What to Expect at Apple's 'Spring Loaded' Event

"Going to have an event there their spring event the call it spring loaded which you know i mean you can spend a little too much energy reading apples tea leaves. They don't tell you anything but implies that it's going to be a big event it's loaded right with stuff hard to know exactly what apple is going to announce You we get some leaks from the what they call the supply chain that the people who manufacture it mostly in china. It's hard to control those leaks for apple. Apple's pretty good at keeping its employees from telling anybody anything but You know the factory workers in china they're low paid. It's probably not too hard to get them to you. Know leak out information. So the supply chain has some information for instance We're pretty sure. The rumor mill. We not me. i don't know anything. The rumor mill is pretty. Sure there'll be a new ipad but it'll be the high anti has the ipad pro and they're kind of do a year old now. I actually love the ipad pro. It's expensive it's as expensive as a laptop computer so it's really buying a laptop once you had the keyboard and the track pad and the you know it. It's really buying a laptop with A more of a i o s like operating system so it kinda depends on what you prefer. It's a simpler operating system. If you're used to desktop computing might feel a little constricted but on the other hand. Simpler is easier to use for people like roger. It's really a or anybody who doesn't want to be a computer whiz. It's always a good choice. The ipad pro. We think we'll have a new screen technology that apple is going to be embracing across all its ipads and laptops called many led and really. It's an lcd screen. Just like they've been using but with a better backlight system little tiny. Led's across the whole back so it's got full array local dimming. The technology they talk about. Which gives you better contrast ratio. Because you really a better picture

Are you eating popcorn no okay. That's what i was thinking. Too many carbs. Okay so i made. I made it especially for your birthday party likely. Thanks so yeah moving to the current events. Guess who is making see he is now is india. Yes nvidia as making. Cpu's they're known as a gpu maker gamers know about them on as far as pc gamers though anyway. Yeah yeah yeah your console gamers out there. You may be like who is in video ya at vidya is gonna start competing with amd and a video in the cpu market but mainly for general purpose data centers and a all right now. The gps maker will be making arm. Cpa's this fall as last year's bid to buy arm by video The new chip which is named grace as dudes go on sale in twenty twenty three at will combine. A number of gp is an arm based cps to produce a package which will handle the most advanced machine learning calculations i used for science with the swiss national computing centre and the us whilst alamo's national lab paresh kyra in invidia data center. In fact microsoft. On monday this past week agreed to Sixteen billion dollar deal to buy nuance communications a company specializing in language systems and healthcare and video revealed at wanted to go deep into the data center processing when they announced they would purchase arm a deal which is currently facing regulatory as she has and has not yet been approved by all international parties. That needs to approve. Sell at videos getting to the process or game job might surprise. Some people might not. I doesn't surprise me. it doesn't surprise me. I mean you know it's a computer god. Companies are just making another different component right and like you said the are mostly known for their graphics cards. But you know i mean. It's probably not that difficult to make out with thing about logistically right now. Something the thing about for this. Who don't know arm does not make processors themselves companies license. The arm technology and is that apple uses arm processors. That they made gotcha okay. Android phones off types. He is arm processors that they've license so on so forth the the raspberry. Pi uses an arm processor. Okay and they're they're licensed to different companies to make the processors so that's how arm is making. Its money they're just Give it the licenses or not. Just give it salad the licenses to different companies interesting all right all right the next jeff. I'm ready all right so today. Second story apparently half of us gamers prefer free video games. According to a poll held on emarketer dot com fifty percent of us gamers prefer to receive the majority of their gaming experiences free of charge. The same poll also showed that thirty seven percent of gamers would rather pay for each game. Individually eight percent would rather use a subscription service with the remaining five percent of the gamers being added. This shows a significant shift in consumer expectations as will gaming and more freemium gaming experiences are becoming ever more prevalent games. Four war frame doda can all be obtained free of charge for billions of dollars. Annually methods such as microtransactions in the ability to purchase premium in game. Currency results of this poll are indicative of the shift that we have seen in the way we receive our content in the past ten years or so their silver free methods to watch movies. Tv shows such as youtube to the not while premium subscription services. Such as netflix. Hbo disney plus continue become more and more popular while talked about game services subscription based game services such as playstation plus xbox game passing game fly have also been around for several years holding strong. But what could a constant stream of premiums free gaming experiences mean for these companies and for the industry as a whole. Yeah kind of does that surprise me. You know my parents are still alive. I have my parents. My dad specifically he would play games on this phone but he said he would not buy anything on the app store. Yes the thing. I think it's just the time right now because the kids these days they've grown up this playing games on their phones or their ipads and then is still a couple of years ago. It was like the hottest game on the planet like billions of dollars a year popular so popular as popular as it was two years ago. I mean yeah. Don't be popular. But i think it's just crazy just you know just the shift in the market. Just you know i mean. Obviously we games. I came out. There are pretty pricey depending on what assistant you're getting what dame whatever but any no round like the ninety s things started even out and then most games started selling for fifty bucks and then the two thousand world around sixty you now we have like microtransactions and dlc all that kind of thing to supplement the actual price of the game that you're paying for it now. We have like these freemium games and keyboard spending the dollars a month by you know guns and hats and skins all type of stuff we also have these subscription services like you know like i mentioned before like game fly and position pausing game pass versus like you pay a monthly fee. And then you get you know. I guess not free games but you get access to way more games than you would have if you had to pay for each one individually like i said that is also have to do with the way we consume media the way we consume. Music has changed drastically blast twenty years. Same thing with movies and books to use after to go to buy a book. Now you can. Bring up your iphone your tim goal. You're up and remember.

What to Expect From Apple’s “Spring Loaded” Event on April 20

"Apple is holding its event next week. What are we expecting. I think at this point with apple. You're probably looking at the next versions of the match. You're transitioning to you that emlyn remember back in the winter. We had the look air. The thirteen inch pro in the mac mini. Mike gut tells me in with an m one but other option is also that sixteen inch macbook pro. I figured you'd eat away on those and of course people have always been talking about this. Spring event is being the next ipad pro. Which could get 'em one chip or something similar to. Its as they continue that sort of weird mind meld between the tablets side and the computer stuff. That's an interesting suggestion. Do you think that they start. Converging the further or you think they'll keep them separate though still. Have some sort of aid chip processor for the ipad pro. I think the chips are going to become increasingly similar. Even if they use different letters for the the a whatever in the ipad pro and the whatever in the max they they may have different nomenclature essentially doing the same thing as the absolute negativity for those platforms become more and more similar sheila sophoclean however i feels like apple's business models still relied on keeping these two separate to the point where they had the ad with the kid using an ipad and such what computer they happened to kit. Goes what the computer. And that's more fanciful thinking on their part than reality. People take their ipads computers. Likely people think of their phones at as computers. Now i spend a good deal of of several days a week probably working exclusively from a phone getting the same stuff done. I would normally do city at a computer. We're not there yet. But i think the ipad pro comes very close to that if you have the right kind of keyboard in touch fan combo and frankly the latest. The latest macbooks feel very much like the ipad version of that because they are becoming much more. I think mobile century in terms of their native

