How Mask Mandates Negatively Impact Our Children

"Way, one of the campaign 8 I had my treasury secretary tells me that, because of the mass mandates, her little child, little son, has now developed a Lisp. Never had it before. Never had it before. And she said it's because he can't see teacher speaking and they can't see him, pronouncing words. He's develop a Lisp. And now he's seeing a speech therapist to get rid of it. All because of the mass. Let me go back to doctor Prasad. Headline again the downside to masking young students are real and it was published in the Atlantic again that is a center left publication. And he writes for able bodied adults, masking public indoor settings, give you only minor inconveniences, but among children who even among the delta variant surge are experiencing serious outcomes.

By CNN Reporter John Berman's Definition, AOC Must Be Unvaccinated!

"This is John Berman, who I guess suddenly is head of virology at Johns Hopkins, not some more on at CNN cut four play cut. By and large, it's the unvaccinated who aren't wearing masks. It's the unvaccinated who aren't social distancing. It's the unvaccinated going to crowded indoor events there. And so there's this bizarre irony here that the ones who are behaving are being told to behave ten times more so. What's idle are? The bizarre IRA. Isn't he like a TV host? I don't know. Anyway, how does he know that it's the unvaccinated going to buzz? Is he like a mentalist? I guess he also presumes the AOC isn't vaccinated because she was just in Florida with me. I didn't run into her, but she was there partying on masks, so clearly she's not

COVID-19 Restrictions: BC Closing Bars, Banning Organized Indoor Events

"COVID-19. BC that's British Columbia. Canada is composed of provinces. I think it's 7 ten. Excuse me, ten. I've been to all of them except Prince Edward Island. BC closes gyms, bars, clubs, and bands indoor Christmas parties, as omicron cases surge. All Macron cases surge. So what if cases surge? Of any type. Cases is not the issue. Death is the issue serious illnesses the issue, right? And omicron? The South Africans of the people who revealed it, and they said, what's everybody panicking about? It's no big deal. When people cut off flights from South Africa, like that'll work. Notice, it's really been effective. On The Crown, omikron may be a blessing, may be a curse. I don't know. But it may be a blessing. If more and more people get natural immunity and don't get sick, want a gift. On Tuesday, what is today? Wednesday? No. Yesterday, health officials announced the cancellation of all indoor gatherings, regardless of size. Wow. I think Canada should replace the maple leaf. With a policeman, this is a good wish we should have a contest. What should Canada replace the maple leaf with? A sheep is very, very good, is a very good idea. A policeman is another good idea. Very nice. An N95 mask.

Two Major Airline CEOs Question Effectiveness of Mask Mandates on Planes

"Of America's largest largest airline said last week this week excuse me. They don't believe that the Biden administration's mass mandate requiring travelers to wear a mask while flying serves much benefit. Considering that airplanes have advanced filtration systems that remove nearly all airborne contamination from the cabin, they said. These are commons from American airline CEO and south Southwest airline CEO. They came yesterday during a Senate committee, hearing on the financial support the industry received during the pandemic. The CEO of Southwest said, I'm quoting. I think the case is very strong that masks don't add much if anything in the air cabin environment. It's very safe and very high quality compared to other indoor settings. And the CEO from American Airlines agreed. I concur in airline is the safest place you can be is true of all of our aircast aircrafts. They have hepa filters and airflow. In a study by Harvard's school of public health researchers, corroborated that found that there was a low risk of transmission of the coronavirus on flights.

Orange County to Don Masks Again as California's Statewide Mandate Goes Into Effect

"We've been talking about the mass mandates. They're now being reimposed, not just in LA county where they already have been, but throughout the entire state. Now, one county that did not have them with Orange County. I go down to Orange County quite often, and you don't find people wearing masks there. Now according to a COVID data tracker, if you line up LA county against Orange County you'll see that the mask mandate policy has been brutal for LA county. And far less so for the unmask Orange County. But now, as of today, a statewide mass policy goes into effect, which would of course include every county in California, all 58, including Orange County. The new mandate requires mass quote to be worn in all indoor public settings, irrespective of vaccine status for the next four weeks. Through January 15.

