"You know, the line is too thin between damn. This seems might have a lot of weapons and I don't know who they're throwing the ball too. You know, at the end of that ball game, they really had to work for it to get in the end zone. And I just remember sitting there and thinking, a lot of the same way I was thinking about the chiefs and the reds on yesterday at times. You know, this used to be easier for them. You know, it feels like more of a struggle. And I think Green Bay figures it out. I mean, this isn't reactive. I've been saying this for three weeks. You know, relax, man. They lose to a division rival who beats them with regularity and the Vikings. Lazard is out. They look kind of hapless. They struggle through the bears a little bit. But it takes time and Romeo Dobbs who I had on my damn bench and fantasy after I dragged about stealing them in the 9th, or whatever it was, which is not a steal at all people tell me. I had a big game last night, and lazard looked good. Even if they don't get big numbers on the ground, they can run the football. And just committing to that and the defense man with Sean Gary coming along. I know you love that. I believe in the packers. I'm not saying they're the best team in the NFC, but they're not going to go away. Okay, so you can only choose one in the AFC south, the colts who just shocked the chiefs or the Jaguars who just put it on the Chargers after shutting out the colts, they are now two in one. I'm gonna bite the cheese. I'm gonna go with the Jags, man. Part of that is, it's a Homer pick for me. It's not a pick I made a month ago. That's why preseason predictions suck, rich. Because nobody knows anything. So like, you know, who cares? If you get something right or get some wrong, who knew that the Jaguars were going to look this good? You know, like who really knew. I knew that they got some nice edge rushers. Josh Allen had a really nice day yesterday. But they really took it to the Chargers. And charges had some drops early but it could have stayed in that football game. But the Jags, if you go back and watch your indie game last week and I got a really dig into this charges game. They're just so fun to watch offensively. You know, like we made fun of the Christian Kirk signing, right? He's paid dividends. He's getting touchdowns out of the backfield. You know, a bunch of a bunch of motion Doug Doug's doing a great job of getting people open, but also occupying eyes. I think there were top 5 and a league in motion through the first two weeks. It probably hasn't changed after the Chargers. He's constantly gaming and getting advantages. Evan Ingram's getting involved, who giants fans who remember, that was a little frustrating at times. But they look fun and Trevor Lawrence looks a little more subtle than that was a big, big boy win for them. Yeah, I would go jag. Okay. And I guess the emotional pick is because it's Doug Peterson there, because I had a conversation just on this show in the segment before, Chris talking about how, look, we all know that Doug Peterson is going to add something to the mix, but part of the benefit for him in Jacksonville is he's not urban Meyer, and I pointed out how last year the game that the Jaguars had in so far, that's the one where James Robinson got benched for fumbling and Trevor Lawrence went up to urban Meyer and saying, where is he? And he got put back in the game and then urban denied benching him to the media. And that was when the players reportedly went up to the rams after the game and said, please save us. Get us out of here. And now they return to the same stadium and just spank the Chargers with Robinson scoring from midfield, running it in. Fourth and one, which is where you get a lot of great that was the nail in the coffin too, but you get a lot of big explosive runs on fourth and one. Everybody's in the box and you make one guy miss and you're out there. But I just love Doug's aggressiveness and also last yesterday early he was aggressive on fourth and medium and then he laid up as you saw the kind of tempo or that football game. He's a great head coach. I think when you look at Trevor Lawrence, you know, getting the ball out really fast yesterday against the rush with Joey Bosa was down early. That was a big deal. But if you get the ball out quick, Doug's probably looking as child because the last guy had to deal with was Carson. We just talked about how long he's holding on the football like Doug. If Doug can have an efficient quarterback that gets the ball where he needs to get it, he's decisive. You can work around the protection, the perceived protection problems. But yeah, the reason the colts for me, that's a good win yesterday. They got a really good defense Gus Bradley called a good game. But the chiefs had a bunch of chances to win that football game. You know, so I'm not going to take too much from that game. I know they missed The Rookie pierced the wide out, but I don't think I'm going to I'm going to I don't think I'm believing in the colts just yet. Well, and I guess in the last thing for you, that chiefs colts game did turn significantly on a personal and I guess an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Chris Jones and it looked like he said something to Matt Ryan after he sacked Ryan and the chiefs were going to get off the field and then didn't and then they lost, what do you think happened there? What's your best guess on somebody who's been in those phrase before? There had to be bad. Baby said 28 three or something and the rep was like that is just too that is just too much. You know, Maddie Iceland guy. I contend that he didn't lose that Super Bowl. No one should hold that Super Bowl over his head or against him, but maybe Christian's kid or something. I'm like, what the hell could you say? You know, he was so calm, whatever he said. They must have been, there's two things I really want to know, like, what did Lattimore say to Brady last week, right? We talked about this. Yes. Yes. And then it is our fly on the wall. It's like what did Chris Jones say to Matt Ryan, but chiefs had chances, they dropped the ball on third and 7 in the end zone, the special teams. I count 14 points with the month that they gave up on special teams, you know? They had to run a fake field goal because they had no faith in their kicker. They get bucker back. They figured some things out offensively. I'm not panicking about the chiefs because they play good defense. But the colts man, like I'm not going to take too much from that win. So who's on the green light pod this week? What do you got, what do you got set up? Well, we got a guest on Wednesday that if this guest comes through, he's one of the best. Rich, do you like you ever do you give away the guests a day or two before? Do you ever worry that people are going to flake? Well, it depends. Do you know this person? I know the person. Okay. You know, he's playing football right now. That's football players in the history of the game. Okay. Defensive defensive. He's an edge guy. Okay. He's probably going to come on on Wednesday. So did he win or lose this week? Did he win or lose? Because sometimes guys don't like to come on after they come up with the L. That's a great question. That's a great question. And he lost. So yes, I mean, that could narrow it down. But I like Vaughn. I think Vaughn's going to come in. Yes. Come on, Bond. He'll come through. Vinyl company. You know what? The type of guy that he's not going to hide after. I'm not saying he would, but you never know. But we were hoping to have bond on this week and then we've got some more fun lined up late in the week with Stanford Steve as you on Friday and that sort of thing. Fantastic. And then you chopped it up with your brother after a week three. Everybody should check that out. Green light pod with Chris long right here on the rich eisen show. Check out the pod. Go hit the RSS feed, go hit the follow and all of that good stuff at Joel 9 one on Twitter and lafa Blanca on Instagram. IG shout out rich. That's it, man. I cover all the bases best. Thank you, sir. Good talking to you, buddy.