I told you yesterday of global numbers from any those had folks spending record amounts in apple's app store as well as the google play store both seeing revenue growth of forty percent in the first quarter of twenty twenty one with combined revenue of thirty two billion dollars. "We got some news here. We got an apple event. An actual date on it. And i think this time around. It was like a lot of rumors that there was going to be an event sooner than it didn't happen and i just stuff happening on social media. But you know everyone's trying to always predict when the next apple events going to be because it tends to mean new products to look at or at least they're going to announce and there's many different products that could fit into somebody's events. Many product categories where people are waiting for new things. Well as always new things. Well of course it seems kind of funny that whole process of waiting for the new thing when there's always new things it's like china line it exactly with the newness like i want it. When it's the newest hands kind of thing they glenmede by this is you have those buyer's guides for products and it's not about when you need the thing. It's about like don't upgrade. Now there's going to be a new one and fear that you're going to buy the thing and then two weeks later is going to be a new one or even a month like people want that whole year out of their thing. I mean i kind of get it understand it but anyway in this case apple's going to be putting out some stuff it's wwe's can be a virtual event so obviously once upon a time you will have people physically show up to developers conference and it's not just about product talk because obviously it's also about development They put a lot of attention on app developers. Run out of iPhone storage? Here's what to do

"You know there's nothing more frustrating as a smartphone owner. Especially if you have an iphone and to snap some pictures or download an app or download a movie only to get the prompt that you have run out of storage that typically triggers the process of going to your settings and storage then digging around for all the apps that are taking up all this space that you don't use anymore c. can delete them or just looking through old picks that maybe you save for year two and thinking. I've already back these up. I need to get these off my phone joining us. Now is usa today tech columnist. Mark saltzman to help us free up some space on our iphones and ipads mark. Thanks for being here. and thanks. For having me brent goods chat with you so your new column available on dot. Usa today dot com breaks down your options by good better and best. So let's start with the good. What's the good way to free up storage on your phone sure. It's a good way to do it because it's free and you don't need the internet But it can be a bit cumbersome to do so what i'm referring to is connecting your iphone or ipad to a computer. It could be a pc or a mac with the charging cable that you get in the box and manually dragging and dropping all your photos and videos onto your computer's hard drive so that you can delete it then from your iowa device you can do it wirelessly to with airdrop if you do have a mac. But if i'm sure most of the readers out there are and listeners to talking tech or on a windows just statistically so you would need that cable. The problem is at it. I said it's cumbersome because not only do you have to find the folder within the iphone called d. im which is just like a smartphone cameras like memory card or smartphone or a regular cameras memory card. But you have to. It doesn't always work when you try to copy them over. Sometimes there's stubborn files that won't copy but it is an offline and free way to do it so that once they're backed up you can then delete them off your phone and free up valuable space to download more apps or shoot more four k or a k video and so on and so forth you can do that for android by the way as well but for iphone when you there's no expandable storage not the best way but it is an option and it's free so of course if you don't want to deal with the hassle of plugging in your phone or tablet another computer or you're just out and about and you you're not near your computer. You always have the option to save to the cloud right right so the second way to free up storage on your iphone or ipad is to leverage cloud services. So whether it's wi fi or cellular if you have a healthy data plan is that you can set it up to every time you take a photo or shoot a video at wirelessly backs up a copy to the cloud. So with apple's own icloud for example. It does work very seamlessly but keep in mind. You will have to pay if it is over data if you don't have a great plan And then even if you do it for free over wi fi at home you're still limited to five gigabytes of storage for free and that's going to run out pretty quickly. I suspect if you like to take a lot of photos videos specially videos because they're larger files so you can pay for more You know by buying a couple of gigabytes a month or even a terabyte or two if you like but once just know that like every other subscription service once you stop paying your. You're done you know you won't be able to access all those files. Plus you're going to need the internet access in order to access those cloud stored photos and videos as well so few are on a vacation. And you wanna look at the photos that you just captured in your on an airplane will. You're going to have to pay for wi fi to access your cloud storage photos. So it's not a perfect solution but it's a convenient one and it's also ideal if you wanna share those memories with someone that you're not with physically you can send them a link to download them off icloud so it is convenient and there are other services to dropbox and one drive and so on but it's still a good alternative to a backing up through your computer so of two options. Neither of these are the best option when it comes to looking to offload your photos videos apps to get more storage space. What should listeners consider. Okay so both online and an offline solution is your best bet is to hedge your bets but in my opinion the best way to do it is with these specialty. Thumb drives that are now available that snap into the bottom of your iphone or ipad. It automatically launches an app and then it will copy over everything over to your drive. It looks at what's new So if anything's been changed or new or is brand new to your device than automatically makes a copy off to the thumb drive. There's a couple on the market. There's one that just debuted on the seventeenth and it's called the sandisk. I expand locks l. u. x. e. and on one end of this small little thumb. Drive is a lightning connector. So that will plug into the iphone and some ipads than on the other. End is a usb connector. So that will plug than into a pc a mac or ipad pro ipad air. The new the new ones and it will that way you can transfer back and forth but you by the amount of storage you need in. There's no monthly subscription costs or anything prices. Start at forty nine dollars for sixty four gigs. And then it goes all the way up to eighty nine for two hundred and fifty six gigs. And then there's also a one twenty eight version but the ideas that you can easily back up to the thumb drivers a little loop to keep it on your key chain and not only. Here's one of those sort of lesser known features of these. Little drives is that you can load this up with a with photos a movies. Tv shows and songs and then snap into your ipad or iphone and access them right off the drive itself. So you don't even have to install it on the phone or tablet so it's another sort of convenience secondary feature of these little drives so again Sandisk has one that. I really liked but there are other companies that make them to