California Is Reinstating an Indoor Mask Mandate

"You folks in California, the Golden State, big news. This is from Joe Cowen of The New York Times. California, once again, requiring residents to wear masks and indoor public settings. So it doesn't matter where you are. Church, school, your house, you have to wear a mask. And the reason why is because of the spread of the highly contagious, but non lethal omicron virus. Coronavirus. I mean, folks at what point thank you Cardi B at what point was that Cardi B? Thank you, Cardi B. Really? Coronavirus. Oh yeah, that's cardi. All right. So the mandate goes into effect on Wednesday, will remain until at least January 15th. Can we just get real here? Folks, this is never going away. "indoor" Discussed on Plant Of The Week

"Now because it's just grasses embarking things all of which i enjoy but we now have to look indoors for plants by that meaning. They're there I just walked by a whole raft of them. grafted tack time all kinds of sizes shapes and colors. Very very cute interesting and so on then right next to those was a plant. That is in flower right now. Indoors of course qalandia. Then african violence come into their own right now. Now they have been in of course before now but they're still outstanding at this point in time and then many large and small tropicals by that meaning the size the plant as well as the size of the leave and then some of the variegated tropicals posts and Some of the ivy's and so on are very pretty in their variegated nature and then if we look around and have taken care not to have too much water too much cold and so on on our poinsettias. They're probably still in half decent bloom at this time. I know that mine are and then looking back. You're cutting off of a white one and kept the breakfast kept the stems. The flowers dip stuck in a little vessel of water and i waited and waited and waited. Made sure the water stadium and then all of a sudden it's starting to show some new green leaves and lord knows the little rascal has rooted. I'm going to take a clear on through this winter out into the yard next summer. Let it develop. And i'm going to have a white one of my own so to speak next winter so those are the things that are happening right now and and one of the things too that is backing this statement of mine. The industry keeps track of sales and gross of of what is being grown so much like any other industry keeps track and the sales and a well. Let's call it. Sales of indoor plants has exploded this year. Many people being trapped inside needed something besides the dog or the cat would screaming kids and they have turned to indoor plants. And it's it's showing on actual sales records and that's good now one of the other things that i find really very interesting. Because i've looked at it several times a month apart. Countertop earns a friend of mine's wife has a very attractive when she grows six different herbs. Right on the countertop luminaries in the top of it place to put six pots little holders On and off switch well. It's a time thing. She tries to get sixteen hours of sun or sun light on these plants every day and loves to cook with fresh herbs. So there's all kinds of things that can be doing and color right now. Well what you should do is get one of those herb gardens and give it to your brother the gourmet and let him cook a nice dinner. If he was closer you can believe that would have been done. He he keeps over. A number of things in one is a bay plant now. I'm not gonna liberate too much but that would be plant has been cut back down to three feet tall. He totes it into the family room. Whether it's good light each fall brings it back out into the garden. Each spring and uses bay leaves galore in all of his cooking. So there's there's all kinds of things like that Sometimes i wish it closer. Sometimes we're about to write distance apart but when it comes to food and him being chef. I really wish he was a whole lot closer. There you go. Hey you know. Gardening indoors in the wintertime is different. Because there's limited light so limited growth right surely so mark and and then not only limited light but limited humidity many homes or dryers in the sahara desert by actual readings they're under thirty percent moisture in the air and so on Can and does shut plants down. I don't mean it kills them but they are not growing much right now. They should be in good light. They should be kept moist not wet but moist and no fertilizer right now while they're resting but it's just a different kind of gardening Where you may have had to water those plants if you keep the other things indoors all the time. You may have had to water them. Once a week. In the summer spring summer fall. Now you might even get by. They might even get by with every two weeks The best way to tell is put the first knuckle of your big finger into the soil if it's dried down that roughly one inch then it's time to water water to the point. Soya soiled gets moist. Excess water drains away. And then you don't water again onto maybe up to two weeks so it's just a whole different kind of gardening. Respecting the plants means where they don't have greatest needs while near dormant. Don't push him. Don't over water but keep minnesota on at least good ambient light at the site of a window so that they will continue to grow and be beautiful for you. Why

