"Least eight dogs died of heat related injuries after being transported in the back of an uncool cargo van through northern Indiana Thursday night. Police say the dogs that died were among 18 shepherds traveling from Moher International Airport in Chicago to a training facility in Michigan City, Indiana. The driver whom police did not name said he was unaware that the air conditioning in the cargo area had failed until he heard the dogs barking. Then he pulled off of Interstate 94 at a convenience store and gas station in Lake Station, Indiana. When he opened the back the driver found several dogs dead, others suffering. Numerous store employees and passersby stepped in to aid the dogs. In a statement posted online the Lake Station Police Department described the incident as a freak event, but they say it was not a case of animal cruelty or neglect. Residents in Manassas are speaking out about commercial flights that may be heading their way. In a unanimous vote the City Council approved a plan to bring commercial passenger flights to that airport within the next two years. The plan is to initially add up to eight new commercial flights a day and eventually offer as many as 30. Resident Brandon Burton is in favor of the change. Being a resident that travels frequently, I think how amazing would a 10 minute drive to the airport be? But resident John Snyder is worried about the potential of increased noise. The downside of this thing everybody talked about was the noise. We've been told that we're going to get a thorough professional noise study. I wanted if to I see could get something before that. "Away. It was very instrumental in training World War one. All right So yeah, so wait, hold on. Let me understand the Chinese will own the battery plant that will be placed in Michigan Apparently that is what What all right. So yeah, I didn't I didn't know about this The whole battery issue was extremely complex morally and economically because so much child labor and often slave labor is used to extract the materials to make a battery but In this case, presumably it will be American workers Who were making the battery not Chinese, correct Well, this is the the kicker of it apparently on i -94 interstate 94. There's a sign that says big billboard says 2 ,500 jobs But I think it's blue coral electric battery plant and then in the corner, it says something about Ford and What but what people are scratching their heads is because there's help wanted signs all around And They're building a like a manufactured home park. I mean it's going up Very quickly that there's rumor that they're going to be importing Labor for all right. Well that that's a very big deal. I mean Look I the whole Enrichment of China thanks to the battery issue is troubling to me about electric cars But who will work there is very important Hello everybody the hour that you call in on any subject you would like and Let's go to some more of your calls here Elsa good know California Mike hello Hello, Dennis. Um, thank you very much for keeping us informed about all this transgender legislation And all the problems with it as well as with these Dr. Mengele type doctors are doing I just want to inform you in case you don't already know because you haven't not mentioned it to my knowledge is California two state legislators introduced the bill its assembly bill 665 it should have been number 666 and it allows school officials allows a psychologist a Social worker and even just interns in those professions to take a child Instead of sending them home from school to send them to a group home Where a shelter home where they could then be put on track for transgender medical treatments they claim It's only well they claim is for psychological counseling purposes and additional services and the additional services They're not limited to prevent the child being put on a transgender conversion track. Yeah, I spoke yesterday at length about I don't remember is a b6 something so it might have well been this Basically as I understand it You will be able to you you will be The state will be able to take your child Away from you in a custody battle if you are the parent who does not want your child of 11 or 8 or 12 to transition If you say my darling daughter you're a girl you can lose your child in A custody dispute because this has to be taken into account They will make it easier to remove children from homes on this basis Well, I would not characterize them as dr. Mengele's I do characterize them.