Memphis Police Arrest Live Stream Killer
"I had to get this stuff off my chest. I've been waiting to talk about this all day. I was on Laura Ingram last night talking about it and I had to wait all the way to today the radio show for me to actually express myself on the subject matter, but it's troubling, man. I mean, we got a lot of factors here that are going on that has been exposed through what happened the other night with this guy. And you know, I haven't seen, I know this is what this was a multi scene incident, right? I think there was like 6 or 7 scenes. But I'm telling you, when there is a black victims, it almost immediately they got a picture all on the TV with all the victim impact people on the TV crying, talking to my mom. My cousin dessert to do it. The white man bad, the white man bad, the white man bad. And I'll tell you what, in these cases, like the kid that went up there to tops, he deserved to be killed. For what he did. That's what I believe. Give him the death penalty. There's no heat on camera. He live streamed it. His appeal process as soon as it's over, they take him straight from the appeal process to dead to death. He should be killed.
How Drug Companies Stand to Make Billions by Preying on Children
"Can you talk about how Pfizer and these major companies stand to make billions? Off of children that are being preyed on by weak parents and these predatory doctors and institutions. Talk about lupron. Yeah, so lupron is manufactured by a company called AbbVie. And AbbVie recommends lupron for precocious puberty endometriosis as well as prostate cancer, which is what I believe it was developed to treat. They say that it should only be used for three months. The FDA also doesn't recommend this for gender dysphoria. However, the drug between 2020 and 2021, I believe, increased in sales by some $30 million. And lupron does sell for this purpose. It is the main puberty blocker that I believe is used in the U.S., although there are others. So AbbVie does stand to make a lot of money from this. It was interesting because you were Laura Ingraham Ingram's show the other night, talking about this and I was watching your segment and as I was watching, there was an advertisement for AbbVie, pharmaceuticals, and I thought now isn't that interesting. That they're on TV right now talking about how dangerous this is. And here's this company buying ad time with Fox to talk about how amazing their products are that are actually farming children.
"ingram" Discussed on Open Floor: SI's NBA Show
"I mean, I think it's more of a conversation than what I was saying before. You know me. I hate trade machines. I think I probably have them in my pop up blockers like trade machines count too. I hate them. I despise them. I go like this with the crucifix. Like I don't want anywhere near me. Keep them from round your boy. Anyway, so if you're not giving up any key key member of the team, other than Ingram, I think it's more of a conversation. They've got so much young talent on that team, even just, you know, they've got guys on that team that would be nice young pieces that I imagine. Brooklyn would want to be in on, that they would prefer, over Garrett temple. Garrett temple would make the trade work, but I imagine that Brooklyn would ask for more than that and probably say we need more than that. Beyond just Ingram. Maybe they wouldn't. If you could get it done like that, I could understand the logic behind it. I probably still wouldn't pull the trigger, but I think a lot of people would. My thing though to what you were saying is you used the phrase slow boil, which is funny when we're talking about New Orleans because of their food. I don't know how much of a slow soft pedaling that is. They look pretty ready to compete. Maybe contend is a strong word. Two years from now, they could be a real contender in the west. Maybe that's a little early, maybe it's not. It's hard to know exactly what they are until you see Zion is part of what they're doing. But they might not be that far away. And that's why I'm saying like, I don't know that I would, I don't know that I would give up a ton of picks and a franchise level player, obviously him enzyme being that Ingram.
