up knowing every kid in the two schools that were in town because it was kind of like a little Northern Ireland it was either Protestants and Catholics wasn't anything else. It was kind of those two choices and for grades one through eight there was the Catholic school that was on the other side of the railroad tracks, and then there was the public school and then you knew by sports and buy. Your neighbors you knew everybody and it didn't matter if it was K. through twelve, you knew the kindergarteners because you were school with their brothers and sisters. It was a really tight very hard working community

It was not enough to reassure Ireland's of the political parties. "Welcome to fat Mascara I am Jess Hi. With and. Blew out everybody's ears sorry about that. I'm very excited. You're excited because honestly we're recording this little bit early you're listening to this. Holy. Cow, it is August. That's right. It's August this. Time in twenty twenty is the weirdest thing. It's like I. IT still feels like February February went forever. Then all of a sudden it was August and yet. I don't know there's like none of those markers like didn't see your mom for mother's Day like don't go away for this birthday and so like. It's faster yet slower. It's the weirdest remembers I remember sitting in bad in like March and being like Jeff do think this whole quarantine thing could go onto like a bro like asking just like totally well I remember you asking me that too yeah and I was like. Yeah. I also can't believe since you're lake was born since February. I've literally seen you in person only wants it once or twice I saw you on the street. Yeah. I didn't see each other again. Because I see you so often, but I see you on the show will me I I think this is our lives. Now this is this but this is so sad it can't be like this. It can't be like this. I know I know well, for people who enjoy summer, which isn't Jessen I might alright bringing the rest on your summer like happy August to you for everybody else who just really hot and sweaty right now we're getting through it. We're just getting. Some are in the city. I always have that like hot Tom Summer in the city song every time like go outside just like feet pounding the pavement. Yeah, and then it just slows down into like a milky. As Long. As. Low a nineteen seventies like cast over everything just like doom and gloom summer of Sam the seriously it's not fun right now anyway, let's bring the phone. Let's bring the levity. Bring the joy. What do we got this week? Let me tell you. We've got the headlines. We've got men wearing makeup. Okay. I'm very excited about this trend I feel like we report on this like every six months but I feel like there's always a tweak there's always a new span. There's always a new angle can't wait to talk about this and we are going to answer a listener's question about behind the scenes at fat Mascara how the sausage gets made, and of course, we're GONNA raise wand all that well done Jeff I'm excited about this show you ready to do it. Let's get hot town in the city. than. Them doing the news. Virtually, from my vacation just kidding I'm recording the Ireland I should've said. Before we're doing an early not early in the morning earlier than we would because janitors going on vacation. That's how much we love you. Instead of US being L., we're going to take a week off. Oh No, we've recorded double that episode for you. So if some huge news comes out at the end of August and it is not including this, you cannot blame me I was just thinking like watch oprah like surprise drop beyond style like a makeup line like Oprah's makeup line and we don't talk about it like every facet like off their game it's because I'm recording early just so you know. Okay. So remember last week when we talk about Clare Sonic Failing Jason, you're like, well, they're no dummies all those people are going to be. You know they'll find something to work on. Well, did they ever? So Dr, Rob We've both interviewed I know. He actually left the company before it closed and started up this brand called Oculus and so this is where all the technology's going. It's launching in the fall. It's basically like you know a courage coffeemaker. It's like that for skin care. So I, gotTa look at it. It's a little like device you putting these pods. K Cups of care and it mixes together the pod that you want and squirts out a fresh batch just one application of your skincare.