"Take make it quick. Lots John is out there trying to trick lost Johnny by Mick farron. Thank you for that numero. Yeah, no kidding. That work compilation is fantastic and it's great to have that stuff. And it's got the feelies on it. Yeah. Nothing bad about that one. And nothing bad about the silk Johnson box said they put out Rex circa 2010, I believe it was. It was called complete mythology, which is a very appropriate name for sil Johnson box at four CDs, 6 LPs, basically documenting his period when he was a Chicago based artist. If people know sil Johnson at all, it's because of the hits that he recorded with Willie Mitchell in Memphis, Al Green studio. And he did a cover of greens take me to the river that actually charted and did pretty well. That was the biggest hit of sil's career. But his work in Chicago, it's just criminal how underrated it is. And numero did him a proper by just putting out this stuff in its complete mythological wonder. Here is the entire career of Phil Johnson, yes. Guys driving a truck and all of a sudden, you know, his songs start appearing on the radio here and there. You know, turns this into a full-time gig. His records in the 70s in the 60s and 70s, early 70s, touched on all sorts of art forms. I mean, he was a quadruple threat, singer, musician, songwriter, producer. Soul and funk blues pleading ballads, a hint of protest music. He was ahead of some trends, piggybacked on some others, but there was really no style of music that he couldn't do something. Well, and as the numerator boys indicated quite a character. Amazing character. You know, he was so proud to tell me that Wu Tang clan sampled 9 of his songs on one of their albums. And he got a paycheck for each one of them. So still did very well for himself. You know, the connoisseurs of that kind of music really knew the good stuff and still had it on his recordings. That's why it took on another life in the hip hop generation. But I want to focus on one of the albums that was included in that massive box set. Is it because I'm black? 1970 album. Some people have called it the first black concept album. It was released a year before Marvin Gaye's what's going on. But it was very much in the vein of a lot of that music, which was talking about the black experience in America, posted the assassination of MLK. And he devoted an entire album to it. And here's a track from it called concrete reservation by sil Johnson. Situation all this principle is just the concrete Pennsylvania here in the air city falling into all the rest of the concrete information. That is concrete reservation from the great numeral box that complete mythology, get it. It is one of the gems in the one of numerous gems in the numeral catalog. Oh, it absolutely is Craig. And so is the next one I'm going to highlight. Purple snow. Forecasting the Minneapolis sound. Prince didn't come out of nowhere. He didn't land in a UFO in good old uptown Minneapolis, or chaska, Minnesota, the suburb where he wind up opening Paisley park. Talk about something no other label would dive deep into. Four LPs again on vinyl, double compact disc. This is a set that looks at. All of the funk soul independent long forgotten bands that are happening in Minneapolis, which was a fertile music scene even before on the indie punk end, we had the replacements and husker du or, of course. Prince, you know, bringing Minneapolis and that sound, the Minneapolis sound, to the world, both with his own music and the bands he produced. So 94 east was a fairly traditional funk R&B band came together in 1975 around somebody called Pepe Willie. The former husband of prince's cousin. Minneapolis is a big small town. You have to remember that. And at one point, they say to this talented kid, prince Rogers Nelson, hey, I mean, you can play with us, right? And he brings along his childhood best friend. Andre Simone, who'd go on to be big part of the Minneapolis sound as well. So they're both like late teens, right? When they're playing with 94 east, dance music soul funk, you can kind of hear the roots of what would come later with the time and of course the revolution. Not quite there yet, not the greatest thing in the world, but certainly for prince complete this entire box set and the artists that it highlights, you know, you gotta have it, right? Interstate 94 significant for two reasons when they built the highway. They tore through a black community in Minneapolis known as rondo, right? Just bulldoze it much as we did parts of the south and west side here in Chicago. And also I will always have a special place in my heart for 94 because when melody was born, I was living in Minneapolis. I remember I lived in Minneapolis twice. Two different times for two years. Bringing my newborn daughter home in the baby carrier. And you know, Minneapolis is nasty cold and windy. And we lived right across from an empty lot on the other side of which was 94. And the wind whipped her baby blanket right off her as I'm trying to get her into the house. Yeah. So I always think of that. And Minneapolis, and I love this song. If you see me by 94 east featuring a very young and hard to even pick out prince, but he's on there, I promise you. But I'm doing better for my own so if you see me walk on my girl don't say nothing or don't mind girl do yourself a favor yeah yeah and what don't buy a girl don't say nothing. 94 east if you see me. You can kind of hear what's gonna come. Yeah. It was in the air already. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's cool. Something in Minneapolis, man. That's what I love about numero is

Yeah, and our opponents said it's emboldening the enemies of civilization and he laid it out there and we're no longer a friend that can be relied upon because of Joe Biden. Nigel Farage, Nigel Nigel Farage. What? The Brexit guy in great Britain, Adding to what Tony Blair had to say, What do you think about it? You know, Biden came to the T seven here in the UK America is back. And they also know isn't it marvelous? We've got rid of that nasty Mr Trump. We've got Biden. It's all going to be great. Actually, what Biden has done. He's taking America back to total isolationism because not only Has he offended us? The British and we do have a very special relationship. He's called the whole future of NATO into doubt. Nobody. I mean, honestly, nobody could trust the Americans right now in terms of getting involved in any military engagements, because clearly he's not a man of his word. He made promises at the G seven that he broke. The unilateral withdrawal from Afghanistan. And so America is isolated and friendless, Isolated and friendless. That is a fact, Jack. Absolutely remarkable stuff here, Um You know, there are so many amazing stories every day that the Democrats give us and they're also terrible. But remember, they said that President Trump was dismantling NATO by making them pay more into the common defense. Was the opposite of the truth. Not what they're telling you about. Joe Biden is for the most part the opposite of the truth. Now come alive. The left wing set up a bail fund and Kamala Harris, who was then a senator advocated that people give to this bail fund to this radical left wing bail fund. And sure enough people did. And the bail fund bailed a bunch of people out rioters and looters and arsonists and they bailed out a domestic violence. Perpetrator, okay? Um, and this domestic violence perpetrator that was bailed out by the camera. Harris approved bail fund was later arrested for murder. They bailed out a domestic abuser who was beating the wife and freedom had nothing to do with riots. But this radical left wing group that Camilla Harris advocated for Bales Fund, one back once backed by Vice President Kamala Harris helped free an alleged domestic abuser who is now accused of murder. But Howard had been bailed out on $11,500 bond by the organization that that Kamala Harris was advocating for the Minnesota Freedom Fund. The Minnesota Freedom Fund. And.