"Weird right so it sounds to me that you see absolutely zero upside to whether doing here none zero. No i mean it looks. Okay freddie mac justin along the lines of whatever other commercials into would have done. We wouldn't be talking about right now. So you're saying they wanted to look like cloud. I mean the internet is weird. Internet is so weird. It's it's we can't avoid the means the means our land mines we always step on right okay and and and not look for the record. I'm just putting that out. There is the complexity of the conversation. That i was talking about. We will when we. When i happened yesterday. Yeah is like that. They may have executed it poorly. Okay but that is news guy becoming the pc guy. It's on every tech website right. It's on this show. it's on every show. It's on even if it plays in a person's home on on tv okay. What is their take away. The mac is a pc guy. Okay i'm talking to the average everson. That isn't really super invested in it the way that we are that is in analyzing one benchmarks but when you make a commercial like this where it's worth this exact transfer right person x. Has now become person. Y when you have that type of marketing campaign it just doesn't it's. It's the bad luck especially in north america dude. It's awkward has everything you're saying right. I completely how's that a win because any manner because at the end in the end what is the necessary. Take away the necessary takeaways that you watched it because if you watched it you would at least recognize the fact at least in the case of this clip that oh yeah. Apple doesn't have a two one product. That's it okay. All you need to know. That's their goal. How else does intel let me know and everyone in the world. No in a moment for reasonable amount of money right that they have a two in one products that david two in one and apple. Doesn't they tried it with a kid. They headed random. Nobody do the exact same thing. And i guess they're calling the person and not an actor young actor be like i want the the surface. I don't remember what the heck was. Because i can do this. And that bit and flap it whatever else. Okay and it didn't make news it was like. Oh there's intel being petty again. Sure if you're gonna be petty. Bring a big. I guess it. I guess it's effective in. That manner should also gets the mac people screaming like the or laughing. I'm a mac guy looking talking. Sure like the people get people hate this conversation about like the idea of. It's like if a tree falls in the woods and no one's there the the weird philosophical conversation step one of marketing is getting a message to you right any message and it's it's better than no message is better than no message right in most circumstances because look if you were such a hardcore mac person that this really bugs you were. You're one of these people in the comments. That are angry about it. you're going to buy it anyway. Yeah that's true. I i just from the from the perspective of efficacy right. People are watching this and now going. Oh now my purchase decision is made. I will be going for that. No it's not that fast though. It doesn't need to be that fast. It's just now there's a fragment inside your mind of i should probably also check out to ones and you're not even sure how it got there. Yeah okay from that perspective. I can see how this celebrity. That's the one thing you could say they could have got. Lebron james paid him pepsi. Money wouldn't have had the kind of shotgun what is much reaching tech community..

"So yeah there are. These things are opening back up and I guess people who pumped they're gonna go in by twenty dollar popcorn. Lebron james has jumped ship from coca cola to pepsico and he will be the new face of mountain dew. That a big deal. I'm not a big deal. It's surprising to me though. What was the last thing you heard of a celebrity endorsements between those two specific companies. That's big oh that's actually the next story. There's someone else the next stories around a switch from two very big companies really below. Just let's start with this one. Let's start with this movie. That's so funny did you. Did you specifically choose the order of these to go. it was thought I actually just long. We talked about it on yesterday's episode. Okay so i didn't know if i was going to bring it up but i just want to get your take on it. Yeah i was so conflicted like the the the the way we were having to dance to discuss it like it. Just if it's just a weird. I don't need to dance. I'll rip into it but we get there. I mean i don't know your name. I didn't mean to dance either was just. It's just a car. It's more complicated. I think than than than it might seem on the surface. Sure that's all i'm saying. Okay but anyway go. Back to to the bron- let's go to lebron. So i have a few questions about this one These are huge. Obviously huge brands right Pepsi pepsi had a big presence. Obviously at the super bowl. They always do. They had the the halftime show. Coca-cola opted to not have a commercial at all which i think is the first time in a very long time. You've skipped it. Yeah normally they would have. They'd let pepsi have the halftime show. Then they have a big To remind you that exist. Yeah so coca cola not doing that and now also not reopeing paying paying. Lebron indicates to me that coca cola may not be super interested in marketing. the way that had previously has See i don't know how this kind of marketing is..

"Plus nine one plus nine perot. You've heard these things you have. Okay i have heard of the know something about this. They have put a lot of effort and energy into charge speed. I'm not just one. Plus obviously a variety of brands are doing such a thing but it seems to be mostly just the chinese brands. That care about hewlett during this to you you rarely hear The samsung even talk about it. I don't know but it's not a big part of apple. It's not a huge marketing thing. But companies like oneplus auto xiaomi The whole the whole bunch are taking care of you if you like fast charging that's for sure so is that it is important to you. Well that's actually where i was going to go. I like fast charging. I hate it. I am not a reliable charger. Me neither okay. So that's where it comes in for me is just. I'm trying to get away from being so hooked to my phone but what that means is oftentimes pick. It'd be almost dead. My my phone is not one hundred percent in like three months. Exactly so never makes so. That's where this comes in for. Me is all often believing a house. And i really need to have a phone on me at that moment because i need to be reached right. I'll look at my phone. It'll be super low and and get a little nervous. Well no it's not even a nursing. It's just it's more like an annoyance thing where unlike look if my wife can't get a homey she's gonna panic and what i can't i'm gonna have to have at least on so if i can throw it on a charger for fifteen and have the rest of the day battery life. Yeah that is just like super useful. What's the alternative the alternative. You keep a car charger. Assuming you're going in with lesson things sometimes. I'm not going to car okay. There's other is this a variety of of circumstance. And then even even you could make the argument. See the thing is. I'm so close to work. I've never in a car that long. I'm only in a car for like ten minutes. Not enough to juicy all the give me anything unless i got some fast charging anyway with the oneplus nine pro. "It's an exciting day. Will we have what i believe and we just talked about it. What i believe is our very first guest on this show in on this channel. That's right it's apparently what to do. And we're kicking it off with a bang right here. We have I don't know if you care about. We have some new ipads launching. Apparently hiring ads are popular now because of kovic so there's winners and losers here. As far as is concerned everybody was upgrading. Their home setups. Y'all because they had to work from home I guess you've been mostly in ho everybody's a lot So anyway they're putting out some some new ones. Presumably an ipad pro line. Refresh rumors are going to do this. What does it many. Led you saw this. Like the mini led. Have you seen him in led screen like on a laptop or anything Have a i've seen on tv. I've never seen on. tv right. What do they have them on. Tv i don't like it as much as lead on at least which is weird because the the other report here is that the ipad air is going to receive an oleh display and the many led tech would be reserved for bro. Really so i mean obviously are making a substantial bet that it'll be a better experience than ola. But so from what i've seen on at least on laptop plays oleg panels have an issue with a color accuracy like when you adjust the brightness on ola panel mess with a color accuracy. Everything's so poppy too. So contrast is tough to tony that for professional work it might not be ideal yeah for content consumption off the best incredible right so you have. Maybe oh that is better. Is the better choice for tv's and maybe many led ends up being to choice for five tops Certainly with the pros. They're gonna they're gonna have a higher sticker price so whatever costs are incurred from upgrading that particular to that particular display tag they can. They can compensate the bacon. How long it's taken them though. Like if you think about how every other talent out there has been using for one every phone. Yeah they were slow on the phone the phone as well. i mean. that's apples thing. isn't it. take your time way to see how it goes. Yeah for a while. Now least who right but i feel like on the i. It was just strange that the ipads had like ips displays forever when everyone else was delivering lead. Well what about what about fingerprint. Unlock stuff like that. They are slow. The rumor is now they're going to do it. That's how i mean it's a rumor for now or they would. They put touch. Id back in the ipad air in the button. Yeah which would they have done that without cove it. I don't know but it's one of those things where apple seems to be somewhat stubborn around Their decisions if at least they were. I feel like they've gone a little bit maybe quicker. Yeah which is cool. Because i feel like having multiple methods is a is a. It's the way thing. Yeah sure super super helpful anyway There is a chart on bloomberg article of how well the ipad is. actually doing. You can see from twenty eighteen all the way up to q four thousand twenty..