Brandon Tatum: The Left Thrives off of Double Standards
"Some journalists named Wesley Lowry because I'm very interested in your perspective on the left's reaction to the buffalo massacre. Let's listen to journalist Wesley Lowry to Brian stelter over the weekend on CNN. Let's be clear. The stuff Tucker and Laura Ingraham say every night, it could be written by white supremacists very often. There is a section of this manifesto where the shooter starts talking about people always say diversity is strength. How is it strength? I could hear it in Tucker's voice. He says this all the time, right? But the Ben Shapiro's of the world say this is a big chunk about the idea of genetic differences that could have been pulled from an Andrew Sullivan column, right? There are plenty of people in our politics in our media who advance these ideas and advance them frequently. Oh, so it's Ben Shapiro's fault, or it's Andrew Sullivan's fault, or Laura Ingram's father, public enemy number one, Tucker Carlson's fault. Officer Tatum, they just can't help themselves, can they? Oh, these people are deranged and they're out of their minds and they live and they thrive off a double standards. It's quite ironic that they're willing to, you know, put the blame on Tucker Carlson and other conservatives who may have some ideas that are accurate that this guy plagiarized and used to the detriment of other people. But they're not out here talking about Illinois or any of these Democrats who are literally telling white people that they're the enemy of the world. They are really creating in my opinion these homegrown terrorists by spending most of their time making white people feel horrible about existing in this country, making white male Christian straight men feel like that they are the enemy of the people, make wealthy white men feel like they're destroying America every minute because they've accomplished the level of success. I think that more so, those individuals who are saying are creating this negative rhetoric create these deranged lunatics that go out and do this.

"ingram" Discussed on Chad Ford's NBA Big Board
"Lack of explosion, the difference, though, is that I think he's a bit stiff defensively where his hips can just freeze on him at any given moment. And that kind of worries me. I don't know what you think of his defense and some of his other weaknesses, but we'll have to hear your thoughts on that. Yeah, I think there are players that can expose him a little bit defensively because you mentioned he gets upright and stiff. That said he rated as a very good isolation defender. I think a lot of his isolation issues defensively came on switching onto small guards. I don't think he's necessarily a guy, which is one through 5. That's everyone's appeal, but very few people actually do that. But I think he Garth took through four fairly well. He's very strong. I think he's as stronger player than Kyle Anderson is. Or especially at that same stage when Kyle Anderson was coming out of UCLA. I think Harrison Ingram in 1819 years old was far far more physical. And the other thing I'll say is he's active and he's aware defensively. He's rotates very well is off ball defense is really good. And Stanford's defense is a pack line, meaning that he doesn't get a lot of steel. So if you're worried about like, oh, he's 6, 8, he doesn't have a ton of steals. That's something I don't think you should be too worried about because he's always in the right spots. And even then he gets his hand on a lot of basketballs. And then one thing I want to add about offense where we're talking about cons. I think sometimes he's so determined to get his way to the perfect spot. He passes up on shots that I think will be more evident and frequently available for him at the NBA level, whereas in the college he was the best individual creator on Stanford. And so I think one of the cons is a pro for his pro game is that he won't have to do that. And so a lot of the shots will be cutting or spot ups as opposed to pump fake, one dribble, get to the mid post and shoot tougher shots, which really hurt his percentages. And I think the fact that he was able and forced to do that will actually help him in the long run and it will be it'll be a con in terms of his percentages and the scattering report. But I think it'll be a pro in the long run for his pro career. Yeah, and something to think about when scouting players like these guys who are first options in college, but absolutely have no business being a first option in the MBA is you have to look at what they're actually going to do. I mean, the post office, let's be real. The post-ops are going to be so minimal. And that was like his fourth highest play run in college or 5th high, it's something like that. That is no weird near what will actually be the truth in the NBA for him. If he's posting up, it's because he's got someone tiny on him. That is the only reason Mike, if he's got a Trey Burke on him or something, yeah, go ahead and post them up. But other than that, it's not going to happen, and that's not something that happens probably 25 times in an MBA season for a role player like Harrison Ingram. I like how and one other thing actually and I like how you brought up the off ball defense and the motor pretty much. I think that's important to note. The only other con I would bring up is just the shot. It's slow. It's a set shot. That's kind of a weakness for me. I'm iffy about those kind of guys, but ultimately I do think that he can improve in the touches there. I think he has good follow through and everything, but let's do kind of we do this on every time I do a scouting report. Expected role worst case best case, and then if you want throw comparison in there and where you think you'll get drafted, for me, I think the comparison I already touched on Kyle Anderson, I think it's the perfect comparison. But let's talk about the best case worst case and expected role. I'm interested to hear your thoughts. Is that you get a 5th starter? A 5th starter who can fill in and be a 12 points a game, 6 rebounds, and by a midway through his career. And he plays solid defense and he's a very good team player. And I think the most likely cases he's like a 6 or 7th man who plays good defense and he plays similarly on a better team. And so if he's on a good team, I think you can move him lower his minutes, but his effectiveness will rise. And I think worst case is that is shooting doesn't improve. And now he's just a solid athlete but not an explosive one and someone that plays tenth man on a solid team. And he could always contribute a bad team. But I see his game style contributing more and helping more on a good team than one that is striving to rebuild. And then a comparison, you mentioned Kyle Anderson, I think that's a really good one. I kind of see, and this one, this one's a little out there. I kind of see a worse shooting Sadiq bay, also just the way that they're built neither explodes out of the gym. But they're very solid they have good footwork. They jump stop, they defend, especially they smartly defend. They're not going to overwhelm you physically. The difference is Sadiq bay can shoot the lights out. And I think Harrison Ingram is never going to get to that level of shooting, but I think he's a slightly better athlete version of how I understand and not as good a shooter as a big face. So those are kind of my two. Yeah, I like that. I like that. And I would touch on the worst case best case. I think I agree with the best case. The worst case, I actually think he's out of the league if he can't shoot. That's our major break thing. I think it's very want, but I think if he's not shooting the ball, even if that 31% number is it, I'm going to have a hard time. I don't know if he's going to be a good enough to defend her and pass her combo to make up for it and actually earn consistent minutes. I think that Trump shots a massive swing skill. Where do you think he gets drafted? Last 5 picks of the first draft and then maybe that's probably where I would say is the most likely and I could see him go on to kind of in that 25 to 35 range is kind of where my thought process is. I would pick him around there and I could see a team getting happy with, oh wow, we got a 6 8 freshman that was forced to play on ball and now we'll have him play off ball that could see a team falling in love with him taking you before then and I can see people being worried by his shot and taking him below 35, but I think 25 to 35 is kind of the range where he'll likely hear his name called. Yeah, I think his best case is like 29 through 30 is pick. And then could fall down in the 40s. I really do wonder how the stats just don't favor him and the stats plus I test like with the athleticism in terms of that. Definitely doesn't do him any favors. So I can see him kind of falling in that regard, but that was our Harrison Ingram scouting report out of Stanford. On the other side, we're going to talk about JD Davison from Alabama, the explosive guard in what we like and don't like kind of do the same thing with JD Davison. But first, let me tell you about shady rates. Shady raises an independent sunglasses company that gives you the features of.

