Remember that Barlow was charged with multiple counts of by an automobile homicide after registering of blood alcohol level of almost three times the, uh, legal limit. Cutler Cotler. Excuse me, It's Kotler. Was also a writer, having created the popular cheesy Mac book series. Aimed at middle school readers. Charles, who service dog Michelle was also killed in the accident was a cartoonist who Miss Quinn wrote, had just completed a graphic novel that was to be dedicated To their father. Now. I mean, I'm not really familiar with the Bridger Dayton. Oh, I've heard the name but well, it's a Netflix series now, but it was. It was a series of books before that. And I don't think I'd be admitting this. If I were Tiffany had ish. She says that First orgasm. Came as a result, she well, she credits Nicolas Cage with what? Huh? Nick Nick Cage. I'm kind of curious, though, or How this how watching this It was exciting for her some and that somehow triggered Mm. I don't get it. I just hope that this doesn't affect our friendship. He has a really good imagination, I guess. Uh, let's see the delta variant of, uh, The coronavirus advisor, a Pfizer, the drug company, who developed pretty much the first vaccine. Uh along then, Moderna also But Pfizer says they're going to. They're looking at booster shots. So if you have a couple of Pfizer, you have the two fighter vaccines. Uh, they're going to come up with a booster shot. That you should get now That's the But however uh, the FDA said, Well, we don't think so necessary to slow down. Um, I don't know. I kind of him on Pfizer side with this. If they they're the they're the ones working with the vaccines in the lab. Uh, I'll take one there and they're working. I'm sure they have the delta variant in little Petri dishes because I didn't find her. Do you advise? Yeah, I'm a fighter. We're all a fighter in the south, so I don't know. I kind of would trust. Pfizer with this with this, I think I think the FDA is not saying this is a bad idea. They're saying it's not necessary. No, they're just saying, Let's let's wait a little bit, and there are other reasons for that. It's not that it's not. I think we probably will end up meeting Well, then why shouldn't we wait a bit? Well, they should They want they? They're more worried about getting more people vaccinated for the first time. Then then us going back for number three. I've given up on those people. I want my boosters. I couldn't occur. Yeah, Officials return to 12. Utah counties back to high transmission status Thursday as the state reported 668 new cases. That's an other communicable disease, but it's what I said. It's and as soon as the FDA does their final approval of the vaccine them they can cause it's kind of it's got emergency approval now. Ah, Long long winter is ahead. Um, coronavirus case numbers are exploding across the country at the beginning of what shaping up to be a difficult winter. Unfortunately, we are entering what I think will be the worst stretch that we have experienced so far, says Caitlin Rivers. An epidemiologist at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. We're seeing hot spots all across the country, new highs for the number of cases and hospitalizations. Utah's Cove ID numbers are not good. The hospitalizations are up. Intermountain Healthcare is talking about, uh, again, cutting back on Surgeries that are not just absolutely necessary. And that could mean anything from elective surgeries to things like, Well, sure that's bugging you, and you're in a lot of pain. But you could put up with it for a while. "Center President elect Joe Biden, really breaking the record for most votes ever received by a presidential candidate. As of today, it's over 77,000,005 million more than President Trump, who still is not conceding the race Biting, already telling world leaders that America is back, speaking to several so far over the phone this week, and the Republican commissioner of Philadelphia says that presidential election was the most transparent and secure in that city's history. That's Al Schmitz message to those spreading false voter fraud claims. He confirmed. Officials are now canvassing their unofficial vote total to make sure everything remains in order. Utah is among the hardest hit states. I mean, this latest wave of covert 19 Dr Todd Vento is with the Intermountain Healthcare's group in Salt Lake City. And spoke with a B C's Robin Roberts. I understand that in your area right now that you're saying that you are at a breaking point. Can you tell us what you're seeing firsthand, Doctor? Nearly so we're actually are hovering around mid 200 to 300 cases in August than after September. School's came back and changing some behaviors We actually saw steady increased to the point where we're now an exponential face. He pushed 3000 cases 2900 over 2500 cases a day over a seven day rolling average, and as a result, we actually see subsequent, increasing our numbers of hospitalizations to the point where some of our hustles have actually been asked and over capacity that times in the past few weeks, so it's putting in immense strain and stress. Our healthcare systems are your workers. What you said there about being at capacity. Many hospitals, not just you. They're in Utah are near or capacity. What exactly does that mean? When it comes to patient care? Well, you know, in the concept of that capacity also just talks about the bed numbers. It doesn't talk about. You know what that stream puts on individuals who are doing extra shifts. Working past their ships and things like that, But it also means that we can't At some point we get to the point where we're not delivering care for the same quality or same standard that we could be. We had a very low key fatality rate or ratio, the death rate in Utah in particular, and that's great. But as we get more cases, we can provide the same level care therefore what you can expect to see in other cities early in the epidemic. That the case of valuation will go higher. The patients will have more severe illnesses, and that's what we're very concerned about. And rightfully so in Utah's governor has just issued a statewide mass mandate and also some other issues, including a two week ban on social gatherings, increased testing. Do you believe that these measures will be enough to flatten the curve? Doctor Bento. I certainly hope so. And time will tell. We'll be looking at that very closely. We work very closely with the Governor's office on Task Force, etcetera. I think going to the universal mass mandate is important for another reason. I think you just let off to see that the CDC has now stated that it not just protect you as a patient and protect others, So we have Clear data that mask work. And so our governor decided that will make the universal master date instead of chasing the transmission rates and changing the mass mandate based off of that system, it that's really important, but I think Seeing that are spread in our community has come from social gatherings in particular may be extended family, etcetera. That's where we're targeting. This pauses, social gatherings, extracurricular activity, hoping that that will make a dent in that that part of the epidemic that's causing the increases search, But I do believe that It remains very well may have to go to stricter measures if we don't see that decreasing cases very soon. That's Dr Todd Vento from the Intermountain Healthcare Group in Salt Lake City. Speaking with a B C's Robin Roberts A record setting $18 million penalty against national grocery industry Group has been upheld by a court ruling. The ruling happening here in Washington hears Como's Bill O'Neill. It all goes back to 2013 during a battle over a food labeling initiative on GMO products sold in the state voters narrowly defeated the measure. Before reviewing some of the recent studies. I would have said maybe 10% have evidence of heart damage, but I think we're going to elevate that estimate in the short term. Maybe my guess is Tau 30 to 50%, said Dr Colton. Director of cardiovascular research, Intermountain Healthcare and chairman of Intermountain Medical Centers, Cardiovascular department and Long term. I hope it's much less than that. I hope it's back into the single digit percent But we don't really know Even we don't know yet People can recover from viruses. That's that's something we've learned even heart damage can recover from viral infection. And and that's the thing you know is the way we know about these things. Why aren't we doing anything about? Well, It's expensive. Well, let's find the money. The 2020 Democratic National Convention.