The Rigor Of Transmedia Production

"Hey. It's topcoats clips five, three four. Block on a busy July twenty, nine, twenty, twenty they about the rigor up producing contents. For creative media, students, Detroit animators, Enga- mark designers. Work Inside the Creative Campus Nick Glendale Ireland and I want to see if it's possible to set up lanes of academic depth. As well as to produce content on the fly with career students follow a rigor. Of expression. So. I start my rigor with words a word document that they can see that students can see in the form of a brief or mission objector. I use an Amazon model of not having more than two pages of my brace with hyper links. That goto examples of how the content might be done but start with tax, and actually that's how I started the blog post to with tex what you're hearing right now. Can Be, done text. Using transcription programs such as archer. Were audio. Bursts. The auditor Osher by product is always better than ninety percent for me when a use an external mic. I'm using the Mike Right. Now of the Samsung note nine and I'm not sure it'll be high enough quality to produces a transcript from the first go but you know this. It starts with words. In text form. Normally I have my students take those words and try to imagine how they might be presented as short clips of text information. Headlines titles. Key words, phrases, things that can be pushed out on twitter. Or on facebook or on Lincoln. And I tried to do that with all my semi compelling content. That could try to do that with every blog posts that I make on inside viewed I e. The. Point is this. Very few things you do. We'll get noticed if you don't offer them in places where people are already used. To read. Or to here to see. So, in today's world of socially connected people. Twitter facebook instagram linked in. Youtube. Those are all places that are common watering holes for for folks who are in my thought space. And most importantly. Most students have at least two those watering holes as places a look to see the spray Spiratou from folks that want to work with for jobs, they may want to get as creative interns or paid employees in the near future. So my goal is To get some form of process. which believe reaches the rigor of production. To put all this content in different media formats in different places. That's the rigor. And what I know is if I have students write some things down or sketch some notes out that they're gonNA end up with some really high quality learning on the back of it all. Is The kinesthetic to mention that seems to evolve. In other parts of my speaker content or on my blog, I've talked about offering people for different lanes of access to educational material starting with the techs. Access. Making sure. There are images or video clips. Allowing some of that stuff to occur live in HD format while also ensuring that there's an asynchronous method to rewind and play it back as slow or as fast as they want to. It's all part of the rigor of doing it right. You WanNa, follow my educational adventure using the Hashtag. Dig. PED- digital pedagogy. The PD you can check it out. I. Handle Top gold. Locked Down in Switzerland and Belgium

"Start with Stephen mcfeely he operates being be on Ireland's dingle peninsula in just before the pandemic head Stephen an interest in the hotel Oberland in October and Switzerland that's where he's had to ride out the first few months of the global lockdown good and. My goodness. My Irish friend is learning Spitzer dykes. Good here in the Alps where I've been for four months. Now in splendid isolation, my plan originally was just to come for February and March, but I've I'm still here right well, what does the vibe in Switzerland right now there's a positive vibe. The society is reopening. Tourism travel has started again just no we're on the same level as it was before we had two weekends where there was crazy crowds here huge big crowds from all over Switzerland everybody who was here was from Switzerland or had to be from Switzerland. They weren't necessarily all Swiss because there's lots of international people living in Geneva and Derek and whatnot but everybody from within the barger of Switzerland over with crowds, and then it just died and Monday to. Friday went back to being really really quiet. Okay. Well, this is sort of the very beginnings of the rekindling of tourism I would imagine it'll be people traveling with within their own countries first, and then traveling within Europe, and then finally international travel and transatlantic travel. Yes. That's exactly what we're seeing. The borders here have just reopened. So we're expecting Germans and some Austrians and maybe some French to come now also, I don't anticipate huge numbers like that would have been heretofore. One. Very noticeable thing in the Valley of course, there's no American visitors. As you know, the valley also is very popular with. Chinese travelers Indians many people from Dubai and Saudi Arabia would come here and they're not here this year. So there's a noticeable difference there. So the people getting the real cultural change would be the French speaking. Swiss. German speaking part of his Switzerland and not even leaving their own country exactly. Fifty percent of our guests. Last week were French speaking Swiss and it was the first time I've ever actually met those people and I would say to them. Are you