Where Do Young Democrats Watch Their News? This Will Shock You
"As CNN collapses, you might be wondering, hey, where do Democrats get their news from? Well, Democrats are increasingly getting their news from. Tucker Carlson. New stats out show that Tucker Carlson Fox News pulled off with the self proclaimed most desirable demographic Democrats young Democrats of all those demographic age viewers surveyed who identified as Democrats. 39% of people who identify as Democrats choose Fox News. 31% choose MSNBC and 30% choose CNN. Politifact or Politifiction?
"The fact checking site, PolitiFact has done a fact check on me. Fact checking a statement that I made on Fox News on the Ingram angle. And the kind of back and forth between me and the PolitiFact writer. This is a guy named Bill McCarthy. It's very revealing because it takes you into The Twilight Zone of the fact checking world. Now, I should say I kind of give away the result, will it affect rates my statement falls? So let's go through the statement to see what in it is false. Here's what I said and I'm gonna actually read the quote it's fairly short. This is what PolitiFact set out to fact check. I said this if you follow January 6th at the granular level with the facts that are coming out slowly. They're coming out because the government has been very reluctant to release footage, particularly footage of what happened in the tunnel on January 6th, where you now begin to see these cops using massive amounts of force against unarmed Trump supporters, including women. The death of Roseanne boyland is now being called into question where she the second Trump supporter killed by the authorities. Quote, that's the statement. It might seem pretty innocuous and it alludes to two specific facts. One, the fact that the government has been reluctant and in fact this date has not released the full footage of January 6th and has certainly not released the full footage of what happened in the tunnel and two that cops used force massive amounts of force to quote myself against unarmed Trump supporters, including women.

Wet Notes - 9-27-21
"This is wet notes here on scuba shock radio for monday. September twenty seventh two thousand and twenty one first up. I want to congratulate tech clark and a dive locker. Podcast on celebrating the second anniversary for those who don't know about this. Podcast tech. Started this to help die professionals with various topics and techniques. But it's not just for dive professionals. I remember listening to the first episode. Way back in two thousand nineteen just before dima that year i've come to look forward to each weekly episode tech plans to keep the show going and has teed up a lot of great new content for the year year ahead. So i'd encourage you to check out the dive locker podcast. There's a lot of great information and perspective on things that hopefully will give you something to think about. Scuba shack is a proud patron of the dive locker. By the way tech also hosts a podcast titled the league of extraordinary divers. Where you can listen to some of the giants of our industry. Great job tech. Keep it coming now. I don't know what it is. But i seem to be a sucker for a message in a bottle story. So here's another one this time. The story involves a bottle that was washed up on the shores of the big island of hawaii. The bottle started his journey thirty seven years ago from japan and it was put in the water by school children. As part of an experiment in monitoring ocean currents the number of bottles were cast into the ocean in nineteen eighty-four from choshi highschool hawaii's about six thousand kilometers or four thousand three hundred miles from the launch point now. The bottle was found by abbie graham while her family was visiting a beach near hilo. It is estimated that about seven hundred and fifty of these bottles were tossed into the ocean between nineteen eighty four and nineteen eighty five. The last time one was found was in two thousand and two on kake. Jima island overall. The bottles have been found in seventeen. Different locations including okinawa the philippines china and even the west coast of the united states. I just get fascinated by these stories and often wonder just how many messages in bottles are out there in the ocean now. Last week we got an email from the clearly clearly came in resorts and it wasn't good. News clearly came in resorts include cobalt coast on grand cayman. Little came beach resort and cayman. Brac beach resort. The news informed us that the cayman borders will remain closed until two thousand twenty two. Now that's tough at a recent press conference to premier indicated that phase. Three of the original plan will start sometime. In february given the rise in cove in nineteen cases the resorts are now planning on opening on february. Fifth two thousand twenty two. Now this has been a really tough situation. If you remember way back in april i reported that the plan was to open in late april or early may two thousand and twenty one. It's been a long and difficult road for a lot of places. Surely the caymans are feeling abroad. We hope it gets resolved before october. Twenty twenty two trip yet. That on certain there's been a great deal of communication coming from tom. Ingram the president and ceo of dima the dive equipment marketing association regarding the two thousand twenty one show in las vegas. Tom unequivocal be states. That the show has absolutely no plans. Of cancelling now they did indicate that accordance with the local health mandates. Everyone will be required to wear a mask on the exhibit floor. There are several large past exhibitors. Who are forgoing the show this year causing some to question whether it should even take place. I know we've been getting a lot of surveys from our vendors as to whether we plan to go or not right now matt and i will be there. Tom indicated that it would be extremely difficult to cancel at this late date. Given the contracts that are in place and that if it were cancelled it would seriously impact demon's ability to put on these shows in the future. So we're looking forward to a successful show this year out in las vegas and finally today. I wanna talk about a piece of underwater camera gear that you might just want to consider. There was an article from sport diver magazine by john widow titled great camera accessories for underwater photography. It was a scuba lab