Getting chippy: ‘I’m a Mac’ guy is now just a guy who likes PCs better in ad campaign from Intel

"If you haven't seen them until put out a series of commercials with justin. I'm a mac guy. And he's he's as i'm a. I'm just adjusting. Just i'm a human being. He goes and he goes into the living room and he talks to a person on it looks and he's like. Oh wow. this has two screens. Oh well this guy's playing video games this stuff you could never do unimak the end There's one that the key word on the front computer with the second screen. They they screwed up the after effects audit and the second screen is hovering over his hands in like a split second anyway. So these are the commercials. I think these ads are mostly just integrate itself dunked on select just objectively. The ads didn't work the way they wanted to. Yeah let me make the case for the ads. Intel is about to enter a new ceo. Yep they're about to enter this extremely weird middle period where either going to figure it out or not. Yep inside of that middle period every time apple puts out an m one or m series computer. Yup the story about until being dead is everywhere yep into also has hundreds of oem customers with their chips inside their computers. These are ads about real problems with max so like it is true that you cannot touch the screen unimak yes. Many people have noticed this. It is true that you can't follow it over and a tablet is true that you can't use the silence on it. It is true that apple really wants you to have we. Did we talked about fitness. Plus with ashley like apple wants you have an ipad iphone and mac like yep that is true that there are no games on a mac like none of intel's points for wrong. It is true that the design of a mac has been static for years In even with the new chips they still look the same yup and maybe that will change now but on itself is true so the things that intel is saying are just true. Criticisms of the mac get hundred percent. That's it that's all i got. I obviously did not work out. Yeah the thing like every time apple releases a new Embraced mac it's going to be intel's dead. Stories is really every single time. I talked to a company about it. He left hopper. Like you chromebooks. Whatever it's like yeah but M one like here's your battery. Life is like actually half of what the competition is. And it's gonna be a long time before there's an answer and like to do with itself in that that period yet again new. Ceo he just started. I think in a couple of weeks. He's going to do his first. Big thing is the first big thing that the screw it. We're we're giving up on trying to have this stuff ourselves we're just gonna have to use mc make our stuff. Yeah we'll see. That was a big striking for those wishing. He's got to do something that's really. They're about to enter this weird fallow period and the whole point of the new to change the strategy and he just started. So what's the first thing to do is like just remind everybody that from a design and capability perspective. That mac is like actually quite static. Yeah okay well. Maybe like microsoft tries this every couple of years to like maybe had very predictable results. But like i get it i understand i. Just don't i think maybe they should have seen the predictable result on the other hand hiring justin long that made everybody talk about until that's sure got it themselves a whole if you believe all is good press which do not as a method. They bought themselves a cycle. We'll see

The COVID Effect is a Boon for Kids Online Gaming

"If you had to guess one company that saw revenues absolutely skyrocket in twenty twenty. What would you say you might think. I don't know what zoom maybe peril others another brand benefiting from a rough twenty twenty. It's roadblocks and online game that counts middle schoolers as its biggest fans. Don't ask me how. I know if you have a preteen noah preteen or are a preteen. Chances are you've heard of blocks. He lets users around one hundred fifty million a month build and play video games without needing to know how to write code. It's free to join. The company makes money through the sale of in-app purchases using its own virtual currency users can buy costumes for their virtual characters or jump up a level or two game and when i say roadblocks makes money i do mean a lot of money. Roablock says revenue jumped seventy percent between september twenty nineteen and september twenty twenty two more than six hundred million dollars. The motley fool reported that the games daily users number over thirty million people. Those figures have investors drooling and last week. They got a chance to buy into roadblocks wild success when the company went public the platforms value soared sixty percent to forty seven billion dollars after its first day of trading so who would have thought an online kids game would be exploding in popularity right about now. Well anyone who has a middle schooler at home. If kids seem extra attached to their tech devices at the moment. they're not alone. The amount of time kids spent on screens doubled in the first half of twenty twenty. As compared to the same period the prior year so reports the new york times custodio which tracks device usage kids ages four through fifteen called the cova effect socially isolated kids largely stuck at home made for quite the captive audience and that meant more money for games like roadblocks one reddit users summed it up nicely. Kids who distance learning always have tabs open and roadblocks the user wrote quote and nowhere. Mommy leaves her purse unquote. But roadblocks isn't the only game out there benefiting from all those open internet tabs minecraft has been making microsoft quite proud parent company as of late the game which bills itself as an open ended online video game saw twenty five percent increase in new players in the early months of the pandemic. Unlike roadblocks minecraft users pay up front for access to the game that netted them over four hundred million in revenue last year. Nowhere near roadblocks is twenty twenty revenue but both companies have turned quite the prophet in a year that decimated several industries but the so-called cove effect is only expected to last as long as well. Cova does right best of secret. Even roadblocks said so in its s one filing they wrote quote. We do not expect these activity levels to be sustained and in future periods we expect growth rates for our revenue to decline unquote whether or not usage rates. Actually plummet is more kids. Go back to school. Long-abandoned screen time rules claw their way back into homes that does remain to be seen but one thing is clear. The roadblocks rage has taught us to never underestimate the power of a kid with access to a technological device and knowing where to find a credit card is helpful to come on. Don't just blame the ipad