French Swiss would say no, no, we are. All MOM and so I I learned something new immediately the K. The identify as swirl. They were saying exactly what you just said they said it's like we are in a different country it's very dramatic here it's different toossion either those on the do shut down it was really cool. They were very excited to see a different part of their own country. So that was wonderful. Now Stephen you own a hotel in Ireland in Dingle Peninsula and now you own a hotel in Switzerland in Loudoun valley two of my favorite places as a businessman working in both these countries how do you compare the support getting from the government and how the two governments are dealing with this crisis? Well, the difference is. Very. Big. I'm still on team. Ireland. So I want to be positive about my own country, but there's not a lot of support coming. Heretofore in Switzerland for example, within two weeks of the crisis occurring. The. Swiss Federal Council which is the Swiss government offered ten percent of the previous year's turnover and So that's quite a considerable amount of money and they offered that as a loan which was repayable over seven years. Zero percent interest. So they're not looking to profit from it and in Ireland we really struggled to get some assistance. And we got ten thousand euros of overdraft line of credit and but repayable at seven and a half percent interest in Switzerland. We got three hundred thousand. So it's quite a big difference there no-interest at all. No interest at all. Of course, Switzerland may have much stronger and deeper reservists than Ireland, but they were able to immediately come up with assistance very little bureaucracy paperwork, and they immediately got to help us in Ireland. The experience was just simply much different to the government really weren't as proactive for as immediate as were here in Switzerland. The roots here what's around her a lot less strict as well There is a two meter rule here, but I haven't seen anybody wearing masks very much, which is kinda shocking for me because I know in Ireland the whole north of is people should be wearing masks. People definitely are observing social distance. One of my friends said to me that the two meter rule has actually brought Swiss people closer together so. That is so insightful to the Swiss society. It's more difficult thing. It's more difficult thing for Irish people or Italian people are Spanish. Two meters distance than it would be for this people or maybe the. Scandinavians. I can see by home people are wondering. Is the Irish pub culture ever going to come back the way it was with social distancing whereas in. Switzerland. Here for me like I'm I'm in the Alps I'm surrounded by fresh air and. Of of lovely space and it's been a wonderful place to be stranded, I don't even want to complain about it because although I I was stranded here for four months. It was the perfect place I felt very safe. I might have felt different if I was in the middle of Zurich or something or Geneva but I felt very safe. I'd in the Alps and it is lovely and peaceful and quiet, and of course, that's what people are coming here for anyway

The reality is I didn't actually set out to start my business in the beginning it just became the only way I could actually do I want it. So my business background is as a marketing and brand strategist I walked almost a decade for leading fortune five hundred companies in the fast moving consumer goods industry, which basically just means multimillion billion dollar global brands such as Gillette pantene shampoo bus perfume, and one of your favorites, Jon Benet, Jerry's ice cream. So, that was kind of my weld and I always in my most recent role, there is leading a two hundred million dollar brand portfolio whereas basically just tossed with how do I grow this brand in that market? How do I execute on amazing media campaigns get to know my consumers so that was that was the world I knew and on paper I was successful I got the absolute dream role that I could possibly have wanted ahead a view of the mountains in Switzerland bring out of his window. And then Ireland never forget this. Awful moment when I was having dinner with friends of a pizza unwind and I had this mind numbing thought that I guess I'll just be happy when I'm retired. Like Oh, I'm in my mid twenties that's quite a long way. Years. Away. That's like twice as long as you've been alive. Exactly. Exactly. So that was kind of like something for me to finally attention to and the reality was I've been really bent out for quite a period of time I'd got caught up in. Comparison Trabzon. Myself in fast-moving corporate space and I was massive perfectionist which did not help so I kind of went through that somewhat obligatory quarter life crisis that we all seem to experience today's in there. And that really ignited. I kind of Ray into Paseo development I'd never been exposed to anything to pass on development up until that moment when I realized I need a way to calm the flip down and so my first thing was I'm going to go to a meditation colas and then I became an P. Practitioner and then I certified as courage and it just kind of my obsession grew as I implemented all the things I was learning that will having literally life changing impact on me. So when I moved from London to Sydney a few. Years later I was like I want to do more of this because it's so amazing I'm going