review of the products that the staff took diving at alexander springs in central florida. First on the list was a sea life. Sport diver smartphone housing. Now that's pretty cool. I can remember my first. Underwater camera was sealife. Reef master with a whopping three mega pixels now. This housing will fit a number of iphones and android smartphones. The housing is bluetooth enabled and his rate it to one hundred and thirty feet. The sea life sport diver smartphone. Housing comes with a vacuum seal and duly alarms when you purchase the housing. You'll get a free app that will give you access to most of your phones. Usual camera functions also included is a red filter. And if that's not enough to housing allows you to put in those sealife life color changing moisture. Munchers he i remember those now. The housing isn't cheap. It retails for two hundred ninety nine dollars and ninety five cents. Us but if you wanna travel light and still get some great underwater shots of your adventures check out the c. Life sport diver smartphone housing at sea. Life fash cameras dot com. Well that's it for this edition of wet notes here on scuba shack radio.

"King. Fish ingram is here on the world cafe. We're talking about his new album. Six two and how. I was just so impressed by the confidence. I imagine people get hung up on guitar stuff so much. Yeah because you are so good at that but like this is like one of those. I'm coming into my own as vocalist. Thank you. I feel like sometimes that can be kind of a i can say no life. Lack of a better could be kind of a pain because like some people they just want you to play in street all the time. So when they hear like songs they they don't they don't know how to take it. You know they're ready for that shredding solo in stuff so you just gotta you know sometimes in other have substance you've got to focus on the song writing in actual arrangements and stuff like the song christou king fish ingram my guest here on the world cafe up next performance of long distance woman disregarded at ground zero and in clarksdale mississippi. "Who certainly know the defense who can play rebound oga. Ford does not have the high. Upside of melvin ingram. But he's a solid with. You could do worse than having alex. Okafor's a guy who comes in and plays you know half your snaps so i do think that she's got to cover themselves. And this part on this kind of editorializing on maybe that she's looked at it and say we'd really like getting them and if we can open up the cash face to do so comfortably we will. If we can't we know we've got okafor on the back burner. i still more peeve. Frankly the i. I think losing shot was insane. The amount of money that he was going to call us and ended up costing minnesota. I don't get that like to me. He's the kind of guy considering their positional need value. I would have just said look. I don't care. We need to get that gun. Take care of business. Those two sides had a good relationship after he signed minnesota flat out said. I thought i was going to kansas city so it wasn't like it wasn't like jason have interest in did they just didn't bring him back and i i think with the edge we jones kicking outside. You bring back oakland for. I like my dan a lot more. Maybe than some others. I think he's a pretty good rotational kid and he got taco charlton. Frank clark. of course. I think the chiefs will be okay there if jones stays outside now. He doesn't then. I think there is a significant hole. There but i think that was kind of the plan and they shine gironde read. We're going to give jones a of snaps at there. I'm more worried about corner. I love snead. And i really liked ward is a solid to like live with various award You're one injury away from major issues there. A you better if you ask me other than like injury mahomes or kelsey your health. "So all that say four million was definitely doable. Especially for a position at the chiefs really need more players that just more bodies. It doesn't even matter if it's if you're getting a guy that can play all three downs at this point. You kind of really just need another body that can that can give you good apps and i think ingram definitely fits that although he did only play seven games last year no sacks as jared sap. Our our new era had pride contributor. Our new team has pointed out on twitter no sacks and so there is a little hesitation that but what i think the the the non signing the chiefs not signing him says is that they either a confident in defensive end position or they don't think is worth the four million dollars and so i think we gotta we gotta take it as confidence that they they have guys there because i think ingram's taken that deal in kansas city if it's offered him i think you're if you're ingram you're playing in a division that you already know you know these offensive tackles. You're planning extra former team which you know. There may not be bad blood but hey you know t some players are motivated by that and you're also just planning on a better team and so it makes me think that the chiefs didn't offer this if you didn't if signed elsewhere for this kind of money i would argue that. They probably didn't offer him a contract at all. Because if you're offering veteran pass rusher you're gonna it's gonna be competitive with that number or higher. I'm not even sure they that he would take a visit. If the team wasn't going to offer you know something over veteran minimum right there. I'm sure they have that conversation before he even came to town. I think that they just made a decision that they either weren't that interested in him. They were concerned about his medicals. Or or maybe there was something in in the workout that there was a red flag for them. I think this was one of those things where the chiefs kicked the tires and decided that now this this is not Not a big need for us. It certainly does point to their confidence. In what's on the roster and probably their comfort level with the free clark situation. Yeah because i think that's another interesting point is that they brought him into visit. What like may or april. Maybe it was way back when and we actually there's been no official reports that they've had any sort of talks since then. I think it's it's just been all chiefs twitter and us speculating. Hey melvin ingram still out there. We visited or talked with him at one time. So they're still interest you think..

