Bill Weld launches GOP primary bid against Trump
"Lead the former two-term Republican governor of Massachusetts Bill weld is here with me live in studio. And Mr. weld has something to announce governor jacomb announcing that I'm running for president of the United States as a Republican against President Trump in twenty twenty. So you're hoping to take him on in the primaries in the primary. So I I really think if we have six more years of the same stuff we've had out of the White House the last two years that would be a political tragedy, and I would fear for the Republic. So I would be ashamed of myself. If I didn't raise my hand and run so his Rian President Trump's reelection campaign just announced that they've raised thirty million dollars in the first quarter. The Republican party is has been reshaped to meet President Trump's desires, he has the support within the party nearly ninety percent. Do you really think you can defeat him? I do I've done it before. And particularly in New Hampshire where I'm spending a lot of time. It's one. One vote at a time and one voter at a time, and you got to meet him. But you know, what we have now is the president who mocks the rule of law. I spent seven years in the Justice department, try to keep the politics out of law enforcement. He's trying to put it in a president. Who says we don't need a free press who says the climate change is a complete hoax. He's not paying attention. I doubt very much. He's made a study of any of those issues, but he seems to have difficulty in my opinion. And I was a prosecutor for quite a while. He has difficulty conforming his conduct to the requirements of law. That's a that's a serious matter in the Oval Office. So just in in terms of your political strategy, you want to spend a lot of time in New Hampshire. And that's the New Hampshire is a state where their independence can vote their primary crossover primary New Hampshire really all six New England states, the mid Atlantic states, California, Oregon, Washington, very receptive territory. The president's not well liked in California, the inter mountain west where I spent a lot of time in the last. Cycle. No one. It'd be a national national campaign. The twenty states do permit that crossover voting which is more than a beachhead. So I'm very much looking forward to the campaign. Anyone wants to be helpful well, twenty twenty dot org. Well, twenty twenty or the Muller report you talked about youth served in the Justice department. You know, Bob Mueller was my deputy in the Justice department. He's the straightest guy I've ever met wonderful human being very thorough. Very great prosecutor. So how how much do you think of his report that we're told is going to be released to the public into congress Thursday morning? How much do you think can be redacted and still be a credible presentation to congress in the phone piece of cake? Oh, you really have to do is redact the classified information and needlessly derogatory personal material. But that's that's not a great labor. I mean, I think the whole report should be made public. So so that everybody can see not just a two committees of congress, but the American public. Can see they've paid for it. The president says he's been exonerated on these allegations of conspiracy with Russia, and that you can't obstruct a crime that hasn't took taken place, which obviously the attorney general Bill bar agrees with to a degree. We know Democrats in the House Judiciary committee and elsewhere are going to keep investigating. What's your take on the obstruction of Justice charge and the president's claim that he's been exonerated? No. I'm not I'm not really buying that. And if I were the president United States, and I've been found not guilty of one of twenty charges that could have been levied against me. I'm not sure I'd be holding a press conference to celebrate that what what do you make of the obstruction charge in the Miller report? You know, I don't I don't think the juries come back on that one. But there's plenty of other potential witness tampering, obstruction, possibilities arising out of all the Manafort and Michael Cohen material that has nothing to do with the Muller report. Let me give you the criticism that I think you're gonna face. You are a Republican from a different era in American history. You are a moderate Republican you were the Massachusetts Governor you're able to work with Democrats represented precisely country club. Oh, no, no, no Republican who works across the aisle and gets things done. I was reelected with seventy one percent of the vote because I brought everybody in. I would have a bipartisan cabinet if I get to sixteen hundred Pennsylvania Avenue, and you know, I'm an economic conservative. I was voted the most confiscatory conservative governor in the United States by the Wall Street Journal and the Cato Institute, I cut spending year over Donald Trump is not an economic conservative. He doesn't even pretend to be. And you know, it's the country deserves to have some fiscal restraint and conservatism and cutting spending in Washington DC right now all the really is coming out of Washington is divisiveness in both parties are responsible for that. But the grand the grand of that is the president himself. I never seen such bitterness in this country. If you don't win the nomination are you going to run as an independent? No, no, I don't think. So, but I could not support Donald Trump for president. I'm not saying. I would never endorse a democrat in this race. But I I could