Looking At The Fuel System: Fuel Gauges

"Talk a lot about it around here Fuel gauges they're they're A very important tool we don't nobody should trust the field gazes early. We want to visually inspect and go. Look at those those tanks and our tanks as well. let's talk about a little bit about the fuel gauges for a second one. I'll tell you as a fly. School owner fuel. Cinders are very expensive so as a fuel center goes bad from a tank to get it. Fixed is a very expensive proposition but one this required so they get fixed but if you'll send her is nothing more than a float and a device that then sends the information to a mechanical electronic fuel gates to give the pilot an indication of where that fuel tank is. And if you fly much at all you've probably seen one that's a little out of out of calibration we'll call it but They should be working. Some planes have A panel that might say low fuel or some other Indication that you're having a fuel system problem but a pretty important part of the fuel system all up is the fuel cinder and the fuel gauges And not one. That i think many student pilots learn about. It's you know. We live in an ipad world while they were. It's either on or off or works or doesn't work but it can give you some good information if i if i want. My one. eighty two to be half full. But the gauges are showing three-fourths. Even dipstick that. I might want to think about this a little bit like i could be way overweight here ryan right not get off the ground. So i should do some investigating. You might not trust them. But i would validate the information that they were sharing with me for sure and one thing i would caution on the very cautious about is airplanes. That have Engine analyzers they're becoming more and more common. I've i've got them in in both my airplanes and We you have the ability to tell the engine monitor. How much fuel is on board the airplane so You know i. I have j. P. is mine and every time we start up at asks if we feel the airplane and you either say yes or no and if you say no it assumes that it has the same amount of fuel in it that It thought it had when we put the airplane to bed the last time we flew it and if we we say yes we filled it up. It will ask you. How much are do you full. Tanks did you. Just add twenty gallons. Whatever just know that that that unit is now taking the amount of fuel that you said was onboard the airplane and it's measuring the the amount of fuel. That's going to the engine and it's giving you a number now again in my airplanes the number is we've got dialed in where it's it's i can almost tell to the tenth of a gallon. How much fuel. I'm going to need when i when i go. Talk the airplane off. But the one thing that that Those engine analyzers will not know they will not know about a fuel leak so If we've got fuel leaking out of the left side or or say someone comes and has taken fuel out of the left side again. Just a leak It doesn't know that because it's not actually a fuel

"The year is twenty twenty. You want a new tablet but you're just not sure which one to get. Apple is now offering an ipad pro and ipad and an ipad air. What model is right for you. It is kind of a tough choice and we have to look at the ipad. Air apples all new very colorful ipad. That starts at five nine thousand nine and goes up from there. This ipad comes in space gray. Silver rose gold green and sky blue in both sixty four gigabyte and two hundred and fifty six gigabytes models and it is a sleek modern ipad for folks who want the best features. They can get out of an ipad without needing to make that extra jump to the pro model. So let's talk about how this compares to the pro and how it compares to the ipad. The first thing that you're going to notice if you're coming from an ipad pro to this ipad model are a lot of similarities for example. It has a smart connector on the side which means that it can connect to the apple pencil second generation and could actually charge that apple pencil as well. You're also going to notice the smart connector on the back which is fantastic because that means that it will work with the smart keyboard that is available for the ipad pro. And if you look at the front of it you're going to notice the rounded corners of the ipad pro so that same rounded edge display which gives it more of an edge to edge display but interestingly where the ipad pro is an eleven inch diagonal screen. This is just a little bit smaller. In fact apple says it is ten point nine inches from diagonal edge to diagnose edge so just a little bit smaller. It has that same usb connector on the bottom it offers the same battery life as the ipad pro and it also has wide color p. three display. So you're going to get that as well. The only difference between the two displays is that the ipad pro can do six hundred nits of brightness. Meaning it's much brighter whereas the ipad air has five hundred minutes of brightness so one hundred nits of brightness that is a special value to measure brightness but the ipad pro has more there the other thing that you will notice that the ipad air does not have what apple's promotion technology which is the technology that ramps up the speed of the fresh rate on the screen so scrolling on an eleven inch ipad pro is much smoother much cleaner whereas on this ten point nine inch ipad air..

"Welcome to the Matt Minutes Episode Eighty Six for Sunday July twenty sixth. Older ipads love it or leave it in fall twenty twenty. This is the MAC minutes podcast with John Scudder where you will hear about the world of Apple, and how technology can help you work smarter personally and professionally. We will give you the news. You can use in minutes. Not Hours. That's why this is. The MAC minutes podcast. This episode is being recorded in Anchorage Alaska. Let's go to the show. In this episode we will begin to help you prepare for the launching of new hardware. Starting in September. Specifically will be looking at ipads, especially for those of you. Who owned two thousand eleven, IPAD, second, second-generation, two, thousand, twelve, IPAD, third or fourth generation or two thousand twelve IPAD mini first generation. If you own an older ipad model, some are now becoming too old to underpowered and completely incompatible with any of the current and future versions of I O. S. and IPAD WES. In addition, these ipad models many which are eight and nine years old will be fully and completely obsolete by the end of twenty twenty. And you will have no older version APPS available for them any longer. So, you might want to consider upgrading when apple makes new hardware announcements this fall. To help illustrate this further. There's a chart at. That B. L., U. B. R. Y. Dot Net showing the twenty one models of ipads released in information about screen size, release, year, discontinuation, date, and the most advanced operating system. They can run now. This is a great chart to illustrate the purpose of this episode. For those of you, who own on older IPAD, there are options, but it is time to say goodbye for a new refurbished or a