"Let's ride podcast every monday wednesday friday but also all of our other morning shows like the live mike staticky can all of rpm shows that are also simulcast on facebook live in on youtube. All right. let's get right into things. Everyone is excited. I can tell that steeler nation is starting to kind of wake up again as my writer die crew on twitter. I put out the tweet. And i said okay mailbag time. He wants to have some questions. And to my. Gosh there's a lot. Everyone wants to talk about. Melvin ingram and rightfully so in case. You didn't see monday. The steelers were reportedly signing. Melvin ingram on tuesday. That became official. They release two players. They also brought in a tackle formerly of the indianapolis colts instead of bolstering their lineup. A little bit melvin. Ingram is a player that a lot of people are curious about and they asked the question which is how do you think he fits. And the first thing. I want to make sure it's very clear. This is not in any way. Shape or form. Melvin ingram being placed on the steelers roster is not in any way shape or form a demotion for alex highsmith. Not at all just like last season. When alex smith was drafted it was not dude as a demotion for bud to free. This is not a case of you know when the steelers strategies misused during yet sammie coats and martinez frying kind of going back and forth about twitter was not the case. It's not the case now. Either alex highsmith's going into his second year in the national football league in no way shape performance anymore gonna say he's a veteran he's an entrenched starter. He is going to be learning. As the season progresses everyone with a brain in between their ears should know this. And it's it's going to be smart that it is smart that the steelers go went out in found valuable leadership and experience at a position of need. The pittsburgh steelers the two positions. I think most would agree with us. The two positions especially on the defensive side of the football that are glaring when it comes to so thin in the in the depths department. It's outside linebacker and then quarterback but it's different quarterback you have depth is just unproven death in other words. You have occur brown undrafted rookie. You have james beard. We don't know a ton about him based on the fact that he hasn't played that much and then you have some other players justin lane. Even they have depth. But it's unproven death on on the outside linebacker depth chart. That's a different story altogether on the outside linebacker depth chart you have nothing. The coverage is pretty bare. You have obviously t. J. watt alex smith. You had cassius. Marsh in quincy rochet six draft pick from temple slash miami the u. That's it that was it. It wasn't even a potential thing. Yeah quincy rochet. You're like okay. Maybe he got was sixth round draft. Pick for a reason. He's a six round draft. Pick if anyone thought that he was worth more or worthy of a higher slot they would have drafted him. They didn't six round draft pick into the dealer. Said we need to make a move. They released dave decastro. They free up cap space. And you bring in a player who i again. I'm not claiming to be an expert. Here but melvin. Ingram from all accounts that i've read and people that i trust is that he could be the perfect number three tass rusher for the steelers. Let me give you a couple of reasons. Why number one. This is something that i like. How hot is that. He can play both sides. He is not a player that has to always rush from the right or always rushing the left he can play those sides. That is huge. Checkmark number one. Another thing is that melvin. Ingram is experience employs. This guy he's not thinking about someone. Like cassius marsh or you think about ola finian pass. Where did they struggle. They struggled in setting the edge. They just weren't big enough. They just aren't strong enough. That's not melvin ingram. This guy can play the run. He can set the edge. He knows exactly what's asked of him. He will be just finding that department. Kenny rush the passer. Absolutely absolutely in jeffrey benedict. Who does more about football than ideal he talked about his bullrushes is number one..

