"Teams in the league over the last 5 years have established some sort of team identity. And for the last two seasons, at least the fever is that and I don't want to put this on Stanley. I don't think the team had an identity under poke Chapman either. You know my feelings on coach Chapman, they're already, but for like a season or two, they're identity has been we don't play our rookies and we are the team that drafted Kaiser Kendrick for some reason. And we have Stranger Things jerseys. But we have nothing to say about what it was like to watch them play basketball. There was just nothing that defined that dean. And I'm excited to see Lin Dunn go out and find somebody that's going to infuse a team. They have talent now, and they obviously have more youth than anybody in the league. And I'm very, you know, we're both Emily inkster fans. We're both destiny Anderson fans. I think we're both queen egbo fans. Like, I'm a big time believer in that being kind of a steal of the draft. And then obviously Melissa's been out injured. She's an absolute, she's going to be in the league for a long time. They've got tons of talent. And they're probably going to lose a bunch of games this year. It never helps the team to lose a coach 9 games into the season. They're going to be a little bit rudderless for a little while. Maybe they'll catch some teams on and off night still get some wins. But if you think about the list of things you need to do to completely reset a team, they've now they've got the bingo, right? 5 graph picks, new coach, new direction, new everything. I mean, they've kind of fully washed their hands of the last 5 years of fever basketball, which they desperately needed to do. And I realized that it's going to be hard to watch a team try to build itself out of the basement of the league, but at least that's what the trajectory is now. Before they were just stale and we would come into every season kind of joking, I don't know, maybe they'll make a free agency move, but probably not. And I'm just, I don't know, that's where I'm wearing the hat today. I'm excited for the fever's future. I'm excited for their present. I try to watch every fever game now that I can because I think a lot of their players are really exciting to watch. And I'm just happy, I'm happy that done recognizes the need to change something. There's so often coaches just try to say like, oh, well, we drafted a bunch of new players and they're going to give us everything we need to be a different organization and it's like, no, you got to start in the front office. You got to start in the locker room. You got to start on the sideline. I'm excited to see who they go out and get. That obviously it's not about who you fire. It's most of the time it's who you hire, but I think that's a good job right now. No, that's the next thing I want to dive into is obviously the basis of this decision will always be capitalized on, well, who are you going to pick up? If the replacement makes sense, then yeah, you make those moves. And I think there have been a lot of different mentality with coaching changes over the last couple of seasons, especially this last off season where you've seen people go for names, go for splashes. And to their credit, some of those teams have seen, I mean, the aces. Becky Hammond look like what you would really want the aces to look like under Becky Hammond. The liberty under coach brendel, not quite clicking from what we can tell, but we'll see. There's still more basketball to be played. And then you've seen a lot of the homegrown talent discussion Noel Quinn in Seattle is a good example of that, you have people who've worked their way up on the assistant positions with an S and a card in Phoenix. And, you know, you really don't know exactly, you know, for instance, if the decision with Carlos Knox, I mean, we'll just have to see how he pulls here. I'm not sure what his pedigree is as a coach. His I know he's an assistant. For a minute. So I actually just looked this up. He was an assistant with the fever, 2014, 2016, and his role was internal development. He is their guy who's here our player development guy. Which makes a lot of sense. They just rehired him back in December, and now in February, Lin Dunn came in and in May, they're giving him the reins, at least for the rest of the season. He does a lot of sense. He does have some of my favorite. I mean, I know as a player, he's possibly the most well-known player to come out of IP PY, like he actually was a pretty big name at the time in the 90s. I had a lot of, I think he might still hold some scoring records over there. So he was an assistant there for a minute, and that seemed to run. But man, I have to say one thing about Carlos Knoxville move on to other potential hires. Some of my absolute favorite teams in terms of names only is on this dude's pedigree. This man was the assistant and interim head coach of the Indiana alley cats, the Pittsburgh explosion with an ex no E, the London lightning, the Dayton jets, this guy, this guy knows how to pick them. So, you know, we've talked about how the fever maybe could stand for a rebrand and a cool name. Maybe he has that pedigree. And for that reason alone, I think he'd be the right fit. You know, if he came in and said, my pick has always been because of race in the Indiana rush. But that sounds a little bit like an arena football team, but I don't know. Anyway, I always get into talking branding, but Knox is definitely an interesting choice as far as that's considered, but as we jump into this, I mean, I opened up a lot of things and a lot of thoughts. But do you, just from your end? And who knows when this my assumption is they roll out the season with coach Knox and then they'll move more into making a formal decision as time goes. Do you have immediate thoughts? You know, if you're Lin Dunn, do you have a short list of names already in mind? I think I know one name you might immediately jump to..