"Of jams and jellies right now, he's Wayne park, and he's the owner of pioneer market in Utah, and he's going to be bringing all sorts of jams jellies. And I think it would be interesting Wayne for you to tell people exactly the entire process of how that fruit gets to you for processing and how you get to Sacramento. That is a very interesting question. Thank you for asking. I work with a variety different growers to the inter mountain west my goal is to get world class. Fruit, and they get it. Absolutely. Right. As possible. Most of my tree, I I work with growers specifically in Utah, some an Idaho. Most of my berries are coming out of Oregon ideas, get oranges from Ventura, California, which are die. Get some really nice oranges down there. My goal is to get the absolute riper sweeter. Flavorful fruit that I can possibly get that way. We get jam that you can possibly get anywhere. Tell us a little bit more about the fruits that you're choosing from that are grown. They're in the inter mountain west, let me give you an idea on our peaches are teachers, I'm very very choosy on the pieces that I grow. There's only two growers that I work with on my peaches, I work with the growers literally years in advance. Will work with them in the fall on you know, what kind of minerals are adding to the soil of minerals cheeser taking up and what form the mineral Howard? How are they taking care of our day crowned variety? We'll go up there in the winter in the flow and look over the trees, make sure everything's okay. Starting in the spring. We'll look at how their budding how they're budding out what the weather's like what kind of moisture they're getting. And then in the summer is thinks that ripening out to the orchards and say, okay, y'all take mystery. I'll take him the west side of that tree. The south side of this tree. Our contract was the growers for the fruit while it's still on the tree because I want that fruit to be the ripest possible. It can be I wanna falling off the tree right which makes for grad dealers jam, but it would be impossible for a ever to put that on a store shelf because has no shelf life. It'll be riding in a day. Well, that's quite the process then of getting of tree ripened fruit to you for processing. And it has to be done in in in fairly short amount of time. Does the trees re dictate what I schedule is going to be. When a tree say the fruits ready. We're ready. They're not going to. Oh. Now the. Today coming yet. So we have to work very closely with the growers. My schedule harvest time has to be very flexible. When fruit is ready. It's ready. We go and pick it up processes that very same day. Pizzas will take the skins off will pay good pets out will grind them into a puree puree in the freezer, and then we'll make fresh jam throughout the year. And how long does that process? Take many many hours. The fruit has to be blanched dropping into boiling water for just a moment to loosen up the skin to skin pits out run it through a grinder. Put it in buckets put it in her will bring in a couple tons of teachers. Take a few days. It's gonna be fresh..

"Weather data or climatological data, whatever the case may be, but then taking it breaking it down into digestible chunks for a judge URI, and whether it's a judge Orangerie, they aren't many of them aren't whether geeks, although you will get a few jurors that will be and which is great. But they are used to seeing things like next read and and satellite imagery. So they expect see that they don't want you to just hold up paper charts. You have to have full animations and graphics, animations and graphics have to be accurate scientifically. And then I have to be able to or. One who ever is the one testifying half to be able to tell the jury, what, what they're seeing an explain it to him in in a way that they can understand it. You've in. I think the term for Renzo sort of anchored in the legal jargon if you will, but are there other ways or other applications of what you do beyond toward the legal field if you will? Yes, you know a lot of times it'll be just with claims for hailstorms or let's say three hundred houses or claiming hail damage. Well, they'll need to determine, well, do all three hundred really require a new roof or not. And so it won't go to litigation, but the insurance company will contact a forensic meteorologist to look at what happened. You know, it's interesting his here in the Atlanta area few months ago. We had a really bad hailstorm here. In fact, I got some video of my my wife and I driving home from dinner and golf ball, and Pete size hail pounding our car. In the next day, there were these hail companies are these roofing companies in our neighborhood just like that. I mean, so. You know, I was telling my wife, I said there has to be some kind of meteorological service or consulting euro that provides these spokes with sort of the HALE swath because it's really narrow area, but they seem to be right in it in my right in there are you are you are and now people are onto it a little bit more. So now people really watch these things and yes, so they'll send people out immediately. What from your experience is there particular country part of the country that deals with these order? HALE claims Moore imagining is out in the sort of inter mountain region or the western region it actually, we've had them all across the United States, but really the inter mountain west, but we've had plenty of them in the southeast. We've we've seen quite a bit of that as well. One of the things I wanted to sort of ask you about is, is there a month that hurts or helps more when looking for clues when you're talking about you're dealing with some of the cases is there's some type of year that sort of more optimal? No Asli. No it because it just depends upon. On the weather, you know? No, it doesn't. Curious about that because in some some aspects of our feel there is a season -ality to to whether you seeing more fog cases and interstate pile ups or versus rank as as we're taping this, we're coming out of hurricane Florence, which is one of the more devastating naturals and that we've seen in recent decade. Would there be any reasons why someone in that does what you do would be called into to service after something like a Florence or Harvey definite? Definitely. We actually at whether extreme have to hurricane experts just because I am not a hurricane expert, and that's another thing about the field is one does need to focus in their area of specialty. And so this will bring a lot of business to forensic meteorologists around the country in the world. And that's another thing is a lot of the cases that I work are not in the United States. They do global, definitely. Yes. And so that's why when you ask. Is there a season -ality to it really globally there, there's not. Depending on where you are in the nets. Right..