John Gibson was the CEO of Trip wire interactive studio behind some very popular video games. He's not anymore because he dared voice his opinion on Twitter, and he got canceled a man with no power to do anything about the issue that he was tweeting about. Doesn't matter. In the meantime, our VP And the bail fund, once backed by Vice President Kamala Harris, helped free and alleged domestic abuser who's now accused of murder Right here in Minnesota. George Howard 48 years old allegedly became involved in a road rage altercation on Interstate 94 an entrance ramp before he shot another driver, according to Minneapolis police. This was weeks. After he was bailed out on domestic assault charges. Surveillance video recorded the moments when the driver of a blue BMW confronted Howard, who was driving a white Volvo, the victim can be seen punching Howard then collapsing. The victim, later identified as Luis Damian Martinez Ortiz, 38 years old, got back into his own car, then drove into the median. He was pronounced dead at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. Howard had been out on $11,500 bond in connection with the domestic salt, a case since August six, according to court records. That's when the Minnesota Freedom fun bailed him out. And if you're not familiar with the Minnesota Freedom, fun to just scroll through Kamala Harris's Twitter feed because she has more than one occasion tweeted out that you should support them and you should give them money. And basically with the Minnesota Freedom Fund does is they just bail people out without any real thought as to who they're bailing out or why they were arrested or what they're in there for and this is not the first incident. Where somebody who was bailed out by the Minnesota Freedom Fund went on to hurt somebody. They're agents of chaos. It's the bottom line. They are agents of chaos they want. They don't care that this happens and there's a there's a portion of the individuals that support these types of organizations that maybe won't dare speak it. But I firmly believe want it to happen. They want this chaos. They want to. So this discord. The Freedom Fund ostensibly will tell you that they are opposed to cash bail like they Think this is like it's over. It's wrong system. And this is their way of fighting against that system. And no, that is not. This is not the way to fight against the concept in the existence of a cash bail system, right, you go, and you do that legislatively. What you're doing here is exactly what John said. You are fomenting chaos, and they know this. They know that dangerous and violent people are being bailed out with the money that they have. They know this and they and they Don't care. There's a level of grotesque arrogance that is attached to this. Minnesota Freedom Fund did tweet that on Friday that they admitted to their role in putting Howard back on the streets. Okay, Then they went and wrote, We are aware of reports of the tragic and fatal shooting in Minneapolis earlier this week involving George Howard, an individual. The Minnesota Freedom funded previously provided bail support. The Mff believes that every individual who has been arrested by law enforcement is innocent until proven guilty, and if a judge Dean's them eligible for bail, they should not have to wait in jail simply because they don't have the same income or access to resources as others, and that's fine that you think that There's nothing wrong with thinking that there's nothing wrong with having that stance, right. But if you want to fix that, you do it legislatively. You do it by changing the law. You don't do it by bailing out violent criminals with no regard whatsoever for the consequences of your actions. The group said it was monitoring the case and reviewing its policies. Mm hmm. Harris had promoted the bail group during the 2020 campaign urging Twitter followers to donate to the group in June of that year. A spokesperson for the vice president, of course, declined to comment on Tuesday, and she wasn't alone. I mean, you had your entire brigade of blue.