"Spa into how it how. It correlates a structural and functional changes in the brain And they did this. They took 'em is they scan forty eight people twenty two of these people supposedly add this smartphone addiction and the study found that the smartphone addiction alters the brain a way similar to what doctors see and drug addicts. He got a picture here. In this post you know in this is published in the Scientific Journal called Addictive Behaviors. Thinking of drawing here in the show like this. Part of the brain is like shrunken. It's just a little bit terrifying. I don't I don't know how much stock to put into this study. You know it's like the first one where that's actually saying. Hey look these. These devices are actually causing physical changes in our bodies but I mean can there be any doubt that it's actually changing the way that we look at things and the way we act I mean I. I'm always curious about what the long term effects of these things are. I mean it's it's if you think back when did come out two thousand eight twelve years ago. I mean when the IPHONE came out. Two Thousand Two thousand seventy two thousand sounds like those you know tinfoil hat brain cancer. Wi Fi radio waves. Jeez am I gonNa bore you which parts are parts of the brain. I supposedly fix. Well how do they? How do they how thick the addicts you know? I mean they literally sweating and shaking if you took phone away. I didn't actually go in and read the entire study because it's You know I it's like I didn't read the study. I guess my question would also be like well. What qualifies you as being addicted? How many how many times are you picking up your day. Because sometimes I feel like well. I have no doubts. I'm addicted to my phone. Yeah we probably all are. I mean most people that I know are addicted to their if if you would classify addicted as meaning. They're constantly looking at it when they're in social groups instead of interacting with people. They're looking at their phone whenever they have a spare moment. They're looking at their phone. This might be Tim. I I can't use the urinal without looking at my phone so like as I'm doing my business I got my phone. I'm usually like on instagram on twitter looking at. What's going on? I whenever I have a free brain cycle. I'm always looking at my phone. I can't be good. Never used one of the urinal thanks. It's not because the network and one of the cardinal rules of the restroom. Don't have the camera out. That's a great point. I never really. It's it's I'm not like pointing at like. Hey look at this. West pointed down at did supported me. Live your emails you're bringing your cooling extremely. You're calling me rule. Breaking your the rule breaker. How would you know that I'm breaking the role? Must you're looking at you? Never you know you walk. Delos look around. Look there's a guy with a phone. What did pointed it stream using that magnification feature. That's working on phones. I don't look when I come to the bathroom. I just go straight to the URINAL I don't make eye contact with anyone you know. I wouldn't even know if there was someone in there that I knew because I won't look at them. No I contacted the men's room. That's that's the cardinal rule and never looked over the wall for sure never looked to your left ear and clearly. There's someone in this chat room. That's breaking that run. It's not mean it's not like the other things that I've heard about somebody. Discussing smartphone addiction is like. Oh what's the first thing you do in the morning? What's the first thing that somebody who smokes cigarettes does in the morning? Looks their phone. Yeah but if you I think you did out of habit right. I don't think he did out of compulsion. It's not like when I used to smoke. I I knew I was. You know I'd be Jonesing for cigarette when I get up in the morning could physically feel it and you can physically fail the relief when you get that nicotine inside you but you know with the phone on the bedside table you know you wake up you just you just do that a habit if it wasn't that if you like different circumstances like on vacation or you know you change your daily habits you know. I. I don't think I need on Jones into the phone. It's not a physical addiction but It's definitely always there and I mean you know the feeling when you actually leave your phone with. Leave Your House without your phone like the panic that sets in you feel naked. Yeah how can you know going to a movie without my phone? Well probably because you know you know that you're gonNA use a cyber whatever it is. Right cybernetic organism. It's part of like you can't pay for things you can't ten you know ten of alarms get taxes. Uber's in other stuff. He apparently my brain shrinking so soon. You'RE GONNA look like that guy and beetlejuice mirror that that duty sprinkled a little powder in his and his brain shrunk wheel. That's one of the things that shrunk out of my brain. I haven't learned my lesson. I WanNa ask you about movie references. Apparently my brain. Because I still can't remember that you never remember. Movie reds references. I'm sure you've seen references. I'm not the Rainman of movie references but is there a level subjects between below me? I guess it's Litz loses level where you don't even realize that you actually saw the movie. Okay Louis what's your next story because We all got a door stories hearing them in a row for the actual apple because this one is really not apple but okay. I'll go anyway so the reason I wanted to talk about it just briefly and this is the biggest story on the Mac this week. And it's it's kind of an opinion piece written by Charlie sorrel headline is. I always have a hard time. Pronouncing is new morphism the big new look for IOS fourteen. I think the re. What do you mean? Sea Skua morphism morphism in. It's spelled like any you. Mr Spotlight skewers. Skew MORPHISM NEW YORK. A design an emerging design trend. And when I wanted I thought about talking about this on the show. That's great. Let's talk about this like well. How do you talk about this visual thing right? It's basically taking flat design. You know his peace talks about the old look pre Iowa seven skew. More design where. There's a lot of like fake wood grain and designed to look like they're real world equivalents APP icons and things and interfaces to mimic the real world and then viola seven apple kind of blew that up right they got rid of it everything with a very flat design and so what Charlie argues in. This piece is that. Iowa seven went way too far in the opposite direction. He's basically you know the confusion of like. Is that a button or is that just tax cartel of visual ambiguity and anyway so he writes clearly. There's a space between these two extremes. Something as clean as Iowa seven and at the same time as obvious usable as Iowa's six previous versions but what would it look like? I knew what I wanted to look like. It's called new morphism and it looks fantastic and Then he has some images screen shots from certain APPs out there that use this sort of Zion. Trinity's it's an interesting thing I mean people are starting to use this kind of thing. Who knows if apple's actually going to you know go embrace this fully in Iowa's fourteen but he has a couple of screen shots from IOS thirteen one of which sort of shows off exactly what he's complaining about and you know the the ambiguity of the current design where you can't really tell what's going on or what you need to tap or whatever But one of the things that he also points out is that in the thirteen markup tools. Are you familiar with this little When you take a screen shot and you go to market up and there's like a little pencil He points out that. It's like a an example of this kind of new morphism and you know so. Perhaps apple is embracing this emerging trend. And maybe we're GONNA see a lot more of it Anyway I bring up. I thought it was interesting article. I hadn't even heard of this before. I like the screen shots. I like like that cold kind of designed discussion. There's a lot of comments a lot of people reading it so I I commend this article to you to read. Yeah it's good good. It's it's really good. It's really interesting. And he did a really good job of it. It's pretty well illustrated. Yeah you kind of have to see you right. You kind of have to see the screen shots and stuff to really get a feel for what he's talking about so willing to show Like someone mentioned that. It looks like The IPOD SMART. Keep Keyboard Which is you know what I thought was actually a pretty out description if I if it were in white rather than black. We'll put a link to this story in the show notes that people can check it out. Why don't I go next lender and then you can we. Can we can air your interview. We'll come back and it was once gone. Will Air Yours. No because no that would never. Let's get going. I'm about to their beards with a great story. It's going to bring them back and then we're going straight to your story. They'll start to tune out again and then right before we lose them. We'll come back. We're going to do an all new. Well we're into boom. We bring them right back in baby. They're kind of be here the whole show so before we actually. I'll just jump right into it so I thought I can't believe we haven't mentioned this before but apparently there is a big. I've had pro refresh on the horizon coming this March but big butts to tease. We'll maybe just talking about you. Want so you got to. Yeah this is what but supplies could be limited. It's been sixteen months since apple introduced the most recent IPAD pro lineup apple is expected to deliver a big. I-ipad PRO refresh this March. And it's it's still on track. Apparently despite the ongoing corona virus epidemic according to a new report supplies could be limited at launch though because production is likely slow to ramp up. So even though it's going to be released it's probably not going to be widely available right away because of all the stuff going on with The corner via Ko Corona virus in China according to digitize quote apple is scheduled to launch. Its new had pro series around March with related suppliers already kicking off production for the model ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday however however their output has started growing solely after the extended Lunar New Year break in. China was shipments unlikely to peak until after April. So that's the big story. We know that we have some new IPADS on the way. I want to read you some other headlines from this week though Apple Warns of iphone supply shortages due to corona virus outbreak. The next one wait for air pods pro. Lite will drag on as production is reportedly delayed Wonder we'll be delaying. That Mac. Books may be in short supply after March. Better get it now. And then the other one the last one ear tags radar on track for a roll out in the second half of twenty twenty but Ming Cheek quo. He's he's warning that these expectations are contingent on health officials in China making significant progress on containing corona virus the corona virus is wreaking havoc in the tech industry. And I think it's just going to get worse. Things are why I said this last week but the more we find out the more it's apparent that things are way worse than you're hearing on the news there are now. I think at least seventy five thousand reported cases but those were just reported cases. Think how many people haven't actually reported they're sick. They don't want to get locked in their homes by the health. Police or carted off to the hospital. Hospital carted off to the hospital with the chain link fence Scott cruise ship with several thousand other people. Make sure they're all infected by the time I let him off and and Foxconn. Their one of their most major factories is still closed while the other one they reopened in only ten percent of their workforce. Show up this is an unbelievable health. I don't even know what you call it. Tragedy going on in China and The the the transmission rates for corona virus or high and mortality rates are high. They're saying it's two percent but I think it's probably higher. That's just what they're saying on the strangest thing about the story. Well the stats. Today I saw today I probably the the the The rates of new infections is actually slowing for the second day in a row. Yeah according to WHO to their official. Yeah okay I know you're GONNA YOU'RE GONNA YOU'RE GONNA like skeptical efficient mystics. Those are the official statistics but that China is not being honest with what is going on a busy trying to hide what's happened. Well you know I I think maybe locally and some people are coming in and stuff like that but I think in a in a global way. I think they are being more open than they were initially right but there's a story that that came out this last week about the origins of Corona virus..