"Year's draft, which is great for them. Actually fantastic for them. Yeah, considering who might be available. What a joy to watch. I guess we Henderson is probably going to move some merch this season. I would maybe get a Henderson Jersey if I had any indication that Indiana won't cut her in the off season or something crazy, but yeah, I wanted to give the fever shout out even though they started ode two, they are fun to watch and inkster got in the game did her thing. Anybody who paid attention to this last final four or really just this last college season in general is going to really like this fever season for years to come. If it stays together as presently constituted. These big absolutely. Let's hit a couple of these teams, Logan. And I know we've talked about some individual performances. Let's go through and just talk about what teams have caught your eye in a positive way or a negative way. Can we talk, actually, let's go ahead and just throw this out there. Let's talk negatives first. I want to get some negatives out of the way. Does anybody want to, yeah, you're right. You're right. I don't want to end the episode on negatives. I want to get some negatives out because we've talked positive performances from players. Let's get some negative performances over it. We'll finish high. Minnesota lynx. What's going on? What's going on? Did not look composed, did not look put together, did not look interested in playing winning basketball, which is.

"There's no there's why you would do that so you don't have to play potentially to play in games to get into the one game wild card and my point back to you. Is that what. In god's green earth is telling you that that is a better scenario having garrett cole on four days a guy who has struggled in his last five to six hearts. Why pitching him early is going to give you a an advantage in that particular game to not to not get into a a mess of a scenario wide. You send the who knowing that instead who's going to anybody. I mean these guys are effectively can could do it you you you have a tight leash give your bullpen ready to go if possible and you would you approach the game. What if there's an award dental playoff game but you don't you dare call and four days rest four teams tie for the two wild spots. How about that. would you less confusion though right. Is you just play. It's still the same games. If the yankees red sox mariners all wind up time each other in the winners play each other. There's a multi tournament on our hands. The clubs would choose slash received. Their abc indeed designations on monday club. Haywood host club be and club see would host club de the winners of those games would be the wildcard teams enough to face each. That's actually less chaos. Than if that's what i'm saying. Yeah it makes it more clean. I don't want that. I want three teams. Makes it weird all right. That's going to wrap it up. We'll talk to you so The weekend obviously depends on what happens over the weekend is will dictate what we do for our next episodes regardless we're going to be doing an episode of the inkster in the wildcard game but we also want to do season ending grades so that will probably be recorded on sunday at some point and released and then if the yankees are in the chaos will obviously have to talk about that episode for that but hopefully we are sitting back with our feet up waiting to see who the yankees play in the wildcard game. And which case we will record. We know they're going to be playing anything else. You wanna say scott. Just hope he still play well in tampa. I don't want to forget about the fact that that tampa is still in front of us and they do need to win. Some games there if if tampa has has any kind of you know include to try to take us out. They could if they wanted to. So you got play that you get looked forward into the wild card without beating the raise and that's no small task. "Winston came up with a figure of five thousand dollars per person per year so we lost nearly thirty thousand people from twenty ten to twenty twenty and it times five thousand per person per year. I'm not a mathematician but it seems like that amounts to about one hundred fifty million dollars in federal funding per year. Give net a loss of population. And it's gonna had the most impact on health care funding from the feds and food and nutrition programs. Those are probably the two types of programs that are most dependent on census population numbers. Urban areas have traditionally than undercounted. They're harder to count because they have larger homeless populations and very hard to track those people down and they also have large populations of people that are simply just afraid of the government and don't want to respond. They don't have the voluntary response rate that you have in suburban and rural areas and so there's some hope for the city of detroit but i'm not gonna hold my breath on it. It was just a bad situation all around bought. We talked about this for. I think we've talked about it for two years actually Michigan league republic policy was out talking about the fact that detroit was going to be undercounted. I have no idea how many people they lost but people just did not get counted. You know there was a pandemic. There was an idiot in the oval office. So here we are now muan. Yeah let's move on. There's always more to talk about this time. let's start with a couple of stories around some state representatives. this is This is also disturbing. I'm gonna start with joel jones democratic representative for the eleventh district which is garden city. Inkster that area in april of this year. He was arrested by the state police who found him in his suv. In a ditch. The police have been called by multiple witnesses because the driving was insane like just so reckless. At one point driving eastbound in the westbound lane of i ninety six anyway ultimately he rolled over into a ditch. That's where the police found him in his passenger and he had a loaded forty caliber glock handgun in the vehicle. His pants are undone. The woman with him was unresponsive vomiting and it would later be revealed that his blood alcohol level was allegedly point one eight so more than double the legal limit. Now this is back in april upright and this is a serious allegation even though it may sound funny and parts you know. Because he's a lawmaker right. It's he's violating a law in a way that kills people and that in itself is bad enough. If that's where it stopped that would be bad enough but that's not where it stopped. And he started fighting with people. He told the state troopers the same night that he was going to call gretchen. Whitmer and she'll take their id's and their badges. He said he was in charge of their budget. Threatened them all that and if it stopped there that would be bad enough but it still didn't. He still obstructed he. He pushed an emt. He was to get into the ambulance. That was there for his passenger. Who was unconscious. They officers by the end of the night whilst the officers taste him twice and use pepper spray on just to get him into handcuffs and so he spent the night in county and at the end of it all ended up with eight charges against him and then You know and he was released on bond. He agreed not to drink Mere he agreed to random drug testing that kind of thing and then he went to facebook and he made some light..