"Believe that the office of the District attorney's office somehow believes that as we roll in the 2021 that all of a sudden we're the country is legally blind or something. We think that the 22nd video is very clear. We don't need a two hour explanation for what our eyes can see. We're immensely disappointed with that. It takes 20 seconds to watch that video to find probable cause, and it took them over four months to find the reason. So ignore it. Now, as you remember a couple of days after the shooting, there were protests and violence. In Kenosha Car written house was one of the people the young Illinois teenager charged with killing two people in the protest and the violence after the initial shooting of Jacob Lake While he was in court today, pleading not guilty to the charges against him. His attorney, John Pierce, talked with WGN's John Williams. I think a problem that a lot of people have with this story is Well, your client may have been acting in self defense. When he shot those people. He would not have been in that position. If he had gone up. There is some sort of teenage vigilante. But not just stop you right there. He's not a teenage vigilante. He's he's a lifeguard. He's a great kid who went there to Queen Graffiti Metal business owner who desperately needed help protecting his business. Yeah, he went. There s Oh, yeah, He's a teenager vigilante. He wasn't there to clean. No, it wasn't up there to clean graffiti, and he wasn't There is a life or he wasn't saying he wasn't up. There is a lifeguard there, but he's a lifeguard doesn't have anything to do with money. He was queen Graffiti. And if you wanted to fame and then you can either attractive right now, or we can send your attraction later. But this kid is totally innocent. He is not a vigilante. He he went there to protect businesses. And to provide medical aid to protesters if the mayor and governor had done their basic fundamental duty to provide law and order. And not another city to burn down Then this would have happened if I were to go live to commotion. Just a couple of minutes, But little vaccine talk. First, Mayor Lightfoot was asked if teachers should be moved to the front of the line to be vaccinated. Well, we're very interested in making sure that teachers are in the queue in the next round again. We've got to finish the work with our health care workers. I think that's that is most important. You know, One of the reasons I haven't taken a vaccine is I don't think it's appropriate for me to jump the line ahead of these workers who are on the front lines, but absolutely we want to make sure that teachers are in the queue for the next round. But I'll say it again. We have got to get more vaccine. And Ashley Banfield is joining next. Our media group is the host of a new talk show News and talk show on WGN America. She also talked to John Williams today, There's a lot of personality driven talk shows on news stations, MSNBC, CNN, Fox and then there's news programming. But who's doing a Tom Snyder, Larry King, Sit down, interviewed. I can't think of anybody right now. Well, you know, James Lipton used to do this, and it was so engaging Charlie Rose's interviews were so engaging Larry King was So engaging and I was a develop a of those programs. And now if you canvass the news landscape in prime time, there's a lot of yelling and a lot of attitude and a lot of bias and a lot of personality. Like you said, Yes, that's entertaining, but at some point I think we're all getting tired. Of being lectured about how we should think, and quite frankly, the mandated WGN news nation to go straight down that center lane and recapture the unbiased presentation. Of fact news and many opinions is just so incredibly refreshing. And you know, I've been at this game for 33 years and I had seen the morphing into Echo chamber media and I think that this is a time especially in this transition that we're going through in Washington, where I think people really do want to just take a deep breath and And here many, many different viewpoints in a story not just one. Actually, Banfield joining the family the next our family talking to John Williams earlier today. Now the part of the family is Shawn Lewis, who has been spending the day perhaps the night as well up in Kenosha. He joins us Now. Sean is the news conference from prosecutors in Kenosha County over Yeah, I just wrapped up Steve about 5 10 minutes ago or so. What's interesting here, though, is that this press conference was not held downtown not held where we saw all of that civil unrest polluting the writing. In the wake of the shooting of Jacob Lake in August. This was actually held out by interstate 94 at what effectively is the broad stop. If anyone is aware of the institution that's in Kenosha, right off of Highway 59 94 in Kenosha held away from this downtown area, where they perhaps Not that there would be protests and and other issues that they did not want to deal with. So they held it away from the downtown area, and it's interesting when you're listening to this press conference, Steve You and I have covered court cases before and anyone who has sat in during a jury trial or even a bench trial, for that matter, you know that it's not the way it plays out on TV. It's very It's very methodical, The way that an attorney lay something out. That's exactly what we heard today from this press conference with Kenosha District attorney Michael gravely. It wasn't this is my decision, and that bit it was laying out step by step. Why his decision was the way itwas not to charge. These police officers involved in the shooting of Jacob Lake in anyway and also adding onto their that there will be no charges pressed against Jacob Blake himself, Eh? So you had this feeling of almost he was this this district attorney who said he was not going to be going to trial..