"I digress. Right. Why do you care? Why Cheryl this with you? Because. Kurt Nye come in on a Saturday. Actually, Saturday before Christmas. And it could even the Monday days are just running together. Bow come to the office. And we work in a space that is. Pretty open. We have a vinyl in graphics company below us. We have a woodworking shop kind of behind us with a payroll printing company at attached to us all the spaces are all open. We all know each other the doors are locked, but the internal sides like were on the same team where I'll have creative app outlets to our lives. So we don't really worry much about our belongings. So Kurt Nye are in here for sake of argument on the story. I'm gonna say it was a Saturday. And we're in here, and we need to record some podcasts. So we're getting everything set up. Right. There's a there's a computer outside this office that we track the audio on. And there's lights get turned on and the cameras to get set up. And then what's the cameras are set up? Then we sing it to the ipad. So Kurt checks the audio and has tested, and we're ready. The lights are on the cameras are in position. But there's no I had. We're looking around because I don't know where the ipads at. And so we're looking right. The office and all that big maybe two thousand square feet very open floor plan. And we're checking all the outlets like that. Maybe somehow magically either Hirai plugged in. And just forgot where we play been over. The course of twenty four hours. That we didn't. We did not forget where we played in. That he looks inside his bag like maybe maybe by chance he dropped it into his computer bag would have been perfectly fine with me. Surly don't care if he uses it. But it's not in there. So now now that that thing's going off inside my stomach like I think somebody stole his damn ipad. It's not bad pro, right? It's like one of the big ones at the time. I bought it was a biggest nicest one they had because I was gonna use that instead of a laptop. So I go through my computer bag now, I've never taken this ipad home from the time. I bought it. I brought in the office. I think I've probably used it myself three or four times ever short of leaving the office to go have some meetings and write some notes on it. So I know in my head it's not in my bag, but I'm gonna check anyways. That's not my bag. It's not there. It's now, I'm not really pissed, but I'm certainly frustrated. Like all the stuff we have in here. I mean, I'll just put it out there. We have three different big TV's. We have mauled with different computers. We have audio equipment and video quit in all types of stuff around the office that someone could walk up here in borrow and borrow of course, I mean steel. Why would they take this ipad? Some little getting ready to walk out of this office where record the show at and go down and asked the neighbors. Right. If they borrowed it if they used it is do they see somebody because maybe they had somebody come in. And they didn't watch where they went to. As walking out the door kind of glance over to the right? And we know we've kind of moved our teleprompter over the side. An insight that teleprompter, laying face up is an ipad. The ipad. The same. I've had that is required to transcribe videos is the ipad that we use to create content for the podcast. A little behold there is the ipad. All this. All this searching curtain. I probably both collectively searched for ten minutes an office that. I think if you were to be here you'd see eight you you'd be able to walk around the entire thing and twenty five seconds. We spent far too long for his head..

"Right. You can plug it into something already have right? That's why meeting about the minimum buyin if you don't necessarily want to buy display don't necessarily want to buy keyboard? A mouse just give me what I need to be able to run back and mcelroy's, right? I five has more cash. I don't think the I three has turbo boost. It does have hyper threading, it is free. You know until hasn't helped make it. They. At all. All right. I know why after he started talking about the ipads. I realized why they lead with the MAC books. If if you did the the MacIntosh after the, ipads, it would have been very depressing. Because really all the speed all the power and all the focus is clearly headed towards ipad, ipad pros are much faster. I think they're probably faster than the MAC book airs at this point. They did say that it's it's has a faster faster graphic speed than like ninety two percent of all computers. They They said. said they said more than once they said at least twice that the ipad pros are ni- are faster than ninety two percent of the laptop sold this year. I don't know if that's by volume by I don't know what that is. But or by price, all portable PC. Yeah. These things way way down. However, we have seen benchmarks on the iphone ten s that you say, it's faster than a MAC book, in many cases. So I think this is I'm I came away with a very strong feeling that this is the beginning of the end of Intel for Matt for apple that, really. That's what that's what this whole announcement presaged for me is the beginning of the end. For intel. I agree. I could definitely see the pudding the pudding their own arm processors end consumer grade machines, like there'll be a level of macbook air will be a level of neck, medieval Beal level of I MAC now the has grown custom chips in it. I don't know if apple can produce the sort of chips that had the performance of the highest performance Intel chips. Yeah. I don't know when that's going to happen. That's why I find it to believe that that will ever do a complete turnover of their chip line. But it definitely has an advantages to have an Arab ship somewhere in amac's somewhere in the product life. Well, they started off talking about the eight twelve x biotic which is even better the twelve bionic in the new iphones. This is a chip with the seven nanometer process. The first, you know, mass production seven nanometer chip, I think they're getting these from TSMC, and I have to point out until hasn't even gotten to ten nanometers. Yet again, admittedly. I don't think you're gonna see a two hundred sixty five watt Zeon class processor. And I bet at any point that I know you're not no mobile device with have anything like that. But I do feel like they're they're really positioning these as beasts in in terms of performance. Let's start though with the form factor because that's a big change and much is expected. They did there's two ways you can take advantage of these narrower narrower Basil's, you can get more screening device at the same size. That's what they're doing with the eleven inch ipad pro or the same screen on a smaller size. And that's what they did with twelve point nine. It's got the same screen size and resolution as the old ipad pro twelve point nine, but on a form factor. They say sm- about the size of an eight and a half by eleven piece of paper. And I have to say I bought a twelve point nine hundred I came out, and it did feel a little big for me. I actually ended up giving that to an employee because it just. But, but if you get it down to the size of a piece of paper that might not be be pretty usable. And I have. It's not just the insides piece of paper, the fact that they've removed all that glass and all that eliminating it feels so you felt him. Yeah. Tell us. And almost really almost felt like up prompted a hollow shell plastic compared to the twelve point nine inch ipad pro that for the past three years, the hard edges are a big win for for some reason..