to try and get a job in eight Shaw Orlando Development and it's going to be amazing. I have these qualifications. I'm so passionate enthusiastic and bear in mind I just moved to the other side of the world with zero networks. No one knew my name and I'm going to recruitment agents saying, Hey, this is what I can do like yet. That's not going to happen because you'll see visas marketing and everyone gave crap that I. Wanted to ECHINACEA it was really soul destroying and I was just banging my head against a brick wall time and time and time again, and then I recognize that honestly the only way could explore this New Passion for coaching and personal. Development and see how I could support people in similar quarter live crises was to start my own business. So I the very unconventional step of actually negotiating a pot time senior marketing role in which five hundred company that gave me one precious day to just my Tories in the water. Of, what could be if I took this further over time? I was then to grow my business I negotiated two days a week on that with three days in my corporate role, and then I went on maternity leave to have my daughter and today I'm three days a week in my business around her. So it was a very a out of the way to do it, and as probably not the same story that a lot of other people have. But since that moment I've had people ask me how did he do that? And so that was what started everything off and today I. Am so grateful and so blessed I didn't just. You know accept that Acadia get nine to five just put his dreams draw. We'll come back to Atlanta but I, really followed that banning fi and my belly and I found a way to make it happen because today I have all the flexibility I could possibly want around my daughter while doing the work

Echo Show and Bixby Checklists

"I folks. It's burning hot top audio clip five thirty one. You are in my pocket. As I walk with my dog in the fourteenth July. Thinking about checklists. And automating routines so. If that's you. And your used to offering ideas. Yourself about what you ought to be doing. When you ought to be doing it, and how you ought to be doing it well, then maybe my meandering thoughts while walking my dog. Windy. With interest you. checklists are important for me because they helped me sleep better. When I look over what I've done during the day. And consider what might be there the next day a simple thing like looking at the Amazon Echo show. We'll tell me what's ahead. That set up the echo, so that has a screen. And on, it's eight inch screen I can see the next day is calendar. My son Dylan, he's nine. Has Put things on his calendar? By telling. His Echo. What he's GonNa do the next day he sets reminders, but he also sees our shared family calendars appearing. On that echo show. It's a bit of a checklist to see what's up the next hour or the next stay for the next week. I think these kind of events. Base activities are really important. For nine year old, it's the birthday where it's the trip away, or it's the start of the new school year. But nonetheless it's based on a rubric of a checklist. What are you going to be doing? What Day with WHO where? There are ways of taking his echoes show and integrating into a skill that offers him a chance to run a checklist by asking his echo. To run the Dylan. Nighttime checklist or running the Dylan. Go to school, checklist. What Dylan's done is he's. A particular to me the stuff he wants to do and how he wants to do it. And what we've done is we've gone into the Alexa Library. And carved out some simple skills based on some design templates so now using a voice command, he can activate a checklist. I'll tell you. It certainly has helped us. Get things in order in home that has. Two kids to adult and three animals. CHECKLISTS! By voice. Accusing the Amazon Alexa series. We also can activate a checklist using. Bixby on my Samsung phone for this by a voice command, I can telephone what to do when I'm about to enter a classroom or about to go home or about to get on a bicycle and certain things on the phone activate or deactivate. checklists. Mike Road. Takes the concept of checklists than bullet list and make some into sketch notes, so he activates a series of thoughts. Mind Map. Illustrated or Put in bulletin with this type format now. Mike Witt's tell you his sketch. Noting isn't a bullet list, but to me. It's similar as checklist based dueling system. That helps you get your thoughts out of your head. And on paper in a playful type of way I like it. How about you? You're listening to meet. Talking to you on the sidewalks of Plano Kinda chipper Ireland. Are you. Able to rewind the last ten or twelve hours and say yeah, you know what I followed a checklist I felt list based activities set and. It works for me pretty simple. It's record card and index card, or a piece of paper, or do you have something that you actually? Kickoff by listening to what the checklist is telling you for example is we can do on Amazon Alexa, or are you using something? A list based notional system tick boxes on Trello, notion, or as I'm using now on Rome research to get the work done. All these things are interesting to me. And I like to share with you how you're doing it. How are you doing your checklists? Do you have one. Do, you have an idea to share. You can contact me with feedback if you want. I always like to steal people's ideas about doing things better.