"At my mid twenties living in the inter mountain region here for the summer. I met this wonderful guy here via like, and I really connect with. Let's just say he's coming on very strong after only one week mind you. We have hung out a lot during that week. He is basically offered to shift his entire life. I, he moved to wherever I go after this program ends in order to be with me. I was wondering if you could speak to this behavior of moving extremely fast. Everything he says, seems to be very truthful, poignant and from the heart, he's not shy about saying how attracted is to me. And yet his relentless gushing honesty, almost the point of worshipping me feels like it's pushing me away emotionally and physically we still haven't even taken off our pants and I'm generally very horny guy. Can this be rectified? Visit even need rectify. Buying and I'm just scared of being vulnerable. I feel weird about criticizing the way he expresses themselves. So openly, I just know I don't have these similar shape shifting feelings after just one week, and I don't want to lead him on actually know people who did exactly what this guy is saying. He would like to do who moved across country after knowing someone per very short amount of time. And it worked out and they're still together and they're very happy. However, this kind of coming onto strong. This kind of premature motions. Commitment or attachment is also frequently the sign of something unhealthy or even potentially abusive at the very least if this guy moves across country to be with you, it may create and use some feeling of obligation that you have to take care of this guy that you have to be with this guy because he turned his whole life upside down for you whether you wanted him to or not. And suddenly you have this burden to come through for him to love him. The way he loves you. You which sounds a little Mnaya call sounds a little bit like even if these feelings are genuine and he's not just trying to manipulate you. It sounds like a colossal display on his part of bad judgment, which is something we talk about on my show live. We look for in partners, good judgment. And to tell someone after just a few days together without ever having taken your pants off that you love them enough to turn your life upside down to move across the country to be with them is a display of bad judgment because that will spook most people. Most people that you roll that out for are going to run the fuck away and peace should know that. And apparently he doesn't know about and he doesn't know that because he has piss poor fucking judgment. You need to push back. You need to tell him that he's freaking you out that he's spooking you that you like him. You've liked him enough to spend this week together with him, hanging out platonic -ly for the most part. But you don't really know him and he doesn't really know you for all. He knows you have a collection of dead boy scouts under your bed for all, you know, he has the same. And so if you want to continue to see each other, it will be long distance. Maybe you guys can meet up again a couple of times. You can continue to talk Skype text with each other and get to know each other better. There's lots of examples out there in the world, particularly this connected world. Now with the internet where people did move across the country to be with someone that they met online and it's worked out in their grateful and glad that they did. Usually it's not an impulse purchase though. Usually you take your time, you do your due diligence. Dating is a discovery process..

"The basics so what can we control we control access quality and keep our cost is absolutely lo was possible and so that's we have our team is absolutely entirely focused on the patient a meeting this fundamentals dr mark harrison is the ceo of inter mountain healthcare in utah bucket her thank your time to privilege thank you and our national political correspondent mara liasson is listening to that conversation i mara high so let's talk about the reality on capitol hill and in washington he sounds fairly optimistic that maybe this deal could go through but we've seen republican healthcare measure measure fail recently what where could this they will be going well based on our experience i don't think anybody should bet a whole lot of money on this a bipartisan deal being passed by congress they're already has been pushed back from conservative republicans especially in the house saying they've been voting for seven years to repeal and where place obamacare and this would not repeal it this would stabilise it and continue it for about two years so there has already been pushback from this even though the president as you played earlier gave it a tentative endorsement of i think it's it's going to be tough for this to pass congress and what do you make of what we're hearing from the president i mean he's been adamant about wanting to repeal obama care now he seems as you said to be tentatively supporting this measure which in effect which sure it out makes sense that for us if the fallout it's heart no i can't make sense of it because the other day when he said that he was going to discontinue the subsidies he called the bailouts to insurance companies he he said that they were a really bad idea i now he says that he if he's okay with having these subsidies continue temporarily for two years i in which time he says that the votes would be collected for the longterm permanent solution which would be to block rant obamacare to resurrect the grim cassidy bill that failed i in the senate so i can't really make sense of it except for maybe he doesn't want to be blamed for the chaos and collapse of the exchanges and pierre national political correspondent mara life amara thanks thank you now we report on the downside of bidding war for amazon many things it's many cities are competing to be the chosen one the site for a.