"I think I think you on now kind of come full circle really in in the you have ipads and you use them, but for specific purposes, and then we both shifted to use them for all the time. Everything. Right. And then you have kind of gone back again. Yep. So do you plan to buy your products this year? Do you think the one? Do you want any new max like or the idea of any new MAC site? You and all these new potential ipads with face ID and they're going to have big screens, all small physical bodies and incredible new technology de river. These poor like terriers excite you now, I think I'm going to be passing on new ipads for the first time in a long time just be just because my uses so so relatively limited interest. I don't. I don't feel that this is a purchase that make sense right now. So I think I think I'm going to be passing on it, which is which is a shock like it's the first time in a while I was, I was really hoping out for what I think of as I had micro, which would have been the big phone with the apple pencil support, but. That has been sadly, sadly, pretty much confirmed is not going to happen. I would have loved that. And I would have used that as like a little ipad. My grope, but no, as far as big ipads go, I don't think I'm going to. I don't think I'm going to be doing that. We'll see. Yeah, I, I like I never made promises for my future self, but when I think of purchases is not is not like the phone, which is a guaranteed like when the new phone comes out for sure, that's that's what I'll be getting. So she wants to know what is one piece of technology that you've acquired in two thousand eighteen major life easier. So for me, I've been trying to improve my walking posture in different ways because I feel like I'm getting some agronomic impact from our way the I've been using my devices, especially my Iowa's devices of my iphone and my ipad. I think I'm spending too much time with my head looking down and I've been trying to find some ways to combat that and to. Attracts of entered my life recently which have been helpful. I think one is an ipad stand called the tab of stand, which is stand from this company thing could colebrook Bossons saunas that very much a we will supply your new office of a bunch of equipment company, right? Right. But they do sell some products individually to consumers and this standard really nice. It's a justifiable to order types of tablet. Size is a good way to base and I can bring my ipad up to a pretty high height to kind of like the I level height. I would want. I feel really happy with this. Yeah, and I use it with a magic keyboard a my apple pencil. So if I'm any desk with my ipad, I can use it and it's really great, and I've been really happy with it. I makes me feel comfortable to use the devices have been happy with that and company called bridge. They make a Keeble product for the ipad pro to turn into kind of like a laptop and they just had a new version came out and they sent me..

"I want to say amber dexterous but you know not not biased towards the right side under right hand windows hella works now without the technology apples upon to it'll just be a fantastic product right and you know it's you've got some time when you open a map book and you know there's some time there were face id can already register you hear it it unlike the phone where you can make arguments about which is faster by the stopwatch it'll should clearly be faster on amac book opening it from a closed position anyway i so i think it's funny that to me the best part about the touch bar system on the current macbook prose is the touch id sensor which i think is likely going away i don't know when but uh anyway i wanna move on onto the ipad side of things which and i think it was a very interesting your for the ipad pro because i think we saw the most serious attempt at an making ipad running on our ios running on ipads more like uh uh uh several steps closer to what would this be like if it was primarily for ipads and not early for our pads like a an ipad os rather than a vanilla iowa us right and i liked all of the ideas i liked the i liked the list of problems they were trying to solve it all seemed there wasn't any aspect of it that i would think i say that i say this you know guardedly because i don't use an ipad pro for a lot of work so i'm judging it sort of as a tourist but i liked it and and as a user interface critic but then as time wore on and they settled in i still think the biggest problem isn't that they didn't come up with good ideas but that it still doesn't go nearly far enough.

"Really like my professional interest in apple as a user of their products and particularly in interesting to go after would feels like has been a long time where there haven't been any updates in in their products so i went i really enjoyed it i feel like they had a whole bunch of exciting announcements which it's it's kind of nice to be there in person for that and to be around people when that's happening why well it's nice to be in person because when you're watching the announcements you can see other people's reactions to things and you know how you know what other people care about and what you care about and this was this was a really good show because everybody got something that they liked and then the other reason i do leg to be there in person is when apple announces that they have new products like this year they have new ipads they give out review units to some of the people who are there and there are circumstances under which may be a person like me can get their hands on the brand new thing to get a first look at it for brief periods of time and that's the kind of thing that you can only do if you are physically at where the conference is happening as just plain exciting like it's it's super fun and super interesting to see the brand new thing that was announced the day before which hasn't gone on sale yet so i i really quite like that who would've thought that you of all people would like fthrough from that luck because you know you going to get it in a few weeks andy by everything you anyway so you can have one who would have thought that liked that kind of.

"Okay dieder back hey how's gone authority i want the ipads saga the up at the big news is the there's a new ipad pro they've replaced the nine point seven with a ten point five basically imagine ipad and then just stretched the screen out so the basil's on the the sides not the at the top and bottom but hurling holy goes on israeli confusing ipad you can hold anyway what the screen and slightly bigger the battles are slightly smaller and the whole devices actually slightly bigger so you need a whole new keyboard it has the a ten x i believe processor so it's a stupid fast processor it has the same camera as an iphone seven that's kind of what you need to know what wanted hurts react wish is that promotion of what it goes to i thought it was to forty it can go up to four no one's gonna yucca um but it it it adaptive it's adaptive and they actually use an image earn isp like you do for a camera lease a signal processor an image processor to dynamically changed the refresh rate based on what's on the screen so it's not always at the max refresh rate at say's battery i imagine it also prevents motion spoofing of so basically like an has true tone as well so uh bacher's good screen a screen it's so good i'm almost like why are you why are you you're already ahead on tablets screens why do you keep doing this suit you stock.