"Because they don't want to go they have not said anything specific about it yeah. I wouldn't criticize those guys. If the United States deals with him deals with the Saudi prince now criticize the Saudi Prince. But I wouldn't criticize the Gulf. Would you play in the tournament I think I probably would if really what would you do business in Saudi Arabia. Like if you owned a if you owned apple or Google or we'll start. There's there's a difference though between then we put doing business in Saudi Arabia and basically Going to hang out with this guy who was responsible for the killing of journalist list. Well but here's the thing and by the way if you if you look at it. He's all over. He's hanging out with the golfers he's buddy buddy with the golfers It's his tournament right. What would I would say? Though is the golfers that is their business. But would you play in the Kim Jong. Hoon open I don't think there is one. No that one. Yeah Yeah and and again I don't I don't know I'd have to take it on basically but if if you're doing if if you're okay doing business in Saudi Arabia. Golf is their business business. Now if they go over there and and you know Say a bunch of Nice things about him and and look the other way on a bunch of stuff. Then then you know I think maybe they do deserve criticism but if they're just going over there to play in a tournament train win money than I probably wouldn't all right Let's see more fast track in two minutes Mason in Ireland. ESPN LA are rolling on on with fast-track in Ireland. Do you tack all right last month. We all saw the steelers played in Cleveland Myles. Garrett was ejected and suspended bended for the rest of the season when he swung his helmet into the head of Pittsburgh quarterback Mason Rudolph so fast forward to last Friday Freddie Kitchens. The browns head coach posed for a picture with a fan. Kitchens was wearing a t shoes at the movies. Yup Kitchens was wearing a t shirt that said Pittsburgh started it on and Sunday. The steelers beat the browns in the rematch. After the game several steelers players said the shirt motivated them. Ramon Foster said quote vote. I know our coach would have never done anything like that. Why throw gas when you do something like that? You throw players in harm's way he's not on the field and quote simple question here. Mace did the t shirt have anything to do with the steelers beating the browns on Sunday. He he no. I don't I don't think so I don't know how widely spread that particular social media post was has. It happened on Saturday night. I don't know how many people could have seen. It was just like somebody at the movies. took the picture with them His daughters they. They said Pretty Ready Kitchen said his daughters wanted him to wear it. I mean I think it's I think it's stupid for coach do it. I think it's Kind of inappropriate given the ugliness of the situation that took place place in the in the previous game but do I think it was motivation. Probably not I agree with you that I don't think had anything to do with the steelers winning the game. I do you however think that it's going to have something to do with Freddie Kitchens being fired I mean. He's he's done a budget doesn't need any help at this right. He's done a bunch of dumb stuff. Why double down on dumb? y'All I do anything it puts you in a position to make it easier to fire you and that certainly does. What other coach would do that now? Players would do it. I I could see Baker Mayfield did it. I could see that right. Can't that too. It's a head coach head coach. It's ridiculous it's ridiculous. I'll check all right furious. Janet Jackson fans stormed out of her concert in Perth Australia last weekend accusing her of lip synching her way through the show. The rhythm nation singer headlined the live concert which also featured the black-eyed peas but it was Janet set which garnered the most criticism awesome with video footage showing groups of concert goers leaving while she was on stage fans described the performance as a disaster with Janet miming along along with our Hurricana kits Why do you think she's lip? synching can she saying could she ever sing is hard to dance and sing at the same time. "And in your idea that a guy would rather have his own team in a brand makes no sense K. We'll see what. Kevin Durant says about that next. Mason in Ireland ESPN LA. All right today is day five of our twelve days of quiz Mus campaign. And this is the John Ireland question you've got a chance to win an autograph. Lonzo ball basket ball. Go to our ESPN, Los Angeles, Instagram or Twitter page answer. Today's twelve days of quiz, Mus about John Ireland. Check back tomorrow for another question and good luck. All right. So we're talking about this story that has come out about whether or not people are voiding. Playing with LeBron James, and whether we'll be tough to get a second superstar to come here and play for the Lakers. So this this kind of started, I guess with K D, which is interesting. Katie says it depends on what kind of player you are. If you're Kyle Korver than it makes sense because cow Korver in Atlanta was the bulk of the offense, and he's not a number one option at all not even close. So as talents the way, it's. Be nice to Kyle. So his talents benefit more from a guy who can pass penetrate and get them open. If you're a younger player like Kawhi trying to pair them with LeBron doesn't make sense coli enjoys having the ball in his hands controlling the offense dictating the tempo with this post ups. It's how he plays the game. A lot of young players are developing that skill. They don't need another guy..