He had three pro bowls in there in two thousand seventeen two thousand eight two thousand nineteen i say. He's a defensive and he's also listed as an outside linebacker depending on the scheme at. They're running so he would be coming in as an edge. Rusher with the pittsburgh steelers. Now what does this mean. It now means that one of the positions were the steelers had the least amount of depth as much more fortified. The steelers were going into the season with t. J. watt alex highsmith cassius marsh. And quincy rochet. As the four main players. not counting. Any of their undrafted free agents that they had signed as depth as the players at outside linebacker bringing in ingram it does not mean he instantly becomes the starter over highsmith. I honestly personally. I doubt that's going to be the case. I think he's brought in to be that next guy rotational piece in order for the steelers to have you know. Keep that three. What a lot of times works best as a three man rotation with the outside linebacker group ingram. He's only got forty nine career sacks. I know some people like that doesn't seem like very much. He didn't have any last year like a lot of things that we've seen. He had a pretty rough two thousand twenty. He only appeared in seven games. The problem last year was his patellar tendon in two thousand nineteen yet a hamstring problem in two thousand thirteen. It was an acl. two thousand fourteen. It was his hip. But so you're like. Wow that sounds like an awful lot of injuries but there was also a four year. Stretch of their from twenty fifteen through twenty eighteen or ingram appeared in every game. But if you're talking about bringing in someone he's thirty two years old if you're bringing him into the steelers to add depth to the position this could be a fantastic signing because he's going to get playing time but he's not going to be asked to do too much. I think it really helps your up. One of the question marks with the steelers defense going into this season. So that's what we have from ingram some of his other stats first career. He's got fourteen forced. Fumbles and seven fumble. Recoveries he did have a fumble recovery for a touchdown in two thousand seventeen. He also has three career interceptions. It was one each of the last three seasons. We even had an interception at twenty twenty even though he didn't have a lot of playing time. So that's some of the things that talking about ingram. In that regard. I actually went to to say something that Jeffrey benedict shared right away with The bt esi staff on our on our slack channel if. I can find it here. Which i need to yes. This was his initial thoughts on ingram from looking at some film because geoffrey. And i are going to be ready to do a steelers vertex article about ingram as soon as we can. And he says that his intelligent stands out he reads plays in reacts quickly powerful not a twitch guy. Good motor has a spin to go with his power. Rushes makes him think of highsmith to be honest which is pretty cool and l. ingram also played both sides so that means he could be added on either side for for the steelers of for the outside linebacker. So it's it's pretty exciting the steelers. It's we'll see what the contract details ended up being. But that's the news today. July nineteenth that melvin. Ingram the third has signed with the the pittsburgh steelers We should be getting something official from the steelers before too long. But at this point as much as it's hit the the media outlets there shouldn't be any concern over that so make sure if nothing else you're checking out behind the steel curtain dot com. It is your one stop shop for all things pittsburgh steelers we will have extensive coverage on the ingraham signing as well as everything as the as the players report to training camp this week. "Make a move so you don't have to sacrifice your great player where he is to move him on the outside. I think what you're saying is totally fair. The place where. I think i would just disagree. Is that like. I think what you have in. The interior is more than fine. And i made the mistake of saying the word find. That's on me. I no issues with them going out. And signing by the way bringing in. Melvin ingram or olivier vernon. Those guys can help you like whether chris jones on the interior on the outside wherever he ends up being. You still need help right now. A defense event. And i think that's totally fair to say that I think what they're doing is more about the run than a pass. I think the chiefs have noticed that their run defense flat out has stunk for the last like three four five years. Now in if you're going to get better there at the best way to do. That is by moving chris jones to the outside having jarran reed and derek nadi playing in the interior on running downs. Like first and ten second three those sorts of downs. You're gonna see chris jones. that's when he's going to be playing outside. That's also when you're going to be seeing anthony. Hitchens and mick bolton on the field. I think they're just going bigger. They wanna get more bulk out there to be able to prevent teams from running all over them. Which has been a huge huge issue for many years now and i think that's the biggest thing i think on passing downs third and seven Second fifteen those sorts of situations. I think you're gonna see chris. Jones bump back inside because they know that's where he's at his best when it comes to his pass rush presence. I don't expect to see him out there a whole lot on those situations. I think it's going to be very specific in the way that they utilize them. And i think they're gonna utilize them as a weapon similar to what you see them. Offensively utilizing mccoll hardman. Wear a one time. He's going to be in the slot. Maybe he lines up in the backfield and then ends up. Kinda motioning out. Does that that orbit motion like you're going to see him all over the place. I think that's gonna be what they do with chris jones on the defensive line and i think it's perfectly valid to be concerned about. Christians are moving outside. I have questions about whether or not. He is truly athletic. Enough to like ben the edge and go up against some of those best tackles in the nfl. But adding melvin. Ingram doesn't change the situation in any way. You're you're still expecting frank clark to likely be suspended in some way so even if it's for the first four games of the season or whatever you're probably going to see him bounce outside a little bit and i just kind of to see what happens. It's early in the years. So i want to experiment. I want them to play round because their pass rush was a problem last year. It was an issue. So they're run. Defense has been issued for several years. But let's not act. Like last year with chris jones on the interior he went for like twenty sacks or something like that they had issues getting pressure. And that wasn't chris jones fault. That was frank clark's fault and they still haven't addressed that. They're still banking on frank clark being productive and hopefully they do bring in veteran guy but i wanna see how that all fits together at maybe it's taco charlton. I don't know but they still have plenty of question. Marks there no. I'm not saying. They don't have question marks. But i mean if you bring in a guy. A veteran like me melvin. Ingram is the one that has been talked about the most cheap circles. I think it definitely changes it. I mean you. You have a veteran. I think a guy out there that you trust that can play that role out there right. Now you're sitting here with taco charlton and mike dana. Like i mean right now like there is no. You can't feel great about that. And i feel like a bit of that makes you feel forced to kick him outside. I think that was a really nice point that you may be k. About this is about the run but this ninety four anymore. So what they're gonna do. They see those off those four linemen out there and they see oh derek. Nadi in june read and chris jones on the outside. But they're gonna throw they're gonna to teams are going to throw mega. They're going to change the way as you said. I believe you all said that that. That kid is the top three quarterback and all of the league doesn't herbert heston herbert for the chargers whenever they play him talking about. Because you referenced. Top three quarterback. That's not on the chiefs atop two quarterback in the league. You guys believe is better than aaron rodgers right now flow herbert justin herbert justin herbert. He gets it games and he sees that front. They're going to throw justin gobert. Yeah they're gonna throw. And i don't believe that they believe that. I do not believe that they just want to say that before. People get confused. Show that just in herbert's atop to quarterback. I don't believe that. But he said he was better have been mahomes but they're but they're but they're gonna throw teams are going to to throw against those fronts. And so like i don't think i don't think the chiefs are going to be able to dictate like all right. Yeah these and unless they really get them in obvious third down situations i think teams are going to throw whenever they see that front against against the chiefs and i just i thought about it and i understand the thought of all right. Let's let's play around with it may chris. Jones is really into what he wants to do it and he wants to play on the outside. Put now that dude is great right there. That dude is great on the inside. And i know he didn't have twenty six last year. But but that's that's where he can be dominant. I just i i don't want to. I don't wanna just hurt two spots. And i think there is a real potential would do in that with chris jones and moving them on the outside you might i just. I continue to think that. Mike my kind of final assessment of the situation as we are here on july ninth. I don't think it hurts anything to try it for a few weeks in the regular season if it fails if you get into mid october and you're seeing what you're talking about right now we're on and teams are throwing on you on those running downs and you're not able to dictate anything and you're losing out on pass rush because you don't have chris jones out there honestly right around the time when frank clark..

