"Brought to you by Bette rivers. I'm Jeff Goodman. I'm joined by none other than the Miller brothers, Sean Miller, former Arizona head coach, our team Miller former Indiana head coach, both are looking down at the brackets as we speak. You guys have never had to do this. You've never had a break down the brackets like this right away. It's not easy. So you learn, now what it's like to try to figure this thing out on the fly, you know, we'll start with the team. They just start right there. All right, let's start there. Let's start there. When you find out who you are playing, where you are going, what is the first, what's going through your guys head, Sean, you did it more than your brother arts. What's going through your head each year? Well, I think the one thing that really stands out, Jeff is, it's a brand new beginning. I mean, the record, you sense it from the players that are on your team, the school that you're out. It really starts to become reality of how big the NCAA tournament is. It's like, it's a reset, and it's something like we did it. We've accomplished it. And I think everybody kind of has a renewed brand new sense of energy. Are you sweating at that point? Or, I mean, your guys are breaking down video right away. I've seen it. You know, they're trying to get as much as they can. What's the night like tonight? You know, I think the build up to the day almost feels like a celebration of birthday party. You go through the bracket, they say your name, everyone's celebrates, and then the coach immediately starts thinking about, all right, who's got the scout, you know? Who can we call for help? Let's meet in one hour after I get done with media and let's go to work on two or three games. And then, you know, where are we traveling to? Your administration and your ops people go to work literally for 24 hours to prepare for the trip to travel. It immediately takes off and I think your players like Sean said, they have a whole sense of like why you do it. What you appreciate why it's so hard to get there. And you know, you have everyone's full attention again. And depending on the type of season you had, there's probably a lot of different emotions on what your goals are as you go in. But I think at the end of the day, to be able to be in it, have that first game under your belt, you're staring at it, the hype that goes into it. It's an incredible feeling to be honest with you. It's what makes college basketball special. Last four in Indiana, Notre-Dame Rutgers, Wyoming, Indiana gets Wyoming in the first four. I kind of said all along. You know that they're their own big names in the first four..

"But it's a crime problem. It's a national security problem. The fact that a group of haitians a large group thousands of patients or on our southern border at del rio texas which means they had to take planes or boats to mexico and head north. How did they do it. Who covered their costs. Why are they there. The fact that a large group of migrant chinese have been found at the border who are they. Why are there. How did they get there. And when you point this stuff out the left goes nuts and says you're doing de delve into conspiracy theory. of course. there are no muslims. A we found remember a couple of years ago. We arrested islamic fighters who were crossed the border. This really did happen. The fbi sent out a press release and the situation has gotten better. The situation has not gotten better and we need to get better and to get better. It can't just be the states. The federal government needs help. The federal government has an obligation to stop invasions of the states. This is a real world real live invasion of texas. It may not be an armed invasion. But it's still a mass invasion of people. Ten thousand under a bridge in del rio texas. They're expecting ten thousand more in the next few days. That's not just a humanitarian crisis. It's an invasion in one the bite administration is failing to stop. Something's gotta give here. Something has got to give. And it's gotta be us on our side. Demanding action from washington dc on a bipartisan basis. It's gotta happen for the sake in the lives of those who are coming for the sake of those. Who are the farmers and workers in south texas arizona new mexico who were having to deal with it. Something's gotta happen. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. At a prayer request for an eighth grader named isaac who severely severely broke his leg playing football Freak accident and he has had to lose his foot and just wanted to bring update They had amputated his foot in there. Hoping that that'll be all And i appreciate the prayers and so many of have reached down and ask for an update and just wanted to tell you Just please keep him in his family and prayers isaac As he recovers from the still got a few more surgeries they have to do. Just a terrible freak accident As i understand it broke his leg. The bone tour through the artery Caused all sorts of damage. Just just terrible so He's in eighth grade. Keep them in your prayers He and his family It just just tears me up to think about it But he's he's got a he's he's doing better than than those around him. His his mental state is great So many other people worried clarence. Thomas is causing all sorts of commotion on the left. They can't stand the guy for one. And he's giving a speech south. Bend indiana