They're as high as it's been in seven years heading into this holiday weekend and again, we always know that there's a spike On the holidays. The national average price for a gallon of regular gas was 3 12 and according to Triple a almost a dollar higher than it was a year ago. Um I I paid 3 29 today Gas station at 10, Mile and Nova. I wrote I paid 3 29 today in great this in great discuss. I can't stress that enough. But there are a lot of different things being thrown out there. Um One of the things that the Wall Street Journal sites Higher crude oil prices. Growing demand is workers returned to the office and resume commutes and a shortage of truckers in some regions that is causing bottlenecks so it's a supply. And demand issue is that what's going on? I'm interested to hear what you have to say. 808 590 wjr. So if I'm following along if you say that, in essence is a supply and demand issue right now, Then why are so many? Economists looking in their crystal balls and saying it's going to be even higher upwards to $4 a gallon a year from now. That's frustrating, and it's quizzical. There's no doubt about that numbers as always. 808 590 wjr. Let's go to Robert Hanging on the line. Robert and Roosevelt. Thank you very much for your patients, sir. You're on 7 60 wjr. How are you doing today? Tremendous you Yeah, I'm doing okay. Quick preface. The last time we paid $4.25 a gallon crude oil was at $160 a barrel. Mm. Just for to frame this argument, but I've been watching gas prices. Since I since I saw aghast at 15.9 cents a gallon. Okay? Now. Every time I've seen the gas prices jump. We've always had a stress or recession in the economy about six months later. Mhm. The problem with all of this is and I'll throw. I'm gonna throw in an extra little twist in the gas prices thing. About eight years ago, we were paying Nickel difference between regular and unleaded, regular and mid grade and another nickel between mid grade and premium. Every time the gas price would drop down a little bit. They would increase that for a nickel and they did that for about 2.5 years until they finally got to a 30 cent difference. The infrastructure for the manufacturer of fuel. It costs them, not a penny more to make premium than it does to make wages. They make it at the exact same time they just tap it off at a different temperature. All of the infrastructure. Cost them no more to make it deliberate and drop it at the gas station than regular Why they are being allowed to charge a 30 cent difference and a 60 set difference for premium. It's still astounds me and why they haven't been looked at for or This is beyond me. But you know and never know Robert, And if I may for a second, I'm glad there's somebody else out there. So you and I, whether you like it or not, we kinda have a kinship. I have always kind of secretly kept my eye on gas prices and I I remember playing his day I got my driver's license in 1987. I remember playing his day, the gas station at seven mile in Inkster had gas for 67 cents, and that's the lowest I've ever seen in my life. So that's two of us now, I guess. Yeah, that's two of us, you know, growing up in Lavonia and and thank you for the phone call. By the way. I remember that plane is day because it was a little off my beaten path. I grew up at seven and merriment, But I happened to be driving to Southfield one day and I was driving on seven mile and I saw this place. It was 67 cents, and that's the lowest I've seen it now as I mentioned, and if I took the time to go back and look at my Twitter timeline or whatever. I was down river shortly after the The lockdown started last year and everything and I stopped at a gas station. I believe it was 87 cents, and that was early April of 2020. Because if you remember the gas prices plummeted absolutely positive positively plummeted. So I'm with you. I I don't know. I seriously I don't. I'm not going to sit here and points the finger at this person or that person anything like that. Do not misconstrue. But there's something something something Fishy and I don't know what it is J in Van Buren Township. Maybe he's got some insight. J appreciate your patience, sir. You're on 7. 60 wjr. Good evening, J Happy, dry force, but Will give you some information. The biggest factor and the races today and you're going to go between four and $5 again. Is Wisconsin Pipeline. Because that pipe that oil was going down to Dallas and being define it's now going out to the Pacific. Canada's married us then to tap it off and we know who shut down the pipeline. I know you don't want to bad mouth Spike, but we know who shut it down 20,000 people out of work. And now we know how well you know me, but go right ahead. And now we become an importer of oil, where six months ago we were an exporter of oil. But the worst part about all that is oil goes into other things. Such as energy and all the energy costs are going up, and that's why your food costs are going up. There is a shortage of truck drivers that does affect some things, but the major reason is we're no longer While sufficient. Yeah. No, I Hey, listen. Is that part of it? Absolutely. It is kind of funny, though, in J. I appreciate the comment. I had to have a chuckle. Mike, you and I have talked about this many times. You, Dave, You've.