"Gardening indoors in the wintertime is different. Because there's limited light so limited growth right surely so mark and and then not only limited light but limited humidity <hes>. Many homes are dryers in the sahara desert. By actual readings they're under thirty percent moisture in the air and so on <hes>. This can and does shut plants down. I don't mean it kills them but they are not doing much right now. They should be in good light. They should be kept moist not wet but moist and no fertilizer right now while they're resting but it's just a different kind of gardening <hes>. Where you may have had to water those plants if you keep other things indoors all the time. You may have had to water them once a week in the summer spring summer fall. Now you might even get by. They might even get by with every two weeks <hes>. The best way to tell is put the first knuckle of your big finger into the soil if it's dry down that roughly one inch then it's time to water soil. Don't over water them but keep them in the sun or at least good ambient light at the site of a window so that they will continue to grow and be beautiful for you. Why no one thing that you always stress with me is the the fact that these pots have to be able to drain out. Yes mark and one of the things that makes it real slick. You can use any vessel. But i bought but clear plastic. Well bowls if you will their <hes>. Their whatever woods base of the pot is a little more. they stand about an inch and a half high. I put pebbles any kind of pedals. But i have some decorative that i put in the bottom of those so they plant itself. Plant pot sits on top of the stone. Then when i water the excess can run out down into the area. The pebbles you usually doesn't overflow you have to be a little careful with that and then where the one or two standing still in the pebbles but not wedding the plant. "So there's been another resurgence of lyrics phones as phones that run something other than android basically and we wanted to have a chat about the future of these devices. Do they have a future? Where is their market? Who's going to buy these things? And Will they continue to survive? This was your idea wasn't mark. It was so yeah. I'd noticed you mentioned the phone which I'd seen sort of knocking about a bit called the Vala phone which is a phone which is being crowd funded. Is it yes? Yes and their their initial thing was the. It's going to be running an android open source project based a society of Google Free Android. But then they also. They raised a lot more than they were originally going forward so they said that they going to have other operating systems available stretch goal which I think now includes up into touch and alongside that We also had rumbled on for a while. The Lebron five which is still in development and has had shipped some initial versions and they've got their pure is it that they're running on land and we've also got the pine fire now which is available for preorder with a boon to touch. But they're also talking about all sorts of other things that can run on it As a sort of developer arm based handset and struck me as interesting that there's another round of of manufacturers who were seriously looking at alternative s- to to Android IOS in various spaced. Guises which we of we. We had this a while ago but they will kind of then went away. Didn't really get much traction but something for some reason has made these people say now's the time I give it another go and I'm I'm curious to see where it goes this time. Yeah it's it's difficult. I personally speaking. It's difficult for me because I had a hand in and worked at. Canonical was hired by canonical to work on that team. And and so I have a bit of a jaded perspective on this whole thing and I'm sure there are people who worked on devices before that the feel similarly about gay creating Lennox Lennox I devices who feel similarly jaded. So we're probably the worst people talk about this kind of stuff because we we've seen this stuff fail in the past and I think many of us who works on this stuff in the fall in the past com C. Path to success in the future if people keep doing the same thing the wielded in the past and didn't succeed then So and I should also say. I haven't actually tried Lebron five. I've never seen or touched upon phone. And I don't have a vol phone. So we're we're somewhat speculate based on their PR and feedback. We've seen from other people in the community. These phones all so for example. The leap five is very much orientated. Towards a previous conscious audience right do these other phones talking that market or are they more general purpose in what they're looking to achieve to some degree. Yes the Vala is touted as a security focused device. So they're certainly going after that market. I think this certainly A number of devices that are targeting people who probably have in the back of the mind Edward snowden style revelations and thoughts that people are spying on the these current problems that people say with the proprietary operating systems and including android in that because they feel like these big corporations buying them and the little guy won't be doing that and it's all open source and open hardware then they're less likely to be joined. Nestle each get away with doing that. So is that the thing that's changed. It's not so much the phones. It's the potential audience that can only be targeted with an open hardware open source. Found that. Certainly anything that's changed since Since we did that wasn't that wasn't the selling point of a Bantu touch. It wasn't a thing that we we talked about. It was a bipolar. It's like yeah. You don't have These google senses in your Google. Attached sensors are apple attached sensors in your device and so it was a biproduct but it wasn't the main selling point of the devices so yet maybe that's that's the big thing but the that whole thing that whole security and privacy schtick has been around for a while now and none of these yet have massively taken off and I don't know if we just too early or are they too late or when people mass audience looks for a device like this will Samsung oil. Lenovo have a privacy first device that will just be able to produce of cheaper. Maybe maybe some some will create device has a switch in. Its turn the camera. The microphone off. And tell the radios of because. That's one of things that both of those phones. The Lebron five in the pine phone both have physical switches. The Lebron has on the outside. That to bake clunky switches on the outside and the Pine Fan you take the back cover of and there are dip switches inside the you can use to turn off the hardware features that people would consider off the privacy invasion parts of the device the microphone the radios the camera so one other thing which has changed since the previous generation is the the free software platforms to run on these phones. Ofcom along quite a bit so when the up into fines were first released. It was basically if you wanted something at an up into sorry if you wanted a Lennox operating system which was really good on touchscreens. That was basically it into touch. Nothing else had really been designed with that in mind but nowadays No maps have pivoted towards a more mobile friendly style moving away from menus moving towards the ball with icons and the controls of the APP there. There's you reports of kept in touch and continue to develop that. There's also plasma mobile which is the the Katie effort to Mak- sort of mobile my well-focused suite of of APPs and interfaces and then there's other things selfish there's post marketer s and there's a whole bunch of other stuff going on around this so does any of this have the potential to make a difference with these new voices the platform more important than than the device itself. I think you're right in. They will moved on a bit and they got better Liberal go a little bit faster. It helps the hallway. Gets faster over the generations but yeah. I think they've all moved on a bit And I know the the same stuff has been helped by the work that periods of done for the Lebron five with their lip handy library helps APP developers to make their APP almost. Shall we say convergent yet? So that it works on a mobile device and a larger screen full factors as well so yeah I think I I worry a little bit. The we're only talking about the most recent generations like ub ports touch and Yala. But we haven't mentioned that there are generations before this as well like the Nokia n nine hundred may Mo- mobile in all these other things that Intel and Nokia date back back in the day they will have to go at this and these giant companies with huge budgets and they still fail to get market adoption for things like that Nokia. Nine hundred was a fabulous device. Stupendous the expensive but an and it was lovely and had mainstream marketing and big promo video and it. I don't know what numbers sold in but it didn't. It didn't reach enough. Mass Market Appeal. It was killed soon after it was created so I don't know that any of the others are doing anything that those didn't do two generations previously. That would make them succeed where they didn't. Yeah I mean I can remember my first foray into mobile devices and Lennox was a project called familiar. Did you ever see this? And I installed familiar which was based on a compaq ipaq fifty nine fifty using a compactflash card. And you had to sort of purge the window. Ca firmware off the device. He had to jump through some pretty extreme hoops to make it happen. And as you can imagine it was early. It was impressive. Ran A tool but it was early days. And it just wasn't geared up for that sort of thing and I feel like a lot of these things have been interesting projects but they have been ostensibly projects rather than products. And I don't think that the product is therefore a mainstream audience so maybe these projects need to target the interested. People are would follow those projects rather than think about it as a product. Right and I think that's where Google of succeeded by taking.