notre dame. This is the washington post he defended the independence of the supreme court on thursday warned against destroying our institutions. Because they don't give us what we want when we want it. The longest serving justice acknowledged the high court has its flaws comparing it to a car with three wheels. That somehow still work. But he said the justices are not ruling based on personal preferences and suggested the leaders should not allow others to manipulate our institutions. When we don't get the outcomes we like now he was doing this lecture at the university of notre dame and said i think the media makes it sound as though you are just always going right to your personal preferences. So if they think. You're an any any abortion or something. Personally they think that's the way you'll always come out. They think year for this or that they think you're becoming a politician. That's the problem. You're going to jeopardize any faith in the legal institution. He says he echoes justices briar and barrett and also kagan by the way all of whom had said the courts off political that they they they certainly are ideological and how they approach the constitution of the lake. But they're not be in a bunch of partisan hacks because barrett's words and then justice. Thomas said something else he said the supreme court might actually was intended to be the least invasive of the federal institutions. Might now be the most dangerous win. Some of the court do behave politically and try to make outcomes for politics. The left is attacking clarence. Thomas essentially say well of course. He's a politician. Why because clarence. Thomas is actually very predictable in how he views things and people kind of know where he's going to win and that should be the point of the supreme court. Hey follow along with me here. You want predictable patterns of jurisprudence in this country if every single decision before the supreme court were crap shoot. The nation's business would be up ended by having a number of justices who you can say all right In these cases were not really sure the outcome but we can fairly be sure in most cases. We're going to get this sort of outcome. Because of the ideological leanings of the court it provides a more stable path forward for the business of the nation and the business of businesses. Well like steven briar constantly. Side with the conservative when it comes to a major corporations he knows corporate law and patent law better than most and it provides a way for people to move forward in this country knowing. They're not going to get grossly disrupted by the supreme court. You should want those sorts of predictable outcomes. You should want the unpredictable outcomes and we can predict based on their ideological leanings not based on their partisanship fact that people in the left understand this just shows how they wanna make everything about politics and degrade disregard our institutions that don't do their bidding for them. It's the supreme court's popularity has fallen in large part because the left has so politicized it in an effort to pack it sad. You guys have a great weekend. Ceo of monday..

"To go to an extra hole to decide. The club championship. No wager away and wager an extra five and I hold out the greatest bunker shot of all time. And you took all the cabbage guess a chunk of it. It wasn't much. We don't play for much, but no one. I know his place. Sounds like somebody else. We don't play for anything. I got guys with private planes. They play for a dollar. Because, yeah, I just have something something steak other than embarrassment sake, please continue. Willie. It also was. The Bengals are inviting fans to PBS for back together Saturday. On July, the 31st fans will be able to watch Bengals practice and enjoy a variety of family free free, family friendly activities. Inflatables face painting Balloon artists pictures with who day and in the in the Bengals Cheer zone, And you've seen Joe Burrow recently as he walking without a limp. Does he look normal? Looks great. That was the biggest takeaway from OTAs for me were allowed to go to four practices. I expected going into those OTAs that he would play catch on the side. Sideline. He would be there to show his support. And then you go off to the rehab field and work out with Nick cause gray and continue to work on his knee. He did virtually everything at this firing that ball would be at the front at the first practice. They limited him quite a bit. I mean, don't hit him, right? No defensive lineman tours. Of course not. But don't hit him. Don't don't the first practice. They didn't even let a running back stand next to him in the backfield, Just in case they like, you know, ran into each other. And miscommunication but practices 23 and four He was rolling out left and right. He was, you know, he would sprint from drill to drill. He looked fine. He's going to be great. I've seen North tough. Baltimore top Lamar Jackson, Pittsburgh, maybe the last year for big band tough Cleveland picked to win by some the Super Bowl. Cleveland's tough Cincinnati normally, as has a little bit of difficulty with Pittsburgh this year. All the teams are loaded. I don't think Pittsburgh is they've lost their entire offensive line. Their offensive line is infinitely worse than the Bangles right now. So for all of the heat that Cincinnati takes over