"You. Mason and Ireland ESPN LA, high ESPN LA Mason Ireland. We've dwelled on the USC story. Clay Helton come back and said coach the reaction yesterday. I was we were decorating the Christmas tree because Saturday night. We're having the big Mason in one crispy see. Yep. Bring your cookies and while decorating the tree this news came down. Like coal in the stocking Cleal returned certain the trees as head coach at USC Karan disappeared on mad dog radio. What are you doing in here now while ago twenty minutes early it's gonna make somebody feel Carlos is doing some calisthenics doing? Here's here's Kirk Rambus corrobos on on the importance of coaching and what he sees from Luke Walton right now. In this situation. If you've got a veteran team, and you have to just tweak things every now and again in practice work on some minor deficiencies, but the team is strong the players are strong. They've got continuity and chemistry out there on the floor than in game adjustments become paramount for that coach. But if you've got a new team like Luca's, it's about getting everybody on the same page, you get different guys from different systems different vocabulary different ways of doing things different viewpoints from the offensive end. So it's about getting everybody thinking in reacting the same way, and you need a lot of practice time to do that you need a lot of conversations you need a lot of videotape. Watching you need a lot of individual and group sessions to help all the players as a team and as individuals improve so practice time, he's got his got his hands full every practice. He goes to. Yeah. And I mean, obviously, still working on rotations and trying to figure those out and trying to figure out what works best. And trying to the starting lineup as it is has played much better in terms of net rating his improved in the last three weeks or so night last heading into last night. The they were I wanna say fifth or six in defensive rating over the previous nine games. Yeah. And then they've gotten better. And of course, the second and third quarter yesterday for some reason cow Kouzmin talk tobacco about actually the fans. You know, they told all you know, they kind of got an down disinterested in the game. You know, we're giving don't have. And you know, let them dictate what they wanted to do. And you know, the energy flipped in the fourth when we kinda got back into. Well, yeah. That happens when you give up giant leads and play terribly do become decision. When you get good and score lots of points. And look like you might win the game. They get into it. Again. Here's Rambus, by the way on who's got who's got unbelievable upside for the lake everybody that in the Laker organization feels very strongly about all of our young ball players. But Brandon Ingram that guy that probably has the highest upside whether or not he realizes it or not, you know remains to be seen. You know, how much work you put into playing and developing getting stronger and having his game evolve. But he's the player that probably has the biggest upside. So if you're looking at for future, you might go with friend. So there is support for Brandon again, I'm I didn't hear the question. But I'm assuming that in some way, it was phrased as a kouzmine Ramage. I think generally speaking amongst NBA people, none of monk's fans, necessarily, but amongst NBA people. Brandon Ingram is viewed as having a higher ceiling. I don't even question there. I it's for a lot of reasons the first one is age, right? Ingram's younger a couple years. And in in NBA, Kyle Kuzma is obviously a young man..

"It's it's it's been quiet since the admonishment, but there's been another modest something bubbling under the surface. All right. But I will tell you next Mason and Ireland ESPN LA, I Mason Ireland claim there is drama and a first before we get to drama Monday is Veterans Day, and we are unabashedly supportive of the pollen genetically pro-military on the coast serve this nation. And so what we decided was we would bring in some veterans to co host parts of the show with us and. Greg mpg has been putting that together Greg stand now. But great we were originally going to do one in the first hour one in the second hour one in the third are the third hour. We already know is going to be Christian Florez who was with us before he's the guy that at on a dare he he got a Mason in Ireland logo tattooed on his body. Because we said anybody who does that can come in and host fast-track he came in and hosted fast track and was excellent as fan because he was he was in Afghanistan. I'll tell you what that's a we liked him so much we're bringing him back for the third out that guy could do a show here, and he wants to do this. He wants to be radio talk show host. But great for the first two hours. You had a good problem. Right. Yes. I had a very good problem. I got so many emails from people because I add people Email me when once they DM me, and the so many good ones in so many really good stories that I'm going to do two people per hour now. All right. So now, we're going to five different veterans in here. You're still you're still sorting out who gets into I four I think I have them. Pretty locked down at this point yet. No, they do not sold that and win after you notify them. Then maybe tomorrow, you can you can tell us who's coming in. But we're gonna have we're going to have a different veteran every half hour starting at noon on Monday, which will be real. And there's some really interesting people in some really interesting stories you'll have to preview some of that as we get through the week. All right. So here's the here's the question, and our friend, Andy Chemnitz sqi is the one that actually wrote this this article, which athlet on the this article is excellent. He says Magic Johnson supporting Luke Walton isn't the same as believing in him. He says Magic Johnson has always been a manipulator. This is not meant as a character flaw. In fact, it's chief among the reasons for his unbelievable success in life and there've been lapses like Lonzo ball, your your jersey will hang in the rafters all that kind of stuff. With that in mind. The recent magic chewing out Luke Walton over the team slow start system free generally crappy defense, and this turns into a big deal and we've talked about this. I don't exactly know how this gets out who had helps who do you think it helps who what gets out specifically the chewing out of Luke Walton?.