"You're listening to the daily sales tips podcast. I'm your host. Scott Ingram. Today's tip comes from Joe Ingram the CEO of Ingram Interactive. I don't think we're related, but this is a pretty good idea. Give a listen in today's business, lead submissions, right or website visits that convert into a contact me or a I'm interested lead submission. Come in consistently so if you're advertising, the goal is what to get the prospect to engage with. With you one of the big things I. Always tell people is a confused mind will never click submit, so keep everything as simple as possible with that I'm trying to get one place with my prospect. I, need to be in one place now ideally I'd say ooh, that's face to face, but not all of us do actual brick and mortar businesses where we have to get in front of somebody where I want to get. Is Right here I need to get on their phone I need to get to them and ninety percent of all emails or read on the phone. Okay only seventeen percent of the people that an unknown number comes in will actually pick up the phone. Okay, but ninety three percent of all text messages are read within five minutes. Okay, so how do I get him on the phone? If I get a lead, submission form that comes into me and there's a phone number given I will pick up my phone and I will text that individual right away, Kate. Seventy eight percent of the sales go to the first responder. Now I'M GONNA. Go ahead and say I'M GONNA. Go text that person go. Hi, it's Joe over at Xyz. Company and I WANNA know if it's okay if we text today. So, I'm sending out a yes or no question very short very simple. Don't send the novel too many times, P. We're dumping in all of this. Information thinking. I only got one shot while they know. They submitted an actual request so again. Throw it out. There Hides Joel Road Xyz. Company and I just WANNA. Know if we can text today, and then I wait sixty seconds. A wait sixty seconds then I'll pick up the same phone I texted from, and I will dial their number the numbers already there when I dial at one of the best things that's helped us. Today is IOS from Apple. When you call somebody, so they have an iphone and you call them after you texted them. The system reads off to them. Instead of saying no number, it says maybe Joe. Now. They have to stop and think which Joe is this that I'm ignoring so you have a much better chance. So instead of seventeen percent answer rate I have companies almost up to fifty percent answer rate because the person's trying to figure out who they are. And why does their phone know them? And they don't? So they answer the phone and that gets you. The conversation gets you talking to your prospects, and then you do what you do. Hopefully I'll be back around explained better ways to convert once you get him on.

"PODCAST and I'm your host Scott Ingram. Yesterday my daughters went back to school. Those of you who know me well. No that I couldn't be More thrilled because selfishly. This means that I finally get to get my routine back on track that their summer vacation sends completely out of whack. But I wanted this year. A story from last week that I think is incredibly instructive. My youngest daughter is starting middle school so new school new schedule. The whole bit of course horseshoes feeling a bit anxious but what she decided to do. Last week was absolutely brilliant. She came to me Thursday night and asked me to wake her up at six thirty the next morning running. She wanted to walk through her morning routine and make sure she was going to be on time for the bus. Pickup at seven twenty. AM The result was pretty funny. 'cause she came home and told me that I could wake her up at six fifty and that would give her the time she needed and allow her to arrive at the bus. Stop at least two minutes before pickup. Now I know she felt a a lot better after that exercise because it took away a lot of the uncertainty and put her in a position to control the things that she can control. These dry runs are something that all of us can be doing when we get into new and complex situations. Especially if you've got a big sales meeting involving multiple individuals visuals on your own team going through a similar process to walk through a meeting and make sure everyone is clear on what their roles are. Who's going to answer? What questions Russians? And what you're going to do. Should things get off. Track is critically important. It'll help you conduct a much more effective meeting but perhaps more importantly it helps to reduce the level of anxiety. Now everyone knows what to expect and you can all be more present in the moment rather than having to think through do things that you should have already solved for in your dry run. So here's my question for you today. Windy you do dry runs. Do you find that they help. Are they worth join. The conversation at daily sales.