the offensive line, and did they do enough to improve the Steelers have nothing left up front. They're terrible upfront. You see athletics, more dominant football or basketball. What is alright? Football football Right now They're going to begin the season in the top 10. They've got consecutive road games against Indiana, Notre Dame. It's early in the season. You may not know it, but that's important. If they win those games and get that kind of national attention, they are going to have a legitimate chance at making a 14 playoff. They would need help say that again. They would have a legitimate chance of neighboring 14 playoff. They would have to go undefeated, including wind. Unbelievable at Indiana and Indiana is tough. They're good, really good, Always good. But if they somehow pulled that off and ran the table, they would have a legitimate chance segment. We have John Tandy coming up who's wrote a book about how Trump was not allowed to be Trump. Because Anthony Fauci overtook Trump. If Trump was Trump the president now would be trump. So he's attacking the president from the right. Not the left. He thinks Trump wasn't trump enough. How about that segment? Sounds pretty good to me. Dan Hart. Thank you. Once again, Willie segue. Thank you for being a stooge. 10 names any time and a half 10. And what about your 10 s sake? The TEM 10 teammates in a hat. That would be good I could do, one would say, because I've done it with Marty, where I wrote down the name of a player from every year that segue has covered the Reds, and then he would pull out 10. And hopefully share stories as good as the one he told about junior. Well, he began with high Negro. That was the first person how'd you know Heinie never paid for second Denise to go out to Seattle because Seattle did not have a team that's right back while it was not settled at that point, By the way, I misspoke when telling my pope T shirts story that was 2000 and five I said 2015 $15. I think J P Jr was done in 2011 like Sigmund, Get us out of this huge report, Willi in honor of a rain, shower, hitting Ken Wood, but it's always sunny to have Dan Hoard. "See that anybody in the world will be a live Sunday. What if an accident befalls Justin Fields? God forbid, maybe a traeger grill falls on top of him. E don't joke about such matters. Well, no, of course not. We don't want that. That would be horrific. But is that 251 pies or do we keep it going? Every subsequent draft happened? Stop it. Okay, Okay. You don't have to get so upset. I just think Cove. It caught us all off guard. Will you shut up? Fine Broadcasting from the Mercedes man. With zero clarity about something that happens to everyone. My dad's dead. Here's Dan Patrick. Welcome to the program. It's our two on this Wednesday. Dan in the damn it stand, Patrick show Mel Kiper draft expert will join us coming up in about 20 minutes. It's the calm before the storm the day before the day and we do have a little bit of news, or at least the potential for some news. Some of the college football analyst insiders. We've got some tweets that the F B s commissioners air considering expanding the college football playoff from four schools up to double digit teams. I sense 12 teams is building support, One source told Stewart Mandel. Andy Staples also involved in this as well. We'll talk to Andy coming up next hour. If you look at a 12 team playoff now, if you do the math 40% of the teams in the NFL make the plans. In college football. 9% would make it if you bumped it up to 12 teams, So still, it's the hardest playoff to get into and all of the sports But if you looked at the 12 team playoff based off of last year Alabama would be playing Coastal Carolina. First round. Who would have thought in any lifetime, we would say, Oh, yeah in the playoffs, Coastal Carolina is going to face Alabama. I know they would probably get blown out. But you still want to get the chance. College football doesn't give you the chance. There's no March madness. There's no butler. There's no George Mason. There's no underdog story. Coastal Carolina against Alabama, Indiana. Would play Notre Dame. How good is that? So that's round one Indiana Notre Dame. Imagine how big that would be in the state. Because Indiana it's a basketball school. Now you get to go up against Notre Dame. I know you agree you're going to say Well, they have no chance. Or maybe you do. Pull one upset, and then you get blown out after that. I understand all of that. All you need is one day one Lucky day, And if you're playing each other on a neutral site in a bowl game That way. I can factor in the bowl games. Now I can have more bowl games be more meaningful because let's face it the ball games. There's pomp and circumstance and pageantry and a nice gift bag. But nobody cares. Nobody remembers. There might be bragging rights for a fan base. But imagine if you took the Outback Bowl and it became a first round destination for one of the playoff games. And then you graduated to the Cotton Bowl. And then after that you went to the Fiesta Bowl. Then you make all of the bull games relevant important. And tune in factor. It would be some of the other matchups in the first time you said. They're good first round if it was the 12 team playoff Bama, Coastal Carolina, Notre Dame, Indiana, Clemson, Oklahoma will be a first round match up those air heavyweights. You have Ohio State