Guises which you know we sort of we. We had this a while ago but they will kind of then went away. Didn't really get much traction but something for some reason has made these people say now's the time I give another go and I'm I'm curious to see where it goes this time. Towards a previous conscious audience. Bright do these other phones talking that market. Or are they more general purpose in what they're looking to achieve to some degree? Good to Eddie and my good friend Mark was leaving there. And we'll put that in up to Muck Well I've been playing board games but not as you might expect in person with people although you might expect that these days but what I've been doing is playing games on a computer. Have you been using tabletop simulator by any chance? I haven't I have in the past but mean tabletop simulator. Is Good up to a point. But basically it's his simulator and you have all sorts of stuff and people mess around and you either have to you. Have a choice between some games of questionable Licensing and quality and sort of just sort of making up yourself a lot of time. So I've been using instead is a website could board game arena and this is a site where you can play in your browser various board games which are probably licensed and And quite good and there's no additional simulation around it to make you look like you're actually sitting around a table and people messing around making dice everywhere. You just have the game and it sort of makes the mechanics of playing easier and sing signals when you playing and what do each so. It's quite easy for people who either aren't so familiar with a particular game or aren't so familiar with playing online. You makes it quite easy for you to bring people in and and get stuff going so yeah you playing with remote participants. I imagine I am so I have Some people who are I work with. We have a an occasional lunchtime board gaming group. And now we're working remotely. I decided that it would be good to try. And keep that going and play some games with them. What do you do in terms of keeping in touch? While you're playing a game so do you. Do you have like a Scott? Go running or something. Yes so we. We use skype in much of teams for conversations anyway. So we tend to just do that. There is also a feature if you're a premium member of Board Game Marina which I would recommend because their servers are struggling Imagine they could do with having some money. Not Them Yet. I do have a sort of web. Rtc based chat video and audio chat thing if you're a premium member which you can use But at the moment we've just run that as a separate thing via skype and which games of you being playing there is a game called six nymphs or something like that. It's a very. I don't think it's an English word but basically your placing cards and trying your luck against what other people are gonNA place and trying to not have to take lots of cards and score points makes it a lot more sense that you're playing it when I try and describe but that's a good one Especially the way that it's presented because it it does the complicated working out WHO's one four year rather than you having to look everyone's Collagen workout yourself.