Chicken Dissertation
"So we did they ll the videos out yet a hope maybe by the end of the week I've been. Kind of lazy this last week. there's other things going on but. We did the prototype chair. And I was in a hot debate with myself on whether or not to add the embellishments to that chair or leave it as it is because it's I thought it looked kind of cool as it is, but I also wanted to do these other things to it. And I made the decision to leave it as is. So that video is complete, just got to shoot the ending in. Put that out and then I had started but not gotten very far on version number two I have this beautiful walnut slab and I'm not really in slab furniture. So I'm going to cut it up into pieces and I can resell it, and I can get the the legs in the seat out of it and I kind of home the design a little bit more so it doesn't look so. it looks cool but there's a there's a computer Drawing element to it that kind of boats may so I? I just kinda redrew it just a little bit. To get rid of it, give it some more I guess Pachuco feel to it and then. For the owls if you I mean nobody's seen this. So but the most of it is made up of of dowels and on the second one I use PVC pipe, it is such a cheap option and I was. For a little bit, Kinda wanted to do a stainless steel and get too expensive and maybe it's too cold and the alternative to that was conduit electrical conduit, which is also super cheap. You get like a ten foot thing for four bucks or whatever. and then settled for the PVC. 'cause it's going to have like a brilliant white up against this walnut Look good. So starting with that, and the problem with this one is a totally fail because the slab have has we're grain in it. and. Then you know whenever you cut into that, it could just twist and bandon turned into a single chip. So hopefully, it doesn't. So That's Canada now and Yeah I'm happy. I'm happy with the design I. I. I e fumbled a little bit or a Kinda. Where your bottom sits on there, I fix curbed a little bit and then the back is I move the curve down just a little bit just to make it a little bit more comfortable. It's still I don't think it's going to be a chair that you wanNA, sit in for hours. Because there's no cushion. It's just kind of forms to your body. But as a dining chair, I think it will work just fine. It's like a starbucks chapter like the starbucks chairs look really comfortable in about three or four minutes in you're like. They, do that on purpose so you don't stay in there. was going to say about furniture is one of the designed chairs I know my own personal experiences you never know if you've made the right decision that insecurity will sit with you forever might mice stools with you Built it will haunt you forever because every time I sit in my stool I made four of those those made full more for customers. I was very anxious to send out hoping that they would be happy with the result, but that's the way I am with anything that I ever make for customer I'm always anxious fulfilled their expectations. But by stools, I've made three of them made for them. Three of them are here at my house. One of them's entails design studio and I was sitting in last night and the whole time I'm sitting in my mind is just an autopilot maybe the foot rungs to love maybe the former inkster high, maybe the the the the but is too low maybe the butts to hide maybe why I grabbed on my fingers, it could have been thin. I can't stop it. So it's the same thing like when you're sitting in your run chair show you having very similar experience. You just can't stop let you can did I make the right decisions one hundred percent I might my personal thought was if I can sit in this chair without thinking about sitting in this chair than I know a I've done it right but I Without, judge without feeling without trying to figure out where to go next it's I. Don't know if I'll ever get to that point.