Cincinnati, another in state game that would be juicy in your state. Why you see Texas A and M versus Georgia. It's awesome. And in Iowa State seatings team versus Florida. So all it does is it brings more teams in more conferences in Maura money in and you're able to kind of replenish a lot of these athletic departments. This is inevitable. Like for how many years at least a decade. I thought with Bill Hancock of you know, college football and the the BCS. He was the head of the BCS. And I would say, Look, Bill, it's expanding. Nobody wants it. None of the coaches wanted. We'd have coaches on Steve Spurrier. I'd say, Coach do you want this? They were open to a Pete Carroll was still at USC and I'm never saying it's happening. Whether you want it or not, we're going to expand. We went from 2 to 4 and I was on record as saying I'd be satisfied with four. But given what's happened now in college athletics the importance of the money to keep other programs alive within an athletic department, his paramount And I do think it's a win win for everybody involved here because you're gonna have Bowl games benefit. Now you're going to say, Well, what about the players? And that's that's always going to be there. And with Marc Emery, it's staying is the head of the CIA. You're not changing that. You own your like this, and you may be able to capitalize and there may be a cap on how much money you could make. But Mark Emmert, staying in there is the head of the int'l. We're not paying players anytime soon. Yes, make love and I If you go to 12 teams with Supreme Court ready to rule on this, there's no way you could build. Not people. Pay players like this would be awful optics. You're gonna have to pay the players if they do this. I mean, what is it? They say it's coming out in July. They're going to say that its antitrust cannot limit benefits. You know, they already given name image like this, Which is gonna be a lot of money to start. Maybe that's enough. Well, that's what they thought that you've got to go. Okay. How do we cut our losses here? We'll give you name and likeness. Well, we'll give you what's yours. We're gonna give that back to you. It's actually someone like page butlers can probably make more Yukon than WN BA. If it goes the right way, you could make a fair living here in certain markets. You can't certain cities certain franchise to certain teams. I should say that you could make you know a pretty good amount of money. Sampling. The NSA is a parent that won't give their kids an allowance but will allow their kid to get a paper route. That's it. They avoid paying the kid by allowing them to work outside the building for his money. That's what they're gonna do it by signing Marc Emery. They're going to ensure that they don't pay play. The parents also just happened to have all the kids doing all the work around the house exam being like Now go do your paper route to get paid. Welcome to the program already in progress. Our two as we interrupted our draft coverage to bring you that will get phone calls. 8773 d p show email address. Dp Dan patrick dot com Twitter handle the DP Show. And we have a poll question, McLovin. Are we staying with that poll? Question for the second hour of the process of the Polly wants a side bet. Oh, a side bet. Now, keep in mind. We already got some side action between Seton and make love and tomorrow night based off Justin Fields. Yeah, the better their pull right now is who will win the bet. Senior make love. And I have Justin Fields eight or lower seat has some nine or higher Piper place 57% say, I'm gonna win that one, probably more about Justin Fields. That followed. I have a side bet Whether keep in mind there was a tweet that was just sent out late last hour. And I'm guessing this is from a football report. "Cincinnati would look at all the talent they have coming back on that side among the players put the head coaching knows something and send it out. You know what I'm most excited about is They play Indiana and Notre Dame at a conference now forever. The argument against a group of five team in a playoff is well, they don't have the resume off other these these other teams, not playing the same kind of competition. Of course, that same kind of competition may not want to schedule Cincinnati. Cincinnati goes to South Bend or Bloomington and wins those two games. As you point out now, it would be very difficult for the committee to ignore them. Yeah, 100%. I mean, those are two of the biggest nonconference games in all of college football. I would say, because we expect Indiana Notre Dame. The problem would be top 15 team. Cincinnati probably gonna be a top 15 team in the preseason. So those games we're gonna be absolutely huge, regardless of playoff. For what? Anything. So Yeah, it's Cincinnati. You know, obviously they deserve to be better than where they were placed this year and number eight. You would think you know if they were able to somehow rack up to top 15 wins like that. Next year. They get a Better. Look, um you know who knows with that committee, but no, there will be no excuse. Leave. A nun defeated Cincinnati out next year That happened, You know, I don't I don't think there's any question that this football team is really, really good or was really, really good this year and They should have won the game against Georgia in the pizza ball over above. What fickle is