"Mason Ireland show, I'm John Ireland back in the studio Mason, apparently a Greg. I'm guessing the reason he took today off because he he says he started too much energy Dodger Stadium this weekend. Well, the guy went to every World Series game. Plus a Rams game. He was in a stadium for a lot of time. Yeah. I mean it was tiring. I was in three different time zones. Thank the Lord, buddy. Ben Lyons was available to pinch hit. How you doing man doing? Well, thanks for having me. I was expecting John Ireland midseason form Lakers at Minnesota. Fly back land watched two episodes of game of thrones. And then join us on the golf course this morning. Wait a minute. When you told me you guys were playing I thought about it. But we landed we landed at one fifteen I hit the pillow at about three. I thought you know, if I just stay up. Yes. It wurley time. If I got caught in were one hundred percent right on there. And I get my taming my mom airport. Tomorrow morning early. I have to be somewhat functional, but so much to talk about your dodger fan, I'm a dodger fan Mason. And Greg have been wallowing in this in this dodger posted more day hangover, you know, it's real, okay? So it'd be hungover anybody's hung over for two days. That's here's where here's where I want to start as you may know, Greg Bergman hosts like this crazy. And by the way, see if you can find him some headphones that actually work first day of the because this segment of me talking to you won't work until he has to guy. I got no you need to hear him. I I know radio is. Four. I've said watched Greg on this livestream. And in the last couple of nights is just been a lot of. Well, the issue becomes now that since the dodgers have lost the World Series two years in a row that the dodgers fans have become spoiled. All right. Let me give you some facts in the last eleven years since Clayton Kershaw was a rookie. Okay. The dodgers have made the playoffs. Eight times in eleven years. They've won six division titles. All right. They've won the pennant twice and have been to the World Series two years in row yet. Greg who hosts like a Facebook periscope. You know, he basically is where fans go to complain after the dodgers lose or to gloat after they win. You put up a poll explained to the audience what the pull was in what the? Current results are all right. So I said I'm curious how how split dodger fans are about. Dave Roberts on one side, doc in three years has gone to three S's two World Series on the other side. People think that doc feel for the game is off in that. He is a puppet, right? So I said, no, I have no opinion. That's just curious. What do you guys think about Dave Roberts? Do you want him back or not signed long-term or let duck walk? What do you think? The results were. All right. Then what are the results has? I would guess that most dodger fans coming off the heels of another World Series loss would say that they would want to move on. Right. That's what you'd think fifty five percents that they want doc long-term fifty and so forty five percent percents out. Yep. Say goodbye, Ben. What if you're in the dodgers, what would you do about Dave Roberts? I'm a big believer in consistency. I never really understood the move on from Mattingly. I thought they were continuing to knock on the door. If you're in the playoffs every year he had won three division title. Share the suffer can like we got Cory. You're coming back this year. Right. You're right. Your team lose a guy Cory Seager for a season. And it's a panic situation in for them. They're able to right the ship and have a kind of an unremarkable ninety two win season or something. I would have I would stay with Dave Roberts. I don't get the constant moving of a manager. I don't think that's the secret sauce. Greg. What would you do? Why would you answer your own question? I'm so split because for the most part..