done, which is over, recruited Ohio very intense here in Cincinnati. What needs to be done in the minds of those that may not be so dialed in past the group of five What is Cincinnati need to do? To upgrade its presence in the minds of some some of the writers some of the people that are and other schools I'm saying, it's it's it almost seems like it's at a plateau right now. Yeah. I mean, you know, you look at it. I think the Peach Bowl was the highest rated New York six Bulls not not counting the playoffs, so I think you know there was a lot of interest there. Had Cincinnati held on won that game. I'm sure they'd get a lot more, I think going into 2041. Cincinnati is on everybody's mind. Everybody will be respecting them. I think like this in my colleagues, sure, Mandela, I think have them a number. Eight in the preseason top 25. I think he did so. This is the team. Everybody knows what they can do. Everybody knows what they could do next year, So I think you know Rupert was built this program up into a spot where everybody knows Cincinnati something that will be on everybody's mind going into next season. Yeah. Where did Coastal Carolina come from? I mean, I'm guilty of the same thing I just accused others of when it came to Cincinnati. Where did this team come from? You know they were. They were picked to finish last place in their division last year. So you were not alone in that it e think it all starts with One. Jamie Chatter was a really good coach. We did you know he's one everywhere, he said. Another stop. He had been promoted to the job kind of transitioning the team over the last couple of years with some roster changes. But more than anything is they found the quarterback and Grayson recall who was a redshirt freshman. Not even on the radar. You looking in the preseason magazine because Coastal Carolina had two guys coming back, would started a quarterback and then sentence. McCall Redshirt freshman who ends up taking over the 13 God he played in that type of spread option offense in high school ends up having a huge season. I remember he was freshman all American or not, but Uh, it all started with him. He's back. They've got almost everybody back outside of their running back and their star defensive end They will be want to get a really good team probably favored to win the Sun belt. They like like Cincinnati. They have their head coach coming back. So coastal came out of nowhere, and I don't think they're going anywhere. You know what I like about coastal Carolina? Is what did the end of the season just on about a week's notice. They schedule BYU and I think that was that was that was a message. I think Across the border in college football. Everybody says what? We've got a schedule these games five years out seven years out. No, you don't. We just saw that it's entirely possible. Do you think that will change the scheduling mechanism? Or at least plant the seed for it, and a lot of these athletic directors minds? I think it could be a small level. I mean, for the most part, a lot of these games are already scheduled out for the next I'm 10 years, so there's not a lot of Hold their changes to be made. But I do think it could maybe slow down a little bit. I mean, you've got Notre Dame Underneath that cancels out like 2030. I think already it's It's kind of insane, so You know, we don't reason anybody could. He seems so far out. They only do it because other people do it and it just kind of snowball and everybody feels like they're going to be left out if they don't do it, But, yeah, there's no reason to do it and Coastal Carolina be why you showed us. You can put out a really fun game that everybody enjoy. Three days. Note. So Cincinnati one Coastal Carolina to the rest of your top 10 is Liberty, Louisiana who surprised a lot of people Ball State. San Jose State. Six, Boise State seven Nevada eight Central Florida nine Army 10 of that group That I just mentioned which of those teams do you think has the best chance? Try and not Cincinnati off as the top group of five team which one of those teams a team I'm really looking forward to next year is going to be enough that they was seven into this year and they bring almost everybody back. One of those is their quarterback. Person. Strong could be a future NFL draft The keys of the big kid who just had a huge year of the talk more so I'm very interested to see if Nevada you know they were one of my kind of sleeper teams in the Mountain West this year, they made that stuff up to go seven into nearly made the Mountain West Championship game. So with strong back and if their top receiver comes back unless I checked We don't know if he is, but if they're they're top receiver comes back. I think Nevada could be a team. That kind of surprises everybody to have a really big year. Top receiver Romeo Dogs. Yeah, we haven't heard yet. Chrisman. Any good stuff? Always great Having you on the show. Thank you for your time. Yep. Thanks for having me. One of the things he says here that I think is Is something really for you See fans to be excited that over to Buck Desmond Ritter coming back. He'll have Ah, lot of skill talent around him Running back to Rome. Ford Ford Average 6.5 6.6. I think maybe better than 6.5 yards per carry Michael Young. Josh while I I think offensively that team is going to be fine. Now The defense may be in flux with the new defensive coordinator..
